P. Diddy was arrested seven months ago and has been in prison awaiting his trial on federal charges of racketeering, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution. With less than a month until proceedings kick off on May 5, the music mogul’s defense team has kicked things into high gear, and a big move now puts Sean Combs in the same boat as other musicians like Michael Jackson and Chris Brown.

Diddy’s Defense Team Is Making Changes Just Weeks Ahead Of Trial

Marc Agnifilo has led Diddy’s defense to this point — most recently filing a motion to keep the other, separate civil lawsuits against the rapper out of the federal trial. Now, it appears attorney Mark Geragos will join him in a lead role, Page Six reports. Geragos has worked with Chris Brown in the past, as well as Michael Jackson, Hunter Biden, and Lyle and Erik Menendez.

Mark Geragos is already an advisor on the case, but the defense team is reportedly preparing paperwork that would allow him to appear in court on behalf of Diddy. Mark’s daughter, Teny Geragos, is also part of the defense team.

Last month, Anthony Ricco — one of the six lawyers working with Puff Daddy (who has changed his name many times over the years) — stepped down from the case, but it was not made clear whether Mark Geragos is replacing Ricco or intended to fill a different role for Diddy in the courtroom.

50 Cent Comments On Diddy’s Pursuit Of Another Powerhouse Attorney

Sean Combs also has reportedly been pursuing Joe Tacopina — who has represented clients including A$AP Rocky and Donald Trump — to join his legal team. However, Tacopina told The Breakfast Club in March (per THR) that he declined the offer due to issues between Diddy and some of the lawyer’s friends, including Jay-Z.

Jay-Z has already found himself involved in Diddy’s legal woes, after he was named in a rape lawsuit that was ultimately dismissed. Another of Joe Tacopina’s famous friends appears to be P. Diddy foe 50 Cent, who said last year he’s working on a bombshell Sean Combs documentary for Netflix.

On an Instagram post captured by Vibe, 50 Cent apparently commented on what it might mean for Diddy if he was able to secure Joe Tacopina, writing:

In addition to the bad blood between the defendant and the lawyer’s friends, Joe Tacopina also cited lack of preparation time as another reason he rejected the offer to join the team.

When the May 5 trial kicks off, it seems videos from Puffy’s “freak off” parties are going to play a big role in his defense. Consent appears to be a major part of Diddy’s team’s strategy, and race may play into it, too, as a court filing allegedly reads that “no white person has ever been the target of a remotely similar prosecution.” Both of these were issues discussed in the mock trial depicted in the TMZ documentary The Downfall of Diddy: His Defense (available to stream for free on Tubi).

Diddy has maintained his innocence against all charges, so we’ll have to see how things play out in front of a judge and jury come May 5.

The members of the Kardashian-Jenner family are among the biggest names in celebrity fashion and have therefore been fixtures at the Met Gala for years. It’s strange, then, that every year rumors circulate that Kim Kardashian and her sisters didn't receive invites. We may be turning the page on the calendar (which will hopefully bring a new season of The Kardashians on the 2025 TV schedule), but the story remains the same — with a twist. There is yet again speculation about the famous family’s Met Gala status, and this time Rihanna is involved.

Despite Kim Kardashian’s relationship with Vogue editor Anna Wintour and the guaranteed headlines to come from the family at the Met Gala each May, there always seems to be some reason for rumors to circulate about the reality stars being blacklisted. This year, Rihanna is that reason. The Unapologetic artist — who has been known to rock some wild costumes herself — is allegedly trying to get them banned. RadarOnline reports:

While the “Umbrella” singer may not be a big fan of Kim Kardashian’s, it’s actually Kendall Jenner who allegedly has drawn Rihanna’s ire in a bigger way. Back in 2014 the model got cozy with Chris Brown — Rihanna’s ex-boyfriend who physically assaulted her during an argument in 2009. The site’s source alleges:

In 2024, Kim Kardashian got dragged for her “dumb” sweater amid rumors that Kendall Jenner was the only member of her family to receive an invite. A year earlier, Kylie Jenner collaborated with boyfriend Timothée Chalamet for a gorgeous red-and-blue number. Would Rhianna really rob us of moments like that, Kim’s Marilyn Monroe dress debacle or the time she went full Batman? It’s hard to believe, but I can’t say the thought of the singer making such a petty move doesn’t make me smirk just a little.

Over the years, Chris Brown has found himself embroiled in a number of legal situations during the course of his career. Now, he in the midst of yet another legal entanglement. The 35-year-old rapper is at the receiving end of a lawsuit that comes amid his 11:11 tour. Four plaintiffs have come forward to file suit, and they claim that they were assaulted by members of Brown’s entourage amid a VIP experience. The group is now seeking significant retribution for the alleged violence, as they’re reportedly suing Brown for $50 million.

The “Run It!” singer isn’t the only defendant who’s been named in the suit. According to TMZ, Yella Beezy and Sinko Ceej (the head of the entertainer's posse) have also been named alongside Live Nation. As for the plaintiffs in question, they are Charles Bush, Larry Parker, Da Marcus Powell and Joseph Lewis. The four are suing the Grammy winner in relation to an incident that supposedly took place during Brown’s tour stop in Fort Worth, Texas this past weekend.

Per the suit, the situation went down following a show on Saturday, July 20. Charles Bush and co. were allegedly invited to hang out with the Stomp the Yard alum and his crew following the concert. It’s also said that 40 women were taken to the VIP room as well. After reportedly being 30 minutes late to the room, Chris Brown showed up and dapped up Bush, who congratulated him on a good show. However, the energy in the room purportedly changed when one of Brown’s associates declared that the singer had beef with Bush a while ago. With that, the “Summer Too Hot” performer allegedly ordered that Bush be attacked. Bush claimed in the suit that he was punched and kicked by at least seven members of Brown’s crew and that Hood Boss threw a chair at his head.

Specific claims also come from Larry Parker, who alleges that he was punched and kicked in the head for 10 minutes. In the suit, it was also noted that the This Christmas star supposedly told his boys to “fuck up” Parker, who was supposedly chased until he arrived at a dead-end staircase with a locked door.

As of this writing, Chris Brown’s team has yet to release a statement on the matter. The four men who are suing the star all claim to have suffered serious injuries due to the purported scuffle. Additionally, the quartet want restraining orders filed against Brown, Yella Beezy and Sinko Ceej.

Of the various legal entanglements that Chris Brown has been involved in, the one that people might remember most is his domestic violence case involving former girlfriend Rihanna. Said situation stemmed from an argument between the two in February 2009, which resulted in Brown punching the "Pon de Replay" singer. After the Barbadian singer was hospitalized with facial scars, Brown turned himself in to the authorities, ultimately receiving five years of probation and more. Brown went off on fans about the situation in early 2023, chiding them for continuing to bring up his indiscretion.

The Battle of the Year actor also notably involved a 2012 nightclub brawl involving fellow entertainer Drake. He was also the subject of a five-year restraining order from his ex-girlfriend, Karrueche Tran. And, in 2019, Brown was accused of rape and drug possession while in Paris, though he later filed a defamation suit against the woman who made the claims.

Only time will tell how this latest situation plays out for Chris Brown. But, if this case does go to court and the plaintiffs have their way, it could be very pricey for Brown.

It’s been over a year since Kanye West reportedly lost over a billion dollars and multiple business partnerships by making — and then doubling down on — disparaging comments about the Jewish community. Now, the disgraced rapper has come under fire again for more of the same. A viral video is circulating that shows Ye dancing and singing along to his new song “Vultures,” which includes controversial lyrics, and he wasn’t alone. Other rappers like Chris Brown and Ty Dolla Sign were also laughing it up.

Kanye West recently released “Vultures,” featuring Ty Dolla Sign, Lil Durk and Bump J. It’s his first official release in over a year and his first song since multiple accusations of anti-semitism over controversial comments he made in interviews. He addresses those accusations in the lyrics of one of the verses, rapping, "How I'm anti-semitic? I just fucked a Jewish bitch."

A viral video of Kanye West laughing as he raps along to the aforementioned part of the song has been going around X (TwitteR), and it’s not just Kim Kardashian’s ex-husband who’s being called out. The video shows Chris Brown, Ty Dolla Sign, Bump J and others dancing and seeming to be amused by Ye’s rap.

Several people have spoken out online about the video, including Jewish businesswoman Tanya Zuckerbrot, who posted it on her Instagram with the caption: "What’s more sickening? The lyrics…? Or the fact that both Kanye West and Chris Brown find it hysterical?..." 

Other comments on her post called the video “beyond sickening,” “disgraceful,” and “heinous,” with one calling Kanye West and Chris Brown “the two most problematic rappers of all time.” Others pointed out Brown’s own checkered past, having infamously punched his then-girlfriend Rihanna in the face in 2009, and facing multiple sexual assault claims over the years.

Chris Brown defended himself against the backlash he’s received for appearing to be laughing with Kanye West in the video, denying antisemitism as he wrote on Instagram Stories: 

Kanye West has previously already been dropped by multiple companies — Adidas, Balenciaga, Vogue and many others — for comments in 2022, including that he would go “death con 3” on Jewish people. (Adidas lost a lot of money making the decision, as well.) The rapper was also accused multiple times of perpetuating stereotypes about the Jewish community in regards to controlling money and the media. He doubled down on his claims in October, saying that the backlash he received for such sentiments only proved his point. 

Ye later went on the podcast InfoWars, where he said he saw “good things about Hitler,” and hours later Kanye West posted an image of a swastika on Twitter, which caused his account to be suspended. Since then he had stayed fairly quiet, especially on social media, until the release of "Vultures," at least.

Chris Brown has been a fixture within the music industry for over two decades now and continues to produce music steadily. Despite his success, his career has also been marred by a number of legal and personal issues, as Brown has been sued for sexual assault and arrested over alleged assault and drugs in the past. Though the most notable situation he was embroiled in is arguably a 2009 incident in which he assaulted then-girlfriend Rihanna. Well over a decade later, the situation still seems to be very much within the public consciousness, and Brown seems more than aware of this. Because shortly after his ex’s Super Bowl LVII halftime performance, he went off on those who still chastise for the assault. Brown even called out Nic Cage and other celebrities over their own allegations.

The Grammy winner took to his Instagram story this past Friday to share his brutally honest thoughts. The singer directly addressed those who still “hate” him for the “mistake” he made years ago, saying that the commentators can “kiss my whole entire fucking ass.” Within his remarks, he also name-dropped fellow rapper Blueface and his girlfriend, Chrisean Rock, who – as Chris Brown puts it – “beat the fuck out of each other in front of the world.” You can see his message in its entirety down below: 

These comments come shortly after the “With You” singer responded to Rihanna’s performance at the Super Bowl, which garnered a response from fellow music phenom Adele as well as a reaction from Zendaya. As noted by Page Six, in a post, he wrote, “GO GIRL,” adding a red heart and praying hands emojis. The comment was subsequently chastised by social media users across the web. When further addressing the criticism, the Stomp the Yard alum pointed to what he believes to be a double standard between white, male actors and their male, non-white counterparts:

The “Wall to Wall” performer was also recently called out after Chloe Bailey revealed that they collaborated on a new single, “How Does It Feel.” 3LW and Cheetah Girls alum Kiely Williams blasted him on social media sometime after Bailey confirmed the news. With that, the This Christmas star screenshotted Williams’ post and called her out:

This recent development would suggest that many still have strong feelings about Chris Brown’s actions. However, his posts suggest that he’s done with the continued criticism. One can only speculate as to whether similar commentary from the general public will arise when Brown’s new single with Chloe Bailey officially drops this coming week.

Yesterday, it was reported that Chris Brown was arrested in Paris for drug possession and sexual assault. Along with two other unidentified individuals, the R&B musician was left in holding while the story was making waves around the world. It was the latest in a long string of accusations made against Brown in the past decade, but he insists this story is untrue. Now, Brown is suing the woman who accused him of sexual assault for defamation.

According to Raphael Chiche, the attorney of Chris Brown, the controversial musician is "free" and able to travel back home. With that, as it was reported by TMZ, Chiche claims that his client "vigorously challenges" the criminal charges presented against him. Brown is suing the woman who accused him of sexual assault earlier this week for what the musician claims is "slanderous denunciation" made against his character. The forthcoming lawsuit is expected to be filed with a public prosecutor in Paris at some point today. Details are otherwise being kept vague.

As it was reported yesterday, the reported sexual assault occurred at the Mandarin Oriental hotel in Chris Brown's suite between January 15th-16th. The unknown woman is reportedly a 24-year-old model who, according to her testimony, met Brown at a nightclub, along with several other women. She and the other women were later invited to Brown's suite, but at some point in the night, the woman and Chris Brown were reportedly alone, and that's when the alleged sexual assault occurred. The woman also claimed that she was abused by one of Brown's friends, as well as his bodyguard.

Chris Brown is claiming in his case that he was never alone with the woman, and the musician is also claiming that he was listening to music with 20 other people in attendance in the suite for the duration of the evening. Brown believes he is being publicly defamed, and he's now suing his accuser.

Chris Brown was released by the French police on Tuesday, according to the report. The investigation is currently still ongoing, and it is not yet known how long the investigation is expected to proceed. Brown is reportedly free to leave the country, though, and he was also released with no conditions.

This is not the first time Chris Brown has found himself in trouble in recent months. In July, Brown was arrested in West Palm Beach, Florida for an outstanding warrant of felony battery from April 2017. It followed an altercation where Brown reportedly struck a photographer who took a picture of the musician without his permission. Additionally, Brown has been in the midst of legal woes for allegedly owning a pet monkey illegally named Fiji.

Most famously, however, Chris Brown is known for pleading guilty to felony assault of his former girlfriend, Rihanna, during an altercation in 2009. He was sentenced to a restraining order against Rihanna, and Brown was ordered to attend domestic violence counseling, as well as community service.

Chris Brown is reportedly in very serious trouble again. According to recent reports, the R&B musician was allegedly detained in Paris over allegations of drug possession and sexual assault. He is currently being held by French authorities alongside two other undisclosed individuals, according to the French judicial source speaking to the press and media at this time. This altercation is the latest in a long string of reported criminal offenses for Brown.

As it was reported by CNN, details are currently limited when it comes to Chris Brown's most recent arrest, but it's known that Brown is alleged accused of "drug violations and aggravated rape," according to French authorities. The U.S. Embassy in Paris declined to comment on the situation, as did the representatives for the musician. Chris Brown and the other two detained individuals are still reportedly locked up at the time of this reporting.

He has also found himself in a good bit of legal trouble for reportedly illegally owning a pet monkey named Fiji. As the case continued for the musician, Chris Brown tried to make a case by saying that he didn't actually own the pet at any point.

Developments regarding this arrest in Paris are expected to arrive in the days to come. Chris Brown is in a whole bunch of trouble right now. While that's not unusual for the controversial musician, this particular legal hassle is a bit more atypical for him. As it was previously reported, Brown is in the midst of a dispute involving a baby capuchin monkey named Fiji, which was believed to be under Brown's care. But, the musician is now claiming that the exotic animal does not, in fact, belong to him, and the R & B artist says he is not at fault. Brown doesn't think he should be charged or sentenced to jail time for this offense. It's a weird turn-of-events, but here's what we now know.

As it was reported by TMZ, Chris Brown is fighting the Los Angeles City Attorney over two counts of "having a restricted species without a permit." Should Brown be convicted of these charges, the musician could face the maximum sentence of six months in jail. Clearly, he doesn't want to spend any time behind bars -- particularly for this matter. Therefore, Brown denies the allegations that he housed an illegally harbored baby capuchin monkey.

The problems began months earlier when Chris Brown posted a video of Fiji, the baby capuchin monkey, next to Brown's 3-year-old daughter, Royalty. There were several complaints online by people believing it wasn't the least bit safe to have such a young child next to a dangerous animal, but Brown shrugged off such concerns. He wasn't able to do that, however, when the authorities came onto the scene. Specifically, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife started an investigation on Brown, looking into how he procured the animal. Not long after that, Chris Brown reportedly turned the monkey in to the police. It was only earlier this week when he was formally charged. The new year brings in Chris Brown's February 6th, 2019 court date.

When it comes to Chris Brown's beliefs that he isn't to blame, the musician claims the seemingly-damning video wasn't actually shot in his L.A. house. Rather, it was filmed in Las Vegas, none other than Sin City itself, which is where Brown claims the monkey lives with its actual owner. Brown continues to insist that he isn't the real owner of the monkey. That would seemingly contradict the claims that Brown turned the monkey in to the L.A. authorities.

This is why the authorities aren't buying that excuse, and why Chris Brown built upon that claim by saying that his relative, who actually owns the monkey, just-so-happened to be in town for that week with Fiji, and that's how he was able to turn the animal into the authorities. That explanation seems a bit... well, fishy.

So, it sounds like Chris Brown and the Los Angeles authorities are going to continue to bicker it out while this legal discourse enters the new year. As for Fiji's condition, the animal is reportedly in safe care and doing well, according to reports. At the very least, that's a very encouraging note to hear.

Chris Brown is, once again, in trouble. As it is being reported, the R&B musician is battling claims from a woman, called Jane Doe in the case in order to protect her privacy, who says she was sexually assaulted numerous times by a friend of the musician during a party Chris Brown' house. The suit was filed on Wednesday by Gloria Allred, the woman's lawyer, who says Jane Doe was held against her will and violated in the Los Angeles residency in February of 2017. Jane Doe is also suing a woman she claims forced her into the sexual act at a party. Here's what we know so far about the allegations.

The New York Times reported on the case. In addition to the names listed above, Jane Doe and Gloria Allred have listed fifty other people as defendants. They are all unnamed at this time, partly because Jane Doe does not know their names. In the case, there are charges of battery, sexual battery, assault, gender violence and civil rights violations, among other claims made. Allred says her client is "severely traumatized" by this ordeal. The Los Angeles Police Department is currently investigating the episode, and it has been forwarded to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office for evaluation. Meanwhile, according to Chris Brown's lawyer, Mark Geragos, Allred was asking Chris Brown for $17 million before filing the case on Wednesday, which Geragos rejected on his client's behalf.

As it was reported in the case, Jane Doe was invited to an after-party at a recording studio, where she was expected to meet Chris Brown, along with the other rapper involved in this case. It was in the early hours of February 24th, which followed a concert in the Los Angeles area. Her phone was taken when she arrived, Doe claims, because Brown didn't want phones to be inside the studio. When she was asked to receive her phone back, she was refused that request. During the party, Doe was taken to an upper floor room where she was lead to believe she would receive her phone again. It was in this room, along with others located inside the house, where Doe claims she was assaulted. She does not claim, however, that Chris Brown was involved in the alleged attack. Nevertheless, this is a deeply troubling story and case.

During a news conference, Gloria Allred said Jane Doe's story was "one of the most horrific cases involving alleged sexual assaults that I have ever seen." According to Chris Brown's lawyer Mark Geragos, his clients mantains "investigation shows that none of these allegations are true." Geragos also goes on to say that Chris Brown may be specifically targeted in this recently-filed suit.

Gloria Allred denies Mark Geragos allegations that she demanded $17 million from the controversial musician. Allred goes as far as to say that she has "never made a demand for any compensation whatsoever." Be sure to check back with CinemaBlend for updates.

If there's one celebrity that has been riddled with controversies, its hip hop artist Chris Brown. While he was once America's hip hop sweetheart with a ton of endorsement deals, his attack on Rihanna brought his career to a screeching halt. The two have seemingly mended fences, and Brown has managed to stay a relevant member of the rap community. But he hasn't exactly stopped getting himself mixed up into trouble, including a little jail time and some domestic abuse allegations. But the latest bit of drama has a far more cartoonish tone, as it's actually about Brown's pet monkey.

Chris Brown procured his pet capuchin monkey Fiji a few months ago, but didn't actually got the permit to keep her in America. According to TMZ, the California Dept. of Fish and Wildlife opened an investigation about Fiji, after Brown began posting photos and video of the little guy on his social media accounts. Since Brown never got the permits to keep the monkey, he could face criminal charges.

Eventually authorities got a search warrant for Chris Brown's home. But before the place got raided, he reportedly surrendered the monkey to the authorities. Apparently his misstep could result in being charged with having a restricted species without a permit. This charge is a misdemeanor, that carries a maximum of 6 months in jail. Considering Brown's history of arrest, it's unclear if this possible charge could have larger consequences going down the road.

Brown seemed to originally give his daughter Royalty the monkey, although some critics said this was a dangerous choice. Eventually, Chris Brown said that Fiji actually belonged to him, and he didn't just give his young daughter a capuchin on a whim. He's posted quite a few videos with the little guy, check out some clips below.

Chris Brown hasn't posted about the monkey business on his various social media accounts, likely wanting to contain the situation and not get himself into anymore trouble. Because as cute as little Fiji is, a pet monkey probably isn't the thing to take a stand about.

This is just the latest in a long line of incidents by Chris Brown. Of course, the most infamous is his brutal physical attack on Rihanna in 2009. This is likely what people most closely associate with Brown in general, as the images of Rihanna's wounds went viral after the incident occurred. But he's also had quite a few other run ins with the law, to varying levels of seriousness.

Hopefully the debacle with Fiji the monkey will be his last.

Who could forget the picture of Rihanna with facial bruises and cuts after her ex-boyfriend, Chris Brown, became physically violent with her? It has been eight years since the world first saw that image. Now, in a new documentary, Brown has revealed his recollection of what happened when a domestic dispute turned violent after the Clive Davis party before the 2009 Grammy Awards. From the sounds of it, Brown feels like he was not the one who instigated the fight, but he says he took it way, way too far. He described the scene inside the car and said,

Apparently, physical violence had crept into the relationship long before the incident that caught the world's attention. According to Chris Brown, a series of domestic disputes started when he told Rihanna that he had been intimate with another woman. In the documentary, Chris Brown: Welcome to My Life, Brown indicated he felt "like a monster" when fights with Rihanna turned physical, and he suggested that they both took turns starting physically violent conflicts.

On the night of "the incident," the other woman whom Chris Brown had been with approached him at the Clive Davis party. Rihanna saw the brief interaction and began bawling. The two pop singers left the party, and Brown urged her to look at his phone as proof that he was not cheating on her. He swore not to be reaching out to the other woman, but Rihanna saw a text message from her. As Brown told it, that moment was when the violence began.

Chris Brown said both he and Rihanna had been drinking. He said Rihanna grabbed his testicles at one point, so he hit her. Brown stated that they pulled the car over to the side of the road, and he got out. Then Rihanna began shouting to passersby and pleading for help.

The incident occurred a little after midnight on February 8, 2009. Brown turned himself over to the Los Angeles Police at 6:30 p.m. that evening. Per the department's policy, the police report did not include the victim's name, but the media gathered that the woman involved was Rihanna.

In the subsequent days, the picture of Rihanna with a black eye surfaced. Chris Brown got dropped from most of his sponsors and replaced on public appearances. Radio stations banned his music, and he hired a crisis management team to intervene.

The following month, the authorities charged Chris Brown with felony assault. In April of that year, Brown pleaded not guilty to assault and making criminal threats, but then on June 22, 2009, he pleaded guilty to assault and accepted a plea deal. The deal included community labor in addition to five years of probation and counseling for domestic-violence offenders.

In the years since the incident, Chris Brown has apologized for what happened. He has mentioned various aspects of the incident, but this description provides a full understanding.

Rihanna, too, has opened up about that fateful night and her relationship with Chris Brown. In an interview with Oprah Winfrey, Rihanna admitted that the experience shot her into an intrinsic search for answers. Rihanna said she was angry and trapped in a dark place in her life after the incident.

Eventually, Rihanna learned to forgive Chris Brown by addressing resentment she felt toward him that resembled resentment she harbored against her father, who behaved violently during her childhood. When she made peace with her dad, she was able to make peace with Brown and see patterns in her behaviors and romantic choices.

Since then, Chris Brown and Rihanna have interacted in various ways over the years. For example, Brown collaborated on the song "Birthday Cake" with her. In fact, he recently commented with an eyes emoji on a sexy picture of her, but Rihanna's fans and followers were not having any of it and told him to hit the road. Surely, both of them have changed a lot in the past eight years, but it may be wise to continue keeping at least some distance.

Back in 2009, a judge ordered a restraining order be put into effect between Chris Brown and his ex-girlfriend Rihanna after he admitted to domestic violence charges leveled against him, and now it appears as though history is repeating itself. This time, it is Brown's other most long-term girlfriend, Karrueche Tran, that's taking the R&B crooner to court.

Earlier this month, Karrueche Tran reportedly filed legal documents against Chris Brown, alleging him of domestic violence and death threats while she was dating him, TMZ reported. Tran, who dated Brown on and off for nearly five years, is claiming that Brown had punched her in the stomach and pushed her down a staircase during their relationship, all while still on court-ordered probation after his 2009 domestic violence sentencing. She goes on to say that Brown would also threaten her by telling people that he was going to kill her, and saying things like if he can't have her then nobody else can either.

TMZ pointed out that Chris Brown posted a video to his Instagram story at the very end of January that seems to match the jealous sentiment that Karrueche Tran is reporting. In the self-recorded clip, Brown declares that if he loves a woman, then he is willing to make her life miserable rather than let her be with someone else.

Karrueche Tran has reportedly been awarded a restraining order against Chris Brown as a result of her claims, and now the R&B singer will have to stay at least 100 yards away from Tran and her family. Though Tran and Brown have been broken up for nearly two years now, Tran says that she became worried for her safety recently, as she says she began to see Brown start acting on his threats, which is why she filed these legal papers now.

Karrueche Tran and Chris Brown were dating on and off from 2010 to 2015, making her Brown's longest term girlfriend. Tran was a personal shopper at Nordstrom when she first started seeing Brown a year after his well-known domestic abuse charge, and her famous relationship allowed her to become a model and actress. Though Brown was connected to a number of other women during his five-year relationship with Tran, including a second round with Rihanna, the pair continued to get back together throughout the period. The couple finally broke it off in 2015, when it was revealed that Brown had a child with another woman. He later won joint custody of his two-year-old daughter Royalty.

Lovato responded by commenting on the shot with a laughing emoji, peace sign, and thumbs up, and then went on to share the photo --- which featured Minaj giving her what looks like a side-eyed glare --- on her own account, saying that the image summed up her night and that she didn't enjoy the Met Gala. It sounds like Lovato is commenting on a feud with Minaj, but Lovato later added a clarification to her Instagram comment, saying that she loved how Minaj was looking at her and was actually just trying to make a joke at how awkward she herself looked in the photo.

After Lovato posted a photo of herself with Hailey Baldwin, who has a rough relationship with Swift and her squad, Lovato reportedly lost some famous followers on her Instagram account, including Swift, Karlie Kloss, Selena Gomez, Gigi Hadid, and more, according to Seventeen.

But it doesn't seem like the photo made Kardashian angry if she noticed it --- the reality star actually took a break from her social media hiatus a few months later to follow Hilton on Instagram.

Two of the most celebrated albums of 2016 came from Rihanna and Beyonce, but only Beyonce's Lemonade managed to get an Album of the Year nomination from the Grammys. Rihanna fan vented about his anger that ANTI didn't get the big nomination, and accused the awards show of purposefully short-changing Rihanna in order to keeping the spotlight on Beyonce. Surprisingly, Rihanna actually liked the shady post, but as Us Weekly reported, later went on to clarify that she hadn't read the full caption and didn't approve of the Instagram user pitting black women against one another.

Joe Jonas gave Reddit users everything they could have wanted in an AMA in 2016, unabashedly discussing various intimate details about his private life. One of those stories was about how he lost his virginity, which he said was to a past girlfriend named Ashley. Chris Brown made himself public enemy number one (yet again) after making some distasteful remarks about another R&B singer. After the singer Kehlani posted a photo from a hospital bed to Instagram saying that she had attempted suicide, Brown went on a Twitter rant accusing her of making the whole thing up. Fellow R&B songstresses Zendaya and Tinashe, both of whom had recently collaborated with Brown, swiftly hit the unfollow button, PerezHilton reported. Two-fifths of Fifth Harmony --- Dinah Jane and Normani Kordei --- also joined in on the unfollowing.

Another day, another public relations disaster for Chris Brown. The R&B singer turned tabloid fixture sparked controversy at a celebrity basketball game on Sunday by engaging in a lengthy argument with a fan on the sidelines, and remaining seated during the national anthem on the 15th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorism attacks.

A video shared by TMZ shows Chris Brown standing on chairs to yell at a fan on the sidelines of the University of Southern California basketball court. Brown's remarks are unintelligible in the video, due to the loud music being played, but the altercation clearly got heated as uniformed police officers soon step in. TMZ reports that Brown was yelling at a fan who made his way into the wrong section of the arena, and that Power 106 (the sponsor of the charity event) take Brown's side in the argument.

But since he's Chris Brown, the singer couldn't let yelling at a fan be the only controversial thing he did at the Power 106 celebrity basketball game. Brown also remained seated during Tank's performance of the national anthem before the game, which took place on the 15th anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001 this Sunday. The decision to stay seated follows a similar action by San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who recently refused to stand during the national anthem before a game in support of the Black Lives Matter movement. Brown responded to headlines that followed his choice to remain seated with a brief Instagram post, captioned simply "Stay classy!"

The controversies at this weekend's celebrity basketball game are tame compared to when Chris Brown was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon after a police stand-off at his home a couple weeks back. Former Miss California Baylee Curran informed the police that Brown had pulled a gun on her after he found her admiring his jewelry, PEOPLE reports. Brown, however, maintains that Curran lied about the altercation.

Chris Brown has had multiple incidents with the law and bad press throughout his years in the spotlight. Back in 2014, the singer was held in custody for a few months after punching a fan, and before that was in rehab for anger management issues. Of course, the initial and most famous of Brown's public disasters was towards the beginning of his career, when then-girlfriend Rihanna accused him of domestic violence against her.

Chris Brown has done a really good job of staying out of the headlines since he was officially released from jail at the beginning of this month. In fact, a lot of his fans thought the singer may have grown up quite a bit during his time behind bars. Maybe that’s true. Maybe it isn’t. Either way, he’s battling some bad headlines tonight after a video emerged of the singer in what appeared to be an extremely inebriated state.

The video in question was shot following the BET Awards at an after-party, and it’s currently running up on TMZ. It features Chris Brown and several members of his entourage and/ or bodyguards walking out from inside the venue to their waiting car. The scene is, of course, bedlam as awards ceremony after-parties always are, but there’s something strange about the footage. The members of the entourage seem to be helping the singer along, as if he’s not totally with it.

Quite a few outlets have, of course, jumped to the conclusion that he’s heavily intoxicated in the footage. That may well be the case. Given the way musicians behave, you ordinarily wouldn’t even think anything of it. God only knows what your average rock star gets up to after a show, but when it comes to Chris Brown, there is quite a bit of hope that he’s going to get the momentum going in the right direction. People are waiting for him to slip and fall again, and any reports of drinking or alleged drinking are bad headlines.

A case could be made that he’s one of the most talented pop stars since Michael Jackson, but because of all the ugly headlines that have followed him over the years, that talent isn’t what the majority of people see. Instead, they see a thug or whatever negative term they'd like to use. Some of that anger is warranted because of mistakes he's made, but everyone deserves the chance to grow up after paying for their crimes.

The actual BET Awards represented Brown’s first on-stage appearance since he was released from jail. He showed up in the shiniest and coolest red shoes I have ever seen, and the crowd ate the performance up. Ideally, we’ll read about more of those headlines moving forward.

Chris Brown is a free man once again. After sitting in Los Angeles County Jail on a probation violation for the past few months, the singer was officially released back in to the world this morning at 12:01 AM.

According to NBC News, Brown first was taken into custody in mid-March thanks to an incident that occurred in Washington DC back in October of 2013. The singer was taking a picture with some girls when he was photobombed and allegedly responded by punching the random dude in the face. That case hasn’t gone to trial yet, but its mere existence triggered a probation violation.

Initially, Chris Brown headed to rehab, but after that didn’t work out, a judge threw him in jail in March and later sentenced him to serve a year. He was given credit for his time in rehab and spent an additional few months behind bars before he was released this morning thanks to behaving himself.

During all of the legal proceedings, Chris Brown met with doctors and was reportedly diagnosed for the first time with bipolar disorder. If he continues to receive treatment for that condition, it could finally lead to him walking the straight and narrow for the first time in a long time. Ideally, it’ll also keep him away from all of the negative headlines he typically produces.

It’s a little dramatic to say rehabilitation centers are like prisons, but the two places are not entirely dissimilar. Both require residents to submit to very rigid rules, and both promise serious consequences for not following them. Just ask Chris Brown. He apparently couldn’t keep his hands to himself or his contempt for the situation properly masked while inside rehab; so, now, he’s going to spend more than a month in the slammer.

According to TMZ, Brown was kicked out of rehab last week after an alleged pattern of inappropriate behavior began to emerge. He reportedly refused to take a drug test for several hours (though he later passed), spoke very negatively about treatment during a group therapy session, inappropriately touched at least one of the females seeking treatment despite being told he wasn’t allowed within two feet and allegedly began a sexual relationship with another female. Those might not be felony level crimes, but in a treatment environment where order and stability are paramount, they present problems.

Brown and his attorney, Mark Geragos, were in court today to try and convince the judge to let the singer transfer to another rehab facility or wait out the month or so before his Washington DC trial under house arrest, but that plea apparently fell on deaf ears. So, Brown will have to ship off to prison for a month or so until the legal proceedings begin on April 23.

Even if he’s convicted, it’s highly unlikely Brown will get much more than a slap on the wrist for the alleged DC area assault itself, but thanks to all of the issues he’s had in the past, such a conviction would likely violate his probation and send him to the slammer for up to four years.

We’ll keep you updated on this case as more details become available. Until then, here’s to hoping Brown uses his time behind bars to finally figure out a strategy that will keep him out of trouble and out of the papers, at least for the wrong reasons.

Earlier this week, Chris Brown checked into rehab following his involvement in yet another brawl. In theory, this sounds like an incredibly mature decision and a positive development in his life, but many of the singer’s harshest critics are seeing something far different.

Thanks to this most recent Washington DC brawl in which he allegedly punched a random dude all up in the face, for of all crimes photobombing him, Brown is being investigated for violating his probation. If he were to be found guilty on such a charge, he would be sent to jail for four years. In matters like this, however, judges tend to look more kindly on defendants who are actively getting their lives together, as in doing things like checking into rehab.

On the one hand, it’s easy to see where the singer’s critics are coming from. Brown hasn’t spoken a ton about his motivations, but he did release a statement saying he wants to seek “insight” into his behavior. That’s a phenomenal reason for checking into rehab, but that way of looking at the situation also sounds suspiciously like it might be lawyer-advised. Over the years, he’s continually made mistake after mistake and very rarely has he shown any signs of remorse.

On the other hand, however, it really seems unfair that people are giving Brown a hard time about going to rehab. Celebrities get help for drug and alcohol problems all the time, and for the most part, we cheer them. Why is that any different than getting help with anger management? Besides, experts say people with problems should go to rehab, regardless of what they say to justify it.

Hot of the heels of his most recent brawl, Chris Brown has decided and/ or been advised to check into rehab to deal with his temper. Not a whole lot of details are known about the specifics, but all involved seem to agree he was dropped off last night somewhere in Malibu and will officially seek help for anger management.

Over the past several years, Brown has gotten into more than his share of heated confrontations. The most notable, of course, happened when he hit his girlfriend Rihanna, leading to an arrest and the general public turning on him. Beyond that, however, there has been a dustup with Frank Ocean over a parking spot, a full-on, bottle-throwing brawl with Drake over their shared history with Rihanna and numerous smaller arguments involving car accidents, refusals to take down a mural and more. Over the weekend, he found himself in yet another altercation with a stranger, this time in Washington DC, and that’s when the decision was made to choose rehab.

It’s an extremely noble choice, one that should pay great dividends down the road, but in the short-term that could be an ulterior motive in play. Because of the most recent brouhaha and his colorful history of disagreements, there’s a very good chance Brown will be hit with a probation violation. If convicted of that, he could face up to four years in prison. Consequently, when all involved go in front of a judge (he’s already met with a probation official, as per TMZ), it’s going to look very good for Brown that he’s taking steps to correct his behavior. Besides, experts always say people with issues need to get to rehab, regardless of what their pretense might be.

The case against Chris Brown is splitting at the seams and falling apart. Many of the witnesses to the altercation have given conflicting reports to the police, and upon further review, the alleged victim’s injuries might not be as serious as originally suspected. In response, the district attorney has decided to reduce the assault charge from a felony to a misdemeanor.

If this story seems vaguely familiar, it’s probably because we’ve all heard it before. Remember when Brown ran into a woman’s car? Well, those charges got dropped. Remember when he exchanged fists with Frank Ocean? The other singer decided not to press charges. Remember the brawl with Drake at WIP Nightclub? No charges. Over the years, Brown has found a way to elude harsh punishments for the incidents themselves, but because of his probation from the Rihanna domestic violence case, even these slaps on the wrist always wind up being major hassles.

This newest case is another example of that. Brown was posing for a picture with some women when an altercation with an unidentified individual took place. Brown claims the man was trying to get on his bus. The man claims the singer was mad over a photobomb. Either way, the random dude wound up getting hit and headed for the hospital. Brown was initially charged with felony assault for allegedly slugging the guy in the face, but now, that’s been reduced to a misdemeanor. No matter how it plays out, there’s no way he’ll serve any real jail time for that, but it’s very likely the incident will trigger another parole violation hearing, which could send Brown to jail for up to four years, as per TMZ.

Once a man has been convicted of a pretty serious crime, it’s a whole lot harder to stay out of trouble. That’s because even the smallest incidents are deemed parole violations or examples of repeat misbehavior. That being said, the singer obviously needs to figure out a way to keep his nose clean. That starts with not being out at 4:30 AM and interacting with random people on the street who may or may not be looking for trouble.

Chris Brown’s weekend trip to Washington DC to host a party at the Park & 14th Nightclub probably sounded like a great time on paper, but in practice, it turned out to be anything but. Following the gig, the singer was on K Street outside the W Hotel when he got into some kind of altercation with a bystander. Details are still fuzzy on what exactly happened, but the hip-hop star wound up arrested and charged with felony assault.

According to TMZ, sources close to the situation are saying Brown got into an altercation with an unidentified bystander at around 4:30 AM. He was supposedly taking a picture with two women when the aforementioned bystander decided to photobomb the picture. Infuriated about those shenanigans, Brown allegedly said, “I’m not into this gay shit. I’m into boxing” and then sucker punched the random dude in the face.

Cops were called to the scene immediately, and the alleged victim, who did not punch back, was taken to a local hospital where he was diagnosed with a broken nose, which might require surgery. After interviewing witnesses on the scene, Brown was hauled off to jail and hit with the assault charge. In theory, that could violate his probation and send him to jail for four years. Given how little we know about the case, however, it’s very difficult to know how this might play out.

Brown hasn’t spoken on the record yet, but his on-again-off-again girlfriend Karrueche Tran seemed to confirm the story on her Twitter account this morning…

The alleged victim in this case has already hired a lawyer. He reportedly wanted an apology from Brown at the scene, but when that didn’t happen, he moved forward with plans for a lawsuit. That obviously muddles the situation even more in terms of who to believe. In the coming days, we should find out a whole lot more once people start speaking on the record. There are very few things Chris Brown’s biggest fans and his biggest haters can agree upon, except that the pop star in question is larger than life. At just twenty-four years old, he’s already spent time behind bars, dated some of the most beautiful women in the world, sold millions of albums and pissed off damn near the entire world for being involved in one of the ugliest celebrity domestic violence incidents in recent memory. As such, it’s really hard to be blown away by anything the singer says or does anymore, but his latest reveal has still done exactly that.

Speaking to a reporter from The Guardian, Brown claimed he lost his virginity at the age of eight to a girl in the neighborhood who was supposedly fourteen or fifteen at the time. He was apparently very familiar with the mechanics from watching more than his share of pornography at the time, and he’s convinced that early encounter prepared him to be a “beast” in the bedroom.

On the one hand, it’s hard to doubt Brown because so much of what he has said has come true. He’s just a flat-out ridiculous character. Beyond that, he had a pretty hectic home life, and every single study says poor kids with stressful home lives tend to lose their v-cards more quickly. On the other hand, however, eight? Eight? And with a fourteen-year-old? That sounds like a fantasy a second grade boy would make up.

Chris Brown has been in a delicate emotional state for awhile. Being openly hated by a large segment of the population has a tendency to do that to a man. Now and again, his frustration boils over on Twitter, as it did earlier this month when he threatened to quit music, but yesterday, he took the animosity to a whole new level when he unleashed a furious series of tweets that took aim at everyone from rappers to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The series of tweets in question dropped last night, and they come hot on the heels of a judge ordering him to do 1000 additional hours of community service after questions emerged as to whether he actually completed his original hours. Many observers are blaming Brown himself for the snafu, but he clearly holds someone else responsible.

I get Brown’s frustrations with the legal system and frustrations with how he feels he’s being treated. I’m not sure a fender bender in which the victim didn’t want to press charges was really a good enough reason to take him up on a parole violation. Brown needs to understand, however, that every time he explodes and goes off publically like this that he’s only giving his critics more ammunition, as well as further severing his relationship with the LAPD and District Attorney’s Office. It might feel good momentarily to unload, but in the long run, it’s a bad decision.

Chris Brown sells a lot of music, but he’s also popular in the tabloids, for reasons that include but are not limited to beating up Rihanna, committing potential parole violations, getting into a shady car accident and starting a nightclub brawl. Recently, some of his past issues have come back to haunt him. On Friday, Brown was sentenced to 1,000 hours of community labor stemming from a recent hit and run accident that violated his parole.

You would think one of these problems may have spurred a judge to order the 1,000 hours of labor, but it was actually the car accident that Brown took responsibility for that caused the recent court date. Brown apparently hit a woman, stopped and chatted with her, and then repaired her car. Still, lawyers pressed on and although the charges were dropped, Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge James Brandlin eventually ruled that if Brown served the hours, his probation would also be reinstated.

Hopefully, the star will show up to finish the hours this time. More than a year ago, the 24-year-old performer got into some heat with the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office who encountered discrepancies with the times and dates of some community hours he supposedly served. The office found that Brown had described dates where he said he had volunteered, but was actually on the road and sometimes even out of the country performing. The District Attorney’s office underwent an investigation and later found that the star was only escorted to community service on several occasions. The Richmond police chief who approved Brown’s ‘fulfilled ‘ community service hours eventually even resigned from his position.

CNN was quick to note that Judge Brandlin would not take sides when past records of service were brought up. Still, this time around, Brown will have to accomplish hours of actual hard labor, which includes beach cleanup or even working for Caltrans, the agency responsible for highway maintenance, etc. Assumedly, the police in the LA area will also keep a closer watch on the young man’s work hours this time around.

Hard labor is actually a pretty big punishment, but it is not nearly as bad as it could have been for the singer. If probation had not been reinstated, Brown could have faced four years of jail time related to the domestic violence charge police slapped him with after Rihanna was hit. He also failed a drug test during probation, which could have contributed to actual jail time served. All in all, things weren’t looking good for the 24-year-old, and he’s lucky he got off as cleanly as he did. Now, he’ll really have to stick to the terms of his probation if he wants to avoid the courts any further.

Remember that time Chris Brown and Frank Ocean threw fists at each other during a brawl over a parking spot in West Hollywood? Ocean may have decided to let the matter drop, but apparently, his cousin isn’t so willing to forgive. This week, Sha-Keir Duarte procured an attorney and filed a lawsuit seeking unspecified monetary damages related to the beating he allegedly suffered during the much-publicized altercation.

According to TMZ, Duarte claims one of Brown’s bodyguards, a man named “Hood”, kicked him more than a dozen times in the stomach and several times in the head. Brown apparently wasn’t part of the actual attack, but he allegedly screamed, “Get that nigger!” during the altercation and mocked the supposed victim while he was motionless on the ground. If Duarte is to be believed, the attack permanently disabled him, and he should be compensated for his pain and suffering. Exactly how he might be disabled is unclear.

Of course, that’s Duarte’s version of events. Not surprisingly, Brown has his own take on the brouhaha. His publicist released a statement this afternoon denying the pop star employs any bodyguard nicknamed “Hood”. Considering he also denied being responsible for the brawl at the time, there’s no way in hell he’ll have any part of making a deal, which means we could be in for quite a legal showdown in the months ahead that could involve court testimony from both Brown and Ocean.

On the one hand, it’s easy to believe Brown is responsible for what happened. Not only has he been at the center of numerous violent confrontations in the past, we know for a fact that an altercation did happen between his entourage and Ocean’s entourage on the date in question. As such, it’s not exactly a big leap to believe one of Brown’s hired bodyguards laid a beating on Ocean’s cousin during the fight.

On the other hand, however, it seems really suspect that Duarte is suddenly coming forward with these injuries now. It’s been months since the fight happened, and at the time, there weren’t any reports of someone being permanently disabled. In fact, Ocean declined to press charges, and it’s really hard to imagine he would refuse to press charges if his cousin was truly beaten that badly. Besides, the supposed victim could just as easily have told the police to press charges on his own. There’s no law that says a random dude can’t tell the police he was beaten by a celeb’s bodyguard.

There were some tense moments immediately afterwards while employees called 911, but by the time paramedics arrived, he was moving around and feeling a whole lot better. In fact, he refused any medical treatment and wanted no part of going to the hospital. Eventually, he did check in with a physician, and if the diagnosis released publically is to be believed, the musician’s haters bare at least a little responsibility for what happened.

I’m not going to defend Brown’s actions. He hit a woman, and he’s behaved like a douche bag for years. It’s understandable why so many people completely despise him, but that doesn’t mean it feels particularly good to be in his position. He made a colossal fuck-up when he was eighteen-years-old, and he’s had to relive it every single day ever since. Yes, he might have millions of dollars and some hit records, but there is a significant percentage of people in this country who will forever think he’s a scumbag. Obviously, that toll has weighed heavily on him.

Chris Brown was working on some music early this morning in Hollywood when a 911 call was placed from Record Planet. The caller told police the popular musician had suffered a seizure, but by the time paramedics arrived, he was reportedly up and about and didn’t want any part of an examination.

According to TMZ, the call came in at 1:09 AM. Beyond that, very few specifics are actually known. Brown hasn’t spoken publically about the incident, and no one else near the situation is talking, at least in anything other than the vaguest of terms.

There are reports Brown may have suffered from some seizure problems as a child. Given his unwillingness to accept medical treatment, that would make a ton of sense. I’m pretty sure if most people had a seizure for the first time, they’d trip over themselves trying to get to a hospital, whereas if someone was used to it, they might decide to walk it off and continue recording. Since he hasn’t commented on his medical history or this incident, however, it’s impossible to know exactly what happened.

Regardless, Brown has been under an incredible amount of stress lately. He’s currently dealing with a frustrating possible probation violation case over a fender bender accident, and just three days ago, he admitted that he might quit music because of how much hatred and negativity he deals with on a regular basis. All of that has definitely taken a toll on his body, but whether or not that’s directly related to what happened last night isn’t a question anyone other than a doctor could answer.

Pop Blend’s sincerest thoughts go out to Brown during this troubling time. It’s easy to see why he didn’t want to head to the hospital, but for his sake and that of all who love him, I truly hope he reconsiders. Visiting a doctor might be a serious annoyance, but it can also prevent a minor problem from progressively getting worse.

More than four years ago, Chris Brown was involved in a disturbing domestic violence incident with his then girlfriend Rihanna. In the time since, a very high percentage of Americans have fallen in love with hating him. From neck tattoos to graffiti on his house to a seemingly endless series of bizarre incidents, he’s given his haters plenty of ammunition too, but if his latest tweets are to be believed, the collective rage may finally be weighing on him.

Brown took to his Twitter account this morning to sound off on such musings and to think about a future in which he might step onto a different path. You can take a look at the comments in question below…

This is where being a celebrity gets extremely dicey. Clearly, no one in the general public wants to condone domestic violence. Brown deserved to feel the general public’s wrath in response to what he did, but at what point should that stop? At what point should we step back and let him work? It’s not as if we refuse normal people who have been convicted of domestic violence of the right to find employment.

Brown is currently working his way through a possible parole violation related to a hit and run accident. The initial charges for failing to provide a driver’s license and giving improper insurance have been dropped, and the woman whose car was nudged no longer wants to press charges. That being said, the District Attorney’s Office is still moving forward, which resulted in Brown having to surrender himself earlier this week, only to be released an hour later, as per MTV.

Given his incredible talent, I highly doubt he will decide to become a welder or a school teacher or a crossing guard after his next album is released, but it wouldn’t be a shock to see him perhaps take a break for a year to try and find himself and become a more mature person the general public might approve of a little bit more.

The hit and run case against Chris Brown is collapsing. The Los Angeles City Attorney officially dropped two of the three charges against the singer today, and thanks to a financial settlement, it now seems likely the third will fall by the wayside within a matter of days, leaving only an outstanding parole violation allegation that now appears thinner and more remote than ever.

Following an extremely minor car accident back in May, the LA City Attorney conducted a full investigation and charged Brown with hit and run, failing to provide a driver’s license and failing to provide insurance information. He stopped and talked to the woman after the fender bender, but police claimed he never showed his licensed and gave incorrect insurance information. Well, his attorney brought all the necessary paperwork for the driver’s license and insurance problems (he was covered on both counts at the time of the accident) and the woman’s car Brown hit has already been fixed. In fact, the supposed victim sent her attorney to court recently to say she doesn’t want to see anyone go to jail over something as stupid as this. Consequently, if her car is fine, and she doesn’t want charges pressed, there seems to be no point in pushing forward.

According to The Los Angeles Times, that final hit and run charge should be dropped in a matter of days, but the court is reportedly planning to push forward with the probation violation. Why? Well, remember all the rumors about Brown failing to complete his community service? Well, the LA City Attorney is apparently very confident the work was never done. So, that plus a failed drug test could be enough to send the singer to jail for the four years he would owe because of the domestic violence incident with Rihanna.

Right now, any talk of jail time is very premature. It seems likely the judge will take into account all of these dropped charges and possibly even conclude the State is on a fishing expedition to try and find reasons to send him to jail. Maybe that’s true. Maybe it isn’t. We really have no way of knowing what their motivations are, but if the DA was so hellbent on him doing time, he should have made him serve more jail time when the original domestic violence case came up. After all, it kind of seems stupid to send Brown to jail over for four years over some minor infractions.

It was a mixed bag in court today for Chris Brown. The hit musician was on hand to fight the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s request to revoke his probation, and while he lost that particular fight, his attorney was able to convince the judge to keep his client out of jail until the actual probation violation hearing, which won’t happen until August.

That legal wrangling might sound strange since Brown hasn’t actually been convicted of another crime, but there’s apparently a whole lot of elements that go into deciding whether or not to revoke someone’s probation. I’ll flip it over to CB Legal Expert Brent Randall to explain what happened and why…

The probation itself traces its way all the way back to the much-discussed incident of domestic violence with Rihanna, but the violation that supposedly occurred goes back to the aforementioned hit & run. Brown was out driving with on-again-off-again girlfriend Karrueche Tran back in May when he got into a very minor accident. He stopped immediately, got out of the car and exchanged insurance information (even though there was no damage), but after the police arrived, the victim allegedly told authorities Brown refused to show his license and gave her invalid insurance information. He’s since denied those claims vigorously, but that hasn’t stopped the D.A. from attacking this case aggressively, despite the fact that the woman whose car was hit doesn’t want Brown to go to jail. According to TMZ, she’s been really vocal about it too, even sending her own lawyer to try and help Brown in court today.

Ordinarily, I’m not exactly Brown’s biggest defender. He’s made more than his share of mistakes in his life, but it seems to me that if he doesn’t want to go to jail and the victim doesn’t want him to go to jail, then the police would be better off just letting this matter go. After all, this whole thing traces its way back to a car accident that didn’t cause any injuries or any discernable property damage. It was less than a fender bender, and yet, if he winds up losing his probation violation hearing, he could go to jail for four years. Four years!

It’s been a rough week for Chris Brown. A day after being accused of throwing a woman to the ground inside a nightclub, the pop star was blindsided by the Los Angeles City Attorney with two charges related to a car accident that happened in Toluca Lake last month.

The incident in question first seemed pretty innocuous. Brown hit another woman’s vehicle while traveling at a very low rate of speed, and everyone involved go out and exchanged insurance information. Later, however, the woman claimed Brown refused to turn over his driver’s license and gave her fraudulent insurance information, both of which are illegal.

According to TMZ, the LA City Attorney has been reviewing the case for the past month, and recently, prosecutors decided there was enough evidence to formally charge Brown with leaving the scene of an accident without exchanging proper information and driving without a valid license. Ordinarily, those two charges wouldn’t amount to much more than a slap on the wrist, but given the musician’s probation problems, it could trigger a violation which would send him to jail.

Brown, of course, vehemently disagrees with the story that’s been put forward, and he took to his Twitter to lay out his point of view in pretty clear detail earlier today. You can take a look at his words below…

In case if you were wondering, 2 Corinthians 12:10 is the verse about delighting in hardships because strength comes from weakness. Clearly, if Brown really did turn over the correct insurance info, he has every reason to be beyond angry and pissed off right now, but I suppose we’ll just have to wait and see whether prosecutors have evidence that goes beyond the words of one woman who wasn’t overly pleased when her car was hit.

If so, it would be a violation of his probation and a potential reason to send him to jail for up to four years. Just as soon as those whispers started flowing, however, those closet to Brown reached out to TMZ to say the opposite. Apparently, Brown’s camp is claiming it’s actually the woman who has been super shady. They’re arguing there wasn’t any damage to either car, and when Brown’s attorney contacted the woman about the accident, she promptly hung up on him.

On the one hand, Brown doesn’t have the world’s greatest reputation for honesty and wise decision-making. He’s made more than his share of mistakes, and he’s definitely not the easiest person to believe. On the other hand, however, it’s hard to see why he would refuse to turn over his driver’s license during a completely routine accident. After all, there’s no way he thought he could actually trick anyone given his fame level. As for the woman, it’s possible she doesn’t want to talk to Brown’s attorney until she hires one of her own.

Last week, Chris Brown’s car accident attracted a ton of media attention, mostly because the singer’s ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran was also in the car, but if the latest rumors are to be believed, her presence was far from the most interesting thing related to the accident. Apparently, Brown wasn’t exactly the epitome of friendliness to the woman whose car he ran into, and he allegedly didn’t even give her his legitimate insurance information.

According to TMZ, it’s a law that you must turn over your driver’s license number and insurance information when you get into an accident. Brown, however, allegedly refused to show the woman his license and gave her fraudulent insurance information, which, if true, is poor form legally and morally. Ordinarily, such an issue would only be a slap on the wrist, but because of Brown’s extensive record and his probation issues, this could wind up being a far bigger scenario. After all, the terms of Brown’s probation require that he abide by all laws, and if he’s caught not abiding by all laws, he could technically be sent to jail for four entire years.

Given all the public issues Brown has had, it seems ridiculous that this minor fender-bender could be what lands him in prison. That being said, it’s unclear why the pop star would lie about something as stupid as his insurance information. He’s clearly too famous to get away with not paying. In fact, there were photographers on the scene at the time taking pictures of him.

Earlier today, Chris Brown got into an accident while driving his car in the Toluca Lake area of Los Angeles. Considering there wasn’t a whole lot of damage to either his vehicle or the woman’s he hit and considering neither party tried to do anything shady like drive off without exchanging information, there’s really nothing consequential about the crash, except for one minor detail.

According to TMZ, Brown was in the car with his former long-term girlfriend Karrueche Tran. She, of course, was given the heave-ho by the pop star in October of last year so he could pursue a rekindling of his relationship with Rihanna. That general process went well for awhile, but with numerous problems with her over the past few months, he’s apparently started hanging out with Tran again.

That’s not a huge shock. Rumors over the past few weeks have speculated the two might be hanging out again, but this is the first real definitive proof that the two are spending a lot of time together. After all, exs might meet as friends for dinner on rare occasions, but they don’t typically just go driving through the city together in the middle of the day unless something is going on.

Chris Brown isn’t famous for being the world’s easiest person to get along with. In fact, his troubled past famously includes a domestic abuse charge from pop singer Rihanna and a feud with Frank Ocean over a parking space. Oh yeah, and club brawl with Drake. However, now the rapper has managed to piss off many of the residents of his own neighborhood by painting an obnoxious mural on the wall of a building.

Brown’s formerly lovely home is located in Hollywood Hills in a nice area. Recently, large murals running from the ground all the way up the second story of Brown’s building were put into place and the images are disturbing plenty of the neighbors—especially those with children. The murals are large and bright, but they depict creepy, large-eyed creatures that are strange monsters on the walls. Not only is the wall graffiti loud, it also goes against a city ordinance. According to the LA Times, after several complaints, the city took action, fining Brown a sum of $376.32. That may seem like chump change for the successful rapper, but it is only a first step to forcing the murals to be painted over or taken down.

If Brown doesn’t pay the citation for “unpermitted and excessive signage,” the rapper could face fines up to three times as much as the one listed above. Councilman Tom LaBonge defends the city’s decision to cite Brown for the artwork, because while murals are allowed throughout Los Angeles proper, that normally doesn’t include residential zones.

Hopefully, Brown will just take down the artwork and end this random brouhaha. However, with the 24-year-old’s track record and his trouble with authority figures, I’m not holding my breath.

Over the years, so many celebrities, fans and critics have condemned Chris Brown and Rihanna’s on-again-off-again relationship that another one doing it normally wouldn’t be news, but considering the latest person to fire some warning shots is Brown’s own father, the words are attracting quite a bit of attention. Apparently, Clinton Brown, who split from Brown’s mother more than fifteen years ago but remains a part of the singer’s life, doesn’t understand why the two got back together and is extremely worried the romance will end in tragedy.

Clinton says Rihanna has been nothing but sweet whenever they’ve met or interacted, but based on her behavior, it’s clear she’s a life of the party type, spontaneous and whimsical girl. Chris obviously enjoys the nightlife too, which is why he seems them as far too similar. That's why when they get together, there's a tendency for explosive fights. As for who he would like his son to be with instead, Clinton isn’t extremely picky, but he apparently was a huge fan of Jordin Sparks, who he always considered “wholesome”.

Brown and Rihanna’s numerous personal problems have been very well documented. The reasons to be skeptical or worrisome about them being together are numerous. That being said, since they are together, we all might as well root for the best. Just because a relationship has the potential to end in tragedy doesn’t mean it will end in tragedy. Fingers crossed that’s the case for these two.

When referencing Chris Brown's recent interview on Today, EW points out that April 1 probably wasn't the best day Brown might want to open up about his spotty history (to put it mildly) and admit that what he did was "totally wrong" with regards to the brutality incident with his girlfriend Rihanna back in 2009. With that said, he appears to be completely serious in his apology and admission of fault, only laughing nervously a few times in his interview with Matt Lauer on the talk show today.

Brown was openly willing to discuss the felony he was convicted of in 2009, as well as how the public might perceive his new attitude. "I think everybody is entitled to their opinion. For me, it's just a learning process," Brown said, when Lauer casually called him out for some of his recent shenanigans, and referenced the cynics that might think this newfound display of remorse might be closely tied to the release of his new album. "I have to just take it one day at a time. I can't make everybody like me. I think, for my album, and what I'm promoting as far as the single or whatever it is, it's just about me being positive. And everything I'm doing with my music is hopefully to inspire the world and inspire people that have been in my situation, or even anybody who's trying to learn from me."

Lauer makes a good point in suggesting that many people might reserve final judgment on Brown's attempt to be humble and remorseful until after the album drops and some time has past. Given Brown's run-ins with the law, not to mention the abuse on his girlfriend in 2009, actions will most definitely speak louder than words in his case, and it's not unreasonable that people might want to reserve forgiveness over his past indiscretions until he's proven he's genuinely changing and overcoming his issues. At 23 years old, he still has time to change his image and his character if he wants to. The optimist in me hopes he does.

Earlier this week, Chris Brown was hanging out at the Emerson Theater in Hollywood when the DJ called him over and asked if he wanted to say a few words to the crowd or sing something. Like a good sport, the pop star responded by taking the mic and freestyling a little bit. It should have been a goofy and enjoyable moment of good press, but unfortunately, it wound up being anything but thanks to his chosen topic.

Like everything else Brown does, reaction to the above video has been mixed. Some see it as nothing more than a goofy and harmless piece of fun. He’s obviously not shouting or being belligerent about it. In fact, he’s singing the advice in a pretty high key. Others, however, see it as just the latest piece of evidence of how misinformed and dangerous Brown’s worldview is. He's had domestic violence issues in the past, and that history makes it a little harder to small about any opinion that could come off as controlling.

Chris Brown has been hearing it from a variety of angles today after a video emerged showing him screaming at a charity event valet over $10, but if the latest rumors are to be believed, he may have actually wronged someone far more than the valet. Apparently, he left his own bodyguard stranded in Bermuda after they got into an argument on the singer’s private plane.

The story, which has not been confirmed publically by anyone involved, was first reported by the Bermuda Sun. The bodyguard in question, aptly named Big Pat, has worked for Brown for years. He even took a bottle off the head during the infamous altercation with Drake. After leaving the plane, he reportedly told a custom’s official that he’d gotten into a disagreement with Brown and would need to re-enter the airport and book a flight back to the United States. He allegedly did so on Jet Blue and later arrived safely in New York City.

On the one hand, it’s easy to think Brown actually left poor Big Pat. He’s made more than a few impulsive decisions in his day, and it’s hard to imagine someone just making this up out of the blue. Then again, leaving a bodyguard, especially one who has served for a long time, in a foreign country is a serious dick mood, and no one has ever accused Brown of mistreating his friends. Plus, no one involved has actually spoken about the incident.

Earlier this week, Brown attended a charity event at a Los Angeles area bowling alley to help support inner-city youth. In theory, it should have been a nice photo opportunity to show the singer’s dedication to the community, but unfortunately, thanks to a run-in with the valet, it has many asking the same dubious questions about Brown they’ve been asking for years.

Details on what exactly happened are still a little fuzzy, but apparently, the singer parked his car with the valet and went inside for roughly thirty minutes. When he came back, the valet asked him for the $10 fee, and Brown he heard other people had been charged $5. The alteration turned into an argument which turned into a shouting match, and TMZ was able to obtain a video of what happened. You can check it out below…

Is having to pay a valet to go to a charity event annoying? Yes, it certainly is. Brown had every right to be agitated, but this is obviously not the right way to respond. This valet has no control over what his bosses have decided to charge. He’s just doing his job, and he deserves to be able to do it without harassment and threats.

I’m not sure any actual crime was committed here, but if the city of Los Angeles does decide to violate Brown’s probation for allegedly blowing off his community service hours, no doubt this tape will be presented in evidence as one of the many reasons the singer still has a lot of growing up to do.

Last weekend, Chris Brown and Rihanna spent time together at the Grammys in full view of the cameras, and the on-again couple seemed to be getting along great. They were affectionate, talked almost constantly and left together at the end of the night. This week, however, has been another matter entirely, and it’s leading many to wonder if the two actually brought their once again budding romance to an end.

According to The Daily Mail, Brown and Rihanna both attended Popular Demand’s one-year anniversary party on Wednesday night. They arrived separately, and when Rihanna was asked if she wanted to sit by Brown, she reportedly told the host no. In fact, sources close to the situation say she and Brown had no idea they were both going to the party and stayed on completely opposite sides of the room during the entire evening.

Any couple can fight for a single night, but apparently, Rihanna and Brown spent Valentine’s Day apart too, which is typically a horrible sign. More often than not, even couples who aren’t getting along try to make it work on Valentine’s Day. These two, however, got up to completely separate activities.

All the recent hoopla has led some to wonder whether this is finally what Rihanna needed to get over Brown once and for all. Between the fights, the sordid history, the rumors Brown might be hanging out with his ex-girlfriend, his alleged lack of community service participation and whatever behind the scenes argument just happened, she may have finally decided enough was enough. Since their infamous nightclub brawl that left numerous people injured and WIP briefly closed and absent a liquor license, Drake and Chris Brown have avoided going after each other in court, apparently both content to let the matter slowly drift away. Unfortunately, a new lawsuit has ended their unspoken truce, and now, the gloves have come off and litigious right crosses have been fired.

According to TMZ, French model Romain Julien filed a lawsuit against WIP, Brown and Drake over injuries he allegedly suffered after all hell broke loose. Executives at WIP have previously said Drake and Brown should pay for the mess they caused, and now, attorneys for the two musicians have filed paperwork pointing the finger at the other party. Each feels the other man was more at fault for what happened and therefore should pay any lawsuits that have come from the scary incident.

It’s no surprise Drake and Brown have decided to lay blame at each other's feet over what happened, but if tensions in this case get a little heated, the two of them could potentially wind up suing each other for their personal injuries, which would be an answer to tabloid prayers around the world.

Bryan Norwood, the Richmond police chief who wrote a letter to the court in Los Angeles claiming Chris Brown completed his community service, abruptly resigned from his post this morning, just days after questions were raised as to whether the pop star actually did work at a local children’s club. Norwood will be replaced by retired former assistant police chief Ray J Terasovic starting tomorrow, though exactly how much of a role this whole Brown mess played is unclear.

A source close to the situation told TMZ there have been rumblings within the department for weeks that Norwood might leave for a similar job in Raleigh, North Carolina. Once this Brown scandal came up, the whispers reportedly got louder until the mayor and the now ex-police chief mutually decided to go in separate directions.

Brown is due back in court in April to answer for allegedly blowing off his community service. In the meantime, he’s supposed to meet with his parole officer in order to offer any proof he has that he actually completed the dates. No doubt this resignation won’t help his case in the slightest, but if he’s able to document any kind of evidence beyond Norwood’s initial letter, he should be fine. Otherwise, he could be looking at a potential probation violation, more community service and/ or a short stint in jail.

Musicians and actors may show up to award ceremonies hoping to win, but an overwhelming majority of them are still able to paste on a smile and politely applaud even if they lose. Unfortunately for Chris Brown, he’s apparently not among the most. He was bested earlier this evening in the “Best Urban Contemporary Album” category by the man he recently brawled with, Frank Ocean, and he wound up being one of the only people in the entire audience who didn’t stand up.

Immediately prior to Ocean’s win, each nominee in the category was announced, and unfortunately for Brown, he didn’t exactly receive a whole lot of applause from his fellow attendees. Thus, observers aren’t sure whether he was responding to the chilly reception, his supreme dislike for losing to Frank Ocean of all people or some combination of both. Regardless, it’s just the latest in a long series of less than flattering moments for the pop star.

Over the past few years, Brown has made it very clear that he feels persecuted by people. No doubt he wasn’t pleased at all about not getting a huge round of applause today, but what he needs to realize is these little gestures only make his situation worse.

One day after Chris Brown crashed his car into a wall and blamed reckless photographers for causing him to lose control over the vehicle, those very same members of the paparazzi have publically denied his story. If their version of events is to be believed, none of the photographers were even there when he crashed. They supposedly showed up afterwards to take pictures of it and were thrown under the bus by Brown because he didn’t want to take responsibility for his own actions.

The police issued a statement confirming the accident after it happened and saying Brown blamed the photographers, but they have not announced whether or not they believe the pop star’s story. Everyone at the scene was interviewed, and the investigation is still very much an ongoing matter.

In recent hours, Brown’s representative announced his client’s intentions to try and seek criminal charges and potentially file a lawsuit. Humorously, it was Frank Ocean’s recent decision not to press charges that saved Brown plenty of headaches and a possible parole violation, but I guess no one ever explained the concept of paying it forward to the singer.

If this does result in a lawsuit, expect plenty of public finger-pointing and a larger conversation about the paparazzi.

The Chris Brown negative publicity train continues to chug forward. Earlier today, the Los Angeles District Attorney submitted paperwork to violate the pop star’s probation for lying about the number of community service hours he performed. Last year, the Chief of Police in Richmond, Virginia sent along a letter to the powers that be in Los Angeles saying Brown had finished 202 days of community service, twenty-two more than he was required to perform. If the DA is to be believed, however, that number was a gigantic overshot because he may have actually done as few as 10 days of service.

According to TMZ, Brown told the court he did most of his work at the Tappahannock Children’s Center where his mom was once an employee. He supposedly cut the grass, picked up trash, washed the windows and waxed the floors, but when the District Attorney looked into the specifics, the story slowly started falling apart. Many of the days Brown listed on his timecard coincided with concerts he had out of state or out of the country. One of the administrators of Tappahannock told the DA she never saw Brown a single time, and after being questioned, the Richmond Police Department admitted they only accompanied Brown to his community service hours 9 or 10 times. The rest of the supposed hours of service were claimed by Brown’s mother.

As per the DA’s request to violate his probation, this mess is either the product of inept and sloppy record keeping or Brown refusing to accomplish even a healthy percentage of his community service and convincing a few others to lie for him. Thus far, the singer hasn’t commented publically, but when he does, we’ll let you know what he has to say.

Last week, Frank Ocean decided not to make his fight with Chris Brown a legal matter and withdrew his request to press charges against the troubled singer. After careful consideration, he decided to take the high road and push toward peace rather than vengeance. Unfortunately for WIP Nightclub, San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker does not feel the same way. He just updated his pending lawsuit over the Brown/ Drake fight to include this latest brouhaha.

According to TMZ, Parker and his attorneys are trying to make the case that Brown never should have been let into the nightclub prior to the now infamous brawl. In order to help illustrate their point, their filing includes a laundry list of the pop star’s previous offenses including his domestic violence incident with Rihanna. This Ocean fight obviously shows a continuation of that pattern, but since it happened after, I’m not sure it will really affect the outcome of the case at all.

The brawl in question occurred last summer. Drake and Brown reportedly got into some kind of confrontation over Rihanna, someone threw a bottle and the whole place devolved into chaos. Parker was struck in the eye by a shard of glass and was forced to go to the hospital. He later filed this twenty million dollar lawsuit against the club.

Frank Ocean was initially pumped about pressing charges against Chris Brown over the parking space brawl they had earlier this week, but upon further review, he’s apparently decided to take the high road. The singer announced today that he will neither sue nor testify against his alleged attacker for the sake of forgiveness and peace.

With no long-term injuries, it’s understandable and even admirable that Ocean would rather simply move on from this situation than waste months in a court room either trying to gain money or justice. That being said, there’s still a possibility this won’t be the last we hear about this case. The skirmish reportedly broke plenty of nice things inside the record studio, and someone is going to need to pay for the damage done. Given Ocean and Brown both have money, however, hopefully, they’ll take care of that amongst themselves and put this whole mess behind them.

Pop Blend’s sincerest well-wishes go out to Ocean for choosing civility over vengeance. Fingers crossed Brown decides the same thing.

After months of hinting at a renewed romantic relationship with Chris Brown, Rihanna has finally gone on the record and admitted what we’ve all been well aware of. She and the pop star are officially back together, and while she’s well aware a sizeable percentage of people disapprove, she just doesn’t care anymore.

At least that’s what she told Rolling Stone in a new interview that’ll run in the latest issue of the magazine to be released tomorrow. You can check out an extended quote from the sitdown below…

According to Rihanna, her relationship with Brown has apparently evolved quite a bit since the infamous domestic violence incident back in 2009. They used to be very combative and had a ton of explosive arguments, but now they’re apparently much more relaxed and willing to “talk about shit”.

Given what happened before, however, she’s ready to bolt if even the slightest hint of abusive behavior rears its ugly head again.

Earlier this week, Brown got into a brawl outside of a West Hollywood area recording studio with Frank Ocean. This interview was probably given before that happened, but since Rihanna hasn’t commented publically on it, the brouhaha doesn’t seem to be a deal breaker.

Mark Geragos may have instructed his client, Chris Brown, to flee the scene of the Frank Ocean fight to prevent further incident, but I’m pretty sure he didn’t tell him to go home and publically compare himself to Jesus Christ of Nazareth. That’s exactly what he did though, and as John Lennon found out almost fifty years ago, that’s not necessarily the ideal public relations road to take.

Brown has been very upfront since the domestic violence incident with Rihanna about how he feels persecuted by the media. Whether some people are out to get him or not, he just keeps giving them ammunition to fire. Between the bottle throwing mess with Drake and breaking shit at Good Morning America, he shouldn’t be surprised a high percentage of people think he was the aggressor in this Frank Ocean fight.

Beyond this Jesus analogy, Brown hasn’t commented publically about throwing fists with Ocean, but he was spotted out and about today with his right hand in a cast, meaning he definitely connected his knuckles with something in the past few days.

A supposedly unbiased witness to the mayhem told TMZ Chris fired the first punch after Frank refused to shake his hand, but the police are still investigating and haven’t even interviewed Brown yet.
