Watchmen fans who paid to see Zack Snyder’s movie and found some of their favorite bits from the comic missing are in for a something special. Warner Bros. has just announced the movie’s DVD and Blu-Ray debut, and they’re releasing it with even more footage. You can get the standard theatrical version, but the Blu-ray and 2-Disc Special Edition of the film will contain a 25-minute longer director’s cut of the film.

Nearly as good as 25 more minutes of movie are some of the Blu-Ray edition’s special features. They’ve included something called “Maximum Movie Mode” which lets you watch the entire movie while simultaneously watching detailed making of material, enjoying material from the graphic novel, and getting filmmaker commentary. All of that in one, single, simultaneous viewing. I imagine the experience to be a lot like what happens when Dr. Manhattan makes someone’s head explode.

Below we have cover art and details for all four different ways you can get it. Yes they’re releasing it in full screen. No I don’t know what kind of person would buy it, but I’m fairly certain Ozymandias would not approve. Alan Moore on the other hand, probably doesn’t approve of owning DVDs. But then who needs DVDs, when you’re a warlock?
