Jennifer Aniston’s latest photo dump features her boyfriend Jim Curtis and a long list of famous friends. However, her comments section also featured quite the ensemble of celebrity pals. That list specifically included Sandra Bullock and Jennifer Garner, and we have to talk about their replies.

Now, in this photo dump all about the summer, Aniston highlighted a bunch of ways she’s been spending the hotter days of 2026. She kicked it off with a cute car selfie of her and Jim Curtis (who she’s been in a serious relationship with for many months now), and then followed that up with adorable photos with friends. Those friends included famous folks like Naomi Watts, Billy Crudup, Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes and more. Take a look:

This post is honestly summer goals, and I think Sandra Bullock’s comment makes that point even clearer, as she wrote:

For context, Bullock and Aniston have been friends for a very long time. They became pals about 16 years ago when they bonded at a mutual friend’s wedding, per Vanity Fair. Since then, they’ve supported each other, and they have spoken very highly about one another. Over the years, the Horrible Bosses star has also posted (via People) about her friendship with her fellow actress.

However, Bullock only joined Instagram in April. So, when the Miss Congeniality star began uploading posts, we finally got to see the friends interacting on socials. And it’s been wonderful to see comments like this from both Bullock and Aniston (who wrote “She’s here!” on her friend’s first IG post earlier this spring).

Meanwhile, Jennifer Garner also got in on the fun, highlighting the moon photo in Aniston’s dump while also shouting out Nancy Banks, who is tagged in a delightful selfie:

Notably, this selfie Garner commented on was taken in a dark space, and while the Friends star is in focus, her friends are blurry. Overall, it’s a very cute photo, and they all look so happy to be together.

Of course, this kind of love and support makes sense. I mean, back in May, Aniston was in the comments on Garner's post hyping up her Elektra bangs. Plus, the actresses share mutual friends and collaborators, like Reese Witherspoon, who works with Aniston on The Morning Show and executive produces Garner’s series, The Last Thing He Told Me, both of which can be streamed with an Apple TV subscription. So, it’s always fun to see all these women interacting with each other online and hyping up posts like this.

Garner and Bullock weren’t the only famous folks in the comments, though. Alongside them, Aniston’s summer photo dump was met with more love from celebs like Lily Collins and more, take a look:

Of course, this level of love comes as no surprise. We’ve seen Aniston and Courteney Cox reunite on social media, and the Rachel actress and Lisa Kudrow have hilariously discussed Friends recently. Overall, The Morning Show star has been consistently posting about and supporting her friends online. So, it’s always wonderful to see her get that kind of appreciation in return.

Now that all that is said and done, I think it’s time for us to start manifesting a project that involves Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Garner and Sandra Bullock. Clearly, they adore each other, and I’d love to see that energy on the big screen.

The TV world lost an absolute giant at the end of this past week, as James Burrows sadly died at the age of 85. Even if some don’t recognize Burrows’ name right away, they’re surely familiar with his work, as he directed some of the greatest sitcoms of all time, including The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Taxi, Cheers and Will & Grace. Another notable entry in Burrows’ directorial work is Friends, on which he became close with the cast, including Jennifer Aniston. Now, Aniston has penned a tribute to Burrows, which has me emotional.

Jennifer Aniston Pays Loving Tribute To James Burrows

Burrows directed multiple episodes of Friends throughout the first four years of its 10-season run. He even notably directed the pilot episode, which introduced the six titular characters. This weekend, Aniston took to Instagram to pay tribute to the man she affectionately knew as “Papa Burrows.” In addition to sharing a carousel full of photos, Aniston shared her recollections of working with the late director/producer. Something she specifically noted early on was the loving way Burrows would refer to her and her castmates:

The Rachel Green actress shouted out Burrows’ “incredible children” for being “generous enough to share him with all of us who were lucky enough to experience his unicorn presence.” She also referred to the Frasier helmer as a “father figure” to her and noted how he was also there for her amid the “hardest times and the best of times” of her life. She concluded her message off with this:

As a sitcom fan, I was already in my feelings about the death of James Burrows, and the tribures that have poured in for him only added to that. However, Aniston’s message is a staunch reminder of not just Burrows’ talent but the endearing relationships he forged with his actors. This man truly left a mark on those he worked with, and it’s wonderful that so many – including members of the Friends cast are memorializing him.

Friends Alums And More Are Honoring James Burrows After His Passing

Before Jennifer Aniston shared her tribute to James Burrows, she David Schwimmer – who played her love interest, Ross Geller – shared photos and a lovely message on Instagram. Schwimmer had nothing but kind thoughts to share about the director:

Matt LeBlanc, known for playing the food-loving Joey Tribbiani, also posted some warm words on Instagram as well as some sweet photos. When paying tribute, LeBlanc wrote:

Another lovely tribute came from the Phoebe Buffay actress Lisa Kudrow, who most recently worked with the Burrows on the third and final season of The Comeback. Kudrow – who notably delivered the lobster joke in an iconic Friends episode directed by Burrows – posted a photo to her Instagram story. She also included the comment, “Thank you Jimmy. I mean, for everything…”

Various other actors Burrows worked with over the years, including Danny DeVito, Ted Danson, Debra Messing, Eric McCormack and Tony Danza. Burrows’ body of work is unmatched, including titles ranging from The Mary Tyler Moore Show to Mike & Molly. He also directed the pilots for shows like Two and a Half Men and The Big Bang Theory. Of course, amid all that he’ll be known for directing some of the most beloved (and humorously ridiculous) episodes of Friends.

The TV landscape – and the world as a whole – is a poorer place for not having James Burrows. Still, I take comfort in the fact that his work will surely be enjoyed for generations and that Jennifer Aniston and other stars will remember him fondly.

Thanks to streaming, fans have been able to rewatch their favorite classics and discover new favorites. Friends, which is one of the best sitcoms of all time, is still being watched over and over again by fans even years after it ended. It’s hard to imagine someone these days not watching the show, streaming with an HBO Max subscription. Not surprisingly, Jennifer Aniston was pretty taken aback when she found out co-star Lisa Kudrow had never watched the NBC hit.

Aniston and Kudrow recently participated in Variety’s Actors on Actors segment, not only reflecting on their experience on Friends, but on their careers as a whole and how the show is still impacting their lives today. At one point, Aniston recalled her reaction when she found out that Kudrow had never actually watched Friends, and it’s definitely on par with how I reacted:

Considering a lot of actors actually avoid watching their own projects for numerous reasons, it’s understandable why Kudrow hadn’t watched Friends. And it’s not like she was avoiding the show altogether, especially since it sounds like she and the cast watched it quite a lot back in the day. Kudrow and Aniston shared their own thoughts on watching the series, and how awkward it can be watching themselves:

• Kudrow: It was really fun. And then we got busy. There were whole episodes that I hadn’t seen. I just couldn’t sit there at home and have anybody walk by seeing me watching a show that I’m in. Because it felt embarrassing to me.
• Aniston: Just like, ‘Oh, here I am, watching my own self be brilliant and funny?’ Because you were.
• Kudrow: Well, I wouldn’t feel that way. Watching it, sometimes I would just be like [she affects a loud, reedy voice], ‘He’s her lobster!’ Why that voice?

Since she and Aniston last did Actors on Actors in 2020, Kudrow has watched more episodes of Friends than before. She previously revealed that she couldn’t watch the show for years, but things changed after Matthew Perry died in 2023 because she’d be watching it for him. It’s a sweet gesture that probably makes it a little harder to watch. However, it sounds like she’s gotten over being embarrassed to watch Friends since she’d be watching her late friend and co-star.

Kudrow has also shared some feelings she’s had while rewatching Friends, including the episode that made her emotional. In 2024, she admitted that she cried while watching Phoebe’s wedding to Paul Rudd’s Mike, noting how happy her character was and how she’d never seen her so happy. Earlier this year, Kudrow said it’s been comforting to watch Friends following Perry’s passing, and since Chandler Bing had some of the funniest lines, I can only imagine how much she both cried and laughed in the same breath while remembering him.

As someone who doesn’t particularly like hearing herself on a recording, I can sympathize with Kudrow and not wanting to watch herself. Of course, that has changed in recent years, especially since she’s putting more focus on Chandler, rather than Phoebe, because of Perry, but it’s all the same. With Kudrow rewatching the show, though, this does make me wonder if she’ll ever jump on the rewatch podcast train like a lot of her colleagues have been doing. You never know.

It’s no secret that Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler are great pals. In fact, they’ve been friends for decades, and these days the actors and their partners have date nights together. However, it’s always nice to learn something new about their lovely friendship. Case in point, I just learned about the incredible gesture the Happy Gilmore star and his wife make for the Friends actress every Mother’s Day.

Over the years, Jennifer Aniston has spoken about the challenges she’s faced with IVF and trying to have kids. When Sandler and his wife, Jackie, learned about this, they started to send her flowers every Mother's Day. The actress revealed this during an interview with WSJ (via Harper’s Bazaar), and it came after there was a lot of coverage about her not having children.

Back in 2022, the actress told Allure that she had tried to get pregnant; however, it was very hard for her:

At the time, no one knew about that, and the actress explained how the years and years of speculation surrounding her and the potential to have children impacted her as she was going through IVF:

Overall, Aniston has been open and candid about her journey. And I think it’s so sweet that Sandler and his wife send her flowers every Mother’s Day.

Now, while Aniston does not have kids, she does have fur babies. The Morning Show star has three dogs, Clyde, Lord Chesterfield and Sophie. She often posts about her doggos, too, and it’s the sweetest thing ever. Here’s an example:

She’s also big on posting about her friends and the people she loves. This includes Sandler, of course, as she’s featured him and his wife in summer fun photo dumps before.

It’s truly lovely that Aniston and Sandler have remained such close friends for so long, and that they support each other in such lovely ways (like with flowers on Mother’s Day).

They’ve worked together a few times, on 2011’s Just Go With It and on the popular Murder Mystery movies that are available with a Netflix subscription. They haven’t made a movie together since 2023; however, considering how tight they are in real life, I hope they have a new collaboration coming down the pipe.

For now, though, Sandler has a few projects in the works of his own, while Aniston’s latest season of The Morning Show will hopefully premiere on the 2026 TV schedule. Watching an episode of Friends, a.k.a. one of the best sitcoms ever, often garners only good vibes, giggles and chuckles, but it wasn’t always the same experience creating the show itself. According to Lisa Kudrow, the TV show’s writers room could get pretty nasty behind closed doors.

It’s not exactly new information that things were different off-camera, given Friends writers’ assistant Amaani Lyle claimed back in 1999 that she was subjected to sexual and racial harassment through offensive comments made by several producers and writers during meetings. Kudrow shared her own less than savory experiences with those comprising the Friends writers room, which she said amounted to around 12 to 15 people, predominantly men. In her words:

Now, Lyle’s case was dismissed in a California Supreme Court case that held that vulgarity can be a necessary part of a creative workplace environment when it comes to a sitcom like Friends. Even so, it sounds like Lisa Kudrow and the other leading women on the show were subject to commentary from the writers’ room they didn’t appreciate. As she added:

Kudrow discusses this element of Friends with The Times amidst recently bringing back her own commentary about making TV shows in her and Michael Patrick King’s HBO series The Comeback. While the latest season is set around the hot-button topic of an AI-crafted sitcom for Valerie Cherish, she’d previously drawn directly from her time on Friends to call out toxic writers rooms she's experienced herself. Case in point, the Season 1 scene where Valerie brought baked cookies to the writers, only to find Paulie G. & Co. making sexualized jokes about her.

In the new interview, she confirms that The Comeback has provided her the “closest thing” to her experience in writers rooms which she describes as being filled with “male energy” and “the sophomoric madness that happens when people are trapped, trying to do a series”. Friends certainly had a grueling schedule for a decade, with each episode taking a week to film in an industry that didn’t typically take so long per episode.

While making Friends might not have always been the best workplace environment, Kudrow has said before that she’ll always talk about it because gave her “everything.” And, following the death of her cast mate Matthew Perry, Kudrow has recently been rewatching Friends and weighing in things like if Ross and Rachel were on a break and about the show’s lack of people of color.

While we might expect a show like Friends to be all fun and games, Kudrow's comment show that the show from the 1990s and 2000s had its workplace faults.

There’s no doubt that actors have a pretty cool job, but in addition to the fun characters they get to play and interesting predicaments they get to act out, they’re also sometimes asked to do some pretty awkward sex scenes. I’d imagine it can be uncomfortable having to undress in front of someone you just met, and according to Charlie Day, that’s especially true if that person is Jennifer Aniston.

Jennifer Aniston and Charlie Day starred in Horrible Bosses, the 2011 comedy in which Day’s character, dental assistant Dale, makes a plan to kill his boss (Aniston) after she sexually harasses him and blackmails him with photos. Well, before they shot that scene, there had to be blackmail-worthy pics, right? So the It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia star said that made for an interesting first day on set. Day told EW:

That seems like a very appropriate reaction to have. I can’t even look at Jennifer Aniston’s Instagram without questioning all of my life choices, so I can only imagine having to disrobe in front of her actual eyes.

I mean, this is Jennifer Aniston we’re talking about here. She may not deprive herself, and she may not subscribe to the “no pain, no gain” method of fitness, but she also looks like she hasn’t aged since Friends. (Honestly, she has no business calling Paul Rudd an “ageless freak”!)

That said, Jennifer Aniston is a professional, and even though this movie pre-dated intimacy coordinators, I can’t imagine that she made Charlie Day feel anything but comfortable — hopefully the exact opposite experience of the Horrible Bosses characters they were portraying.

Other actors have opened up about being nude on set. Some are super comfortable, like Jennifer Lawrence, who felt no need to use a body double in No Hard Feelings (which is one of the sexually explicit movies you can watch on Hulu).

Channing Tatum, as well, didn’t seem to have the same issues as Charlie Day when he had to bare it all to Sandra Bullock — Jennifer Aniston’s longtime buddy — on Day 2 of The Lost City. However, I’d imagine Tatum meeting Peter Dinklage for the first time “full monty” was an experience from The Roofman that neither actor will soon forget.

All of these instances of actors getting naked with someone just a day or two after meeting sounds incredibly intimidating, but Kristen Bell’s most awkward sex scene may have all of these guys beat. On House of Lies, she spent an afternoon pretending to have “raunchy sex” with her best friend Ryan Hansen just hours after Hansen had been a witness at Bell’s wedding to Dax Shepard.

In reality, I’m sure Charlie Day wasn’t anywhere near as pasty or doughy as he felt while stripping down in front of Jennifer Aniston, but I can certainly understand how one would feel that way.

It’s been over 20 years since Friends’ series finale aired, and still somehow that last episode — a two-parter appropriately titled “The Last One” — can bring on such a flood of emotions. Saying goodbye to Ross, Rachel, Monica, Chandler, Joey and Phoebe (and Mike?) still feels like such a loss after spending 10 seasons with the gang. That's especially true now, after learning one behind-the-scenes fact that makes that last line hit way different.

At the end of the episode, the core group of six somberly leave Monica’s apartment for the last time. Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) asks if they have time to stop for a cup of coffee, and Chandler (Matthew Perry) smartly replies: “Where?” The joke is that we all know where — Central Perk, where the friend group spent so much time at that orange couch reserved for them. However, one viral meme adds a whole new layer of meaning to that final word:

Before, this was simply just one last funny line from Chandler Bing, but now I’m always going to see its double meaning — at that point during filming there actually was nowhere for them to go, because the Central Perk set had already been torn down.

Friends co-creator Marta Kauffman confirmed as much in the DVD commentary for “The Last One,” when she talked about the heartwrenching process of closing out a decade-long sitcom. Kauffman said:

During the final Central Perk scene, Marta Kaffuman said they had to stop several times because people were crying. Executive producer Kevin Bright said it wasn’t until David Schwimmer pointed out that it was the last time they’d be on the set together that the tears started to flow. Even after they wrapped the scene (and the set), nobody wanted to leave, Kauffman said:

That’s heartbreaking enough to read as a fan, so I can only imagine what it was like for the cast and crew who’d spent 10 years of their lives there. Luckily for us, though, Central Perk will always exist via seemingly constant cable reruns and the ability to stream all 10 seasons — plus the 2021 reunion special — with an HBO Max subscription.

Still, even though I’m sure that line wasn’t written to be a secret reference to the Central Perk set, I’m afraid I’ll never be able to hear Chandler’s final line without thinking about it that way.

There are some movie and TV debates that will never die, like the iconic Titanic raft debate or whether Tony really died at the end of The Sopranos. Arguably, one of the most well-known comes from Friends: Were Ross and Rachel on a break? Nearly 30 years after the infamous Season 3 episode aired, the cast of Friends is still being asked their opinions, and apparently, Lisa Kudrow has switched hers.

The Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion actress hit the red carpet for the return of her comedy The Comeback, in which Kudrow plays a sitcom actress desperately trying to stay relevant in the evolving TV industry. Season 3, Episode 1 will be available to stream starting March 22 with an HBO Max subscription, but Valerie Cherish’s career is not the only thing being revived by Kudrow. Entertainment Tonight asked Kudrow where she stands these days on whether Ross and Rachel were on a break, and the Easy A actress shared that she's updated her take:

There’s no one I would expect to give their blunt opinion more than Phoebe Buffay herself. You’ll notice Kudrow doesn’t explicitly say whether or not Ross and Rachel were on a break when he hooked up with “coffee shop” Chloe, but does it matter? He didn’t even wait a full 24 hours after his argument with Rachel to have a rebound fling with someone else.

So I have to say, I’m in agreement with Kudrow. The fact that his cop out line to cheating on Rachel has sparked this decades-long debate is ridiculous.

Not being able to admit fault for sleeping with another woman while his relationship status was unresolved speaks volumes about Ross as a person, and is one of several reasons why he’s kind of the worst. You really can’t plan a future with someone like that, which is why the man was divorced three times over the course of ten seasons!

The No Good Deed actress recently revealed on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last week that she’s almost completed her rewatch of Friends, and clearly, the years between filming the show and watching it have given her a fresh perspective on the infamous TV break-up.

Up until a few years ago, Kudrow said she couldn’t watch the beloved sitcom without getting the ick from seeing herself on TV. After Matthew Perry’s sudden death in 2023, the Mad About You actress said she started watching it for her late friend. She was even able to separate herself from her character Phoebe, and said she was most emotional during the episode "The One with Phoebe's Wedding." It makes my heart so full to know that even though Kudrow has moved on to other projects like The Comeback, Friends is still very near and dear to her.

Much like Ross and Rachel, The Comeback has been on-again-off-again for decades, and although HBO is toting this third installment as the final season, who really knows? Jennifer Aniston’s love life has always been of particular interest to fans, dating all the way back to her days on Friends when she was married to Brad Pitt. It’s been lovely to see her supposedly getting serious with boyfriend Jim Curtis, who has apparently won the approval of her friends and even ex-husband Justin Theroux. However, just like every celebrity relationship (and every relationship in general), disagreements are all but inevitable, and Curtis spoke candidly about how he and Aniston navigate issues that “flare up.”

While Jennifer Aniston has made her feelings clear on not owing fans any details of her personal life, she doesn’t seem to mind her new beau giving us a little peek behind the curtain. Jim Curtis appeared on the Ced with Intention podcast, where they talked about navigating conflict in a relationship. The hypnotherapist/wellness coach alluded to his romance with The Morning Show star, saying:

OK, I’m dying over the mention of his “girlfriend,” but I absolutely love how healthy his approach sounds. He went on to say that actually doing the work to repair whatever caused the flare-up is vital, continuing:

Jim Curtis recommended that couples “pre-game the rules” before a difficult situation even comes up, so that they will know the other person’s communication style and what they need in order to resolve a conflict.

He gave examples of finding out if your partner needs to take 10 minutes to gather their thoughts or if they want to address a situation immediately. Would your partner prefer to sleep on it, or make sure you both don’t go to bed angry? He said:

I love this so much for Jennifer Aniston, and I really appreciate that Jim Curtis isn’t trying to paint some idealistic picture of their relationship. Instead, he said that even though they have disagreements, they know how to work through them.

This is a different approach than George Clooney took recently, saying that he and wife Amal have never had a fight. The Jay Kelly star basically said it’s not worth sweating the small stuff, and I get that too, but come on, let’s be realistic!

Travis Kelce, in turn, also said he’d “never once” gotten into an argument with fiancée Taylor Swift, and while he stuck by that when challenged, his sister-in-law Kylie Kelce was not convinced.

If George Clooney and Travis Kelce are being honest, more power to them, but I also don’t think there’s anything wrong with admitting that even celebrity couples argue sometimes. In fact, knowing how to work through inevitable issues in a healthy way is actually what makes Jennifer Aniston and Jim Curtis #goals.

When it comes to romantic relationships, the Spice Girls said it best: “If you wanna be my lover, you gotta get with my friends.” So, when it comes to Jennifer Aniston’s blooming romance with wellness coach and author Jim Curtis, how do her pals feel about the whole thing?

Word that Aniston and Curtis were dating first came up in July of 2025, meaning the couple could be past the six month mark now. According to what a source told Entertainment Tonight about the relationship, the couple are allegedly “serious” and “the real deal,” along with this sweet nugget:

Jim Curtis is a life coach who has been working in the wellness space for over twenty years. He’s a trained “hypno-coach” who has had celebrities and public figures as his clients over the years. Jennifer Aniston certainly hasn’t been shy about introducing Curtis into her group of famous friends. The couple have been seen on a double date with Adam Sandler and his wife along with Aniston’s Friends bestie Courteney Cox over the summer. Heck, one of her exes even showed his approval .

We’ve also heard about double dates between the new lovebirds and Jason Bateman and his wife, and they attended the Elle’s Women in Hollywood gala back in November. During the event, Sandler publicly congratulated the couple too, saying he’s “so happy” she and Curtis found each other and “are having the love affair” they “deserve.” That certainly echoes the sentiments made by this unnamed source.

Curtis also apparently fit “right in” during the holidays when they spent time with more pals over the Christmas season. While Jennifer Aniston likes to remain rather private about her personal life, she sneakily made her romance Instagram official in September and even wished her man a happy birthday in November with a sweet photo. And in another new report from Us Weekly, the couple have been "inseparable" lately. Aniston is apparently “really happy” in the relationship right now and it’s “the most comfortable she has felt in a long time.” Aniston just had a birthday last week, turning 57 years old, and they celebrated with a “low-key dinner and night in” since the Friends star “didn’t want to do anything huge for her birthday.”

Per the same source, she “cherishes Jim’s handwritten cards and his thoughtful and sentimental gifts.” Aniston didn’t forget her pals either, and also had some fun with “her close friend group." It’s great to hear Aniston and Curtis are getting a lot of love and support from her network as things progress between them.

Following Valentine’s Day weekend, Wuthering Heights won out among new 2026 movie releases as the buzzy movie of the moment, and it dominated the box office, too. Now, Jennifer Aniston is even adding to the chatter of the smutty epic starring Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi by reminding people of the time the book was in Friends, and it made me chuckle.

Aniston took to Instagram on Tuesday to share a throwback clip from Friends circa 1998 in honor of Wuthering Heights’ release. Check it out below:

The comedy actress shared this clip from Season 5, Episode 9 “The One With Ross’ Sandwich”. In the episode, Rachel joins the literature class Phoebe is in, but they butt heads. However, when she attends, she’s late to class and asks her what happened in the book they are reading for class, Wuthering Heights, and Phoebe has to explain it to her.

I find it hilarious that Aniston took the time to post this clip along with the comment “Thanks to Margot and Jacob, no reading required” along with some funny emojis. And hey, she’s right. If the episode had taken place in the present day, Rachel could have simply gone to see Emerald Fennell’s take on the classic book and would have a better sense of what’s going on in the class. That’s probably what she would have done if given the option.

Though, as things tend to go with book-to-screen adaptations, the Wuthering Heights movie is not only not a word-for-word adaptation, it only covers about half of the novel from Emily Brontë. When the first trailer came out, the movie received some whitewashing backlash for Jacob Elordi playing Heathcliff when he’s thought to be a person of color.

Anyways, in the episode, you may remember that Phoebe gets frustrated with Rachel for not reading the class’s reading material and stealing her analysis from her. So during the next session she makes up things for Rachel to repeat in class that humiliates her. This leads to Phoebe and Rachel to talk about the different ways they were approaching the class.

Phoebe actually wanted to learn because she didn’t get to go to high school, while Rachel wasn’t thinking too much of it. The episode ends with Monica joining the class and hilariously being a way worse partner to Phoebe than Rachel was due to her competitive nature.

Jennifer Aniston reminding us of this episode has us imagining if Phoebe and Rachel would have gone to see the movie together and what they would have thought of the Wuthering Heights ending. I know I’m picturing Phoebe being the book purist who’s so not into it, and Rachel being all over it.

There's a commonly suggested rule to never meet your heroes, and 90 Day Fiancé's Yara Dufren has quite a story to share related to that. Her TLC reality show and Friends are available to stream with an HBO Max subscription, and the star's encounter with Jennifer Aniston left her wishing that was the closest connection they ever shared.

Dufren, who 90 Day fans last saw feuding with Loren and Alexei Brovarnik in her latest season, was recently a guest on No Filter With Queen Mary. During the episode, she recalled a time she met Jennifer Aniston at an unnamed award show, and how meeting a celebrity she was a huge fan of went wrong:

Yara was gutted, or perhaps, expecting a bigger response from someone who meant so much to her. I can understand being upset, but I also feel like this could be a case where the moment was much bigger for her than it was Aniston. Time and place can always factor into these situations, and in the midst of an award show, where Aniston might be presenting or busy with other obligations, it may not have been the time.

Of course, we only have Yara's side of the story to go on, and she went on to say she felt there was something "off" about Jennifer Aniston in their brief encounter. She talked about the overall vibe she felt when talking to the famed actress:

Perhaps Yara took Jennifer Aniston saying she's most like Rachel Green than any of her other characters too literally. She's obviously impacted by the negative experience based on her comments. Once again, this is why it's often said never to meet your heroes, because they might just end up disappointing you.

I'm sure openly sharing this story might earn Yara Dufren some ire from the internet, but it's nothing she isn't used to as a castmember on 90 Day Fiancé. She's had to fend off critics who judged her for speaking ill of her husband's job, to suspicions about her overall authenticity as a former reality star in her home country.

All this to say, Yara probably knew she'd get people talking by calling out Jennifer Aniston. Whether it gets a response from the actress, who recently shared her big secrets for working out, remains to be seen. I'd be shocked if Aniston even gets word about this story, but if she does, I only think it benefits the 90 Day Fiancé star and probably secures her a lifelong spot on the franchise.

Seeing how popular the show remains today, it’s impossible not to wonder what would have happened if those specific actors hadn’t been cast, and it turns out NBC didn’t leave at least one of those decisions to chance. A former NBC scheduler admits they got another Jennifer Aniston series canceled so she’d be available to play Rachel Green.

It’s no secret that the entertainment industry is cutthroat, but this stunt that former NBC strategist Preston Beckman said they pulled at the time is nothing short of diabolical. Back before Friends’ 1994 premiere, Jennifer Aniston appeared on CBS’ Muddling Through. However, execs must have been pretty confident Friends would be a hit, because Beckman told THR they made an intentional move to free up Aniston’s schedule, so to speak. He said:

This is typically only done for pilots, but Jennifer Aniston was NBC’s clear first choice to play Rachel, so when they learned of CBS’ scheduling plans for Muddling Through, they took action. Airing romance novelist Danielle Steel book-to-screen adaptations opposite Muddling Through stole CBS’ female audience, effectively killing Jennifer Aniston’s show. Not only did the sitcom not get more episodes, but CBS only aired nine of the 10 that were filmed. Aniston made the move to NBC, and Friends premiered on September 22, 1994 — just two weeks after Muddling Through’s final episode on September 7.

The rest is history, and while Friends fans are undoubtedly happy with the way things turned out, I can’t help but wonder what Stephanie Hodge and the other stars of Muddling Through think of the ex-NBC scheduler’s admission. Are conniving moves like this just business as usual in Hollywood?

Since 2023, Ben Affleck has been working with Dunkin’ on Super Bowl ads that have kept TV viewers amused and confused, and the Oscar winner’s latest effort will no doubt match up with past merch-inspiring efforts like the DunKings. The company unveiled a video setting up what we’ll see on February 8, with Affleck rocking a thick-as-fahck Boston accent to pitch an idea to “Jen and Matt,” two names he’s quite used to saying. But it’s not what you think.

Guzzle whatever coffee you have near and check out the new ad teaser below. Anyone who can make it through the whole thing without impersonating Affleck’s accent either gets a free box of donuts or my temporary respect; whichever is cheaper to ship.

“Jen, Matt: I got a pitch for ya.” The ad kicks off with those two names but without ever showing anyone on-screen beyond Ben Affleck. Already that should have sent off warning bells that expectations would be upended here. Plus, the pitch here is about looking back to the past for something new, and that...

Well, I guess Affleck and JLo did go through two distinct relationship eras that would play into the Dunkin' ad's theme. As well, he and Matt Damon did just share the screen again in Netflix's action romp The Rip, and they do tend to reteam every so often. But let's refer to the biggest piece of evidence pointing to who else will actually be seen in the new ad.

Why I Don't Think Ben Affleck Is Referring To Jlo And Matt Damon

Back in November, word spread that Ben Affleck and Dunkin' would once again attempt to break the Internet, this time with a curated selection of sitcom stars whose runs took place during the very VHS era thats' being called back to in the ad above. Some of those cameos will come from stars of past NBC megahits like Cheers, Seinfeld, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and...Friends.

If that last show starting ringing connection bells, it's likely because two of its hugely popular stars include JENnifer Aniston and MATT LeBlanc, and we'll almost definitely discover that they're the two people Affleck is pitching to.

At the time, it was rumored that Aniston and LeBlanc would be joined by Jason Alexander, Ted Danson and Alfonso Ribeiro (as well as DunKing Tom Brady), and that the ads would center on a Good Will Hunting riff called "Good Will Dunkin'." Nobody saw that pun coming. In the initial report, it was stated that Ted Danson would be portraying Sam Malone, but it sounds like the fictional representation won't carry over to the Friends co-stars.

To be sure, however, just because Jennifer Aniston and Matt LeBlanc are allegedly in this ad technically doesn't make a JLo or Matt Damon cameo impossible. What better way to throw everyone off than by featuring other celebs with the same first names? I guess it depends on how much this creative team is prioritizing fan befuddlement.

It's unclear whether or not Ben Affleck & Co. reinlisted the efforts of John Candy's son Chris Candy to direct the latest batch of ads, after previously bringing him into the mix without being aware of his parentage. But we'll hopefully find out more around the time when we see more of the ads on Super Bowl Sunday, which is happening on February 8 this year.

Don't forget to tune into NBC (or stream via Peacock subscription) to watch the game, or more importantly to anyone who has zero interest in this year's faceoff, the celebrity-filled ads.

She recently revealed she actually has an 80/20 rule where she's strict 80% of the time and cuts loose the rest of the time, giving her both discipline and flexibility. She also said she loves to hear about these sorts of tricks of the exercise trade and other tenets that work for other individuals as well.

With the Academy Awards as the third key awards ceremony honoring movies this year, it's worth looking back at the film winners at the Golden Globes and Critics Choice Awards. The CCAs aired first in the new year, with Hamnet earning eleven nominations and Jessie Buckley winning as Best Actress. The Golden Globes were second in 2026, with six nominations for Hamnet and two wins: Best Motion Picture - Drama and Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture - Drama.

Notably, co-lead Paul Mescal was nominated for Best Performance By A Male Actor at both the CCAs and Golden Globes, but left out of the Academy Award noms. Jessie Buckley addressed Mescal being snubbed by praising his "extraordinary" performance and him as her "absolute."

All in all, despite the leading man's snub, the leading woman's odds of taking home an Oscar as Actress in a Leading Role seem quite good, with Jessie Buckley sweeping the CCAs and Golden Globes so far. While Hamnet was nominated for the Best Picture category that it won at the Golden Globes, there's a long list of nominees for Best Picture at the Academy Awards. Sinners set the new all-time record for for the most nominations in a single year with a total of 16.

Then, out of nowhere, Cox appears from behind in a pink robe to use her own hair to show what Aniston looks like with darker hair on her head. Cox’s brunette test on Aniston had the actress remembering the time she had brown hair for the Horrible Bosses movies, which came out in 2011 and 2014. That was a different look for Aniston, that’s for sure:

The new post shows Daddario at an acupuncture appointment, following her one-year-old baby, who was actually born on Halloween last year, staying hydrated and in the fifth slide enjoying time in an outdoor tub. No, I didn’t forget the image with the “blood remover” and “eye makeup remover” bags.

They must have to do with the fact that Daddario has been shooting Mayfair Witches Season 3 lately. In April, Mayfair Witches was renewed for a third season, and production started this fall with it set to wrap in February 2026. The first two seasons are currently available to stream with a Netflix subscription.

What Is The Outdoor Tub Trend?

Daddario joined a growing number of celebrities who have either enjoyed remote vacations by getting wrinkled fingers and toes in outdoor tubs, or actually have them installed on their properties. We don’t know if Daddario was sitting in her own tub or not, but she looked right at home in the circular bath in her “self care week” post.

Other examples include MCU actress Hayley Atwell getting bubbly in an outdoor tub once in Devon, England, and Jennifer Aniston actually having a marble outdoor bath in her Los Angeles home surrounded by some gorgeous greenery (per Home and Gardens). Take a look:

After another round of the super-popular DunKings commercials during the 2025 Super Bowl, Ben Affleck is allegedly doing a Good Will Hunting riff for the upcoming big game in Levi’s Stadium, which will be titled, naturally, “Good Will Dunkin’,” per Page Six. Some big names have apparently signed onto the project, including Jennifer Aniston, Matt LeBlanc, Jason Alexander, Alfonso Ribeiro, Ted Danson and Tom Brady.

What in the 1990s is going on here? Whatever it is, I really do hope we get to see a Friends reunion between Matt LeBlanc and Jennifer Aniston in these wildly successful Dunkin’ commercials. There’s no word on whether they’ll be playing their characters Joey Tribbiani and Rachel Green, but Ted Danson will allegedly appear as his character Sam Malone from Cheers.

It will be interesting to see how all of these actors come together, with Jason Alexander (aka Seinfeld’s George Costanza) and Alfonso Ribeiro (The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’s Carlton Banks) in the mix.

Details of the upcoming commercial are being kept super secret, sources say, as the production staff reportedly were required to put “tape over the cameras on their cell phones for added security” while shooting in Los Angeles.

It’s not surprising that the actor wants to churn out another doughnut-themed mini-movie, given how much he makes from the Dunkin’ commercials. Plus, fans get pretty excited, too, when Ben Affleck is seen sporting that Dunkin’ Donuts tracksuit.

The most recent offering, which came at Super Bowl LIX in February 2025, featured appearances from Donnie Wahlberg, Jeremy Strong, Kevin Smith, Jason Mewes, Casey Affleck, Bill Belichick and Belichick’s girlfriend Jordon Hudson, who reportedly “forced her way” into the commercial.

I’m sure more surprises are in store this time around, but the actors who have already been allegedly announced are exciting enough for me. I can’t wait to see Ted Danson (presumably) back behind the bar as Sam Malone, and this will be Jennifer Aniston and Matt LeBlanc’s first time on-screen together since the Friends reunion in 2021 (available to stream with an HBO Max subscription).

Speaking of the Morning Show star, Jennifer Aniston has also appeared in Super Bowl ads in the past. She previously reunited with Friends co-star David Schwimmer in an ad for Uber Eats and continued to flaunt her comedic skills in a funny Skinny Pop commercial earlier this year.

I can think of so many fabulous (and a few not-so-fabulous) wardrobe choices that defined the era, but according to the former Friends costume designer, there were way more per episode than I would have guessed.

Debra McGuire began working as the costume designer on Friends in 1994, the first season of what would become one of the best sitcoms of all time. It turns out when your series has six lead cast members, you go through a lot of clothes, as McGuire revealed at a recent event (via THR):

I need a second to process that number. Seventy-five wardrobe changes for one episode is actually insane. Debra McGuire was in charge of that classic Season 3 scene with Joey wearing all of Chandler’s clothes, but even that was just one piece that she painstakingly styled by layering items from Matthew Perry’s wardrobe.

So to get to 75, If we’re just talking about Ross, Rachel, Monica, Chandler, Joey and Phoebe, that would be about 12 different wardrobes per actor, so there would have to be some of the Friends side characters included in that number, right? But how often did we see, for example, Paul Rudd’s Mike or Anna Faris’ Erica in more than one outfit in an episode? I’m definitely going to start paying attention to that aspect of the show now!

The designer said she didn’t set out to make Friends fashion so emblematic of the ‘90s either, admitting:

The importance of February 13, 1997, cannot be overstated for what this date contributed to television history. It was on this Thursday night that Rachel Green suggested taking a break from boyfriend Ross Gellar, who went on to sleep with another woman that same night. The debate about whether Ross cheated or was single to do as he pleased has raged on for nearly three decades, and with Jennifer Aniston reviving the issue on social media, I fear there’s no end in sight. But whose side is she on anyway?

The question of whether or not Ross and Rachel were “on a break” was one that came up repeatedly throughout the remainder of the Friends’ 10 seasons — literally, David Schwimmer’s character even joked about it in the series finale. Time hasn’t done much to heal that divide amongst fans, either, and Jennifer Aniston provided proof of that recently when she reposted the following meme to Instagram Stories:

Jennifer Aniston must have found this meme pretty amusing, as someone displayed their “welcome” mat that asked others to weigh in on who was correct in the argument over whether or not Ross cheated. That’s admittedly a lot easier than writing an 18-page letter (FRONT AND BACK!) on whether or not he should take responsibility.

The photo shows a package on the “No” option, as in “not on a break,” suggesting the anonymous Amazon delivery person thinks Ross was in the wrong. The poster’s comment about needing to have a talk with that person leads me to believe that they disagree, and that Ross and Rachel were broken up when Ross brought Chloe back to his place that night.

So Jennifer Aniston happens upon this meme, finding it funny enough to share … Does this mean she also sides with Ross on the debate? That does seem to be the case. On the Friends reunion that aired in 2021, Aniston said definitively that yes, they were on a break.

It’s a bit surprising that the actress would take the side opposite her own character, but it’s hard to refute when Rachel was the one who suggested “a break from us.” She also told Monica they had broken up on their anniversary, and when she called Ross to reconcile, she asked if she could be his girlfriend again. I mean, honestly, it’s right there in the episode title: “The One Where Ross and Rachel Take a Break.”

(Don’t worry, though, it’s fair to still think Ross is the worst, in spite of the evidence supporting his argument.)

However, Jennifer Aniston hasn’t always stood by that belief. Following the reunion she seemed to backtrack on her comment by posting a photo in which she sported a ballcap that read, “We were SO not on a break!” And we wonder how this can still be in question so many years later.

It’s been 28 years since that fateful night — children who were not born when said break was taken are now able to give fully formed opinions on the debate — and it’s unlikely Friends fans will ever fully agree. There are so many examples of popular TV shows that formed great spinoffs — for example, Breaking Bad spawned Better Call Saul; All in the Family gave us The Jeffersons and many others; and Young Sheldon came from The Big Bang Theory. It’s surprising, then, that Friends — one of the best sitcoms of all time — inspired just one series (a failed spinoff at that) in Joey. Turns out, things could have been different if not for one big “no” from Jennifer Aniston.

Joey, starring Matt LeBlanc, premiered four months after Friends’ “The Last One” in 2004. However, it turns out the New York Knicks-obsessed, food-loving soap opera actor was not the first character NBC wanted to center a spinoff around. According to executive producer Kevin Bright, it was Jennifer Aniston who was first approached. He told Collider:

It seems like if we were going to see Rachel’s story continued, David Schwimmer would also have to be involved, given the fact that Ross and Rachel reunited in the series finale. However, I can see a world where Rachel ended up taking the job in Paris anyway and there would be mention of Ross taking care of their daughter, Emma, back in the States.

We’ll file that in the “what could have been” category.

Matt LeBlanc was actually the most sensible actor to lead a spinoff, because Joey was the only character whose future didn’t really play into the Friends finale’s plot. Ross and Rachel got back together, Monica and Chandler had surprise twins (I will never buy this as plausible), and newlyweds Phoebe and Mike had plans to start their own family.

However, after Jennifer Aniston said no to a Rachel spinoff, there was apparently another option before they landed on Joey. Kevin Bright said:

That is kind of understandable; it had been 10 years of their lives, after all. So, in the end, they landed on a show that followed the life and career of Joey Tribbiani because, the EP said:

That statement seems to be lacking the enthusiasm one would hope for in a Friends follow-up, but maybe I’m reading too much into the tone because I know how things worked out.

For as much flack as Joey got from critics and fans alike, it’s surprising that the sitcom aired 46 episodes over two seasons before being canceled by NBC. None of the other five Friends stars reprised their role in that time to visit Matt LeBlanc’s character (so much for “I’ll be there for you,” am I right?), and outside of the 2021 Friends reunion special, the six actors never shared the stage again.

Would things have been different if Rachel had been the show that premiered in 2004? There’s no way to know, but at least we can continue to stream Friends episodes with our HBO Max subscription. Also, the first two episodes of Joey are available to stream on YouTube.

After way too long, I was successful with the details of Aniston's dress. An LA Times article notes that it was made by costume designer Jane Robinson from fabric she got for "less than $30." Meanwhile, even though the dress is very memorable to those who’ve seen the film, it doesn’t quite seem to have made it to the list of iconic outfits from ‘90s movies, and, of course, seeing as how Aniston didn’t wear it on her mega-hit NBC comedy, it also can’t be counted among one of the most iconic outfits on Friends, so there doesn't seem to be info on Sennott's extremely close look.

Luckily, however, that doesn’t really matter, because the look is still absolute fire, right? Plus, ‘90s fashion is quite trendy now, and has been for a while. Recent years have seen Bella Hadid channel ‘90s-era Gisele Bündchen, Brie Larson bare her abs in an ensemble inspired by ‘90s supermodel Claudia Schiffer, and Zendaya sport a 1991 Polo Ralph Lauren dress that Cindy Crawford helped make famous back in the day.

Buried among those million-plus likes are numerous celebrities, including Rachel Zegler, her Morning Show co-star Reese Witherspoon, and Kaley Cuoco, but most notable among them is Justin Theroux. The pair were together from 2011 to 2017, but according to all reports, and each other, the pair have remained friendly despite the relationship ending. This isn't the first time Theroux has expressed his positive feelings for Aniston on Instagram.

Of course, that’s seemingly been the case with all of Aniston’s relationships. While a lot of ink has been spilled over Aniston’s relationship with Brad Pitt, perhaps because the relationship that followed that one for Pitt has remained in the headlines for years since, all indications are that things are amicable between them as well, with Pitt even attending Aniston’s birthday party in past years.

Of course the birthday party of importance now is somebody else’s. I love an actor with a great sense of style and taste, but I truly admire one who's practical above all else.

It's always intriguing to hear about the early years of Friends and what the vibes were like behind the scenes at that time. For instance, Lisa Kudrow recalled filming the show's opening sequence and admitted she couldn’t remember not being in a fountain. During a recent chat with Dax Shepard on his Armchair Expert podcast, he noted the finding that Aniston has been on enough tabloid covers during her years of fame for her to appear on one every day for the next five years. When he asked Courteney Cox’s bestie if she’d ever considered just never doing press again, Aniston answered in the affirmative, and added that her comments being taken wrong is one reason. She continued:

The interview she’s talking about happened with Glamour Magazine, where she was asked why she’s never attended The Met Gala and responded by noting that despite being invited (and seemingly more than once) she doesn’t go because the event “overwhelms” her and she gets “nervous.” Plus, she's more of a "jeans and flip-flops and tank top kind of girl."

While that seems like a simple enough answer that most of us could understand, it was quickly spun into reports that said Aniston could be banned from future guest lists because Vogue boss Anna Wintour might see her words as an “insult.” As the star said:

There are very few people who can understand the pressures of being interviewed, and then having what you say in good faith taken the wrong way or even being outright misquoted. But, I think most of us can see that situations like that would lead to stars like Aniston feeling that they’d “been burned” in one way or another, and thinking that simply removing the “doing press” part of their already stressful gig would be for the best.

Luckily, not only does the star have buddies like Gwyneth Paltrow and Sandra Bullock to swap advice and gossip with, but she’s totally comfortable doing interviews whenever the situation feels really “safe” like it did when she appeared on the podcast. It was for an important role too, as Loretta squealed the following right as she walked into the event:

Later in the episode, Loretta is the one to get a major crack in the case, as she learned the history between Nicky and Camila as well as their plans for the casino at the Arconia. Oh, and she found what looks like the murder weapon.

However, despite all that, when Oliver complimented her crime-solving skills and said he had “no notes” about what she'd figured out and learned, Loretta quipped back:

It was a hilarious callback to a joke from earlier in the episode, and it got me thinking: Could Jennifer Aniston ever be on this great Hulu show?

When I interviewed Only Murders’ co-creator John Hoffman, I made sure to talk to him about this funny scene, and I asked if we should read into it and if it’d ever be possible to have Aniston on the comedy. In response, he started laughing and joked about the potential for his series to crossover with The Morning Show before breaking down the actual bit in OMITB. He explained:

Truly, it’s an A+ joke, because it's wild to think about Loretta trying to cast an A-lister in her medical procedural that shoots in New Zealand.

Now, I really hope it inspires the series and Aniston to work together. It sounds like Hoffman isn’t opposed to the idea either, as he told me:

Since she was name-dropped in the episode, maybe she could play herself like Eugene Levy, Zach Galifianakis and Eva Longoria did last season. Or maybe, in the same vein as Paul Rudd’s ongoing gag of returning as a new character every season, this whole ordeal of Loretta trying to recruit her for her show could continue as a running inside joke. Then, maybe, someday, Jennifer Aniston could actually show up to interact with Meryl Streep’s character.

For now, that’s just a dream. However, considering Hoffman’s enthusiasm about the joke and the absolutely stacked list of guest stars Only Murders has had, I don’t actually think it’s that far-fetched. So, as we continue watching the lovely Hulu comedy on Tuesdays, let’s hope that someday Jennifer Aniston really does show up to talk to Loretta about a role in Burn Unit.

Jennifer Aniston Shuts Down The Idea Of A Future Friends Revival

The six members of the main cast came together in 2021 for Friends: The Reunion, where they revisited the set, discussed whether Ross and Rachel were on a break and relived some of the show’s more iconic moments. As far as Jennifer Aniston is concerned, that’s all we’re going to get as far as a revival or reboot. She said since Matthew Perry’s death in 2022, there is no world where a sequel or remake could happen, giving a blunt, six-word response:

It’s tough to think that the six of them could never share the stage again, even if they wanted to, since the man who had the funniest lines as Chandler Bing drowned in his hot tub at age 54 after taking a large amount of ketamine.

However, even before Matthew Perry’s untimely death, the idea of a reboot or revival was shot down, and Courteney Cox also said the Friends cast wasn’t likely to do another reunion.

Friends fans will just have to settle for the glorious videos and photos the actors share when the besties do get together, as well as the knowledge that the actors have taken the words of their iconic theme song to heart and will always be there for each other.

Both the cast and fans have celebrated more than 30 years of Friends. Largely, that’s thanks to the series greatly influencing what TV friendship goals– whether platonic, romantic or friends-to-lovers–look like. Between the six, each relationship is as unique and special as the last, and also stands true of the show’s couples. Case and point: Chandler’s proposed storyline of cheating on Monica wouldn’t have equated Ross and Rachel's "on a break" arc, so, let’s dive into it.

The deep-cut trivia of Season 6’s planned script centered around Chandler Bing’s jealousy of Monica Gellar going out to lunch with ex-Richard Burke (Tom Selleck). Which surfaced after the death of Matthew Perry, through an interview with actor Lisa Cash, who was to play the other woman. She shared that Matthew Perry axed the cheating idea because he feared it would alter the show, and its fans' perception too much.

Now, Cash has revealed to NBC News why the late actor was spot on with the nixing. Agreeing with Perry’s stance on the alternate beat, she said if it had aired, it’d be entirely different from the longstanding R&R break discourse. In her explanation, she highlights that the status of the respective couples were in completely contrasting places and would’ve elicited a wildly different outcome, saying:

I agree with both of them. Regardless of where you lie between the break debate, there’s more gray area to maneuver in Ross’ decision. If Perry hadn’t convinced the writers to cut Chandler’s active cheating on Monica, while they were clearly together, the series may have taken a hard left turn and never bounced back.

And even for the some fans who disliked Chandler and Monica’s courtship, I believe the inevitable breakup would’ve altered too much. With the six being so interconnected, it would’ve bled into each dynamic with vast outcomes. And likely, could’ve led to Chandler being exiled, or cast as a villain. So, I’m personally glad that Lisa Cash, who was originally scripted to be a hotel employee who sleeps with Bing, was rerouted to be Ross and Rachel’s flight attendant.

If the bomb dropping Chandler Bing cheating scandal had been pulled off, who knows what kind of butterfly effect it absolutely would’ve had in television and movies, including this year’s ​2025 TV calendar. It certainly wouldn’t have read as ambiguously and endlessly debatable as the Ross and Rachel on a break moment. I, for one, am pleased not to know what could’ve been.

Friends has been a big part of my life since its original run on NBC that started 30 years ago, and through endless rewatches of the series with my HBO Max subscription, I’ve thought a lot about each character and the situations they get themselves into. Admittedly, I love them all — Ross, Rachel, Chandler, Monica, Phoebe and Joey — despite their sometimes-obvious faults, but I happened upon a thread criticizing Jennifer Aniston’s character, and I have to admit some good points were made.

Every Friends fan has their favorite and least-favorite characters. There are people who think Matt LeBlanc’s Joey is too obsessed with food or that Lisa Kudrow’s Phoebe is unrealistically off-beat. Many agree that David Schwimmer’s Ross is simply the worst. For one fan on Reddit, however, Rachel Green is the biggest offender, as they began a thread titled “Rachel from Friends is a pretty awful person who just got away with things because she was pretty,” and wrote:

I’m sorry, I was unaware that Will Colbert (co-founder of the “I Hate Rachel Green” Club) was on Reddit.

It’s a fair point, though. While Rachel does show more emotional maturity than her sisters Jill and Amy (portrayed excellently by Reese Witherspoon and Christina Applegate), there’s no questioning the character’s privilege and spoiled tendencies.

Even Jennifer Aniston has admitted Ross and Rachel were on a break during the Friends: The Reunion special, and it was pretty bad form to let Mark come to her place after he was the central figure of her and Ross’ argument. The fan continued:

I’ve always thought that Rachel convincing Bonnie (Christine Taylor) to shave her head was one of the character’s more diabolical moves (though I also blame Ross for being so repulsed by his girlfriend just wanting to live her best bald life). And yes, breaking up Ross and Julie was awful, because they were happy (they got a cat!), and Lauren Tom’s character was nothing but an angel.

Rachel was known to get in the way of pretty much every one of Ross’ other relationships, whether she was calling the baby store saleswoman a “horny bitch” for flirting with Ross or straight up flying across the globe to try to stop him from marrying Emily.

Phoebe even called her out for the baby store slut-shaming, exclaiming, “Oh my God! A woman flirting with a single man? We MUST alert the church elders,” and others on Reddit sided with House star Hugh Laurie when he guest-starred as a passenger on Rachel’s flight to London. AgeofVictoriaPodcast wrote:

Even for the most loyal Rachel fans, it’s hard to think back on how she behaved in several situations of one of the best sitcoms of all time and not admit that she sometimes acted like an awful person. But that’s not going to stop me from loving her or the show in general.

It’s absolutely true that women are more than capable of handling a survival situation. Not only do women play the important roles of wife and mother, but they also efficiently become breadwinners of their families and even run their own businesses.

Reese Witherspoon knows a thing or two about that, as she has her own production company, Hello Sunshine, that places emphasis on female stories in TV and movies. Therefore, women are completely confident enough to come up with a survival plan on their own.

The Wild actress’ female Morning Show co-stars couldn’t have been more in agreement with a woman knowing what to do. Jennifer Aniston made sure to answer exactly what a man would say to a woman in a survival situation:

Exactly! This outdated trope probably came around due to men traditionally being the leading figures of action movies while women played supporting roles. Fortunately, there’s been some progress in action movies like Gravity and The Hunger Games franchise, where the women are expected to take charge while the men support. Late night's latest roller coaster ride has seemingly already come to an end, at least until the next massive drop gets revealed, with Jimmy Kimmel Live! returning to ABC less than a full week after the network suspended Kimmel and pulled his talk show off the air. Much about the ordeal has been shocking to both audiences and those in Hollywood, but it's not so shocking that many of Kimmel's supporters shared love for the comedian to celebrate his return, including famed friends such as Jennifer Aniston and Ben Stiller.

But let's start off with one of the more unexpected, and yet totally logical and on point, reactions to Kimmel taking the late night spotlight back, from none other than Monica Lewinsky. She knows a thing or two about making headlines in relation to controversial situations involving a current president. As she shared on Instagram:

Gotta love that positivity, not to mention how far Lewinsky has come in her life and career since the '90s.

Jennifer Aniston shared Jimmy Kimmel Live!'s first behind-the-scenes pic in a week, while Simon Pegg took to Instagram Stories sharing a video the late night staple posted of other news anchors talking about his return.

Similar to the outpouring of positivity and kind messages accompanying his first public post since the suspension, lots of celebs were in full support of Kimmel getting back into the flow of things, and praising him and the rest of the show's team for handling it all with poise and as much respect as one could hope for.

In the immediate aftermath of the suspension, a lot of fans reportedly took it upon themselves to cancel Disney+ and Hulu in protest. While the exact changes in customer numbers will likely always be a mystery to audiences, Disney's stock did falter in the aftermath, and the fact that ABC's reversed the suspension so quickly has caused many to think that all the sub cancellations had an impact behind the scenes.

Jimmy Kimmel surprised audiences by talking to Robert De Niro during the opening monologue, as well as thanking his sometimes rival Ted Cruz for speaking up. The host got a bit choked up when addressing how the wife of Charlie Kirk has handled things in the aftermath of his murder. But after the monologue, the show continued without making the suspension a sticking point, with Glen Powell promoting Chad Powers and Sarah McLachlan

Though it's obvious not everyone is going to be on the same side here, the majority of non-hyperbolic responses online seem to be positive in nature, and even some who don't agree with Kimmel's politics at all were willing to offer olive branches to say that it was a respectful return.

Friends is one of the best sitcoms of all time, and it's brought comfort to its fans. A major part of the show's success has been the chemistry of the cast, who forged tight bonds that have endured since the show ended over two decades ago. One such long-lasting friendship to surprisingly result from the show is the one between Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston. It sounds like the Sweet Home Alabama actress had to grow up pretty quickly. I'd be tempted to think it must've been nice for Witherspoon to have another actress a few years older to help her navigate the Hollywood of it all. After that guest spot on Friends, the Aniston/Witherspoon friendship just blossomed, according to the latter:

Isn’t that what friends (and surrogate older sisters) are for? Hearing Witherspoon talk about her bond with the We’re The Millers actress makes me wish we had seen them play sisters on Friends for more than two episodes. After sharing that Aniston was sweet then, she couldn’t do more than two episodes because she was terrified of the theater element. With that, Witherspoon asked the Rachel Green actress if she’d ever done it again:

After the question was posed, The Morning Show Season 4 co-stars locked eyes with one another in anticipation of the others’ reaction. The 56-year-old confirmed she didn’t know the count and was baffled at the answer after Witherspoon after showing the count with her hands.

It really does showcase how deep this fear went and apparently still is for her. As mentioned, the Legally Blonde star still considers her Friends guest spot as one of her scariest moments ever. So, all of it does make sense, but she explains some of her initial thoughts, including remorse about the gig:

Who knew there was something so jarring to Witherspoon? In my mind, I don’t think there are more than a handful of moments for her that are anything less than her signature hopeful sunshine-y self. But, everyone has something they’re at least fearful of including high profile celebs. Although, I’d be lying if the confession doesn’t retroactively make me want more Jill Green episodes, she would’ve been even better with a few more episodes.

For my own good, I won’t dwell on what could’ve been for Witherspoon’s stint on the live Friends stage. Legally Blonde was right around the corner anyway. Plus, we’ve had the pair of actresses behind the Green sisters back on screen together for a few years now. Speaking of, The Morning Show returns today, September 17, with its Season 4 premiere on the 2025 TV schedule.

Elio - September 17 (Disney+)

Pixar was once unstoppable when it came to its films. It introduced countless new characters over dozens of films, with many of them becoming successful franchises. Of late, Pixar’s original stories have struggled at the box office, and Elio, the story of a boy looking for a home in another world, is just the latest to not draw an audience. That said, the movie is quite good, and if you have a Disney+ subscription, you owe it to yourself to check it out.

Gen V, Season 2 - September 17 (Prime Video)

The Boys and its various spinoffs have become one of the best reasons to get and keep a Prime Video subscription. While the main show is heading toward its final season, the college spinoff Gen V enters its second season this week. It will be our first look at how the fallout from The Boys impacted these characters, and we can expect all the mature superhero action the franchise has continued to provide.

The Morning Show, Season 4 - September 17 (Apple TV+)

One of Apple TV+’s early original series, The Morning Show, returns for Season 4 this week. Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston are back alongside a host of returning and new characters. Fans who have been waiting to see what happens next with the network TV drama will want to have their Apple TV+ subscription ready to go.

Black Rabbit September 18 (Netflix)

Jude Law and Jason Bateman were a pairing I wasn’t necessarily expecting, but at first glance, Black Rabbit looks like it might have a lot to offer and be the best reason to have a Netflix subscription this week. Bateman plays a down-on-his-luck guy who is in deep with organized crime. He turns to his brother, a successful restaurateur, played by Law, for help, and ends up drawing him into the criminal underworld too.

Tulsa King, Season 3 - September 21 (Paramount+)

Tulsa King, with Sylvester Stallone, was one of the earliest hits among those with a Paramount+ subscription, and now the series is getting ready to enter its third season. While we certainly don’t know everything that’s set to happen in the new season, one thing we do know is that it will introduce us to a new character, played by Samuel L. Jackson, setting up his own spinoff series, NOLA King.

If you’re waiting for Slow Horses or Marvel Zombies, you won’t have to wait too much longer./ September is almost over, and both shows will arrive before the month is out.

The new couple was reportedly introduced by mutual friends earlier this summer and have been quietly hanging out for the past few months. They’ve seemingly gotten closer to going public, though, as Jennifer Aniston and Jim Curtis have been on two double dates in the past few weeks, per People — one with Courteney Cox and her longtime partner Johnny McDaid and another with Jason Bateman and Amanda Anka.

It’s always fun to see which celebrities pop up in Jennifer Aniston’s Instagram photo dumps, and would the summer really be complete without a reunion between her and The Sandman? Or dinners with Jason Bateman and Sean Hayes? We’ll also never get tired of seeing her reunite with her Friends co-star Courteney Cox, even 20 years after one of the best sitcoms of all time ended (but can still be streamed with an HBO Max subscription).

Jennifer Aniston has made it clear that no one has the right to know about her personal life, but that won't stop us from hoping that maybe she'll choose to let us in a little and show us more of Jim Curtis (next time, maybe we can see his face).

It’s always a long two years between seasons of The Morning Show but, mercifully, we’ve come to the end of our latest hiatus. Season 4 is set to hit the 2025 TV schedule on September 17, and I am desperate to see Jennifer Aniston’s Alex Levy and Reese Witherspoon’s Bradley Jackson again (preferably in the same scenes) when the upcoming Apple TV+ show returns. EP Charlotte Stoudt teased their reunion, and I wasn’t expecting her comparison to Wicked.

Following the third season, fans of one of the best series on Apple TV+ complained that Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon didn’t appear in enough scenes together. While the showrunner admitted that the fictional TV hosts’ relationship is “pretty bumpy,” Alex and Bradley will always be important to one another’s story. She told TV Insider:

Wow, I did not see that one coming, but it makes sense. There’s a lot that’s different about Alex and Bradley, just like with Elphaba and Glinda (Galinda?) in Wicked. But each character brings something out of their counterpart and, in the case of The Morning Show, we just have to hope they bring out the best in each other.

(As for which TMS character would be Oz the Great and Powerful, we're all thinking Billy Crudup’s Cory Ellison, right? It seems like he’s always got something going on behind the curtain.)

In The Morning Show Season 4 (streaming with an Apple TV+ subscription), we’ll see the fallout of Bradley’s decision to turn herself in to the FBI after destroying evidence from January 6, as Alex deals with her new responsibilities following the UBA-NBN merger. Stella Bak (Greta Lee) is included in that as the new CEO, as well as part-owner Celine Dumont, played by new cast member Marion Cotillard.

These are some great and powerful women indeed, but Charlotte Stoudt warns that they’ll face plenty of obstacles. She said:

That alone sounds like enough of a real-world hook for Season 4. However, after The Morning Show tackled the Me Too movement, COVID, January 6 and abortion rights (among other things) in its first three seasons, we know a little bit about what’s in store for this next chapter, and it's more than gender politics. According to the EP, the journalists will be fighting deepfakes, A.I. and misinformation.

We’re certainly in for a ride, and I’m afraid it’s going to take Alex and Bradley more than a magic wand and a broomstick to get them out of that tornado. Tune in to see the soapy drama continue when The Morning Show Season 4 premieres Wednesday, September 17, on Apple TV+.

It doesn’t matter how many years pass; it will always be a delight to see the former stars of Friends showing that they actually are friends. In fact, the further away we get from that 2004 series finale, the more wonderful it is to see Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox and the others still showing love for one another. Those two in particular continue to be bestie goals, and a recent video proves they’ve also still got their comedy chops.

Jennifer Aniston will be fully entrenched in drama as Alex Levy when The Morning Show Season 4 hits the 2025 TV schedule, and Courteney Cox is returning to the horror realm as Gale Weathers, with Scream 7 coming to theaters in 2026. However, the Rachel Green and Monica Gellar portrayers slipped back into straight comedy in this Instagram video that shows Aniston blow-drying Cox’s hair. Check it out:

Honestly, how cute are they? You can tell they’ve been friends for 30 years by how easily they move around each other and play off of each other’s dry quips.

In the video, Jennifer Aniston says she’s been wanting to get at Courteney Cox’s hair with some of her LolaVie products to help her take care of that “frizz on top.” (Who else got immediate flashbacks of Monica’s hair in the Barbados humidity?)

Jennifer Aniston grabs some glossing detangler and starts to brush, which Courteney Cox calls a “miracle” because she apparently never brushes her hair. I laughed out loud at Aniston's reaction when she boasted that the product had won “like, 12 awards” (actually, it’s 14, per the LolaVie website) but was met with a distracted, “Has it really? That’s so cool,” from Cox.

Technical difficulties plagued the actresses when the blow dryer actually came out, but the Murder Mystery star got the hang of it and hit her friend with some Peptide Plumping Spray before leading a chant of:

Courteney Cox got some final touches of hair oil before Jennifer Aniston told her to turn to the camera and “show the people,” eliciting another chuckle from yours truly with this exchange:

Other than a stray strand threatening to go in Courteney Cox’s mouth, I think Jennifer Aniston did a great job. It was certainly better than when Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow) made Monica look like Dudley Moore:

This video is just further proof to me that these actresses have the best friendship, and they’d be a blast to hang around, even if all they were talking about was interior design.

The year 1994 was special for some people. For me, it was the year my big sister was born, and in television, it was the year that NBC debuted not one but two shows that arguably changed TV. Both Friends and ER premiered in September 1994, just days apart. One went on to become one of the best sitcoms of all time, and the other was one of the longest-running primetime medical dramas. These shows also share a fun connection, too, as Noah Wyle and George Clooney appeared on Friends during the first season. But that's not the only crazy connection, and Wyle has only just realized the other one.

When you think about it, Friends and ER have a handful of similarities. Both filmed on the Warner Bros. lot in Los Angeles, both premiered during the same month and year on the same network, both went on to become massive successes, and both are streaming with an HBO Max subscription. Then there’s also the fact that both shows have a character with the same exact name, although it's spelled a tad differently.

Friends has Rachel Green, played by Jennifer Aniston, who is one of the main friends for all nine seasons. ER, meanwhile, has Rachel Greene, the daughter of Dr. Mark Greene (Anthony Edwards), and she is played throughout the series by Yvonne Zima and Hallee Hirsh. During an interview with People, this fact was brought up to Wyle, who was on both shows, and it blew his mind:

It’s not surprising that Wyle didn’t realize this until it was mentioned. There are over 300 episodes of ER, and Rachel Greene only appeared in 26 of them.

Plus, both shows are so different from each other, and the characters are not alike. I also know that when I'm watching, I don’t necessarily think about the character names, even though they’re said quite frequently.

It is funny to know that the writers on both shows had the idea to name a character Rachel Green[e], though, and you can’t even fault them for it because they came out at the same time.

The coincidence is certainly a fun one, especially knowing that it likely was pure luck that the writers chose the same name for their characters. It would have been even better if the last name were spelled the same way, but I do appreciate that we can easily differentiate the two between Green and Greene.

Now, even though Friends and ER don’t have many connections, fans haven’t stopped comparing the sitcom to The Summer I Turned Pretty due to a particular “We were on a break” storyline courtesy of Jeremiah Fisher’s trip to Cabo. Fans have also been comparing Conrad to Jess Mariano from Gilmore Girls. Even after all these years, shows are still being brought up in discourse with either new comparisons or connections, and I just love to see it.

So, maybe we can find a way to sneak a Friends reference (like a character's name) into Wyle's new hit medical drama, The Pitt.

Paul Rudd boasts a pretty impressive resume, as he’s been part of some of the best movies of ‘90s and the 2000s, but one of his most notable TV roles has got to be Mike Hannigan on Friends. The actor has said that he felt so “strange” being included in the series finale that he cracked a bad joke that upset the cast. However, after hearing the full story, I’m surprised he wasn’t fired on his first day on set.

Friends fans were introduced to Mike Hannigan — the fan-favorite side character who would eventually marry Lisa Kudrow’s Phoebe — in Season 9, and over the course of the final two seasons, Paul Rudd reprised the role in 16 episodes. That includes the Season 10 series finale, “The Last One,” and the actor later told The Graham Norton Show it “made no sense to me whatsoever” that he was included. Feeling like a bit of a seventh wheel, Rudd said he decided to make a joke out of it. In his words:

I mean, it’s a good joke — Paul Rudd pretending that after joining so late in its run he had much of anything to do with the show already considered one of the best sitcoms of all time. However, with Jennifer Aniston — who Rudd had co-starred with in 1998’s The Object of My Affection — and the rest of the cast sobbing during the Friends finale, I guess they weren’t in a place to receive such humor.

However, there’s more to the story — it turns out the ill-timed joke wasn’t the worst stunt Paul Rudd pulled on the set of Friends. Apparently he had a run-in (literally) with Jennifer Aniston on his first day, and I’m actually surprised he was allowed to stick around. The actor said (via Buzzfeed):

This is probably the worst case scenario for someone on their first day of work. Paul Rudd said it’s obvious Jennifer Aniston was in pain as producers, writers and other crew around them rushed to her aid. Rudd continued:

Inauspicious indeed. Luckily for the actor, the writers must have known how vital Mike would be in Phoebe’s life, because Paul Rudd was able to keep his job. In fact, Mike’s role in giving Lisa Kudrow’s character a happy ending is precisely why the EPs have said it was important to include him in the series finale.

It sounds like quite a journey Paul Rudd went on with Friends — and Jennifer Aniston specifically. She must not have held too much of a grudge, though — for the foot injury or the bad joke — because the two went on to work together again, co-starring in Wanderlust in 2012.

As we all know, Friends is indisputably one of the best sitcoms ever and that’s largely due to the performers’ joint chemistry. Fans like me love to watch the fictional sextet true friendship goals highs and lows year in and year out. But what’s equally as addicting to watch are the series' many bloopers and breaking moments between the stars. The latest viral one I’ve had on repeat is Jennifer Aniston derailing thanks to a surprise Lisa Kudrow improvisation.

This summer, Friends has been a bit buzzy for a few reasons. There have been apparent parallels in Season 3 of The Summer I Turned Pretty, and along with it, an Instagram clip of Aniston breaking as Kudrow mimics a poorly played bagpipe. Specifically, Ross is practicing bagpipes in front of his pals. As he begins, he tells the quartet to join in on the indiscernible song, but Buffay humorously does, and kills Aniston in the process–check it out:

Naturally, every Friends watcher has a favorite, and my Phoebe Buffay flag rose long ago because of Lisa Kudrow’s comedy chops. This out-of-the blue mirroring a horrific sounding bagpipe solidifies her humor skills for me. The Morning Show star collapses perfectly in real time and I can’t blame her. The move is a master class of sheer improvised talent (it’s crazy we almost didn’t have Phoebe full-time, she was a character with a much smaller role originally).

Of course, this isn’t the only moment throughout the 10 Seasons she’s stolen the scene. The “Smelly Cat” singer actress has endlessly memorable quotes, and highs and lows that she nailed throughout. But plenty of commenters showed up to praise this A+ breaking moment of Aniston’s while hyping up Buffay/Kudrow. Among the countless laughing face emojis, people shared it was truly unscripted. Here are a few highlights:

I’m just obsessed with everything about the video. It’s one of the many contributing factors in leading Kudrow to still be highly recognized as Friends character, Phoebe Buffay to this day. But, the NBC character was just the beginning of seeing all that the 62-year-old had up her sleeve! She continued to prove she was a queen of comedy with her impressive follow up with The Comeback and has continued to this day with the black comedy, No Good Deed.

As I continue to return to this loud, wild but lol-worthy clip, it’s really making me debate another rewatch (via my HBO Max subscription). Maybe I’ll just find a Friends blooper reel but if it’s anything like Aniston laughing over Kudrow’s mouth bagpipe, I’m sure I’ll find myself returning to their apartments, Central Perk and more!
