The latest episode of The Voice to air on the 2025 TV schedule recapped all of the performances that got us to where we are in this season's competition, and when the show returns April 28, it’ll be time for the Playoffs. The Voice coaches will have some help, as Sheryl Crow and LeAnn Rimes have been pegged as Mega Mentors, and it turns out the “All I Wanna Do” singer almost had a much larger role in the singing competition’s earlier days.

Adam Levine — who has made his comeback to The Voice’s Big Red Chairs for Season 27 — was among the OG coaching panel, along with Blake Shelton, Christina Aguilera and CeeLo Green. However, it seems the lineup almost included Sheryl Crow, who revealed per People that she was offered a spot but had to turn it down due to her family’s circumstances. She said:

Well, one certainly can’t blame her for wanting to maintain the lovely normalcy she was enjoying in Nashville. Now that her kids are older — Levi is 14, and her older son Wyatt is 18 — she was able to answer The Voice’s call.

In my very humble opinion, I think it all worked out for the best. I’m assuming Sheryl Crow would have taken the spot that was ultimately filled by Christina Aguilera, and I absolutely loved how fierce the “Dirrty” singer was as a coach.

Xtina also contributed to one of The Voice’s wildest moments when it became obvious she had a distaste for Season 2 Team Adam member Tony Lucca — who she knew from their days on the Mickey Mouse Club.

Sheryl Crow wasn’t the only iconic musician to turn down The Voice ahead of its 2011 premiere. Reba McEntire was offered first dibs on the chair that ended up going to Blake Shelton. I’d say that worked out OK too, given that Shelton turned into one of NBC’s biggest stars.

Now Blake Shelton, Christina Aguilera and Reba McEntire have all come and gone, and Sheryl Crow will make her triumphant debut.

The “If It Makes You Happy” singer will serve as the mentor for Michael Bublé and Kelsea Ballerini’s teams, while LeAnn Rimes will assist Adam Levine and John Legend. All five members of each team will perform in the Playoffs, with the coaches choosing just two apiece to advance to the Live Semifinals.

Adam Levine said the Knockouts are the hardest round of the competition, but the last time he was on The Voice, the Playoffs did not require coaches to eliminate over half of their teams in one fell swoop, so I fully expect him to change his stance on that next week.

Jessica Simpson got her start in music by performing in church choirs, whereas Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera showed off their talents on The Mickey Mouse Club. That childhood fame made it easy for the two to launch their careers early on with Spears’ …Baby One More Time and Aguilera’s Genie in a Bottle. During Jessica Simpson’s interview with Rolling Stone, she admitted that she knew competing with her peers would be an uphill battle:

I truly feel where Jessica Simpson is coming from. Since the former reality TV star came onto the music scene a little later with her debut album Sweet Kisses in 1999, her work was often compared to Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera’s choreography-charged big numbers. The two pop singers were also constantly topping the Billboard Top 100, whereas Simpson never had a Billboard Top 100 #1 single. By the time Simpson achieved sex symbol status with her second album Irresistible, Spears and Aguilera were already pushing the boundaries of the pop genre with their edgier images.

It also didn’t help that the That '70s Show alum was constantly mistaken for Spears. That even got to the point where a fan asked Simpson for an autograph, expecting to see a “Britney Spears” signature. While the similarities are apparent as the two are both Southern blondes with musical talent, I can see how frustrating that can be when you’re trying to make a name for yourself in a very competitive business.

While Jessica Simpson became well-known for her music, her true fame came from her and now-ex-husband, Nick Lachey’s, reality TV show, Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica. This sadly tacked Simpson with the “dumb blonde” trope based on her iconic reality show moment when she didn’t know if the tuna she was eating was fish or chicken. Simpson’s weight was also widely discussed, specifically in regard to whether she gained or lost 100 lbs.

Fortunately, after 17 years, Jessica Simpson is returning to music, though is shying away from pop. Nashville Canyon: Part I is more Americana and is inspired rock, country, and soul. All in all, it would seem that Simpson is enjoying this era in her career. One would think that a freedom to produce the kind of music she's passionate about and fact that she's no longer directly competing with Britney Spears or Christina Aguilera play into that. Christina Aguilera has been a popstar sensation ever since she was a teen singer on Disney Channel’s The All-New Mickey Mouse Club. From then on, she’s released nine best-selling albums, made her film debut in Burlesque, and was a judge on The Voice for five seasons. But the Grammy winner is fully aware of being compared to this generation’s new pop sensation in Sabrina Carpenter, and reveals one upcoming “full circle” connection that makes the two even more alike.

Sabrina Carpenter has been a real powerhouse in the music industry as her latest album “Short n’ Sweet” had an excellent debut in the Billboard 200 chart. Her career starts are very similar to another pop star who dominated the charts in the late 1990s: Christina Aguilera. The “What a Girl Wants” singer isn’t oblivious to her comparisons to the 25-year-old singer and said this about Carpenter for TIME 100 Next:

It’s true that Sabrina Carpenter also had a big history with Disney. Her first piece of music was in the Disney album “Disney Fairies: Faith, Trust, and Pixie Dust” singing “Smile.” Carpenter also made her acting breakthrough playing Maya in the Boy Meets World sequel Girl Meets World for three seasons, available on your Disney+ subscription.

That still wasn’t the end of the “Espresso” singer’s Disney career as she starred in Disney movies like Clouds and Adventures in Babysitting as well as released singles on plenty of DCOMs. But despite her start on the squeaky clean network, Carpenter has really shaped her adult career as a singer like just Christina Aguilera did.

The similarities between Christina Aguilera and Sabrina Carpenter are clear with both having Disney starts, versatility in musical genres, selling out concerts and albums, and a big influence on young fans. Not to mention, the two also have Christmas-themed albums with the “Please Please Please” singer about to have her own Christmas special on your Netflix subscription. However, there’s one mindblowing similarity between the two singers that Aguilera says will bring the comparisons into “full circle:”

It’s officially been 25 years since Christina Aguilera’s debut single “Genie In The Bottle” hit radio stations and became one of the biggest earworms of 1999 and the Y2K era (which is all the rage with celebs like Jessica Biel these days). Along with continuing to be a massive global pop star, Aguilera is also now a 43-year-old mother of two who has gained perspective on what it’s like to have a lot of eyeballs and opinions about her and her body.

When Aguilera first landed on the scene with her debut album, she was an 18-year-old who became known for wearing midriff-baring crop tops and low rise jeans that we saw all over the best 2000s movies about teens. As her body changed with time (which is completely normal) in front of the world, she recalls dealing with backlash. As she recently shared with Glamour:

Unfortunately for the 2000s, if you were to look back inside the pages of tabloids, you’d see stories measuring a size 6 as “fat” or commenting on the cellulite of young stars like Lindsay Lohan, Hilary Duff, and Jessica Simpson. Nowadays those stars are owning their body for how they are. Duff for instance posed nude on Women’s Health in 2022 and proclaimed how “proud” she is of her body and the peace she’s found after having three kids.

For some reason it was culturally acceptable to comment on women’s bodies in this fashion and it was incredibly harmful to a generation of women. In recent years, more of us have been reflecting on that time, often by showing examples in popular movies.

Remember when 2001’s Bridget Jones Diary lamented about being overweight for her 136 pound figure? Or when Anne Hathaway’s character was considered fat by numerous colleagues in The Devil Wears Prada. Yeah, that’s where we were. Previously, Aguilera recalled actually hating being “super skinny” in her early pop star years and being happy to fill out in her 20s even though she has her critics because of normal body shifts. Here’s how she said she handles other’s thoughts on her weight these days:

Christina Aguilera marked turning 40 in 2020 with her middle fingers up, and the singer is continuing to emulate an unbothered approach to public perception of her. In the interview, the singer also spoke about making this moment of her life about existing as “a human first before being a celebrity.” Aguilera is currently placing her main focus on her two kids, who are 16 and 10. As her children are reaching the years when she became a Mickey Mouse Club member before transitioning to pop icon, she commented on parenthood feeling like “reliving this whole thing again.”

While her home life is her top priority, Aguilera also teased her first English-language album in over six years (her last was the 2022 Spanish-language record Aguilera) is on the way. We love this empowering place the pop star has reached in her life and we can’t wait to hear the songs she’s making to go with this moment in her life.

It’s likely that when The Voice announced that Adam Levine was returning in Spring 2025, there were plenty of Blake Shelton fans who were disappointed. Of course there’s the fact that of all the OG coaches, the Maroon 5 frontman was not the one they were hoping to see again, but also Levine’s return following the cowboy’s retirement from the show robs us of more of that fun early-season bromance. However, there’s a different way to look at it — the rocker’s comeback is actually a good thing, because it puts us one step closer to the only scenario Shelton said he’d return to.

Let me be clear now: Blake Shelton has said in a dozen different ways that he’s done with The Voice and that he is happy with his choice to leave. John Legend even told us to give it up; the cowboy has ridden off into the sunset. We have learned to make our peace with why his absence is for the best.  However, IF he were to return, he has said there’s only one scenario in which that would happen. In April 2024, he told ET: 

That means, Blake stans, that in order to see the “Come Back as a Country Boy” singer come back as a country coach, Adam Levine HAS to be a part of it, so Season 27 will be a huge step in that direction.. 

So where do CeeLo Green and Christina Aguilera — the other original coaches of The Voice — stand? The Gnarls Barkley singer hasn’t appeared in a Big Red Chair since Season 5; however, he’s still very much a part of The Voice family. In addition to serving as Adam Levine’s Battle Advisor in Season 15, CeeLo performed a medley of ‘80s hits with past Team Blake members in the Season 23 finale as a tribute for Blake Shelton’s final episode.

Christina Aguilera would definitely be the harder get. The “Genie in a Bottle” singer coached on six of The Voice’s first 10 seasons, but she hasn’t made any return appearances since leaving ahead of Season 11. In addition to being the only one of the original four to not return for Blake Shelton’s sendoff, she also didn’t participate in the celebration of the singing competition’s 25th season, which saw pre-recorded messages from many former mentors. 

In 2018 she had some choice words for The Voice as she shut down a possible comeback, saying: 

She also said she hadn’t signed up for a show that would tell her that there were things she couldn’t wear and things she couldn’t say. Is this a wound that time could eventually heal? 

It might be a long shot, but Blake Shelton has put the idea out into the universe, and Adam Levine — the man responsible for some of The Voice’s wildest moments — is doing his part. 

We’ll have to wait to see what the future holds, but for now keep an eye on the 2024 TV schedule for a Season 26 premiere date, which will see Reba McEntire and Gwen Stefani welcome Snoop Dogg and Michael Bublé to the Big Red Chairs. 

When Blake Shelton took his final bow during the finale of The Voice Season 23, it seemed all but guaranteed that no member of the original coaching panel would again grace the singing competition’s Big Red Chairs. So imagine my surprise when it was announced that Adam Levine would actually be making his return to the show in 2025 for Season 27. I am so pumped to see what the Maroon 5 singer brings to the series this time around. That's because his reign on The Voice’s first 16 seasons was truly something to behold, with the rock star being involved in some of the show’s most dramatic and controversial moments.

Fans have had some strong reactions to the news of his return, and I couldn’t be more excited to see if Adam Levine will bring that DGAF attitude that contributed to some of the craziest scenes on The Voice. Let’s look at some of the singer’s most memorable moments, and then I’ll explain why I am so thrilled.

Adam Levine’s Wildest Moments On The Voice

Christina Aguilera Had ‘99 Problems’ With Team Adam’s Song Choice 

There was a lot of tension between Adam Levine and Christina Aguilera on Season 2, as the “What a Girl Wants” singer was pretty tough on Team Adam's Tony Lucca, whom she knew from her Mickey Mouse Club days. Things really came to a head in the finale when Lucca sang Jay-Z’s “99 Problems,” with many perceiving XTina to be the “bitch” referenced (but not sung on the NBC broadcast) in the lyrics. After Aguilera called Lucca out for choosing a song with lyrics that were “a little derogatory towards women,” with his wife and daughter in the audience, Levine defended his team member, saying:

I didn't buy what he was selling, and I’m pretty sure Christina Aguilera didn't either.

Adam Levine Hates This Country 

Another controversial moment came in The Voice’s fourth season during the live Top 8 results show. All three members of Adam Levine’s team found themselves in the bottom 4, receiving the fewest votes from the viewing audience. Despite one of his singers being announced as safe, Levine can be heard off-camera saying:

The comment was pretty clearly intended to show disappointment in how the audience’s vote played out — with two of his artists being eliminated — but many were offended by the unpatriotic sentiment anyway. Adam Levine ultimately came out with an apology, saying:

That’s not even where the controversy ends for Adam Levine, as his final stunt may have been the most jaw-dropping of all..

Adam Levine Actively Lobbies Against His Own Team Member 

It was the beginning of the end for the Maroon 5 singer in The Voice Season 15 when he faced possibly his biggest controversy yet. In the Top 10 elimination, two of Adam Levine’s team members found themselves in the bottom 3. However, 14-year-old Reagan Strange was sick and unable to perform her Instant Save song. After Team Adam’s DeAndre Nico performed “All of Me,” the coach basically threw Nico under the bus, using his time to encourage America to vote for Strange. Levine said:

The tactic worked, with Reagan Strange advancing to the next week of competition. Meanwhile, DeAndre Nico took the high road with a classy response to being eliminated, although he later said:

I’d say that’s a pretty fair assessment, and there’s no telling what DeAndre Nico thinks of Adam Levine’s upcoming return to The Voice’s coaching panel. I, however, am quite pumped.

Why I’m Excited For Adam Levine’s Return

The Voice Needs The Maroon 5 Singer’s Attitude 

You may not think Adam Levine was right to do any of the things listed above, and I’d probably agree with you on all three. However, I can’t think of one time since his exit that The Voice has made my jaw drop in a “Did that actually just happen?” way. Blake Shelton was a troll; Kelly Clarkson was hilarious; Reba McEntire is a legend. Maybe Adam Levine is the villain. Stop trying to force John Legend into feuds and let Levine be the bad guy.

The Coach Went Out On A Bum Note 

If there’s anything we love on TV more than a villain, it’s a redemption story. Adam Levine flamed out in spectacular fashion in his final seasons on The Voice. Not only were fans sick of his snide remarks, but in his final three showings, Levine failed to bring a single artist to the finale. In Season 16 his entire team was eliminated before the Semifinals. Had he lost his touch? Was America actively voting against him? I need to see how he rebounds in Season 27 after so many years away.

His Return Will Come Over Two Years After His Alleged Cheating Scandal 

Adam Levine has stayed busy with Maroon 5 over the years, but that's not why he found himself trending in 2022. The frontman made headlines after being being implicated in a cheating scandal, and I’m very curious to see if or how his bad boy, rock star persona changes in this big return to television. Will he continue to play that confrontational character that we saw in the first 16 seasons, or will we see a kinder, gentler version of the coach who’s working to rehabilitate a tarnished public image?

The big news of Adam Levine’s return in Season 27 was announced months before the 26th season premieres on the 2024 TV schedule, so fans still have quite a while to wait before they see him again. When that time comes, he’ll join veteran mentor John Legend, Michael Bublé and newcomer Kelsea Ballerini, who has appeared on The Voice in several capacities over the years.

Before that, however, fans will get to see if Reba McEntire can defend her Season 25 title against Gwen Stefani and rookie coaches Michael Bublé and Snoop Dogg, both of whom have served as mentors on past seasons.

It's hard to believe Entourage ended its eight-season run so long ago, in 2011 (not counting the less-than-well-recieved movie in 2015). For the length of the show, one thing that kept audiences coming back for more each week was the great celebrity cameos. What started as a trickle in the first season, became a flood towards the end, with big stars always showing up, usually with hilarious results. Here is our list of some of the funniest celebrity cameos on Entourage. 

Mark Wahlberg

It makes sense that Mark Wahlberg would be the first cameo on the show, appearing in the very first episode of Season 1. Entourage was (very) loosely based on his experiences in Hollywood as a young actor, and the Boogie Nights star was a producer of the show. 

David Schwimmer

A great thing about the cameos was that often the celebrities weren't afraid to poke a little fun at themselves. Take, for example, David Schwimmer's spot in the Season 6 episode "Running on E." Schwimmer sits in a pitch meeting with super agent Ari Gold's (Jeremy Piven) team and offer after offer is for the Friends star to play some sort of neurotic character for comedic effect. The frustration for Schwimmer is palpable. 

Peter Dinklage

One of the most common tropes on the show was the stars taking potshots at Ari. Ari was a character we all loved to hate, but it turns out most of the celebrities playing themselves also hated Ari. Peter Dinklage is one of those when he trades barbs with Ari at a party in the Season 2 "Sundance Kids."

John Stamos

John Stamos was the perfect type of celeb to show on Entourage. It was always fun to see how a cameo appearance might just be an opportunity to take down lovable loser Johnny Drama (Kevin Dillon). In a bit of a twist, after getting insulted by Stamos a few times, the two play an epic match of ping pong that ends predicably for Drama in the Season 7 episode "Tequila Sunrise." 

Jeffrey Tambor

Jeffrey Tambor plays a jerk like few others can in Hollywood. When he's playing a fictionalized version of himself being to jerk to his kids, it's comedy gold. Fictional life as a jerk and real life have blurred together for Tambor, but his appearance in Season 6 is still really funny. 

Matt Damon

Matt Damon takes charity very seriously, so his cameo on Entourage, in the Season 6 finale, fits perfectly. It's also a rare time that Vince (Adrian Grenier) is the one getting clowned when he tries to dodge both Damon and Bono into giving money to their charity to help children.  

Val Kilmer

Val Kilmer's guest spot on the show is a little different than most on this list. He doesn't play himself, but the role is so brief – and so funny – that it had to be included. In Season 1, the Top Gun: Maverick star plays a "sherpa" living in a giant house in Beverly Hills like a '60s hippie. 

Snoop Dogg

No one brings joy like Snoop Dogg. There is never a time when people are unhappy to see the legendary rapper show up somewhere on TV and Entourage is no exception. The brief interaction between Snoop, Vince, and Eric (Kevin Connolly), partly highlights the confusion of how to pronounce "Cannes" in the Season 4 episode "The Dream Team."

James Cameron

The Season 2 episode "Sundance Kids" really kicked the cameos on the show into overdrive and one of the best of the whole series is James Cameron. Vince is trying to land a role in his Aquaman movie, so Turtle and Drama try to help (and fail). The best part, though, is Cameron's interaction with a barista (played by This Is Us star Chrissy Metz). 

Tom Brady

Turtle (Jerry Ferrara) is a die-hard New York Giants fan, so when he meets Tom Brady at a charity golf tournament, he does what any self-respecting fan would do, he blows him off and refuses to shake his hand. It's brilliant. 

Martin Scorsese

Entourage proved just how big it was for celeb cameos when none other than Martin Scorsese appeared for a brief scene to offer Vince a role in his fictional The Great Gatsby movie in the finale of Season 5. You know you've made it when Scorsese gets involved. 

Scarlett Johansson

Season 1 ends with a big-time star appearance when the one and only Scarlett Johansson cameos on the phone with Vince, after Eric promises him to land a date with the superstar actress. It works, though it's the last time we'd see Johansson on the show. 

Stan Lee

Comic legend Stan Lee became the king of cameos with his iconic moments in the MCU universe for years, a streak that ended with his death in 2018. It's all too appropriate that we include him on this list, not only due to Lee's status as a cameo-king but because his quick role is just so funny as he can't quite place where he's seen Vince's adult film star girlfriend, Sasha Grey, before.

Lamar Odom

Entourage was replete with professional athletes throughout its run. Lamar Odom shows up pretty early in the show's run, in "An Offer Refused" in Season 2. The cameo is notable because of the way Drama gets obsessed with how men's calves look, including Odom's, which understandably freaks the NBA star out. 

Bono

Bono's appearance in the Season 6 finale is brilliant. He only appears via computer screen, as he's on a video call with Matt Damon and teams up with Damon to gang up on Vince to guilt him into getting on board with their charity. It's vintage Bono, pushing a charity but not taking himself as seriously as the world perceives him to be. 

Bobby Flay

Ari being a jerk to someone isn't a surprise, but Ari being a jerk to Bobby Flay is, pardon the pun, pure gold. Flay is great playing himself as the chef at his own restaurant, one of Ari's favorites, but the two bicker before Flay has had enough in the Season 8 episode "Whiz Kid." 

Sofia Vergara

Sofia Vergara's cameo is notable because she's not playing herself. While she herself is perfect for the role as a Colombian actress auditioning for the movie Medellin, it's funny because of how ridiculous the rest of Vince's team reacts to her. The first episode of Season 2 is one of the most unique, and funniest, of the show's run. 

M. Night Shyamalan

M. Night Shyamalan's appearance in the episode "Sorry, Harvey" in Season 4 is classic Entourage. Playing himself, he's angry at Ari for not reading his latest script and confronts the super agent to call him on it. It's the kind of cameo we've come to expect from this show, a major star fighting with Ari. 

Christina Aguilera

The Season 7 finale, "Lose Yourself" is one of the saddest of the show, for a few reasons. One is Ari throwing a lavish party for his wife to keep her from leaving him complete with Christina Aguilera singing "You Are Beautiful," only to have his wife not show.  Aguilera gets mad at Ari (naturally) and demands his Lakers playoffs tickets to keep performing. 

Adrian Peterson

NFL superstar Adrian Peterson selling a dinosaur skull. Is there anything more that needs to be said? The Season 7 episode "Tequila and Coke" has a great moment poking fun at people investing in fossils, and yes, Nic Cage gets a shout-out. 

Zac Efron

It's no surprise that Ari would be trying to steal a client from another agent, but what makes Zac Efron's cameo on Entourage so funny is his interaction with a fan while on the phone with Ari. A mom using her daughter to get Efron's autograph (and pushing for, um, more) is hilarious. 

Kanye West

Vince and his crew have no problem asking anyone for a favor. Kanye West is the victim of one of the most outlandish requests when they beg him for a ride on his private plane to France, even though Ye is headed for London in "No Cannes Do" from Season 4. The rapper is stunned and doesn't hide it, but still, who can turn down Vince? No one, not even Ye.

David Spade

David Spade is the perfect star for a cameo on Entourage. In his, he's got women on both arms and plays a total jerk. While he's surely not a jerk, he somehow has that public perception, which is what makes the cameo so much fun in the Season 8 episode titled "The Big Bang." Spade is just hilarious. 

Phil Mickelson

Phil Mickelson is clearly a good sport. Despite the show taking a shot at the pro golfer's failure at the 2006 U.S. Open, he later agreed to appear on the show, if only to show up Ari. A chance meeting on the golf course between Mickelson, and Kevin Dillon and Jerry Ferrara, led to the role. Kizmet. 

50 Cent

50 Cent makes one of the briefest cameos on the show, but it's one of the best. When he sees Turtle driving, he pulls up alongside and manages to take Turtle down a notch, despite the fancy ride he's driving in. Turtle has a rough time in his birthday episode, "One Car, Two Car, Red Car, Blue Car," from Season 6.

Aaron Sorkin

Aaron Sorkin's first cameo (he made two) on Entourage came in an episode named after him, "The Sorkin Notes" in Season 6. Sorkin is caught up in some drama in Ari's office that he wants no part of and is hilarious in a rare acting role for the writer and director. Now can we get that West Wing revival starring Sterling K. Brown that Sorkin had an idea for, please?

Dean Cain

Another very brief cameo comes from Dean Cain. The former Superman actor disrupts one of Drama's auditions, which crushes Drama, as he figures there's no one he can compete with Cain for the part. It's vintage Johnny Drama in the Season 6 episode "Scared Straight." It's another moment in which you can't help but feel terrible for Drama. 

Eminem

The Season 7 finale, "Lose Yourself," not only foreshadows Vince's downward spiral, but Eminem's cameo. In one of the lowest moments of Vince's life, he first insults Minka Kelly, then gets into a fistfight with Eminem. It's as sad as it is funny, a line the show walked brilliantly in the episode. 

Alex Rodriguez

How tragic would be to hear that you lost out on a ton of money from former Yankee Alex Rodriguez? That's what happens to Turtle when the shortstop-turned-third-baseman shows up on screen to tell Turtle that the tequila company he once owned a lot of stock in went public after he sold out. Ouch. 

Steve Nash

Poor Steve Nash. The NBA star was at the height of his fame when he was unwittingly cornered by Eric at his manager's office (Scott Caan). Eric dumps all of his girlfriend problems on the Canadian basketball player's feet in the Season 6 episode "Murphy's Lie," and all Nash can do is look stunned. 

Johnny Galecki

Johnny Galecki's role in Entourage was a little more than one cameo, it was more like three cameos over three episodes and he plays a fictionalized version of himself who makes Eric's life hell by dating Eric's ex-girlfriend Sloan (Emmanuelle Chriqui). This version of Galecki is terrible but completely hilarious. 

Jessica Simpson

As Ari tries to protect his client base, he's forced to go hat in hand to a client who's mad at him for not caring when her dog died. Jessica Simpson meets Ari at the door in "Bottoms Up" from Season 7, and in classic Entourage fashion, makes Ari look like the jerk that he is, despite his insincere attempt to gift another dog to Simpson. It sums up everything a great Entourage cameo should be. A big star, an unrepentant Ari, and some choice lines. 

This is a list that could be almost endless, and we didn't even get into the multiple cameos in the Entourage movie, one of which featured Channing Tatum that didn't actually happen. 

Britney Spears’ early life and career have been major topics of discussion as of late, thanks mostly to the release of her new memoir. The Woman in Me features plenty of candid thoughts from the pop princess and, as a result, there have been some major revelations from Spears’ book. While various anecdotes from her published work continue to make the rounds, it seems a major part of her formative years is now up for sale. Spears’ childhood home is apparently up for sale, and it even includes some of her original possessions. Most notably, there’s even a closet that has the message “Christina Sucks, Brit Rules” marked on the door. 

Where Is The Singer’s Former Home And How Much Is It Being Sold For?

While the “I’m a Slave 4 U” was born in McComb, Mississippi, she was raised in Kentwood, Louisiana, which is where her childhood abode is located. According to Zillow Gone Wild of Instagram, the property is currently on the market with a $1,200,000 price tag. The 2,299 square-foot house has three bedrooms as well as three bathrooms and includes 1.87 acres of land. There’s also a dance studio on the property, which looks quite large, judging by the photos that were posted. As one can see, there are also small mementos, like vintage wall decals in what appears to be the songstress' old room. 

This house was sold back in 2021, at which point it was purchased for $289,000 so, needless to say, this new price listing is a serious jump. One could certainly argue that this is a lot of money to pay for what appears to be a modest (yet comfy-looking) place. Nevertheless, its connection to the Grammy winner and the presence of those original furnishings are arguably enough to help drive the value up. The timing of this sale is also interesting, given that it coincides with the release of the previously mentioned book. 

Unsurprisingly, the 41-year-old star herself has not commented on the reality listing for the home that once belonged to the Spears family, who she’s leveled allegations against. Britney, as you can tell by the closet door, also had beef with fellow pop star Christina Aguilera back in the day, though it’s unclear if the “Toxic” singer wrote that herself or if a later occupant of the house did. Regardless, years ago, the drama between the two was spicy.

What Happened Between The Two Music Industry Titans?

The two former Mickey Mouse Clubhouse members came into conflict with each other around the early days of their careers as singers, which coincided with the era of MTV music videos and Total Request Live. Given their pop statues, the two were apparently pitted against one another. The feud between Britney Spears and Chrstina Aguilera apparently came to a head in 2003 at the MTV Video Music Awards. It was there that Aguilera was supposedly slighted when she and Spears performed “Like a Virgin” with Madonna, who engaged in a long, show-stopping liplock with Spears. Aguilera did the same with Madonna, but her kiss was supposedly ignored during the broadcast in favor of a cutaway to Spears’ then-boyfriend, Justin Timberlake. 

Since that night, the two starlets have seemingly had their share of ups and downs but, in more recent years, it seemed they’d found some common ground. In 2021, Christina Aguilera even spoke out in support of her former co-star amid her conservatorship issues. Later that same year, however, Britney Spears would lash out at the “Genie in a Bottle” singer for not commenting on the “Free Britney” movement. Ultimately, Aguilera did comment on the end of Spears’ conservatorship, saying she “couldn't be happier for her.” 

So keeping all of that in mind, whoever eventually buys the Spears’ home is going to own a place with a key link to pop culture. I’m not sure just how many die-hard fans have over $1 million to spend on the property, but someone may indeed end up making a deal sooner rather than later. 

Superhero movies have been a constant in the world of modern Hollywood, and the genre reached its peak popularity with the explosion of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. With such a storied history, there are obviously going to be stories of actors who didn’t make the cut. But believe us when we tell you the actors on this list who almost played major superhero roles are quite the collection of characters.

Burt Reynolds - Superman - Superman (1977)

A bunch of big name actors turned down the role of Clark Kent/Superman when it came time to make 1977’s Superman feature film. Among those who skipped this early era of cape action is the legendary Burt Reynolds. The decision seemed to work out in the end, as that same year saw Smokey and the Bandit become one of his most iconic hits.

Demi Moore - Supergirl - Supergirl (1984)

Early in her career, Demi Moore had a chance to become a part of the Superman franchise. She auditioned alongside Brooke Shields for the lead in Supergirl, though Helen Slater would eventually win the part. Moore then almost played the supporting role of Lucy Lane but passed, as she was about to go from being on General Hospital to starring in the Brat Pack era of films, including About Last Night…

Pierce Brosnan - Batman - Batman (1989)

There are quite a few actors that have done the dance of fate with both superhero movies and the James Bond movies. One of the most surprising, besides Burt Reynolds turning down 007, was Pierce Brosnan testing for Tim Burton’s Batman. Brosnan admitted he blew it, especially since he criticized the wardrobe choices of Bruce Wayne’s darker alter-ego.

Annette Bening - Catwoman - Batman Returns (1992)

Annette Bening was almost Catwoman, believe it or not. The original choice for that role in Batman Returns, Bening seemed set to be a part of the film. That is until the actress found out she was pregnant and had to bow out of the part. It’s ok though, as Burton found a more than willing successor in Michelle Pfieffer, who practically signed on after reading half of the script. 

Marlon Wayans - Robin - Batman Returns (1992)

Marlon Wayans is the Bobby Bonilla of the superhero movie world. Just as Bobby continues to be paid not to play for the Mets, Wayans still gets royalties for not playing Robin in Batman Returns. Due to the roster of characters in Tim Burton’s 1992 sequel being trimmed, Wayans never took flight as the hero.

Dougray Scott - Wolverine - X-Men (2000)

Out of the 13 actors that almost played Wolverine in X-Men, Dougray Scott was the one that got the closest. Scott was actually cast in the iconic pre-MCU film and was so close to getting to pop those Adamantium claws. If he hadn’t suffered injuries and scheduling conflicts from the tail end of Mission: Impossible II, we would've seen different Logan in action. 

Rachel Leigh Cook - Rogue - X-Men (2000)

Brace yourself for a weird loop of coincidence. She’s All That star Rachel Leigh Cook turned down the role of Rogue in 2000’s X-Men. Who did the role end up going to? Academy Award winner Anna Paquin… the actor who gave Cook's character that memorable makeover in the aforementioned teen comedy. Maybe Paquin has some mutant career powers that nobody’s ever noticed before. As for Cook, she eventually admitted that she totally blew it by passing on this classic adventure.

Leonardo DiCaprio - Spider-Man - Spider-Man (2002)

James Cameron’s unmade Spider-Man movie would have gone in some wild directions. Perhaps what fans discuss most is the fact that if he were to have made the movie, Leonardo DiCaprio would have been his Peter Parker! While that’s not the most shocking aspect, especially if you’ve actually read the script, it’s certainly something that feels pretty interesting considering where Cameron and DiCaprio’s careers would go after that point. 

Kate Winslet - Elektra - Daredevil (2003)

There was a wide net cast when looking to fill the role of Elektra in 2003’s Daredevil. Lucy Liu, Salma Hayek and even Katie Holmes were all considered; as was Titanic alum Kate Winslet. Considering her co-star Leonardo DiCaprio almost played Spider-Man for James Cameron, could Winslet have also been considered for Mary Jane Watson had that movie gotten off the ground? 

Ashley Judd - Catwoman - Catwoman (2004)

Development hell can wreck a movie before it ever shoots a single frame. Michelle Pfieffer's intended Catwoman spinoff, for example, eventually mutated into a standalone film. And somewhere in-between Pfieffer’s variant being iced and Halle Berry’s infamous final product being made, Ashley Judd was meant to play the character in the early aughts. According to the Daily Haggis, Judd dropped out in favor of a stage play; which was probably the better move.

Cillian Murphy - Batman - Batman Begins (2005)

Beginning his stint as one of the actors in the most Christopher Nolan movies, Cillian Murphy played Scarecrow in Batman Begins and was a menacing presence to behold. And yet, the Irish actor initially tried out for the role of Bruce Wayne/Batman; going as far as doing screen tests in and out of the Batsuit. While it was admitted that he wasn’t a good fit for the lead role, Nolan did use Murphy’s audition to cast him as Dr. Jonathan Crane; and the rest was history.

Tom Cruise - Iron Man - Iron Man (2008)

You knew this was coming. When the MCU fired up its arc reactor in 2008, Robert Downey Jr. was there front and center to make Iron Man a mega hit. Of course, the studio needed to be convinced that Downey was the way to go, as there were powers that be who wanted the Mission: Impossible daredevil as the lead. Cruise turned down the part, while at the same time the Tony Stark we knew and loved had enough people in his corner to make it happen. 

Emily Blunt - Black Widow - Iron Man 2 (2010)

It’s time to revisit one of the cruelest villains ever: contractual obligations! Back when Iron Man 2 was getting into gear, the then up-and-coming Emily Blunt was offered the role of Natalie Rushman… who was eventually revealed to be Natasha Romanova, the Black Widow. Unfortunately, this was the first of Blunt’s two Marvel passes; with this part going to Scarlett Johansson after Emily had to fulfill her obligation to star in 2010’s Gulliver’s Travels. 

Daniel Craig - Baldur The Brave - Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022)

The worlds of James Bond and superhero culture have collided before, thanks to Daniel Craig’s rumored Thor casting being debunked. What isn’t as sketchy is the claim that Craig almost played Baldur the Brave in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. And if you need anyone to further firm up this claim, just ask Elizabeth Olsen, who actually saw Craig’s costume after it was designed.

Joe Jonas - Spider-Man - The Amazing Spider-Man (2011)

One of the greatest heartbreaks in Joe Jonas’ career as an actor is still that time he almost landed the lead role in The Amazing Spider-Man. Jonas recalled his Marvel auditions as well as the tragic turn the situation took when Andrew Garfield landed the role, and it’s hard not to feel for the dude. Then again, Jonas may have dodged a bullet, considering where that series went.

John Krasinski - Captain America - Captain America: The First Avenger (2011)

One of the hot prospects for the casting of Captain America was appropriately a man who’s clearly cut out for the role of an American boy scout -- John Krasinski. Though The Office star failed to secure the bag as Steve Rogers, he did go on to play the similarly patriotic lead of Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan. Oh yeah… and he was a Multiversal Reed Richards in Doctor Strange 2 as well. 

Morena Baccarin - Maria Hill - The Avengers (2012)

Joss Whedon sure does have a deep bench of talent he loves to pull from. Firefly alum Morena Baccarin knows that fact, as she auditioned for The Avengers to play the role of Maria Hill. Though she stayed in the extended MCU family through Deadpool, Baccarin admitted she tanked the audition because she didn’t get Hill’s character on the page.

Jamie Dornan - Superman - Man of Steel (2013)

Mr. Kent will see you now. If history shook out a bit differently, maybe Henry Cavill would've played the lead in Fifty Shades of Grey, and Jamie Dornan would have been the Man of Steel lead that kicked off the DC Extended Universe. But that’s not the multiverse we live in, as we’re now wondering if these two will be competing for another massive pop culture role: that of James Bond.

Amanda Seyfried - Gamora - Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)

If it wasn’t for Amanda Seyfried questioning whether or not Guardians of the Galaxy would be the first Marvel movie to bomb, she might have accepted the role of Gamora. However, it’s those doubts that kept her out of James Gunn’s 2014 blockbuster; a fact that Seyfried admits she was “very wrong” about.

Glenn Howerton - Star-Lord - Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)

It’s more than an implication that It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia star Glenn Howerton was almost cast as Star-Lord. It’s been pretty much confirmed by James Gunn that Howerton would have been his next choice, had Chris Pratt not signed on. The only thing more interesting is how “the Golden God” himself wasn’t considered to play Adam Warlock.

Lindsay Lohan - Scarlet Witch - Avengers: Age Of Ultron (2015)

Back in the days of her docu-series Lindsay, this Mouse House graduate thought her manager cost her a role in an Avengers movie. Well, if the timing of that 2014 project was any indication, the whispers of Lindsay Lohan being up for the part of Scarlet Witch just may have been true. 

Olga Kurylenko - Wonder Woman - Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)

If there are two stars that need to be interviewed together about their careers, it’s Gal Gadot and Olga Kurylenko. Apparently, they both competed for lead roles in Quantum of Solace and Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice; with Kurylenko ultimately getting the Bond experience and Gadot snagging the Lasso of Truth.

Asa Butterfield - Spider-Man - Captain America: Civil War (2016)

Remember that time the world was convinced Asa Butterfield was the new Spider-Man? It happened, and the Sex Education lead apparently did test for the role in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War. Though his bid was unsuccessful, it’s hard not to admit he’d have made a good candidate had Tom Holland not eventually landed the role.

Emma Roberts - Harley Quinn - Suicide Squad (2016)

Apparently, the world has Fox’s now defunct shriek-com Scream Queens for taking Emma Roberts away from Suicide Squad. Roberts chose that TV gig over becoming the living embodiment of mayhem, leaving the role wide open for Margot Robbie to accept, and own, the role of Harley Quinn for years to come.

Josh Brolin - Batman - Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)

Ben Affleck had some stiff competition for Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice’s Caped Crusader; and Josh Brolin was one of those competitors. But just as those hopes of Bryan Cranston as Lex Luthor and Timothy Dalton as Alfred didn’t pan out, Brolin lost the gig. With that, another major "what if" casting scenario was created.

Ryan Gosling - Doctor Strange - Doctor Strange (2016)

Yes, it’s true: Ryan Gosling took a meeting back in the Phase Three days of the MCU. The Mickey Mouse Club alum was considered to play Dr. Steven Strange himself. It’s hard to tell which missed opportunity is the more intriguing what if: this, or Gosling’s failed attempt to make a Haunted Mansion movie with Guillermo del Toro.

DeWanda Wise - Maria Rambeau - Captain Marvel (2019)

Getting cast in a superhero movie like Captain Marvel, only to have to bow out, has to be a painful feeling. DeWanda Wise is another case of such history in action, as she was supposed to play Maria Rambeau opposite Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers. But then, commitments to Season 2 of Netflix’s She’s Gotta Have It forced Wise to exit, with Lashana Lynch taking her place shortly after.

Sean Young - Catwoman - Batman Returns (1992)

Sean Young really wanted to be Catwoman in Batman Returns. No, seriously, the Blade Runner actor had such a desire to be cast in the role, that details reported via CBR saw a Warner Bros exec talking about how she burst into his office, in a Catwoman costume of her own design, to try and impress him and Michael Keaton. Needless to say, it didn’t work.

David Duchovny - Batman - Batman & Robin (1997)

There was a bit of a holding pattern between the success of Batman Forever and the accelerated timeline to make Batman & Robin. In that chaos, Val Kilmer exited the role, and a new Bats needed to be found. The X-Files' David Duchovny was one of the candidates considered, but the spooky man lost out on the role to George Clooney. A fate that Mr. Clooney still apologizes for, to this very day.

Armie Hammer - Batman - Justice League: Mortal (2007)

Tax rebates! That’s what caused the cancellation of George Miller’s Justice League: Mortal, which was pretty far along in pre-production for a movie to be given the axe. With Armie Hammer cast as Batman for this big blockbuster, the Caped Crusader scored yet another intriguing “what if…” when the curtain fell.

Anne Hathaway - Black Cat - Spider-Man 4 (2011)

If Spider-Man 4 had actually happened, it could have been a hell of a sight. With folks like John Malkovich cast, the next intended Sam Raimi-helmed movie could have been a return to the heights of Spider-Man 2. And in that pocket of alternate reality, Anne Hathaway probably didn’t play Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises, as she would have played a feline of a different stripe: Felicia Hardy herself, Black Cat. 

Christina Aguilera - Invisible Woman - Fantastic Four (2005)

Prepare for quite possibly the most bizarro alternative casting on this list. Amid development on 2005's Fantastic Four, Sean Astin himself wanted to direct the First Family of Superheroes. And as Astin revealed to Collider, he wanted Christina Aguilera to play Sue Storm a.k.a. the Invisible Woman. There’s got to be a “Genie In A Bottle” joke here somewhere, but we just can’t see it.

As you can see, the world of alternate comic castings has led to some stranger than-fiction-possibilities, near misses and truly heartbreaking passes. You can bet that so long as Marvel, DC, and any other comic company is keeping the pedal to the medal to make more superhero movies, there will be even more of these tales to come along in the years to come.

Years before Keri Russell became a household name for fronting the popular drama series Felicity, she was part of one of the most star-studded young casts as a member of The All-New Mickey Mouse Club. The ‘90s sketch series starred big-names-to-be like Ryan Gosling, Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake ahead of their viral fame. Looking back, Russell doesn’t count herself among the most talented of the crew. 

With 2023 marking thirty years since Russell last appeared on the Mickey Mouse Club reboot, the Emmy-nominated actress recently shared her thoughts about being part of the show to W Magazine. In her words: 

No matter what Keri Russell might think, we know she’s a massive talent in her own right between her incredible six season run on The Americans to frequently working with J.J. Abrams on projects from Felicity to Star Wars. Most recently, Russell starred in a series called The Diplomat, which you can stream with a Netflix subscription. The actress also had more jokes when asked if she saved anything from her time on the series, saying this: 

Now, Russell was 15 when she first appeared on the Mickey Mouse Club reboot in 1991 and so of course she has some cringe thoughts about her teenage self being on TV. Looking back on the actress’ run on the kids show, she looks absolutely cool and oozing with personality from my estimation, but if any of us looked back on our high schooler self we’d probably have similar words to say. Across The All-New Mickey Mouse Club revival, which aired from 1989 to 1994, there were over 30 cast members, many of which did not go on to find themselves with the kind of lasting career Russell has found in Hollywood. It’s pretty amazing that a handful of young people who would go on to help define a new generation of entertainers were all cast together, and Keri Russell is definitely among those select handful of global sensations. 

Obviously Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and NSYNC members Justin Timberlake and JC Chasez went on to be major names in pop music, but also Ryan Gosling has been a huge name in the movie industry for decades now, finding tons of memorable characters over the years, most recently playing Ken in Barbie. 

Back in 2018, Ryan Gosling and Britney Spears reunited on the Ellen show after Spears shared her interest in doing a Mickey Mouse Club reunion. It would be fun to see the cast come back together and share memories of meeting each other before their massive fame, wouldn’t it? 

The pop music scene in the early aughts was filled with enough bubble-gum sweetness to give Millennials a lifetime of dental problems, but beneath the cheesy boy band choreography and baffling Britney Spears cult classic Crossroads, there was more than enough drama to go around. Christina Aguilera, for one, was involved in her share of celebrity feuding, not just with the “Baby One More Time” belter, but with pop-rocker Pink, as well, and the “So What” singer had some choice words for fans who accused her of reigniting her Xtina beef.

The tension between Pink and Christina Aguilera dates back to 2001, when the singers joined Mýa and Lil’ Kim for an epic remake of the song “Lady Marmalade” for the Moulin Rouge! soundtrack. Personalities apparently clashed on set, and afterward got to a point between the two pop stars that Xtina apparently once tried to punch Pink in the face. While time seemed to heal things between the two, the “Just Like a Pill” singer recently retread some old ground during an interview. Let’s take a look at the latest happenings. 

Pink Recalled Her Negative Experience Making ‘Lady Marmalade’ Music Video 

In a recent Buzzfeed piece, Pink ranked her most iconic music videos, giving a little tea about some of her career highlights. She kicked off the list ranking the Moulin Rouge! ensemble the lowest, saying there were a couple of issues at play that left a bad taste in her mouth. Pink said of shooting the music video: 

While Pink didn’t mention Christina Aguilera by name, the implication was clear, as she mentioned “personalities” but clarified that she wasn’t talking about Lil’ Kim or Mýa. It’s also pretty well-documented that Pink took issue with the way that Xtina’s manager apparently kept trying to ensure his client was the star of the number.

Fans did not like the singer reviving the issue that was supposedly water under the bridge, and they were sure to call her out on social media.

Pink Dropped An F-Bomb Over Xtina Feud Accusations 

Pink certainly seemed to have no tolerance for fans who tweeted their disdain for the rekindled feud, and the “Stupid Girls” singer responded to one on Twitter, saying: 

She said she’s too busy to involve herself in the drama, but not too busy to drop a second and third tweet to say: 

The last comment is in reference to an alleged game of Spin the Bottle that once took place, but just as Christina Aguilera has denied that she would have tried to punch Pink (“She can beat my ass.”), the “Genie in a Bottle” singer also rejected rumors of the kiss.

“Lady Marmalade” may have been an unpleasant filming experience for at least one of the singers, but even Pink agrees the result was iconic. Take a look back at the music video:

Christina Aguilera doesn’t appear to have responded to the rekindled feud, which seems on brand for the pop star. When Britney Spears appeared to fat-shame the “Dirrty” singer’s backup dancers last year, the former coach of The Voice made no public comment then, either, though it was reported that she unfollowed her former Mickey Mouse Club co-star on Instagram. We’ll have to wait to see if both singers really have moved on. 

Prince Harry is full of some wild stories, and we got to learn about a whole bunch of them when his book Spare came out swinging with its wild revelations and allegations. However, there are also lots of fun facts about the Duke of Sussex, one of which is his love for pop music. However, the internet made sure to call him out on his pop facts when he incorrectly quoted Christina Aguilera’s hit “Genie in a Bottle.” Although while the people are stuck on this lyric mishap, I’m more distracted by the drugs he took during this story.

A reader posted the excerpt from Spare where Prince Harry recalls this Aguilera story on Twitter which featured both the lyric mishap and the drugs. The prince started the chapter by writing: 

While the Aguilera of it all caught the internet’s attention, and we'll get to that in a moment, can we take a beat to recognize how many drugs he took when he walked into the house? The mushrooms alone are enough to make an impact, but also smoking a joint, I’m surprised he still remembers this story. I’d also assume his inebriated state is a reason he misunderstood who exactly he was meeting, because the story went on to say:

This excerpt ran around at first because the Duke of Sussex omitted a few words from his rendition of Aguilera's hit single. The chorus actually goes:

Clearly, the prince missed a couple of words in his recall of the lyrics. I’m curious if that was intentional, or if he really just forgot the extra words. Based on the number of drugs that were ingested before meeting the songwriter, it makes sense that he doesn’t fully remember who said the lyrics. However, when it comes to the book, he could have Googled the lyrics all these years later. But, maybe he just felt uncomfortable saying “baby” and “honey.”

Although considering all the wild stories in Spare, I doubt intentional omission was the reason. To make this point a bit clearer, Prince Harry mentions his private parts nearly 20 times, including a story about getting frostbite on his penis. He also told the story about the time he wore a Nazi costume to a party, and made major claims about his brother and father. All of this led to critics wondering if Prince Harry said too much, and just looking at the translated titles of Spare you can tell how brutal and revealing this book is. So I don't think he would feel weird using the real lyrics, I genuinely believe he just got them wrong. 

While this lyric fiasco is fascinating, I’m more distracted by the number of drugs Prince Harry took before meeting this songwriter, because it is kind of intense. Although considering how revealing he’s been in the book and how much people with Netflix subscriptions learned about him in Harry & Meghan, it’s really not all that surprising that this drug-induced interaction was part of Spare. 

Whether you’ve been a fan of The Voice since the beginning or are a newcomer to the NBC show, we've got everything you need to know about the singing competition's history of superstar coaches and winners right here. This fall, the show's milestone 30th season will hit the 2026 TV schedule, with Adam Levine looking to defend his title after winning last season's "Battle of Champions." He'll have to get through Kelly Clarkson and two talented newcomers to The Voice coaching family to do it though.

The Voice has welcomed 23 superstars so far in its 15-year history to lead the music industry hopefuls, with two more joining for Season 30. Blake Shelton was the longest-running mentor, appearing in the first 23 seasons, but an eclectic array of musicians have come and gone over the years as well. Let’s take a look at all of The Voice coaches, how many seasons they've coached, and all the artists they've led to victory.

Blake Shelton (23 Seasons, 9 Wins)

Blake Shelton is the leader of the pack when it comes to The Voice coaches in both longevity and wins. The longest-serving coach collected nine wins during his 23-season tenure, and he must have left his mark on the artists, as all nine of them showed up to surprise Shelton on his final episode with an emotional group performance. The cowboy returned for the Season 27 finale, but only to perform.

Season 2: Jermaine Paul. Blake Shelton got his first win fairly quickly in The Voice’s run, winning the second season with R&B singer Paul.

Season 3: Cassadee Pope. Country pop singer Pope has released four studio albums since The Voice, and her duet with country singer Chris Young, “Think of You.” went No. 1 on the US Country Airplay chart in 2016.

Season 4: Danielle Bradbery. Blake Shelton completed a three-peat with then-16-year-old Bradbery. She is among artists who found success after The Voice.

Season 7: Craig Wayne Boyd. Team Blake bested three Adam Levine team members in this finale, giving Boyd the crown.

Season 11: Sundance Head. In 2016, Sundance Head beat out competitors who included former child star Billy Gilman. Head was one of many singers on The Voice who also competed on American Idol, and he made headlines in 2024 after accidentally shooting himself in the stomach. He continues to tour as of 2026 and appears to have made a full recovery.

Season 13: Chloe Kohanski. Following her win, Kohanski gave us some behind-the-scenes info about The Voice. In 2019, she began performing as chloe mk, and in 2021 she released the album, All the Same All OK.

Season 18: Todd Tilghman. Pastor and father of eight Tilghman became Shelton’s seventh champion on The Voice. At 42 years old, he is the oldest contestant to win the show.

Season 20: Cam Anthony. The coach’s strategy of clearing the lane for Anthony to be the only R&B singer on his team paid off, as he “changed the show forever” and gave the cowboy an eighth victory.

Season 22: Bryce Leatherwood. This classic country singer used negative online feedback to fuel his upset victory in his coach's penultimate season. Leatherwood sang hits by George Strait, Travis Tritt, Keith Whitley and more en route to the trophy and stands as Blake Shelton’s final champion.

Kelly Clarkson (10 Seasons, 4 Wins)

Blake Shelton may have the most victories, but Kelly Clarkson has notched a pretty impressive win rate, winning 4 out of the 10 times she’s coached (Seasons 14-21, 23, 29). The American Idol OG champ stepped away from The Voice in 2023, whenThe Kelly Clarkson Show's production moved to New York City. She performed in the Season 27 finale before returning as a coach for Season 29, and she'll be back in the Big Red Chairs for Season 30.

Season 14: Brynn Cartelli. In her first year on The Voice, Kelly Clarkson gave A+ advice, leading this 15-year-old pop singer to victory. Cartelli stands as the competition’s youngest winner.

Season 15: Chevel Shepherd. Make that 2-for-2 for the “Breakaway” singer, as 16-year-old Shepherd became the first country artist to win on a team other than Blake Shelton’s.

Season 17: Jake Hoot. This country singer was “in shock” after giving Kelly Clarkson her third win in four seasons. He returned for Season 29's "All-Star Showdown," where he "broke" Kelly Clarkson but also helped her win an extra spot in the finale.

Season 21: Girl Named Tom. This folk trio comprising siblings Joshua, Caleb, and Bekah Liechty made history as the first group to ever win The Voice. They joined Jake Hoot in representing their former coach in Season 29's All-Star contest.

Adam Levine (18 Seasons, 4 Wins)

One of the original coaches, Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine served on the panel for the first 16 seasons, contributing to some of the wildest moments in The Voice’s history and forming bromantic rivalry with Blake Shelton. He exited the show ahead of Season 17 for 10 seasons before returning for the 27th and 29th cycles of the competition in 2025 and 2026. He has earned four victories overall, including Season 29's Battle of Champions, and he's confirmed that he'll be back for Season 30.

Season 1: Javier Colon. Adam Levine started off with a bang, taking this singer-songwriter all the way to the end, to be crowned the first champion of The Voice. Colon returned to represent his coach in Season 29's "In-Season All-Star Competition."

Season 5: Tessanne Chin. This Jamaican artist beat out some strong competition in Jacquie Lee and Will Champlin to give the Maroon 5 frontman his second win.

Season 9: Jordan Smith. The singer-songwriter blew all of his competition out of the water, coasting to a victory in 2015. In 2022 he also represented Kentucky on NBC’s American Song Contest, and he joined Javier Colon in Season 29's All-Star Competition.

Season 29: Alexia Jayy. John Legend really shot himself in the foot with this artist, and Adam Levine took her all the way to the finish line in a season full of stunning covers of songs by Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, Adele and more.

John Legend (11 Seasons, 1 Win)

EGOT winner John Legend has been a pretty regular figure on The Voice panel since 2019 but has garnered just one victory so far. Legend served as a coach on The Voice on Seasons 16-22, 24, 25, 27 and 29.

Season 16: Maelyn Jarmon. The folk singer wowed voters with her finale covers of Hallelujah and Unforgettable. Funnily, she said the competition was not as stressful to her as the final season of Game of Thrones. Jarmon represented John Legend in Season 29's All-Star competition, along with Season 27 finalist Renzo.

Christina Aguilera (6 Seasons, 1 Win)

Another one of the original panel, Christina Aguilera appeared on six of the first 10 seasons of the NBC competition show (1-3, 5, 8, 10), and won in her final appearance. Two years after her exit, the “Genie in a Bottle” singer said that by Season 10, The Voice had become less about music and more about making good TV moments.

Season 10: Alisan Porter. Some viewers may have recognized the eventual winner from her roles as a child actor, including the titular character of 1991’s Curly Sue. Porter’s victory made Christina Aguilera the first female coach to win a season.

Gwen Stefani (8 Seasons, 1 Win)

The No Doubt frontwoman joined the cast of The Voice in fall 2014, and has scored one win in her eight seasons so far (7, 9, 12, 17, 19, 22, 24 and 26). At the time of her first appearance, she and Blake Shelton were both going through divorces. Fans got to watch their friendship blossom into romance, and in Season 22, they were the show’s first husband-and-wife couple to go to battle. Stefani has appeared on two seasons since Shelton left, but only time will tell if she'll continue to return.

Season 19: Carter Rubin. The 15-year-old pop singer gave Gwen Stefani her first win — beating out two members of her then-fiancé’s team — and became the youngest male winner in series history.

Pharrell Williams (4 Seasons 1 Win)

The “Happy” singer was added to The Voice’s panel in Season 7. He stayed in the Big Red Chairs through Season 10, winning his sophomore effort.

Season 8: Sawyer Fredericks. Following his win at just 16 year's old, Fredericks recorded three albums while touring and playing events for charities, including St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. He is one of several celebrity relatives to compete on The Voice.

Alicia Keys (3 Seasons, 1 Win)

Alicia Keys brought a cool and positive vibe to the panel for Seasons 11 and 12 — winning in her second season — before leaving to record an album. She came back one last time for Season 14 and performed in the Season 27 finale.

Season 12: Chris Blue. The soul singer was the very last contestant picked on this season, completing Keys’ team. This was the only season that the last singer chosen has won the whole competition.

Usher (2 Seasons, 1 Win)

Season 4 marked the first time The Voice switched up its coaches, and Usher came on replacing CeeLo Green. The “My Way” crooner made a second appearance in Season 6, notching his first and only win.

Season 6: Josh Kaufman. Kaufman started his Voice journey on Adam Levine’s team but was stolen by Usher in the Battles. Following the show he joined the Broadway cast of Pippin, and was the last person to play the title role before the revival closed in 2015.

CeeLo Green (4 Seasons, 0 Wins)

OG coach CeeLo Green appeared on Seasons 1-3 before stepping away in Season 4. He returned for Season 5 for a final season. The Gnarls Barkley member brought a certain flair to the panel, as he was often accompanied by his cat and tended to choose more unique artists than his counterparts. Those choices, however, did not translate to wins.

CeeLo Green has returned to The Voice a couple times since his exit, performing on Blake Shelton's final episode, and serving as a Mega Mentor and the judge of the All-Star Competition in Season 29.

Shakira (2 Seasons, 0 Wins)

The “Hips Don’t Lie” singer filled in for Christina Aguilera on Seasons 4 and 6, failing to bring an artist to the finale in both seasons.

Jennifer Hudson (2 Seasons, 0 Wins)

American Idol alum Jennifer Hudson is probably best remembered for throwing her shoes at the performances she deemed most impressive. She appeared on two seasons (13 and 15), but got no wins. J-Hud returned as a Mega Mentor for Reba McEntire and Michael Bublé’s teams in Season 26, filled in for Kelly Clarkson during the Battles in Season 29, and has also coached on three seasons of The Voice UK.

Miley Cyrus (2 Seasons, 0 Wins)

The addition of Miley Cyrus to Season 11, along with Alicia Keys, marked the first time the singing competition featured two female coaches. She returned in Season 13, but the “Wrecking Ball” singer never earned a win.

Nick Jonas (2 Seasons, 0 Wins)

Nick Jonas adorned the Big Red Chair in Seasons 18 and 20. While having an artist appear in the finale both seasons, he also failed to take them to victory.

Ariana Grande (1 Season, 0 Wins)

Pop singer Ariana Grande got some good zingers in on Blake Shelton, however, in her sole appearance on the show — Season 21 — she had no artists representing her in the finale. The Wicked star has since said she got too emotionally attached to her team and has no plans to return.

Camila Cabello (1 Season, 0 Wins)

Camila Cabello proved she was a force to be reckoned with in her first time on The Voice. In Season 22 she took one artist, Morgan Myles, to the finale, but was unable to wrestle the win away from the cowboy, Blake Shelton.

Chance the Rapper (2 Seasons, 0 Wins)

Chance the Rapper made his debut on The Voice in Season 23, then returned in Season 25. The three-time Grammy Award winner took sister trio Sorelle to the finals in his rookie season but failed to secure an artist in the Season 25 finals. In the Season 27 finale, Chance the Rapper appeared as a performer.

Niall Horan (3 Seasons, 3 Wins)

Former One Direction member Niall Horan joined The Voice family in Season 23, where he struck up a hilariously strong father/son bond with outgoing coach Blake Shelton. It seems the nut didn't fall far from the tree, as Horan has gone undefeated in his three seasons on the show. He stands as the only undefeated coach and the first coach to win their first three seasons (Kelly Clarkson and Michael Bublé won their first two).

Niall Horan joins Blake Shelton as the only two coaches to win three attempts in a row, though Horan's were not in consecutive seasons like Shelton's were (Seasons 2-4).

Season 23: Gina Miles. The soft-spoken 18-year-old spoiled Blake Shelton's goodbye season, edging country singer Grace West in what Carson Daly said was the smallest margin of victory in the show's 23 seasons.

Season 24: Huntley. Niall Horan's long-haired rocker was up against some stiff competition, as all five artists in the Season 24 finale were Four-Chair Turns. He brought it home, though, making it two in a row for his coach.

Season 28: Aidan Ross. The 20-year-old from Texas earned a Four-Chair Turn as the first artist to take the stage for Blind Auditions on his season. He chose to go with Niall Horan and the two never looked back. Halfway through the season, fans were already calling him the winner.

Reba McEntire (4 Seasons, 1 Win)

Reba McEntire joined The Voice for Season 24, replacing fellow country superstar Blake Shelton, and then returned in Seasons 25, 26 and 28. Even before that, though, the three-time Grammy winner had been a friend of the show, helping Team Blake in Season 1, returning in Season 8 and serving as Mega Mentor in Season 23. She has notched one victory on her Voice belt.

Season 25: Asher HaVon. Asher HaVon, a 31–year-old singer from Selma, Alabama, dominated the competition, to the point that after his finale performances, both John Legend and Chance the Rapper agreed the Team Reba singer should win. HaVon was reportedly the first openly LGBTQ+ contestant to win The Voice.

Dan + Shay (1 Season, 0 Wins)

The Voice made history in Season 25 by introducing the Double Big Red Chair for country/pop duo Dan + Shay. The singers were longtime friends of the show, performing with past contestants, serving as Blake Shelton's advisor in Season 20 and filling in for Niall Horan for the Battles in Season 24. Dan + Shay have won three Grammy Awards and had hits with The Voice coaching phenom Kelly Clarkson, as well as Justin Bieber, but were unable to secure a win in their lone season.

Snoop Dogg (2 Seasons, 0 Wins)

Snoop Dogg was apparently so impressive during his gig as the Season 20 Mega Mentor that NBC wanted to bring him on full time. The West Coast rapper and Winter Olympics correspondant joined the coaching panel for the competition’s 26th cycle, and while he suggested he might be one-and-done as a coach, the Gangster Holy Ghost brought him back to the Big Red Chair for Season 28.

Michael Bublé (3 Seasons, 2 Wins)

Season 26 was Michael Bublé's first as a coach, as the five-time Grammy winner appeared on Season 3 as the Battle Advisor for Blake Shelton’s team. The “Home” singer became the fourth coach to win his rookie season (after Kelly Clarkson, John Legend and Niall Horan) and the first coach ever to have both the winner and second-place finisher on their first season. (I think he was also the first coach to break their chair.)

He became the third coach after Clarkson and Horan to win their first two seasons, but he couldn't complete the hat trick, losing to fellow (and still) unbeaten mentor Niall Horan in Season 28. Bublé returned as a Battle Advisor in Season 29.

Season 26: Sofronio Vasquez. The 31-year-old from the Philippines and New York became the first Filipino singer to win the competition. He was a Four-Chair Turn who captivated America with covers of artists including Mary J. Blige, Sia and Elvis. Following his win, Michael Bublé announced he was producing Vasquez's EP.

Season 27: Adam David. The blues rocker was a one-chair turn in the Blind Auditions and then needed the help of the Instant Save to make it past the Semifinals, but the 34-year-old from Florida brought home the big prize in the end.

Kelsea Ballerini (1 Season, 0 Wins)

Kelsea Ballerini made her debut in Season 27. As a longtime friend of the singing competition, the country-pop singer served as an honorary fifth coach on Season 15, was Kelly Clarkson’s advisor in Season 16 and filled in for the “Since U Been Gone” singer when she was sick in Season 20.

Queen Latifah: Incoming Rookie

We've talked a lot about Reba McEntire being the "Queen of Country" on The Voice, but Season 30 will see true music royalty in the house when Queen Latifah joins the coaching panel. With a career dating back to the 1980s, this superstar is a Grammy, Emmy and Golden Globe winner with an Oscar nomination for the 2002 musical Chicago. I'll be seated.

Riley Green: Incoming Rookie

Country music star and actor Riley Green will also make his debut on The Voice in Season 30, but he's no stranger to the show — Green performed on the finales for Seasons 26 and 28. Also, it sounds like he's living rent-free in Kelly Clarkson's head, because apparently she started trash-talking before production even began.

I'm super pumped to see if Adam Levine can capitalize on his latest victory, but I'd love to see Kelly Clarkson walk away with another win. On the other hand, I'd never underestimate Queen Latifah, and Riley Green is sure having a moment, so whichever way it goes, Season 30 should bring great things.

Pop sensation Britney Spears has been a fan of social media for a long time, and in her post-conservatorship life she’s continued to post a number of saucy pictures, quotes, and memes that her followers fawn over. But, she has also used her platforms to open up about a number of things, including her life over the past many years. While the “Oops!...I Did It Again” singer, who has the hit, "Hold Me Closer," with Elton John, has opened up about what she saw as poor working conditions in the past, she is now clarifying some comments after seemingly fat-shaming Christina Aguilera’s backup dancers.

What Did Britney Spears Originally Say About Christina Aguilera’s Dancers? 

It was just a few days ago that the songstress took to Instagram with another naked pic (featuring her bum covered by a modesty-boosting heart), and confirmed that she will likely never perform again because of the poor touring conditions she endured in the past. Spears claimed she had no say in creative decisions made for her tours, and that her backup dancers were chosen specifically because they were smaller than her. Yesterday, she shared another post that talked about some of the decisions she wasn’t allowed to make during her conservatorship and said, in part:

This was accompanied by a quote that’s attributed to comedian Rodney Dangerfield, which says, “I found there was only one way to look thin: hang out with fat people.” The combination of all these comments have made some people think that she was fat-shaming Aguilera’s dancers, or the former The Voice coach herself.

How Did Britney Spears Clarify Her Comments After She Seemed To Fat Shame Christina Aguilera’s Dancers?

One of the "Toxic" singer's main complaints in the wake of her conservatorship ending has been that no one who was supposed to be supporting her during that time has come forward to take responsibility for the horrible treatment Spears alleges she endured during that time. Well, it didn’t take long for her to recognize how her comments about Aguilera’s backup dancers were being taken by outraged fans, so she returned to Instagram with a post that clarified her words:

As she noted, her comments were not meant to fat-shame Aguilera (with whom she previously had a bit of a dust-up after her conservatorship ended), her dancers, or anyone else. The superstar has spoken before about being insecure when it comes to her body, and she opened up more about that in her post, saying that her words were simply “a projection” of those insecurities, which come from having her parents and the media talk about how she looks. Also, Spears thinks her family was well aware of her insecurities, and chose to “purposefully feed” them by not giving her a choice of the people she performed with.

She also thanked everyone for “being understanding with me as I figure out this new life I’m living,” so it seems apparent that the Grammy-winning artist is understanding of the fact that getting used to having so many freedoms again will take her a while, and that she might make some missteps in the meantime. Early this year, Christina Aguilera said she “couldn’t be happier” for her fellow icon, so even though she reportedly unfollowed Spears after this fat-shaming confusion, Aguilera will hopefully be able to take her former collaborator’s clarification to heart.

Britney Spears is known for speaking her truth, and usually her throngs of fans are more than happy to throw their full support behind the singer as she'd rediscovered her freedom post-conservatorship. One of her latest public screeds crossed a line for many fans, however, when the “Toxic” singer seemingly fat-shamed Christina Aguilera’s backup dancers. Spears’ followers may be fiercely loyal, but they definitely took to the comments to let her know this was not OK.

The singer, who recently released a new song with Elton John, posted a Rodney Dangerfield quote to Instagram in which the late comedian said, “I found there was only one way to look thin: hang out with fat people.” It’s a pretty cringey joke to begin with from the "no respect" comic, but Britney Spears made things worse when she seemingly referenced her former pop star rival Christina Aguilera’s dancers in her caption, which read:

The majority of her caption is presumably talking about the freedoms that were stripped away by her father during her 13-year conservatorship, in which she’d said she was not allowed to drive, drink alcohol, or make other life choices for herself. However, fans really didn’t like the way Britney Spears brought the dancers into it without further clarification, and they let her know it in the comments section. Here are a handful of responses:

Many of the singer’s Instagram followers asked her to delete the post, but as of this writing, it was still active. Christina Aguilera has not responded publicly, but Page Six reports that she did unfollow Britney Spears on Instagram. 

 It seems like there’s always been tension between Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera, who were two of the biggest pop stars of the 2000s. They got their start acting together on The Mickey Mouse Club and became popular for their singing around the same time, making comparisons between them unavoidable. 

Christina Aguilera has spoken about Britney Spears regaining her freedom, saying she’s happy for her and that nobody deserves to go through what she has. Spears, however, still felt snubbed when Aguilera declined to comment on the "Free Britney" movement at last year's Latin Grammy's.

Hopefully Britney Spears gets the message that body shaming is not OK, and we'll have to see how she and Christina Aguilera move forward after this.

I don’t know if it’s just because I like the Wheatus song so much or if it’s because so many celebrities, particularly those who grew up in the ‘90s and early aughts, are now sharing a look back at their younger dirtbag selves, but I am loving the resurgence of the “Teenage Dirtbag” TikTok trend. I’m also enjoying how on board celebrities seem to be with creating these throwback posts, as everyone from Christina Aguilera, Joe Jonas, Kerry Washington, Terry Crews, Lady Gaga and more have all given us their personal takes in recent days. Now, Jurassic World star Chris Pratt has also joined the viral trend, though he did it in his own way.  

When I say "his own way," I mean he’s like an old guy now so he did it on his Instagram account, which honestly makes me love his video even more. Take a look at dirtbag Pratt, courtesy of not TikTok, below. 

He’s only the latest in the long line of celebrities who jumped right into the celebrity trend. I haven’t seen so many celebrities excited about this sort of challenge since the ice bucket challenge was a big deal back in 2014. At that time celebrities like Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan got into ice because it was for a good cause, the ALS Foundation. This time around celebrities like Christina Aguilera simply seem to be creating content for the fun of it.

Joe Jonas had another fun video on the theme. I’d totally forgotten all about his hair during the Jonas Brothers era, but now I’m so happy to be reminded of it once more. Jonas went blonde after the birth of his baby with Sophie Turner, but I am so here for his dirtbag era. 

If you want to throwback a little further, early aughts stars Terry Crews and Kerry Washington both posted their own takes on the trend. Maybe it’s just me, but I almost think Crews looks too cool for a dirtbag era, with his clean cut athletic photos? Still, nice to see the Brooklyn Nine-Nine star throwing way back.

Washington, however, certainly embraced her inner dirtbag. The Scandal alum kicked off her video reminiscing while in bed and then cuts to what is maybe the best of any of these “dirtbag” throwback: A picture of herself chowing down on a funnel cake. 

Mother Monster May have gotten famous a little later than 2000 when “Teenage Dirtbag” first released, baby, but she also shared some great takes from before she became the famous "Shallow" singer and actress and was still rolling by the name Stefani Germanotta. 

How Wheatus Has Responded To The "Teenage Dirtbag" Renaissance

This isn't the first time we've seen this trend on TikTok, but there do seem to be a lot of celebrities in general who are participating this time around. Wheatus itself has noticed how viral the trend is going this time around and even commented about it on an Instagram post. The band noted they had "NEVER received so many kind messages and comments of love and support" as they have recently as the trend went viral. 

It seems we may be hearing more from Wheatus in the future as well.  Before I leave you on that note, if you haven’t caught Wheatus’ “Teenage Dirtbag” music video ever, I just have two words for you: Bucket hat. (Actually, that’s something Christina Aguilera also probably remembers from her “Genie in a Bottle” years.)

Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears have known each other since their pre-teen days on the star-studded The All-New Mickey Mouse Club and, while their relationship might not be as tumultuous as the lawyer-filled feud Spears has with little sister Jamie Lynn Spears, there’s always been an air of rivalry between the ‘90s pop stars. Aguilera opened up about her relationship with the “Toxic” singer, and gave her honest opinion on the end of Britney’s conservatorship.

The “Genie in a Bottle” singer has been vocally supportive of the “Free Britney” movement, and Christina Aguilera spoke out on Twitter during the trial that led to the end of Britney Spears’ conservatorship last year. In an interview with radio host Enrique Santos, Christina Aguilera again voiced her support for Spears and said she couldn’t be happier for her:

Christina Aguilera acknowledged that Britney Spears deserves to be in charge of her own life and is happy that she finally is empowered in that way, but the “Lady Marmalade” singer was still apprehensive to speak too much on the subject. 

In the days following the end of her conservatorship, Britney Spears called Christina Aguilera out for not commenting on the abuse the former had suffered over the past 13 years, after Aguilera said only that she was “happy” for her former co-star as she was being pulled away from a red carpet interview at the Latin Grammys. Britney Spears shared a photo of Aguilera on social media, saying, in part, “Refusing to speak when you know the truth is equivalent to a lie.” 

While the actress and singer may not want to speak publicly about what the "Oops!... I Did It Again" songstress endured for fear of talking out of turn, the former Voice coach told Enrique Santos that her fellow pop singer can always reach out to her, and that their shared experience of growing up in that business gives them a certain understanding of each other’s circumstances:

Britney Spears hasn’t responded publicly to Christina Aguilera’s latest comments, but hopefully there’s no bad blood between them and she feels that she can reach out to her fellow pop star. Spears has definitely been through a lot, and the months since her conservatorship ended haven’t always been easy, with Exhibit A being the accusations fired back and forth between Spears and her sister. Spears continues to need people in her corner, and it would be nice to have someone around who's been around from the beginning. 

As many will recall, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera both came up in in the music industry as teens around the same time in the late 90s. They produced hit after hit, earned award after award, and undeniably shook up the pop genre as we know it now. The two singers even collaborated together at one point, which culminated in their infamous performance with Madonna at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards. The lip-locking moment is reportedly the genesis of a feud between the icons that appears to continue today. Lately, Spears has taken issue with the "Genie in a Bottle" singer refusing to comment on the “Free Britney” movement on the red carpet.

On her Instagram stories, Britney Spears yet again took to calling out those she perceived as slighting her. She posted a clip of Christina Aguilera from the Latin Grammys red carpet, who was being asked by reporters about her former collaborator. Though Aguilera was getting pulled away and stated that she couldn't comment further, she did share that she was “happy” Spears was released from her conservatorship recently. But apparently, Spears took offense to the statement and decided to call Aguilera for not saying more. See her post below:

The "Oops!... I Did It Again" singer made her first public statement in court concerning her conservatorship in June, and many were shocked to hear that the singer felt unsafe and unduly controlled in the situation. Some celebs rallied to her defense, including Paris Hilton and Miley Cyrus. Christina Aguilera was one of them as well, despite Spears’ insinuations in her recent post. In June, Aguilera actually wrote a lengthy Twitter thread in response to the newly released details, some of which read:

In contrast to her criticism of the former Voice coach's lack of commentary of late, Britney Spears simultaneously gushed over a clip of Lady Gaga speaking out in support of her at a House of Gucci red carpet premiere. Gaga said that the way Spears was treated in the music industry was “really wrong” but that the singer “will forever be an inspiration to women.” Spears responded with the caption on her Instagram stories:

The pop singer’s conservatorship finally ended last week after a judge ruled that it was no longer necessary. Britney Spears has been celebrating and posting non-stop ever since. She even teased in one of her last posts that she might do a tell-all Oprah interview some time down the road. Hopefully, the supposed rift between Spears and Christina Aguilera can be addressed, if not smoothed over, in the future, too.

Britney Spears’ televised court testimony was a watershed moment for the pop superstar and her fans that have been following the case surrounding her controversial conservatorship. Her moving testimony led many celebs in the entertainment industry to throw their support behind the embattled Spears, and that group includes former Voice coach Christina Aguilera, who was once seen as quasi-rival to Spears in the pop music sphere.

Christina Aguilera finally spoke out about Britney Spears' personal and legal struggles, taking to her Twitter to show support for her former Mickey Mouse Club co-star in a multi-tweet thread. Aguilera opened up about Spears’ current circumstances being on her mind recently, and touched upon the autonomy over women’s bodies and other hot-button issues. Having been friends since their MMC days, it was awesome to see Christina Aguilera throw her support behind Spears’ legal battle. Because if anybody would know the pressure Britney Spears has faced from the public, if not Spears' particular family-oriented situation, it’s Aguilera. The Grammy winner came off as a concerned friend who finally grasped a full peek behind the curtain, and her reaction was a positive sign of camaraderie, proving this situation goes beyond any career-based rivalries.

Both women were the center of the late 1990s teen pop explosion, competing for everything from magazine covers to Grammy Awards. Such quick vaults to fame, combined with overabundant press coverage, led to Christina Aguilera friendship with Britney Spears crumbling under the spotlights. But in the last decade or so, the women have been far more quick to praise one another, seemingly putting their personal squabbles in the past, and it’s touching to see Aguilera share a real reaction to it all, as opposed to a quickly crafted tweet of platitudes.

After coming to Spears’ defense, Christina Aguilera continued to advocate for Britney Spears’ rights as a human being. The Grammy-winning singer said about Spear’s controversial conservatorship:

Christina Aguilera’s words to Britney Spears spoke volumes when compared to other commentaries on Spears’ case and the #FreeBritney movement from those outside the industry, including the "Framing Britney Spears" documentary. Aguilera has been opening up more about her own struggles in the entertainment industry, so it was encouraging to see the Grammy-winning singer put her full support behind Britney Spears' quest for independence.

The late '90s to early 2000s pop and R&B music scene was truly one to behold. There was "Baby One More Time," "Lady Marmalade," "No Scrubs" -- just too many bops to process. The appreciation for the music doesn’t really change, but the perception of style and body types has ended up shifting somewhat. As for Christina Aguilera, she has become more and more vocal as an advocate for body positivity and curves. She put up her middle fingers to the idea of turning 40 last year, saying she “embraced” the idea of “getting older.” Her naked bubble bath Instagram pic as an ode to 40 was downright jaw-dropping and just as confident as “Genie In A Bottle,” if not more so.

The “Reflection” singer went a bit viral previously this week when she did another ode to confidence and curves. She posted a video compilation of herself posing in stunningly form-fitting outfits as Megan thee Stallion’s “Girls In the Hood” played in the background. Christina Aguilera has a late-in-the-year birthday, and this year in particular was special as she celebrated her 40th. Following a video Christina Aguilera posted to her Instagram on New Year’s Day in which she noted, ‘I’m not turning 40; I’m arriving at 40,” the popular The Voice mentor decided to take some me time in a bathtub. She did so while wearing a cowboy hat and sipping champagne, as one is wont to do.

Normally New Year’s is spent out with friends, possibly doing something that requires fancy dress. The year 2020 has been a little different all around, and while some of y’all may have dressed up, we also saw a litany of celebrities who seemed to spend the holiday social distancing, including S.W.A.T.’s Shemar Moore, who is currently fighting Covid-19. I’m certainly not begrudging anyone who took some “me” time as part of their 2021 celebrations.

Christina Aguilera’s not the only who’s been spending time in the buff lately, as Dune’s Josh Brolin got nude in nature before the big ball dropped on live TV this past year. In his case, the actor was missing the bubbles and the cowboy hat, though.

Meanwhile, although Christina Aguilera’s post dropped after New Year’s Eve, she certainly at least kicked off the year in a memorable way, also noting on social media that it’s a New Year and she’s bringing a new “energy.” She's said about 40 that she's "embraced" the number as well.

After the long year we’ve had, she’s not the only one with resolve as we’ve hit 2021. Candace Cameron Bure also revealed she’s looking forward to “respect[ing] my family time more” than she had previously with her busy career in an interview with Us Magazine. And James Corden joined Weight Watchers, resolving to get healthy in 2021.

We’ll have to wait and see if various celebrities end up sticking with their resolutions over the long haul, though the goals we've seen so far have been admirable. Regardless, Christina Aguilera isn’t the type of person to sit around and wait for things to happen to her. The singer kept busy in 2020 by recording a track for Disney’s Mulan live-action remake and headlining a Las Vegas residency before the pandemic struck. Christina Aguilera has been very vocal as she’s approached a big birthday milestone this past week and on Friday the big day came. The "Reflections" singer and former The Voice mentor hit the big 4-0 and celebrated with a series of posts talking about embracing her age… with a couple of middle fingers and a catsuit, of course.

In a series of posts over the weekend, Christina Aguilera shared details about what 40 means to her, both from a mental and a physical perspective. Her last look was at her badass birthday nails and she made no bones about throwing up her middle fingers on her birthday.

Christina Aguilera also shared a post with her fans explaining what turning 40 has meant to her. In fact, she seems to be pretty positive about the direction her life is going in as she hits the momentous milestone. She called herself “humbled” and “blessed” on her Instagram account, also revealing:

Christina Aguilera has always been open and candid about empowering herself and for hoping to set herself up as a celebrity in a way that she can be a role model for other women to do the same thing. She noted around the time her movie Burlesque came out that there has always been a double standard when it comes to sexuality, telling CinemaBlend that she’s always wanted to champion empowerment ideas.

As part of her 40th birthday celebration, she also took to social media to show off a brand new look in a catsuit, confidently showing off her curve-hugging look while strutting to a Megan Thee Stallion track. Anyone who can capably rock those heels at 40, much less a catsuit, should be feeling pretty good about themselves.

It’s been a big year for 40th birthday celebrations. Recently, Kim Kardashian also went all out for her 40th birthday, in her case sharing an epic bikini pic and images from a private trip with some of her nearest and dearest friends and family. While Christina Aguilera doesn’t seem to have celebrated on a private island, it looks like she had the best time nonetheless.

Meanwhile, Christina Aguilera isn’t the only singer from her era to be close to or reaching 40. Britney Spears just turned 39 earlier this month and Justin Timberlake will turn 40 in January. Nick Carter already hit his 40th birthday back in January of this year. I guess these days the former pop stars are all kissing their youths bye bye bye.

The first time Disney released a movie called Mulan, Christina Aguilera was only 16-year-old aspiring singer looking to nab her big recording break. RCA Records turned her down due to financial difficulties in the late ‘90s, so Aguilera decided to send Disney a rendition of Whitney Houston’s “Run To You” as an audition to sing the Mulan's signature song. She was selected to record “Reflection,” and the rest is history. It helped launch her massive pop star career that still is very much alive today.

Over twenty years later, Disney has remade Mulan in stunning live-action, and Aguilera is once again on the soundtrack. She wrote the new end-credits song “Loyal Brave True” and re-recorded a new version of “Reflection” for the soundtrack. She spoke about the honor to ET with these words:

The release of Mulan gives Christina Aguilera a chance to reflect on her career (ha… sorry I had to) and, two decades later, she feels like the Disney character really embodies what she has been writing about all along. “Fighter” was a major single for her in the early days, and she has continued to write empowering music that Mulan would likely jam to on horseback rides, if CDs had been part of Imperial China anyway.

Aguilera, now a best-selling and Grammy-winning artist, has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and is famous for judging artists on The Voice. Now, she gets to share her Mulan experience with her kids – her son Max is 12 and daughter Summer is 5. She continued with these words:

Disney itself has been a huge part of her career from the beginning since she started with the studio at age 11 for its reboot of the Mickey Mouse Club alongside young Ryan Gosling, Keri Russell, Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears. It’s become somewhat of a tradition for the original artists from ‘90s Disney films to contribute to the live-action versions. Composer Alan Menken returned to write songs for Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin and is also contributing to the upcoming Little Mermaid. Conversely, Elton John slammed The Lion King filmmakers for their treatment of his music, wishing he had been “invited to the party more.”

Mulan is available to view until November 2 for $29.99 and will drop on Disney+ without charge in December.

While Disney’s upcoming Mulan remake is hitting the same basic story beats as its animated predecessor, unlike many of the Mouse House’s other live-action remakes from within the last decade, this movie is taking a lot of creative liberties. This includes the new Mulan, which will be accessible on Disney+ in the United States, not being a musical; instead, instrumental versions of songs from 1998’s Mulan will be featured.

However, that doesn’t mean that songs from the original Mulan, lyrics and all, can’t be belted out separately from the main feature. Case in point, Christina Aguilera, who recorded “Reflection” as her debut single when the animated Mulan came out, has re-recorded that same song for the live-action remake, which you can listen to below:

Christina Aguilera was just 17 years old when her first version of “Reflection” came out, and with it eventually charting #19 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart, the song played a huge role in propelling her to worldwide stardom. 22 years later, and now 39 years old, Aguilera now gets to tackle “Reflection” again for a new generation.

This music video seems to have a higher production value than the one from the late ‘90s, although how it musically measures up to the original will depend on the listener. Feel free to listen to Aguilera’s original recording of “Reflection” in you’re in the comparing mood:

It’s unclear if Christina Aguilera’s new take on “Reflection” will play during the Mulan remake’s credits, as her earlier version did in the animated Mulan, but according to Matthew Wilder, who co-wrote the original movie’s songs, the instrumental version of “Reflection” “thematically plays a large part” in the remake. Aguilera also recorded another song for the new Mulan called “Loyal Brave True.”

Disney first explored the prospect of a live-action Mulan remake in 2010, but it wasn’t until 2015 that the current iteration of the project started coming together. Along with not boasting any musical numbers, much of the remakes supporting cast consists of brand-new characters, and Mushu, Mulan’s miniature dragon sidekick from the original movie who was voiced by Eddie Murphy, will not be present.

Mulan’s main cast includes Liu Yifei, Donnie Yen, Jason Scott Lee, Yoson An, Gong Li, Jet Li, Tzi Ma, Rosalind Chao and Nelson Lee, among others. Whale Rider’s Niki Caro directed the picture, and Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver, Lauren Hynek and Elizabeth Martin all worked on the script. At the start of 2020, the plan was for Mulan to be released on March 27, but due to global health concerns, it bounced around the calendar for a bit before landing on its current date.

Mulan will be available to Disney+ subscribers for $29.99 in the U.S. starting September 4 (if you’re not already subscribed, you can do so here), and will also be theatrically released in various other countries. NBC's The Voice has been a hit for the network for some time, and with each passing season the show pulls more and more celebrity talent. With success comes money, which in turn is flipped to help pay the talented singers that put their careers on hold to mentor and coach other hopeful singers.

Depending on who you are, appearing on The Voice can be a lucrative business. This is especially true in the case of Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, and the rest of The Voice coaches, who reportedly make a pretty penny in a season of the singing competition. Here's what we know in regards to what the coaches pull in on an average season.

Blake Shelton

Blake Shelton has been with The Voice since the show's beginning, and has made quite a bit of money during his tenure. It was reported by The Wrap that he and Adam Levine renegotiated their deals in 2016, and upped their salaries to be around $13 million a season. Since there are two seasons filmed in a calendar year, that rounds out to a grand total of around $26 million.

With that being said, it's fair to speculate that Blake Shelton is making even more on The Voice in 2019. It was said he and girlfriend Gwen Stefani received a considerable pay bump by NBC (via CelebrityInsider) to play up their relationship on the show in Season 12, and that's happening once again in Season 17. Gwen won't be around for the first season of the next calendar year (she'll be replaced by Nick Jonas), but one would think Shelton will be pulling in over $13 million for at least Season 17.

Kelly Clarkson

Kelly Clarkson has been a fan favorite coach on The Voice since her debut, and it isn't hard to see why. She's been a shining beacon of positivity since she landed in a red chair in Season 14, and has won 2 of the past 3 seasons she's been in. News surfaced ahead of her debut in Season 14 (via Radar) that she was looking at a payday of $14 million a season for coming on the show.

In 2019, one would have to think Kelly Clarkson is making more on The Voice. She has her own talk show at NBC, so that could be incentive enough for the network to give her a pay bump to make up for the singer giving so much time to create content for the singing competition. Plus, the thought that American Idol would have some interest in getting one of its most iconic winners back as a judge is a possibility, so this pay likely keeps her out of its clutches.

John Legend

The Voice made a big deal when John Legend joined the competition, and it isn't hard to see why. Legend is an EGOT winner (meaning he's won at least one each of an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony) which basically makes him the ultimate mentor for all the hopeful contestants that want to make a name for themselves. One would think that, given Legend's credentials, his pay on The Voice would be pretty high.

With that being said, there haven't been any reports on what John Legend had made since he joined The Voice full time in 2016. It wouldn't be surprising to learn his pay is somewhere around that of Kelly Clarkson and Blake Shelton, given his accolades within the industry, but past coaches on the show (like Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys) have allegedly pulled in salaries below $10 million. A conservative estimate would be that Legend is making anywhere from $7-$14 million a season, but this is just speculation.

Gwen Stefani

Gwen Stefani has been in and out of The Voice during its run, and has reportedly scored sizable paydays the last couple of times she was a coach. Stefani was reportedly paid $10 million for her first go-round (Season 7) which is typically higher than most first-time coaches on the show. Then her pay reportedly (via CheatSheet) ballooned up to $13 million in Season 12, as she and beau Blake Shelton negotiated a sweet deal to play up their romance.

Stefani popped back in the franchise following Adam Levine's exit, and while we don't know for sure, one would think the entertaining pop star could've negotiated a sweet deal for her latest season on The Voice. Something above $13 million doesn't feel out of the question, especially given that the show no longer had to pay Levine after that season. Plus, Gwen Stefani will be exiting once more after this season, so the show could potentially pay less for first time judge Nick Jonas the following season and still come out ahead on what it would've paid Levine.

Adam Levine

Though he's no longer with The Voice, it's worth mentioning Adam Levine as he was one of the show's most-prolific and highest paid coaches. Word is that Levine walked away from a big payday when he left The Voice, with many outlets reporting that he was pulling in $14 million a season. Why would the Maroon 5 front man walk away from such a big check?

There's been a lot of debate on what lead to his unexpected exit, and whether it was Adam Levine's or NBC's decision. There were reports of Levine embarrassing executives at upfronts, and also rumors that his "frenemy" rivalry with Blake Shelton was a lot more vitriolic behind the scenes than what audiences saw on television. Ultimately, Levine is doing fine post-exit and enjoying the time off, and who knows, he may one day return to The Voice once whatever led to his exit blows over.

Christina Aguilera

Christina Aguilera hasn't been on The Voice since Season 10, but she's worth mentioning while we're talking about coaches and pay. The pop star is reportedly one of the highest paid coaches to appear on the show. Her Season 3 salary (via The Wrap) was a whopping $17 million. Aguilera later took a pay cut closer to $12.5 million around Season 5, which put her below Adam Levine and Blake Shelton.

Like Levine, Christina Aguilera has since left the show, citing a need to move on from the NBC singing competition. There was nothing "dirty" about this exit, though Aguilera did say she felt the show was more about creating good television than fostering a successful music career for contestants. Chances are she probably won't return to the show after those comments.

As Christina Aguilera admits during a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the beef between her and Britney Spears would probably be short-lived through modern social media, where they could put out their fires and make a song together, squashing all the bitter feelings felt between them.

Christina Aguilera admits that it took her a while before she warmed up to the idea of social media. At first, she found the whole idea pretty "vain," particularly the trend of sharing selfies and chatting the long hours away talking about oneself. But when she realized that it gave the artist an incredible platform where she could engage with fans around the world at any given time, Aguilera started to see the plus side to being present on social media. She also admits that social media is a great platform for squashing beef. If social media were around when the media was comparing Aguilera to other artists, notably Britney Spears, the "Can't Hold Us Down" singer believes things would be a whole lot different, particular between her and Britney.

Christina Aguilera is the mother of Max Liron (10), whom she shares with her ex-husband, Jordan Bratman, and Summer Rain (3), the child she shares with her fiancee Max Rutler. Liberation is Aguilera's first original music since the release of 2012's Lotus.

Meanwhile, Christina Aguilera has spent more time in front of the cameras than behind the scenes at the studio lately. She was a primary member of the aforementioned The Voice from 2011 until 2016, and she admits that she has no desire to return to the music-centric reality TV series since she believes it's no longer focused on the music anymore. Meanwhile, as an actress, Christina Aguilera was recently seen in Life of the Party earlier this year. She was also heard in The Emoji Movie last year as well. Aguilera is also soon set to be seen in the upcoming sci-fi romance Zoe on July 20th. She also had a guest star role on Nashville, and she also appeared in Pitch Perfect 2 a few years earlier.

Christina Aguilera's upcoming Liberation tour, meanwhile, will begin on September 25th in Hollywood, FL at the Hard Rock Event Center. She will be touring throughout the United States until November 13th, when she'll be performing her final leg of the tour in St. Petersberg, FL at the Mahaffey Theater. Jimmy Fallon is always full of surprises on The Tonight Show, and one of those occasional surprises is a segment where a mega-star musical act joins Fallon to "busk" in a New York City subway station. This time, he brought the golden-throated Christina Aguilera along for the ride, as the two collaborated in disguise to perform two songs. Watch how the passersby react when Aguilera starts belting out Aretha Franklin's "Think" in the video below:

There are two immediate takeaways from this video. First, this Tonight Show segment is a genius way to attract attention. Second of all, can you imagine all of the thoughts that must have been going through people's minds as they heard this performance? They may have been wondering if this singer had a record deal, and if not -- why the industry was dropping the ball so hard. They also may have thought they were capturing footage that would eventually lead to the mystery performer getting a career boost. It was a viral moment in the making, for sure, but just not the one they thought they were capturing.

Plus, it was neat to see how quickly people realized the vocal talent they were hearing and began encircling accordingly. Also terrifically heart-warming were all the reactions the onlookers had to the confirmation that it was, in fact, Christina Aguilera belting those jams out. Moments like that never cease to give me chills. Given how distinctive Aguilera's voice is, you have to imagine some of them suspected it was her, or maybe Ariana Grande doing another spot-on impression of the singer.

Christina Aguilera is not the first artist to busk with Jimmy Fallon. Miley Cyrus, Maroon 5, and U2 have done it with him as well, with each earning similarly flabbergasted reactions. Of course, you have to wonder how much longer Fallon and his musical guests will be able to fool anyone. Hopefully for a lot longer, since it is such an entertaining segment. Perhaps they could try for other locations behind just the NYC subway, too. There is arguably always room for disbelief wherever they go, since people will probably still have a hard time believing it is actually happening to them.

Not to speak ill of Carpool Karaoke, but there is something to be said for Jimmy Fallon's segment letting the artists surprise people while being out among them. Thanks to The Tonight Show, you can never really know when that one subway artist seeming to busk is actually a global superstar. (Though you can assume it won't be 99.9% of the time.) It will be fun to see who pops up next. Adele? Beyonce? Ariana Grande? Bruno Mars? Stay tuned.

Christina Aguilera is opening up about her time on NBC's The Voice and whether she would return to the series. The show premiered in 2011, and Aguilera was one of the series' four original coaches. She remained on the show in an on-again/off-again capacity until 2016, when she indefinitely vacated her seat in one of the big red chairs in Season 10. It was the same season she finally won the competition as a coach. When asked about whether she would consider returning to the reality competition, Aguilera demurred before saying:

American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson is currently sitting in one of the red chairs with Christina Aguilera showing no signs of a desire to return. During Aguilera's initial breaks from The Voice, Shakira and Gwen Stefani replaced her. Then, Miley Cyrus joined the show. Besides Blake Shelton and Adam Levine, the remaining seats have been in a game of musical chairs. Despite Aguilera's absence, The Voice continues to be a ratings magnet for NBC.

Since leaving the show, the singer has been hard at work on her latest album, Liberation. It is her first album in six years. Eight years have passed since her acting debut in the musical Burlesque. She is getting ready to dive back into the acting world with a role in the upcoming sci-fi romance Zoe, which stars Ewan McGregor and Lea Seydoux.

Christina Aguilera is planning to go on tour to support her new album. That means leaving behind the stability of television and heading back on the road. She explained the decision to stay at The Voice as long as she did:

Over the weekend social media was abuzz with talk of Christina Aguilera performing a tribute to Whitney Houston during the 2017 American Music Awards. Throughout the performance, the camera scanned the audience and found Pink, Aguilera's friend (and former frenemy). The first time the camera caught Pink, we saw a facial expression that revealed happiness but could have been misconstrued to show Pink cringing as if a bee were stinging her (or as if she hated Aguilera's medley). Social media users weighed in. Did Pink throw shade at Aguilera, or did the performance move her? Pink had the final word:

There you have it. Pink adored the Christina Aguilera tribute to Whitney Houston. Some social media haters tried to tear down the performance, but Pink was not among them. Pink did not need to explain her perspective on Twitter, but it is good she did. She has said several times the feud between her and Aguilera is old news. The two now are career compadres and even collaborated on a new song. Besides, Pink had more critical issues to worry about, such as the duet she sang with Kelly Clarkson and the aerial-acrobatics performance she gave while dancing on the side of a 34-floor skyscraper.

Regardless, Pink recently expressed disliking stories about women feuding, so it is great she killed this controversy. She and Christina Aguilera now are friends, so it was good to see her give Xtina support during her moment. Speaking of which, Aguilera was on an emotional high after the tribute, in which she sang Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You," "I Have Nothing," "Run To You," and "I'm Every Woman." The critics on social media did not faze the "Fighter" singer. Instead, Aguilera tweeted love for the AMAs, the audience, and Whitney Houston:

Yes, the look Pink gave could be taken out of context with screenshots to make it seem like she was grimacing. However, if you watch the entire medley, you see the camera scan by Pink several times. Each time, Pink appeared more and more into the performance before she joined the rest of the audience in giving Christina Aguilera a standing ovation. Watch in full here:

Last month, Pink talked about how she and Christina Aguilera buried the hatchet and put their feud behind them. She told Andy Cohen things were not always amicable, and Aguilera once tried to start a physical brawl with her at a nightclub. But that was in the early 2000s. Over the years, Pink and Aguilera developed a mutual appreciation for each other, especially when they both became moms.

Earlier this year, Pink and Aguilera worked together on The Voice. Pink cited that particular moment as a huge turning point. Pink said she and Aguilera had come full circle from their early days when they were beefing behind the scenes while outwardly pretending to get along to promote "Lady Marmalade" with Lil' Kim and Mya for the Moulin Rouge soundtrack.

Here's hoping we see more celebrities respond in timely ways when purported controversies pop up. It says a lot about Pink's character that she quickly put the kibosh on it. The fact she and Christina Aguilera have come so far is terrific.

Pink and Christina Aguilera have a long, storied history of ups and downs. The pop stars met in the early years of their careers, and they collaborated on one of the biggest Grammy Award-winning songs of all time, "Lady Marmalade." Regardless, the association was rough behind the scenes. Today things are better between the divas, but according to Pink, the relationship once was such a disaster that Aguilera tried to punch her. Pink explained,

Pink told Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen that she and Christina Aguilera were alphas when they were younger. Pink said that she, herself, was used to taking out her frustration in physical ways, while Aguilera was the kind of person who would take out her frustrations in a verbal manner. It was a recipe for disaster when the two big personalities brought their big voices (and big egos) into the studio to create a big song.

The two rose to fame at the same time around 1999, and they begrudgingly collaborated on "Lady Marmalade" for the Moulin Rouge soundtrack. Pink did not say when the throwdown in the club happened, so we can't tell if it was before or after they won their Grammy with Mya and Lil' Kim. However, we can guess that it took place during their wildest days in their early twenties.

Back in the day, Pink used to tell a story of how annoying it was when Christina Aguilera came into the studio with her manager to create "Lady Marmalade." Pink would say that the manager tried to tip every aspect of the song in Aguilera's favor, which irritated Pink to no end. Then when Aguilera received help from music producer Linda Perry on her Stripped album, Pink felt resentment that nearly destroyed her friendship with Perry. Today, Pink says she and Perry are cordial, but there were years when she hated the fact Perry had worked with Aguilera.

But Pink has long since moved on. She told Andy Cohen "women have to learn how to support each other" because it does not come naturally to everyone. Luckily, she and Christina Aguilera figured it out, and in fact, Pink said they made amends on The Voice. This information echoes what Pink previously told reporters after she stopped by The Voice. She told reporters she enjoyed working with Christina Aguilera more than any of the other judges on the show, and she called it "a full circle moment" after 15 years of feuding. Pink told ET the feeling between her and her former industry enemy was "true love," and she even called herself "a fan" of Aguilera's and said the experience was a "refreshing, nice visit."

Both Pink and Christina Aguilera have said in other interviews that their shared experiences as moms helped them overcome their differences. It is excellent to hear that Pink and Christina Aguilera have worked out their animosity and left their feud in the past, and it is even more exciting to know they collaborated again. Hopefully, we will get a chance to hear that new song sooner than later.

Over the last few years, hologram technology has allowed artists to spice up performances on the stage by seemingly bringing people back to life. Michael Jackson appeared in hologram form at the Billboard musical awards. Tupac made an impromptu appearance at Coachella. Recently, we learned that NBC’s The Voice had a special hologram appearance featuring Whitney Houston planned, but unfortunately, we won’t get to see what a Whitney hologram might look like on the small screen. Reports this weekend indicate Houston’s family ultimately decided to cut the hologram due to concerns about its quality. More below.

Christina Aguilera and Whitney Houston were reportedly set to sing a medley of the late singer’s hits, but Whitney’s family eventually put the kibosh on the whole deal because the hologram wasn’t up to snuff. In fact, her family is saying the hologram simply looked nothing like Whitney Houston and thus did not earn their stamp of approval, meaning this had nothing to do with the performance itself. Telling NBC to shove off? That’s some real power.

If you've been keeping tabs on the series, rumors over the past few days had been swirling regarding a proposed duet between Whitney Houston and The Voice’s judge Christina Aguilera. Aguilera’s performed on the NBC singing competition numerous times during its run, so that’s old hat, but throwing in a hologram of a deceased diva singer meant The Voice had our attention. Unfortunately, TMZ is now confirming the rumors that a hologram performance was planned on the NBC series, but unfortunately, we won’t actually get to see it.

The “surprise” was set for this Monday’s finale of The Voice, meaning I bet there are some creative types scrambling to figure out what else to do to make the Season 10 finale a little more special than the average episode. I don’t know how long it takes to achieve the hologram effects, but theoretically, there are a lot of dead singers that would be awesome to see Christina Aguilera duet with should their families wish to see said artists live on in that sort of capacity. I'm guessing this might be a gimmick we may need to wait until at least next season for, however.

The Voice finale airs Monday night at 8 p.m. ET, only on NBC. Don't fret though, the veteran series has already been renewed for Season 11, and Miley Cyrus will feature prominently as a judge. Whether or whether not a hologram will make an appearance remains to be seen.

Spike’s Lip Sync Battle has absolutely been crushing it this season, with dance offs and plenty of celebrities dressing up as their favorite pop stars. Recently, The Big Bang Theory’s Kaley Cuoco dressed up as Brit Brit and this week Nashville star Hayden Panettiere decided to dress up as Britney Spears’ rival, Christina Aguilera. Her song of choice? “Lady Marmalade,” of course. You can give it a watch, below.

You gotta give a hand to Nashville’s Hayden Panettiere, here. It’s tough to wear a corset and a wig like that, and her makeup is pretty true to the crazy pink shadow Christina Aguilera wore when she filmed the “Lady Marmalade” video with Lil’ Kim, Maya and Pink back in the early 2000s. Still, if there’s one thing this video proves, it’s that Christina has the ability to make trashy look glam. Hayden Panettiere decidedly does not have that gift. That wig looks a lot more cartoon-y than the actual “Lady Marmalade” performer, but luckily the Nashville star has an even better gift to give Christina Aguilera fans: Christina Aguilera herself.

If you are paying close attention to the video, some of the background performers bring out a “surprise,” if you will, as Hayden Panettiere is shimmying around. Soon, it becomes apparent that it’s Christina Aguilera herself who is making an appearance, similar to how Jennifer Lopez popped up in Anna Kendrick’s Lip Sync Battle stint last year. Aguilera actually really engages with the performance, though, and whatever you think about this battle, the two women are having a lot of fun onstage.

Lip Sync Battle is currently airing its second season on Spike, and there have been plenty of memorable moments, doubtless prompting Spike to renew the series for a third season way ahead of time. Yes, this means we'll be getting new episodes of Lip Sync Battle (doubtless next fall), but for now there are luckily a few more episodes set to air during Season 2 of the hit series. Next week, for instance, Gabriel Iglesias and Randy Couture are going to square off. Other new battles are expected to follow.

Jimmy Fallon’s “Wheel of Musical Impressions” sketch showcases the talent of singers who are good at mimicking other singers. Last night, Christina Aguilera popped up on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to promote the new season of The Voice and ended up getting roped into a “Musical Impressions” challenge that featured a Britney Spears impression. You can watch her and Fallon square off, below.

I wasn’t sure anyone could ever beat Adam Levine’s Michal Jackson impression, but as a Voice coach, Christina is competitive in nature, and was sure willing to give Levine (also a Voice coach) a run for his money. In the segment, she warms up with Cher singing the Folgers jingle. However, then she’s given the task of mimicking Britney Spears singing “This Little Piggy” to the tune of “Baby One More Time.” That’s kind-of a lot of things going on at once, but Christina absolutely crushes her Britt Britt impersonation.

Fallon’s notably impressed by the impression, and we should be amused, too. Back in the day, before Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears both grew up and had children, the two pop singers were engaged in a bitter feud that was consistently fueled by tabloid rumors. There was even one time when an MTV VMAs kiss with Madonna caused some problems between Christina and Britney after the media focused on the Spears and Madonna kiss. The two singers clearly aren’t making headlines and have their own lives at this point, but there’s something uniquely engaging about seeing Christina Aguilera mimic her former competitor.

While the Britney Spears impression is clearly the highlight of this “Wheel of Musical Impressions,” Fallon holds his own with a pretty good David Bowie, and toward the end the two duet as Michael McDonald and (other fellow Voice coach) Shakira to sing the “Golden Girls Theme Song.” If only every episode of The Tonight Show could feature such excellent impressions…

Luckily, Jimmy Fallon is quite fond of games. Other favorites include “Box of Lies” and “Password.” The recurring nature of most of these bits means that more “Wheel of Musical Impressions” is likely in our future. Whoever takes on the challenge next has some big shoes to fill, however.

The Voice is switching up coaches for its eighth season. While the show has featured a rotating crew of four coaches, this spring’s series will be fairly close to the original lineup that launched The Voice just a few short years ago. Christina Aguilera will be returning to NBC’s singing competition series, joining other originals Blake Shelton and Adam Levine. Pharrell Williams will also be back, making him the relative newbie among three veterans.

While Shelton and Levine have stayed steadfast and true to The Voice and the paycheck and exposure it provides, Aguilera has taken breaks from the series on several occasions. She left in Seasons 4 and 6, handing over the reins to Shakira, who replaced her on the coaches panel. She currently isn’t appearing on the seventh season of the hit show for a very different reason. In August, Aguilera had a baby girl. With a new kid in the house, it would have been very difficult to make the grueling The Voice schedule work.

In her place, this time Gwen Stefani has signed on for the gig. She doesn’t have the vocal temperament that Aguilera has and uses to try to domineer the boys on the show. She also tends to focus a lot on stylizing and performance, since she herself is more of a brand than a set of huge pipes. Season 7 has definitely been a change up for the series, but many people should be interested in the return of Aguilera.

Honestly, what I feel would be most interesting would be a panel with a couple of girls around Shelton and Levine (who look to be going nowhere). Whether that would mean bringing Shakira back or adding a new lady with a famous voice to the panel, I think it would be interesting to see how two female coaches face off during the early rounds on the series when they are still vying for contestants. I’m not sure if The Voice simply feels the female to male ratio on the show is already working, or if the scheduling simply hasn’t worked out to have two leading ladies appear. Although NBC’s series does feature a revolving door of coaches, most of them seem interested in the gig and return for more than one season, thus scheduling conflicts could be the one thing keeping us from two female coaches.

Whatever the reason, The Voice will return in 2015 with its regular lineup of three male coaches and one female coach. Pharrell Williams will be back for his second season in the red chair, Aguilera will be back for her fifth season and Levine and Shelton will be back for their eighth. Season 7 is currently still in the battle rounds, so it should be some time before NBC starts gearing up for Season 8, but we will let you know when the new episodes plan to premiere during midseason.

In the meantime, you can catch new episodes of NBC’s The Voice on Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET.

The Voice has done a lot of things for NBC, as well as to shake-up the reality competition field, but the show hasn’t yet produced a serious hitmaker, when compared to singing competition shows like American Idol. Even The X Factor recently saw runner-up Fifth Harmony hit over a million page views on YouTube for the group’s new single. Although The Voice contestants haven’t gained quite as much prominence, judges Adam Levine and Christina Aguilera still defend the format and purpose of the show.

As noted by singing competitions in the past, winning a season doesn’t always mean a person will become famous. Additionally, other people who have managed to make a presence on a series but not win the overall competition have done quite well in their careers following the show. As Levine noted at The Voice's recent TCA conference, it’s more difficult than you might think to become famous overnight.

According to Boston, Aguilera also says it takes work to get into the business and make a name for yourself.

The Voice is great exposure for contestants, helping them to get their names out into the universe and get their unique vocals into the public eye. However, if The Voice is constantly failing to produce winners that the overall populace cares about while other shows have, this could prove to be a knock to The Voice’s overall ratings. Additionally, if The Voice can’t produce a star, why would major vocal talent keep returning to the show?

It’s not that Aguilera and Levine are wrong about The Voice. It is their specific job as judges to do the best they can for the talent offered and to choose the best voices in the pool to appear on the show. It is also tough to break into the music business, just as it is tough to remain relevant once a person or group has had a big hit. It’s not that the show is lacking in talent; in fact, The Voice has had some great voices—Season 4 winner Danielle Bradbery among them. The problem is that the show hasn’t signed on any names and faces that people care about in the long run, which could affect the show’s ratings sooner or later. Bradbery's first single only has earned 158,000 YouTube views, which isn't bad, but isn't wildly successful, either.

One of the problems with The Voice may be that the show isn’t as well-connected to the behind-the-scenes portion of the music industry. While Shelton, Aguilera, Levine, and Cee Lo Green are all great singers and/or musicians, they aren’t music producers or business guys like some judges on other singing competition shows have been. Looking for the best voice isn’t always the same thing as looking for the most commercial voice, and that could help to explain why The Voice has seen its share of challenges. Still, an argument could be made that prize money should be given out while skipping the recording contract if the series can't produce a star. It's sort of embarrassing for the series that Season 2 winner Jermaine Paul's album still hasn't been released.

Right now, ratings are high and Season 5 could yet prove to be the year that pulls everything together for the series. The Voice returns to NBC's schedule on Monday, September 23 at 8 p.m. ET.

While American Idol may be looking at a complete judges-table overhaul, The Voice is going back to its original judges line-up for its upcoming fifth season this fall. Where does that leave Shakira and Usher? They'll be back for Season 6. Host Carson Daly has been confirmed to resume his duties for both of the upcoming seasons of the NBC singing competition.

NBC made the news official today, confirming the return of the four original judges (Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green) while also ensuring that newcomers Shakira and Usher will be back in the spring.

Confirmation of Aguilera and Cee Lo's return isn't exactly surprising news. When the two artists departed the show ahead of Season 4, it was announced that they were both taking sabbaticals to work on their music. So there was always the chance that we'd see them back. And that's the case, but it's not entirely at the expense of Shakira and Usher. The two artists did a fine job of taking over the roles of judges and mentors on the singing competition series, and their arrival served to change up the dynamic among those four red chairs. So, while it's good news to hear that Christina and Cee Lo are returning, it's also good news to hear that Shakira and Usher will return in the spring. Both artists are said to be planning upcoming albums, which they'll work on in the interim, and Usher has the film Hands of Stone going into production.

Switching around the judges on the panel not only allows the artists who want to work on their music the opportunity to do so - and stay current as musicians, which is always a good thing - it also freshens up the series. Unlike Idol and The X Factor, The Voice has been going twice a year. A little rotation among the judges could go a long way in holding viewers' interest from season to season.

After weeks of grueling performances, battle rounds, and suggestions and decisions from mentors Cee Lo Green, Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, and Blake Shelton, The Voice has crowned a Season 3 winner. Last night’s performances from finalists Nicholas David, Terry McDermott, and Cassadee Pope certainly made the decision difficult, but ultimately a decision had to be made. Read on and the winner will be revealed.

After three performances last night, each of the contestants should have given themselves a pat on the back for a job well done. It would be convenient if they could have all won a medal and that $100,000 prize. Unfortunately, that’s not how a reality competition show works, and, ultimately, Cassadee Pope, the young gal with big vocals and a bigger personality, pulled through with the win. Despite David’s soulful crooning and McDermott’s overabundance of 80s songs, Pope’s win was pretty justified, especially after her closing performance on Monday, when she sang “Cry” by Faith Hill.

During tonight’s episode, both Rihanna and Bruno Mars performed, with the latter introducing his new single, “When I was Your Man.” Despite the ups and downs of the announcement of the winners and the losers of tonight’s competition, the real heartfelt moment may have been realizing two of the four mentors were out headed out the door for good. Both Cee Lo and Aguilera are leaving The Voice to put a focus on their respective music careers. Of course, they sang Green Day's, “Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)” to commemorate their departure. If that song doesn’t get you every time, I’m betting you lack empathy (even if it is a little cheesy).

So, congrats to Blake Shelton for mentoring the winner, and congrats to Pope for pulling through with the win. Here’s hoping she’ll become a popular, huge icon in pop culture that The Voice desperately needs to to prove it can make a relevant star.

Christopher Chaney, best known as the man who hacked into the email accounts of numerous female celebrities and published their naked pictures online, was sentenced by a federal judge this morning to ten years in prison. Prosecutors only asked for a six-year-sentence, but because Chaney went after more celebrities after his computer was first seized, US District Judge S James Otero decided to give the thirty-five-year-old an extra few years.

Because of the sensitive nature of the case, an overwhelming majority of the victims were not publically identified. Prior to the start of the trial, Scarlett Johansson, Christina Aguilera, Renee Olstead and Mila Kunis agreed to have their names divulged to serve as faces for the prosecution. According to The Associated Press, two of the unidentified women weren’t even famous but knew the defendant in real life. He hacked into their accounts and made their naked pictures public, allegedly even sending one girl’s snapshots to her own father.

In addition to his time in prison, Chaney will also be on probation for three years after his release. During that time, the government will monitor his online activity to make sure he’s not hacking into anyone’s accounts or doing anything else illegal.

Since news of the sentence first broke, a surprising number of people have taken to the Internet to complain about the severity of the hacker’s sentence. Apparently, many people think it’s unfair that a man should get a decade in jail when some violent offenders get far less. I’m not sure I agree with that logic since this emotional pain was clearly very real, but I suppose I can see where people are coming from.

There’s no denying Christina Aguilera still has a huge set of pipes. She proves this in the first single off of her upcoming album Lotus. “Your Body” features an entertaining video with some nods to classic TV, a few cheesy b-movie special effects and some sexy but not totally sexsploitive costume choices. Christina Aguilera is in a new period in her career and it’s clear she’s not going for the youthfully sexualized Xtina look, anymore. Instead, she’s going for a low-end bar patron who likes to fool around in dirrrty bathrooms. At least its better than watching the over-40 Jennifer Lopez slither in the “On the Floor” video.

The current The Voice judge recently came out to say she was leaving NBC’s hit singing competition show after this season. It’s kind of a bummer, but the 31–year-old songstress has made some good memories on the show and says the contestants have made a huge impact on her desire to see her career continue. Apparently, they’ve also had an effect on her desire to put colored streaks back into her hair.

The “Your Body” video makes it clear Aguilera still has it and plans to flaunt it. If the rest of her Lotus album proves to usher the singer into a new era of pop music as capably as the lead single, Pop Blend expects Lotus to do pretty well on the charts. We’ll have to wait and find out when Aguilera’s seventh full-length album drops on November 13.

When The Voice returns for its fourth season after Christmas, it will do so without half of the judging panel fans have grown used to. Both Cee Lo Green and Christina Aguilera announced today they’ll take sixth month sabbaticals from the show in order to concentrate on their personal musical endeavors. Luckily, two famous faces have already been tapped to replace the pair, and with any luck, their presence should add an interesting new wrinkle to the competition.

Mutli-platinum artists Usher and Shakira will fill in and lead their own teams for the fourth cycle, and there’s a distinct possibility their tenures could last even longer. After NBC decided to start filming seasons back-to-back, network executives told the judges they could leave for individual seasons in order to continue having careers outside the show. So, in theory, every judging panel from this point forward should be some kind of hodgepodge depending on who is busy with what.

Obviously, that lackadaisical approach played very well with the judges, but it’s unclear whether the upheaval will affect or help ratings moving forward. No doubt some fans will tune in specifically to see Usher and/ or Shakira, but their presence may well be offset by those who specifically watched for Christina and/ or Cee Lo.

Here’s a look at how executive producer Mark Burnett described the shake-up…

The Voice might not be the most popular singing competition show on television, but it certainly seems like it would be the most fun to judge on. The pressure to generate eyeballs is way lower than Idol and X Factor, and rather than wondering whether you’re going to be invited back, the judges here apparently make the choices for themselves. Plus, I'm not sure there's a person in the world who wouldn't want to sit in one of those big red chairs, at least for one episode.

NBC’s The Voice may not have put up American Idol figures in its debut last Tuesday, but an average of around twelve million viewers and an overall win for the night has finally given the network reason to smile, even if the contentment didn’t last an entire week. With a few days until the follow-up, producers have decided to refortify their celebrity cast with four additions. Each has been handpicked by one of the judges and will serve as an adviser for song selections and vocal stylings.

Cee Lo Green will partner with acclaimed singer Monica. Christina Aguilera will take on singer/ songwriter Sia. Adam Levine will get support from longtime Maroon 5 producer Adam Blackstone, and Blake Shelton will get whispers in his ear from country legend Reba McEntire. Now that the judges have picked their teams, the chosen singers will battle amongst themselves in so-called battle rounds to ultimately produce a slender line-up each particular judge will move forward with. The aforementioned support staff will play a key role over the next four episodes in helping to narrow down that lot.

The Voice airs on NBC at 9 PM EST on Tuesdays. One episode in, it seems like a hit, but the true test will come in the coming weeks when viewers must decide whether the program is good enough to stick with. I’m optimistic. I’ve overheard at least four or five casual conversations, most of which were people advocating friends to check it out. The last show I saw that with was Glee, and it's turned out pretty well for Fox.

Eleven years ago, Christina Aguilera exploded on to the popular music scene with the song “Genie In A Bottle.” Part of a wave of young, blonde singers, she set herself apart with her incredible vocal stylings and range. While most of her cohorts, from Britney Spears to Jessica Simpson, jumped into the movie world quickly with films like Crossroads and The Dukes of Hazzard, Aguilera took her time, carefully selecting what her breakout role would be. Finally, she chose Burlesque.

Speaking with the young singer/actress during a roundtable interview, she discussed what it was like making her first film, from her interactions with the legendary Cher to the mindset she entered while writing the songs sung by her character in the film. Check out my interview below.

Was it a bit intimidating having to tell off Cher in a couple scenes in the film and how did you handle your interactions the first time you met her?

It was hard. It was intimidating. We shot that scene a little while later. So we were able to warm up to each other and build a strong bond and connection with one another. So by then we were comfortable. She was great, though, because she is just as good if not better for her off camera moments when she’s delivering you lines, because she really pushes the other person’s buttons to make them react and push them to be even better than the dialogue calls for because there were moments where she’s trying to help me get angry. She’s like, “What do you want, bitch!” Then I’m like “[gibberish]!” You know what I mean?

And I’ll really lay into her and she makes it really easier for the other person. And I had another scene, the audition scene where she walks away from me, and I’m like, “I’m talking to you, bitch!” We were very much in support of pushing each other’s buttons in order to get each other to be better for the movie. I learned that from her. So that’s partly how she got me warmed up to screaming at her [laughs].

Beyond Cher, this movie is top heavy with talent. What did you learn from the other actors?

I grew leaps and bounds on this movie. Not only because of the many hats that I had to wear, this was normal movie to shoot because I had to write music for the film, I had to then go and record the music, portray it from Ali’s point of view, which is actually a whole different thing then actually recording music that comes from me. And then having to go into intense dance rehearsals and focus purely on that. Then to dive head first vulnerably and emotionally into the acting involved, it was so much, but the cast of characters definitely helped get you into the world and into the environment – watching people’s process, how they work, helping each other get to a certain emotional point in a scene. Cher was absolutely incredible – someone that’s been there, done it a thousand times before you. What a better person to learn from. Stanley Tucci, Kristen Bell was a riot; Cam Gigandet, the scenes we shared definitely had to be a little awkward at times considering his cookie box and things like that.

How did the creative process work writing songs for the movie? Did you write the songs with the script in hand?

Yes I did. I went in approaching the writing to the songs by, first of all, getting Steven [Antin] to write me bullet points of what he wants to songs to portray, what he wants the audience to leave with the message of the moment, how Ali’s feeling. Then I would cut to looking at the script and what the scene calls for itself, getting in the moment of how Ali would feel and then I went to work writing the songs. So it was all about Ali and not me.

Did you visit a lot of burlesque places for preparation?

Well, part of the reason why I signed on was because I have a collection of burlesque books at home. I’ve collected them for years, I’ve been to shows and it’s always been a fascination and a love for me. I’ve always been intrigued by the idea of burlesque. I’ve been but prior to even knowing about or doing the movie.

Can you talk a little bit about the power and the feminism that comes with burlesque dancing?

Absolutely. I think in any case throughout the history of men and women in general and the issue of sensuality or sexuality there’s been so many double standards. There’s been many opinions in general about it as a topic. I could go on and on about this subject and the unfairness of it all, but that’s why I like to, throughout my own creative process and the songs that I’ve put out and the videos that I make and then signing on to this project, any way that I can express myself in ways that will empower women to fell comfortable in their own skin, to feel comfortable in their own bodies – to get on a stage and exude such amazing charisma and energy and feeling good about yourself then I’m all up for it.

And I knew going into this movie that that’s what burlesque means to me. I think it’s extremely empowering for a women to feel confident within her own body, within her own skin and to not be afraid of being fearless about that. I think that there are a lot of double standards, people can judge, but at the end of the day this is a movement and it’s a powerful expression and it’s a way that women can empower themselves and feel good.

Why do you think burlesque dancing has come back into fashion in recent years?

I think that it’s an undeniable art form. I think that it’s something everyone can be intrigued by if spun in a different light. When I first was given the script I thought it would be a period, given that the title was Burlesque, but in actuality it was set in modern times, so I feel like this movie gives you a fresh taste and a new outlook on what burlesque can mean nowadays.

If this were a period piece, how do you think it would be different?

Well, it would have been set at a different time [laughs]. The clothing would have been different; Ali wouldn’t have had headphones in, dancing in the streets [laughs]. I think the normal things. But I would have done it if it was a period piece. I love old movies and things set back in other times.

How long have you been considering a film career?

It’s been something that I’ve been wanting to do for a long time, but the right script hadn’t come along and I wasn’t going to ever rush into anything and do the transition that a lot of people do just to do a movie and just to say they did it. I wasn’t interested in that. I wanted to really do something. If I was going to do something I wanted to do acting right and I wanted to really believe in something and believe in a role and believe in the movie and feel passionate about it.

Did you always want to do a musical or something else entirely?

I did think that there’s no way I want my first film to be a musical. I like a challenge. I wanted something I could sink my teeth into. If I was going to act, I was going to act; I wasn’t just going to portray another side of myself. But this one came with everything. It definitely came as a loaded package and I’ve never worked so hard in my life. I know every couple of weeks they had to keep taking in my clothes just because the work schedule alone, I was working 17-18 hour days, jumping from dance rehearsals to writing, recording and acting. It was just exhausting. But, anyway, back to your question, I did at first but this one spoke to me. The fact that it was about burlesque and not just a singing piece – a specific vision and the underground world that burlesque is, and beauty and magic and wonderment just really spoke to me.

Did you look at movie musicals in the same vein as Burlesque in preparation?

Cabaret was definitely a referencing point. There were a few dance moves that Steven really wanted to take from Cabaret and sort of pay tribute to them in the movie. I don’t think a couple of them made the movie, but…[laughs]. But Fosse, Cabaret… I actually looked at Wizard of Oz, actually, because she’s so wide eyed.

Hold on to your hats, musical fans, because this extended clip from Burlesque might just be too much for you to handle. Pop princess Christina Aguilera shows off her sexiness as well as a few dance moves courtesy of the kind folks over at Trailer Addict.

The clip is exactly what you should be expecting out of Burlesque, an over-the-top, sexy romp through the burlesque club with a whole lot of that Aguilera flavor spilled all over it. While it doesn’t exactly get you into the gritty details of the story, the clip does an amazing job of taking the Showgirls preconception and squashing its face into the dirt.

The film will not be for everyone, myself included, but it’s shaping up pretty nicely and by the looks of it we may have another pop star turned movie star on hands. For those looking for flash, sex, and some big ass musical numbers, Burlesque will be your Citizen Kane. Scope out the clip below, and the synopsis below that.

The first trailer for Burleque has arrived and while it has plenty of Christina Aguilera, Cher, and Stanley Tucci there’s not nearly enough Kristen Bell. Blink and you’ll miss her as Aguilera’s cabaret rival. The trailer plays out like a cross between Dreamgirls and Chicago. It’s not bad, especially if you’re into the whole glitz and glamour song and dance thing. Personally I was hoping for something that was actually about a burlesque club, but despite the name, this is more just a movie about some crazy cabaret where girls dance and sing. Moulin Rouge came closer to capturing that feel, and it wasn't even about burlesque.

The movie stars Christina Aguilera in her first ever leading role as a small-town girl who moves to LA to make it big, and does when people hear her Christina Aguilera-sized voice. Cher appears to be the madame-like club owner and Stanley Tucci does that Stanley Tucci thing that he does so well. Check out the trailer below:

I figured the cast of Burlesque was about as crowded as it could possibly get, boasting the likes of Cher, Christina Aguilera and Kristen Bell in lead roles, with Stanley Tucci, Cam Gigandet and Alan Cumming rounding things out on the sidelines. But in a movie that's all about sex and glamour, I guess there's always room for McSteamy.

Eric Dane, best known for the hunky doctor role on Grey's Anatomy, has joined the Burlesque cast according to Variety. He'll play a businessman trying to buy out the club, negotiating with Cher's owner character and also flirting with Aguilera's character, a small-town girl who shows up at the club with all the typical L.A. dreams. Filming on this pile of crazy and magic began last week, and the movie is slated for release about a year from now, just in time to take your family to see it over Thanksgiving and have them wonder what the hell is wrong with you. I can't wait.
