It's been a quarter century since we first met Mikey, Mouth, Chunk, Data, and the rest of the Goonies on their quest for One-Eyed Willy's pirate treasure. If you have no idea what any of that means, go ask your parents. Then send them over to the computer, because they'll think this is awesome.

It might not have arrived in time for the day-and-date anniversary, but the upcoming Goonies: 25th Anniversary Collector's Edition looks so gobsmackingly awesome, I'll forgive them that oversight. Hitting stores November 2nd, the Collector's Edition will list for $49.99 on Blu-ray and $39.92 on DVD, and both versions come in a snazzy case loaded with goodies. How will Warner Bros. be playing on our ever-growing sense of nostalgia? Well, the set will include a new Goonies board game, collectible storyboard prints, a 1985 souvenir magazine, and a reprint of a 2009 magazine with updates about the cast and crew. The special features themselves look repeats from the earlier DVD releases, so you'll have to decide if the extra goodies merit an upgrade. The features include:
  • Cast commentary with director Richard Donner and all seven actors
  • "The Making of The Goonies" documentary
  • Cyndi Lauper music video “The Goonies ‘R Good Enough”
  • Theatrical trailer
  • Deleted scenes
