The “God’s Country” singer and his wife Gwen Stefani — who met when they were coaches on The Voice — have made no secret about how much they love the “Oklahoma life,” and it turns out when Blake Shelton’s not recording music or traveling with his new music competition show The Road, he has no qualms about shutting the phone off to do some hunting, fishing or just spending quality time with Stefani and his three stepsons. He told Forbes:

I’d never heard the story, but it was casually mentioned in a way that felt like something the couple had spoken about before. So, I looked into this, and sure enough, Stefani had previously discussed the choice back in 2022.

However, doing it as a nod to all of the articles that have been written about your relationship is pretty funny. Even more diabolical? You can pop in and out at will, and I can’t wait to see what Shelton does next, even if it’s just more enjoyment of his tabloid-papered bathroom.

Ahead of The Voice Season 29’s premiere on the 2026 TV schedule, the cast gathered at a The Voice Karaoke Night in New York City. While there, Carson Daly had reminded fans that three former coaches have been crowned Sexiest Man Alive, including Shelton, who took the title in 2017. To this day, Daly joked with People he’s still unclear how that even happened:

To be fair, Shelton’s Sexiest Man Alive title definitely shocked a lot of people, not just Daly, but it came at a pretty fitting time in his life. The Voice was at its peak, and Shelton would go on to win his sixth season just a month after his new title was announced. Plus, he was doing well on the country charts. Even so, Daly still doesn’t understand why he was given the title, and he had my smiling with that sly Stefani crack.

I would love to know what Shelton’s response would be to this accusation, because he has trolling down to a science at this point. All joking aside, it is nice to know that everyone on The Voice gets along well enough to kid like this. t just shows how close everyone who has been on the show is. It's also nice to know that joking and trolling extends outside the competition series, such as when Kelly Clarkson even hilariously shaded Shelton during an impromptu vow renewal at one of her concerts.

As noted above, Daly is not the first person to troll Shelton, and he won’t be the last. When his new title was announced, Miley Cyrus also couldn't resist a Sexiest Man Alive dig in a video, saying no one knows sexy better than her, while Shelton was sitting next to her and drinking with his pinky out. We may be far off from 2017 at this point, but the title never dies, and neither do the jokes.

It’s unknown if Blake Shelton will ever return to The Voice, but if he does, I think we already know what the tone will be. At the very least, we can probably look forward to many more hilarious moments between the coaches and Daly, whether during The Voice or not.

That's because he’s already spoken out about the rumors and how silly he finds the whole situation. To that point, Shelton went on to say that shortly after seeing that initial report about him and Stefani being “back together again,” he saw yet another story that indicated that he and his wife were once again on the rocks:

He also said during his recent hosting gig that he could no longer “believe anything anymore that I see on the internet.”

Stefani and Shelton’s relationship, which began in 2015 and culminated in the two getting married in 2021, has been under scrutiny for months now. Despite that, there have been pieces of evidence to suggest a lack of validity to the claims. This past November, for example, Stefani shared a sweet Thanksgiving selfie with her hubby. She also seemed to squash the rumors in December when she showed up to the Oh. What. Fun. premiere sporting a diamond wedding band Shelton gave her. The pair also rang in the New Year with a kiss that was shown on Stefani’s Instagram story.

That collection of aforementioned points paired with Blake Shelton’s recent comments seem to pour cold water on the notion of him getting a divorce from Gwen Stefani. At this point, I honestly wouldn’t expect Shelton to address the matter publicly again or at least not anytime soon.

Fans of The Voice are in for a treat on the 2026 TV schedule with a revamped Season 29 coming to NBC in February that will feature new twists and Kelly Clarkson reuniting with Adam Levine for the first time in seven years. However, the singing competition also has a milestone coming up next fall, and apparently big plans are in the works. If the rumors are true, The Voice Season 30 could feature arguably the most impressive panel yet, but I’ve got one Blake Shelton-sized concern.

According to an alleged insider, The Sun reports that The Voice is trying to get Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, Gwen Stefani and Kelly Clarkson as their dream lineup to coach Season 30, and they’re reportedly willing to shell out millions of dollars to do it. The source reported:

The tabloid notes that nothing has been finalized yet, and there’s still plenty of time for things to change, with The Voice Season 30 not expected to go into production until late spring or early summer.

I agree that when looking at all of The Voice coaches, it’s hard to beat this lineup. A Blake Shelton reunion with Adam Levine seems like it should be top priority, and throwing Kelly Clarkson back into the competitive mix would be fantastic. Gwen Stefani makes sense as the fourth coach, as she and Shelton could return to the stage where they first met over a decade ago on Season 7.

Here’s why I’m wary to believe these rumors: Blake Shelton still has yet to show any interest in returning to The Voice. Of course he would be amongst NBC’s dream lineup; everybody wants to see the cowboy and the Maroon 5 rocker together again, but it seems like a long shot that it would actually happen. The insider even acknowledged this, saying:

Blake Shelton has said he shut down for about a year after leaving The Voice in 2023, and once he became motivated to help up-and-coming artists again, he landed on The Road (streaming with a Paramount+ subscription), where he traveled with musicians competing to open for Keith Urban.

It’s not just Blake Shelton, though, who could pose a problem for this dream Season 30 lineup. As the supposed insider noted:

Kelly Clarkson left The Voice when she and her Emmy-winning talk show relocated to New York, and she’s expressed the need to stay on the East Coast to give her children stability. It seems like that might be especially important following the death of Brandon Blackstock — their father and Clarkson’s ex-husband.

It was a surprise that the “Since U Been Gone” singer agreed to return for Season 29, and I don’t know if that makes it more or less likely that she’d return again for Season 30.

I’ve been a huge fan of The Voice since the beginning, and no one would be happier than me to see Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, Adam Levine and Kelly Clarkson come together for the competition’s milestone 30th season. But despite the rumors circulating, I will remain skeptical until we get something official from NBC or Shelton himself.

Gwen Stefani is also heading to Sin City in 2026, as she’ll join the rest of No Doubt for six shows in the Sphere. She’s also had a big 2025, releasing her own new album, Bouquet, in March.

It seems like they’ve tried to head off some of the split rumors in recent weeks. Gwen Stefani posted a Thanksgiving pic of the two to Instagram Stories proving they’re still couple goals. Early in December, Stefani also hit the red carpet sporting some meaningful jewelry — her diamond wedding band and engagement ring from Blake Shelton.

Hopefully, the source is correct, and there’s nothing serious behind all of the breakup speculation, and either way I wouldn’t mind seeing some posts this Christmas that show how they’re spending their favorite holiday. Stay tuned!

Shelton (49) and Stefani (56) haven’t publicly acknowledged the chatter that’s been consuming the rumor mill as of late, but it seems that’s not necessary now. Stefani seemed to put the kibosh on the gossip during a recent appearance, and it was her choice of jewelry that specifically did it.

This past Tuesday, the No Doubt member walked the red carpet at the New York premiere of Oh. What. Fun. (one of the latest titles to hit the 2025 movie schedule). It was at the event that Gwen Stefani sported a black corset overlaid with a green tulle, as captured in a video shared to YouTube. What was also particularly noticeable, though, was the fact that the songstress sported a lot of jewelry, including a pear-shaped diamond wedding band given to her by her hubby as well as an engagement ring complete with a few carats.

Gwen Stefani’s aforementioned bobbles shone brightly right alongside her other ring, which featured three pink-colored stones. I’d wager that anyone who was in proximity to the star would’ve needed to wear shades. Of course, I’m only joking about the shades but, on the whole, this is an interesting development, considering those breakup rumors. If there were truly friction between Stefani and her country music-singing beau, it would theoretically be more likely that she wouldn’t be wearing his ring.

Now, I’m wondering if Dorothy Gale’s shiny, silver (or ruby) slippers can actually hold a candle to Gwen Stefani’s sparkling rings. Although Stefani hasn’t talked about the state of her relationship with Blake Shelton as of late, it’s evident that her little trinkets are more than speaking for her.

Throngs off people are going to be off to see the Wizard before the end of the 2025 movie release schedule with the arrival of Wicked: For Good in theaters this fall, but another take on the world from the original L. Frank Baum story is in the works with an interesting duo behind the scenes. The Voice vets Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani, who got married in a stunning ceremony in 2021, are working on a contemporary retelling of The Wizard of Oz for Prime Video.

Called Dorothy, Deadline reports that the developing series will be a contemporary young adult version of Wizard of Oz, infused with music. The Yellow Brick Road will be incorporated as a metaphor rather than just a physical road, standing in for the choices and challenges that young adults are dealing with. Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton are on board as non-writing executive producers, but I have to wonder if they'll be involved in how music is incorporated into the series.

Via the outlet, Shelton said that he "knew right away it was something Gwen would connect with," adding that her "creativity and perspective are such a natural fit" for Dorothy. Stefani described the project as a "creative and modern take on a classic," and that "being part of something that blends music, emotion, and the character of Dorothy is inspiring."

Dorothy was created by Gina Matthews, who has produced projects like 30 Going on 30 and Holidazed over the years of her career. She shared the origin of the potential series, saying that she's "been in love with The Wizard of Oz books" since she was a kid, with qualities that "we need to get through hard times" and the central character "is a symbol of strength who shows us that with a little kindness — and a lot of grit — we can not only achieve great things but also lift up those around us."

At the time of writing, Dorothy is only in the development stage, so it'll be a while before the show is available with an Amazon Prime Video subscription, if at all. Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani have plenty of experience on a hit TV show. Both were longtime Coaches on The Voice, with Shelton holding the record for winning the most seasons with a singer. Shelton also has a new show coming to CBS' 2025-2026 fall TV schedule: The Road, on which he partners with Yellowstone's Taylor Sheridan and country star Keith Urban.

Admittedly, neither music legend has a long list of scripted hits to their names, but they also won't be writing for Dorothy if it's ordered to series. Personally, I'm wondering if the show fitting into the contemporary genre means that it won't have the fantastical elements of the original story and adaptations like the original 1939 film and, more recently, Wicked.

Prime Video has dabbled in both the fantastical and the more realistic for projects within the young adult genre over the years, ranging from the fantasy retelling of the life of Lady Jane Grey with the short-lived My Lady Jane to the more reality-based The Summer I Turned Pretty, currently releasing its third and final season in the 2025 TV schedule.

For now, we can only wait for news about whether or not Dorothy moves past the development stage and gets closer to a series order from Prime Video.

I think it’s safe to say that nobody could have predicted that Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani would fall in love and become one of the cutest celebrity couples back in 2014 when they met as coaches on The Voice. However, even more surprising than their love story may be how much Shelton relishes his role as stepfather to Stefani’s three sons. Throughout Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani’s relationship, the couple have taken every opportunity to rave about each other, so of course anniversaries are a big deal. After one year as a married couple, Stefani dropped a fun montage from their big day, and four years in, her husband shared to Instagram another gorgeous moment caught on camera:

That beautiful archway and scenic background is certainly not what I pictured when thinking about Blake Shelton’s ranch, but alas that is where his and Gwen Stefani’s 2021 wedding took place. Alongside the pic, the “God Gave Me You” singer called himself the "luckiest" guy to call Stefani his wife, writing:

It’s such a sweet, beautiful celebration of their love, so was there any doubt that Carson Daly would jump in to ruin the vibes? The Voice host was the only member of the NBC singing competition invited to the nuptials, and actually, Daly was the one who officiated the ceremony. That’s important to know when reading his comment on Blake Shelton’s anniversary pic, where he wrote:

Now I can’t be sure exactly why Carson Daly is invoking Johnny Cash by quoting lyrics from “Folsom Prison Blues,” but it feels par for the course of Daly’s rivalry with Blake Shelton that he would call the legal status of their marriage into question.

Not to be outdone, Gwen Stefani posted her own anniversary tribute, featuring several images of her and Blake Shelton playing over “Purple Irises,” one of the songs they wrote together.

It’s so cute to see these two continuing to show love for each other. The only bad thing is that neither one of them is on The Voice anymore, so we don't get to see them as often. Carson Daly will be there, though, hosting a Season 28 coaching panel that features Reba McEntire, Snoop Dogg, Niall Horan and defending champion Michael Bublé. The 2025 American Music Awards have come and gone, and many are still buzzing about the big night. However, not all of those reasons are positive. An aspect of the telecast, which aired this past Monday amid the 2025 TV schedule, that seemed to rub some viewers the wrong way was the presence of pre-taped performances. Two stars who did just that were Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani. Days after that, Shelton is now speaking out and responding to fans who took issue with him and his wife not actually being at the show.

How Were Blake Shelton And Gwen Stefani Involved In The AMAs This Year?

The AMAs featured a number of live performances this year from artists such as Benson Boone, Reneé Rapp and Gloria Estefan. When it came to Blake Shelton though, attendees were treated to a pre-recorded video, in which he performed his hit song, “Stay Country or Die Tryin'”. During the show, some people in the audience began to post about the experience on social media. One fan posted about being confused while watching the pre-taped segment. So far, the former Voice coach has received a bit of flak. The same kind of comments he’s received were also leveled at Gwen Stefani. Amid the AMAs, she performed “The Sweet Escape” and “Swallow My Tears” in a pre-taped video, leading another TikTok user to share the following post:

Needless to say, some fans at the American Music Awards were not pleased with how those particular performances were handled. Of course, the “I’ll Just Hold On” singer has never been one to shy away from sharing comments on a situation like this. So it shouldn’t be all that surprising that he shared a response via social media.

What Did Blake Shelton Say About The AMAs Brouhaha?

Blake Shelton took to X to share his response to the criticism of his and his spouse’s performances at the AMAs. When it came to sharing his thoughts, Shelton didn’t joke or troll anyone. Instead, he shared a relatively straightforward response:

Per the country music singer’s comments, he and Gwen Stefani simply performed as requested. As of this writing, officials for the show itself have not spoken out about the decision to have the couple’s performances pre-recorded. The public may not have further specifics on the matter, but it is fair to say that the celebrity couple does remain busy.

Both Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton have active music careers and continue to produce new tracks. Shelton, for his part, is also returning to TV, as he has a major title that’ll air as part of CBS’ schedule. He and Taylor Sheridan are teaming up for a new singing competition series called The Road, which is set to debut this fall amid the 2025 TV schedule.

As far as the AMAs situation goes, it seems Shelton has essentially washed his hands of it, based on his post. Whether his explanation brings any kind of comfort to fans hoping to see him and his wife perform their respective sets live, though, is hard to say.

The best music has a way of evoking an emotional response in its listeners, whether that’s nostalgia, excitement or any number of feelings. Country music is no different, but it does have a certain reputation for its heartbreaking anthems. Blake Shelton — who has a new singing competition coming this fall to the 2025 TV schedule — may have just one-upped the entire genre with his latest release that had Gwen Stefani unable to stop crying and allegedly caused one label executive to have a heart attack.

“Let Him in Anyway” was officially released last week and will be a single on Blake Shelton’s upcoming album For Recreational Use Only. The song reportedly struck a chord with wife Gwen Stefani (whose relationship with Blake Shelton started after they met on The Voice ), as Jon Loba, the president of Frontline Recordings, North America told American Songwriter:

That’s pretty intense, not only that the song was sad enough to make the No Doubt frontwoman — who married the country singer in 2021 — cry all her makeup off before an event, but that she thought it was good enough to listen to repeatedly after having that reaction.

So what is “Let Him in Anyway” about? The lyrics reference the death of a loved one who “wasn’t quite the Christian he was supposed to be,” with the singer praying that his friend be allowed into heaven anyway.

That is some heavy stuff, and it would seem Chris Oglesby, the senior vice president of creative at BBR Music Group, would agree. Jon Loba recalled playing the song for Oglesby privately, as the VP was dealing with personal issues including the death of his brother-in-law, and it sounds like they had the same reaction as Gwen Stefani, with Loba saying:

Jon Loba then played it for someone else, and Chris Oglesby came in to listen again but reportedly jumped up in the middle of it and ran out of the office. Loba said he thought Oglesby had been overcome by emotion, but a few minutes later he got a call from a general manager who said Oglesby thought he was having a heart attack and they were on their way to the hospital. Loba continued:

That's the kind of story that seemingly could inspire a great country music movie!

So did “Let Him in Anyway” really cause the executive’s heart attack? Chris Oglesby apparently thinks so. He said he felt some “flutters” in his heart a couple of times earlier in the week, but the extreme emotion from Blake Shelton’s song pushed him over the edge. “But luckily not too far,” Jon Loba added. Oglesby is reportedly feeling “better than ever” in the weeks since, but hopefully he’s been sticking to the happier tunes in the former Voice coach’s catalog.

The Blind Auditions are rolling on Season 27 of The Voice, currently airing on the 2025 TV schedule, and fans are loving Adam Levine’s big return. It’s been six years since the Maroon 5 singer contributed to some of the singing competition’s wildest moments, but in a way, Adam Levine has been back longer than we may have realized. That’s because NBC has changed the way seasons of The Voice are filmed, and John Legend’s explanation is pretty fascinating.

John Legend visited his old friend and former coach of The Voice Kelly Clarkson on her talk show to talk about the new crop of singers who he, Adam Levine, Kelsea Ballerini and Michael Bublé are fighting over. When she asked if he missed the show when he took Season 26 off, Legend made a surprising revelation about the filming schedule, saying:

John Legend coached on Seasons 24 and 25, so even though he took 26 off, he said on The Kelly Clarkson Show that he (and Adam Levine) basically returned to set last summer at the same time as Reba McEntire, Snoop Dogg, Gwen Stefani and Michael Bublé. The Canadian crooner, meanwhile, is the only coach to appear on both seasons, so Bublé just stayed put while the other coaches traded out their chairs.

The EGOT winner didn’t specify if they filmed all of Season 26’s pre-recorded rounds before starting Season 27, or if they did the Blind Auditions for each season before moving on to the Battles for each season, etc., and that leaves me with so many questions.

For instance, 19-year-old Iris Herrera didn’t turn a chair in Season 26 but came back to audition for 27 and got to join Kelsea Ballerini’s team. Were her performances mere days apart from each other? Weeks? Was this schedule part of the reason Reba McEntire was able to tape The Voice and Happy’s Place at the same time, or was it part of what complicated that process?

Also, how grueling was that schedule for Michael Bublé, Carson Daly, the band and the rest of the crew? John Legend admitted it was “crazy for producers,” but I guess taking a bigger chunk of time to tape two seasons at once frees up some time over the rest of the year. I’d also imagine it’s pretty strange for the Season 27 contestants to just now get to watch the auditions that happened months ago. How long will have passed between when they auditioned and when the semifinalists return for live episodes?

Clearly I’m just looking for a “Making of The Voice” documentary, but I really do think this is all so interesting. Until I get that doc, I shall simply quiet my mind with the tunes of the current contestants, the gentle comedy of Michael Bublé and the excitement of Adam Levine bringing back something The Voice has been lacking since Blake Shelton and Kelly Clarkson left.

The Voice’s 27th season is set to premiere on the 2025 TV schedule in a few days, and while it will be fun to see Adam Levine return to the singing competition, long gone are the days of his rivalry with Blake Shelton — and the cowboy’s rivalry with Kelly Clarkson as well. The longtime friends — and winningest coaches on The Voice — are long gone from the show now, but Gwen Stefani revealed she was once jealous of Clarkson, and she explained how that jealousy led her to start writing music again.

Now let’s not get the wrong impression: Gwen Stefani was not jealous of Kelly Clarkson’s longtime friendship with her husband. The American Idol OG champ and the No Doubt frontwoman became friends because Clarkson and Blake Shelton were close, and, of course from their time on The Voice together. And when everyone was trying to figure out how to do life in 2020, Stefani didn’t understand how Clarkson was finding time to still be creative. Stefani said in an interview on Today with Hoda and Jenna:

With hindsight being 20/20 (how’s that for a pandemic pun?), we know now that Kelly Clarkson was pouring a lot of pain into her writing around that time, as she filed for divorce from Brandon Blackstock in June of that year. Also, she was sacrificing sleep in order to write music and still do all of the things Gwen Stefani was doing, like raising her kids. (The status of Clarkson’s sourdough starter is unknown.)

But you’ve got to take inspiration where you can get it, and if that was the kick in the pants Gwen Stefani needed, I’m glad it worked. While the three sons Stefani shares with ex-husband Gavin Rossdale were always her priority, it made a difference to remember to do something for herself, she said:

Gwen Stefani released her fifth solo studio album Bouquet in November 2024 — her first since 2017 — and while we most assuredly have Blake Shelton to thank for inspiring some of the music, it sounds like their friend Kelly Clarkson deserves her flowers too.

These three former coaches won’t be on The Voice this season (or possibly ever again, when it comes to Blake Shelton and Kelly Clarkson), but you can still tune in for the Season 27 premiere at 8 p.m. ET Monday, February 3, on NBC and streaming the next day with a Peacock subscription.

The Voice wrapped an emotional 26th season last week, with Sofronio Vasquez nabbing a deserving victory for himself and his coach Michael Bublé. Now, as we start to look ahead to the 2025 TV schedule, there’s much speculation about which of the mentors might return to the Big Red Chairs in Season 28 and beyond. After Snoop Dogg addressed his future on The Voice at the finale, a source is alleging that Gwen Stefani may be following in her husband’s footsteps and calling it quits.

Lots of tears were spilled by the coaches of The Voice this season, with Uncle Snoop breaking down on a number of occasions and tissues regularly being passed back and forth amongst the panel members. The show is often an emotional experience for its coaches — so much so that Ariana Grande said she couldn’t do it again — but something about Gwen Stefani’s eighth turn as a coach seemed to really affect her, as an insider told The Sun she was “crying a lot this season.” The source continued:

Apparently Gwen Stefani was crying a lot of happy tears, but was she simply being present for her team members, or was she getting emotional because she was already thinking about leaving the show again? The insider pointed out that the No Doubt singer hasn’t made any official decision regarding her future with The Voice, but there’s a chance Blake Shelton might play into it when she does. They said:

I’m sure Gwen Stefani has been enjoying having her husband of three years Blake Shelton around more often since he left The Voice after Season 23, and maybe she is looking to spend more time with him (or even to hit The Road with him on his upcoming singing competition).

However, would that really keep her from returning to The Voice? Blake Shelton’s been gone for three seasons, and his wife has coached on two of them. Shelton once said Gwen Stefani had even worried that the show wouldn’t want her after he was gone, so I wonder why that would influence her decision now.

The only thing we really know for sure is that of the Season 26 coaches, Michael Bublé is the only one guaranteed to be coming back. He will try to defend his victory in Season 27 against John Legend, Kelsea Ballerini and returning OG coach Adam Levine. We don’t have too long to wait for that fun to begin, either, because The Voice is set to return to NBC on Monday, February 3.

History was made on The Voice Season 26 — by both the winner and their coach — as a champion was crowned following two hours of performances on a star-studded finale. However, the night was also somewhat bittersweet, because the end of the competition season also meant the last night for this tight-knit panel of coaches. When The Voice returns on the 2025 TV schedule, it will be without Reba McEntire, Gwen Stefani and, most notably, Snoop Dogg. The rapper has become a huge fan favorite, and before Carson Daly put the season to bed, Coach Snoop addressed a possible return to the Big Red Chairs.

Will Snoop Dogg Be Back As A Coach On The Voice?

The Gangster Holy Ghost was in the building on December 10, as Snoop Dogg took the stage with his finalist Jeremy Beloate, as well as Sting for a pair of entertaining performances. But fans couldn’t help but wonder if this was really his final night as a mentor, as he is not set to return for The Voice Season 27. Alas, Uncle Snoop gave us what we wanted, and no, I’m not talking about an invitation to his dressing room. He seemed to confirm he does want to come back, telling Carson Daly:

The statement garnered huge cheers from the audience, and Carson Daly said they were going to hold him to it, as the host thanked Snoop Dogg for the “new life, heart, soul, authenticity [and] brotherhood” he brought to The Voice.

The rookie coach previously said that his contract was for one season only, and his plan was, “I'm gonna do this for one year and get up outta here.” However, he said he fell in love with Reba McEntire, Gwen Stefani and Michael Bublé — not to mention the artists who became his family. During the Blind Auditions, he alluded to a possible repeat performance when he encouraged an artist to keep working and come back so that he could hit his button for her next time. Only time will tell if there really will be a next time.

Sofronio Vasquez Makes History As The Voice Season 26 Winner

As exciting as it was to have hope that Snoop Dogg will return to The Voice, that wasn’t the reason we tuned into NBC on this night. After two performances Monday that showed how much he deserved to win Season 26 and how badly he wanted it, Sofronio Vasquez was crowned the champion. He is the first Filipino singer and second Asian contestant to win The Voice following Season 5’s Tessanne Chin. Moments before the announcement, Vasquez’s coach Michael Bublé spoke to how much that representation meant, telling his team member:

Sofronio Vasquez dropped to his knees when Carson Daly read his name as the newest Four-Chair Turn winner, and he was quickly swarmed by his fellow contestants before seeking out his coach for a tearful hug. It was a big night for Michael Bublé, too. Not only did he become just the fourth rookie coach to win on his first season (following Kelly Clarkson, John Legend and Niall Horan), he became the first of The Voice coaches to have both the winner AND runner-up on their first try.

Michael Bublé’s other finalist Shye came in second place, with Gwen Stefani’s Sydney Sterlace in third, Reba McEntire’s Danny Joseph in fourth and Snoop Dogg’s Jeremy Beloate in fifth place.

The Voice Season 26 is officially in America’s hands. The top 5 artists who were voted through from last week’s Semifinals performed on Monday’s live finale in hopes of hearing their name called when this season wraps on the 2024 TV schedule. Rookie coach Michael Bublé had two singers remaining, while one artist apiece for Snoop Dogg, Reba McEntire and Gwen Stefani took the stage on December 9 for two songs — one up-tempo and one ballad. Viewers were treated to a night of good music, but which contestant did enough to take home the big prize?

Each of the five finalists had all four of The Voice coaches fighting for them in the Blind Auditions, guaranteeing that we’ll see another Four-Chair Turn winner in Season 26. Strangely, however, there were no country artists in the finale. America’s got a tough decision to make, so let’s take a look at how Monday played out before I share my pick for who should win based on the finale performances. (Artists are listed in order of their first appearance.)

Danny Joseph (Team Reba)

After winning the Instant Save in the Semifinals, Reba McEntire’s rocker Danny Joseph said he had nothing to lose going into the finale. He kicked off the show with Luke Combs’ "Ain't No Love in Oklahoma," which was the high-energy note we needed. He got to show off his guitar skills and signature growl later in the night with “Back to Black” by Amy Winehouse. He had a good night, but was it enough to earn America’s vote?

Jeremy Beloate (Team Snoop)

I hope Broadway casting directors watch The Voice, because Jeremy Beloate seems destined for the Great White Way. He showed off his strong crooner skills first with “What the World Needs Now Is Love,” and oh my gosh, I forgot he has that gorgeous falsetto to pull out whenever he needs it. His coach Snoop Dogg was in tears, and Beloate brought the same emotion to Robyn’s “Dancing on My Own,” where his clear, bold voice boomed out to potential voters.

Shye (Team Michael)

I love Joan Osborne’s “One of Us,” but I found it a strange choice for an up-tempo finale song. Shye has been a powerhouse for Michael Bublé this season, though, so I wasn’t too mad at it. I have loved watching the 18-year-old singer grow and find her confidence on The Voice, and knowing her journey made her second performance — “Falling” by Harry Styles — the perfect way to close out the episode. Bublé and Snoop Dogg have apparently already been talking about her future after the show, and Coach Snoop said he can’t wait until she makes an album, “hopefully with my record label.” Girl, get that in writing!

Sydney Sterlace (Team Gwen)

Gwen Stefani boasted the youngest remaining member of Season 26 in 16-year-old Sydney Sterlace, who sang one of the night’s only songs from this decade with Gracie Abrams’ “I Love You, I’m Sorry.” Her voice is beautiful, with a subtle vibrato that she doesn’t overuse, but I felt this was more of a showcase of the kind of album she could make than a finale performance. She followed that up with “Chasing Cars” by Snow Patrol, which gave Grey’s Anatomy fans everywhere PTSD but elicited sweet words from Reba McEntire about being a good role model for her sisters and other young women.

Sofronio Vasquez (Team Michael)

All four coaches were on their feet after Sofronio Vasquez put his own spin on Sia’s “Unstoppable.” Michael Bublé said he wanted it to feel like a fight song, and it definitely did, which was exactly what you should do in the finals. Vasquez has an effortless tone, and he really showed off some amazing runs. His second song gave us more of that fight, as he performed “A Million Dreams” from The Greatest Showman. The artist was so emotional he could barely sing the last line of the song, and it’s safe to say the people in that studio weren’t the only ones to get choked up.

Who Do I Think Should Win The Voice Season 26? Sofronio Vasquez

Based on tonight’s performances, Michael Bublé’s team member Sofronio Vasquez showed a sense of urgency in both of his performances that really made it feel like he wanted it. He’s been consistent all season, even getting a shoe thrown at him by Jennifer Hudson (the highest of compliments). The writing may have been on the wall way back in the Blind Auditions when Bublé told him:

Reba McEntire told Gwen Stefani then that Michael Bublé might have just won the show when Sofronio Vasquez chose to join his team. I certainly think he should. I have to admit, though, Shye nearly swayed me with her show closer, but really, it sounds like Snoop Dogg wants to work with her, so I hope the teen takes that opportunity and runs with it.

Either way, I'm thinking Michael Bublé might notch a rookie season victory, and if one of his artists is able to pull it off, he'll be just the fourth new coach of The Voice to win on their first attempt, along with Niall Horan, John Legend and Kelly Clarkson. That doesn't include Adam Levine, who won the first overall season of the show, but Bublé will get to see the Maroon 5 singer's coaching style up close and personal when The Voice Season 27 hits the 2025 TV schedule.

For the entirety of The Voice’s 26th season, which is set to wrap on the 2024 TV schedule next week, Snoop Dogg has been calling on the Gangster Holy Ghost to help him as he struggled through tough eliminations. However, when the Top 5 artists were revealed during the Semifinals on Tuesday, he seemed to be summoning a different spirit. After just one country music artist competed in Monday's performance show, the rapper took the opportunity to tap into The Voice’s legacy with a strong message that would have made Blake Shelton proud.

On the Tuesday results show, Carson Daly announced the four artists who received the most votes from America based on Monday’s performances. The bottom four vote-getters then performed one last time for the Instant Save, which was also voted on by viewers. Snoop Dogg team member Christina Eagle found herself in the latter group, and after her performance of Lainey Wilson’s “Heart Like a Truck,” the D-O-Double G got real with The Voice’s fans regarding why it was important to vote her through. He said:

With Blake Shelton being a coach on The Voice for the first 23 seasons, and the Queen of Country Reba McEntire replacing him for the last three (not to mention the other country music mentors along the way), the genre has always been wildly popular amongst the contestants and its fans. How strange is it that Season 26 featured just one country artist in the Top 8 — and she was on Snoop Dogg’s team!

As passionate as Snoop’s speech was, though, it wasn’t enough to push Christina Eagle through to the finals, and I’m actually really surprised by that. How often do we not get any country music on The Voice finale? What’s more, Reba McEntire very nearly didn’t have a single artist moving forward. Neither of her semifinalists made it to the Top 4, so thank goodness for that Instant Save. In the end, what will next week’s episodes look like? Here are your Top 5 finalists:

As The Voice Season 26 prepares for its final weeks on the 2024 TV schedule, production has already begun on next season, which will see the triumphant return of OG coach Adam Levine. He and newcomer Kelsea Ballerini have their work cut out for them, as I’m actually obsessed with the coaches’ chemistry this season — even Reba McEntire called it her “favorite.” However, after seeing a peek at their group chat, the incoming coaches might just have this current foursome beat!

Kelsea Ballerini shared a number of images from her Thanksgiving festivities to Instagram Stories, and it looked like a wild time. In addition to plenty of cooking and singing in front of the Christmas tree (I love that she’s already got her tree up, by the way), the “Peter Pan” artist showed that she was in touch with her fellow The Voice coaches, sharing this screenshot:

First off, just the fact that the Season 27 coaches touched base with each other on Thanksgiving is lovely, and you can already tell these guys are going to bring some laughs as well as some edge. That’s no surprise regarding Adam Levine, who’s been involved in several of The Voice’s wildest moments, but here we’ve got Kelsea Ballerini flipping the bird at, well, her bird.

I can’t help but laugh at the Maroon 5 singer calling her turkey “wee,” although I’m kind of on his side, because why does that view of what I assume is the brining process make it look so tiny? Michael Bublé, meanwhile, disagreed on the size of her turkey (the other pics in her Stories show just how huge it actually was) but found the exchange amusing all the same.

Although John Legend appears to be part of the chat, he didn’t ring in quick enough to be included in Kelsea Ballerini’s screenshot, which is understandable considering he had four little ones running around his and Chrissy Teigen’s Thanksgiving.

Getting just a peek into how fun and friendly the Season 27 coaches are — with their season filming simultaneously with the currently airing Season 26 — makes me even more excited for Adam Levine’s return, but I hadn’t expected to like any group more than Reba McEntire, Snoop Dogg, Gwen Stefani and Michael Bublé.

Like Reba McEntire, I think this has been one of the best seasons of The Voice due to the coaches’ chemistry. For a while it seemed like the show might be trying to force rivalries between its mentors in the way that Blake Shelton, Adam Levine and Kelly Clarkson used to bicker. However, the feuds aren’t missed this season, and in fact, the show has benefited from the camaraderie.

Snoop Dogg cares so deeply about his team members that he’s calling them his nieces and nephews now. Gwen Stefani has come with wisdom this season on a level I’ve never noticed from her before, and Reba McEntire is riding high after scoring her first win last season.

Then there’s Michael Bublé, who is pulling double duty as the only coach to appear on both seasons. I wasn’t sure what to expect from him coming into Season 26, but it certainly wasn’t for his humor to be my favorite thing about it. So it definitely doesn’t hurt my anticipation to know we’ll be getting more silliness from him on the 2025 TV schedule, and now seeing a little of what we can expect from Kelsea Ballerini and Adam Levine, I think we’re in for a treat.

Gwen Stefani is in the process of wrapping up Season 26 of The Voice on the 2024 TV schedule right now, and her husband Blake Shelton has some coals in the fire as well. However, he’s been “very mindful” about which jobs he takes since leaving the singing competition. While these two are often couples goals — the cowboy can really lay on the charm — it sounds like one aspect of his career actually makes Stefani quite “irritated” with him.

Blake Shelton is set to kick off a residency in Las Vegas in February. … Or maybe I shouldn’t call it that, given the conversation he had on Jimmy Kimmel Live! involving how much time he’s actually spending in Sin City. When Kimmel inquired about his residency at the Coliseum in Caesar’s Palace, the “Come Back as a Country Boy” singer laughed as he said:

I’m totally picturing Gwen Stefani as Crocodile Dundee telling Blake Shelton, “That’s not a residency. THIS is a residency!” There are fewer knives in my mind movie.

The fact of the matter is that Blake Shelton is playing six nights from February 5 to 15, so he’s not even spending a full month in Las Vegas. You can especially see why Gwen Stefani would take issue with him calling it a residency given just how many concerts she played during her own stint. The country music star hilariously added:

It sounds to me like Blake Shelton was right to correct Jimmy Kimmel about calling it a residency, as the late-night host pointed out he watched more of Gwen Stefani’s residency than he is actually doing himself.

Fans have always been fascinated by Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani’s relationship, partly because the 48-year-old country singer doesn’t seem like a conventional match for the fashionable 55-year-old ska rocker. (She did apparently tell him at the beginning that a romance was “not happening.”)

It’s also because we really did get to see their love blossom in front of our eyes, as they met as coaches on The Voice and continued to appear on various seasons together until the cowboy ultimately left the show in 2023. We’ve seen so many adorable moments between the two, and maybe that’s why it’s so funny to hear about the things that actually drive them nuts about each other.

Blake Shelton may not be willing to commit to a longer residency, but he’s got plenty going on, including a recent collaboration with Post Malone, a new single titled “Texas,” and a duet with Gwen Stefani on her new album Bouquet. He’s also returning to the singing competition arena, just not with The Voice. He’s teamed up with Yellowstone’s Taylor Sheridan for THE ROAD, which will air on CBS as part of the 2025 TV schedule, so keep your eyes peeled for that.

It was already set to be an emotional night, with Michael Bublé being the fourth and final coach to choose the two singers to represent him on The Voice Season 26 live shows, which premiere on the 2024 TV schedule next week. There was no way of knowing, however, just how emotional it would be, with one of the crooner’s team members being assigned a One Direction song just over a month after Liam Payne died tragically at the age of 31. As the Top 8 contestants were revealed on the third night of Playoffs, The Voice also took the opportunity to pay tribute to the fallen pop star.

The Voice Pays Tribute To One Direction Member Liam Payne

When Team Michael member Shye was chosen to sing One Direction’s “Story of My Life” in the Playoffs, there was no way anyone could have known what the band and its fans would be going through right now. The Playoffs were pre-recorded this summer, just months before Liam Payne fell to his death from the balcony of his third-story hotel room in Argentina on October 16.

Following Shye’s performance, Michael Bublé compared her to a different member of One Direction, saying:

It makes sense that Michael Bublé might mention Niall Horan — who has been a coach on The Voice twice, winning both of his seasons — but it’s undeniable that hearing a One Direction song on the show just hits different so soon after the tragedy. As The Voice cut to commercial, the screen went to black and read:

It’s safe to say that Shye did the 1D song justice, too, as she was one of Michael Bublé’s artists to advance to next week’s live episodes. So who else is still in the running to win it all in Season 26?

The talent this season is pretty high-caliber, and I might be so bold as to say I was surprised at some of the artists who were eliminated in this round (I really expected to see teenage phenom Jaukeem Fortson, for one). That's no shade to the eight above but speaks to the overall talent of the season.

Despite the undeniable talent of The Voice artists competing in the Season 26 Playoffs on the 2024 TV schedule right now, it can be argued how successful the show has been in launching the careers of its contestants. One thing is for sure, though — it’s responsible for a pretty successful love story between two of its coaches. Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton have been married for over three years, after first meeting on set of the NBC singing competition in 2014, but the No Doubt singer apparently once told the country star the workplace romance was “not happening.”

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton’s relationship is something of a romantic comedy, as neither knew who the other was when they met as coaches on The Voice in Season 7. He only knew her as “the girl that holds up the orange” on the Tragic Kingdom album cover, and she thought his country twang was “so fake.” Both were going through divorces at the time — Stefani with Bush rocker Gavin Rossdale and Shelton with his own very high-profile split from Miranda Lambert, and the No Doubt singer didn’t want more drama. She told People:

I can definitely understand, with everything Gwen Stefani was going through, her not wanting to deal with the media frenzy that was guaranteed to accompany the unlikely relationship between her and her colleague.

If we know anything, though, it’s that Blake Shelton can lay on the charm, and it turns out he knew exactly the right move to win Gwen Stefani over — through songwriting. She said the country star knew how fulfilling that process was for her, so he sent her the beginnings of what would be their first duet, “Go Ahead and Break My Heart.” She continued:

The couple went public in November 2015, and “Go Ahead and Break My Heart” may have been their first collaboration, but it was far from their last. Most recently Blake Shelton can be heard on “Purple Irises,” a song off of Gwen Stefani’s new album Bouquet, and I’m glad these two fought through their chaotic early meeting to be together.

Today, Blake Shelton is very mindful about his career decisions after leaving The Voice in 2023 after 23 seasons. Gwen Stefani, meanwhile, can be seen on Season 26, with new episodes airing at 8 p.m. ET Mondays and 9 p.m. ET Tuesdays on NBC and streaming the next day with a Peacock subscription.

The Voice Season 26 has officially entered the Playoff portion of the 2024 TV schedule, where all four coaches will have to choose just two of their remaining five team members to represent them in the live shows. On Tuesday, however, the focus was only on Gwen Stefani’s team, as all of her artists performed before she had to make her painful decision. Machine Gun Kelly helped a little, serving as a Playoff mentor for her team’s rehearsals, and while I was pleasantly surprised at how engaged he was, it was a different twist — learning who will be Snoop Dogg’s advisor — that really caught me off guard.

MGK Makes His Voice Debut To Help Team Gwen

It’s been a busy month for Machine Gun Kelly, as he made his debut on The Voice just days after Megan Fox announced in an oozy pic that they are having a baby. Although serving as a Playoff advisor for Gwen Stefani’s team probably pales in comparison to becoming a father again, MGK really seemed to embrace his role.

All due respect to the rapper, maybe I didn't expect the man who’s been known to climb to dangerous heights during his shows and smash his face with a champagne glass to give such sound advice to the No Doubt singer’s team members. But I loved how MGK made himself relatable to the contestants, pointing out that he, too, had worked a lot of fast food jobs and — like Team Gwen’s Jan Dan — had been on stage when his child was born.

He wasn’t shy about sharing his opinion, helping the singers connect to the emotion of the lyrics they were singing. He encouraged them to ad-lib and make unexpected choices, because “for some people, weird is the way.”

I actually would have welcomed the chance to see Machine Gun Kelly serve as the advisor for the other teams, but that’s apparently not the plan, and I’m actually a little confused by what that plan is.

Team Snoop Will Be Advised By … Simone Biles?

As The Voice teased the continuation of the Playoffs next Monday, Simone Biles was revealed to be Snoop Dogg’s Playoff advisor, and that kind of threw me for a loop. No doubt the West Coast rapper is trying to channel that GOAT energy, and nobody’s questioning how amazing and inspiring the Olympic gymnast is, but how well can she advise singing? I apparently wasn’t the only one confused by this, as fans on X (Twitter) chimed in:

Now, Simone Biles has performed on the biggest stage in the world, so maybe she will focus her advice on calming the nerves and performing under pressure. That honestly does sound like it’s right up Snoop’s alley.

I won’t make the mistake of underestimating the gold medalist, either, the way that I might have underestimated MGK. This also wasn’t the first time in Season 26 that I’ve been confused by this show that I’ve been watching for the past 13 years. First they introduced a new rule that seemed to undermine the whole point of The Voice, and then a Gwen Stefani contestant made history by doing something that I frankly didn’t know was allowed.

The Voice is keeping me on my toes, and believe me, I’m nowhere near as graceful as Simone Biles on that balance beam. I’m looking forward to seeing what she brings to the singing competition when Playoffs resume at 8 p.m. ET Monday, November 25, on NBC.

As if The Voice’s star-studded coaching panel of Snoop Dogg, Reba McEntire, Gwen Stefani and Michael Bublé wasn’t enough, the singing competition is about to welcome two more superstars as Mega Mentors to help guide the Season 26 teams through the brutal Three-Way Knockouts. Sting is one of those celebrated musicians, who will help Stefani and Coach Snoop navigate this portion of the 2024 TV schedule, and he had a pretty big confession to make about agreeing to do the show.

Sting, the famed singer of The Police, will lend his expertise to Team Snoop and Team Gwen when the Three-Way Knockouts kick off on November 11, while Jennifer Hudson — who previously served as a coach on The Voice for two seasons — will assist the members of Team Reba and Team Michael. While the EGOT winner has plenty of experience on The Voice, it would seem her counterpart knows considerably less about the process. Sting told People:

I highly doubt that his lack of knowledge about the competition will hinder him in providing worthy advice for the contestants. Sting has, after all, been doing this for nearly 50 years, winning 17 Grammy Awards and an Emmy along the way, in addition to a Tony Award nomination and four Oscar nods.

As the other coaches have said multiple times this season how fulfilling their job is — Reba McEntire even proclaimed Season 26 her “favorite” — Sting loved giving "the nearest hint of advice and seeing that come to fruition," calling his experience both "nourishing and joyful." He continued:

It’s good to hear that Sting enjoyed the process as much as the coaches do, and that’s probably in part because he gets to leave before Snoop Dogg and Gwen Stefani have to make heart-breaking choices for their team.

In the Three-Way Knockouts, team members will go head-to-head-to-head, with their coach tasked with choosing just one to advance to the Top 20 for Playoffs. Each mentor will get one Save to bring back one of their eliminated players, as well as a Steal to take a member of a different team. If Coach Snoop thought the Battles were hard, he’s going to really need that Gangster Holy Ghost to get through Knockouts.

Before all that happens, though, I’m excited to see the fresh perspective that Sting brings to The Voice having never seen the show before, and we don’t have long to wait. Season 26 Knockouts kick off at 8 p.m. ET Monday, November 11, on NBC and can be streamed the next day with a Peacock subscription.

As The Voice Season 26 progresses on the 2024 TV schedule, we’re coming close to the end of the Battles. The teams are getting smaller, which means the front-runners are starting to separate themselves from the pack. While each coach on The Voice boasts multiple artists capable of going all the way, Reba McEntire may hold the key to the trophy and the history books. In fact, there’s a specific record currently held by Gwen Stefani that — after watching Night 4 of the Battle round — I think the Queen of Country has a good chance at stealing away.

Longtime followers of The Voice might remember that Carter Rubin was crowned the champion in Season 19, giving his coach Gwen Stefani her one and only win so far. Carter was just 15 at the time, earning the distinction of being the competition’s youngest male winner. (Brynn Cartelli, a member of Kelly Clarkson’s Season 14 team, is the youngest overall winner. She was also 15.) Well, Reba McEntire just happens to have a young man named Jaukeem Fortson on her team this season, and this 13-year-old has what it takes to win it all.

Jaukeem Fortson has an incredible voice — not just for a 13-year-old, but for anyone — and he went up against someone twice his age on the October 29 show. Of course, that’s not saying much, as his teammate Tsola is still pretty youthful herself at 27 years old, but the duo sang the crap out of “Higher Love” before Reba McEntire made the decision to move forward with Jaukeem.

The teen continues to blow the other coaches away, too, as Michael Bublé hilariously marveled at the skill that Jaukeem Fortson already shows. He said:

Men in Black alien or not, Snoop Dogg had a different comparison, illustrating the improvement he’s already seen in the young singer, saying:

It’s worth noting that both Michael Bublé and Snoop Dogg also turned for Jaukeem Fortson in the Blind Auditions, and my biggest question is why Gwen Stefani didn’t! I thought immediately when he broke into Adele’s “Easy on Me” that we might be looking at the eventual Season 26 winner. Just take a look at that performance:

No wonder Reba McEntire called this season her favorite. The Queen of Country definitely could be on the road to her second-straight win, unseating Gwen Stefani (and former daughter-in-law Kelly Clarkson) from the record books in the process. I mean, we call her the queen for a reason.

The Battles continued on the current season of The Voice, with the mentors making some tough decisions as they pare down their teams. Despite the struggles that come with the Battle Round, the morale amongst the four superstar coaches has been as high as the folks leaving Snoop Dogg’s dressing room. In fact, Reba McEntire even said of the three seasons she’s been a coach on The Voice, this one is her favorite, and after hearing all of their comments on the October 28 episode, I agree 100% with her reasoning.

The Voice seasons of yore were filled with rivalries. Adam Levine feuding with Christina Aguilera and Blake Shelton trolling everyone, including his own wife Gwen Stefani. Season 26 lacks those hijinks, but this crew proves you don’t need them. The Queen of Country said as much when she was talking to Snoop Dogg a couple of weeks ago, telling him:

Snoop Dogg agreed that the chemistry between the two of them, Gwen Stefani and Michael Bublé is easy and organic, and I have to say that seeing how much these four really enjoy each other and how much fun they’re having is making it one of my favorite seasons as well.

On the third night of Battles, Michael Bublé said no fewer than three times how rewarding it is to be a coach and how happy he is that he joined the show. He’s turned out to be my favorite part of Season 26 so far, so it sounds like he and I are both happy he’ll be back when Season 27 hits the 2025 TV schedule.

Meanwhile, Gwen Stefani and Snoop Dogg gushed over the feeling of watching the artists grow under their tutelage, saying:

• Snoop: The part I like — like I keep saying — is when they listen. When they listen and they do it.
• Gwen: It’s so cool to watch. And then they improve. Isn’t that the best?
• Snoop: Yes! Yes!

The coaches are just constantly laughing and smiling, giving out compliments like Halloween candy and showing so much love for the artists and each other. On this most recent episode, Uncle Snoop made sure to shout greetings when he saw Michael Bublé on the phone with his family, proving that the rapper really does have a connection with the crooner’s 6-year-old.

That’s not to take away from this season’s talent, either. The Voice is developing some really strong singers, and I’m sure that doesn’t hurt Reba McEntire’s opinion of this season overall.

The country music singer lost her initial season on The Voice to Niall Horan but then won Season 25 with Asher HaVon. Can she put the cherry on top of her favorite season as a coach by winning her second in a row? For those who have been keeping up with The Voice since Season 26 hit the 2024 TV schedule, here’s where the competition really starts heating up. After choosing the 14 artists they want to take into competition, the four celebrity coaches will now be tasked with paring down those teams, pitting their own singers against each other in the Battle Round. Gwen Stefani explained why she thinks Snoop Dogg will struggle with this “2 singers enter, 1 singer leaves” concept, and yikes, I can definitely see her point.

Snoop Dogg is one of two rookie coaches on The Voice, along with Michael Bublé, who has been my favorite part of this season so far. The Blind Auditions saw the mentors adding people to their teams, lifting their spirits by giving them their big shot. The Battles are basically the opposite, and it sounds like the rapper may need to sip on some “Gin and Juice” just to get through it. Gwen Stefani told Access Hollywood:

That definitely tracks with what we saw in the Blind Auditions, where Snoop was always there with a hug and a positive spin, even when artists weren’t able to turn a chair. Michael Bublé spoke to how much of a “beautiful soul” his new colleague was when he told the sweetest story about his 6-year-old daughter being a Snoop fan, and it’s definitely going to be a little wild to watch the singer of the “Affirmation Song” picking off members of his own team.

However, I can’t imagine that he’ll continue to be anything but positive toward the artists, even during the Battles. My bet is he’ll choose to focus on how good the winning artist was instead of why the other may have missed the mark.

Still, if he wants to win The Voice, he’ll probably have to get in there with some constructive criticism at some point. Snoop Dogg said himself that he wasn’t building a team full of singers who are already there; he wanted to help people improve. I mean, he’s a coach outside of The Voice, after all!

New coaches do often struggle with eliminating their artists, but Blake Shelton is one who has set an example by finding ways to continue helping those singers with their careers even after the cameras stop rolling, so that could be an option to help the rapper feel better.

Either way, it’s been an exciting season so far, with a rule change that I’m kind of on the fence about and a history-making contestant that made me throw all my knowledge of the show out the window. So what the hell, bring on the Battles!

I’ve been watching The Voice since the very beginning, and even while the competition has seen adjustments from season to season in the size of the teams, the addition of Blocks and Steals, etc., I feel like I’ve got a pretty good handle on how things work. At least that was the case until Season 26 arrived on the 2024 TV schedule. Last week’s premiere introduced a new rule that seemed to challenge the entire premise of the singing contest, and one history-making performance on the second night of Blind Auditions has me questioning everything. Did I accidentally get into Snoop’s stash?

A 33-year-old artist named Felsmere took the stage on the September 30 episode, singing “Some Kind of Wonderful,” and she was likely feeling exactly that when Gwen Stefani and Michael Bublé turned their chairs. She ended up going with the No Doubt singer, earning her spot in The Voice history books. As Felsmere explained:

Wait, you can do that? I’m not surprised that this is the first time in 26 seasons for this to happen. I actually thought the reason no one had done this before was because it wasn’t allowed! Sure, we usually see an artist or two each season who comes back for a second chance after previously not turning a chair in Blind Auditions. I hadn’t even considered someone returning after having made a team.

If you have also been with the show for the past 13 years and don’t recognize the name Felsmere, it’s because back in 2011, the 20-year-old singer performed under her real name, Kelsey Rey. She auditioned with the song “American Boy,” inspiring The Voice coaches Adam Levine, CeeLo Green and Christina Aguilera to turn. (Gwen Stefani’s lucky Felsmere didn’t hold Blake Shelton’s snub against her!)

Kelsey Rey ultimately joined Team CeeLo but was eliminated in the Battles after singing “Unwritten” with the duo The Thompson Sisters. Can we assume she’s not a fan of the movie Anyone But You giving that song new life?

A quick search of the Internet gave me no hard evidence to back up why I thought contestants couldn’t return after being on a team — as if I was going to be able to prove to The Voice that I know their competition better than them. I guess it was a matter of pride, especially after the addition of the Coach Replay for Season 26 left me so befuddled last week.

I should add that my confusion is in no way meant to disrespect Felsmere. The artist called her first bout on The Voice the “best experience of my life,” and I’m thrilled that she’s lucky enough to get this opportunity again 13 years later, after so much growth.

Fans who have been watching The Voice for any significant amount of time are used to different twists being introduced for a new season. The show has added Steals and Saves over the years and experimented with different ways to give artists a second chance. As Season 26 premiered on the 2024 TV schedule, new coaches Snoop Dogg and Michael Bublé will be amongst the first to experiment with the Coach Replay button, but after seeing Reba McEntire use it, I have to admit I’ve got mixed feelings about the new rule.

Every season you have a coach kicking themselves after passing on an artist during the Blind Auditions, saying they wish they had a do-over so they could get that person on their team. Now they have the power to do so. Host Carson Daly explained that the Coach Replay will give all of The Voice coaches one opportunity to hit their button for an artist after the audition has ended. Allow me to get into what this all meant, particularly for Team Reba.

I Loved Seeing Reba McEntire Give A Deserving Artist A Second Chance

Kendall Eugene took the stage on the premiere episode of Season 26 with a version of Morgan Wallen’s “Don’t Think Jesus.” However, the Fort Worth, Texas, native failed to pique the interest of any of the coaches despite a nice voice, good range and that highly coveted country sound. After the mentors turned around to discuss the seemingly failed audition, Reba McEntire expressed regret and bewilderment over having not hit her button, telling Eugene:

The tears flowed instantly — from Reba McEntire, from Kendall Eugene, even from Snoop Dogg — and I loved seeing how much the moment meant to the aspiring singer.

It really must be so frustrating for the artists who work so hard to get this audition just to have a coach say, “Man, I’m so stupid for not hitting my button. What was I thinking?” That’s not the singer’s fault, and this new rule does give some justice to singers who deserve to be on the show. But there’s a major reason why I can’t fully get behind it.

The Coach Replay Goes Against The Very Premise Of The Voice

The main quality that has always set The Voice apart from other singing competitions like American Idol is that it is a BLIND audition, based solely on the singing. Not the contestant’s story, not their charisma, not their looks. Allowing the coaches to change their mind about a singer after seeing them, talking to them and getting context into their nerves, song choice, circumstances, etc., flies in the face of the show’s concept.

In Reba McEntire’s case, she basically knew right away she’d made a mistake, saying:

It does seem like she regretted not turning before she even saw him or his reaction to not making the show, but this new rule makes for a pretty slippery slope. It will be interesting to see how Gwen Stefani, Snoop Dogg and Michael Bublé use their Coach Replay as the Blind Auditions progress.

When I first clicked over to NBC on that fateful April night in 2011, I never could have imagined that today, as The Voice’s 26th season hits the 2024 TV schedule, the singing competition would remain such a prominent feature in my life. Yet, here we are, 13 years later, and I’ve been there for every Four-Chair turn, every live finale and every Adam Levine controversy. Heck, I’ve even made watching The Voice part of my job. So whether you’re a longtime fan or newcomer, hopefully I can provide you with everything you want to know, from how to watch The Voice to the winner of each season.

What drew me to the show initially was its intriguing premise — The Voice coaches pick singers for their teams sight unseen, based on their singing alone. I also liked the emphasis of “coaching” over “judging,” having grown tired of Simon Cowell’s rudeness on American Idol. There have been some ups and downs, but those qualities remain, and therefore so do I. Let’s get into everything you need to know about The Voice.

How To Watch The Voice Season 26 Premiere

The Voice Season 26 premieres at 8 p.m. ET Monday, September 23, on NBC. While episodes typically air on Mondays and Tuesdays, the upcoming presidential election is affecting the TV schedule this year, and NBC has chosen not to start Tuesday episodes until after the October 1 vice presidential debate. There will also not be a new episode on Election Day, which is Tuesday, November 5.

The Blind Auditions will air as follows:

• Monday, September 30: Blind Auditions 2
• Monday, October 7: Blind Auditions 3

Who Are The Voice Coaches For Season 26?

Snoop Dogg and Michael Bublé will make their coaching debuts in Season 26 after serving as advisors in previous years. They will be joined by reigning champion Reba McEntire and Gwen Stefani, who is returning for her eighth season.

Adam Levine Returning For Season 27

NBC got a jump on announcing who would be in the Big Red Chairs for Season 27, announcing that Adam Levine was returning in 2025. The Maroon 5 singer initially left the show after Season 16, and longtime fans surely have strong opinions about his eventual return, given his controversies both on the show (like throwing his team member under the bus in Season 15) and in his personal life (Levine’s 2022 sexting scandal).

Adam Levine will join veteran coach John Legend, Michael Bublé in his sophomore season and newcomer Kelsea Ballerini.

Past Coaches Of The Voice

Almost from the beginning, The Voice allowed its coaches to come and go as their schedules allow, and all told, 20 big names in the music business have mentored hopeful artists, with three others making their debuts in Seasons 26 and 27.

Theoretically any coach could return at any point — just look at Adam Levine — but there do seem to be a few we’re unlikely to see again. Blake Shelton hung up his hat after a record 23 seasons on the show and has said the only way he’d return would be to get the original four back. Kelly Clarkson seemingly stepped away for good when she relocated her family and daytime talk show to New York City. Finally, Christina Aguilera was critical of The Voice following her exit in Season 10, which makes me think she has no interest in coming back.

Who Won The Voice Season 25?

Asher HaVon, a 31-year-old from Selma, Alabama, won The Voice Season 25 on May 21, 2024, becoming the first openly LGBTQ+ contestant to win. Not all finales end the way the audience thinks they should, but this time even the opposing coaches agreed that HaVon consistently gave the best performance week after week.

There are a number of well-known singers who you may not know once competed for chair turns. Melanie Martinez, for example, competed on Adam Levine’s team in Season 3, and before Morgan Wallen (pictured above) became one of the hottest country music singers, he was singing pop on Team Usher in Season 6.

Several celebrity relatives have also been on The Voice, including Candace Cameron Bure’s daughter Natasha and Kaley Cuoco’s sister Briana.

The Voice Has Always Been Friendly To Country Artists

Thanks to Blake Shelton and Reba McEntire, the NBC singing competition has always had at least one coach with expertise in country music, and they’ve attracted a good number of artists in that genre who hope to learn from the best. Despite public perception, however, fewer than half of the winners have been country music artists.

How The Voice Competition Works

The Voice tends to change its format slightly from season to season, adjusting the size of the teams and giving coaches additional tools like Saves and Steals to use during the different rounds. Here’s a quick breakdown of how Season 26 will work (according to NBC):

Blind Auditions

This is the round that separates The Voice from other singing competitions. Each singer takes the stage to audition, with the coaches’ chairs facing backward. If a coach likes what they hear, they hit the button to turn their chair around, signaling that they want that person (or duo or trio) on their team. If more than one coach turns around, the power goes back to the performer, who can then pick which team they join. For Season 26, each team will consist of 14 artists, and each coach will have one Block to use against another coach.

Battles

Once each coach’s team is full, contestants face off against another member of their own team in the Battle rounds. Two singers are assigned a duet by their coach, who afterward chooses which artist they want to continue working with. The other is eliminated. This season each coach will have two Steals, which they can use to bring the losing member of another coach’s Battle to their own team. Each team will go from 14 to 9 in this round.

Knockouts

Three-way Knockouts are back in Season 26, with each singer going against two teammates. Each contestant will sing a song of their own choosing, and after the three performances, their coach will pick one to move on. Coaches will have one Steal in this round, as well as a Save to keep an additional member of their own team from being eliminated. Teams will be 5 members strong leaving this round.

Playoffs

I was hoping that The Voice would go back to live Playoffs for Season 26, but NBC has confirmed it was pre-recorded. In this round all five members of each team perform, with their coach choosing just two to advance to the live shows. In previous iterations, America’s vote determined the two who moved on, and each coach was allowed to save a third. There are no Saves or Steals in this round, with 8 overall moving onto the Semifinals.

Live Semifinals And Finale

We’re only getting two weeks of live shows this season. All eight contestants will perform on the Monday of Semifinals week, with America’s vote determining who makes it to the live finale. The artists who are revealed on Tuesday to have the lowest number of votes will perform for one Instant Save, which is voted on by the home audience during the episode. Fans will vote again in the following Monday's live finale, with a winner being announced the next night.

How To Vote On The Voice

Voting will only be available to viewers for the Semifinals and Finals of Season 26. If voting works the same way as last season, fans will be allowed one vote per email address, per voting method. There are two ways to vote: 1) At NBC.com or 2) The Voice official app. The voting window will open at the start of the episode (8 p.m. ET) and remain open until 7 a.m. ET. Instant Saves are voted on through the app.

What Prize Does The Voice Winner Get?

Every winner of The Voice has received $100,000 and a record deal, though Blake Shelton, Adam Levine and many winners have bashed the recording contract, saying artists are not taken care of after the show.

The coaches themselves don’t win anything except for bragging rights, but a banner was raised for Blake Shelton, who holds the record for most wins with 9, during his farewell episode.

The Best Things About Being A Fan Of The Voice

• The dynamic between the different combinations of coaches has always been almost as important as the musical talent on The Voice. Over the years there have been some fiery rivalries (Adam Levine and Christina Aguilera), bizarre matchups (Reba McEntire and Snoop Dogg) and even romance (Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani).
• It’s also amazing to watch the artists grow under the tutelage of their coaches. Getting to see them work with today’s most successful musicians over the weeks really gives fans a peek behind the music industry curtain, and when the finalists take the stage for the live episodes — which feature full productions with choreography, backup dancers and huge set pieces — it’s amazing to see how they’ve transitioned into stars.

The Worst Thing About Being A Fan Of The Voice

• The Voice’s Achilles heel has been its failure to produce any big superstars. While there are some recognizable names coming out of the show, it falls way short of American Idol when you consider the celebrities who started there (Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Hudson, etc.). It does get frustrating to invest in The Voice’s artists and then never hear of them again once the season’s over.

Music definitely runs in the blood of Kingston, Zuma and Apollo Rossdale, with their parents Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale being some of the biggest names on the ‘90s charts. So it’s not all that surprising that their three sons have inherited some of those musical proclivities. What is a little more unexpected is that one of them — 16-year-old Zuma — appears to be following more in the footsteps of his stepfather, former Voice coach Blake Shelton. The Bush frontman recently shared his thoughts on his country music-singing son and what’s most important to him when it comes to his kids.

A few decades ago, Gavin Rossdale was climbing the rock charts with hits like "Glycerine.” as Gwen Stefani was our ska queen as the singer of No Doubt. They’re both still performing, but now, too, are their three boys. The British rocker opened up about the different avenues each has gone down musically, telling the New York Post:

It sounds like Gavin Rossdale doesn’t mind that Zuma is more “Hillbilly Bone” than “Machinehead,” he just thinks it’s cool that his boys have inherited their parents’ love for music and that they’re growing up to be good men.

They certainly are growing up, as Zuma recently celebrated his 16th birthday, and Gwen Stefani posted an Instagram video in his honor that shows just how close he is to Blake Shelton. Check that out below:

Wow, Zuma fully looks the part of a country music star, decked out in his button-up shirt, jeans and cowboy hat alongside his stepdad. It’s obvious from many of those pictures that he and Blake Shelton are close, and even the one of the teenager sitting on the truck looks like it could have been Shelton at an earlier age. However, the younger pictures of Zuma holding a guitar show that his love for country music might have started long before Gwen Stefani and Shelton’s relationship.

Blake Shelton has talked over the years about what he’s learned about being a parent and how the boys are the most important thing now. Back in July he even gave Zuma Rossdale the opportunity to perform onstage at his bar Ole Red in Tishomingo, Oklahoma, where Zuma sang Zach Bryan’s “Oklahoma Smokeshow.”

Gavin Rossdale and Gwen Stafni split in 2015, and due to their different parenting styles, the Bush rocker has said they don’t co-parent, they just each do their own thing. According to Rossdale, Kingston, Apollo and Zuma have gained an “incredible perspective” that way, and the most important thing is that they know they are “loved and supported” no matter where they are.

I love that they’re getting that support not just from Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale, but that Blake Shelton is a big part of it too.

It wasn’t just the world’s greatest athletes who descended on Paris over the past couple of weeks for the 2024 Olympic Games — many celebrities also didn’t miss the chance to see the U.S. go for gold. While the likes of Christopher Meloni took in events and Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling were spotted in the crowds, others like Kelly Clarkson and Snoop Dogg actually got paid to be there. After seeing the West Coast rapper inject his unique energy into the French experience, I’m even more excited about him joining The Voice — especially after seeing his and Gwen Stefani’s new promo.

When The Voice returns to the 2024 TV schedule on September 23 for Season 26, Snoop Dogg and Michael Bublé will make their coaching debuts, joining reigning champ Reba McEntire and returning coach Gwen Stefani. In addition to addressing fans’ biggest criticism of the singing competition, the addition of the D-O-double G is just plain fun. Honestly, have any two coaches ever looked more iconic than Snoop and the No Doubt frontwoman in this NBC promo?

As someone who grew up on these artists’ music in the ‘90s, it simply doesn’t get better. Plus, there’s a reason that Snoop Dogg is everywhere — he’s so damn fun to watch. Having been in the music and entertainment industry for decades, he brings an incredible amount of knowledge to The Voice. My favorite part, though, is that he knows he’s got a good chance to win the show, but he’s content to keep it low-key, telling Gwen Stefani:

I can absolutely see Snoop Dogg coming in and winning his first season as a coach on The Voice. There’s nothing the man can’t do. In addition to his music career, he’s released a cookbook, hosted Wrestlemania, acted in movies and TV, launched his own wine, coaches a youth football league, and is friends with Martha Stewart. That really only scratches the surface, too.

At the Paris Olympics, he had the honor of banging the brigadier to open the Games’ first-ever breakdancing competition — which blessed us with the viral performance of “Raygun” — and he performed at the Closing Ceremony. It all just proved to me that we truly can’t have enough Snoop Dogg, so let’s get to the Blind Auditions already, am I right?

I’m glad that Season 26 is pairing him with Gwen Stefani, too, because I think they’ll be fun to watch, and I honestly can’t wait to see him interact with Reba McEntire. Unfortunately this specific coaching panel will be a one-time thing — at least for now — as Michael Bublé will be the only one of them returning for Season 27.

NBC has already announced that come 2025, OG coach Adam Levine is returning to The Voice, as well as John Legend, Kelsea Ballerini (in her debut) and, as previously mentioned, Michael Bublé.

We’ll just have to enjoy Gwen Stefani and Snoop Dogg while we have them, and it all starts at 8 p.m. ET Monday, September 23, on NBC. Episodes will also be available to stream the next day with a Peacock subscription.

Gwen Stefani gave ‘90s music fans quite the thrill this spring when she reunited with her band No Doubt for the first time in nine years to play Coachella. However, anyone hoping that they might get to see “Don’t Speak” or “Just a Girl” live as part of some kind of reunion tour was likely disappointed when it was announced that Stefani would instead return for her eighth season as a coach on The Voice. According to reports, the ska singer chose the singing competition over the band, and her NBC paycheck might have played a big part in that decision. 

Why Did Gwen Stefani Return To The Voice Instead Of Touring With No Doubt? 

As it turns out, Coachella wasn’t supposed to be a one-and-done gig, according to a source for The Sun. The esteemed music festival was intended to be the first hit of nostalgia to kick off what would have been the band’s first tour in 12 years. The insider said: 

Despite No Doubt fans clamoring for more from the “Hella Good” rockers, Gwen Stefani reportedly had a big offer from NBC to return to The Voice, and amid the scheduling struggles, she went back to the Big Red Chair. 

How Much Does Gwen Stefani Make On The Voice? 

If you’re thinking that NBC must have offered Gwen Stefani quite a bit of cash if it was enough to keep her from hitting the road with No Doubt again, you’d be absolutely correct. A source revealed to The Sun that Stefani will allegedly earn $13 million for her appearance on The Voice Season 26, where she’ll coach alongside Season 25 champ Reba McEntire and newcomers Snoop Dogg and Michael Bublé.

So how does The Voice coach salary compare to a touring rock star’s? Apparently $13 million is the equivalent of what the singer would have earned for two months on the road with No Doubt, and from an outsider’s perspective, it definitely seems like the singing competition would be the easier paycheck.

Now, that’s not a very rock ‘n’ roll reason to turn down a reunion tour, but we also have to remember that Gwen Stefani still gets to hit the stage quite often with her husband Blake Shelton. The two have even been known to duet on some of No Doubt’s biggest hits, so she’s still finding ways to scratch that live performance itch.

All hope isn’t necessarily lost, though. Gwen Stefani’s NBC comeback is just for one season, as The Voice has already announced that OG coach Adam Levine is returning with John Legend, Kelsea Ballerini and Michael Bublé to serve as mentors for the season set to premiere in spring 2025. Perhaps Stefani and No Doubt will do something then?

Every completed trip around the sun is worthy of being celebrated, and it looks like Blake Shelton did it right, as he marked his 48th birthday by hitting the town with Gwen Stefani. The couple were vacationing in Italy, and apparently quite a few drinks were harmed in the making of said birthday celebration, as evidenced by photos of the country music singer showing off his hilarious new hat before falling asleep in his clothes. The whole scene earned buddy Carson Daly’s stamp of approval.

Blake Shelton shared a few select images from his big birthday night out to Instagram, where he remembered to thank his wife of nearly three years for giving him the “greatest birthday ever.” As for his wardrobe choices, you’ve got to see this disco ball helmet for yourself: 

The former coach of The Voice paired the disco hat with some silly novelty glasses and a Hawaiian shirt — the same shirt he can be seen sleeping in in the second photo on the post. It looks like Gwen Stefani put some work into making sure her hubby felt special on his big day, with balloons spelling out “Happy Birthday” floating above his bed. 

Carson Daly — whose amazing friendship (and rivalry) with Blake Shelton developed during their time on The Voice and Barmageddon — loved the whole scene, as he bro-ed out in the comments, writing: 

Blake Shelton’s post showing the “during” and “after” shots of his birthday bash followed a “before” post earlier in the day that showed him pedaling his way to the hotel via bicycle. That was apparently Gwen Stefani’s way of keeping her husband safe after a few drinks, and hopefully he also soaked up some of the booze by popping into a yummy Italian pizzeria like the we can see in the background:

Several of his former team members from The Voice also made sure to drop in and wish the ex-coach a good day as well. While Blake Shelton isn’t likely to return to the Big Red Chairs, Season 27 will see the comeback of another OG coach in Adam Levine. The Maroon 5 frontman’s presence could also be seen as a good thing for Blake stans who refuse to give up hope that the cowboy will return to the singing competition someday. 

It looks like Blake Shelton enjoyed his Italian birthday party, and it’s nice to know that leaving The Voice means that he gets to take more of these trips with Gwen Stefani. Speaking of whom, Stefani will be back in her Big Red Chair when The Voice hits the 2024 TV schedule this fall. She’ll join Reba McEntire and newcomers Snoop Dogg and Michael Bublé, so be sure to tune into NBC.. 

Blake Shelton is reportedly making an appearance on The Voice Season 25 finale, and when he does, fans may notice he’s sporting a slimmer figure than when he exited the show two seasons ago. The cowboy has reportedly lost about 20 pounds, and it sounds like he’s got wife Gwen Stefani to thank for it. The No Doubt singer reportedly went to pretty extreme lengths to motivate her husband to a healthier lifestyle, allegedly saying “no nookie” until he made some changes. 

Gwen Stefani’s Bedroom Ban Allegedly Helped Blake Shelton Lose Weight 

Hopefully Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani have been getting to spend more time together now that the country singer no longer has two seasons of The Voice to film per year (though Stefani will be back in the Big Red Chairs for Season 26). There was one specific activity, though, that the ska queen supposedly took off the table until her husband got some of his bad habits under control. According to an insider for Life&Style:

I mean, setting attainable goals for yourself is a proven way to obtain your objective, and one can easily see how sexy time with Gwen Stefani might have kept her husband inspired. It seems to have worked, too, as Blake Shelton reportedly replaced his favorite foods like frozen pizzas with sensible portions of lean proteins, fruits and vegetables. He also cut back on the beer, the source said, continuing:

And as for the “nookie,” Blake Shelton’s newfound energy has supposedly only done good things for the adorable couple. The insider said:

Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani have been married for nearly three years and are often the subject of rumors of marital strife. It’s good to hear that the cowboy may have a little extra pep in his step these days, especially as he prepares to appear on The Voice. 

Blake Shelton Returning To The Voice For Season 25 Finale 

The five finalists on The Voice’s 25th season gave their final performances on May 20, and when someone from Reba McEntire, John Legend or Dan + Shay’s team is crowned the winner on May 21 (Chance the Rapper’s team was eliminated in the Semifinals), there will be some familiar faces on the broadcast. 

Along with Blake Shelton, who left the show after 23 seasons, a number of former Voice coaches will appear for a celebration of the competition’s milestone 25th season. According to NBC, along with the cowboy we'll see his former rivals Kelly Clarkson and Adam Levine, another OG coach CeeLo Green, Niall Horan, Jennifer Hudson, Nick Jonas and Gwen Stefani. That is quite a stacked card, and I can’t wait to see what they’ve got planned.

Blake Shelton may not be returning to The Voice, but when Season 26 hits the 2024 TV schedule this fall, the Shelton family will still be represented on the coaches’ panel. Gwen Stefani is returning to coach for an eighth season, where she’ll be joined by Reba McEntire in the Queen of Country’s third-straight season. John Legend, Chance the Rapper and Dan + Shay, however, will take a step back for the next cycle, as two new coaches join the fray, and the choices for new mentors may make some of the show’s critics happy. 

Snoop Dogg And Michael Bublé To Join Gwen Stefani And Reba McEntire On The Voice Season 26 

The faces in the Big Red Chairs are going to be quite a bit different when Carson Daly starts welcoming new singers to the stage on The Voice this fall. After replacing Blake Shelton in Season 24, Reba McEntire will remain on the panel, but she’ll be the only holdover from the current season. Gwen Stefani, meanwhile, is coming back — a somewhat surprising development, given that it seemed all but inevitable she’d step away from the show after her husband left.

Reba McEntire has yet to notch a win on The Voice — although her team is still alive and thriving heading into the Live Semifinals — while Gwen Stefani won in Season 19 with Carter Rubin. The No Doubt singer last appeared on the show in Season 24.

That brings us to our rookies, Snoop Dogg and Michael Bublé, who each have previously appeared on the singing competition as a mentor. Snoop Dogg had some standout moments as the Season 20 Mega Mentor — and even got Blake Shelton to “Drop It Like It’s Hot.” Bublé, meanwhile, is coming back to The Voice for the first time since Season 3, when he served as Team Blake’s advisor in the Battles. 

The D-O-double G in particular is an interesting pick for mentor, as he seems to be the first Voice coach not known for his singing — a pretty vital skill on a show whose concept prioritizes vocal ability over physical appearances and other qualities. Even Chance the Rapper proved how well he can sing early in Season 25, when he stole an artist from John Legend by singing one of Legend’s hits. 

However, as the Mega Mentor, Snoop Dogg did help the artists tap into their storytelling abilities, so I’m definitely excited to see him lead a full team. Also, both he and Michael Bublé seem to address one of Season 25’s biggest criticisms.

There’s Only One Country Artist On The Voice Season 26 Coaching Panel 

The Voice has long been a friendly place for aspiring country music singers, in large part because of Blake Shelton and his success with artists on the show. So while it wasn’t a surprise that another country legend — Reba McEntire — was brought in as his replacement, some fans bristled at the addition of Dan + Shay, which meant that half of the panel (or more than half, if we’re nitpicking, because they’re a duo) was represented by a single genre of music.

With the addition of Michael Bublé and Snoop Dogg, Reba McEntire will have the country music genre all to herself, at least for Season 26.

The upcoming season of The Voice will definitely be one to watch, given the return of Gwen Stefani and the introduction of two new coaches, but first we’ve got to see who takes the Season 25 crown. Mothers and mother figures are worthy of celebration every day of the year, but especially on Mother’s Day it’s important to make sure they feel appreciated. We’re going to see a lot of social media posts over the next few days of flowers and other expressions of appreciation given or received this weekend, but it seems Blake Shelton won’t be among those gift-givers. The country music star recently explained why he doesn’t have to celebrate the mother of his three stepsons, and it’s actually the sweetest reason.

When it comes to showing Gwen Stefani love on Mother’s Day for all she does for Kingston, 17, Zuma, 15, and Apollo, 10, Blake Shelton said the boys don’t need his help. When asked how he was going to spoil his wife this Sunday, he told People: 

The fact that the three kids — who Gwen Stefani shares with ex-husband Gavin Rossdale — don’t even need to be reminded to do something special for their mom on Mother’s Day is honestly a gift in itself. You can tell how proud Blake Shelton is of his stepsons, too, as he explained that anytime he’s reminded them that Mother’s Day is coming up, they’ve already had plans in place.

Now, just because Blake Shelton doesn’t have to spoil his wife on Mother’s Day doesn’t mean he shouldn’t or won’t. The former coach of The Voice has made it very clear since he began his relationship with Gwen Stefani and married her in 2021 how much being a stepfather means to him, and I have no doubt he’ll remember to take appropriate action. But yet again, year-round action speaks louder than Mother’s Day words, and according to a source for OK! magazine, the No Doubt frontwoman gets so much happiness from the relationship between her husband and her sons. The insider said: 

The “God’s Country” singer has spoken about how much Kingston, Zuma and Apollo have taught him about himself, and he’s learned that in his role as a stepfather, he has to know when to get involved, when to step back and when to just be there for the kids. He said it’s true what they say about parenting — that it’s not about you anymore, it’s about their needs.

There’s no doubt that Gwen Stefani has been instrumental in those life lessons, too, and it’s great to know that whether from Blake Shelton or her three boys, she’ll get the appreciation she deserves on Mother’s Day. 

Blake Shelton has accomplished a lot so far in his life. He’s had a highly decorated country music career, served as a coach on The Voice for 23 seasons, produces Hallmark Christmas movies with his mother and has opened multiple locations of his bar Ole Red. However, it sounds like the thing that has possibly brought him the most gratification has been his role as stepfather to Gwen Stefani’s three sons. The singer has talked a lot about how Kingston, Zuma and Apollo have changed him, and he recently opened up about the lesson he had to learn “quickly.” 

Fans got to witness the relationship between Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani from the very beginning, as the two met on The Voice and their relationship developed in front of our very eyes. In 2021, they got married on his Oklahoma farm, and Shelton told ET that his three stepsons have changed him “in every possible way” since then. He divulged: 

Knowing his role within the family dynamic sounds like something Blake Shelton finds important about being a stepfather. He indicates that his needs and feelings aren’t the priority when it comes to the three kids Gwen Stefani shares with ex-husband Gavin Rossdale, and that was apparently something he had to learn when going from being a bachelor to dating a woman with three children.

His willingness to “step back” is something Blake Shelton has talked about before, as he said last year that he allows his own experiences with stepparents to inform how he approaches situations with Kingston, Zuma and Apollo. Late in 2023, he said he tries to “be careful about when to step in and be smart about when to step back,” and that the most important thing is that the boys know he’s there if they need him.

Having that responsibility of being someone his stepsons can lean on is something Blake Shelton hadn’t experienced before. He has said it gave him self-worth, but more like “the opposite of self-worth because you put yourself way down on the rung, and they move up ahead of you.”

There’s no doubt Blake Shelton takes being a stepdad seriously, and his attitude is likely one of the reasons Gavin Rossdale said he knows his sons are “loved and supported,” regardless of whose house they’re at. Gwen Stefani and Rossdale don’t co-parent, according to the Bush frontman, because they have such different parenting styles. That, however, gives his boys “an incredible perspective to then choose which pieces of those two lives they’d like to inherit and move on with.”

Parenting and step-parenting can be a tricky business, but it sounds like Gwen Stefani’s sons have three people who doing their best to put the kids’ needs first.

Gwen Stefani has shared some cute moments with her country music crooner of a husband Blake Shelton, but now that they have both exited The Voice, we don’t get to see their adorable interactions quite as often. Thankfully, the ‘90s ska queen still gives us peeks into their days on the farm via social media, and I can’t get over how happy she looks to be living that “Oklahoma life” with her cowboy.

The couple — who are set to celebrate their third anniversary in a few months — recently released a new single, “Purple Irises,” and that was the subject of (and soundtrack to) an Instagram post from Gwen Stefani, as she showed off her and Blake Shelton’s green thumbs. Check it out below: 

The video shows a camo-clad Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani (in a busy print of her own) planting, nurturing and ultimately picking their purple irises and other beautiful flowers to display in their home. 

I can kind of see the appeal of farm life, as the musical duo look oh-so-content with each other, driving around in Blake Shelton’s truck to do their gardening together. Gwen Stefani is as cute as ever, taking videos of the two of them, and the “Come Back as a Country Boy” singer looked quite pleased with their work, as he showed off a bouquet of yellow flowers at the end of the post.

The former coach of The Voice has treated his former colleagues to gifts of corn on the cob and peaches from the farm, so we knew Blake Shelton was finding ways to stay busy after leaving the singing competition following 11 years and 23 seasons. I’ve got a feeling the flowers became part of his repertoire after Gwen Stefani came into his life.

“Purple Irises” is the couple’s fifth collaboration (not including their multiple duet covers of each other’s music and other artists’ songs) after “Go Ahead and Break My Heart,” “You Make It Feel Like Christmas,” “Nobody But You” and “Happy Anywhere.”

While Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton’s relationship seems to be going strong 10 years after they first met on The Voice, the new single comes a year after rumors about unhappiness in their marriage began circulating. Sources alleged that they had been fighting more, and there were even claims that whether or not to do a reality show was the source of some of their tension.

However, there seems to be no proof to support these rumors, as Blake Shelton continues to gush over the best part of being married to Gwen Stefani and talk about how seriously he takes being a stepfather to her three sons.

Hopefully the duo are as happy as they seem to be while planting and nurturing their crops in Oklahoma, and fans would surely love to see more musical collaborations in addition to more adorable glimpses into their lives together.

With another season of The Voice crowning a winner, fans will be able to look forward to some more changes coming to the singing competition. Season 24 saw perhaps the biggest change yet, as it was the first season after longtime coach Blake Shelton left. Fellow country superstar Reba McEntire stepped up to the plate and proved to be a force. Gwen Stefani also returned to the coaches’ chairs, with her final artist being eliminated during the semifinals. Now, it seems she is taking a page out of her husband’s book.

Gwen Stefani previously opened up about how frustrating it was that Shelton left The Voice, and admitted that it was weird to be back with him gone. The singer has had seven seasons total on the series, and she will officially be taking what seems to be a permanent step back from coaching aspiring artists, according to She Finds. It was already announced that The Voice Season 25 coaches will consist of McEntire, John Legend, Chance the Rapper, and Dan + Shay, with the latter being the first coaching duo. While her exit isn’t so surprising, it was only just a matter of time after her hubby.

Even though Stefani is leaving The Voice, the reason does make sense. The singer told Entertainment Tonight her plans post-The Voice, noting she is ready to make her musical comeback in the new year. It will get fans excited, and it’s going to be worth the wait:

It is still going to be hard to watch The Voice without Shelton and now without Gwen Stefani. Of course, there have been plenty of coaches on The Voice throughout the show’s run, so a coach leaving is just inevitable. Stefani does want to work on new music, but the fact that her husband is no longer on the show probably also factored in to her leaving. There is always the hope she could return in some capacity on a future season as a mentor or advisor, but don’t expect her to be a coach again any time soon. 

Team Gwen did still get some help from Blake Shelton, in a way. Stefani admitted that while watching clips of her team’s rehearsals, Shelton couldn’t help but to take a peak and shared his excitement and support. They might not have been able to have the same playful banter on-screen that fans loved, but he definitely made sure to let his wife know that he would still be watching and cheering her on. 

Season 25 of The Voice is going to be a season to look forward to, as it will not only have a great coach lineup, but the country will be introduced to even more aspiring artists. Hopefully Stefani returns to the series later down the line, but for now, it sounds like she would much rather focus on her music, which is even better. The new season premieres on Monday, February 26 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC as part of the 2024 TV schedule.

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton have been one of the cutest couples in entertainment since their professional relationship as coaches on The Voice turned into something more. They met on the show in 2014, going public with their romance about a year later, and now — more than two years after they tied the knot in a small ceremony on their Oklahoma ranch — the cowboy seemingly still can’t believe that the No Doubt rocker agreed to spend her life with him.

Blake Shelton has made a name for himself in country music and TV as being a care-free, fun-loving country boy, and especially on The Voice, nobody escaped his antics, as he was even known to troll Gwen Stefani when they competed against each other. But just because he brings the jokes doesn’t mean he’s taking his situation for granted, and he opened up on TODAY about his marriage, saying: 

Wow, does that not sound like it came straight out of a love song? The “God’s Country” singer has always known how to lay on the charm when it comes to Gwen Stefani, and music is very much a part of that. In fact, after Carson Daly encouraged the couple to write their own wedding vows, Blake Shelton came up with the song “We Can Reach the Stars,” which the No Doubt singer has called the most romantic gift she’s ever received. 

The unlikely couple has definitely come a long way from their first meeting — back when Gwen Stefani thought Blake Shelton’s Southern twang was fake and the country singer only knew her as “the girl that holds the orange up in the video” (a reference to No Doubt’s Tragic Kingdom album). 

These days Blake Shelton is trying to focus more on family than career, stepping away from The Voice after 23 seasons to be able to spend more time at home — which is kind of funny, given that Gwen Stefani returned to the coaching panel for the most recent season, just as he left. 

His family consists of more than just her, though, as the country singer is now the stepdad to the three boys Stefani shares with Gavin Rossdale. Blake Shelton said he’s learned a lot from Kingston, Zuma and Apollo, and as for the role he plays as a stepfather, he said he’s careful not to overstep but is always there if they need him.

It seems like the Sheltons might finally get to spend some of that time off together, now that Season 24 of The Voice has wrapped. Gwen Stefani will not return to the Big Red Chairs for the next go-round, as the competition is introducing its first coaching duo, Dan + Shay, in Season 25. They’ll be joined by Reba McEntire and John Legend, as well as Chance the Rapper, who returns for his second effort.

That’s probably just how Blake Shelton wants it, because after all of his wins on The Voice, Gwen Stefani ended up being the prize he didn’t know was possible. 

“Baby Got Back” was a staple of ‘90s music, and it doesn’t matter what your preferred genre was, if you were around in 1992, you likely knew every word to the Sir Mix-a-Lot hit. Reba McEntire is no different, and she may be the queen of country music, but the newest coach on The Voice proved that she’s schooled in all things when she continually quoted a line from "Baby Got Back" on the show. A clip of McEntire shouting-out the rapper has gone viral on TikTok, showing the priceless reactions from Gwen Stefani, John Legend and Niall Horan.

A segment that aired on The Voice Season 24 finale — which saw Niall Horan’s singer Huntley crowned the champion — showed several clips of Reba McEntire using the phrase, “Oh my god Becky,” much to the amusement of her colleagues. See the TikTok video for yourself: 

That segment has been viewed over a million times, and it’s easy to see why. Niall Horan, who might get a pass on not immediately recognizing the lyric since he’s from Ireland and was not alive in ‘92, seemed confused at what Reba McEntire was even saying, asking, “Oh my god, what?” Gwen Stefani, who was very much part of the ‘90s music scene, also plead ignorance, musing: 

If she didn’t realize Reba was quoting Sir Mix-a-Lot, it’s probably because the “Fancy” singer doesn’t say the line like it’s said in the intro to the song. Reba McEntire tends to run all the words together, and to hear “Oh my god Becky” coming out of her mouth with that Oklahoma drawl, rap lyrics are really the last thing you’d think of.

John Legend has possibly the most hilarious reaction, as he seemed shocked that the 68-year-old icon would be quoting a rap song about large posteriors, marveling:

She definitely does seem to know. Reba McEntire cleared everything up herself by confirming that she plucked the saying straight from Sir Mix-a-Lot, telling The Voice cameras: 

It’s actually quite cute when she says it. 

The Voice may be over for now, but Reba McEntire will rejoin the panel for Season 25 in 2024, still looking for her first win after taking over for the now-retired Blake Shelton. This spring she’ll be joined by John Legend, Chance the Rapper and country/pop stars Dan + Shay, who will make their debut as the first-ever coaching duo. And you can bet I’ll be keeping an ear out for more “Oh my god Becky”s coming from the country queen’s chair.

In case you’d forgotten, Season 24 of The Voice marked the first time Blake Shelton was not on the coaching panel, and when the cowboy previously talked about passing the torch to Niall Horan, his newfound “son,” we all kind of thought it was a joke. However, it seems The Voice might actually have found its next super coach, as the One Direction alum notched his second win during Tuesday night’s finale, with Huntley being named the Season 24 champion.

Huntley blew the roof off the place in Monday’s performance finale, particularly with his episode-ending rendition of Creed’s “Higher,” and in the eyes of the voters, that was enough to put him past teammate Mara Justine; Reba McEntire’s Jacquie Roar and Ruby Leigh; and John Legend’s Lila Forde. Just before the winner was announced, Niall Horan had some final words for his artist, as he recalled all four coaches turning for Huntley in the Blind Auditions. Horan said:

Win or lose, the coach said, they were headed for a beer after the finale. With Huntley’s win, Niall Horan becomes the second of The Voice coaches (after Kelly Clarkson) to win their first two seasons, and he’s just the fourth mentor overall to notch multiple wins on The Voice, along with Blake Shelton, Clarkson and Adam Levine. 

With none of those three likely to make a return to The Voice anytime soon, if ever, has the former boy-bander set himself up to be the next juggernaut coach? Only time will tell, and we won’t get that answer right away anyway, with Horan sitting out Season 25.

The big announcement came after a night of wild performances that included a Barbie-inspired group number from the Top 12 and duets from each of the finalists with their coaches. Huntley and Niall Horan’s voices complemented each other perfectly on their cover of “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door,” before Jacquie Roar and Reba McEntire honored this season’s Mega Mentor Wynonna Judd with a rendition of “No One Else on Earth.”  

Mara Justine chose her mother’s favorite song, “Wasted Time” by the Eagles to sing with Niall Horan. Lila Forde and John Legend provided a jazzy, festive duet of “Sleigh Ride,” and Ruby Leigh closed things out with the queen of country, singing “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree,” where McEntire proved that even icons forget the lyrics sometimes.

The Season 24 finale also included performances from icons like Earth, Wind & Fire, who boogied to a medley of their greatest hits. Keith Urban crooned his hit song “Blue Ain’t Your Color,” while Teddy Swims sang his single “Lose Control.” 

Just as The Voice’s Top 5 represented artists of different genres, so too did the music superstars who performed Tuesday night, with R&B sensation Tyla singing “Water,” rockers AJR performing a medley of “Bang!” and “Yes I’m a Mess,” and pop-country duo Dan + Shay taking the stage with “Bigger Houses.”

Dan + Shay made an appearance on this season of The Voice, filling in for Niall Horan when his tour schedule conflicted with the show. The singers will return as the series’ first coaching duo in Season 25, and I can’t wait to see how that’s going to work. We even got a first look during the finale of the double red chair that will be placed alongside Reba McEntire, John Legend and Chance the Rapper when the show returns in 2024.

The Voice Season 24 artists have done all they can do, and it’s up to America’s vote now. After Gwen Stefani’s final singer was eliminated in the semifinals, John Legend, Niall Horan and Reba McEntire watched their team members perform two songs apiece on Monday night — a ballad and an up-tempo song — to make one last attempt to win the audience members’ single vote. So based on those performances, which contestant should take the crown?

It’s definitely not an easy decision that America has to make, with all five finalists showing immense talent throughout the season. For the first time in The Voice history, every artist in the finale earned a Four-Chair Turn in the Blind Auditions, so it certainly could go in any direction. Let’s take a look at what each artist brought to the final night of competition, and which one I think should win. (The artists are listed in the order they appeared in the episode.) 

Jacquie Roar (Team Reba) 

Jacquie Roar opened the finale by singing Boston’s “More Than a Feeling,” and she definitely gave it everything she had. Reba McEntire’s singer put her rocker edge on the classic and worked hard to deliver some huge notes at the end, prompting her coach to comment: “You know how they say ‘Go big or go home’? Girl, you went big.” She didn’t stop there, as her second performance of “Nights in White Satin” was moody indeed, wrapped in her signature wails. 

Lila Forde (Team Legend) 

Lila Forde’s uniqueness has been a strength for her all season, and in the finale especially, the coaches highlighted her “strange and beautiful” take on the songs. After putting her spin on “The Weight” — which caused her coach John Legend to comment on the individuality, authenticity and musicality she brings to every performance — she sang a haunting version of The Beatles’ “Across the Universe.” Niall Horan noted how special it was “in a competition full of acrobats” that she remained unapologetically herself. 

Mara Justine (Team Niall)

Mara Justine seemed determined to leave The Voice with no regrets, first taking on Adele before absolutely embodying Janis Joplin. John Legend — who admitted he was upset he allowed her to be stolen by Niall Horan — loved the gentle rasp she added to “Turning Tables.” Then, during “Piece of My Heart,” she absolutely owned the stage, despite being the shortest person up there amidst what looked like 25 dancers. Even Carson Daly commented that it felt like we’d left the finale to attend a Mara Justine concert. 

Huntley (Team Niall)

The sole male singer left in the competition, Huntley impressed his coach Niall Horan by being able to contain his emotions to show America another side to his voice with “Another Love” by Tom Odell. Huntley also had the honor of closing out the show, taking on Creed’s “Higher,” in a show-stopping performance that fit his vocal abilities like a glove. John Legend commented that he doesn’t understand how Huntley isn’t already playing arenas, calling him a “rock ‘n’ roll creature.” 

Ruby Leigh (Team Reba)

While it does tend to get old hearing the judges marvel at the fact that Ruby Leigh is only 16 years old, that doesn’t make it any less astonishing. The Team Reba put a bluegrass twist on Elvis’ “Suspicious Minds,” drawing praise from her coach for making it her own (and also for descending a staircase in the fog while singing). Then she channeled emotions far beyond her years for “Desperado,” which included just enough of her signature yodel to remind us whose show this was. 

Who Should Win The Voice Season 24? Mara Justine 

This one is hard to predict, not just because of the caliber of talent but because the Top 5 artists are all so unique, showing off different strengths in different genres. A competition like this, though, favors a powerhouse singer, and I think Mara Justine deserves to bring it home after providing the perfect marriage of passion and execution.

We don’t have long to wait to find out if my prediction is correct. Voting is open until 7 a.m. ET Tuesday, and the winner will be crowned that night at the end of a star-studded finale that will feature performances from Earth, Wind & Fire, Keith Urban, AJR, Jelly Roll, Tyla and Dan + Shay. Each finalist will also perform a duet with their coach. If any time of year makes people stick to old family traditions, it’s the holidays. While we all love some Christmas ham, homemade baked macaroni and cheese, and sweet potato pie, it’s also not unusual for folks to want to try something different, especially as they start or expand their own families. It turns out that Gwen Stefani (who's currently coaching on Season 24 of The Voice) and her country music superstar husband, Blake Shelton (who’s the winningest coach in The Voice’s history), have started a cool Christmas tradition that I’m certainly game to try.

What Is Blake Shelton And Gwen Stefani’s Christmas Tradition?

Anyone who follows Gwen Stefani on Instagram knows that the woman loves to update fans on her life and work. She’s no stranger to posting about their family hangouts, especially during the holidays, but during a recent chat with Entertainment Tonight, the “Hollaback Girl” singer opened up about the tradition she and her husband of a little over two years have started, and it sounds pretty tasty:

Let’s see. Lasagna, but covered in bread or pasta and mounded up before you cook it? I don’t know about you, but I say TAKE ME TO THE PASTADOME! Now, seeing as how most people don’t eat their lasagna (or any other type of pasta) assembled in such a way, it might be hard for you to imagine how this even looks or how one would eat such a thing. Stefani explained that it’s an Italian dish, and you can actually see an example of a Timpano Dome in a very good movie from 1996, Big Night. However, Ms. Stefani did, in fact post an Instagram story video of their creation last year:

Awww! Isn’t it adorable? Though the fashionable singer (who no longer has any artists in The Voice competition) admitted their version of the Timpano might lead some Italians to “get mad” because it’s traditional to wrap it in pasta, I bet most of us can hardly be upset by the fact that they “started doing a pizza dough because it tastes yummy.” If that was just a bit more brown on top, I’d be ready to dig into that right now. Well, if it were more brown and in the vicinity of my actual person.

I’m all for attempting new dishes, particularly during the holidays. Even though this would likely take more effort than my trusty mac-n-cheese, it just might be worth a shot this year.

Spoiler alert! This story reveals the five artists who advanced to The Voice Season 24 finale in the December 12 results show.

The finale is set for Season 24 of The Voice. Four artists were voted through and a fifth advanced via Instant Save after some amazing Semifinal performances the night before — including three Taylor Swift trios — setting up a big two nights of music coming next week. The reveal of this season’s finalists, however, marked the end of the road for Gwen Stefani’s team, as her last remaining artist was eliminated, and she took to social media following the taping to (jokingly) question the results of America’s vote.

Country singer Bias’ journey came to an end during the December 12 results show, after performing “Go Rest High on That Mountain” in hopes of winning America’s Instant Save. That didn’t happen, and as Gwen Stefani found herself with no team members left going into the performance finale, she had a message for the fans. In a video on Instagram Stories, she said: 

It sounds like the Tennessee singer has scored himself an invitation to Oklahoma, possibly to play at Blake Shelton’s bar Ole Red, which is located in Tishomingo. Speaking of the former Voice coach, I sure hope he voted for Team Gwen’s singer, because she seemed out for blood in a short video she posted to Stories right after the other, dramatically shouting: 

Whether she wanted to double-check the results of the overnight vote or the Instant Save (or both) was unclear, but it was obvious that she was just kidding, as she couldn’t even feign fury without cracking a smile. 

Gwen Stefani’s team looked like it might be in trouble from the beginning of the live shows, but her artist wasn’t the only one sent home Tuesday night. In fact, each coach lost one singer, with Niall Horan’s Nini Iris; Reba McEntire’s Jordan Rainer and John Legend’s Mac Royals all saying goodbye.

That means that the Top 5 contestants who will compete in the star-studded Season 24 finale are: Mara Justine and Huntley from Team Niall; Jacquie Roar and Ruby Leigh from Team Reba; and Lila Forde from Team Legend. 

What an impressive two nights it’s going to be! NBC announced its plans for the Season 24 finale, and in addition to the finalists performing solo, with their coaches and as part of a Top 12 group number, Monday’s performance finale will see the return of Season 22 winner Bryce Leatherwood. The celebration continues Tuesday with appearances by Earth, Wind & Fire, Keith Urban, AJR, Jelly Roll, Tyla and Dan + Shay. 

Tune into NBC at 8 p.m. ET Monday, December 18, and at 9 p.m. ET Tuesday, December 19, to see the conclusion of The Voice’s 24th season. Episodes are available to stream the next day with a Peacock subscription. 

Taylor Swift seems to be everywhere these days, from the movie theater with her record-breaking concert film Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, to Kansas City Chiefs games in support of boyfriend Travis Kelce, to being honored with a night of her music on Dancing with the Stars. For The Voice Season 24 Semifinals, the Top 9 artists got in on the fun too, with the remaining contestants breaking into trios to put their own spin on a few of the music icon’s tunes. So after another night of fierce competition, who represented the artist best? Let’s take a look. 

Huntley, Mac Royals and Lila Forde: Exile 

The first performance of the night came from John Legend’s two remaining artists — Mac Royals and Lila Forde — and Niall Horan’s Huntley, singing the folklore favorite “Exile.” The three each opened with a small solo before their voices came together in haunting harmony. It’s kind of amazing how three such unique voices from singers of different genres can gel so beautifully, and fans seemed to like what they were hearing. Some comments from X included:

Jacquie Roar, Mara Justine and Nini Iris: Don’t Blame Me 

The next trio comprised Season 24’s powerhouse singers — Mara Justine and Nini Iris of Niall Horan’s team and Reba McEntire’s Jacquie Roar — appropriately visiting the Reputation era with “Don’t Blame Me.” Iris was the recipient of the big note that Taylor Swift hits near the end of the song, but all three had plenty of opportunity to belt out their own runs. This was my personal favorite of the three, and fans seemed to love the energy this trio brought, commenting on social media:

Bias, Jordan Rainer and Ruby Leigh: Mean (Taylor’s Version) 

It felt appropriate that the final trio, which featured Gwen Stefani’s lone remaining team member Bias singing with Team Reba’s Jordan Rainer and Ruby Leigh, leaned more toward Taylor Swift’s country roots with “Mean (Taylor’s Version).” Their voices sounded so natural together, with Rainer picking at a banjo alongside the other two strumming guitars to enhance the bluegrass feel of the Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) hit. Some viewers were surprised how well it came together, commenting:

It was a good night to be a Swiftie if you were watching The Voice, but which artists impressed America to win over the voters? In addition to their Taylor Swift trios, the Top 9 also gave a solo performance with a song picked by fans before voting was opened up. 

Viewers have until 7 a.m. ET Tuesday, December 12, to cast their votes, but unfortunately we get just one vote (per email, per voting method), so tough choices must be made. Tune in at 9 p.m. ET Tuesday to see the results, where we’ll learn which five Season 24 artists will advance to next week’s finale. This may be the first season of The Voice that doesn’t feature Blake Shelton on its panel of superstar coaches, but the cowboy’s spirit has definitely lingered. In addition to his wife Gwen Stefani returning to the show, former Team Blake adviser Reba McEntire was chosen as his replacement, and Niall Horan — who formed an adorable father-son bond with the country singer last season — is also back for Season 24. Even with all that it seems that Shelton is still more involved this season than we may have realized.

Gwen Stefani and the rest of the coaches have made sure we don’t forget about Blake Shelton with constant references and jokes at the country singer’s expense. However, she spoke with ET about her team, and it sounds like Team Gwen may be getting a little bit of extra help from the winningest coach in The Voice’s history. Stefani divulged: 

Blake Shelton apparently has been watching the tapes from his wife’s team’s rehearsals, and it’s not too far out there to think Gwen Stefani might also be asking his advice on strategy, or at least getting his opinion on things like song choice. In addition to that, it sounds like the country singer might be casting his vote for Team Gwen as well. 

On one hand it’s not surprising to think that Blake Shelton would vote for his wife’s singers, but given how much of an impact he had on the show over its first 23 seasons, there’s just something that feels wrong about him throwing support behind one specific coach. But they’re married for god sakes, what are you gonna do?

If Blake Shelton did cast his vote for Team Gwen in Season 24’s first live show, he may have had a tough decision to make. Viewers are limited to just one vote (per email address, per voting method) this season, which many fans — including myself — find frustrating on a season with so much talent.

I was concerned about Gwen Stefani’s team going into the Top 12 performances, and it turns out my suspicions were right. Unlike Reba McEntire, Niall Horan and John Legend’s teams, Team Gwen boasted no Four-Chair Turns, and at the end of the Top 12 results show, two of the No Doubt singers were sent home, leaving her with just country singer Bias going into the Semifinals. At least Blake Shelton won’t have to think too hard about who to throw his support behind when he votes next week.

We’ll have to see what happens and if Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani’s possible combined forces can help Bias through to the live finale. The Top 9 will perform when The Voice returns to NBC at 8 p.m. ET Monday, December 11, with the results of America’s vote being announced at 9 p.m. ET Tuesday, December 12.
