Critics can be a rough lot, and that’s something important to always keep in mind when evaluating not just the 2025 movies, but any sort of filmed entertainment in the foreseeable future. The tendency exists for clever, brutal reviews to pop up when something is universally skewered. So far, early reactions to Amy Schumer’s potential Netflix subscription-driving comedy Kinda Pregnant have lived up to that wisdom.

While we’re clearly in the early phases of reactions to director Tyler Spindel’s new rom-com, there has been anything but bliss in the evaluations that have popped up. The new comedy has been torn to shreds nearly across the board.

MovieWeb’s write-up, from critic George Edelman, addresses an early moment setting up the story's crux is apparently all one needs to know if they’re ready for Kinda Pregnant. Let's just say that even with an open mind, there are plenty of doubts that this flick will be known as one of the best rom-coms of all time with a synopsis like this:

It’s a good thing that this Will Forte co-starring effort isn’t the only new title arriving on February 2025’s first week of streaming debuts ahead of Valentine's Day. One could imagine a lot of grumpy viewers taking to social media with threats to cancel their accounts after being hypothetically bamboozled into what looked like a fresh romantic laugh fest.

I’d totally believe that kind of gaslighting to be a possibility, thanks to William Bibbiani over at The Wrap wasting no time in his review, which goes for the throat in his opening paragraph. And the picture certainly doesn’t recover at any point after these thoughts:

Trust us when we tell you that this isn’t merely a parade of snarky zingers. In fact, THR’s review for Kinda Pregnant highlighted where the key disappointments seemed to stem from. As critic Lovia Gyarkye cites, the main engine that’s supposed to drive the laughs isn’t quite firing on all cylinders.

Perhaps the harshest cut of all against Kinda Pregnant came from critic Adrian Horton. Covering the movie in her rundown for The Guardian, Horton invoked a very common criticism when it comes to streaming originals:

At this point, things look pretty dire for Amy Schumer and her work on Kinda Pregnant. But at this point, we need to keep in mind that streaming movies don’t always make their bones with the critics. Also, as previously stated, we're early in the reaction cycle for this project, so the tide could turn as more reviews go online.

Even then, viewers tastes don’t always align with the professionals, and it’s going to come down to your own mindset when deciding if this story is right for you. Audience scores do tend to rise higher than critics'. So before we put this baby to bed, take a look at the trailer for Kinda Pregnant, and take it as your cue to make up your own mind on whether you’ll roll the dice:

If that looks like your type of movie, then Kinda Pregnant is waiting for you to rock the cradle with laughter on Netflix. Who knows? You might discover a fresh entry that deserves to be on the list of best Amy Schumer lines, and it could be a good time!

That being said, if you happen to take the chance and dislike the results, then Immaculate and The First Omen are waiting for you to cleanse your palette. Provided that you have a Hulu subscription, of course. Can't keep all the movie babies in one nursery.

February is getting underway and while the month may be short in terms of days, it’s not starting out that way in terms of content. As per usual what’s coming soon on Netflix and what’s upcoming on Disney+ tend to dominate the conversation, but if you’re interested in watching Super Bowl LIX, get ready, because the game won’t be on either of them (or most other major streaming platforms).

Kinda Pregnant - February 5 (Netflix)

If you’re a fan who’s been looking forward to her next project, and you have a Netflix subscription, wait no longer. Schumer stars in Kinda Pregnant, a single woman who pretends to be pregant in order to get the same attention as her pregnant friend, only to then meet the man of her dreams.

Invincible, Season 3 - February 6 (Prime Video)

Superhero media is still the king of all content, but not all of it is fun for the whole family. A Prime Video subscription gives you the home of subversive superheroes thanks to the success of both The Boys in live-action and Robert Kirkman’s animated Invincible. The latter show launches its third season this week.

The Kardashians, Season 6 - February 6 (Hulu)

For years millions of people have continued to try to keep up with the Kardashians. The new version of the reality show may only be in Season 6, but the reality show franchise has run for more than 25. If this is something you’re waiting for I don’t need to sell you on it, and if it isn’t nothing I can say matters anyway.

The Lion King at the Hollywood Bowl - February 7 (Disney+)

If the box office for Mufasa: The Lion King tells us anything, it’s that people all over the world still really love The Lion King. If what you really love is the music, then you’ll likely love The Lion King at the Hollywood Bowl. This recorded performance of a live event brings together numerous talents, from both the animated and “live-action” versions of the story to perform music from the films and the popular Broadway show.

Super Bowl LIX - February 9 (Tubi)

The biggest television evet of most years arrives this week, and just as so many other traditionally live television broadcasts are available streaming now, the Super Bowl will be no different. The game will be broadcast on Fox, which means that, in a somewhat odd move, the game will air on Fox’s little promoted free streaming service, Tubi. The good news is that this means it won’t cost you anything, though you will need to open a free account to watch the game.

There's plenty of differences between today's 12-year-olds and how Amy Schumer grew up, the comic joked in her Emergency Contact special for Netflix. For one, when she was a pre-teen, they didn't have "have oat milk, or almond milk, or Erewhon," but instead lived off of regular old, fart-inducing dairy.

In her HBO special Amy Schumer: Live at the Apollo, Schumer jokes that when she's in Los Angeles — a city that stereotypically has a preoccupation with beauty and youth — a passersby confuse her with "an octopus" because of the normal size of her limbs.

In her first HBO stand-up special Amy Schumer: Live at the Apollo, the actress-comedian recounts how the studio hired a personal trainer — a real-deal one who "trains all the Hemsworthses and, um, like, Megan Fox and, like, an actual fox" — to get her in shape for her leading film role in Trainwreck.

While making her debut as a host of Saturday Night Live in 2015, Schumer poked fun at the famous Kardashians clan and the outsized effect the siblings have on beauty standards during her opening monologue.

Never one to shy away from edgy subject matter or taboo topics, Schumer joked about both her drinking habits and her eventful dating life in her HBO special Amy Schumer: Live at the Apollo. Alas, it seems like this was one relationship that simply wasn't meant to be.

Amy Schumer is not one to hold back when it comes to shamelessly delivering stories from her personal life. Not only is a certain level of vulnerability necessary for the art of stand-up comedy, of which she is a nearly two-decade veteran, but her work in film and television has been noticeably autobiographical. She’s continued this trend with Hulu’s Life & Beth, which she writes, produces and stars in as the titular character. As she recently confessed in our interview, this is her most personal work to date, and she has gone out of her way to include the cringiest stories from her life as a form of therapy. 

If there’s one thing you need to know about Life & Beth, it’s that these stories are lifted from Schumer’s personal life. Don’t be fooled by the title, as Beth is even her middle name. When CinemaBlend caught up with her about Life & Beth Season 2, I asked if there were stories that she considered to be too cringey for the show, and she admitted that making the audience cringe was the whole point:

It’s no secret that pure vulnerability within your art is a way to shed any shame one might be holding on to, and in the case of Life & Beth, the result really is a beautifully told, and relatable story. She also mentioned that these stories are just as much “painful” as they are cringey, which is fitting given some of the show’s subject matter. 

Life & Beth tackles such issues as Schumer's complicated relationship with her father, flashes back to traumatic experiences from childhood, and even addresses her fiancé John’s (played by Michael Cera) Autism diagnosis in Season 2. This obviously echoes her experiences with her actual husband, who is on the autism spectrum. The point is, this show is Amy Schumer at her realest. 

Not that this is new to Schumer. As previously mentioned, she has been getting real with audiences her whole career. One of the first things we learned about Trainwreck, the film that launched her into superstardom, was that it was also autobiographical. There were plenty of bits that didn’t make the final cut, but this may have been due to their filthy, NSFW nature given the film’s notoriously raunchy humor.

Then, of course, there’s Inside Amy Schumer, which not only won Schumer an Emmy, but allowed her to once again therapeutically poke fun at her personal life. With the revival of the show, she even started writing sketches that dealt with motherhood and marriage, once again showing how her art is largely dictated by what the comedian is truthfully going through at the moment. 

Life & Beth Season 2 premieres on the 2024 TV schedule on Hulu in its entirety today, February 16! Yes, it may be cringey, but in the best of ways. The show is heartfelt and real, and I will continue to sing its praises in hopes of having another delightful conversation with Amy Schumer and Michael Cera, part of which you can view at the top of this article. It’s hard to believe that Barbie was going to be a completely different movie than what we were given. In the beginning, Sony Pictures was going to headline the Mattel Inc. doll on the big screen with Amy Schumer on the way to crushing the title role. With Margot Robbie ultimately taking on Stereotypical Barbie instead, the stand-up comedian has shared who she’d like to play in Greta Gerwig’s Barbie universe, and now I wish she made a cameo in the Oscar-nominated flick.

Barbie included a lot of cameo appearances from well-known faces. We saw singer Dua Lipa and wrestler John Cena as Mermaid Barbies, Ryan Piers Williams played Gloria's husband to his real-life wife America Ferrera, and Academy Award-winning costume designer Ann Roth played the Woman on the Bench in a popular scene that was almost cut. Since Amy Schumer was very close to playing Barbie, it would have been great if she was one of the cameos for Greta Gerwig’s movie. In an interview with ET, the Trainwreck actress declares exactly who she’d be perfect for if the Warner Bros. movie spawned a sequel.

Being Allan’s Barbie wouldn’t exactly be what I would picture her playing since Barbie is all about not attaching yourself to a man. But at least if she was in connection to Michael Cera’s Allan, I’d like to believe it would have expanded his role a little and we’d see the Life & Beth stars reunite. Her chemistry with Cera in the Hulu series portraying Schumer’s real-life relationship with her husband was so genuine and sweet to watch. A little humorous flirty bantering between the two in Barbieland wouldn’t have been such a bad thing to watch.

Compared to the finalized Barbie plot that saw the main character choosing to leave Barbieland for an agenda of her own, the initial plot had everyone’s favorite doll kicked out of Barbieland for not being perfect enough. Three months later, the live-action movie suffered a major setback when Amy Schumer decided to drop out of the project. 

While her previous reasoning was due to scheduling conflicts, the Inside Amy Schumer star says she bailed on the comedy film because of creative differences. Barbie’s first big-screen appearance was apparently not as feminist as the version we’ve gotten. I can understand that since Margot Robbie’s version portrayed the popular doll as flawless. Schumer’s Barbie probably would have gone with tropes typical to what the Last Comic Standing contestant has done before with physical comedy and honest humor. 

It’s a shame that Amy Schumer couldn’t have a cameo in Barbie even though she dropped out of being the film’s lead. But if a sequel eventually comes into play, maybe she can get her wish of being Allan’s Barbie or play another type of Barbie within Barbieland.

There is no genre more near and dear to my heart than comedy. The skills necessary to make others laugh -- whether live and in-person or through a screen -- are a unique and beautiful combination that should be protected at all costs. Some artists are able to do so without leaning in to touchy subjects or cursing, while others go all the way to really earn that R rating. The tactics may differ, but the end goal is the same, to bring others joy through jokes. 

Many comedians see movies as the apex of a potential career, but most don't start out their careers in Hollywood. Many grow first through either stand-up comedy or sketch comedy. This list honors them. Here's a look back at famous actors who started in either the stand-up or sketch comedy world and went on to bigger screens.

Rainn Wilson

Known as arguably one of the best characters on the hit show The Office, Rainn Wilson got his start in the arts in New York City where he studied acting at NYU. He went on to do theater both off and on Broadway as well as sketch comedy. He even did a post-modern clown show before getting his big break on the show Six Feet Under in 2001. 

Whoopi Goldberg

Whoopi Goldberg got her start by studying drama in New York, where she landed a few stage performances before trying her hand at stand-up comedy. Like many others on this list, her comedy routine -- "The Spook Show" -- caught the attention of Oscar-winning director Mike Nichols, who helped get the young comedian to Broadway. She eventually landed her first film in Steven Spielberg's film The Color Purple, for which she earned an Oscar nomination in 1986. 

Steve Buscemi

The veteran character actor made his acting debut in 1985, but also tried his hand at stand-up comedy. Eventually, Busemi decided he "wasn't funny enough," and switched to acting instead. Buscemi has since starred in popular movies including Fargo, Resevoir Dogs, and the hit HBO Max show Boardwalk Empire.

Emma Thompson

If you're looking for a stand-up with some serious credentials, look no further than Emma Thompson. Winner of two Academy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, two British Academy Film Awards, a British Academy Television Award and a Primetime Emmy Award, the talented actor got her start in stand-up while in Cambridge. 

John Candy

Arguably one of the greatest comedy legends to ever live, John Candy led a fascinating life, getting his big break after joining the ensemble of SCTV — which is, essentially, the Canadian equivalent to SNL. In 1989, the star even added radio personality to his resume. The LA Times did a whole write-up of his syndicated, two-hour program, Radio Kandy, which sounds wild and apparently included rock music and comedy sketches featuring some of his former SCTV co-stars.

Mo'Nique

Mo'Nique started her comedy career with stand-up, heading to It's Showtime at the Apollo and Def Comedy Jam before eventually landing a leading role on TV's The Parkers. The comedian took her acting to the next level in 2009's Precious, for which she won an Academy Award.

Steve Carell

A versatile actor with numerous groundbreaking performances in both television and film, Steve Carrell was once a legend at Second City in Chicago who went on to land his dream job working on the ill-fated Dana Carvey Show, which you can learn about in Too Funny To Fail, one of the best comedy documentaries to date. Known best for his role as Michael Scott in the U.S. adaptation of The Office, Carell eventually went on to become a leading man in both comedies and dramas. 

Michael Keaton

To put himself through college where he studied acting, Michael Keaton worked as a cab and ice cream truck driver, and it wasn't until 1975 that he officially debuted on television. He did some stand-up comedy in his early 20s, which he recounted in an interview with Ellen, but he eventually found the right calling with movies.

Tina Fey

Known for her work on the smash hit show 30 Rock, Tina Fey got her start in acting at Second City which quickly led to a job at Saturday Night Live as notably one of the only female writers at the time. She got her break co-hosting Weekend Update and later went on to be a huge star in Hollywood. 

Jamie Foxx

It all started with a dare from a girlfriend to try his hand at an open mic. Flash forward some years and that performance led Jamie Foxx to multiple awards, including two Academy Awards, double digit Grammys, and three Golden Globe Awards, all while showing a versatile ability to crush performances across multiple genres and artistic art forms.

John Cleese

Coming from the United Kingdom, John Cleese is a British comic actor best known for his television work on Monty Python’s Flying Circus and Fawlty Towers. Cleese began writing and performing in comedy revues at Clifton College in Bristol, England, and was a member of the renowned Footlights Club while a law student at the University of Cambridge. He is best known for his work with Monty Pythion, namely Monty Python And The Holy Grail. 

Ricky Gervais

Ricky Gervais went to school at Ashmead Comprehensive School before going on to study at University College, London, where he gained a degree in Philosophy. After university, Gervais attempted to pursue a pop career with Seona Dancing, a synth-pop duo he formed with a fellow student. After forming a writing partnership with Stephen Merchant, he would go on to land his breakout role on The Office, premiering in 2001. In between all his acting gigs, he's performed plenty of stand-up and has multiple Netflix specials. 

Eddie Murphy

Growing up in Brooklyn, New York, SNL star Eddie Murphy began performing his own comedy routines at 15. In 1980, the work of the soon-to-be comedy legend caught the attention of Saturday Night Live producers. In 1982, Murphy landed his first leading role in the film, 48 Hrs, which led to multiple leads in classics such as Beverly Hills Cop and Coming to America. He went on to earn an Oscar nomination for Dreamgirls and truly set the bar by playing six characters in the 1996 smash hit, The Nutty Professor. His '80s comedy specials are still discussed today. 

Amy Schumer

Amy Schumer is certainly better known these days for her work in numerous films including the fantastic Trainwreck, but most of those career opportunity doors opened through her stand-up comedy. She built a name for herself through her work on the live mic before mostly switching to movies.

Chris Rock

An SNL vet, Chris Rock's comedy career began in 1984 at 19 when he took the stage in the New York City club Catch a Rising Star. His performance ended up catching the eye of future comedy legend Eddie Murphy, who had been watching his act. Murphy would become a huge presence in Rock's life and served as a mentor, giving him his first break with a role in Beverly Hills Cop II.

Ron Perlman

Known for very courageous roles such as Clay Morrow on the FX show Sons Of Anarchy, Ron Perlman said his ventures as a stand-up comedian ended after a heckling exchange in the Bronx escalated and he retreated out of the venue through the back door, which seems like a strange move for such an intimidating man. 

Robin Williams

Arguably one of the best comedians of all-time, Robin Williams studied acting at the Juilliard School, which he later dropped out of to devote himself entirely to stand-up comedy before making the leap to television and movies. Known for his high energy and skillful impressions, he himself has inspired other actors to reenact some of his most dramatic real-life moments in honor of the late comedian. 

Patton Oswalt

The Prince of Queens, Patton Oswalt went from struggling in the comedy world to writing for the sketch comedy show MADtv and earning his own comedy special on HBO. He continued to impress critics and fans alike, with roles such as the voice of the lead character Remy the Rat in the Pixar film, Ratatouille. 

Richard Pryor

Unfortunately, tragedy and comedy often go hand-in-hand. Such is the case with arguably one of the genre's biggest icons, the late, great, Richard Pryor. The legend had a tough life growing up and eventually joined the military before playing nightclubs as both a musician and comedian at age 23. His comedy career was populated with milestones and achievements, as well as struggles and substance abuse before passing away in 2005 due to complications from M.S..  

Bette Midler

Bette Midler landed her first Broadway role in Fiddler on the Roof by 1966, four years before trying her hand at stand-up comedy. In 1972, she released the album The Divine Miss M, which earned her a Grammy Award, and she started making frequent appearances on late-night television shows and eventually a huge acting career. Along the way, she performed live comedy and even released an album.

Norm Macdonald

Norm Macdonald's first job was writing for The Dennis Miller Show and then Roseanne. While writing on the show, he was noticed by Lorne Michaels, who liked Norm's stand up so much that he offered the young comedian a job on Saturday Night Live in 1993.

Jim Carrey

Jim Carrey, who is easily considered one of the greats, was himself taken under the wing of another comedy legend, Rodney Dangerfield, who spotted the young comic in a Toronto nightclub. Carrey eventually made it to The Tonight Show which led to his role on In Living Color and parts in many comedy classics that we know and love today, such as Dumb and Dumber, The Mask, and Ace Ventura. 

Tim Allen

Tim Allen started his career as a comedian in 1975 in a pretty peculiar way. On a dare from one of his friends, he participated in a comedy night at Mark Ridley's Comedy Castle in Royal Oak, outside of Detroit. Following his release from prison in 1981 for a drug-related crime, he returned to comedy and went on to lead the hit show Home Improvement on ABC. 

Steve Martin

From community theater, to Disneyland, to the big screen, Steve Martin began his showbiz career as a teenager. After writing his own comedy routines, plays, and music, he went on to study philosophy and poetry before winning his first Emmy Award for comedy writing on The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour at the young age of 23.

Lily Tomlin

Initially studying biology at Wayne State University, Lily Tomlin decided to audition for a play which led to her changing her major to theatre and diving into stand-up comedy. Her stand-up was so impressive that it attracted the attention of the producers of Laugh-In, the notorious 1960s sketch comedy show. Tomlin went on to snag an Oscar nomination for her acting work.

Dana Carvey

One of SNL's most talented and beloved alumni, Dana Carvey absolutely dominated during his six seasons on Saturday Night Live, creating some of the show's most memorable characters. He never drifted far from stand-up though and has continued to take the stage and release specials.

Tom Hanks

Tom Hanks took the weirdest route to stand-up of anyone on this list. He was already in Hollywood and establishing a nice career when he decided to audition for a movie about stand-up comedy called Punchline. As part of that process, he developed his own stand-up routine and performed in clubs. There's even footage of it that trends every now and again.

Bob Odenkirk

Starting out as a D.J. in Illinois, Bob Odenkirk got his start in local improv workshops in Chicago, where he also did open-mic stand-up comedy for several years. In Chicago, he became friends with Robert Smigel, who would later help him become a writer for Saturday Night Live.

Larry David

Starting out in stand-up comedy, Larry David befriended Jerry Seinfeld and later went on to co-create Seinfeld. He also wrote for Friday's and Saturday Night Live and famously went on to create the all-time ridiculous show Curb Your Enthusiasm. 

Ed Helms

Ed Helms was studying improv with the Upright Citizens Brigade when he got his big break as a correspondent on Comedy Central's The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. He later moved on to the hit NBC show The Office where he played Andy Bernard. From there, Helms went on to star in The Hangover trilogy. More importantly, he also acted in Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie.

Mel Brooks

There aren't many names in the world of comedy that stand larger than Mel Brooks. The legend started his career in stand-up before working as a writer for Sid Caesar's variety show Your Show of Shows from 1950 to 1954. After that, he, of course, took over Hollywood, winning an EGOT and directing classics like Blazing Saddles, The Producers and Robin Hood: Men In Tights.

Simon Pegg

A comedic force to be reckoned with in the U.K. before dropping smash hits like Sean of the Dead in the U.S., Pegg once told The Hollywood Reporter “I went into stand-up because comedy was something I enjoyed but also because it offered me a certain autonomy that I wouldn’t have if I was sitting and waiting for the phone to ring as an actor.”

Dan Aykroyd

Dan Aykroyd started performing comedy at 17 and later joined the main casts of Second City in Toronto and Chicago. Later, it was his work in the sketch comedy powerhouse Saturday Night Live that turned him into a huge name and opened the door for him to start in classics like The Blues Brothers and Ghostbusters.

And those are some of the actors who also took the stage to perform stand-up or sketch comedy at some point during their careers!

While Saturday Night Live may be the most recognizable and, easily, the longest-lasting sketch comedy series in American history, there have been others, in case you didn’t know. In fact, there are quite a few legendary comedic actors who got their start in sketch comedy and have even been prominently featured in some great SNL sketches as hosts, but have never called Studio 8H home… as regular cast members, at least. The following are some of our favorite well-known masters of mirth who did sketch comedy, but weren't SNL cast members. 

Jordan Peele

Before becoming known as the mastermind behind some of the best horror movies in recent memory, Jordan Peele made a name for himself as a MADtv cast member, and later, as one-half of Key & Peele’s eponymous duo on Comedy Central. The Academy Award winner was actually offered to be on SNL, but was unable to break from his contract with MADtv, which is why he left the Fox series on bad terms after five years.

Carol Burnett 

Carol Burnett has been one of the most essential names in comedy for decades, but you can find much of her most iconic performances — such as a timeless Gone with the Wind parody — on her own long-running variety show, The Carol Burnett Show. Following her dramatic turn on Better Call Saul, a viral campaign was launched for her to host SNL, which, very shockingly, would be the first time.

John Candy

The late John Candy is one of the most beloved comedic talents of all time, known for great movies like Uncle Buck and Planes, Trains & Automobiles. For years, the actor’s claim to fame was Canada’s SCTV, on which he debuted characters like Johnny LaRue, whom he based off of rude people he knew and “wanted to get back at.”

Dave Chappelle

Any time that Dave Chappelle has hosted SNL, it always seems to spark controversy for one reason or another, which should come as no shock to anyone who watched the Emmy-nominated Chappelle’s Show. Running from 2003 to 2006 on Comedy Central, the series reflected the comic’s risqué, but thought-provoking, humor and featured now iconic bits including recreations of true stories about Rick James and Prince and an epic Wayne Brady cameo.

Jamie Foxx

Multi-talented Academy Award winner and Grammy winner Jamie Foxx has proved to be an absolute natural when he shows up at Studio 8H. After all, the Spider-Man movie villain actor — who also had his own sitcom featuring SNL alum Garrett Morris called The Jamie Foxx Show — did get his start on In Living Color from 1991 to 1994.

Eric Idle

There are some really weird SNL sketches that toe the line between terrible and amazing, but none have reached quite the level of distinct surrealism that Monty Python’s Flying Circus is defined by. One of the most famous members of the eponymous British comedy troupe is Eric Idle (i.e. “Wink-wink, nudge-nudge, say no more”), who would headline at Studio 8H four times in the ‘70s.

Catherine O'Hara

In addition to her epic film career — including the Home Alone movies, Beetlejuice, and The Nightmare Before Christmas, to name a few — Catherine O’Hara’s small screen career has earned her two Emmy awards. Her more recent win was for playing Moira Rose in the Schitt’s Creek cast, but there first was as a writer for SCTV, on which she also inspired laughs as a cast member.

Bob Odenkirk 

Future Breaking Bad cast member Bob Odenkirk actually wrote some beloved SNL sketches, such as Chris Farley’s first appearance as Matt Foley. His skills as a sketch comedy performer, however, could be seen in the 1990s on the short-lived The Ben Stiller Show, the more successful HBO series, Mr. Show with Bob & David, and its Netflix original revival, W/ Bob & David, in 2015.

Michael Richards

Years before starring in the Seinfeld cast as one of the funniest sitcom characters ever, Cosmo Kramer, Michael Richards portrayed various characters on Fridays. The short-lived sketch comedy — essentially ABC’s answer to Saturday Night Live — is also where the three-time Emmy winner met Seinfeld creator Larry David.

Jim Carrey

There are few living comedic legends as widely celebrated as Jim Carrey, who has hosted SNL a number of times and even signed on as the show’s resident Joe Biden for a brief period. What first led the Ace Ventura: Pet Detective and Dumb and Dumber actor on the path to stardom was his four-year stint on In Living Color, on which he debuted characters like Fire Marshall Bill, which came out of a failed sketch idea, apparently.

Aziz Ansari

Along with The League star Paul Scheer and Children’s Hospital actor Rob Huebel, Aziz Ansari formed a comedy troupe called Human Giant, who led their own titular sketch series that lasted for 20 episodes on MTV. The comic — who has also hosted SNL before — saw his star power rise when he joined the Parks and Recreation cast and went on to play one of best South Asian TV characters in recent memory on Netflix’s Master of None, which he also co-created. 

Rowan Atkinson

While most people associate him best with Mr. Bean these days, there are many great Rowan Atkinson movies and TV shows that pre-date his debut as the famous man-child. For instance, one of the the British comedian’s earliest claims to fame was a sketch comedy series called Not the Nine O'Clock News, which ran from 1979 to 1982 on the BBC.

Eric Wareheim

A series that best defines the surreal humor that Adult Swim is known for is Tim & Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!, in which Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim portray various characters in strange situations in sketches the drip of a low-budget. Wareheim has done many notable things on his own — such as his starring role on Master of None and recurring character on Bob’s Burger — but the duo still works together on shows like Tim & Eric’s Bedtime Stories or the sitcom parody Beef House from 2020.

Goldie Hawn

A show that largely inspired SNL was Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In — which, also like SNL, served as a jumping off point for many stellar careers, such as Lily Tomlin and Richard Dawson. Perhaps its most icon and successful alum, however, is one-time Hollywood It Girl Goldie Hawn, who won an Oscar for Cactus Flower very shortly after leaving the show and before going on to lead classics like Private Benjamin and Overboard.

Eugene Levy

Before starring in the American Pie cast, before Christopher Guest’s mockumentaries, and before many other great Eugene Levy movies and TV shows, the Canadian actor gained notoriety as party of Second City. His stint on the eponymous, Emmy-winning sketch series, SCTV, also saw the beginning of professional and personal relationship with the likes of John Candy, his Schitt’s Creek co-star Catherine O’Hara, and plenty more.

Flip Wilson

In the early 1970s, before SNL’s premiere, Flip Wilson hosted his own variety show, which was one of the most popular series on television during its four-year run on NBC. The most famous character the comedian portrayed on The Flip Wilson Show was a boisterous woman named Geraldine, whom he resurrected when he hosted SNL in 1983.

John Cleese

John Cleese — also known for writing and starring in the classic con artist movie, A Fish Called Wanda, and voicing the King in the Shrek movies — has never hosted SNL, but did appear on an episode with fellow Monty Python member, Michael Palin, in 1997. In addition to a cold open poking fun at the recently instituted TV ratings system, Cleese and Palin performed a special recreation of one of the most famous Monty Python’s Flying Circus sketches, “Dead Parrot.”

Bobby Lee

Known for characters like counter-productive translator Bae Sung, wannabe tough guy Tank, or Bruce Lee’s cousin, Bobby Lee is one of MADtv’s most notable success stories. The Korean-American became a staple of the Harold and Kumar movies, landed recurring roles on show like Magnum P.I. and Reservation Dogs, has moonlighted as the host of podcasts TigerBelly and Bad Friends, and plenty more to boast.

David Cross

From playing Tobias Funke — a character who could totally ruin Thanksgiving — on Arrested Development to appearing in the Alvin and the Chipmunks movies, David Cross has a pretty stacked and reputable resume. What set the path for the comedian’s success was co-headlining (along with Bob Odenkirk) HBO’s Mr. Show, on which he debuted a character who got his own movie in 2002 called Run Ronnie Run.

David Alan Grier

Arguably David Alan Grier’s most famous character from his In Living Color tenure was Antoine Meriwether — one half of a duo also consisting of Damon Wayans’ Blaine Edwards. The They Cloned Tyrone cast member — who hosted SNL a couple of times in the ‘90s — reprised the flamboyant film critic on an SNL episode hosted by Wayans.

Rick Moranis

The beloved Rick Moranis has starred in many funny movies, such as Ghostbusters from 1984 and 1983’s Strange Brew. The latter was the film debut of Bob McKenzie — a stereotypical hoser he originated on SCTV alongside Dave Thomas as his brother, Doug.

Tracey Ullman

Tracey Ullman was cast on a few different sketch comedy shows — such as BBC’s A Kick Up the Eighties — before becoming the star of her own in 1987, which also saw the debut appearances of the Simpsons. Fox’s The Tracey Ullman Show was actually just one of many sketch series that the British comedian would headline, such as HBO’s Tracey Takes On… and Tracey Ullman’s State of the Union.

Keegan-Michael Key

In 2021, Keegan-Michael Key became the first MADtv alum to host SNL, which saw him reunite with this fellow Schmigadoon cast member, Cecily Strong. The episode — in which Key broke into laughter during a sketch featuring the Muppets —  was certainly a Season 46 highlight, but could have been even better if he brought back characters from some of the best Key & Peele sketches, like Luther.

Jennifer Saunders

Arguably, the most iconic duo Jennifer Saunders is a part of comes from Absolutely Fabulous, in which she plays Edina opposite Joanna Lumley’s Patsy. However, a sketch comedy that both predates and surpasses that long-running Britcom is French and Saunders, in which Saunders and her fellow Death on the Nile cast member, Dawn French, cleverly send-up everyday life in the U.K. and American cinema.

Larry David

In a story shared to Vanity Fair that mirrors one of the best Seinfeld episodes, the sitcom’s co-creator, Larry David, once quit his SNL writing gig in a rage, only to return on Monday acting like it never happened. Years later, he would make semi-regular appearances on the show as Bernie Sanders but, prior to all of this, the Curb Your Enthusiasm star was a performer on Fridays from 1980 to 1982.

Tim Heidecker

Tim Heidecker is best known as one half of the eponymous duo from Adult Swim’s hit sketch comedy series, Tim & Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! On his own, the Us actor has made waves in the comedy world with the 2012 dramedy, The Comedy, or for an ongoing, multi-media big following his fictionalized self’s murder trial.

Carrie Brownstein

Carrie Brownstein has been on SNL a few times — including once as herself for an edition of “What Up With That?” that did not go as planned, thanks to Samuel L. Jackson’s F-bomb. The musician and actor has also shared the screen with several Studio 8H all-stars on Portlandia, including her co-star and co-creator of the Portland, Oregon-based sketch show: Fred Armisen.

Stephen Fry

Before earning a Golden Globe nomination for his performance in Wilde in 1999, later appearing in Amazon’s adaptation of Red, White and Royal Blue, and other versatile achievements, Stephen Fry was partners in comedy with House’s Hugh Laurie on BBC’s A Bit of Fry & Laurie form 1989 to 1995. Earlier than that, the pair were on another British sketch comedy show with future Harry Potter movies stars Emma Thompson and Robbie Coltrane called Alfresco. 

Michael Ian Black

Michael Ian Black is, perhaps, best known from Wet Hot American Summer and its Netflix original series spin-offs, but many of his collaborators on that cult comedy favorite — including director David Wain and his co-writer Michael Showalter — were on MTV’s The State together. Black later worked with Wain and Showalter on a sketch series called Stella and then headlined a sketch comedy/sitcom hybrid with Showalter for Comedy Central called Michael & Michael Have Issues in 2009.

Amy Schumer

One of the biggest names in stand-up is Amy Schumer, whose notoriety expanded after her Golden Globe-nominated performance opposite SNL’s Bill Hader in 2015’s Trainwreck, which she also wrote. Before then, however, the comedian’s stardom certainly rose after she scored her own Comedy Central show called Inside Amy Schumer, which won three Emmys — including Outstanding Variety Sketch Series.

Tim Conway

It may have been Carol’s show, but one could argue that the funniest cast member from The Carol Burnett Show was Tim Conway, who passed away in 2019. Some of his most memorable moments do not even involve the eponymous host, such as a sketch where he plays a clumsy doctor that had co-star, Harvey Korman, in stitches.

Amanda Bynes

Kenan Thompson — one of the longest-running SNL actors ever — is easily one of the biggest stars to start out on All That (essentially SNL, but with kids), but his co-star, Amanda Bynes, was the first to get her own sketch comedy series: The Amanda Show. Her post-Nickelodeon career includes leading the sitcom What I Like About You and movies like the Shakespeare-inspired rom-com, She’s the Man.

We still have nothing but love for our favorite iconic SNL actors, but also recognize that they do not make up all of our most cherished heroes in sketch comedy.

Back during the early days of development on the Barbie movie, Amy Schumer was attached to play the titular role. As ideas for the movie kept evolving though, it transformed into something different from the initial concept, and the comedian bailed on the part. Margot Robbie and Greta Gerwig ended up taking over the project, developing it into the pink, sparkly extravaganza that just hit theaters. Now, the I Feel Pretty star is reacting to the summer blockbuster in a tongue-in-cheek way that hints at her previous casting. 

Amy Schumer posted a goofy photo on her Instagram that shows her sporting a big sun hat. In her caption, she talked about seeing both Oppenheimer and Barbie this weekend, meaning she participated in the viral "Barbenheimer" double feature craze. Instead of suggesting she should have played the title character in the fantasy film, as originally intended, she joked that she actually should’ve been considered for another major role. This is an absolutely hilarious way of addressing her connection to Margot Robbie's movie. Instead of brushing aside Robbie, the Trainwreck star focuses on Oppenheimer, musing that she could've played Emily Blunt's Katherine "Kitty" Oppenheimer. That's obviously much funnier, considering she has zero connection to that movie. I’m honestly not sure she would've been right for the role of Blunt’s Kitty, as she suggests, but I love the shoutout for one of the most exciting movies of the summer.

When Amy Schumer was attached to Barbie, the film was very different and in her words, not as “feminist and cool.” She left the project in 2017, and Robbie was cast in the titular role when Warner Brothers took over the project. With Robbie and Greta Gerwig as the feminine creative minds behind the project, it seemingly received a fresh creative jolt. Schumer was previously asked if she was looking forward to the new iteration of the film that hit theaters. At the time, the actress was enthusiastic, about the project, so it seems evident that there's not kind of bad blood in the mix here.

The Last Comic Standing alum continues to show she's one of the wittiest comedic minds in the entertainment industry. She always seems able to put a funny spin on a potentially awkward situation, and she did so with such class using this post. It’s hilarious and subtle while encouraging others to see the two wonderful films that just so happen to be in theaters at the same time. Also, she's totally rocking that sun hat, so maybe Christopher Nolan should keep the comedy star in mind he needs to cast another protagonist that sports a sweet lid.

Amy Schumer has been killing the game as one of the biggest female names in comedy. She is no stranger to leading films, as she has been the central protagonist in films like I Feel Pretty and Trainwreck. The Life After Beth star was also originally set to star in the Barbie movie, which is one of the most anticipated movies of the year. Now, she is opening up about why she dropped out of the high profile project. 

Schumer was recently a guest on the Bravo talk show Watch What Happens Live! where she was asked why she bailed on such a massive film. The comedian got candid about why she left, revealing that the original concept for the movie was very different from what ended up becoming the final project. She detailed:

Margot Robbie ended up nabbing the title role and is a producer on the film. Based on Schumer’s comments, it seems like the concept she was a part of may have been more of a basic vision for a Barbie movie. When pushed further about the original vision, she definitively said that the original idea wasn’t nearly as feminist and cool as the version being currently advertised. The “new team” she is likely referring to are Noah Baumbach and Greta Gerwig, who, based on the trailers, are using the Barbie IP to make a statement about girlhood. 

The new vision definitely seems a lot more exciting than what Schumer claims the original idea was. We will never know what the Snatched star would’ve brought to the character, but I’m admittedly very curious. Margot Robbie feels like the perfect Barbie based on what we’ve already seen from the film, however Schumer would’ve brought something very different tonally, with her wry sense of humor and writing background. Both actresses are amazing, and it’s nice to hear that Schumer is still supporting the movie, despite no longer being a part of the project. 

While leading Barbie didn’t pan out, the 42 year old still has a lot going on. She is set to star in a biopic about the Pop-Tart business titled Unfrosted. The film will be directed by Jerry Seinfeld and stars an all-star cast which includes James Marsden, Melissa McCarthy and Hugh Grant. In addition, Season 2 of Life After Beth has been greenlit, where Schumer will be reprising her role as the title character. Who knows if any of these projects would have been possible if she was committed to Barbie, so I think things turned out exactly how they were supposed to. 

Barbie will hit theaters on July 21st, led by Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling. Fans of Amy Schumer can check out Life after Beth, which is streaming now for audiences with a Hulu subscription. Since the early '60s, Pop-Tarts have been the go-to breakfast dish for anybody needing a quick meal before heading out the door. I guess it was only a matter of time before a movie was made, though who would've thought it would come decades later from Jerry Seinfeld? The iconic comedian directed Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story, which will eventually become available to anyone with a Netflix subscription, and in addition to being a part of it, he's also brought on some famous stars. 

The cast list for Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story is unbelievably stacked. A look down this list will show a who's who in comedy and get readers excited for this upcoming movie. Let's dive in and talk about some of the big names who will take part in this comedy movie. Full disclosure, we don't know the roles any of these actors and actresses are playing, but seeing them all together has me very excited about this project. 

Jerry Seinfeld

Comedian Jerry Seinfeld will star in Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story, which highlights the competition between Post and Kellogg's to produce a breakfast pastry in the early 1960s. Seinfeld is most known for his self-titled hit series, as well as his successful stand-up career. 

Melissa McCarthy

Melissa McCarthy is, without a doubt, one of the funniest women working in film. Whether it's Spy, Bridesmaids or any of her other notable movies, McCarthy is always on point with her ability to seamlessly meld quick wit with physical comedy. Hopefully all of that is happening in Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story, but we can only wait and see. 

Jim Gaffigan

Stand-up comedian Jim Gaffigan might be primarily known for his stage work, but he's had a pretty healthy career in both film and television. Readers might remember his TV Land series The Jim Gaffigan Show or some of the various other movies and shows he's played a small role in, one maybe you've heard some of his voice work over the years, like as Thunderbolt in Stargirl Season 2.

Amy Schumer

Amy Schumer turned down doing the Barbie movie, but she'll be in Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story in an undisclosed role. In addition to a highly-successful career in stand-up comedy, Schumer has found in just about every aspect of entertainment from film and television. 

Hugh Grant

Hugh Grant is an acting icon, and while he may not be the first person that comes to mind in a traditional comedy, he's had roles in quite a few entertaining ones over the years. One of my favorites had to be his recent cameo in Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, but there are many other examples worth checking out. 

James Marsden

With Westworld officially in the rearview, James Marsden is in the cast of Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story. Marsden's career in film and television spans everywhere from X-Men to Enchanted. Having him aboard is a gift, and I expect his role will be a good one. 

Jack McBrayer

Jack McBrayer has come a long way from his days on 30 Rock, though a lot of the things folks love about his role on that comedy show are still present in some of his more recent works. I don't know officially what to expect from McBrayer, but I wouldn't be surprised if his positive-leaning Southern charm he's known for is on full display in whatever role he's been given. 

Thomas Lennon

It's hard to see Thomas Lennon and not see anything other than Lieutenant Jim Dangle of Reno 911. It's a credit to Lennon that his character has had the sort of longevity to still be relevant in 2023, though I'm sure we'll see him play someone entirely different in Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story. 

Adrian Martinez

Actor Adrian Martinez has popped around Hollywood on the film and television side in various roles since the early '90s. 2023 will be a big year for him with an appearance in Renfield, and it's possible we'll see Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story arrive then as well. 

Bobby Moynihan

Saturday Night Live veteran Bobby Moynihan has been added to cast of Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story. This is just another notch in the belt for Moynihan's growing film career and his already-impressive string of television roles. Given the amount of voice-acting the actor's done in recent years, I almost wonder if he might be a spokesperson for Pop-Tarts or something along those lines in this upcoming movie. 

Max Greenfield

Between his roles on New Girl and The Neighborhood, it's easy to see why any comedy would want to bring on Max Greenfield. He's a natural talent who also proved he has some dramatic acting skills, as well with projects like The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story. Hopefully he'll get a solid role in this film to further open up his career to other big roles. 

Christian Slater

Christian Slater's film and acting credits can't be summarized in a brief blurb, but luckily, he's enough of a household name we shouldn't have to run down the list. Suffice it to say that everyone should be thrilled he's in Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story, regardless of what he's doing. 

Sarah Cooper

Stand-up comedian Sarah Cooper will join the cast of Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story, and she's definitely one of the up-and-coming talents on this cast list. Anyone unfamiliar with her work should certainly check out her Netflix special Sarah Cooper: Everything's Fine to get ready for her upcoming performance in this movie. 

Rachael Harris

Lucifer fans should know actress Rachael Harris quite well, as she spent years on the main cast as Dr. Linda Martin. She's also had roles on numerous acclaimed comedies like Frasier and Ghosts, so she can bring a lot to this comedy film. 

Cedric Yarbrough

Cedric Yarbrough has done quite a bit in Hollywood throughout his career, though I daresay he's held any roles quite as prolific as his role as Deputy Jones on Reno 911. Now he's a part of Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story, and hopefully ready to wow the world with whatever he'll be doing in this comedy. 

Maria Bakalova

Bulgarian actress Maria Bakalova really burst out into Hollywood following Borat Subsequent Moviefilm and has slowly worked her way to larger roles in Hollywood. Her role in this movie is on the heels of her role as Cosmo the Spacedog on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, so 2023 could be a big year for the actress. 

Kyle Dunnigan

Stand-up comedian Kyle Dunnigan will appear Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story, and he'll join a lot of former co-stars in the process. Dunnigan was known for his role as "Craig" on Reno 911 and was a writer on Inside Amy Schumer. Suffice it to say he probably had a lot of friends on set. 

Peter Dinklage

Actor Peter Dinklage has jumped through a lot of genres in his career and proven he can do anything from fantasy projects like Game of Thrones to comedy outings like Elf. There's no telling what he'll be up to in Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story, but knowing Dinklage's talents, I'm sure it'll be good. 

Jon Hamm

Jon Hamm is rolling right on from his role in Top Gun: Maverick into Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story. It's quite a genre jump for Hamm, but no doubt the Emmy-winning actor is game for whatever the comedy brings his way.  

John Slattery

John Slattery will join his former Mad Men co-star in Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story. Though we know little about his role, Slattery is electric in almost any role he's taken on, and I wouldn't expect this comedy to be any different for him. 

Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story will stream on Netflix, but we're still waiting for an official release date. Hopefully, the movie will be as satisfying as a warm Pop-Tart, and it's hard to believe it won't be with this talented cast. 

Social media is prevalent in many people’s lives, but sometimes it can become too much, and stepping away from such online activity becomes necessary. That’s what Spider-Man: No Way Home actor Tom Holland is doing, saying several days ago that he’s taking a break from social media for his mental health. Now comedian and I Feel Pretty actress/producer Amy Schumer has had to clarify that her own recent joke about social media usage, which a lot of people thought was about Holland, wasn’t actually  about him.

Although Tom Holland hasn’t posted anything on Instagram since July and Twitter since February, he briefly returned to the former platform this past weekend to share a video, where he mentioned that he’s been finding “Instagram and Twitter to be overstimulating,” which in turn has been “very detrimental” to his mental state. A day later, Amy Schumer posted her own video where she joked about deciding to use social media more for her physical and mental health. You can listen to her full bit below:

So yeah, it’s pretty obvious Amy Schumer is joking since looking at a phone for eight and a half hours and binging all of Love Island and the numerous Bachelor shows isn’t good for anyone’s physical and mental health, when they’re in their 40s or not. That said, Schumer was then accused of poking fun at what Tom Holland had said, prompting her to go on her Instagram Stories to clear things up. In her words:

This isn’t the first time this year that Amy Schumer has had to provide extra context for a joke/bit of hers. Back in late March, Schumer co-hosted the 94th Academy Awards with Regina Hall and Wanda Sykes, and one of her bits saw her mistaking Kirsten Dunst for a seat-filler and making her get up so she could sit across from Dunst’s husband/The Power of the Dog co-star, Jesse Plemons. Following backlash from a segment of Dunst’s fans, Schumer clarified that this portion of the Oscars broadcast was choreographed, adding that she would never disrespect “that queen like that.” Schumer also claimed she’d been banned from telling a joke about Alec Baldwin at the ceremony, but then later admitted she’d never intended to tell said joke.

Along with co-hosting the 2022 Oscars and traveling around on her comedy tour, this year has seen Amy Schumer guest star as herself on Only Murders in the Building Season 2, which can be watched with a Hulu subscription. Schumer’s last film appearance was in 2021’s The Humans, and she’s next set to appear in Jerry Seinfeld’s Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story alongside people like Melissa McCarthy, Jim Gaffigan and Hugh Grant. That Netflix movie doesn’t have a specific release date yet.

Welcome to the Arconia, a beautiful apartment building in Manhattan that holds secrets far more sinister than rent gouging. The Hulu original show Only Murders in the Building follows the residents of the Arconia as they become suspects/sleuths in the crimes that unravel behind closed doors.

Fans of the show praised the acting performances of Selena Gomez, Steve Martin, and Martin Short, our three main characters and true-crime junkies-turned podcast co-hosts. Supporting performances from Amy Ryan, Jackie Hoffman, Tina Fey, Nathan Lane, and James Caverly add to the culture and quirkiness that make the Only Murders in the Building cast so special.

At the end of Season 1, viewers are left with a new crime to solve: The murder of Bunny, the Arconia’s building manager. But, who committed the heinous act? The creators of the “true crime” comedy have added a whole slew of new actors and suspects to the Only Murders in the Building Season 2 cast, which premiered on Hulu with three new episodes on June 28.

Amy Schumer (Herself)

In Season 2, Amy Schumer stars as herself, having just moved into rocker Sting’s old apartment in the Arconia. Interested in turning the main characters’ podcast into a TV show, Schumer joins the cast as an exaggerated version of herself.

Fans might recognize Schumer from her comedy specials, including Growing, The Leather Special, and Mostly Sex Stuff, or from her Comedy Central show, Inside Amy Schumer. She’s also starred in a number of memorable romantic comedies, including I Feel Pretty (2018) and Trainwreck (2015).

Schumer also stars in the new Hulu original series, Life & Beth, in which she stars with fellow OMITB Season 2 star Michael Rapaport.

Cara Delevingne (Alice)

Model-turned-actress Cara Delevingne joins the cast of Only Murders in the Building for Season 2 as Alice, a young artist interested in getting to know Mabel a little bit better. While you might recognize Delevingne from her print and advertising work, many will also know her from the Amazon fantasy, Carnival Row, which will return for Season 2, and remember her as Margo in John Green’s Paper Towns (2015). Swifties will also remember Delevingne’s appearance in the star-studded “Bad Blood” music video.

Delevingne has also appeared in films like Anna Karenina and Pan, as well as her more recent role as the Enchantress in Suicide Squad.

Shirley MacLaine (Leonora Folger)

Silver screen legend Shirley MacLaine also plays one of the mysterious residents of the Arconia in Season 2 of Only Murders in the Building.

MacLaine has played a part in many classic films, including The Trouble With Harry (1955), The Apartment (1960), Sweet Charity (1969), Terms of Endearment (1983), and Steel Magnolias (1989).

More recently, MacLaine appeared on the TV series, Downton Abbey, and played a role in the ensemble comedy, Valentine’s Day (2010).

Michael Rapaport (Detective Kreps)

Michael Raparport joins OMITB Season 2 as Detective Kreps, a detective working on Bunny’s murder case. This guy just has a face that makes every casting director say “cop.”

No, really. If you were born in the '90s or earlier, you’ll remember Michael Rapaport as Phoebe’s policeman boyfriend, Gary, on the sitcom Friends. He went on to play a cop again in A Day in the Life (2009), a homeland security agent in Prison Break, a cop again in Louie, and a cop again in Public Morals.

More recently, Rapaport took on a starring role as Doug Gardner in Atypical, this time playing an EMT. Currently, you can catch Rapaport in Amy Schumer’s Hulu show, Life & Beth. 

Ben Livingston (Charles’s Father)

Appearing in Season 2 as Charles’s father, Ben Livingston is a character actor with a hefty resume. He’s appeared in shows such as Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Person of Interest, Blue Bloods, Damages, House of Cards, and Mr. Robot.

In more recent years, Livingston’s acting credits have included roles in Harlem, and Manifest, NBC’s sci-fi mystery about a commercial airplane that goes missing for five years. The final season of the show will be on Netflix.

Christine Ko (Nina Lin)

A former child actor, Christine Ko got her start on projects like the TV short BFFs and the short-lived series, Hollywood Heights. 

Fans will probably first recognize Ko as Emma in the FX comedy series, Dave, where she stars as a main character alongside David “Lil Dicky” Burd.

You might also have seen Ko in TV shows such as Upload, Master of None, and The Handmaid’s Tale.

Ariel Shafir (Ivan)

We see Ariel Shafir in OMITB during the last days of Bunny’s life, where she continues her habit of giving the diner waiter money.

Shafir is known for small roles on a number of programs, such as Orange Is the New Black, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, The Sinner, and Bull.

Zoe Colletti (Lucy)

While we heard of Lucy in Season 1, she just might be a little more important in Season 2. Lucy is the daughter of one of Charles’s exes, and a very important person to him. 

Thanks to a photo shared by Steve Martin on Twitter, we know that Zoe Colletti has joined the cast of Only Murders in the Building and will appear as Lucy. 

The actress has appeared in several television shows, including Fear the Walking Dead and City on a Hill. She also took on a starring role in the 2019 film, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, and will appear in the upcoming sequel, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark 2.

Andrea Martin (Unknown)

Again, thanks to the not-so-secret cast photo shared by Steve Martin, we know that legendary comedian Andrea Martin will also be joining the residents of the Arconia in Only Murders in the Building Season 2. While her role in the show is still unknown, you can bet this actor will bring her A-game.

Martin has appeared in many TV shows over the course of her storied career, including two with OMITB costar Martin Short, SCTV and The Martin Short Show.

Fans of the actress will probably remember Martin from roles in The Producers (2005) and Hairspray Live! (2016). She’s also lent her voice to some animation work, including the Hercules TV series, Superman: The Animated Series, Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius, Kim Possible, and Rugrats.

Martin is also known for playing the iconic character Aunt Voula in the film My Big Fat Greek Wedding (2002) and the spin-off show, My Big Fat Greek Life.

After 19 seasons, The Ellen DeGeneres Show came to an end on May 26. The longtime talk show host celebrated her last episode by welcoming back Jennifer Aniston — her very first guest back in 2003 — as well as Billie Eilish and Pink, and many tears were shed over Ellen DeGeneres’ impact on daytime television and beyond. Only a few celebrities may have been in the studio for the comedian’s final on-air moments, but a number of A-listers sent her loving well-wishes after the show’s finale aired, including Kim Kardashian and Chris Pratt. 

The final episode featured a montage depicting the ways both television and Ellen DeGeneres’ life have changed since the show's beginning, as well as one last dance with DJ Stephen “tWitch” Boss, who lauded his longtime TV colleague, saying: 

After the show, Ellen continued to receive lovely messages from friends and former guests. The Kardashian-Jenner family made frequent appearances on the show, and Kim Kardashian shared a clip reel on her Instagram Stories that showed some of their fun moments and a sweet message to her friend:

Kris Jenner, as well, shared a number of her favorite moments on her Instagram Stories, including the time the famous momager was frightened so badly on the show she fell down and nearly wet her pants. In a separate post, she made sure to thank Ellen for all of the memories:

Chris Pratt also made numerous appearances on The Ellen DeGeneres Show over the years, and the Jurassic World Dominion actor posted a video on Instagram Stories applauding the host for her hard work and an extraordinary career:

When Ellen DeGeneres appeared on stage for her final show, she was greeted with a wild standing ovation from the audience, who included her wife, Portia de Rossi. Ellen thanked her fans and reflected on how much things have changed in the past 19 years, pointing out that when her show premiered, “I was not allowed to say 'gay.'” She said she couldn’t say “we,” because it implied that she was with someone, and she couldn’t say “wife,” because gay marriage wasn’t legal. In a glowing Instagram post, De Rossi credited her wife with helping to change those things by heightening the world’s consciousness:

So far, The Kardashians has given viewers a lot of insight into Kim Kardashian’s Saturday Night Live appearance. From learning more about her Met Gala run-in with Pete Davidson to Kanye West’s involvement to Debra Messing throwing shade, it’s been fun to get a first-hand account of everything that went down before the reality star went live from New York. One of her biggest tasks was writing her first hosting monologue, and in the latest episode of the Hulu series, “Did Somebody Tape That?,” the SKIMS founder received some help with the final draft — and viewers were privy to some of the zingers that didn’t make it, including barbs aimed at Tristan Thompson and R. Kelly.

Comedian Amy Schumer was on hand to advise Kim Kardashian on her monologue ahead of Saturday Night Live, and although the reality star went into the meeting confident with her jokes, the comedian must have helped her make some cuts, because there were a few burns in the episode that viewers didn’t hear when Kardashian took the New York stage last October. Tristan Thompson — and Khloé Kardashian by extension — was the target of one of them, as Kim read to Schumer:

Amy Schumer responded, “Oh shit,” to that one, though it’s not explained why that joke didn’t make it to air. It’s not like Kim Kardashian pulled too many punches when it came to roasting her famous family. For instance, Schumer approved of the joke calling Kris Jenner’s boyfriend Corey Gamble a gold-digger, and even gave Kim some tips on her delivery. Maybe it was a time issue. 

Another quip that didn’t make the cut targeted singer R. Kelly, who just a couple of weeks ahead of Kim Kardashian’s SNL appearance was found guilty of charges including sexual exploitation of a child, bribery, racketeering and sex trafficking. Kardashian read to Schumer:

Although the joke made the comedian laugh, Schumer said she thought it was too long and didn’t pay off quick enough, and then also advised Kim Kardashian not to include any jokes about her sex tape. Since the monologue will live on in infamy, she questioned whether Kim would want to continue being associated with that topic. 

Ultimately, however, Kim chose to keep the sex tape joke in, saying she wanted to take her power back on the issue, which had reared its head again on The Kardashians when an ad for it popped up on her son’s tablet. Speaking of Tristan’s side pieces, while Kim was focused on figuring out how to “burn them all to the fucking ground,” fans were busy watching Tristan Thompson’s reaction, and they were convinced he thought the inflammatory information on Saint’s tablet had to do with his infidelity. He's probably as happy as anyone that jokes about his private life were left out of the SNL opening.

It’s interesting to see the process of Kim Kardashian writing her Saturday Night Live monologue, especially to hear the jokes that didn’t make the cut. It seems like we’ll get even more SNL inside info in next week’s episode, as the title is “Live From New York.” Maybe Lorne Michaels will be inspired to film other hosts' monologue-crafting sessions to give fans even more insight into that process.

Although the main talking point from the 2022 Academy Awards continues to be Will Smith slapping Chris Rock onstage (which subsequently led to Smith resigning from the Academy and later being banned from attending the Oscars for the next 10 years), Amy Schumer has also been getting a fair amount of attention for her role as co-host, a duty she shared with Regina Hall and Wanda Sykes. For instance, a few days after the ceremony, Schumer shared a joke about Alec Baldwin she was banned from saying, but now she’s set the record straight, revealing that this was a rumor she started on her own.

To provide some context for those out of the loop, in an interview that was published on April 3, Amy Schumer informed THR that one of her cut jokes from the 2022 Academy Awards saw her saying that Netflix’s Don’t Look Up “is the name of a movie, more like don’t look down the barrel of Alec Baldwin’s shotgun,” referring to the tragic incident involving Baldwin on the set of Rust. Schumer initially indicated that she “wasn’t allowed” to say this joke, nor jabs at James Franco and Joe Rogan, but she’s now admitted on social media that she never planned to tell this Baldwin joke, saying:

Amy Schumer’s admission came in the same Instagram post when she debunked a report that she and her husband, Chris Fischer, had purchased an ocean-view mansion in Montecito. So rather than this being an issue of the Academy putting the kibosh on a joke, Schumer fessed up and made it clear she never had any intention of joking about Alec Baldwin fatally shooting cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injuring director Joel Souza with a live round from a gun being used as a prop during Rust’s production. Per arbitration details, Baldwin didn’t comprehend that he’d fired a live round until he was shown the bullet, and the 30 Rock alum has asserted he’s not “culpable” for the shooting.

Regarding Amy Schumer, although this matter about the scrapped Alec Baldwin joke has been cleared up, it isn’t the only issue from her time on the 2022 Academy Awards that’s popped up. There was also a moment in the ceremony where she joked about Kirsten Dunst being a seat-filler, and Schumer had the Power of the Dog actress get up so she could sit with Dunst’s husband and co-star, Jesse Plemons. This resulted in people sending Schumer “death threats,” requiring the comedian to clarify on social media that this was a “choreographed bit.”

The 2022 Academy Awards will go down in history as one of the most controversial years of the ceremony, specifically because of the viral moment when Will Smith slapped Chris Rock after the comedian joked about Jada Pinkett Smith on the Oscar stage. But that’s not the only moment that left viewers talking and getting a little mad. Many people were not amused by a joke Amy Schumer told seemingly at the expense of Kirsten Dunst, so much so that the comedian has shared that she received “death threats.” 

Following the telecast, Amy Schumer took to her social media to clarify for the Oscars audience that a moment between her, Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons during the show was a “choreographed bit.” Now that more time has passed since the show, the comedian recently shared on The Howard Stern Show that she did that specifically due to all the death threats she was getting about the joke. 

During the interview, Amy Schumer shared that people were really not happy at the part during the show where she had The Power of the Dog actress get out of her seat, after accusing her of being a “seat-filler,” to sit next to Kirsten Dunst's co-star and husband Jesse Plemons. As Schumer shared: 

In the segment toward the end of the show, Amy Schumer gave a shout-out to the seat fillers that come to the Oscars and often briefly take the spots of famous guests while they go to the bathroom or “to cry” for those who don’t win. Schumer approached a table where Jesse Plemons and Kirsten Dunst were sitting, watch what happened from there: 

Amy Schumer escorted Kirsten Dunst before taking her spot and telling her real-life husband that she “loved” him in The Power of the Dog. Plemons let her know that Dunst is his wife, to which she delivers the punchline “You’re married to that seat filler?” During the telecast, it did play as a bit awkward, and audiences may not have known that Dunst and Plemons were totally in on it.

During Schumer’s post-Oscars interview with Howard Stern, the comedian said that she actually ran her jokes by those she was making fun of prior to co-hosting the show. She shared that she asked Leonardo DiCaprio about his trend of dating younger women, to which he said “go ahead.” She also reached out to Will Smith in regards to the joke about Hollywood making a movie about Serena and Venus Williams’ dad after years of ignoring women’s stories as well. 

In regards to the Will Smith moment, Amy Schumer called the moment “traumatizing” for everyone. Wanda Sykes, who co-hosted the event with Schumer and Regina Hall, previously shared her wishes for Will Smith to be escorted out of the event after the altercation, but instead he won his first Oscar shortly after to a standing ovation. Smith has since resigned from the Academy and been banned from future Oscar ceremonies for the next decade. Additionally, two two movies Smith was set to star in have been placed on pause.

There are actually many musicians who have delved into the art of filmmaking (such as Rob Zombie, who has directed many notable horror movies, and Madonna, who is currently working on her own biopic). However, a rare few of these multi-talented artists have gotten attention from the Academy, including Questlove - whose Hulu original, feature-length directorial debut, Summer of Soul (…Or, When the Revolution Could Not Be Televised) won the Oscar for Best Documentary at the 94th Annual Academy Awards.

Born Ahmir Khalib Thompson, Questlove is best known as the drummer for the hip-hop group The Roots, which was founded more than 20 years before they became Jimmy Fallon’s house band. The permanent TV gig - which has seen him and his bandmates participate in many fun sketches, including the popular Classroom Instruments segment - would also open doors for the musician to make appearances in other movies and TV shows, often as himself. However, we will begin the following list of some of our favorite Questlove cameos so far with one of the first times he played an original character.

Soul (2020)

Questlove’s Summer of Soul - one of many great documentaries about Black culture in music - is not the first Academy Award-winning film that he has been involved in (nor is it his first film with the word “soul” in the title). In 2020, he leant his voice to the cast of Pixar’s Soul in the very fitting role of Curly, the drummer for a jazz quartet that Jamie Foxx’s Joe Gardner joins right before his untimely death, setting him on an adventure across the afterlife in an attempt to return to Earth. Questlove also served as a music consultant for the acclaimed Disney+ exclusive (despite a successful theatrical run overseas), which won Oscars for Best Original Score and Best Animated Feature in 2021.

iCarly - Season 6, Episode 7 (2012)

One of the many awesome celebrity guest appearances on this episode of iCarly’s sixth and final season (before its Paramount+ revival in 2021), called “iShock America,” is Questlove, as well as the rest of the legendary Roots crew. The one-hour special, which originally aired on Nickelodeon in 2012, sees the hosts of the titular web series within the show (Miranda Cosgrove, Jeanette McCurdy, Nathan Kress, and Noah Munck) appear on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, where an accidental moment of indecent exposure forces the gang to pay a fine worth thousands of dollars.

The Jim Gaffigan Show - Season 1, Episode 7 (2015)

Questlove is also one of many celebrities who play themselves on an episode of another sitcom - namely The Jim Gaffigan Show - on which the title character is scheduled to appear on Jimmy Fallon’s talk show. The drummer pops in to say hello to Jim Gaffigan (playing a fictionalized version of himself on the short-lived TV Land series he also co-created) backstage at The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where he says he can’t wait to hear more of his “food jokes” and asks him to sign his drumsticks for a charity event. He also meets Jim’s friend, a Zimbabwean priest named Father Nicholas (Tongayi Chrisa), whom - much to Jim’s surprise - Quest invites onstage to play the tambourine with The Roots.

Parks And Recreation - Season 7, Episode 7 (2015)

The seventh and final season of NBC’s hit dockumentary-style sitcom not called The Office saw the Parks and Recreation cast gathering for the marriage of office manager Donna Meagle (Retta) to Joe (Keegan-Michael Key). At the very end of the episode, during the reception, the bride was treated with the surprise appearance of Questlove as her estranged brother LaVondrius, whom Donna previously said she “hated” without specifying why. Her sibling (sort of) clears up the mystery by bringing up an old argument involving a microwave and showing that he is not over it either by promptly smashing the device on the dance floor.

Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping (2016)

A film that has one of the greatest assortments of celebrity cameos ever, particularly of people in the music business, is Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping - a hilarious and criminally underrated mockumentary written by and starring The Lonely Island. Questlove shows up pretty early as one of the famous talking heads showing their appreciation for the Style Boyz (the hip-hop group Andy Samberg’s conner4real was a part of before going solo). He says he admired the trio for their authentic chemistry and friendship, at least until their ugly breakup.

Inside Amy Schumer - Season 4, Episode 4 (2016)

On the night when Questlove accepted his Oscar for Summer of Soul, one of the three women hosting that year’s ceremony was Amy Schumer, whose own Comedy Central show, Inside Amy Amy Schumer, once enlisted the drummer for a funny bit from its fourth season. Quest appears dressed as an 18th-century revolutionary to help Amy pitch an idea for a new “hip-hopera” about Betsy Ross to Broadway superstar Lin-Manuel Miranda. Outside of dropping a beat on his old school snare, Quest remains silent for most of the scene until after the Tony-winning artist leaves, prompting him to reveal that he was only willing to participate in the pitch because Amy promised he would get tickets to Hamilton.

Someone Great (2019)

Drumming is not Questlove’s only musical talent, as seen by his cameo in the Netflix original rom-com, Someone Great - one of the best Gina Rodriguez movies - from 2019. The former Jane the Virgin cast member plays an aspiring music journalist recovering from a breakup who embarks on one last night out in New York City with her two best friends (Brittany Snow and DeWanda Wise) before moving to San Francisco for her dream job. A major stop on their farewell tour is a club called Neon Classic, where Quest just happens to be the guest DJ spinning records for the night.

Questlove actually served as the in-house DJ and musical director for the 93rd Academy Awards ceremony, which makes his Oscar win just the following year especially worth celebrating. I wonder if this is just the beginning of what could be a wonderful filmmaking career from the beloved musician. 

The Academy Awards has been known for presenters to stage their own comedy to poke fun at the nominees. However, it can be hard to tell for audience members what is staged and what is improvised. Presenters of the 2022 Academy Award Winners, like comedians Amy Schumer and Chris Rock, got a lot of attention. After receiving backlash for a joke she played on nominee Kirsten Dunst, Schumer explained that this particular joke was choreographed, whereas what went on with  her after Rock's incident with Will Smith definitely wasn’t.

On Amy Schumer’s Instagram story, she tagged Kirsten Dunst in a post that she appreciates Dunst’s fans for defending her, but that it was a choreographed bit they were both included in. She explained that she would never disrespect a “queen” like that.

The moment Amy Schumer is referring to was when she made a flabbergasted Kirsten Dunst get out of her chair to sit across from her partner Jesse Plemons, as she "thought" that Dunst was a seat-filler. Fans were raging on social media that they felt bad for the Power of the Dog star, and that this joke was not at all funny. Luckily, both women were in on the joke and there are no hard feelings.

In the next photo, Amy Schumer is seen entering the ceremony moments after Will Smith slapped Chris Rock on stage. She implied that this moment was not at all choreographed and made sure to bring the room together. Schumer thanked her dress designer, Oscar De La Renta, her assistant and personal trainer Harley Pasternak for making her feel strong in her Spider-Man outfit Oscar bit, which had happened before what went down between Smith and Rock.

After Will Smith slapped Chris Rock for joking about his wife’s bald look, he won the Academy Award for Best Actor in King Richard. He gave a passionate acceptance speech while in tears about the honor of being able to play Richard Williams, the father of tennis stars Venus and Serena Williams. Smith also indirectly apologized for his actions that took place before winning the award. A day later, this Academy Award-winner formally apologized to Chris Rock for slapping him. This was a moment that left those in their seats and those watching at home in a state of confusion and shock.

Various celebrities had something to say about that particular moment that has everyone talking.The original Aunt Viv in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Janet Hubert, reacted to Will Smith slapping Chris Rock by saying she believed that the actions of both people were wrong, but was proud of Smith for his intentions. Bruce Almighty actor Jim Carrey, on the other hand, was sickened by Will Smith, saying that he had no right to go up on stage and slap Chris Rock for what he said. It’ll definitely be interesting to see what the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will do about this incident. This will definitely go on someone’s list for Most Controversial Oscar Moments.

In just three weeks, we’ll see the first Oscars hosts in three years in Regina Hall, Amy Schumer and Wanda Sykes. The trio of women are headlining the big award show, marking the first time each of them have emceed the ceremony. Ahead of the 94th Academy Awards, Regina Hall has shared that Whoopi Goldberg offered advice about how to put on a good show. 

It’s been a rough few years for the Oscars. Between the awards show being constantly criticized for its nominations, to the show’s ratings continually diminishing, the hosting gig has been called a “thankless” job by numerous people in the industry. However, Regina Hall is remaining positive, sharing that she went to Whoopi Goldberg about how to approach Hollywood’s big night. In Hall’s words:    

It sounds like Regina Hall went to the right person regarding Oscar host advice. While speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Hall shared that the biggest point Whoopi Goldberg shared to her was to have “a lot of fun” on stage, along with truly celebrating the movies of the year and keeping things moving along. It’s solid advice. 

Whoopi Goldberg was the last Black woman to host the Oscars all the way back in 2002 when A Beautiful Mind won Best Picture. Goldberg has been a frequent host, previously emceeing the ceremony in 1999, 1996 and 1994. She was also the first sole female host to headline the Academy Awards. Ellen DeGeneres is still the only other female talent to take on the role on her own for the night. 

Regina Hall is well known for her comedic roles in Girls Trip and the Scary Movie franchise. She’ll be joined by two talented comedians, Amy Schumer and Wanda Sykes. During Hall’s interview, the actress shared how it feels being paired with these other women:

When asked which of the three might “stir the pot the most” on the night itself with their jokes, Regina Hall said she thinks that there will “probably be three different kinds of pots being stirred.” Before we see Hall in the Oscars, a very different project is coming up for her. She stars in Master, which will be available to stream for those with an Amazon Prime subscription next Friday, March 18. 

Master is a horror movie about two Black women who begin to share disturbing experiences at a predominantly white New England college. The movie has received early praise from critics. A live-action Barbie movie starring and produced by Margot Robbie is in active development, but prior to The Suicide Squad star deciding to go plastic, there were two other iterations in the works around Hollywood. At one point, Anne Hathaway was going to star in another version, and before that, Amy Schumer was heavily involved in bringing the famous doll to the big screen. Years later, the comedian is sharing why she really dropped the project. 

When news broke that Amy Schumer was not going to be in the Barbie movie back in 2017, the Trainwreck actress cited “scheduling conflicts,” but that was not the real reason she dropped it. As Schumer explained:  

Amy Schumer’s Barbie, which was being written by her sister and frequent collaborator Kim Caramele, it would be a fish-out-of-water comedy where Schumer’s character would be kicked out of Barbieland for not adhering to perfect Barbie standards. However, as the actress has now told The Hollywood Reporter, there were creative conflicts between her vision and Sony. 

Schumer claimed that her Barbie was written as an “ambitious inventor,” but the studio asked that the invention be a high heel made of Jell-O, which she was not on board with. The actress continued: 

Per the interview, Amy Schumer said she was even sent a pair of Manolo Blahniks shoes in anticipation of the project. Barbie was then scrapped and has since come into the hands of Margot Robbie, who has brought on Ladybird and Little Women writer/director Greta Gerwig to helm the project. Gerwig is writing the script with her partner and Marriage Story filmmaker Noah Baumbach. 

Amy Schumer’s decision to quit Barbie reportedly led to the comedian’s decision to part with her longtime representatives due to feeling like she was “disappointing my team by not being Barbie.” She signed with another team and pursued other opportunities, such as her upcoming Hulu series, Life & Beth.

No plot details for the current Barbie movie have been disclosed, but alongside Margot Robbie playing Barbie, Ryan Gosling will play Ken, and Shang-Chi’s Simu Liu is also among the cast that will include Kate McKinnon and America Ferrera. The movie is still in pre-production, but considering all the recent casting information, it's likely the movie will get rolling in the near future. 

Alongside Amy Schumer’s streaming series hitting Hulu on March 18, she’ll be a co-host at the 2022 Oscars, alongside Regina Hall and Wanda Sykes, airing on ABC on Sunday, March 27.

Life & Beth Premieres March 18 On Hulu

You will be able to see what Life & Beth is all about when the the comedy series premieres, Friday, March 18, on Hulu. Anyone with access to a Hulu subscription in the United States will be able to see Amy Schumer’s latest TV contribution. However, If you live outside of America, you will have to watch Life & Beth on Disney+, which is handling the international streaming distribution, according to a statement made by Disney In February 2022.

The Life & Beth Cast Includes Amy Schumer, Michael Cera And More

Like many of the Hulu original series released in the past couple of years, Life & Beth will feature a phenomenal ensemble cast who will be joining Amy Schumer’s Beth on her personal journey. In 2021, Variety announced that Michael Cera will portray John, an honest and to-the-point farmer and chef, in his first regular TV role since Arrested Development. Also in 2021, Deadline revealed that Michael Rapaport will take on the role of Leonard, teenage Beth’s down-on-his-luck father. Portraying the younger version of Beth will be Violet Young, whose casting was revealed by Deadline in January 2022.

Other members of the Life & Beth cast include Susannah Flood (Chicago Fire, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit), Kevin Kane (Inside Amy Schumer, Bonding), Yamaneika Saunders (Broad City, Crashing), Laura Benanti (Tick, Tick… Boom!, Gossip Girl), Larry Owens (Search Party, Winner Winner Chicken Dinner), Rosebud Baker (Bill Burr Presents: The Ringers, Quick & Dirty), and LaVar Walker (Uncle Drew, Rel).

The Series Follows A Woman Named Beth As She Explores Her Past Following A ‘Sudden Incident’ 

Not a whole lot has been revealed about the specifics of Life & Beth’s story, but what has been revealed about the forthcoming comedy series does sound promising. According to the official synopsis revealed by Hulu in early 2022, the series will follow Beth (Schumer), a successful wine distributor in New York City who is forced to explore her past following a “sudden incident.” Exactly what happened to bring on this change has not yet been revealed.

It sounds like Life & Beth will bounce between Beth’s present-day story and flashbacks to her teenage years, which will help the young professional come to terms with her life and find a way to having a “bigger, bolder, and more authentic life.” Expect trauma, comedy, and enlightenment on this multi-part trip down memory lane featured in one of the most promising coming-of-age stories in quite some time.

Amy Schumer Came Up With The Idea Behind Life & Beth After She Bought Back The Farm Her Dad Lost In Bankruptcy

With the story being told in Life & Beth seeming so personal, it doesn’t take a stretch of the imagination to figure out that some of what will go down on the comedy series is based on things that happened to Amy Schumer throughout her life. When sitting down for a chat with EW in January 2022, Schumer was asked about her inspiration for the series, to which she responded:

On top of revisiting the feelings brought on by her personal experiences with the family farm, Amy Schumer also said she drew inspiration from Bo Burnham’s 2018 coming-of-age drama Eighth Grade, which got her thinking about all the journals she started keeping around that age.

Life & Beth Will Consist Of 10 Half-Hour Episodes

When Life & Beth premieres March 18 on Hulu, all 10 of the show’s half-hour episodes will be available for subscribers to watch in one five-hour binge session or over the course of the weekend. Each of these episodes will not only feature Amy Schumer in front of the camera, they were all written, directed, and executive produced by the Golden Globe-nominated actress.

The Series Was First Announced In 2019 With The Title ‘Love, Beth’

Although Life & Beth is premiering in March 2022, the show has been in the works for several years, during which time it has gone through some major changes. When the series was first revealed in July 2019, Variety announced that Amy Schumer’s Hulu comedy series would be titled Love, Beth and was supposed to debut on the streaming service at some point in 2020. Both of those aspects of the show obviously changed throughout its development, though it has not been revealed why the title changed.

It is hard to say if anything else will be revealed about Life & Beth before its March 18 Hulu debut (hoping for a trailer of some sort), but we'll have updates whenever possible. And, while you wait for the show's premiere, check out all the other 2022 new shows you can expect to see this year.

Many of the actors who popped up on 30 Rock back then have gone on to star in huge shows, big hit movies, and more. Since it’s been so long, and everyone has had such influential careers, their appearances on 30 Rock might have flown under the radar. Here are eleven 30 Rock actors who appeared on the popular sitcom that you may have forgotten about. 

Tituss Burgess (D’Fwan)

While many of us probably know Tituss Burgess from his breakout role as Tituss Andromedon on the Netflix original series, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, he appeared in 30 Rock as D’Fwan. A member of Tracy Jordan’s wife’s entourage, D’Fwan was a hairdresser and friend of Angie, who had plenty of sass who appeared on the show for four episodes, during Seasons 5 and 6. 

Honestly, I could see why Tituss was cast in this role, as I feel like his character from Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and 30 Rock are pretty similar in many ways. 

Amy Schumer (Stylist)

I feel like at this point everyone knows who Amy Schumer is, from her hilarious comedy specials on Netflix to movies like Trainwreck. But, before she blew up as a stand-up comedian and actress, Schumer had some guest roles in TV. One of which was on 30 Rock. 

While her moment was a “blink and you miss it” sort of deal, it’s still easy to point her out if you look hard enough. In the episode, “Mamma Mia!,” during Season 3 of 30 Rock, Amy Schumer plays a stylist who is working on Liz. Her only line is “Ugh, I’m gonna get some tape.” Again, super short, but it’s so funny to see her way before she was really famous. 

Cristin Milioti (Abby)

Cristin Milioti has had quite the career in both movies and television. From her role as "the mother" with the How I Met Your Mother cast to her parts in big movies like the Leonardo DiCaprio-led, The Wolf of Wall Street or Palm Springs, she has truly become a star. However, she had a minor guest role on 30 Rock back in 2011 during the sixth season of the show.  

In the episode “TGS Hates Women,” Milioti played Abby, an insufferable woman who was supposed to be something good for TGS when they were accused of misogyny, but that ends up backfiring royally for Liz. Her character was so much, and it was a great way to show her comedic timing before her breakout role on How I Met Your Mother. 

Adrienne C. Moore (Various)

The Orange is the New Black cast was full of stars from beginning to end, and one of those who grew on me over time was Adrienne C. Moore’s character, Black Cindy, a hilarious inmate. However, before she ended up becoming one of the most popular characters on OITNB, Adrienne C. Moore guest-starred in not one, but two episodes of 30 Rock.

In Episode 2 of Season 7, titled "Governor Dunston," Moore played the manager of a supply store who catches Liz and Chris attempting to jazz up their sex life a little bit. Her second guest role, however, was more memorable, this time having a name, Shanice, and working as a marriage bureau employee in Episode 7 of Season 7, titled "Mazel Tov, Dummies!," who says that she’ll never get married and catcalls Chris. Definitely a fun moment. 

Peter Dinklage (Stewart)

While Peter Dinklage did have a pretty successful career prior to this appearance, it wasn’t until he became a part of the Game of Thrones cast that he truly became famous, portraying Tyrion Lannister for all eight seasons of the show. But, before he was the smartest lion ever, he guest starred on 30 Rock for an episode in Season 3, titled “Senor Macho Solo.”

Dinklage portrayed Stewart, a man with dwarfism who is intelligent and looks to be exactly what every woman would want. The only issue is that Liz mistook him for a child when they first met - and everything else sort of starts to fall apart from there. This is personally one of my favorite guest spots because it’s always so funny to look back and see him before the Game of Thrones hype. 

Anna Chlumsky (Liz Lemler)

Anna Chlumsky was in Hollywood for a time as a child actress, but had taken a break so that she could finish school. Afterwards, she made her big return to TV, with her biggest role so far being that of Amy Brookheimer in the popular HBO original series, Veep. Before that even show premiered, she had made a minor guest role on 30 Rock in Season 1, on the episode, "The Fighting Irish."

While her appearance is brief, it is memorable. Anna Chlumsky played Liz Lemler (a play on Liz’s name, Liz Lemon), who was Floyd’s girlfriend. However, Liz (Fey) made quick work of her and fired her from TGS when she was told to get rid of 10% of her staff. Talk about making sure you’re the only Liz around. Even so, it’s always fun to watch the show and remember she was on here before Veep came out. 

Aubrey Plaza (NBC Page/Tour Group Leader)

I know. It’s hard to imagine a world where Aubrey Plaza wasn’t famous, after her huge role as part of the Parks and Recreation cast, or with her amazing movies, like Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, Child’s Play, Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, and so many more. 

But, for a couple of seconds in Season 1, Aubrey Plaza popped up as a NBC Page (a real-life position) that was leading a tour group, in the episode, "Tracy Does Conan." It’s crazy to think that only a few years after his appearance she got the part on Parks and Recreation. 

Donald Glover (Various)

Donald Glover has truly become a mastermind of the entertainment world. Not only is his a big musical act, making music through his alter ego, Childish Gambino, but he’s had so many hits that it’s hard to keep track. This includes being a part of the Community cast, creating his own FX comedy, Atlanta, appearing as young Lando in Solo: A Star Wars Story, and so much more. 

Before all of those success, Glover worked on 30 Rock. While it’s known that he was a writer on the show, Glover actually appeared on screen four times, in Seasons 1, 2, 3, and 6. While many of his roles were small, uncredited or improvised, it’s so much fun to see him pop up from time to time, knowing about the success he had not that long after.  

Ben Sinclair (Brooklyn Idiot)

There’s something about Ben Sinclair’s appearance on 30 Rock that sits so perfectly with me. If you don’t know, Sinclair created High Maintenance, an anthology series that tells the story of a cannabis courier, otherwise known as “The Guy,” who delivers his products to people in the borough of Brooklyn in New York City. The show started off as a Vimeo series and then went on to become a television series on HBO. 

Why do I say this appearance is perfect in 30 Rock? Because of his character’s name - Sinclair’s character was literally called Brooklyn Idiot for the one episode he was on in Season 5, called, "100: Part 1." I mean, come on, could there not be a better pairing of character name / actor? It’s hilarious to think he went on to create a show about a Brooklynite years after his appearance. You gotta love it. 

Chloe Grace Moretz (Kaylie Hooper)

Kick-Ass had come out a year prior to Chloe Grace Moretz's first time on 30 Rock, but her career has only gotten bigger since, with appearances in movies like Dark Shadows, The Addams Family, Tom & Jerry and more. For three episodes, from Season 5 to Season 7, she played Kaylie Hooper, who was the granddaughter of Hank Hooper, the newest boss of NBC. 

Y'all, I could re-watch her interactions with Alec Baldwin’s character, Jack Donaghy, all day. While her character was only on three episodes, her appearances were so memorable, and I wish she was on the show more. I would have loved to see her rivalry with Jack play out, but it’s great to see how far Moretz has come in the film industry since then.

Matt Lauria (Winthrop)

Last but not least, we have Matt Lauria, who played Winthrop in the second episode, "Jack Gets In The Game," of Season 2 of 30 Rock. While his appearance was brief, the main reason I put this here is that this was actually Matt Lauria’s television debut, before he would go on to star in the highly successful sports series, Friday Night Lights, as Luke Cafferty two years later. 

Lauria has also appeared in a variety of other shows as main or recurring characters, such as CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Parenthood, the Apple TV+ series, Dickinson, the drama Kingdom, and currently has a main role in CSI: Vegas. It’s insane to think that this incredible career in television all started out with this one minor appearance, that you might have forgotten about, on 30 Rock. 

With several seasons under its belt, there are plenty of other celebrities or actors who have appeared on 30 Rock, but these are truly the ones who have become huge stars. I need to see if they’ll be popping up in any other TV shows or movies soon.  

This past weekend, A Quiet Place Part II, which was once supposed to premiere in spring 2020, finally opened in theaters. Like its 2018 predecessor, the horror sequel has received a lot of praise, and among its fans is comedian and actress Amy Schumer. She shared her positive thoughts about A Quiet Place Part II on social media, which led to her having a great exchange with director John Krasinski.

In a since-deleted post on her Instagram page, Amy Schumer laid out her review for A Quiet Place Part II, while also including an amusing comment about John Krasinski and his wife, fellow actor and star of the sequel, Emily Blunt.

To declare that you liked A Quiet Place Part II more than A Quiet Place is high praise indeed considered how acclaimed our introduction to this Earth filled with sound-sensitive creatures was three years ago. That’s not to say everyone will feel the Quiet Place sequel is superior to the original, but it’s definitely collecting a lot of positive reception, ranking on Rotten Tomatoes at 91% among professional critics and 94% among audiences. That’s nothing to sneeze at.

As for Amy Schumer’s comment about John Krasinski and Emily Blunt’s marriage, Krasinski stopped by the comments section of Schumer’s Instagram post to say the following:

Uh oh, the cat’s out of the bag. That doesn’t bode well for A Quiet Place Part III. Nope, scratch that, John Krasinski just kept the joke that Amy Schumer started going a little longer; it’s nice to see him being a good sport. As with A Quiet Place, Krasinski sat back in the director’s chair for A Quiet Place Part II and worked on the script, but this time around, he didn’t have nearly as much screen time. That’s because his character, Lee Abbot, died in the first movie, limiting his presence in the sequel to the opening flashback sequence.

With her husband dead, A Quiet Place Part II follows Emily Blunt’s Evelyn Abbot guiding her children through this post-apocalyptic world, which has become a tad easier thanks to discovering a high-frequency audio feedback in the first movie that make these monsters vulnerable. The fresh faces in the sequel include Cillian Murphy, Djimon Honsou and Scoot McNairy. A Quiet Place Part II is one of the first movies to play exclusively on the big screen since theaters started reopening with new health and safety measures in place following months of closure in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Thus far, the horror flick has made $80.5 million worldwide.

Being pregnant isn’t exactly easy for anyone, and Schumer had some complications during her pregnancy. Giving birth is even harder, and for the women who have a C-section like Schumer did, recovery is oftentimes a lot more tedious. With a C-section comes a new life and a new impressive scar, which Amy showed off in the post below:

She has voiced her pro-women opinions in a number of her comedy specials and her own TV show, and a number of her films have been centered around the newfound confidence of women. Her movie I Feel Pretty specifically handles the insecurity of a woman who empowers herself to be more confident.

Like much of life in 2020 for the past several months, talk show appearances became a much different animal back in the spring. While many of our favorite talk show hosts have now returned to their studios to tape shows, their guests are still doing interviews via video chat, and whenever you do that, you open yourself up to the possibility that your celebrity interview could turn into some impromptu family time. This is exactly what happened recently when Amy Schumer's kid crashed her appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

Amy Schumer has long been known to make us laugh by employing her trademark brand of off-color humor, and while this appearance on Ellen absolutely featured some of that, it was also punctuated by a short visit from her young son, Gene, who's only 16 months old. Take a look!

Good ol' Amy Schumer, right? In case you weren't 100% clear on this, yes, Schumer appeared on Ellen in a video interview, but had her background changed to look like the one on set, and then had prop dummy legs set up in front of a large monitor to make it look like she was doing the whole thing with her legs spread-eagle in the air in front of her. While I'd like to assume that her husband, Chris Fischer, who's a chef and the co-host of their cooking show Amy Schumer Learns to Cook, had a brief emergency and had to hand little Gene over to Schumer, we all know that's not what happened.

Schumer is not the kind of comedian to let a bit go by quietly, so, in order to show just how flexible she supposedly is, she had Fischer bring Gene to her so that we could all see how easy it is for her to hold her son while also stretching her legs in front of her face. I'm quite fond of the fact that Gene was totally, adorably confused the whole time, even as Schumer thanked DeGeneres for always supporting her and her career. And, then seemed to call the host "mom," which got him shuffled back off to Fischer.

Schumer then brought out a (somewhat) cleaned up version of her patented humor by remarking that "it smells amazing in here." Truly, if you can't get behind the appearance of a cute baby being followed by a pleasant-vagina-scent joke, I'm gonna just go ahead and say that you've been doing 2020 all wrong, my friend.

As cute as the distraction of baby Gene was, Amy Schumer did have some serious things to talk about later in the interview. She mentioned doing standup for the first time last week, which was after a break of almost eight months, and how much she's missed performing for live crowds. But, it turns out that Schumer's also been doing her part to raise awareness by protesting a few minutes a day in support of the Black Lives Matter movement since early June. It sounds like she and Fischer are already on track to raise a socially-aware kid, who will also be able to appreciate a good vagina joke, and there's nothing wrong with that.

Lyme disease is relatively common, though it doesn’t crop up with the rich and famous all that often. Still it happens, and big names like Avril Lavigne, Ben Stiller and Shania Twain have retreated from the public eye for a time as they’ve dealt with the effects of the disease. Now, Amy Schumer has joined the ranks of those notable names who have suffered from Lyme, and it sounds as if she may have been dealing with the disease for a while.

Still, the Trainwreck star says she only sought treatment for Lyme disease this summer after feeling like she may have been dealing with the after effects of getting a tickborne illness for "maybe years." She detailed the medications she’s on and more on Instagram, but it sounds as if she still has questions about her diagnosis and what to do for it.

I’m not sure a doctor would answer these questions in a public forum like social media, but the nice thing about being able to share experiences on a forum like that is being privy to a whole bunch of experiences. In this case, Amy Schumer has some questions regarding whether or not Doxycycline and wine are a green light or a red light and more and it seems like she just wants to hear from other people who have also dealt with the disease.

Amy Schumer’s public health condition share is one that more often crops up during the summer months, as people spend more time outdoors. In addition, It comes as other celebrities have discussed their dealings with Lyme disease over the last few years. Yolanda Hadid may be one of the most notable battles with Lyme, as it took her time to even determine what her diagnosis was. As of last year, Hadid revealed she has been in remission from the disease for seven years.

A lot of these celebrities go on to be advocates of Lyme disease. The aforementioned Avril Lavigne is the head of The Avril Lavigne foundation, which lends support to causes such as Lyme disease. Yolanda Hadid is part of Global Lyme Alliance. Alec Baldwin, himself a sufferer, has spoken out at events about Lyme, including the Bay Area Lyme Foundation LymeAid.

Lyme has been on the increase in recent years, as more people are coming into contact with ticks. Lyme bacteria is often spread by mice and the ticks that carry the disease shift around as deer populations do. There’s a glut of information on this topic online, but the basic gist is, Lyme disease rates have gone up over the past couple of decades.

Here’s hoping Amy Schumer’s diagnosis helps her to deal with the symptoms of the disease. Meanwhile, I have some questions of my own. Namely, when is Schumer getting back to work? I know she has a Hulu series on the docket, but as TV and movie productions trickle back and she's hopefully starting to feel better, I am champing at the bit for more info!

Groundhog Day (1993)

When a self-obsessed and detestable TV weatherman (Bill Murray) is sent to cover Punxsutawney Phil for the town's annual Groundhog Day celebration, he finds himself trapped an endless loop of the same day repeating itself.

Why It'll Make You Laugh: Where to start with Groundhog Day? I don't know, maybe the repeated "Phil, Phil Connors? Phil Connors, I thought that was you," interactions and the thrilling chase involving a weatherman and stolen groundhog are good places to start.

Tootsie (1982)

Michael Dorsey (Dustin Hoffman), a struggling actor, attempts to prove a point when he dresses himself up like a woman in order to get hired on a soap opera. Little does he know but he will soon become a national star and fall head over heels for his costar (Jessica Lange).

Why It'll Make You Laugh: Sydney Pollack's 1982 comedy has a near-perfect plot filled with funny moment after funny moment, but nothing compares to Michael Dorsey's big reveal at the end and Jeff Slater (Bill Murray) reacting with "That is one nutty hospital."

The Death Of Stalin (2017)

When Russian dictator Joseph Stalin suddenly dies, the Soviet Union is left in disarray as his former allies and enemies, including Steve Buscemi as Nikita Khrushchev and Jeffrey Tambor as Georgy Malenkov, jockey for position in this insanely hilarious satirical look at a regime in transition.

Why It'll Make You Laugh: On the surface, a movie about the death of a tyrannical leader doesn't sound all that funny, but this dark comedy from the mind of Veep creator Armando Iannucci is full of side-splitting humor, especially Stalin's funeral.

Spaceballs (1987)

Mel Brooks' classic Star Wars spoof Spaceballs pokes plenty of fun at the saga from "a galaxy far, far away…" as it follows the evil mastermind Dark Helmet (Rick Moranis as he kidnaps Princess Vespa (Daphne Zuniga). Little does the oversized dome know but Lone Starr (Bill Pullman) and his trusty Barf (John Candy) are in pursuit.

Why It'll Make You Laugh: It's a Mel Brooks parody of Star Wars filled with enough cultural references to make you explode with laughter. Need I say more?

Airplane! (1980)

There are parody movies and then there is Airplane! which centers around a former combat pilot (Robert Hays) who is forced to rise to the occasion and land a passenger plane when the entire cabin crew goes down with a bad case of food poisoning.

Why It'll Make You Laugh: With everything from Leslie Nielsen's deadpan delivery as Dr. Rumack to Robert Stack's insane Capt. Rex Kramer, and "Otto," this cult classic is anything but serious, just don't call me Shirley.

The Addams Family (1991)

Adaptations of classic TV shows are a mixed bag, but that's not the case for the 1991 revival of The Addams Family, which centers around the titular family when Gomez Addams' (Raul Julia) long-lost brother Fester (Christopher Lloyd) returns after an unfortunate trip to the Bermuda Triangle.

Why It'll Make You Laugh: This creepy and kooky comedy has plenty of laughs for the whole family, but the most ridiculous thing you'll see throughout it all is the family duel at the school play involving Wednesday (Christina Ricci) and Pugsley Adams (Jimmy Workman). Add Christopher Lloyd in one of his best roles and you have plenty to look forward to.

Dave Chappelle's Standup Specials (2017, 2017, 2019)

Dave Chappelle marked his return to the comedy world with a series of specials as part of Netflix's major push in the world of standup. With three specials (two of which are two-parters) available on the platform, there's a lot to catch up on.

Why They'll Make You Laugh: I mean, it's Dave Chappelle doing what he does his best. None of the specials have the punch of Dave Chappelle's 2000 coming out party Killin' Them Softly, but modern-day Chappelle is better than most of his contemporaries.

Former Saturday Night Live writer and one-time sitcom star John Mulaney has not one, not two, but three different standup specials on Netflix, all of which shouldn't be missed.

Why They'll Make You Laugh: If you are a fan of any of the skits from say 2008 to 2013 of Saturday Night Live (or any of John Mulaney's guest appearances since then), then these standup specials will have you coming back time and time again. And watching Mulaney compare a certain world leader to a horse in a hospital is comedy at its best.

Trailer Park Boys (2001 - 2008, 2014 - Present)

Trailer Park Boys is a long-running Canadian mockumentary series about the strange cast of characters that inhabit the Sunnyvale Trailer Park and its surrounding communities. Trailer park supervisor Jim Lahey (the late John Dunsworth) and his assistant Randy (Patrick Roach) constantly try to thwart the main trio of anti-heroes Ricky (Robb Wells), Julian (John Paul Tremblay), and Bubbles (Mike Smith) from succeeding, but things never really go according to plan.

Why It'll Make You Laugh: Just about every episode in the show's original seven-season run is can't-miss television (and some of the Netflix revival as well). Whether it be Mr. Lahey's annual downfall down the slippery road of the liquor or new residents like Philadelphia Collins (the late Richard Collins) showing up looking like a mustard tiger, there's never a shortage of laughs.

Arrested Development (2003 - 2006, 2003, 2018 - 2019)

Long before it was given a second chance at life on Netflix, Arrested Development had a tremendous, yet short-lived run on Fox where it won four Golden Globes and a pair of Emmys for its offbeat depiction of the formerly wealthy Bluth family making an attempt at a comeback.

Why It'll Make You Laugh: The question should be what about this show won't make you laugh. Everything from flashbacks of family patriarch George Bluth Sr. (Jeffrey Tambor) calling on a certain friend to teach his children a lesson to Ron Howard's perfect timing as the show's narrator, the laughs don't stop. And even if Season 4 took a rather strange approach to the format, the show remains just as funny now as it did when it first debuted back in 2003.

The Office (2005 - 2014)

The long-running NBC comedy series The Office has become a staple of Netflix for about as long as anyone can remember and shows up on plenty of lists like this, but there's a reason the mockumentary series about the employees of Dunder Mifflin is a favorite 15 years after it first hit the airwaves.

Why It'll Make You Laugh: With so many cleaver inside jokes, the all-star cast of all-star casts, and characters we just can't help but love to hate, there's just too much to cover in terms of the show's greatness. Might as well start over from the beginning for the 1,000th time.

Amy Schumer revealed this personal information in Amy Schumer: Growing, her newest Netflix special which comes out tomorrow on the streaming service (via Entertainment Tonight). In the hour-long stand-up routine, Schumer recounts the build-up to this discovery about her husband, and how she could see the signs of this diagnosis even before it was known officially. For instance, Schumer notes in her special that she found her husband had a strange reaction to a moment in their relationship when she fell while the couple was taking a walk together. But as the actress/comedienne later admits, the qualities found in Chris Fischer's autism spectrum diagnosis were all the reasons why she fell in love with her husband in the first place. As the celebrity explained:

With advancements being made every day, more information is becoming readily available about autism and the defining characteristics found in people who are on the spectrum. Speaking for myself, I have known most of my life that I am on the spectrum, but there are many people who are only recently discovering this eye-opening piece of news about themselves — particularly with its broadening definitions and distinctions, as well as new developments in the scientific field. With that, Chris Fischer has discovered that he, too, is on the spectrum, and Amy Schumer believes the signs were apparent from the get-go, before the diagnosis. Now that it's confirmed, the pregnant comedienne believes that she has all-the-more reasons to love the man in her life, and it has provided a bit of clarity about him for her.

We have some bad news, Amy Schumer fans. Due to complications related to the comedian's first pregnancy, Schumer's upcoming stand-up dates have been cancelled indefinitely. She is not cleared to fly for the next couple of weeks, and while she loves her fans a whole bunch, she doesn't want to risk the birth of her first child either. Here's how Amy Schumer described the situation online -- never afraid to reveal very personal details, as per usual for the forthcoming comic.

The news was brought to light on Amy Schumer's Instagram, where she went into explicit detail about the troubles she's currently facing with her first pregnancy and how they are hindering her tour dates. Thankfully, Schumer says she and the baby are "healthy," so there shouldn't be need to worry in that regard, and "everything looks good" when it comes to the process.

But Amy Schumer isn't cleared to fly at the moment, and she wants to follow the doctor's orders. Nevertheless, she claims it's "embarrassing" to cancel these tour dates, but refunds are now available.

To be more specific, Amy Schumer is currently dealing with hyperemesis gravidarum. As Entertainment Weekly explains, it's a form of morning sickness the actress/comedian has been battling in recent months following the pregnancy announcement, and it is preventing her from traveling and, therefore, performing comedy in other cities.

It was back in October when Schumer announced that she is expecting her first child with her new husband, chef Chris Fischer. She revealed the news via Instagram too. She showed her followers a sonogram of the bouncing little baby she's currently fostering right now.

While this news is certainly going to be disappointing for ticket holders, it's ultimately the safety and well-being of the popular comedian that should matter most of all. So long as Amy Schumer is doing well and not in distress, that's what counts. But that means many fans will simply have to wait before they get a chance to see her perform live comedy -- although they should be comforted to know that Schumer's newest Netflix stand-up special, Amy Schumer Growing, hits the streaming service on March 19th. While watching Amy Schumer do her thing on Netflix isn't quite the same as seeing her live and in-person, it'll have to do for now.

The baby news comes just months after Amy Schumer married her husband, chef Chris Fischer, during a surprise private ceremony away from the public eye. Their relationship was only announced to the public a few short days before they read their vows to each other, which suggests that Amy Schumer prefers to keep her private life, well, private. Despite the open, deeply confessional nature of her stand-up comedy and public persona, she values her secrets.

When the sudden wedding news was first announced, Amy Schumer stressed that she wasn't pregnant. She wanted her fans to know that she didn't embark on a quick trip down the alter because she was carrying a child at that time. May 12 - Amy Schumer With Musical Guest Kacey Musgraves

Comedian and actress Amy Schumer will return for her second hosting stint on SNL on the May 12 show. The Trainwreck and Snatched star will hit the stage a few weeks after her new film, I Feel Pretty, opens in theaters. Country singer/songwriter Kacey Musgraves will appear as musical guest in support of her third studio album, Golden Hour.

May 19 - Tina Fey With Musical Guest Nicki Minaj

Wrapping up Season 43 of Saturday Night Live will be frequent host and former head writer/cast member Tina Fey. The 30 Rock and Whiskey Tango Foxtrot star launched the Mean Girls musical on Broadway in October 2017. Rapper Nicki Minaj is set to tear up the stage in support of her upcoming fourth studio album that same night.

The Season 43 opener will see actor Ryan Gosling host for the second time. Gosling, also known as the guy every dude's girlfriend is not-so-secretly in love with, was most recently seen in the Oscar winning film La La Land, for which he was nominated for Best Actor. His next movie is the highly anticipated sequel Blade Runner 2049, with Harrison Ford and Jared Leto, which opens on October 6. Jay-Z, who's performed three times previously, will be along to promote his recently released 4:44 album.

October 7 - Gal Gadot With Musical Guest Sam Smith

The first Saturday in October will see Wonder Woman herself, Gal Gadot, host SNL for the first time. She is, of course, coming off a major summer when her solo outing as the hero wowed audiences and critics alike. Her appearance on the show comes a little over a month before the November 17 debut of Justice League, in which Gadot also stars. The night's musical guest, Sam Smith, will be taking the stage in his second stint on the show. The Grammy winner has been working on his second album, and just released a new single, "Too Good at Goodbyes," earlier this month.

October 14 - Kumail Nanjiani With Musical Guest Pink

Also making his SNL debut during Season 43 is Kumail Nanjiani, who stars on the HBO comedy Silicon Valley. He recently gained even more praise for writing and starring in the film The Big Sick, which came out earlier this year. Singer/songwriter Pink, also the winner of multiple Grammy Awards, is due to release her seventh album, "Beautiful Trauma," on October 13.

November 4 - Larry David With Musical Guest Miley Cyrus

SNL will launch its November episodes with Larry David hosting the show for only the second time, with his first stint being back in February 2016. David, who is best known for helping to create Seinfeld and guide the show to the heights of comedy over many of its nine seasons, as well as for creating and starring in his (recently revived) HBO hit Curb Your Enthusiasm, appeared on Saturday Night Live several times during the election cycle to play candidate Bernie Sanders. Miley Cyrus, who hosted in 2011 and then took on both hosting and musical guest duties in 2013 and 2015, will return to perform and promote her most recent album, "Younger Now."

November 11 - Tiffany Haddish With Musical Guest Taylor Swift

The breakout star of the summer hit film Girls Trip, comedian Tiffany Haddish will get her first go 'round as an SNL host when she steps on stage for the November 11 episode. Haddish is also known for her work in Real Husbands of Hollywood, The Carmichael Show and in the film Keanu, and has several new projects currently in development. Taylor Swift will appear to perform songs from her new CD, "Reputation," and has been on the show several times before, including a 2009 stint where she served as both host and musical guest.

November 18 - Chance the Rapper With Musical Guest Eminem

Also marking his first stint as host in November will be Chance the Rapper, who's made several appearances as musical guest over the past few years. His third mixtape, "Coloring Book," was released in May 2016 and won three Grammy Awards, including Best Rap Album. It is also the first streaming-only album to get a Grammy nomination and win. Chance was also nominated for an Emmy this year for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics for "Last Christmas," which was written for and performed on SNL. Eminem will perform on the show to promote his new album, "Revival," which debuts on November 17.

December 2 - Saoirse Ronan With Musical Guest U2

SNL's December kicks off with two-time Academy Award nominee Saoirse Ronan hosting the comedy. Ronan, who received nominations in 2008 and 2016, is once again getting Oscar buzz for her role in Lady Bird, which was released in early November. U2, which has won a whopping 22 Grammy Awards, will perform on the show to promote their soon-to-be-released CD, Songs of Experience.

December 9 - James Franco With Musical Guest SZA

Jack of all trades James Franco takes on SNL hosting duties for the night of December 9. He's currently starring in the HBO drama The Deuce and can be seen on the big screen in The Disaster Artist. R&B singer SZA will make her debut on Saturday Night Live that evening. The five-time Grammy nominee will perform to promote her debut studio album, Ctrl.

December 16 - Kevin Hart With Musical Guest Foo Fighters

Making his third appearance as host, actor/comedian Kevin Hart will hit the SNL stage on December 16. His film Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle will be released on December 20 and he has five projects coming up soon. Seven-time musical guests Foo Fighters will rock the show once again, this time in support of their new CD, Concrete and Gold.

January 13 - Sam Rockwell With Musical Guest Halsey

Actor Sam Rockwell is primed to host SNL for the first time when the show returns from its holiday break on January 13. Rockwell is currently gaining much praise for his role in Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, having been nominated for a Golden Globe for his performance, which is also getting Oscar buzz. Singer Halsey will be hitting the SNL musical stage for the first time to promote her most recent CD, Hopeless Fountain Kingdom.

January 20 - Jessica Chastain With Musical Guest Troye Sivan

Molly's Game star Jessica Chastain takes on hosting duties for the first time when she hits the SNL stage on January 20. The actress, who received Oscar nominations for her work in The Help and Zero Dark Thirty, has become a force to be reckoned with on screen. Since 2010, she's gotten a remarkable 110 nominations for her roles in films like Miss Sloane, A Most Violent Year and Take Shelter. Troye Sivan will perform on the show for the first time to promote his debut studio album, Blue Neighbourhood.

January 27 - Will Ferrell With Musical Guest Chris Stapleton

Funny man Will Ferrell hits his old stomping grounds again when he returns to host Saturday Night Live for the fourth time. After making a name for himself with impressions of personalities like James Lipton, George W. Bush and Alex Trebek, Ferrell, of course, went on to take his wacky characters to the big screen in films like Anchorman and Talladega Nights. Grammy-winning country artist Chris Stapleton will make his second appearance on the show to promote his third solo album, From A Room: Volume 2.

February 3 - Natalie Portman With Musical Guest Dua Lipa

Hosting for her second time as the comedy moves into February is Oscar winner Natalie Portman. After being most recently seen in Jackie and Song to Song, Portman's next big screen effort, the sci-fi thriller Annihilation, debuts on February 23. Singer Dua Lipa makes her first appearance as musical guest to promote her self-titled debut album, which features the hit single, New Rules.

March 3 - Charles Barkely With Musical Guest Migos

March will bring NBA legend and Basketball Hall of Famer Charles Barkley back to SNL for his fourth hosting gig. The Emmy winner can be seen as an analyst for TNT's Inside the NBA and NCAA March Madness coverage on CBS. Hip hop trio Migos will head to the show for their first stint as musical guest, and will perform in support of their new album Culture II, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.

March 10 - Sterling K. Brown With Musical Guest James Bay

This Is Us star Sterling K. Brown will make his hosting debut on March 10. The Golden Globe, SAG and Emmy winner can currently be seen on the big screen in Black Panther, and will be back in theaters later this year in The Predator. Singer/songwriter and three time Grammy nominee James Bay will hit the stage for the first time to support his upcoming sophomore album that night.

March 17 - Bill Hader With Musical Guest Arcade Fire

Emmy winner and Saturday Night Live vet Bill Hader returns to the show for his second hosting gig on March 17. Hader's HBO hitman comedy Barry, which he is the creator/executive producer/director and star of, will premiere on March 25. Arcade Fire will join the show for their fourth appearance as musical guest during the broadcast. Their single, "Everything Now," from the album of the same name, recently became their first to hit No. 1 on any Billboard chart.

April 7 - Chadwick Boseman With Musical Guest Cardi B

SNL decided not to let Season 43 pass by without a visit from everyone's favorite Black Panther, as Chadwick Boseman will hit the stage for his first hosting gig on April 7. Known around the world for his part in the massive hit Black Panther, Boseman will next be seen on the big screen in Avengers: Infinity War when it opens on April 27. Cardi B will appear as the musical guest to promote her debut studio album Invasion of Privacy.

April 14 - John Mulaney With Musical Guest Jack White

Comedian and former SNL writer John Mulaney will make his first appearance as host on the April 14 episode. Mulaney is best known for helping write all those insane Stefon sketches with Bill Hader and he sometimes popped up on the Weekend Update segment of the show during his time there. Jack White will perform to promote his third solo studio album Boarding House Reach.

Amy Schumer is currently gearing up to bring the comedy this weekend with the release of I Feel Pretty, and critics have finally had a chance to see it. On that note, we have combed through some of the latest reviews to see what people are saying about the film. As it turns out: it looks like folks are mixed on I Feel Pretty, with CinemaBlend's own Corey Chichizola praising the PG-13 humor while also noting the fact that it drags at times. In Corey's review, he specifically wrote:

So, it looks like there's good and bad to be found in I Feel Pretty. Corey doesn't universally praise everything about the film (in fact, he notes there are clear pacing issues), but he seems to think that it has enough humor and emotional catharsis for audiences to connect to make it worth watching.

That sentiment is shared by Vox's take on I Feel Pretty, with the added caveat that the film (for everything that it does do right) still feels unfinished. Vox wrote:

With that said, other reviews of the film have been far less welcoming. In fact, The Wrap's take on the movie seems to think that nothing in I Feel Pretty works. They wrote:

Similarly, AV Club's review of I Feel Pretty takes specific aim at Amy Schumer's performance as Renee, highlighting issues with her work as she transitions away from her R-rated comfort zone in films like Trainwreck and Snatched. AV Club said:

I Feel Pretty is a pseudo-body swap comedy about a young woman named Renee (Amy Schumer) with self-esteem issues who begins to believe that she's beautiful after suffering a head injury at a spinning class. In addition to Schumer, the film also stars Saturday Night Live cast member Aidy Bryant, Manchester by the Sea's Michelle Williams, and Vice Principals' Busy Phillips. Additionally, the film was written and directed by How to be Single screenwriters, Abby Kohn and Marc Silverstein.

With all of those reviews in mind, I Feel Pretty currently has a 35% "Rotten" rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and we will keep you posted with more information related to the film as it becomes available to us. There are certain figures in entertainment who seem to always be met with criticism and outrage. While it's gone up and down throughout her career, actress/comedian Amy Schumer has been that person on many occasions. Schumer has a very strong perspective on the world, and is unapologetic in her responses. Her newest comedy I Feel Pretty may be less raunchy that her previous comedies, with its PG-13 rating, but the subject matter already has polarized critics. Luckily for Schumer and everyone involved, the finished product is a movie that is relatable, respectful, and has equal parts heart and comedy.

While Amy Schumer has toned down some of her more NSFW tendencies and language for I Feel Pretty, the film still feels like something straight out of her Comedy Central show Inside Amy Schumer. The movie focuses on the shallowness of online dating, self esteem issues, and ultimately finding one's own beauty. While doing all of that, it still manages to keep audiences busting a gut, while not allowing the comedy to become monotonous or saturated.

In their directorial debut, I Feel Pretty is helmed by writing duo Abby Kohn and Marc Silverstein, who are known for their work in dating comedies like How To Be Single, Never Been Kissed, and He's Just Not That Into You. Joining Schumer in the cast are some impressive ladies including Michelle Williams, Busy Phillips, Aidy Bryant, and even Naomi Campbell.

The story follows New Yorker Renee (Amy Schumer), who has a crippling lack of self confidence. Renee doesn't find the beauty in her own appearance and life, resulting in her missing out on opportunities because she's simply not brave enough to belief in herself and go for it. But all of that changes with one fateful SoulCycle Class.

Ultimately Renee hits her head at SoulCycle, and wakes up believing she's the most beautiful person in the room. This changes everything for her, and sets her upon a new career, relationship, and hilariously awkward encounters.

The use of SoulCycle class is not accidental, as I Feel Pretty takes plenty of jabs towards white girl culture, and the like. This is a favorite source of material for Amy Schumer, who enjoys pointing out the ridiculousness of dating, fitness, and her own privilege. Not nearly enough to simply have Renee hit her head at SoulCycle, one supporting actor actually utters the words "We got a white girl down" after the incident.

I Feel Pretty keeps the jokes coming at a solid pace, allowing the audience to remain engaged and entertained throughout most its runtime. Aside from its myriad bits, the movie also boasts an emotional and relatable narrative; Renee's insecurity in settings like job interviews and exercise classes is something that most of us have experienced at one point or another.

Seeing Renee so overly confident obviously creates plenty of moments for comedy, but it also provides a unique sense of joy and happiness for her. Renee is so secure in herself and her body that you can't help but smile-- even when there isn't a punchline ready. And what starts as a doomed bikini contest at a bar quickly becomes a joyous montage that reminds us why we fell in love with Amy Schumer in the first place.

I Feel Pretty was met with criticism regarding its subject matter, although the finished product will likely silence those in protest. Renee doesn't say she's skinny after her injury, just that she's beautiful. Ultimately the story is about her finding the beauty in her own body, which is something that those critics weren't aware of when the film's synopsis and trailers were released.

While there are some moments of lag, I Feel Pretty provides a joyous and hilarious new comedy for Amy Schumer's talents, while also providing an emotional core and relatable story.

Amy Schumer's new movie I Feel Pretty hits theaters this weekend, and the early trailers for the flick have given us a good idea of the premise. The film will follow Renee, a woman played by Amy Schumer who is very insecure about her looks. One day she has an accident and wakes up feeling totally self-confident and amazing. In the time since the trailer for the movie first came out, there have been various thinkpieces and complaints on the Internet about the upcoming comedy's plot, and now Amy Schumer has addressed criticisms about whether the movie sends the wrong message about loving your body. She said in a recent interview that there has been "projection" on the Internet, noting,

It looks like Amy Schumer has seen at least some of the thoughts people have had on the topic, which have tended toward saying the movie does not celebrate body positivity. Some of this may have accidentally been spawned by Schumer herself, as she previously told Ellen that after the accident in the movie, Renee wakes up feeling like she is "a supermodel." In a lot of people's minds that equates to tall and lithe and definitely skinny, but now Schumer has clarified what is actually happening in the movie. It's more about self-esteem than looking perfect, according to the actress.

As to whether or not Renee sees herself as skinny, Amy Schumer also told Vulture that is a misnomer. Per the actress, that's just people who have seen the trailer assuming when she looks in the mirror she's so addled she sees a totally different body type. In reality:

Women are often body conscious from a very young age; in fact, along with societal pressures many of us put pressure on ourselves, as well. And this isn't the first time Amy Schumer specifically has dealt with body-related backlash; she's well aware of fat shaming and had to deal with it when she was initially signed on for the Barbie movie, a role that eventually went to Anne Hathaway. Ultimately, it looks as if the message the movie is trying to send about finding self-esteem with what you have isn't a bad one, and perhaps what we've seen from the trailers and promos for the movie doesn't convey the exact message the movie does. Schumer's next silver screen appearance will be in I Feel Pretty, although it now looks like it won't make nearly as much money at her most recent projects.

Early projections for I Feel Pretty have the new Amy Schumer movie making around $13 million-$15 million during its opening weekend. While this is still a fair enough showing, it's far below the opening hauls for both Trainwreck and last summer's Goldie Hawn movie Snatched. Trainwreck made a ton of money after word of mouth helped it become a significant pop culture moment, taking $30.1 million in its opening weekend before cleaning up during its run. Meanwhile, Snatched opened to a more modest $19.5 million. While the verdict is still out regarding I Feel Pretty's critical performance, the decline in bankability for Schumer is no doubt concerning those involved.

While THR's early projections, for I Feel Pretty don't look as promising as Amy Schumer's past summer hits, there are some upsides going into its opening weekend. Mainly, that there isn't a ton of competition. The last big hit comedy was Blockers, although that's been in theaters for a few weeks new. Ultimately I Feel Pretty is going to be going up against Super Troopers 2, but they're not necessarily going to draw the same type audiences. And rather than a long awaited sequel, Schumer's movie provides a new story for moviegoers.

I Feel Pretty stars Amy Schumer as Renee, a hopelessly insecure girl living in New York City. She has poor self image, not seeing her own beauty, while also lamenting the state of her professional life. But after hitting her head in a near tragic Soul Cycle class, Renee suddenly believes she's the most beautiful woman in the world-- although she looks exactly the same to everyone else.

Part of the reason for these less than ideal opening projections may be due to some of the conversation revolving around I Feel Pretty. When the trailer first arrived, some critics took umbrage with the theme of the movie. They believed it was problematic that Amy Schumer's character only feels good when she believes she's a knockout. Ultimately everyone involved in the film has maintained they've handled the subject matter with respect, urging skeptics to see I Feel Pretty before passing judgement.

Break-ups suck. They're no fun for anyone. That's why it's always good to have a good friend nearby, especially one that can make you laugh. That's exactly what Jennifer Lawrence has with Amy Schumer. The comedian comforted her famous friend in her emotional time of need, and Schumer did it in a way that helped put a smile on Lawrence face. Now we know the funny (if somewhat cruel, honestly) way that Lawrence's celebrity BFF cheered her up a bit.

During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live! with Andy Cohen (via People), to promote Red Sparrow, Jennifer Lawrence discussed breaking up with her mother! director Darren Aronofsky. Down in the dumps about the separation, she received a little bit of unconventional comfort from her comedian bestie. After announcing the news to her confidant, Lawrence received a bouquet of flowers at her doorstep, along with a message from Schumer that's exactly what you would expect from the Trainwreck actress/writer. As Lawrence tells it,

The humorous-but-heartfelt response helps paint a picture of the loving relationship shared between the celebrity friends. Though they have only been friends for the past few years, their relationship only continues to grow stronger.

Jennifer Lawrence was one of only a handful of guests invited to Amy Schumer's secret wedding a couple weeks back with chef Chris Fischer. Lawrence and Schumer also wrote a comedy screenplay together a couple years ago, a raunchy comedy where they would play sisters, though it's unclear if that project will ever see the light of day. We hope it does. They have danced on top of Billy Joel's piano before. They also have a history of joking around together, like when Schumer won her first Emmy.

Jennifer Lawrence and Darren Aronofsky were dating a little over a year before they called it quits towards the end of last year. On a recent appearance on WTF with Marc Maron, Lawrence talked about the first time she dated the director and the sexual tension that arose before they became an item.

Hopefully, Jennifer Lawrence is mending her heart. In the meantime, at least she has Amy Schumer to cheer her up. Red Sparrow is now in theaters.

Nobody expected Amy Schumer to have conventional wedding vows. The raunchy comedienne likes keeping people on their toes, and that was certainly the case for those in attendance for her surprise nuptials a couple weeks ago. As the Inside Amy Schumer figurehead admitted in a recent interview, it didn't take long for her professions of love to turn R-rated. Be prepared for some pretty coarse utterances of love from this point.

As Amy Schumer discussed with fellow comedian Nikki Glaser on her Sirius XM series, You Up with Nikki Glaser (via E!), the Trainwreck actress/writer opted not to go the traditional route when reading her vows to her new husband, chef Chris Fischer. Instead, Schumer kept it real all the way through. And apparently so did her new husband. Maybe a little too real, according to the comedian, as she claims there was even a little bit of "heckling" by her boo. But Schumer says she was ultimately moved by what her new husband had to say about his famous wife, and she was left stunned by his own words.

Some of that "awful shit" in question might've even crossed the line a little bit for the unreserved comedian. But Amy Schumer is happy to report them back to the public -- no matter how weird and bizarre they might make her seem. After all, she's a married lady now. All bets are finally off.

Nikki Glaser was quick to point out, however, that Amy Schumer did have some nice, PG-friendly jokes in her speech as well. It wasn't all crass talk.

So, at least there was a joke or two that everyone could appreciate in the crowd. Of course, the wedding wasn't actually about the attendees. It was for Amy Schumer and Chris Fisher, and the funny lady is feeling pretty great about her recent marriage. Schumer and Fischer married close to Valentine's Day after only recently making their relationship public a day or two before. The comedian and the chef were only dating for a few months when they decided to tie the knot, and Schumer believes that only adds to their love. While being single was a big part of her stand-up comedy, she is still in a fine state of bliss.

Amy Schumer and Kim Caramele, her younger sister, are incredibly close. The bestie siblings have shared each other's side through everything. So when it came time for Amy to tie the knot (in secret) last week, Kim couldn't control her feelings about the moment. In a series of Instagram pictures posted by the comedian yesterday, Schumer revealed how overcome with blubbering emotions Kim became when she saw Amy's wedding dress for the very special occasion. Schumer also posted pictures of Kim reading a speech with her husband, Vincent Caramele, Kim singing Janis Joplin with comedian Bridget Everett, Kim and Amy sharing some time together in the pool and more. In this collection of photos, Schumer wrote a heartfelt message to her dear sister.

Caramele also hit up Instagram to share the same photos. After the wedding became public knowledge, Schumer went to Instagram to stress a few things about the unexpected, unannounced wedding. The first thing was that she was "not pregnant," which is good to know, and the second thing is that she doesn't want any gifts for the occasion, but "thank you for asking." Instead, Amy Schumer stresses that fans consider providing a donation to Everytown for Gun Safety, an anti-gun violence organization that Schumer cares about deeply. That's a particularly timely inclusion to put this week.

In addition to their family bond, Amy and Kim have also worked together as writing partners. Notably, Kim served as a writer and producer on Inside Amy Schumer, which won the siblings their first pair of Emmys back in 2015. Kim also helped Schumer as an uncredited co-writer on Trainwreck and Snatched, where she also served as an associate producer and executive producer, respectively. She also produced Schumer's comedy specials Live at the Apollo for HBO and The Leather Special, which Schumer directed, on Netflix. She is also currently listed as a writer on Barbie, which Schumer was once set to star in before dropping out of the titular doll role. She was recently replaced by Anne Hathaway. It's set for release on May 9, 2020.

Amy Schumer married chef Chris Fischer on Tuesday during a private ceremony in Malibu. It was shortly after the Trainwreck actress/writer made her relationship officially public on Instagram with a snap of the couple smooching during Ellen DeGeneres's birthday bash last Sunday, although rumors of their coupling began swirling back in November. The lavish, exclusive, star-studded event included nearly 80 people, with celebrities like Jennifer Aniston, Jake Gyllenhaal, Larry David, David Spade and Amy's famous best friend Jennifer Lawrence all notably in attendance, as reported by People.

When Schumer isn't seen getting married, she'll next appear in the summer comedy I Feel Pretty, set to be released on June 29th. It is already the source of controversy online. She is also slated to appear in the drama She Came To Me, from director Rebecca Miller (Maggie's Plan), which also stars Steve Carrell and Nicole Kidman. Schumer was also recently seen in Snatched last summer and Thank You For Your Service in the fall.

One of the most iconic toys the world has ever seen is getting her own movie. Originally, Amy Schumer was attached to the live-action Barbie movie, but now that she's out, she's got an opinion on the apparent frontrunner to replace her. The word on the street is that Anne Hathaway is now in talks to take on the lead. While Hathaway would seem to be a significant departure from Schumer, the Trainwreck actress has whole heartedly endorsed her for the role.

We're at the point now where pretty much every popular property and brand name is fair game for a movie adaptation so few were shocked when it was announced that a Barbie movie was in development. The announcement that Amy Schumer would play the lead, however, was met with interest. Unfortunately, for those who were looking forward to seeing Schumer's unique take on the material, it was not meant to be, as scheduling conflicts reportedly led to her being forced to drop out.

Amy Schumer is one of the few people who would have any idea if Anne Hathaway is perfect for the Barbie movie, since she knows more about the film than we do, so we'll have to take her word for it. The plot of the movie, at least when Schumer was involved, saw her playing a Barbie doll in a land of Barbies that wasn't like the rest of them. She had a different attitude than the rest of the people in her world and didn't fit in very well. Eventually, this Barbie would leave the Barbie world (cue Aqua) for our real world. This idea made Schumer seem like the perfect choice for the role since the entire idea was to be unlike Barbie. If Schumer thinks Hathaway can do the same role justice, we'll go with it.

While Anne Hathaway doesn't have a lot in common with Amy Schumer as an actress or comedian, the one thing the two do have in common is that they're not actresses we'd compare to Barbie, which would seem to keep the central idea of the plot intact. Hathaway can certainly do comedy, but her style would be a departure from what we would expect to see Schumer bring to the movie. This means we're either in for a very different sort of comedy from Anne Hathaway, or the comedy will be adjusted to better fit Hathaway.

As far as we know all this could be jumping the gun as Anne Hathaway has yet to be officially confirmed in the lead. Although, again, it's possible that Amy Schumer knows more than we do in this case. Stay tuned to CinemaBlend for more news on the planned Barbie movie as it happens.

Given the central premise of director Jonathan Levine's new comedy Snatched, tone is a tricky thing. Although the movie goes for laughs at each possible moment, the stakes of the story are generated by a plot that involves being kidnapped and pursued by criminals in a foreign country. It forced the filmmakers to do some tricky maneuvering through the film's post-production process... but also led to the cutting of what sounds like could be a very funny scene involving a game of strip poker.

During the Los Angeles press day for Snatched late last month, I had my own mother by my side interviewing the cast and filmmakers behind the movie -- and when sitting down with Jonathan Levine and producer Paul Feig she asked about cut sequences they were sad to lose in editing. The filmmakers explained they were sad to lose a sequence involving a bit of gratuitous nudity that they thought was hilarious -- but then explained why it didn't make the theatrical print:

Funny enough, I actually know that this scene was still included in Snatched up until just a few weeks ago, as I spoke with stars Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn about it in late March. That being said, for all of the reasons Jonathan Levine mentions it makes sense that this bit didn't make it into the film. In the sequence in question, Schumer and Hawn's characters have just narrowly escaped capture, and it would be somewhat throttling to see them suddenly become engaged in a game of strip poker.

Amy Schumer is funny. (Understandably, your preference for Schumer's style of comedy could influence that statement, but by and large, she's recognized as a gifted comedian.) Goldie Hawn, also, is funny. So many people surrounding this duo in the new movie Snatched -- from Ike Barinholtz and Wanda Sykes to Christopher Meloni and Joan Cusack -- are funny.

But do you know one thing that's not funny? Kidnapping. It's really hard to find the humor in life-threatening situations. This becomes evident the minute Snatched switches its gears into its kidnapping subplot, the central hook of the overall show. It immediately becomes offsetting and inorganic to have characters cracking jokes when in danger. The tonal shifts derail Snatched, and make me wonder if this premise ever had a chance to get off the ground, no matter who starred in it.

Snatched is episodic in nature, so it more closely resembles the sketch comedy approach of the comedian's Inside Amy Schumer than it does the cohesive (if overlong) Trainwreck, the feature that helped catapult her to silver-screen stardom. Because of that, though, the movie can't figure out what it wants to be, and keeps making left turns until it finds a narrative track that fits. That never happens, but that doesn't mean that Snatched isn't funny in spots along the way.

Schumer plays Emily, a directionless loser who gets fired from her job and dumped by her boyfriend before you've even had time to settle into your seat. Compounding those problems is the fact that Emily has a non-refundable trip to Ecuador which she booked with her beau (Randall Park), forcing her to invite her mom, Linda (Goldie Hawn), along for the ride. So far, the movie has tried on numerous hats, from broken-hearted "Manhattan gal" comedy to heart-tugging mother-and-daughter relationship study to a fish-out-of-water Americans in South America laugher. There are funny moments in each of these, but we sit through them wondering what kind of film director Jonathan Levine (The Night Before, 50/50) and screenwriter Katie Dippold (The Heat, Ghostbusters) want Snatched to be.

Surprise! It's none of them. Or all of them. But mostly, the movie becomes a kidnapping thriller (comedy?) when Emily and Linda, while entertaining the charms of local hunk James (Tom Bateman), end up getting kidnapped by an Ecuadorian crime ring so that they can... well, that's never clear. But hilarity is supposed to ensue. It doesn't.

It's hard to totally dismiss Snatched, because there's just enough going on inside the lines to recommend a viewing -- eventually, though probably on a cable channel down the road. Amy Schumer has a strong grasp on the vulgar and self-deprecating humor that helped establish and expand her sizable audience, and at its best, Snatched plays right to that base. Supporting players make the most of the leeway they are given to create colorful and memorable characters, like Barinholtz's agoraphobic mama's boy, or Cusack's mute vacationer who has special ops training. They elevate Snatched whenever Levine cuts away from the kidnapping subplot, which is a real anchor dragging the whole comedy down (outside of a wild cameo by Christopher Meloni, who steals the entire movie in a role I don't want to give away here).

Admittedly, Snatched would be a different movie if it ditched the kidnapping plot that's shoehorned into the middle of this excursion. However, I'd argue it'd actually be a better movie. Amy Schumer has solid jokes about relationship strains and mother-daughter difficulties in this film's opening act, and Dippold nurtures a blistering running gag about living your life versus living your life so you can share experiences on social. Part of me wishes this uneven and scattershot movie dedicated more time to this cast exploring those issues, instead of following poor Schumer and Hawn on a hopelessly contrived adventure through the jungles of the Amazon. Keep these two ladies together. Just put them in a better scenario.

The premise of the new comedy Snatched has what could be easily executed as a straight forward buddy movie, following its two leads as they are kidnapped while on vacation in South America and must escape their captors. The added twist thrown in for the feature, however, is that the duo is a mother-daughter pairing, and while that obviously changes the dynamic between the characters, stars Goldie Hawn and Amy Schumer believe that it actually makes the film the ultimate buddy movie. The actresses recently told us,

Thanks to the mother-centric plot of Snatched and the fact that it is coming out just in time for Mother's Day, my own mom flew out to Los Angeles last month to join me for interviews with the film's cast and filmmakers -- and while sitting down with Goldie Hawn and Amy Schumer discussed how being a mother-daughter story changed the movie for the better.

Obviously there are many different kinds of buddy movies out there, but there is weight to the argument put forth by Goldie Hawn and Amy Schumer here. The best buddy movies are the ones where the two main characters manage to drive each other absolutely insane, but still can't find a way to shake the bond that ultimately brings them together. The mother-daughter approach can most definitely enhance this situation, mostly because you can really push the extremes of their relationship while knowing that the foundation is so strong that they will find a way to bounce back to each other. Those extremes can most definitely be played for laughs, and very much are so in Snatched.

Directed by Jonathan Levine and based on a script by Katie Dippold, Snatched follows a young woman named Emily (Amy Schumer) who is trying to rebound from her recent breakup by finding someone to go with her on a trip she has planned to Ecuador. Having managed to alienate all of her friends, she finds herself desperate, and winds up asking her mother, Linda (Goldie Hawn) to go. This is a situation that is awkward all by itself, but things get much, much worse when they find themselves kidnapped and held for ransom.

Meeting a celebrity can be tough, especially if it's someone you've been attached to for several decades. Case in point: Amy Schumer's dad, Gordon, just happens to have a crush on Goldie Hawn, and thanks to their working together on this summer's Snatched, she was able to arrange a meeting between the two. The emotional results are something you can see for yourself below, and you may want to have some tissues ready, just in case.

With her connections to Goldie Hawn firmly secured, setting a meeting between Hawn and Amy Schumer's dad must have been insanely easy, and the payoff is the beautiful reaction that Gordon Schumer had when coming face to face with the legend that wowed the world in such films as The Sugarland Express, Overboard, Private Benjamin and Death Becomes Her. It's even sweeter when you consider the fact that Schumer's daughter brought her father's big time crush to see him at the assisted living facility that he's a resident of, due to his battle with multiple sclerosis.

This occurrence is just another story that heralds the comeback of Goldie Hawn, which was partially in thanks to Amy Schumer fighting the powers that be to allow her to be cast in Snatched. So obviously, after the two co-stars doing each other a solid, it seems like both Hawn and Schumer will be natural friends in the future. Such a scenario would make us hope that this is a signal that we'll be seeing more of Goldie Hawn on our screens in the future, which should also be a good sign for Gordon Schumer, as he'll more than likely be watching whatever she may produce in the coming years.

The best part about Gordon and Goldie's meeting is that it's an adorable event that counters your typical image of Amy Schumer. With her typically frank nature pertaining to sex and life in general, the other side of the equation undoubtedly gets lost in the public eye. While Snatched is being positioned for a Mother's Day release date, this dream come true is a beautiful example of Father's Day come early. Amy Schumer recently enjoyed a reminder of the sentiment that people from the Midwest are kind, and she decided to pay it forward in a big way. The 35-year-old comedic actress was on a jog in Chicago when nature called. In search of a restroom, Schumer paid a visit to a mattress store as a last resort. To Schumer's surprise, the manager was gracious enough to help her. The kind gesture impressed Schumer so much that she decided one good turn deserved another and bought a $2,000 mattress right there on the spot.

Sagine Lazarre, the manager of the Chicago mattress store Six Corners Mattress Firm, gave Amy Schumer permission to use the restroom. The gesture was simple enough, but according to People, Schumer approached Lazarre before leaving the store and asked which of the store's products she liked best. Then the kindhearted comedian bought the one Lazarre preferred and gave it to her as a gift. Perhaps the best part of the story is that the woman did not recognize Schumer. In fact, after the brief encounter, Sagine Lazarre did a quick Internet search to figure out who she was. Check out what Lazarre told the local news about what she felt upon discovering whom she had helped:

The mattress store employee said the $2,000 mattress would be a gift for her daughter, who had moved to an apartment. In other words, the woman did a good deed. The recipient of that good deed did one for her in return. Now the woman is again doing something nice for someone else. What a heartwarming story.

These days, Amy Schumer is a movie star. In fact, her film Snatched with Goldie Hawn hits theaters May 12. But it wasn't always so glamorous for her. Schumer's father owned a furniture store in New York City when she was young, but her family went bankrupt by the time she was a teenager, and that experience changed her life. Perhaps being in the mattress store reminded the humble star of her upbringing. Schumer's gesture was profound, and it highlights what a wonderful person she must be.

As far as the producer/studio fighting against Goldie Hawn's inclusion, I can only assume this is because it's been so long since she's done a movie. Hawn's last film project was 2002's The Banger Sisters opposite Susan Sarandon. Snatched is the actresses's first movie in 15 years, so investors might have been a bit nervous to put their stock back in Goldie Hawn.

But on the flip side, Goldie Hawn is a damn legend, which seems to be why Amy Schumer was so gobsmacked about the pushback. She's got an Oscar and Golden Globe for her work in Cactus Flower, and was also nominated for another Academy Award for Private Benjamin. Additionally, she's maintained pop culture royalty for her roles in popular films like Overboard, The First Wives Club, and Death Becomes Her. Goldie Hawn is a star, and her return to the silver screen is far overdue.

Nevertheless, Goldie Hawn persisted, with both she and Amy Schumer fighting for her inclusion in Snatched. Schumer seemed thoroughly impressed with Hawn's professionalism and temperament this time period. Telling EW,

If that's not some daughter/mother sentiments of love, I don't know what is.

If there's one comedian who has suddenly hit massive success its Amy Schumer. Her Comedy Central sketch series Inside Amy Schumer brought the comedian/actress a great deal of acclaim, leading to her silver screen breakout Trainwreck- which she both starred in and wrote. Trainwreck even earned Schumer a Golden Globe nomination for starring in the movie, and since then she's been booking jobs left and right. And although she recently left the Barbie movie due to scheduling conflicts, Schumer has already lined up her next project.

Amy Schumer will be producing an starring in the upcoming comedy I Feel Pretty. Still very much in development, I Feel Pretty has yet to release any plot details, but Schumer's involvement surely speaks volumes to its potential success. According to Variety, writing partners Abby Kohn and Marc Silverstein will write and co-direct the movie, marking both of their directorial debuts.

Unfortunately, that's all about all the information about I Feel Pretty that is available. Its currently set to film this summer and release in 2018, so perhaps we won't have to wait all that long for more information.

And this summer will bring another Amy Schumer-led blockbuster to the silver screen. Schumer is set to star alongside the legendary Goldie Hawn in Snatched, which will hit theaters in May. Another project written by Schumer, Snatched will see the two actresses as a mother/daughter pair whose vacation in South America goes very wrong. The film marks Hawn's first movie in over a decade, with her last credit being 2002's The Banger Sisters alongside Susan Sarandon.

While all of these film projects are exciting new ventures for Amy Schumer, they continue to jeopardize the future of her TV series. Inside Amy Schumer ran for four seasons on Comedy Central while Schumer was growing in popularity and notoriety. Trainwreck was released in the break between Season 3 and 4, forcing Schumer to cut the "man on the street" before putting the entire series on hiatus.

While Season 4 of Inside Amy Schumer still continued to delight, it's unclear if and when Schumer will return to the small screen again. Despite being renewed for a fifth season, Schumer has decided to take a break from her sketch show, instead focusing on projects like films, her book, and her recent Netflix comedy special. The actress still maintains that Season 5 will happen... someday, but there are no active plans for her to return to the series that helped make her a household name.

It's a surprising return to the big screen, but it was a move partially motivated by the fact that Hawn sees in the film what makes a lot of classic comedies great: legitimate depth of story.

Late last month I sat down with Snatched stars Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn in Las Vegas at CinemaCon -- the annual convention for movie theater owners -- and had a long discussion about their upcoming collaboration. Recognizing Hawn's veteran status in the comedy game, I took the opportunity to ask how comedy has changed in the time she's been in the industry -- and she explained how she feels as though the jokes to story ratio has been tweaked in the last few decades. Said the actress,

It's certainly a noteworthy point -- and one that other creatives have levied in recent years. Hell, it was at the center of a multi-episode arc of South Park used to take down the mindless comedy of Family Guy.

As Goldie Hawn continued, however, she noted that she doesn't feel Snatched is that way, and instead offers up something more than just cheap laughs to affect audiences. Illustrating a connection between the new movie and Amy Schumer's last starring vehicle, Judd Apatow's Trainwreck, she explained that watching the fully adventure film with have a certain depth that will actually stick with audiences:

It's been just a few days since we learned Amy Schumer would no longer be attached to the Mattel Barbie movie. In that time, we've heard literally nothing about where the Barbie movie is at or who could replace the actress in the big fish-out-of-water story. However, that hasn't stopped Amy Schumer herself from openly discussing who she would love to see get cast in the Barbie movie. Here's what she had to say while promoting Snatched at CinemaCon.

Mindy Kaling wasn't the only leading lady that Amy Schumer listed as a potential replacement. She also joked around that Goldie Hawn, who co-stars with her in Snatched and only recently got back into the acting game. She also hinted that any of the ladies in HBO's Big Little Lies could and should be cast. (That includes Shailene Woodley, Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Zoe Kravitz and Laura Dern.) Mindy Kaling, however, seemed to be a serious response and would be a good fit for a number of reasons.

Mainly, she's a comedienne like Amy Schumer who is capable of ad-libbing and would totally fit into the role of a Barbie character who doesn't fit in with all the other Barbies. She also has proved on The Mindy Project that she has the fashionista personality to easily be envisioned as part of the Barbie world, and with The Mindy Project starting to wrap up, she should be free sooner rather than later.

We're also assuming that Sony is wanting a somewhat young person to take on the role, and while the likes of Laura Dern and Goldie Hawn are still capable of doing a lot of great work on the big screen, like Amy Schumer, Mindy Kaling is still in her thirties. Assuming that's probably the rough age range the studio is looking for, that's also a bonus for Kaling.

At this point, it's hard to tell how Mindy Kaling would feel about taking on this sort of role and whether or not that would bet he direction that Sony and Mattel would want to ultimately go in. We don't even know if the Barbie movie will get off of the ground or will be shelved until further notice in the wake of Amy Schumer quitting the movie due to scheduling conflicts. Beyond Schumer's comments to Yahoo, it could be some time before there's any word on where this property will ultimately go, but we'll keep you posted every step of the way.
