Throughout America’s Got Talent’s 21-season run, the talent competition series has seen judges and hosts come and go. No one has been on the series as long as it’s been on. The show, however, has been somewhat consistent in recent years in both categories, with last yar's Season 20 marking the first change in judges since Season 15. Heidi Klum left AGT ahead of the milestone season, and that exit is continuing with the upcoming 21^st season, airing on Tuesday on the 2026 TV schedule. But why exactly did she leave?

The Queen of Halloween initially joined AGT in Season 8 alongside Mel B in 2013. She left after Season 13, but was brought back in Season 15 and stayed on until Season 19. In February 2025, Deadline reported that Klum would not be returning for Season 20 of AGT. News came not long after it was announced that she would be returning to Project Runway, eight years after she stepped down.

Almost the entirety of Klum’s initial run on AGT was when she was on Project Runway, but it still couldn’t have been easy going back and forth. On top of both shows, Klum has also been hosting and executive producing Germany’s Next Top Model since 2006, so that’s even more work to do. It’s unclear why Klum departed from AGT, but sources say it may have been a business decision due to her high salary. In a statement, an AGT production rep said:

Along with the original AGT, Klum was also a judge on AGT spinoffs The Champions, All-Stars, and Fantasy League. Whether she’ll return for any future spinoffs remains to be seen, but luckily the series didn’t have a hard time finding a replacement. Former Spice Girl Mel B returned to AGT with Season 20 and, like Klum, was a judge from Seasons 8-13.

As for Project Runway, the fashion competition series made its official comeback in July 2025 after a six-year hiatus, premiering on Freeform, Disney+, and Hulu. Klum was once again the head judge, joined by returning judge Colombian fashion journalist Nina García and celebrity stylist and Project Runway newcomer Law Roach. Fashion designer Christian Siriano came back as a mentor, with Michael Kors returning as a guest judge. The show’s longtime mentor, Tim Gunn, who departed Project Runway in 2018 along with Klum, did not return.

While Klum will not be appearing on Season 21 of America’s Got Talent, the show is in good hands. Terry Crews is returning as the host, with Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Vergara, and Mel B returning as judges. The new season premieres on Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET on NBC, streaming the next day with a Peacock subscription.

“Costume Art” was the theme of the 2026 Met Gala, with the biggest names in celebrity fashion putting their spin on the “Fashion Is Art” dress code. For a lot of the attendees walking the carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday, that meant the naked dress, as Kendall and Kylie Jenner freed the (faux) nipple, while Kim Kardashian, Hailey Bieber and more stunned in sculpted breastplates.

As many predicted, Kylie Jenner attended the Met Gala solo, while boyfriend Timothée Chalamet was preoccupied with the NBA playoffs, and she straight-up dropped jaws in a Schiaparelli dress that appeared to be falling off, exposing a nude corset beneath:

Kylie Jenner's skirt featured more than 2,000 sating stitching balls, Who What Wear reports, as well as 10,000 natural baroque pearls and more than 7,000 painted pearlescent fish scales. Its creation sounds truly laborous, with the embroidery alone reportedly taking 11,000 hours.

A chunky antique silver necklace adorned with rhinestones, pearls and sculpted bird heads served as quite the statement piece, along with matching earrings.

Like her little sister, Kendall Jenner also dressed as if caught in an “oops” moment, wearing a GapStudio look designed by Zac Posen with a corset underneath — a 3D scan of Kendall's body was made to ensure a perfect fit — with a faux breast falling out of the dress that would make sister Kim Kardashian’s SKIMS nipple bra proud.

Speaking of Kim Kardashian, she took the exposed nipple look in a different direction, donning a high-necked sculpted bronze breastplate, which she paired with a leather skirt left open in the front, giving it the feel of a cape. She worked with artist Allen Jones, designer duo Whitaker Malem for fashion’s biggest night — where she also debuted a new blonde blowout:

The Kardashian-Jenner family members were far from the only attendees playing to the naked theme. In fact, Hailey Bieber attended the Met Gala in a sculpted breastplate of her own, looking like a full Greek goddess in custom Saint Laurent. Justin Bieber’s wife went bold in a 24-karat gold sculpted bodice, which she paired with a gorgeous blue silk chiffon skirt and matching scarf:

However, when it came to portraying living, breathing sculptures, perhaps no one went as hard (or as literal) as Heidi Klum, who was unrecognizable as she paid homage to Raffaelle Monti’s 1847 sculpture the Veiled Vestal by transforming into it:

We know how seriously Heidi Klum takes her costumes (we all remember the Halloween when she was a worm, right?), and she made sure every inch of her body was monochromatic, adding gray contact lenses and painting her hands, feet and face — including her teeth.

The "Costume Art" theme proved to be quite the night for those inspired by the human body and the connection between art and fashion.

Heidi Klum may not be joining your 2025 TV schedule with America's Got Talent anymore. But, she’ll be returning to Project Runway as one of the new judges along with Law Roach. While Klum is making headlines for her fashion comeback, she also drew attention for a lingerie photoshoot with her daughter, reflecting on the eyebrow-raising experience and promoting body positivity.

The successful television personality has been a model since she appeared on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue in 1998. But it looks like Heidi Klum isn’t the only one in her family who can strike a pose. In 2023, she and her 21-year-old daughter Leni modeled for Intimissimi lingerie. Looking back during her interview with People, Klum got real about the controversy that surrounded the mother-daughter photoshoot:

I agree with Heidi Klum that no one should be judging her and her daughter for their Intimissimi photoshoot. As Leni Klum is not a minor and has been a model since she was 16, I see the glaring message of modeling running well in the family and a shared confidence in their bodies. It’s generational empowerment at its best, with the age gaps of two model types being represented. And who better to share a photo with than your mother, right?

Body confidence is always an important lesson to teach your children. Lizzo and many other celebrities have contributed to the body-positive movement, promoting beauty in different shapes and sizes. So why not Heidi Klum? But even though the Emmy-nominee has imparted plenty of parenting philosophies on her kids, Klum expressed her share of worries she still has as a mother:

I think it's understandable to worry about the state of your health and your kids as time goes on. Parents always want their kids to live their best lives and in good health. All you can do is take everything day by day and hope for the best in everyone.

Back in 2023, Heidi Klum went topless while spending Easter by the pool and posed a nude photo of herself looking out the window of her Paris hotel. You also couldn’t forget last year when the former Victoria’s Secret model got some R&R at the beach in a sexy bikini.

With each bold post of hers, Heidi Klum proves that body confidence does not come with an expiration date. Her kids can learn well from their mother about aging with grace and never letting their body confidence hide away.

Eyebrows were raised when Heidi Klum posed with her daughter in a lingerie photoshoot, but the poised model doesn’t seem to care. Instead, she saw that photo-op as a way to inspire body positivity in her children and that loving yourself can be embraced at any age.

I don’t know if anyone would’ve guessed before the start of the millennium that Heidi Klum would become the Hollywood queen of Halloween. (To be fair, many of us were likely concerned about whether something akin to the upcoming Y2K movie would bring about our demise.) Since then, she and her parties have continued to be a cornerstone of the spooky season for A-listers. Now, Klum is opening up about why she puts so much effort into her fits.

Heidi Klum, an all-around force, and trendsetter of current and nostalgic fads, started modeling, then expanded into film and TV, entrepreneurial spheres and many other creative endeavors, to name just a few. As a Halloween maven, she's also dressed as a worm, a mock-up of the human body and more. During an interview, Klum shared with People that her fans are a major reason why she does what she does:

With that as the reason, the viral worm costume makes even more sense. It’s also no surprise that Heidi Klum’s world involves a lot of creatives—many of whom get to have that extra freedom during the Halloween season. It goes without saying that Klum's one-of-a-kind costumes are sights to behold, and her efforts are greatly appreciated.

When not in costume, the beloved media personality, as mentioned, is busy in the entertainment fashion, and various business fields and always looking to push her career forward. For instance, she recently launched Modelverse, an interactive fashion experience for the very popular game Roblox.

Of course, with spooky season now upon us, fans will now be eager to see what Heidi Klum does for Halloween this year. She teased to people that molds and prosthetics were being made and that she'd had fittings. So this could be something weird and conceptual, an unexpected animal or insect, or something more humorous and pop culture-forward. It's really hard to say, for sure. Whatever it may be, expert to go all out with something that rivals her past peacock, Princess Fiona or Jessica Rabbit costumes.

The end is nigh for America's Got Talent Season 19 in the 2024 TV schedule, with only the finale results episode left. As usual for a night of finale performances, AGT packed in plenty of filler segments for the time between contestants taking the stage. This time around, St. Denis Medical actor David Alan Grier dropped by the set to join forces with Howie Mandel for a prank on the other three judges. The prank allowed Heidi Klum to show off her supermodel roots, while Simon Cowell quickly started running low on patience.

The prank involved David Alan Grier visiting AGT to claim that he was interested in trying out directing, so he was going to direct the judges in some promos for local news stations. Grier confessed to camera that the goal was to "annoy the hell out of these judges," but the blame should really be cast at Howie Mandel. The promos grew increasingly ridiculous as time went on, with Sofia Vergara and Heidi Klum hiding their frustration a bit better than Simon Cowell, who was done with the props pretty early on. In fairness to Simon Cowell, it appears that the judges were recruited to film a whole lot of promos right after the end of last week's episode of AGT. Every person has to have their limit; for Simon Cowell filming promos, that limit is apparently wearing goofy sunglasses. Since AGT is currently in its stage of live shows, filming the promos after the last episode presumably meant the four were sitting in those chairs and being handed silly props in a noisy room for quite some time. Sofia Vergara showed off her ability to keep a straight face while delivering lines in a way that I have to imagine she mastered on Modern Family, but I got my biggest kick out of Heidi Klum striking a pose while the massive fans started blowing for the fake Windy City promo.

Even if I hadn't known that Klum was a supermodel long before she was an AGT judge or part of many of her other ventures, her striking that pose while the fan basically blew Sofia Vergara and Simon Cowell out of frame would have been proof enough.

Though Klum showing off her modeling skills while her fellow judges stumbled out of frame was my favorite part of the prank video, I had to laugh at the look on Simon Cowell's face after the big reveal. He handled it with grace, but I'd say that he still didn't look particularly amused. Take a look:

That is the face of a man trying to be a good sport while he's live on national TV, if you ask me! I can't say that I blame him – unwittingly filming those promos for a prank looks like a chore, and we can't all look as composed and glam as Heidi Klum when being blasted in the face by a fan.

Of course, most of this episode of AGT was about the performances of the last contestants standing, who are closer than ever to winning the grand prize of $1 million. I'd say that there really wasn't a dud all evening, to the point that I really can't pick a frontrunner.

It was fun to see Richard Goodall's reaction to learning that he'd be performing "Faithfully" alongside a member of Journey after he dazzled in his audition with "Don't Stop Believin.'" That said, Dee Dee Simon proved that he's not the only singer still in the fight for the victory.

The two singers have been two of my favorites this season, but I find myself rooting in particular for quick change magician Solange Kardinaly and comedian Learnmore Jonasi. Neither a magician specializing in quick change nor a standup comic has ever won AGT before, and that would be an entertaining way to end Season 19.

The competition is stiffer than ever on America's Got Talent Season 19, as the contestants have to perform live with their fates in the hands of voters... unless they're a contestant lucky enough to win a golden buzzer, anyway! After changes in golden buzzer rules this season courtesy of Simon Cowell, the judges each have one to hit in the quarterfinals stage, and Heidi Klum was in the hot seat in the latest episode. She hit the buzzer for singer Dee Dee Simon after a spectacular live performance of Teddy Swims' "Lose Control," and Simon's reaction reminded me of what she told CinemaBlend about not getting a golden buzzer following her audition.

As AGT fans may remember from back in June, Dee Dee Simon made an impression with her audition not just because she crushed her performance of "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going" from Dreamgirls, but also because she was so caught up in the emotion of the song that she kicked off her heels. She told CinemaBlend at the time that it was a spontaneous move, and she brought it back for her quarterfinals performance. Simon also addressed the challenges of singing on AGT when there's no saying what voters are interested in each season.

When we spoke earlier this summer, I noted to Dee Dee Simon that I'd seen a lot of commenters online who thought that she should have received a golden buzzer for her audition. With no way of knowing that she would in fact get a buzzer by the end of August, Simon responded at the time:

Fast-forward two months from that interview, and Dee Dee Simon would indeed have her moment and get to hug Heidi Klum after hitting the golden buzzer for her! Fittingly, just as Simon kicked off her shoes for the quarterfinals like she did in the audition, Howie Mandel took off his own shoes in a show of support and Klum kicked hers off as well before climbing on stage to congratulate the prison nurse-turned-singer.

Back in June, Dee Dee Simon continued sharing her thoughts on the dream of getting a golden buzzer:

I think it's safe to say that she got a big boost after her live quarterfinals performance! In addition to the golden buzzer from Heidi Klum and the shoe removal from Howie Mandel, Simon Cowell told her that he thinks she's "given yourself a shot of winning the whole competition" and Sofia Vergara said that she "loved this performance even better" than her audition.

The buzzer means that Dee Dee Simon could celebrate her performance without worrying about the results episode that would air within just 24 hours of taking the stage, which isn't the case for all the other performers from the third round of quarterfinals. She joins Hakuna Matata Acrobats and AIRFOOTWORKS in having a guaranteed slot in the final, after they received previous quarterfinal golden buzzers.

Heidi Klum is certainly one of the most fashionable judges on the America's Got Talent panel and in the realm of celebrity fashion in general. (I'm sure the less fashion-oriented Simon Cowell would agree.) She doesn't just throw on sweatpants when she's off the reality TV stage, either, as she recently spent some downtime from the show relaxing at the beach. She may be a popular celebrity, but there's one thing about her bikini beach look that should be totally relatable.

One of the coolest things to come out in the realm of fashion over the past several years is probably the fact that swimwear is way less standardized than it used to be. I’ve seen bikini variations in more styles, colors and prints – with some that even have puff sleeves or belts – that give ladies of different body types more options.

Unfortunately, it also leads to one big concern Heidi Klum just brought up in her recent vacation post: tan lines.

For now, she's currently in rest and relaxation mode, and the animal print look that Ms. Klum, 51, was sporting is not a 'fit for the faint of heart. To her point, with its multiple straps at the hips and around her upper half, if she got any sun at all clearly it would be trouble to cover up later.

Maybe that seems like a silly worry? We all get tan lines while standing in lines at theme parks or playing sports or going to the beach or whatever. But I truly do feel like when you are on TV you then spend an inordinate time trying to make sure your makeup is noticeable but not too over the top, you are avoiding any wardrobe malfunctions, and so on and so forth. Having to worry about tan lines is just one more thing on top of that.

The good news is that Heidi Klum is in good company when it comes to these swimwear problems. Sydney Sweeney rocked a cute look in a hammock earlier this summer with a cover up that probably led to tan lines. And Kim Kardashian brought back the Y2K belly chain which almost certainly also led her to dreaded sun lines.

Hey--if she wants to rock the cute look but avoid any lines later, she can always pull an Emily Ratajkowski and wear a bikini in the movie theater. We'll see her back, tan lines or no, when AGT returns to the 2024 TV schedule on August 13.

Sofía Vergara was really telling the truth when she talked about the past year bringing both bad things and good things. After announcing last July that her seven-year marriage to Joe Manganiello was ending, the Modern Family alum has found love again. What’s more, it seems orthopedic surgeon Justin Saliman has won the approval of at least one of Vergara’s America’s Got Talent co-hosts. Heidi Klum opened up about her friend’s new romance, calling Saliman “such a sweetheart.”

Heidi Klum told ET that she recently attended a party for Sofía Vergara to celebrate the actress’ 52nd birthday. After eating some reportedly delicious cake and taking photos with the birthday girl and her doctor boyfriend, Klum explained why Justin Saliman might have been the reason that the party had to end somewhat early. She said: 

Well I suppose the surgeon had a pretty good excuse for not hosting a full-on rager for Sofía Vergara, and it sounds like Heidi Klum and the other guests were more than happy to accommodate him. In fact, the supermodel had nothing but nice things to say about Justin Saliman, particularly because of how happy Vergara is with her new partner. Klum continued: 

I guess this means that their fellow America’s Got Talent judge Howie Mandel can stand down from being Sofía Vergara’s matchmaker. A month after the Griselda star announced her split from Joe Manganiello, Mandel joked on AGT that Vergara was “in the market” for a new man. Some people thought it was too soon for the Deal or No Deal host to involve himself in that way, but Vergara seemed to be highly amused, laughing as she raised her arms proudly.

Sofía Vergara has definitely shown a sense of humor during what had to have been a difficult divorce. When discussing her tattoos during an interview on The Talk, she joked that the “J” she’d gotten inked on her wrist for Joe Manganiello had been “recycled” and now was for Justin Saliman.

Divorces are not easy things to go through, but in this case it sounds like both parties have come out happy on the other side. Joe Manganiello, for his part, has moved on as well, going public with girlfriend Caitlin O’Connor in February.

When it comes to delivering awe-inspiring performances and shocking feats of astonishment, America’s Got Talent is the king of the castle, and creator Simon Cowell showed off his Midas Touch once more in bringing a second Golden Buzzer into the competition for Season 19. The NBC hit premiere, which featured quite the stressful dance routine, understandably didn’t need to utilize the new change just yet, but all the judges seem highly enthused about AGT’s continued evolution.

Ahead of the 19th season’s debut, the America’s Got Talent squad spoke with Entertainment Tonight about giving auditioning hopefuls a few extra shots at stardom with five additional Golden Buzzers in the running for the remaining weeks of tryouts. As it goes with the ones that were already in place, a Golden Buzzer allows one of the judges to automatically advance an act into the next round of competition, despite what anyone else thinks.

Simon Cowell explained what sparked the idea to bring more of that fan-favorite into the show’s future.

Indeed, every season of AGT auditions features at least one or two acts (if not more) that defy all forms of logic and expectation. And there are no doubt times when one of those offbeat acts could have gone farther in the competition if the judges had more Golden Buzzers to hand out. Which is definitely a reason why Cowell's co-stars are pumped about the addition.

Heidi Klum

Heidi Klum didn't even make it out of the Season 19 premiere without using up her first Golden Buzzer. She gave it to middle school teacher Richard Goodall for his show-stopper performance of Journey's karaoke fave "Don't Stop Believin'." So it's understandable why she's pumped about the new addition. In her words:

The question now is how long it'll be before she hands out that second Buzzer, perhaps followed by light suggestions for Simon Cowell to introduced a third Golden Buzzer in Season 20. Maybe she'll wait a few years.

Terry Crews

Not that Klum was the only AGT star to go the Golden Buzzer route in the first episode of auditions. Stand-up comedian Learnmore Jonasi took the stage, revealing he traveled to the show all the way from Zimbabwe, and that he also happens to be a mega-fan of Terry Crews, who wound up guaranteeing Jonasi's placement in the next round of the competition. And Crews spoke to the extra Golden Buzzer's importance on a show with such a wide variety of acts.

Perhaps whoever takes the stage in the second episode should also voice their extreme fandom for the Brooklyn Nine-Nine vet, as a way to try and secure his second Buzzer. Or maybe something less devious.

Sofia Vergara

Sofia Vergara, who returned to the franchise after stepping away for the Fantasy League spinoff didn't give out any of her Golden Buzzers on night one. But she definitely joined her co-judges in approving a decent-sized number of acts, such as Taiwanese magician Sam Huang (who seemingly pulled his fingers off of his own hand while standing in front of Vergara). When it comes to the extra Buzzer, Vergara was initially nonplussed, but came around once she realized that it wouldn't actually water things down. As she put it:

I can see why adding five new guarantees to the auditions might seem as if it would take away some importance from the Golden Buzzers that were already in place. But in this case, it just means the judges get to play favorites a few more times, giving lifelines to a few more acts that likely would have gone home extremely disappointed otherwise.

Howie Mandel

I'm pretty sure if America's Got Talent took its next season to space, or required all acts to be animal-related, Howie Mandel would have the same kind of "alright, let's do this!" attitude about it. So it's perhaps predictable that the stand-up comedian was just as positive-minded about additional buzzers, recalling how excited he was whenever the show first introduced the Golden Buzzer element.

Like Vergara and Cowell, Howie Mandel didn't reward any of the opening night acts with a Golden Buzzer, but there are plenty of auditions yet to come going into Summer 2024. That said, Cowell previously teased that more Golden Buzzers were issued out in the first two episodes than any comparable stretches in the past. Season 18's winner wasn't a buzzer recipient, but that could very easily change with the new season.

Season 19 of America's Got Talent is officially in swing, with Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, Sofia Vergara, and Simon Cowell back behind the judges' table and Terry Crews manning the microphone as host. AGT wasted no time in delivering some standout performers in the 2024 TV schedule, including two golden buzzers courtesy of Crews and Klum as well as a ballerina whose act had me stressed out in the truly fun way that only this show can deliver.

And since I went back and rewatched parts of the ballerina's performance during a commercial break, I think I might need to next fully rewatch the comedian who won the golden buzzer from Terry Crews and the singer who went full Journey for Heidi Klum's buzzer for some less suspenseful fun! First things first, though...

Ballerina Ashlee Montague

Ashlee Montague had a point in her arrival on AGT that there aren't too many ballet acts that make it to the stage, leading Simon Cowell to mention to Sofia Vergara that he hates ballet. The style certainly isn't typical of the acrobatics, danger, and speed of most AGT dance acts that the famously blunt judge seems to generally enjoy. He changed his tune once Montague went en pointe up high on a platform and began to slowly and not entirely surely balance her way across a series of glass bottles.

Unlike Simon Cowell, I love ballet, but I knew this a stressful act as soon as I found myself checking the stage to see if there were any nice large and fluffy mats for her in case she fell. There were not, so I was as relieved as the judges when she successfully toed her way across the bottles. I've watched the end more than once, and I'm still not entirely sure how she defied physics to step off the bottles without falling!

And honestly, I found myself hoping that Simon Cowell would hit the golden buzzer for her, just because he went from saying that he doesn't like ballet to being so impressed that he went up and checked the platform and bottles himself to see just how incredible Montague's performance was.

But even though he didn't drop the golden confetti for Ashlee Montague, two others did hit the buzzer before the end of the premiere for some performances that were less heart-pounding and more heartwarming.

Comedian Learnmore Jonasi

Terry Crews was the first member of the AGT team to hit the golden buzzer for Season 19, and he couldn't have found a funnier man to get the honor. Learnmore Jonasi came all the way from Zimbabwe to perform his standup, which was not an easy path that involved long journeys to get just five minutes of experience on stage. He also shouted out being a fan of Crews even before he knew the good news he'd be getting, thanks to Crews' role in White Chicks as one of his many movies and TV shows.

And Jonasi found a way to combine jokes about his home in Zimbabwe with jokes about life in the United States, which were a huge hit with the judges as well as the audience. In fact, by the end, it was no surprise that he won a golden buzzer; the biggest question was really who would be the one to hit it.

It's fitting that it was Terry Crews since Jonasi was already such a huge fan, but I hope he heard Simon Cowell say that he considered hitting his own buzzer for the comedian as well. Talk about a strong AGT start, now that he's off to the live shows! Plus, getting a compliment on standup comedy from Howie Mandel? Talk about plenty to celebrate!

Singer Richard Goodall

It's a safe bet that something spectacular is coming in the final act of the night in an AGT audition episode, and the Season 19 premiere didn't disappoint with Richard Goodall. The Indiana native took his very first flight ever to come to America's Got Talent, and he didn't come from a musical profession. Rather, he has worked as a janitor at the local middle school, and he shared that the kids at the school encouraged his talent when they would hear him sing.

And honestly, singers aren't always the standouts of AGT for me because they can be a dime a dozen in the auditions, but I had my heart set on the 55-year-old blowing the roof off the theater just after hearing his story and seeing him getting emotional when he was on the verge of reaching his dream. Then, as soon as he was just a few notes into his take on "Don't Stop Believin'" by Journey, I was just wondering which of the judges would be hitting the buzzer. There was no question of whether or not somebody would.

And Heidi Klum was the one! Goodall's performance is further proof to me that AGT singers are bigger hits with audiences when they perform covers rather than original songs, with exceptions for performers like Drake Milligan. Goodall would have surely been great no matter what he sang, but what better than a song that would have the the audience singing and dancing along?

These two golden buzzers in the Season 19 premiere are just the first of many, as Simon Cowell confirmed that each judge will hit the buzzer twice this time around, meaning nearly twice as many contestants advanced straight to the live show. (Terry Crews will still get just the one.) So, this time around, the chances will be even higher for another AGT champion who won a golden buzzer.

All in all, for as much fun as it was to see the franchise branch out for AGT: Fantasy League and I got a kick out of seeing Mel B back with her former fellow AGT judges in that spinoff, it was nice to get back to what America's Got Talent does best. When Heidi Klum walks at a fashion event, you know you are going to get something incredibly unique. The model and America’s Got Talent judge has done everything from hopping on the cutout dress trend with tons of other celebrities to going viral for dressing up as a worm for Halloween. As France’s Cannes Film Festival continues to unfold, Klum showed off her A-game again by wearing two wild outfits, and as usual she absolutely rocked them! 

When Heidi Klum attended amfAR‘s 30th annual Cannes Gala on Thursday, she turned up in not one, but two looks. Even though this was her second look of the night, you have to see this amazing transparent white feathered dress she wore for the cocktail party portion of the charity event: 

The supermodel always knows how to stun with something unexpected! The sheer dress, a fashion statement that she famously went for during the Avatar 2 premiere, was Klum’s second dress of the night. Later, she paired the sheer dress in a white blazer. 

Along with the white look, Klum also rocked a blush dress from Lever Couture’s SS24 ‘Velocity of Emotions’ collection, per WWD. Check it: 

Klum showed off her legs in the ruffle dress, which she paired with large statement green earrings, and open-toed white and peach stiletto heels. The satiny asymmetrical dress had a gorgeous train that draped down the supermodel as well. She actually brought her 20-year-old daughter Leni to the event, who wore her own version of the sheer dress trend, in a contrasting black ensemble with floral details all over it. 

Tons of celebrities turned up to the Cannes Gala that evening, including Cher, Michelle Yeoh, Kelly Rowland, Diane Kruger and Demi Moore, who also had a movie that premiered at the festival to the longest-standing ovation thus far. The event was held at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc and it happens every year in support of amfAR’s breakthrough AIDS research during the film festival.

Tons of movies have been premiering at the Cannes Film Festival since it started on May 14. Ahead of the festival wrapping up this weekend, attendees have seen Kevin Costner’s Horizon: An American Saga, Sebastian Stan’s Donald Trump movie The Apprentice and Francis Ford Coppola’s Megapolis, the latter of which led to strong reactions from critics. 

Aside from Heidi Klum stunning at Cannes in some bold and fashion-forward looks, the star is set to return to the 2024 TV Schedule next week for another season of America’s Got Talent. Klum will be back to her judging duties alongside Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel and Sofía Vergara when the new season starts on Tuesday, May 28. 

Sofia Vergera managed to make quite an impression on Netflix subscribers earlier this year, thanks to her role in the limited series Griselda. The six-part crime drama sees the actress take on the role of real-life Colombian drug lord Griselda Blanco. A solid amount of praise has been showered upon the crime series as a whole, but critics have especially lauded Vergara for her performance in the eponymous role. All that aside though, Heidi Klum – Vergara’s fellow America’s Got Talent judge – humorously revealed that she was “upset” over the production for one specific reason.

While AGT’s 19th season is still a couple of months away, the two ladies reunited for a red carpet event in promotion of the competition series at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium. It was there that they both spoke to ET, and Heidi Klum weighed in on her colleague’s hit show. She does indeed appear to be a fan of Griselda and, with that, she wishes she could’ve played a role in it herself: 

At the end of the day, the Despicable Me 4 star could’ve pulled a few strings and got her co-star in for a non-speaking cameo. But, as a producer on the show, the star surely had to make the creative decisions she felt were right. It should be pointed out, of course, that Heidi Klum is definitely joking and holds no true ill will towards her colleague or the show. Still, I really do think she would’ve relished the opportunity to have been even a small part of such a popular piece of work.

Griselda floated around Netflix’s Top 10 TV trending list following its debut on the platform in January. While it’s early and awards season just ended, it might be fair to assume that the Modern Family alum and the project as a whole could receive some buzz later this year. Notably ahead of its release, the production was also thrust into the center of a lawsuit after the streamer and Sofia Vergara were sued alongside five other defendants due to the show. The plaintiffs – Blanco’s son, Michael, and his wife – alleged that the series used the family’s image and likeness without authorization. The suit, which was filed in mid-January was ultimately tossed out in February. 

Though the series didn’t mark a reunion for Heidi Klum and Sofia Vergara, the two can look forward to working together again on the new season of AGT, which arrives in May. Further comments they shared with ET suggest that they’re excited to be together again. Vergara made note of how they’re “always trying to have fun” when they have moments of downtime amid production. That camaraderie is palpable when they’re on screen together and, while they didn’t get to work on the limited series together, I’m glad they’ll continue to collaborate in the reality competition space.

Spoilers ahead for the second night of AGT: Fantasy League semi-finals.

After Night 2 of semi-finals, AGT: Fantasy League has narrowed down the four judges' picks to the very best of the best. This is the fourth spinoff of America's Got Talent, following All-Stars, Extreme, and The Champions. I've been enjoying the ride well enough in the 2024 TV schedule, but Fantasy League just hasn't been my favorite offshoot of AGT, even with the throwback fun of Mel B joining Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, and Heidi Klum. That said, there's one element in particular that I've really been enjoying, and a certain golden buzzer in the semi-finals has me ready to announce it.

The golden buzzers have worked differently in the newest spinoff, as the judges have been battling each other while also encouraging their favorite performers. They have had the option of hitting the buzzer to advance somebody from their own team... or steal somebody from one of the other teams. In the second night of semi-finals, Simon Cowell used his buzzer to advance a member of his own team: Musa Motha. Heidi Klum used hers in a more fun way: to steal V. Unbeatable from Team Howie.

It's hard to blame her – V. Unbeatable's semi-finals performance was incredible, and Howie Mandel's reaction was split between cheering for the group and trying to discourage Heidi Klum from stealing them from him. The crowd was cheering for her to press it, and it seemed at first like she might leave their fate up to the voters... but then, to Mandel's dismay, she hit the button and made her way up to the stage to welcome the dance group to Team Heidi with golden confetti raining down.

And – apologies to Howie – it was just really funny and fun! The stakes for Fantasy League were never going to feel as high as a normal season of AGT, considering that it will run for far fewer episodes and only features familiar faces, so a bit of goofiness with the golden buzzer was pretty much perfect. Heidi Klum stealing V. Unbeatable wasn't the first steal of the spinoff, but I think it's my favorite. Take a look at the performance that motivated Klum to use her advantage and snag the group from Team Howie:

On the whole, the banter between the judges hits just a little bit different as they battle each other vs. a normal season of AGT or one of the other spinoffs. Simon Cowell had blunt words for Howie Mandel about Drake Milligan early in the new year, and his Spice Girls joke to Mel B was great enough that I'm guilty of a rewind or two.

The extra layer of competition in Fantasy League has been entertaining, and is probably my favorite part of the show. Does that speak well of the actual competition, if my favorite moments are between the judges rather than on stage? Maybe not, but I'll enjoy the ride, and perhaps revisit some of those moments streaming with a Peacock Premium subscription.

That ride doesn't last for too much longer, though. The next episode will include the final performances, followed the week after by the results episode. The stakes aren't quite as high as the normal AGT for viewers from home, since the winners are determined by the audience in the theatre rather than live voting. We’ve seen Florence Pugh continue the sheer trend along with many other celebs for over a year now, and A-listers rocking Barbiecore have been a constant as of late. Both these trends highlight the creativity and innovation in fashion, and they show off the personalities and styles of the people who wear them. Now, another stylish moment seems to be emerging as celebs like Heidi Klum, Olivia Wilde, Shania Twain and more have been seen wearing some great dresses that feature side cutouts. And let me tell you, I’m so here for this trend popping off. 

Heidi Klum  

Heidi Klum knows how to rock a trend in a totally unique and daring way. From wearing a sheer dress that looked like water to the Avatar: The Way of Water premiere to her throwing it back to the early ‘00s with a butt-baring dress, the America’s Got Talent judge is always pushing the boundaries of what’s trendy. 

That was 100% the case at the iHeart Radio Music Awards this spring when the model wore a sparkly blue Julien Macdonald dress, per Hollywood Life, that featured both a fun side cutout and played into the ongoing underboob trend that celebrities have been loving for the last year.

Janelle Monáe 

While Janelle Monáe loves a futuristic fashion moment, they also adore a timeless look too – like this gorgeous red Cong Tri gown they wore to the NAACP Image Awards in February, per WWD. With a bold red lip and some fab red heels, the Glass Onion actor absolutely slayed the red carpet in this incredible dress that featured a slit all the way up their leg and a fun cut-out on the side with some flattering ruching. 

Olivia Wilde 

While Florence Pugh has reinvented the sheer trend over and over again, her Don’t Worry Darling director, Olivia Wilde is totally killing this side cutout trend. At the 2023 Met Gala, which honored Chanel’s longtime creative designer Karl Lagerfeld, Wilde wore a white Chloé design with gold detailing that featured side cutouts on both sides of her abdomen.

According to Vogue, it was inspired by a Chloé design from the spring 1983 collection and music, which you can see with the violin-like shape at the center of the dress.

Lori Harvey 

Showing off a slightly more casual version of the side cutout trend, Lori Harvey wore a white dress to the Revolve Festival earlier this spring during Coachella. The look leans into the streetwear style that’s been a big trend for the last couple of years, and it capitalizes on the side cutout having a major moment. Her black bag and sunglasses tie the sneakers into the look perfectly, and the gold waist chain and hand chain bring the ensemble together. 

Kim Kardashian

If you want to talk about a woman who is always at the forefront of fashion, look no further than Kim Kardashian. While she’s cooked up some wild trends of her own, she also knows how to rock whatever is having a moment – this includes a sidecut out dress. 

During an outing in New York City, she wore a Gucci maxi dress, per Page Six, that featured two cutouts on her hips and two more on her side. The edgy ensemble with the slicked-back updo was such a good look for her, and both on-brand and on-trend. 

Shania Twain

Like a lot of the fashionistas on this list, Shania Twain loves a bold look that’s both on trend and totally unique to her. At this year’s CMT Music Awards, the Queen of Me artist rocked a super fun sheer butterfly-inspired dress by Prabal Gurung, per People. Complimenting the red and black sheer fabric, the cut of the dress also helps show off the butterfly effect with the two cutouts at her waist acting as the center point, while the top and bottom of the dress flutter out almost like wings. 

The “Man! I Feel Like a Woman” singer is known for her high-fashion and confident looks. Shania Twain loves a bold and unique moment, and she proved that by going topless for her album cover, and proudly repurposing her clothes on tour. She also loves to be experimental on the red carpet, while remaining on-trend, as she did with this cutout gown. 

Hilaria Baldwin  

In late 2022, Alec and Hilaria Baldwin went out for a night on the town to attend The Museum Gala at the American Museum of Natural History. Two months after giving birth to her and the actor’s seventh kid, according to Page Six, they went to this event, and she thrived in a Joy Cioci gown that featured a gorgeous cutout at her waist. 

The velvet look, perfect for the holidays, also featured a white bow that tied the dress together right below the cutout. To top it off, Hilaria wore her hair up, and paired the dress with some sparkly silver earrings and pumps. All around, this mom of seven absolutely killed the carpet in this trendy fit. 

Gigi Hadid 

You can always count on Gigi Hadid to take on a trend in a super fun way, and she did just that by wearing a dress to the Met Gala in 2023 that featured fun side cutouts and radiated Y2K energy. Harper’s Bazaar called it a “Goth Naked” look while describing the sheer ensemble, and I totally agree. The naked dress has been a beloved staple for the red carpet recently, and the model stepped up her take on it by also playing into the side cutout trend.

Like Wilde’s look, Hadid’s custom Givenchy dress was inspired by Karl Lagerfeld’s work, and you can feel that through the black gloves, and black and white color scheme. However, it’s also unique to her, and I love how the cutouts help give off a punk Y2K vibe that is very in at the moment. 

Overall, side cutouts are having a moment, and these people really know how to rock it. As the 2023 TV schedule keeps rolling along, more 2023 movie releases come out, more red-carpet events and fashion shows will happen, and I’m sure we’ll see more celebs donning this trend in the near future. I for one can’t wait. The cutouts are a way to make a look totally different from anything else, and it shows just how playful fashion can be, as these folks proved with their wonderful dresses. 

As America's Got Talent's current Season 18 quickly approaches its finale, NBC is already working ahead on a spinoff. This won't be another season of The Champions, Extreme, or All-Stars, but tied to what judge Simon Cowell recently teased when Season 17's Drake Milligan returned for a performance. The new spinoff is called AGT: Fantasy League, and it will be the biggest departure from the usual format yet. There will be the normal panel of judges, however, with Sofia Vergara replaced by a familiar face for Fantasy League: former judge Mel B herself! The return of Mel B is a fun way to fill Vergara's seat on the panel for the spinoff.

AGT: Fantasy League is on the way next year with a format like that of a fantasy sports draft, but this won't involve football or baseball. Judges Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, and Mel B will each lead a team comprised of acts over the years from the entire Got Talent franchise. They'll be able to choose from a variety of favorites over the years, not just champions or golden buzzer recipients. 

Winners, finalists, viral performers, and just plain popular acts are in the running, and will be selected by American viewers with an early vote. The vote begins soon, with fans having their shot to suggest acts after the finale of AGT Season 18 on September 27 via the show's app, with a pool of more than sixty former stars to choose from. Forty former acts will make the final cut from the draft pool, with the judges choosing ten each to fill their fantasy teams.

With Mel B coming to Fantasy League with six seasons of the parent series and one season of America's Got Talent: The Champions under her belt, who better to bring back for a season that reaches back into the past for former favorites, especially fresh off of appearing in Fox's Special Forces: World's Toughest Test? Not many judges had runs as long as hers before she departed after Season 13! 

While audiences voting and AGT bringing back former standout performers isn't exactly new after the Champions and All-Stars seasons, the judges will also be competing this time. Cowell, Mandel, Klum, and Mel B will mentor and guide the acts for the goal of being able to brag about selecting the very first AGT: Fantasy League champion. It's not clear at this point what the actual champion will win, but I for one hope it's similar to normal AGT and involves cash and a chance to hit the stage in Las Vegas.

There's another twist to the normal format that makes me think AGT: Fantasy League could feel like a combination of America's Got Talent and The Voice, shortly after new Voice coach Reba McEntire took the AGT stage. While the golden buzzer will be used to send acts directly to the finals as usual, the judges also have the option to hit the valuable buzzer to steal an act from one of the others or boost a member of their own team. Viewers from home will also get to vote each week to choose who makes it to the finals. 

Personally, I'm optimistic about what's ahead with AGT: Fantasy League, and not just because this sounds like the franchise truly trying something new in comparison to past spinoffs that didn't change a whole lot from the format of the original. Plus, I loved Mel B as a judge during her time, and she brought a fun chemistry to the panel, even if she and Cowell didn't always seem to be on the best terms. 

In fact, she spent several seasons on a panel with Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, and Heidi Klum, so this truly is something of an AGT homecoming for her. I'm guessing she won't want to bring back Sacred Riana after getting a scare from her some years back! Plus, losing Sofia Vergara for Fantasy League doesn't mean that she won't be back for AGT Season 19, as the spinoffs often change up the judges panel. This could be a win-win: getting Mel B back without losing Vegara permanently, although that remains to be seen.

AGT: Fantasy League is slated to premiere in 2024, but no more precise date is available at the time of writing. That's not entirely unsurprising, given the uncertainty in the entertainment industry at the moment due to the WGA writers strike and SAG-AFTRA actors strike. Season 18 of America’s Got Talent is in full swing, with those who made it past the auditions taking the stage for a second time in the qualifiers round in hopes of making it to the final for a chance at the $1 million prize and a Las Vegas stage show. Nobody said the journey was going to be easy, though, and after the shocking elimination of a Golden Buzzer winner on top of what some AGT fans feel is an uptick in red X appearances, Howie Mandel has addressed accusations that he and the other judges — Simon Cowell, in particular — have gotten “more harsh.”

Howie Mandel shared his thoughts on why he, Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum and Sofia Vergara have been hitting their buzzers so often during the live qualifier shows, after social media users pointed out that these were performers they’d already seen and advanced in the competition. The comedian told Parade: 

His explanation makes sense, and there are a number of reasons a contestant might fall out of favor between the auditions and the qualifiers — including if they’re not able to up the ante from what the judges and audience have already seen. It’s also fair for Howie Mandel to point out that if they start to lose interest in an act, others watching at home or online might feel the same way.

It certainly hasn’t been easy for the Season 18 performers. Of the first 22 acts to take the stage in the qualifiers round, only four were sent through to the final. While Simon Cowell is accustomed to getting booed by the audience for his sometimes-blunt assessments, fellow judge Sofia Vergara accused him of being “the Grinch” during a recent episode when he offered harsher criticism than his cohorts on singer Summer Rios.

Whether Howie Mandel and the rest have been a little buzzer-happy recently (consciously or otherwise), there’s still been plenty of praise to go around when it comes to the often-emotional performances, and particularly for Season 18’s Golden Buzzer winners.

Simon Cowell had only the highest of compliments for 17-year-old singer Putri Ariani, after he requested a second song during her audition, and his kind words continued in the qualifiers round, when he said contestants like her were the reason he kept coming back to the show. (No matter how blunt he gets, I doubt anything Cowell does on AGT will be as bad as the allegedly fake rudeness of American Idol’s early seasons).

We’ll have to tune in to see if Howie Mandel and Simon Cowell continue to hit their red buzzers an unusual amount for the remainder of the live qualifiers. America’s Got Talent continues at 8 p.m. ET Tuesday and Wednesday on Fox and can be streamed with a Peacock Premium subscription. 

Spoilers ahead for the August 30 episode of America's Got Talent Season 18.

The second round of America's Got Talent qualifiers are over, and only dance group Murmuration and comic Ahren Belisle will advance to the finals. As per usual, host Terry Crews found ways to pass the airtime in between announcing who would move on and who would be eliminated, and that involved talking to Heidi Klum about her iconic "hand binoculars" that she uses while judging the show. Klum then put on her own pair of glasses (seen above), proving that there's yet another look that she can make totally glam.

Terry Crews read a social media comment that said somebody should "tell Heidi to get a pair of glasses so she doesn't have to cup her hands around her eyes to see." The room didn't seem to know how to react to that comment, but the judge gamely explained her hand binoculars and sported her own specs in the process! Klum, who recently addressed a rumor about calorie-counting, said: 

Terry Crews and Klum's fellow judge Howie Mandel lightly teased and laughed about the eyewear, but Sofia Vergara had her back and insisted that she looks good in glasses. Everybody deserves a friend like Sofia Vergara, especially since she could only see the back of Klum's head for most of the conversation! Heidi Klum seemed genuinely self-conscious about her glasses, so I'm glad she had Vergara on her side. Plus, the episode moved on to Crews asking Vergara about the funny slip that happened the night before. 

Personally, I think Klum looked great in her glasses, but what doesn't she look great in? Whether she's serving fruit in a bathing suit or posing naked in Paris or bringing back an early '00s trend, she's looking as gorgeous as ever in 2023. Glasses or no glasses!

Heidi's hand binoculars have served her well enough so far on America's Got Talent, and her golden buzzer selection for Season 18 – singer Lavender Darcangelo – was advanced to the finals after her qualifiers performance. The August 30 episode wasn't as ideal for golden buzzer winners, however. As I predicted in my golden buzzer ranking, Chioma & The Atlanta Drum Academy did not win the votes to become AGT Season 18 champions, but I'm with Simon Cowell in hoping to see them at the Super Bowl halftime show someday!

There are still several golden buzzer winners who haven't yet performed on AGT for the second time, not to mention all the other acts that survived the auditions and are still in the running for the $1 million prize and Las Vegas stage show. After all, jut because golden buzzer winners are historically more likely to become champions doesn't mean that other contestants can't win!

Heidi Klum may be found on NBC these days as a judge on Season 18 of NBC's America's Got Talent, but the latest buzz about the supermodel-turned-TV personality has to do with her eating habits. Rumors began circulating recently that Klum only consumes 900 calories per day, prompting her to speak out and debunk them with some support from fellow AGT stars. Now, her longtime Project Runway and Making the Cut pal Tim Gunn is speaking out as well in her defense!

Tim Gunn and Heidi Klum have been collaborating for nearly two decades now, starting with Project Runway on Bravo back in 2004 and continuing with Making the Cut for Amazon Prime subscribers after they jumped ship from Project Runway. In light of the accusations that Klum consumes less than 1,000 calories per day, Gunn shared this with TMZ:

How many people would know Heidi Klum's snacking habits better than Tim Gunn at this point in their partnership? He clearly didn't take the rumor seriously in the slightest, which echoes what her fellow America's Got Talent stars said. Sofia Vergara, who has been making headlines of her own for her personal life due to her divorce from Joe Manganiello, said that Klum comes into her dressing room to snack, and Terry Crews said he had no trouble believing that. 

For his part, Howie Mandel said to ET that she "should be in the Guinness Book of World Records for someone who can consume that many calories and stay that fit." It really seems that there's been much ado about nothing, but Heidi Klum explained why she responded to the rumors about calorie-counting rather than just ignoring them. She shared that reading that she only eats 900 calories per day could make other people want to do the same, and she didn't want other people's health to suffer because of a baseless rumor. 

On the whole, kudos to Tim Gunn and her other showbiz friends for sticking up for her. Gunn's support could be particularly helpful, as they've joined forces over the years for fashion shows that of course put a lot of emphasis on appearances. Here's hoping that more people listen to what she and those close to her have said rather than the rumors about 900 calories per day, for the sake of their health!

Heidi Klum has been in the public eye for a long time, dropping jaws as a supermodel long before she became a member of the America’s Got Talent judging panel. She’s well-accustomed to people commenting on her appearance and spreading false rumors, and while most of the time it’s best to ignore the noise, Klum felt it was important to respond to recent allegations that she ate only 900 calories per day. The former Sports Illustrated swimsuit model explained why she spoke publicly about these rumors, and her AGT colleagues were right there to back her up. 

Why Heidi Klum Responded To Calorie-Counting Accusations 

Heidi Klum and the rest of the America’s Got Talent crew are pretty good about awarding those Golden Buzzers to the deserving Season 18 contestants, but the supermodel showed that’s not the only thing she’s willing to dish out. After friends apparently started sending her articles that claimed she only ate 900 calories per day, she first took to Instagram to deny ever counting calories, before explaining why she felt the need to speak out. Klum told ET: 

She makes a good point, because who wouldn’t want to look like Heidi Klum? If people think she’s reducing her caloric intake that severely, others might try to make such changes in their own diets. Her fellow America’s Got Talent co-stars came to her defense, too. 

Sofia Vergara, Terry Crews And Howie Mandel Confirm That Heidi Klum Eats 

When asked about the rumors regarding the longtime AGT judge, Sofia Vergara was surprised, telling Heidi Klum:

In another interview with ET, Howie Mandel cracked a joke when addressing the Heidi Klum rumors, saying that the former Victoria’s Secret Angel had been kicked out of Italy for creating a pasta shortage. Mandel continued: 

Heidi Klum said she doesn’t care what people say about her, but she draws the line at rumors that could cause unhealthy behavior from her fans. Hopefully anyone who read the rumors about her also see how vehemently she and her America’s Got Talent friends are denying the calorie-counting claims.

Bikinis have always been a summer staple, but are fruit platters now a trendy accessory to compliment said swimwear? Based on recent posts from Jennifer Lopez and Heidi Klum it seems like it might be. While this is a pretty silly thing to write, it is kind of random that it’s happened twice now. The first post like this was from the AGT judge when she posted a photo of her serving fruit in a bathing suit. Now, JLo has taken note, and she posted her own gallery of photos that included her lounging in a bikini next to a nice fruit platter. 

While promoting her brand Delola from a lounge chair in Italy, Jennifer Lopez posed in a white bikini and wide-brimmed hat for an Instagram post. She's gorgeous, and the spread next to her looks delectable, because next to the bucket of drinks is a lovely little fruit plate. JLo wrote that she’s “back in my element,” and she really is. Now, this whole fruit platter situation is relevant because Lopez kind of took a page out of Heidi Klum’s book by having one in her post. A few weeks ago, the former Project Runway host took to Instagram to post a photo in a fun floral one-piece swimsuit, that kind of looks like a bikini. She was also holding a platter of fruit and a plate with tomatoes on it. She noted “Make sure to eat your fruits and …..🍐🍇🍒🍑🍅🫐🍋🍓🍍🍏🍉🍌🍒🍒🍒🍋🍏🍅🍇😎🇮🇹❤,” and it seems like JLo did (whether she saw this post or not).

Klum has honestly been living her best life this summer. Before uploading her fun fruity photo, she posted a naked photo from a Paris hotel room. She really seems to be thriving, and so does Jennifer Lopez.

A few weeks ago she celebrated her birthday with a fun photo in lingerie, and she was glowing. The same can be said about the bikini photo pictured above. She looks amazing, and 100% like she’s in her “element.” Last summer we got a few fun bikini pics from the Shotgun Wedding star, including a birthday pic with Ben Affleck and another from a yacht in a neon yellow swimsuit. All this just goes to show that JLo knows how to rock a bikini, and she always looks fabulous!

Along with having a fashionable and fruity summer, Jennifer Lopez has been having an amazing year. She’s had two movies on the 2023 film schedule and her new album This Is Me…Now is on the way. So, as she soaks in the sun and snacks on that fruit platter in Italy, we can appreciate the fantastic year she’s had by checking out Shotgun Wedding with an Amazon Prime subscription and The Mother with a Netflix subscription. 

Heidi Klum has been a fashion icon of mine ever since she first graced the stage with Tim Gunn on Project Runway. The two would sometimes disagree on looks, but it often stemmed from Gunn enjoying looks that were a little more conservative and Klum wanting women to be confident in their bodies and show off more of them in their styles. Which is why I supposed I shouldn’t be surprised Klum shared a recent look wearing nothing but a bathing suit, though I’m unsure why she’s also serving platters of fruit. 

Heidi Klum has been in the modeling business for decades, and she knows her way around a swimsuit or five. She, in fact, was the cover model for Sports Illustrated’s famous Swimsuit Edition in 1998 (a laud Megan Fox, Martha Stewart and others landed this year). But I’m here for the America’s Got Talent judge’s latest post, not only because the fruit platter is surprising, but also because her attached message amused me.

Klum captioned her post from her Italian vacation with the following: “Make sure to eat your fruits and …..🍐🍇🍒🍑🍅🫐🍋🍓🍍🍏🍉🍌🍒🍒🍒🍋🍏🍅🍇😎🇮🇹❤️.”  I’m here for the very mom-like message of remembering to eat your fruits (and veggies), but given the context of some of these emojis, I’m wondering if she’s winking at her audience a little bit too. 

This isn’t the first time Klum has posted from her vacation with her husband Tom Kaulitz. The two have spent some extended time in Capri enjoying the sunshine and the swimwear-appropriate weather. She also shared a second post with a tray of veggies (and more tomatoes) thereby standing by her advice.

While Klum is known for going a little over-the-top with her looks – particularly in regards to her Halloween creations – she’s been open about her love for fashion for years. She told Jay Leno back in 2011, “I'm just not a quiet little mouse. I like to express myself with clothes and bling and things that I love.” 

It’s unclear how long Klum will be posting some major fashion moments with some fruits and veggies, but aspirational vacation posts have been a big thing this summer. In fact, for weeks now Samuel L. Jackson’s been sharing a look at the “yacht yachty” life he’s been enjoying with pals including Magic Johnson. Kevin Hart has been on a literal safari with his family. Many other a-listers have gone the Italian route, as Simu Liu hit up Sicily and Gwyneth Paltrow shared a topless post while on vacation in the Italian countryside.

Celebrities may sometimes be just like us, but they certainly don’t vacation like us. 

Spoilers ahead for the July 11 episode of America's Got Talent Season 18.

After the previous episode started and ended without anybody hitting a golden buzzer on America's Got Talent, judge Heidi Klum made sure to bestow that honor on a contestant on July 11! Lavender Darcangelo took the stage for a stunning rendition of Irene Cara's "Out Here On My Own," and I think it's already safe to say that she could go very far in Season 18 and perhaps join the list of AGT champions who won a golden buzzer first. 

The 27-year-old singer took the stage with her dad, and shared with the judges that she's autistic as well as blind. She then shared her dream of starting a school with classes based on what students are naturally curious about, because that's the kind of school she would have thrived in. Lavender Darcangelo's dad then took the microphone to explain the process of getting to know her and deciding to adopt her with his husband.

She definitely had the crowd entirely on her side before she even sang a note, and once she began singing... well, it's no wonder that she got a golden buzzer! Take a look:

Whether or not I decide to rewatch this full episode with my Peacock Premium subscription, I know that I'll be revisiting Lavender Darcangelo's take on "Out Here On My Own" until she returns to AGT! She earned an ovation from the judges as well as the audience, and her dads were visibly emotional. Simon Cowell described her audition as "just magical," while Sofia Vergara confessed that she forgot she was supposed to be judging her because she was enjoying the performance so much. Howie Mandel praised her singing for giving "everybody hope that maybe we can all achieve our dreams."

Nobody could beat Heidi Klum for her show of support, however, as she told the singer that she felt like she just fell in love, and she would love to be her cheerleader and hold her hand "all the way to the finish line." The model-turned-judge hit the golden buzzer, and was full of hugs and compliments when she went up to the stage to congratulate Lavender Darcangelo. The singer was overcome by happy tears as soon the buzzer went off, leading Klum to proclaim that "happy tears are the best tears!"

Lavender Darcangelo is now the fifth performer of Season 18 to get a golden buzzer, and the latest music act after Mzansi Youth Choir in the Season 18 premiere, followed by the 17-year-old singer Putri Ariani courtesy of Simon Cowell and 8-year-old drummer Chioma thanks to Terry Crews. Sofia Vergara is the only judge left with a golden buzzer to hit and advance somebody directly to the live shows.

On her latest vacation, she showed off both things as she posted about her lovely trip to Paris, with one of the photos featuring her nude in a hotel room. 

As part of her trip to France, Heidi Klum posed nude for one of her photos. The series of images showed her naked and peeking out the window, with a disheveled bed behind her. Over the last two days, Klum has been posting lots of highlights from her Paris trip. In her first IG post about France, she and her husband Tom Kaulitz appeared to be out and about enjoying their time at a café. Along with the sweet selfies of the couple, it also featured photos of their delectable food. 

They then took in the sights and posed for a photo in front of the Louvre. Klum noted how hot it was in Paris in another post, and she uploaded a video from the same hotel all about the designer she was wearing.

It seems like Klum was in the City of Love for a fashion show, as some of the runways were featured in her posts. And her latest upload showed her thanking Jean Paul Gaultier Haute Couture by Julien Dossena for her dress, and their show. You can see her latest post from Paris here:

Heidi Klum is not only a fashion icon, but vacation goals. Over Easter, she went topless by the pool, and seemed to be soaking up the sun and enjoying her holiday off. While it seems like part of her trip to Paris was work-related, it also appears that she got some good rest and relaxation in, including some time spent nude in her incredibly fancy hotel. 

While her hotel room photos are absolutely stunning, I also couldn’t take my eyes off the dresses Klum wore throughout this trip, including the blue one she wore in the bed. Even though the AGT judge has rocked a butt-baring dress that gave major early ‘00s nostalgia, and showed up to the Avatar 2 premiere in a gorgeous sheer gown over the last year, these vacation looks truly have me inspired to up my own fashion game. 

Whether she’s rocking a worm costume that ends up as one of the defining pop culture moments of 2022 or she’s going full birthday suit on her French vacation, we can always count on Heidi Klum for some fashionable, confident and super fun peeks into her life.

From breaking the internet with her worm Halloween costume, which was considered one of pop culture’s defining moments of 2022, to wearing a sheer dress to the Avatar 2 premiere, Klum is always on her A-game. Now, she’s proving once again that she loves making bold fashion statements and setting trends by creating an outfit with a thong and butt-baring dress that is very early ‘00s.

Klum rocked the dress to a party with Kim Petras, who just dropped her single “Alone” with Nicki Minaj. While it’s unclear what exactly the party was for, it seems like it could have been in celebration of the new song since Petras was seen multiple times in the America’s Got Talent judge’s Instagram story, sometimes on stage with a microphone. Klum took to Instagram to share moments from the evening, as well as her early '00s-inspired look, by posting this video:

The video shows Klum shaking it in a gold mini-dress that has an ultra-low back. Along with the cross-body straps on the back, she’s also wearing a black thong with gold embellishments to finish off the look. She paired the dress with knee-high black boots, beachy waves in her hair, and natural glam. Overall, she looked like she was ready to party in a very on-trend way. 

It became clear at the beginning of 2023 that this Y2K trend would be making a major comeback, per W magazine. They pointed to celebrities like Hailey Bieber and Dua Lipa rocking the low-back, thong-showing look to bring in the new year. On top of this specific trend, many other actresses have been hopping on fun trends adjacent to this one as Florence Pugh wore “a quick sparkly thong,” and Sydney Sweeney looked fab in her butt necklace. Now, Klum is adding to the trend, by sharing her take on the early ‘00s look. 

I’m not surprised at all that Klum decided to jump on this trend. She’s always been one to rock edgier looks, and she has never been afraid to show a little skin, for example, she went topless for Easter on Instagram. Also, as a former model, and host of fashion-forward shows like Project Runway and Making the Cut, she’s always in the know about what’s on trend, and she is frequently wearing up-in-coming or current trends, like the butt-baring thong and dress combo.

While Klum has been partying it up with Kim Petras lately, when it comes to what’s next, she’ll be returning to the 2023 TV schedule when America’s Got Talent – which will be available to those with a Peacock subscription – returns this summer. I highly doubt she’ll be rocking a low-back thong-baring dress to judge the popular talent show, but I guarantee she’ll have more fun and edgy looks picked out that are perfect for the reality competition.

For many who celebrate Easter, the day might be spent at church or with family — possibly even with someone dressing up as the Easter Bunny. Heidi Klum Goes Topless As She Spends Easter At The Pool 

Heidi Klum has always been a fashion icon, and her looks in the past year have continued to stun people in different ways. Of course we all remember what happened at Halloween: Her worm costume became one of the pop culture movements that defined 2022, even if being in that suit was an actual nightmare. She stunned fans in the opposite way at the premiere of Avatar: The Way of Water, when she wore a sheer gown that actually resembled water. The former Victoria’s Secret Angel got playful on Instagram for Easter, though, with some cute bunny ears and not much else:

Pete Davidson And Chase Sui Wonders Get Down On Martha’s Farm 

Martha Stewart had some company at her sprawling, 153-acre New York farm over the weekend, as the “son she never had” brought his Bodies Bodies Bodies co-star Chase Sui Wonders for a visit. It looks like the couple didn’t leave empty-handed, either, as Pete Davidson showed off some farm fresh eggs in the wholesome pic Stewart posted to Instagram: 

Chase Sui Wonders, who is also set to appear on the upcoming Peacock series Bupkis with Pete Davidson, seems to have gotten Martha Stewart’s stamp of approval, as she called them a “Very cute couple!!!!”

Following the Saturday Night Live alum’s breakup from Kim Kardashian, some fans began to wonder if there was hope for a romance between the actor and the 81-year-old businesswoman. However, Martha Stewart hasn’t yet made it onto the long list of Pete Davidson’s girlfriends. 

Chase Sui Wonders, meanwhile, has been connected to him since his situationship with Emily Ratajkowski fizzled out. The two have been friends for over a year, but in more recent months have been photographed packing on the PDA and vacationing in Hawaii. Perhaps this visit to Martha Stewart’s farm is another sign that the two are getting serious? Keep your eye on the 2023 TV schedule for Bupkis as well as other upcoming premieres.

America's Got Talent: All-Stars has brought the best of the best from across the world (and across the AGT franchise) to return to the stage and try for the top prize. The competition is much stiffer than in a normal season, as champions are facing off against champions, with fan-favorites battling fan-favorites. Now, after the fourth night of auditions, one more contestant has won a golden buzzer after impressing judge Heidi Klum. 13-year-old Irish magician Aidan McCann came to the AGT stage from Britain's Got Talent to turn Terry Crews into a Titan, and it was a hit!

No, Aidan McCann's magic skills didn't involve time travel and/or teleportation to take Terry Crews back to his NFL days and get him a spot on the Tennessee Titans, but instead made him into a superhero who goes by that name! It was a twist that none of the judges saw coming. The young magician had already impressed them; the extra twist with Terry Crews was enough for Heidi Klum to hit the buzzer. Take a look:

Aidan McCann was a finalist in Britain's Got Talent at the age of 11; now, he has a shot at winning the All-Stars season of AGT at the age of just 13, and I have to give him credit for nailing banter with the judges while completely blindfolded. He may not have needed any magic tricks for that, but I know that I was impressed! Plus, not only did he prove that he predicted how the judges had colored in his superhero drawing, but he came prepared with a junior superhero suit for himself and a big superhero suit for Terry Crews. 

Well, Terry Crews did previously say that he wanted to play a superhero! The Titan may not be Silver Surfer, but the crowd was loving the surprise of him tearing off his suit to show that he matched Aidan McCann. Was there any surprise that Heidi Klum felt that it was time for her to hit the golden buzzer? Honestly, I would have wanted a second golden buzzer for Terry Crews for flapping his cape and skipping off-stage! At the very least, he deserves a congratulatory hug like the one that McCann got from Klum. 

Aidan McCann is the fourth All-Stars contestant to get the golden buzzer, following former Season 14 contestants Light Balance Kids after they got the honor from Howie Mandel, Season 14's Detroit Youth Choir after getting their second golden buzzer from Terry Crews following the first back in 2019, and Simon Cowell giving comedian Mike E. Winfield a second chance after his elimination back in Season 17. (Dance group Mayyas ultimately won Season 17 after a very close vote.)

For now, the golden buzzer All-Stars are up against those who are voted through by the Superfans, who have already made cuts ranging from former AGT winner Dustin Tavella to dance/drum group Malevo.

I want to take a moment to remember the most important moments in the cultural zeitgeist of 2022 — basically, to quote the Tik Tok trend, 2022 pop culture moments that permanently altered my brain chemistry.

We’re breaking down 12 iconic moments from the past year that we won’t be forgetting any time soon. 

The Oscars Slap

Starting us off was the slap heard ‘round the world—a.k.a. The Oscars Slap. 

Following a joke from host Chris Rock that poked fun at Jada Pinkett Smith’s alopecia, her husband (and the evening’s winner for Best Actor in a Leading Role), Will Smith, marched on stage and slapped Rock across the face.

Collectively, I don’t know if the world has ever been more unified in a moment of “is this a bit or not?” immediately followed by, “Oh shit, it’s not.”

Much of the resulting exchange between Rock and Smith was censored out of live broadcasts, but the unedited footage had already been immortalized online. This story captured the real news cycle for days, but it also gave birth to some of the best memes from 2022.

The Don’t Worry Darling Drama

The drama behind the scenes of Don't Worry Darling was a huge point of celebrity gossip in 2022, thanks to director Olivia Wilde’s romance with leading man, Harry Styles. Their relationship was always the subject of scrutiny, since public favor tended to side with Wilde’s ex, Jason Sudeikis.

The drama took a hard left turn when Wilde shared that she felt forced to fire Shia LaBeouf, who had been the original star of her film. LaBeouf came back with receipts: a video from Wilde to himself, practically begging him to continue filming and speaking kind of unfavorably about costar Florence Pugh. Rumors, of course, began to swirl about tension on set between Wilde and Pugh.

The whole circus came to a head at the Venice Film Festival, where “spitgate” had the whole world wondering if Styles actually spit on co-star Chris Pine. All that drama for a movie that only has 39% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Kim & Pete

A newly-single Kim Kardashian first met Pete Davidson while hosting an October 2021 episode of Saturday Night Live. The two shared their first kiss during a sketch as Jasmine and Aladdin—and much to everyone’s surprise, were photographed spending time together off set soon after.

Kardashian and Davidson attended the Met Gala Together, and he was even featured on episodes of The Kardashians on Hulu. They’ve since broken up, but their relationship was iconic mostly because everyone loved seeing the SKIMS founder smiling and having fun during a messy divorce.

Eras Tour Broke Ticketmaster

The Eras tour fiasco wasn’t the first time Ms. Taylor Alison Swift came under fire this year—this past summer, we learned that her private-jet use essentially makes her an eco-terrorist. But, more drama found the singer/songwriter after the release of her most recent studio album, Midnights.

The album was a hit with fans, who hadn’t been able to see Swift live in concert since her Reputation tour in 2018—that’s four new albums and two re-records ago. So when Swift announced Eras, a tour that would serve as a celebration of her entire discography, it’s safe to say public interest was high.

Swifties flocked to Ticketmaster to claim presale tickets—but the site was forced to announce later in the day that traffic to the site had essentially “broken” their Verified Fan system and there were no tickets left for the general public sale (other than the ones resellers are currently asking thousands and thousands of dollars for).

The event literally caused Congress to launch an antitrust investigation on Ticketmaster’s parent company, Live Nation, making the Eras tour presale a tragic but iconic 2022 moment.

Amber Heard & Johnny Depp’s Lawsuit

A courtroom in Virginia became the focal point of the entire country during the lawsuit and countersuit between Johnny Depp and ex-wife Amber Heard.

So many juicy details came out of this trial, but the real spectacle was some of the unusual lines of questioning used by Heard’s lawyers during the trial (the Amicream line of questioning was wild).

Everyone and their mom became a legal expert during this trial, but it was another weirdly unifying moment of “schadenfreude” that brought us all together.

Rihanna’s Baby Bump

I think the world collectively held our breath when Rihanna announced her pregnancy with A$AP Rocky—if anyone is going to absolutely rock maternity, it’s Rhi. 

As expected, Rihanna showed off her baby bump proudly in 2022 until her son was born in June. Rather than disguise her tummy, the singer and beauty mogul basically treated her bump as the world’s best accessory.

Rihanna’s pregnant energy completely matched a quote from Alexa Demie’s character in Euphoria: “I wouldn't wear any of those nasty maternity clothes. I would just be me, plus pregnant.”

J-Lo And Ben Affleck Got Married

Capping off a decades-long saga with a happy ending, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck rekindled their relationship and tied the knot in 2022.

This A-list marriage is a perfect dose of nostalgia for people who were fans of the couple when they first dated in 2003—plus I think everyone just likes to see two people finding their way back together.

Kim Wore Marilyn Monroe’s Dress To The Met Gala

Come on, of course Kimmy was responsible for two of the most iconic moments of 2022!

The Kardashians star made her aforementioned appearance with Pete Davidson at the 2022 Met Gala wearing Marilyn Monroe’s dress—not a copy of her dress, but the actual piece Monroe herself wore to JFK’s birthday party in 1962.

The look sparked controversy, with some saying the dress is a piece of history that should be preserved and others still calling out the crash diet she had to go through to fit into the garment. 

Love the idea or hate it, you have to admit: We’re still talking about it. And isn’t that the whole point anyway?

Lea Michele’s Return To Broadway

If you weren’t online for the Funny Girl drama, strap in. Beanie Feldstein was cast as Fanny Brice in 2021 for the revival of the Broadway show—but after the production was snubbed at the Tony Awards, Feldstein announced in June that her final show would be on September 25.

However, Feldstein later took to Instagram to share that she wouldn’t actually be staying until September: she was leaving the show earlier than expected, and her last show would be at the end of July. Almost immediately following her announcement, the production came forward to announce that Lea Michele would be taking over the role of Fanny Brice.

Michele came under fire a little bit when people started to suggest she had “Rachel Berry-ed” her way into the part—after all, she previously worked with Funny Girl’s director on Spring Awakening, and shared in an interview that she and the director had discussed Feldstein’s role in the show over drinks. We obviously don’t know what was said behind the scenes, but the whole thing felt like an IRL replay of Michele’s Broadway-hungry character on Glee.

Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday Dance

Completely dominating everyone’s FYP this December was Jenna Ortega’s dance routine in Tim Burton’s Wednesday. The show has been a huge hit (especially with YA viewers), and it’s clear that Ortega’s charming-but-creepy portrayal of Wednesday Addams is the secret to Wednesday’s popularity.

Ortega choreographed Wednesday’s now-iconic dance to The Cramps’ Goo Goo Muck herself, drawing inspiration from goth culture, Fosse, and past iterations of Wednesday’s dance stylings. The scene went totally viral, with basically everyone feeling the need to recreate Ortega’s spooky choreography.

Even other celebs got in on the trend too, like Lady Gaga:

Heidi Klum’s Worm Costume

Supermodel Heidi Klum is known for her unusual Halloween costumes—in the past, she’s dressed as Princess Fiona from Shrek, Jessica Rabbit, and an old lady, all complete with prosthetics and makeup that make her unrecognizable. But the former Project Runway judge really outdid herself this year with a larger-than-life worm costume.

But, it gets better: it’s a COUPLES costume, with Klum’s husband, Tom Kaulitz, dressed as the fisherman with the worm on his hook:

Every year Heidi Klum’s Halloween costumes remind me that you don’t have to take yourself too seriously, and the worm costume was no exception. It also gives a whole new meaning to the “would you still love me if I were a worm” trend.

Elon Musk Bought Twitter

In one of the more cringe-worthy moments of 2022, billionaire Elon Musk made the decision to buy Twitter. Then unmade the decision. Then made it again. Seriously, I got whiplash from all the back and forth.

Ultimately Musk did go through with buying Twitter and immediately went to work making “improvements” to the site. For example, there was a period of several lawless days where any Twitter user could pay to be verified, leading to a frenzy of users impersonating celebrities, corporations, and Musk himself.

All in all, Musk’s net worth fell by $9 billion—yes, that’s BILLION—as a result of his quest to “make Twitter funny again.” And honestly? That is pretty funny to me.

Paris Hilton played a pretty significant role in what would become the Kardashians’ eventual takeover of all things pop culture. Before Kim Kardashian was the star of her own reality show — or even the sex tape — she was Hilton’s closet organizer/assistant. Before she was all over our screens, the SKIMS founder was often seen in paparazzi pics on the arm of the hotel heiress. Fifteen years later, the former BFFs were partying together again, at what looks like a festive holiday celebration. The photos Paris shared do, indeed, look “iconic,” but I can’t help but wonder what’s going on with Kim’s outfit.

Kim Kardashian and her momager, Kris Jenner, were featured in some of the Instagram photos that Paris Hilton shared from mom Kathy Hilton’s holiday blast. Jenner wore a classic black pantsuit, while Kathy, Paris and her sister Nicky Hilton all showed off fancy, Christmas-inspired dresses. Kardashian, meanwhile, sported high-waisted leather pants and a cropped T-shirt from the Up in Smoke hip-hop tour. See the look for yourself below: 

I’m not saying the starlet looks bad at all. The 'fit is actually pretty cute. However, next to the other partygoers in formal attire, she just looks a tad underdressed for the occasion. Quite a few people apparently felt the same way, as several comments seemed to wonder if the Kardashians star was the one who needed a little closet organizing of her own. Some of the comments read:

Of course, nobody knows what conversations or thought processes went into Kim Kardashian's decision to wear that particular ensemble for the Christmas party, but it’s worth noting that she was photographed in the same clothes earlier that day, at the bar mitzvah of her nephew, Mason Disick, who just celebrated his 13th birthday. 

The caption of Paris Hilton’s post acknowledged that Kathy Hilton always throws “iconic” parties, and this certainly seemed to be one to remember. Along with the representatives of the KarJenner clan, the Hiltons’ guest list included Heidi Klum and Paula Abdul, as two the posed for photos in front of a beautiful white Christmas tree. It looks like Abdul even joined Paris Hilton behind the DJ booth, and revelers were also treated to music from a gospel choir.

Kim Kardashian has worked over the past year or so to find her own fashion sense after filing for divorce from Kanye West, but her style has come into question even more since she began re-evaluating her partnership with Balenciaga amid their BDSM ad scandal. We’ll have to see how she continues to evolve when The Kardashians returns for the 2023 TV schedule. For now, however, Seasons 1 and 2 are available to stream with a Hulu subscription. 

Avatar: The Way of Water had its Los Angeles premiere this past Monday. The world of Pandora will finally make its way back into theaters after this highly anticipated 13-year wait. A-list celebrities like Heidi Klum made a splash at the Los Angeles premiere with the America’s Got Talent judge wearing a fantastic sheer dress meant to look like water.

Only Heidi Klum can pull off a realistic H2O look with dazzling style. The 49-year-old model and TV personality attended the Los Angeles premiere of Avatar: The Way of Water wearing a tulle Lever Couture dress with partly sheer panels making it look like she’s wearing water. This high-shoulder dress really flows like a gust of water blending in with the blue carpet. Take a look at the stunning dress below:

The former Project Runway judge posted an Instagram video of herself at the Los Angeles premiere of Avatar: The Way of Water smiling at the cameras proudly wearing the alluring dress. Her husband Tom Kaulitz, also accompanied his wife wearing his own silver suit with a matching button-up shirt underneath it. You can see this couple fashioning their silver looks below:  

All eyes are always around this German-American model who is known for making 100% effort with her eye-popping fashions. In fact, Klum’s fashion statements are so spectacular to the point that you wouldn’t even recognize her behind them. For example, the Germany's Next Topmodel judge once wore a Jessica Rabbit costume that looked more like a cartoon sketch compared to a model simply wearing a costume. She also set the bar high five years ago when she dressed as a werewolf from Michael Jackson’s Thriller music video for Halloween. And we can’t forget just last month when this successful model looked great wearing this viral worm Halloween costume. Klum yet again was unrecognizable! This shows that this gorgeous woman would rather have your eyes focused on her costume compared to the model behind them.

Heidi Klum wasn’t the only fashionable celebrity present at the Los Angeles premiere. The cast of Avatar: The Way of Water reunited dazzling cameras sporting sequins or navy blue attire. Unfortunately, the man behind the visionary masterpiece, James Cameron, could not make it to the premiere thanks to Covid he reportedly picked up on the plane. It’s a real shame he had to miss out due to circumstances beyond his control. But hopefully we’ll be able to see him at the 2023 Golden Globes as Avatar: The Way of Water received a nomination for Best Drama and another for Best Director. I’m sure he will yet again feel like “the king of the world” there. 

As for what people thought about the Avatar sequel, the response has been overwhelmingly positive. Reactions have been commenting about the extraordinary visuals the film has to offer and what an incredible experience it was. The critics couldn't agree in their reviews where they couldn’t stop talking about how the story of the newest Avatar movie may have been cliched, but its visuals make up well for it being a major successor over the 2009 movie. Audiences are sure to leave the theater with an experience like no other this year.

Heidi Klum fit Avatar: The Way of Water’s theme very well, mesmerizing the cameras by looking like water. Leave it to this talented model to make us look forward to seeing her latest fashions at any premiere she graces us with. You can see Avatar 2 in theaters this Friday. 

It’s not surprising to see celebrities go all out for Halloween. They’re accustomed to hair, makeup and wardrobe as part of their daily lives, so they really have to up the ante to make a statement for the holiday. While this year saw some paying homage to classic characters (like Kim Kardashian channeling Mystique from X-Men) and others stirring up controversy (e.g. Megan Fox and MGK’s priest getup), supermodel Heidi Klum went in a completely different direction, as she transformed into a giant worm. She definitely achieved the “wow” factor she was going for, but the moment didn’t come without its struggles, as Klum explained what it was like to be inside that costume.

The America’s Got Talent judge made a splash when she appeared on the red carpet of her Halloween party as a worm on the hook of a fishing pole, which was held by her husband Tom Kaulitz (dressed, naturally, as a fisherman). But it sounds like Heidi Klum experienced an actual nightmare inside the suit, as she later explained to ET what it was like to wear the costume. She said:  

The model covered her ears as she explained not being able to communicate well with anyone from inside the worm. It’s clear from the description that this costume was not meant for anyone with claustrophobic tendencies. In fact, she had so little mobility, she was actually worried she might suffocate as she wriggled on the ground. Heidi Klum continued:

It seems unlikely that anyone, particularly her husband, would forget about the human-sized worm lying on the ground, but as Heidi Klum said, there’s no place for logic when those fears start to set in.

At least she was able to achieve her goal, which she said was to amuse her fellow America’s Got Talent judges. Howie Mandel may have gotten a laugh from the costume, but he admitted to ET that he really thought “it was scary.” I can’t say I disagree. With Halloween and the epic worm costume now behind us, Heidi Klum can move forward with helping to pick the America’s Got Talent winners. Simon Cowell’s sense of fashion is fairly basic. For years, from his time on American Idol and The X Factor up to his current tenure on America’s Got Talent, the judge has always rocked a tight black t-shirt, a plain white button down and on occasion a blazer to spice things up. With Season 17 of AGT wrapping up with the Mayyas Dance Group winning, the judges have some free time on their hands, and Cowell will be using some of his time off to get married. Fellow AGT judge and fashion icon, Heidi Klum is excited about the wedding and has poked fun at Cowell’s signature sense of style, saying she’s going to help him find his look for his big day, otherwise he'd just wear what he always wears. 

Cowell is marrying his longtime girlfriend Lauren Silverman. The two have been together since 2004 and announced their engagement back in January. Klum spoke with the press after the AGT finale about the upcoming wedding and said: 

Obviously, Klum is in charge of the outfit. The model transitioned from Project Runway to Making the Cut, a few years ago. With 16 seasons on Runway and three seasons on Making the Cut plus a modeling career that spans two decades, I think Klum is qualified to style (and throw some light shade at) her pal. She also referenced the Roast of Cowell from the finale and elaborated on his fashion, specifically for his wedding, saying: 

While Cowell may have been excited about the format change on AGT this season, one thing that hasn’t been updated are his fits. The guy has been wearing the same thing forever. Making Klum's light jabs at him hilarious. He and Klum have both been on AGT for a while and get in tiffs every so often, for example, this season they had a disagreement over a Golden Buzzer winner. However, it’s all in good fun, as the two are friends. Both Klum and fellow judge Sofia Vergara are close with Cowell’s fiance and will be in attendance at the wedding. 

The finale of America’s Got Talent was a constant in the 2022 TV schedule this summer, but now that it’s over Cowell and his fellow judges can take a break, and in Cowell’s case get married. While the show won’t be back until 2023, there are plenty of competition shows to check out this fall. The competition is stiffer than ever in Season 17 of America’s Got Talent, and the qualifiers round is almost over to decide which competitors still have a chance at winning the $1 million and Las Vegas stage show. Each live show so far has brought back a golden buzzer winner, and the episode on August 30 featured the return of singer Lily Meola, who was so great in her audition that she changed judge Heidi Klum’s mind. Meola closed out the night with another original song, and after the broadcast, Klum shared what she disagreed with from fellow judge Simon Cowell’s feedback.

Simon Cowell is often critical of contestants who choose to audition with original songs vs. covers, and covers can certainly blow the roof off the building. Just last week, his golden buzzer Sara James delivered a performance of Elton John’s “Rocket Man” so dazzling that I may need to rethink my ranking of which buzzer winners are most likely to triumph in Season 17. In this case, Cowell actually commended Lily Meola for choosing an original, and said her newest song – called “Butterfly” – was “way better” than her audition song, and that’s what Heidi Klum takes issue with. 

Heidi Klum spoke with CinemaBlend and other outlets immediately following the August 30 episode of America’s Got Talent, and she mentioned Simon Cowell’s comments when opening up with her own thoughts on Lily Meola singing original songs: 

Heidi Klum certainly has a point about original songs taking performers pretty far on AGT; two of the three vocal acts that had already made it to the grand final sang original songs. Chapel Hart got even – in their words – ”sassier” for their second song, while Drake Milligan rode the success of the first original on the show with another hit of his own. Lily Meola’s first song – called “Daydream” – was obviously good enough to earn the golden buzzer, and Klum disagrees with Simon Cowell about “Butterfly” being a step up from her audition. 

Since Lily Meola was the final performer of the night and the episode was live, the judges didn’t have time to do much banter and debate right after she finished her song, so Heidi Klum’s comments shed some light on what viewers didn’t get to hear at the end of the broadcast. While Sofia Vergara had compliments for Meola, Howie Mandel (who shared his thoughts on another competitor affecting ventriloquist Jack Williams’ chances) thought that she might not have gone big enough to beat all the competition on the night.

Whether or not her AGT journey is over is decided in the results episode on Wednesday, August 31 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC. Only one round of qualifiers is left before America’s Got Talent airs the finale, and fans have yet to see Sofia Vergara’s golden buzzer pick, so dance group Mayyas is still on the way. Wild card winner Jordan Conley will have a second shot as well after winning the audience vote.

America’s Got Talent is deep into the live shows of Season 17, although the qualifiers present a twist this year. Instead of slowing cutting the groups of semi-finalists down, each of the 55 acts who advanced from the auditions have just one shot to make it to the grand finale for the chance at $1 million and a Las Vegas stage show. The acts have to be bigger, bolder, and more dazzling for viewers, but do fans and voters miss out on the spectacle by not watching live in person? Judges Howie Mandel and Heidi Klum shared their thoughts with CinemaBlend, and they don’t 100% agree. 

The two judges spoke with CinemaBlend and other outlets following the second night of live qualifiers, with the eleven acts soon to be cut down to just two. When I asked if they thought that viewers were missing anything by watching on their TVs from home as opposed to live in person, Howie Mandel specifically mentioned acrobatic act Duo Rings, who closed out their latest performance with a drop right in front of the judges. He shared his thoughts, saying:: 

Duo Rings were pretty spectacular in their live performance, to the point that it would have been shocking that they were cut before the finale if the night hadn’t been stacked with fan-favorites and golden buzzer winners. Madison Taylor Baez (who I ranked in the middle of the pack of golden buzzer winners most likely to win) was cut and she was definitely a fan-favorite. 

The two moving on are country music group Chapel Hart after they went for a sassier original song and magician Yu Hojin. Music and magic acts are definitely easier to experience on the small screen than an acrobatic act, based on what Howie Mandel had to say! Singers and magicians tend to be popular with AGT voters, so Duo Rings’ fate may have been sealed by viewers not being able to fully experience the drops in person. 

That said, Heidi Klum has a different perspective on whether fans are missing anything by watching from home as opposed to right in front of the action. She said:

While the experience of watching AGT live in person is “thrilling,” according to Heidi Klum, it’s not possible to see every detail up close or the benefit of an instant replay like what viewers get from home. Even though voters can only use the reactions of the judges and audience to gauge what it was really like, they do have some advantages in their TV screens. Klum continued her comparisons:

America’s Got Talent was one of the many shows that made changes in light of COVID protocols, which meant some virtual auditions and an absent audience in the previous season. Episodes did include a combination of real shots, virtual shots, and shots from past seasons to create the illusion that AGT was back to normal. Audiences are officially back for Season 17, which has evidently been “fun” for Heidi Klum.

But would acts like Duo Rings have been more fun in person, to the point that they would have gotten enough votes to advance if more people could get the full experience? Howie Mandel seems to think that they’re more of a thrill live, but you can judge for yourself with the video of their qualifiers performance:

The qualifiers are still going, and several of the golden buzzer winners still have yet to perform for their shot at making the finale. Madison Taylor Baez being cut is proof that the buzzer is no guarantee at advancement, and stand-up comic Jordan Conley is back in the mix after winning the wildcard vote. Spoilers ahead for the June 28 episode of America’s Got Talent Season 17 auditions. 

The auditions round of America’s Got Talent has almost come to an end, and the fifth week of this round delivered the fifth and final golden buzzer of Season 17. After Terry Crews delivered the first back in the premiere, Heidi Klum saved hers for a very special performer who fans finally got to see on June 28. In fact, singer Lily Meola’s emotional performance packed such a punch that Klum actually changed her mind about hitting the golden buzzer this season. 

Lily Meola took the stage with a song called “Daydream,” but she had the judges and the audience invested even before the first note. She shared the story of how her life and career were looking up when she got some heartbreaking news with her mother’s cancer diagnosis, and she became the full-time caretaker until her mom passed away. 

Her mom's diagnosis resulted in the loss of her record deal, but she decided that it was “a bit of a blessing” because it gave her extra time to be there for her. After admitting that she would have a hard time singing after losing her mom who was her “biggest cheerleader,” she began her song anyway, and it was enough to blow Heidi Klum’s mind. Take a look:

Lily Meola may have made it through the song without crying, but that’s probably not the case for everybody watching. The lyrics were emotional on their own; combined with her story, they made her performance one of the most impactful of the night. All four judges were clearly fans of her performance, so it’s safe to say that it’s not quite as divisive as an act from the previous episode! Heidi Klum certainly felt that she stood out enough that she decided to break her own rule for Season 17 and hit the golden buzzer. 

After Meola finished her song before she got the wonderful surprise of the golden buzzer, Klum said that the singer just lit up on stage and she “fell in love” with her as soon as she heard her sing. Then, the judge dropped the big news about how Meola changed what she'd intended for Season 17: 

Heidi Klum certainly has a point about seeing a lot of singers on America’s Got Talent, and three of the other four golden buzzer winners of Season 17 were musicians. Although Terry Crews’ selection was of a saxophonist rather than a singer, Howie Mandel hit his buzzer for the 11-year-old powerhouse singer who put the “amazing” in “Amazing Grace,” and Simon Cowell made a teenage singer’s dream come true when she came all the way from Poland to perform. Fans won’t see Lily Meola again until the live shows round of competition since Heidi Klum guaranteed that she would move ahead, but there are still plenty of talented acts on the way. While this was initially intended to be a largely positive and exciting week for all things America's Got Talent, with NBC debuting the highly anticipated Extreme spinoff, things instead took a more melancholy turn when the news went public that former contestant and viral inspiration Nightbirde passed away after a long battle with cancer. While none of the AGT judges that showered the late talent with praise were able to voice their condolences on the pre-taped Extreme premiere, stars Howie Mandel, Sofia Vergara, Terry Crews and Heidi Klum all shared heartfelt responses to the sad news.

Though Simon Cowell was arguably Nightbirde’s biggest champion during her audition back in 2021, granting her his Golden Buzzer in that episode, the America’s Got Talent creator has yet to share a public reaction to the news of her death. However, everyone else from the show took to social media soon after the news broke. 

On Twitter, Howie Mandel shares how much of an inspiration Nightbirde was and is, despite not being such a major part of everyone’s lives during her brief AGT journey, and he’s grateful for the time he had, saying:

Meanwhile, Mandel’s America’s Got Talent co-judge Sofia Vergara took to her Instagram Stories to share the pic and message below. 

Terry Crews, who balanced AGT hosting duties with his Brooklyn Nine-Nine starring role until the cop-centric comedy ended in 2021, took to Instagram with a loving post in Nightbirde’s memory.  

While she may have had the least to say, message-wise, the pie-loving Heidi Klum made up for it in style, sharing the imagery below on her Instagram Stories:

Not to be outdone by all of the show’s stars, the official America’s Got Talent Twitter page also posted a touching message on Twitter spotlighting Nightbirde’s memory.

It was announced by someone close to the singer that Nightbirde passed away on Saturday, February 19, after her cancer had spread to her spine, liver and lungs. She’d been receiving treatment for the disease for months, but sadly was not able to pull out ahead this time, despite having gone cancer-free temporarily in the past. She’d gained national attention after her successful AGT audition aired, but sadly had to pull out of the competition due to health concerns, with Simon Cowell offering a public update on her situation during that season’s finale back in September 2021. 

With its previously injured contestant now back on the healthy side of things, America’s Got Talent: Extreme airs Monday nights on NBC at 8:00 p.m. ET, while fans can revisit Nightbirde’s memorable performances via YouTube clips. The final round of America's Got Talent's Season 16 quarterfinals came to an end with the latest episode, and the good news for judge Heidi Klum was that her golden buzzer pick was advanced to the semifinals after audience votes were tallied. The bad news was that Simon Cowell took issue with Klum's quick-change magician Léa Kyle, insofar as he believes her audition was better than her quarterfinals performance. Following Kyle's second act of America's Got Talent, Klum opened up with her thoughts on her golden buzzer pick's moves as well as Cowell's "grumpy" response.

Heidi Klum spoke with CinemaBlend and other outlets on a virtual red carpet immediately following the live episode on Tuesday night, and she enthusiastically shared her opinion on how Léa Kyle did with her quarterfinals performance:

As Heidi Klum acknowledged, Léa Kyle did run into a slight snag in her performance early on, when her first attempt to kick off a boot and transition to another didn't work. Kyle nailed it on the second attempt, however, and didn't miss a beat, to the point that it almost seemed like it was a planned part of the act. She also incorporated fire and fog and a lot of movement into her performance, so there really was the kind of spectacle that wouldn't seem out of place on a stage in Las Vegas.

Plus, I've watched both of her AGT performances more than once, and I still don't know how she pulls it off, let alone sews it all herself and nails all the timing to the music! Heidi Klum elaborated on why she chose Kyle as her individual golden buzzer of Season 16, and stands by that decision:

Three of the original five golden buzzers of Season 16 did go to either a singer or a musical group, so Heidi Klum definitely has a point about how singers tend to do very well with judges and voters alike. In fact, when the judges made history this season by coming together for an unprecedented sixth golden buzzer as a group, it was in honor of another singer who honestly could go on to win it all. Simon Cowell's golden buzzer, Nightbirde, sadly had to withdraw from competition for health reasons.

It was Simon Cowell of the judges who was the most critical when it comes to Léa Kyle's quarterfinals performance, although he still said that she's a "real star." He just expected her to be better. It was certainly not the first time since the auditions stage that Cowell and Heidi Klum had very different opinions regarding some unconventional performers. Klum commented on Cowell's comments that he thought Kyle's audition was better than her second performance:

Heidi Klum referenced Klek Entos as another act who didn't exactly delight Simon Cowell on the final night of quarterfinals, and Klek Entos is of course the magician who knows how to spin a scary story as well as deliver some tricks that are hard to explain. He even recruited Terry Crews and Sofia Vergara to participate on stage, but he didn't get much more than a minute in before Cowell buzzed him. I for one didn't actually disagree with Cowell about Klek Entos taking a long time to get to the climax of his act, but the buzzer did come pretty early. And hey, at least Léa Kyle didn't get a buzzer in the middle of her act!

As for Léa Kyle herself, the quick-change magician had to face her highest stakes of AGT Season 16 to date with her fate lying in the hands of the voters, rather than Heidi Klum advancing her straight to the next round. Kyle shared how she felt going into her performance knowing that she had received that golden buzzer from Klum:

Heidi Klum was clearly extremely proud of Léa Kyle after her second performance, and Kyle will have a third to try and prove to Simon Cowell that she didn't peak with her audition act. For what it was worth, the audience did boo Cowell when he made his critique, so it's possible that viewers and voters will remain on Kyle's side even if she doesn't always get unanimous approval from the judges, like what Victory Brinker and, more recently, World Taekwondo Demonstration Team received.

The competition is down to the best of the best at this point, so all of the remaining performers will have to go above and beyond if they want to stay in the running for the $1 million prize and Las Vegas stage show.

Acting as a judge on America's Got Talent might not be the most difficult gig in the world, but that doesn't mean it's easy. There are always a lot of tough decisions to make when one holds people's hopes and dreams in one's hands, as the judges on AGT so frequently do, and it makes sense that Heidi Klum would take some time out before the live shows kick into high gear, to relax and sunbathe nude.

America's Got Talent Season 16 has been rolling along for about a month and a half now, and with the live shows set to start in the second week of August, now is as good of a time as any for judges Sofia Vergara, Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, and Simon Cowell to get as much relaxed time in as possible before the popular competition begins airing two nights a week. With that, Klum, who's now in her eighth season as a judge on AGT, recently posted a snap to Instagram to show off the nude sunbathing time she's using to help her relax. Take a look!

OK, I know most of you are probably peeping Heidi Klum's assorted body parts while looking at this photo, and that is both understandable, and clearly what the long-time supermodel / host was after when she posted this shot of her reclining in the carefully covered buff. But, the thing I notice most about this picture has nothing to do with Klum's flat stomach or well-guarded nipples. Instead, I'm struck by how uncomfortable this pose looks.

Maybe it's just the angle that the photograph was taken at, but doesn't Heidi Klum's long form look sort of crunched up here? The fact that her legs are bent in toward each other likely doesn't help, but look at how her head is laying against that back cushion. This might just be my inner old lady talking, but I cannot imagine being able to get up from that position without both a sore neck and a screwy back.

Also? Look at Heidi Klum's non-boob covering hand. Does it look to anyone else like she put it there for the best position in the photo, but then it fell asleep and she had to shake it out just to be able to put her clothes back on? Of course, Klum could have a whole team of people who follow her around and put her clothes on for her, so it's possible that having body parts fall into temporary uselessness isn't really a problem for the modeling / reality show royalty.

I could be way off base about this. Not only is Klum a pro who's likely been in a lot of uncomfortable situations just for the sake of a cool photo, but I can see her also being used to getting out of those uncomfortable positions really fast. Luckily, Heidi Klum still has plenty of time for a lot of nude sunbathing before she'll be due on the America's Got Talent set for the second half of Season 16 and all of those thrilling live episodes.

Season 16 of America's Got Talent has delivered some of the most talented acts of the series to date, but not all of the performers can be Golden Buzzer winners or show up with an amazing singing dog. Still, sometimes it's the performers with the most unique acts who are the most memorable. In the latest episode, Melodie Blaize introduced herself as somebody who cuts clothes for a living, and she called on judge Heidi Klum for an assist that involved Klum's clothes getting snipped to pieces, and Klum had a fun reaction to it.

Of course, Melodie Blaize didn't cut off Heidi Klum's own stylish outfit that she wore to judge America's Got Talent, but decked her out in a bright pink t-shirt that I for one never would have expected to see on the supermodel. Klum was game for the challenge, dancing and posing along to Right Said Fred's "I'm Too Sexy" while Blaize cut holes in the shirt to reveal that Klum wasn't wearing much underneath.

While fellow judges Howie Mandel, Sofia Vergara, and the healed Simon Cowell seemed to be feeling varying degrees of awkwardness, Heidi Klum showed off her supermodel strut, tossing her hair and everything, to the point that Vergara joked that she was going to give her a Golden Buzzer. To contrast, Cowell hit the big red X before Melodie Blaize even finished cutting Klum's clothes into a whole new look.

It was pretty clear that Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, and even the amused Sofia Vergara weren't going to vote Melodie Blaize ahead in the competition, but the question was whether Klum was just putting a smile on for the audience while getting her clothes snipped away or truly did appreciate what Blaize brought to the AGT stage. Klum settled the question, saying:

Heidi Klum also said "I'm sorry" when Melodie Blaize got the news that she wouldn't have enough votes to move forward in the competition. And honestly, as much as I got a kick out of Blaize's very unique act, I can't say that I disagree with Sofia Vergara in her stance that it wasn't quite an AGT performance. Still, I had fun watching her turn Klum's oversized and very bright t-shirt into something more fit for a fashion show, complete with Klum showing off that she can turn any place into a runway if she struts her stuff.

Unfortunately for any fans who wanted to see what other kinds of looks that Melodie Blaize would be able to make with just a pair of scissors and a t-shirt (or perhaps try to recruit one of the other judges to model), she didn't get enough votes to move forward in America's Got Talent Season 16.

Still, there were a lot of great acts this episode, and Heidi Klum actually used her Golden Buzzer on another fashion-related performer: quick change artist Léa Kyle, whose act was so impressive that it seemed more like magic than a quick change. Given how many original TV shows debut on a yearly basis, it's no surprise that many of the projects end up feeling similar to one another. The same can't be said for America's Got Talent, though, which even stands apart from other talent-based competition shows given how wildly unique its acts can be from season to season. One element that doesn't tend to change up very much is Simon Cowell's presence behind the judges' table, and though he did have to opt out the back chunk of Season 15 episodes due to breaking his back, he's totes back for Season 16, and there's more proof!

NBC released the first official look at America's Got Talent Season 16, with Simon Cowell joined by his co-stars Sofia Vergara, Heidi Klum and Howie Mandell. The pec-popping host Terry Crews shared the first pic on Instagram, cluing fans in on the show being back in production now for a new season of comedy, acrobatics, magic, ventriloquism, dancing, and likely a whole lot more. Unsurprisingly, breaking his back in that electric motorbike accident did not inspire Simon Cowell to completely change up his traditional America's Got Talent attire by wearing a bright pink tuxedo. Rather, he kept to his habits by donning an all-black shirt while the other judges got a bit more colorful with their outfits. That said, even if Cowell's back doesn't hurt that much anymore, wearing a loose-fitting shirt is still magnitudes more comfortable than wearing something formal, especially under glaring TV stage lights.

While there wasn't that much worry fluttering about as of late, the period immediately after Simon Cowell's injury in 2020 was full of unknowns, as fans wondered whether he'd be able to return to his busy TV career. As it turns out, no such injury could keep Cowell down for the count, although his flagship series Britain's Got Talent did go down via cancellation in the interim. We probably shouldn't expect to see Cowell being more physically active on America's Got Talent itself, but at least viewers can take comfort in knowing he could do it if he needed to.

America's Got Talent Season 16 will be the first one to go into production with COVID protocols intact, since the industry-wide shutdowns in 2020 went down in the midst of the NBC series' production. As such, the producers had to make vast changes to the try-outs by implementing totally virtual auditions, which we spoke to former champ Darci Lynne Farmer about. It remains to be seen just how wild and crazy the acts could get via Zoom calls and phone videos, but I'm betting there won't be a very noticeable dip in over-the-top performances.

With Simon Cowell back behind the judging frontlines for Season 16, America's Got Talent will return to NBC on Tuesday, June 1, at 8:00 p.m. ET.

Simon Cowell has notably been missing from his America’s Got Talent judge's chair since August. After breaking his back in an electric motorbike accident, Cowell underwent surgery and has been nearly completely absent from the public eye. With America’s Got Talent headed into its finale this week, will Cowell return for an appearance? Heidi Klum may have the inside scoop.

The show has gone on without Simon Cowell in recent weeks, but America’s Got Talent hasn’t forgotten him in his absence. He got roasted by one former contestant, and during the Season 15 quarterfinals, judge Howie Mandel even paid tribute to him with a Cowell puppet. It was kinda weird, sure, but it served as a reminder that Cowell was still a part of the show in spirit. Though it’s been weeks since anyone last saw Cowell on the show, Heidi Klum expected him to be back quite soon. Here’s what she told Mirror.co.uk:

It’s too late, the cat’s out of the bag! Of course, Heidi Klum didn’t elaborate on the details of his return, so it’s hard to say whether Simon Cowell will actually show up to the America’s Got Talent set in person, or if he’ll just call into the show via video. It’s also unclear if Cowell take part in judging for the finals at all.

But just in case that wasn't quite enough proof, fellow judge Howie Mandel also said he wouldn’t “count out seeing” Cowell before the end of the season. So it certainly sounds like he’ll at least be back in some capacity, though likely not to join in any acrobatic routines.

In the aftermath of his fall off of his electric vehicle, Simon Cowell made light of the situation and joked that anyone thinking of riding one should obviously read the manual first. The message indicated that Cowell was doing well mentally, all things considered. Following his surgery, Cowell was reportedly recovering at his home in Malibu.

However, a source allegedly implied that his back injury was more serious than we thought and that there was fear he will now continue to have issues with the three vertebrae he reportedly broke in the accident. I think it’s possible that Simon Cowell will indeed appear during the America’s Got Talent finals, if only to assure fans that he's still living and breathing.

While he’s been recovering, American Idol alum Kelly Clarkson and Saturday Night Live’s Kenan Thompson have filled in for him as judges. They did really well in their guest roles and even offered advice on how certain competitors could improve their acts. I think Clarkson and Thompson’s stints on the show actually proved that the judging on America’s Got Talent needed to change every once in a while.

It's pretty easy to look at celebrities, see the awesome perks that come along with being famous, and then decide that they've lucked into the easiest lives possible. But, we all probably know by now that, even the rich and famous have their troubles, and sometimes those issues come simply because they are public people. Unfortunately, Heidi Klum had a scare recently, which involved her home being visited by a man who said that Jesus had actually sent him there.

Here's what went down. According to TMZ, Heidi Klum was at home in Los Angeles over the weekend when a man came to her house and began pounding on the front door. Apparently, he was also yelling about having been sent to the house by Jesus, which is enough to scare some very not-safe-for-church words out of anyone. Luckily enough, Klum never actually had to interact with the man, because someone else answered the door.

Obviously, the police were called to the scene, but by the time they arrived at Klum's house, the man had gone away. But, once the police did a search of the area, they found him walking down the street, and stopped him to see if he was, in fact, the person they were looking for. After speaking with the unidentified man for a few minutes, the police felt he was suffering from mental health issues and decided to place him under a 5150 psychiatric hold, so that he could be properly evaluated and treated.

Aside from the man now, hopefully, getting the help he needs and Heidi Klum not having to confront him, the police now believe that he was simply confused, ended up at her door randomly, and was not actually attempting to target Klum for any nefarious purposes.

Man, this is all very scary, but it's good that the situation was able to be worked out, and that Heidi Klum and her family weren't actually being watched or followed by this man. Celebrities are no strangers to having stalkers or others invade their lives who have either dangerous intent toward them, have mental health problems and believe they have some right to be with or near those celebrities, or just want to get into their homes to see if they can nab some expensive items.

In just the past couple of years, WWE stars Sonya Deville and Bret “The Hitman” Hart either had their homes broken into by obsessed fans or were actually attacked. In May of this year, singer Billie Eilish had to file for a restraining order against a fan who kept visiting her parents, while musician John Mayer had to get a restraining order against a fan who had been harassing him and his team for several months in August of 2019. And, that's just the tip of the scary iceberg when it comes to dangerous fan behavior.

It's truly lucky that everything turned out alright for Heidi Klum, so she can handle her America's Got Talent judging duties without having to look over her shoulder. The latest round of semi-finals was the last chance for America’s Got Talent's remaining contestants to really impress the judges ahead of the finals. Some of the contestants did a tremendous job and won over Heidi Klum, Sofia Vergara, and Howie Mandel, and escape artist Jonathan Goodwin even managed a death-defying and dangerous act that left viewers pretty shocked. However, mentalist and magician Max Major seemed to have a major slip-up during his act that led to fans calling him out as a fraud, and it wasn’t pretty.

During Tuesday’s live show, America’s Got Talent contestant Max Major asked the judges and members of the virtual audience to choose random numbers for his act. However, when one girl appeared to call out the number 13, but Major went ahead and claimed she'd said "14," which worked better for his act.

Max Major revealed that he’d already placed a bet and bought a lottery ticket before the show with all six numbers that the judges and audience had chosen. (Half-ironically, the roulette spin landed on the number 13.) Fans caught the mistake and were not thrilled that Major disregarded the girl’s number choice to make his illusion work. One fan called him a fraud on Twitter, and they weren't alone.

I watched the act myself, and the audience member seemed to very clearly state a different number than what Max Major presumably heard. Making it worse, and all the more awkward, is that no one corrected him and the America’s Got Talent judges even looked downright confused about the whole thing. Perhaps it might have been different under prerecorded circumstances, but someone should have raised a concern or two. That said, I completely understand why fans (like the one below) called out not just Major, but the competition show for letting it slide.

Meanwhile, another fan had to go back and replay the moment to ensure that they’d heard what the girl said correctly.

I don’t know about you, but when fans are collectively hearing the same number, it’s impossible not to think something and/or someone was being sketchy. And the fan below didn't like that very much either.

There is some debate on Twitter about which number the girl did actually say, but many seem to feel like it ruined the act and outed Max Major as a fake. Plus, one fan even posted a screenshot of closed captioning to show that the girl said "13." For those who were going to vote for him, the number debacle changed their mind.

This isn’t the first time Max Major has been called out about a presumably shady act. A few weeks ago, Major predicted that the judges and the virtual audience would draw a sun because his interview video apparently included subliminal messages. One alleged member of the virtual audience claimed that they had been told to draw a sun before Major took to the stage. A fan on Twitter also wondered about how genuine Major’s act was when they drew something different.

It sure sounds like something fishy is going on, though no one at America’s Got Talent has confirmed anything either way (and I doubt they’d come out and say it anyway). I suppose we’ll have to wait and see what happens next, assuming there isn't someone out there who already knows.

America's Got Talent has officially determined the first round of competitors who will make it to the finals, each getting one big step closer to the grand prize. The latest results episode would determine the fates of some of the highest-profile acts of Season 15, including spoken word poet Brandon Leake. The Dunkin' Save round was the element of the episode to watch, however, with three very different yet formidable acts on the block: death-dropping aerialist Alan Silva, singer Archie Williams, and drummer Malik Dope.

Alan Silva won the viewer vote with the Dunkin' Save, so it fell to the judges to choose between Archie Williams and Malik Dope. This marked the second time Dope was in the bottom two with his AGT fate in the hands of the judges in Season 15, and it was also his last. Although judge Howie Mandel voted for Dope to advance to the finals, Sofia Vergara and Heidi Klum both voted for Williams. With no Simon Cowell, who is still absent from AGT due to his back injury, the final vote was 2-1, with Williams moving on.

While no act could have gotten this far in a season of America's Got Talent without packing a talented punch and both acts up for elimination were worthy of praise, I wouldn't be surprised if Archie Williams' advancement is a bit divisive among fans due to why the judges voted the way they did.

Sofia Vergara had such a hard time choosing between Archie Williams and Malik Dope that she could ultimately only point at Williams, but she went with the singer over the drummer. Although Howie Mandel voted for Malik Dope, he did clarify for viewers that Williams teared up in his previous performance because he was surprised by a picture of his daughter and couldn't get his composure. Dope got Mandel's vote ultimately because of his originality.

So, why did Heidi Klum drop the deciding vote for Archie Williams? Klum told Malik Dope that he has a bright future ahead of him regardless of what happened in the vote, and then told Archie that "you have had most of your life taken away from you" and that she wasn't going to do it to him again, so she chose him. Klum was of course referring to Williams' decades in prison after wrongful incarceration, and he was all smiles and gratitude in response.

While I certainly won't argue that Archie Williams didn't deserve the win, it is worth noting that he is sticking around due to his story as well as his talent. Would the vote have gone differently otherwise? I do wish that both acts had been able to stick around to the finals.

Between his voice, his story, and his snazzy suits, Archie Williams has been a joy to watch during Season 15. As for Malik Dope, I'm with Howie Mandel on appreciating his originality in delivering an act that hasn't been done time and time again on AGT. Hopefully Heidi Klum is right and Dope does indeed have a bright future ahead of him!

Season 15 of America’s Got Talent is in full swing, and things got a bit heated during the latest round of quarterfinals performances. Comedian Usama Siddiquee was in the midst of telling a joke and it seemed like he had the judges in his court. That is, until Siddiquee called Heidi Klum a “tramp” as a part of his comedy set concerning music and feminism. Despite the disapproval of Klum and audience members, however, the comedian is standing by his joke.

During Tuesday night’s episode, Usama Siddiquee took to the America’s Got Talent stage to, well, show off his talent, and his jokes were generally hitting the mark with judges Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel, and Sofia Vergara. Mandel even praised Siddiquee’s set. The questionable turn came when Siddiquee addressed Klum, saying that while it wouldn’t go over well if he called her a tramp on any given day, she might not take it as offensively if he did it while in the middle of a club with a good beat playing behind the words. Speaking with ET, Siddiquee confirms that he wouldn’t take back what he said. In his words:

Usama Siddiquee is certainly taking the Ricky Gervais route by not apologizing for making a joke that was perceived as offensive and sexist, saying his joke was targeted more at modern music than anything else. The America’s Got Talent comedian goes on to add that comedy always incites “visceral reactions” from people, but that he had nothing but love for Heidi Klum and the rest of the judges.

Speaking of Heidi Klum, the long-time judge was certainly not a fan of Usama Siddiquee’s tramp joke. I believe the pursed-lipped, serious expression she had on her face while watching his act made that clear. Here’s what Klum had to say about Siddiquee’s tramp joke:

America’s Got Talent Season 15 has already proven to be unpredictable, with a shocking elimination during Wednesday night’s results. The competition’s stakes are rising, and there's still no sign of Simon Cowell's return following his back surgery a few weeks ago. We’ll just have to wait and see what the next episode of America’s Got Talent will bring.

America's Got Talent aired what may be its most contentious episode of Season 15 so far as Heidi Klum is under fire for seemingly body-shaming a young competitor. Amanda LaCount came on the talent program to showcase her dancing, and in the process, attempt to break the mold on what the expected body type is for a professional dancer.

Amanda LaCount's performance began with her telling the judges about her journey so far, and how she'd been rejected from dance teams ever since she was a child due to her body type. She stuck with it regardless, and hoped to change some minds by appearing on America's Got Talent. With Simon Cowell's encouragement, the 19-year-old unleashed her performance on the world, and was a quick hit with the audience.

The crowd and two of the judges (Cowell and Sofia Vergara) were behind the performance, but it seemed clear Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel weren't fans. The difference between the two is that Mandel waited until the end to share his criticisms, while Klum, knowing the story of Amanda LaCount and the adversity she faced, hit her buzzer around 40 seconds into the performance. Afterward Klum commented on the performance, and weirdly enough, had mostly positive things to say.

Heidi Klum made it clear she liked the dancing, spirit, energy, and vibe of Amanda LaCount, but it's what the supermodel (who had a recent health scare) didn't say which had viewers wondering what exactly she didn't like.

The criticism that Amanda LaCount wasn't a "million dollar act" was a bit bizarre, especially considering this is still the auditions. Most of these early advancing acts aren't worthy of a million dollars, but they continue on for entertainment and to boost whatever post-America's Got Talent careers they make for themselves elsewhere. It seemed like a cop out, and perhaps Heidi Klum saving face after realizing she and the crowd weren't on the same page.

Regardless of Heidi Klum's opinion of the act, many believe she stepped over the line in hitting the buzzer for a contestant who clearly laid out her fears and insecurities as a dancer. It was unnecessary and felt like a subtle reaffirmation of all the things Amanda LaCount had heard in the past.

The moment feels especially mean considering the "red X" was uncharacteristic for Heidi Klum in the rest of the episode. There were plenty other acts that came and went in the episode, and Klum didn't feel the need to "X" them out even when the performance wasn't quite what it should be. Yes, I'm referring to the comedy magicians who don't actually do magic.

It should be noted at this point that Amanda LaCount is not quite the small town unknown dancer America's Got Talent portrayed her as. She's a notable dancer in Hollywood, and has recently appeared in projects like Lady Gaga's "Stupid Love" music video, The Little Mermaid Live!, and Ariana Grande's "Thank U, Next." And that's just the tip of the iceberg, really, as LaCount has appeared and danced in notable shows and music videos in Hollywood as far back as 2015.

The point being, she's a professional dancer talented enough to be recognized for notable projects. The dance may not have been the best America's Got Talent has ever seen, but it was certainly good enough to avoid a red "X" in my opinion and others.

Heidi Klum did not comment on the episode on Twitter, though neither did any of the other judges of America's Got Talent. It will be interesting to see if Klum will respond to the criticism, or just press on hoping the controversy dies in the following days.

As the coronavirus pandemic continues to affect the country, multiple studios are either shutting down or suspending their TV productions until further notice. While Tom Hanks and wife Rita Wilson are currently being treated after testing positive for coronavirus while working in Australia, others haven’t been so lucky in getting assistance. America’s Got Talent judge Heidi Klum says she is worried she might have the virus, but, like so many in the U.S., hasn’t been able to get tested.

Recently, Heidi Klum recorded a video that she posted to her Instagram story, explaining the reasons behind her absence from the show this past week. The judge stated that she is “not feeling good.” Klum does look ill in the story, lying in her bed while speaking to her followers about her decision to “stay home to not infect other people.” The America’s Got Talent judge recently revealed (via People) that she’s been experiencing a variety of symptoms, including a cough and runny nose. She says she is also “feeling feverish.” As a precaution, Klum says she tried to get tested for coronavirus to be sure. However, she has been unsuccessful in her endeavor. In her words:

Well, that’s alarming! Heidi Klum went home on Tuesday, opting to leave the America’s Got Talent set because of her symptoms. She didn’t return for the taping on Wednesday this week, so Modern Family star Eric Stonestreet stepped in to fill her role as judge. While she hopes her symptoms are just that of a normal cold and nothing more, she urges everyone to stay at home if they are not feeling well. It’s definitely a smart call, considering that the virus continues to spread and how hard it has been to get coronavirus testing done in a timely manner.

What’s more, America’s Got Talent has followed in the same vein as other live shows, including The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and HBO’s Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, in going ahead without a live studio audience for the foreseeable future. With so many shows halting production and being cautious, these decisions are par for the course at this point.

Personally, I also hope that Heidi Klum is just experiencing a regular cold and that she feels better soon. In the meantime, it’s for the best that Klum remains isolated at home until she is able to get tested for coronavirus.

America's Got Talent made major headlines at the end of Season 14 when the two newest judges, Gabrielle Union and Julianne Hough, were controversially dropped after one season. While the circumstances that led to their firings are still being debated, AGT has landed on its two replacement judges. One will return to the judges' table while the other is a newcomer. Here's who's on the way!

Heidi Klum is rejoining Simon Cowell and Howie Mandel after taking a break from judging a regular season of America's Got Talent. As for the newcomer, AGT fans can look forward to seeing Modern Family's Sofia Vergara jump from ABC to NBC to help Klum, Cowell, and Mandel evaluate the most (and least) talented hopefuls who come to the show. The rumors were true!

Sofia Vergara, who won't leave the small screen after all despite the upcoming end of Modern Family after a very long run, weighed in on how it feels to join America's Got Talent:

Sofia Vergara seems very excited to join the AGT team and bring a fresh perspective to judging the contestants, and she's not the only one. Heidi Klum stated that Vergara joining America's Got Talent is "the icing on an already delicious cake," while NBC Entertainment's president of Alternative and Reality TV Meredith Ahr said that Vergara's energy and wit "blend perfectly with returning favorites."

Meredith Ahr also named reasons why Sofia Vergara is a good fit, saying that as "a respected actress and successful entrepreneur," Vergara "embodies the American dream that is synonymous with AGT’s transformative stage."

Sofia Vergara should certainly shake up the dynamic in some interesting ways, given that the rest of the Season 15 team (including host Terry Crews) are all veterans at this point. Some fresh blood could be a very good thing, especially after the events that allegedly resulted in Gabrielle Union and Julianne Hough's firings. Vergara also is a big name on the small screen, so anything she has to say about her treatment at AGT (good or bad) could carry a lot of weight.

As for Heidi Klum, she won't be out of AGT practice when the time comes to start Season 15. Although she left as a judge on regular seasons of America's Got Talent after Season 13 (which also saw the departure of Mel B), she served as a judge on the second seaason of America's Got Talent: The Champions.

Unfortunately for any AGT fans energized by the news of Sofia Vergara signing on and Heidi Klum returning, America's Got Talent won't return for Season 15 on NBC until the summer. The Project Runway motto "one day you're in and the next day you're out" matched a little too perfectly to host Heidi Klum and mentor Tim Gunn. Project Runway is now airing Season 18 on Bravo, but fans still miss Heidi and Tim. The pair left after Season 16, before the Lifetime show made its move back to Bravo with a new host and mentor. Why did they leave Project Runway? To start their own show, Making the Cut, on Amazon. That show is finally ready to premiere March 27 on Amazon.

To promote Making the Cut during the TCAs, Heidi Klum explained why she decided it was time to jump ship from Project Runway, and convinced Tim Gunn and producer Sara Rea to jump with her.

And so they jumped together, and called Sara Rea, who is now the executive producer of Making the Cut.

Making the Cut has several differences from Project Runway. For one thing, it's global and instantly shoppable, with the winning look from each episode available on Amazon Fashion in the Making the Cut store. The winning designer from the finale will earn a $1 million prize to invest in their brand, and an opportunity to create an exclusive line on Amazon Fashion.

That Amazon can afford something like a $1 million prize -- and send designers around the world -- was part of the appeal over Project Runway. As Heidi Klum added:

In terms of how her hands felt tied at Project Runway, Heidi Klum mentioned the show set up a formula in Season 1 that they felt compelled to continue in Season 2 and beyond.

Each winning look on Making the Cut will cost around $100 or less, and the inclusive sizes are said to go from triple-X small to triple-X large, and some actually extra-large.

The 10-episode fashion competition series will visit New York, Park, and Tokyo, with designers facing challenges that test their abilities to run an entire business. Unlike Project Runway, Making the Cut will show designers working with seamstresses -- so they won't have to sewn their own garments.

That was something Tim and Heidi had to get used to, since construction is always key for designers on Project Runway. As Tim Gunn put it during the TCA winter press tour:

Joseph Altuzarra is one of the judges and he said it was very exciting to him that Making the Cut wasn't going to be a sewing competition, it was about finding the next global brand.

Other judges on Making the Cut include Naomi Campbell, Nicole Richie, Carine Roitfeld, and Chiara Ferragni. Making the Cut premieres March 27, 2020, with two episodes airing weekly over the course of five weeks only on Amazon Prime Video. I tried. I'm still trying to Make It Work. I've seen every season of Project Runway and was thrilled to see the show move back "home" to Bravo for Season 17, even without Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn. I didn't boycott the show from their absence. I gave it a chance, and I'm always rooting for Christian Siriano. Change can be good.

But this season is just off.

It's not just one thing. I do think it's a combination of the judges' opinions, the challenges, the designs, the designers' comments on "curvy" models, the mentoring, the unfocused role of stylist Marni Senofonte, and the lack of anything like Tim Gunn or The Tim Gunn Save.

The lack of Tim Gunn alone is a flaw. His guidance, his honesty, his "I'm concerned" face, his questions without telling the designers what to do, just his presence. Christian Siriano was never really meant to replace him, he's taking a different approach as a designer himself, but as a mentor we could use the steady hand of Tim Gunn.

Nina Garcia is the only judge returning from the previous rendition of Project Runway. She was apparently sick and absent from the judging of the May 2 episode. I wish I had called in sick and missed it too. Almost all of the frustrations I've felt about Season 17 so far showed up in this week's episode. I consider Episode 8, "Blame It On Rio," a near total disaster -- except for seeing actress Morena Baccarin on screen.

Team challenges are better known for drama than for bringing out the best in Project Runway designers. Season 17's three teams were not very successful in creating mini collections for Morena Baccarin. But it was baffling to see the judges deem the best collection "safe." (Christian Siriano tweeted that he also disagreed with the judges on the top team.)

It's not new for Project Runway's judges to choose an early favorite I just don't quite get, and Hester Sunshine is that favorite for Season 17. I know I am not the only one who did not understand why her Rio bathing suit won. Tessa Clark's comments can occasionally grate -- there's an open condescension in general this season against curvy women and older women -- but I shared Tessa's confusion on Hester's winning look. And so we lost Renee Hill, in part because we couldn't lose Jamall, who had immunity from the last challenge.

I'm not a fan of immunity in a team challenge without the safeguard of something like a Tim Gunn save. If I were going to save someone this season, it probably would've been Afa Ah Loo a few episodes ago, but either way, the episode just left me confused on every front. Confused about the judges' favorite team. Confused about the judges' favorite look. Confused about who to root for at this point, with the judges seeming most high on Hester, who is giving me Season 15 Erin Robertson flashbacks.

Normally at this point, about halfway through a Project Runway season, I am invested in at least a couple of designers. So far, I have liked a few garments by remaining designers Sebastian, Bishme, Garo, and Tessa, but I'm finding it hard to get excited and root for anyone. I only really feel something if it's displeasure -- if the judges make a mean-spirited comment about a design right in front of the designer and model, or if the designers make a comment about the models, or if the judges just make a bizarre win/lose decision.

I don't want to be negative. I don't enjoy being cynical about a show I've loved for years. I want to be impressed and inspired. I don't want to look at Brandon Maxwell and just wish he could magically become Michael Kors (or even Zac Posen). That's not being fair. But it does feel like Project Runway has lost its shine for me -- maybe only for me, but based on comments I've seen, I don't think I'm alone.

I do want this universe to continue, since I actually enjoyed Project Runway Junior and Project Runway All Stars as much as the flagship show. If anything, I'm now rooting even harder for Project Runway to get a Season 18. This is not how the franchise should end. Get back on the horse, make a few tweaks, and try to bring back the magic of old school seasons like the one Christian Siriano won.

It's not like every season of the OG Project Runway was a success either, and Tim Gunn himself has been open about hating Season 14. We all have our opinions.

Whatever happens with Project Runway, I know Tim Gunn and Heid Klum have a new fashion show lined up at Amazon. There's no guarantee I'll love that one, but I'm looking forward to giving it a try. How are you feeling about Season 17 so far?

Project Runway Season 17 is back on Bravo with a new host in Karlie Kloss, a new mentor in Christian Siriano, new judges in everyone except Nina Garcia, and of course new designers. However, some things never change -- even if they should. Many fans are ready to say auf wiedersehen to using ageist terms like "old lady," "matronly," "mother of the bride," "grandma," etc. to describe designs considered unflattering and unattractive.

One viewer even got so angry after a third reference in the current season that she called the AARP and wrote to Bravo and Christian Siriano. She also apparently contacted The Washington Post, since the paper did a story on the fan's frustration, and got comment from Siriano.

Christian Siriano, who won Project Runway back in Season 4, made a comment in Season 17, Episode 3 that a designer should avoid a look that was too "old lady" or "Golden Girls," even though he loves The Golden Girls.

The fan in question, Carolyn Dry, told The Washington Post she knew what Christian Siriano and the other designers meant. She knew they didn't intend to insult an entire group of women. But she spoke up to challenge the broader societal use of such terms as shorthand for unattractive. After all, 73 might be considered an "old lady" age to some, but have you taken a look at Helen Mirren? Age is just a number. "Old lady," however, is a dismissive insult.

Carolyn Dry was reportedly aiming for an apology from Christian Siriano. He did write to the Post that he dresses women of all ages, and his clients often use the same terms. He said he'd never equate the term "old lady" with anything negative, it's just a way to describe something that looks dated. Here's one key thing he added:

Yes. He's not the only one to use these terms, as he noted, even if he's the one in the hot seat in this instance. Just last night, for instance, judge Elaine Welteroth made a comment in the "Survive in Style" episode about winning designer Renee Hill's survival chic garment. Welteroth said she really needed to see that high-scoring design from Renee because "she sometimes can go a little bit matronly."

So this isn't really about Christian Siriano as much it's hoping for a cultural shift away from age-shaming behavior -- the way Project Runway has kinda sorta gotten better at embracing women over size 2. Then again, even with "curvy" models in the mix, we've seen how quickly and easily they can be diminished too.

In Season 17, Episode 3, Nadine Ralliford was shown getting frustrated that she got a curvier model for the head-to-toe print challenge. She was called out for that by the judges, but the judges do seem to gravitate toward looks that are worn by thinner models. A few years ago, Tim Gunn called out his own show for the "tokenism" of giving Ashley Nell Tipton a win with the first plus-size collection, when he personally found her collection "hideous."

There's a delicate balance of wanting to recognize and support something different without being patronizing about it. That's something Project Runway has struggled with during the "real women" challenges that always seem to frustrate designers. "Real women" usually means shorter, heavier, and often older than traditional models. Over the years, designers have found it difficult to design for such women -- you'd think we came from another planet -- and the judges also often struggle to avoid sounding condescending.

As Project Runway reinvents itself again in the absence of Tim Gunn (age 65) and Heidi Klum (45) (who are launching their own Amazon fashion show), it might be worth considering adding older models to the mix, in addition to the occasional young curvy model. After all, that's a major market to serve -- Christian Siriano designs for them too -- and after Project Runway is over, these designers are going to want to find clients. Wouldn't it help to show they can design beautiful, flattering garments for women over 40, 50, 60, 70, etc. while they have the ideal marketing opportunity of weekly TV time?

In the meantime, Project Runway Season 17 is continuing Thursday nights at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo. Fans were upset with Nadine last week, and this week many are so upset that Afa Ah Loo was eliminated they're hoping for a revival of The Tim Gunn Save ... even without Tim Gunn.
