Rick Devens overcame the odds and won Big Brother Season 28. He won over a lot of fans in the process, including host Julie Chen Moonves. She famously didn't appreciate his pro-Survivor superiority stance at the start of the season, but softened ahead of the finale, admitting she was a fan. However, I am curious how she felt after she gave him the layup to declare BB the superior show, and Devens took the easy way out.

Rather than say he preferred his time on the island to Big Brother, or vice versa, Devens had another response prepared. Breaking news: he didn't take a side and said this instead:

As Survivor and Big Brother fans alike congratulate Devens for closing out his time on the 2026 TV schedule $810,000 richer, this disgruntled Big Brother fan wanted an answer. In my mind, if I played two games but won a life-changing amount of money on one, that's my favorite show.

Rick Devens feels differently. We had a laugh when I recalled the moment, and he explained that he couldn't lie and say he loved Big Brother more than Survivor. He explained why:

There's no denying he's media-trained, and I totally get the analogy. He's not going to be swayed into saying Big Brother is better, but he can see the advantages of both shows and appreciate them. Both changed his life, even if one handed him a life-changing amount of money before the other.

It's somewhat ironic that, like Drew Campbell, Rick Devens would play the middle on this topic. That said, I get where his head is at. There's no sense in shutting one door when you can leave both open and let the cash flow from both directions. Even if he's gained Big Brother fans, he still has a core of Survivor followers who have supported him long before some of us knew who he was.

Maybe it's me with the problem, and there doesn't need to be tribalism when it comes to liking Big Brother and Survivor. Plenty of people enjoy both shows, and we now have a winner who represents both. Devens is certainly one of Big Brother's most memorable winners as well, even if he did get a massive leg up that many of those other winners weren't given.

Jokes aside, Rick Devens made the right moves to win Big Brother, and the jury overwhelmingly agreed. I'm eager to see him compete on reality television again, and whether he'll have anything snarky to say about those shows as well.

Big Brother Season 28 is now available to stream in its entirety on Paramount+. After watching the live feeds all season, I'll need a break before I revisit it, but I'm excited to hear we already have two new seasons on the way!

Reality television fans were very mixed during the season on whether they wanted to see one of the Survivor contestants win Big Brother 28, but to the surprise of no one, the Survivor alumni community was a lot more open to the idea. Former players rooted hard on social media for Rick Devens and Dee as the season was airing, and after Devens officially claimed victory yesterday, they came out loudly and aggressively to congratulate him.

Way too many former players posted pictures of themselves with Devens or dropped a simple congratulations message on social to run down them all, but I’ll go over a few of the most notable, as well as some of my favorites. First, we have to start with Christian Hubicki. Rick’s partner in crime on Survivor 50 made a cameo during Big Brother Unlocked to make it clear he was rooting for his buddy, and he actually filmed himself watching the final votes be counted. Christian is clearly overjoyed for his buddy, and it’s great to see how much genuine happiness and excitement he has for his friend. That’s a recurring theme with a lot of the messages from other alumni too, like say Survivor 50 winner Aubry Bracco as an example. The two were on multiple seasons of Survivor together, and Aubry made several podcast appearances during the season to advocate for her buddy Devens.

She also dropped behind the scenes pictures of the two after he won. My favorite is a shot that features Survivor and Challenge winner Chris Underwood, as well as Reem Daly, who is one of the best and wildest premerge characters in Survivor history. There was just something about that Edge Of Extinction cast. Those two were far from the only notables to comment on Devens’ win. He got a congratulations from winner and multi-time player Wendell Holland. He got a shoutout from winner Savannah Louie. Popular multi-time player and podcaster Stephen Fishbach sent out multiple tweets hyping up his win. His buddy Gavin Whitson from Edge Of Extinction, who he’s very close with in real life, posted a fun picture, and we got tweets from a murder’s row of other fun former players including Soph Balerdi, Rizo, Tiffany Seely, Omar Zaheer and even current players like Kilby.

It’s so exciting to see Devens have his moment. He’s given us some great seasons of television where he’s played really hard in the past, and it’s so much fun to see that finally result in a win. I’m really happy for him, and it’s nice to see how many of his fellow Survivor alumni are too.

Dee Valladares may not have won Big Brother, but the former Survivor winner proved she had what it took to last in the game. She even fell in love with the CBS competition series, which makes her an easy choice to return for a future all-star season or whatever the show cooks up.

With the 2026 TV schedule wrapping up its time with Big Brother, CinemaBlend submitted questions to Dee ahead of her trip to sequester ahead of finale night. I asked a hypothetical about what she'd do differently if she ever played again, and it should come as no surprise that she had to credit Rick Devens and how he played as her model:

I love that Dee owned up to the fact that she was a huge gossip and made moves strictly out of boredom. Sure, it made Big Brother Season 28 more exciting than it might've been otherwise, but it also cost her a Final 3 spot that Devens is in.

Dee didn't necessarily say she regretted how she played, but she likely understands that one can't play Big Brother the same way twice. She continued to explain why she worked the way she did, and assured CinemaBlend she'd be watching and thinking more on this topic:

As for whether Dee could return to play Big Brother, there have been many instances in the past where former Houseguests were welcomed back into the cast. There have also been many pleas for a third all-star season, despite how poorly the last one was received.

Variety reported an 8% increase in Big Brother viewership compared to last season, so it seems Dee and Devens did give the summer show an added boost. If they're bringing more ratings to a legacy show, I think it's easier to convince BB to find another season Dee can compete in.

One has to wonder how Dee would do in another season, especially one that may not grant her the same advantages she, Devens, and Angela Murray received as "Icons." They exclusively competed for the Week 1 HOH and, thanks to the fan vote, had first dibs on some of the best powers of the season. Dee benefited heavily from her BB Bribe, as well as the Diamond Power of Veto that Devens won that saved her from eviction.

Remove the powers and go into the house with the reputation that you backstab all your allies? Playing Big Brother a second time would be a rough journey for Dee, but I think she's enough of a gamer that she could find a way to survive.

It'll be interesting to see what all the Houseguests have to say about Big Brother Season 28 a couple of weeks after the season ends. Unfortunately, I'm already jonesing for another season, so I can't wait to watch it all again come next summer!

Big Brother Season 28 brought Survivor vets Rick Devens and Dee Valladares into the game to compete, and Julie Chen Moonves didn't hide her feelings about them. The host didn't appreciate the cockiness of Devens in particular, but has since confirmed she's warmed up to what she originally saw as someone she once described as "performative."

As the 2026 TV schedule brings us to the season finale, Devens may become the first former Survivor player to win Big Brother. Ahead of the finale, Moonves spoke to EW about her previous comments about the competitor and how watching him compete on Big Brother changed how she felt about him.

What Julie Chen Moonves Originally Thought Of Rick Devens

Julie was pretty blunt in her assessment of Devens prior to the season, and fans keeping up with the memes almost certainly saw the clip. She said it seemed that Devens didn't understand the basic fundamentals of BB, and she didn't get what the hype was about:

That clip has gone viral a hundred times over this season, but never with the first sentence that directly tied it to Devens. It's hilarious that it got so popular, especially now that Julie Chen Moonves has to walk back her comments.

Julie Apologized, Clarified, And Explained Why She's Now Supporting Rick Devens

After seeing him win in competitions and seeing him make the moves you need to win Big Brother, Julie is ready to say she was wrong. Granted, Julie said she was originally rooting for Devens at first, after hearing she had something in common with him:

Julie apparently doesn't watch Survivor on CBS or with her Paramount+ subscription, because she was in the dark about the details on Rick Devens. She learned soon enough, however, that he was a big fan of Jeff Probst and ready to show his pride on her show.

Rick and Julie got off on the wrong foot during the first live show, when he did something that ruffled her feathers. The host recalled the moment and how his first eviction vote made her see red:

It's nice to see she felt just as passionately mad about that moment as some Big Brother fans. Sure, there's a lot of crossover where people who enjoy the reality show also love Survivor. That said, shouting out Jeff and rocking a buff in the house felt like disrespect and made it easy to root against him early on.

Slowly but surely, Rick got a better grasp on Big Brother. While he still had some annoying habits, even his wife and mother-in-law couldn't tolerate, Julie conceded that he won her over:

I think many Big Brother fans would say Rick Devens is a deserving winner, and arguably a bigger legend in this game than he's been in Survivor. Sure, "Chaos Devens" was fun on the island, but he's spent more time in the BB house in one season than he did in two seasons on Survivor.

Whether Devens wins Big Brother is a different story. He's done one hard part by winning Part 2 of the Final HOH competition, meaning he'll compete in Part 3, which takes place during the live finale. If he loses, there's a good chance that he's cut by Taylor before Final 2, as she believes she has a chance to win against Drew Campbell.

Just as Big Brother is about to end on the 2026 TV schedule, there's word that another show is on the way from its executive producers. Allison Grodner and Rich Meehan created an unprecedented reality television show with its live feeds, and it looks like they'll do it again with 24 Hour Millionaire. Listen up, BB viewers, because you may want to check this one out.

If you like watching Big Brother online, I have to imagine you'll be a fan of this series that Variety reports is in pre-production. Contestants can become a millionaire in just a day, and apparently, cameras will be there to film every single minute of it. Check out the logline:

It sounds like competitors are going to have to do their best Jack Bauer impersonation, given the round-the-clock element. It gets even crazier than that, however, as the logline goes on to reveal the entire game is played on no sleep:

This sounds absolutely wild, and while nothing is mentioned about watching it live with a Paramount+ subscription, I totally would. If my job wasn't reporting on television, I'd probably even call in to work to watch, but I guess I can multitask. 24 Hour Millionaire sounds like it could be the most intense reality show yet, assuming it lives up to the hype of its description.

One thing I'd love to know is if we'll be watching every hour live as it unfolds, or if this is a case where there are a ton of cameras filming at once, and we watch the whole day play out over a course of twenty-four episodes. Honestly, I love the concept either way, especially when factoring in sleep deprivation.

The lack of sleep will be key, because I feel like reality TV producers are struggling to recreate the drama that accompanied titles from the genre's early years. It's been a while since we've seen some truly iconic Big Brother moments, for example, and maybe all we needed was a highly motivated gamer running on zero hours of sleep to deliver quality TV.

I also couldn't help but notice the logline mentioned "The most skilled game players," which has me wondering if this is going to be another reality show that taps the stars of other franchises. We've seen The Traitors have success with bringing in celebrity cast members, and Big Brother found success in bringing in Survivor vets to boost its ratings in Season 28. Is this going to be a case where the show will only be for known reality stars?

It may take a while before we find out, as the show isn't officially in production, nor does it have a premiere date. That said, 24 Hour Millionaire certainly has my attention, and I'll be eager to see how it measures up to other reality shows.

Big Brother Season 28's finale is just around the corner, and as sad as I am to see this series wrap up its time on the 2026 TV schedule, we still have a winner to crown! Someone is going to win that prize money, and I feel relatively sure who comes out on top in all but one pairing. I think it's clear that Rick Devens wins in any Final Two situation, end of story. The question I have is who comes out on top between Taylor Brown and Drew Campbell, especially with Taylor winning Final HOH Part 1 and Devens taking Part 2. Do we have an upset in the works, or is that just wishful thinking?

Where I Think The Votes Currently Fall Between Drew And Taylor

The jury is probably eager to get to finale night, what with the fight between Angela Murray and Melody Morris in their house, and they hold the power to decide who will win. I think that if we based the votes on people counting on their allies to vote for them at the end, it would look like this:

• Dee - Drew
• Melody - Drew
• Barrett - Drew
• Yash - Taylor
• Angela - Drew
• Lala - Taylor

Drew wins in that situation, but as fans likely know, Houseguests don't always vote for their allies in the end. We also know that Barrett Pfeiffer and Melody said weeks ago that they'd vote for Taylor over Drew, while they were still in the game. Yash admitted he respected Drew's overall gameplay now that he was in the jury house, and Lala mentioned that she viewed Melody's game as only "slightly" better than Taylor's. If you were to factor all those hypotheticals in, the votes look like this:

• Dee - Drew
• Melody - Taylor
• Barrett - Taylor
• Yash - Drew
• Angela - Drew
• Lala - Drew

I also look back at the comments Barrett shared with CinemaBlend about Drew, and how kind Melody was with her sentiments about him. There's a possibility that Drew is unanimously voted the winner, and we're not even factoring the most important element I think that I think could allow Taylor to pull out the win.

Would Taking Out Devens Impact The Jury's View Of Taylor's Game?

If the jury views comp equity as the driving factor in whether someone should win Big Brother, then they have to consider the circumstances that would put Taylor in the Final Two. For this pairing to happen, she'd have to win Final HOH, and evict Devens, who is the odds-on favorite to win. As far as resumes go, that's a pretty big thing to hang your hat on.

Take that, plus the fact that she won the Final Four HOH, and I think the jury has a lot to think about. Keep in mind, a lot of them made those comments before Taylor's biggest wins. I think there's a chance at least some of them are swayed by those wins ahead of the Big Brother finale, and could swing Taylor's way.

Specifically, I think Taylor would need Melody and Barrett to break her way, and for Lala and Yash to vote for her to win as well. I don't believe any of the Icons would vote for Taylor over Drew, just based on what they've said all season. The seem to view a Drew win as someone riding off their coattails to victory, and they were too disconnected from Taylor throughout the game to appreciate the moments she had an impact.

Is it unfair that Taylor could still lose to Drew after pulling off arguably two of Big Brother's most impressive wins in Season 28? Without question, but this is why it's so important to fill a jury with members of your own alliance. Drew has the edge because the people he worked closest with are ready to vote for him, and he wasn't directly responsible for their exits.

We'll see how the votes fall on finale night when Big Brother kicks things off on October 1st at 8:00 p.m. ET. Will we get the predictable ending in Devens winning it all, or will one of the newbies become a new legend?

Dee Valladares came into Big Brother as a former winner of Survivor, a show some would argue is the superior reality competition series to appear on. Let's face it, Survivor prize money is better, and contestants spend a third of the time on the island that they would in the BB house. And yet, Dee came out of the experience saying she loves the show, and believe it or not, the length is a major reason why.

CinemaBlend had a chance to submit questions for Dee ahead of her trip to the jury house. After asking how she managed to stay in the game for so long despite being a massive target, I had to know what she loved about playing Big Brother. I was surprised to hear that she found the amount of time she was in the house to be one of the best parts, and she explained her reasoning:

First off, it's funny to hear a Survivor winner say they loved playing Big Brother, especially after Cirie Fields struggled so much in Season 25. Cirie was more or less over the experience toward the end of her time in the game. However, based on the way Dee talks about this, it sounds like she'd jump at the chance to come back next season.

Dee added that another element that elevated the experience was the incredibly open nature of the gameplay. The former Houseguest, who was evicted when Drew chose Rick Devens over her to take to the Final Three, explained that she most enjoyed the open feeling of the game and the freedom it allowed:

I can understand why Dee may feel she had so much freedom after she successfully bent the rules of her BB Bribe to guarantee safety for her and the Icons against Yash Patel. Some believed the way Dee manipulated the rules made for unfair gameplay, but the fact that it was allowed showed how much of a master gamer she is.

Ultimately, Dee fell short of winning Big Brother, and I think there were some questions about whether she would've gotten the jury votes she needed to win in any case. I'd love to see her come back to play a more low-key game, but I question whether Dee would be capable of that, given her constant need to make moves in Season 28.

It's interesting to see Dee's thoughts, and I'll be curious to see what Rick Devens has to say when he comes out. He's officially lasted more days in Big Brother than he ever did across his appearances on Survivor. If he ends up winning that big prize money, would he say he prefers BB to life on the island?

We won't have long to wait and find out, as Big Brother Season 28's finale airs on CBS on October 1st amid the 2026 TV schedule. I'm genuinely not sure who is going to win this season, but I'm sure there will be a lot to say after that's finally revealed.

Some of the best reality shows have always been reality competition shows, but among them Big Brother is pretty unique. Houseguests spend weeks together in a relatively small space feeling out the game, and becoming both friends and enemies in the process. The houseguests also get toiletries, snacks and even costumes during this time, leading me to wonder: What exactly do Big Brother houseguests get to take home?

Yes, They Can Keep Some Of The Clothes

Thank goodness for the Internet, because Big Brother 27 runner-up Vince actually did an unboxing of what he got to take home last year. He noted that he got a lot of the fits he’d had to wear, from the egg punishment outfit to random tank tops and Hawaiian shirts he’d competed in. He got jackets, shoes, and even some props from some of the challenges. The box Big Brother sent him is honestly one of the largest boxes I’ve seen, and it really goes to show you the CBS series goes out of its way to give the contestants a lot of their stuff. It’s a nice little thank you, and it means this stuff doesn’t get thrown away or recycled from season to season.

In one viral punishment this year, Mallory and Melody were forced to be tied together in Eve bikinis covered in fauna as part of the Adam & Eve punishment. They had to wear these outfits for longer than a day and sleep tied together in them. While that’s not the worst Big Brother punishment (and maybe not even the worst this season, see: The Lady of the Lantrine) I’m not sure that’s not a fond costume they’d automatically want to keep. At least now we at least know they probably got offered.

Intriguingly, it does seem from the footage I’ve seen from previous houseguests that just because you are offered something doesn’t mean you have to keep it. Although some of those exercise costumes like the ones worn during the wall are cute, not everyone takes everything. Vince kept one of Lauren’s tank tops because “she didn’t want it” apparently. So, if you have bad memories about something, you can leave it behind or maybe even give it away.

The Big Brother Contestants Also Get Their BB Comics

Probably the coolest prop and one of the more exciting challenges is the BB comics challenge. The show puts together two version of a comic book cover for each of the houesguests, and they have to cycle through and figure out the differences between each cover. Not only do they were a superhero cape during the challenge they get to keep, but Big Brother sends them one (though seemingly not both) of the covers. If I were on the show, that would be going on my wall for sure.

It’s not just Vince, Angela put up an entire video showing she had her original comic from her first season on the reality competition show framed so she could put it up in her home. I’d presume she’ll do the same with Season 28 (particularly given she had such a better experience this time). I would think this would probably be the most memorable thing I’d want if I were competing. It’s nice to know many of them feel similarly.

Some Comfort Items Are Also Included

In Vince’s unboxing, he revealed some items from the house are thrown in. That included a blanket he apparently liked a lot and was spotted on the live feeds using, and then his key and a water bottle from the house. These items are all more personal to him, and he mentioned the blanket even smelled like the CBS property he'd lived at for a summer.

One additional thing to note though is that the Big Brother team seem to be the ones mostly deciding what to send home. In a Reddit thread some people mentioned the cast members can’t grab things like toiletries or dishes or whatever from the house on their way out. One person noted they especially aren’t allowed to take the pieces of paper they read off of that give directions about what needs to be executed on set. That last bit I find really interesting, as I wonder what directions might be on the paper we don’t hear read aloud onscreen.

There has to be a reason those are a no go right?

Regardless, I would say of all of the reality competitions I am familiar with, the Big Brother houseguests are given a huge amount of swag they can fondly look back on and wear as Halloween costumes for years and years. It’s probably not a consolation for those who did not land in the final two or win Big Brother, since stuff is clearly not as cool as taking home a lot of money, but it’s still pretty cool.

It's finale week on Big Brother, and the two winners of Part 1 and 2 of Final Head of Household have been decided. Taylor Brown clinched another win, and Rick Devens outlasted Drew Campbell for a chance to become the first Survivor player to win the CBS reality series. Who wins will largely depend on who wins Part 3, and Taylor already has a massive boost in the final competition, thanks to an unprecedented study guide. She certainly gets points for ingenuity, but I do have to wonder if what she's doing is cheating and if production will step in.

Taylor Is Using The House iPhone To Study Dates

Fans still watching Big Brother online noticed Taylor fiddling with the iPhone, which the Houseguests used to help create content for social media that would later be retrieved by production and posted. Even with the phone not connected to the internet, she manages to figure out a way to make it a helpful study guide for the final competition.

Taylor uses the iPhone's calendar function to check the dates photos were posted, which helps her keep better track of which days specific events happened. Rather than relying on memory, she has hard evidence of what events occurred on what day, which is a wild advantage we've never seen before at this stage in the game.

Should Taylor's Method Be Considered Cheating?

Additionally, there's chatter online with people wondering if what Taylor is doing constitutes as cheating, as Houseguests aren't even allowed to take notes during a usual season of Big Brother. It's a valid question, though, it doesn't seem as though production is going to do anything about it so far. She's been seen clearly using it to study on the feeds, and no one has requested she return it to the diary room.

Now, I read a comment that suggested people would be upset if this were Devens utilizing this to study and not Taylor, and that's fair. That being said, if you're not mad about how Dee Valladares exploited the BB Bribe, I'm not sure how you can be upset about what Taylor is doing.

As mentioned, Taylor is not hiding that she's using the phone as a study guide. The production staff can ask for the phone back at any time they choose, and thus far, has not done so. If you want to win Big Brother, you have to take advantage of every opportunity you get, so I think she's in the clear with this one.

Big Brother's finale is on Thursday, October 1st on CBS. I'm excited to see who ends up winning this season, and if we get any word about whether Reindeer Games or a celebrity edition is coming this winter.

Big Brother Season 28 is winding down on the 2026 TV schedule, but we still have to see who will win that $750,000 grand prize. After hearing that Taylor Brown won Part 1 of Final HOH, fans waited to see if Rick Devens or Drew Campbell would clinch the final spot.

CinemaBlend was watching Big Brother online over the weekend and can now confirm who won Final HOH Part 2. Here's who is competing in Part 3 of finale night and will have a chance to choose who they take to the end of the game.

Taylor And Devens Will Compete In Part 3 Of The Final HOH

Devens came out on top in a competition with Drew, so it'll be him and Taylor battling it out on finale night on October 1st. I can't lie, I'm a bit surprised to hear Drew lost twice, but I do know he's been dealing with a knee injury that seemingly occurred during one of the recent competitions.

Both Devens And Taylor Seem Committed To Taking Drew

Regardless of who wins this Final HOH competition, it looks like either competitor will take Drew to the end for different reasons. As for Devens, this comes down to a loyalty agreement between them and possibly a fear that he could lose to Taylor if Drew ended up voting for her after being cut by his "father."

For Taylor, cutting Rick Devens would be the biggest final move she could make a case to the jury that she's worthy of winning Big Brother. Her latest wins proved she's not quite the floater the house claimed, as winning both the Final Four and the final HOH would be a huge addition to her resume.

As for Drew, it's looking more likely that he's guaranteed second place either way, which may have some wondering if he made the wrong call in cutting Dee Valladares over Devens. Personally, I don't think so, especially if the knee trouble would be a factor in either case. Drew had to comp out to go for the win against Dee and Taylor, or he'd be leaving the game in third place.

As for who is winning, my general opinion is that if Devens is in the Final Two in any situation, he's getting the votes to win. Taylor will win if she takes Drew, and I don't think any amount of convincing from Devens is going to encourage her to pick him instead.

Tune in to CBS for the grand finale of Big Brother Season 28, and to see if another newbie wins it all, or a former Survivor legend becomes the face of a different reality competition show. I don't really have a preference. I'm just excited to see what happens!

Given the breakout popularity of The Traitors, it now seems every buzzy reality star’s long-term goal involves going to Scotland. All season on Big Brother, fans have speculated about Dee and Rick Devens and whether they’ll be hanging out with Alan Cumming next season. I get it. I want to see them in the turret too, but a new fan-led campaign focused on another show is starting to get even louder.

Many fans of reality television including myself want to see Dee and Devens on our screens again, but more specifically, a lot of fans want to see them work together. Enter The Amazing Race. The third member of CBS’ reality trifecta after Survivor and Big Brother has a long history of casting reality stars and did a season entirely composed of Big Brother players. Recently, some fans pointed out that the two would be really fun to watch race around the world together, and since then, it’s been a lot of fans vigorously nodding their heads in agreement.

It turns out CBS is potentially interested too. After numerous fans posted the suggestion on social media, the official Amazing Race account responded with the eyeballs emoji, which is at minimum a sign that production is aware of the fan campaign and at least sees the appeal of casting the two together. And how could they not?

Devens and Dee were both major characters on Survivor 50, which gave the beloved reality competition show its best ratings since Winners At War more than five years ago. This summer, the two have been on Big Brother, which has helped the show attract its best ratings since 2021. During a time in which every long-running show seems to be losing viewers, to see two trend reversals like that is a huge deal. Throw in the fan campaign, and it feels like CBS would be crazy not to at least consider bringing the two back.

The thing that makes this so appealing is the specific relationship dynamic between Dee and Devens. The two obviously get along great and worked together for the entire season until her upsetting elimination with four people left, but it’s not exactly like their rapport was always perfect. The two snipe at each other on a pretty regular basis, and they’re each not afraid to call the other one out when they’re frustrated about something going on. Those interactions would be a ton of fun to watch on Race, as the stress is through the roof. Plus, it’s a blast to watch the two compete in challenges. They both love trying to complete stupid tasks and bring very different strengths and weaknesses to the table.

I would love to see this happen and would absolutely tune in for it. Win or lose, I also think it would be great for Dee and Devens’ personal brands. With an appearance on The Challenge, a Survivor win and this extremely memorable run on Big Brother, Dee has already emerged as the biggest crossover star of Survivor’s so-called New Era. A Race appearance would be a great next step, especially since she may be locked into a CBS-specific contract as part of her BB run.

Devens doesn’t have quite the same pedigree yet, but with a really memorable run on Survivor 50 and this Big Brother season, which is either going to result in third place or a win, he’s emerging as one of the most popular recent reality stars. I know he has family considerations to deal with, but an appearance on Amazing Race could be exactly what he needs to fully get pushed to that top echelon.

Fingers crossed CBS makes this happen, and we get to watch the two have fun again next year.

Dee Valladares was finally evicted from the Big Brother house just ahead of the Final Three, which is much further along than I originally assumed she'd go. The Survivor 45 winner had a massive target on her back coming in, but even when her back was against the wall, she never gave up. It's different than what Houseguests usually do when they feel their game is "over," so I had to know if she had any words of encouragement for future Houseguests. Her approach is exactly what the series needs, and hopefully they'll take note.

As the remaining players competed in Part 1 of the Final HOH competition, I had a chance to send questions to Dee ahead of her visit to the jury house. I had to know how she managed to stay in the game when all hope seemed lost, as she had a couple of close calls even after Rick Devens saved her with his Diamond Power of Veto. Her advice, while simple is something I find other Houseguests have rarely put into action over the years. In her words:

Dee certainly put that plan in motion in the Big Brother house, and somehow managed to convince Yash Patel and Taylor Brown that it was better to save her over Angela Murray just weeks ago. Former legends of the game were baffled by the move, which may just speak to how rarely an obvious threat escapes eviction solely through conversations.

She continued, talking about the strategy she frequently employed to pull in people she wouldn't normally work with, and convince them to work with her just long enough to help her plans fall into place. The key, as she explained, is telling them anything they want to hear, even if it may not be entirely true. As she put it:

People who want to win Big Brother understand that lying is a part of the game, to the point where "bounce checks" became a quotable. Dee was pretty good at convincing others she was 100% ready to work in their best interests, even if she immediately stabbed them in the back the following week.

Dee maintained this was her greatest strategy for staying alive, and it's hard to argue with results. Honestly, she nearly outlasted Devens, and might have if only Drew Campbell hadn't spent all season seeing firsthand why you don't make a deal with her. Even so, one can never say never, and Big Brother was a place where Dee saw the light in what makes it one of the best reality shows:

Dee is now headed to the jury house, where she and the others will decide who will win between Devens, Drew, and Taylor Brown. She'll obviously be rooting for her former allies in The Crossovers, and I'll be interested to see in who she'd vote for if it came down to choosing between Devens or Drew.

As for whether we'll ever see Dee play again, that's up to Big Brother. It's worth noting that she's played Survivor twice, and ratings were good for this season. If there's an all-star season that comes up in the future, I'd expect her to get a call.

The 2026 TV schedule blessed us with another season of 99 To Beat, also known as one of the best reality shows you might be sleeping on. Those who watched know that the Season 2 premiere was a grand old time, though I was disappointed that one of my favorite Big Brother players wasn't featured more.

In addition to a fan favorite of the Survivor crowd, 99 To Beat Season 2 welcomed BB 26 Houseguest Quinn Martin. Unfortunately, I wouldn't have known it had I not kept my eyes peeled during this episode, as I had no idea where he was for the majority of the episode.

Big Brother's Quinn Martin Was Barely In The 99 To Beat Season 2 Premiere

I saw Quinn about two times from the beginning to the end of the Season 2 premiere of 99 To Beat. There was a quick shot of him in the crowd preparing for the first competition, and another short one at the end of the episode that showed he had survived all the challenges of the day.

It's a shame, because Quinn was one of my favorite personalities of recent Big Brother seasons. He leaned into the idea of playing a villainous game, but was also a nice guy with a good sense of humor. 99 To Beat is a show that likes to showcase personalities, so I'm shocked to see him not get much attention.

99 To Beat Waited A While To Reveal Former Reality Stars In Season 1, So I'm Hoping We'll See Him In The Future

I hope we'll see more of Quinn eventually, as 99 To Beat hesitated in Season 1 to show its reality show vets right off the bat. In fact, Big Brother 21 Houseguest Tommy Bracco went pretty far in the inaugural season, but didn't really get a spotlight until a few episodes in.

I should also note that 99 To Beat doesn't typically highlight its contestants too much unless they're about to go home that episode. The fact that Quinn had almost zero camera time in the first episode may bode well for his overall run and suggest he'll go quite far in this game.

All this to say, it's really hard to predict who is going to win a season of 99 To Beat. There are so many competitors, and the challenges are just so random that it's impossible to know who is going to do well and who will struggle. I will be rooting for Quinn as he continues on this season, and hoping he can get the win on this show that he missed out on over on CBS.

Big Brother Season 28 is pretty much guaranteed to have its most impactful eviction yet this week, as one former Survivor winner (at least) will head to the jury. After Taylor Brown won the Head of Household, Drew Campbell won the veto and must now decide whether he'll take Rick Devens or Dee Valladares to the Final Three.

I've been stuck watching Big Brother online, confident that Drew will take Devens at the end. That said, the overnight feeds made it clear he still seems to be struggling, and even tried to make a deal to make an already hard decision just a bit easier.

Drew Laid Out How He Believes The Game Will Go Depending On His Choice

Late last night, Drew talked out the situation with Devens. In his mind, he can cut Dee, and he has a guaranteed shot at making it to Final Two. Devens and Taylor have both promised to take him, but he's not sure he'd beat Devens at the end if they make it to the end of Big Brother.

If Drew wants to roll the dice and get that grand prize money, he thinks he should cut Devens. He believes he can beat both Dee and Taylor for Final Three HOH, and then cut Dee and take Taylor to the end and win. If Dee wins, however, he feels relatively certain she'll cut him, and he'll end the game in third place.

Drew Made A Big Ask Of Dee This Week

To try and make the decision easier, Drew approached Dee in an attempt to make a deal. If he kept her over Devens, she would throw Part 1 of the Final HOH competition to him. A win would give Drew a guaranteed shot to compete on finale night, and make his path to Final HOH that much easier.

Dee did not agree to his suggestion, but I'm not sure it would matter if she had. Everyone knows by this point she makes promises she doesn't always keep, though I guess I can't blame Drew for trying to feel her out. Still, if she agrees to it today, we'll see if he uses this as justification to take out Devens.

Will Drew Make The Logical Or Emotional Choice?

Drew is really struggling with the decision he has to make this week, and the tears suggest the struggle is he doesn't want to cut Devens. They've shared a close relationship the entire game, and while the crying has suggested to many he'll keep Dee, I think it's more of a sign that he's really struggling to decide.

Regardless of who Drew chooses, I think the choice he has to make is clear. He's going to need to cut both Icons if he wants to win the game, and he should only keep Devens if he truly believes there's no winning at this point either way.

After all, cutting Devens at the Final Four would doubtless be easier than cutting him at Final Three. If he's fine with cutting Dee, maybe it's best he save that for the end of Big Brother if he's confident he can beat both her and Taylor in the Final HOH competition. I don't think we will know what he'll do 100% until he actually makes the decision, which is absolutely wild to think about. Drew's loyalties have remained opaque until the very end.

It's been a long time since we've had a Final Four eviction that has felt so impactful, so be sure to clear primetime to watch Big Brother on CBS. This is can't-miss television, so be sure to be there for two hours of tension and game-changing decisions.

It's been a wild week for Big Brother fans, as Rick Devens shortened HOH lead to Melody Morris' eviction and eventually, Taylor Brown winning Final Four HOH. It set the stage for one of Drew Campbell, Rick Devens, or Dee Valladares to head to the jury house, and it all came down to this week's veto.

If you're watching Big Brother online or reading updates, you already know Drew won the veto. Now it's up to him to decide whether Devens or Dee goes home, and there's a ton of debate online about what he might do. I'm not hearing all that, and I think it's pretty obvious which direction he's leaning and who he'll send home come Thursday.

Why Drew Decides Who Goes Home

As the veto winner, and with only four Houseguests remaining, Drew is the sole vote this week. We know that Taylor wants him to save Dee, and that each former Survivor player wants to stay in the game. Both have promised to take him to the Final Two if they're chosen, but what really matters is if Drew believes that and who he trusts going forward.

Why Drew Would Evict Dee Over Devens

I keep hearing the arguments that Dee will sway Drew to keep her over Devens, and that it's his best path to win, but in no way do I believe that. From the start of Big Brother, Drew's one consistent strategy has been doing whatever he needed to do to last another week in the game. Right now, it doesn't matter to Drew which duo he thinks he has the best chance of winning against as much as it does the guarantee that his competitors take him to the Final Two.

Devens has cultivated a father/son relationship with Drew the entirety of the game, and that's paying off this Thursday. Whether it happens or not, Drew legitimately believes that Devens will take him to Final Two. I think part of that is why Drew is so stressed about the endgame, because he believes he may be in a position where he'll have to cut Devens if he wins the Final HOH.

I've seen the argument from Big Brother fans that Drew will take the people he thinks he can win against. Here's my argument: I believe that Drew is confident enough in himself that he genuinely believes he can beat any remaining Houseguest in a Final Two. He has to get there, so it's a bigger priority to ensure the people at the end will take him than deciding who he can beat. Personally, I think his game is already over, but I don't get the sense from Drew he believes that.

Drew has no reason to believe Dee would pick him in a Final Two situation. She's tried to send him home a couple of times during Big Brother Season 28, and he's only still in the game because he won when it mattered. To her credit, Dee's managed to escape assured eviction before, but I think her time has run out.

Ultimately, I believe both Dee and Devens are sunk if they can't win the Final HOH. Drew and Taylor don't get along, but I think they both agree they have better odds against each other than an Icon. We'll see if I'm right, or if Dee somehow manages to get out of another sticky situation.

It's been a whirlwind week in the Big Brother house, as the Pharaoh's Curse resulted in a shortened eviction cycle to speed the game along. With the finale rapidly approaching on the 2026 TV schedule, we needed to reach the Final Four, and Rick Devens HOH saw to that.

Those not watching Big Brother online have missed out, as they already missed Drew Campbell's latest veto win, an eviction, and the winner of the most important HOH competition of the season. There's a lot to talk about, so let's stop wasting time and jump in!

Melody Was Evicted After The Pharaoh's Curse

While I'm still confused about how this "curse" was anything other than a shortened eviction, someone was sent home anyway. Melody Morris was voted out, and it appears as though Devens had to break the tie when Dee voted to evict Melody and Drew voted against Taylor Brown. Devens, of course, voted to evict Melody. It wasn't unexpected, but Drew seemed happy he didn't have to vote against her.

Taylor Won Final Four HOH, Which Sets The Stage For A Huge Eviction

With her first win since the veto all the way back in Week 4, Taylor has strengthened the narrative that she's a jury threat to the remaining Houseguests. Winning the Final 4 HOH is Big Brother's biggest move, because it assures a chance to compete in the finale. She's safe this Thursday, and it will only take one vote to evict one of Devens, Drew, or Dee Valladares.

It's all going to come down to who wins the veto, and who they want to go to the end of the game with. While it's hard to get a read on everyone, it seems as though Drew and Devens are locked in on wanting to stick together, and Dee seems more set on taking Devens than Drew.

As for Taylor, she can only offer advice, provided other Houseguests will take it. I think she could maybe influence Dee to lean one way or another, but I don't see that working on Drew or Devens. The only one who seems to be waffling about what she wants to do is the Survivor winner, so her winning veto would be the most interesting outcome.

All this to say, the odds seem high right now that we will finally see either Devens or Dee go home this week. If not, they're both going to compete against each other in Big Brother's Season 28 finale. We're in for an exciting endgame, and it's looking like it's anyone's game!

Big Brother continues with a new episode on Wednesday at 10:00 p.m. ET, and the eviction on Thursday at 8:00 p.m. ET. I can't wait to see who goes and how the Final Three shapes up!

Barrett Pfeiffer is fresh out of the Big Brother house, and in a couple of weeks, he will cast his vote for the winner of that grand prize money. As such, CinemaBlend was eager to hear any thoughts he had on the remaining Houseguests. On that note, I'll admit I was surprised to hear his honest thoughts on his biggest ally, Drew Campbell, which make me wonder about Drew's odds of winning.

As the CBS reality competition series rounds out its time on the 2026 TV schedule, I had a chance to submit questions to Barrett ahead of him going into the jury house. When I asked who he was surprised to see still in the game that he wouldn't have expected early on, Drew came up. Barrett shared his thoughts on his friend and fellow Houseguest and how the rest of this game could prove challenging for him if he's in that Final Two chair:

Keep in mind that this is Drew's closest ally, openly stating that he doesn't like his chances in the late game. Barrett's not even watching Big Brother online and doesn't have the full scope of just how shady Drew could be. Is his implication that the jury may not respect his gameplay accurate, and has Drew already lost the game?

Drew playing the middle and backstabbing allies isn't a great look, but it's not like he's the only major player left who has done that. Many could say the same about Dee Valladares, who has consistently blindsided and backstabbed nearly every ally she's had.

Of course, her being a Survivor winner makes it more impressive that she's in this position, period, whereas Drew constantly selling out allies to save his own skin may feel more desperate. Yash Patel openly told Julie Chen Moonves he wouldn't vote for him, so I have to wonder how many others feel the same way.

Now, context always means everything in these interviews. Barrett was a day away from being evicted by the time of this interview, and while he is happy in the video, I'm sure his thoughts and feelings were impacted by that. He may soften his stance on Drew's game in the jury house, the same as other Houseguests when the big night arrives. Assuming Drew can make it to the end, of course, because him getting evicted before the Final Two is still a very real possibility.

Big Brother continues on CBS, but not for much longer, as the finale is set for October 1st! I can't wait to see who is crowned the winner, because I genuinely think everyone remaining has a shot at this point.

Big Brother is doing something a little different this week, as the Pharaoh's Curse is guaranteed to shake things up and send a Houseguest packing before this coming Thursday. Right now, fans are scrambling for details on what this curse entails, and it seems like the Houseguests are going down the same rabbit holes.

CinemaBlend's been watching Big Brother 28 online over the weekend, because obviously, and after learning Rick Devens won Head of Household, we also now know the veto winner. We also know who thinks they're in trouble in the aftermath, but with no concrete idea whether this twist may end up saving them from the jury house or not.

Drew Won The Week 11 Veto

It seems like Drew Campbell's superpower is winning the veto when the Icons want to turn on him, and once again he's scored a clutch win. I still think he has a long way to go to convince anyone in the jury house to vote for him over Rick or Dee Valladares, especially since he insists on loyalty to them despite the constant attempts to take him out. That said, half the battle of making it to the Final Two is getting there, and he's doing a good job of keeping his hopes alive.

Melody Seems Worried About Being Evicted, But The Pharaoh's Curse Is Still In Play

Melody Morris has spent Saturday evening and Sunday in low spirits, presumably because she knows everyone will vote her out to separate the obvious duo of her and Drew. If it's up to Dee and Devens, she'll head to the jury house by the time that Sunday is done.

Of course, Big Brother fans don't know yet if it's up to Dee and Devens, and neither do the Houseguests. Drew and Dee mentioned they felt "something weird is going to happen," which seemingly confirmed they don't know what the Pharaoh's Curse will do just yet.

There's been a lot of theories online, because all we know so far is that Devens activated the curse, and he's won $10,000. There has to be some downside to this latest twist. Otherwise, it's getting added to the list of worst twists ever.

I saw a theory that whoever is evicted this week will get a chance to return to the game, and that the cursed Houseguest will compete against them, with the winner staying in the house. I'd be on board with that as an appropriate consequence for the button, though overall, I think it's wild that the show is doing a twist this big this late in the game. People who want to win Big Brother can't really predict something as random as this happening, so I can't say I like this randomness.

Fingers crossed we get some answers on the Pharaoh's curse in the upcoming episode of Big Brother, which will air on CBS. So much is unknown right now that I'm just desperate for some answers!

We’re down to the final five players on Big Brother, and of course, every houseguest is scheming. First and foremost, they’re trying to figure out how to survive and get to the end, but at the same time, they’re also trying to do the math in their heads and figure out who the biggest threats with the jury might be. Which players do they want to sit next to and which players do they absolutely not want to sit next to?

Predicting who individual jury members are going to vote for on Big Brother is always an inexact science, but it’s particularly complicated this year because there’s one houseguest people are all over the board on. Both fans and players in the game seem to have no idea whether Taylor Brown is a goat that’s unlikely to beat anyone at the end or maybe the biggest jury threat left in the game. Opinions are all over the board, and if you think about her case hard enough, it’s easy to see why so many are coming to different conclusions. Let’s talk it out.

Is Taylor an expert level social player or a passive player who spends too much time in bed? Well, the answer is probably both. There are a lot of videos of her sleeping or spending time by herself in her pod. Zingbot roasted her for it, and other players in the game have commented on it. I’ve even seen some fans question whether she’s violating Big Brother’s rules by spending so much time in bed. She clearly needs alone time, and as an introvert who enjoys sleeping, I totally understand, even if it’s not, in theory, the best game move.

At the same time, however, there are also videos all over the internet of her bonding and having fun with every single other houseguest. Every person in the house seems to like her on a genuine human level. She’s close enough with Devens where they had a whole conversation just exchanging looks about Drew and Melody’s nonsense. She’s had conversations about a Final 2 with Dee. There’s even a video of her and Drew, who she’s roasted in numerous confessionals, doing dishes together and talking about how much they like each other when they’re not mad at each other. She’s just got a way of communicating that’s really fun and endearing. She’s the type of person people are going to want to vote for.

But did she really do enough in the game to warrant votes? Well, that all depends on how you look at gameplay. She’s never been HOH or won Blockbuster. She’s only grabbed a single veto, but there are other ways to have an impact on the game. She’s gone on the Block five times and somehow only received a total of five votes, thanks largely to her strong relationships and campaigning for herself. She also had a big say in LaTrice and Yash’s HOH weeks and was intimately involved in their plans and schemes.

Ordinarily, someone going up on the block so many times without serious consideration to be voted out would be considered a pawn, but she’s never really come across that way. She shares her opinion, is involved in alliances and has cast some huge deciding votes. Because of producer-given powers, HOH failures and other circumstances, the game just hasn’t quite broken her way, but it’s never been because she’s accepted defeat or seemed content to float with the current. Besides, there are still a few big moves to be made that would allow her to add to her resume.

So who might vote for her at the end? Well, that’s the part that’s hard to figure out. Most fans and players in the game expect her ride or die LaTrice to vote for her. The two were extremely loyal to each other during the game, and it would be a big surprise if she didn’t vote for Taylor to win at the end.

After LaTrice, however, everyone’s reads of who might vote for Taylor are quite different. She was also very close to Yash during the game, and when he went out, they were quite clearly each other’s closest allies. He’s been very complimentary of her during his exit press, but he’s also a gamer who seems like the type of person who would vote for whoever he thinks played the strongest game. He’s been very complimentary of Devens and Dee, as well. So, he’ll almost certainly ride with her against Drew or Melody, but who knows how he might vote if she was against one of the icons.

Barrett is also a very interesting case. Both he and Melody (who is still in the game but could end up in jury) have been very vocal the past few weeks about wanting to get the icons out in order to give the season to the newbies. Does that mean they would vote for Taylor over one of the icons at the end of the game? It’s very possible they would, which would be enough votes for her to get over the finish line against either Dee or Devens. It’s also possible both of them would vote for her over Drew, given how critical they’ve been of his game in confessionals.

Taylor still has some work to get to the end of the game and if she does, it’s going to be interesting to see what happens. I think every single possible scenario for her is in play. It’s possible, with even a halfway decent performance in front of the jury at the end, she could get four votes and beat literally anyone left in the game. Then again, it’s also possible that she could end up losing a final vote to anyone else left in the game.

Maybe the icons each beat her six to one. Maybe Barrett and either Drew or Melody, depending on who is left in the game, stick with whichever member of FAP makes it to the finals, and they join forces with the icons to vote against Taylor and she loses to them too? I have no idea what’s going to happen, and that makes it really exciting.

The double-eviction was a wild time in the Big Brother house, but it seems as though the chaos won't end there. As Yash Patel and Barrett Pfeiffer made their way out the door, it appears another Houseguest isn't far behind as the CBS series is trying to make sure it stays on track for the end of its run on the 2026 TV schedule.

Apparently, the only way for that to happen was to tempt the Houseguests with a mysterious button. Those watching Big Brother online learned that once the button was pressed, a pharaoh's curse fell upon the house. It activated what sounded like an abbreviated HOH week, and we even got to see some of the HOH competition!

What The Pharaoh's Curse Entails

Based on what we know so far, the Pharaoh's Curse was only activated once a Houseguest pressed the button, which was in the bathroom area. We've since confirmed that Rick Devens pushed the button, which activated a competition hosted by none other than Big Brother 27 runner-up Vince Panaro. Devens ended up pocketing $10,000 in the competition and seemed to have no regrets about what he did even if it could impact him winning BB.

Another side effect of this curse is that one Houseguest will be eliminated before the next eviction. That said, it appears this is playing out similarly to an abbreviated HOH week. Someone will be sent to jury before next Thursday's episode, but who?

The Feeds Cut In The Middle Of An HOH Comp, But Devens Appeared To Be Winning

It doesn't seem like anyone in the Big Brother house slept last night, as the feeds returned to show the Houseguests in the midst of an HOH competition in the early hours of the morning. It was the "tiny" competition in which Houseguests had to construct a puzzle in a diorama using a big set of tweezers.

The feeds cut before we could see who won, but Devens was in the lead. Assuming his puzzle didn't collapse, he would be the HOH. For the record, we don't know with 100% certainty that this was an HOH competition, but the fact that Melody Morris wasn't competing hinted that it was.

There's just so much that we don't know that it's hard to speculate on what's coming next. Assuming this was a traditional HOH, I would think that Devens would nominate Melody and Taylor Brown and hope that one of them leaves. Presumably, he'd want Melody gone to further weaken Drew Campbell. Is this how this week will go?

Another possibility is that this will be an elimination-style situation, similar to when Haley Thogmartin was eliminated. If so, this could be a situation where we see someone sent out controversially, and if it's one of the Icons, I'm sure some fans will raise hell. I know some are skeptical that Big Brother would do something like that so close to the finale, but I say, always "expect the unexpected."

Big Brother continues with new episodes on CBS on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Meanwhile, the finale is just around the corner, and we're that much closer to learning who wins that grand prize money.

By all accounts, Drew from Big Brother seems like a pretty nice guy. He gets along with everyone in the Season 28 house –except Yash, but that’s a complicated story – and has been able to play the middle for the majority of the show’s run on the 2026 TV schedule. It’s a skill, for sure, and it’s made Drew a memorable TV personality, but I really kind of hate watching him because I feel like I know exactly how he’ll handle every situation before it plays out. So, when I found out he had another TV show in the pipeline, my immediate reaction was: “Can I even dive into this?” There’s one hook that’s reeling me in, however.

OK I May Check Drew Out On His Other Show, Despite Being A Hater

Despite Big Brother disqualifying some people in the past for appearing on reality shows while the CBS series is airing, Drew Campbell will be on a Netflix series that premieres on September 23. The premise somehow makes Big Brother’s oddball challenges look tame, as it’s called Wonka’s The Golden Ticket, and will feature groups competing to “survive” the Wonka factory.

Listen, I know Drew is pretty popular with viewers. I see comments online and know his Time Capsule rankings etc. I also can see why people think he’s good TV, and he's competed decently well with his in-the-middle strategy. But I hate all his flirting with Melody. I hate his hair obsession. I disliked his HOH, and again I feel like I know where he's going at any given moment. I’m no Big Brother expert, but I just dislike his gameplay choices, even when he is sometimes fun to watch, like when he kept being athletic-as-heck in the recent water challenge but still couldn’t manage to land any water in his cowboy hat.

As a sidebar, I also think it’s telling that my favorite villain moment this season so far was when Taylor stole Drew’s hairbrush.

However, having said all of this, there is one thing reeling me in. After watching a mopey-eyed drew try to get in good with Melody all season long on Big Brother, Wonka’s The Golden Ticket showrunner told EW the man will be competing with his ex-girlfriend Vanessa on the series. The pair are allegedly only seen “briefly” as they don’t land “the golden ticket." Beyond the fact I would not be committing to other episodes, I wonder what Drew is like with a real-life girlfriend. I want to see what he’s like when he’s not up to shenanigans in the pool with Melody. “I want it now!”

Plus, what’s the worst that could happen given we only see Drew in the series briefly? I waste like an hour of my life? Fine.

Drew's Still In The Game On Big Brother... For Now

Despite the veto situation this week, with the double eliminations looming, our own Mick Joest thinks Drew’s game is not long for this world. We’ll have to wait and see, but it’s doubtless good news for all you stans that Drew will be showing up on the Netflix schedule in the near future.

Even if he does exit the TV soundstage to talk to Julie Chen Moonves, if you like the man, you’ll probably see him again at some point. He’s already competed on Beast Games and Let’s Make A Deal so he’s not shy about trying to get his face (and his mop of hair) out there. Given others don't seem to hate on Drew as much as I do, there could be plenty more reality opportunities in his future.

We're in the back half of the season so, understandably, watching Big Brother online isn't as entertaining as it was in previous weeks. That said, with Yash Patel winning HOH and then Drew Campbell winning the veto, there's a lot that could happen that impacts who wins this game. And yet the Houseguests are just sitting back and doing nothing.

It's boring to watch, and frankly, it's making me mad the more days pass, and all I see is Houseguests sitting around and waiting for the BB Blockbuster. Now is not the time to sit back and do nothing and, at the very least, the nominees should be making cases for why they should stay.

The Nominees Should Be Campaigning More On Big Brother 28's Most Pivotal Week

As it stands, the house is leaning toward evicting Barrett Pfeiffer if he's still on the block after the BB Blockbuster and, if not, it would seem like Melody Morris will go to the jury house over Taylor Brown. Even if Barrett and Drew voted to evict Taylor, Dee Valladares and Rick Devens casting a vote against Mallory would force Yash to break a tie, and he'd protect Taylor.

That's just my opinion on how everything will shake out, and it's because literally no one in danger this week is making a case for it to go any other way. Barrett has not tried to pitch any safety strategy for the chance that he does end up losing the BB Blockbuster, nor has Melody attempted to talk to the Icons and see if she could steal a vote of support from either of them. I can't really knock on Taylor for not doing anything, because the current situation favors her.

Granted, Houseguests often don't get serious about their pitches to stay until Wednesday evening. It's possible Barrett is saving his strength for his big pitch then, but I don't have hope for Melody. Even when she knew her bestie Mallory Aurichio was on the block, she did nothing but complain. I'm not expecting a big campaign from her one way or another.

Even If It Seems Unlikely You'll Sway Voters, At Least Try!

It's annoying to watch a Houseguest refuse to even campaign because they know the "logical" move is to vote against them. That didn't stop Dee from pitching her safety plan to Yash the previous week and, much to the dismay of many past players, she ended up staying.

People who win Big Brother, or make winning moves, know how to disrupt the house narrative. Sure, winning the BB Blockbuster is the best option for Barrett, but that doesn't mean he should try to pitch a way to convince Dee and Devens to keep him over Melody and Taylor.

After all, they want to get Yash out in the double-eviction, and need all the help they can get making that happen. If they're still against Barrett and Drew, both of them could foil those plans if they're still around. A promise to get Yash out in the event of a double eviction would go a long way to keeping him if he doesn't win the BB Blockbuster.

As for Melody and Taylor, the time is now if they want to start building their resume for why they deserve to win. Based on comments made by Houseguests so far this season, it seems like comp wins and game moves are going to heavily weigh on their votes on who deserves to win. Can either claim they've impacted the game in a major way compared to other Houseguests? I don't think so.

We'll see if the nominees have any pitches to make as Big Brother continues on CBS on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. This double-eviction is going to do a lot to decide who has the best path to victory, so I can't wait to see how it plays out.

Angela Murray was not the Houseguest anyone expected when rumors first started that former players would return to Big Brother. While she made headlines for her big fights in Season 26, she didn't really approach the game with a solid strategy or possess any of the skills it took to win BB. Season 28 was a chance for her to redeem herself, and Angela confirmed to CinemaBlend that she prepared for that.

I had the opportunity to send questions out to Angela before she entered the jury house and ask her about some of the moments we saw this season. Those watching Big Brother online and on CBS saw a slightly more composed version of the Utah native, though I wondered if that was intentional on her part or the fact that she was largely shielded by the other Icons for most of the run. I had to ask Angela if she consciously worked on anything once she found out she'd play again, and she talked about the pep talk she gave herself ahead of entering:

To her credit, Angela did a better job of worrying less about what people were saying about her. I would say she diverted that into worrying about what others were saying about the Icons, which was the alliance she shared with Survivor players Rick Devens and Dee Valladares. Of course, the classic Angela still came through, as evidenced by her wild relationship with Haley Thogmartin.

She had her slip-ups but, for the most part, Angela was able to lay low in Big Brother Season 28. She wasn't in any real danger of eviction until Barrett Pfeiffer's HOH week. Even then, she had a great chance of staying had it not been for a last-minute game move from Dee and Devens, and that's a credit to her for trying not to put a spotlight on herself:

I think there's a case to be made that Angela essentially played a "floater game" but, to her credit, that was always going to be the best strategy she had at winning Big Brother. Even if you're not winning competitions or making big moves, avoiding eviction can be enough to win the game if you're a returning Houseguest.

Now, she's in the jury house and will likely be rooting for any of the remaining Icons to win it all. Dee and Devens are in a good position as it stands, but these last few weeks are always key when it comes to winning competitions. With some of the winningest competitors still in the game, it'll be a tall order for both Dee and Devens to make it to the Final 2, but they'll give it all they've got!

Yash Patel's unexpected HOH win set the stage for an interesting week in Big Brother, as Dee Valladares and Rick Devens joined up with him and Taylor Brown to take on the remaining Houseguests. Patel honored their wish to put Barrett Pfeiffer, Drew Campbell, and Melody Morris on the block, but it seems the alliance could end there.

Those watching Big Brother online on Saturday night witnessed the return of the Pressure Cooker competition, albeit the variant version involving sticks that we saw in Season 26. It took all competing Houseguests to their limit and ended with an unlikely alliance that could make a run to the Final 2.

Drew Won The Week 10 Veto

Drew won the Pressure Cooker competition after nearly thirteen hours with him, Barrett, and Yash in it at the end. It was a clutch win for him, as he was almost assuredly going home this week if he didn't win this competition or the BB Blockbuster. Granted, his win wasn't as epic as Lala Verrett's, as he had to work out a deal to ensure his safety this week.

Yash And Drew Made A Secret Deal To Help Protect Each Other

Once it was just Yash and Drew left in the room, the two got to talking. They admitted they had been targeting each other a lot throughout the game but that up to that point, it didn't benefit either of them to get one another out. Instead, they reasoned that they should quietly strike a deal in which they would both have a relatively good chance at safety next week. That is, of course, if they can help it.

Yash agreed to throw the veto to Drew on the condition that if he wins HOH next, he does not put him on the block. Additionally, he agreed not to vote out Taylor this week, as she'll be the renomination choice when he pulls himself down from the block. On top of that, Yash said Drew could not tell anyone about this deal and that they shouldn't interact too much for the rest of the week.

Big Brother live feed viewers were skeptical of whether this was wise of Yash, but I think there are a few details to consider. The first being that Yash has been sick for days, and he even collapsed on the floor of the HOH room shortly after this competition ended. There was a good chance he was losing to Drew anyway, so at least he possibly got something out of it.

Also, it seems clear that Drew legitimately intends to honor this deal and said as much privately to the cameras on Sunday morning. He knows there's no going back with Dee and Devens, and he's hoping he can get them out before focusing his attention on Yash, Barrett or anyone else.

Ultimately, both men realize they need to win out if they want to make it to the end and, with this double-eviction coming, the viability of that strategy is well within reach. Drew and Yash seem committed to that and are willing to battle it out. Now, we just have to see if this agreement stands, and if they can both find their way in front of the jury for that grand prize money.

If you’ve been watching the live feeds, the latest Big Brother spoilers have had two icons making secret BTS deals and Yash showing his potential strategy to get to endgame. As interesting as these gameplay moments are, I like it more when we see BB birthday celebrations or even Devens dancing in the rain (which is a real thing that happened recently). Yet my favorite moment is one fans have been obsessed with over the last couple of weeks of Taylor doing an epic hair flip while tying up her hair.

Now, hear me out. Taylor Brown tied up her hair with her own hair, and it was a really fun moment that ran around mostly because of how cool she looked doing it. So cool, in fact, that Kamu (who's had a lot of thoughts after his exit) even reposted the video from the live feeds.

The viral clip has been shared in a lot of places, so it’s clear a lot of people are loving it. However, one faction of fans is acting like this moment is no big deal in the comments and shouldn’t have gone viral given it’s a common enough hairstyle.

• "Fav thing to do. You gotta know which pieces to use so it doesn’t hurt 😂"
• "Lmao y'all they know this ain’t brand new it just that once sista put her hair she continue to serve face with her shades on damn😂"

However, I’ve personally never watched anyone do this in live time before, and it’s really the casual hair flip and how good her hair looks when she’s done that make the moment so fun. Plus, the girl’s got shades on. You know if most of us tried to flip our heads with sunglasses on that would not end up working out.

To be clear, this is the girl who has been all over personal hygiene all season, so you know when it comes to looks Taylor is going to show up. Basically, I’m aligned with the commenter who said this:

Meanwhile, this isn’t the first time Taylor’s hair has been a big topic of conversation as part of the Big Brother 28 cast. She’s mentioned to Dee and Melody on the live feeds she’s been wanting to take her braids out, but it seems isn’t able to for production purposes, which has sparked a big debate. Melody reportedly mentioned Taylor had probably “signed something” that would mean she can’t change her hair during the course of her show, but some fans have commented they feel the series is being petty for not letting her take out heavy braids.

It’s an interesting debate. It was Taylor Brown’s choice to enter the house with her current hairstyle, and doubtless CBS wants her to keep the same look so they can choose what edits of Taylor to use without giving away when those moments happened thanks to a hair change. But also, should a girl have to suffer? Plus, Yash, for example, cuts Devens’ hair every week. It’s a tough one for sure.

At least I can say with full certainty that Taylor’s hair looks great, even if she's over it. If she looks at it another way, maybe it's a good thing she hasn't cut it, yet. There's only 20 days left until the Big Brother 28 finale (we already have some Week 10 spoilers), and Taylor still rocking the hair at this point means she's also still fully in the game.

We’ve had some blindsides and some questionable group decisions so far on Big Brother 28, but nothing has even come close to producing the level of reaction we got after last night’s vote. Survivor winner Dee Valladares, who was widely considered a dead woman walking if she ended up on the block next to Angela, somehow survived the vote thanks to a frantic few days of campaigning. Many fans hit up social media to express shock at Taylor and Yash’s decision to keep her, as well as admiration for the skills she showed to pull it off. In addition, we also heard from many legends of the show, and let’s just say they did not hold their opinions back.

The response from the Big Brother alumni community was one of collective shock. I saw dozens of popular former players hit up social media and overwhelmingly express confusion over Yash and Taylor’s choice to keep Dee. From their perspective, Dee is a significantly bigger threat than Angela to actually win the game, and with only eight people left in the season, most could not believe they wouldn’t take the chance to knock her out. Here’s a take from Dan Gheesling, widely considered the best Big Brother player in history, as an example…

Gheesling explored his thoughts in several tweets and even a video. He clearly felt like it was a bad and potentially game-losing decision for Yash, and that was a recurring refrain from other players. Janelle Pierzina, widely considered the best player never to win Big Brother, hit up X and echoed his sentiments. She ripped the other players in a series of messages and even came out and said everyone other than Dee and Devens deserves to lose the game at this point…

Seriously, if you made a list of the most notable Big Brother players in history, you would likely find a majority of them hit up social media to either praise Dee and her partner in crime Rick Devens, who won the Blockbuster, or call out the other players for their poor decision-making. It was just one after another after another, all making their feelings known.

Danielle Reyes accused the newbies of being in a “medically induced coma.” Derrick Levasseur dropped the Justin Timberlake gif with the are-you-kidding-me face. Morgan Pope said she was “in shock” and that this was huge for Dee’s resume. Josh Martinez dropped a Photoshopped image of Dee telling the haters to “STFU.” Cody Calafiore said the decision was all capital letters “WILD.” Evel Dick called it the most “idiotic move” in the last decade.

It wasn’t just legends either. A ton of random former Big Brother players and reality stars from other shows also hit up social media to talk about what happened. We got bigger and lesser names from Survivor, The Challenge, Traitors, and so many more. As a big fan of reality competition shows, it was fun to see everyone together and to see how many of us there are who are perhaps too emotionally invested in this drama.

There are now seven players left in the game. Yash and Taylor ultimately decided to keep Dee because they felt she will be a number for them moving forward and they can simply get her out later. Maybe that’s the case and this move, despite its unpopularity, will be looked back on as the key decision that won Yash the game. That’s certainly possible, because he’s the best player at the comps left and likely has plenty of win equity with the jury.

That being said, it’s also entirely possible that this vote goes down as the decision that unintentionally won Dee (or Devens) the game. Add together her fantastic usage of her Bribe power earlier in the season, which was originally seen as useless, and how she saved herself from certain death this week and suddenly she has a resume that rivals the top players on the board.

Dee Valladares had a plan to protect herself during Barrett Pfeiffer's Head of Household week, and it worked like a charm. Rick Devens won the BB Blockbuster, and now the duo is aligned with Yash Patel and Taylor Brown and ready to take on all the people who wanted them gone the week before.

Success still hinged on a Head of Household competition, however, and for those who weren't watching Big Brother online last night, I can report it couldn't have gone any better for the Icons. Here's what went down, and why there's a good chance we could see at least one Survivor player make it to the end.

Yash Won The Week 10 HOH

Thanks to the live feeds, we know Yash is a lock for HOH this week. His reputation as the winningest player in the house is alive and well in Big Brother Season 28, as he continues to crush the rest of the house in competitions when it matters. Of course, we all know he can't put up the Icons because of the BB Bribe, and if he wants to attempt to keep Taylor Brown as safe as possible, then he has to put up Barrett, Drew Campbell, and Melody Morris and hope none of them win the veto.

The Icons Have Their Best Chance At Revenge On Drew And Barrett, And That's Not All

I predict this week of Big Brother is going to be a Cold War of sorts between Dee and Devens. I think that, despite her bravado in the previous week, she would rather have Barrett in the house after this week, and Devens would sooner stick with Drew. I don't think anyone is worried about Melody staying this week, especially since she has yet to win any competition in Big Brother and has basically been a non-factor number all season.

That aside, they also caught a huge break this week as Yash winning means he won't be eligible to compete for the double-eviction HOH. If the Icons are smart, they'll immediately try to flip on him and convince whomever stays to throw him on the block.

I know a lot of people are shaking their heads that Yash and Taylor saved Dee over Angela, but I stand by this being the best play for that duo. There was no world in which Angela and Devens would fully align, and we could've seen Devens buddy up with Melody/Drew/Barrett. Once Devens got off the block, grabbing Dee was the only correct move, if they were looking for a true numbers advantage over the other side of the house.

While winning the HOH wasn't ideal for Yash, I don't think his risk of going home in the double is any worse than it was previously. He still will need to win, and if Barrett or Drew end up leaving this week, I'd say the odds are better than not that he wins the veto if he goes up. After that, there's another HOH in which he's eligible, and he can take a proper shot at the Icons.

Will Big Brother Season 28 have a finale in which at least one Survivor player is in the Final Three? It's looking likely, but there's still a lot of game left to play. I think they might need Drew to stick around to make those numbers work, and it seems like he's in more danger than Barrett this week.

We'll see how the rest of the week plays out, as Big Brother heads into its final stretch. As Julie Chen Moonves said in the latest eviction episode, these next few weeks will be can't-miss television, so make sure to keep watching CBS!

While Big Brother has gotten better about representation in recent years, it still has a ways to go, particularly as it relates to featuring older houseguests. If we get more than two houseguests over the age of forty in a season, it feels like a win. As frustrating as that can be to think about, it's just as inspiring when we do see an older houseguest play the game and really show what they're made of. That's what Big Brother Season 28 cast member LaTrice Verrett did earlier in Season 28 when she won the Wall endurance competition. Lala turned 58 years old in the Big Brother house this summer, and her Wall victory makes her the oldest houseguest to accomplish this in the history of the show.

If you're unfamiliar, the "Wall competition" has Big Brother houseguests standing on a ledge, up against a wall, while holding onto something (a bar, handles, etc). The wall usually tips forward at times, and they're occasionally sprayed with liquid or slime. Whether they slip or are too tired to hang on, one by one, the contestants drop. The last person up on the wall wins. In Season 28, that was Lala. She outlasted houseguests who were younger than her, including an MMA fighter, and secured the Head of Household title for the week.

As a woman who's approaching my 50s, I really wanted to hear more of her thoughts about her accomplishment when we had the opportunity to submit questions following her eviction last week. Like her performance in the Wall Competition, her response on the topic didn't disappoint.

As Lala noted, she came into the game wanting to play the Wall competition, and even now, she gets emotional talking about winning it:

That in itself is inspiring to hear, but what really got me was what Lala said about those final seconds that secured her the win:

If you watched the competition, you saw the moments she's referring to. It seemed like Lala and Kamu had struck a deal for him to win, and it was just a matter of Lala dropping. However, she held on, and as she pointed out to us, she was counting internally, just trying to stay up for a little bit longer. It was in those seconds that Kamu lost his footing and fell. Lala wrapped up her experience with these inspiring words:

I love this so much, and I'm going to do my absolute best to remember Lala's words and what she showed us on the wall during this Big Brother season.

I'm not entirely of the mindset that "age is just a number." Our age is a mark of the years we've lived, and I think there's too much value in that to dismiss it entirely, even with good intentions. Maybe not all of us can or will be as fit as Lala is at 58, but we work for and with what we've got. The message of pushing ourselves a little bit more can apply to anyone, regardless, and I really want to remember what she said the next time I need that advice.

I also really hope Lala's performance this season inspires Big Brother to consider including more over-40s (and over-50s!) in a future Big Brother season.

If you spend time watching the live feeds on Big Brother, you start to notice certain little quirks and mannerisms each of the houseguests have. Some people are fidgety. Some people repeat the same stories over and over again. Survivor fan favorite turned breakout Big Brother star Rick Devens? Well, he twiddles his mustache like a cartoon supervillain.

Fans have noticed his tendency to do it, especially when he’s nervous or seemingly scheming, and hilariously, so has his mother-in-law Debbie. Everyone else might find it mildly annoying, but she is over it. She took to social media earlier this week to hilariously complain about how often he’s doing it. Here’s what she said…

This post would come across as perhaps a little petty if a random fan was this worked up about it, but from a close family member, it’s just straight up hilarious, especially because you can tell it’s coming from a loving place. She’s been rooting hard for Rick on social all season and that gives her the right to make the occasional crack about his mustache or the questionable haircuts Yash has been giving him.

Her daughter/ Rick’s wife clearly approves too. Becca Devens has been interacting with fans all season, and in this instance, she interacted with her mother-in-law to drop a zinger on her own husband. She replied to Debbie’s comment on X with an explanation of why he doesn’t twiddle his mustache nearly as much at home.

One of the best parts of Big Brother is, without question, the real time aspect. It’s a lot of fun to see houseguests interact with each other and play the game without any concept of what the outside world is thinking. It’s also a lot of fun to see their family members talk about life without them and root for their loved ones from afar. Both Becca and Debbie have been fantastic follows this season.

I’d like to see them root for Devens a little bit longer, but for the second week in a row, the icon’s fate inside the house is a little dicey. He likely would have gone home last week, had he not pulled off an epic Blockbuster comebacker, and now, heading into today’s live eviction vote, he’s sitting on the Block again next to his two closest allies Dee and Angela. He’s in rough shape on paper, but given how many times we’ve seen him escape what seemed like certain death on Survivor, maybe he’ll figure out how to survive.

The Icons gave Barrett Pfeiffer his worst week of Big Brother yet, as the veto solidified that one of them will head to jury on his Head of Household week. I think it goes without saying he has small odds of escaping the nomination block this coming week, but I also think Drew Campbell is clearly in more danger.

It may not seem like it to those just watching episodes, but I'm watching Big Brother online, and I see a different story forming. Sure, this big move was always going to be a risk, but I feel bullish that Barrett can escape next week unscathed thanks to his biggest ally's reputation in the game.

The Icons Want Revenge On Barrett, But Drew Has More Enemies

Barrett took out an Icon this week, and while Angela Murray, Dee Valladares, and Rick Devens are coming for his neck, that has to count for something among the remaining Houseguests. I don't believe Melody Morris would evict Barrett in most scenarios, and I feel the same is true with Yash Patel and Taylor Brown. At the end of the day, one of Barrett's biggest enemies is leaving, and with the Icons' influence dwindling, I don't see them getting revenge even if Dee won HOH herself.

Drew, on the other hand, has Dee coming after him for the third time in this game, and now Yash wants him out after the youngest Houseguest repeatedly called him a liar. As for Taylor, she's never gotten along with Drew from the start, and the same is largely true for Angela. Devens could always mend the fence with Drew, but with him likely leaving after Dee's plan, he may not get a chance to make amends.

Yash Gets All The Hype, But Barrett Is A Sneaky Comp Beast

For the sake of argument, let's say that Barrett is the target, and he's put up alongside Melody and Drew. Yash has the reputation in the house of being the comp beast, but let's not forget that Barrett's also sneakily good at competitions himself.

His performance in BB Comics was admittedly poor; he threw an HOH to Dee that he could've easily won, was one step away from defeating Kamu Kirk in a key veto competition, and was in the mix in many other competitions. However, he's going to be a hard person to get out, especially if the BB Blockbuster is still in play.

I also don't see any Houseguest risking a backdoor option, with so few players left in the game. I think Angela and Dee would pitch a fit if they're put up as pawns, even if the goal is to attempt to backdoor Barrett. Plus, aligned or not, I think the last thing this house wants to do, Drew aside, is the Icons' bidding, and they'll find that out the hard way once this HOH comes.

The Icons were on the ropes during much of Barrett Pfeiffer's Head of Household reign, and once it was clear from the veto that one would be leaving, there was frustration amongst them. Now that they've had time to lick their wounds, however, two Icons made a big play that will ensure at least one of them survives this week of Big Brother over the others.

I recently wrote that I thought Yash Patel had the best chance of winning, and after watching Big Brother online last night, I'm even more sure of that. He and Taylor Brown made a deal with the Devil, so to speak, or maybe it's more appropriate to say the "Deevil."

Dee And Angela Proposed An Alliance With Taylor And Yash

With the house hellbent on getting out an Icon this week, it was bold of Dee Valladares to propose an alliance with Yash and Taylor, but she had what it took to sweeten the deal. Essentially, Dee wants to align with the duo and bring Angela Murray along for the ride, which gives them a numbers advantage over Barrett, Melody Morris, and Drew Campbell.

Basically, if Dee wins the BB Blockbuster, she'll vote with Yash and Taylor to evict Rick Devens, and Angela will do the same if Dee is on the block. Devens winning the Blockbuster kind of ruins this plan but, as it stands, they technically have better odds of pulling it off than not.

What Happens If Devens Wins The BB Blockbuster?

The ideal scenario for all parties in this is that Devens is up for eviction. In the case that he's not, however, and wins the Blockbuster, Dee has gotten assurance from Yash and Taylor they would save her over Angela. That also seems like it'd be the case with Devens, as he has a much better relationship with his Survivor buddy than he ever did with Angela.

Whether Devens would be as willing to work with Yash and Taylor and Dee over Barrett, Drew, and Melody is unclear. I think everyone understands at this stage that it's all about survival, and it's all going to come down to who wins the HOH this coming Thursday.

For now, it feels like Barrett is the popular eviction target for nearly everyone but Melody, and she hasn't won anything all season. That said, I can't imagine anyone would feel comfortable leaving both Dee and Devens in the game together, so I could see plans switching if that does end up happening. They both clearly want to win Big Brother and, so far, they're doing all the right things to make that happen.

Big Brother continues on CBS on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays but, with football returning, be on the lookout for timing changes for when to tune in. We'll see if this alliance holds throughout the week, or if Yash and Taylor learn the hard way why you don't align with Dee.

What a week it's been in Big Brother Season 28, as Barrett Pfeiffer finally got his wish of putting up the Icons when he won Head of Household. The veto results have cemented the fact that one Icon will head to the jury house on Thursday. And, as this war wages on, it may benefit Yash Patel the most.

Those watching Big Brother online over the holiday weekend heard about Yash's immediate plans for the in-game, and I think it's a game-winning strategy. Yash wants to win BB, and I think he's on the right path after vocalizing his plan for the next couple of weeks.

Yash Is Stepping Back And Letting The Icons And Other Newbies Duke It Out

The Icons are using Yash's bribe against him and, while he's lied to Barrett, Melody Morris and Drew Campbell about not being able to put all three Icons up, he's using it to his advantage. Yash explained to Taylor, who knew the truth of the deal, that he planned to sit back and let the Newbies and Icons fight, because it would only benefit him until the Icons were gone.

While it's true he could end up on the block at any time, Yash arguably has more protection these next couple of weeks than he would otherwise. The remaining Icons know he can't put them on the block if he wins HOH, so targeting him does not benefit their game until he does. Once he wins, however, they'll immediately campaign against him and try to get in with the remaining newbies to get him out.

Yash remains a big target in the house, but the Newbies have bigger fish to fry. Getting out who remains over Dee, Devens, and Angela will be the priority until at least next week, depending on how it goes. Truthfully, it would benefit Yash if Angela went home this week, though that feels unlikely.

Why Yash Could Totally Win Big Brother

With the BB Blockbuster still in play, and the remaining Houseguest count dwindling, the game only benefits Yash. Winning out is usually the toughest road for a Houseguest but, assuming he can last another week or two without a target on his back, it gets a lot easier.

In an ideal circumstance, an Icon wins this week, and then one of the two remaining wins the HOH. Drew and Barrett feel like obvious targets for the Icons after this week, but I guess I shouldn't deem that a certainty, considering how random the targets have been any time Dee Valladares wins HOH.

As always, I think winning Big Brother requires a bit of luck, and Yash will need to ensure there isn't a chance for him to get backdoored in the final month of the game. The double-eviction is going to be a big moment for him, as it's the easiest way to send a Houseguest packing.

Can Yash pull it off and win Big Brother? I would love to see it happen, but there are other worthy winners still in the game. The finale is set for Thursday, October 1st, but there's still a lot of game to play, so keep an eye out for every update!

Barrett Pfeiffer spent the last two weeks of Big Brother trying to betray The Crossovers, and it appears the third time was the charm. His Head of Household win allowed him to nominate all three Icons for eviction, but the veto opened the door to everything going wrong.

Those watching Big Brother online knew the Icons were hard at work trying to prepare for the immunity competition and finding others who would also play and take them down. They found a willing ally in Drew Campbell, who is still struggling to choose a side when others draw a clear line on where they stand.

Yash Won The Week 9 Veto

Yash Patel remains the most dominant competitor of the season, with yet another veto win. His win was a double-edged sword for many, as it's another big win to add to his resume, but it was also better than any Icon winning and taking themselves off the block. Additionally, Yash still has to honor his bribe with Dee, in which he can't nominate any Icon for his next HOH. Getting him out this week wouldn't have been a bad idea, but Barrett will likely be just as happy if he doesn't use the veto.

Whether Yash will use the veto is up in the air. He has a "ceasefire" with the newbies that includes a vow to get the Icons out. That can certainly benefit him in the short term, but leaving the Icons safe does offer him some protection. I'm leaning more toward him not using the veto this week, but if he did, I could see him taking Rick Devens off the block.

Drew Continues To Stay Firmly In The Middle Of The Warring Alliances

Drew was not picked for the veto competition, which is good because he definitely would've used it to save an Icon if he had been. He remains Crossovers-loyal, despite insiting to Melody Morris and others that he's committed to getting all the Icons out and revitalizing the F.A.P. alliance.

It's exactly what Drew's done all season, and I think it's something that will continue as long as he's in the game. His shadiness has already almost gotten him evicted twice, and if Melody and Barrett have a hint that he's not loyal, I think that might be his final strike, and they'll send him packing.

If the veto is not used this week, it seems clear that either Dee Valladares or Devens is leaving this week. The house generally sees the Survivor vets as bigger threats than Angela Murray, who hasn't done much more this season than stir the pot. Devens and Dee, conversely, have made many of the moves one must make to win Big Brother, so I don't think anyone will balk at sending them to the jury house.

This was finally going to be the week. After more than a month of the Big Brother houseguests conspiring and trying to put together a plan to eliminate one of the icons, this was going to be the week where one of them finally went home. Except, of course, the big move we’ve all been waiting for didn’t happen because Survivor legend Rick Devens won the BB Blockbuster. He’s still in the house, and no one is angrier about it than eliminated fan favorite Mallory Aurichio.

Last night, many fans and former Big Brother alumni got together to watch the live eviction episode, and videos from the event are starting to emerge. The best one is an extended shot of Mallory watching the Blockbuster. She’s clearly rooting hard for Taylor, and when Devens wins, well, her face says it all. You can watch how big mad she is below…

Partially because of reactions like that, the Pipe Queen was a big fan favorite during her time in the Big Brother house. She was the first non-icon voted by fans to enter the Time Capsule, and many were rooting for her to figure out a path forward with the members of her FAP alliance, Melody, Barrett and Drew. Thanks in part to a lack of HOH wins and the conflicted loyalties of Barrett and Drew who are also aligned with the icons, the likeable foursome wasn’t able to really get anything done.

Something shifted in Barrett, however, when Mallory was voted out last week. He’s now on a mission to get one of the icons out, seemingly as revenge, and last night was poised to be the moment where he finally turned on them to eliminate Devens. I’m sure Mallory was eagerly awaiting the turn he promised in several confessionals and on the live feeds, but after the Survivor favorite won, it ended up being business as usual. Lala went home. Regardless of who went home, I bet that watch party was an absolute blast and not just because you can spot a bunch of Big Brother alumni in the video including Rachel Reilly, who has been vocally supportive of the icons. With all of our viewing habits becoming increasingly segmented, it can sometimes feel really isolating to enjoy shows like Big Brother. Sure, there’s a robust community on social media, but it’s not the same as connecting with people in person about it. Watch parties can be a great way to feel that bond and to be reminded that there are many people who are just as passionate as you are.

Big Brother will return this week with a brand new episode on Sunday on CBS and Paramount+. I’d say this will be the week where one of the newbies finally gets an icon out, but since we’ve all been saying that for the last month, maybe I’ll just wait and see what happens.

Rick Devens just barely escaped being evicted last week, and based on how this week of Big Brother is shaping up, he may be fighting for his life yet again. In fact, all the Icons are set to be in big trouble this week, and the crazy thing is, I don't think they even know it.

CinemaBlend was watching Big Brother online last night, and it looks like at least one Icon is going home this week. The big betrayal many have waited for has finally blown up, and we need to talk out what this means for the week.

Barrett Won The Week 9 HOH

Barrett threw a Head of Household to Dee Valladares a couple of weeks ago, and it resulted in him losing one of his closest allies. It seems he wasn't going to make that mistake again, and now he's running the week after two weeks of trying to flip the game on the Icons. He's finally in a position to make it happen, but will he pull the trigger? Will he risk his relationship with them and Drew to get some revenge?

Barrett Is Putting Up All Three Icons, And Aiming For A Big Target At All Costs

Trying to operate from the shadows didn't work, and it seems like Barrett is willing to stick his neck out this week to make his goal happen. All three Icons are going up on the block for eviction, and if one of them comes down, Yash is going up as the renomination choice.

Big Brother fans may wonder why he's not putting up Yash in the initial round, and then taking him down and putting up an Icon. This eliminates the possibility of the Icon who wasn't nominated winning the veto and then taking down another Icon with their win. After that, it wouldn't be all that hard to save the third Icon from the block, so putting up all three creates the best chance that at least one of them leaves this week.

Barrett is in a rough spot. He wants to win Big Brother, but staying loyal to the Icons almost assuredly means he loses to any of them in a Final Two situation. Taking them out and adding that to his resume will go a long way to help him, but it also puts a huge target on his back.

Truthfully, I think the only bad outcome for this week is Angela getting evicted. The best-case scenario is Dee or Devens going to the jury house, followed by Yash walking out the door as well. Any of those are going to do a lot to make a case for Barrett winning the game and take out someone who would likely beat him at the end as well.

If ever there was a weekend to be glued to the live feeds, this is it. Expect lots of drama with the Icons up for eviction, and maybe even some fights to break out between them. Those with Labor Day plans needn't fear; CinemaBlend will keep you abreast of all that goes down!

I'm not saying I'm grieving anything when I make this reference, but when I was thinking about how I feel about Big Brother's elimination twist this season, especially by comparison to last year, I realized that I've moved past the denial and anger after last season's Hamster Wheel of Death twist, and on to the bargaining stage of whatever this is. Big Brother seems to want to keep the elimination twist around, and if that's the case, there are a couple of ways they could improve it for die-hard fans like myself.

For the second season in a row, Big Brother has done a twist that resulted in a houseguest being eliminated from the game without going through the usual process of nomination, Veto competition, Blockbuster and vote. This time around, as the Medieval-themed twist played out, Haley was eliminated after Yash, the winner of the final competition in a series of games, voted her out over La Trice (Lala).

I'm still not a fan of mid-season eliminations like this (or any twist where a houseguest is eliminated without a proper vote), but if this twist is here to stay for the foreseeable future, here are two things I'd like to see changed:

Make The Actual Vote To Evict A House Vote

The fact that there was at least some kind of vote involved in Season 28's elimination twist is an improvement over Season 27, as was the fact that the elimination happened pre-jury this time. Still, I think it'd be better -- also closer to the core of the game -- if the twist ended with a house vote to determine which houseguest leaves.

To elaborate, using the format of this season's twist -- a series of competitions to earn safety and determine who competes next -- instead of ending the process with the winner of the final competition casting the sole vote among the two remaining houseguests, let all of the houseguests vote on which of the two remaining houseguests should go.

Last season, Rachel was eliminated after failing a competition. This season's twist was an improvement, in that there was an actual vote to determine someone's exit -- it's just that only one Houseguest got to vote. The impact any houseguest's exit has on the trajectory of the season is too great to be left in the hands of one person, in my opinion.

Put The Feeds On Inside The House During The Twist

The Big Brother live feeds went dark during the twist in Season 27 and were out even longer for Season 28 (they did end up coming back a day earlier than expected, but still...). I assume that Big Brother wanted to save the surprise of who was eliminated for the episode, but is that really absolutely necessary?

In the case of this season's twist, the Sunday episode left us on a cliffhanger anyway, which might be why the feeds came back early to begin with. However, even if they had gotten everything into Sunday's episode, shutting the feeds off for such a long time in the middle of the season really messes with the show's momentum, from my perspective as a feed-watcher.

It's one thing to turn the feeds off for a few hours while a competition or meeting/ceremony takes place (this happens weekly), but it's another to have such a major event take place and then keep the feeds off for days until the episode airs. Not only is it frustrating as a viewer, but it also seems like a wasted opportunity.

If the feeds were on inside the house, feed-watchers could stay up to see who returns after each round and watch the strategizing that takes place. With no feeds on in the yard, we'd still need to see the episode in order to know exactly how things played out in the contests, but in the meantime, this would allow us to participate in the twist the way we do endurance competitions. As it is right now, Big Brother is shutting us out of what could be the best part of the experience by turning the feeds off, and it's part of why I'm already dreading the twist's possible return next year.

Two seasons in a row isn't quite a pattern yet, but it is an indication that Big Brother may be trying to make this type of mid-season twist stick. If that's the case, I really hope they continue to make adjustments to improve it and make it something that feels true to the game that's being played and allows the dedicated viewers to watch at least part of it play out in real time.

Haley Thogmartin crossed paths with Angela Murray early in Big Brother Season 28, and she feared her game was over. The former Houseguest, who was eliminated after the recent 1000th episode twist, told CinemaBlend the exclusive story of her first encounter and how befriending the Icon wasn't what she expected.

While readers watch Big Brother online and eagerly await to see who wins that grand prize money, I asked Haley about her rollercoaster relationship with Angela that we've seen play out across the 2026 TV schedule. She admitted that she thought she was already in the veteran's line of fire upon their first interaction:

I told Haley that if Angela told me that in my first week in the Big Brother house, my heart would fall out of my chest. Making enemies isn't the best way to win Big Brother, and we saw Angela make enemies out of people who didn't even know they were feuding with her.

Haley knew that, so she went to work talking to her Red Corner allies. She admitted Angela had her shook, but eventually they turned that into a wonderful friendship:

Haley insists that, despite Angela's ongoing feud with former Houseguest Matt Hardeman after their blowout fight in Season 26, she's a great person. She and other Houseguests have pushed back against the narrative that the Big Brother player has a hair-trigger temper and is unpredictable.

The evicted Houseguest went on to say there's a lot of good in Angela, and hopefully, the people watching at home see that. While they've had an up-and-down relationship in Big Brother, Haley hopes for the best when it comes to her friend:

It might be worth noting that Big Brother Houseguests can often be perceived differently on their second go-around on the game, and Angela is no exception. In Season 26, she was put up for eviction frequently, and rarely had a solid alliance with anyone.

In Season 28, she's found a steady alliance with the Icons, who have remained on the right side of the vote every week thus far. Even now, with the possibility of an Icon about to go home for the first time, she's in a relatively safe position.

Will that be enough to win the second time around? Who knows, but there's no denying she's had a more peaceful time in the house than before. I also think she's in a position in which a lot of the other Houseguests may underestimate her, which could just give her the edge to end up winning this entire competition.

Houseguests on Big Brother fart. It happens and is rarely worth a tweet, let alone a news story, but now and again, one of them farts in such a hilarious or notable way that fans can’t help but talk about it. This is one of those instances because Drew let out what is probably the funniest fart in the history of the live feeds.

Let’s back up because this needs context to understand why Big Brother fans are sharing the video at the same rate they would an epic blindside or an unexpected kiss. Yesterday, all of the remaining houseguests decided to play a little prank on Drew. They all hid inside the shower in his HOH room.

Initially, the little scheme worked like a charm. He wandered around the entire house for like five minutes trying to find anyone else to talk to. Eventually, he went into the HOH room and didn’t notice everyone hiding in the shower. Unfortunately, since he thought he was alone, he decided to rip a really loud fart, which caused everyone in the shower to collectively lose it at the same time.

I have to imagine Big Brother is going to show the clip during tonight’s live eviction episode. They've shown plenty of farts before but regardless, you can check out the comedy gold in the video below…

Good on Drew for laughing this situation off. So many Big Brother fans are talking about how they would have to self-evict if that happened to them, but Drew just laughed along with everyone else and was a good sport about it. In a weird way, it’s a good example of why he’s been able to form pretty strong bonds with a ton of people in the house. He’s clearly a fun person to talk to and is a lot more relatable than what we often see on the show, which usually involves a mix of sassy comments to Julie, relentless hair combing, climaxless flirting with Melody and acquiescing to the icons.

Fart jokes aside, tonight’s Big Brother episode should be an absolute banger. Survivor legend Rick Devens is on the block for the first time after a questionable decision alongside Taylor and LaLa, and conversations on the live feeds have shown a ton of scheming going on. I won’t get into all of the specifics since there’s some potential spoilers for those not watching deep into the night, but if you want to get caught up, you can do so with Mick’s coverage here.

It's a bad week to watch Big Brother if you're a Rick Devens fan, as Drew Campbell's Head of Household has put the Survivor vet in real danger. He was already at risk of eviction with Barrett Pfeiffer's plan to turn on The Crossovers, and it's only getting worse. I've already written about how I thought Dee Valladares had lost her chance at winning the grand prize, and I don't think this latest plot will help her any more. She's planning yet another blindside, only this time, she has no idea that she's the one getting blindsided.

Dee Has Decided To Flip On Devens, Not Knowing That's Already Barrett's Plan

As has been the case with her almost every week in Big Brother Season 28, Dee has suddenly reversed course and decided that Devens should be the target this week. She told Angela Murray her grand plan on Tuesday night, and it would see them blindsiding Barrett and flipping the house against him.

The plan, essentially, is that Dee will change her vote against Devens and have Angela still vote to keep him. That way, they can vote out Devens and blindside the house, but the 4-2 vote will make it appear that she and Angela remained loyal to The Crossovers and keep his vote for the jury.

What Dee doesn't know is that Barrett already intends to flip and, should this plan go through and Devens goes up for eviction, it'll be 5-1. In this case, Devens may see it as Dee and Angela turning on him, and Barrett being the sole loyal vote.

Additionally, Dee will not only be blindsided by the vote but will likely have lied to Barrett and Drew the entire week about her and Angela's vote. If that's not going to sway Drew against staying Crossovers loyal, I'm not sure what will. It won't create a great position for any person who wants to win Big Brother but, again, I've long thought Dee sank her own ship on that front.

Will Angela Reveal The Plan Before The Blockbuster?

Angela is the x-factor to watch this week, as those watching Big Brother online know she hasn't been taking this proposed betrayal well. She was committed to the alliance being loyal and, now, this wrench in the chain, in which she's a vital vote on the wrong side, has her stressed.

Angela, historically, does not respond well to stressful situations in Big Brother, and there's a good chance she'll spiral and potentially reveal this plan to someone other than Dee before Thursday. If this plan reaches Devens and he ends up staying, what happens next? It's a whole new ballgame.

No matter what happens on Thursday, I think The Crossovers is done after this week. There's no way this messiness escapes and goes unspoken, and even if he doesn't know for certain, Rick definitely has a sense that he's in danger this week. If he survives the block, he's going to do whatever it takes to make sure he doesn't see it again.

We're in for an exciting final stretch of the game, as Big Brother continues on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays on CBS. I'm not sure who is going home on Thursday, but I can't wait to see the fallout!

Drew Campbell's HOH put him in a rough spot, with Yash Patel winning the veto and forcing him to put up someone he's working closely with. Fortunately, Rick Devens volunteered and saved him the awkwardness of deliberation about putting up Melody Morris or Barrett Pfeiffer. That said, there's a general unease amongst The Crossovers alliance, in which the Icons are concerned about where Barrett and Drew's loyalties lie.

Those watching Big Brother online have wondered the same, as both say different things depending on who they are talking to. That changed last night, I believe, after a telling conversation between Yash, Melody, and Barrett explained exactly where the newbies of The Crossovers stand with the rest of their alliance.

Barrett Confirmed He Plans To Flip On The Icons If Devens Loses The BB Blockbuster

While Dee Valladares and Devens made sure to stick by him for a good chunk of the day, we finally got to see Barrett open up about his plans once he was hanging out with Yash and Melody Morris. There, he made it clear he wants to work with them, and if the opportunity presents itself, get out Devens should he lose the BB Blockbuster.

Skeptics will point out that's exactly what Yash and Melody want to hear, and is once again a textbook case of him playing the middle. I would argue against that, mainly because we've seen a change in him since Mallory Aurichio's eviction that we hadn't seen previously. He's not feeding Dee intel like he used to, and while he plays cool in front of the Icons, it's clear he feels it's time to make a move against them.

Granted, this is all assuming that Devens doesn't win Blockbuster. If he does, I would fully expect Barrett to reverse course and remain Crossovers loyal unless he gets another opportunity to turn the tables. This all really hinges on Taylor Brown and Lala Verrett being able to beat out Rick, and if you enjoy entertaining live feeds and seeing the newbies make moves to win Big Brother, you'll be rooting for them on Thursday.

Melody And Barrett Believe Drew Is Still Crossovers Loyal, But Can Be Flipped

While Barrett sounds fully committed to joining a new majority alliance, both he and Melody are in agreement that Drew is decidedly Crossovers loyal. Barrett said he thinks that the current HOH believes that working with The Crossovers is his only path to victory, and Melody chimed in (via Big Brother Bitez on X):

One thing that Barrett, Melody, and Yash all agreed on, however, is that if they go through with the plan to evict Devens, they can pull Drew in. I tend to agree, because with Barrett betraying The Crossovers and Devens gone, he'd be forced to be loyal to Dee (whose nominated him for eviction twice) and Angela Murray.

Not only would he no longer be in a majority alliance, but he's with people who have some of the worst relationships with the remaining Houseguests. It only makes sense to jump ship at that point and steamroll remaining Icons if that's a possibility.

Even Dee has quietly admitted in her cam talks that it's the smart play with Devens gone, and is questioning why her biggest ally ever willingly agreed to go on the block. She's just crossing her fingers he can win the BB Blockbuster, and if not, hoping she can find an in elsewhere amongst the remaining Houseguests. I kind of think her game was sunk before this, but if Devens leaves, I don't see how Dee wins that prize money.

We're in for another exciting Big Brother episode on Thursday in which Barrett could effectively turn the tables on the Icons. Now all that's left to do is see if the pieces fall into place, or if Devens can save himself with a clutch win.

While the latest episode didn't fully resolve its twist, things are moving forward rather quickly in the Big Brother house. Drew Campbell won the Week 8 Head of Household competition, and with Yash Patel winning the veto and taking himself off the block, he's in a rough situation.

Drew must now either nominate Melody Morris or someone in The Crossovers alliance. He didn't want to tank his relationship with Melody any further, so Rick Devens volunteered to go up as the renomination choice. Unfortunately, there's been some tension in recent days, and it led to him making a threat to both Drew and Barrett Pfeiffer if they tried to target the icons.

The Icons Threatened To Poison The Jury If One Of Them Leaves This Week

Devens initially volunteered to go up on the block because he believed Angela Murray and Dee Valladares would go home if they were nominated instead, and he'd be safe due to his better relationships with other Houseguests. Even if that wasn't the case, he would, in theory, have the votes to stay provided Barrett voted with the alliance and protected him if he lost the BB Blockbuster.

After taking some time to think, Devens remembered that Dee sent home Mallory Aurichio and that Barrett may have an axe to grind against the Icons after that. He tried to take back going up, but Drew remained steadfast. Once all his tactics to get replaced didn't work, he relented. He said he'd go up, but made one thing clear to all members of The Crossovers (via @BBFeedsFairy on X):

He said it in jest in the moment, but continued to say it to Angela and Dee later on. All three committed to poisoning the jury against Drew and Barrett if they ended up betraying them, as a scare tactic to the two to stay loyal. I'm not sure it's going to work on either, especially since they can presumably still win a jury vote with all the other remaining Houseguests who would reward them for taking out Icons. Plus, Dee shouldn't support this idea, given she's someone who has made a game out of betraying her closest allies. I mean, doesn't she realize this would come back to bite her as well?

Drew Wants To Put Up Dee Over Devens

Drew didn't seem impacted by Devens threat, but he did have some late night talks with the camera questioning if putting him up was the right decision. After all, why should Devens need to go up during his HOH, when Dee was the one who has nominated him for eviction not once, but twice?

Drew added that not only has Dee not offered to go up as the renomination choice, but she's also barely spoken to him since he won HOH. That's pretty wild after the previous week they had, in which she directly accused him of being shady and trying to turn on them. If he and Barrett are going to try and flip on the Icons, then wouldn't it make more sense to send Dee out first?

I think that's a move someone who wants to win Big Brother will make, and to be clear, I do think Barrett and Drew are 100% planning to turn on the Icons. While those watching BB online may be confused when they see the pair talking about loyalty with the Icons, don't forget that this has been how they've played the game since the beginning.

If whichever Icon they put up wins Blockbuster, then Barrett and Drew can return to saying they've been nothing but loyal to The Crossovers and worthy of trust. There is no need to draw a line in the sand until it's clear the opportunity is there to send an icon out. Pay attention to what Drew and Barrett tell each other in private, and whether one tries to rat the other out.

If that doesn't happen, assume the Icons are in danger this week as Big Brother continues Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays on CBS. This could be a huge week for Drew and Barrett going forward, so I'm eager to see if they can pull it off.

Julie Chen Moonves announced during the 1000th episode that the live feeds would be down for 72 hours, but it seems someone amongst the higher-ups at Paramount and Big Brother reversed that decision. After some posts from the official account asking fans if they wanted the feeds back early, they returned on Saturday evening, and we got to catch up on everything that went down since Mallory Aurichio was evicted.

For those not watching Big Brother online, there's a lot to catch up on. A Houseguest has been eliminated, there's a new HOH, and a new veto member. Here's everything those who want to be 100% up to speed need to know as we roll into yet another eviction.

Haley Was Eliminated In The Twist

The Houseguests competed in an elimination-style twist, which transported them back to the Middle Ages. In the end, Haley Thogmartin was eliminated and was not present on the live feeds when they returned. Additionally, press was notified they'll be speaking to Haley on Monday after Sunday's Big Brother episode. It's safe to say she will not get a chance to return and is not part of the Jury House.

Drew Won The Week 8 HOH

The twist concluded at some point on Friday morning, and the Houseguests were able to squeeze in a Head of Household competition for Week 8 sometime after. Drew Campbell is now running the game, which sets the stage to see where his true allegiance lies following Barrett Pfeiffer's attempt to flip on the icons. To start, Drew remained Crossovers strong and put up Yash Patel, Lala Verrett, and Taylor Brown up on the block.

Yash Won The Week 8 Veto

Yash continues to be the comp beast of Big Brother Season 28, and likely saved himself from eviction this week if Drew was planning to stick to the plans The Crossovers laid out. In fairness, he'd have no reason not to, as getting out the best competitor we've seen this season would be a move you could add to your resume as a way to win Big Brother.

In any case, Yash is no longer an option and will likely remove himself from the block with the veto win. I say "likely" because he reportedly put his own game on the line to save Taylor during the elimination twist unnecessarily, so he could pull something wild again in an attempt to win the BB Blockbuster and save as many allies as possible.

Drew Has To Nominate A Member Of The Crossovers Or Melody

Yash winning the veto put Drew in a tough situation, and one in which he is, once again, the person who could turn this all around on the Icons. He now has to name a new nominee, and the only people left are members of The Crossovers, or Melody Morris.

As of Sunday afternoon, Drew seems pretty decidedly on board with putting Rick Devens up on the block. This is mostly because Rick volunteered originally, believing that if Dee Valladares and Angela Murray went up, they would go home. Rick has a better social standing amongst the house, so maybe he believes that will protect him.

Unfortunately for Rick, and for Survivor fans rooting for him, Barrett has already signaled to Drew that he wants to take another shot at the Icons. Drew seems largely on board, and when Devens came up to him on Sunday more or less asking him to put up Melody instead, Drew refused. To me, it sounds like if Rick goes up and doesn't win the BB Blockbuster, he's likely going home this week after Melody, Barrett, and Yash vote him out. We'll need Lala to bust out that power she summoned to win that HOH again if we want to see the Icons rattled!

Those tuning in for Sunday's episode can likely expect to see the twist play out, as well as the HOH competition. It should be an exciting week of Big Brother, unless you're former winner Rachel Reilly, who had hopes for the Survivor players to just run the table from here on out.

Mallory Aurichio didn't really believe Melody Morris and Drew Campbell would ever be a showmance, and she certainly thinks the chances of that happening are finished after her eviction. In fact, the Big Brother Houseguest talked to CinemaBlend after her eviction on Dee's HOH week, and she said Drew definitely lost more than an ally this week.

I took a break from crashing out over the 1000th episode twist and that the feeds won't be available with a Paramount+ subscription during it, and spoke to Mallory about her eviction. As someone who was closest to Melody, I wanted to get her thoughts on the possibility of her and Drew having a showmance, and if the latest eviction would impact that at all. She made her thoughts clear:

The funny thing is, Mallory wasn't even watching Big Brother online immediately after the 1000th episode, in which live feeders saw the immediate fallout of Melody discovering Drew didn't even give Mallory a vote to stay. His clear gesture of turning on F.A.P had her unwilling to touch him as he cried, and forced him to admit he'd been lying to her about his alliance with the Icons the entire game.

What's interesting to me, however, is that Mallory stated that a showmance between Melody and Drew wasn't something she ever really thought would develop unless they got bored. I guess this was similar to when there was initial flirtation between Dee Valladares and Barrett Pfeiffer, in that it doesn't seem to be much more than two people cuddling.

Now, Drew and Melody are in a Big Brother house, and their relationships are in shambles. Drew is aware that Barrett tried to protect Mallory from eviction, and that he may have even tried to campaign for Drew to be evicted over her. They may all be on the outs, and while the vets escaped the week with an ideal scenario, they may be back on their heels again with the twist sending someone out of the game.

It seems like now would be the best time to watch the live feeds, but unfortunately, we won't have them back until Sunday evening. It's also looking like, in addition to a Houseguest being gone, they could've done the coming week's HOH, the veto, and have a target firmly in place. Drew and Melody might've reconciled! Of all the twists, why was losing the live feeds the option?

We have nothing to do but use our imaginations while waiting to see what happened in the Big Brother house when the feeds were down on Sunday, August 30th on CBS at 8:00 p.m. ET. I'll be tuning in and will definitely be ready to watch the live feeds afterward to get all the other details on what went down in the house.

Yes, Julie Chen Moonves announced a twist that the Houseguests were going back to the year 1000, in honor of the 1000th episode. This would place them in the Middle Ages, in which there would be no HOH, Veto, or Blockbuster, and one of them would be sent home before the next live eviction. Big Brother insists it's never been done before, but that, plus the live feeds being shut off for all of it, has people crashing out because it sounds exactly like an unpopular twist from last season.

The 1000th Episode Twist Has Fans Spiraling

Julie Chen Moonves was cryptic, as always, about what the details of the Big Brother twist were, but two things were clear. Someone is going home without going through a traditional week of the game, and the live feeds will be down for the entirety of it. Fans on X reacted accordingly:

I had a few predictions for what this twist could be, but I never would've guessed Big Brother would be trying to revamp one of its most controversial twists from last year. It's hard to say if this is for sure what's happening, but this feels like the White Locust again, and with all the questions I have, I fear I might be right.

How Does This Twist Work? And Why Does It Feel Like What Happened Last Season?

Julie noted that there will be no HOH, no veto and no eviction during this new twist, and said that one Houseguest will leave before the next live eviction. That said, she never mentioned how long the twist will last or when the next live eviction is. So, I'm questioning how exactly this will work. It's possible this could be a week-long thing, but considering the feeds are only down until Sunday night, I think the twist will end before then.

If that's the case, then not only are we missing someone being sent home without any traditional gameplay involved, but we may also be missing the results of the next HOH and Veto competition. That doesn't sound like something we've never seen before; that sounds like the White Locust twist dressed up as something else, which resulted in Rachel Reilly's elimination last season.

Big Brother fans revolted after that happened last year, so it's genuinely baffling to me that the producers would once again introduce a twist in which someone is cut from the game without going through the motions one expects. Maybe things will be different this time around, but it's not like we could possibly know that until we watch the episode and see how this was different than last time.

With the Big Brother live feeds down, I guess I can use my Paramount+ subscription to catch up on other shows like Beavis and Butt-head. Julie had me thinking of the show with her response to a former Houseguest booing the twist, which, I have to add, was a valid response.

A majority of the conversation around Big Brother 28 so far has been about Rick Devens and Dee Valladares. The two Survivor legends have used a combination of experience and production advantages to basically dominate and impose their will on the other players who are, for the most part, less experienced at the reality television game. Fans have been dropping hot takes on social media for weeks, but now Big Brother legends are speaking out too. Not surprisingly, most have been imploring the other houseguests to mobilize and fight back, but Rachel Reilly has a different take.

Reilly is one of the most famous multi-show personalities in the entire reality television game. She’s appeared on The Traitors, Snake In The Grass, The Amazing Race and several others, but she’s most known for her times on Big Brother. She won a previous season and has been involved in some huge WTF moments. She's also often the talking head the media chooses to interview on issues related to Big Brother. Because of that, you’d think she would be rooting against the Survivor players, but let the record show, she is doing the opposite.

During a conversation on Page Six with fellow Big Brother legends Britney Haynes and Danielle Reyes, Reilly said she’s at the point where she wants to see the icons just roll through the game because she wants it to serve as a lesson to future casts that you need to start playing hard immediately. You can’t just defer to people with more experience or play second fiddle. You need to come out aggressively and treat icons as threats. Here’s a portion of her quote…

I understand where she’s coming from. Sometimes the best reality television change comes in the season immediately after a notable win. A player or group of players dominating in a new or particular notable way causes the entire fanbase, which is filled with future players, to reassess the optimal way to play moving forward. Right now, there are many who think the best way to make a deep run in a game with returning players is to tie yourself to their side, but maybe after this season, that won’t be the conventional wisdom anymore.

Of course, there are plenty of alumni who are rooting against the Survivor players. Both Reyes and Haynes said they want to see Dee and Devens lose the game. Obviously some of that is because they want to see a fun season, but some of that is also because they don’t want the first person to win both Big Brother and Survivor to come from Survivor. They want one of their own to accomplish that feat.

Hilariously, the best positioned person to do that is probably Reilly herself. She’s been very open about her desire to go on Survivor in the past and has openly petitioned longtime host Jeff Probst. He hasn’t committed to putting her on, but her name comes up on a semi-regular basis in casting rumors.

Regardless, Dee and Devens still have a long way to go. The jury phase hasn’t even officially started yet, and while their alliance with Big Brother alumna Angela Murray has gone about as well as possible, everyone else in the house is starting to talk more loudly about taking them out. Dee in particular also seems to have made some enemies of future jurors. They may get to the end, but I’m not sure it’s going to be the steamroll Rachel asked for. We’ll see.

The 1000th episode of Big Brother is finally here, and it couldn't come at a better time for Season 28. Dee Valladares' Head of Household week was going smoothly, even with Lala Verrett's veto win, but it all could go off the rails tonight thanks to a surprise blindside that will send the Icons reeling.

While episode viewers saw Dee and Rick Devens' true plan of weakening the F.A.P. alliance, those watching Big Brother online saw something wild happening on the live feeds. There's a lot to unpack, but trust me, I think this is going to be bigger than whatever twist the show has planned for the live eviction.

Barrett Has Flipped On The Crossovers

Dee and Devens had solidified their plans to evict Mallory Aurichio, but they were brainstorming how to break the news to Drew Campbell and Barrett Pfeiffer that their ally was going home. Unfortunately, they didn't have much time to workshop it because they had this conversation in front of Haley Thogmartin, who then casually told Drew minutes later when he entered the room.

The vets were then forced to scramble and get to Barrett before he found out, but when they did, he did not take it well. He was mad, or as mad as someone as even-keeled as him could be, and he flat-out told the Icons that he would not be a vote to send Mallory home against Taylor.

What he didn't tell them is that afterward, he found Yash Patel and began to hatch a plan that will save Mallory in whatever circumstance happens on Thursday evening. They then went to Mallory and Melody Morris and are now working on Lala and Taylor Brown as well. Plans are in motion, and the plan is to blindside the Icons and send Drew packing.

There Is A Good Chance Drew Will Be Evicted If He Doesn't Win The BB Blockbuster

As it stands now, the best situation for everyone who isn't aligned with the Icons is that Mallory or Taylor wins the BB Blockbuster. Barrett and Yash have successfully aligned to ensure that in those eviction scenarios in which either of them is up against Drew, they have the votes to guarantee that he will go home.

If Drew wins the BB Blockbuster, it's a toss-up between who stays and who goes. Barrett believes he could sway Drew to keep Mallory at the last minute, but they'd also need at least Haley to keep her over Taylor, and that feels like a long shot at this point. Hopefully, the two women can clutch it out, and whatever twist is coming tonight doesn't ruin what could be the biggest blindside of the season.

Basically, Big Brother fans need to watch the live eviction tonight, especially since past Houseguests and other icons will be in attendance. This could end up becoming a Top 10 BB moment, and a reminder to all future Survivor players who join the show that this ain't the island.

The Houseguests of Big Brother Season 28 may be some of the last people in the United States who don't know Dolly Parton passed away. So, it was strange that she was mentioned by Survivor vet Rick Devens after Angela Murray talked about her dog.

Those watching Big Brother online during Dee Valladares' HOH week overheard a conversation in the kitchen in which Angela was talking to the latest veto winner, LaLa Verrett, about her dogs, Dolly and Coco. This delayed her from getting back into the kitchen to check on something, and when she came in, she said that talking about Dolly and Coco can always distract her. This led to a comment from Rick, who said:

It's not weird that Devens would know that, as Dolly Parton's Imagination Library is pretty well known, as is her music. It's just odd that he would evoke her name on the exact day that her death was announced, with no one in the house seemingly aware that it had happened.

It does have me wondering if Big Brother will break the news to the Houseguests, as there have been instances in the past in which they were made aware of events in the outside world. For example, the Season 2 Houseguests were informed about the events of 9/11, and the BB: OTT cast was informed that Donald Trump won the election back in 2016. Big Brother: Canada also made headlines when the Houseguests were made aware of COVID-19 lockdowns and the season ended prematurely.

Outside of what's happening in the house, Dolly Parton's death will impact Big Brother episodes on the 2026 TV schedule. This Sunday's installment will be delayed by an hour, as CBS announced a tribute called Remembering Dolly: A Rhinestone Life. The special will feature archived interviews with Parton that CBS has obtained over the years, highlighting her career in and out of music.

Meanwhile, the game continues for the Houseguests, who all hope they'll get Big Brother's grand prize. If host Julie Chen Moonves or the production team don't inform the Houseguests of her death, there's a good possibility many of them won't learn of it until the game is over in early October. If that's the case, it'd be interesting to see how they'll react to that news in various interviews.

Dee Valladares was set to have an easy second HOH week, and somehow, it's transformed into something overly complicated. The Survivor winner is spiraling out of control as she prepares for the back half of the game, and I fear she's already lost out on Big Brother's grand prize.

For those who aren't current on the house action, Dee has effectively ended the Mosh Pit, pairing her nomination of Drew Campbell with Mallory Aurichio following LaLa Verrett winning the veto. It seems transparent to more than a few in her alliance that the goal is to take out someone in F.A.P. by the week's end, and it's game moves like that which have me thinking she's going to really struggle for multiple reasons as this game continues.

Dee's Gameplay Has Made Her Untrustworthy In The Game

The betrayal was clear on Mallory's face when Dee told her she'd be going up, and it reminded me of what Kamu Kirk told CinemaBlend when we spoke to him. Dee seemingly enjoys lying and deceiving, and she has consistently done that to people she was aligned with in Big Brother.

Dee is making big game moves and entertaining television, but it comes at a huge cost. She's making the people who trust her look like fools and burning bridges left and right. A lot of people will be gunning for her next HOH until the game is over. Can Dee win out and guarantee her safety from here on out? I'm not hopeful.

I Don't Think She'll Win If We Have A Bitter Jury

If Dee does make it to the end, I'm currently wondering who in this jury would want to vote for her compared to others. She's done a poor job of cultivating in-game relationships, spending most all of her time with either Rick Devens, Angela Murray, or Barrett Pfeiffer. There's little to no relationship with everyone else, which puts her at a huge disadvantage.

Dee's closest allies are, realistically, people who would vote for her to win in the end. Not only does that remove a vote she'd have to win, but all of them have better relationships with everyone else in the house than she does. Barrett would have F.A.P's support in jury, as would Drew, and literally everyone loves Rick Devens.

Dee has orchestrated relationships in which the only people who would vote for her to win need to be in the jury for her to win. This is why people who want to win Big Brother don't ignore the social element of the game, and don't only associate with the people they're working closest with. There's a chance she could dig herself out of this hole if she starts next week, but based on how she's moving lately, I don't see that happening.

Big Brother continues on CBS on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 8:00 p.m. ET. The 1000th episode is right around the corner, and with a big twist planned, I'm eager to see how this shapes Season 28.

Big Brother's 1000th episode is quickly approaching and, for weeks, I've been terrified about what's on the horizon. Julie Chen Moonves and the show have suggested that a big twist is on the way, and I have a couple of theories about what it can be. While I love a few of those assumptions, there's one I absolutely hate.

Right now, it's known that the anniversary episode, set for the 2026 TV schedule on August 27th, will include tributes to the show, some of the past iconic players, and of course, a live eviction, but what else is on tap? Here's what I'm thinking, and if the third option ends up being the twist, I'm going to absolutely riot.

There Will Be A "Newbies Only" HOH Competition

Remember when Big Brother announced at the start of the season that the Week 1 HOH would be "Icons Only" and it gave them a huge leg-up in the game? I think it's only fitting, then, that after Dee Valladares' second HOH, this upcoming competition should be "Newbies Only," and the Icons are all ineligible to compete.

This method would be a great way to even the playing field and give the Icons a chance to show how great they are, without their gifted powers as a safety net. Some will say it wouldn't be fair but, hey, it wasn't when it happened in Week 1 either.

CBS Will Announce A New Big Brother House Is Being Built

Ahead of this season, it was announced that Netflix had plans to purchase Radford Studios, which is where the Big Brother house is located. That deal ended up going through in June and, while I'm sure CBS could arrange a deal that allows them to keep the house standing and they could pay Netflix for the rights to use it, the studio house is over twenty years old. If there are no plans to end the series, now might be the perfect time to build a new house on a new lot and showcase some concept art of what it'll look like during the 1000th episode.

A Survivor-Style Immunity Idol Will Be Hidden In The House

CBS seems to love leaning into Survivor vets playing the game, and I can't shake the feeling that another big twist tied to the reality competition series is coming. In my deepest nightmares, Jeff Probst trots out on stage and declares to the Houseguests that the game is about to get a lot more like his show.

It's then that the Big Brother Houseguests are told that an immunity idol is hidden in the house, and whoever finds it will have the opportunity to protect themselves from eviction until the end of the game. I hate that I'm even typing this because, if it comes to be, I will let out a howl of anguish from the Midwest so loud the Houseguests will hear it on the live broadcast. Yes, I don't mind seeing a Survivor player win Big Brother, but let's stop with the training wheels.

As mentioned, Big Brother's 1000th episode is on August 27th on CBS. The only thing we should expect, of course, is the unexpected. We'll see if any of these predictions pan out, though I'd sooner be wrong on all of them than have the final one happen!

Dee Valladares' second Head of Household week is all over the place, with chaos both caused by the Icons' decisions and by some unexpected happenings. Unfortunately, now that the dust has settled, Houseguests have resorted to bullying tactics toward the house's current target, and it's rubbing a lot of fans the wrong way.

Dee ended up putting Lala Verrett, Taylor Brown, and, surprisingly, Drew Campbell up on the block. Despite putting up an ally, he's not the target of a lot of unnecessary meanness this week from the Icons and others. Before we get into that, however, let's talk about how much further Dee's Week 7 HOH went off the rails.

Lala Won The Week 7 Veto

Those watching Big Brother online were shocked on Saturday when the feeds returned, and we learned Lala had won her first veto competition of the season. It was just as surprising as when she won the wall competition for her first HOH win, and now the house is scrambling once again.

Lala was certainly a popular option for eviction, especially after Dee backpedaled on taking Drew out following his passionate nomination speech. Now the target has shifted to Taylor, and it's gotten off to a really mean-spirited start.

The Icons Are Engaging And Encouraging Others To Bully Taylor, And Many Fans Are Fed Up

With the target firmly on Taylor, and her on the outs with the rest of the house, things got nasty really quickly. The Big Brother Houseguests began sitting up in the HOH room and talking smack about Taylor sitting in bed all day, calling her lazy and saying she's always angry. Angela then suggested they give Taylor an "awful" week, for reasons that she never explained.

Those watching Big Brother's live feeds were quickly fed up with the conversations, especially after hearing Rick Devens and Drew talk smack about her days prior. It's led to accusations of Houseguests using microaggressions, and general discomfort about how the Icons once again look like bullies. Here's what they're saying on X:

Taylor spent a lot of Sunday in her bed, and finally came out to try and smooth the waters with Angela and Haley Thogmartin. Unfortunately, none of it is even related to the game, but more their personal feelings toward each other. It puts her at a disadvantage as another eviction nears, as she's forced to mend the fence with others on a personal level rather than campaign to stay another week.

Whether Taylor leaves this week is still up in the air. While Dee decided to back off her plan to evict Drew, she's now considering nominating Mallory Aurichio in an effort to weaken the F.A.P alliance. I'm sure if that happens Mal and Melody Morris will wish they had betrayed the icons when they had the chance.

The good news for Taylor is it'll keep her safe another week if the target flips, and give her another chance to take a shot at the Icons, presumably after they lose F.A.P. due to Dee lying about the true target. The rest of this week could go many directions, though whoever survives it in the end is assured to be one step closer to winning Big Brother's prize money.
