Warning: spoilers are ahead for CBS’ Fit for Christmas movie.

CBS celebrated the festive season in a new way with Fit for Christmas, starring The Talk’s Amanda Kloots as Christmas-loving fitness instructor Audrey and holiday movie legend Paul Greene as charming businessman Griffin. Both were extremely driven… but their ultimate goals were unfortunately in complete opposition for most of the movie, and it was hard to guess how viewers could get a happy ending without one of the leads losing in a big way. Luckily, Fit for Christmas found a way to deliver the classic happy ending that Christmas movie fans expect, and Kloots has opened up about why she loved it. 

Despite Audrey bringing all the merry and bright that anybody could possibly hope for in her mission to save the Mistletoe, Montana community center, Griffin and his company put up enough money to get all the necessary votes to be able to replace the center with a ski resort. Even though there were enough sparks flying between them that Audrey wasn’t ready to accept Bradley’s (played by Stephan Miers) proposal, Griffin's company buying the community center seemed like the point of no return… until the Christmas spirit got to him, and he found the way to incorporate everything that is special about Mistletoe into what he intends to build. 

The future was looking bright for Audrey and Griffin under the mistletoe, after she sent Bradley back to New York, had a new vision for her work as a fitness instructor, and learned that Griffin was staying in town as well. Both characters got a win, and they earned their Christmas kiss before the final credits rolled. Amanda Kloots, who opened up about working with Paul Greene after his long list of Hallmark movies, spoke with CinemaBlend about Fit for Christmas and shared her thoughts on how the movie ended:

Fit for Christmas didn’t just end with one of them having to give up their goal for the sake of starting a romance, but with Griffin seeing a better way after being inspired by Audrey, and Audrey learning from his business expertise to find a way to do what she loves without leaving Mistletoe. Was there any question of Audrey going back to New York with Bradley to work at a gym with no independence or creativity, when she could have everything she needed and wanted back in the town that she loved?

Of course, Audrey still brought a bit of New York back with her to Mistletoe, even though she left the city without knowing if she’d ever return. Her wardrobe consisted of a combination of fashion and festivity from beginning to end. When I noted that I loved all of Audrey’s Christmas outfits in the movie, Amanda Kloots weighed in on whether she had input on what her character wore:

Sure, Audrey wore her share of Christmas sweaters, but she was also the only one who went full holiday glam for the party at the end with her green dress! She was still part of Mistletoe as much as ever, with a bit of flair that she brought back from New York City. It certainly made for a picturesque final moment between her and Griffin under the mistletoe! 

Fit for Christmas was Amanda Kloots’ first Christmas movie, and she was inspired to create it following the loss of husband Nick Cordero back in 2020. She had simply never seen a holiday TV movie about fitness before. So, did her experience make her want to do another Christmas movie? She had an enthusiastic response:

Whether or not Amanda Kloots will be back in holiday movies in time for next Christmas season, CBS has some more festive fare in store in 2022. Must Love Christmas, starring Liza Lapira of The Equalizer, comes to the network on Sunday, December 11, while When Christmas Was Young (starring Galavant alum Karen David) will premiere on Sunday, December 18.

The Christmas season is coming to CBS in a new way with Fit for Christmas, starring Amanda Kloots. The project is The Talk co-host’s very first holiday movie, and she was involved in it as more than just the leading lady. Kloots created the premise that incorporates her real-life love of fitness as she plays Audrey in the festive town of Mistletoe, Montana, and she spoke with CinemaBlend about finding her inspiration after losing her husband, Nick Cordero, in 2020.

Broadway alum Amanda Kloots reached many people in 2020 as she opened up about her husband’s struggle with COVID, before and after he passed away in July of that year. Now, with Fit for Christmas releasing to bring some holiday cheer, Kloots shared with CinemaBlend that she wanted this to be the project that brought her back into acting because she created it, then elaborated on how she found inspiration in a difficult time:

Kloots continued to update well-wishers on how she and her son were moving forward after their loss, and summer Christmas movies brought her some inspiration for a kind of project that hadn’t been done before in the many holiday movies that so many people love. Now a celebrity fitness trainer as well as co-host of The Talk, who better than Kloots to create the Fit for Christmas premise and bring it to life as star? She continued, saying: 

Anna White wrote a number of holiday movies for Hallmark and Lifetime before joining forces with Amanda Kloots, and the extended trailer is proof enough that they’re bringing a merry and bright project to CBS. The movie follows the story of Christmas-obsessed fitness instructor Audrey, whose holiday plans in Mistletoe run into some obstacles when charming and less-than-festive businessman Griffin (played by Hallmark legend Paul Greene) turns up with his own plans for the town. Can they find common ground, and perhaps something more together? 

You’ll have to tune in to see what the holiday season holds for Audrey and Griffin on December 4, but playing this character meant that Amanda Kloots was able to bring her real-life fitness skills to the Christmas movie, which allowed her to do something that she already loved while also having fun on set as the star. When asked about her experience using her real-life skills in Fit for Christmas, she confirmed that it was “so fun," and explained: 

As a fitness instructor, Audrey will manage to combine dance, exercise, and – of course – Christmas for workouts in Mistletoe, and Amanda Kloots didn’t exactly need to go to fitness boot camp to learn all the right moves! Of course, not every star of Fit for Christmas is a trainer when not starring in TV movies or co-hosting The Talk. When asked if her co-stars were able to keep up with her, Kloots shared:

That had to be good news for the cast members who didn’t already have years of experience! All things considered, Fit for Christmas sounds like a merry way to get into the holiday spirit, and TV fans who know Kloots from The Talk can see a different side of her as Audrey. The holiday season is quickly approaching, and CBS is embracing all things merry and bright with a movie that could leave everybody feeling much more festive by the time the final credits roll. Fit for Christmas will arrive in the 2022 TV schedule on December 4 with The Talk’s Amanda Kloots as the leading lady opposite Hallmark’s Paul Greene. Kloots opened up to CinemaBlend about Fit for Christmas as her very first holiday movie, how her Broadway background has helped, and working with Greene!

Amanda Kloots is already a familiar face for CBS fans as a co-host of The Talk, which she joined full-time in late 2020. In Fit for Christmas, she plays a fitness instructor by the name of Audrey, who is obsessed with Christmas in the town of Mistletoe, Montana. The charming Griffin (played by Paul Greene) comes to town with a business plan for the beloved community center where Audrey teaches, and it seems safe to say that not everybody will be feeling the holiday spirit as much as others! 

Playing Audrey in a Christmas movie is of course very different from The Talk, which has been running since 2010 with a shifting roster of hosts. When Amanda Kloots spoke with CinemaBlend about her new project, she explained what her experience was like in shifting from a talk show to a scripted movie: 

Prior to coming to Los Angeles, Kloots was in Broadway productions and a Radio City Rockette, so performing was nothing new to her. Acting as the star of a movie is quite different from what she has done before, however, and an acting coach was able to help her get ready for the holiday movie.  

Amanda Kloots – who is also now a celebrity fitness trainer with workout skills that definitely come in handy for Fit for Christmas – went on to share that her Broadway experience “absolutely” helped her for filming the project, and elaborated:

Fit for Christmas (which she also executive produced) may not be a stage musical, but the skills that served her so well in theater translated to her work on her first TV movie. Plus, the extended trailer for the movie reveals that not only will Amanda Kloots be able to bring her distinct style of fitness to the small screen, but also be part of a good old-fashioned kickline!

The actress also had a leading man who knows his way around a Christmas movie. Paul Greene has starred in a range of Hallmark movies including A Christmas Detour, Christmas in Angel Falls, and Christmas CEO, to name just a few. Also an alum of the network’s When Calls the Heart, he brought plenty of holiday experience to Fit for Christmas. When asked what it was like to work with him as such a veteran of the genre, Kloots said:

Amanda Kloots only had praise for Paul Greene (who recently weighed in on on the Candace Cameron Bure controversy) as her scene partner, although his character may not make such a positive impression on Kloots’ Audrey when they first meet! Of course, with the movie celebrating the holly jolly season in a town called Mistletoe, can a businessman keep his mind solely on business? And can Audrey work some Christmas magic?

The world of daytime TV talk shows has been thrown into upheaval lately, with longtime staples like The Ellen Degeneres Show and Maury coming to an end, as well as newcomers like Nick Cannon, which was canceled after just one season. Meanwhile, Sherri Shepherd prepares to debut her new show, amid The Wendy Williams Show's cancellation. Amid all the shakeup, however, one perennial series just announced some good news.

CBS' The Talk announced on April 18 that it will return for a 13th season. The show’s current hosts — Jerry O'Connell, Amanda Kloots, Akbar Gbajabiamila, Sheryl Underwood and moderator Natalie Morales — are all set to return, Deadline reports. And they celebrated the renewal in a photo posted to Twitter, with each holding up one finger on one hand and three on the other in reference to the upcoming Season 13:

Natalie Morales, who joined the CBS talk show for its current season, surprised viewers — and her co-hosts, too, it seems — when she announced the good news live during Monday’s show. She said:

The hosts all stood up and congratulated each other, as they received a standing ovation from the audience. Jerry O’Connell danced around the stage, swinging his jacket, before joking that “Now I know why all our bosses showed up today.” Check out the moment of merriment:

It may be good news for The Talk, but the CBS daytime hit hasn’t been without its controversies in the past year. The show saw a huge shakeup when Sharon Osbourne — the last of the show’s original hosts — was fired after multiple allegations of racism and homophobic comments. Jerry O’Connell was brought in as her replacement, and he said at the time that he looked forward to enhancing the show by having fun.

Following Sharon Osbourne’s exit last March, Carrie Ann Inaba announced in August that she and CBS had mutually agreed to part ways after three seasons. Just weeks later, Elaine Welteroth announced her exit ahead of Season 12 and was quickly replaced by Akbar Gbajabiamila. Amanda Kloots has now been on the show for two seasons, and Sheryl Underwood, who joined the show in its second year, is now its most tenured host by a longshot.

The Talk's announcement comes amid a number of moves in the realm of daytime talk shows. The Real recently announced it would not continue for a ninth season. The Jennifer Hudson Show is set to make its premiere this fall, while Hudson’s fellow American Idol alum Kelly Clarkson will take over Ellen Degeneres’ time slot when the comedian’s show comes to an end after 19 seasons.

Wendy Williams appears to be working to get back on TV, even as her talk show was canceled after 13 seasons amid ongoing questions regarding her health. After a series of guest hosts filled in for the final season of The Wendy Williams Show, the decision was made to permanently replace Williams with Sherri Shepherd, who is set to debut Sherri this fall.

Bob Saget’s friends, fans, co-stars and more have celebrated his life and mourned his death over the past several weeks. The number of stories that have come out from co-stars like John Stamos and even stories from acquaintances like Steve Harvey have been memorable and compelling. But the people most affected by the loss of the Full House star are his family, including his wife Kelly Rizzo. One month after Bob’s passing, she reached out to some people who would know what she’s going through: Nick Cordero’s wife Amanda Kloots and Katie Couric. 

In a blink-and-you-might-miss it post on Instagram Stories, Kelly Rizzo shared a night out with the gals. But this wasn’t a usual night out. Instead, she spent time with Katie Couric and Amanda Kloots, who both unexpectedly lost their husbands, too. In her post, she talks about “women who have been there and understand,” noting (via People): 

If you are familiar with Katie Couric’s story, the news anchor lost her husband Jay Monahan back in 1998 after nine years of marriage. Her partner was only 42 at the time and the two shared two children. Couric’s been open over the years about what happened when her husband was sick. She's actually been candid about being “too scared” to deal with what was happening at the time, saying it takes “extraordinary courage” to face death in an interview with People just last year. 

Of course, Amanda Kloots is notable now for starring on The Talk, but her name became known after her husband, Blue Bloods actor and Broadway star Nick Cordero, died following a bout with Covid-19 early on in the pandemic. He was one of the first notable names to pass away of complications arising from the disease, and given he was only 41 at the time of his death, the news was all-the-more striking. It seems that Rizzo and Kloots have been spending some time together in grief support; a separate post shared by The Talk star indicated the two are in a “weird club” one would never hope to be in.

At the time of that post, Rizzo had noted, "If I’m going to be in this club, I’m grateful to have genuine caring people like you by my side."  In fact, though, Amanda Kloots is an open book when it comes to her journey following Nick Cordero’s death. She posts a lot about their son, Elvis, and a post this weekend could just as easily be advice for Bob Saget’s wife as she moves forward. 

Given the recent update that Bob Saget was Covid-19 positive and had suffered from head trauma causing an injury that led to his death, Kelly Rizzo doubtless has a little more closure regarding why Saget passed away when he still seemingly had so much verve and energy.

For the Full House actor's wife, the grieving process is just started. Kelly Rizzo has been reminiscing about she and Bob Saget’s relationship and positive memories, particularly this week, as she hit the one-month milestone since news broke that Bob Saget had died at 65. The couple had met back in 2015 and married in 2018; they’d had nearly six years together and she recalled a fondness for Bob living “life to its fullest” and the two of them loving to eat out and try new things together. Having support during these times is crucial and it's nice to see others being there for her during this time.  

There's no denying that Amanda Kloots has had an extremely difficult year. After spending several months publicly documenting the struggle that her husband, Nick Cordero, was having as he tried to fight his COVID-19 diagnosis and the many resulting medical problems, she's now had to try to move on after he passed away on July 5. Now, after the tumultuous year that she's had, Kloots has landed a new fulltime gig in Hollywood as a co-host on the hit CBS daytime show The Talk.

The network announced that Amanda Kloots and award-winning journalist Elaine Welteroth will be joining The Talk as co-hosts on January 4, 2021. Both Kloots and Welteroth have acted as guest co-hosts several times throughout October and November, and they will be stepping in to replace Marie Osmond, who departed the show last season, and Eve, who announced last month that she would be leaving The Talk in December, after co-hosting for three seasons. Heather Gray and Kristin Matthews, who both serve as executive producers and showrunners on the long-running daytime show, had this to say about the addition of Kloots and Welteroth to the team:

As mentioned above, Amanda Kloots is nothing if not very willing to discuss her personal challenges with the world. When Nick Cordero was first diagnosed, Kloots quickly began keeping the actor's fans updated on his prognosis via regular Instagram posts. As his time in the hospital went on, and resulting medical issues continued to mount, Kloots not only proved herself to be a force of hope and positivity, but was also willing to admit when the situation became hard to handle and made her doubt or worry about the future.

Kloots was a constant inspiration as she fought for her husband, even while not being able to visit him in the hospital for well over two months after his initial diagnosis. It seems pretty clear that those at The Talk also saw how tough, positive and open she was during that time, and figured she'd be a pretty good fit to join Sharon Osbourne, Sheryl Underwood, Carrie Ann Inaba and fellow incoming co-host Elaine Welteroth. As you might imagine, Kloots is very excited about her new gig, and took to Instagram to share her feelings about joining The Talk:

During an early November guest co-hosting spot on The Talk, Amanda Kloots spoke about how difficult it's been to get through "the markers" as each month passes since Cordero's death, but the former Broadway dancer was also able to admit that she was glad to be there, because it's easier when she keeps busy. So, it's truly lucky that Kloots now has this amazing opportunity to help carry her through.

Actor Nick Cordero tragically died on July 5, 2020 due to complications from COVID-19, after a months-long battle with the illness. Now, months after his passing, Amanda Kloots celebrated her husband’s 42nd birthday by sharing a video and touching message on social media.

Amanda Kloots shared a lot with Nick Cordero’s fans, both before and after his death. She has continued to do so as she processes her grief over her husband and the father of their young son, Elvis. In honor of Cordero’s 42nd birthday, Kloots took to Instagram, starting her message by writing:

The birthday message from Amanda Kloots comes after she previously shared a poignant family video that her sister had made for her. It has been a trying year for Kloots, who fiercely supported her husband as he struggled from the aftermath of contracting COVID-19. Since his passing, Kloots has celebrated her and her husband’s tragically-shortened relationship.

For her husband's 42nd birthday, Amanda Kloots shared that her and Nick Cordero’s son, Elvis, will be singing for him on Earth. A few months ago, Kloots had shared a video of Elvis saying his first words.

Broadway star Nick Cordero, who also had a role on CBS’ Blue Bloods, had been fighting for his life since late March before his death in early July. Throughout it all, Amanda Kloots faithfully documented her husband’s highs and lows. Sylvester Stallone was among those to send supportive messages to the actor when he woke up from his coma. As for Kloots, Cordero has never been far from her social media posts.

Upon the one-month anniversary of his death, Amanda Kloots paid tribute to the late star. She has also documented her journey moving into a new home without her husband. Check out Kloots’ full post in honor of her husband's birthday below:

In her post, Amanda Kloots included a picture and a video (slide to the right) from Nick Cordero’s 41st birthday, only a year ago. As you can see in Kloots’ moving post, Cordero appeared to be a picture of health. It is terribly sad to know that only six months later, Cordero would come down with a life-ending case of coronavirus.

Captioning the birthday video, Amanda Kloots recalled that Nick Cordero had mentioned how blessed he was after blowing out his birthday candles just a year ago. In her Instagram stories, Kloots had shared that the day before Cordero’s birthday marked their first anniversary in Los Angeles. The couple had moved their family to California.

Amanda Kloots lived in Zach Braff's guest house while Nick Cordero was battling the coronavirus. Now, she has spent his birthday in a new house. Blue Bloods actor and Broadway star Nick Cordero died in July following coronavirus complications. For months prior to his death, his wife Amanda Kloots offered all kinds of ups-and-downs updates concerning his health progress, and she has remained connected with fans even after. On the one-month anniversary of his passing, Kloots posted an emotional tribute to social media. More recently, she documented moving into a new home that Cordero bought for them before his extended hospital stay, and Kloots also updated fans on picking up Cordero’s ashes.

To say that Amanda Kloots has had it rough over the last several months would be an understatement. In an Instagram story, Kloots revealed that things have been hard for her recently and that she’s felt like she “can’t even function.” However, in the month or so since Nick Cordero's death, Kloots says she’s been supported a lot by her brother and sister-in-law. Later on, she relayed what it felt like to pick up Cordero’s cremated ashes. Here’s what she said:

That’s pretty heartbreaking. It’s pretty clear to see how much Amanda Kloots loved her husband and how much his death has impacted her, which will likely be the case for a while. That said, the advice her friend offered is indeed beautiful, because having his ashes is almost like having a piece of him there with her. Losing a loved one is incredibly difficult, but Kloots seems to be doing her best to keep herself and their son Elvis happy.

In an Instagram post, Amanda Kloots also shared the news that she and the aforementioned one-year-old Elvis had officially moved into their new home. Alongside the caption, she revealed why the home was so special to her, especially in the wake of Nick Cordero’s death. In her words:

Amanda Kloots included a sweet picture of herself alongside her late husband and son on the day they first got the keys to their new home. At the time, the house hadn’t been renovated, but Kloots said she wanted to document what things looked like before and after everything was settled. Take a look at the photo below.

Blue Bloods and theater actor Nick Cordero died on July 5 following a turbulent battle with COVID-19. The late actor had multiple health setbacks and was hospital-bound for months, but many had hoped he’d make it through. Now, Amanda Kloots is paying tribute to her late husband on the one-month anniversary of his tragic death.

Amanda Kloots he took to Instagram once more to post a heartfelt and emotional message addressed to the late actor on this mournful anniversary. Here’s what Kloots wrote:

Amanda Kloots was by her husband’s side through the good and bad days of his illness, at least metaphorically speaking during the span when she wasn't able to do so in person. After Nick Cordero hit the 90-day hospital mark, Kloots said she “broke big time,” but nevertheless tried to stay strong through the ordeal while caring for son Elvis and providing social media updates on Cordero’s condition. When Cordero passed, it was Kloots who broke the news.

When that news went public, a number of celebrities (Hamilton’s Lin-Manuel Miranda, Viola Davis, Zach Braff, and more) reacted to Nick Cordero's death online and expressed heartbreak and sadness. The outpouring of love was emotional and you could see how adored Cordero was amongst his friends and colleagues, as well as how much of an impact he made on each of their lives.

Accompanying the one-month anniversary tribute was a picture of Amanda Kloots with Nick Cordero taken during much happier times, with the pair smiling at the camera and embracing. Take a look at the sweet photo below.

Prior to Nick Cordero’s death, the Bullets Over Broadway actor was undergoing stem cell treatment and there were some positive signs at the time. When he was first admitted to the hospital, doctors misdiagnosed him with pneumonia. He was later placed in a medically induced coma, had his leg amputated, and later needed a temporary pacemaker placed inside his heart, beyond also suffering from holes in his lungs. He was also put on dialysis for his kidneys to continue functioning. It was really rough going, but Amanda Kloots and never lost hope. When Cordero succumbed to COVID-19 complications, Kloots and his mother were by his side.

Nick Cordero’s battle with COVID-19 was a story that caught the attention of many in Hollywood. Unfortunately, his months-long bout with the virus came to a tragic end, but many people across the industry have since come together to pay tribute to him and rally around his loved ones. His wife, Amanda Kloots, was very candid about her husband’s struggles and never hesitated to share the highs and lows. As Amanda Kloots mentions, the fact that young Elvis can still recognize his father, without having seen him in months, is remarkable. And there’s something incredibly special about the fact that it was his memory of his father that apparently led to his first words. It honestly just makes the young boy’s milestone all the more bittersweet.

In the weeks following her husband’s death, Amanda Kloots has taken the time to update the public on the state of her family. She used one Instagram post to detail the memorial service that was held for Nick Cordero and, based on her description, it was a more than fitting celebration of life.

Kloots has also shared a number of memories of her husband through some heartfelt videos. The videos, which were both made by Kloots’ sister, highlighted the couple’s extended family and chronicled their relationship from the very beginning.

As mentioned, Amanda Kloots has also opened up about what life is now like for her and young Elvis, as they move forward. She’s admitted that the prospect of moving on without her husband is scary. Nevertheless, she’s found strength in her husband’s memory and believes that he’s routing for her and their son to succeed and power through their new reality.

Elvis Cordero’s first words are one of the memories that Amanda Kloots will have to experience without Nick Cordero, and it goes without saying that she would have preferred for him to be there when it happened. Regardless, Kloots doesn’t seem to be letting the negatives weigh her down.

It’s going to take time for Amanda Kloots and Elvis to adjust to things, but they seem to be going strong so far. And let’s hope that things stay positive for them as they continue to move forward.

Naturally, Sylvester Stallone inserted his own Rocky reference into the video by telling Nick Cordero he has the "eye of the tiger," recalling the theme song used in Rocky III. The fact that "Eye of the Tiger" was crafted by the band Survivor is certainly fitting for these circumstances, too.

Sylvester Stallone continued with his message, saying:

Nick Cordero likely won't be up for handling any physical punching for the near future, of course, but that kind of support will likely be welcomed during the recovery process. The actor's chances of survival seemed fairly grim during his extended comatose state, as complications kept arising, from the leg amputation (due to blot clotting) to holes forming in his lungs and more. Through it all, wife Amanda Kloots kept her faith up and regularly provided updates for friends, family members and fans to keep up with. And thankfully, all that optimism paid off, with Rocky Balboa himself there to metaphorically raise Cordero's arm in victory.

The day has finally come for fans of Broadway star and Blue Bloods recurring actor Nick Cordero to start cheering. The talented entertainer has reportedly woken up from his comatose state after close to a month of being under, as connected to complications from his COVID-19 diagnosis. This huge update was expectedly announced by Cordero's wife Amanda Kloots, who has been lovingly meticulous about keeping the entertainer's fanbase fully informed about his health. That said, Cordero's struggles sadly aren't over yet.

While Nick Cordero is indeed awake, according to Amanda Kloots, his body still has a long way to go before he'll be back to full strength. Here's how she stated things during her Instagram Live update:

Understandably, Nick Cordero regaining his consciousness is just one piece of the health puzzle. He's apparently able to open his eyes and take in what people are doing and saying in front of him, and though it's a bit of a limited scope, he is able to move his eyes up and down.

Nick Cordero isn't able to move his head around just yet, unfortunately, and also isn't able to verbally communicate with others by talking. That said, his recovery signs are definitely a step in the right direction, and it may only be a matter of time before he starts regaining some of those faculties.

For now, though, Amanda Kloots says that helping Nick Cordero get past this initially weakened state is the goal for the nearest future. In her words:

Going through physical therapy will no doubt be a challenge for Cordero, who was initially diagnosed with pneumonia. The medications he was given resulted in blood clots in his leg, and while he was in a medically induced coma, physicians had to amputate the limb. While he should have woken up at some point after that, Cordero remained unconscious for longer than anyone expected. Other complications led to the need for a temporary pacemaker, as well as lots of fluid-drainage from his lungs, which developed holes in them.

Through it all, though, Amanda Kloots has kept her optimism up, even when things got exceedingly intense and emotional. Her happiness over the matter is perhaps summed up best by the following assertion:

Now that Nick Cordero has regained consciousness, Amanda Kloots jokingly brought up that friends and fans would need to change the social media rallying cry "#WakeUpNick" to the more declarative "#NickIsWoke," and then put that hashtag to good use with another post, as seen below.

Here's hoping it's only good news from here on out for Nick Cordero and Amanda Kloots. He probably won't be hopping back into any roles on Blue Bloods or Law & Order: SVU anytime soon, but how great would it be if some of his first words during recovery are from one of the musicals he starred in? Considering his family has been staying at Scrubs' vet Zack Braff's guest house, maybe he and Braff could have a duet while harmonizing the Sanford and Son theme.

Blue Bloods actor Nick Cordero has been fighting for his life due to complications of coronavirus since mid-April, and his wife, Amanda Kloots, has kept fans and followers updated on his status. While there were previous concerns that he wasn't waking from his medically-induced coma as early as expected and he continued to suffer further complications, Kloots was able to share some very good news that she describes as a "huge deal."

Amanda Kloots updated those who have been following her husband's situation on the "huge deal" with an Instagram story, saying this (via ET):

Nick Cordero may not be fully awake and alert after his coma, but following commands is definitely not something he was reportedly capable of doing not so long ago. This comes as good news after several weeks of discouraging updates, starting with the amputation of his leg and then progressing with the insertion of a pacemaker, holes in his lungs, and more.

Despite the bad news that preceded the "huge deal" of Nick Cordero beginning to follow commands, Amanda Kloots explained why she has been able to remain so hopeful. Her husband did begin showing early signs of waking up last week, and she even shared the last photo they took before he was hospitalized.

All of this said, Amanda Kloots was clear that Nick Cordero still has some big challenges ahead in his recovery process. She's keeping some "big, big goals" in mind, including moving Cordero off of dialysis and off of ventilators. Still, this latest development comes after Cordero looked up and looked down when Kloots asked him to on Mother's Day, according to Kloots in another Instagram video.

While the past several weeks have of course been difficult for Nick Cordero, Amanda Kloots, and their family, Kloots' updates on social media resulted in a large number of people showing support and becoming invested in this rare personal window into the complications of coronavirus. Kloots has also been able to stay in Scrub star Zach Braff's guest house in Los Angeles, as Braff and Cordero are friends.

Hopefully Nick Cordero will continue to make progress in his recovery. He was originally hospitalized for pneumonia, but later tested positive for COVID-19 as one of many in the industry diagnosed with coronavirus.

Blue Bloods and popular Tony nominated Broadway actor Nick Cordero has been dealing with a harrowing ordeal since he was diagnosed with coronavirus and went into the ER at the tail end of March. As of this weekend, he’s spent nearly 40 days in the ICU and Kloots shared an update on all of the stuff the actor has been through, as well as shared a look back at the last picture they took as a family before he was diagnosed.

In a message accompanying the image, Kloots details all of Nick Cordero’s health struggles in recent months, including a leg amputation, a sepsis infection, mini strokes and more. Zach Braff has apparently been hosting Amanda Kloots and family while Nick Cordero has been hospitalized and a whole host of people are donating money to help this family during this time. A Bronx Tale co-star to create “virus protection kits” with a portion of the money going to Kloots and her son. An additional Go Fund Me account has also been setup.

Although, while Kloots has striven to stay positive and “hopeful” during this ordeal, there has been a lot of bad news that she’s had to deal with. As of late last week, the actor had shown “early signs” of Nick Cordero possibly awaking from his medically-induced coma. Amanda Kloots said the doctor saw this as “just a great sign.”

Yet, at the time of this writing, the actor has not awoken from the coma and there’s no update on what’s next for the actor in terms of a timeline regarding his hopeful recovery. Last week, Amanda Kloots told GMA she sits outside of the hospital every day in her car, just staying positive for Nick's sake. She's also been open and honest on social media about the myriad feelings she's been going through as part of this rollercoaster. She recently shared on Instagram Live that she was hoping her husband would wake up in time for Mother’s Day, as well, noting,

Here’s wishing Amanda Kloots well on Mother’s Day as she deals with the challenges of Nick Cordero’s hospital stay alongside raising their 10-month-old Elvis. She’s previously thanked her brother and sister for helping her through this struggle, but it’s bound to have been a long nearly-40 days now for the fitness trainer and really, anyone who knows Nick Cordero on a personal level.

Nick Cordero of Blue Bloods fame has been suffering from complications of COVID-19 for the past several weeks, and his wife, Amanda Kloots, has continually shared updates on her husband’s status. Many of those updates haven’t delivered very good news, but Kloots has been surprisingly positive as she shares the latest on Cordero. Now, Kloots has explained how she can believe that her husband will recover despite everything.

Speaking with Gayle King on CBS This Morning, Amanda Kloots explained her infectious belief and optimism in this difficult time when Nick Cordero is so ill:

Despite circumstances that might understandably lead somebody to feel pessimistic and hopeless, Amanda Kloots has chosen to view the situation from a half-glass full perspective and believe in the options rather than look at it in a less optimistic light. She’s certainly correct that there are a lot of people following Nick Cordero’s story and hoping for good news, as proved by the reactions to her Instagram posts about her family’s journey.

Sadly, her updates haven’t all been positive. Back in April, she revealed that Nick Cordero should have woken from his coma, which was medically-induced. Her update about his leg amputation and pacemaker insertion shed some light on the treatment he’s undergoing. Earlier this month, she reported the extent of his lung damage.

Fortunately, Scrubs actor Zach Braff of all people was able to explain at least one way that Nick Cordero and Amanda Kloots’ family have caught a bit of a break. Apparently, the family has been staying in Braff’s Los Angeles guest house.

Speaking with THR, Zach Braff shared that although he’s staying socially distant from the family, “we bring them food and wine and flowers.” Braff confirmed that Nick Cordero counts as one of his “best friends in the world,” and the family has been living in his guest house for seven months while house-hunting in L.A. Amanda Kloots can evidently count the Scrubs star as one of the army of people behind her husband!

We can only hope that Amanda Kloots will soon be able to deliver some good news about Nick Cordero’s health, and that he will indeed be able to share his side of the story. As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to have effects on the world, many people, including celebrities, continue to be diagnosed. Several notable stars have had dealt with the disease, with some of them recovering from it. Unfortunately, Blue Bloods star Nick Cordero has been having a serious battle with the virus.

Nick Cordero has been fighting for his life against the coronavirus. Since his diagnosis last month, his wife, Amanda Kloots, has been keeping the public updated on his health through regular Instagram posts. Having been sick for a while, Cordero was initially misdiagnosed with pneumonia but was later said to have COVID-19. Upon entering the hospital, he was admitted to the ICU where he was unconscious as he received oxygen.

The doctors later lost a pulse on Nick Cordero and needed to resuscitate him. According to Kloots, the doctors also asked permission to put him on dialysis to assist with his kidneys.

Not long after, Amanda Kloots revealed that her husband had to go in for emergency surgery to save the blood flow to his leg. In a more recent post, Kloots stated that the blood flow to his leg has still been an issue, and it’s now being reported that he will have to have his right leg amputated.

Nick Cordero is known to many as a consistent presence on stage, having performed in various plays and musicals like Bullets Over Broadway, A Bronx Tale and Rock of Ages. The first of those three actually earned him a Tony nomination for Best Featured Actor in a Musical. On the small screen, he’s best known to Blue Bloods for his role as Victor Lugo, a role that he's played in two seasons.

To say that this is a tragic situation would be an understatement. We can all agree that it’s never easy to see a loved one have to deal with so much, and doing so can be physically and emotionally taxing. While it’s hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel, it’s good to know Amanda Kloots has been by Cordero’s side every step of the way.

Kloot’s desire to stay by her husband’s side is similar to that of Idris Elba’s wife, Sabrina. She chose to stay with him after he was diagnosed and eventually contracted the virus herself. While the Elba’s experience with COVID-19 is nowhere as severe as Nick Cordero and Amanda Kloot’s the sense of love and loyalty is consistent.

Both Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson also contracted the disease around the same time and were forced to quarantine together in Australia. Although the recovery wasn’t easy for either one, they would try to remain upbeat and provide updates on their health statuses when possible.
