The Traitors is over, and against all odds, Rob Rausch successfully duped the cast and won the game as a Traitor from the very start. While the fandom and his co-stars celebrate Rob and try to get him on other shows, it feels the pendulum is swinging the other way on Maura Higgins, with everyone dragging the Irish Love Island star.

As if being betrayed by Rob wasn't enough, Maura continues to catch strays from other castmembers, as Eric Nam talked about her gameplay with US Weekly. and went on about how she did "nothing" all season:

I think we can all admit Eric's harsh words may be rooted in how his exit played out on The Traitors. Had Maura not suspected Eric, Rob likely would've kept his fellow Traitor safe rather than go along with her theory to protect himself. It's also worth noting that it seemed like Maura wasn't really following her instinct as much as she was parroting what Johnny Weir and Tara Lipinski tried to tell her before they were eliminated.

So, why didn't Maura try to be more active in the game and compare notes with people like Colton Underwood? Monét X Change had the answer on the Las Culturistas podcast, in which he exposed the reason why the Love Island star seemingly had no idea what was going on at any given moment:

I've talked about this issue before, but unfortunately, there's little way to fix The Traitors consistently rewarding people for being bad at the game. Traitors are incentivized to take the most clueless players to the end, and unless they're faking it the entire time, we'll continue to see players like Maura at the end.

Would Maura have done better if she'd known the rules of The Traitors going in? It's impossible to speculate, though I think if she were given another chance to play on the NBC spinoff coming to the 2026 TV schedule, she'd do much better. That season is reserved for the common non-reality television folk, however, so don't count on her being a part of the cast.

Viewers could learn from Maura, however, and maybe appearing to be an ignorant Faithful is the easiest path to make it to the end and win it all. Personally, I suspected Gabby Windey figured this out in her season, because her gameplay became increasingly better in the final stages of the game. Could we get a Faithful who's as good at playing the Traitors as Rob was the Faithful? I'd love to see it.

Every season of The Traitors thus far is available to stream right now on Peacock. After the wild way this season ended, I'm already looking ahead and psyched to see who they manage to get next. Hopefully, everyone this next time around will have watched the show.

The cast of The Traitors Season 4 made some excellent television, but there have been some darker incidents once the camera went down. During a recent appearance on Fox 5 New York, Rinna confirmed that she was reportedly drugged during the Season 4 premiere party at The Abbey in West Hollywood. In her words:

Talk about scary. It sounds like Lisa Rinna has been dealing with the fallout from the premiere party for the months that The Traitors Season 4 has been airing. As she tells it, she was tested for drugs after attending the event, and they found a number of substances in her system. Unfortunately, this story eventually leaked, making it a public matter before it was resolved.

Just a few days ago, TMZ broke the news about Rinna's apparent drugging at the Traitors premiere party. According to that report, Colton Underwood allegedly noticed something was off, and he made sure that the RHOBH icon was safe. An excerpt from that story reads:

This report stands in stark juxtaposition to the beef that's been building between Lisa and Colton throughout Season 4. Her comments online seemingly encouraged folks to come for the Bachelor alum online, leading production to tell fans to back off. But despite this, and their rivalry in the castle, it's heartening to hear that Underwood allegedly still made sure that Rinna was safe during this scary incident. Only time will tell what comes next related to what happened.

He's not wrong. Rob might be one of the best traitors we've seen in the show's history, and it looks like he's going to make it all the way to finale without every really being in danger. He's got a keen strategic mind and has fooled the faithful into thinking he's one of them. That includes Colton, although the Bachelor alum thinks he would have turned on him if he stuck around.

Lisa Rinna hasn't been on The Traitors for weeks after being the first OG Traitor eliminated after Donna Kelce, and yet it feels she's the biggest topic of discussion as the show prepares to wrap up Season 4 on the 2026 TV schedule. After a tease that the reunion special was messy, the Real Housewives legend shared some more details on what went down with Colton Underwood at a recent event.

Underwood and Rinna feuded during The Traitors Season 4, after he accurately noted her non-confrontational attitude might be because she was a Traitor. Fans of the Real Housewives vet began to go after the former Bachelor contestant for his past problematic headlines, including the fact that his ex, Cassie Randolph, filed a restraining order against him for alleged stalking. It got so heated online that the show issued a statement about it, and may have to yet again after Lisa Rinna talked about confronting Colton at the reunion at a Barnes & Noble event:

Real Housewives fans were, of course, delighted to see Lisa Rinna shading Colton Underwood with her response. A post of the video on X was riddled with comments in support of her, and not sympathetic to Underwood:

Colton didn't get a "Real Housewife" in the game as he requested on The Traitors, but he certainly got it in spades after and possibly at the reunion special. That said, I believe Lisa Rinna kept things to gameplay, though I am curious as to why he unfollowed her and how mean it got.

I do hope The Traitors reunion gets to some of the other drama of this season, including the feud between Candiace Dillard Bassett and Rob Rausch. If we get to the end of this special and it's just been a lot of Housewives ganging up on Colton Underwood mixed in with Michael Rapaport shouting every so often, I feel like the fans were done a disservice in a season that traded a lot of strategy and gameplay for drama.

I also am increasingly nervous about the Season 4 finale, because it feels like the Faithful are onto the fact that Rob is a Traitor. There's a legitimate chance that this season ends with him being eliminated, and Eric somehow evading discovery and winning it all at the end of this. Either Rob wins, or the Faithfuls out them both. I won't be happy with the outcome of a late-game Traitor winning, but it could always happen!

However, this time, it’s extended online so much that Peacock issued a statement asking fans not to resort to “cyberbullying and harassment”. Now, Colton Underwood has shared details as to what happened from his side of the screen, and how it went “too far”.

Underwood is a retired football player who is known for being The Bachelor in 2019, and his gameplay has gone viral on The Traitors. Underwood came out as gay in 2021 and has since married and welcomed a son with political strategist Jordan C. Brown in September 2024. Here’s what the reality star said about his experience with online backlash:

In a new interview with Variety, Underwood detailed the violent threats he received online while on the social deception show. As he revealed, some comments went down a personal and dangerous road. As he continued:

One reason Underwood has become a controversial figure in recent years has to do with a messy breakup following his run on The Bachelor. After his season, he rekindled things with one of the show’s contestants, Cassie Randolph, until they broke up in 2020. Details later came out about how Randolph got a restraining order and filed a police report against Underwood for stalking and harassment, which she later dropped.

Colton Underwood also told the outlet that he felt multiple messages sent to him lacked “accuracy” of his past, which he said he “will always and have taken accountability for.” The Bachelor star said that fans who watched his season don’t know about the “growth, a lot of self-work” and the “different place” in life he's in since the 2019 season.

Underwood played an aggressive game in The Traitors for seven episodes before getting “murdered” at the top of this week’s episode. The former NFL player said he feels “really proud” of how he played the game and is proud of Peacock for standing up for the cast. He also said he’s personally in “such a good place” in his life where he’s “happy and joyful.” Even though he ended up being a pawn in Rob Rausch’s plans as a traitor, he’s been vocal about how he’s rooting for the Love Island star to win the game.

Colton Underwood has gotten a ton of backlash online for his style of playing, but I'm (mostly) not mad about how he's been trying to sniff out the Traitors. Let's break it all down.

When The Traitors Season 4 cast list was announced, there was some backlash to the inclusion of both Colton Underwood and Michael Rapaport. And while Rapaport went viral for his eating habits, Colton has been getting a ton of hate for the way he handles himself at the Round Table. But I'm mostly not mad about his gameplay; he's trying way harder than some other people still in the game.

Colton Might Be Targeting The Wrong People, But At Least He's Playing Hard

Colton Underwood is probably the most vocal person at Round Tables, and it feels like he's trying to take a page out Dylan Efron's book from the last season. Unfortunately, he's had some very wrong calls, such as targeting Big Brother's Tiffany Mitchell. That, as well as how combative he is during these Round Tables, is why so many people have been taking umbrage with how he's played.

But for me, I'd rather see someone swinging hard and missing than not playing at all. For instance, Dancing with the Stars icon Mark Ballas has basically been a non-entity throughout the game so far. The same can also be said for Tara Lipinski, who hasn't been all that talkative or seen being especially strategic.

Colton is trying his hardest to be a Traitor hunter, and he's finally on to someone: Lisa Rinna. Unfortunately, I can't co-sign some of his most recent strategies there. Specifically, his 1:1 with the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, he tried to get her to admit she was one. Personally I think that instead of trying to make a cross-cast alliance, he could have appealed to her interests as a Traitor, and said he'd be down to be recruited. Still, I'm glad he's playing hard and not just coasting by.

This rivalry between Rinna and Colton looks like it's going to really heat up in this week's episode, where the Housewife will be tasked with performing a murder in plain sight. If she ends up successfully taking out Underwood, it might end up in even more suspicion coming her way.

Rinna and Colton's rivalry is definitely creating sparks on The Traitors, as he's onto her and is trying to get the rest of the Castle to vote her out. He got pretty close in the last Round Table, and it should be interesting to see which of these two competitors ends up on top.

Thanks to The Traitors being on the 2026 TV schedule, I’m on the edge of my seat every Thursday night, and I’m living for it. We’ve got another juicy season of the competitive social deception game. While I’m usually on the side of truth, justice and the faithful way, I need to talk about while I’m Team Traitor this time around.

Forget Team Faithful, Because I'm All In On Rob Rausch As A Traitor

It’s taken six episodes to cement this opinion, but as an audience member, my loyalty lies completely with Mr. Rob Rausch to win the whole game as a traitor (but no, I wouldn’t be mad if another traitor won along with him). For some context, I’m not a reality TV superfan who knows a lot of the players on the show. I know of like five of the contestants! Truly, the Love Island alum has won me over on his gameplay and personality alone.

Episode 6 in particular was a big moment for me that has me wanting to make Team Rob T-shirts. When he divulged his struggle to vote out Ron Funches because he understands where he’s emotionally at within the group and is rooting for him, it was a really sweet move for a traitor. Sure, he totally ignored the strategy of his fellow traitors, but I like that he’s been playing a fair and logical game rather than backstabbing everyone on his path to glory. Yes, he technically betrayed Lisa Rinna at the roundtable, but it’s also not his fault Colton found a convincing argument to put her on the chopping block.

In contrast, think about Season 1’s winner Cirie Fields. Her gameplay also impressed me, but I wanted the faithful to find her out throughout the season just to call out all her insincerity along the way. I really like the idea of Rob proving that you can win the game and be true to yourself, too. Like if Rob won tomorrow, I think the other faithfuls would truly be standing up and clapping about a job well done. Rob might need to end up acting more traitorous to ultimately win, but at this point, it seems like he’d rather get caught than play an unfairly nasty game. Hey, maybe I'll eat my words later, but oh, well.

Why Else The Faithfuls Aren't Getting Me Invested

The other reason why I’m not rooting for the faithfuls as much this year is because it feels like there’s a lot less loyalty and critical thinking among them on their end this time around. In previous seasons there’s been a camaraderie between a few groups of faithfuls, but it kind of feels like at this point it’s every man and woman for themselves. Look, there’s definitely been a few attempts from a few of the faithfuls to find allies and help each other out (oh, do I wish the Big Brother players hadn’t stumbled!) , but there’s been a lot more faithfuls just being hellbent on getting other players out without a lot of concrete evidence. Tiffany’s gameplay was a good example in my opinion, and it ultimately got her off the show.

Now, I was all in on Michael Rapaport’s banishment, but come on, you know it’s bad when the faithfuls would rather take out one of their own than actually play the game. They’ve only gotten one traitor out, and to be honest I think Momma Kelce’s banishment was them getting lucky. While the faithful seem to be listening to the noise, I admire Rob’s gameplay a lot, and I’m rooting for him to win the whole dang thing.

We still have a lot of time until Big Brother debuts on the 2026 TV schedule, but I hoped The Traitors Season 4 would make the wait a bit easier. Unfortunately, the cast for this season didn't see fit to keep the two BB players around for long. Now that her elimination officially aired, Tiffany took shots at one co-star with a reference to her iconic reality television debut.

For those not watching The Traitors with their Peacock subscription, Tiffany was sent home after The Bachelor's Colton Underwood, backed by K-Pop star Eric Nam, accused her of being a Traitor during the roundtable. They swayed the majority and voted her out, only to be wrong when she confirmed she was a Faithful. It seems Tiffany is still holding a grudge, based on a recent X post directed at Underwood.

Tiffany Mitchell Dropped An F-Bomb After Her Traitors Elimination Aired

Tiffany's been active on social media all throughout The Traitors Season 4 and was taking shots at co-stars now that fans know she's out of the game. Tiffany saw another Big Brother legend, Josh Martinez, take a shot at Colton Underwood in response to the latest episode, and decided to join in with her own personal twist:

Is Tiffany actually still mad at Colton Underwood, or is this an on-brand post for the fans? Non Big Brother fans may assume the former, but I have some much-needed context from the CBS reality series that tells the whole story.

Tiffany Said Something Very Similar During Her Season Of Big Brother

Season 23 of Big Brother was one of the least-toxic seasons of the show's history, but that doesn't mean it was drama-free. Tiffany feuded with Sarah Beth Steagall during her season, convinced that she had a secret alliance with Kyland Young that would've endangered her chances of winning the game.

Sarah Beth wasn't the threat that Tiffany thought she'd be, but the latter built her up so much that she began to obsess about taking her out daily. One day, while complaining about her to others, Tiffany dropped a quote that would eventually go down in Big Brother history:

The phrase evolved to get regular use within the online fandom in various spaces, especially when someone wanted to express their distaste for another Big Brother Houseguest. Tiffany, of course, is aware of its popularity, and as someone who is pursuing a career as a reality star, saying the popular line keeps the brand strong.

For that reason, I suspect that Tiffany made this comment more to capitalize on an opportunity, rather than go after Colton Underwood with a strong attack. Then again, multiple things can be true, and I'm sure she didn't love missing out on her chance to win the grand prize money on The Traitors. Only she can tell us how she feels with certainty, so perhaps we'll gain some clarity on where things stand with her and Underwood as time passes.

I love a good reality dating show, and lucky for me, there’s never a shortage of them to choose from, though Hulu's virgin-centric Are You My First? stands out from the pack. Elsewhere on the 2025 TV schedule, we’ve got Bachelor in Paradise in progress, 90 Day Fiancé and its spinoffs, and any number of Netflix dating series, like Perfect Match, which just might restore your faith in the genre. For now, I am completely hooked into Hulu's new series, despite seeing two big problems with it so far.

Are You My First? (available to stream now with a Hulu subscription) is hosted by former Bachelor Nation leads Kaitlyn Bristowe and Colton Underwood, who are guiding a cast composed entirely of virgins. The young singles go on dates and participate in challenges similar to what we’ve seen on other reality dating shows, but that brings me to the first — and probably biggest — issue with the series.

Problem 1: There’s No Way To Know Everyone Is Actually A Virgin

The entire premise of Are You My First? hinges on all of its contestants not having had sex before, and that’s just impossible to prove. Be it for medical purposes, their religion or something else entirely, each cast member has their own reason for remaining chaste, and producers simply had to take their word for it. That seems like a pretty big risk.

Executive producer Peter Geist acknowledged as much when asked by Variety how they can ensure that everyone’s telling the truth. He said:

At least those in charge understood the situation, and it sounds like they still thought it was a risk worth taking. The EP continued:

It’s true that the cast of Are You My First? seems much less sexually charged than their counterparts on Love Island or Too Hot to Handle, so I guess the abstinent aesthetic is achieved either way.

At least as far as I’ve seen in the series, there hasn’t been any discussion about what definitively constitutes virginity, or if any of them are “reformed virgins.” Also, as we saw during one storyline from The Ultimatum: Queer Love's recently wrapped season, people define intimacy in different ways.

Problem 2: Colton Underwood Is Not A Good Narrator

As a longtime fan of The Bachelor, I admit that Colton Underwood — aka the “virgin Bachelor” — and Kaitlyn Bristowe serving as the hosts was one of the initial aspects of Are You My First? that piqued my interest.

I know some were perplexed by Hulu’s decision to hire the former Bachelor, myself included, given his behavior following his messy breakup with Cassie Randolph, during which she accused him of stalking her and filed a restraining order against him. (Underwood is also set to appear on the upcoming season of The Traitors, where he is arguably not the most controversial Season 4 contestant.)

All of that aside, the blunt truth is I don’t think Colton Underwood is good in this role. The script that he and Kaitlyn Bristowe are reading from is full of virgin puns and references, which I can mostly get behind with the right person selling the humor, which just isnt' the case here. I love that the eliminations are called “Virgin Sacrifices,” and the date cards are, naturally, “V cards,” but some of the jokes are made rougher through repetition with diminishing returns.

In the first handful of episodes that I’ve watched so far, Kaitlyn Bristowe has already promised to “be gentle” more than once when delivering information "in case it's our first time," and some of the other puns are similarly groan-worthy in the worst way. Colton Underwood seems to lack the enthusiasm required to naturally pull off lines like:

• I’m Colton Underwood, and if you’re confused to why the voiceover just swapped from woman to man, you’ve just lost your two-narrators virginity.
• After the initial chats, the big question is where are they gonna get laid tonight? By ‘they,’ I mean the virgins’ heads, getting innocently laid down onto soft pillows.

Those two lines are just in the first episode, which is where the A-tier scripting should be. It’s also painfully obvious that Colton is reading his lines, and even when he’s actually talking to the cast members on the show, much of his audio was re-recorded after the fact.

When the sound editing is that obvious, and the energy in the host’s voice is noticeably lower than the music, activities and everything else, it really takes me out of the show. Even if what he's actually saying isn't going to win any awards anyway.

Still, Are You My First? Has Sucked Me In, And I Can’t Stop Watching

Despite those two fairly big problems, I just keep watching the new Hulu show. The producers compiled a really good cast, in my opinion. Rachael is really compelling to me with her vaginismus keeping her from being sexually active, and Farha (pictured above) is the virgin with an OnlyFans. I also think Godwin is a lot of fun, and Madi stuck out to be immediately, too.

It’s entertaining, but in a completely different way, to see young singles in this type of environment, going through these challenges and dating in such a chaste way. Nobody’s licking anybody’s thigh or being dared to do a three-way kiss (can anybody guess which show I just finished?).

In fact, during an early-season game of Truth or Dare, it looked like nobody was even brave enough to pick Dare!

Will anyone on Are You My First? lose their virginity to a fellow castmate? I’m not sure, and I’m not sure it matters. Either way I’m enjoying the show for its concept, despite the faultiness of its premise. It will be interesting to see if it gets a second season and whether Colton Underwood and Kaitlyn Bristowe return.

I figured we’d get news on Season 4 of The Traitors this week, but oh my Lord, sweet baby Jesus, not Ekin Su was I surprised by the list that dropped this morning. A few of the names (Dorinda Medley, Lisa Rinna, Porsha Williams, Maura Higgins) have been bouncing around for a hot minute, but a lot of others are completely out of left field. Travis Kelce’s mom Donna seems to be the big WTF most people are talking about, but she’s not my biggest surprise. That would be Survivor favorite and podcasting extraordinaire Rob Cesternino.

Before I get into why I’m so blown away though, let’s talk about the whole cast, which, I have to stress, is rumored right now. The alleged leak came from Reality TV News/ Updates on X this morning, but unlike most rumors, fans are taking this very seriously, as are people in the reality community. That’s because the source is typically reliable with their info, and there’s also been some corresponding social posts the past few days that seem to back up at least some of the names.

Let’s just run down the whole alleged cast. From Survivor, we have Rob, Natalie Anderson and Yam Yam Arocho. From Real Housewives, it’s Dorinda, Lisa, Porsha and Candiace Bassett. From Big Brother, it’s Ian Terry and Tiffany Mitchell. Plus, we’re supposedly getting Mama Kelce, Mark Ballas from DWTS, figure skater Johnny Weir, Monet X Change from Drag Race, Colton Underwood from The Bachelor, singer Eric Nam and the aforementioned Higgins from Love Island.

Even if everyone in this list is one hundred percent accurate, there are almost certainly names missing too. The last two US versions of The Traitors have had twenty-two and twenty-three people. There are only sixteen names on this list. Even if they cut back a little, it’s hard to imagine they’d cut back so much. So, look for at least a few surprises to be named later.

Regardless of who they are though, I am stoked as a Traitors fan and as a Survivor fan, particularly about Rob Cesternino. He, of course, played Survivor twice in the show’s early seasons, then launched a podcast empire called Rob Has A Podcast that is the go-to source of news for many in the reality competition community. He was heavily rumored to be part of the Survivor 50 cast but was cut late in the process like so many legends. Most fans assumed he’d probably never enter the casting process again, but then out of nowhere, his name showed up this morning.

The best part about The Traitors is how many fanbases the show can bring together. This cast is a great example of that. There’s all the representation from Housewives, Survivor, Big Brother and more that you’d want, but to my delight, there are also so many random people here you’d never expect, which I love. As a huge figure skating and wild outfit fan, I am particularly stoked to see Johnny Weir. He’s the best and will almost certainly go even bigger than host Alan Cumming with his outfits.

Lisa Rinna seemingly confirmed her casting with an Instagram story with luggage and a passport. It’s unclear whether the other alleged cast members are currently in the process of traveling to the castle in Scotland, but hopefully we get some more of these semi-confirmations today. I’d also take an official casting list if Peacock wants to be generous and drop one.

There’s a part of me that’s preventing myself from being all capital letters EXCITED until it’s official. To be honest though, I’m lower capital letters excited and cannot wait for this season.

Kim Kardashian Cries Over Her Lost Earring 

Kim Kardashian is the queen of reality TV, thanks to iconic moments like the 2011 episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians in which her then-fiancé Kris Humphries threw her in the water during a family vacation, causing one of her $75,000 earrings to fall out. Not only did we get a great ugly cry face in this scene, but her sister Kourtney's iconic quote: "Kim, there's people that are dying."

Snooki Is Punched By A Stranger On Jersey Shore 

By all accounts, Jersey Shore has got to be one of the guiltiest of guilty pleasures, but things got serious in the first season when an altercation between Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and a guy in a bar resulted in him punching her in the face. MTV controversially showed the whole scene in its original 2009 airing but blacked out the screen during the assault on repeats. The man was arrested and reportedly got fired from his job when the episode aired.

Lauren Conrad’s Mascara Tear On The Hills  

Lauren Conrad was involved in plenty of drama during her time on The Hills, but one image sticks out more than any other. Her Season 4 fight with Audrina Partridge had L.C. in her feelings, with a single black tear falling down her face, leaving a trail that went unwiped and unforgotten.

Giannina Is Love Is Blind’s Runaway Bride 

On the first season of Love Is Blind, Giannina Gibelli was completely humiliated when, after saying "I do" to Damian Powers, he did not return the favor. Gibelli quickly walked up the aisle, straight out the door and took off running as a camera crew chased her. Real World: Seattle’s Stephen Slaps Irene

As Irene's cab started to pull away, Stephen chased her down, opened her door and shockingly slapped her in the face.

William Hung’s Infamous American Idol Audition 

In the early days of American Idol on Fox, the show would sometimes feature "bad" auditions for the sake of humor. The most famous of these was undoubtedly William Hung, who became a laughingstock with his cover of Ricky Martin's "She Bangs." 

The Note On Jersey Shore 

In an attempt to anonymously clue Sammi Giancola in on Ronnie Ortiz-Magro's cheating on Jersey Shore Season 2, Nicole Polizzi and Jenni Farley typed out all of his transgressions in The Note. After an investigation within the house led right back to Snooki and JWoww, a huge brawl ensued between Farley and Giancola.

Justin Timberlake Cries On Punk’d 

In the very first episode of Ashton Kutcher's Punk'd on MTV, Justin Timberlake was told by a fake IRS agent (an unknown-at-the-time Dax Shepard) that his house, cars and even his dogs were being repossessed by the government because he owed hundreds of thousands of dollars in back taxes. The pop star cried and called his mom until the That '70s Show actor revealed himself.

Jonny Lies About Grandmother’s Death On Survivor: Pearl Islands  

Jonny "Fairplay" Dalton went full pro-wrestling heel on Survivor: Pearl Islands, crying as he told his castmates that his grandmother had passed away. He later revealed to cameras that it was all a ruse to gain an advantage in the game. 

Pedro Zamora Reveals He’s HIV Positive On Real World: San Francisco

The subject of HIV and AIDS was highly misunderstood by many in the '80s and '90s, and while divulging such personal information would take great courage even today, coming out as gay and HIV positive on TV was simply unheard of back in 1994. On The Real World: San Francisco, Pedro Zamora educated his housemates — and America by proxy — about the disease, making him one of reality TV's most important figures. He died at the age of 22, just hours after the final episode of The Real World: San Francisco aired.

She had an epic meltdown as Canaan tried apparently for 45 minutes to get her to complete the challenge, even grabbing her arms and trying to force her onto the slide at one point.

The Hills’ Final Shot 

There were a lot of questions about how "real" The Hills actually was, and the series finale provided an answer in epic fashion. After a tearful goodbye between Brody Jenner and Kristin Cavallari in the final scene, he appears to be standing in front of the Hollywood sign as he watches her limo drive away. The camera then pans out to reveal they're in a studio backlot, and the Hollywood sign backdrop is wheeled away as Cavallari — whose limo never actually went anywhere — exits the vehicle and hugs Jenner.

Survivor’s Rat And Snake Speech 

Dozens of seasons into Survivor, perhaps the most infamous scene hails from the very first finale when Sue Hawk made TV history with a speech comparing Richard Hatch to a snake and his fellow finalist Kelly Wiglesworth to a rat. She appealed to the jury to let it end the way Mother Nature intended: “For the snake to eat the rat.” 

RHOA’s NeNe Leakes Says, ‘Close Your Legs To Married Men’ 

Kim Zolciak and NeNe Leakes had some wild moments on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, but one of the sickest burns was served up during the Season 1 reunion after Zolciak clarified her situation with “Big Poppa.” She told Andy Cohen that her on-off man was going through a divorce but was still legally married, ultimately prompting Leakes’ infamous line: “Close your legs to married men.” 

Phaedra Pleads ‘Not Ekin-Su’ On The Traitors 

Phaedra Parks has had plenty of noteworthy moments on reality TV, but she became an instant meme on The Traitors Season 2 with her reaction to learning that Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu had drunk from the poisoned chalice. Parks’ mouth dropped, eyes rolling back in her head as she pleaded, “Oh my Lord, sweet baby Jesus, not Ekin-Su. Lord, not Ekin-Su,” fanning herself with a napkin as if she were about to faint.

As long as there's reality TV, there will continue to be iconic moments like these, and I for one can't wait.

The Masked Singer is known for shocking reveals, and while the latest elimination may not make the list for everybody, I certainly was shocked to learn Lovebird's identity after seeing them go home on their second appearance. It was also surprising to see them back on network television, but Colton Brown-Underwood has returned, and it may not be the last time we see him doing reality TV. 

Brown-Underwood, formerly known to The Bachelor viewers simply as Colton Underwood before coming out as gay and marrying his partner Jordan C. Brown, spoke about appearing as his true self to audiences on The Masked Singer, which had me wondering if it was the first of many more appearances in reality television. I asked the reality star if we could expect to see him on The Traitors or maybe Celebrity Big Brother, and he said the following: 

In short, it sounds like Colton Brown-Underwood is already in discussions for future reality show performances. Whether or not those come to fruition are yet to be determined, and I wouldn't expect to see him back with The Bachelor anytime soon. Brown-Underwood said in 2021 he doesn't mess with the franchise, with a couple of expletives that make it seem he has no interest in retreading that old ground. 

It's understandable, considering Colton Brown-Underwood has gone through a lot of changes since then, and it sounds like he's hoping to showcase a new side of himself to audiences. The reality star shared with CinemaBlend how he's already doing that with one side project and navigating how to share this side of himself with the world:

Colton Brown-Underwood just laid out how complicated it can be to be a reality star who wishes to have a private life as well. With that said, it seems like he's willing to navigate it for the sake of others, and we could see more of him beyond the series Coming Out Colton, which is available with a Netflix subscription. Of course, we won't see him on The Masked Singer anymore, given his elimination alongside Koala, who was NFL pro athlete DeMarcus Ware.

Transformers Night was another exciting episode that somehow outdid The Masked Singer's fantastic Season 11 premiere, and I give all the credit to Optimus Prime. Sure, Rita Ora has been a fantastic addition to the panel, but can you imagine having the leader of the Autobots on the panel? If we can never get a movie about Optimus Prime, that would be a pretty sweet consolation prize. 

Until the day the Autobots live among us, I'll be content with new episodes of The Masked Singer on Fox on Wednesdays at 8:00 p.m. ET. Those who want to revisit Colton Brown-Underwood's previous performance can do so with a Hulu subscription, and I'd certainly recommend they do because it was impressive.

Kaitlyn Bristowe appeared on Nick Viall’s season of The Bachelor before starring in her own season of The Bachelorette. After the dating show, Bristowe went on to appear in and win Dancing with the Stars Season 29. She has a popular podcast Off the Vine, started her own wine label called Spade and Sparrows, and even released a single, “If I’m Being Honest,” in 2020. Bristowe remained so beloved by Bachelor Nation that she was chosen to return to the mansion as co-host of Katie Thurston’s season following Chris Harrison’s exit.  

Jillian Harris

After appearing on The Bachelor and leading her own season, Jillian Harris made a name for herself in the interior design world. She starred on HGTV’s Love It or List It, Too and was a designer on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition in 2010. She maintains a strong social media presence with her brands Jillian Harris Design and The Jilly Box, and also provides small business coaching through The Jilly Academy. She is the co-author of the plant-based cookbook Fraiche Food Full Hearts. 

Bob Guiney

Bob Guiney was a contestant on the first season of The Bachelorette before becoming the fourth Bachelor. He rode his television fame to a gig with Game Show Network, hosting GSN Live for three years, in addition to some other TV appearances. In 2003 he published the book What a Difference a Year Makes: How Life's Unexpected Setbacks Can Lead to Unexpected Joy about his reality TV experience, and nearly 20 years later he became the co-host of the Almost Famous OGs podcast. 

Nick Viall

Since his time on The Bachelor, two seasons of The Bachelorette, and Bachelor in Paradise, Nick Viall has continued to make a name for himself outside of the reality dating realm. His podcast The Viall Files hosts some of the biggest names in reality TV and pop culture, and in addition to doling out advice to his listeners, he published a book in 2022, Don’t Text Your Ex Happy Birthday. Viall has continued in the reality TV realm, appearing on Dancing with the Stars Season 24 and Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test Season 2, which he won. He’s also dabbled in acting, with appearances in series including Teachers and Speechless. 

Peter Weber

Peter Weber was a contestant on Hannah Brown’s season of The Bachelorette and then led a season of his own. While maintaining a job as a pilot following his dating show career, Weber obtained a strong social media following and ended up starring in Season 2 of The Traitors, which can be streamed with a Peacock subscription. 

Arie Luyendyk Jr.

After making his Bachelor Nation debut on Emily Maynard’s season of The Bachelorette, Arie Luyendyk Jr. became infamous for the controversial finale of his season of The Bachelor, in which he broke up with Becca Kufrin to reunite with his runner-up Lauren Burnham. He and Lauren maintain a popular YouTube channel, and Luyendyk returned to TV in Season 1 of The Traitors. 

Rachel Lindsay

After her time on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, Rachel Lindsay has continued to make a name for herself. She worked as a correspondent for Extra until 2023, hosted the MTV series Love Gone Missing, and has hosted multiple shows on ESPN, including First Take and Football Frenzy. Lindsay hosts a podcast with Van Lathan called Higher Learning, and she’s published two books, Real Love: A Novel and Miss Me With That: Hot Takes, Helpful Tidbits, and a Few Hard Truths. 

Tyler Cameron

Tyler Cameron may not have won Hannah Brown’s heart on The Bachelorette, but he proved to have lasting star power. Since the dating show, he has been linked to women including fashion model Gigi Hadid, Kylie Jenner’s BFF Stassie Karanikolaou, and Laguna Beach star Kristin Cavallari. He appeared in the Netflix film Good on Paper and made a guest appearance on Saturday Night Live in a sketch with Kim Kardashian. He’s also appeared on other reality shows The Real Dirty Dancing, Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test Season 2 (which he won), and Going Home with Tyler Cameron, a home renovation show available to stream with an Amazon Prime Video subscription.

Jesse Palmer

Since starring on The Bachelor in Season 5, former NFL quarterback Jesse Palmer has been honing his skills in both the sports and hosting worlds. He’s served as a college football and NFL analyst for major networks including ESPN/ABC, Fox Sports, and the NFL Network. He was a contributor for Good Morning America and has hosted series including The Ultimate Surfer, The Proposal, Spring Baking Championship, Food Truck Face Off, Bakeaway Camp, and Holiday Baking: Gingerbread Showdown. Oh yeah, and he replaced Chris Harrison as The Bachelor franchise host. 

Jordan Rodgers

After winning JoJo Fletcher’s season of The Bachelorette, Jordan Rodgers — a former quarterback and brother of Aaron Rodgers — has become a football analyst for networks including ESPN and the SEC Network. He and Fletcher hosted the reality show Cash Pad, the Paramount+ series Battle of the Fittest Couples, and their own reality dating show, The Big D. 

Jake Pavelka

Jake Pavelka is another reality star who appeared on both The Bachelorette and The Bachelor, as well as the spinoff Bachelor Pad. He kept the reality TV train on the tracks with appearances on Dancing with the Stars Season 10, Famous Food on VH1, H8R on The CW, and the Food Network’s Rachael vs. Guy: Celebrity Cook-Off. He’s also done a bit of acting, appearing on Drop Dead Diva and The Bold and the Beautiful. 

Courtney Robertson

After Courtney Robertson won Ben Flajnik’s season of The Bachelor, she released a memoir about the experience, I Didn't Come Here to Make Friends: Confessions of a Reality Show Villain. The model has since competed on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire and made an appearance on Mad TV. She is the host of After Reality, a podcast where she interviews fellow former reality stars. 

Colton Underwood

Following Colton Underwood’s shocking fence-jump moment on The Bachelor Season 23, the football player ultimately came out as gay, telling his story on the docuseries Coming Out Colton (available to stream with a Netflix subscription). He has since gotten married to political strategist Jordan C. Brown and published the book The First Time: Finding Myself and Looking for Love on Reality TV. 

Tayshia Adams

One of the Season 16 Bachelorettes, Tayshia Adams, is one of the many Bachelor Nation members who has parlayed her experience into a career as an influencer. In addition to several brand deals, she partnered with Amaryllis Apparel to launch a clothing line and Conair for hair accessories. She’s also continued to make TV appearances, guest-hosting Entertainment Tonight and E! Daily Pop, co-hosting a season of The Bachelorette with Kaitlyn Bristowe, and competing on The $100,000 Pyramid.

Hannah Brown

After making it to Hometowns on Colton Underwood’s season and then leading a season of The Bachelorette, Hannah Brown went on to win Dancing with the Stars Season 28 and later Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test Season 1. She released a memoir God Bless This Mess: Learning to Live and Love Through Life's Best (and Worst) Moment and has begun penning romance novels. 

JoJo Fletcher

JoJo Fletcher has continued to make a name for herself outside of Bachelor Nation, launching the clothing line Fletch in 2018 and teaming up with Cupshe in 2022 for a swimwear line. She and her husband Jordan Rodgers have gone on to host the reality series Cash Pad, Battle of the Fittest Couples, and The Big D. 

Madison Prewett

Madison Prewett has maintained a strong social media presence since appearing on The Bachelor as Peter Weber’s runner-up. She married Grant Troutt, son of billionaire businessman Kenny Troutt, and has published two books — Made for This Moment and The Love Everybody Wants with an accompanying Bible study course. 

Wells Adams

After appearances on The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise, Wells Adams found love with Modern Family star Sarah Hyland but stuck around the dating show anyway, serving as the BiP bartender. He has competed on Celebrity Game Face, Worst Cooks in America, and Celebrity Family Feud and co-hosts two podcasts — Your Favorite Thing with Brandi Cyrus and Two Dudes in a Kitchen with Tyler Florence. 

Trista Sutter

Not only was Trista Sutter on the very first season of The Bachelor, but she went on to star in the inaugural season of The Bachelorette and Dancing with the Stars Season 1 after that. She has continued to make guest appearances on the Bachelor Nation series, including The Golden Bachelor, and has also appeared on Fear Factor, Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars, and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. She released the memoir Happily Ever After: The Life-Changing Power of a Grateful Heart in 2013 and later became the co-host of the Almost Famous OGs podcast alongside Bob Guiney.

Jamie Otis

Jamie Otis started her reality TV career on The Bachelor and Bachelor Pad but is better known for marrying Doug Hehner on Married at First Sight. The couple later starred in their own spinoff Married at First Sight: The First Year. She has also launched her own jewelry line and wrote the book Wifey 101: Everything I Got Wrong About Finding Mr. Right. 

Melissa Rycroft

After her time on The Bachelor, Melissa Rycroft competed in Seasons 8 and 15 of Dancing with the Stars. Along with the podcast Logically Irrational, Rycroft’s other ventures include a CMT reality show Melissa & Tye with her husband Tye Strickland, multiple appearances on Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making the Team, and hosting Redneck Island. 

Ali Fedotowsky 

Ali Fedotowsky appeared on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, accumulating a strong social media following afterward. She has since served as a judge at the 2012 Miss USA Pageant, hosted NBC’s 1st Look, been an E! News correspondent and co-hosted the Home & Family talk show. She also competed on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. 

Keltie Knight

After a short stint on Brad Womack’s season of The Bachelor, Keltie Knight (née Busch) continued her climb to fame as a correspondent for CBS’ The Insider, before moving to Entertainment Tonight. She then went to E! News as the chief correspondent and later co-host of the entertainment news program. She co-created the LadyGang podcast, which was eventually turned into a TV series on E!, and she’s also one of the minds behind the game show Superfan.  

Ben Flajnik

For the most part, Ben Flajnik went back to his winery following his time on The Bachelorette and leading The Bachelor, but he stayed in the headlines due to an appearance on Keeping Up with the Kardashians and rumors that he was having an affair with Kris Jenner. 

Lauren Bushnell Lane

After accepting a proposal from Ben Higgins on The Bachelor, Lauren Bushnell starred with her fiancé in their own reality show on Freeform, Ben and Lauren, Happily Ever After? It, in fact, wasn’t happily ever after, and Bushnell went on to marry country music star Chris Lane. She has since maintained a successful career as an influencer. 

Mike Johnson

America fell in love with Mike Johnson on Hannah Brown’s season of The Bachelorette, to the point that he almost became the next Bachelor. Instead, however, he appeared on Bachelor in Paradise before going on to compete on Celebrity Family Feud. He also co-hosted Bachelor Nation’s Talking It Out podcast alongside Bryan Abasolo. 

Catherine Giudici Lowe

After getting engaged to Sean Lowe on The Bachelor, Catherine Giudici said “I do” on live TV, in a wedding special that aired on ABC a year later. The couple has since appeared on Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars and CNBC’s Billion Dollar Buyer. Catherine has a strong social media presence, and found success with brands like LoweCo stationary and the furniture line Home by Sean and Catherine Lowe. 

Andi Dorfman

Andi Dorfman has built an impressive following since appearing on The Bachelor and starring on The Bachelorette. In addition to her two books — It’s Not Okay and Single State of Mind — she started a clothing line for runners called Andorfins. She has competed on both Celebrity Family Feud and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. 

Hannah Godwin

Hannah Godwin increased her social media following after appearing on The Bachelor and Bachelor in Paradise through her work as a model, YouTuber and TikTok celebrity. In addition to several endeavors as an influencer, Godwin created the Setty photo filter app. 

Becca Kufrin

Many people came to know Becca Kufrin for the brutal breakup she endured at the hands of Arie Luyendyk Jr. on The Bachelor, especially after it was parodied on Saturday Night Live (with Cecily Strong portraying Kufrin). She not only went on to star on The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise, but she hosted the official Bachelor Nation podcast Bachelor Happy Hour for three years and served as the emcee of the “Bachelor Live on Stage” tour. Kufrin is the creator of Bourdon wines and Improv booze-free cocktails. 

Sean Lowe

Sean Lowe came to fame on The Bachelorette before starring on The Bachelor, and he followed his reality dating experiences with a live wedding special and appearances on Dancing with the Stars, Celebrity Family Feud, Celebrity Wife Swap, Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire and Worst Cooks in America: Celebrity Edition. He published his memoir For the Right Reasons: America's Favorite Bachelor on Faith, Love, Marriage, and Why Nice Guys Finish First in 2015. 

Ashley Iaconetti

In addition to appearing on The Bachelor, two seasons of Bachelor in Paradise and The Bachelor Winter Games, Ashley Iaconetti has been seen on Celebrity Family Feud and Million Dollar Matchmaker. She’s made numerous TV appearances and worked as a correspondent for Access Hollywood, as well as hosted the Almost Famous podcast with Ben Higgins and the I Don’t Get It podcast with her sister Lauren. Iaconetti and her husband Jared Haibon co-authored the children’s book Lucy & Clark: A Story of Puppy Love.

Not all of The Bachelor contestants were successful in finding love, but it’s nice to see that many of them were able to use the experience to find fame and develop their careers. 

Another veteran of The Bachelor has made it down the aisle to say “I do,” but it wasn’t with someone they met on the show. Colton Underwood, the Season 23 lead who famously jumped a fence in an effort to escape ABC’s reality TV cameras, married Jordan C. Brown in front of 200 guests May 13 in a romantic ceremony in Napa Valley. Several celebrities — including former host of The Bachelor Chris Harrison — sent their congratulations to the former football player.

Colton Underwood came out as gay in 2021 during an interview on Good Morning America, years after appearances on the Bachelor Nation reality shows, and that milestone in his life was documented on the Netflix series Coming Out Colton. Rumors began to circulate that he and Jordan C. Brown were an item later that year, with Underwood confirming the relationship in December. By February 2022 they were engaged, and a little over a year later, the happy couple are officially married! The groom shared the happy news on Instagram with exclusive photos from People: 

Several celebs rushed to the comments section of Colton Underwood’s post to offer well-wishes to the couple, including Chris Harrison, who was still the host of the Bachelor Nation shows when Underwood appeared. He wrote:

While Colton Underwood found fame on the Bachelor Nation dating shows, his relationship with those in the franchise was strained after he starred as The Bachelor. Cassie Rudolph, who was the last woman standing on his season — though they did not get engaged on the show — filed a restraining order against Underwood in September 2020 after they broke up in April, saying he stalked and harassed her. According to Rudolph, Underwood placed a tracking device on her vehicle — which he admitted to — and loitered outside her bedroom window at 2 a.m.

That friction only increased with the release of Coming Out Colton, when Tayshia Adams accused him of lying about what happened on their Fantasy Suite date, and Nick Viall and Ben Higgins disputed Colton Underwood’s claims that Chris Harrison had been the only person to contact him after he came out. In the end, Underwood has said he doesn’t want to be associated with The Bachelor, saying “I don’t fuck with them anymore, they don’t fuck with me.” 

At least his friendship with Chris Harrison has endured, and it looks like Colton Underwood was surrounded by a lot of love for his special day.

Former Bachelor Colton Underwood has been back in the pop culture conversation lately, with his new docuseries Coming Out Colton having premiered on Netflix. Along with being called a liar by some fellow Bachelor Nation alumni, he and the women who dated him have also had to again face questions about whether they knew Underwood was gay when he was dating dozens of women simultaneously on The Bachelor. Hannah Brown, who competed on Underwood’s season before leading her own season of The Bachelorette, has shared her perspective on what went down.

Hannah Brown opened up on The Michelle Collins Show, revealing that the women on Colton Underwood’s season were perhaps more perceptive than Underwood realized, and she herself had to recalibrate her expectations the more she got to know him.

Hannah Brown made a good point in saying any lack of spark between Colton Underwood and his contestants didn't automatically mean he was gay, just that he wasn't what they expected, nor a good romantic match. (For obvious reasons.) On The Bachelor, the contestants actually get very little time with the lead while they're dating, so it probably took time to get to know Underwood away from who they expected him to be.

Reception for Coming Out Colton has not been 100% positive from Bachelor Nation, either, with Colton Underwood’s fellow Bachelor leads Ben Higgins and Nick Viall accusing Underwood of lying about the lack of support he received from those in the franchise when Underwood came out this year. Tayshia Adams, current co-host of The Bachelorette and one of Underwood’s finalists on Season 23 of The Bachelor, was upset that he allegedly lied about their Fantasy Suite date, saying on his Netflix series that he slept in sweatpants to avoid sending the wrong message. 

But although Hannah Brown said she does have mixed feelings about the situation, as well as the docuseries itself, in the end she’s happy for Colton Underwood in that he’s able to live his truth.

The mixed reactions are definitely understandable — for Hannah Brown and all of the women on Colton Underwood’s season of The Bachelor — since they all were presumably on the show in hopes of finding a husband. But it’s definitely kind of Brown to support Underwood in his journey of finding himself.

If Colton Underwood, former lead of The Bachelor and star of the Netflix series Coming Out Colton, doesn’t want to be associated with the ABC franchise anymore, he certainly seems to be doing a decent job of burning those bridges. Days after former Bachelor Ben Higgins called Underwood out for lying about the support (or lack thereof) he received from Bachelor Nation after he came out, more of the datings shows' alum are speaking out, including The Bachelorette’s Tayshia Adams. 

Tayshia Adams was one of Colton Underwood’s final contestants on Season 23 of The Bachelor, later going on to lead her own season of The Bachelorette, and she is disputing the claims Underwood made on his new docuseries Coming Out Colton about their Fantasy Suite date. In one episode of the Netflix series, Underwood said during their overnight date on The Bachelor, he slept in sweatpants and a sweatshirt because he didn’t want to give Adams the wrong impression, as he put it. Adams directly addressed this claim on the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast, saying: 

Not a lot of wiggle room for error there in Adams' mind, understandably. She also doesn't understand why she was brought into the conversation at all, saying:

Tayshia Adams said it was so hot in Portugal the night of their Fantasy Suite date that they had the doors wide open trying to get more air in the room, and that Colton Underwood slept in his boxers.

The Bachelorette co-host said she doesn’t understand why Colton Underwood would feel the need to make up that untrue detail, saying she isn't aware of what he might be covering up for by saying such things. They had a good conversation and left things on a good note, so for this to be coming up after the fact, she said, “makes me so sad." 

Nick Viall, meanwhile, joined Ben Higgins in arguing against Colton Underwood’s claims that Chris Harrison was the only person from Bachelor Nation who reached out to him after Underwood came out as gay earlier this year. On his podcast The Viall Files, the Season 21 Bachelor read an exchange he had with Underwood from April 14, where Viall congratulated Underwood, and the former football player thanked him and said he was happy. Viall, like Tayshia Adams and Higgins, said he just didn’t understand why Underwood needed to lie.

Will fans soon hear about other Bachelor and Bachelorette vets coming forward with claims about Underwood? Will the now-Netflix star speak out defending himself in the near future? Neither scenario would be all that surprising at this point.

Colton Underwood’s relationships within Bachelor Nation have been rocky since the former football player found and lost love on Season 23 of The Bachelor. After coming out as gay earlier this year, Underwood decided to document more of his journey on the new Netflix docuseries Coming Out Colton. The strain on Underwood’s relationships with the people he met through the ABC dating shows appears to only be getting worse, as former Bachelor Ben Higgins has now accused Underwood of lying about the lack of support he received after coming out.

While promoting Coming Out Colton, the former Bachelor told US Weekly that he didn’t really have relationships within Bachelor Nation anymore. He said that former host Chris Harrison was the only one “who really reached out and sort of let me know that he was there for me, [asking] if there’s anything he can do.” 

Yet Ben Higgins, who was The Bachelor on Season 20, was taken aback by those accusations, saying on The Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous Podcast that he personally reached out to Underwood and knows of others who also did, though he didn’t name them.

While podcast co-host and fellow Bachelor Nation alum Ashley Iaconetti said she’d watched Colton Underwood’s Netflix show and enjoyed it, Ben Higgins admitted that Underwood’s statements upset him to the point where he didn’t want to watch docuseries. The podcast host said he actually sent Underwood a gift, and he just seemed confused about Underwood’s intentions in making that claim.

In the original interview, Colton Underwood said he and Chris Harrison “stay in touch,” and as neither associates himself with the dating shows anymore — Harrison was fired after making controversial comments regarding race, and Underwood has had some blunt comments about the franchise — maybe Underwood was addressing his continued contact with Bachelor Nation vets. Whether it was an intentional lie or a miscommunication, Ben Higgins seemed hurt that his and others’ gestures were discarded. 

Colton Underwood appeared on Becca Kufrin’s season of The Bachelorette before appearing on Season 5 of Bachelor in Paradise. He then was announced as the lead of The Bachelor in Season 23. Underwood continued to date contestant Cassie Randolph after the show, but the couple suffered a messy breakup, with Randolph filing a restraining order against Underwood amid stalking allegations.

ABC's Bachelor franchise has seen a lot of new developments in recent months. Following a public controversy and substantial payout, Chris Harrison was replaced by Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Bristowe on The Bachelorette, and rotating celebrity hosts will be brought in for the next Bachelor in Paradise. Now, in the midst of all the changes, one of the most notorious Bachelor Nation alums, Colton Underwood, is getting blunt about his relationship with the franchise.

Colton Underwood, who came out as gay in April, participated in several iterations of the ABC franchise over the years, such as The Bachelorette Season 14 and The Bachelor Season 23, on which he was the lead. In his last stint, he shockingly named Cassie Randolph without a proposal, but their relationship would later come to a dramatic close after reports surfaced of Underwood supposedly stalking her. Judging by his since-deleted blunt comments on Instagram (via Page Six), though, it appears the alum’s relationship with Bachelor Nation as a whole is done for good, too. Underwood wrote:

It's hard not to “lump” Colton Underwood in with other Bachelor Nation alums, given his notoriety from his appearances on the franchise. But apparently, knowledge of Underwood’s ire at Bachelor Nation manifested after he was included in reports about ProPublica's records on several alums who took advantage of the U.S. government's Paycheck Protection Program.

As reported by Vulture, newly minted Bachelorette host Tayshia Adams received $20,833 in her bailout loan. The Bachelor’s Season 22 star Arie Luyendyk Jr. and his wife got roughly the same amount. Colton Underwood was mentioned as receiving a $11,355 PPP loan but that it ultimately went to his cystic fibrosis charity, the Colton Underwood Legacy Foundation. Still, it seems Underwood didn’t appreciate the assumptions being made about having a PPP loan for his charity. He also wrote in the deleted post:

Still, it's curious that Colton Underwood is now using such strong language against the Bachelor franchise. When the alum came out as gay in April – making him technically the only openly gay contestant in the show’s history – many online first enthusiastically reacted by calling for a LGBTQ-focused season of the ABC franchise, with Underwood possibly starring as the first lead. At the time, Underwood said he wasn't in the position to do so currently but didn't rule it out entirely, either.

Perhaps Colton Underwood is leaving his frequently controversial Bachelor history behind him now, as he puts more focus on his Netflix reality show, which is set to focus on his coming out as gay. (It’s allegedly premiering sometime in the fall.) Nevertheless, Underwood isn't the only alum seemingly done with ABC's popular franchise. Catherine Giudici revealed last week that her husband Sean Lowe (The Bachelor, Season 17) is actually boycotting Katie Thurston’s Bachelorette season in solidarity with Chris Harrison.

The Bachelor Nation franchise has a lot of moving parts and players, to be sure. So many, in fact, that if what Colton Underwood is saying is true, it may not necessarily want or need to associate with him, either.

Colton Underwood came to national recognition after his dramatic turns on The Bachelor and its spinoffs. But after three seasons of searching for the love of the right woman on ABC, it was a complete and utter shocker to Bachelor Nation when he came out as gay last month. The revelation incited a lot of dialogue about LGBTQ representation in reality TV, as well as questions about Underwood’s timing of the reveal. As it turns out, unfortunately, Underwood alleges that blackmail was the real motivation behind the timing.

For some, at first, Colton Underwood’s coming out moment came across as calculated due to the timing of it with the announcement of his new Netflix show in the works. The Bachelor star explained, however, in his interview with Variety:

According to Colton Underwood, the blackmail about his sexuality occurred after he visited a gay-friendly spa in Los Angeles last year. Apparently, an anonymous source threatened to release nude photos of Underwood from his time at the spa. However, Underwood stated he was only there at the spa “to look.”

Though Colton Underwood also stated he “never saw” the nude photos in question, the blackmail was enough for The Bachelor alum to be honest about his sexuality with his publicist. He maintains that his coming out as gay only “coincided” with the announcement of his Netflix show that will follow his journey coming out, which was pitched to him near the end of last year.

On top of the timing of the Colton Underwood Netflix show, many fans questioned why Bachelor Nation has yet to have a LGBTQ-centered season in its near 20-year run. Underwood hinted at his support of the idea and said it “should be a conversation” for ABC. As for whether or not he would be the face of that potential season, Underwood said,

Bachelor Nation is at its own form of crossroads at the moment. Last season of The Bachelor was the first to feature a black male lead in Matt James, but it ultimately became overshadowed by the racial controversy of one of its female contestants taking place while the show was still airing. Chris Harrison also faced ire for his handling of the controversy, prompting his exit (at least for now) and former contestants Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Bristowe stepping in as hosts for The Bachelorette. It remains to be seen if ABC will implement more changes in the future when it comes to an LGBTQ season of the franchise.

Regardless of Colton Underwood’s own controversial past, he didn’t deserve to be blackmailed into coming out as gay. Perhaps his new Netflix show will allow him the time and space to explore it in a more nuanced way.

Reality television doesn’t always present reality as it is. More often than not, it portrays a version of reality that is the “norm” or one that doesn’t create too many waves outside its purview. Bachelor Nation has featured the pursuit of mainly straight romantic love and relationships in its near 20-year history and has never had an LGBTQ leading man or woman on The Bachelor or The Bachelorette. But with controversial contestant Colton Underwood coming out as gay recently, it is clear to me that Bachelor Nation needs an LGBTQ season one of these days.

Colton Underwood was a popular and recurring figure on Bachelor Nation, but came under heavy backlash concerning allegations of stalking later on. On Thursday, he came out as gay for the first time. TMZ has since reported that Underwood is currently filming a show for Netflix on his life as a gay man. Even though he’s a controversial reality TV personality, it is good that he’s accepting himself for who he truly is. Still, shouldn’t that be an eye opener for the franchise that brought him notoriety?

In other words, ABC should take a similar step forward in terms of queer representation and have a leading LGBTQ person on one of their flagship shows. It’s been long overdue. Fans have vocalized this conundrum since news broke of Colton Underwood’s upcoming show. Having an LGBTQ-focused season would help move the proverbial dial for Bachelor Nation and reality television as a whole.

Diversity of contestants has been an area of concern for some time now on Bachelor Nation, not just in sexual orientation but in race as well. This past season of The Bachelor saw its first ever Black lead in Matt James. Though some difficult conversations about racism materialized, it also forced some necessary and historical change. We are now looking at two women and a Black man replacing Chris Harrison in hosting duties for the long-running franchise. ABC should consider seizing this incredible moment of sweeping change and use it as momentum for an LGBTQ season of Bachelor Nation.

There is only one precedent of the LGBTQ community being featured in Bachelor Nation in the past and that was when Demi Burnett came out as bisexual while on Season 6 of Bachelor in Paradise. This was back in 2019 and, technically, they broke the “rules” for her to do that, with (now-ousted) host Chris Harrison saying to THR at the time:

So if the rules and paradigms are made to be broken, then ABC should really break the wheel that governs most reality television. Break it and make it queer.

While the past year has been difficult for many of us, there are also a lot of people who've now had the time to really sit with themselves and figure some things out about their life in several different areas. It turns out that one of those people is a former star of The Bachelor, Colton Underwood, who recently came out as gay. Now, fans are posting their reactions to the news.

Colton Underwood first really came into the public eye when he appeared as a contestant on Becca Kufrin's season of The Bachelorette in 2018. Colton then went on to lead his own season of The Bachelor the following year, where he was known as "the virgin Bachelor," but in a new interview with Good Morning America's Robin Roberts, he came out as gay, saying that a lot of his virginity was tied to him being conflicted over his sexuality. Bachelor Nation had a lot of support for Colton after his emotional interview, with several noting on Twitter how he must feel after coming to terms with being gay:

During the interview, Colton Underwood talked about several aspects of his childhood and young adulthood which he feels led to him being reluctant, even by the time he was heading up The Bachelor, to admit to himself and others that he was gay. Colton noted that he "just felt different" from the time he was as young as 6, and then, in high school, realized he "was more attracted to the boys and the men." But, he also said that his Catholic upbringing, as well as seeing how so many negative things were referred to as being "gay" held him back.

And, this admission led to a lot of kind words from fans:

During the interview, Roberts did bring up Colton's ex-girlfriend, Cassie Randolph. Fans of The Bachelor will remember that Colton jumped the fence during his season after Cassie broke up with him when she was in the final three. He eventually returned to the shoot, broke up with his two remaining finalists, and went to convince Cassie to give their romance another shot, which she did. Colton now says that he wishes he'd been able to be "courageous enough to fix myself before I broke anybody else," which led one fan to say:

While many fans are purely supportive of Colton and glad he's finally been able to accept himself and be open about it, there are several who are not happy he's been given this platform, but it's not because of his sexuality. A few months after Colton and Cassie announced their breakup in 2020, she filed a restraining order against him and accused him of stalking, harassment and other terrible claims, including putting a tacking device on her car. It wasn't long before she dismissed the restraining order and asked that the investigation be dropped, but many fans haven't forgotten.

Colton freely admits that he has a lot of work to do on himself, and did apologize to Cassie for "any pain and emotional stress" he caused her, also saying that he had a "dark and bad" period before finally being able to admit to himself that he was gay. Luckily, he says he now has the full support of many of his family members and friends, so all we can really hope for is that Colton Underwood continues to grow and learn how to live fully in his truth.

Fans of The Bachelor franchise are pretty used to people from the franchise occasionally doing and saying some less than agreeable things. But, generally, the trouble doesn't really extend much beyond that, particularly for those who have led one of the shows. This explains the shock that went around Bachelor Nation about a month ago, when Cassie Randolph filed for a restraining order against her ex, former Bachelor Colton Underwood. Now, in the wake of that legal action, Cassie has also filed a police report against Colton after their messy breakup.

According to TMZ, Cassie has taken her complaints with Colton further, by filing a police report with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department which claims he put a tracking device on her car. This is the same tracking device that was part of the original complaint from Cassie which led to the restraining order. Cassie claims that her brother found the alleged device planted under the bottom of her car's back bumper, and that Colton put it there to keep tabs on her whereabouts long after their breakup, which happened back in the spring.

When Cassie filed that restraining order against Colton, which happened on September 11, she made a lot of shocking and disturbing claims about the former Bachelor lead's behavior after their April breakup. She went to the police with allegations that Colton was stalking and harassing her, and, along with her claims about the tracking device, said that he had been sending her unsettling texts, many of which accused her of hanging out with another one of her ex-boyfriends. Cassie claimed that Colton also told her he was the victim of an anonymous stalker, but later admitted to sending those texts to himself and also admitted that he placed the tracking device on her car.

As if all of that weren't already bad enough, Cassie also reported that Colton was showing up uninvited at her home and at her parent's home, with "obsessive walks" to her apartment and him loitering outside of her bedroom window in the early morning hours at her folks' house. Not only was Cassie granted that original restraining order, but Us Weekly reports that, earlier on Tuesday after lawyers for both parties appeared at a court hearing on the matter, the judge signed off on an extension of the restraining order against Colton. This extension will take the order through their next hearing, which is scheduled for November 6.

For a lot of Bachelor Nation, Cassie and Colton's love story looked like a dream come true. The two met on his season of The Bachelor, which aired in 2019, and he was immediately drawn to her. But, by the time Colton had neared the end of his journey to find love, Cassie suddenly broke up with him during their fantasy suite date. This led to Colton's infamous fence jump, and he eventually broke up with both of his remaining ladies to go after Cassie. The two reconciled and began and exclusive relationship, but split by the end of April this year.

After the split, reports circulated that the duo had simply cemented a friendship after having a brief period in the beginning of being "very hot and heavy," which echoed Colton's sentiments when he posted about their breakup on social media. The idea of having someone chase you, as Colton did with Cassie on The Bachelor, is a very desirable and romantic notion for a lot of people, which may have been part of the reason why Cassie relented and embarked on a romance with him against her original feelings.

While we'll probably never have all of the information on what happened in their relationship or after, at least it sounds like Cassie is doing what she needs to do so that she can move on safely. This situation is, clearly, still unfolding, so be sure to stay tuned to CinemaBlend for the latest.

Not all love stories in Bachelor Nation come to a happy ending, but the aftermath of former Bachelor leading man Colton Underwood and Season 23 winner Cassie Randolph's relationship has taken an especially complicated turn. After a dramatic season of The Bachelor (even by Bachelor standards) in 2019, Underwood and Randolph began an exclusive romance, but their relationship came to an end in April 2020, and now Randolph has filed a restraining order against her ex.

According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, Cassie Randolph filed for a restraining order against Colton Underwood on Friday, September 11 in Los Angeles, claiming that Underwood has been stalking and harassing her. Randolph alleges that Underwood planted a tracking device on her car as well as sent unsettling texts, which she says accuse her of hanging out with an ex. She also states that he sent texts pretending to be a victim of an anonymous stalker, as well as sent anonymous texts himself. According to Randolph, Underwood admitted to the texts and tracking device.

Cassie Randolph has further claimed that Colton Underwood has been showing up uninvited to her home in Los Angeles, as well as her parents' home in Huntington Beach, California. She alleges that his actions have included "obsessive walks" to her apartment and loitering outside her bedroom window in an alley at her parents' home at 2 a.m. At the time of writing, there are no details as to whether or not the request for a restraining order was granted by a judge.

Colton Underwood and Cassie Randolph became involved during his season of The Bachelor, which was more hyped for Underwood reaching a breaking point in the process and jumping a fence to quite literally flee Bachelor producers (and his virginity) than for any of the romances. Underwood and Randolph ended the season committed to trying out a relationship off-camera rather than engaged. Underwood later admitted to lying to producers during his season.

Cassie Randolph appeared on an episode of The Bachelor: The Greatest Seasons Ever in July, although she was reluctant to discuss her breakup with Underwood, saying that it was "a sensitive subject" and that she didn't know if either of them was ready to talk about it publicly. She added that they were both "learning how to navigate it." Randolph later posted an Instagram story (via People) expressing her discontent with how her interview on The Greatest Seasons Ever was edited.

In a lengthy Instagram post of his own following Cassie Randolph's interview on The Bachelor: The Greatest Season Ever, Colton Underwood (who was diagnosed with COVID-19 earlier this year) addressed the breakup, saying:

The situation with Cassie Randolph filing for a restraining order against her Bachelor ex is evidently still unfolding. At the time of writing, Randolph has not released a public statement, nor has Colton Underwood responded to Randolph's filing. Only time will tell what kind of details emerge; their previous requests for privacy may mean that not much will be made public.

Woooooeeeeeee! Bachelor Nation, I hope you're all prepared because when Season 16 of The Bachelorette finally starts up, things are going to get buck wild. As you've likely heard by now, Clare Crawley, after months of waiting to start her run as head rose-giver, reportedly ended up falling for one of her suitors very early and will step away from Bachelorette duties during the season. While this hasn't been confirmed by the show or ABC just yet it looks like we're going to truly have The Most Dramatic Season Ever, and will be treated to Tayshia Adams coming in to take over Clare's abandoned Bachelorette spotlight.

So, what does this mean? It means we've got a completely different Bachelorette's life to get caught up on before Season 16 begins airing in September! And, we're here to help you learn everything you need to know about Tayshia, so that when she starts her time as the franchise's second black lead, you're fully apprised of her pertinent details and previous stops on the love train before she gets a chance to even send any hot, hopeful dudes home. Without further ado, let's get to know Tayshia!

Tayshia Adams Had Serious Heartbreak Before Bachelor Nation

Obviously, by the time most of the leads and potential mates make their way to The Bachelor or The Bachelorette, they've had their fair share of heartache, heartbreak, and probably even heartburn. But, Tayshia (who's now 29) had already faced divorce by the time she wound up as one of Colton Underwood's women on his 2019 Bachelor season. As she told Colton during one of their dates, the Newport Beach, California native had married her first boyfriend, Joshua Bourelle, whom she had been with for about six years total.

Unfortunately for Tayshia, she and Joshua struggled in their short-lived marriage, which only lasted for less than two years, and the couple split in October 2017, with the divorce becoming final in April 2018. After her split from Joshua, Tayshia dated model Chase Olswang for almost a year, before heading off on her journey to find love on TV with Bachelor Nation. And, her time on Colton's season was filled with a lot of highs and some pretty notable lows.

Tayshia Adams Was A Standout On Colton Underwood's Season 23 Of The Bachelor

Something that's been said of Tayshia since the rumors of her taking over as lead from Clare is that she won't be exciting enough to watch. Some have likely thought this because the former phlebotomist (who graduated from Concordia University) didn't spend a lot of her precious time getting into messy drama with her fellow potentials. (Minus, obviously, her ominous warning to Colton about some ladies "not being here for the right reasons.") Throughout the season, Tayshia was one of the more mature contestants, along with, of course, being one of the ones to really get a place at least close to Colton's heart. And, the duo had dates filled to the brim with smiles, kissing, bungee jumping and sky diving.

Tayshia managed, in fact, to foster an attraction from Colton which was strong enough for the soon-to-be fence jumper to keep her around until the fantasy suite dates. But! Colton decided to say goodbye to her after the woman he'd fallen for even harder, Cassie Randolph, dumped him during the evening portion of their date. Instead of choosing between the ladies he had left (Tayshia and Hannah Goodwin), he broke up with both the next day and went after Cassie. Tayshia handled that difficult, partially closed-door dumping well, and was originally considered to lead The Bachelorette in 2019, but left that mess to Hannah Brown and opted, instead for Bachelor in Paradise. This was where she roasted Colton as a bad kisser, but at least she did say he got better as his season went along.

Bachelor In Paradise: Tayshia And Derek Peth

It wouldn't be a bad idea to take note of how Tayshia and Derek Peth look in those photos above, because their short-lived Bachelor in Paradise romance was fraught with troubles. So, Tayshia admitted that Derek was the first guy in Paradise that she had the hots for, but he was all over Demi Burnett pretty much from Day 1, so they didn't really connect. That all changed when Demi's ex, Kristian Haggerty, showed up on the beach, and Demi said a tear-filled goodbye to Derek, because now Tayshia had a shot at the blue-eyed hunk.

What was the problem, then? Well, the issue was a not-so-little blond from Maryland named John Paul Jones. Tayshia had begun hanging out with the lad with the sensitive stomach when Derek took up with Demi, and JPJ was quickly over the moon for TayTay, while she was trying to keep her options open and not get involved in any of his drama. When JPJ realized that Tayshia and Derek were starting to get closer, well, he lost his absolute shit, and we'll get into details about that in a bit. Eventually, Tayshia had to make a decision, and she chose to stick it out with JPJ. Derek, not wanting to get involved with any other ladies in Paradise, opted to leave.

Bachelor In Paradise: Tayshia And John Paul Jones

Man, I don't think any of us saw a bit of this romance coming at all. This is especially true once the love triangle shit began to hit the Tayshia-shaped fan, because, even though JPJ had started in Bachelor Nation as a happy-go-lucky good time guy, his attitude changed very quickly when he saw that Derek and Tayshia were making sexy eyes at each other. Now, she did tell JPJ that she was keeping her options open, but because she didn't see many options before Derek was freed up, it meant that Tayshia spent most of her time with JPJ. He seemed to take that as a sign that Tayshia was more into him than she said, and was a bit blindsided when she opted to also put Derek in her rotation.

While JPJ had entertained other ladies in Paradise, he may have done that mostly to save face, because once Tayshia took up with Derek, he began declaring that he was in love with her, and went after Derek pretty hard. This included starting a shocking almost-shouting match with poor Derek... at a wedding, which led to Tayshia getting so upset over the disruption that she started crying. Then, JPJ came back for more verbal attacks toward Derek later on the beach, and managed to make his disturbing behavior even worse when he broke up the argument with what I can only call movie psychopath-level laughter.

Sooooo, Tayshia chose JPJ. And, he sweetly threw a beachfront prom for her when he found out that she never went to her actual high school prom, and also told her that he was in love with her. Immediately after JPJ's declaration of love, Tayshia told him she wanted to "get there" with him but wasn't and didn't think she could, basically saying that she didn't believe he knew what he wanted because he was still too immature. This led to JPJ leaving Paradise, and Tayshia, upset that she hurt him, leaving soon after.

But, wait! There's more! On the Bachelor in Paradise reunion special, we learned that Tayshia couldn't stop thinking about JPJ, his gag reflex and that nutty laugh, so she flew to Maryland to see if he would give her another shot, and...he did! The two dated for a few months, but weren't able to make a go of it, even without the cameras around, and split finally in October 2019.

Phew! That's it guys; we are all caught up on Tayshia's life before and during Bachelor Nation up until we get to see her date a bunch of dudes (who hopefully aren't all Clare's castoffs) on Season 16 of The Bachelorette. It's sad to hear, Bachelor Nation, but another of our couples has bitten the dust. Just a few days ago, Colton Underwood and Cassie Randolph both took to social media to announce that they'd decided to split, after meeting on Season 23 of The Bachelor in 2019. In each statement, the former couple said lovely things about one another and the time they'd spent together, but what really caused the breakup?

As with any celebrity breakup, speculation as to the cause of Cassie and Colton ending their romance abounds, with one such rumor saying that Cassie didn't want to get married, while Colton had been very ready to take that step for quite some time. Us Weekly spoke with a source close to the former couple, who remained unnamed, who said this about their breakup:

This actually really tracks with what Colton said on Instagram when he announced his split from Cassie. After noting that the duo had been "doing a lot of self-reflecting" during the past few months, probably especially as Colton recovered from coronavirus and quarantined with Cassie and her family, he did say that "sometimes people are just meant to be friends - and that’s okay."

From what the source said in the interview, it sounds like Colton and Cassie did have at least some time during the beginning of their relationship where they were "hot and heavy." Unfortunately, it sounds like it eventually turned into a situation where they had to come to terms with the fact that they were better as friends, and taking the next step of getting married wouldn't be a good move. And, if you remember how things went down on The Bachelor between them, this actually makes a lot of sense.

Let's not forget that Cassie is the reason that Colton jumped that fence during Season 23. During the nighttime portion of their fantasy suite date, Cassie told Colton that she loved him, but wasn't in love with him and didn't know if she could get there with him. After her confession, Colton laid his heart on the line and told her that he was in love with her and didn't want to stick around for the rest of The Bachelor madness if she wasn't a part of it.

Cassie stuck to her guns, though, and after Colton saw her off that night, with both of them trying to hold back tears (and not succeeding that well), he briefly went back to the place they would have shared that night, but quickly turned around. Colton then stormed out angrily, took off his mic pack, got to the edge of the property and jumped that big ol' fence to get away.

As we all know, after the producers found him and he was convinced to return to the show, he spent the next day breaking up with Hannah Goodwin and Tayshia Adams, and then went to find Cassie and told her they could just date, instead of him proposing for the finale. Obviously, she took him up on his offer, but it sounds like Cassie's original assessment, that she wouldn't be able to get to a place where she'd be in love with Colton, turned out to be correct.

Luckily, it sounds like both Cassie and Colton are interested in remaining friends post-romance, and I have no doubt that they'll both be able to find someone to get hot and heavy with again in the future.

Peter, Peter, Peter...That's the refrain that pretty much everyone in Bachelor Nation sang weekly while we watched Peter Weber, fresh from Hannah Brown's 2019 season of The Bachelorette, try to find love as our newly minted star of The Bachelor in Season 24. And, every week we watched him make the most baffling decisions, wherein he consistently rewarded those who created drama and ignored some very solid ladies who managed to stay above the fray. Well, Season 23 Bachelor Colton Underwood, was right there with us watching as Peter flailed, as he's just as frustrated as the rest of us.

Everyone who signs up for The Bachelor or The Bachelorette is going to go through some rough times while trying to find the love of their life among the 25 to 30 people presented to them on the show, especially because of having to do it in such a public way. And, even though Colton Underwood understands those challenges very well, he was still disappointed by how Peter Weber's season went down. But, it sounds like his experience with the franchise does mean that he's able to give Peter a bit of a break. Here's what he told Variety:

Well, I have to say that I appreciate the way in which Colton Underwood managed to cut Peter Weber some slack for all his very, very poor decisions during his time as Bachelor this season, but also held him accountable for not being able to "take ownership in certain situations," which I'm going to read as Peter's well-documented inability to make a choice and stick to it.

I'm sure you remember how Peter had so much trouble deciding who was telling the truth between Victoria P. and Alayah that he turned a pool party into a low-rent police investigation and interrogated many of the other women just so he could make up his own mind. Then, he cut Alayah loose, but when producers let her come back a few days later, Peter not only took her back, but gave her the rose for that day, when all of the other ladies had worked their asses off to impress him during a tag football group date. Then, when the women got mad at him, he dumped Alayah...again.

The last few episodes saw Peter have sex during fantasy suites week, knowing that Madison Prewett had told him beforehand that she wouldn't be cool with that if it happened, which led to much back and forth between Peter, Madi and his other final pick, Hannah Ann Sluss. Peter got engaged to Hannah Ann, but only after Madi dumped him, and without him telling Hannah Ann anything about what had happened with Madi.

They were engaged for about a month before Peter went to Hannah Ann and apologized for not being able to "give you what you want," which basically led to him taking the coward's way out and letting Hannah Ann break off their engagement. During the live finale, he and Madi said they were going to give a relationship another try, but Peter's family, led by mom Barbara Weber, said they wouldn't support him in that decision, and he and Madi announced their breakup two days later.

Man, I was right there watching that whole mess, and I'm still getting some kind of anxiety reaction from recounting it. Colton really might not be giving Peter enough credit for how screwy his season was, even considering that Colton knows, firsthand, how the producers work behind the scenes to push the drama forward as much as possible, as opposed to making sure that something like true love has the clearest way forward in the Bachelor franchise.

At least Colton acknowledges that it's pretty easy to feel sympathy for Madi and Hannah Ann, as well as hoping that this wild experience helped Peter grow and become a better person. I mean, I feel like it probably didn't, but we can all hope, right?

Almost all things The Bachelor and The Bachelorette (Including Clare Crawley's 2020 season...dammit!) are currently on hold, like many other TV projects, but the new franchise series The Bachelor: Listen To Your Heart will still debut as planned on April 13, as it finished filming many weeks ago. The reality star joins Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson among the celebrity realm to catch it. Underwood starred on the fourteenth season of The Bachelorette before headlining The Bachelor in Season 23.

Long before Pilot Pete’s injury took center stage in the latest season of The Bachelor, Colton Underwood made his run infamous. It all happened in the wake of Underwood jumping a fence during his season. Fast forward from those not too-long-ago days, and Underwood has confirmed that he has the coronavirus. On testing positive, Underwood had this to say in a Twitter post:

Colton Underwood does not appear to be shying away from sharing how rough his battle with the virus has been. Underwood also revealed that he is still able to make it to the bathroom without needing to sit down due to being winded. This is significant, as the coronavirus affects the respiratory system.

As you can see in the quote, The Bachelor star also makes a note of his young age, which could prove helpful fighting the coronavirus. Colton Underwood is one of many to announce that they have the coronavirus this week. Two Game of Thrones vets, Kristofer Hivju (Tormund Giantsbane) and Indira Varma (Ellaria Sand), are among those to share their diagnoses on social media.

Believe it or not, Colton Underwood’s diagnosis is not The Bachelor franchise’s first brush with the pandemic. Earlier this month, Clare Crawley’s 2020 season of The Bachelorette was postponed due to the coronavirus. The delay is thought to potentially alter the lineup of Bachelors that were cast for the season.

As many television series have either been delayed or are ending early, the strain of coronavirus is undoubtedly being felt. Bachelor Nation is bound to rally around the franchise veteran, as he is never far from their hearts or The Bachelor’s mythos. This past season, it seemed like Victoria Fuller might even “pull a Colton.”

Peter Weber's season of The Bachelor has been packed with drama, ranging from #ChampagneGate to the unfortunate two-on-one date with Tammy Ly and Mykenna Dunn. Remaining contestant Victoria Fuller deserves the top prize for the most drama not involving any bachelorette other than herself, even though the Chase Rice situation wasn't her fault and the modeling gig that cost her the Cosmo cover didn't come to light until the season was over. Now, new Bachelor footage suggests Victoria F. is going to pull a Colton Underwood on Peter.

No, I'm not referring to Colton's virginity being a major plot point throughout his season of The Bachelor or even the kissing skills that got him roasted by some of his former bachelorettes on Bachelor in Paradise. I'm referring to the twist from his season that was arguably more hyped than his virginity: the fence jump.

As The Bachelor fans -- and probably anybody who watched ABC during Colton's season -- remember, an overwhelmed Colton jumped over a fence to escape Chris Harrison and producers. Long before the show actually revealed what motivated Colton to make a run for it, bits and pieces of the jump and Colton's increasingly emotional state appeared in promo content.

In the trailer for the rest of Peter's season, an upset Victoria F. can be seen telling the cameraperson following her that she "can't" and that she's "so fucking done" while walking away into the darkness.

She doesn't actually run away or jump a fence like Colton did, but she's also not the lead of the season, so nobody chased after her when she quickly walked away. Who knows what she would have done if the person manning the camera followed her?

Of course, it's not altogether surprising that Victoria F. has a little bit of a meltdown, even if The Bachelor didn't spend most of the season hyping her kinda sorta pulling a Colton and walking away from the production team. She's seemed somewhat off-balance to me ever since she was surprised with her ex Chase Rice on what should have been a wonderful one-on-one with Peter, and her uncertainty about the whole Bachelor process made it somewhat surprising that Peter kept her and sent home Kelley Flanagan this week.

The trailer for the next episode does show pretty much everybody except for Chris Harrison breaking down in tears, and it seems there will be some Colton-esque virginity drama once Madison drops the bombshell that she's saving herself for marriage. What does this mean for Peter "Four Times In A Windmill" Weber? Will Madison continue saving herself for marriage, or will she be the woman (or one of the women) he's intimate with during his season of The Bachelor?

More drama will unfold between Victoria and Peter in the hometowns episode, and it looks like they'll have a fight shortly before Peter meets her family. Craziness is undoubtedly in store. Be sure to tune in to ABC on Monday, February 17 at 8 p.m. ET for the next new episode of The Bachelor.

The long-awaited episode featuring Peter Weber's explanation for the face wound he sustained during his season of The Bachelor finally arrived, and the truth behind the stitches was silly enough that even Peter couldn't help but laugh when he told the contestants what had happened. Yes, the leading man of The Bachelor ran into a stationary golf cart while trying to climb in holding a glass, and the end result was 22 stitches, a bandage on his head, and host Chris Harrison comparing the incident to when former Bachelor Colton Underwood jumped a fence to escape producers.

Chris Harrison's commentary on the incident hilariously came at the very end of the episode, with his face obscured and his voice modified for anonymity, only for his identity to be given away at the very end. A staged gag? Sure. Hilarious all the same? 100%. Weighing in on Peter's injury compared to Colton's break for freedom, Harrison said this:

Harsh! When Peter isn't dealing with the latest batch of drama (which continues despite the passing of ChampagneGate and the departure of Alayah Benavidez) or smashing his face while trying to step into a golf cart, Chris Harrison is making fun of him for being clumsy! And this from the Bachelor host who says he's "someone to be trusted."

In all seriousness, Chris Harrison's commentary on Peter's clumsiness combined with the actual footage of the injury and the comparison to Colton jumping the fence makes the one-minute tag of the massive three-hour episode a highlight in my book. The Bachelor hasn't shown much of clumsy Peter, but if there's truth to Harrison's words, then there's a lot we don't see about his adventures looking for love.

As Bachelor fans will undoubtedly remember, Colton definitely didn't smash his face or any other body part when he fled from producers and jumped a fence to escape. It was a twist that was heavily promoted and hyped in the weeks leading up to the jump, and although he later shared that he didn't actually expect to escape when he ran, he did explain what happened after he did it.

While Colton obviously wasn't in a joking mood when he fled the Bachelor team by nimbly jumping a fence, he has recovered enough to joke about it. When the official Bachelor Twitter account posted a video of Chris Harrison roasting Peter for smashing his face, Colton shared a response:

Colton may have been roasted in the Bachelor franchise from everything from his virginity to his kissing skills, but he clearly has it in him to do a little roasting back when it comes to how heavily ABC and The Bachelor hyped the big fence jump. In comparison, Peter's injury was barely even promoted at all. Of course, Peter was genuinely injured and needed medical treatment, so making light of that might have felt a little too sensational compared to what Colton did.

Anyone who watches The Bachelor knows the fandom can be pretty intense. Fans are quick to dig up any and all info they can on the contestants, talk to exes of said contestants, and typically leak the winner of the competition before the season even gets underway. Ever wonder how so many people are able to find out information that, ideally, ABC would like to keep under lock and key until the season finale?

It takes dedication, and a bit of ingenuity. While many fans wait for Reality Steve's spoilers, in the case of one fan of The Bachelor, she went to crazy lengths to figure out who 2019 Bachelor Colton Underwood ended up with long before everyone else. According to her post on Twitter (which was acknowledged by Underwood), the sleuth scoured the money service app Venmo for Underwood's name, and was able to figure out who he ended up with based on that alone.

It's a scary reminder of just how much someone can find out about a stranger by social media, though one has to imagine there were easier methods of figuring this one out. After all, who jumps on Venmo to do anything other than to pester that friend who told you they'd get you back for drinks that one night but then never did?

It doesn't seem like an easy way to figure out much of anything about a person, let alone the woman Colton Underwood picked during his fence-jumping season of The Bachelor. With that said, Underwood asked how this woman was able to figure everything out well before hand, and her response actually made a lot of sense.

Colton Underwood was friends with a number of folks with the last name Randolph, which then led to Cassie Randolph. It made sense, though one has to think this person began to doubt themselves just a bit after Cassie's exit. Of course, Colton ended up chasing after her again without the pressure of engagement, so the Venmo prediction ended up holding true after all. That's quite a way to secure a win in The Bachelor brackets!

Once this bit of internet sleuthing was uncovered, other users on Twitter came forward to admit they had done similar things in the past. One Bachelor fan said she did a similar method of investigation, but searched Colton Underwood's friend list on Facebook and saw a lot of the Randolph family on his friends list. Basically, everyone who appears on any reality television series should delete all their social media before doing so, both to prevent spoilers and controversy.

The Bachelor’s Colton Underwood Got Roasted As A Bad Kisser On Bachelor In Paradise

The Bachelor Season 24 with Peter Weber kicks off on ABC Monday, January 6. So far, Reality Steve has revealed Bachelor Peter's final two, but maybe these sleuths can dig up official information on who (if anyone) he picked in the end. Colton Underwood's season of The Bachelor broke the mold for how the show usually goes, not least because he was best known for being a virgin. The Bachelor went hard on the virgin angle (as well as the fence jump angle), and he eventually started lying to producers to conceal the fact that he was in love with Cassie Randolph rather than still into Tayshia Adams and Hannah Godwin. Now, Tayshia and two other women on Bachelor in Paradise blasted Colton's kissing skills... on national television.

A group of Bachelor in Paradise singles were sitting around a fire, and Derek Peth started asking the ladies about their worst kiss ever. After Kristina Schulman said that her worst kiss slobbered all over her face, a laughing Sydney Lotuaco beat around the bush before admitting that Colton was her worst kiss ever. Everybody burst out laughing, Caitlin Clemmens stood up, and this happened:

Ouch! Sydney definitely did not look or sound sorry when she said it, and pretty much everybody was laughing hysterically at this point. While Colton certainly wasn't my favorite person in the history of The Bachelor franchise, I have to hope that he wasn't watching Bachelor in Paradise! Especially if Cassie was by his side. She may have been fine with his kissing skills, but that could make for an awkward night of vegging out in front of the TV.

Bachelor And Bachelorette Couples: Who Actually Got A Happy Ending?

And that wasn't even the end of the roasting, as Tayshia walked up to the circle around the fireplace. When asked if Colton was a bad kisser, Tayshia initially felt awkward, especially since she was thinking about cozying up to Derek after John Paul Jones started heading out on dates with the new girls. When Derek explained that they were talking about their worst kisses and two women had already named Colton, Tayshia was happy to open up. She said this:

That's three women who named Colton as a bad kisser, and none of them seemed to feel too bad about roasting his skills on national television. Honestly, I just wish that Hannah G. had wandered over to weigh in. Like Tayshia, she was one of Colton's top three before he revealed that he'd already chosen Cassie, freaked out at her rejection, and ran away to jump the fence. Oh, The Bachelor Season 23, you were a ride!

The conversation about worst kisses wasn't even the last time Tayshia decided to throw shade at Colton, and she wasn't goaded into it the second time. In a confessional that saw Tayshia talking about how she was moving on to Derek, she said this:

Tell us how you really feel, Tayshia! In all seriousness, while it's clear that Tayshia and the other women who were roasting Colton are more than ready to move on with other relationships, none of them appeared to feel bad about their comments. Well, he did get rid of them from The Bachelor! And honestly, after what he did to Tayshia and Hannah G., I think they're both entitled to be snarky about him.

Now, Colton's days as The Bachelor are over, and he's even weighed in on who the next Bachelor should be. While I previously was on Team Derek for the next leading man, spoilers suggest that somebody else will be the Bachelor in 2020. Chris Harrison explained why the next Bachelor wasn't revealed in the finale of Hannah Brown's season of The Bachelorette, and Bachelor in Paradise is in full swing, so hopefully the wait is almost over.

Colton Underwood's season of The Bachelor may be best remembered for the leading man getting so sick of the show at one point that he literally jumped a fence and ran away, baffling the production team and host Chris Harrison. Throw in the fact that Colton screwed up the normal format of the show by deciding who he wanted to choose before the time came for the proposals, and it was hardly a conventional season of the show. Now, Colton has revealed that he started lying to producers early on, and it's partly due to those lies that the season went the way that it did.

Originally one of Becca Kufrin's suitors on her season of The Bachelorette, Colton ultimately chose Cassie Randolph, although they only wound up in a relationship rather than engaged to be married. There was no final rose ceremony or couple of epic proposals or any of what usually happens at the end of a Bachelor season. So, when did the season go sideways and guarantee that it wouldn't come to a normal end?

To hear Colton tell the story, it was quite early on, and it had to do with his early feelings for Hannah Godwin. Apparently, producers selected who went on dates with Colton based on his rankings of the women, and he noticed something fishy about his rankings and what producers delivered. Speaking to the This American Life podcast, Colton said this:

Colton went on to explain that he just always kept Hannah Godwin on the top of the list and "never changed it," even after he started to fall hard for Cassie Randolph. The producers just had no way of knowing that Cassie had replaced Hannah in Colton's heart, and Colton wasn't changing his story even when he made the journey to Portugal for fantasy suites dates with his three finalists: Cassie, Hannah, and Tayshia Adams.

What seemed like a relatively sudden meltdown that led to the fence jump went down in Portugal. Colton was ready to choose Cassie, which went against what he'd been leading producers to believe for quite some time. It does seem like the producers caught on at least a little bit, though, as demonstrated when Cassie's dad appeared in Portugal to talk to his confused daughter. Notably, Cassie's dad had been the one to hold back from giving Colton his blessing to marry his daughter during the hometown visit.

According to Colton, the same thought was running through his mind that was running through the minds of many viewers: there was no way Cassie's dad just happened to show up in Portugal, and it's not like Tayshia and Hannah's dads were being flown out to chat with their daughters. It struck me as pretty laughable back when the season was airing, but Colton clearly wasn't amused.

Colton didn't actually know about Cassie's visit from her dad until the fateful dinner when she revealed she'd decided to leave, and filming for that dinner was out of the ordinary, according to the Bachelor himself. While producers are often "hovering" during the dinners, only the "cameras" and "audios" were present. Why? Well, Colton thinks that "they knew that I knew."

He elaborated on what happened at the dinner when he learned about the visit from Cassie's father:

Would this have happened if Colton had been straight with the producers about preferring Cassie to not only Hannah, but everybody else? We can't say for certain. The Bachelor definitely isn't designed to be sabotaged by the person at the center of it, and the stress of the season clearly had quite a toll on Colton. As much as the fence jump was played for spectacle and drama in the build, it was the result of Colton really needing to get away.

That said, Colton himself admits that maybe he was a bit at fault for how it went down:

And the rest is history. Heartbroken, confused, and overwhelmed, Colton grabbed his wallet, shoved a camera, and ran out into the Portugal night to jump a fence and escape. There was more to the story, though, as he explained that he was so desperate to leave that he was prepared to pay for his own flight home, which would have meant getting a new passport. Why? Because the Bachelor producers apparently had his passport.

After about two hours, Colton gave up his mission to run away, and he gave himself up to producers. He wasn't done playing the system, though, as he revealed that he went to the show's therapist to vent his feelings and plan his next move, because the Bachelor rule is that filming while contestants talk to the therapist is not allowed. Sneaky, Colton!

He did eventually get a happy ending, although he had to have some rough conversations with Tayshia and Hannah, not to mention make the right overture to Cassie, before he got there. And then, he had to go through his season of The Bachelor airing on ABC. As evidenced by Hannah Brown's discoveries about Jed after she chose him but before the official ABC reveal, what happens while the episodes air can impact the ending for the couples.

In Colton's case, he and Cassie weathered the storm, but he weighed in on how it felt to see the fence jump hyped up as something it wasn't:

After everything Colton and Cassie went through on The Bachelor, I hope that they get to enjoy some peace and happiness out of the limelight and away from the franchise drama. Colton's two runners-up, Tayshia and Hannah, are both in the mix on Bachelor in Paradise at the moment, and it hasn't been going super well.

Hannah is in the midst of a love triangle -- recently more or less downgraded from a love pentagram -- and Tayshia more or less recovered from the Blake fiasco to hear John Paul Jones attempt to recite Shakespeare at her. She didn't hold it against him that he forgot most of the lines (or quoted a play where the romance ended with the two lead characters dead). Could they be the next big couple on Bachelor in Paradise?

Bachelor In Paradise Spoilers: What Happens With John Paul Jones And Tayshia?

Whenever ABC chooses a new lead for The Bachelor or The Bachelorette, fans always wonder how they decide who's right for the top spot. Of course, this is especially true if the good people of Bachelor Nation decide they dislike the latest Bachelor or Bachelorette. Well, now franchise host Chris Harrison has let us in on the secrets behind deciding who will next be chosen to date 30 sometimes-not-so-wonderful singles all at once.

You hear that Bachelor Nation? Tyler Cameron might not be the reality dating show hero we need right now! OK, now that you've all composed yourselves (or fired off angry missives to ABC, Chris Harrison and Bachelor producers) we can break down what Harrison told E! News with clear heads.

As you might imagine, it's not just one thing that leads the producers to choose every Bachelorette and Bachelor, as there are a host of qualities and circumstances that are needed to make a person right to step into the role of lead in the franchise.

Obviously, pretty much everyone who shows up on either show is physically attractive, so that never has to be a real consideration, but that doesn’t mean that every good looking man and woman who has graced the franchise is fit to lead. The first thing Harrison mentioned as something they look for in potential leads is “television,” and I’m going to assume that he means two things here, which actually also encompass the "story" and "layers" portions of his explanation.

First, the audience needs to have some connection to the person they choose. On a show like Bachelor in Paradise, it’s pretty easy to pick out anyone from past seasons, because there are so many cast members, and everyone has their own storyline. But, being the lead means being able to really drive the main story of the season, and that’s always the search for love. If the fans don’t feel a connection with the lead, then they won’t care whether or not that person finds love and the whole idea of the series is sunk.

The idea of this connection is probably why leads are typically chosen from the previous seasons. Hannah Brown, for example, started her Bachelor journey on Colton Underwood’s season of The Bachelor, and Colton, in turn, was plucked from Becca Kufrin’s Bachelorette season to act as lead. This way, there’s already built-in interest from at least a portion of the audience, meaning that people will be invested in each lead's story right away.

Secondly, and this one is way more straight forward, the producers have to look for someone who would make for good television, in general. If you’ve watched either show (And I know you have. I mean, come on, you’re reading this article.) you’ll know that not every pretty person who shows up in Bachelor-land turns out to be comfortable being open with their feelings in front of cameras. And, this makes sense, because the cameras are on these people all the time for several weeks.

Once they find a few people who fit these requirements, the producers need to branch out and consider other aspects of each potentials' life. Chris Harrison used the perfect example of Tyler Cameron, who made a wonderful showing on Hannah’s recently completed season of The Bachelorette. I don’t have any firm numbers on this, but as a part of Bachelor Nation who happens to pay attention to what people say about the show online every season, I’m going to guess that about 90% of female America is in love with Tyler right now, so he clearly fulfills those top two requirements.

But, as Harrison so deftly pointed out, while a lot of people would love to see him as the next Bachelor, Tyler might not be into the idea, mainly because he seems to be getting kind of serious with supermodel Gigi Hadid.

If you can date a supermodel (Not that everything is about looks, but…come on!) then why waste your time by heading back into the drama-filled environment that is the Bachelor franchise? Not only are you cut off from all your family and friends for weeks at a time, but you have to date a lot of people at once, break up with most of them on camera and expose a lot of yourself (No, not like that. Minds out of gutters, people.) with soooo many people watching.

Sure, you might find real love in the Bachelor franchise, but most people would probably prefer to find it without going through the deep scrutiny that comes with looking for their person on national television. And, as we all know, that spotlight doesn't immediately go away once your time on the show is over.

When you add up the ability of someone to capture people's attention and get them invested in their quest for love, and the timing of that quest compared to when the franchise needs a new lead, well, Chris Harrison is telling us that that's the perfect storm that gives us The Bachelor and The Bachelorette every season. And, so far, they seem to be doing a pretty good job of choosing folks. You don't get to Season 24 and 16, respectively, and have a franchise that is bad at picking leads.

Right now, you can watch a lot of also-rans from the Bachelor franchise try to find love in Mexico, when Bachelor in Paradise airs on ABC, Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EST. The 2019 Bachelor, Colton Underwood, has a pretty compelling -- but also pretty funny -- reason for wanting The Bachelorette pilot Peter Weber as the 2020 Bachelor.

Bachelor Colton is still with his non-fiancée Cassie Randoph after the fence-jumping drama of The Bachelor Season 23 finale. Colton and Cassie were recently asked to name their choices for the next Bachelor. Cassie answered first, picking Peter of Bachelorette Hannah Brown's current 2019 season, and her answer informed Colton's half-joking follow-up:

Let's be honest: Colton Underwood would need to be told how to get there himself. But I do agree that pilot Peter Weber's pool table move was more awkward than hot. But I also agree with what Cassie said to ET, that Peter is cute. I don't mind his fumbling attempts at romance. I still love that conversation he had with Hannah, asking to be her boyfriend -- joking that he didn't mind that she was still dating more than a dozen other guys.

At this point, Bachelorette Season 15 is still airing and Peter is still one of Hannah's boyfriends. Without spoiling anything, the finale spoilers themselves recently changed, potentially altering the frontrunners for who becomes the next Bachelor. If Peter becomes the 2020 Bachelor, he would be the second pilot, after Bachelor Jake Pavelka's controversial 2010 season. But he would be the first Peter, since Peter Kraus turned down the chance to be the Bachelor after Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay's season.

We are still a few weeks away from Bachelorette Hannah's finale, which should end July 29, a week ahead of the rescheduled Bachelor in Paradise 2019 premiere on August 5. In the meantime, we know plenty of drama is ahead for Hannah, including Luke P. vs Garrett, Luke P. vs Hannah on the topic of sex, and then whatever is happening with that engagement ring discussion in the promo. Expect Luke P. to be involved because this is The Luke P. Show.

(I'm not convinced ABC won't push for Luke P. as the next Bachelor since he's pure drama.)

Since The Bachelor usually doesn't start filming until September for a January premiere, there's plenty of time for ABC and the producers to weigh their options after Bachelorette Hannah's season, and potentially even after Bachelor in Paradise.

We love to dive into The Bachelor and The Bachelorette so that we can live vicariously through the very, very pretty contestants (yes, the men, too) as they have ridiculously exotic dates, flirt, make out and, hopefully, fall in deep, deep reality show love. The Bachelor franchise is still going strong, but, unfortunately, the same can only be said for a few of the couples who've come out of the shows.

The Bachelor had been chugging along nicely by the time 2009 rolled around, but something that had never happened before was about to cause a lot of controversy. Season 13 Bachelor Jason Mesnick proposed to Melissa Rycroft at the end of his season, but, and this is a very big "but," by the time his After the Final Rose special was ready to be filmed, he'd changed his mind. So, as the special was being taped, he told Melissa, on camera, that he couldn't stop thinking about runner-up Molly Malaney and he wanted to give things a shot with her. I. KNOW. It was touch and go for a while with the new couple, but it looks like this was the right decision. Mesnick and Malaney married in what was only the second Bachelor televised wedding in February 2010, and now have a 6-yr-old daughter named Riley.

Arie Luyendyk Jr. And Lauren Burnham - The Bachelor, Season 22

On to another controversial Bachelor ending. Season 22, which aired in early 2018, saw Arie Luyendyk Jr. get to his final two (Becca Kufrin and Lauren Burnham) and decide to propose to Kufrin, sending Burnham home in tears. But, alas, there was another speedy and shitty change of heart afoot. A few weeks after filming had ended, and after being engaged during that time, Luyendyk tells Kufrin that he's more in love with Burnham than her and needs to call off the engagement. At his After the Final Rose taping, he reunited with Burnham and got down on one knee to propose. The couple married in January 2019 and welcomed daughter Alessi on May 29 of the same year.

Desiree Hartsock And Chris Siegfried - The Bachelorette, Season 9

Ah, it really sucks to be dumped on national television, but that's exactly what happened to Bachelorette Desiree Hartsock during Season 9 in 2013. She was nearing the end of the road, with three men left, but before her one-on-one date with Brooks Forrester, he had to tell her that he wasn't in love with her and took himself out of the running. This led Hartsock to debate whether or not she even wanted to continue with the show, because she had to admit that her feelings weren't as strong for her other two suitors. As could be expected, though, she rallied, stuck with The Bachelorette and chose Chris Siegfried, who did, indeed, propose. They married in January 2015, and now have two young boys, Zander and Asher.

Ashley Hebert And J.P. Rosenbaum - The Bachelorette, Season 7

Ashley Hebert and J.P. Rosenbaum had a pretty easy road to happiness when it comes to Bachelor franchise couples. The seventh Bachelorette, who reigned in 2011, chose Rosenbaum at the end of her season and he proposed. The couple married in a ceremony that aired on ABC in December of 2012 and they now have two children: son Fordham Rhys and daughter Essex.

Jojo Fletcher And Jordan Rodgers - The Bachelorette, Season 12

The Bachelorette Season 12, saw Jojo Fletcher give her heart to Jordan Rodgers after dating 26 men. Once again, their season, which aired in 2016, only had a standard amount of drama, backstabbing and heartbreak, so the road was relatively easy for the couple. Fletcher and Rodgers are now engaged and live together in her hometown of Dallas.

Becca Kufrin And Garrett Yrigoyen - The Bachelorette, Season 14

Bachelor Nation loves a controversy, and Bachelorette Becca Kufrin's 2018 season had a few of them. Unfortunately, one of those controversies surrounded eventual winner Garrett Yrigoyen, who was revealed to have liked and commented on several Instagram posts that many people found insensitive. But, it hasn't appeared to slow this couple down; they got engaged on the Season 14 finale and are still together.

Rachel Lindsay And Bryan Abasolo - The Bachelorette, Season 13

One of the major narratives of The Bachelorette Season 13 was the relationship between Rachel Lindsay and Peter Kraus, to the point where many fans were calling for him to become the next Bachelor if he didn't manage to win Lindsay's heart. Well, it turned out that neither was destined to happen. During the finale, Kraus and Lindsay went through an excruciatingly long and emotional goodbye when he tells her he wants to continue in a relationship with her but is simply not ready to propose right then. But, Abasolo was ready, and Lindsay said yes, leading many to think all she was interested in was being engaged and not staying with the right man, a charge that Lindsay has denied ever since. She and Abasolo are still engaged, they live in her hometown of Dallas and hope to marry in 2019.

Sean Lowe And Catherine Giudici - The Bachelor, Season 17

Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici seem to have a pretty fairytale-like love story, with the exception of him dating 24 women at the same time as her, that is. He proposed to her in The Bachelor finale of Season 17 in 2013 and the couple married in a televised ceremony in January 2014. And, the good news just keeps coming for them, as they have two sons, Samuel Thomas and Isaiah, and are now expecting their third child.

Trista Rehn And Ryan Sutter - The Bachelorette, Season 1

Now we're bringing out the big guns! Trista Rehn and Ryan Sutter are the OG's when it comes to Bachelor Nation couples. The met on the very first season of The Bachelorette, Ryan proposed and they married in, you guessed it, a televised ceremony which aired in December 2003. They are still together and have two children: daughter Blakesley and son Maxwell.

Colton Underwood And Cassie Randolph - The Bachelor, Season 23

Aw, yeah! Gotcha! Bet you thought I'd forgotten about the most recent happy couple to come out of The Bachelor, didn't you? Well, Season 23, featuring virgin Bachelor Colton Underwood just finished airing on March 12, 2019, so we can't really jump the gun and say that Underwood has for sure found his happily ever after in Cassie Randolph. But, the two sure gave us some drama on the way to full-on relationship status. As Underwood neared the finale, Randolph told him she didn't think she could get to "in love" with him by the end of filming and broke up with him. This led him to realize he was more in love with her than the other two women left, he cried a lot, jumped a lot of fences (OK, just one. But it was in Portugal and at night!), broke up with the other two women and found Randolph as she was packing to leave to beg her to give their relationship a shot. Randolph accepted, and the two are currently dating but have not gotten engaged.

Well, out of a combined 38 seasons between The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, 10 happy couple isn't that many. I think, though, that we can all agree that it's better than none. The Bachelor franchise has been going strong on ABC for more than 40 seasons, counting installments from The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, and Bachelor in Paradise. The latest batch of episodes has been the Colton Underwood-led season of The Bachelor, and it has been... an interesting experience for viewers. It marked Colton's third stint in the franchise in the span of less than a year, and it has largely consisted of talk about Colton's virginity, which has been a topic of conversation ever since Becca Kufrin's run on The Bachelorette.

With Colton's season now at an end, it's time to look back at what didn't work terribly well and consider what the Bachelor franchise needs to learn.

Pick A More Popular Lead

It's not difficult to understand why The Bachelor went with Colton for the leading man of Season 23, considering all the buzz surrounding him after the reveal of his virginity on The Bachelorette, the drama surrounding his connection with Tia on both The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise, and the continued talk about his status as a virgin. The problem is that the buzz about Colton didn't necessarily translate to enthusiasm for Colton.

Going by social media, Colton wasn't exactly unpopular after The Bachelorette, even if other contestants were more of a hit with fans. Once he appeared on Bachelor in Paradise and the drama with Tia started while he was still mooning over Becca and keeping his options open with the other Paradise ladies, however, he didn't really come across as somebody all viewers would want to root for finding love in his own season of The Bachelor.

His selection as the next Bachelor didn't result in the warmest response from fans, with a Bachelor alum even weighing in. I was already exhausted by how much Colton I'd gotten from the franchise by the end of Bachelor in Paradise, and it didn't help that the announcement of him as the next leading man of The Bachelor came while Bachelor in Paradise was still running, making the focus on his relationships with Tia and the other women feel like wasted time. Too much Colton, too little time.

Cast A Lead With More Angles

No, I'm not talking about aesthetically. Over the past three installments of the Bachelor franchise, I think viewers have seen enough shots of him showering to vouch that he has plenty of pretty appealing angles. Colton's lack of angles as a Bachelor lead stems from what he brings to the table as somebody looking for love. As a contestant on The Bachelorette, he stood out because of his virginity and Becca's penchant for jumping on him to greet him whenever they got some alone time.

As a contestant on Bachelor in Paradise, he stood out because of the drama with Tia... and also the virginity. Heading into his season of The Bachelor, the only angle he really had going for him was that he was still a virgin. In fact, if any viewer attempted to play a drinking game and took a sip every time somebody said "virgin," they would have been hospitalized for alcohol poisoning a long time ago.

Sure, he was looking for love and marriage, but in theory, so is everybody else ever to appear on one of the shows in the franchise. The Bachelor even seemed aware that Colton didn't bring a lot of nuance as the leading man. The most-hyped event of the season was his unexpected jump over a fence in Portugal, not on what he brought to the romances. His virginity and his jump over the fence weren't enough to sustain a whole season.

Mix Up The Format

Although Colton's most notable angles for the majority of the season were his status as a virgin and his leap over the fence, one element that his season will likely be most remembered for is the botched ending. Fans of the Bachelor franchise know that the final episodes of seasons generally involve home visits, fantasy suite dates with the final three, the elimination of one, and then a heartfelt struggle to choose between the final two worthy candidates.

Colton turned the format upside down with the bombshell reveal during the fantasy suite episode that he'd already decided on who he wanted to marry: Cassie. He shared his intention with Cassie during the date that should have led to their night together in the fantasy suite, which was notably after his fantasy suite with Tayshia and before what was supposed to be his night with Hannah G. Cassie wasn't ready to commit, and she left, leaving Colton with two women he didn't want and ready the quit the show.

As such, the finale on March 11 was an underwhelming two-hour affair that felt like it was killing time, as Colton had no decision to make. The After the Final Rose special promised to deliver some closure (and a new Bachelorette), but The Bachelor sticking to its format almost religiously meant that Colton's decision derailed the season without the chance for recovery. The Bachelor should mix things up to prevent another fiasco such as what happened after Colton fell utterly in love with Cassie ahead of schedule.

Bring In Older Contestants

The Bachelor franchise could stand to mix up its contestant pools, and that could mean including contestants a bit older than those who appeared in Colton's season. Only three of the women were over the age of 30, and being over 30 was dubbed "old" by some of the younger women. Of the 30, nine of them were 23 years old. The Bachelor could mix things up in a good way by mixing up the ages of the contestants more than in years past.

That's not to say that the ages need to be drastically far from the lead, and Colton himself is only 27. Still, a wider variety could make for more of an interesting season, and more older contestants and leads could prove that the Bachelor franchise can still try new things. Besides, it's not like 30+ should qualify as old, and it would be even more believable that slightly older people are more ready to tie the knot and start a family.

Colton never felt all that mature and ready for a life beyond reality TV dating to me, to the point that I half wanted Colton to appear on The Proposal if The Bachelor didn't work out for him. I couldn't bring myself to root for Colton, and that meant that his season wasn't as much fun as past seasons in the franchise have been.

Is all of this to say that The Bachelor franchise needs to entirely reinvent itself, or that Colton's season was entirely lacking in fun or appeal? Not at all. The Bachelor has lasted for as long as it has for a reason, the format is still entertaining, and Colton's season wasn't without its highlights. Still, the franchise could stand to make some changes and learn from what didn't work during Colton's stint as leading man.

Fortunately, the franchise undoubtedly will have plenty of chances, even if the midseason moving forward will be devoid of Bachelor action. I don't think we have to worry that The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, or Bachelor in Paradise will end any time soon. The Bachelorette should be the next one with a new season, and it should be fun to compare it to Bachelorette seasons past as well as the most recent season of The Bachelor. I'm just hoping that there's not a repeat of the Arie debacle whenever it hits the airwaves.

Colton Underwood's hot mess of a season as The Bachelor 2019 is not yet finished on ABC. We still have the season finale on March 11 and "After the Final Rose" special on March 12. But it looks like who Colton picks in the end has already been spoiled by paparazzi photos of Colton coming out of the gym. Yes, the dangers of the gym never cease!

JustJared posted what must've seemed like harmless paparazzi snaps of Colton leaving a California gym with singer Jake Miller and actor Gregg Sulkin. The photos themselves are not exciting (but you can check them out here if you want).

The interesting part, as many fans pointed out, is that actor Gregg Sulkin (Runaways) is actually dating Cassie Randolph's sister Michelle.

It doesn't seem like a coincidence that Colton would be hanging out with the boyfriend of Cassie's sister. And it would actually fit with Reality Steve's end-of-season spoilers.

Another SPOILER alert!

Instead of pulling a move like Bachelorettes Ali Fedotowsky and Desiree Hartsock -- just picking someone else when one of the final 3 quits -- Colton reportedly does not just decide to pick between the remaining ladies Tayshia Adams and Hannah Godwin.

Instead, as Reality Steve reports, Colton ends his relationship with Hannah G. without ever going on an overnight date with her. (As you'll recall, she didn't get a date on the fantasy suites episode. They went right from Tayshia's overnight date -- which apparently had no sex -- to Cassie quitting.) Steve says Colton ends things with Tayshia as well, and that's where they basically end filming for the season. It's like a Brad Womack 1.0 -- going home alone.

However, that's not where the story ends! Apparently, after everyone went home, Colton chased Cassie down and they filmed something around her California home where he says what he should've said in Portugal -- that they don't need to get engaged. They can just date. She agrees, and that's where things reportedly stand now.

UPDATE: Reality Steve updated after the March 11 Finale Part 1 and it sounds like the California part of his previous scoop might not have been right, but the location wasn't really the spoiler anyway. Here's what he said will happen on the Tuesday, March 12 show:

Long story short -- Colton and Cassie are said to still be dating.

That's similar to how they did it for most of the early seasons -- the finale ended with dating rather than an engagement. The last time there was no engagement was Juan Pablo Galavis' Bachelor Season 18. (That did not end well.) So that's probably why ABC executive Robert Mills brought up Brad Womack, Juan Pablo, Jason Mesnick, and Arie as examples of how Colton's Bachelor finale goes off the rails.

So we should see all of the finale drama play out Monday, March 11, and then Colton and Cassie should return on the "After the Final Rose" to say how they're doing today. The season was taped months ago, so they have apparently been dating this whole time. Do you think they'll be ready for an engagement, or is it still too soon?

The Bachelor doesn't have a great track record in general, and when couples just decide to "take a chance" on dating in the real world instead of getting engaged on the finale, they usually break up. Two exceptions, interestingly enough, would be Jason Mesnick and last year's Bachelor Arie Luyendyk Jr. Both dumped their chosen fiancée's to start dating their runners-up, and eventually married those second choices.

Last week's episode of The Bachelor left off with Colton's fence jump. Then we had the always dramatic "Women Tell All," showcasing why Rachel Lindsay may have been right that the 2019 Bachelorette should not be chosen from this catty lot. But Reality Steve did share spoilers on who reportedly becomes the Bachelorette, and that Hannah B. announcement is also expected to be made Tuesday on the "After the Final Rose" special.

The Bachelorette has always been chosen from the previous season of The Bachelor, and she starts taping her season right away to air in the spring -- before Bachelor in Paradise continues Bachelor Nation drama through the summer.

The Women and Men Tell All specials have basically become auditions for Bachelor in Paradise, and we can almost certainly expect to see Demi and Courtney continuing their drama there.

The Bachelor Season 23 finale will begin Monday, March 11 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC as one of the many shows now airing in midseason 2019.

Colton Underwood's season of The Bachelor has been filled with the usual romantic shenanigans fans have come to expect of the franchise, but there were some twists with him as leading man. For one thing, Colton entered the series as a virgin, which is a fact that anybody who tuned into previous seasons of The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise knew well. For another, early footage of the season revealed that something would someday upset Colton so much that he would literally make a run for it over a fence.

The Bachelor kept teasing the big jump over the fence week after week, until viewers were dying to know what would happen that he took off, shocking host Chris Harrison, who you'd think had already seen everything after all these years as host of the Bachelor franchise on ABC. As was revealed in the March 4 episode of The Bachelor, Colton leapt the fence after a heartbreaking conversation with Cassie, who he'd intended to choose at the end of the season.

Cassie wasn't certain enough of her feelings for Colton after her dad traveled to Portugal to drop some fatherly advice about marriage on his daughter, and she made the devastating decision to take herself out of the running to receive the final rose and big proposal at the end of the season. Cassie left, and Colton was so upset that he wanted to escape all the prying eyes that come with starring in your own reality TV show.

As was clear in the episode that finally revealed the jump, Colton did actually put a lot of thought into what he was doing, so he's actually lucky that he didn't leap the fence and wind up falling 20 feet or onto dangerous terrain.

That said, Colton did reveal during The Bachelor: The Women Tell All special that he didn't really think he'd be able to escape the production team when he jumped the fence. Here's how Colton put it:

Colton apparently really underestimated just how much the Bachelor team was in the middle of nowhere in Portugal, on a dark night when the show had no reason to set up tents on the other side of an adjacent fence. Well, I'm glad that Colton didn't land on anybody after he jumped the 8-foot fence. He's not a small guy, and he was moving pretty quickly. That might have really hurt and done some damage to both the jumper and the jumped!

Fortunately, nobody was injured when Colton made his jump, and he got to enjoy some temporary freedom from the cameras and Chris Harrison. Footage from next week's two-night season finale event clearly shows that Colton did return to the show, although the circumstances of his heartbreak mean that the finale should truly be something that has never been done in Bachelor franchise history. The leading man isn't supposed to reveal his pick in the penultimate episode, and his pick definitely isn't supposed to walk away from him! Where to next?

Of course, the tell-all episode wasn't actually going to tell all about what's still to come in the season, and Colton never answered the point blank question of whether he's still a virgin. He did elaborate on what was going through his mind after he had his heart broken by Cassie when he'd thought they were in for a great night in a fantasy suite. Here's how he explained:

Well, it sounds like Colton learned a valuable lesson from his heartbreak with Cassie, although he might have benefited from learning that lesson much earlier in the season. A lot of the season saw Colton's various ladies warning him about some of the others trying to win his heart, and he didn't always seem to really understand what was going on beyond virginity puns. The rude awakening in this week's episode was painful, and perhaps it would have gone easier if it had come earlier.

Colton's comments do give fans plenty to speculate about during the wait for the finale to hit the airwaves next week. When the final episode of a normal season of The Bachelor or The Bachelorette usually airs, the lead must choose between two suitors that are madly in love and looking to get engaged. For Colton's finale, the two ladies seemed to be in love with him, but he probably won't be mooning over Tayshia or Hannah G. Not after the reveal of how he'd already set his heart on Cassie.

I'm definitely curious to see if Colton or Chris Harrison comes clean to Tayshia and Hannah G. about what happened when Cassie left. I wouldn't blame either woman if they were pretty mad at Colton after learning that he'd already decided on Cassie. Tayshia already had her fantasy suite night with Colton before Cassie's turn came, and she left feeling great about their relationship.

I can sympathize with how devastated Colton was about Cassie leaving, but I'm also not on his side now that it's come out that he's just stringing the other two women along, making out with them and letting them believe there's a possible future with him. The only thing that we can really say for sure about the finale at this point is that it will be something brand new.

It finally happened, people! After what felt like a billion weeks of watching Colton Underwood's arms and legs do all kinds of things that were not "propelling him over any tall boundaries," the virginal romantic at last delivered the powerfully graceful fence jump moment in the season's penultimate episode. Now that it finally happened, though, fans are wondering what in the world will happen next. Thankfully, Underwood himself shared this shocking admission.

To be sure, the already-taped finale and Women Tell All reunion special had made it clear that Colton Underwood did not permanently end his Bachelor tenure after leapfrogging the fence. (One wonders how any season would fare in general if the star quit just prior to the finale being filmed.) So there will indeed be some kind of an ending for Underwood, even if it's likely not with the woman he had the most feelings for.

For many fans, it was imperative for Colton Underwood to have a beyond-legitimate reason to make his grand fence jump, and Cassie Randolph suddenly breaking up with him during Fantasy Suites week in Portugal was imbued with just such legitimacy. Almost as surprising were Underwood's hardcore attempts to talk Randolph out of her decision to leave, which is usually a no-no on The Bachelor. Alas, she couldn't handle it anymore, and neither could he.

At that point, Underwood started making moves, including removing his microphone equipment, as he walked his way to what would eventually be THE fence. Then, with nary a gut-straining groan, he jumped the fence in a single bound, leaving host Chris Harrison in mild disbelief.

Underwood told THR that not long after that happened, he eventually had a talk with Harrison and decided that his impulsive actions would only be detrimental to the show and the remaining contestants.

Personally, I'm always shocked and partially impressed whenever reality show contestants face tumultuous news and have the wherewithal to not just go berserk on the spot. I'm even more wowed when someone like Colton Underwood can hold on to his composure long enough to eventually make an athletic leap into a dark abyss.

The question on all fans' minds right now is: what's going to happen in the finale? Underwood's final pair of episodes have already been teased as going "off the rails," and it's easier now to see how things might go haywire for the doubled-up finale. Without the woman he seemingly truly did fall hard for, how will Underwood continue connecting with the final two women, Tayshia Adams and Hannah Godwin?

Common sense would say that he definitely won't be delivering a proposal to either of the two women, all things considered. Stranger things have happened, of course, but Colton Underwood pointed out that being on this show offers no guarantees, and that audiences saw how painful things got for him with Cassie Rudolph. In his words:

One thing is for sure, though. No matter what happens, at least we don't have to re-experience the mess that was Arie Luyendyk Jr.'s Bachelor finale, in which he broke up with the "winner" Becca Kufrin and proposed to the runner-up Lauren Burnham. Even if Cassie Rudolph returns and takes Underwood back, it won't be as bad as Arie's double-crossing.

The next Bachelorette is always chosen from the previous season of The Bachelor. She usually starts filming her new season right away after the Bachelor finale, to air in the spring. But you know who thinks none of Colton Underwood's bachelorettes is up to snuff for The Bachelorette Season 15? Season 13's Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay:

Yeah, former Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay made a good point in her candid comments to Us Weekly. There has been a lot of she said/she said drama on Colton Underwood's season. Colton is also providing some of his own drama tonight during the overnight dates episode when he finally jumps that fence. This season is meant to have an off-the-rails finale next week, but first we have the fantasy suites tonight, and the Women Tell All tomorrow (Tuesday, March 5).

Some of The Bachelor Season 23 drama has centered around Caelynn Miller-Keyes, aka Miss North Carolina USA 2018, who clashed on the pageant circuit with Hannah Brown, aka Miss Alabama USA 2018.

Caelynn, who was just eliminated last week, was also dragged into the drama with Colton's clear favorite Cassie Randolph, when both were accused of being there for the -- wait for it -- "wrong reasons." Wanting to be the next Bachelorette was thrown in as an accusation against the pair.

For her part, Caelynn told Us Weekly at the Women Tell All taping that she would not be that excited to return as the Bachelorette:

Well, that's putting it pretty bluntly.

Do you want to know who the next Bachelorette will be? It ... won't be Khloe Kardashian. But spoiler king Reality Steve did share scoop on what he heard as the current plan. Do you want to know? Here it comes:

So, as far as he knows at this point, Hannah Brown, 24, of Northport, Alabama will be the 2019 Bachelorette. He says they'll announce it next week on the After the Final Rose special. I can't say I'm excited about that -- I'd rather see ABC try something brand new -- but so be it.

The Bachelor's crazy endgame begins tonight (Monday, March 4) at 8 p.m. and continues with the Women Tell All Tuesday at 8 p.m. Then the final airs Monday, March 11, with the After the Final Rose episode on March 12. Here's what else is airing during the most dramatic midseason ever.

Colton said goodbye to another contestant in last night’s episode, and it was a shocker. Caelynn Miller-Keyes did not receive a rose from Colton, subsequently sending her home. Now, she is speaking out about her fellow contestants’ assertions that she was not ready for marriage. Caelynn said:

Time is not healing this wound for now. Caelynn talked about her frustrations with the other women to ET and at an intriguing setting. She did so at last Friday’s taping of The Bachelor: The Women Tell All. The seasonal special in which the women open up about their experiences on the show.

Will Caelynn expand on her frustrations during the special? Bachelor Nation will have to watch and see. But, why not get it all out? The whole idea is to air one’s feelings. As for how she felt about being eliminated in the most recent episode. Caelynn did not mince words before re-addressing the other women’s expressed views on her not being ready for marriage. Caelynn said:

True, but does Caelynn think that the other women’s discussion of her readiness to marry impacted Colton’s decision? She does not explicitly state either way in these particular soundbites. Colton’s elimination of Caelynn means that Hannah G., Tayshia, and Cassie are left to vie for the final rose.

Caelynn had been sent reeling by the elimination, and afterward, Colton took The Bachelor’s host, Chris Harrison, aside for a private chat. The contents of which are still a mystery. Will they remain that way for long? It seems doubtful. Speaking of Colton, he explained why he decided to eliminate Caelynn, saying:

So, it was not their relationship, but his stronger relationships with the other women that led to the breakup. Colton’s answer is reminiscent of the classic breakup line: “it’s not you; it’s me.” Regardless of his reasons, Caelynn is still processing everything, which makes complete sense. The rest of Bachelor Nation will get a chance to hear her weigh in during The Women Tell All special.

The Bachelor and Colton’s search for his soul mate will continue and ABC is teasing some big decisions from Colton. As for the moment everyone will be talking about, Colton’s fence jump will occur on the March 4 episode. One thing that Bachelor Nation can now cross off their list of suspected reasons for Colton’s fence jump is an interaction with Caelynn. The most highly-anticipated moment of Colton Underwood's wild season of The Bachelor is on the way, and I'm not talking about Colton losing his virginity. After The Bachelorette and then Bachelor in Paradise, Colton's virginity is practically old news compared to the big event we know is coming. I am, of course, referring to Colton jumping the fence.

The big moment of the leading man literally fleeing the Bachelor set by jumping over a fence has been teased in pretty much all of the promo footage for his season, and the show finally revealed when we'll get to see what leads to Colton making a run for it. As it turns out, the wait is almost over. Colton jumps the fence in the very next episode.

That's right, folks! Colton will jump the fence in the episode that airs on March 4. For the first time, the show and ABC explicitly named when the footage of the jump will hit the airwaves. In the promo for the next episode, the clip of Colton making the jump that we've seen over and over again was shown with a voiceover saying this:

The Bachelor teasing the jump in promos without showing the context got old a while ago, but I'll admit that I got a laugh out of the description of it as "the moment you've been waiting for all season." That's some serious audience awareness from the people who put together the Bachelor promos!

Of course, that's not the only thing that came up in the promo, as next week will be a very big week for The Bachelor. There will actually be two nights of Bachelor action, and the first will be dedicated to Colton hitting the fantasy suite with his three remaining ladies as well as jumping the fence. We've come up with a list of wild explanations for the fence jump; it's somewhat more difficult to guess what's going to go down in the fantasy suite.

We do know which of the women are still in the running to take Colton's v-card. After Colton spent the episodes meeting the families of Hannah G., Tayshia, Cassie, and Caelynn, he finally distributed the roses, and the elimination was a shocker.

Caelynn got the devastating news that Colton was not interested in continuing their courtship, and she was blindsided by his decision. She was clearly embarrassed and said that Colton "fooled" her. It was a teary goodbye, and the remaining women seemed pretty shaken.

Colton was apparently affected as well, as instead of returning to talk with the three women who received roses, he pulled longtime host Chris Harrison aside for a private word. The episode didn't reveal what they talked about. Was it regarding the fantasy suite? Or the elimination process? Or the height of the fences in the general area, in case he needs to beat a hasty retreat?

If the non-jump footage from the trailer is any indication, Colton is more or less ready to hit the sheets with at least one of the remaining women. In a promo voiceover, Colton said this:

Swing for the fences, Colton! The footage shows Colton on a bed with Tayshia, and Cassie and Hannah G. seem excited to possibly be heading in that direction as well. Will Colton finally lose his virginity next week? I'm actually inclined to say no at this point, although it could go either way. Including both Colton's first time and the big jump in the same episode might be too much excitement for one night of television.

There will actually be two nights of Bachelor excitement next week, though. On Tuesday night, the Women Tell All special airs, and we can expect the ladies to dish dirt on Colton and each other. Anyone who's even remotely clued in to happenings on ABC's The Bachelor knows two big things about this season: 1) star Colton Underwood is a virgin, and 2) star Colton Underwood will get so fed up during his season that he will attempt to flee the set by jumping dramatically over a very tall fence. The show has made no bones about either fact, and has especially delighted in teasing viewers with Colton's fence jump since before this season even began airing. Also? Colton's damn fence jump has been used in literally every show promo but one since the first week, so the moment is set to be inspired by something that we've never seen on the dating show before.

In addition to the crazy snippet of footage we've been treated to of Colton taking his rather impressive leap over that fence, Colton, host Chris Harrison and even ABC executives can't stop telling us that Season 23 will be like nothing the show has ever given us before. So, in the spirit of something absolutely batshit causing Colton's fence jump, here are six ways that we'd like this (hopefully) fascinating moment in reality television to go down.

Completely dashed hopes

OK, so right now the only thing we really know about Colton's fence jump is that it's supposed to happen during the all important fantasy suites episode. What are fantasy suites, you ask? Well, that's when our chosen bachelor (or bachelorette) for the season gets to invite each of their final three contestants to spend the night with them in a swanky hotel room and, you know, possibly (probably) do a bunch of not-ready-for-primetime stuff to each other. So, something is going to send Colton off the deep end and over that fence when he should be getting jiggy with it (probably) for the very first time. The promos seem to indicate that there will be tears and fears from Colton aplenty when this episode comes, and rejection could certainly cause that.

I almost said "simple rejection," but let's remember that this event is supposed to blow us away. What if Colton invites each of his final three hopefuls to the fantasy suites...AND ALL OF THEM TURN HIM DOWN?! That's right, ladies and gentlemen, not one or two rejections, but a whopping three rejections for our ex-almost-NFL player Colton. Then (according to the promo), he'll declare, "I'm fucking done," walk off into the night and leap to (temporary) freedom from all this Bachelor bullshit that he completely agreed to go through. I'm only four seasons into my time with this franchise, but has any Bachelor or Bachelorette ever been turned down by all their fantasy suite possibilities? I seriously doubt it, therefore, there's a solid case for this to happen.

Not here for the right reasons

The bane of any well-meaning Bachelor or Bachelorette is finding out that one or some of their potential soul mates is actually "not here for the right reasons." This, of course means that they've decided to take a chance on a dating show where they might be engaged at the end of roughly six weeks of dating a man or woman who is also dating, like, 25 other people at the same time simply because they wanted fame and not true love. Throughout his time in the Bachelor franchise (remember that he was also on Becca Kufrin's Bachelorette season, and last year's Bachelor in Paradise), we've seen Colton make some odd decisions that some might say show the young man isn't actually ready for a long-term commitment.

What I'm getting at, is the idea that Colton's fence jump might come because he realizes that he was the one who was on the show for the wrong reason all along. Maybe one rejection sets off his self-reflection or the sudden understanding, when presented with the possibility of having sex with three women in three days, that he's actually not that into any of them will do it. However it comes, though, Colton will see that he needs to take a step back from this whole experiment and that he may have just wasted everyone's time. Yay!

Too much adventure

As is true for pretty much every season of The Bachelor, Colton and his ladies were treated to some fun times in exotic locales just a few episodes ago. The cast jetted off to Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam earlier this season, and while abroad they engaged in the totally unnecessary practice of tramping through jungles and being forced to eat bugs and insects and get up close and personal with elephant doody, all because Colton has what I can gently refer to as an unrelenting hard-on for athletics and adventure. You know, cause if you're willing to eat bugs and can pull a limo with your teeth it means you'll absolutely be a wonderful wife.

At some point during all this "adventure" what if Colton got parasites? Yeah, I know that trips to exotic places usually come after doctors make you get a bunch of inoculations in personal places, but who the hell knows what's really hanging out in the deep, dark crevices of every damn jungle? What if Colton encountered something that no medicine we know of can eradicate? What if this unknown pathogen took a few weeks to take root and will soon be crawling its way through his lower gastrointestinal tract or...his brain? Theoretically this could cause his crying, foul protestations, bad mood and, yes, fence jumping. I hope you get the help you need, Colton. I might not be your biggest fan, but you don't deserve brain or booty bugs.

Robot love

This is it, guys. This season of The Bachelor is how the machines take over and we lose this planet to our stronger, smarter creations. You know all that not-so-great behavior displayed by Colton across his time in the Bachelor universe (like taking a hopeful to meet his fucking family and then dumping her the same night)? What if he's not just indecisive, confused and way too young for all this shit? What if he's actually a robot who's been created by mechanical overlords to tempt the people of Earth, keep us annoyed and guessing but still emotionally attached, and then lead us to our certain doom?

"OK, smarty pants," I can hear you saying, "If Colton is a robot sent to help lead us to lives spent serving our mechanical masters for the rest of eternity, then why the hell would he need to jump the fence?" Honestly, that question is easier to answer than you might expect. See, Coltonbot isn't a leader in this takeover, oh, no. He's just a pawn used to keep us off guard, and when he gets word that he's served his purpose and helped to keep the masses complacent enough for his robotic brethren to infiltrate the highest levels of society, he'll get right the fuck outta Dodge and jump that damn fence. He's probably been promised a higher level of importance in the robot rebellion than his current role of "mostly shirtless eye candy," and he will literally jump at the chance to move up in the ranks. Damn you, Coltonbot!

Ghosts/demonic possession

I don't know if you've had enough time away from Bachelor Nation in the past year or so, but ghost sex is actually a big deal right now. While living, human ladies are generally the ones partaking of this relatively new pastime, there has been the odd gentleman who's been active in this particular area of sexuality. Though, I will admit that, usually, these folks are getting involved in ghost sex willingly. So, what if one of Colton's final ladies is actually not the one in control of her actions? What if Colton has been dating a woman suffering under the curse of a demonic possession or ghostly invasion upon her oh so young and pretty personage?

I have so many questions now. How did this young woman get possessed? Is she still in there at all, or has the ghost/demon completely taken over her thoughts? If she is still in there, did she and the ghost/demon come on The Bachelor for the right reasons? Does she even really like Colton at all, or has everything "she's" done really been the actions of a supernatural entity bent on taking Colton's sweet virgin ass to the heights (lows?) of interdimensional nookie? We'll have to wait for a bit yet, but my bet is on Hannah G. That's right, like so many of Colton's hopefuls who have been concerned that he was falling for someone who does not have his best interest at heart, I'm naming names. He's been fascinated with Hannah G. from the start, having given her his first impression rose and then taken a tumble around his bed with her. If he invites her to the fantasy suite and she takes her face off or walks on the ceiling or something, that could certainly instigate a very determined fence jump.

Alien abduction

This is it, ladies and gents, my personal top possibility for why Colton starts cursing and finally decides to abandon all hope by taking a jump over that damn fence: he's trying to avoid getting abducted by aliens. I know you must be thinking, "Out of all the people on this planet right now, why the hell would aliens try to abduct a man who's in the middle of looking for love on a reality show?" Oh, that answer is easy enough, really.

Don't you think the aliens have been watching this season of The Bachelor? I don't know where they are (in a small cloaked space ship hiding in the shadow of a satellite...probably), but if your job is to spy on Earth and see what humans are all about, you'd absolutely tune in to one of the biggest shows in the world. And, if you were an alien, knowing that there must be millions of people who are, right now, roughly the same age as Colton Underwood and also virgins, wouldn't you be wondering why this one dude's lack of full-on sexytimes is so much more important than anyone else's? I think, in the middle of other assorted fantasy suite drama, the aliens come to Colton and try to get him back to that ship so they can see what all the fuss is about. Cue Colton's fence jump!

The Bachelor 2019 finale is going to be -- wait for it -- the most dramatic finale ever. The ending of Colton Underwood's Season 23 will have everyone talking, or so says Robert Mills, aka ABC's Senior Vice President of Alternative Series, Specials & Late-Night Programming.

Colton Underwood has said his finale will be unlike anything else, and Robert Mills confirmed that in a recent interview with ET:

Crazy. Strange. In the same realm with Arie Luyendyk Jr., Jason, Juan Pablo, and Brad? Oof. Not great company for love stories, but great company for drama.

Last year, Arie dumped his fiancée, Becca Kufrin, and recently married his runner-up, Lauren Burnham. They are now expecting their first child together. Jason Mesnick was the first guy to pull that exact move back in 2009 in Season 13, when he dumped "winner" Melissa Rycroft for runner-up Molly Malaney. They are now married with a child, too. Brad Womack became the most hated Bachelor in Season 15 in 2011 when he decided to pick himself instead of any of the women. He tried again in Season 15, picking Emily Maynard, but that relationship was short and not that sweet. Juan Pablo was controversial the whole way through, with the unpopular Bachelor making the unpopular choice to pick (but not propose to) Nikki Ferrell.

So if that's the precedent, it doesn't sound like fans will be thrilled with The Bachelor 2019 finale, but they'll maybe be train-wreck-fascinated by it. It beats The Bachelor just repeating that Colton is a virgin, as if that's a personality trait of some kind.

The Bachelor franchise is known for drama, and sometimes the drama carries over into the real world. There's still plenty of drama ahead for this season -- including Colton Underwood apparently jumping a fence to escape/quit, which happens during the fantasy suites week.

However Colton's season of The Bachelor ends, the next question will be Who Is The Next Bachelorette? Becca got the job after Arie dumped her on TV (man that was awkward) and history suggests the new Bachelorette will be someone from Colton's season.

Colton Underwood's greatest fear appears to be learning his love for someone is sadly unrequited, witha proposal being a truly horrifying time to discover such things. Any marriage proposal can be nerve-wracking, and an onslaught of cameras provides more intensity for the pressure cooker that is "asking someone to spend the rest of their life with you."

Whether or not The Bachelor's environment is entirely conducive to finding long-term love is open to debate, but we know which side Colton Underwood is on. That state of mind ultimately worked out for previous Bachelor lead Arie Luyendyk Jr., though his road to happiness proved to be a turbulent one indeed.

The Bachelor Season 23 hasn't even premiered yet, and already one of its contestants has the internet talking. A promotional clip for the upcoming season shows Bri introducing herself to Colton Underwood as a sweet girl with an accent from the land down under otherwise known as Australia. Here's the thing though: That Australian accent is completely fake. And now that they know, the folks of Twitter are obsessed with this girl and her reasoning behind the deception.

Bri's not wrong, a lot of staying on The Bachelor seems to be finding a way to differentiate yourself from the other contestants. That said, Bri's attempt to gain the attention of Colton Underwood may have backfired because he complimented her on the accent, which as we know, is not her actual voice. If she comes clean, is she going to be remembered as the alluring and quirky woman, or the weirdo who lied to him right off the bat?

The Bachelor fans immediately understood Bri's predicament, and they're really hoping she commits to the bit. If the Aussie angle works, many are wanting Bri to continue the act, regardless of whether or not she's familiar with the continent beyond its dialect.

One thing that is known is that Bri's act is eventually found out, as Colton Underwood told TMZ he appreciated the fake accent. In his words, the voice was unique and something different that helped her stand out amongst the crowd. Luckily, he didn't spoil how long Bri sticks to the act, which means there's a chance this goes on for a while. Crikey, it seems as though this is going to be a wild season of The Bachelor.

That said, there may be no harm in Bri being found out, as one astute Twitter user pointed out the contestant may be playing the game smarter than it seems. While Bri certainly allowed Colton to believe she's an Australian, at no point did she say she was actually from there.

Very smooth, Bri. The 24-year-old model from Los Angeles told no lies and asked Colton Underwood if he's a fan of accents. I'm crossing my fingers that means she's got more than the Aussie voice, and she just starts casually slipping into different accents as Season 23 progresses. Of course, there are no guarantee's Colton will like Bri as much as America does, and her run on The Bachelor may last as long as her secrecy about the accent.

It was recently revealed that Colton Underwood of The Bachelorette had been selected as the twenty-third Bachelor. Weighing in on the controversy, and the choice of star, is a man who is familiar with the series and its fans. That would be Sean Lowe, who starred in The Bachelor's seventeenth season. As you can tell, there is a complicated web when it comes to the Bachelor franchise. For his part, Colton Underwood came in fourth for Becca Kuffrin's hand. He went on to try his luck at romance on the spinoff series Bachelor in Paradise, which did not end in an ongoing relationship, as you probably guessed given that he is starring in the upcoming season of The Bachelor. Fans curious over his romantic fate will have to tune in and see if he succeeds.

In response to Sean Lowe's tweet, Colton Underwood replied writing "virgins unite." Underwood has been outspoken about his status as a virgin. Hopefully for Underwood, he can manage to find the lasting joy Sean Lowe has found with his now-wife Catherine Lowe née Guidici, whom he proposed to at the end of his season of The Bachelor. The couple now has two children.

The marriage is testament that despite the shows' rocky track records, couples from The Bachelor franchise can find lasting happiness with their pick on the show. When the announcement was made on GMA, Colton Underwood shared that he was excited about his new role and hoping that his next excursion into reality show love would end with the desired result. And maybe, it will.

Three could be his lucky number. He will be on Season 23 and this is his third trip on The Bachelor franchise. There could be something there and he must trust that the show can find him his special someone for life.
