The last few years have brought us the best video game movies, with the subgenre no longer floundering as it had in the past. The Sonic the Hedgehog movies (which are streaming with a Paramount+ subscription) are definitely on that list, and a fourth film is on its way. Kristen Bell is voicing newcomer Amy Rose, and recently shared a photo from the recording booth. Unsurprisingly, her husband Dax Shepard weighed in with a sweet comment.

Sonic 3's post-credits scene had Amy showing up to rescue the title character from Metal Sonic robots, bringing yet another beloved character from the games to the big screen. Kristen Bell looks like she's having fun voicing Amy Rose, as she shared in the following Instagram post:

Bell is all smiles in the recording booth, and she seems to be thrilled that she's introducing Amy Rose to new audiences in Sonic the Hedgehog 3. It remains to be seen how her character will be portrayed on the big screen. Is she Sonic's number 1 fan like the games or something else entirely? Her post-credits appearance was pretty badass, so I have to assume that her backstory will be somehow altered.

Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard are known for making headlines, whether it's a controversy or the way they are each other's biggest cheerleaders. The latter is true for how Bell's husband gassed her up in the comments section, writing:

This year has had a number of upsetting celebrity deaths. Tributes to Dane have been rolling in ever since he passed away, and Dax Shepard revealed that a special Alcoholics Anonymous meeting was also held in his honor. Let's break it all down.

Since the star of Grey's Anatomy (streaming with a Hulu subscription) passed away, the late actor has continued making headlines. A GoFundMe organized for Dane's family is helping to raise money to support them, and it turns out that there are tons of interpersonal tributes popping up. On a new Fact Check episode of his podcast Armchair Expert, Dax Shepard told co-host Monica Padman how he attended a recent AA meeting that was all about the Euphoria actor. In his words:

Prior to his death, Eric Dane was honest about his long history with drug and alcohol addiction. He even claimed he was drunk on the set of Grey's Anatomy more than he was sober. He and Shepard attended the same AA group together, with the latter actor previously revealing they originally had a contentious relationship before finding common ground.

Later in that same conversation with his co-host, the Parenthood star went on to share how the meeting in Dane's honor went down. In Shepard's words:

I have to wonder what other Hollywood figures might be present during this group's meetings. Of course, they're supposed to be anonymous, so we'll probably never find out. But it's sweet hearing how Dax Shepard and Eric Dane seemingly supported each other on their sobriety journeys. And it sounds like whoever joined the group after the late actor's passing was really emotionally affected by what they all shared.

Both the public and his colleagues have been paying tribute to Eric Dane since his death, highlighting how much his career meant to people. Luckily for fans, he was able to shoot scenes for Euphoria Season 3 before passing away. So there is still some posthumous work to take in.

Who Else Weighed In On Kristen Bell And Dax Shepard’s Marriage?

Justine Lupe – who has starred alongside Bell on two seasons of Nobody Wants This (which is streamable with a Netflix subscription) – saw the Instagram post and didn’t hold back her thoughts. In her comment, Lupe expressed sadness over having seen the news outlet criticize her friend and colleague’s marriage. Lupe also related the situation to a controversy she recently linked to:

Lupe also said she could “understand that getting attention is a challenge for publications like yours- but I’m far more interested in the work you do that elevates and celebrates women”. Also sharing thoughts was Shepard’s podcast co-host, Monica Padman, who expressed her own displeasure with the article. Padman’s post reads in part:

It’s evident that while Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard’s relationship does have its detractors, there are those who are in their corner. I’m not going to sit and say that Without a Paddle, the Seth Green movie from 2004 that co-stars Dax Shepard, Matthew Lillard, and others, is up there with The Godfather or Citizen Kane or anything. However, I do think it’s a funny movie that doesn’t deserve the 15% that it currently holds on Rotten Tomatoes. It helps that the plot involves one of the great mysteries of the 20th Century, one that I’m completely fascinated with, and it features a really fun, slightly more than a cameo role for the late, great Burt Reynolds. Let’s go on this choppy ride…

The Plot Is Built Around The D.B. Cooper Hijacking

Dan Cooper (which almost certainly wasn’t his real name) was a plane hijacker who took control of a flight from Portland, OR to Seattle, WA on November 24th, 1971 by claiming to have a bomb. He demanded $200,000 ($1.6 million or so in 2025 dollars), and four parachutes. After landing in Seattle, authorities gave Cooper, who has become known as D.B. Cooper in the years since, what he wanted, and the plane took off again, after he released the other passengers and the plane refueled.

Cooper demanded the pilots fly to Mexico City, but before long, he opened the rear door of the plane and presumably jumped out, wearing one of the parachutes. He vanished into the night sky somewhere over Oregon and has never been heard from again, and very little of the money has ever been recovered. It’s a mystery that has intrigued many people over the years, including myself. Weirdly, there have not been many fictionalized versions of this incredible story ever put on film. Without a Paddle is one rare exception.

In the movie, three friends, played by Green, Shepard, and Lillard, set out to find out the truth about Cooper and hopefully recover the money. From there, it basically becomes a parody of Deliverance, and that’s what makes Burt Reynolds' appearance in the movie, as Cooper’s “partner,” even better. I love the late Burt Reynolds, especially his work in the ‘70s, so even if this movie isn’t the funniest movie I’ve ever seen, I’ll always love it for that.

My Weird History With The Movie Also Helps

So, here’s my personal backstory with Without a Paddle, and it may help explain why I personally think it’s better than it gets credit for. The first time I saw it was on cable. I’d never even heard of it, but I was flipping channels (like we used to do) and happened upon it. It was probably 15 or 20 minutes into the movie when I found it. I had no idea why these guys were canoeing down a river, and at some point, I picked up on the fact that they were looking for D.B. Cooper’s missing treasure.

It was about the time Reynolds showed up, so I got excited that he could be Cooper. I got this all from vibes, not from the script, so I felt like I was getting an inside joke. It turns out, of course, that this was the plot established all along, but I didn’t know that. It made me love the movie right away. I’ve never wavered, even after watching the full movie a couple of times since. The jokes are corny, and the movie certainly isn’t Caddyshack, or Animal House, or any of the other comedies I consider the GOATs, but it’s fun, and it never slows down. For that, it deserves at least a 25% on Rotten Tomatoes, and I’ll die on that hill. Or in that river, whatever. By the way, you can watch it with the FuelTV add-on with your Prime subscription, if you want to tell me why I’m wrong.

The 2025 Emmy nominations have been announced, and plenty of stars and 2025 TV releases are receiving props. While Severance and The Studio are among the nomination leaders, Nobody Wants This (which is streamable with a Netflix subscription) scored three nominations. With that, the show's lead actress, Kristen Bell, received a nod for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. Afterwards, Bell's hubby, Dax Shepard, took a photo of his enthusiastic wife, who was nude (aside from wearing socks). Hilarious celebrity reactions from Gwyneth Paltrow and more then followed.

I'm so here for Kristen Bell receiving recognition for her latest show. She’s been on amazing shows that have never won an Emmy, like Veronica Mars and The Good Place. Now, for Nobody Wants This, it looks like the Emmys really want this TV show after it received nominations for Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series (for Adam Brody) alongside Bell's nod. I can certainly understand Bell wanting to celebrate, but I'm not sure I expected her to do so as she did in Dax Shepard's. Bell also shared it to her Instagram story:

I'm happy about the nomination, but I'm even more impressed by the photo, to be honest. I don’t even have the flexibility to have a form like that. That aside, Kristen Bell is truly lucky to have such a supportive husband to celebrate her achievement. Bell and Shepard have been married since 2013 and share two daughters.

The Parenthood actor has also seen Bell’s Netflix show, and he had a funny reaction to seeing her smooch Adam Brody on screen, calling it “the very best kissing scene ever, ever put on film.” Their playful honesty and unfailing support for them truly make them one of Hollywood’s cutest couples, in my eyes.

With Nobody Wants This earning Kristen Bell some Emmy love, it's great that she chose to celebrate like no one’s watching. However, the Frozen actress did catch the eyes of a few celebrities, who sent in their hilarious reactions:

In short, the Netflix original is an excellent showcase of Bell's talents.

If this is how Kristen Bell celebrates receiving an Emmy nomination, I can't imagine what she'll do if she wins. Of course, I don't think she'd try to perform a handstand on stage while accepting the award. She could pull another playful, nude stunt at home after the fact, though. In any case, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Bell wins!

Bruce Willis remains a beloved figure within the Hollywood sphere, with fans and fellow celebrities alike having spoken highly of him over the years. Of course, it’s not just Willis’ great films that have earned him the admiration of his peers and the public at large. He’s also been commended for the kindness he’s shown people. Attributes like that can surely rub off on people, and that seemed to be the case with Dax Shepard. As Shepard’s wife, Kristen Bell, explained, he picked up a sweet habit from Willis that persists today.

Kristen Bell participated in a lovely chat with friend and fellow actor Adam Scott as part of Variety’s Actors on Actors series (which is on YouTube). What made the conversation so delightful is that they not only discuss their work but their personal relationship. Early on, Scott brought up Dax Shepard (who he’s also friendly with) and made note of his generosity. Bell eventually recalled how they all recently went out for burgers and, when Scott – who offered to pay, said he didn’t have enough cash, Shepard swiftly stepped in.

As the Severance star put it, Shepard dropped “like eight times the amount of the check on the table.” Bell initially joked that her hubby does that to “flirt” with her, but that’s truly one of her “favorite things about” him. She then went on to explain how Bruce Willis played a role in shaping Shepard’s giving spirit:

The thought of a major actor like the Die Hard icon giving “little presents” to people as he sees fit simply brings a smile to my face. As previously alluded to, this is far from the first time that the actor’s considerate nature has been mentioned. Willis’ Sixth Sense co-star, Haley Joel Osment, spoke about how he was generous with his time on set. Veteran producer Jerry Bruckheimer also revealed how Willis treated the Armageddon crew to regular cash drawings.

Dax Shepard certainly picked up the right kind of habit from a fellow actor, and I love that Kristen Bell finds that so attractive. Both Bell and Shepard – who married in 2013 and share two daughters – have been incredibly open about each other and aspects of their relationship. For instance, amid the COVID lockdown, the couple admitted that they weren’t getting along in isolation. Ironically, Shepard also addressed fans’ assumptions that his wife pays for everything and, based on what we know now, that’s definitely not the case.

It honestly does my heart well to hear so many people praise Bruce Willis following his retirement from acting. Unfortunately, in 2022, Willis’ family announced that he would leave his profession due to being diagnosed with aphasia. His condition was further clarified to be frontotemporal dementia. It’s honestly heartwrenching that Willis is battling the disease and that his wife, Emma Heming, has faced challenges while caring for him. All the while, a story like Kristen Bell’s could help ensure that Willis’ goodwill is long remembered.

Heath Ledger’s death hit fans hard, as well as all those who were lucky to know him. The beloved Hollywood star who never made it to 40 passed away in 2008 of an accidental prescription drug overdose. Michelle Williams and Dax Shepard made sure to share kind words about the Australian actor as they reflected on his legacy and death.

During Heath Ledger’s final days, the Dark Knight actor’s sleeping troubles led to him mixing sleeping pills with other prescription drugs. It was in his SoHo apartment that he took a lethal combination of drugs that led to his fatal overdose. However, the posthumous Oscar winner’s legacy isn’t shaped by his tragic end, but by his talent and goodness he brought out in those who knew him. On Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard, the Parenthood actor spoke about how he knew Ledger when he was getting sober and what he thought of him:

I’m sure Heath Ledger was a special person to be around. Many other actors would agree with Dax Shepard’s kind words, like actor David Dastmalchian. His sweet memories of working with his Dark Knight co-star involved being a witness to the actor’s “kindness” and “gentleness of spirit.” Julia Stiles tributed her 10 Things I Hate About You co-star, saying he was “such a force” as he lit up a room. It's clear Ledger’s friendliness and taking command of a film set never went unnoticed.

Dax Shepard’s guest, Michelle Williams, was noticeably emotional when it came to talking about her ex-boyfriend. While starring in Brokeback Mountain, the two started dating in real life in 2004. Before their split in 2007, the duo had a daughter born in 2005 named Matilda. The Blue Valentine actress made sure to share her thoughts on the late actor and the genuine gift he left behind:

Back when Michelle Williams was thinking about Heath Ledger a decade after his death, she spoke about how heartbreaking it was that her daughter would grow up without a father. However, the Dawson’s Creek alum credited actor Jeremy Strong for stepping up for Matilda, who, along with Williams’ sister and another friend, moved in with the actress shortly after Ledger’s death. It was during that tragic time that the Succession actor had fun times interacting with the young toddler. As depressing as it was for everyone that Ledger couldn’t light up the room again, at least Matilda was still surrounded by love.

While Heath Ledger’s death will always be a tragedy, hearing Dax Shepard and Michelle Williams talk about how “special” he was proves that The Patriot actor truly left a real mark on everyone. With a piece of him left in his daughter, Matilda, his spirit will continue to live on through her.

There are only a few Saturday Night Live episodes left in the show’s milestone 50th season, which means there are only a few more stars on the docket to serve as host. Quinta Brunson is up at bat next, on May 3, while Scarlett Johansson is set to close out the season on May 17. Smack dab in between the two actresses, though, is actor Walton Goggins, who’ll host the show on May 10. As a fan of Goggins, I’m incredibly excited to see what he does, and it would seem that stars like Josh Lucas and Jack Black share my enthusiasm.

It was announced at the end of this past week that Walton Goggins would host Saturday Night Live, with Arcade Fire serving as musical guest. The past several months have seen some excellent SNL hosts take the stage in Studio 8H, but the notion of a comedic talent like Goggins taking the reins truly excites me. When the news was announced, the fan-favorite actor took to his Instagram account to share it. Dax Shepard, Josh Lucas, Jack Black and more stars then took to the comments to hype up Goggins:

You can’t help but smile upon the sight of stars hyping up a fellow performer. Of course, the actors noted above were far from the only users to weigh in enthusiastically, as non-celebrity fans also shared their excitement. These comments are also a true testament to the fact that the Alabama native has more than struck a chord with his various performances. I totally understand the hype, as the Justified cast alum has and continues to put in excellent work.

Although Walton Goggins has been working in Hollywood for some time now, the past several years have truly seen him emerge as a highly-sought-after performer. Fallout, Invincible, George & Tammy and The Righteous Gemstones are just a few of the TV shows on which he’s had starring roles. Most recently, Goggins received praise for his role as Rick Hatchett on The White Lotus (which is available to stream with a Max subscription). Some might say that his “heartthrob status” grew as a result of the HBO anthology series.

It’s interesting to consider what Walton Goggins might do on Saturday Night Live. Right now, I’m tempted to assume that the cast will make use of his Southern heritage and signature drawl while coming up with sketch ideas. There may even be a White Lotus parody during that episode though, after the “White Potus” debacle involving Aimee Lou Wood (who took offense to the sketch lampooning her signature teeth), the show may opt not to craft another parody. A bigger surprise would be if Wood appeared alongside former co-star Goggins on SNL amid rumors that they’re feuding.

We’ll still have to wait a few weeks to see what exactly happens during that particular episode. I’m confident that it’ll be well worth the wait, and that I – along with Dax Shepard, Jack Black and more – will be satisfied with it. For right now, though, let’s keep up the speculation regarding what kind of fun sketches we might see during the show.

The more I watch Severance, the more I want to know, and that means, I’m constantly itching for new episodes! In the middle of Severance’s run on the 2025 TV schedule, Adam Scott appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show to chat about Season 2. The host asked him if he gets “pushed” for details about the show, and in response he called out some of his famous friends, jokingly saying this about Bell and Shepard:

He brought receipts too. After that humorous statement, Clarkson proceeded to play the messages from the power couple, and while the Severance star said Bell and Shepard were “the best,” he also said these “are not particularly fun.”

While these are hilarious, I imagine these voicemails must be jarring to get. During the interview, Scott played the messages he got from the actors, and he started with this one that’s equal parts intimidating and silly:

• Dax Shepard: Alright, you son of a bitch, Bell and I just sat here on the edge of our seats, waiting to find out what happens when you guys come to…
• Kristen Bell: You losers!
• Dax Shepard: Oh buddy, are we [bleeped out] pissed that this episode just ended.

Scott laughed with Clarkson over the messages, joking that they really weren’t “necessary.” However, that didn’t stop the actors from sending them. In another voice note from the Parenthood star, he joked that Bell had been hospitalized after running through a window, and the Step Brothers actor would have to wait until next week to find out if she was OK.

Like many fans of Severance, these two clearly (and hilariously) did not want to wait to find out what happened, they wanted answers ASAP! So, as you can imagine the wait for Season 2 was extra hard for them, as Shepard stated in another message:

However, don’t you worry, while these are a lot, they’re all in good fun. Plus, Adam Scott didn’t hold back with his response to them.

Adam Scott Had An Equally Savage Response

After all that, Adam Scott joked that he wasn’t above fighting back, and fight back he did. In response to seemingly Shepard’s final voicemail about him getting back to set, the Parks and Rec actor said:

My goodness! He can dish it just as well as Shepard and Bell can, and I bet many can relate to the funny stress and tension in every message here. Overall, Severance is easily one of Apple TV+’s best shows, and so many people care deeply about what will happen to Scott’s character Mark, and need to know what happens next.

Thankfully, now we have it, and Season 2 is almost fully out, as the finale drops this Friday. It’s been over a month since Nobody Wants This hit Netflix as part of the 2024 TV schedule, and yet the romcom series is still all anyone can talk about. Even Adam Brody has gotten in on the fun, laughing about all the memes created about his “sexy Rabbi” character. But it’s the “kiss seen around the world” that’s keeping the show alive in many people’s minds — including Kristen Bell’s husband, Dax Shepard, who had a funny reaction to watching the scene with his friend.

While appearing at the New Yorker Festival (via People) this past weekend, Shepard was asked about his relationship with his wife and their own working relationship. For those that might not remember, Bell was the first guest on Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast when it launched back in 2018. The two have also appeared in Samsung commercials together, and Bell and her co-star Brody were also guests on the podcast back in September to promote Nobody Wants This.

Shepard joked that while he and his wife have amazing chemistry on screen together, it’s not as good as the chemistry between her and The O.C. alum. He elaborated by recounting what it was like watching the infamous kissing scene with his childhood best friend, saying:

This isn’t the first time Shepard’s thoughts on the steamy scene between his wife and her co-star have made headlines. A little over a week after the series was released, Bell shared with etalktv that the Armchair Expert host felt the palpable chemistry and was rooting for the two leads to kiss.

While it might seem weird to us “normal” people to have your significant other actively rooting for you to kiss someone else, it’s all part of the acting gig. After all, Bell’s not really the one locking lips with Brody in “The World’s Greatest Kiss.” They’re simply channeling their characters in those intimate moments.

It’s a good thing Shepard is so cool about the whole thing, though, considering Nobody Wants This has already been renewed for a second season by the streaming service. While what we know about Season 2 remains limited, there are a handful of things fans are hoping get addressed in the new season — like how Joanne and Noah are going to make their relationship work now that they’ve fully committed to seeing each other. Hopefully, the season can also address some of the flak it got from audiences regarding the portrayal of the Jewish women characters in the show.

There has been a lot of talk about "nepo babies" over the last few years, and while it may seem like every actor has famous parents. That is hardly the case though, of course. Many of our favorite actors come from much more humble roots. So let's celebrate those stars with this list of actors who came from blue-collar backgrounds. 

Sarah Jessica Parker

Growing up in Ohio Sarah Jessica Parker had a huge family, with seven siblings and step-siblings. She's talked about how there were times her parents struggled to pay the bills and were even on welfare for a time. Though her mom ran a nursery and her stepdad was a truck driver, they still found a way to support Parker's show business dreams and eventually moved to New York so she could star on Broadway. 

James Dean

James Dean is one of the most tragic stories in Hollywood history, and his upbringing was pretty rough too. His father left when he was a toddler and his mother supported the two of them as a single mother during The Depression. That is until she passed away when Dean was only nine. He moved to Ohio and lived with his aunt and uncle where things stabilized for him. After graduating high school, he moved to LA and embarked on his all-too-brief career. 

Maisie Williams

Though she found fame at early age with Game of Thrones Maisie Williams' family struggled when she was younger. She was raised in a council house (public housing in the UK) until she was cast in the hit HBO show at age 12. 

Jeremy Strong

Jeremy Strong may play a scion to one of the wealthiest families on TV in Succession, but in real life, he had a much more humble upbringing. Strong grew up in the blue-collar area of Jamaica Plain in Boston and his father was a guard in juvenile jails in town. Eventually the family moved to the more upscale town of Sudbury, where he went to high school and discovered acting. 

Samuel L. Jackson

For most of his career, Samuel L. Jackson was a blue-collar actor working as much as he could. That makes with his upbringing as the son of a single mother who worked in a factory in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Shania Twain

Shaina Twain is best known as a country singer, of course, but she's done a little acting over her impressive career as well. It's a career that has taken far away from her humble roots outside Toronto, Ontario, where the family struggled. Those struggles led to her finding gigs as a singer at a young age and the rest is history.

Samantha Morton

Samantha Morton had a rough upbringing in the UK. Nine of her formative years were spent in foster care when her parents, who were addicts, weren't able to care for her. She had a couple of scraps with the law herself but started getting acting work in her teens and it all came together. 

Dolly Parton

There is no more revered person in Hollywood (or Nashville) than the great Dolly Parton. She's often talked about her humble beginnings in rural Tennessee as one of 12 children. She has always praised how her mother kept the family together through hard times and when Parton was 18 she moved to Nashville and hit the big time pretty quickly as a songwriter and a singer. 

Adam Driver

Megalopolis star Adam Driver moved around a lot as a kid, living all over from San Diego to Indiana. His stepfather was a Baptist preacher, but he was mostly raised by his mother in Indiana. After the September 11th attacks, he joined the Marines and served, like many other actors have over the years, for a few years before being discharged for a medical reason and starting his acting career. 

Al Pacino

Al Pacino grew up mostly in the South Bronx, and anyone from New York can tell you that the South Bronx in the '40s and '50s was a tough place to live. By his own admission he got in trouble a lot, as often happens with kids with hard working parents. Even as a actor early in his career he couch-surfed with friends until he started landing gigs regularly. 

Dax Shepard

Dax Shepard's family experienced the American Dream, according to the actor and podcast host. His mom worked at GM while he was growing up near Detroit and the family struggled, but as he got older, his mom's career grew and she moved up the ranks from janitor to executive, so by the time Shepard was in high school, she was quite successful. 

Ice Cube

Any fan of N.W.A. knows about Ice Cube's roots in South Central LA as the son of a janitor and a groundskeeper. As a result of desegregation, Ice Cube had the opportunity to get bussed out of Compton and out to the suburbs, where he thrived in English class, something he would make good use of later in life as the principal lyricist for one of the most successful rap acts of all time. 

Jennifer Hudson

Jennifer Hudson, who has won the famed EGOT, was raised with her two siblings by a single mother on the South Side of Chicago. She started working in local theater at a young age and famously worked on the Disney Cruise line before auditioning for American Idol in the show's third season, which was, of course, her big break. 

Mel Brooks

The legendary Mel Brooks, like so many of his generation, was the child of immigrants. He was raised very poor in Brooklyn surrounded by people who worked in the garment industry. Instead of following in their footsteps, he went into show business and the world is luckier for it. 

Joan Crawford

Screen legend Joan Crawford would die a very rich woman, but she started life as the daughter of a construction worker in Texas. After her parents split up and her mother remarried, her stepfather got in trouble in Texas and the family moved to Kansas City where Crawford attended Catholic school as a work student. 

Jim Carrey

At one point Jim Carrey was the highest-paid actor in Hollywood, which is far cry from his humble beginnings in and around Toronto. For a time, Carrey has admitted, they were even homeless. Eventually his father found more stable employment and after dropping out of high school Carrey worked on his stand up routine and took shifts at a nearby factory. 

Misha Collins

Supernatural star Misha Collins grew up working class in Boston and he has said in the past that his family spent some time unhoused. He was lucky enough to gain admission to a prep school, which led him to the University of Chicago and eventually an internship at The White House during the Clinton administration before he concentrated on his acting career. 

Rosario Dawson

Rosario Dawson has been a part of two of the biggest franchises in Hollywood, Star Wars and the MCU. It wasn't always the big time for her though. Her mother was a teenager when she was born and never married Dawson's father, but did marry another man, from whom Dawson takes her last name. He was a construction worker first in New York and later in Texas. 

Jessica Chastain

Though she doesn't talk much about her upbringing, we do know that Jessica Chastain's stepfather was a firefighter and that her family life was a struggle growing up. She grew up in Sacramento with four siblings, though she lost one to suicide when she was in her early 20s. Chastain started acting as a kid and her career would eventually take off and she would become one of the most beloved and acclaimed actors of her generation. 

Daniel Kaluuya

Born of Uganda immigrants in London, Daniel Kaluuya was raised on a council estate in one of the city's most famous blue-collar areas, Camden. He didn't know his father growing up, but he excelled in school and started acting in plays while there. he started landing paying gigs in his teens and the rest is history.

Hilary Swank

Though she has humble roots as the daughter of an army soldier, Hilary Swank grew up in a stable household and even after her parents split up when she was 15, her mother moved with Swank to the LA area so she could try her hand at Hollywood. That bet paid off as Swank has been one of the best actresses around for decades. 

Charlie Chaplin

It could be argued that Charlie Chaplin was the first bonafide superstar of the silver screen. While he would eventually become Hollywood's biggest star and one of the most financially successful moviemakers of his era, his childhood was a hardscrabble upbringing in central London. His parents had no capacity to raise children and he bounced around reform schools and other group homes as a kid before finding his way, first in the theater then later in silent films. 

Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer Lopez famously grew up "on the 6," meaning the 6-Train through the Bronx in New York City. Her father had a job as a computer technician and Lopez had a solid, yet definitely blue-collar upbringing. 

Woody Harrelson

Woody Harrelson has starred in some of the best roles in Hollywood over the last four decades, and one of them, Woody Boyd on Cheers, reflected his actual blue-collar roots in Indiana. The story of Woody Boyd and Woody Harrelson are pretty similar, as both were raised in rural Indiana. Harrelson was famously locked up in prison for most of his upbringing, and he eventually died in prison after Harrelson's career had taken off. 

Viola Davis

Viola Davis was actually born on plantation in South Carolina, if you can believe it. She was raised mostly in Rhode Island, however, but it was a hard upbringing which has described of being very financially unstable. 

Daniel Craig

Daniel Craig may be famous for playing suave, debonair, and sophisticated characters, but that's nothing like his upbringing. His father was a construction worker and bar manager, though Craig does have aristocratic ancestors. 

Joaquin Phoenix

Joaquin Phoenix (and his late brother River) had a wild upbringing. His parent were part of a cult called the Children of God and Phoenix spent much of his early life living in South America as his parents traveled as missionaries for the religious group. Eventually, the family left the cult, adopting the name "Phoenix" as a sign of their rebirth as a family in a new life.

Oprah Winfrey

Oprah Winfrey is famously one of the richest people in Hollywood, but that's not how she started out. Her mother was a teenager in Milwaukee, but before long Winfrey found herself in Nashville living with the man she considers her father. While still a teen in Nashville, she started working in radio, which would eventually lead to her media empire. 

Bella Thorne

The whole reason Bella Thorne became a professional actor was to help support her family growing up. After her father was killed in a car wreck when she was ten, Thorne's mother was left to raise four children on her own. It was a tough upbringing, but the acting gigs started coming more and more often and got her big break on the Disney Channel's Shake It Up in 2010. 

James Caan

James Caan was in some of the best movies in Hollywood history. The list of Caan's best movies is incredible. His father was a deli meat salesman and he grew up in the blue-collar neighborhood of Sunnyside, Queens, in New York City. He found acting while he briefly attended Hofstra, where he would also meet Francis Ford Coppola, who would give the role of Sonny in The Godfather years later. 

Selena Gomez

Selena Gomez was raised by a single mother who had Gomez when she was just 16. Gomez has never been resentful, it seems, and credits her with raising her under such trying conditions. Gomez caught the acting bug at a pretty young age and ws soon landing shows on kids shows, leading to the insanely successful career we all know and love. 

Denzel Washington

Denzel Washington had the definition of a blue-collar upbringing as the son of a beautician and an employee of the water company in his hometown of New York City. His parent worked hard to make sure he got a good education and after graduating from Fordham, he embarked on one of the most successful Hollywood careers of all time. 

For over a year now, Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour has been one of the biggest phenomena to happen in music, and you know it’s a big deal when the biggest celebrities in Hollywood are calling in all their favors to score a ticket. The random celebrities who have attended the Eras Tour is honestly surprising, with A-listers like Kevin Costner sharing videos from the show and Flavor Flav pronouncing himself “King Swiftie.” Go ahead and add Dax Shepard to that list as well, because he just shared a video from his own experience, and I cannot get over how much he loves “Wildest Dreams.”

Dax Shepard was accompanied by at least one of the two daughters he shares with Kristen Bell when Taylor Swift took her Eras Tour to Lisbon, Portugal, last week, and I can only imagine how tickled the youngster was when her dad broke into a passionate performance of one of Swift’s 1989 hits. Check out the Instagram video for yourself: 

His reaction to the song is something that his daughter isn’t likely to forget anytime soon, and the same likely goes for the fans around him. “Wildest Dreams” is a fun song to belt at the top of your lungs, so I can really appreciate Dax Shepard giving it his all. It seems the Armchair Expert podcaster found a personal connection to the song, too, as the caption on his video reads: 

His daughter is probably right to remain wary that “Wildest Dreams” was inspired by Dax Shepard, despite the lyrics he identifies with. It was also no coincidence that Taylor Swift played the song at the show that he attended. “Wildest Dreams” was not one of the Eras Tour surprise songs, but rather a permanent fixture of her 1989 set. 

That is, of course, something a true Swiftie knows, and Dax Shepard certainly counts himself among that group. You can even see in the Instagram video that he participated in the friendship bracelet exchange that Taylor Swift concerts are known for. He’s also discussed his respect for Swift on his podcast (including his love for the 1989 song) after watching her Miss Americana documentary (available to stream with a Netflix subscription).

The Portugal show wasn’t Dax Shepard’s first Eras Tour experience, either, as he and Kristen Bell were seen in the VIP section at one of her Los Angeles shows in 2023. Did the Forgetting Sarah Marshall star get the same “Wildest Dreams” performance as their daughter? I don’t know about that, but what I do know is that Shepard was exhibiting some top-notch girl dad behavior by showing such enthusiasm on an outing with his daughter.

Being a celebrity is a tricky thing. Because while it's a dream that offers exciting opportunities, it can also make one's personal life into a public matter. While not at the level of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard know this all too well, and are often refreshingly honest about what's happening with them. And recently Bell shares a parenting rule she and Shepard have related to fights. 

The pair of actors have often shared their lives warts and all. Case in point: Shepard revealing his relapse a while back. They're also honest about the difficulties of parenthood, which is endlessly relatable. When speaking with People, the Veronica Mars icon peeled back the curtain and revealed a parenting rule they live by. As she put it:

Honestly, I'm sold. Bell previously shared her secret to a happy marriage was vulnerability, and it seems that also extends to the way she and Shepard are parenting their two children. Looks like they want to model a way to resolve conflict and compromise, rather than keeping that a private aspect of the couple's relationship.

People argue, and there's nothing wrong with that. Kristen Bell doesn't seem to be placing blame on herself of Dax Shepard for that. But it's how they resolve their issues and model good behavior that is of the utmost importance. 

This is just the latest example of the celebrity couple being honest with the public about what it's actually like in their family unit. Previously, Shepard admitted they struggled during the pandemic with being trapped at home together, while Bell has been open about their use of couples therapy.

While Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard often share anecdotes about their lives as parents, they've also put up boundaries about how much they're exposed to the public. Specifically, they don't show their children's faces when posting on social media, offering them privacy in a world where both parents are public figures.

However, what made this show even more special was its constant stream of guest stars played by living legends. Everyone from Bill Murray to Michelle Obama to Ben Schwartz appeared on the NBC classic, and today, we’re here to talk about them. 

Paul Rudd

Now, I know we love Paul Rudd for his movies, but we also need to appreciate his brilliant work as Bobby Newport on Parks and Rec. During Season 4, the actor joined the cast to play the man running against Leslie Knope for a city council position. Overall, Bobby is childish, not smart and spoiled, and Rudd plays this silly idiot brilliantly. 

Bill Murray

Obviously, Bill Murray’s funniest roles include iconic characters like Phil Connors in Groundhog Day and Dr. Peter Venkman in Ghostbusters. However, his guest spot on Parks and Rec was unexpected and incredibly memorable. I write this because, for one episode in Season 7, the Saturday Night Live legend played Walter Gunderson, the dead mayor of Pawnee. 

Kathryn Hahn

Playing the cutthroat campaign manager Jen Barkley, Kathryn Hahn made a glorious (and a smidge evil) impact on Parks and Rec. She played a cutthroat manager who worked for Bobby Newport at first, and across ten episodes she popped in from time to time to both help and harm Leslie’s political career. 

Ben Schwartz 

Arguably, Jean-Ralphio Saperstein is one of the best recurring guest stars in Parks and Rec history. The rich boy who is friends with Tom is ridiculous, scammy and he’s constantly trying to flirt with everyone and sing whenever he can. While he’s 100% the worst, he’s also totally not “the WORRRRRRSSSSSTTTT,” if you know what I mean.  

Jenny Slate

In a stroke of perfect casting, Jenny Slate popped into Parks and Rec to play Jean-Ralphio’s sister Mona Lisa Saperstein. The siblings truly are the most chaotic duo, however, they’re also the two of the funniest extra side characters the sitcom has to offer. Just don’t fall for it when they ask for “money please!”

Henry Winkler

After getting to know Jean-Ralphio and Mona Lisa, we meet their father, Lu Saperstein in Season 6. Played brilliantly by Henry Winkler, the patriarch of the Saperstein family is a successful doctor who is willing to go to any financial length to help his kids. 

Sam Elliott

In the later seasons of the show, we met the Eagleton Parks Department. Ironically, each member of that crew matched up with a member of the Parks and Rec cast, and when it came to picking someone to play Nick Offerman’s Ron Swanson’s counterpart, they cast Sam Elliott as Ron Dunn. While they both have legendary mustaches and an appreciation for the outdoors, that’s where the similarities stop, and seeing Ron and Anti-Ron go head-to-head was hilarious. 

Joe Biden

Leslie loves her politicians and had a massive crush on then-Vice President Joe Biden. As an engagement gift, Ben decided to give her the perfect present and prove that he’s the ideal man, by coordinating a meet and greet between Leslie and Joe Biden.

Patton Oswalt

When Leslie tries to change Pawnee’s charter to get rid of some silly laws – like throwing a Ted into a lake – Garth Blundin makes his disapproval clear. Patton Oswalt plays the historian, and he challenges Amy Poehler’s character to a filibuster and a day of living like a colonial person. Ultimately, he and Leslie find common ground, and he joins forces with her to help preserve the laws…he also volunteers to get thrown in the lake.

Michelle Obama

As Leslie tries to figure out if she should take a job at the National Parks Department and leave Pawnee, Michelle Obama comes in to tell her about why she should take it. Let’s just say if I met the First Lady, I think I’d be just as star-struck as Leslie Knope. How could you not stumble over your words if you casually bumped into the First Lady of the United States?

Bo Burnham

Some of the funniest stand-up on Netflix comes from Bo Burnham, and in his special Make Happy, he sings a “Country Song” that pokes fun at the cliches in the genre and how some artists are masters at pandering to their audiences. On Parks and Rec, he worked with that idea as well by playing country singer Chipp McCapp who Leslie and Andy tried to hire for a performance at the Unity Concert. His songs like “Beautiful Like My Mom (Support the Troops)” were truly hilarious, and they complimented the stand-up comedian's sense of humor very well. 

John McCain

Parks and Rec knows how to do a political cameo, and one of the best ones came when Leslie didn’t even realize she’d just met John McCain in a coat closet. She was so distraught over interacting with #4 and #26 on Leslie’s list of amazing women, that she didn’t even notice she was speaking with the senator. 

Megan Mullally

You know chaos mode has been activated when Ron’s second ex-wife Tammy II enters the chat. She’s constantly trying to simultaneously take Ron down and get back together with her, and his efforts to avoid it are truly hilarious. However, what really makes this dynamic duo so hysterical and one of the best recurring inside jokes on Parks and Rec is the fact that Tammy II is played by Nick Offerman’s real-life wife Megan Mullally. 

Will Forte

Amy Poehler and Will Forte were both in some of SNL’s best casts, and it was such a treat to see them reunite on Parks and Rec. In his episode, Forte played Kelly, a man who really wants to get the Twilight books put in Pawnee’s town time capsule. When Leslie refuses and then agrees, it starts an outcry over what can and can’t go in the capsule via a chaotic town meeting. 

Jon Hamm

According to Leslie, Jon Hamm’s Ed is the “most incompetent person I’ve ever worked with.” He worked for our leading lady when she was at the National Parks Department, and he was swiftly fired by her not long after we met him. 

John Cena

In an epic episode of Andy’s show, the Johnny Karate Super Awesome Musical Explosion Show, Burt Macklin, FBI, arrested John Cena – who was wearing so much of his own WWE merch – and took him to the dunk tank. Talk about a dream come true for Andy and viewers.

Keegan-Michael Key

There’s no question that all our hearts grew a few sizes when Donna married Keegan-Michael Key’s Joe. The comedian played the “Treat yo’ self’ queen’s boyfriend-turned-husband in Seasons 6 and 7, and it’s safe to say that we all adored this music teacher. 

Bradley Whitford

Considering Parks and Rec is a show about government and Rob Lowe is one of its stars, it made perfect sense for a West Wing cast member to pop into the sitcom. It was done perfectly too, because the team brought in Josh himself, as Bradley Whitford played Councilman Pillner, the man Leslie replaces on City Council and a model boat enthusiast. 

J.K. Simmons

Remember Ice Town? Well, Ben’s hometown of Partridge and J.K. Simmons’ Mayor Stice sure do. And that became clear as day when an episode of Parks went back to Adam Scott’s character’s hometown so he could get a key to the city, which ended up just being melted water in a box…because Ice Town. 

Patricia Clarkson

While Megan Mullally’s Tammy II is truly unhinged and chaotic, Tammy I is cold, calculated, and manipulative. She’s played by Patricia Clarkson, and she really adds to the hilarious chaos that is Ron Swanson’s love life. 

Andy Samberg

Back when Andy Samberg was still on Saturday Night Live and before he led his own sitcom, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, he guest starred on Parks and Rec as the incredibly loud Park Ranger Carl. During Season 2, Leslie worked with Carl on a few issues of Parks security, and let's just say that she “might not be so confident, when [she has to] walk a mile in [Carl’s]  size sevens.” 

Rachel Dratch

In the final season of Parks and Recreation, Amy Poehler’s Saturday Night Live co-star Rachel Dratch appeared as Roz Pinwheel, the nanny of Leslie and Ben’s triplets. While a small role, it was such a nice (and funny) nod to the two comedians' time together on the legendary sketch comedy show.

If you were looking to get humiliated on the radio look no further than "The Douche." This hilarious and terrible radio host was played by the mastermind behind one of the best animated shows, Big Mouth, Nick Kroll, and anytime he showed up to host a radio spot on the series, you knew something wild was about to go down.

Chelsea Peretti

While Leslie ran for City Council, April filled in for her one time, and during one of her seminars Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s Chelsea Peretti showed up as one of the attendees, Zelda. Fun fact: before Peretti was part of the Brooklyn Nine-Nine cast, she actually wrote two episodes of Parks and Rec, which helps explain her lil cameo in the series. 

Kristen Bell

Kristen Bell was quite literally the perfect person to play Leslie Knope’s Eagleton councilwoman counterpart, Ingrid de Forest. It turns out, Bell was born to thrive on a comedy like this, because after Parks and Rec, she went on to lead the cast of The Good Place, which was Michael Schur’s next show after Parks.  

Dax Shepard

When Tom decides to become Andy’s manager as he works on Johnny Karate, they have a run-in with Hank Muntak, a TV executive in Pawnee who is played by Dax Shepard. Before this guest spot, the actor had spent a lot of time on NBC as one of the stars of Parenthood, these days you can find him hosting his podcast Armchair Expert. 

Will Arnett

Before Leslie meets and falls in love with Ben, she goes on some wildly terrible dates, including one with MRI technician Chris. At the time, Amy Poehler and Will Arnett were actually married (they’re divorced now), making this blind date even funnier because they were a real-life couple too. 

Sean Hayes

Bobby Wood was Indianapolis’ best talk show host, and he was played by Sean Hayes. As television appearances tend to go for Leslie and co. her interview with him didn’t exactly go well, and both comedic actors were so funny in the moment. 

Fred Armisen

You can always count on Fred Armisen to play the wildest goofy guys, and he did exactly that on Parks and Recreation. In the episode “Sister City,” the SNL vet appeared as Raul Alejandro Bastilla Pedro de Veloso de Maldonado, the Venezuelan officer who came to represent his city on a trip to Pawnee. 

Tatiana Maslany

Tom Haverford’s love life was always a funny point of interest on Parks and Rec, especially because it was only brought up occasionally. For instance, in Season 6, he had a short-lived relationship with Tatiana Maslany’s Nadia Stasky, a doctor who eventually left Pawnee and moved to Rwanda.  

Parker Posey

Indie darling Parker Posey came on to Parks and Rec to play Lindsay Carlisle Shay. The character was Leslie’s counterpart from Eagleton, meaning she was the Deputy Parks Director in Pawnee’s fancy rival town. The twist here was that Lindsay was actually Leslie’s friend and went behind her back a long time ago to take the job in Eagleton. 

Jason Schwartzman

Jason Schwartzman’s role in Parks and Rec presented an interesting issue for Pawnee when he decided to turn his video rental store into an adult store. Watching Leslie flounder as she figured out how to help the character played by the Asteroid City star was so funny, and the character of Dennis was perfect for Schwartzman.  

Honestly, the guest stars from Parks and Rec are next level. From comedy geniuses to beloved dramatic actors, so many notable names took a quick trip to Pawnee, Indiana and I love that for them, this wonderful show and us. 

Oscar winner Bradley Cooper apparently played a crucial role in encouraging actor and podcast extraordinaire Dax Shepard to publicly disclose his relapse after achieving 16 years of sobriety. During a recent podcast appearance, the 49-year-old actor opened up about how The Guardians of the Galaxy voice performer, also 49, was instrumental in his decision to share his struggles with sobriety in 2020. 

In a heartfelt revelation on the Dinner’s on Me with Jesse Tyler Ferguson podcast, Dax delved into the complexities of his sobriety journey, including a pivotal moment when the Star is Born actor stepped in to guide him through a challenging period. The Without a Paddle actor’s story, punctuated by honesty and vulnerability, highlights the intense pressure public figures often face, particularly when confronting personal issues like addiction.

The conversation took a deeper dive when Ferguson, the Modern Family alum and podcast host, asked about Dax’s thought process behind making his relapse public. Shepard admitted that his initial inclination leaned significantly towards keeping his relapse a secret rather than him and his wife Kristen Bell sharing how they handled the situation as a couple publicly. However, the Maestro director and star’s perspective shifted Dax’s handling of the situation. As he tells it:

Dax initially struggled with the decision to share his relapse but ultimately decided he wanted to remain committed to honesty with his audience. He credits a conversation with his fellow Hit and Run cast member as the turning point that convinced him to share his relapse publicly, despite the difficulty of doing so. During their conversation, Cooper directly asked Shepard about his intentions, which led him to be more candid with his audience. Thev Parenthood vet continued:

Shepard shared his struggle with sobriety on his Armchair Expert podcast following the advice from Bradley Cooper. In the episode recorded on September 21, poignantly titled “Day 7,”  the Zathura alum opened up about his setback and discussed his journey towards sobriety. He shared that his lapse was linked to the use of painkillers after suffering injuries in a motorcycle accident, marking a poignant chapter in his ongoing journey towards sobriety.

Cooper, who achieved sobriety at the age of 29, has similarly been transparent about his battles with addiction. In an appearance on the Smartless podcast (hosted by Will Arnett, Jason Bateman, and Sean Hayes), Bradley Cooper said Arnett helped him get sober. This surely had to set a precedent for openness and honesty that helped him inspire Shepard years later. This mutual understanding and shared experience of overcoming personal challenges strengthened the bond between the two, showcasing the power of support and solidarity in the face of adversity.

It’s not exactly news that the airline industry has been sort of a mess since the pandemic shutdown, but things haven’t gotten a whole lot better since air travel has attempted to get “back to normal.” While flight delays and cancellations have always been a potential issue, it really seems like they’re happening a lot more often. And when that happens it can end up getting expensive for travelers. Like for Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard, who recently spent $600 after a flight was delayed, though they spent it on sheets and pillows.

Dax Shepard posted a video to Instagram which explains their situation. The family was set to fly out of Boston, when a flight that was delayed seven hours, it was then delayed to the next day. Unfortunately, Shepard and Bell could not find a hotel room, everything was apparently booked. The solution? Spend $600 on blankets and pillows, and spend the night on the floor at the airport. The video opens with Dax Shapard making sure we get a good look at his wife's rear, which to be fair is not the first time he's shown off Bell's butt to all of us. As Shepard points out in the video, the money they spent on sheets could have easily been spent on a pretty nice hotel room. The problem was that they just couldn’t get one. There’s a decent chance that if their flight was so significantly delayed, others going in and out of Boston were as well, so there were likely many travelers who needed a place to stay overnight. 

Honestly, it looks like the nicest bed you’ll find at the airport. They’ve taken over an area and been able to stretch out, and they seem to be taking the experience in stride. One hopes that all the money spent on sheets, blankets, and pillows at least made their night spent on an airport floor slightly more tolerable. There were almost certainly others who tried to spend the night sitting in chairs, which is not the way you want to try and get any real sleep. 

This is really a nightmare. As somebody who recently had to deal with his own seven-hour flight delay, which would have resulted in a 48-hour delay in getting to my destination had I not been willing and able to fly into an entirely different airport, I feel this pain. I at least had the benefit of still being at home when it all went down, so I wasn’t stuck at the airport all night. I did end up needing to book a last-minute hotel room, and at least I was able to do so. 

Maybe it makes the mess that is modern air travel easier to deal with knowing that literally everybody has to deal with it, even celebrities. Some celebrities get roasted when they complain about air travel.  Shepard and Bell have been married for ten years, so they've certainly had their share of frustrating experiences just like the rest of us. Hopefully, these issues will be overcome eventually, and then flying can just become the normal headache that it once was and not the utter disaster that it has been recently.

Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard have been married for over 10 years, and have always been open about their relationship and raising their kids together. They have been honest about their experiences in couples therapy, struggles during COVID isolation, and Dax Shepard's recovery from substance addiction. They’ve also shared fun stories, like vacations with their two children and hilarious awkward moments. They are one of the most relatable couples in Hollywood, but now they are sparking debate after Kristen Bell revealed she's occasionally let her kid drink non-alcoholic beer.

In a recent interview on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Bell and the titular talk show host opened up about some awkward moments with their kids in public. Clarkson said that her daughter accidentally drake wine when she was little, and The Good Place got candid about her kids ordering non-alcoholic beer at a restaurant. She of course provided context, saying:

This makes a lot of sense in context. While on the surface it may be an odd choice to make for a kid, the background shows that there's a special story at the core. Bell may be okay with non-alcoholic beer at home, she did say she thinks that maybe her kids shouldn’t be ordering it in public. The Forgetting Sarah Marshall actress continued:

I’m sure her kids' drink of choice has spurred some plenty of awkward exchanges with waitstaff in public. In true Kristen Bell-fashion, her honesty is always delightful and quirky. She has talked about this before, saying it got really awkward when one of her kids decided to drink one of the virgin beers on a school call. I’m sure the teachers were very confused without the context, but it did result in a hilarious story. 

The non-alcoholic beer is certainly a good trade off for real beer, as Shepard has been open about being a recovering alcoholic for many years. The couple has been candid about Shepard relapsing a few years back and how he and Bell have worked through it as a couple. Bell has also been open about navigating this with their kids, and conversations they've had about addiction. Every recovery journey is different, and the couple’s openness about their own relationship with substances helps normalize something a lot of families go through. 

Just as every recovery is different, every parenting journey is different. As Bell says, some may judge her for the non-alcoholic beer, but she isn’t doing anything wrong. As long as her kids keep it non-alcoholic, it's a nice memory to share with their dad, and something they’ll probably remember forever.

Like many A-listers, Kristen Bell decided to take a summer break from the Hollywood scene. She and her family got away from the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles, and took a trip to Idaho. However, Bell wasn't alone as multiple Hollywood stars flocked to the Pacific Northwest. The Frozen star had dinner with Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, and many other famous folks, which she documented in a photo, and I'm baffled

The Queenpins actress has been relaxing in Idaho with her family, including husband Dax Shepard and their two daughters, courtesy of late-night host Jimmy Kimmel’s South Fork Lodge, according to Deadline. 

Other A-list celebrities joined Kristen Bell and Shepard in the Gem State for a lovely outdoor dinner. Of course, the Good Place star had to document the star-studded moment by posting an image to her Instagram account. Besides Friends alums Aniston and Cox, there were other famous faces like Jason Bateman, Adam Scott, and John Mulaney sprinkled throughout the packed dinner table. There were so many Hollywood stars at the long dinner table you would need a magnifying glass to identify them all. It says a lot about Jimmy Kimmel and his Hollywood relationships that he could get all those celebrities in one place. This impressive dinner party didn’t just boast drama actors, sitcom stars, and comedians though. Other big names included actresses Olivia Munn and Shiri Appleby, fellow late-night host Jimmy Fallon, director Adam McKay, CNN’s Jake Tapper, Snow Patrol member Johnny McDaid, and YouTuber Mark Rober. Talk about range.  

While people like Kim Kardashian were partying it up at the Fourth of July White Party last weekend, Jimmy Kimmel’s Idaho lodge seemed to rival it with such an impressive guest list. I was overwhelmed by the amount of star power around the table. You can spend minutes, if not, hours, trying to find all the celebrities vacationing and dining against the beautiful dusky Idaho skyline. Honestly, a magnifying glass is needed if you want to spot every A-lister.

Compared to most star-studded moments, seeing these Hollywood A-listers sitting at the long dining table seemed more casual and relaxed. This was evident by the Frozen II star’s candid photos from the week-long vacation. Oftentimes, celebrity gatherings can feel manicured and calculated to get a “these-people-might-be-real-friends” vibe. Fortunately, this dinner party was the opposite of that. Everyone was just themselves as they wore casual winter-esque clothing after finishing a nice meal. It was nice to see multiple stars sharing a few candid moments with their followers.

Kristen Bell took a much-deserved break as she gears up for her cinematic return as an undisclosed character in PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie, which premieres on September 29 on the 2023 movie schedule. She’s also reportedly set to voice Anna once more in the upcoming Disney sequel Frozen 3. During its heyday in the 2000s, Punk’d built a reputation by pranking Hollywood A-listers like Kim Kardashian using unfathomable scenarios. Most of the outrageous pranks paid off, with the stars at the center of them left mad, sad or utterly shocked. But not all the ventures were successful, as its been rumored that certain episodes were scrapped due to the target figuring things out. One person who didn’t fall for anything was Gabrielle Union, who was a target of the show on different occasions. And just recently, she and series alum Dax Shepard hilariously recalled the multiple failed attempts.

The major misses came to light when Gabrielle Union was a guest on Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast. As mentioned on the show, he host had interviewed the actress' husband -- former NBA star Dwayne Wade -- in 2022, so they're definitely familiar with each other. However, the former Parenthood cast member pointed out they'd met more than two decades earlier. Union couldn’t recall when or where she'd met him, leading Shepard to mention her unaired Punk’d episodes:

Upon the podcast host recalling his Punk’d days, the actress immediately recalled being on the popular hidden camera show. She even specifically remembered how many times she was on it, saying that the crew "tried twice" to get her. Dax Shepard further clarified that he was only part of one of the attempts, and it's very specific:

Clearly, he just wanted to make sure his guest (and listeners) knew that he personally only failed once. From here, the Inspection star detailed the first failed trick the MTV show tried to play on her:

This first fake scenario actually triggered Gabrielle Union, as she called parking garages “the bane of her existence.” She brought up her anxiety associated with them and remembered where her car is parked. Dax Shepard corrected her by saying that those ventures happened before the prank reality series’ first season premiered. Shepard then shed light on the second time the team tried to get Union:

Anyone would be thrown off when seeing a huge satellite dish (associated with space exploration) in your yard. Union recalled pulling up to her home with the dish in her driveway, and it apparently didn't take her long to sense what was really going on:

So the Cheaper by the Dozen star already came into the outrageous situation with a healthy amount of skepticism. It's also interesting to hear that Jamie Foxx was involved, and it seems that little detail had even slipped Shepard's mind:

After Union caught on and walked away from Shepard, he mentioned series creator Ashton Kutcher trying to persuade him to push the prank even more. But the podcast host recalled having to give Kutcher a reality check after Union’s skepticism kicked in:

So I'd say that the chief takeaway from both of these situations is that you simply can't pull one over on Gabrielle Union. The star -- who recently voiced a character in Disney's Strange World -- is just too astute. So if Ashton Kutcher's proposed Punk'd reboot does ever get off the ground, don't expect her to be one of the prankees.

The actress will return as a guest star on a different sequel series -- The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder -- later this year though, and you'll be able to stream her episode using a Disney+ subscription. If one is a celebrity that one likely understands that appearing in ridiculous tabloid headlines is just part of the job. While there might occasionally be those headlines that are frustrating to deal with, it’s probably best just to laugh at them. That’s what Dax Shepard has done with a headline that takes aim at his relationship with wife Kristen Bell, and includes newlyweds Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez for good measure, calling them, along with Nicole Kidman’s other half, singer Keith Urban “Hollywood’s Most Henpecked Husbands.”

A recent cover of Star apparently designates the three as “henpecked,” because their famous wives allegedly set rules that the husbands must follow. Dax Shepard posted the image to Instagram and approached it as if it was a movie poster, and honestly, Hollywood’s Most Henpecked Husbands, while it has a clunky title that should probably be workshopped, has an absolutely remarkable cast and a pretty solid setup for a good date night comedy. Dax Shepard’s elevator pitch has me sold.

I mean, to be fair, in a movie like this Ben Affleck probably would be your lead, he's currently the biggest star of the three, the future of Affleck's Batman notwithstanding, but Dax Shepard and Keith Urban as supporting players make for a solid trio. And then you have the cast of Jennifer Lopez, Nicole Kidman, and Kristen Bell and who wouldn’t want to go see a movie, or be in a movie, with those three in it together?

There are some great responses in the comments here, including some from friends of Dax Shepard who joke that they now understand why the actor doesn’t hang out with them anymore. Many celebrity men pipe up looking for cameos in this fictional film and some famous women are wondering why their own husbands were not cast. There are just laughs all around at this ridiculousness.

If there’s anything these three husbands actually have in common it’s that arguably, even in the case of Ben Affleck, we’re talking about celebrity couples where the wife is more famous than the husband. This probably makes them easy fodder for the tabloids since that’s a common trope that all men are supposed to have problems with. From all accounts these three couples are doing just fine, so I doubt these men are that insecure.

It’s probably pretty wild to be married to an Oscar winner or the voice of an actual Disney Princess. One cannot argue that these three women are absolutely incredible at what they do and have earned the status they have achieved. They’re clearly smart women, and that likely extends to their choice of husbands. There’s no arguing Kristen Bell’s husband has a solid sense of humor. 

Marriage is certainly an act of romance and commitment, one that's often filled with joys and tribulations, as a couple tries to maintain a healthy relationship. That's been the case for A-list couple Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard. On paper, Bell and Shepard seem like total opposites who you wouldn't think would be together, but they make it work. Now, as the two prepare to enter their tenth year of marriage, the Frozen star revealed the secret to their rock-solid union.

The subject came up while Kristen Bell was promoting her recently released comedy, The People We Hate at the Wedding. The Bad Moms star offered ET a few words on the matter, but what she shared will likely resonate with those who are currently married or even looking to get hitched:

Apparently, vulnerability has been a major component of the Bell-Shepard union. The Hollywood couple has been open about what they’ve gone through since meeting in 2007. For instance, Shepard admitted he thought Bell’s positive demeanor was fake before realizing that she was just being herself. The stars also faced a huge hurdle in their marriage when the Zathura alum relapsed in 2020 after 16 years of sobriety. Both were honest about the relapse news being hard to share and the conversations they had following the downturn. They even spoke about not getting along in isolation during the pandemic before seeking couples therapy to work out their issues.

Dax Shepard has been open about the insults launched at him regarding his actress wife paying for everything. Of course, that’s far from true, as he revealed on his Armchair Expert podcast that he had more money than her when they first got married. Between his successful podcast and film and TV work, the actor is a slouch by no means. But there’s no competitiveness between the couple, as they are never afraid to shout each other out online. In one instance, the Punk’d alum posted a photo of his movie star wife doing naked yoga while she shared a funny video in which she swooned over her husband doing yard work.

When it comes to the big anniversary, Kristen Bell stated that she and her hubby don't have any plans for the milestone, which is less than a year away. That doesn’t mean she’s against doing something special, though. The TV and film actress revealed that's she's down for a private vow renewal with just their two young daughters in attendance. That would certainly be a nice way to mark commemorate the marriage of one of Hollywood's most enduring couples.

Most of the Full House cast has remained mum yet supportive of co-star Lori Loughlin after she made headlines for allegedly falsifying information to get her daughter admitted to the University of Southern California. The allegations led to her missing out on Fuller House’s final season, and Hallmark ending its relationship with her. Following a short time in jail, Loughlin hasn’t spoken much about the admissions scandal and neither has her Full House family until now. Her TV husband John Stamos casually dropped an f-bomb while talking about her journey following the much-publicized scandal.

The Uncle Jesse actor spoke up for his former castmate while being interviewed on Armchair Expert. Stamos complimented host Dax Shepard for the nice words he said about Loughlin on the podcast. The TV uncle was skittish to talk about his TV wife given how polarizing she’s become following the headline-making scandal, he explained: 

Being close to Loughlin was a sore spot for Stamos as he’s known her for over three decades. They played everyone’s favorite odd couple for seven seasons on Full House (available through an HBO Max subscription) and its spinoff, Fuller House, for four seasons (available through a Netflix subscription). Their closeness still shines through today as evidenced by their viral TikTok video.

Having worked with Loughlin previously, Shepard called her “a sweet person” before mentioning he disagreed with her alleged actions. This prompted Stamos to speak about the things she’s reportedly done following her imprisonment. He even made an ironic joke about her going to jail rather than him or his male co-stars.

The Big Shots star even tried to clear her name by revealing what she allegedly told him following her jail sentence. He did get permission from the Great American Family star before saying:

While Stamos isn’t her official spokesperson, he managed to get Lori Loughlin’s reported side out to the fans. She hasn’t done too many post-scandal interviews outside of her testimonial video for her volunteer work earlier this year. The former Full House star has been making her way back to Hollywood with her first GAF movie Fall Into Winter, which saw her reunite with her TV niece Candace Cameron Bure in the network’s Christmas lineup.

As for what the two actors are up to now, John Stamos is currently on the series The Big Shots, which can be watched with a Disney+ subscription, and Loughlin is currently filming Fall Into Winter. 

Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard really are couples' goals. Despite the struggles the two of them have been through during their marriage, they still manage to make each other happy. One way Kristen Bell has swooned was watching her husband doing yard work, which she caught on video.

There’s nothing like seeing a man work hard around the house to impress his wife. That’s what Parenthood’s Dax Shepard did for his wife, Kristen Bell, as she made an Instagram video of him hosing off various areas of their yard with Color Me Badd’s "I Wanna Sex You Up" in the background. She captioned that Shepard spent the entire weekend “trying to get in my pants.”

Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard have been together ever since 2007. They had a three-year engagement that started in 2010, but didn’t want to get married until gay marriage was legalized. To celebrate the overturn of the Defense of Marriage Act, the Veronica Mars star proposed to Shepard on Twitter, and they got married in a private courthouse ceremony. Dax Shepard is clearly the ultimate family man with plenty of funny memories he has shared between himself and his two daughters. For example, there was the time that their children walked in on the two of them having sex! Well, that’s one way for their children to learn about the birds and the bees. There was also another funny parenting snafu when the Zathura actor told one of his daughters not to make a fool out of him after trying to have her give up a toy she brought to bed with her. She responded by cheekily saying, “Daddy, I won't make a fool out of you. I'm gonna make you a star.” His Frozen wife probably should have butted in asking her daughter if she would prefer to build a snowman instead! 

Kristen Bell and her hubby have been in four projects together including being on the run in Hit and Run. They have also teamed up to host a game show together called Family Game Fight where the happy couple is “adopted” into separate families of four to compete in a series of games for a cash prize. Bell and Shepard couple also joined a new streaming show by the creators of Robot Chicken called Ultra City Smiths, and you can watch its first season on AMC+. The star-studded stop-motion series is about two detectives trying to solve the case of the disappearance of the city’s most famous magnate. 

Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard continue to make it over the long haul with the love they have for each other and their family. If Shepard tries hard to get into his wife’s pants cleaning the yard, maybe he'd be willing to see her in Frozen 3, assuming that features ends up officially moving forward and is added to the lineup of upcoming Disney movies.

Channing Tatum is in the business of driving women wild — not just with his own disarmingly good looks and amazing dance moves, which are on full display in Magic Mike and Magic Mike XXL, but also through the shows he’s not a part of, including Magic Mike Live and HBO Max’s reality series Finding Magic Mike. But that might lead to some awkward moments when the women going crazy for that lovely stripper action are the wives of your friends. That’s the situation Tatum found himself in recently, when he apologized to Dax Shepard after Kristen Bell had quite the experience at a show in London.

Kristen Bell has been married to actor Dax Shepard since 2013, and it’s a good thing this adorable couple is so secure with each other, because the Forgetting Sarah Marshall star gave rave reviews to the Magic Mike franchise after catching one of the live shows. In talking on The Ellen Degeneres Show, Bell even said the experience was on par with a couple of other big milestone moments:

Okay, so allow me to pause for a second and book a flight to London … It sounds like that was a great experience, especially since Kristen Bell said she wasn’t sure at first that Magic Mike Live would really be her vibe. It was certainly a strong enough opinion that Ellen Degeneres felt she had to bring it up when she spoke to Channing Tatum on her show a few weeks later. 

The Lost City actor told the talk show host he’d heard about the actress’ glowing praise and hilariously apologized to her husband for eliciting such a reaction:

I’m sure Dax Shepard has absolutely no hard feelings toward Channing Tatum, and the two actors apparently know each other pretty well. It’s still funny to think about Tatum having to answer to his friends about how their wives react to the stripper shows. There’s more to come, too. Magic Mike 3 is currently in production on its way to an HBO Max release. 

Though the Step Up actor had previously said he didn’t want to do a third movie, he recently revealed that his two conditions when agreeing to another sequel were to make “the Super Bowl of stripper movies” and to have a really strong female central character.

However, actor and podcast host Dax Shepard just dropped a doozy for the books, as he opened up about his former relationship with former Full House star and current bazillionaire Ashley Olsen. Even better, his admiration for his ex gave way to a pretty awesome remark about the personalities of both Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.

During the most recent episode of his podcast Armchair Expert, Shepard spilled the beans on his relationship with the Full House star-turned-fashion magnate. Revealing how he had actually never watched the sitcom that starred both Olsen Twins in the role of Michelle Tanner, Dax Shepart claims it was Ashley’s business acumen that really knocked him for a loop. After the topic of the Olsens' fashion line The Row came up, here’s what the host had to say when revealing this surprising fact:

It’s admittedly weird to think about Dax Shepard with anyone except his current wife and partner-in-crime/parenting Kristen Bell. That said, according to Shepard’s own admission, his romance with Ashley Olsen took place around 2007, after he was “thunderstruck by her beauty” at a party. And as they bonded over cars and he grew impressed by her fashion empire, history was made, even if it changed to the Bell side of things in late 2007.

Meanwhile, Dax Shepards’ relationship with Ashley actually allowed him to get a better appreciation for the personalities of both twins. Reflecting on how Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen struck him, sarcasm was part of the impressive combination that Shepard experienced first hand. 

Perhaps the reason hearing this story about Dax Shepard and Ashley Olsen dating is so surprising is because of the intense secrecy that both Olsen Twins have adopted in recent years. Save for their public comment after Bob Saget’s passing, we don’t hear much from either Mary-Kate or Ashley in the news. Contrasted with the Olsens’ more low-key lifestyle these days, Shepard’s affirmation of just how awesome they both are makes for good news all around.

The timing is pretty good too, as even Megan Fox had an awe-inspiring moment with the Olsens in recent months that she shared. Recalling that anecdote, that makes Ms. Fox also somewhat qualified to speak on the subject of Mary-Kate and Ashley’s awesomeness. Between that and the angle of her own wild relationship stories, perhaps it’s time that she landed a guest spot of her own on Dax Shepard’s podcast. Provided, of course, that the slate of upcoming Megan Fox movies allows such an event.

The When in Rome actor was recently a guest on Ellen Pompeo’s podcast Tell Me, where she and Dax Shepard spoke about power dynamics in both Hollywood and personal relationships. The topic of women earning as much money as their husbands (or more than) came up — a relevant subject for the longtime Grey’s Anatomy star and the husband of Kristen Bell. Shepard admitted to struggling early in their relationship with not always being “the earner,” and even though he’s changed his perspective, he told Pompeo it still hits a nerve when social media users target him about that particular issue. As he put it:

No matter how secure you are in your marriage and career, it’s never easy when people launch personal attacks against you. This is particularly true if they pick at the scab of what used to be a sensitive topic. Dax Shepard said having kids changed his whole way of thinking about money, and pointed out that everything he and Kristen Bell earn now is to provide for their education, their future, etc. So it truly doesn’t matter who’s contributing what. 

That healthy perspective and their love for their children are part of what makes this power couple so likable. Well, that and the naked yoga. 

The Family Game Fight hosts got married in 2013 and are parents to two daughters — Lincoln and Delta. And while Kristen Bell may star in the Bad Moms movies, she seems quite the opposite, and I’d have to imagine her line of work is actually pretty popular with the kiddos, as she is the voice of Ana in Frozen, as well as the sequel and its multiple shorts. Breastfeeding is a whole other beast as well, and Dax Shepard alluded to a pretty memorable experience he had while helping wife Kristen Bell work through a complication.

Drew Barrymore interviewed the Family Game Fight hosts on The Drew Barrymore Show, and in an attempt to get “extra spicy” with the candid couple, Barrymore asked about the time Dax Shepard helped Kristen Bell relieve a mastitis, which is a painful infection that happens in breastfeeding when one of the milk ducts gets clogged. 

Kristen Bell maintained a good poker face at the mention of the certainly unpleasant memory, responding to the inquiry of if her husband’s unclogging procedure was “the hottest,” by saying it was, because of the level of commitment it required. Dax Shepard expanded on the response, but gave graciously few details of what such assistance entailed.

The assumption might be that because handling of the breasts was involved that Dax Shepard would enjoy such a task. The actor shot that down pretty thoroughly, without going into explicit detail of what Kristen Bell simply said was “messy.” Boobs are wonderful things when they’re not swollen and clogged and infected, but remember survival mode, where they become first and foremost a provider of sustenance to the new life you’ve created, and honestly, things can get really painful.

Other than wanting to spare Drew Barrymore’s viewers the gory, TMI details of mastitis, Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard seemed almost apprehensive to put more personal information into the public domain after the celebrity bathing debate erupted earlier this year.

Up to bat lately has been the celebrity debate on how often famous people bathe themselves and their children - and it’s got people’s skin crawling in some instances. The Good Place’s Kristen Bell has now weighed in on the cleanliness debate, as both her own person and as a mother, and shared her feelings on the matter.

If you are of the belief that the celebrity bathing debate is getting a little out of hand, or was even ridiculous to start with, it sounds like you have found an ally in Kristen Bell. In an interview with ET, the actress makes light of the debate, saying people are taking it way too seriously and it’s really not something to spend as much time or thought on as people currently are. Here’s what the Gossip Girl revival star says, exactly:

Honestly, that’s probably a good way to put it. Is there really any reason to put a person on trial for how often they choose to bathe themselves or their children, considering no one who has been a target of the debate are running around with neglected appearances or kids? After all, everyone is different and has different cleaning needs, because we all live life at different levels of activity and we all have different grime factors affecting our cleanliness.

Prior to this, Kristen Bell did appear on The View with her husband Dax Shepard and explained their own parenting choices when it comes to cleaning their children. The couple has been incredibly open in the past about their personal struggles and challenges they face in their marriage, so it’s no surprise that they openly answered questions about even something as mundane as bathing. While some parents may put the couple on a trial of their own for the statements, Bell previously said that “waiting on the stink” definitely works for them. Ergo, she has weighed in on the celebrity bathing debate on a more personal level, noting,

Bell is obviously free of any outstanding funk smell, because it appears she’s pleasant enough to be around that she's working on multiple projects in Hollywood right now. Outside of his portrayal of a younger yet just as smart and opinionated Sheldon Cooper on the hit CBS comedy series, Armitage has appeared on the hit HBO series Big Little Lies as Ziggy Chapman. The young actor, who has already built up quite a filmography at this point in his career, also provided the voice of a young Shaggy Rogers in the 2020 animated comedy Scoob!.

Marsai Martin - Liberty

Liberty, the savvy Dachshund from Adventure City who becomes the newest member of the elite K-9 task force in Paw Patrol: The Movie, is voiced by Marsai Martin. Prior to the new animated adventure, Martin voiced characters in movies like Spirit Untamed and television programs such as Goldie and Bear, The Mr. Peabody and Sherman Show, Elena of Avalor, and DreamWorks Dragons: Rescue Riders. Not a big children’s animation fan? Well, you will then most likely recognized Martin from her decorated performance on black-ish or the 2019 comedy Little, which earned her multiple accolades, including two NAACP Image Awards.

Ron Pardo - Mayor Humdinger

Bringing to life the villainous Mayor Humdinger (as well as Paw Patrol ally Cap’n Turbot) is voice actor Ron Pardo. A fixture of the franchise for years prior to the release of Paw Patrol: The Movie, Pardo has voiced multiple characters on the popular children’s show going back to its beginnings in 2013. Working mostly in animation voice-over work, Pardo has lent his talents to shows like PJ Masks, The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That!, and multiple others over the years. You may also recognize Pardo from the 2007 remake of Hairspray which saw him take on the role of the Good Morning Baltimore TV show host.

Yara Shahidi - Kendra Wilson

Taking on the role of Kendra Wilson, the female scientist who comes up with all the great tech and gear used by the fearless pups in Paw Patrol: The Movie is Yara Shahidi. Over the years, Shahidi has appeared in movies ranging from satirical comedies like Butter to action thrillers like Alex Cross and multiple animated features in between. The actress, model, and activist, however, is probably mostly known for her turn as Zoey Johnson on black-ish, a role which has earned the young star a great deal of praise throughout its run including an NAACP Image Award in 2015. Shaidi also plays Johnson in the black-ish spinoff series grown-ish.

Kim Kardashian - Delores

Delores, the poodle working in an animal shelter in Paw Patrol: The Movie, is voiced by socialite and reality TV star Kim Kardashian, arguably one of the most recognizable voices and names attached to the animated feature film. If you have been on the internet, watched television, read magazines while waiting in the grocery store checkout lane, or have simply been alive the past 15 years, chances are you know Kardashian for one reason or another. Outside of Keeping up with the Kardashians (which finally came to an end in June 2021) and its various spinoff series, Kardashian has appeared on countless other reality programs as well as a few movies, including Disaster Movie and Deep in the Valley.

Tyler Perry - Gus

If you saw Gus in Paw Patrol: The Movie and thought to yourself, “Wow, that sounds a lot like Madea,” you would be right. The truck driver saved by Chase and the gang in the new animated feature is voiced by none other than Tyler Perry, one of the most powerful names in Hollywood as well as one of the most generous names in show business. Over the years, Perry has written, directed, produced, and starred in countless productions including his iconic Madea character, including Diary of a Mad Black Woman, A Madea Family Funeral, and many, many others. Perry has also shown up in movies like Vice, Gone Girl, and Alex Cross over the years and doesn’t look to be slowing down anytime soon.

Dax Shepard - Ruben

Actor, writer, director, and host of the Armchair Expert podcast Dax Shepard shows up in Paw Patrol: The Movie (or at least his voice does) as Ruben, one of two bodyguards working for Mayor Humdinger who attempt to keep the pups out of downtown Adventure City. Ever since breaking out as the resident prankster on the MTV show Punk’d in 2003, Shepard has remained one of the busiest and most popular names on television, showing up in shows like Parenthood and Bless This Mess to name just a couple. Shepard’s film work has been just as strong over the years, with appearances in movies like Zathura: A Space Adventure, CHiPs, and Idiocracy.

Randall Park - Butch

Voicing Butch, the second of Mayor Humdinger’s bodyguards, is Randall Park, who has been on quite a run the past few years with movies like Always Be My Maybe, Long Shot, and a little something called the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After making his debut in the MCU as Jimmy Woo in Ant-Man and the Wasp in 2018, Park went on to become one of the major players in the WandaVision supporting cast. Outside of that, Park has shown up on everything from The Office to Veep and Fresh Off the Boat to The Mindy Project over the years, as well as others you may have forgotten.

Jimmy Kimmel - Marty Muckraker

Late night talk show host and media personality Jimmy Kimmel shows up in Paw Patrol: The Movie as Marty Muckraker, the news anchor of the Adventure City News Network. Kimmel’s rise to fame got started in 1997 when he became the co-host of the Comedy Central quiz show Win Ben Stein’s Money. After that, Kimmel became the co-host of The Man Show alongside Adam Corolla from 1999 to 2003, at which point he became the host of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, which has been on the air ever since. Over the years, Kimmel has played versions of himself in movies like Hellboy II: The Golden Army, Sandy Wexler, and Dads, as well as major roles in The Boss Baby and The Boss Baby: Family Business.

Will Brisbin - Ryder

Taking on the role of Ryder, the human boy who keeps the Paw Patrol together, is relative newcomer Will Brisbin. Prior to joining the Paw Patrol: The Movie cast, Brisbin appeared in a handful of movie and television projects, including Abducted, Breathing Through a Straw, and Forbidden Playground. He will next appear in the TV movie Life Undercover.

Keegan Hedley - Rubble

Voicing Rubble, the appropriately named construction pup in Paw Patrol: The Movie is Keegan Hedley, who has been portraying the character on the Paw Patrol TV show since 2017. Outside of Adventure City, Hedley has voiced the titular character on Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, appeared on Odd Squad, and several other programs over the years. Hedley will also soon appear on SyFy’s Chucky series.

Lilly Bartlam - Skye

Skye, the Cockapoo aviator pup in Paw Patrol: The Movie, is voiced by Lilly Bartlam, who has played the character since joining the show’s cast in 2019. Bartlam also provides voice-work on Total DramaRama and previously appeared on Dot.

Kingsley Marshall - Marshall

Marshall, the firefighting Dalmatian pup in Paw Patrol: The Movie, is voiced by Kingsley Marshall, who has portrayed the character since joining the show’s case in 2019.

Callum Shoniker - Rocky

Taking on the role of Rocky, the recycling-obsessed dog in Paw Patrol: The Movie, is Callum Shoniker. Over the years, Shoniker has provided voice-work for shows like Go, Dog, Go, Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, and even the Paw Patrol TV show, thought he played a different character than the one in the movie. He also portrayed James Ginsburg in the 2018 biographical drama On the Basis of Sex.

Shayle Simons - Zuma

And then there is Shayle Simons, who portrays the aquatic rescue dog named Zuma in Paw Patrol: The Movie. In addition to appearing on the TV show that inspired the movie, Simons has also acted on shows like Llama Llama, Corn and Peg, and Let’s Go Luna over the years.

While the pandemic could likely result in a brand new baby boom to go down in the history books, some relationships are sure to spiral downward from being stuck together in isolation for so long. It looks like things between Hollywood golden couple Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell are persevering after over a year of isolation together. After openly admitting they needed couples counseling due to being locked in their home together for so long, Shepard posted a lovely tribute to his wife on her birthday.

Kristen Bell had her 41st (although she doesn’t look too much older than she did in her Veronica Mars days) birthday a couple days ago, and her husband Dax Shepard chimed in with a super sweet Happy Birthday post on his Instagram, featuring Bell in full cowgirl, down-on-the-ranch chic. We’re used to seeing Kristen Bell all dolled up and in some kind of super cute outfit (or sometimes none at all), but she can really pull anything off. It would appear that Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard’s Family Game Fight is going to be in a prime position when it makes its NBC debut. According to Deadline, the network has decided to set the show’s premiere date for Wednesday, August, 11, at 9 p.m. -- which is directly after the Olympics Closing Ceremony. While it’s hard to say exactly how the show will perform at this point, it’s fair to assume that this will give the show a leg up, as it looks to build an audience. This move comes after the network decided to remove another new competition show from the spot.

Ultimate Slip ‘N Slide was originally set to follow the close of this year’s Summer Olympic Games. However, that show experienced a setback, as it was recently reported that the production experienced an outbreak of giardia. This resulted in numerous crew members experiencing “explosive diarrhea” According to reports, some crew members allegedly blame the production for the situation, claiming that the studio didn’t do its due diligence in ensuring that fresh and clean water was used for the series.

Ultimate Slip ‘N Slide is set to be hosted by SNL alum Bobby Moynihan and Harley Quinn and Match Game alum Ron Funches. As of right now, NBC has not scheduled a new premiere date for the show.

Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard’s Family Game Fight is inspired by some of the segments the couple would perform while appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. On the game show, both spouses will be adopted into a family of four and compete in a series of games in the pursuit of prizes.

This actually isn’t the only project the two stars are collaborating on at the moment. Both Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell are set to lend their voices to AMC+’s stop-motion comedy Ultra City Smiths. The show focuses on the disappearance of a town’s most well-known magnate and the efforts of two detectives who brave the corruption in their town in order to solve the case.

The concept of Family Game Fight is fun enough and should be a nice showcase of the humorous chemistry between Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell. It’ll be fun to see which one gets the most bragging rights as the show progresses in its run.

While marriage is often romanticized, the fact of the matter is that it takes hard work to keep such a relationship healthy. Looking at the entertainment industry, there are countless examples of couples who eventually divorce, whether it’s after just a few months or many years after they first tied the knot. Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard, however, are still matrimonially tied together, although Bell recently acknowledged that she and Shepard have had to go through couples therapy.

Why is this? Well, apparently the pandemic that’s affected all our lives for more than a year now put a strain on Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard’s marriage. As Bell told Chelsea Handler, who was guest hosting Ellen:

With Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard both being well-known actors, it was to be expected that their busy schedules would factor into their romantic relationship. However, as it did with so many people, the pandemic provided unexpected challenges in their lives, and it reached a point where Bell and Shepard decided to seek outside help. Fortunately, Bell loves their therapist Harry “so much,” and among the pieces of advice she’s gotten from him is to “do something nice today and don’t get caught.” Bell also noted that she learned that when you’re living with another human being, the reality is that eventually you’ll find that person annoying, so you need to “brush up on your toolbox” since relationships take work.

As for how the couples counseling process between Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard has been going, Bell said they’ve been meeting with Harry separately rather than shared sessions. The actress continued:

Kristen Bell then said that when you have a “third party moderating any disagreement,” it’s “always a safer place,” as two people arguing among themselves just “messes up the solution.” Clearly couples therapy has been working out wonderfully for Bell and Dax Shepard, so fingers crossed it continues to help with their marriage.

As for Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard’s respective professional endeavors, Bell has the movie Queenpins coming out on September 10, and will also reprise her Gossip Girl narrating duties for HBO Max’s upcoming reboot, which premieres on July 8. It's no secret that among the many, many people who deal with addiction in one form or another, are some of our favorite celebrities. We can often see their very public ups and downs as they try to gain control of substance abuse issues, but sometimes those troubles are hidden from public view for quite a while. Actor Dax Shepard has been open about his struggles with drug and alcohol abuse for several years, and he recently recalled the Late Night with Conan O'Brien appearance which saw him temporarily banned from the show.

Dax Shepard, who became known for his time on Punk'd and as a cast member on the hit NBC family drama Parenthood, recently spoke with NBA star Blake Griffin on his The Pursuit of Healthiness podcast, and revealed a big "rock bottom" moment which helped lead him to take sobriety seriously. In 2004, Shepard appeared on Late Night with Conan O'Brien to promote his film Without a Paddle, but ended up on stage inebriated. As Shepard recalled, the talk show appearance was "the only career wreckage-y thing I did," adding:

Unfortunately, Dax Shepard is not exaggerating when he says that this particular Late Night interview was "a mess." Within a few seconds of arriving on stage with what appears to be a lot of perfectly wacky energy, he tries to sit opposite O'Brien and promptly falls backward over the chair right in front of the host, which is when he likely broke that table he mentioned.

While it's not completely obvious that Shepard is inebriated, his brief time on stage is filled with random conversation detours and rambling. As he said during his podcast chat, much of what he comes up with manages to make the audience laugh, but O'Brien was tasked with doing a lot of work to keep things on track.

It was just last year that Dax Shepard made the difficult decision to reveal on his own podcast, Armchair Expert, that he'd relapsed after 16 years of sobriety, recording that episode while sober for just seven days. Luckily, with help from his strong support system, like wife Kristen Bell who stood by him through his struggles during quarantine, it sounds like he's been back on track for a while and is working hard to stay that way.

While Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard have been sharing the difficulties and nuances of their marriage, many fans have been itching for them to share the screen again. The two have rarely acted together on screen since getting married back in 2013. Now, Bell and Shepard have joined a new streaming TV show together, but that doesn't mean that they'll be sharing the screen with each other.

AMC Networks announced on May 20 that the Hollywood couple will join the AMC+ stop-motion animated series Ultra City Smiths. Kristen Bell will play Donella Pecker while Dax Shepard will voice Congressman Chris Pecker. The streaming animated series will the first time Bell and Shepard have shared a project in quite some time. But Bell and Shepard weren’t the only new additions as Alia Shawkat, Tim Meadows, Terry O’ Quinn, Debra Winger, Julian Barratt, Tom Waits and Luis Guzmán round out the cast of newcomers.

Ultra City Smiths is the brainchild of Patriot creator Steve Conrad and animation powerhouse Stoopid Buddy Stoodios. The series follows the Robot Chicken blueprint by using stop-motion with baby dolls as adult characters. The stop-motion animated series focuses on the mysterious disappearance of the city’s most famous magnate as two detectives try solving the case against citywide corruption and danger to their family lives.

The additions of Kristen Bell, Dax Shepard and other cast members topped off an already stellar voice cast. Other members of the all-star cast include Jimmi Simpson, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, John C. Reilly, Bebe Neuwirth, Jason Mantzoukas, Damon Herriman, Melissa Villaseñor, Kurtwood Smith and Tim Heidecker along with Patriot alums Chris Conrad and Hana Mae Lee.

Given the caliber of Ultra City Smiths’ voice cast, showrunner Steve Conrad couldn’t hold back his excitement. The writer-director said about the murder mystery’s cast:

The stop-motion animated series is being executive produced by Stoopid Buddy Stoodios’ Seth Green, John Harvatine IV, Matthew Senreich, Eric Towner and Chris Waters. Jennifer Scher. Jeff Dieter and Thomas J. Glynn will serve as producers on the upcoming streaming series.

The upcoming AMC series isn’t the only project that Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard are working on. Earlier this year, it was announced that Bell and Shepard would team up to host a game show called Family Game Fight. That series originated from a segment the couple participated in on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. The talk show host will serve as a producer of the series. It is unknown when the game show will premiere or find a network home.

Having Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard acting together again adds an extra layer to this animated murder mystery. Both series are among the many projects Bell has in the pipeline. According to AMC, Ultra City Smiths’ first two episodes will premiere on July 22 on AMC’s streaming platform AMC+ with the remaining episodes dropping every Thursday. After premiering on the streamer, all six episodes will air on AMC in the fall.

Dax Shepard (Crosby Braverman)

Dax Shepard has stayed busy since his trouble-making days as Crosby Braverman, starring opposite Lake Bell in Bless This Mess and as Luke in The Ranch. Craig T. Nelson (Zeek Braverman)

Since serving as the Braverman patriarch, Craig T. Nelson has found some work on the big screen, reprising his role as the voice of Mr. Incredible on Incredibles 2. He played Matthew McConaughey’s father in 2006’s Gold and played Bruce in the naughty comedy Book Club. The former Coach star has recently returned to familiar territory, as he can be seen as Coach Dale Ballard on the Big Bang Theory spinoff Young Sheldon. Up next, Craig T. Nelson is teaming up with son Noah Nelson to star in the Cold War spy thriller The Operative.

Bonnie Bedelia (Camille Braverman)

Since her days as Camille Braverman, Bonnie Bedelia has dipped her toes in the heart-warming world of holiday movies, appearing in Christmas on the Coast and A Joyous Christmas. The Die Hard alum also landed a recurring role as Eva Booker, Kiefer Sutherland’s supportive mother-in-law on Season 2 of Designated Survivor.

Monica Potter (Kristina Braverman)

Monica Potter hasn’t done much acting since her days as Kristina Braverman, appearing as a series regular in the 2017 CBS drama Wisdom of the Crowd, playing Alex Hale. Potter was actually seen a lot more in the world of reality television. She and her family were on an episode of Celebrity Family Feud in 2015, followed by an HGTV series called Welcome Back Potter the following year. Her skin care business, Monica Potter Home, was featured on an episode of CNBC’s The Profit in 2017.

Sam Jaeger (Joel Graham)

Sam Jaeger is probably best known these days as Mark Tuello, on The Handmaid’s Tale. After recurring as a representative for the U.S. Government-in-Exile in Seasons 2 and 3, Jaeger is joining the cast as a regular in Season 4. Other notable roles since playing Julia Braverman’s husband include Detective Les Zoeller on Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders in 2017, the widower Tim Powell in CBS’ Tell Me a Story in 2018 and as Robert Stanton in Why Women Kill’s first season.

Joy Bryant (Jasmine Trussell)

Joy Bryant found a number of roles after playing Crosby Braverman’s love interest on Parenthood, including Dr. Erica Kincaid on Rosewood and Tabitha’s mother Lori Foster on the Netflix series Trinkets. She portrayed Eleanor Holmes Norton on Good Girls Revolt, which was inspired by a 1970s discrimination lawsuit. Bryant played public defender and football mom Jayda Crawford in Season 4 of Ballers and most recently was a series regular in For Life, as Marie Wallace, the estranged wife of Aaron Wallace. Off screen, Bryant and her husband David Pope own a clothing line, Basic Terrain, that they started in 2015.

Sarah Ramos (Haddie Braverman)

Sarah Ramos, the oldest of the Braverman grandchildren, had a number of small roles post-Haddie, most notably as series regular Creek Lovell on NBC’s Midnight, Texas. She was also recurring as Audrey on Showtime’s The Affair. In 2017 the former child actor played Meg in the move The Boy Downstairs, starring Zosia Mamet, who herself had a small role on Parenthood. And in 2020 Ramos released an exhibition book, Autograph Hound, that chronicles her childhood obsession of taking photos with celebrities. Up next, Ramos is set to play Cheryl Pistono, the girlfriend of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (coincidentally the inspiration for Jasmine’s son’s name on Parenthood), on HBO’s upcoming series about the 1980s Los Angeles Lakers.

Max Burkholder (Max Braverman)

Since his heart-wrenching portrayal of Max Braverman, who was diagnosed with Autism, Max Burkholder has found the majority of his work in voice acting. He currently voices Oliver Grayson on the Amazon Original animated series Invincible. Burkholder has also done work as numerous characters on episodes of Family Guy and American Dad!

Mae Whitman (Amber Holt)

After portraying Amber for six seasons on Parenthood, Mae Whitman kept the momentum going, starring in The DUFF — which earned her two Teen Choice Award nominations — and opposite Martin Starr in Operator. She has had numerous voice acting jobs, including Dragons: Race to the Edge, DC Super Hero Girls — in which she voiced Batgirl — American Dad!, Young Justice as Wonder Girl and The Owl House as Amity. She is currently the voice of Becky Bot on Apple TV+’s Doug Unplugs and co-stars with Retta and Christina Hendricks on NBC’s Good Girls. Mae Whitman also narrates audiobooks, including The Testaments, the sequel to The Handmaid’s Tale.

Miles Heizer (Drew Holt)

Before Miles Heizer was Alex Standall on 13 Reasons Why, he was Sarah’s son and Amber’s little brother on the full run of Parenthood. Since playing moody Drew, Heizer has portrayed Cal on the heart-warming LGBTQ teen romance Love, Simon and played Tommy in the movie Nerve, alongside Emma Roberts and Dave Franco. Heizer has also done some modeling, being featured in campaigns for GAP and Coach.

Savannah Paige Rae (Sydney Graham)

Savannah Paige Rae began acting at the age of 4, and after her six-season role as Joel and Julia’s daughter Sydney, she didn’t do much acting. Her lone post-Parenthood TV role, however, was a memorable one On Grey’s Anatomy Rae played Winnie, who was involved in a car accident prior to the on-screen death of Derek “McDreamy” Shepherd.

Xolo Maridueña (Victor Graham)

Xolo Maridueña was only 11 years old when he played Victor, the adopted son of Joel and Julia, on Parenthood. Since then, he has had a couple of guest spots on shows including the TV series Rush Hour and Twin Peaks, and then began some voice acting, recurring as Lucas on Netflix’s Fast & Furious Spy Racers and as Zaid on Peacock’s Cleopatra in Space. But Mariduena is likely best known for his latest role, Miguel Diaz, on Netflix’s Cobra Kai.

Tyree Brown (Jabbar Trussell)

Tyree Brown’s audition to play Crosby and Jasmine’s son Jabbar was the first TV audition of the 5-year-old’s career. He’s taken small roles since Parenthood ended, appearing in single episodes of Criminal Minds and Black-ish, as well as in the movie One Nation Under God.

Parenthood definitely left a void in the primetime family drama department when its last episode aired six years ago. And even though the series finale gave us an emotional montage of the Braverman family’s future, I’m wondering if it’s too soon to ask for a reboot that follows the next generation into young adulthood. Everything else gets a reboot, right? Braverman fantasies aside, it’s always a treat to see these actors when they pop up on our screens. We love to watch their love, but it's time for things to get a bit more complicated in their relationship, at least professionally, as the husband and wife are set to host a new game show called Family Game Fight, where they will also go head to head in competition!

Though they have appeared in a few shows together in a limited capacity, Family Game Fight will be the first time that Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard will be teaming up for a TV series from the outset. Unsurprisingly, the show won't feature the couple actually trying to destroy each other in a boxing ring – at least we think – but they will indeed be sharing duties as both hosts and competitors alongside each episode's contestants. And it appears things will get pretty frantic, and even a little messy. Okay, very messy in some cases.

In each installment, Bell and Shepard will split up and be "adopted" within a family of four that will be challenged by a series of over-the-top games, with a $100,000 cash prize on the line. (Naturally, the prize money would go only to the contestants and not the hosts themselves.) It's being touted as the "biggest, craziest, funniest, wildest family game show ever," which is pretty big praise to try and live up to. Especially for a show that sounds like Double Dare on a massive sugar rush.

The origin of Family Game Fight's concept goes back to a particularly tasty segment that Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard participated in on The Ellen Show a few years back. The couple showed up on the talk show again this morning, with Ellen DeGeneres making the big announcement that she and her producers teamed up with the actor couple to bring the new game show to life. Does that mean there will be singing and dancing involved, too? Probably.

According to Kristen Bell, game nights are also tied to the origin story behind her and Dax Shepard's relationship. Here's how she put it:

While it's not entirely clear what viewers can expect to see from Family Game Fight, it looks like it could very well feature a lot of the games that have appeared on The Ellen Show over the years. The show shared a quasi-preview clip that featured some of Bell and Shepard's appearances from past years, juxtaposed with the talk show's own signature games like Cut the Cord. However it goes, you can bet that Family Game Fight will probably feature saucy foods flung into people's faces, inflatable costumes, and jump scares. Ellen DeGeneres loves jump scares. For those dealing with addiction during COVID times, the pandemic is not merely a disruption to everyday life, but a huge threat to their recovery. Big Hollywood names were not immune to this danger, with The Ranch actor and podcast superstar Dax Shepard speaking out last year about relapsing after 16 years of sobriety. Even though Shepard has a strong support system and is used to being outspoken about his life, going public with his relapse news proved to be especially difficult after he'd been clean for so long.

Dax Shepard first opened up about his relapse and struggles with opioids on an episode of Armchair Expert, a weekly podcast he co-hosts. More recently, the actor appeared on The Ellen Degeneres Show for the host's birthday and he reflected on his difficulties with sharing news of his recent relapse, saying that since he speaks about recovery so often, he was concerned it would have a negative impact on the podcast, while also negatively affecting listeners who are in recovery. In Shepard’s own words:

Although he is far from the only celebrity to struggle with addiction and fall off the wagon, Dax Shepard has spent a lot of time and resources helping others who share his struggles. He uses his Armchair Expert platform in particular to help inform and support those who struggle with addiction and are attempting to get clean.

Dax Shepard likely had valid concerns that his relapse after being clean for 16 years would have an effect on the recovery processes of his most loyal fans and listeners, but there may be a bright alternative view. In the same appearance on Ellen, Shepard explains that a friend gave him a different way of thinking about how others view his relapse, saying that it may help to humanize the star. This is how he put it:

Being married to Kristen Bell and basically being the cutest couple ever does put Dax Shepard on a bit of a pedestal. It’s important to remember, though, stars have their dark periods just like everyone else, and their lives are not always as sunny as they appears on the TV cameras. So when Shepard and other stars put those darker days in view for all to see, it helps bridge that human gap between everyday people and the celebrities.

Three non-potent cheers to everyone celebrating their sobriety today, and if anyone needs shows to binge to keep their mind off of more negative habits, check out what’s streaming on Netflix this year.

Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard have been a nerdy, adorable Hollywood couple for years now. They’re also not totally private with their life; the two have been fairly honest and open about it with the public. One thing Dax Shepard has struggled with is an addiction to alcohol and drugs, so Kristen Bell recently gave an update on his relapse.

Known for the TV show Punk’d, and movies Hit & Run and CHiPs (two movies that also co-starred Kristen Bell), Dax Shepard has been battling addiction for a long time, and had been doing well in the fight, having been sober for 16 years. However, while appearing on Ellen, his wife Kristen Bell addressed how he’s doing after relapsing. Here’s what she had to say:

That’s good news. It sounds like Dax Shepard has taken a strong, healthy way to approach the problem by being open with Kristen Bell about it and needing to create a different plan of attack.

Kristen Bell, for her part, also seems to be taking a level-headed approach to the issue, knowing that everyone has stuff they have to take care of themselves. She said later:

Along with a new plan, Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell will be going back to therapy. Kirsten Bell also said she “would continue to stand by him because he’s very, very worth it.”

Though they have shown a deep commitment to their relationship over the years, doing sometimes almost anything for each other, earlier this year Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard admitted that being cooped up together during the global pandemic has been hard. They’ve apparently been “at each other’s throats” cause they found each other revolting.

Dax Shepard isn’t Kristen Bell’s only family member to hit headlines over a controversy. Back in September, she caught her daughters, Delta and Lincoln, drinking non-alcoholic beer while on a Zoom class. But that also didn’t seem to throw off the actress, saying she still believes she’s a good parent.

Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard got married back in 2013. They had long refused to marry until the gay community shared the same rights. When the Defense of Marriage Act was struck down, they ran to the courthouse to get a marriage license.

Earlier this year, actor and TV host Dax Shepard got into an off-road accident that messed his hand up pretty badly, though it was essentially his own fault that the accident happened. Memories of that incident were likely bouncing around his head after he was recently involved in a motorcycle accident, in which he broke multiple bones. But he apparently didn't realize the extent of his injuries in the immediate aftermath and just went about his normal life until the next day. Dax Shepard is obviously my new spirit animal.

Dax Shepard unveiled this otherwise harrowing tale during a recent installment of his stellar podcast Armchair Expert, in which Sean Penn was his eloquent guest, but he managed to make the story sound like an inconsequential mishap from the distant past, as opposed to a bone-breaking crash that happened less than 24 hours previous. Here's how the accident went down:

Dax Shepard, whose comedy Bless This Mess was cancelled by ABC earlier this year, somewhat sheepishly explained that the way he'd crashed, the tires and dark areas of his motorcycle were facing out towards oncoming vehicles. And because it was laying in the middle of a turn, his first instinct was to worry about other bikers who might not see the fallen motorcycle, so he just stood next to the vehicle and waved his arms to alert everyone else. Apparently that didn't sit too well with Sonoma Raceway's employees. Shepard continued:

For anyone unaware, Sonoma Raceway is around 375 miles away from Los Angeles. So not only did Dax Shepard stick through the pain for more than hour solely to ride around the track a few more times, he also followed that with a 5+ hour drive home. At that point, one might have thought he would have realized something was really wrong, but no, he just went to sleep.

The next morning, Shepard and wife Kristen Bell got up and attended their daughter Delta's preschool graduation. Astoundingly enough, it was only at this point when the actor realized that his injuries were a little more than he could take. Here's how he explained it:

The good news? Some of the metacarpal bones that had been broken in his previous accident made it through this one unscathed. So that's a plus for the medical field, which is probably the only silver lining in this whole ordeal. Well, I guess the fact that Dax Shepard's injuries were debilitating enough to render him a wailing mess in the middle of Sonoma is a silver lining in and of itself. The fact that all of this happened so soon before Shepard recorded the story for his podcast kind of blows my mind. I can only hope he got some decent painkillers from the hospital for his troubles.

The month of May has been living up to its reputation for television cancellations. Not too long after CBS made some difficult decisions about some of its shows, ABC cancelled four of its series, and among the carnage was Dax Shepard's Bless This Mess. In light of the sad news, Shepard and the series’ creator had the best responses.

On Twitter, Dax Shepard responded to a user saddened by Bless This Mess’ cancellation news. The actor, who is famous for his great sense of humor, quoted the tweet and had a very amusing response to it all. It turns out, Shepard liked the picture used in one of the stories that covered the cancellation. Check it out:

At least Dax Shepard is trying to find the silver lining. Bless This Mess had aired for two seasons before ABC decided to cancel it and two other scripted comedies. The Goldbergs’ switched-up spinoff, Schooled, and fellow sophomore comedy, Single Parents, also got cancelled. In Bless This Mess, Dax Shepard starred opposite of Lake Bell, who co-created the series.

The duo played a husband and wife who leave New York behind for rural life on a farm in Nebraska. For two seasons, fans of Bless This Mess got to see how that decision played out. Sadly, they will not continue to do so, and Bless This Mess’ co-creator spoke out on the bitter news by using a pop-culture touchstone to express her feelings. On Instagram, Elizabeth Meriwether posted:

Yes, Elizabeth Meriwether co-created Bless This Mess and Single Parents, so the double cancellation resulted in an apropos callback to Game of Thrones’ notorious Red Wedding. Meriwether’s use of such a visceral moment in TV history gives fans a strong sense of how the co-creator is feeling.

Thankfully, Bless This Mess’ co-creator and Dax Shepard both managed to maintain their senses of humor through a terrible ordeal. Losing a show to cancellation is never easy. When you add the timing of it happening in a television world that is unsure of its own future in general, it has to be especially painful. (When will production start again, and what measures will it entail?)

Fans will have to stay tuned to learn what Dax Shepard will get up to next. He is no stranger to comedies. With his run on Netflix’s The Ranch now over, and the end of Bless This Mess leading to an opening in his slot, the sky is the limit. At this point, anything can happen.

That said, I am curious if those open skies will somehow lead to Dax Shepard realizing his dream of playing Tiger King’s Joe Exotic. Yes, Nicolas Cage will play him in one TV project, but who is to say there will not be more? Before Bless This Mess’ cancellation, Shepard had expressed interest in playing Exotic. Now, he has some room in his schedule.

I think it can be said with little argument that Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard are one of the most adorable couples in Hollywood. They look great together, they're always funny, it seems like they might actually have a perfect life. And yet, it appears that the close proximity brought about by self-isolation due to the coronavirus pandemic is getting to even them. The pair recently spoke with Katie Couric, and admitted that they are totally getting on each others nerves right now. Somehow, this just makes them more perfect.

Maybe there are some families that are really enjoying spending every waking moment together, but after two weeks, it's much more likely that we're all starting to get on the last nerve of the people that we loved a few days ago. In an online interview with Katie Couric ahead of Kristen Bell's Nickelodeon special where she will host experts as they attempt to explain the coronavirus situation to kids, she and Dax Shepard admit that they aren't getting along quite as well as maybe they used to. We could all use a break now and then, and usually, that's not too difficult. For many people, CBS' The Price Is Right has long been as much of a morning TV staple as the news, soap operas and cartoons. From Bob Barker's run to the Drew Carey era, the financially minded game show has captured the attention spans of every kind of viewer out there. For all the success that The Price Is Right has experienced here in the U.S., however, the show doesn't have nearly the same global syndication reach as other shows such as Wheel of Fortune. But why?

Host Drew Carey answered that Price Is Right question you didn't even know you were curious about during a recent appearance on the always fascinating podcast Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard, which is clearly hosted by Bless This Mess star Dax Shepard. No, it's not because big wheels roll better here. According to Carey, the American version of the show has simply gotten too fancy with its prizes. In his words:

There you have it, people. We as Americans are simply too opulent with our game show prizes, to the point where countries around the world have had to balk at crafting localized version of The Price Is Right. Not the most humble or humanitarian reason, to be sure, but I suppose there's still some pride to be had in this country's dedication to giving cars away on TV.

As longtime fans are well aware, The Price Is Right has always been loyal to some of its brands, and it's been a common enough occurrence for a pallet of Rice-a-Roni boxes to serve as a prize. (Getting a year's supply of any product on a game show has always fascinated me.) But as the years have gone by, many of the simpler prizes and collections have been usurped by much pricier options.

Plus, The Price Is Right has introduced primetime specials into its regular lineup, and you know going primetime means the prizes need to be that much more impressive and extravagant. Which, in turn, makes it that much harder for another country to fund their own take on The Price Is Right. Currently, the reported list of countries with their own versions of the game show includes Argentina, Bulgaria, Vietnam, Portugal, and Lebanon. (I wonder if it's easier to pay for trips to European and Asian countries when your show is actually based there.)

Drew Carey had a lot of fun stories to tell and insights to dish out during his Armchair Expert appearance. He talked about the Price Is Right contestant whose bids all included "420" in them, because weed jokes. As well, he revealed the problem with trying to play Let's Make a Deal in Las Vegas. It turns out literally everyone takes the guaranteed $40 without caring about what's behind any numbered doors, since guaranteed money means gambling.

As one of Hollywood's most affectionate couples, Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard seem to be practically inseparable. They are as tightly knit and warmly intimate as celebrity couples come, and that's hopefully not going to change anytime soon. Despite a false cheating rumor every now-and-again, the duo of actors have seemingly never wavered in their commitment to one another. But believe it or not, there was apparently once a time when Shepard wasn't quite as certain about whether or not he was willing to give his life to Bell. At least, that's what Shepard claims during a recent video interview.

The surprise revelation was made during Dax Shepard's recent conversation on Off Camera with Sam Jones. In the clip, Shepard admits upfront that the answer will be "surprising" and "off-putting," but the actor/director claims he has a weird mix of low self-esteem and "unbridled arrogance" when it comes to relationships. He claims that he's "always" been that way, and the Armchair Expert podcast host never knew why. So during the early days of his relationship with Kristen Bell, Shepard claims he wasn't necessarily trying to keep the love affair alive, and he wasn't "fearful" about losing Bell.

But, of course, something changed. As Dax Shepard retells it, he grew to be less cynical about Kristen Bell's warm-hearted optimism when he found that her good deeds and fond feelings for the world around her were "undeniable." ] Shepard began to let his guard down more over time, and welcomed the generosity of Bell's life view into his own perception of the world. There was something "charmed" about Kristen Bell's life, and Shepard believes that comes from Bell's endlessly loving personality. Over time, Dax Shepard said he can't deny the outcome, and it became a drastic change in the actor's life. He wanted that, and Shepard chose to move towards her.

With that, Dax Shepard claims that Kristen Bell was the first person he didn't try to "make" into the person he wanted to date. Dax knew what happens when he tried to do that. Through that, some "magic osmosis" happened; each of them could now become more open, honest, and accepting people.

Often times, romances don't bloom overnight like in the movies. They take time, patience, work and acceptance. Sure enough, even though Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard appear to be one of the most loving and accepting couples in Hollywood, even their own relationship took some time to form.

After all, recent rumors might be bringing about devastating news for the couple's fans: that Shepard reportedly cheated on Bell. But Shepard denied these accusations on Instagram.

The cheating claims were made by The Daily Mail. During a scandalous article, they made the accusation that Dax Shepard was reportedly rekindling his romance with Kayti Edwards, a former model the actor/director once dated. The article claims they were hosting an affair in private, away from his marriage and family life with Bell. There are a series of accompanying photos which show Shepard and Edwards passionately smooching and the article believes these romantic photos are damning enough evidence to suggest Dax Shepard is cheating on his wife and partner of several years.

But, Dax Shepard wants to cut through the crap -- at least, in his view. He claims the alleged accusations made against him are completely and entirely b.s., and he claims the lack of evidence is what makes these cheating claims deflate. As he wrote on Instagram, the photos they used on their report were 13 years old, opposed to nine years old as they suggest. The CHIPS actor/writer/director also claims Kayti Edwards sold similarly suggestive and damning photos of Matthew Perry and Kid Rock. Shepard claims he's simply the latest in a chain of celebrities who've had pictures of themselves spun.

So, case closed? One would certainly hope so. Nobody wants to think that Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard are having difficulties in their marriage, and there will be many who would be heartbroken to know that Shepard cheated on The Good Place actress with another woman. But, Shepard is putting his foot down and insisting that this reported affair news is all hogwash and it should be ignored and disregarded as such. One hopes that's the case.

Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell have been married since 2013 and they share two children together: Lincoln Shepard (5) and Delta Bell Shepard (3). They have made it no secret that they have very warm, affectionate feelings for one another, and it would be more than a shame if it were to be revealed that Shepard is reportedly sleeping with another woman behind Bell's back. Fox made some big changes to its lineup for the 2018-2019 season with moves like the cancellation of Brooklyn Nine-Nine and the pick-up of Last Man Standing. Now, the network is adding more new shows to its programming slate, and they reveal that Fox is going hard on game shows for the upcoming season. Three new game shows will premiere in Fox's 2018-2019 season, and there are already some big names attached. Here's what you need to know.

First up is a show called Mental Samurai, which will be hosted and produced by Rob Lowe in his first regular role on Fox since the cancellation of The Grinder back in 2016. Mental Samurai is described as the "first-ever obstacle course for the mind." Contestants will be tested on their intelligence and mental agility, which makes it sound like an intelligence-based version of American Ninja Warrior. Each episode will see contestants pitted against the boundaries of their own minds in the fight to answer questions quickly, correctly, and precisely. The topics won't be limited to one subject, as questions will cover knowledge, memory, numbers, and sequencing.

If that sounds kind of uneventful to you, fear not. Contestants will face some physical challenges on top of the mental tests. They'll be transported around the set in a capsule that can rotate them 360 degrees. As if that's not enough, the capsule will also travel them at high speed. Mental Samurai is for competitors who can boast a combination of skill, focus, and stamina. It will air during the 2018-2019 season, although no premiere date has been announced.

Next up we have Spin the Wheel. Justin Timberlake is on board as executive producer, with Dax Shepard set to host. Spin the Wheel will offer contestants the chance to win a huge sum of money each episode: $20 million. Who needs Who Wants to Be a Millionaire when you have Spin the Wheel? Unfortunately, people playing the game won't get a whole lot of control over how they play the game. The wins and losses are determined by a 40-foot wheel that is far from predictable.

Episodes of Spin the Wheel will test players on pop culture trivia, strategy, and luck in pursuit of the $20 million prize. The 40-foot wheel contains sums of cash in its rotation, and correct answers to trivia questions will result in the addition of more money in the wheel's wedges. Contestants will have some choice in the location of the wedges, but their fate lies in the spinning of the wheel. Spin the Wheel will air at some point during the 2018-2019 season on Fox.

Finally, we have The Masked Singer. Nick Cannon will host in a big return to the TV competition circuit after his departure from America's Got Talent. Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger, and Robin Thicke are on board as studio panelists. The premise is that celebrities will face off against each other in musical battles, but their identities will be concealed from their opponent (as well as the in-studio audience and viewers) with elaborate costumes. As you probably guessed from the title of the show, full face masks will be involved.

The Masked Singer will air in January 2019, so it may amass an audience simply based on the fact that many other network shows will be on their winter hiatus. Since Fox already announced its fall TV lineup, we shouldn't expect any of these game shows to premiere right away when the next TV season kicks off. Netflix's Ashton Kutcher-led series The Ranch went through a bit of drama recently that ultimately ended in the show firing co-star Danny Masterson from the series. Now, the show has brought in another comedy actor to fill the void left by Masterson's character Rooster, with the always solid Dax Shepard for a recurring role on the streaming sitcom.

Dax Shepard will enter The Ranch as Luke Stevens, who has some ties to the Bennett family's Iron River Ranch. Luke is a military man who arrives in the town of Garrison and strikes an immediate bond with Colt and the rest of the Bennett family. One would imagine that bond is due to the character's connection to the titular ranch, though such a connection was not specifically addressed in the character's description. But we do know he won't be around for the entirety of the season.

Deadline reports Dax Shepard will stick around as Luke for the second half of Season 3 of The Ranch, and will reportedly be involved with five of the ten episodes. Given his fleeting and recurring status on the series, Shepard should not be considered a full-on replacement for Danny Masterson's character Rooster, but his bond with Colt will undoubtedly fill some of the void left by the character, if only temporarily.

Dax Shepard might not be The Ranch's end-all replacement for Danny Masterson, but he's certainly taken over as the on-set buddy for series lead Ashton Kutcher. The two have spent a good deal of time together in the past on the MTV series Punk'd, and they appear to still be having a good time on the set of Season 3 of The Ranch. Kutcher shared a photo of the two hanging out together along with the helpful hashtag "notpunkd," just so no one got confused:

Shepard, whose last recurring role on television was NBC's Parenthood, might only have time for a handful of The Ranch episodes due to his being cast in a Fox pilot set to film in June. Should the pilot Bless This Mess fall through, Shepard could once again be available for more episodes of The Ranch, provided the series continues on Netflix past Season 3. The series would probably have him back in that case, as Kutcher seems rather fond of keeping actors he used to work with around the set. But if all of that falls through, surely Shepard's wife Kristen Bell can wrangle up another cameo for her husband in The Good Place, no?

The Ranch Season 3 doesn't have a release date at this time, but Ashton Kutcher's set photos can at least lead us to speculate some of it is coming in 2018.
