Yash's HOH week was flipped on its head when Rick Devens used his Diamond Power of Veto, and it seems the vets are once again taking hold of Season 28. With Kamu Kirk on the block and the Vets forming a new majority alliance with F.A.P., it looked like they had a path to the endgame. Unfortunately, for them, it looks like it may not work out the way they hope.

Melody And Mallory Realized They're At The Bottom Of The Totem Pole With The Mosh Pit

For those not watching Big Brother online, there's a new majority alliance called Mosh Pit, which consists of Dee Valladares, Rick Devens, Angela Murray, Barrett Pfeiffer, Drew Campbell, Melody Morris and Mallory Aurichio. It's a solid group though, thanks to Barrett and Drew's messiness, it may be over after just one eviction, or maybe even sooner.

Mallory and Melody were having some spirited conversations in private yesterday, and it was all about feeling betrayed by Drew and Barrett. They believed they'd had a solid group since the start, but we've seen in recent weeks that they trust the two boys less and less. The tipping point, however, seems to be when they clocked Barrett directly fed Dee information from an HOH room convo she wasn't a part of.

After that, Angela accidentally let slip that the Icons have been working with Barrett and Drew for a while, which was also something Melody and Mallory didn't know. Essentially, it's led to the realization that the Mosh Pit was not F.A.P joining with the Icons, but rather The Crossovers pulling in two extra Houseguests for numbers.

Being at the bottom of the alliance means you're expendable, and it isn't where you want to be if you want to win Big Brother. As such, it looks like the two women are plotting their next move, and it involves turning the tables on the vets and possibly starting another alliance.

Will Melody And Mallory Flip On The Alliance Now, Or Will They Wait?

There's an opportunity for Melody and Mallory to flip on the Mosh Pit this week, with Angela up on the block. They discussed this already, and it seems the general consensus is they intend to take out Kamu if he's able to be evicted.

Assuming Kamu wins the BB Blockbuster, this leaves an interesting scenario open if Haley Thogmartin and Angela are up for eviction. Melody and Mallory could be swing votes to save Haley, and then send Angela out the door. This would weaken the Icons and potentially gain them favor with those outside the alliance.

Realistically, however, I don't think Melody and Mallory will save Haley unless something major changes in their relationships. I haven't seen any of them speak since Haley's wild HOH, in which she went off on Melody and others. Plus, leaving Kamu and Haley together would allow an opportunity for them to take the two women's place in the Mosh Pit and put a target on their backs.

The best play, in my opinion, would be to work with the Mosh Pit for this week, and then push the following HOH to either get Devens or Dee out of the game. Basically, Melody and Mallory need to ensure Drew and Barrett are more reliant on them, and that won't happen with the Icons still in the house. This week wouldn't be the worst time to make a move and blow things up, but I think waiting until next week is far better.

We'll see if Mallory and Melody make any more moves for themselves as Big Brother continues on CBS on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 8:00 p.m. ET. Season 28 is really flying by at this point, so make sure to stay on top of what's happening as we get closer to the finale with each passing day!

Chuk Anyanwu was blindsided when he left the Big Brother house during Lala Verrett's HOH week, and even that wasn't quite as shocking as the wild conversation he had with Taylor Brown prior. Chuk didn't know what to expect when he signed up for the reality series, but I would wager he never imagined he'd be having an intimate discussion about his nether regions.

In a moment that went viral with those watching Big Brother online, Taylor confronted Chuk while he was playing chess with Haley Thogmartin. She claimed that his poor hygiene "down there" was making the bathroom have an odor, and that he needed to "manscape" to correct it. CinemaBlend asked Chuk about the moment, mentioning that it went viral, and wanted his thoughts on how he felt about Taylor talking to him about that:

I don't think it's any surprise that Chuk was upset to be accused of something that feels so personal and private, though he was using a bathroom shared by several other Houseguests. Taylor can insist all she wants he was the problem, but at the end of the day, it's not like anyone knows for sure.

As mentioned, the moment went from being viewed by those watching the live feeds with a Paramount+ subscription to the larger fandom on the internet. After finding out he was the subject of conversation and memes for that reason, Chuk only had this to say:

Chuk had zero plans of working with Taylor had he survived the week, which makes one wonder what the current house dynamic would be. Would Yash have kept Chuk off the block during his HOH week, or would he have effectively been in the same position Haley Thogmartin is in this week?

I guess it doesn't really matter, as Big Brother's Chuk is now on the outside, and presumably won't get to talk to Taylor anytime soon. That said, it seems he has a lot to say, as he continued with how inconsiderate she was talking about that:

Chuk won't be the only Houseguest to leave Big Brother Season 28 with a grudge against another Houseguest. Jason De Puy told CinemaBlend he took issue with Kamu Kirk calling him his "Zesty Bestie," citing it as more of a microaggression than anything.

Meanwhile, the action rages on in the Big Brother house. There's word that Rick Devens may use his power, showing once again it was the right call to bring him in to shake things up (though maybe not to win; we'll see.) I'll be curious to see what Chuk has to say about it once he gets settled in at home, assuming he plans to tune in and watch.

Rick Devens has already shaken up Big Brother Season 28 a couple of times, but he's looking to make his biggest move yet. With Yash Patel's Week 6 Head of Household set to send home one of the two Icons, he's making a play that just might save them both.

For those not watching Big Brother online, the live feeds revealed Yash followed through on his promise of nominating Dee Valladares, Angela Murray, and Haley Thogmartin. While it seemed like Haley would be the easy target after her disastrous HOH, it looks like yet another former Red Corner member could be blindsided if Devens can pull off this risky move.

Yash Won The Week 6 Veto

Yash is batting a thousand this week, at least when it comes to competitions. The Big Brother Houseguest rounded out his HOH week with a veto win as well and can do as he chooses without having to negotiate with anyone. He was seen as a non-factor at the start of Season 28, but Yash is doing all the right things for someone who wants to win Big Brother.

Whether he'll use it remains up for debate. Yash and Kamu Kirk have discussed the possibility of maybe pulling down Haley or Angela, and putting up Barrett Pfeiffer in their place. They haven't made any firm decisions yet, though I'll personally be interested to see how the rest of the house responds if he pulls down Haley based on what's on the way.

Rick Wants To Use The Diamond Power Of Veto, But It's A Huge Risk

Rick is in a tough spot, as the one person he's told about the Diamond Power of Veto is now expecting him to use it to save her from the block. He hoped he could convince Dee to use her BB Bribe to force him to use it, so he could pocket $5,000 for saving his Survivor buddy from going home in the worst-case scenario. Dee has waffled on this a bit, as she thinks it would be reckless to flush both of their powers this week.

Unfortunately for her, Rick kind of feels the same. If he uses the Diamond Power of Veto, he can take down Dee and decide who goes up in her place. Right now, he's planning to swing for the fences and put up Kamu in hopes they can save Angela, with the house unwilling to let Kamu survive the week if he loses the Blockbuster.

The problem with this is every Houseguest in the game more or less assumes Rick has a power. They just don't know what it is. If he does this move, everyone will know it was him, and there will be no denying his solid relationship with Dee. Furthermore, Kamu could survive the BB Blockbuster and then go to the rest of his allies and campaign for Rick to go up on the block the following week.

If Devens opted not to use the DPOV, he could maintain his good standing with Kamu and the other men in the house, and it's entirely possible Dee wins the Blockbuster and survives eviction anyway. Of course, there's no guarantee Angela survives the week, but that may not be of importance to Rick.

Right now, Rick is trying to formalize The Crossovers (Dee, Angela, Devens, Drew, Barrett) uniting with F.A.P. (Barrett, Drew, Melody, Mallory). That formalized alliance, plus saving one of the Icons, could (in theory) have the votes to save the other from the block. It's not a guarantee, however, and there's so much that can happen. You just have to wonder if Devens isn't better off letting Dee and Angela fend for themselves and saving that power for himself.

The Vets, or "Icons" as they're called in the episodes, might be playing Big Brother on the back of their heels as Week 6 likely will be their first week facing real adversity. A new Head of Household was crowned, and they seem firm on the decision to put up at least two of the vets this week and send one packing.

CinemaBlend is watching Big Brother online, and with Haley Thogmartin surviving, I was already optimistic about this week being extra chaotic. Fortunately, it's looking even better than I expected, as a quiet Houseguest thus far is set to make a big splash.

Yash Won The Week 6 HOH

Yash Patel was essentially a non-factor in the early weeks of this season, and now he's running the house with what feels like a growing alliance around him. He seemingly gained some allies in Taylor Brown and Lala Verrett, and with them growing closer to Kamu Kirk, I can see some formalized deal between all of them being set this week. If that happened, that's great for Yash, who still has solid relationships elsewhere if the house dynamic shifts again. He's doing what it takes to win Big Brother, whether intentional or not.

Dee And Angela Are Likely Going Up, Which Could Cause Problems For Rick

Yash told Kamu overnight on the live feeds that he wants three people on the block: Angela Murray, Dee Valladares, and Haley Thogmartin. That's a wild lineup that will set up some huge drama for this week, assuming he doesn't change course. That's not entirely out of the question, as it feels like Yash's ultimate goal is to send a female Houseguest packing.

In terms of the vets, they'll be forced to play the game at a disadvantage for the first time, and I'm eager to see how it's handled. For example, will Dee use her bribe power to secure a vote to stay, or avoid nomination entirely? Will the newly formed F.A.P. alliance (Drew Campbell, Barrett Pfeiffer, Melody Morris and Mallory Aurichio) be a unified front on sending a vet out, or will Drew and Barrett move to protect them?

Then there's Angela, who we just saw fly off the handle last week when Haley lied and accused her of throwing Dee under the bus in a conversation. If she's nominated, I would assume her outbursts and paranoia will increase, based on Season 26. Did I mention she'd be on the block during her birthday if Yash goes through with his plans?

Then there's Rick Devens, and how he factors into this. Dee knows he has a power, and Angela strongly suspects he does. If they lose the veto, will they expect him to use that lifeline to get them out of trouble? What will happen if Rick decides to hold onto it for himself?

I think there's a strong possibility that this week ends with the Icons going their separate ways. Rick seems to have some strong ins with many of the men of the house, and Dee has Barrett, and could definitely wriggle her way into F.A.P with some persuading. Even Angela seemed to smooth the waters with Haley, so it'd be interesting to see what goes down if one of the Icons leaves this week.

Whether that happens, we'll just have to wait and see! Big Brother airs on CBS on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 8:00 p.m. ET. I'm excited for a wild week of feeds and can't wait to see how the Vets respond now that they're no longer in control of the game.

Big Brother winner Jun Song is speaking out about Dee Valladares and how she feels that Season 28 is being rigged to hand her the win. The Season 4 winner is sounding off on social media and shared how she thinks the Survivor winner was set up to get that grand prize money.

Jun has been all over X this season, posting everything from opinionated comments to actual commentary as fans watch Big Brother online or over on CBS. After watching the latest episode, which featured Haley Thogmartin lying and Angela Murray flipping out, Jun had a different takeaway in regards to how the episode was treating Dee:

Jun's comments come in the midst of Lala Verrett's HOH and an impressive veto win by Kamu Kirk. Dee was featured in the latest episode, mainly in regard to creating an alliance with Kamu and her role in Angela's big blowup.

The Big Brother winner continued to post about the situation, noting she had nothing against the Survivor winner. Instead, the criticisms were more targeted toward the show's producers and the CBS network, as she explained below:

Big Brother kicked off Season 28 with the announcement that Dee, Devens, and returning Houseguest Angela Murray were in the season and would be the only ones able to compete in the Week 1 Head of Household competition.

There's also the BB Time Capsule, which allows fans to vote on which Houseguest will have the opportunity to compete for a superpower or punishment to use in the game. The first three winners of the fan vote were Angela, Devens, and Dee, which felt probable ahead of time, considering they had an existing fanbase headed into Big Brother.

When a Big Brother fan questioned Jun's accusation that the show was rigging the season, she had this to say:

Big Brother's 1000th episode is fast approaching, and many former Houseguests are expected to attend the episode. Jun Song would be a great addition to the Season 28 celebration, though- who knows if she'll appear now.

Lala Varrett's Week 5 HOH has turned Big Brother Season 28 around, with the tables turned on the Red Corner alliance. While Kamu Kirk has become a hot commodity in the house as a "free agent" after his veto win, Haley Thogmartin and Chuk Anyanwu are struggling.

Being on the block with Barrett Pfeiffer hasn't helped, but both will struggle a way to move forward, whichever one of them survives the upcoming eviction. It's frustrating to watch, especially with Haley, because I think she has the right tools to be really good at Big Brother. The evidence is right there in her fight with Angela Murray and how she went against the most chaotic Houseguest in the season, and could continue to use how she set that off to her advantage if she sticks around.

Haley Casually Lied About A Conversation With Angela, And Masked It Really Well

Those watching Big Brother online already knew about Angela cussing out Haley, but we only had tellings of the event from other Houseguests because the feeds were cut. Now, with EW and the episode showing the fight in its entirety, there's one key detail that no one but Haley could've shared about that fight. For those who need the reminder, Angela flew off the handle on Haley after the latter alleged Angela told her about Dee Valladares trying to flip the vote. As Haley said in her confessional, that was a lie:

Haley's lie caused Angela to spiral and cuss her out so badly that Lala ended up escorting her from the room. Dee hasn't entirely confirmed one way or another whether she trusts Angela used her name or not, but Haley's stoic reaction would really have me second-guessing what went down in that conversation. People who want to win Big Brother have to lie, and Haley showed she can do it well.

If Haley Harnessed Her Ability To Lie And Stir, She Could Turn Her Game Around

It may feel like Haley's odds of staying in the Big Brother house are slim, but that's not entirely true. In fact, people who seem unlikable, or that no one would work with them, often find themselves surviving the week, because everyone would sooner leave someone in the game with no chance to win than someone who can.

Haley can survive this week, but can she better her standing in the game? First, she'd have to stop isolating herself from the rest of the house and show that she's willing to work with others and let the past be the past. Right now, it doesn't seem like she's interested in doing that, which makes her chance of making any strides in the game even if she stays slim.

If she does find some ins, however, her ability to tell the right lie at the right time would be an invaluable skill that would take her far in Big Brother. It reminds me of the time when Jackson Michie used a lie to sink Tommy Bracco in Season 21, and it ultimately led to him winning the game. If Haley could own this skill and use it for the game, she could reverse her fortune in this house.

We'll see if she wakes up and goes for it, as Big Brother continues on CBS on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 8:00 p.m. ET. Personally, I think this house would be more entertaining if Haley stays, so I'm rooting for that outcome at the end of this week.

Big Brother's 1000th episode is just around the corner, and as promised by Julie Chen Moonves and others, it's going to be quite the event. It's been revealed that the August 27th episode will include a live eviction, and among guest stars and other events, there's one thing mentioned that absolutely terrifies me.

I'm hype to see the former Houseguests attending, but I can't help but feel freaked out by the promise of the "summer's biggest twist" playing out on the big night. Whether you're watching on CBS or watching Big Brother online with your Paramount+ subscription, you should be on alert because midseason twists can really throw a wrench in things.

Big Brother Has A Bad Track Record With Midseason Twists As Of Late

A midseason twist should rattle any Big Brother fan who has watched recent seasons, as there are a few memorable ones that ended in tragedy. Most recently would be the White Locust twist, which removed Rachel Reilly from the game without being evicted, and that's just last season's twist.

There was also "BB Zombies" in Season 25, in which the season ground to a halt as the twist negated a double eviction and brought Jared Fields and Cameron Hardin back into the house. It killed the momentum in the game and brought things to a boring and ultimately inconsequential stall.

Then there's the split house in Season 24, in which there were two HOHs and each side had zero way of communicating with one another. It led to Joseph Abdin's eviction, which crushed fans' hearts at the time as he and Taylor Hale were close.

The point being, midseason twists have sucked as of late, and I'm scared Big Brother may be cooking up another one. That said, it could be something that doesn't directly impact the game, like the grand prize finally being bumped up to a million dollars. That would be a great twist, and far better than what we've seen in other midseason twists.

Season 28 Is Finally In A Good Place, And I Fear Another Twist Could Upset That

Big Brother Season 28 is finally in a good spot, after the Red Corner was blown up and the alliances in the house were reshuffled. Things are on a good path, so it would be a shame if three weeks later, we're faced with a twist that could knock things back offtrack once again.

There is a part of me that thinks I'm being overdramatic, as there's also a chance this twist could be something that becomes iconic and eventually transitions into being a standard part of the season. It happened with the BB Blockbuster, so there's always a chance we could see it happen again.

On the same token, I've been watching Big Brother long enough to know that expecting the unexpected can have some predictable results. Big twists either go one of three ways: it's overpowered, and fans complain; it's underpowered, and therefore irrelevant; or the Houseguests find a way around it or manipulate it. I'm scared about all of those things happening, especially with so many powers already active in the game.

We'll see what the big twist is when Big Brother's 1000th episode airs on CBS on Thursday, August 27th at 8:00 p.m. ET. Fingers crossed I'm eating crow when the big episode comes, because right now, I can't stop thinking about all of the ways this twist could go sideways.

Dee Valladares was a key piece in the big blindside that turned Big Brother around, and she's already cooking up another big move. With Lala Verrett's Week 5 Head of Household effectively resetting alliances, and Kamu Kirk continuing his stint as a "free agent" after his veto win, Dee sees one Houseguest standing in her way of scooping him up and helping the icons.

Taylor Brown is officially on the Survivor winner's radar, and it's not a good thing. Dee officially sees Taylor as a threat to her game, and as we've seen in recent weeks, she can make things happen. Here's what's going on between the two, and whether Taylor has what it takes to survive a potential showdown with Dee.

Dee Is Coming For Taylor After Recent Chatter Involving Targets

While those watching Big Brother online may confirm this feud's been secretly bubbling for a while, it feels it's really taken off thanks to Drew Campbell. Whether intentional or not, he set Dee on a crusade against Taylor when he said the latter mentioned Dee was one of four people who had yet to go on the nomination block. Drew seemingly made things worse when he admitted he wasn't aware of that until Taylor said it.

Dee immediately took this information to both Angela Murray and Rick Devens, essentially stating that they needed to target Taylor and her growing alliance with Yash Patel and Lala, so they could get Kamu back in their corner. She did say getting out either Yash or Taylor would be fine, but I would assume Taylor would be the best-case scenario for this plan to work.

Can Taylor Overcome A Battle With One Of The Icons?

Taylor's joked that she's been playing Big Brother for two since the start, having to guide Lala for the game, but there's an upside to that. Week 5 was essentially her HOH week, and she capitalized on her pre-existing relationship with Kamu and Yash to form a non-formalized alliance with them and Lala. She's also smart to shift the target for next week onto one of the Icons, reminding all remaining that they have yet to touch the block.

Taylor seems to know all she needs to do to win Big Brother, but can she overcome Dee putting a target on her back? It's going to be her biggest challenge yet, and I think it's going to be one of those situations where the one who wins between them will be the one who can fire the first shot.

It puts some added pressure for both going into Week 6, especially for Taylor. I don't see a ton of people talking about putting Dee on the block, but now Dee's already likely got the other Icons ready to put up Taylor. She's going to need to cross her fingers she gets a friendly face in the HOH next week, or that her growing alliance isn't a short-lived agreement that only lasts as long as either Chuk Anyanwu or Haley Thogmartin walks out the door.

Big Brother Season 28 took a hard turn when the Tool Shed was officially blown up and LaLa Verrett's Week 5 Head of Household busted the game wide open. Lala, with some help from Taylor Brown, completely dismantled the Red Corner by nominating Haley Thogmartin, Chuk Anyanwu, and Barrett Pfeiffer for eviction.

Obviously, Barrett is a pawn in this situation, and it seems like Lala hopes to take out Haley if this week goes according to plan. The veto could've changed that, but as those watching Big Brother online know, it might not be a problem thanks to the one former Red Corner member causing a small war as all sides scramble to scoop him up.

Kamu Won The Week 5 Veto Competition

Despite another ally winning HOH after his Week 3 reign, Kamu was in a terrible position after Haley's week ended with a blindside eviction of Lyric Medeiros. Haley believed he was responsible for the vote flip, and while he had zero idea it was happening either, it became clear to him very quickly that Haley and Chuk were ready to throw him under the bus to protect themselves as the tables turned.

Fortunately for Kamu, he had a friend in Taylor, who convinced Lala not to nominate him along with his Red Corner allies. Now, he's won the veto, and to further confirm his loyalty, has explicitly told Lala and many others he has zero plans to pull anyone off the block. Granted, there's still time to reverse that decision, but as of Sunday afternoon, he seems pretty determined.

Kamu has gone from house target to the hottest free agent each group wants to recruit for their cause. Right now, it feels like it's going to come down to him aligning with Taylor or Dee Valladares, but personally, I don't think he has to race to pick any side. The more people who see him as valuable, the better chance he has at surviving.

Angela Blew Up On Haley With A Rant Allegedly Wilder Than Her "Crazy Eyes" Moment

Ahead of the veto, Saturday was a wild day for feeds because someone finally activated Angela Murray. After a rough night with little sleep, Angela felt the need to go to Haley and confess that she voted to evict Lyric, and needed to get that off her chest. It seemed she went to Haley thinking the apology would grant her forgiveness, but Haley was unmoved.

Fast forward to some time later, and Angela was called up to a conversation Haley and Chuk were having with Kamu, Dee, and Yash. She immediately jumped into an apology about the vote, again, despite that not being why she was called in. The situation escalated, with Angela saying all she could do was apologize, but then Haley made the mistake of saying something disrespectful back.

We don't 100% know what was said, because Big Brother immediately cut the live feeds as it turned into a shouting match. Unfortunately, it seems as though producers are going to try to save it for the Wednesday episode, even though Angela herself confessed it was so expletive-laden that she doubted any of it could air.

Yash was later heard on feeds discussing what went down, and essentially said it started when Haley hinted that Angela told her to "trust her gut" in regards to people who flipped the vote. Allegedly, Angela jumped to her feet and, as they said it, just shouted every curse word in the book in a genuine meltdown that both Yash and Chuk would say was incomprehensible at times.

Given Big Brother brought Angela back because of her unpredictability and past moments like the "Crazy eyes" fight or her showdown with Jason De Puy, I feel like we're going to see some version of that fight. I will say, I'm disappointed the feeds were cut, especially if the reason was that the hope was people would tune in to watch it. What exactly is the point of having the live feeds if we can't see the raw and uncensored footage of what we would never see on television?

Just as we predicted, the icons specifically flipped the house on the Red Corner and turned Haley Thogmartin's Week 4 HOH upside down. However, just when I was about to lose hope in my favorite reality show, it looks like the rest of the episodes on the 2026 TV schedule could turn this season around thanks to Week 5's HOH.

CinemaBlend is watching Big Brother online and even burned the midnight oil to see the wall competition unfold. Here's who won the Week 5 Head of Household competition and how it has a good chance of shaking up the game.

Lala Won The Week 5 HOH

In what, no joke, might be the biggest shock of Big Brother of the last decade, LaTrice "Lala" Verrett won the Week 5 HOH. It's shocking, of course, because the 58-year-old is officially the oldest civilian Houseguest to have ever won the famous wall competition. Shoutout to Kato Kaelin, however, who still holds the overall record after winning the competition at 59 on Celebrity Big Brother.

However, there's another reason this surprised me. Up to this point, Lala was a non-factor in everything happening in the house. She was muted because she was sobbing so loudly during Rick Devens' wild nomination ceremony, and she kept interrupting Jason De Puy and Kamu Kirk's showdown during the tea party to ask questions about herself. Now, the wildcard of Season 28 is running the house in Week 5, and she's got some big plans.

Lala Has Some Nomination Plans That Will Turn This Season Around

Lala talked to Taylor Brown overnight and laid out her plans for nominations when the time comes. Right now she's planning on putting up Barrett Pfeiffer, Drew Campbell, and Kamu, and there's talk of a backdoor option to send out Haley. Lala also talked about putting Devens on the block, which would've been a wild game move, but Taylor advised against it.

I hate to say this will unofficially be Taylor's HOH this week, but anyone watching the Big Brother live feeds would probably agree. Taylor has more or less played the game for two from the start, as Lala is woefully unaware of how the game works and what she should or shouldn't be doing at all times.

As such, I would imagine that means we'll see moves that are mutually beneficial to Lala and Taylor this week. I think the worst-case scenario for the fans would be Haley or Chuk winning the veto and saving Kamu, which would inadvertently force Lala to put up someone who could end up helping her game in the long run. If you're rooting for this season to turn around, root against that!

Haley Thogmartin's Week 4 Head of Household week may go down as a bigger week than it currently feels, based on what I'm hearing on the live feeds. It seems her nominating Drew Campbell officially opened up the floodgates for the Vets and Red Corner alliance to target each other, as Houseguests talk about who among them might need to go next.

CinemaBlend is watching Big Brother online, and as another HOH looms, it seems as though the majority alliance could fracture depending on who gets power in Week 5. Suffice it to say, I'm very interested to see who goes home and how it shakes things up between the Vets and Red Corner.

Haley Told Angela She Sees Dee As A Floater

Despite Taylor Brown winning the Week 4 veto competition, Haley is feeling pretty comfortable this week. Comfortable enough she felt empowered to call out Lyric Medeiros about how she's playing the game, and to tell Angela Murray she's not a fan of how Dee Valladares is playing. Ironically enough, Angela knows that Dee more or less fed Haley info about what to do when it came to potentially saving Drew from the block this week. Nevertheless, calling someone in your alliance a "floater," is usually soft-launching you don't see them as vital to your game, and that you'd like to send them out. If Haley thinks Angela is going to keep that Haley and Kamu think Dee's a floater under her hat, she's got another think coming. She's loyal to the Vets, and I guarantee it'll come up when the time is right.

Dee Wants Kamu Out ASAP

Dee is making moves as well and was heard talking to the cameras late at night about what she needs to have happen. To start, she said that she needs to keep Drew safe, following her slightly suspicious change of heart days ago. Now, she's laid out some more details, saying she'd use Drew to get Kamu out "ASAP":

Was it always Dee's plan to convince Haley to put Drew up, only for it to ultimately pit him against the Red Corner? I don't think so, based on how she was plotting to get him out with Angela weeks ago. That said, people who want to win Big Brother always have to adapt, and Dee has shown she's great at adapting.

I think the odds of this alliance blowing up this coming week is high, even if Drew is ultimately sent home. In fact, I think his exit would make it all the more important for the Vets to take a shot at the Red Corner, and for both sides to start pulling in others to strengthen their numbers.

My fingers are crossed for a House shakeup as Big Brother continues with new episodes on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 8:00 p.m. ET. An endurance comp HOH is on the way, so we'll see who ends up running the house in the coming week!

Big Brother is no stranger to controversy and ,while Season 28's first instance involved Angela Murray and comments about the past, this latest one firmly impacts this year. Survivor vets Rick Devens and Dee Valladares are about to turn Haley Thogmartin's Week 4 Head of Household upside down, to say the least. Not only that, but they might've had some help from the show's producers.

After Taylor Brown won the Week 4 veto, the weeks-long plan to blindside Drew Campbell and end The Crossovers alliance was set in motion. Then, after all the votes were set in stone, Dee and Devens got to work reversing course, and those watching Big Brother online can't help but be suspicious about how it went down after one conversation.

Dee And Devens Suddenly Changed Course On Evicting Drew, And The Diary Room Was Mentioned

One of the biggest advantages Dee and Devens had going into this season of Big Brother is that they've been on reality TV before and had the experience of how reality competition television is made. There's always talk of the game within the game, and part of that means dissecting what producers are asking in Diary Room sessions, because they can clue Houseguests in on what storyline they're planning for episodes, or how their in-game decisions may play out.

With that context, I present this clip from @regs_mwah in which we see Devens lean in to whisper something in Dee's ear, not long after she suggested saving Drew to him out of left field. As that happens, Dee says "La la la" and other gibberish into her own microphone, making it impossible to hear what Devens is whispering. Despite that, we catch him saying the following as he pulls away:

Clearly, a lot is happening in this conversation we can't pick up on. I'm speculating, however, that Dee and Devens were discussing the fact that Big Brother's production team might've indirectly clued them in that targeting Drew might be a bad idea for the health of their alliance. As live feed viewers know, it's against the rules for Houseguests to discuss Diary Room sessions with each other, which might be why Dee was intentionally making sure no one heard what was said.

Whatever the case may be, it's certainly suspicious that Dee had such a wild change of heart when she's literally been plotting with Angela for a couple of weeks to set up evicting Drew. Now, with it all but assured he'd leave unless he won the BB Blockbuster, she'd rather save him? It's odd, especially with no slow lead-up or conversations suggesting that ahead of this.

Drew Seems To Be Safe From Eviction, Which Is Bad News For Melody And Lyric

Dee's change of heart rallied everyone in the Tool Shed to save Drew, which is greater news for him than he'll ever know. Drew has never believed he's in any real danger this entire week, and he hasn't really been campaigning to stay. It's a non-issue now so he's safe but, now, it seems either Melody Morris or Lyric Medeiros is on their way out.

As for which of the two is more likely to leave, that's still up in the air. There's an argument that taking out Melody would force Drew into continued loyalty to the Tool Shed and stop him from playing both sides of the house. If the goal is to keep Drew loyal, taking out Melody might be the move.

That said, other Houseguests see Melody as a non-factor in Big Brother at the moment, at least compared to Lyric. The latter is gaming hard, has a veto win and is making moves to try and align with the Red Corner. She might be the smarter play for The Crossovers to target, and she doesn't really have anyone on the other side of the house in her corner anymore. She could easily be the one leaving this week, but we'll just have to wait and see.

Big Brother continues on CBS on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays at 8:00 p.m. ET. I'm personally rooting for a scenario in which both Drew and Melody are safe this week, but it's looking like a long shot at this point.

Haley Thogmartin's Week 4 Head of Household win was a big opportunity for her to make some moves in the game, but as the latest Big Brother episode showed, she's off to a bad start. She made it clear from the jump that this week was going to be her vengeance on those dragging her name through the mud, but so far fellow Houseguests just think she's being a "mean girl."

As the latest episode showed Haley tearing into Melody Morris, those watching Big Brother online saw her do the same to another woman in the house after the Week 4 veto competition didn't go how she wanted. Haley had a chance to gain an ally in Lyric Medeiros, but instead of extending an olive branch, she tore her to shreds.

Haley Blasted Lyric For Betraying Her Allies And Trying To Join The Red Corner

Once Taylor Brown won the veto, Haley was forced to pick someone else to go on the block. It seemed clear it would be between Mallory Aurichio and Lyric for who would go up, so Lyric quickly got to work talking to Haley's allies Chuk Anyanwu and Kamu Kirk, mentioning how Mallory wanted to put them and Haley on the block. As she hoped, both men took this information to Haley, who saw right through it and called Lyric up to the HOH room.

While Chuk and Kamu were receptive to the idea of Lyric joining the Red Corner, Haley made it clear to Lyric she didn't respect the pitch. In fact, she felt that the fact that Lyric was so willing to sell out Mallory, one of her biggest allies, to avoid the block made her look more shady than reliable. She said (via: @BBUpdatesLive):

The conversation continued well beyond that, with Haley essentially telling Lyric she didn't trust her word and that she'd need to go a long way next week in earning her trust if she wants to join the Red Corner. Lyric went up there hoping the conversation would be about how she could avoid being the renomination choice for Big Brother 28's Week 4 eviction, and instead it was all but guaranteed she would be.

Lyric left the room upset and was seen later crying to Lala Verrett and Taylor over how the conversation with Haley went. Meanwhile, the latter felt justified in the conversation, seemingly oblivious to how the conversation might've ruined her chances of gaining another ally in the game.

Haley Made Another Houseguest Cry, And Gained Another Enemy In The House

From a gameplay standpoint, I didn't love it for Haley. She was the one who instigated the conversation, which was more of a lecture than a dialogue about where they stood. I felt it was unnecessary, considering Haley still put Lyric on the block anyway. It felt like a classic case of HOH-itis, in which the ruling Houseguest forgets they won't be in power next week.

Even if Haley didn't trust Lyric, it would've been far better for her to play nice. Now, no matter how this week shakes out, she's guaranteed to have two people coming off the block who are at odds with her. Making enemies can work in Big Brother, but if you want to win, you want to keep that to a minimum.

What's worse is Haley made a foe of Lyric, who is actively trying to insert herself into the Red Corner alliance. Lyric already has Kamu and Chuk's support, meaning if Haley is gone, she's all but guaranteed acceptance. Assuming she doesn't leave this week and continues winning things, I'd be even more nervous about Lyric going forward if I were Haley.

I'm very interested to see who goes and stays in the upcoming BB Blockbuster, which will air live when Big Brother is on CBS on Thursday, August 6th at 8:00 p.m. ET. It's also looking like we'll have an endurance competition on the live feeds, so be ready to stay up!

UPDATE: As revealed by the latest episode of Big Brother, Dee Valladares won the BB Bribe in the latest BB Time Capsule. Drew is bluffing about having the Coin of Destiny, which is still a bad idea, but not quite as historically bad as we originally thought. This is why you always watch the episodes in addition to the live feeds!

Marcellas Reynolds may finally be able to rest easy, as someone in Big Brother Season 28 may finally make a game move worse than he did all the way back in Season 3. Refusing to use the guaranteed safety of the veto, only to be voted out soon after, was certainly a bad call, but it's a blip compared to what one of the newbies might have done during Haley Thogmartin's Week 4 Head of Household.

Fortunately, there's still a chance for this Houseguest to save themselves from their brainless move, but the odds are not in their favor to survive after the results of the latest veto competition. Here's what's happening for those not watching Big Brother online, and how one of the game's biggest powers might've been squandered.

Taylor Won The Week 4 Veto

Haley's been laser-focused on getting Taylor Brown out of the game and putting her up against Melody Morris and Tool Shed ally Drew Campbell in an attempt to send her packing. Fortunately for Taylor, she can lay back this week and relax after the veto made her untouchable for another week.

As it stands, it's looking like Lyric Medeiros could be the renomination choice, as Haley feels suspicious of anyone trying to get closer to her Red Corner ally and Week 3 HOH Kamu Kirk. I think she'd like to see Lyric sent home this week, but it's looking instead like the vets may try and pull a betrayal that's been in the works for weeks.

Drew Might Have The Coin Of Destiny...And May Get Evicted After Not Using It

Live feed viewers have finally sussed out that Drew was the latest winner of a Time Capsule power, and he received one of the best powers Big Brother can possibly give. While we don't know 100% for sure, he's dropped enough hints to suggest he was gifted the "Coin of Destiny."

The recipient of the Coin of Destiny can call a coin flip. If called correctly, they can anonymously overthrow the acting HOH and name their own nominees from the shadows. It's a game-changing power that would allow Drew to take out a big target without anyone knowing for sure, and for reasons we've yet to understand, he opted not to hold onto it despite getting a heads-up he was going up on the block for eviction.

Those who want to win Big Brother know that pawns go home, and that maxim alone should've pushed Drew to use the coin the moment he knew he was going up. Now, Taylor is off the block, and if he doesn't win the BB Blockbuster, there's a good chance Dee Valladares and Angela Murray will rally the votes to finally send him home, as they've been pitching for weeks. In that case, he'll have exited the game before ever using the power, which would be a colossal waste.

It gets worse, if you can believe it. In a conversation with Rick Devens (via X), Drew hinted that he ultimately plans to save the Coin of Destiny until he can use it to hijack his own HOH. In his mind, it allows him to operate in complete anonymity, which he already has since many assume Dee received the power as the last of the vets.

Of course, this move is equally shortsighted, because Drew only has a 50% chance of winning the coin flip. It's entirely possible he'd nominate a bunch of fake targets, and then be stuck with them. I can't even call it cocky. It's just a half-baked idea that's, quite frankly, stupid.

It's especially bad considering Jason De Puy just exposed the majority alliance during the tea party showdown, and it seems the message just won't sink in until it's too late. It feels as though Big Brother 28 is on track to be the worst season we've seen since Season 22, and just when I think it can't get any worse, it hits another level.

Here's hoping Drew can survive via a win in the BB Blockbuster and is smart enough to realize the flaw in his plan before it's too late. Big Brother continues on CBS on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 8:00 p.m. ET.

Big Brother played up Kamu Kirk's comments that Jason De Puy was his "Zesty Bestie," but the latter exclusively revealed to CinemaBlend that he was never cool with that nickname. The drag queen was kind enough to spill some additional tea following his memorable tea party on the 2026 TV schedule, and he gave his honest thoughts about Kamu and some of his other allies.

I spoke to Jason the following morning after his eviction, and we got into his big moments with Kamu, including the nickname he made it clear he wasn't a fan of. The evicted Houseguest, whose nickname from Kamu stemmed from the fact that he's an openly gay drag queen, said "Zesty Bestie" was not a nickname they collaborated on and was inflammatory:

Jason says the Week 3 HOH used it as if they had a friendship outside of the game, but that was never the case. Those watching Big Brother online live feeds with a Paramount+ subscription largely reported the same and shared the sentiment that Kamu's use of the name felt like a microaggression.

This led to further tension between the two, especially after Kamu patted him on the back following the conclusion of the BB Blockbuster. Jason was heard saying, "Don't touch me" to him as he walked to his seat, and now it's clear why he wasn't feeling very sportsmanlike.

As for whether there was a bridge he could mend with Kamu, or others he had run-ins with during Big Brother, Jason had this to say:

Jason alleged that Kamu, Week 4 HOH Haley Thogmartin, and Chuk Anyanwu made it clear they weren't fans of drag queens or possibly a gay lifestyle. In his eyes, there's no need to try and repair that relationship, though he did say he'd be fine with Angela Murray and other Houseguests he got into it with, like Rick Devens.

The comments come as the internet does a deep dive into Kamu's social media, which has revealed a history of problematic posts ranging from offensive comments tied to racial injustice and homophobic talking points. It's disappointing Jason might've been a victim of unfair treatment in the Big Brother house due to his sexuality, so here's hoping those moves were solely done as part of the game.

While his time in the house only lasted three weeks, Jason left a mark that may end up being one of the highlights of the season. From the classic move of banging pots and pans to irritate to taking on Angela and going toe-to-toe in a house meeting showdown, there's no denying his presence will be missed in the Big Brother house.

Those watching Big Brother online and tracking the live feeds probably tossed and turned in bed, hoping they'd wake up to news that someone outside the Tool Shed won the Week 4 Head of Household. Well, the bad news is we didn't get that wish. And while the Tool Shed dominance continues, the hubris of its latest HOH could derail the alliance.

For those who need a reminder, the Tool Shed consists of Rick Devens, Dee Valladares, Barrett Pfeiffer, Drew Campbell, Angela Murray, Kamu Kirk, Chuk Anyanwu, and Haley Thogmartin. With that laid out, here's who won, their tentative plans for nominees, and how there could be a sequel to the tea party on the horizon.

Haley Won The Week 4 HOH

Haley won the Week 4 HOH, and she plans to get some vengeance now that she has power in the house. Overnight on the live feeds, Haley said she was ready to target the people who were dragging her name through the mud. She listed her target as Taylor Brown, but said she'll also put up Melody Morris and tell Drew he's going up as a pawn. This isn't necessarily out of line with what the alliance wants, but I think her quest for revenge could cause this entire thing to unravel.

There Are A Few Big Ways This Week Could Go Wrong

Haley's already made this week personal, delivering a speech that her targets are going to be people who, she believes, have spoken ill about her during Big Brother. Holding grudges is a big mistake if you want to win BB, especially if you don't have the receipts to prove it. Haley targeting people out of spite, rather than what's best for her game, may just come back to bite her, especially with who she's going after.

Nominating Drew and Melody feels like a clear message to the former that he's on the outs with the Toolshed alliance. Everyone knows he wants to keep Melody safe, and Drew is a savvy enough player to know that no one goes up on the block unless the HOH is fine with seeing them go home.

Drew has all the information to blow up the Tool Shed alliance, and hopefully, he could sway Barrett to jump ship and give them a numbers advantage with everyone outside the alliance. Unfortunately, Barrett and Drew had all the pieces to do this during Kamu's Week 3 HOH, and they still balked and believed they were safe within the Tool Shed.

Fortunately, there's another scenario here that could also blow up the Tool Shed. Angela has led the charge for weeks that Drew is not to be trusted, and convinced Dee they need to backdoor him before he gets too much power in the game. Thus far, Devens has talked them off the ledge of doing that too soon, but with Haley setting the table for him to go on the block, they might just try to rally the votes to do it.

Evicting Drew would put the Tool Shed at a numbers disadvantage, especially if Barrett finally wakes up and joins the other side of the house. But it's a big if, as he seems smitten with Dee and hasn't told Drew yet that he's aware the vets don't really want him in the game much longer.

Basically, this alliance could collapse if Drew and Barrett make any moves to dismantle it, but first they have to realize the danger they're in. If they don't, the steamroll is coming, and it'll be a classic case of Houseguests realizing they're doomed all too late. I'm trying to stay optimistic, though I hope Haley's messy nominations will be the catalyst for overthrowing the Tool Shed, and others should do the same.

Let's also remember that there's still a chance a Big Brother Houseguest gets a power thanks to the fan vote. A power could really save the other side of the house right now, provided fans are sick of seeing the Tool Shed run the game. We'll see if they are!

Those of us who've invested countless hours of our summers watching Big Brother over the years can surely remember the moments from the live episodes that had us on the absolute edges of our seats. Despite everything we know from watching the live feeds, we don't always know how things are going to go during Thursday's live eviction episode. It's one of the reasons the show has many of us in such a chokehold summer after summer. For as much as we're spoiled by the live feeds, the Thursday episode can result in some exciting, unexpected moments and nail-biting suspense.

To use a recent example, remember last season, when Mickey, Morgan and Rylie were on the block? Of course you do. Mickey won the Blockbuster, leaving Rylie eligible to be evicted. The people scheming to get him out just needed Vince and Ava's votes to ensure he went, and in the case of Ava, it looked like her decision was made as she was literally saying the words "I vote to evict..."

Whether or not we get another nail-biter of a vote on Thursday night remains to be seen, but I can already tell I'm going to be on the edge of my seat during the Blockbuster competition, and I can't wait for it.

🛑Big Brother live feed spoilers ahead! I can't talk about Thursday's episode without getting into who won the Veto, whether or not it was used, and what happened during the week (including a wild "tea party" that will go down in BB history, for better or worse).

Ok, so here's what we're looking at going into Thursday's episode:

• Head of Household: Kamu
• Veto Winner: Lyric (she took herself off the block)
• Nominees: Mallory, Lala (Latrice) and Jason (the replacement nominee. 

While Jason is a frontrunner to get evicted this week if he doesn't win the Blockbuster, it's Wednesday, and conversations about the voting scenarios among the houseguests are still ongoing. At present, I don't know that I'd say he has a good chance of staying if he's among the two standing nominees once the Blockbuster is won, but anything can happen. Expect the unexpected, etc. Obviously, his best bet to ensure his safety is by winning the Blockbuster competition again, and I really need him to do that.

Why I Want Jason To Win Blockbuster

Honestly, right now, I don't think Jason is long for this game, even if he does manage to survive the week. I just want to clarify upfront that wanting him to win the Blockbuster is less about hoping he wins the whole season than it is wanting to see the RuPaul's Drag Race contestant come out on top of an otherwise crappy week. Sure, if he does manage to stay, I want to see if he can turn his game around, in which case, I can easily see rooting for him to win, but in the meantime, I just want him to survive this week.

Jason Already Had An Uphill Battle Going Into This Week

Jason was the backdoor target pretty much from the start, and considering how things have gone for him in the house (including getting called out by Angela during Devens's nomination ceremony), it's not surprising. Though he escaped eviction last week, having won the Blockbuster, and Rome being the primary target, Jason continues to struggle to gain any traction for himself within the game. From what I've been seeing on the live feeds since Thursday, a lot of what he's said to other houseguests about who he wants to target was getting passed around the house and to the HoH. With no credibility to build upon, I think the info he was offering up had more value being shared forward than it did establishing trust.

Jason isn't the first houseguest to get called out for playing a messy game, or to get sent out as a result. That part is just how the game goes. It's this week's "Tea Party" that left me fully rooting for Jason to survive Thursday's eviction, if only to spite Kamu.

The Tea Party Confrontation Was So Unnecessary

I love a good confrontation in the Big Brother house as much as anyone, but there was nothing entertaining about Kamu's planned and executed monologue calling Jason out during what was otherwise a pretty cheerful party. Under the guise of "clearing the air," in front of the whole house, Kamu repeated things he and Jason had discussed, as well as things he'd heard Jason had said about who he wanted to target.

Beyond that, I'm not going to get into the specifics of what happened. You've likely read the updates or watched the clips (including the clip above for Wednesday's episode) if you weren't watching live when it all happened. I'll just say that I thought Jason came out of the ambush better than anyone could've expected, given the situation.

While I wish more houseguests had checked in with him afterward, I also understand that it's a game, and at the time, the replacement nominee hadn't officially been locked in. I can see some houseguests maybe not wanting to speak up or approach Jason before the Veto was out of play, for fear of appearing to be taking a side. Hopefully we'll get more honest insights about how the other houseguests felt about the whole thing in the Diary Room segments on Wednesday or Thursday's episodes.

He Needs To Win The Blockbuster Competition

Back to the point, Jason got put on the spot, pretty unnecessarily in my opinion. Call someone out when you want to turn the tables, or throw a Hail Mary to save your game, sure, but there's no reason to pile on or create a spectacle with a houseguest who's already being targeted -- certainly not when you're planning to nominate them for eviction anyway.

I hope Jason wins the Blockbuster. I know my heart's going to be racing as that competition plays out. If he doesn't win, I hope he somehow manages to secure enough votes to stay. I'm not sure I'd predict him going far in the game, but people have come back from some pretty rough starts on this show. Regardless, I'd love for him to survive the week after what he went through on Sunday night. The episode is going to be a suspenseful ride no matter what, but if he stays, it'll be a great way to cap off the week, and it'll be interesting to see how he proceeds in the game once things reset with a new Head of Household.

Kamu's Week 3 HOH reign in Big Brother Season 28 is almost at an end. With the results of the veto competition and a dramatic tea party leading to Jason De Puy up on the block, it seemed as though the vets had secured another ideal outcome for their alliance. That said, Rick Devens, Angela Murray, and Dee Valladares may be blindsided on eviction night, when their plans fall apart, thanks to the newcomers.

As it stands right now, Jason is up on the block with Mallory Aurichio and Lala Verrett. One of them will come down, thanks to the Blockbuster and, while it seemed impossible that both Mallory and Jason would survive this week once Devens and Dee got to work scheming, those watching Big Brother online know there's a very real possibility they're both left with their jaws on the floor come Thursday night.

The Newbies Are Planning For A Scenario In Which Both Jason And Mallory Stay In The House

While it originally seemed that Jason was the primary target this week, followed by Mallory, it's looking increasingly likely that Lala may head out the door on Thursday in at least one specific scenario. If Jason wins the BB Blockbuster, and it's down to Mallory and Lala on the block, here's where it sounds like the votes would fall:

• Votes To Evict Mallory: Dee, Devens, Angela, Haley, Chuck
• Votes To Evict Lala: Drew, Barrett, Melody, Yash, Taylor, Lyric, Jason

Dee and Devens seem somewhat hip to the fact there are discussions about keeping Mallory, but it would seem they feel they have the votes locked down. Devens checked in on Taylor Brown to confirm she's a solid vote to keep Lala, after which she dropped several expletives suggesting to the live feed audience that she's paranoid he's going to know she flipped should this vote happen.

In the worst case scenario, I believe the vets think the votes could come to a tie, in which Kamu would break the tie and send Mallory packing over Lala. That definitely could still happen, but anyone rooting for a fun season should definitely hope that both Jason and Mallory are safe this week.

What Could Derail This Plan?

Unfortunately, the plan to keep Jason and Mallory only works at this moment if Jason wins the BB Blockbuster. That's thanks in large part to Melody Morris, who informed both Barrett Pfeiffer and Drew Campbell overnight that she thought it was best for them to "pretend" they were a vote for Jason if he was up against Lala, but then vote him out anyway.

Unfortunately, so much of this plan hinges on Melody, Barrett and Drew, and it's unfair to put it falling through solely on her. In fact, there's a possibility that the previous scenario to save Mallory could fall through, should Barrett and Drew back out and maintain their loyalty to The Crossovers despite Angela Murray and Dee's growing mistrust of both of them.

Suffice to say, it's going to be a big Wednesday and Thursday morning, as a few Houseguests need to decide whether they're ready to play Big Brother for themselves, or for the vets. To call out people specifically, are Drew and Barrett going to admit they'd rather have Mallory in the game and go for it, or cater again to the vets?

Big Brother airs on CBS on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays at 8:00 p.m. ET. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we see Mallory and Jason survive the week, and then the other side of the house finally gets some power come Thursday.

Tensions flared yet again in the Big Brother house after Week 3 HOH Kamu Kirk thought he could "call out" Jason De Puy during a backyard tea party. After the results of the latest veto competition, he could've left well enough alone. However, Kamu decided to start an argument I feel relatively certain he lost.

This all went down for those watching Big Brother online, as the latest episode aired amid the 2026 TV schedule. Kamu had prepared most of the day to use a tea party planned by Mallory Aurichio to call out Jason for making contradictory promises to people in the house and laughed as he expected the drag queen to be speechless or stomp off. Unfortunately for him, Jason stood on business, and I think Kamu came out of the other side a potential target for the house.

Jason Was Ready For Kamu's Surprise Attack, And The Latter Was Unprepared

From the time Kamu hatched this scheme, I thought he was in over his head. Just the week prior, Jason went toe-to-toe with Angela Murray and held his own against the Houseguest famous for her wild speeches in her first season. Despite that, Kamu thought he'd be able to call out Jason and leave him stunned as well as emotionally isolated from the rest of the house before he was officially put up as the replacement nominee.

Things got off to a rocky start, as Kamu unsuccessfully tried to broach the planned attack a couple times and was interrupted. He did finally get going, though, and talked about how he'd heard Jason was targeting him and making contradictory promises to others about what he'd do had he won the veto. Once he was finished, Jason unloaded:

Jason made plenty of valid points, including that he was being raked over the coals by Kamu for "playing Big Brother." He also correctly clocked the majority alliance in the house and, while Kamu and others tried to brush it off, I'd be curious to hear if those outside the alliance also saw how tense that moment made people. Kamu tried to take control of the situation but, every time he opened his mouth again, Jason kept going back after him.

Not only that, but the entire showdown kept being frequently interrupted by Lala Verrett, who was brought up as a minor part of Kamu's speech. This derailed the conversation completely and led her to make many valid points in defense of Jason, and being confused at what Kamu was getting at.

The only other contributor in this fight was Angela Murray, who was a big advocate of this showdown ahead of time, and viewers surely know Murray isn't afraid of drama. Everyone else looked wildly uncomfortable, which led to Kamu telling Jason that this was why it happened. Jason reminded Kamu that it was he who started all of this in a clearly premeditated way, and that's more or less where this matter ended.

Kamu Had Little To Gain, And Ended Up Making Himself A Target

Kamu had nothing to gain in this attempt to publicly humiliate Jason, and it seems he'll have plenty to lose in the coming days. While I would expect more honest thoughts about the tea party incident to come once his work as HOH is officially done, the entire incident was met with a mixed response.

Rick Devens and Dee Valladares, allegedly two of Kamu's biggest allies, planned to use the moment to bring in Mallory and use it as ammunition for her to target Kamu. Rather than target the vets, wouldn't a prospective HOH by her be better served by going after the MMA fighter who ruined her tea party?

Not only that, but Jason still has a chance to save himself with the BB Blockbuster. Now that he has advance notice that Kamu planned to put him up as the replacement nominee, he can spend the next few days going after the outgoing HOH's character and making him enemy number one of the house.

Again, I'm not sure what Kamu's goal was here. The only real congratulations he got from Houseguests were from people who already knew he was going to do it from the start, and the people who were blindsided weren't really shocked by anything they heard. Objectively speaking, I don't think this was a good game move for Kamu, though I don't expect him to own up to or admit that.

Big Brother continues with new episodes on Wednesday and Thursday at 8:00 p.m. ET. As someone rooting for an entertaining season, I'm hoping Jason can win the Blockbuster, or at least find a way to save himself from eviction this coming week.

When Kamu Kirk won the Week 3 Head of Household, it seemed like Big Brother Season 28 could have been set for a boring week, but the follow-up days have certainly proven otherwise. Not necessarily because of any of Kamu's actions, though the consequences of the Week 3 veto were amplified as a nominee saved themselves from the block.

CinemaBlend is watching Big Brother online, and I can confirm someone from the group comprising Jason De Puy, LaLa Verrett, and Lyric Medeiros won the veto. I can also confirm that wasn't even the biggest highlight, with more big moments playing out as we speed toward this upcoming eviction!

Lyric Won The Power Of Veto

Fresh off of her convincing Rick Devens to pull her off the block in Week 2, Lyric has now shown she can win a competition with her first veto win! I feared that once Rome Seymour was gone, she might just become complacent and be an easy eviction for the Tool Shed alliance, but fortunately, she's gone the opposite direction and has her eyes on the prize.

Rick Devens' Diamond Power Of Veto Is Overpowered

Ahead of the veto, we learned that Devens was the latest Houseguest to win America's Vote and play for a power. Unlike Angela Murray, he was able to win and earned what may be the most powerful Diamond Power of Veto in Big Brother history.

For the uninitiated, a Diamond Power of Veto is gifted to players secretly, and it allows the winning Houseguest to save a nominee from the block and then choose their replacement without any input from the HOH. It's already one of the more overpowered abilities in Big Brother, but what makes it wilder this time around is Devens' reveal that he can use it at any point in the next six weeks.

That's a long time to hold a power, and he's essentially able to guarantee himself safety until the late game, provided Dee Valladares doesn't rat him out, forcing him to flush it early. I'm one of the many fans to speak out about the unfairness, especially considering it was obtained via fan vote.

We all know the franchise newbies didn't stand a chance to get public votes early on, and it feels so transparently obvious that the powers that be are attempting to keep the already popular reality show veterans in the game for as long as possible. It's not a level playing ground in my eyes, but we'll see if the newcomers can overcome.

Angela Is Spiraling, And Dee And Devens Are Struggling To Keep Her In Check

Last week, I wrote about how Dee and Angela were contemplating blowing up their alliance, and those discussions have since escalated. All three reality icons essentially see The Crossovers as a defunct alliance, and Barrett Pfeiffer and Drew Campbell are on the outs. Plans are in place to eventually take them out, but that's not enough for Angela, who wants them gone yesterday.

Angela is increasingly paranoid about Drew in particular, and keeps pulling Dee and Devens aside to try and get permission to out him for his sneakiness. Both agreed it was a terrible idea, especially considering doing it now would only alert Drew they're against him and give him plenty of time to take them out. If Angela blew up The Crossovers this week, they could just wind up on the outside of the house.

I don't think it's reached this point yet, but I think here within the next week or so, Dee and Devens are going to have to figure out if remaining aligned with Angela is a hindrance to their games. She's a wild card, as anyone who watched her "crazy eyes" speech will know, and needs constant affirmation from allies to prevent a full-on meltdown against another Houseguest. For now, Angela is calm, but I think it's only a matter of time before her feelings about Drew boil over.

There's so much to keep tabs on, so be sure to keep up to date and tune into Big Brother on CBS on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 8:00 p.m. ET. This week may be explosive after all, even if it wasn't quite in the way we were expecting.

Showmances are fun in Big Brother, but it's not a guarantee they'll have a happy ending. Season 28's Rome Seymour and Lyric Medeiros could be the next Brendon and Rachel Villegas, or they could be the next Christian Birkenberger and Alyssa Lopez. Rome told CinemaBlend he's prepared for both possibilities, and he shared his honest thoughts about Lyric potentially moving on.

As those watching Big Brother online with a Paramount+ subscription witness the aftermath of the Week 4 Head of Household competition, I sat down and talked to Rome about the possibility of Lyric moving on while he's outside of the house. As I was talking about the hypothetical scenario, Rome said he had this exact convo with her before his eviction:

He smiled while talking, but I'm unsure if that was because he was so certain it wouldn't happen, or a bit anxious about having to acknowledge he has no control over the situation. Either is valid, in my opinion, as it would certainly suck to meet someone who could be "the one" and then potentially not have contact with them for two and a half months.

All I know is what Rome said, and he went on to say he's not worried about Lyric. Ultimately, the relationship will be what it's meant to be, and if things don't work out and she moves on before leaving, he's at peace with that:

Rome and Lyric have been a hot topic since Big Brother Season 28 started, with their showmance starting as early as Day 2 in the house. Since then, we've seen them kissing a lot on the feeds, cuddling together while they sleep, and there was a "boner walk" controversy.

The showmance wasn't really a factor in Rome's eviction, as he was seen by Angela Murray and others in the now-formed Tool Shed alliance as the ringleader of the other side of the house. Angela pushed that evicting Rome would "cut off the head of the snake" and leave everyone outside their alliances scrambling to organize.

So far, it seems she's right, as those outside the Tool Shed alliance have yet to formalize any big alliance to effectively combat being unceremoniously evicted in the opening weeks of the game. Unless someone within the Tool Shed decides to blow it up, I don't see how any of them can hope to stay in the game for long.

Big Brother continues with new episodes on CBS on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 8:00 p.m. ET unless otherwise noted. Fingers crossed this week is more entertaining than I expect it to be, but we can only wait and see.

I started watching Big Brother this season to support Devens and Dee, and two weeks in, I’m fully in the deep end. I’m making real alliances, sleeping in the have not room, making fake alliances, reattaching my microphone and eating slop. I think this show is just going to be a part of my summer routine moving forward, but as a Survivor fan, I need to talk about the confessional situation because yikes.

At least eighty percent of everything we see come out of the Diary Room is inauthentic trash. So many of these confessionals sound like the houseguests were given a paper to read from. Perhaps even worse, a healthy percentage of them are just narrating plot action that we’re all literally watching on the screen or detailing the most obvious surface level motivations that we don’t need to hear.

During Wednesday’s episode this week, we all watched Lala go over the rules of the Veto Competition in really extended and specific detail. Then, for unclear reasons, we got a confessional of Lyric blandly explaining the exact same rules to the audience like thirty seconds later, once again in really specific detail, down to telling us how many pieces they had to find (12) and how they needed to fit on the board (“flush”). What could have possibly been the thought process behind including that confessional? Choose one or the other!

Sadly, that’s a recurring theme with so many bits we see from the Diary Room. Let’s just focus on that same Veto Competition as an example. We also got confessionals from multiple houseguests explaining to us that some of the pegs have more space around them so that must be where the bigger pieces go. That’s obviously a good strategy observation and worth hearing about, but did we need that same a-ha moment from both Jason and Angela? No, we did not. Choose one or the other!

And don’t get me started on the references and puns. I love bad puns, and I love cheesy references. I kind of like how kitschy Big Brother is. I was fine with Rachel getting murdered by a dinosaur during the first episode, but a confessional either works or it doesn’t. If the houseguest sounds like they’re delivering a rehearsed line, it shouldn’t make the final edit. There are at least four or five confessionals every week that sound so inauthentic coming out of the houseguest’s mouth. It’s shocking so many of them make the final edit.

After a few episodes of this, I asked the other people on staff here at CinemaBlend who watch Big Brother what the story is with the Diary Room content, and they both said some version of, that’s just how the show is. You’ll get used to it. Why is that an acceptable answer? It's certainly not fine with some former players who have complained about it.

I watch so many reality competition shows. I watch Survivor, The Traitors, Top Chef, MasterChef, Dancing With The Stars, Project Runway, Tournament Of Champions, The Amazing Race and like a dozen more. None of the other shows have this problem. Not a single one consistently includes content that feels repetitive and inauthentic. It doesn’t have to be that way.

It’s all particularly frustrating because each episode does contain some legitimately terrific confessionals, and if you watch the live feeds, these people have a lot of charisma and are always hooking up and scheming. There is a reason they were chosen to move into the house. There is plenty for producers to work with.

Unfortunately, it seems to me like those same producers are encouraging players to distill their thoughts down into generic euphemisms, obvious observations ("I need to win to get myself off the block!") and corny line reads they're literally handing them. Why is that the goal? Who decided this was the most optimal Diary Room content?

The team needs to change their strategy for getting Diary Room content, and they need to be more thoughtful about what they’re choosing from the material they do get. We need less obvious narrational content. We need less inauthentic line reads. We need less generic summaries. Instead, we need more confessionals that show off the personalities and emotions of the houseguests.

Despite Lyric Medeiros setting the stage for them both to stay in the house, Rome Seymour was sent packing at the end of Week 2, another big win for the Tool Shed alliance. The majority alliance of Big Brother Season 28 had a chance to continue their steamroll with the Week 3 Head of Household, and the odds of that happening are good.

CinemaBlend was watching Big Brother online when the live feeds returned, and can confirm the Week 3 HOH result is great news for one Houseguest, but bad news for two others. Obviously, there are many others affected, but these Houseguests stick out to me more than others.

Kamu Won The Week 3 HOH

Kamu Kirk won the Week 3 HOH, which is another great win for the veterans and the Tool Shed alliance. While it may be disappointing for those hoping for unexpected targets and shocking twists, this is a huge win for Rick Devens, Angela Murray, and Dee Valladares, who found a good soldier who will stick to the script and grant them another week of safety. Assuming Dee and Angela don't do anything reckless and intentionally blow up the Tool Shed, it'll be smooth sailing for them.

Why Kamu's Win Is Bad News For Jason And Lyric

The big losers in Kamu's HOH week are Lyric Medeiros and Jason De Puy. Losing Rome was a huge blow to both of their games, and Kamu nominating them potentially sets the precedent for all future HOH winners to put them on the block until they're evicted from Big Brother.

It's a bad situation to be in, and may dissuade other Houseguests from associating with them. Jason and Lyric only really have each other to lean on at the moment, and will need a lot of luck to escape this week unscathed, with Kamu already stating he plans to nominate Lyric and backdoor Jason if he has the opportunity.

Why Kamu's Win Is Great News For Taylor

The big winner in Kamu's Head of Household week is someone that I'm shocked I don't hear more people talking about. Taylor Brown is in good with Kamu, and despite suggestions from the Tool Shed, he's made it clear he doesn't want her on the block this week. This could mark three weeks Taylor has skated by without being nominated, and she's played the game so far without getting blood on her hands.

Granted, she hasn't made any big moves in Season 28 either, but if you want to win Big Brother, Taylor is playing the popular early game strategy of laying low. At a time when it feels many Houseguests are competing for the spotlight and running the house, it's a great position to be the one unaffiliated but also without enemies.

This means, when the hammer does drop on this alliance, and former allies start to turn on each other, people like Taylor can come alive as critical pieces to new alliances. I could see her easily sliding in with the Red Corner if they go solo again, and finding some protection for when others get a chance to target her. I'll be watching her this week and waiting to see if she capitalizes on this opportunity.

Things couldn't be going better for the reality television veterans in Big Brother. Rick Devens gave them some added power and comfort with his Week 2 Head of Household win, and the fact that he also won the Week 2 veto only made it sweeter. With the security of the Tool Shed, they can skate on to the midpoint of the game without much trouble, so of course they're probably about to ruin it by overthinking things.

Dee Valladares and Rick may know Survivor, but as Cirie Fields learned in Season 25, Big Brother is a different beast. In their eagerness to make moves, they may just blow up their majority alliance, and Angela Murray's paranoia is not helping.

The Vets Are Discussing Moves That Could Break Up The Crossovers

With it looking increasingly likely that this week ends with either Rome Seymour or Jason De Puy walking out of Big Brother in Week 2, Dee and Angela thought it was time to prepare to target their next enemies. Unfortunately, they're convinced that Crossover-alliance members Barrett Pfeiffer and Drew Campbell need to go to protect their position.

That alone is messier than Angela Murray badmouthing past Houseguests on the live feeds, but it gets worse. Angela and Dee are trying to form new separate alliances with people like Lala Verrett and Taylor Brown, but are realizing their current goals don't align with their new allies. It's messy, and despite Devens trying to advocate against turning on Barrett and Drew, it looks like the chances of that happening are growing, and it'd be the end of the Crossovers.

The Vets Have A Decent Chance To Steamroll The Season With The Tool Shed, And These Overplays Could Ruin That

While others watching Big Brother online may prefer the vets to blow up their games and shake up the house dynamic, I know Survivor fans may be upset that Dee and Devens might not be long for the house if they do this. I can't guarantee it'll happen, but what I can say is we've seen a past Survivor player engage in this kind of overthinking before.

Cirie Fields made similar mistakes when she played Big Brother in Season 25, opting to immediately target members of her own alliance rather than completely handle those outside of her numbers first. She went after solid allies Hisam Goueli and Red Utley to ensure she had a better grip on the alliance, but then dwindling those numbers ultimately led to her losing her closest allies, Izzy Gleicher and her son Jared Fields, soon after. Maybe Survivor players just can't adapt to the slow pace of Big Brother, and they try to make too many moves too fast?

The Tool Shed alliance, which consists of both the Crossovers and Red Corner alliances, was only recently set up. I wouldn't be surprised if that alliance quickly crumbles once word travels around that Dee and Angela are openly discussing cannibalizing it by targeting Barrett and Drew. I certainly wouldn't trust the alliance was real after that, and think this is going to blow up for the vets in a big way. I mean, at the end of the day, couldn't the Red Corner sans Devens just bring in Drew and Barrett and gang up on the vets?

We'll see how this all plays out after the Week 2 eviction, which airs on CBS on Thursday, July 23rd at 8:00 p.m. ET. Big Brother is delivering top-tier drama with Season 28 at the moment, and if The Crossovers blow up in Week 3, I'd clear my schedule to watch it all unfold on the live feeds!

Rick Devens' Week 2 Head of Household reign is almost at a close, and all is going according to plan. The results of the Week 2 veto allowed him to put Rome Seymour on the block, making the promise to Lyric Medeiros that they'd have a chance to survive this week, and both remain in the house.

The bummer news is, with Rome, Jason De Puy, and Melody Morris on the block, the two biggest leaders on the "other" side of the house may be on their way out. I fear a "steamroll" is on the way, and it starts with either Jason or Rome's elimination in Week 2.

It Seems Incredibly Unlikely That Jason And Rome Survive This Week

Jason and Rome are the targets this week over Melody. If either is up against Melody at this point, they're going home. In the situation where Melody saves herself with the BB Blockbuster, and it's Jason and Rome up for eviction, it seems Rome will go home.

It's a real bummer that there isn't a scenario in which both stay, because those two, plus Lyric, are the only ones on the other side making moves that will target the dominant alliance in the game. Losing one of the two drastically increases the odds of the Tool Shed engaging in a steamroll, and an unceremonious number of weeks where half the house slides by untouched while slowly sending everyone outside their numbers away.

The Only Scenario In Which Jason And Rome Both Survive

As it stands, the only scenario in which it seems possible both Jason and Rome survive the week is if Jason and Melody are on the nomination block following the BB Blockbuster. If Angela Murray, who was the subject of controversy recently, can be convinced to back down and get on board with Dee Valladares' plan to take out Melody over Jason to weaken Drew Campbell.

As one might've gathered from the blow-up between Angela and Jason after the nomination ceremony, it's going to be hard to convince her to save someone whom she believes is actively targeting her. I'll also add that he did himself zero favors talking about wanting to send home legends to other Houseguests in Week 1. Jason only survives at this point if Rome is an option.

I will say that Devens and Dee are receptive to trying to work out some deal with the trio of Lyric, Rome, and Jason to keep themselves safe, but in Angela's defense, they're assuming that trio will play with integrity. As Mike Boogie once said, "You can bounce checks" in Big Brother. In fact, if you want to win the game, it's imperative you lie when necessary just to last another week.

There's still time before Big Brother's live eviction for Week 2, so maybe we'll see things change before Thursday night at 8:00 p.m. ET. I'm rooting for any scenario in which Melody gets sent home, but at this point, it's not looking likely.

Big Brother 27 Houseguest Morgan Pope is at odds with winner Ashley Hollis, and it's led to a slew of messiness spilling out on social media. There's, of course, been drama between houseguests before, but this is something else. As a matter of fact, it was so wild that fans actually took a break from streaming the Season 28 live feeds with a Paramount+ subscription, all to see this long-bubbling feud finally boil over.

For context, this really started back when Ashley was experiencing some backlash for stirring the pot and alleging that Season 28's Angela Murray was being offensive or possibly racist when talking about a Season 26 Houseguest. In the midst of responding to individuals who disagreed with her thoughts on the matter, she posted a photo with Morgan, alleging that the long-speculated feud they had after Season 27 wasn't real:

It was an odd message to post, especially considering Big Brother fans only knew there were issues between Ashley and Morgan because Ashley herself had stated as much in the past. While the duo had a friendship in the house, it seemed that after the show they were not close. It all began following an incident that happened in a car following a post-finale party (and fans still don't know the details of that event).

Undoubtedly, some of the tension stems from Morgan going from heavily favored to win, only to finish in third place after Ashley won the final competitions and sent her packing. In any case, Morgan popped up on X and replied to the picture, letting Ashley know her thoughts on sharing that photo, and about the importance of "context":

Ashley originally replied to the tweet with "How's Vince?" with the coffee emoji but appears to have since deleted it. It was a not-so-subtle jab at the showmance Morgan had with runner-up Vince Panaro, dubbed the "cheatmance" by many because he had a long-term girlfriend at the time. Vince ended things after meeting back up with his girlfriend, but there's been no evidence that he and Morgan have met back up after the show.

There were many exchanges between them, which included Ashley sharing text messages sent between the two of them. In those text, there were allegations of there being no feud as well as the winner claiming this all boiled down to "jealousy" because she finished in third place. Morgan didn't directly respond to any of Ashley's comments about that, but posted this:

Other Big Brother Houseguests weighed in, with Rachel Reilly publicly stating she supported Ashley. That's not much of a surprise, given how close they were in BB27 before Rachel was shockingly eliminated. Outside of Rachel, however, a bulk of the cast seemed to stay away from the situation and let the two women hash it out.

Hilariously enough, it seems there's one thing they can agree on. Morgan reposted one of Ashley's comments, in response to a fan hoping they could be friends:

Personally, I find this refreshing. Sure, Big Brother Houseguests share a unique experience and can spend close to three months in a house together, but does that mean they have to be buddies for life? Hell, there are people I've known much longer who I'm not friends with, so it's nice to see two people who are honest about it.

I do question, however, why they're arguing about all this so publicly. Is it because they know the drama both gives them a better shot at castings on other reality shows? If so, I hope a casting agent for The Challenge is watching. I'd 100% tune in to see these two battle it out, but we need it sooner rather than later.

While drama between alumni unfolds, Big Brother continues on CBS on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 8:00 p.m. ET. We'll see if any more controversies happen outside the house in the meantime but, for now, I'm tuning back into the house because things are really heating up!

Former Big Brother winner and reality television icon Rachel Reilly has been open about her desire to be a castaway on Survivor in the past, and let the record show, she’s just as determined as ever. In fact, her husband Brendan has been teaching her how to make fire in their backyard. Given her popularity within the competition community, you’d think we’d get to see those skills eventually, but the Survivor casting department has been notably reluctant to cast veterans of other franchises in the past. So, what are Rachel’s actual chances? Let’s talk this out.

In Survivor’s 50 season history, there have only been five total castaways who previously appeared on other majority reality competitions before they hit the beach. Twins Natalie and Nadiya Anderson were on The Amazing Race, as was White Lotus showrunner Mike White. Hayden Moss and Caleb Reynolds were both on Big Brother. That’s it. Other players may have been on lesser shows before, but longtime host and showrunner Jeff Probst and company haven’t consistently looked to their primary competitors and sister shows to find people.

That being said, now may be a unique moment. Survivor 50, with an all-star cast of returning players, just gave the show its biggest ratings numbers in years, and likewise, Big Brother is currently in the middle of a resurgence thanks to its decision to cast Survivor favorites Dee Valladares and Rick Devens. CBS is definitely looking at those figures and figuring out how to keep them rolling.

Probst has already committed to do another returnee player season on Survivor. The producers haven’t announced exactly when it’ll happen, but the fanbase is widely of the belief that it’ll be 53 or 54, which would mean it’ll air in late 2027 or early 2028. Outside of that, however, I wouldn’t be surprised to see some additional decisions made with ratings in mind, which could mean a cast that includes some celebrities or stars crossing over from other franchises. If the show did that, you’d have to think Reilly would be near the top of the list.

It’s hard to make a case that many reality television stars have been more successful than her over the past few decades. She, of course, won Big Brother, but her resume goes a lot deeper than that. She also won Snake In The Grass and Celebrity Fear Factor. She made three appearances on The Amazing Race, including two where she got to the finals, and she made additional appearances on The Traitors, Worst Cooks in America and more. She doesn’t have quite the name recognition or crossover appeal of a player like Boston Rob, but within the reality competition community, there aren’t many bigger names, which is why we've seen her make appearances on the last two Big Brother seasons.

Personally, I’m all for Rachel appearing on Survivor. She has a fantastic social game, and she always creates can’t look away television. It would be a lot of fun to see her bounce off some personality types she might not be getting on other reality shows as well. Fingers crossed it happens at some point, whether she's figured out how to make fire yet or not!

Big Brother Season 28 has its first controversy making rounds as Angela Murray is accused of making offensive comments about past Houseguest Rubina Bernabe. As the 2026 TV schedule offers up more episodes of Season 28, fans are debating whether Angela said something racist in stating that Rubina used her Filipina heritage to campaign to stay in the house.

The whole thing started over on X, when those watching Big Brother's online live feeds overheard Angela mention her experience on Season 26 whilst in the backyard. The comments immediately caught the attention of Season 27 winner Ashley Hollis, who thought Angela's comments about Rubina's eviction were questionable:

That really got the pot stirring online, as Big Brother has a history with Houseguests making offensive and racist remarks. Of course, the debate continues on whether Angela actually said anything that was offensive, which Houseguests weighed into once the comments of what she said started to make rounds.

What Angela Said About Rubina On The Live Feeds

It didn't take long for people watching the live feeds with their Paramount+ subscription to track down the moment and share the clip. While it was difficult to hear the entire audio because other Houseguests were shouting over the conversation in the backyard, this is what Angela said about Rubina Bernabe while talking to Dee Valladares about her previous season (via @TVTweets2026):

I went back to what I wrote that week of Big Brother Season 26, and it turns out I was fairly confident Cedric would be staying. That being said, I did not mention Rubina stressing her heritage in campaigns, and I talked more about Tucker Des Lauriers rallying others to get the votes on her side.

It is worth noting that Angela was regularly out of the loop on what was happening during Season 26, mainly because people didn't trust her wildcard persona to loop her in. As such, it wouldn't be too surprising for me to hear her offer a distorted take on the season, especially if she hasn't watched it since leaving.

Other Houseguests Weighed In On If The Comment Was Offensive Or Racist

The discourse continued between past Big Brother Houseguests on the app ChatBCC. Ashley popped up in the thread to ask Houseguests about the moment, the transcript of which can be found below:

• Ashley Hollis: Can BB26 Players in this chat confirm or deny Angela's claims on feeds a few minutes ago that Rubina only stayed over Cedric because she was of Asian descent basically and they wanted to support filipina representation...?

• Kat Dunn: None of my business but before that spirals out of control (already did on Twitter) that's not what Angela said.
• Ashley Hollis: Thanks for everyone in the comments confirming this actually was said!

• Ashley Hollis: (I never said it was malicious btw) I like Angela but she definitely said that, and also mentioned Rubina crying, on top of her race, was additionally the reason Cedric went home. Pluto run the clip!

• Kat Dunn: All Angela said was that Rubina got sympathy over Cedric because her campaign was about representing her family as she was the first in her family to do something like go on national television. As someone who watched feeds that year I do remember a lot of Rubina's campaigning had to do with representing the Filipino community (she even bonded with Matt over this Week 1) which is a super admirable and valid campaign. She also said that Rubina would cry so people felt bad for her and voted for her to stay (whether that's true or not LOL) and that's when Dee was like "So? That's not happening this year. Or something like that."

The chat went back and forth a few more times, with Kat questioning Ashley's motive for posting frequently about the situation if she didn't think it was malicious, and then both of them saying that Rubina and Angela are their friends. I would imagine there's some drama unfolding in more private Big Brother group chats, but unfortunately, I don't have access to those.

As for whether Angela will face any punishment from Big Brother for these comments, we can only wait and see. I would guess no, because as Ashley pointed out, no one in the show felt it was questionable enough to cut the feeds, and it wasn't nearly as extreme a comment as the things that have led to past Houseguests being expelled. We'll see how the online chatter continues, however, and if CBS feels compelled to respond.

Big Brother's 1,000th episode is approaching, and Julie Chen Moonves is hoping to get every past Houseguest involved. As fans watch BB online and wait for the big milestone to hit the 2026 TV schedule, the Chenbot pitched CinemaBlend her grand plan for how and when to bring a litany of Houseguests back from every prior season.

I recently had a chance to speak to Julie about the 1,000th episode, and tried to get some details on what we should expect. The host admitted that there are still plans being talked out amongst the Big Brother creatives, but was more than happy to share the suggestion she made:

Fortunately, it's not Julie's job to come up with the answers. She's just the host, and apparently part-time security, but there are likely plenty of producers and other execs who can figure out how to make a large-scale reunion happen.

Thus far, Big Brother has done a solid job working in legends from the past. Rachel Reilly returned from her elimination the season prior only to "die" in a volcano, and Howie Gordon returned to keep Dr. Will Kirby from taking control of the future. Man, this show is just so weird sometimes. I almost feel bad for the Survivor fans tuning in.

Maybe the solution is to do some competition that involves multiple Houseguests. I'm not sure they can realistically get "every" Houseguest from the past in one segment, but I'd applaud the effort to try. Maybe even get superfan James Gunn to direct a special intro to the episode or something! He might just do it, especially since he didn't get to feature Rick Devens in the Superman sequel.

More to Julie's point, if they can get every Houseguest they can to gather for a group picture on the CBS lot, that would be pretty awesome. Many of these people are scattered all across the nation, so it would be no small feat to pull it off. I'd appreciate the effort, even if it was a small moment in a larger episode.

Whatever the case is, I'm excited to see a reality series like Big Brother still going strong with 1,000 episodes. The level of interest in this season so far has me thinking that this show could easily last another 1,000 episodes, especially if they keep bringing on stars from other reality franchises.

Week 2 in Big Brother is already zooming along, as Survivor stars Rick Devens and Dee Valladares continue to tighten their grip on the game. Rick won the Week 2 HOH competition and has already gotten to work uniting his Crossovers and Red Corner alliance into the "Tool Shed" and is angling to take out the other side of the house.

Those watching Big Brother online live feeds on the 2026 TV schedule saw Rick put Jason De Puy, Lyric Medeiros, and Melody Morris on the block, but a bigger plan was on the table. Devens wants to "backdoor" Rome, but Lyric has a plan that could keep them both safe this week.

Devens Won The Week 2 Veto

The power is in Devens' hands to do as he wants this week, which is great because he feels committed to the plan of "backdooring" Rome Seymour. For that to happen, nominations couldn't stay the same, so he's feeling good about taking someone down and putting that plan in action. The question is who he should take down, which remains a hot topic with hours to go before he makes a decision.

Lyric Is Trying To Fake A Breakup With Rome To Save Them Both

Lyric received a lot of criticism for prioritizing her showmance with Rome over playing Big Brother, but she's now locked in and trying to convince the house that their relationship is over. Her pitch to Devens was to use the veto to take her down, and then put Rome on the block so that she doesn't have to suffer for his actions.

Truth be told, it felt like Lyric effectively fooled Devens for a time. He soon spun the narrative to Dee that using the veto on Lyric was a good idea, and they'd be better off targeting Melody to weaken the position of their ally, Drew Campbell, who was maintaining alliances with Houseguests on the "other" side of the house.

Devens has made it clear that he'll go with whoever the majority of his alliance backs to save, but that Rome is going up either way. Obviously Lyric would prefer she be off the block to make the odds better both of them survive this week, so she'll continue to push for that outcome.

I feel like it isn't being talked about enough, but Rome still has the BB Blockbuster to save himself, though Devens seems ready for that possibility. He's hoping he can find a way to work out a deal with Rome and Lyric to protect himself and Dee, should the other side get an HOH win sometime in the near future. I think, ideally, he'd prefer to cut the head off of the snake and take down the alleged ringleader orchestrating a solid alliance outside the Tool Shed, but people who want to win Big Brother always have to be flexible.

We’re all used to Big Brother players shouting out family members and friends during their live votes each week, but now and again, one of them will drop a reference that makes you do a double take. This week, that person was Rick Devens, who said happy birthday to his daughter, said hi to his wife and son and then name dropped popular director and DC executive James Gunn. Initially, most fans thought it was just Rick being goofy, but it turns out there’s an entire backstory here.

Rick and James Gunn apparently know each other in real life. In fact, there was a plan for Rick and his family to appear in the background of the upcoming Superman sequel Man Of Tomorrow, which Gunn has been on-set directing the past few months. Prior to the shooting day, however, Devens called Gunn and told him he wasn’t going to be able to come anymore for a reason he wasn’t allowed to share. That reason was obviously he was going to be sequestered in the Big Brother House.

Gunn posted a video of Devens shouting him out on Big Brother over on Threads, and when fans asked what the connection was, he talked about knowing Rick in a series of messages. He also said that even though Rick missed out on the Superman shoot, his family did not…

Everyone, even James Gunn, likes being shouted out on television, but the excitement here no doubt ran a lot deeper because Gunn is a noted OG Big Brother fan. As such, that reference definitely hit harder than it would have otherwise. I’m sure he’s loving this season too, given he’s got a friend on the show and also, it’s been objectively a glorious mess so far.

Part of the reason why it’s been such a mess has been Devens himself, who doesn’t know how to do anything other than play hard. He was a menace on both of his seasons of Survivor, finding idols and getting up to all sorts of weird schemes. There aren’t any Idols on Big Brother, but there are plenty of opportunities to cause chaos. To the surprise of no one, Rick has taken advantage of those, forming multiple alliances and taking part in what’s rumored to be one of the wildest nomination ceremonies in the show’s history, which is going to air this evening.

You can catch Devens on Big Brother throughout the Summer, which airs new episodes several times a week on CBS. You can also tune into the live feeds at any time, which are streaming on Paramount+. As for Man Of Tomorrow, you can catch James Gunn’s newest a little less than a year from now on July 9th, 2027. Sadly, Devens won’t be a part of it, but we can all look for his wife Becca and their kids in the background.

Gameplay is a surely a major aspect of Big Brother that viewers zero in on, yet those who pay close attention may also wonder about more nuanced aspects of being in the house. For example, there's food to think about and, apparently, if someone wants to make a meal in the house, they better have it committed to memory. Season 28's first evictee, Ashley Trail, was kind enough to take me behind the scenes and share some details about what there is and isn't when it comes to vittles.

CinemaBlend's been watching Big Brother online and streaming the live feeds with a Paramount+ subscription. As I've watched this year, it had me thinking about food. I mean, after all, cooking meals for 16 Houseguests feels daunting, so having a cookbook containing recipes that serve mass meals would theoretically be helpful. I asked Ashley if something like that existed, and she confirmed Houseguests have to rely on their knowledge to make meals:

I used to think being a cook in the Big Brother house wasn't an advantage but, now, I think it could be a minor boost for those who want to win. Of course, it's not going to keep you off the block but, if the votes are close and I have to vote between the person who can make carbonara by heart and the person who can't, I think it's obvious which one I'm choosing.

While there isn't a BB cookbook to speak of to help Houseguests prepare meals, Ashley did reveal the existence of another cookbook of sorts to CinemaBlend. The Have-Nots may have to endure cold showers and bland food, but at least they have a pamphlet that helps them jazz it up a bit:

Slop has been a hot-button issue in recent seasons of Big Brother, with some campaigning for it go away completely. I was one of those people who would prefer we went back to Houseguests eating nothing but peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. However, it sounds like the non-cooking Houseguests are surviving on less than that even when they're not on punishment!

The food situation might get even weirder in Season 28 specifically, as Week 2 HOH Rick Devens "declared war" on the other side of the house. His strategy might be a bit short-sighted, because I think the "other" side of the house has the people who have been doing all of the cooking. So this whole situation could turn into a hunger strike pretty soon. Maybe Ashley should be happy she got out when she did!

I'm glad Ashley could add some intel to what goes on in the Big Brother house, just on the heels of us learning about the hidden security measures via Julie Chen Moonves. Now, if I can just learn who is responsible for some of the worst Have-Not rooms, I'd love to pick their brain about how some of the most devious elements have come together.

I'll preface this by saying that I don't like to complain about the Big Brother live feeds because they really are what sets the CBS reality show apart from so many other competition series, and if they ever went away, I'm sure my interest in the show would diminish drastically. With that said, the live feed experience is far from perfect, so please take this as less of a complaint and more of a resigned shrug, because, well...

Shortly before Big Brother Season 28's premiere on the 2026 TV schedule, CBS announced two new live fan experiences set to play out on YouTube. The first was the Big Brother: Broveal, which introduced the new houseguests on the Big Brother YouTube Channel. The second was the promise of a live stream of the BB live feeds on YouTube for a limited amount of time following each episode. Presumably, that included the live episode; however, as seasoned feed-watchers on Eastern or Central time likely know, Big Brother rarely turns the feeds back on right after the Thursday live show broadcasts on the East Coast. Anyone who didn't know that already and went to YouTube to watch the live stream after the episode apparently found out.

I'll be up front here and say that I'm getting this information secondhand. Oh, I watched the live episode of Big Brother when it aired last night, thanks to my Paramount+ subscription including the CBS broadcast, but I didn't even bother to turn on the feeds after, as I knew the odds were slim to none that I'd see anything but the clips of adorable adoptable shelter animals that stream whenever the live feeds are not available. Apparently, the YouTube stream was no exception:

The series films in California, and while the Thursday episode airs live on the East Coast, the people on Pacific time don't see it until hours later. The feeds typically don't come back until sometime after the episode airs on the West Coast, or until after the Head of Household competition takes place. The rare exception to this is when there's an endurance competition playing out. Competitions aren't normally shown on the feeds, but Big Brother will usually let feed-watchers see endurance competitions.

Since the episodes that air on Sunday and Wednesday aren't live, the feeds aren't impacted by them, which works just fine for this new YouTube feature. Thursday is a different story and has been for years, and apparently the YouTube stream isn't going to change that. As annoying (and frankly, confusing) as that is, it's also a pretty accurate depiction of what we get from the feeds after most live shows, especially for those of us on Eastern or Central time.

It would be amazing if Big Brother decided to change that. I would absolutely love to get to see the houseguests decompress after the live show, share their takes on whatever unexpected events happened during the live episode, talk about the eviction and maybe even scheme a bit as a new cycle starts. It's the brief time in the game when the eviction is totally done, and there's no Head of Household.

Giving YouTube users the opportunity to view the live feeds is a great way to broaden the audience of the long-running reality competition series. The live episode is undoubtedly the most exciting episode of any given week, and pairing it with an hour of post-episode live feeds on YouTube would be chef's-kiss, as it'd really highlight the uniqueness of this reality series by comparison to pre-taped productions. So while I'm not entirely optimistic that Big Brother will consider changing things up and turning the feeds on for the YouTube watchers on Thursday after the episode, I do hope they decide to do that going forward; otherwise, why do the YouTube stream on Thursday night at all?

It's a new week in the Big Brother house as it continues its run on the 2026 TV schedule, and we're already off to a hot start. While there were efforts to try and save Ashley Trail, she ended up sabotaging her own rescue by exposing the major alliance forming to the other side of the house. Now, the Week 2 Head of Household is planning to embrace that exposure and declare "war" in a way that mimics Survivor.

So many things happened overnight, so if you weren't watching Big Brother online and catching up on sleep, have no fear. Here's what we know about the Week 2 HOH and how their unique brand of "chaos" will potentially create two "tribes" in the game.

Rick Devens Won The Week 2 HOH

In what is no doubt another major coup for the returnees, Rick Devens won the Week 2 HOH. It's the best-case scenario for Dee Valladares, who can now rest easy following her Week 1 reign, as her biggest ally is running the house. Could this mean we'll see some traction in her budding showmance with Barrett Pfeiffer?

Rick Is Planning To Declare "War", And Split The House Into Two Tribes Like Survivor

Rick initially seemed intent on playing it safe with his nominations and targeting Mallory Aurichio, Lala Verrett, and Melody Morris. However, that all changed after a conversation with Angela Murray, which encouraged him to go full-tilt and openly declare "war" on the other side of the house.

As of writing, it seems Devens will now put up Melody, Jason De Puy, and Lyric Medeiros, with the hope of backdooring Rome Seymour. Rome is generally seen as the ringleader of the "other" side of the house, which comprises everyone who isn't in the Crossovers or Red Corner alliance.

Backdooring anyone in Big Brother is a tall order in the modern seasons, as Rome will still have a chance to save himself with the BB Blockbuster. This plan could also fall apart if Rome is chosen to play the veto, and ends up pulling down Lyric, which would grant him safety.

There's also talk of Rick making a public declaration of "war" during his nomination ceremony, openly acknowledging the house is divided down the middle. It feels very Survivor to try to split the house between two sides, but as Dee and Angela discussed that same evening, pushing that narrative only helps the returnees shield themselves. I'm curious to see how the "other" side of the house responds, and if they organize in a way Rick's alliances have in order to have a better chance at surviving what might otherwise become a steamroll.

Big Brother will show the HOH competition on Sunday's episode, which airs on CBS at 8:00 p.m. ET. I'm interested to see what the contest was, and how Houseguests respond to this declaration of war.

When Kyland Young was evicted from the Big Brother house in Season 23, the tension in the air was so thick you could cut it with a knife. Kyland had a showdown with former ally and eventual winner Xavier Prather and began to antagonize him by implying his nephew would be ashamed of him for going back on his word. The two men stood inches from each other as host Julie Chen Moonves shouted over the loudspeaker for Kyland to leave, and the live episode went on without further incident.

We have yet to see a fight on a Big Brother live eviction show, or an instance where a Houseguest outright refuses to leave. As the series airs on the 2026 TV schedule, however, I'm fully aware the show often "expects the unexpected." So I had to ask the host what might happen should a fight or something of that nature happen during the live show. While fans have never seen it, there is a hidden security team ready to go should it come to that:

I can't express how much I love that Julie refers to herself as Chenbot, but I'm also relieved to hear that Big Brother has security on standby for when the unexpected arises. I do have to admit it's interesting we have yet to see them, given a couple of past Houseguest expulsions that could've easily gotten out of hand.

So, if those watching Big Brother episodes online or streaming the feeds with a Paramount+ subscription start to get antsy for a Houseguest's safety in Season 28 and beyond, rest assured, backup is off-camera. Also, if Julie's there and it's the live show, she made it clear to me she has no problem going in there and setting people straight herself:

If Julie Chen Moonves went sprinting into the Big Brother house to stop a fight, it might just go down as one of the best reality television moments of all time. Hopefully, though, we never have to see that happen. Overall, however, it is comforting as a fan to know that there is a plan in place for just about every contingency imaginable.

Season 28 is leaning into the eras of past seasons of the show, which means we'll see icons from the past appear in episodes. I'd love to see both Xavier and Kyland, who did eventually privately bury the hatchet after the very public confrontation, again. It might even be funny to have them on and pretend to fight again, if only to see how the Houseguests might react.

As for tensions in the house, the Big Brother Season 28 cast seems pretty friendly at the moment. There is the usual amount of snide comments and backstabbing, but hey, that's the nature of the beast. I'm just hoping it leads to a little more action, because so far, this cast is a little too passive.

Dee Valladares' Week 1 Head of Household reign is almost at an end, which means the first eviction of Big Brother Season 28 is imminent. With the results of the veto competition forcing her to put up a fourth Houseguest for nomination, it seemed clear who was going home. Of course, plans can always change in this game, and it seems the targeting is shifting just ahead of the vote.

CinemaBlend is watching Big Brother online, and I'm glued to the live feeds via my Paramount+ subscription. While it seemed like Ashley Trail was going to walk out the door on Thursday with little argument from the house, we have our first change of heart, as Dee started making moves Tuesday evening.

Amy Was The House Target, But Dee Is Pushing For Yash Or Taylor

Dee originally made it clear she wanted Amy out of the house but, late on Tuesday night, began to question if that was the right move. The HOH decided that Ashley is actually good for her game and, if she's wanting safety heading into Week 2, it's good to have allies.

As a result, she's using her two main alliances, The Crossovers (Rick Devens, Angela Murray, Barrett Pfeiffer, and Drew Campbell) and The Red Corner (Kamu Kirk, Haley Thogmartin, and Chuk Anyanwu), to ensure Ashley lives to see another week. Assuming just those people vote the way she wants, Ashley will be safe if she doesn't win the BB Blockbuster. Bad news for Taylor and Yash, who don't seem to know they're in danger if they lose the Blockbuster.

Being "Inconsequential" Has Saved Ashley...This Time

Dee is letting Kamu take the lead in thinking it's his idea to save Ashley, but the overall logic in keeping her over Yash or Taylor is simple. Ashley is "inconsequential" to the game at this point, having yet to form a solid alliance with anyone in the house. Yash and Taylor are forming bonds with others, so it makes more sense for the two afformentioned alliances to target them rather than someone who isn't a threat.

Being the outsider in the early game of Big Brother doesn't always work out, as some casts decide to pick off those people so they can all relax and settle into the game. This time around, it worked in Ashley's favor that she doesn't have any solid group she's working with, whether she's aware of it or not.

Of course, she will need to find her people eventually, because being the outsider only works for so long. JC Monduix from Season 20 is the only recent Houseguest I can think of who successfully operated as an outsider most of the game and, even then, he was an unofficial member of the dominant "Level Six" alliance toward its end. Ashley could survive as a reliable vote for either growing alliance, but it's going to take her realizing she's essentially a free agent up for grabs in these early weeks. We'll see if she catches on but, for now, it's looking like she's safe.

Big Brother continues on the 2026 TV schedule with new episodes on CBS on Wednesday and Thursday at 8:00 p.m. ET. Right now, I'm curious to see what will happen if Ashley wins the BB Blockbuster, and who the house would be more apt to keep between Taylor and Yash.

Most of the reality competition show chatter right now is centered on Big Brother and more specifically, the casting of Survivor favorites Dee Valladares and Rick Devens on 28. Their surprise inclusion in the cast, along with BB legend Angela Murray has added a really fun and chaotic twist so far, but it turns out Dee and Rick aren’t the only two Survivor alums returning to television. One of Dee’s fellow castaways from 45 is about to get her chance, and it’s about freakin time.

Survivor 45 is best remembered for Dee’s pretty consistent domination throughout the season (and Emily Flippen greatness), but it’s also remembered by hardcore fans as a season of missed opportunities for two players who seemed to have really high upside: Kaleb and Kellie. They both had strong social games and looked good strategically but wound up being the first two members of the jury. They’re both consistently mentioned by fans as ideal returning candidates, but it looks like Kellie is about to get her shot on another reality show first.

FOX announced this week that it’s bringing back the game show 99 To Beat in the Fall to pair with breakout favorite The Floor, and rumors are swirling about some deep cut reality characters that are being brought back. Kellie Nalbandian has consistently been part of those rumors, and some of her friends, including the aforementioned Dee, have commented on social media about how excited they are to see her play. That’s enough for me to assume this is happening, and I am fired up about it.

If you haven’t watched 99 To Beat yet, you’re missing out. It sounds like the dumbest show in the entire world, but it’s an absolute blast. It follows 100 contestants who compete in a series of really simple tasks. One of them might be threading a needle and sewing two things together. One of them might be dropping a quarter into a shot glass inside a fish bowl.

Whoever finishes last is eliminated, and everyone else moves forward to the next task until eventually, there’s only one person left who wins the grand prize. Once you get a few challenges in, everyone starts taking it really, really seriously, and it leads to desperation, a lot of crying and even the occasional medical emergency. It needs a few minor tweaks, but the spirit of the show is fantastic.

During the first season, a bunch of reality show veterans participated including Survivor Queen Sandra Diaz-Twine and former winner Danni Boatwright, as well as Challenge favorite Cara Maria Sorbello and Big Brother’s Tommy Bracco. Kellie will reportedly be joined by other reality TV alum including Quinn from Big Brother and Daya Betty from Drag Race.

99 To Beat will officially return in late September. There’s no point in speculating how Kellie will do because there’s so much chance involved, but as a fan of her Survivor run, I hope we’re at least going to see a deep run and a lot of confessionals. Until then, we can all watch Dee dominate Big Brother and maybe, just maybe give us a little entertainment with a showmance.

Anyone who spends a lot of time watching the Big Brother live feeds will tell you that things are typically pretty quiet during the morning hours, particularly if you're watching from the east coast. The houseguests are on Pacific time, and many of them sleep late, so it was a surprise to me when I saw that something chaotic had happened before the lights even came on in the Big Brother house.

Is it the best idea to load up a bunch of champagne glasses onto a tray while standing in a dark kitchen? Maybe not, but that's what Taylor was apparently doing on the feeds this morning, until the whole tray came crashing down. Check it out below:

Listen, I'm as clumsy as they come. So clumsy, in fact, that I wouldn't even attempt to put more than one -- maybe two -- champagne flutes on a tray before trying to carry it anywhere. Taylor is clearly more confident in her balance, however, and it unfortunately led to the floor being covered in broken pieces of the glasses. But I can also fully relate to her standing there for six solid seconds. I couldn't tell you what she was thinking in those moments, but if that were me, you'd be witnessing my brain simultaneously trying to process what just happened, registering immediate, excruciating regret for the attempt, and also trying to figure out how I was going to get out of the kitchen amidst a minefield of broken glass. This would all be followed by thoughts about how I was going to clean up the mess and whether or not I just woke up half the house. It's a lot for first thing in the morning.

Her getting mad at Big Brother for turning on the lights was the icing on this hilariously chaotic cake. If the sound of the glasses breaking didn't wake people up, the lights surely would.

If you're wondering why Taylor seemed to be preparing to serve drinks so early in the morning, my guess is that it was part of the plan to celebrate LaTrice's birthday. I doubt there's champagne available (or enough for the whole house), but maybe she was planning to serve something else in the glasses to kick off the celebration. LaLa's birthday festivities are already underway on the feeds today, but flutes of juice, water or protein shake are likely off the menu now.

Of course, the feed-watchers are having fun reacting to the mishap:

Big Brother Season 28 is off to a rocking start, and Dee Valladares may find more than just strong allies during her Week 1 HOH reign. Rome Seymour and Lyric Medeiros may have the spotlight for now, thanks to their budding showmance and "boner" talk. However, it looks like yet another romance is brewing between Dee and Barrett Pfeiffer.

Those watching Big Brother live feeds with their Paramount+ subscription may already know, but there's been some real romantic tension brewing between Dee and Barrett the past few days. Here's what we're seeing, and what may have Dee distracted from the less-than-ideal results of the Week 1 veto competition.

What Dee And Barrett Have Said About Each Other

The Sunday, July 12th episode of BB dropped the first clue that a showmance between Dee and Barrett was possible, as the latter confessed he had a "crush" on the recently revealed mystery Houseguest. For those who need a reminder, here's what Barrett said in the diary room regarding Dee:

Barrett has eyes for the Survivor winner and Season 50 cast member, and it would appear he's not the only one. Here's what Dee had to say about Barrett when talking to the cameras on the live feeds (via Tooms):

Live feeders have also noticed the two touching each other's knees during game talk, and there was some additional flirtation happening in the backyard when they were tossing bean bags back and forth. It could just be they're being super friendly, but the more I see, the more I'm convinced it's only a matter of time before we see a full-blown romance blossom between these two.

I'm Fully On Board With This, Both As A Showmance And Final 2

I'm a sucker for a showmance but, beyond that, I'm a sucker for a smart showmance. I think the only element keeping Barrett and Dee apart right now is the fact that they know it's not great for their games to be openly making eyes at each other and seen as a duo. They both understand how reality TV works, and both want to win Big Brother.

I think there's a way for this showmance to work and become a dangerous alliance in this game as they pick apart their opponents. Granted, it's only Week 1 and, while Dee is thriving right now, it's easy to look like you're controlling the game when you're HOH. Still, I think a strong ally like Barrett will only help her and, hopefully, they continue to explore that and find ways to complement each other's games. Of all the Big Brother alliances formed by the cast in Season 28, this is my favorite duo by far.

Big Brother continues on CBS with new episodes on Wednesday and Thursday, both starting at 8:00 p.m. ET. I'll be watching to see if we get a "showmance" edit for Dee and Barrett, though it may be a little too soon to pull the trigger on that right now.

Most of the fan talk around Big Brother 28 so far has been about Survivor veterans Dee and Rick Devens, as well as returning BB favorite Angela. Arguably the second most popular topic of conversation, however, has been about the showmance between Lyric and Rome, which got really serious, really quickly. The two met like a week ago, and they’re already talking about continuing their relationship on the outside.

Much to the confusion, annoyance and fascination of their fellow houseguests and fans who have figured out how to watch the live feeds, they’re also not being shy about public displays of affection. They’ve been sleeping in the same bed, baby-talking and even making out on the hammock outside. The live feeds caught that last part and clearly so did producers. They paged Rome to the Diary Room mid-kissing, and the way he got up and walked off seemed hilariously familiar to a lot of fans. Check out the clip…

Whether it’s because he’s hunched over or because he’s clawing at his shorts or because he’s moving slowly, a lot of viewers are convinced he’s fighting off an erection. Comments under the post referred to it as his “boner walk” or hilariously mentioned they’ve done that walk themselves before. In conversations under other related posts, fans have pointed out that this isn’t even the first time this season that Rome has been accused of getting an erection during an encounter with Lyric.

There was a previous incident in which the two of them were heavily flirting on a shared bed in a common room after he accused her of following him around. Fans thought they noticed something in his pants, and the video was humorously passed around on social media. Then later, during an entirely separate conversation, he fiddled with himself and told Lyric the production microphone had accidentally gotten “wrapped around (his) johnson.”

I’m not sure any of this is a good strategy for winning Big Brother, but it’s definitely a good strategy for keeping the fanbase entertained. Rome and Lyric’s budding relationship has been a constant source of amusement since the live feeds turned on over the weekend. Fans have cropped videos of Rome calling himself Romeo and her Juliet. They’ve cropped videos of her saying she’s going to let him win if they make the Final 2. They’ve cropped videos of them changing sleeping positions and him talking about how he lifted weights in front of her to first try and get her attention.

Fortunately, despite all their shenanigans, Rome and Lyric seem to be in a pretty good position. They’re both friendly with most of the people in the house, and neither one of them has been the subject of many negative conversations or been put on the block, except for all the mild annoyance related to their constant PDA and baby talk conversations. I'm sure that'll get old at some point.

We're midway through Week 1 of Big Brother Season 28, and it's already off to a promising start. Dee Valladares, the final mystery Houseguest, won the Week 1 Head of Household and got to work trying to use her skills as a Survivor winner to try and take control of the game.

Dee nominated Yash Patel, Mallory Aurichio, and Taylor Brown for eviction. Of course, one of the two could save themselves by winning the veto competition or by convincing the winner to remove them with the nomination block. CinemaBlend, as always, is watching Big Brother's live feeds, and now that the results of the first veto are here, I'm happy to say we're in for an exciting week!

Mallory Won The Week 1 Veto

Mallory scored a big win for herself in Week 1, successfully preventing what seemed to be an assured eviction. It's so hard to convince other new and unfamiliar cast members to remove somebody from the block during the early days, so she basically needed to win this competition to keep herself from going home. I'm curious to see if she'll be able to find some ground and gain some protection in the coming weeks, or if we'll continue to see her as a recurring target on the block.

Dee Already Has A Plan For Renom, And A Target

As of Sunday afternoon, Dee has pretty consistently told others she plans to nominate Ashley Trail when Mallory pulls herself off the block. While she'll be at risk for eviction, she's not the intended target. For now, it sounds like Yash will be the person Dee is pushing for eviction, assuming all goes to plan.

Of course, with the BB Blockbuster, Yash could also save himself and make the house decide between Ashley and Taylor. As it stands, it seems like Dee would push for Taylor to stay over Ashley, but there's no word on how the rest of the house feels about that. Ideally for both women, it would be ideal if one of them wins the Blockbuster, and Yash can be sent home.

It feels like Yash is in a bad spot, but there's still plenty of time for him to rally for support, or for another Houseguest to dig their own grave. Who knows, maybe someone on slop will fly off the handle, and Dee's plans could change completely. I'm also not ruling out the time travel twist negating an eviction, though I doubt we'd see that happen in the first week.

Big Brother continues with new episodes on CBS on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 8:00 p.m. ET. I'm eager to see which of the nominated Houseguests steps up in these days leading up to eviction, and possibly flips the script that we see coming together post-veto.

Rick Devens is one of the most chaotic players in the history of Survivor. Between finding real hidden immunity idols, planting fake hidden immunity idols and lying about what advantages he may or may not have, he played harder and weirder than his fellow castaways during both of his seasons. Big Brother producers are hoping they’ll get that same outside the box weirdness from him this summer, but unfortunately, there’s one problem with that.

During the refurbished Big Brother Unlocked, Devens said during an interview that producers told him he isn’t allowed to make up his own advantages. Unlike Survivor, there are rules on Big Brother that prevent contestants from manipulating their fellow players, at least when it comes to production directives. That guardrail is staying in place this season, despite Devens’ presence. In fact, Executive Producer Rich Meehan made that very clear during an interview with Entertainment Weekly when Devens’ outrageous history came up…

This article isn’t long enough to rundown Devens’ entire shady history with rule-bending on Survivor, but I’ll give one specific example to illustrate what I’m talking about. During Survivor 50 at the beginning of the season, he took materials he found around the beach, wrapped them up in a pocket square and planted the package inside the Tribal Council set.

Weeks later, when he thought he was at risk of going home, he told everyone he found a clue to an idol that would keep him safe but hadn’t been able to retrieve it. He then got up, tore apart the set and grabbed the package he left to the absolute shock of the other castaways. He easily survived the night’s vote, as well as several more during a deep run.

I would love to see an alternate universe where Rick is allowed to lie to everyone and says he has an advantage that lets him put four people on the Block or some such nonsense. That’s not going to happen, but I’m hopeful he’ll still find a way to do a few really unexpected things. That’s certainly what production is hoping for. Here’s another quote from Meehan…

As of now, Rick is still playing it pretty low key in the house. If the live feeds are any indication, he’s built up a lot of strong relationships already, and he looks like he’s in a pretty good position with most of the houseguests, apart from Jason who is skeptical of him and the other reality show veterans like Dee and Angela. I suspect he’ll continue to blend and try not to get too crazy for a few weeks, but if at any point he starts to feel his back against the wall, that’s when we might see something really wacky, even if he’s been partially handcuffed by producers.

Big Brother Season 28 is officially underway on the 2026 TV schedule, and we've already got some spoilers ahead of the live feeds starting. Thanks to a longtime BB insider, we now feel relatively certain we know the identity of the Week 1 Head of Household, who also turned out to be the final mystery Houseguest.

As those who watched the premiere may know, only the mystery Houseguests were allowed to compete in the Week 1 HOH competition. This means it was between "two-time Survivor loser" Rick Devens, Season 26 Houseguest Angela Murray and Rachel Reilly. Well, at least it included Rachel Reilly for a minute, until she was pushed into a volcano by a dinosaur.

At the end of the first episode, we were told she would be replaced by another mystery reality tv legend, and now we know who that is thanks to @Hamsterwatch.

Survivor's Dee Valladares Is The Last Mystery Houseguest And The Week 1 HOH

Big Brother went big for its final mystery Houseguest, and snagged Survivor Season 45 winner and Season 50 competitor Dee Valladares as its final Houseguest. Dee then competed against Rick and Angela for the HOH, and reportedly ended up winning the Week 1 HOH competition.

There are no details on what the competition is yet at this time, but a chance we could learn about it on the upcoming episode of BB: Unlocked. I'll be tuning in because I'm curious to see how the show changes with Jerry O'Connell as a host, but also because the live feeds will switch on immediately after.

How Will Dee Run Her Week 1 HOH?

If she's planning to try to win Big Brother like she did Survivor, expect to see Dee try to get in tight with at least three other Houseguests and attempt to run the game with a majority alliance. I think Rick and Angela would be obvious allies as the other vets in the game, but given Angela's wild card status and propensity for outbursts, she may look for a more reliable ally.

If we're looking at other people Dee might align with in the Big Brother Season 28 cast, I think another move would be to get in with the three players who just won safety in their respective competitions. Chuk Anyanwu, Rome Seymour, and Jason De Puy cannot be nominated this week, so I think she'd be smart to take advantage of that and try to align with some of the newbies to shield herself.

By the time the live feeds switch on, we should have explicit confirmation Dee won the HOH competition, as well as who all she nominated for eviction. Remember, per the new rules, Dee will have to nominate three Houseguests, and then if one of them wins the veto, a fourth. Also, thanks to the BB Blockbuster, only one of those three is guaranteed to leave this week, so she'll need all the help she can get from allies come Week 2.

I can't wait to see how it all shakes out, and psyched that Sunday's Big Brother episode on CBS is also a 90-minute special. Tune in at 8 p.m. ET to see what Dee decides to do, and get a look at the Have-Not room and see how it measures up to the awful ones of the past.

The 2026 TV schedule has finally revealed Big Brother Season 28's premiere date, and it wouldn't be the start of the season without one more vague hint from Julie Chen Moonves. The host did an interview about the house and how the Lazy Susans in the kitchen are more important this season than we may assume.

Julie gave a house tour to CBS Mornings in a new video, where she also dropped the reveal that all is not as it appears when it comes to those two spiral discs on the roundtable. Here's what she had to say specifically:

It's wild to see Julie show more personality than her typical "ChenBot" persona on Big Brother, but I digress. She revealed ahead of the premiere that the Lazy Susans seen below are part of the season's Time Trip twist, but I'm not exactly sure we can figure out how based on what we've seen so far:

Fortunately, as someone who has previously already clocked an item that could have some relevance in the BB 28 house, I have some theories. Here's what I'm thinking so far, though, as always, I'll defer to the motto that we should always "expect the unexpected."

Food Challenges Are Coming Back

Lazy Susans on a table, in my mind, are often a place where food is placed. We also know that Big Brother Season 28's big theme involves time travel, so maybe a long-gone element from early seasons is making a comeback! Could we possibly see Food Challenges make a big return?

For the uninitiated, Food Challenges were a weekly competition in which the Houseguests had to play a game that dictated which groceries they'd receive for the week. Because not every item was guaranteed, there'd be times when they'd hit the jackpot and get a full buffet of items, and other times when they'd get all bread and veggies with no meat. Of all the ways Big Brother could nod at the past, I'd love to see this twist return the most.

Slop Items Will Rotate Week To Week

Slop is such a hot-button issue in recent seasons of Big Brother, with fans complaining it rarely has a meaningful impact on the season. Either we make slop interesting again, or do away with it, and while there are those on the site who prefer the latter, I think the show should consider shaking things up.

I think back to Season 14 that allowed viewers to vote on two items that the Have-Nots could have outside of slop. Or, maybe just give them other wild stuff to live on, like a week on anchovies and bananas. I think that would at least create more discussion and increase slop's relevance. Oh, the slop items would be displayed on the Lazy Susan, which is where it fits into this discussion.

The Key Wheel Is Coming Back

I want to preface this by saying that I don't believe this is the case, but because enough people want it to return, I'll manifest it. Maybe, just maybe, the Lazy Susans are meant for a key wheel to be placed on, and we're finally going to see the nomination ceremony unfold like it used to in the old days.

Ultimately, we have no idea how the Lazy Susans will play into Big Brother, and who knows just how relevant they are to Season 28. It's Julie's job to be the hype woman for the franchise, and for all we know, the way it relates to the twist is that they spin when the house goes "back in time" and revisits previous eras. Let's not forget how kooky this show gets; that could legitimately be all they do.

With the new Houseguests having moved in on Tuesday, I'm all the more eager to see the live feeds start after Big Brother: Unlocked on Friday. I'm dying to see who is getting along, who already had a blowout fight, and which Houseguest might've gotten removed before the first eviction ever started. This season is sure to be great, even if the Lazy Susans don't end up being as significant as advertised.

Big Brother Season 28 kicks off on CBS on Thursday, July 9th at 8:00 p.m. ET. Get ready for the 90-minute premiere and all sorts of fun over the next three months as we watch the reality series crown its next winner!

It’s been a little over twenty years since The Amazing Race won the first Emmy for Outstanding Reality-Competition Program, and in the time since, the Television Academy has steadily added more awards to honor the great work being done in the reality space. Given the popularity and staying power of the genre, those honors have been well deserved, but there’s still one huge omission the Television Academy needs to fix.

Producers, hosts, casting departments, cinematographers, costume designers and more working professionals are now eligible to win dedicated categories, but the actual people we tune into these shows to watch still aren’t eligible to win anything at the Emmys. That’s a problem, and it’s also a huge missed opportunity. We need a category that’s for Best Reality Competition Contestant And/ Or Cast Member, and we need it as soon as possible.

Imagine an alternate universe in which Survivor legends like Boston Rob, Parvati Shallow, Sandra Diaz-Twine and Cirie Fields were Emmy nominees or even winners. Imagine a world in which Big Brother favorites like Rachel Reilly, Dan Gheesling and Taylor Hale could brag forever about being recognized by the Academy. Imagine if standouts from Drag Race, Top Chef, Amazing Race, American Idol, Love Island, The Traitors and other competitions were eligible to do more than just win the show.

And that’s doubly true for the stars of more traditional reality shows. The Real Housewives are the most obvious example. Nene Leakes, Lisa Vanderpump, Teresa Giudice and so many others have turned millions of people into passionate and dedicated fans. They’re fantastic at what they do and deserve the chance to be honored in the same way as the stars of more traditional scripted shows. How much drama and intrigue and fun would have been created by some of these women being put head-to-head in the same Emmy category? I’d watch a multiple episode arc of that every season.

I’m sure there are any number of practical reasons why this hasn’t happened. I’m sure there are issues with union vs non union performers. I’m sure there are issues with feeling like these personalities are supposed to be “real people” and not professionals working on a show. I’m sure it would be awkward for voters to try and figure out how to compare Tom Sandoval to Rick Devens and Bob The Drag Queen.

I get that it’s complicated, but the Emmys are about honoring people doing great work in television. Clearly, the Television Academy has decided the reality genre is worth celebrating and is here to stay. I agree. Now it’s time to start celebrating the actual people we’re watching each season. With all due respect to hosts, it’s the actual contestants who make or break a season. Assumedly, that’s why, back in 2017, the Academy officially added Outstanding Casting For A Reality Program. Now it’s time to do the same for the contestants and cast members.

If it were up to me, I’d add four categories and do Best Male Star In A Reality Show, Best Female Star In A Reality Show, Best Male Competitor In A Competition Show and Best Female Competitor In A Competition Show. Honestly though, I’d settle for just one that more generally honors the stars in the entire Reality-Competition space. They’ve collectively earned their moment. Now it’s time we give it to them.

Big Brother Season 28 is coming to the 2026 TV schedule, and we now know some, but not all, of the Houseguests participating. As host Julie Chen Moonves teased during the "Broveal," more names will be announced during the premiere. Now, I have a lot of questions.

Before getting to those, however, let's get to the meat and potatoes. Here are some of the people who are competing, including one you might've already seen with a Paramount+ subscription, and some new faces you'll no doubt be obsessed with months from now. Take a look:

As mentioned, Jason De Puy was on RuPaul's Drag Race, and fans may know them as their drag persona, Salina EsTitties. Another notable is Lyric Medeiros, who appeared on ABC's version of American Idol back in Season 21. That's two former reality stars, which confirms the rumor about returnees, but what does this mean for the unannounced Houseguests?

How Many More Houseguests Will Be Announced?

Fourteen Houseguests in a Big Brother season is not unheard of, but Big Brother has already confirmed that more names will be announced. The question is how many we should expect, considering the record for most Houseguests in a season is currently 17. Assuming that record isn't broken, would this mean we should only expect three more people?

The roundtable in the press photo of the Big Brother house has 15 seats, and of course the HOH stands during nominations. That has me thinking we'll have 16 Houseguests, but there could always be some twist tied to the theme that allows for more Houseguests to be ineligible for nomination or something of that nature. My mind is literally racing thinking of all the possibilities.

Are Returning Reality Stars Still On The Table?

There have been plenty of rumors about Big Brother Season 28 featuring returning Houseguests, as well as reality stars from other CBS shows. I'm not saying they're all accurate, though there were people who said previously that Salina EsTitties would be part of this season a while back. We've also seen rumors that former Survivor players could participate, as well as people from The Challenge and The Amazing Race.

We've also heard that former BB Houseguest Angela Murray is part of the returning cast and might be the only representative of the past this season. I'm not going to be thrilled if that's the case, but suffice it to say I'll be very interested to see just how many mystery Houseguests are introduced, and if there's a chance BB: Unlocked's fan vote plays a factor.

Hopefully, we have all the answers by Thursday, when Big Brother kicks off on CBS with a 90-minute premiere. Until then, I'm spiraling and continuing to expect the unexpected while we wait for more clues and reveals.

Big Brother Season 28 is keeping the surprises coming ahead of its arrival on the 2026 TV schedule. We have new news that the cast reveal is imminent, and what's more, the CBS reality series is offering another way to watch live feeds without the use of a Paramount+ subscription. So what's going on, and how is YouTube involved?

A new release from Big Brother has confirmed the cast reveal will be coming on Tuesday, July 7th at 5 p.m. ET. In an unprecedented Big Brother: Broveal, however, the new cast will be revealed via a video hosted by Julie Chen Moonves, as she also gives a tour of the Season 28 house. Additionally, the live feeds will be available on YouTube, though it'll be a bit different for those used to using Paramount+ or the ad-supported option on Pluto TV.

YouTube Will Feature Big Brother's Live Feeds (But There's A Catch)

For the first time, YouTube will be a new home for Big Brother Season 28's live feeds. There is a catch, however, in that these feeds will only be available for a limited time. Users will be able to immediately access them after episodes of the show as well as the new and improved Big Brother: Unlocked. They'll only be available for a limited time, however, so anyone who gets hooked will eventually need to get Paramount+ or Pluto TV.

The interesting part of this is that it says the feeds will go live after every episode of Big Brother. As someone who lives in the Eastern Time Zone, I'm used to the live feeds being down on Thursdays until the live-eviction episode airs on the West Coast. Could this mean YouTube will have immediate access to the feeds on Thursdays? If so, I would love that, but we'll have to see if that's the case.

I'm Hype For A Cast Reveal Video, And Hope It Continues In Future Seasons

I do have to say that while I'm used to the usual method of the cast list being released in a post, I'm totally on board with the idea of seeing it in a more produced fashion. It helps build hype before the premiere, which will just be a little over forty-eight hours later on CBS.

Right now, my only disappointment is that we didn't get to see a live move-in, and that we'll see an edited rundown of the opening hours of Houseguests joining Big Brother Season 28. The good news is we already have confirmation we'll be seeing the live feeds after the first episode of BB: Unlocked on Friday, which is better than waiting all the way until Sunday when the veto competition is finished. I know many fans don't care, but as someone who loves the live feeds, this is important!

Almost all surprises for this season are revealed, but I hope the final video will give us what remains. In addition to the cast, we still have yet to see the Have-Not room, as well as the HOH bedroom. I always love to see how the Have-Not room stacks up against the past bad ones, and given we've waited so long, I have to think this one could be a doozy.

With just days before Big Brother Season 28 moves in its Houseguests and the season premiere hits the 2026 TV schedule, a new rumor has me feeling all distraught. While it was initially rumored this season would feature returning players from past seasons, a notable insider is hinting there may only be one former Houseguest coming back, and not even an ideal competitor.

This whole thing started when rumors on X started that the split house theory between "veterans and newbies" was accurate, but not in the way some assumed. Instead, it was speculated that reality stars from other shows like Survivor and The Amazing Race would be part of the veteran cast, and that only one person would be a true returning Houseguest from Big Brother. This was seemingly confirmed by noted insider Hamsterwatch, who said the following when asked how many "returnees" they were expecting. They wrote:

One returning Big Brother Houseguest isn't the end of the world, and we've seen it before. Unfortunately, it's the person it likely is that has me beside myself if this rumor is true, as mounting evidence suggests it's Season 26 Houseguest Angela Murray.

Big Brother Bringing Angela Murray As Its Sole Returning Houseguest Feels Like A Big Mistake

Assuming the Houseguests saying Angela is definitely in sequester are correct, I can't believe Big Brother would select her as the sole returnee to represent past seasons. As mentioned, we've seen this before, with Rachel Reilly's return being the latest example. In fact, this has happened quite a few times, with additional opportunities to play given to Houseguests who either fell just short of winning, or stood a good chance of doing so.

The problem is, Angela was never even close to winning, nor was she known for being exceptionally good at any one part of Big Brother. She was known for starting drama, to the point there was heavy speculation she was a plant put in by CBS to spice things up rather than actually win.

There's a laundry list of Houseguests who should've gotten that call before her, and it'll be super discouraging to see her representing the past of Big Brother, especially in a season that may draw newcomers of different fandoms. I like Angela and appreciated her time on Season 26, but if she's the sole returnee this season, that's just going to aggravate me because there were more deserving people who could've made more of the opportunity.

A House Split Between Returning Houseguests And Newbies Is Interesting, I'm Not So Sure About Reality Stars Vs. Newbies

When we first thought Big Brother Season 28 would feature an even split between returning Houseguests and newcomers, I was intrigued. I was excited to see how the house would divide, and which Houseguests would integrate with newbies and who would ultimately rise to the top in the end.

I'm far less intrigued by the idea that the cast is split between newcomers and reality stars plus Angela Murray. To me, that's basically an entirely new cast, plus someone who didn't have a solid grasp on the game the last time she played.

To me, personally, it doesn't sound like it makes for a compelling season. That feels like a problem, presumably if the goal of bringing in other reality stars would be to get a fresh set of people using a Paramount+ subscription to watch the live streams. Then again, I'm speaking as a diehard BB fan with little interest in seeing Survivor or other alums from reality shows compete on the show, compared to people I actually know.

Big Brother premieres on CBS on Thursday, July 9th at 8:00 p.m. ET. I'm hoping the cast reveal puts all these rumors to rest, and I selfishly hope we don't end up seeing what is currently rumored.

We’re just days away from the season premiere of Big Brother 28, and we’re all guzzling down rumors like the slop punishment just ended. This season’s theme is time travel, and it’s being widely speculated that we’re going to see the return of some Big Brother legends, as well as stars from other reality shows. Survivor is the crossover franchise being discussed the most, and few names have been thrown around more aggressively than that of Tyson Apostol. Let the record show, however, that he is claiming he wants no part of that.

The former winner did his weekly appearance on the Rob Has A Podcast network a few days ago, and to say he poured cold water on the rumors would be understating what happened. Not only did he deny he was going on the show, he unloaded on the entire Big Brother franchise. He said he’s been very open in the past about how much he hates it and how much he hates the “annoying Big Brother energy” many of the houseguests have. Here’s a portion of his quote…

Now, you’re probably thinking this little rant put an end to the Big Brother rumors, but you would be mistaken. Apostol has a bit of a wacky sense of humor. He once said he went on The Challenge because he knew other Survivor players were hoping to get invites, and he wanted to make them jealous. He’s not exactly someone who is honest about what’s going on all the time.

Just as there’s a history of dunking on Big Brother, there’s also a history of saying one thing and doing the exact opposite. He’s been on non-Survivor reality shows in the past, and it would not be a shock to see him show up in the Big Brother house this summer, even after this middle finger.

That being said, I’m not really sure Big Brother producers share Tyson’s unusual sense of humor. I’m not sure they would enjoy bringing on someone who just publicly ripped their show. Also, even if they did, I’m pretty sure Tyson is telling the truth. I don’t think he wants to go on Big Brother because I really do get the sense that he hates it. I don’t think he’s been doing some long-term bit to fool people.

The fun thing about this Big Brother season, however, is that we all get to speculate about what might be coming. Whether it’s Tyson or some other legend, it seems like we are going to get fun Survivor representation on the show, and I’m sure we are going to get many of the biggest names in Big Brother history back in some capacity. I can’t wait to see all the surprises, and I can’t wait to speculate with fans the entire time.

I've been watching a lot of past Big Brother seasons lately, in anticipation of Big Brother Season 28. One strong opinion about a certain twist in the game has resurfaced in me with vigor, and I need to talk about it. We recently learned that Season 28 will be themed around a "time trip." So... maybe this would be the perfect season to leave the Big Brother Slop punishment in the past?

Big Brother is a notoriously unserious show. Amidst their efforts to send one houseguest packing each week, these housebound contestants are subjected to a range of ridiculous scenarios and punishments. They're slimed during competitions and made to wear goofy themed costumes, to name a couple of examples.

Fans know and expect regular doses of absurdity from the long-running CBS series, and we wouldn't want it any other way. Slop, on the other hand, isn't fun or funny or exciting. The houseguests seem to hate it, which I know is the point, but I also don't know a single fan who cares about this particular punishment, at least, not in any kind of positive way.

Slop looks like oatmeal, but based on complaints about it from the houseguests, it sounds like it doesn't actually taste like oatmeal, nor does it have the same texture. Prior to Season 7, the food punishment each season was to restrict the impacted houseguests' diet to peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Slop was introduced during Big Brother All Stars, in 2006, and has remained the food punishment each season since. In 2011, the Have Not twist was introduced, adding an uncomfortable bedroom and cold showers to the slop punishment for the three or four affected houseguests each week.

Have Nots do have a limited number of other options (pickles, some spices and condiments, protein powder, etc.) to supplement their diets, but slop is their main food source for the week. It seems like every season, houseguests complain about how being on slop makes them feel. Whether it's lack of energy, gastrointestinal discomfort or just feeling super hungry because they're not eating the slop, it certainly seems to serve its presumed purpose of putting have nots at a disadvantage. Yet, I can't remember the last time anything slop-related was entertaining on the live feeds or in the episodes. It's just a thing that gets forced on a few houseguests each week until the Have Not punishment ends for the season.

To be clear, I'm not saying they should completely get rid of the Have Not room or punishment. I appreciate the creativity that goes into designing that room, particularly when the design relates (in some dreary, creepy or otherwise negative way) to the theme of the house. Plus, it disrupts the usual sleeping arrangements from week to week, which can have an impact on the social dynamics of the game. Keep the Have Not twist if you want, let's just lose the slop requirement, or change it to something that gives the houseguests more options to get enough to eat to be their usual selves.

I'm not sure what the substitution to slop should be. Maybe it's some other limitation on the Have Nots' diet that still allows them to get enough basic nutrients throughout the week. At the very least, maybe there's an alternate punishment to slop that houseguests can choose. Meaning, if they want to eat normal food for the day, they have to take some other punishment or restriction.

As 2026 marks twenty years since Slop was first introduced, I think it's high time Big Brother does away with it, or finds a way to change up the food restriction to make it interesting, and preferably doesn't leave the affected houseguests down for the count for days.
