Warning: SPOILERS for One Piece Season 2 are ahead!

One Piece Season 2 premiered on the 2026 TV schedule last week, and while there were a lot of new antagonists introduced to give the Straw Hat Pirates trouble, the biggest of them all was barely present. Joe Manganiello’s Mr. 0, the leader of Baroque Works, is only seen twice in Season 2: first from the shadows during “Wax Off, Wax Off,” and then in full during the final moments of the Season 2 finale, titled “Deer and Loathing in Drum Kingdom.” With that full look came a major reveal, and after watching the new One Piece season with my Netflix subscription, I think the live-action series handled the Mr. 0 twist better than the original manga or anime did.

Mr. 0 Is One Of The Seven Warlords

Mr. 0 is obviously a man of means if he can fund a secret, wide-reaching criminal syndicate. He’s also not someone to be trifled with physically, as evidenced by the massive golden hook covering his left hand, and when he used a mysterious power to dry up a plant on his desk (spoiler alert, he ate the Sand-Sand Fruit) after learning that Sanji, a.k.a. Mr. Prince, killed The Unluckies. Well, Season 2 revealed the truth about Mr. 0 before wrapping up: he’s really Sir Crocodile, one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, like Dracule Mihawk.

The Seven Warlords are supposed to be cooperating with the World Government in exchange for their bounties being cancelled and being generally given free rein. So Crocodile running Baroque Works in secret obviously flies in the face of that deal, and it’s no wonder he wants Vivi killed since she knows his true identity. Thankfully, we’ll be seeing a lot more of Crocodile when One Piece Season 3 adapts the Alabasta arc, as Joe Manganiello is one of the four actors who have been promoted to series regulars.

Netflix’s One Piece Smartly Plays The Crocodile Reveal More Dramatically

For as faithful as Netflix’s One Piece is to the source material, obviously, like with any adaptation, creative liberties are taken. In this case, Mr. 0 being revealed as Crocodile happens much later, as Vivi originally shared this information with the Straw Hats during the anime and manga’s Whisky Peak arc. More importantly, however, is the fact that Netflix opted to play this reveal in a dramatic fashion, whereas it was previously done for comedic effect, which included Nami violently shaking Vivi for blurting out this information.

Humor is one of the main things I’ve appreciated about One Piece since I read some of the manga in my younger years and then started the anime after watching the live-action show’s first season. In this case, though, I’m glad it didn’t try to make light of Mr. 0 being Crocodile. Having this criminal mastermind be one of the most powerful pirates in the One Piece world is a great twist, and as such, should be handled with a serious hand to make it all the more impactful.

I’m looking forward to seeing more of Joe Manganiello’s Crocodile in One Piece Season 3, as well as for people unfamiliar with the anime and manga to learn how much of a powerhouse he is. The good news is we won’t have to wait nearly as long for the next season as we did for Season 2, as it’s expected to premiere sometime in 2027. Then we’ll meet other Baroque Works members like Cole Escola’s Mr. 2, Awdo Awdo’s Mr. 1 and Daisy Head’s Miss Doublefinger.

The superhero genre continues to be wildly popular, and we've been treated to a number of DC projects in theaters and streaming with a HBO Max subscription. The new DCU is the brainchild of co-CEO James Gunn, who announced the first slate of projects titled Gods and Monsters. But some folks are still looking back at the previous DCEU, and now Joe Manganiello has joined Zack Snyder in posting some throwbacks. Although the Magic Mike actor's Deathstroke post has some fans confused about upcoming DC movies.

Snyder has been posting a ton of DCEU images lately, with his fans being encouraged to campaign for the studio to #RestoreTheSnyderVerse. Manganiello has now joined the fun, posting a clip from Justice League on Instagram. Check it out below:

You can't deny that the True Blood star looked awesome as Deathstroke. Unfortunately, he never really got his time to shine in the DCEU. The Ben Affleck Batman movie was scrapped, as was the Justice League sequels. So Manganiello's tenure as Deathstroke ended up being a few brief cameos in both version of Justice League; luckily we got a new scene thanks to the Snyder Cut's Knightmare sequence.

While there's no indication that Manganiello will return as Deathstroke in the new DCU, that hasn't stopped fans from questioning, debating, and hoping that he gets another chance opposite Ben Affleck's Batman. The comments section on his IG post are filled with these types of responses, which read:

While some folks are clearly hoping that some of the scrapped DCEU movies get new life, the likelihood of that actually happening seems unlikely. We're still in the early stage of the new DCU, so it would be shocking if James Gunn and company went backwards to the previous shared universe. Still, that Zack Snyder's hardcore fans seem singularly focused.

In some ways this passion is understandable; the Snyder Cut being released originally seemed like a pipe dream. But fans kept the discourse going, and eventually Warner Bros. relented. Although the idea of the studio spending money to produce new projects in the scrapped shared universe is even more unlikely.

The DCEU is streaming over on HBO Max, including Joe Manganiello's brief tenure as Deathstroke. The next DC movie hitting theaters is Supergirl on June 26th as part of the 2026 movie release list.

It's been nearly nine years since The Vampire Diaries ended, but the supernatural teen drama remains a favorite among fans. The cast of TVD still frequently discuss and pay homage to the series, whether it’s with small, personal reunions, fan convention appearances or personal reflections shared to social media. It’s hard to imagine anyone else playing the show's characters. Still, I'm intriguing after learning Jason Momoa and Joe Manganiello read for one major character.

Samantha Highfill, Entertainment Weekly’s executive editor, published a book centering on The CW drama, I Was Feeling Epic: An Oral History of The Vampire Diaries. For her deep dive into the beloved series, Highfill took an introspective look at the successful series, which spawned two spinoffs and shared excellent behind-the-scenes details by way of exclusive interviews with the cast and crew. Highfill also shared some of the most surprising things she learned while writing the book, including the casting.

It's known that Paul Wesley was nearly permanently cast as Damon Salvatore, a role that ultimately went to Ian Somerhalder before Wesley nabbed the role of Stefan. However, that’s not the surprising casting choice that Highfill discovered. While chatting with co-creator Julie Plec, Highfill found out that Momoa and Manganiello actually read for the role of history teacher and vampire hunter Alaric Saltzman. Of course, the role of Saltzman ended up being played by Matt Davis, who remained with the show for much of its eight-season run.

I honestly cannot imagine either of Manganiello or Momoa portraying Alaric, and I'm actually glad the castings didn't pan out. A big reason for that is because had Momoa landed the part, there's a chance he wouldn't have gone on to play Khal Drogo in the first two seasons of Game of Thrones. For further context regarding his career around the time TVD was being developed in the late 2000s, Aquaman star was coming off his role as Ronon Dex in Stargate Atlantis. Vampire Diaries could've been a big gig for Momoa, though it could be argued that it might've shifted the trajectory of his career.

Meanwhile, years ago, Joe Manganiello was landing recurring roles in How I Met Your Mother, ‘Til Death and fellow CW drama One Tree Hill. I don’t know about you, but if I had to see Manganiello go from playing bartender and Brooke’s love interest, Owen Morello, on OTH to playing a vampire hunter on TVD, I would've felt some serious whiplash.

There's also the fact that Manganiello had a starring role on True Blood beginning in 2010. Magnaniello played Alcide Herveaux and, if he had gotten Vampire Diaries, the HBO drama series would've been without a key star. I won't lie, it is somewhat interesting to think about how Maganiello and Momoa would've approached Alaric performance-wise. Still, I'd like to think that everything ultimately worked out just fine for both actors, who've certainly had their share of success.

And, of course, Matt Davis ended up playing Alaric Saltzman quite well. Fans can watch his performance by streaming The Vampire Diaries with an HBO Max subscription. Coincidentally, the streamer also contains movies and TV shows that Momoa and Maganiello have starred in.

We’ve unfortunately seen a lot of TV shows end or get canceled in 2025, including some big ones like Stranger Things, whose final episodes are airing this month, and CBS’s S.W.A.T., which is at least getting a Shemar Moore spinoff. The reality competition world didn’t make it through the year unscathed either, as Peacock just canceled Joe Manganiello’s Deal or No Deal Island, which will effectively end another show on the streaming service.

Before its cancellation, as reported by Deadline, Deal or No Deal Island ran for two seasons (streaming with a Peacock subscription), featuring casts comprising veterans of other series like Survivor and The Amazing Race. One of its Season 1 contestants was Rob Mariano, aka Boston Rob, who has made a career out of reality TV as a veteran of both of the above series, as well as The Traitors. Following his time on the island, he went on to host the Deal or No Deal Island After Show.

There, he got to share his strong opinions about the competitors’ strategies, including why eventual Season 2 winner David Genat was “so dumb” when dealing with the banker in the finale. With the game show hosted by Joe Manganiello coming to an end, it seems pretty clear that the aftershow is also gone, despite the lack of an official announcement.

The cancellation of Deal or No Deal Island reportedly comes amid falling ratings from the first to the second season.

The series was an adaptation of the game show Deal or No Deal, whose American version premiered in 2005. Most of the original game mechanics were still involved, with contestants partaking in challenges to secure briefcases to take into The Temple to try to beat the banker. It premiered in 2024, with its second and final season airing earlier this year.

It seems that Joe Manganiello will have more time to focus on his other projects, like One Piece, where he has been promoted to a series regular for Season 3, even though Season 2 isn’t set to premiere until March on the 2026 TV schedule. The first eight episodes can be streamed with a Netflix subscription.

As for Boston Rob, he’s also already on to new things following the presumed end of the Deal or No Deal Island After Show. While hosting remains an interest for Mariano, he recently announced an upcoming YouTube series with Dylan Efron, with whom he formed a bromance on The Traitors Season 3.

Everything’s a Competition will premiere at noon ET Thursday, December 11, on YouTube and will probably finally give us the answer to our several questions about why Rob Mariano and the recent Dancing with the Stars contestant were sword-fighting in medieval attire back in August.

The cancellation is still tough news for fans of Deal or No Deal Island — especially since it really means the end of two shows — but at least Joe Manganiello and Boston Rob will still be around.

One Piece Season 2 is just a few months away from premiering on the 2026 TV schedule, but for the Netflix subscription-exclusive show’s cast and crew, the time has come to work on Season 3. The third batch of One Piece episodes are now filming in Cape Town, South Africa. Along with this announcement coming with a cool tease tied to Portgas D. Ace, Monkey D. Luffy’s brother, I’m excited to learn that four characters we’re meeting in Season 2 will have a lot more screen time in Season 3.

Let’s start with that tease first. As seen below, the One Piece Season 3 premiere script, titled “Where There’s Smoke,” is sitting out in the desert alongside a human skull, a Log Pose (which allows one to safely traverse the Grand Line), and a distinctive-looking dagger. That dagger, in fact, belongs to Ace, who will be played by Cobra Kai’s Xolo Maridueña in the live-action adaptation.

As if this wasn’t a big enough One Piece reveal to kick off this week, Netflix also announced that Joe Manganiello, Mikaela Hoover, Lera Abova and Sendhil Ramamurthy have all been promoted to series regulars in Season 3. This shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone who’s familiar with the Alabasta arc from the One Piece manga or anime, but it’s nonetheless good to hear that Manganiello’s Crocodile, Hoover’s Tony Tony Chopper, Abova’s Miss All-Sunday and Ramamurthy’s Nefartari Cobra will have more to do following their introductions in Season 2. We’ll also spend more time with Charithra Chandran’s Miss Wednesday in Season 3.

I won’t share any details about why these four characters in particular have bigger roles in One Piece Season 3 for those who haven’t read the manga or watched the anime. However, I do want to go back to the script for Season 3’s first episode, which was written by Ashley Wigfield and is directed by Christoph Schrewe. To provide a minor spoiler, I’d say it’s a strong bet that this is where we’ll see Luffy and Ace reunite in Alabasta, which wouldn’t be a problem if they didn’t run into Callum Kerr’s Smoker, a Marine Captain. Luffy and Smoker will first cross paths during Season 2 in the Loguetown story.

Along with Xolo Maridueña debuting as Ace, One Piece Season 3 will introduce Cole Escola as Bon Clay, a.k.a. Mr. 2, a high-ranking member of the Baroque Works criminal syndicate. More casting news is forthcoming, but given how long it took Season 1 and 2 to film, don’t expect Season 3 to premiere until sometime in 2027. Not to fret though, as One Piece’s second season will drop March 10, 2026 on Netflix. Stay tuned to CinemaBlend for our continuing coverage of the series.

Paul Reubens died at 70 in 2023 after a private battle with cancer, though his comedic talents are still fondly remembered. He's particularly iconic due to his alter ego, Pee-wee Herman. After the bowtie-wearing man-child character's lengthy hiatus, he returned one more time in Pee-wee’s Big Holiday (which is streamable on Netflix subscription). The film paired the titular character with a new, very famous best friend, Joe Manganiello. Now, the True Blood actor is emotionally reflects on his late co-star and the “vivid” dream he had about him.

In Pee-wee’s Big Holiday, Joe Manganiello plays himself, befriending the quirky Fairville resident who convinces him to go to New York City to attend his birthday party. The two characters’ bond is at the heart of the 2016 movie, and Manganiello described to THR that their real-life friendship was just as meaningful, saying the late actor once came to him in a “vivid” dream:

It sounds like Paul Reubens was an incredibly thoughtful friend who made sure to make you feel cherished on your most important day. Just hearing those comments about his commitments to remembering birthdays is enough to bring a tear to a person's eye. Given that information, it totally tracks that Reubens, who co-wrote the 2016 Pee-wee film, would have his character leave his small town for the first time to make it to a birthday party.

Hearing Joe Manganiello talk about that dream is also a bit surreal. It appears that even despite Reubens' death, his memory still remains within Manganiello's subconscious. I do like the notion of the late Batman Returns star pranking his co-star in his dream. Seriously though, the most meaningful friendships truly do leave a lasting imprint on the heart.

Shortly after news of Paul Reubens’ death broke, Joe Manganiello opened up about his dear friend, saying he was “one of the greatest comedic geniuses of all time." Manganiello also shared how Reubens fought for other “artists and weirdos.” The Spider-Man actor continued to tell THR about even more positive qualities the Primetime Emmy nominee and how they manifested on set:

That first-encounter moment Manganiello had with Reubens shows what kind of person he was. On set, the actor apparently still conveyed generosity while wearing his tight-fitting gray suit and belting out his distinctive “Ha ha!”

Before Paul Reubens passed away, he left behind one major project for HBO, as he put together a two-part documentary on his life. Joe Manganiello told THR he hadn't seen it at the time of the interview, but he's glad that it’s out there so that people can get to know who his buddy truly was.

Paul Reubens leaves a serious void, and one that likely won't be filled. While he is missed, like Joe Manganiello, we can remember and revisit his work and appreciate just how talented to he was. Hi, I'm Alex, and I'm a cooking addict. I've honestly called myself a "foodie" more times than I can count, so to watch Nonnas with my Netflix subscription was like a dream come true—or sheer torture, considering how ridiculously delicious the food looked and how famished it left me. But ironically enough, though food was everywhere on set, stars Vince Vaughn and Joe Manganiello did not consume nearly as much as you might imagine considering how much food is visible on the screen from scene to scene.

Nonnas debuted on the 2025 Netflix schedule recently, and there are so many shots of tasty food from the eponymous grandmas. Of course, when I spoke to Vaughn, I had to inquire as to how much indulged. He did admit it was just "a little bit," because you do attempt to be virtuous—but even he gets hungry viewing the movie now.

The food in Nonnas honestly is the stuff of dreams. Think: ultimate level of comfort food. These are the kind of dishes you could probably see on many of the best cooking shows, but that also have a home-y quality you'd (probably) never get from a pro chef. The experience is tangible, and honestly, I feel this movie deserves to have several slots on our best cooking scenes list. At the very list, Netflix audiences seem to be into watching the flick.

What about stars who weren’t in as many of the cooking scenes? That’s where Joe Manganiello comes in, who responded that he didn’t get to eat as much because he wasn’t in as many of those memorable food scenes – which is wild considering how many scenes viewers see him eating in. However, behind-the-scenes, Mangianello told me he was absolutely tucking it back in the NY and New Jersey dining scene:

My god, twelve-course meals? Four times a week? I don’t think my stomach would be able to handle that. I personally believe Nonnas is the feel-good movie of the year, but my god, I don’t think my body would be feeling too good after that.

The good news? The cast was fed in some capacity, even if it was small, little bits here and there on set or huge get-togethers with the cast and crew. Now, excuse me while I figure out how to put together my own Sunday gravy.

It really feels like it has been just a day since we were sailing along with the favorite Straw Hat Pirates of the live-action One Piece, but it has almost been two years since we made our way out to the seas. There's been such a long wait for One Piece Season 2 that I had to get an update during my interview with new cast member Joe Manganiello, and what he said regarding filming put my excitement through the roof from 100% to 1,000%.

While speaking with the actor about his new Netflix movie Nonnas, my curiosity got the better of me, and I had to inquire about the process of making Season 2. All I was told is that it is done (as we already know). However, the bigger news is that they are about to start filming for Season 3 very soon, with Manganiello saying:

That's such exciting news! While we still don’t have a confirmed premiere date for One Piece Season 2 (and trust me, I’m on the edge of my seat waiting for any updates), it’s pretty amazing that Manganiello already knows when he’ll be back to film Season 3. With Season 2 wrapped up, we can expect a release date announcement soon—maybe by the end of this year or early next year!

When the news broke about Manganiello joining the One Piece adaptation, fans were over the moon to see him take on the popular villain Mr. 0, a.k.a. Crocodile. The fact that he’ll be back for Season 3 just amps up my excitement for what’s coming next. I seriously can’t wait to see more!

The One Piece Season 1 finale left us with a sense of adventure, as our beloved Straw Hat Pirates—Luffy, Nami, Zoro, Sanji and Usopp—set sail in search of the Grand Line. It was clear that their journey was far from over, especially with how well the show has been received by fans. The future is definitely bright for our favorite crew!

If you’re looking to dive into the original anime, it’s one of the best series to start with (just be ready for a long ride, given the sheer number of episodes). And if you want to be part of the live-action experience, make sure to catch Season 2 when it finally drops—even if it doesn’t show up on Netflix’s 2025 schedule, we’ll get there eventually. My excitement just keeps building with every new update!

There’s quite a bit we know about One Piece Season 2, including that Joe Manganiello has been tapped to play Crocodile, the hook-handed antagonist who ate the Sand-Sand Fruit and is one of Monkey D. Luffy’s oldest enemies in the manga and anime. While we’re still a ways off from the next season premiering on the 2025 TV schedule and getting to see how Manganiello will look as the live-action Crocodile, I’m pretty jazzed that in real life, the True Blood alum ran into one of the most badass actors from Season 1. Now my fingers are crossed in the hope that these two share screen time on One Piece someday.

While attending the Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul fight, which, like One Piece, can be streamed with a Netflix subscription, Manganiello ran into Steven John Ward. If the name doesn’t sound familiar, maybe you’ll recognize the name of his One Piece character: Dracula Mihawk. Yes, Ward played the world’s greatest swordsman in one of the best shows on Netflix, and now he’s been able to meet one of the newest One Piece actors who’ve come board. But there’s more tying Crocodile and Mihawk together besides simply existing in the same world. Early on in One Piece, both their characters are among the Warlords of the Sea, i.e. pirates who have been pardoned and given significant leeway, provided that they carry out directives from the World Government. Later on, Crocodile and Mihawk form Cross Guild (which Buggy the Clown ends up leading), hence Joe Manganiello’s shoutout in the caption.

There was a lot to enjoy in One Piece Season 1, and one of my favorite moments was when Dracule Mihawk fought Roronoa Zoro outside of the Barite restaurant, a fight in which the latter was sorely overmatched. Just watch the scene below and join me in hoping that Netflix’s One Piece brings Crocodile and Mihawk together:

There’s just one potential problem with this. The One Piece manga and anime are still going, with the former beginning in 1997 and the latter debuting in 1999. So obviously I don’t think the Netflix show will be able to cover that same amount of narrative real estate, but even so, Crocodile and Dracule Mihawk don’t cross paths until the Marineford arc. Considering that One Piece Season 2 will stop right before the Alabasta arc, and making my own estimations for what seasons will cover which arcs, Netflix’s One Piece would need to run until a seventh or eight season to hit Marineford, and the chances of that happening are extremely slim.

That said, this is an adaptation, and there are already some big differences between Netflix’s One Piece and the anime, like introducing Luffy’s grandfather Garp way earlier. So maybe the writers can find a way to bring Joe Manganiello’s Crocodile and Steven John Ward’s Dracule Mihawk together much sooner. I hope so, because the idea of seeing these characters fight or team up in live-action sounds amazing. Last week was en eventful one for One Piece fans, specifically those invested in the live-action adaptation that’s streamable with a Netflix subscription. In addition to the first look at Chopper in the now-filming One Piece Season 2 being shared, it was also confirmed that Joe Manganiello and Lera Anova will respectively play Mr. 0, a.k.a. Crocodile, and Miss All Sunday, a.k.a. Nico Robin. Following this latest round of casting news, Manganiello has shared his opinion on what makes Crocodile such a compelling villain, particularly when it comes to being a foil for Monkey D. Luffy.

Joe Manganiello and Lera Abova got together with One Piece showrunner Matt Owens durng Netflix’s Geeked Week 2024 event to discuss coming aboard the series. When Owens asked them what kind of research they did for their roles, Manganiello started out by saying he has “tables and shelves full of all these different versions of Crocodile to look at” while he’s “going through the material.” Ultimately though, what matters most to him for playing a character like Crocodile is making him feel “real,” which entails understanding the “different intentions” and “different path” he has compared to some of the other characters. Manganiello then said:

As the leader of the Baroque Works crime syndicate who ate the Sand-Sand Fruit and was once one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, the hook-handed, cigar-smoking Crocodile was one of the most powerful adversaries Luffy faced early on into One Piece’s manga and anime run. As Joe Manganiello mentioned, Crocodile also has bitter history with the powerful pirate Whitebeard, which would later be explored in the Impel Down and Marineford arcs. While there’s certainly no question that Crocodile is a bad guy, Manganiello has done his homework and honed in on the traits that make his character feel third-dimensional.

Because One Piece Season 2 won’t cover the main Alabasta arc, we shouldn’t expect to see Joe Manganiello’s Crocodile come to blows with Iñaki Godoy’s Luffy, unless the live-action version decides to include an extra fight. Still, with the way Manganiello is talking, I’m hopeful this means next batch of episodes will dedicate enough time to exploring what makes this baddie tick, and then in Season 3 (which hasn’t been greenlit), we can really get into the meat of his characterization. I also share in my colleague Mick Joest’s wish that Manganiello’s Crocodile shares scenes with Jeff Ward’s Buggy the Clown in Season 2, even though those two didn’t meet until much later on in the One Piece manga and anime.

Other newcomers who will be featured in One Piece Season 2 include David Dastmalchian’s Mr. 3, Katey Sagal’s Dr. Kureha, Sendhil Ramamurthy’s Nefertari Cobra, Charithra Chandran’s Miss Wednesday and Callum Kerr’s Smoker, among many others. Although the next season doesn’t have a premiere date set yet, it’s likely to arrive sometime in 2025. You can keep yourself entertained until then by scanning through the other best shows on Netflix that can be watched now.

One Piece Season 2 is in production, and the series is slowly rolling out big announcements to keep fans eager to binge it with a Netflix subscription. It's safe to say people are more excited than ever after the latest reveal that Joe Manganiello will play Mr. 0, also known as Crocodile. I'm thrilled to see the actor play the iconic villain, and I'm hoping to see him cross paths with one specific character.

There's already so much to look forward to in One Piece following the recent first look at Chopper that I feel greedy hoping for anything more. That said, in a season where we're already getting stellar castings like Katey Sagal as Dr. Kureha and David Dastmalchian as Mr. 3, why not reach for the stars? If Crocodile is popping up in Season 2, can we get a scene or two with him meeting Buggy?

I Need Crocodile And Buggy To Interact In Season 2

Captain Buggy has always been a stand-out character on One Piece, but he was given a chance to shine in Netflix's live-action adaptation. The character stuck around the Straw Hats far longer than he did in the anime's adaptation of the confrontation with Arlong, and we already know there's a good chance he'll be popping up again as the Straw Hats get on the Grand Line. The question is, will he get a chance to rub shoulders with the Baroque Works syndicate and its leader, Mr. 0?

I'd love to see it happen, especially given how Jeff Ward has crushed playing the role of Buggy in live-action. He's earned a little more screen time in this adaptation, and seeing as we know this version of One Piece isn't beyond differing from the anime/manga and giving characters like Kobe and Helmeppo extra scenes, it's possible this could happen.

The Two Didn't Meet Until Much Later In The Anime, But Cross Paths Later

There is reason to introduce Crocodile and Buggy to each other sooner should Netflix's One Piece wish to do that. Without getting too deep into spoilers, they first rub shoulders in the Impel Down arc and later end up in what is known as the "Cross Guild." I'll leave those who haven't reached that part in the manga or anime in suspense on what that fully entails, but I will note it was mentioned when Jeff Ward and Joe Manganiello were on stage together during the announcement:

There would be ample reason to feature at least a scene in which Buggy and Crocodile meet each other in the live-action series. At the same time, Crocodile's reputation as one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea makes him one of the more dangerous figures of the pirate world and not someone to take lightly.

Buggy doesn't tend to seek trouble he can't handle, so if he crosses paths with Crocodile, I'd assume it would be 100% on accident. Ultimately, I'm not sure if we're going to see them together in a scene anytime soon, but hopefully this series gets enough seasons so we'll eventually see it happen.

One Piece Season 2 is likely on the way to Netflix in 2025. Keep occupied in the meantime by checking out all the shows on the 2024 TV schedule, and believe me, there is plenty to get through before the new year.

One Piece Season 2 began filming in South Africa in July, and while it remains to be seen when the next batch of episodes will arrive to Netflix subscription holders, there’s been a lot of casting news that’s been shared in recent months. Today brings confirmation of two more actors who are coming aboard for Season 2, but that’s arguably not even the biggest news of the night. Rather, we’ve also gotten our first look at Chopper, the next Straw Hat Pirates crew member to be introduced, in the live-action One Piece.

Our First Look At One Piece Season 2's Chopper

Given that Chopper is a reindeer who ate the Human-Human Fruit and gained the ability to transform between a regular reindeer, a gigantic human and a smaller form melding the two, there’s understandably been a lot of curiosity among fans over how he’ll be depicted in Netflix’s One Piece. Well, now we have an idea about what to expect from that last form thanks to an inside look released by Netflix. Check it out:

As you’ll see at the end of the video showing footage from the table read for One Piece Season 2, we get to see the back of the smaller humanoid Chopper wearing his distinctive pink hat “seated” alongside the other cast and crew members. While it would have been great to see how the little guy’s face will look and learn who will be playing him (though there’s already an actor rumored for “Heavy Point” Chopper), at least we now know that this version of Chopper will be realized through CGI rather than practically. There’s quite a bit of attention to detail, too, as you can make out the fur on Chopper’s antlers and hat. Hopefully the final product will end up looking pretty close to how the character looks in manga and anime form.

Who's Playing Mr. 0 And Miss All Sunday In One Piece Season 2

In addition to this Chopper reveal, Netflix also officially confirmed that Joe Manganiello and Lera Abova will respectively play high-ranking Baroque Works members Mr. 0 and Miss All Sunday in One Piece. Better known by their real names, Crocodile and Nico Robin, the former leads the criminal organization and ate the Sand Sand Fruit, allowing him to create, control and turn his body into sand, while the latter, his second-in-command, ate the Flower-Flower Fruit, allowing her to replicate parts of her body on any surface or person.

I won’t spoil what happens to these two for those who are watching Netflix’s One Piece with no knowledge of the manga/anime, but I will say these two go on to play big roles in the wider mythology. Manganiello is, of course, known from movies like Magic Mike, True Blood, Zack Snyder’s Justice League and Moon Haven. Abova’s credits include the movie Anna and playing DJ Das Boot in the TV series Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin. They join other newcomers like David Dastmalchian as Mr. 3, Katey Sagal as Dr. Kureha, Sendhil Ramamurthy as Nefertari Cobra and Charithra Chandran as Miss Wednesday, a.k.a. Vivi.

My fingers are crossed that the first full look at Chopper will arrive before 2024 is over, but whether it happens then or sometime in 2025, you can count on CinemaBlend to share it. Production is underway for One Piece Season 2, and we've seen some stellar casting announcements so far. Joe Manganiello's Hosting Gigs Have Fans Convinced He's Playing Crocodile

Rumors that Joe Manganiello has joined the cast of One Piece sparked up once again with the announcement of Netflix's Geeked Week 2024. It's readily assumed that the streaming service will unveil more news about Season 2, and it just so happens that Manganiello was tapped to host the event, as seen in the post below.

That alone does not sell the idea that One Piece locked him in as Crocodile, but other strange coincidences line up. For example, we know that Manganiello partnered with Netflix and provided voicework for the 2020 anime follow up to Army Of the Dead. While the project has purportedly been shelved indefinitely, actors who work with Netflix tend to stick around for multiple projects, so I think it helps the theory.

Fans are also scouring Joe Manganiello's Instagram for clues and pulling up photos that could be innocent at face value but also cryptic clues alluding to the role. For example, check out the second photo in his post about Deal or No Deal Island Season 2, where he can be seen holding a crocodile.

If I were filming on an island and someone let me hold a baby crocodile and pose for a photo, I'd certainly do it without it being a cryptic hint at my professional future. That said, hopeful fans can't help but think that this could be a possible clue that he'd be able to cheekily point to after a hypothetical casting reveal. Like I said, none of the above is truly convincing on its own, but the combination is enticing.

This is also the case with this other Instagram photo, in which One Piece fans questioned Joe Manganiello making an appearance at an MLB game for a pretty coincidental team.

Would Joe Manganiello attend a Pittsburgh Pirates game merely for the sake of stealth-promoting a future role on One Piece? I'm skeptical of that, especially since Manganiello is indeed a Pittsburgh native. So I'm more inclined to believe he was just attending a baseball game for his hometown team. BUT! Can two things be true at the same time? Certainly.

Joe Manganiello Would Be The Perfect Casting For Crocodile

Assuming this casting is anywhere near legitimate, I can't think of a better person to play Crocodile for One Piece. If Joe Manganiello never gets to reprise his role as Deathstroke, playing Crocodile would provide similar vibes, though with very different abilities. As one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, Crocodile remains one of the more powerful figures of One Piece and one of Luffy's rivals as the story continues.

Crocodile is intimidating, strong, and looks damn good smoking a cigar. Manganiello checks all those boxes, plus he's on the record as being pretty geeky. If he is playing Crocodile, I could see him taking it very seriously, and giving us a performance that is very faithful to the character. For that reason, I hope this rumor is true, even if some of the evidence supporting it is shaky.

In the wake of his public divorce from Sofia Vergara, Joe Manganiello’s dating life has been the subject of much speculation and curiosity. He is currently in a relationship with One Tree Hill alum Caitlin O'Connor, and it seems to be going well. The True Blood actor sparked even more interest in his personal life when he recently opened up about still having dreams of becoming a father, and revealed it is something at the forefront of his mind as he pursues other relationships after his divorce.

Manganiello was a guest on the podcast Popcrushed, which is hosted by You star Penn Badgley, as well as Nava Kavelin and Sophie Ansari. He opened up about his life growing up, and initial struggles when he first became an actor. He also got comfortable enough to chat about his desires within his personal life, and he wants to have kids after being a strong presence in the lives of his nieces and nephews. He said:

This statement caught wind, especially considering the idea of having children was rumored to be a point of tension that led to the divorce between him and Vergara. The Modern Family star was married before Manganiello, and had her son when she was still a teenager. Allegedly, Vergara didn’t want to continue having children within her marriage to Manganiello, while the Magic Mike actor had a desire to be a father. If this was the sole reason for their split is unconfirmed, but this statement by Manganiello continued to fuel rumors surrounding their divorce.

Both actors have since moved on from their split, so whatever their individual desires were within their marriage, they are now able to explore with other people. Vergara is also dating, and is currently with orthopedic surgeon Justin Saliman, who she was first linked to in October 2023. The actress posted a photo of the two of them vacationing in Italy, and seems happy and in love again. The decision to divorce is never an easy one, but both stars seem to be content as they individually look for new love.

As for Manganiello, he seems to not only be pursuing love, but also fatherhood. The 47-year-old actor is navigating a new chapter of his life, and is also seemingly making his intentions very clear. When asked about his hard-launch in a new cover story with Men’s Journal, Manganiello said this:

Manganiello, however, does not agree that this was the reason for the dissolution of their marriage. In his words:

What’s more, it seems orthopedic surgeon Justin Saliman has won the approval of at least one of Vergara’s America’s Got Talent co-hosts. Heidi Klum opened up about her friend’s new romance, calling Saliman “such a sweetheart.”

Sofía Vergara has definitely shown a sense of humor during what had to have been a difficult divorce. When discussing her tattoos during an interview on The Talk, she joked that the “J” she’d gotten inked on her wrist for Joe Manganiello had been “recycled” and now was for Justin Saliman.

Divorces are not easy things to go through, but in this case it sounds like both parties have come out happy on the other side. Joe Manganiello, for his part, has moved on as well, going public with girlfriend Caitlin O’Connor in February.

Viola Davis

In the 1998 crime comedy Out of Sight, which is undoubtedly one of Steven Soderbergh's best movies, Viola Davis has a small role playing Moselle Miller, the wife of boxer Maurice "Snoopy" Miller (Don Cheadle). She would later go on to act alongside her Out of Sight co-star Jennifer Lopez in another crime flick, 2015's Lila & Eve.

Philip Seymour Hoffman

The 1992 Martin Brest melodrama Scent of a Woman memorably stars Al Pacino as a blind retired colonel and Chris O'Donnell as the prep-school student hired to watch over him, but it also features Philip Seymour Hoffman in one of his earliest performances as a fellow student named George Willis, Jr.

Carey Mulligan

The Bennet household is a bustling one in Joe Wright's 2005 adaptation of the Jane Austen classic Pride and Prejudice, so much so that you might have overlooked that — along with the likes of Keira Knightley, Rosamund Pike and Jena Malone — a teenaged Carey Mulligan is one of the Bennet sisters. (It's just one of many movies that prove Mulligan should be a much bigger star.) 

Elijah Wood

Long before he embarked on a quest to destroy the One Ring as Frodo in The Lord of the Rings, Elijah Wood was a successful child actor in films like The Adventures of Huck Finn, The Good Son, North and Flipper. However, before those starring roles, the pint-sized performer showed up as "Video Game Boy #2" in Back to the Future Part II.

Octavia Spencer

The 1999 Drew Barrymore comedy Never Been Kissed is jam-packed with unexpected actor appearances, from Jessica Alba to James Franco — together they play a dopey but popular high school couple — to Octavia Spencer. The latter plays a coworker of the main character Josie Geller (Barrymore) at the Chicago Sun-Times.

With everything that goes on in Christopher Nolan's Interstellar — you know, that whole part about the astronauts who have to travel through a wormhole near Saturn in search of a new home for humankind — viewers may have forgotten that a fresh-faced Timothée Chalamet as Tim, the teen son of Matthew McConaughey's Cooper. 

Brie Larson

Well before she received an Oscar or donned a superhero cape, Captain Marvel star Brie Larson was a tween actress who had a main role in the short-lived WB sitcom Raising Dad. Charlize Theron

If you're a fan of The Wonders, you no doubt remember band members Guy (Tom Everett Scott), Lenny (Steve Zahn), Jimmy (Johnathon Schaech) and the bass player (Ethan Embry). However, you may not so readily remember that Charlize Theron is also in That Thing You Do!, as Guy's ex-girlfriend Tina, who leaves him for her dentist. 

Joe Manganiello 

Before making the ladies sweat in the Magic Mike franchise, Joe Manganiello was making Peter Parker sweat for an entirely different reason in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man film series, playing the high-school bully Flash Thompson. His character dated Kirsten Dunst's Mary Jane before she ended up with Spidey himself (Tobey Maguire).

The titular teen protagonist of Donnie Darko (played by Jake Gyllenhaal) doesn't just have to deal with those disturbing visions of a rabbit-costumed man named Frank. He also has to deal with a pair of high school bullies, one of whom is played by Seth Rogen in his first ever movie appearance. 

Amy Adams

The Steven Spielberg-directed crime comedy Catch Me If You Can featured several now-well-known actresses before they were household names, including Ellen Pompeo, Elizabeth Banks and Amy Adams. The latter acted opposite Leonardo DiCaprio (played teenage con artist Frank Abagnale Jr.) as Brenda Strong, a young hospital worker who falls for Frank and his fraud. 

Keira Knightley

Given her uncanny resemblance to Natalie Portman, it's only fitting that a teenage Keira Knightley appeared as Sabé, a handmaiden and royal decoy for Portman's Padmé Amidala in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace. Even Knightley herself could use a reminder about who she played in the space trilogy!

Michael Fassbender

Years before memorable film roles in Inglourious Basterds, Jane Eyre, the X-Men movies and his Oscar-nominated turn in Shame, Michael Fassbender made his film debut in the 2006 action epic 300. He played the character of Stelios, a young, spirited and highly skilled Spartan soldier fighting under Gerard Butler's King Leonidas.

Sandra Oh

"Gupta? Mhm. Mhm. Mhm. The queen is coming!" It's one of the most memorable lines uttered in The Princess Diaries and it's said by none other than a pre-Grey's Anatomy Sandra Oh. Joining Anne Hathaway and Julie Andrews in the beloved cast, Oh plays the humorous vice principal at Mia Thermopolis's school. 

Margot Robbie

Before her big breakout in The Wolf of Wall Street — and even longer before she painted the world pink with the phenomenon that is Barbie — rom-com fans got their first introduction to Margot in the 2013 romantic dramedy About Time. The 1989 Ron Howard-directed comedy Parenthood already has a stacked cast — Steve Martin, Rick Moranis, Keanu Reeves, Mary Steenburgen and Dianne Wiest, to name a few — before you even remember that one of the youngins in the movie is played by a teenage Joaquin Phoenix, then going by his birth name Leaf.

Samuel L. Jackson

It's hard to remember a time when Samuel L. Jackson wasn't a major movie star, but in the 1970s and '80s, the iconic actor was racking up bit parts in big titles, including Eddie Murphy's Coming to America. In the 1988 rom-com, Jackson plays a character known as "Hold-Up Man," an armed robber who has held up the local fast-food restaurant called McDowell's five times. 

Kristen Stewart

Though she has been acting professionally since grade school, Kristen Stewart didn't become a global star until she played moody teen Bella Swan in 2008's vampire romance Twilight. But years before that, she played a memorable part in the 2002 David Fincher thriller Panic Room, appearing opposite Jodie Foster as her character's daughter. 

Dakota Johnson

\Dakota Johnson had her big Hollywood breakthrough leading a beloved book-to-film adaptation, as Anastasia Steele in the erotic Fifty Shades film series. But she actually showed up in another huge movie five years earlier: 2010's The Social Network, as a college coed who spends the night with Sean Parker, played by Justin Timberlake. 

Gabrielle Union

Before she led the Clovers to cheer competition victory in 2000's Bring It On, Gabrielle Union was given supporting roles in '90s teen favorites like 10 Things I Hate About You and She's All That. The latter was actually her film debut, in which she appeared as popular girl Katie, a member of Zack Siler's (Freddie Prinze Jr.) friend group. 

Nicolas Cage

Technically, Nicolas Cage wasn't in Fast Times at Ridgemont High. But Nicolas Coppola was — when he made his feature film acting debut in the 1982 coming-of-age comedy, the actor was still going by his birth name. However, the Oscar-winning star would later change his name professionally to avoid nepotism allegations. (He is, of course, the nephew of director Francis Ford Coppola and actress Talia Shire, and a cousin of director Sofia Coppola and actor Jason Schwartzman.)

Johnny Depp

Johnny Depp memorably made his big-screen debut in the 1984 horror film A Nightmare on Elm Street, but movie fans might not remember that a short while later, he also appeared in Oliver Stone's war film Platoon as a young soldier fighting in the Vietnam War alongside the likes of Charlie Sheen, Willem Dafoe, Tom Berenger, Forest Whitaker and Kevin Dillon. 

Natalie Portman

Natalie Portman has had a prolific acting career ever since she was a tween, starting from when she starred as the young protégée of a hitman in the 1994 action film Léon: The Professional at only twelve years old. Though that was an instantly memorable introduction to the performer, you might have forgotten that only a year later, she worked alongside screen greats like Al Pacino and Robert De Niro in the Michael Mann-directed classic, Heat. 

Tom Holland

He's most famous for spinning webs as Spider-Man but long before that, Tom Holland was making his film debut (and making audiences weep) in the 2012 disaster drama The Impossible, as a young boy desperately trying to reunite with his family following a horrific tsunami. 

Vince Vaughn

The heartwarming 1993 sports drama Rudy — about a young man (Sean Astin) who dreams of playing football at the University of Notre Dame — features an ironic pair of film-acting debuts. It was the first movie roles of both Jon Favreau and Vince Vaughn, playing teaching assistant D-Bob and tailback Jamie O'Hara, respectively. That duo would famously go on to star in the 1996 buddy comedy Swingers. 

Ryan Gosling

Another early football role for a Hollywood heavyweight, a young Ryan Gosling already had some big TV gigs under his belt (The Mickey Mouse Club, Young Hercules) before he appeared as Alan Bosley, the wiry cornerback of T. C. Williams High School's football team in Remember the Titans. And if you remember that locker-room singalong, you know the little Goose had charisma even then!

Mila Kunis

Yes, that is a mini Mila Kunis in Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves — she played a friend of Wayne Szalinski's (Rick Moranis) niece, who throws a house party once it seems like all of the grown-ups have left for the evening. (Instead, the adults have been accidentally zapped to microscopic proportions, naturally.) 

Daniel Craig

Before he was Bond, James Bond, Daniel Craig was Ballard, John Ballard, in the 1998 historical drama Elizabeth. The British actor portrayed a priest-slash-assassin who conspired with the Duke of Norfolk (Christopher Eccleston) to overthrow Queen Elizabeth I (played by Cate Blanchett) from the throne. Of course, Bond would never treat the Queen of England that way!

Jake Gyllenhaal

Given that filmmaking is a family business for Jake Gyllenhaal — he is the son of film director Stephen Gyllenhaal and screenwriter Naomi Foner, and the younger bro of the great actress Maggie Gyllenhaal — it's not a shock that the actor started young. He made his film debut at age ten in 1991's City Slickers, playing the son of Billy Crystal's character Mitch Robbins. 

Kerry Washington

Kerry Washington is best known for playing crisis management expert Olivia Pope in the ABC drama series Scandal, but more than a decade earlier, she showed off her fix-it skills as Chenille Reynolds in Save the Last Dance, helping Julia Stiles's character Sara better integrate into their South Side high school and hip-hop culture at large. 

Ben Affleck

Like his famous best friend Matt Damon, Ben Affleck also began his acting career as a child and while eagle-eyed moviegoers no doubt remember spotting him in early-'90s films like School Ties and Dazed and Confused, they may have forgotten his uncredited early cameos, such as "Basketball Player 10" in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie. 

Joe Manganiello is known for roles on both the big and small screen, thanks to projects as varied as True Blood and Magic Mike. It’s the former that really made him a household name when he played Alcide Herveaux for five seasons as part of the True Blood cast (after originally being intended as a guest star). Years later, he’s still well-liked by the fanbase, so much so that sometimes he gets the darndest gifts from his adult fans. And when I say “darndest,” I mean totally NSFW. 

In fact, during a recent conversation with longtime interviewer Andy Cohen the two got to talking about gifts Manganiello has gotten from True Blood fans. Some of them seem to be really, really into werewolves, just maybe not in the way you’d expect. OK, or maybe exactly in the way you’d expect. The actor said on Watch What Happens Live that he once got a comic book from a fan that he maybe should have read immediately, particularly given how aware he was regarding how explicit the Max series could be. He told the funny story to the popular host, noting of the extravagant gift:

Hindsight is 20/20, and it was after the second conversation with the fan that Joe Manganiello’s story took a strange turn (via People) when Manganiello actually took a real, hard look at what he’d been given. He recalled exactly what was written in the book, noting “ It was him as an anthropomorphic rabbit meeting an anthropomorphic wolf man.” Before he could continue Cohen interjected to flatly state, “they fucked.” As Letterkenny’s Wayne would say if he were in this situation: "can confirm.” Manganiello didn’t stop there with the story, either, giving us even more detail.

Yup, saying the fan created a graphic novel would be an understatement. Having said this, Manganiello is very open to the idea of living out the werewolf fantasy some more. In a separate conversation with Cohen, he also said he feels he has “unfinished business” with that sort of character, given how Alcide was written off of True Blood toward the end.

(If you fell off during the final seasons, spoiler, Alcide was shot in the chest and face before the finale, effectively ending his run before True Blood wrapped with Season 7.) 

Granted, I don’t think he’s looking for a storyline involving a rabbit.

Meanwhile, Joe Manganiello isn't the only actor with a wild fan story. The Walking Dead's Norman Reedus was famously bitten by a fan once during a Walker Stalker Con meet and greet. And a Game of Thrones fan once asked Hannah Waddingham if he could "ring" her bell. Thankfully, a lot of fans are perfectly run-of-the-mill and polite, but there are plenty of stories like this one out there. 

Tattoos can be tricky business when it comes to honoring a significant other, especially if that relationship comes to an end. Pete Davidson, for example, had some work to do in getting some ink removed after his breakup with Kim Kardashian, and it's something we've seen over and over again amongst celebrities. However, Sofía Vergara is proving that sometimes you don’t have to go through all the trouble of removing or altering your body art, as she revealed how the tattoo she got for her now-ex-husband Joe Manganiello has taken on a new meaning.

Sofía Vergara and Joe Manganiello announced last summer that they were divorcing after seven years of marriage. The America’s Got Talent host has had to deal with the split publicly, even taking playful shots from her fellow AGT judges! It doesn’t seem to be a topic she has a problem talking about, though, and she gave a very candid answer when discussing her tattoos on a segment of The Talk. She showed off the two small initials she sports — one on each wrist — explaining that one was for her brother who died, and as for the other …

At that point, Sofía Vergara was forced to stop talking because everyone in the studio was in absolute fits. The matter-of-fact way she referred to the Magic Mike actor as being “gone” caught the hosts and the audience off-guard, and things only got louder when she finished her sentence, revealing what the ink means to her now. Vergara continued:

Sofía Vergara’s son Manolo, who appeared on the CBS talk show with her, put his head in his hands as his mom and the hosts laughed at the tattoo being a “recycle,” and you really have to respect the positive spin on the situation.

For the record, Sofía Vergara is currently dating Justin Saliman (note the first initial J), who she was seen out with following her solo red carpet appearance for Griselda in February. The Modern Family alum was actually first spotted with the orthopedic surgeon back in October 2023, per Page Six, so it seems both halves of the former couple have happily moved on, as Joe Manganiello has reportedly started seeing Caitlin O’Connor.

Despite the fact that it could never be easy to end a seven-year marriage, Sofía Vergara has maintained an outwardly positive attitude throughout the split. In the months after the breakup, she reflected on how “lucky” she was to be having so much fun post-divorce, going to concerts and vacationing with friends. She said the past year has been interesting with a lot of changes, and that in life, both bad things and good things happen.

She really embodied that c’est la vie attitude in the easy way she was able to take her “J” tattoo that she got for Joe Manganiello and repurpose it to honor boyfriend Justin Saliman. While chatting with People about both her personal and professional life, Vergara got real about the majority of it being public. When asked point blank what “the most challenging thing about dating in the public eye” is, the actress didn’t hold back as she said:

As many actors and public figures know, attention comes with the gig. Overall, Vergara seems to be handling all this in stride. While a divorce is never easy, the former couple’s was reportedly not contentious, and the actress “knew” it would play out publically. 

Now, she seems to living her best life as she's rumored to be dating Justin Saliman, an orthopedic surgeon and the founder of OutcomeMD, per Today. Plus, she’s also opening up about what she’s looking for in a partner, what deal breakers she has, and they reasons why she doesn’t want more kids. 

Sofía Vergara Opens Up About Not Wanting More Kids

Along with candidly discussing dating in public, Sofía Vergara also opened up about “deal-breakers” in a new relationship. When asked what they were, she responded with: 

Later in the story, the Modern Family alum spoke about her marriage with Joe Manganiello – which ended over “irreconcilable differences” per divorce paperwork – and how their opinions on having kids caused a rift (among other things) in their relationship. Speaking about why she didn’t want more children, Vergara said:

Vergara shares one kid, Manlo, with her ex-husband Joe Gonzalez, and he’s 32 years old now. Based on these quotes, she loves being a mother, however, she’s at a point in her life where she doesn’t want more kids.

The 51-year-old actress continued, saying that while she respects women who want kids when they’re older. However, raising a baby at this point in her life is not what she wants. Speaking about why, Vergara said:

She makes a fair point, and overall, she seems to be living her life exactly how she wants to and giving it 100%.

During its time in theaters, the DCEU had plenty of twists, both in front and behind the camera. No movie had a life quite a wild as Justice League, which performed poorly in the box office and saw fans campaign for the Snyder Cut. Justice League's credits scene revealed Joe Manganiello as Deathstroke, but he never actually got to take the spotlight as the character in an upcoming DC movie. The True Blood alum revealed how he'd like to reprise his role in the DCU, and I'm sold.

While Joe Manganiello got to briefly return to his villain role via the Snyder Cut reshoots, both fans and the actor wanted more-- especially given the original plans for Deathstroke. The 47 year-old actor previously spoke at a convention (via ComicBook) about how he'd like to bring back the Batman villain, saying:

Honestly, sign me up. You can't deny how badass Manganiello has looked as Deathstroke, even if his role in both versions of Justice League was small. And it would be a thrill to see him get to finally explore that character via a show for those with a Max subscription. Are you listening, James Gunn?

Manganiello's comments show how much thought he put into the role of Deathstroke, despite never getting to actually star in a DC movie. The post-credits sequence of Justice League set up a sequel that never happen, and the Magic Mike actor was expected to be the villain in Ben Affleck's cancelled Batman movie. And as such, he never got to really own his role as Slade Wilson. 

There are currently countless questions about DC's future, on both the big and small screens. Co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran decided to leave the DCEU behind and form a new shared universe. The first slate of projects is titled Gods and Monsters, but details like casting and plot are being kept under wraps. But since Manganiello never got to really take center stage as Deathstroke, perhaps he can be brought back in a project like The Brave and The Bold. Only time will tell.

At the time of writing this story, Gunn and Safran confirmed a handful of returning DC characters who would reprise their roles in the new shared universe. So maybe Joe Manganiello can take a meeting with the studio and convince them to bring him back. Fingers crossed.

But as the pair have been separated since last summer with plans to divorce, and Manganiello has started dating actress Caitlin O’Connor. An inside source spoke to ET about how the Modern Family actress has reportedly felt seeing her ex-husband move on.

It appears that Sofía Vergara isn’t bothered seeing her ex-husband date again. After all, the real reason for their split was a common problem married couples go through. With Vergara being four years older than the True Bloods actor, they disagreed with each other about having kids together. Considering the Colombian-American actress has a son in his 30s, she said she’d be old enough to be a grandmother if she were to be a new mother now. If the 51-year-old were to have another set of kids, she said they would have to be step-children from a new man. If two people want different things, it looks like they made the right call splitting up so they both can move on romantically with people who want what they want.

How the Golden Globe nominee allegedly felt about her divorce from Joe Manganiello was that even though her marriage didn’t work out, she’s still happy with her life right now. The same ET source continued to report about Sofía Vergara’s “new chapter” in her life and the excitement of what’s to come.

Vergara is clearly a strong woman to still find excitement and fun in her life despite her ongoing divorce. In fact, the Chasing Papi actress has said how “lucky” she was to be having so much fun since the split being asked by her friends to attend a number of concerts with them. The Emmy nominee reportedly also has a new romance of her own with Dr. Justin Saliman, a sports medicine-focused orthopedic surgeon. However, a different source has said the two are allegedly just taking things slow right now. 

It may have been tough for Sofía Vergara and Joe Manganiello to have their marriage end, but it appears that the two have reportedly moved on with different love interests as they embark on the next stage of their lives. To be clear, plenty of women have had children later in life and have likely served as great mothers. There’s also nothing wrong with being a “grandma.” One can still understand the point that the former Modern Family cast member is trying to get across, though. Simultaneously, Joe Manganiello’s desire to have kids is also valid. But, having been through parenthood with her now-32-year-old son, Manolo, it’s not something the actress wants to dive back into later in life. Additional comments the Emmy nominee shared also seem to suggest that she’s not sure if she has the time to commit to a new baby at this point in her career: 

She is a busy lady these days. Since 2020, she’s served as a judge on America’s Got Talent alongside Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel. Right now, she’s also receiving praise for her performance as the titular drug kingpin in the limited series Griselda (which resulted in a lawsuit for the actress). She’s also joined the cast of the upcoming Despicable Me 4. So I can admittedly see why she wouldn’t want to put everything on hold to care for another little one. With all of that said though, she is looking forward to becoming a grandmother, and she shared a joke about that dynamic:

I don’t know about you, but I think the Strays alum would make a fun grandma. And given her personality, it wouldn’t be the least bit surprising if she proceeds to spoil the child. To that end, Vergara continued, saying if her body turned heads in her direction, it’s been her hard work ethic, dedication, and positive personality that has held the attention. She’s not afraid of other women who may be perceived as prettier or as having a better physique, because she knows she’s talented, and doesn’t let others opinions hold her back. That kind of confidence should be sold in pill form, and if it also manages to keep one looking as young as Vergara has for so many years, all the better.

This outlook and this self-acceptance may or may not have played a part in her eventual drifting away from Joe Manganiello during their seven-year marriage, but it's important to address that Sofia Vergara doesn't seem to be harboring any major regrets about the way things went. Speaking about her personal life, she confirmed that her lack of interest in becoming a "new" mom in her 50s was a driving factor, saying:

At this point in her life, Sofia Vergara's boobs are no longer in "motherly sustenance" mode, and nor are they in "open professional doors" mode. But they do seem to be something of a bonus for "single woman starting to date again" mode. 

While it’s not clear how much of a process her boobs went through for her new project, Vergara did indeed go through a bit of a transformation for her new streaming series Griselda, the crime drama for which she stars as the drug cartel queen Griselda Blanco. It was also noted, though, that the two were “living different lives” and “rarely on the same page,” so it was only a matter of time before it came time to “call things off.”

Despite Sofía Vergara and Joe Manganiello’s marriage not working out, towards the end of July 2023, the Modern Family alum was reportedly feeling “very fortunate” in the aftermath, and six months later, she’s still hanging in there. More recently, Vergara’s Modern Family co-star, Julie Bowen, provided an update on her status and managed to work in a funny Taylor Swift joke in the process. 

Modern Family has been out of production for a few years now, but many of its cast members still appear to be quite close. That includes Julie Bowen and Sofia Vergara, who played relatives on the long-running ABC mockumentary. Bowen spoke warmly about her friend and colleague when she caught up with People. As for how Vergara has been doing since she and her ex opted to divorce, her buddy says she’s doing “great.” Bowen also declared that her co-star: 

The Life of the Party actress seemed to be humorously referencing the pop star’s recent trips to Kansas City Chiefs football games. Bowen joked about feeling envious about the fact that some stars have more recently been able to lean on the “Fearless” singer for support:

As of late, Taylor Swift has been showing a considerable amount of love for her friend, Sophie Turner, who is currently in the midst of a divorce from Joe Jonas. Turner accompanied Swift to the Chiefs’ game against the New York Jets last weekend. In The Kill Room, Joe Manganiello plays a hitman with a heart of gold, so to speak. He’s a mild-mannered artist who has found himself in an unfortunate situation. The film’s director, Nicol Paone, knew that there was more to Manganiello as a performer, but it was during a pivotal confession scene that this truly hit home for her:

Nicol Paone is absolutely right, and I prompted this reaction after confessing to her that The Kill Room is my favorite Joe Manganiello performance of all time. It is subdued in all of the right ways, and quite heartfelt despite the film’s quirky tone. The Kill Room is a crime-comedy that boasts a stellar cast beyond Joe Manganiello; including Uma Thurman, her daughter Maya Hawke and Samuel L. Jackson (whose role was originally written as a 72-year old Jewish man) are also heavily in the mix. 

It’s worth noting that Manganiello has been making headlines a lot lately, and not for The Kill Room. This year, he and Sofia Vergara divorced after seven years of marriage. He also lost his friend Paul Reubens, so he hasn't had the easiest time as of late. However, things are looking up, as not only will he be hosting Deal Or No Deal Island, taking the game show franchise reins from Howie Mandel, but he has The Kill Room showing a whole new side to the actor.

Vergara reportedly enjoys going out with friends, while her now-estranged husband prefers to stay at home, and they realized they aren’t often on the same page, according to sources. 

There are also rumors that children may have played into the decision to end their marriage, with Joe Manganiello allegedly wanting to be a father and the Modern Family actress not wanting to commit to that. Despite the breakup, Sofia Vergara had nothing negative to say about her situation, continuing: 

I love that Sofia Vergara seems to be looking at the good things to come, rather than wallowing in the end of her marriage (since wallowing would be a completely understandable and justifiable reaction). In fact, the America’s Got Talent judge called herself “lucky” to be able to have so much fun with her friends amid the split. Over the past few months, Vergara has attended concerts by Beyoncé and Karol G, as well as Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, so it’s hard to disagree with her perspective!

She even referenced her relationship status on AGT, announcing she was single when a contestant made a funny slip during his act. Though the media coverage on their separation doesn’t look to be dying down on their separation, in an ironic twist of fate, now they have something in common. It’s been announced that Manganiello has landed his own NBC show, though in this case, he’ll be filling the role of game show host.

The man who brought Flash Thompson to life in 2002’s Spider-Man has been tapped to host Deal or No Deal Island, a spinoff of the original Deal or No Deal where, as described in the official synopsis, “13 players are transported to the elusive Banker’s private island to compete for cash in a season-long, fully immersive competition.” NBC unveiled Manganiello’s involvement with the help of Howie Mandel, Vergara’s fellow America Got Talent judge who hosted Deal or No Deal in both the United States and Canada. As Mandel fully admits in the video, given that he’s a germaphobe, hosting a game show set on an island isn’t in his wheelhouse. Enter Joe Manganiello, who fits Mandel’s criteria of being adventurous, loving games, is good-looking and, yes, not your average Joe… man, that was a rough pun. Mandel ensured that Manganiello is properly to host Deal or No Deal Island by filling that briefcase he gave him with plane tickets, masks, gloves and an “inner thigh.” Manganiello caps off the video by declaring that he, everyone else involved in the spinoff and the audience are “going to have a good time.”

Corie Henson, NBCUniversal Entertainment's Executive Vice President of Unscripted Content, gave the following statement about Joe Manganiello being selected to host Deal or No Deal Island:

Deal or No Deal Island was announced back in May, with the spinoff being said to be a mix of its predecessor and Survivor. The spinoff will combine the classic Deal or No Deal game with “thrilling challenges” and “mind-bending” dilemmas as they try to beat the Banker. Manganiello will guide things along by “leading the game play, relaying the Banker’s tempting offers and helping them through the toughest decisions of their lives.” 

The trademark Deal or No Deal briefcases are hidden throughout the island and contain millions of dollars split between them. However, each episode, players will have a chance to score what’s described as the “highest-value briefcase” for a chance to “gain immunity” and choose a fellow player to enter The Temple, where they will play a classic, high stakes Deal or No Deal game. By the end of the season, the last player around will “face the Banker to potentially win the biggest prize in Deal or No Deal history.”

Deal or No Deal Island will premiere sometime in 2024 on NBC. When she was asked about the heightened frequency of live music experiences, Sofia Vergara graciously gave her nearest and dearest the credit for getting her out and about. In her words:

To be sure, Vergara hasn’t ever really been much of a homebody — she was out on an Italian vacation when her divorce news broke — and it’s rumored that her lust for life and fun experiences was a hurdle in her relationship with Joe Manganiello, who is allegedly more prone to hanging out with friends around the house, playing RPG games. This supposedly led to them spending more time apart as time went on, and it seems like their respective behavior patterns have stayed fairly intact.

As NBC was busy airing its numerous weeks of America’s Got Talent audition rounds, star judge Sofia Vergara and now former hubby Joe Manganiello revealed that they’re heading for divorce after seven years of marriage. She’s reportedly doing okay with everything in the aftermath, and trying to keep a positive attitude. And she certainly seemed to exude such vibes whenever Howie Mandel rather quickly joked about her being “single” in the competition series’ return to live eps for the Qualifiers, though it didn’t stop some fans from calling him out for going there already. Ever the comedian, Mandel responded by amusingly doubling down on his initial comments.

During the episode, Howie Mandel quipped to 12-year-old ventriloquist Brynn Cummings, whose act involved a female puppet looking for a boyfriend, that his co-judge Sofia Vergara would have advice about eligible bachelors, since she’s “in the market right now.” The moment could have easily landed with a dull thud, and AGT’s Heidi Klum and Simon Cowell weren’t about to engage in that subject matter, but Vergara herself was clearly amused by the off-handed divorce reference. Which is probably why Mandel felt free to lean into his joke even more when talking to Extra about viewers who weren’t so approving. In his words: 

Would it be amusing and slightly disturbing if Vergara went all in on agreeing with Mandel’s thoughts, and tried getting some girl time alone with the puppet in order to share dating advice? Absolutely on both counts. But we (probably) don’t need to worry about things reaching that level, unless wayyy too much alcohol is involved.

Howie Mandel joked that anyone watching the interview should send their romantic suggestions into the show, but when asked who he thought she’d be a great match for, the Gremlins vet became more sincere in saying Vergara didn’t need his input when it comes to finding new love. He continued: 

Naturally, that sincere approach was dropped immediately, as Mandel joked that Vergara should find a match before the end of the current America's Got Talent season, so that they could have audiences vote on what the outcome would be. Considering how many people attain celebrity status by looking for love on reality TV shows, it only makes sense for there to be more shows that feature already established celebrities gamifying their own lovelives. Not that this should be an instance where that's put into practice, or that it should ever be put into practice. But expect Howie Mandel to sign on to EP that project if it comes into existence.

Season 18 of America's Got Talent is heating up now that the qualifiers round has begun in the 2023 TV schedule, and the first post-audition episode delivered something that might not have made it to the airwaves if the broadcast wasn't live on NBC. When the judges were giving feedback to young ventriloquist Brynn Cummings, Howie Mandel seized the opportunity to crack a joke about Sofia Vergara's divorce from Joe Manganiello, and Vergara – sitting with just one seat separating her from Mandel – had an iconic reaction.

12-year-old Brynn Cummings' ventriloquist act for the qualifiers involved one of her puppets looking for a new boyfriend after a breakup, and she recruited Heidi Klum's help. Afterward, Howie Mandel said this to the young performer: 

It was a clear reference to her divorce from Joe Manganiello, and the crowd didn't seem to know whether or not to laugh. Simon Cowell started looking around the room, and Heidi Klum seemed to not want to look in any direction other than straight ahead. For his part, host Terry Crews immediately started saying "No! No, we are not doing that here!" and then tried to move the judging along. Sofia Vergara's reaction was the best, as she immediately cracked up at the joke and lifted her arms with a big smile of acknowledgment. What could have been extremely awkward was pretty funny instead!

This isn't the first time that Howie Mandel has poked fun at his fellow judges' personal lives on America's Got Talent, including when he roasted Simon Cowell for breaking his back during an incident with an electric bike. Like Sofia Vergara, Cowell laughed at the joke at the time. When you sit at a table for hours on end with a professional comic, maybe you just have to be ready for anything! For her part, Vergara told the beautiful story of Joe Manganiello's proposal on AGT a couple of seasons ago. 

News that the Modern Family alum was splitting with her husband of seven years broke back in mid-July, and a usual reason was cited for why it was happening. The paperwork for the divorce filing revealed what she was aiming to keep independently after their split (including jewelry, artwork, and earnings), but there was apparently no argument over whether Vergara or Manganiello would keep custody of their dog. 

Whether Sofia Vergara was genuinely amused by Howie Mandel's comment or just being a good sport is hard to say, but she definitely had a fun reaction to the joke about her divorce on America's Got Talent. I was excited for and proud of David Corenswet when I learned he had joined writer and director James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy cast as the new DCU’s official Clark Kent. However, I also recognize that some will alway see Christopher Reeve as the definitive Man of Steel, and others are still bummed about Henry Cavill’s exit from the role, and I imagine there are many who still believe no one has topped George Reeves since he debuted in 1951.

Of course, as we could say about the lead role in just all the best superhero movies ever made, none of these icons were the first choice to play the Last Son of Krypton and some big names have been approached to don the old red and blues, but never took flight for one reason or another. Let’s take a look back at some of the most notable actors who almost played Superman — starting with one who is no stranger to live-action DC movies already.

Joe Manganiello

Years after playing Flash Thompson in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man, Joe Manganiello joined the DC Extended Universe as deadly assassin, Slade “Deathstroke” Wilson — a role met with “much disappointment,” as he ended up only making brief appearances in a post-credits scene in 2017’s Justice League and a dystopian flash-forward in the Snyder Cut. That was actually not his first disappointing experience with a DC role, as he recalled to ComicBook.com, having previously met with Zack Snyder about leading 2013’s Man of Steel. Unfortunately, the actor claims his contractual commitment to one of Manganiello’s best TV shows, HBO’s True Blood, prevented him from taking the time he needed off for the project.

Brendan Fraser

Speaking of disappointing DC movie experiences, Brendan Fraser’s role as pyromaniac villain, Firefly, was one of the things we wished we could have seen in Batgirl before Warner Bros. cancelled the movie. Yet, as he told Howard Stern, the Academy Award-winning star of The Whale experienced his first disappointment involving a DC character in the early 2000s when he auditioned for a Superman movie that never got made, called Superman: Flyby. While Fraser was, admittedly, intimidated by the idea of the Man of Steel being his definitive role, losing the opportunity with the project’s cancellation was a let down, but at least he can say he got to voice RobotMan on Doom Patrol for Max.

Matt Bomer

Speaking of Doom Patrol, Fraser’s co-star, Matt Bomer, plays Larry “Negative Man” Trainor, who must keep his radioactive skin covered in bandages. However, underneath them is a dead ringer for Clark Kent, which is why it comes as no surprise that — according to ComicBook.com — he was also considered for the lead role of Superman: Flyby, coincidentally. Luckily, the former White Collar cast member would go on to voice a couple of iconic heroes in animated DC movies — namely The Flash in Justice Society: World War II and Legion of Super-Heroes, and the Man of Steel himself in 2013’s Superman: Unbound.

Josh Hartnett

Despite having a couple of non-superhero comic book movies under his belt — Sin City and 30 Days of Night — Josh Hartnett has had more than one chance to be a superhero, being an actor who could have played Batman and Superman, as well. The Oppenheimer cast member revealed to Mr. Porter that he turned down the lead role in 2006’s Superman Returns — which eventually went to Brandon Routh — because he was more interested in projects outside of the mainstream following the major boost in fame he got from starring in Pearl Harbor.

Jude Law

Another actor who was considered for the mid-2000s Superman reboot before Routh was cast was Jude Law. The two-time Oscar nominee recalled to Stephen Colbert on Late Show that he actually tried on the hero’s iconic costume in private and initially enjoyed the experience, but was frightened by the idea of seeing what he saw in the mirror on advertisements all over the world. He would eventually take a supporting role in one of the Marvel movies — Yon-Rogg in Captain Marvel.

Sylvester Stallone

An actor who can say he has been in a few of the best Marvel movies and a DC movie, as well, is Guardians of the Galaxy (Vol. 2 and 3) and The Suicide Squad actor Sylvester Stallone. While he would make his comic book movie as the title role of 1995’s Judge Dredd, it could have happened much earlier when he met with director Richard Donner about leading 1978’s Superman. According to the filmmaker’s words to THR, Donner liked the Rocky movies star, but he was against the idea of casting a big name and eventually got his wish when the then-relatively unknown Reeve was brought in.

Paul Newman

Another big name who was considered to for Donner’s Superman before Reeve was Paul Newman, who was in his early 50s when the film was in development. On an audio commentary recorded for the film’s 2006 DVD release, producers Ilya Salkind and Pierre Spengler claimed that the future Academy Award winner (for 1986’s The Color of Money) was actually offered the choice to play either Clark Kent, his nemesis Lex Luthor (which went to Gene Hackman), or his father Jor-El (whom Marlon Brando famously played). Newman did wind up starring in a much different kind of comic book movie, Road to Perdition, which, coincidentally, also stars Law.

Will Smith

In 2008, while promoting his own superhero movie not inspired by a comic book, Hancock — in which he plays a cynical, drunken bum with Superman-esque abilities — Will Smith revealed to MTV that he could have been the real thing. He passed on the Superman Returns script, though, because, as he put it, playing Jim West in the 1999 flop, Wild Wild West, convinced him, “you can't be messing up white people's heroes in Hollywood!” The Academy Award winner (for 2021’s King Richard) would later agree to play the anti-heroic Deadshot in DC's Suicide Squad, which turned out to be one of his most financially successful films.

Nicolas Cage

Perhaps the best-known example of an actor who almost played the Man of Steel comes from the story behind one of the most famous (if not infamous) DC movies that never happened — Superman Lives. As he recalled to Variety, in the 1990s, Nicolas Cage was cast in his dream role for the film that was set to be directed by Tim Burton, until it was scrapped after a series of behind-the-scenes issues. However, Cage would eventually receive the honor of playing Superman on two different occasions: voicing him in Teen Titans GO! to the Movies in 2018 and a digitally de-aged cameo in The Flash, in which he fights the giant spider Superman Lives producer Jon Peters requested.

There are several actors our own Sarah El-Mahmoud once thought would be perfect to play Superman after Henry Cavill — such as Yellowstone’s Wes Bentley or Michael B. Jordan, who is producing a miniseries about a Black version of Superman named Val-Zod that we hope still happens. However, as we may come to find out, Gunn and co. choosing David Corenswet, alongside Rachel Brosnahan as his Lois Lane, might work out for the best.

True Blood alum Joe Manganiello joins Hollywood in grieving the untimely loss of the iconic Paul Reubens. The entertainment world was deeply saddened by the Mystery Men actors' passing at the age of 70 on Monday. Following the news of his death, many individuals, including Manganiello, shared heartfelt stories about the late star. Divorces can get messy as a couple works to split up their assets and figure out custody for children and pets. However, when it comes to Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello’s divorce, some of these negotiations have reportedly gone quite smoothly. This was apparently the case when it came to their dog Bubbles, as they came to an agreement about her allegedly without arguing. 

The America’s Got Talent judge noted her requests to keep jewelry, art, earnings and more recently. However, when it comes to their dog, she apparently is more than willing to give her ex-husband full custody. Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello apparently agreed that Bubbles, their 10-year-old Chihuahua-Pomeranian mix, would stay with the Magic Mike star according to The Daily Mail. Per this report, the Modern Family alum “graciously” made this agreement too, as an insider claimed:

The source then went on to say the decision was reportedly easily made, and they didn’t argue over it at all. They also claimed that Vergara has been very kind in this section of the negotiations, as they said:

While Vergara adopted the dog, the article made it very clear that Bubbles and Manganiello are much closer. It noted that the True Blood star would take the pup with him everywhere. An insider explained:

Overall, it seems like this divorce is playing out fairly peacefully. Vergara apparently “feels very fortunate,” even though she’s sad the marriage didn’t work out. It’s also been claimed that there is really “no drama” between the two, despite rumors that Manganiello’s career path hurt their relationship. 

In the case of their dog Bubbles, it seems like their divorce is moving along relatively smoothly. They reportedly came to this agreement with no agrument, and as more news comes out about how their split will affect their lives moving forward, we’ll be sure to keep you updated.

• Earnings made before, during, and after their date of separation

It's possible the initial prenup agreement was vague about how personal items and certain financial details would be handled in the event of a split. Couples in love don't always take the time early on to hammer out endless specifics by way of prenups, so this could be a case where Vergara felt that the wording was vague enough that her jewelry, art, and more might be construed as being Manganiello's property.

Elsewhere in the paperwork, Sofia Vergara noted that she wanted spousal support details to be determined by the agreement. As well, the pair's communical property will be split up accordingly, with both celebs agreeing to foot the bill for their own legal fees. 

The break-up announcement and divorce filing took place as Sofia Vergara was on an Italian vacation, and the days since have been peppered with varying reports on what may or may not have led to their marriage dissolving. Some rumors have pointed to his lackluster film career as of late having caused some tension, as Manganiello is reportedly more keen on staying around the house and playing Dungeons & Dragons with friends, while Vergara loves to go out and about, whether it's local shopping and partying or vacationing around the globe.

But as CinemaBlend previously reported, their couplehood was allegedly marred by Joe Manganiello’s career path in recent years, as he became more of a homebody who enjoyed staying in, while Vergara is all about traveling and getting out to have a good time. 

Given that they were reportedly spending more time apart due to those differing interests, she was at least able to continue living life to the fullest, as opposed to being pressured into staying at home with him all the time. Thus making the post-relationship transition that much easier to deal with, at least theoretically. It probably also helps to be living in the same home and having that familiarity as comfort. It’s unclear where Manganiello is currently living, but hopefully he’s doing as well as can be also.

The pair released a shared statement noting the split, with the Magic Mike franchise vet officially filing for divorce days later. Several rumors have floated around in the time since, with many pointing to the notion that Vergara was the more unsatisfied of the two, and a new report singles in on the idea that she didn’t feel supported, with her expectations about their future dashed by his career moves. 

Joe Manganiello offered up the reason of “irreconcilable differences” when filling out divorce paperwork, and some of the reported differences have been broached by sources allegedly close to the celebs. According to PageSix, the couple's relationship soured in ways due to Vergara allegedly feeling "stifled" by someone she considered to be a "largely unsupportive partner" in Manganiello. As well, it's claimed that the narrowing of his career path over the years was another factor, with one insider saying:

Ahead of their marriage, Manganiello was riding high from a popular run on HBO's True Blood on top of the two (at the time) Magic Mike films, and was forever attached to Deathstroke rumors regarding DC's live-action films. But Big Dick Richie's return didn't help save 2023's Magic Mike's Last Dance from meh reactions, and the actor's latest TV-starring gig — the sci-fi thriller series Moonhaven — was cancelled by AMC+ after the service had already renewed it for Season 2 several months prior.

Neither of those instances can be blamed on Manganiello, of course, but his filmography is also littered with projects heavily tied to role-playing games, such as Critial Role, the video game Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance, CelebriD&D and more. The actor's penchant for having celeb-infused game nights, combined with his alleged preference to stay around the house, was previously noted as being a cause of strife between him and Vergara, with the Modern Family vet being far more eager to go out on the town and on vacations regularly. 

Case in point: she was in the middle of an Italian vacation, complete with a snazzy blue swimsuit, when the divorce news went public, as seen in the post below.

Several rumors have centered on the idea that Manganiello's desire to have children, which clashed with Vergara's lack of interest, also played into their relationship breaking down. Family friends reportedly expect him to next aim for a younger partner who may be more willing to engage in child-rearing. 

On the flip side, another rumor circulating pointed to the sober actor taking issue with Sofia Vergara's non-sober living, but that rumor is reportedly all fluff according to Page Six. Those close to the couple claim that his sobriety and thoughts about substance abuse did not extend in a judgmental way when it comes to Vergara's social drinking.

For all that fans may believe that Hollywood celebs lead perfect and ever-happy lives,  all it usually takes is a hectic divorce situation to flip that outlook. Hopefully things remain totally positive and friendly for Joe Manganiello and Sofia Vergara, who recently announced they've split up after seven years of marriage, with the Magic Mike actor officially filing for divorce on July 19. The paperwork was filed with one of the more standard reasonings listed — irreconcilable differences — and now some of the alleged details behind those differences are making the rounds. 

Different Ideas About Having Children

According to TMZ, one of the underlying issues behind Manganiello and Vergara's split is the topic of children. It's said that he desires to be a father and have kids, while that's not something she wants to commit to. 

For what it’s worth, Sofia Vergara does already have a son, Manolo, who was born in 1991, when she was still married to her first husband, Joe Gonzalez, whom she divorced in 1993. Manganiello does not have any children from prior relationships. 

The fact that the former couple didn’t have kids together does make the divorce proceedings easier to deal with, since there aren’t any custody issues to parse through. But that presumably wouldn’t be much of a silver lining if that reasoning is indeed legit. 

Vergara And Manganiello Allegedly Lead Different Lives Now

Thankfully, the rumors and reports out there seem to be in agreement as far as Manganiello and Vergara still getting along and being cordial with one another. But US Weekly points out that they've more or less been on two different wavelengths for quite a while, and no longer have shared interests when it comes to leisure time. According to the outlet's source:

Anyone who has a particular taste for role-playing games may already be aware of Joe Manganiello's celebrity-friendly game nights centered around Dungeons & Dragons campaigns. The actor is way more into chilling at home with some D&D, which he's also worked with in several official capacities outside of playing it himself (including an attempt at a movie), than going out and about.

Meanwhile, Sofia Vergara is said to be much a much more social person who enjoys taking trips and hanging out with friends, as evidenced by her swimsuit pics from her Italian vacation. (Which she was on when the divorce news went public, so take from that what you will.) It sounds as if she was free to go off and do her thing, while he was content to hang out around the house, but that it caused them to drift apart more on a permanent basis.

It appears to be going smoothly and amicably, without much strife seemingly involved, even as Vergara was in the midst of an Italian vacation. She took to social media to show off how things are going in the final stretch, and stunned fans with a stellar blue bathing suit that I'm sure many would agree was a snazzier look than any of the picturesque scenery around her in Ravello. Her Modern Family co-star Julie Bowen would likely be in that same camp, judging by her sign of approval.

The day after her divorce news made the rounds, Vergara took to Instagram to prove to her followers that "yes, I'm drinking water in a nicer place with more plants than you are, and no one has an ice cube's chance in hell of looking better than me in this swimsuit." I'm not sure there was a hypothesis involved in the formation of that proof, but it'd be unscientific not to appreciate. 

The AGT mainstay earned a slew of compliments and hyper-thirsty comments, to be expected, and Vergara's Modern Family co-star offered up her own emoji-heavy hubba-hubba thoughts.

In the three shots shared in that post, Sofia Vergara is hydrating beneath the hot sun, with another post sharing how hot things were in the area. Is she only drinking water out there? The champagne bottle that she took a video of is nowhere around, so perhaps the bubbly went somewhere pleasant in between posts.

Although if that's the case, Sofia Vergara should possibly win some kind of award for being the least sweaty mess humanly possible. My forehead starts to mist up if someone says the word "sun" in a different room, so maybe I'm not the best point of comparison on that front. Hold on a sec; I need to put some tape over that fire emoji before I start burning up.

Anyway, speaking of fronts...wait, no, the other side. Vergara shared a video of herself walking across a beach chair as if it were part of an obstacle course sobriety test, and she more or less passed. But more than a few comments on the post below surmised that her reasoning wasn't so much to display her sense of balance, but to show off what the swimsuit looks like from behind.

Hopefully this vacation has helped Sofia Vergara during what is probably an emotional time. She and Joe Manganiello shared that they both agreed the split was the best way to move forward regarding their relationship, so it's likely this situaiton has been weighing on her mind for a while now. Still, having it all go public creates a whole other can of worms to deal with, so there are probably far worse places to have been for the actress. Such as going swimsuit shopping with yours truly. 

America's Got Talent judge Sofia Vergara and actor Joe Manganiello got married back in 2015, and seemed to be going strong as husband and wife for years. Now, however, the couple is headed for a legal and official split, as Vergara and Manganiello are getting a divorce after seven years of marriage. They confirmed the news themselves with a statement that suggests bitter feelings aren't a factor in the decision. 

In a joint statement to Page Six, the former Modern Family star and her husband shared the news along with a request of fans. They said: 

The news comes just a week after Sofia Vergara turned 51, and she has been celebrating her big day in Italy without Joe Manganiello. The news may not be altogether shocking for any fans who have been keeping track of the actress via social media, as she has posted many photos of her trip, none of which include her husband. She also doesn't seem to be wearing a wedding ring in photos. 

According to a source cited by Page Six, Manganiello's absence from her birthday trip became all but impossible to explain without confirming that their marriage was in trouble. The source, who has not been identified, told the outlet: 

The WGA writers strike brought plenty of productions for the large and small screen alike to a standstill, but it evidently wasn't until the SAG strike that work could no longer be used as an explanation for why Sofia Vergara's husband was absent from her birthday celebration. Joe Manganiello did wish her a happy birthday on Instagram, however, with message that quite literally translates to "Happy Birthday Sofia." Take a look: 

Vergara has not posted about Manganiello in some time. Another source told Page Six that the spouses had "been growing apart for a while now" and decided to take "some distance from each other to contemplate their future." At the time of writing, neither has made any public comments aside from their joint statement confirming the decision to divorce aend requesting privacy. 

They two did speak publicly about their marriage over the years, including Manganiello sharing what she thought of his blue mohawk from Justice League reshoots and Vergara opening up on America's Got Talent about how he proposed to her. 

Whether or not they share further details about their split remains to be seen. The news comes on the heels of reports that Ariana Grande and Dalton Gomez are headed for divorce and during the ongoing messy break between Kevin Costner and his wife. Here's hoping that whatever happens between Vergara and Manganiello moving forward is cleaner than Costner and his soon-to-be ex!

One of the greatest “What If?” of the DC Cinematic Universe will always be Ben Affleck’s solo Batman movie. According to the DC timeline, this film would have arrived at some point after Zack Snyder’s Justice League, and paid off on one end-credits scene included in that movie – where Joe Manganiello’s Deathstroke meets with Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor, and gained valuable information on Batman’s secret identity. The movie theoretically would have pit Affleck’s Caped Crusader against Slade Wilson, one of DC’s most lethal supervillains. But why did the Air director want to limit himself to one opponent? 

Zack Snyder recently screened his four-hour Snyder Cut of Justice League, followed by a Q-and-A that included Ben Affleck. And when explaining why he walked away from directing the solo Batman movie, Affleck also broke down the reason why he wanted to zero in on one opponent for his story, rather than some form of villainous team up. Several Batman movies in the past have combined threats from The Joker (Heath Ledger) and Two-Face (Aaron Eckhart), for example, but Affleck told the gathered crowd:

That just makes me more upset that Affleck and Joe Manganiello never got the chance to explore this dynamic. Because it likely would have been dynamite. Affleck has proven himself to be an incredible director. And he happily returned to his cape-and-cowl to film new Batman footage for the Snyder Cut, with Snyder even telling us why Batman had to forge an alliance with Jared Leto’s Joker in that Knightmare future.

But now that solo Batman movie lives in the realm of “what could have been,” because it’s highly unlikely that the SnyderVerse is going to be restored, Robert Pattinson currently is playing Batman for Matt Reeves, and someone else is going to be cast as Batman in the announced upcoming DC movie The Brave and the Bold. Recently, Jenna Ortega went viral, and not for her creepy and kooky dance from Wednesday this time, but for being one of the first people to publicly pronounce Rihanna’s name correctly at the 2023 Golden Globes. This would certainly not be the first time we learned that we have wrongfully assumed (or been confused by) how to pronounce our favorite celebrities’ names. Let’s take a look at some of those who most commonly fall victim to this sort of mistake in Hollywood, starting with the right response to the aforementioned pop star’s question, “What my name?”

Rihanna (ree-ann-uh)

As Jenna Ortega casually dropped in a Golden Globes clip that blew up on TikTok quickly after, fellow nominee Rihanna (for her song, “Lift Me Up,” from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever), is not pronounced “ree-AH-nuh,” but “ree-ann-uh.” 

Zendaya (zen-day-uh)

Another talented, single-named singer and actor who was nominated (and won) at that year’s Golden Globes for playing Rue on Euphoria is Zendaya, who — in a Snapchat video tweeted by Allure in 2016 — would inform anyone who may have called her “zen-DIE-uh” that it is actually pronounced like it is spelled.

Ariana Grande (ar-ee-ah-nuh gran-dee)

While this actor and pop star does actually pronounce her name the same as everyone else, Wicked cast member Ariana Grande revealed in an interview with Apple Music that she grew up using the pronunciation her grandfather did: “gran-dee.”

Brendan Fraser (bren-dan fray-zer)

Finally getting the recognition he deserves lately for his performance in The Whale is Oscar nominee Brendan Fraser, who is also finally being referred to by the correct pronunciation of his last name (“fray-zer,” which he pointed out to Adam Sandler in a one-on-one for Variety) instead of the way you would pronounce Kelsey Grammer’s title role from Frasier.

Charlize Theron (shar-leese there-uhn)

Academy Award winner (for Monster) and sought-after action star Charlize Theron let the world know in a 2016 interview that there are actually two different ways to say her name: the way she goes by (shar-leese there-uhn) or in the original South African dialect, (“throne,” like what a queen sits on).

Gal Gadot (gal gah-doht) 

Charlize Theron’s fellow Fast and Furious franchise star (and Wonder Woman in several DC movies) Gal Gadot has also had to inform the public (multiple times) that the “T” in the Israeli actor’s last name is not silent and the full name is pronounced much like it is spelled: “gal gah-doht.”

Hasan Minhaj (hah-sahn meen-hahj)

Former Daily Show correspondent and host of Netflix’s Patriot Act, Hasan Minhaj, had to inform Ellen Degeneres that the Indian-American comedian’s name is pronounced “hah-sahn MEEN-HAHJ,” instead of the commonly mistaken, “muh-nahj.”

Domhnall Gleeson (doh-nall glee-sen) 

Versatile Star Wars movies star Domhnall Gleeson left the world dumfounded by how to pronounce his Irish first name until he explained we should say “doh-nall” in a clip from EW’s YouTube channel.

Saoirse Ronan (sur-sha ro-nan)

An Irish actor whose first name is more notoriously mysterious (for both the spelling and pronunciation) is four-time Oscar nominee (for movies like Antonement and Lady Bird) Saoirse Ronan, who has assured us in multiple interviews — and in her SNL monologue — that it is “sur-sha.”

Zoe Saldaña (zo-ee sal-dahn-ya) 

Geek Goddess Zoe Saldaña (known for too many franchises to count) actually admitted to E! News that she initially introduced herself to the world as Zoe “Sal-DAN-uh” when, in reality, the accent mark is not to be ignored.

Raven-Symoné (ray-ven see-mon-ye)

Apparently, the accent mark in Raven-Symoné’s name is not to be ignored either, as the Disney Channel star made clear in a TikTok that it is not “sim-ohn,” but “see-mon-ye.”

Khloé Kardashian (clo-ay kar-dash-ee-yen)

It appears we have also been ignoring the accent mark in Khloé Kardashian’s name, and we have Andy Cohen to thank for letting us — and Jimmy Fallon — know that the social media mogul’s first name is not pronounced with a hard “E.”

Lindsay Lohan (lind-see low-en)

It appears that we have been mistakenly emphasizing the “HAN” in Mean Girls cast member Lindsay Lohan’s last name, as she took to TikTok to explain that it is really a much smoother, “low-en.”

Amanda Seyfried (uh-man-duh sigh-fred) 

Years ago, Lindsay Lohan’s Mean Girls co-star Amanda Seyfried claimed to Hollywood Streams that, despite her own sister going by the commonly mistaken “sigh-freed,” it is “sigh-fred,” which many others did not realize until Brad Pitt correctly announced her name at the 2021 Oscars, where her performance in Mank earned her a nod.

Joe Manganiello (jo manga-nello)

As former True Blood cast member Joe Manganiello demonstrated in an interview with Just Jared, it is much easier to pronounce his last name than many may have assumed: “manga-nello.”

Chrissy Teigen (kris-ee tye-gehn)

Model, actor, TV personality, and wife of John Legend, Chrissy Teigen, does not actually mind that people say her last name as “tee-gehn” instead of the official, Norwegian pronunciation, “tye-gehn,” and even told E! that they can continue calling her the former.

Ya know, I actually can relate to a lot of these celebrities with how often people get my own last name wrong. In fact, I would be willing the bet that the byline for this article had you dumbfounded already. But if there wasn't a stumper or five in this article I'd be very surprised. 

Regarding movie strippers, there’s no argument that Channing Tatum is considered the best of the best. His well-known pre-fame stripper days served as the inspiration for the Magic Mike franchise. With multiple stars appearing in exotic dance-centric movies, Tatum has some authority on the subject. The Magic Mike’s Last Dance star finally voiced his opinions on other movie strippers, claiming to be a better stripper than Hustlers’ Jennifer Lopez and one of his Magic Mike co-stars.

The Hollywood A-lister championed his stripper prowess while participating in a Vanity Fair’s Lie Detector episode. His pre-fame exotic dancer days were on display, as seen in the blockbuster stripper franchise. When questioned if he was a better stripper than his Magic Mike co-star Joe Manganiello, Tatum had no problem telling the publication he was a better dancer before complimenting Manganiello’s Greek god-like physique.

The previous Magic Mike films showcased the co-stars’ differing styles. Channing Tatum’s stripper background allowed him to perfect his techniques and moves before starring in the movies. On the other hand, Joe Manganiello came off as a guy with good seduction techniques and athleticism given his background as a three-sport athlete. As Tatum pointed out, they come from two different classes. Of course, dancing skills only played a part in the franchise’s appeal, as the first two films scored with both critics and audiences to tremendous box office success.  

Soon after, the conversation turned from Magic Mike to another stripper-themed film: Hustlers. Fans got to see Jennifer Lopez flaunt her stripping skills in the film (and at the Super Bowl). Despite both actors starting as background dancers, Tatum wasn’t deterred from claiming his stripping skills superior to J. Lo.

Even facing the iconic J. Lo isn’t enough for Channing Tatum to back down from his claims. Things soon evolved into a conversation over who would win in a strip-off. Tatum was stern in his claims by saying he would put his best foot forward if the Hollywood stars had to go head-to-head even if JLo outperformed him. He did mention his success might depend on the audience, but the The Lost City star still liked his chances.

Audiences will get a chance to see Channing Tatum flaunt his dancing skills once more when Magic Mike’s Last Dance arrives in theaters on February 10. This will be the actor’s last outing in the stripper-themed franchise as seen in the Last Dance trailer. Viewers might miss Mike Lane in his final farewell, but they won’t miss Tatum for long, with the thriller Pussy Island and the Apple TV+ movie Project Artemis on the horizon.

The DC Extended Universe has had a unique life in theaters, full of peaks and valleys. Justice League is perhaps the biggest example of this, with Zack Snyder finally releasing his cut of the movie years later. Now we can see how actor Joe Manganiello is still keeping the Deathstroke dream alive.

Joe Manganiello made his DC debut at the very end of Justice League’s theatrical cut, meeting Lex Luthor and teasing the formation of the Injustice League. While he’d eventually reprise his role for Snyder Cut reshoots, the True Blood alum has yet to have a major role as Deathstroke. But that hasn’t stopped him from keeping hope alive, recently sharing this on social media:

Well, this is sure to turn a few heads. Joe Manganiello recently shared this image and even made it his profile picture. So he’s definitely showing his interest in playing the Batman villain sometime in the future of the DCEU. With so many projects set in Gotham City, this doesn’t seem out of the question.

Joe Maganiello's time in the DCEU has definitely been a strange one, only due to his limited time on screen. Following Justice League’s theatrical release, he was expected to be the main villain in a Batman movie starring Ben Affleck. But that project ultimately fell through, and Manganiello had yet to have a starring role in the franchise. Still, his additional footage from the Snyder Cut definitely has fans interested in what he could bring to the role of Deathstroke.

This new image definitely has some fans galvanized, and they’re taking to the comments section to show their support for Joe Manganiello’s DC villain. There are (unsurprisingly) calls to Restore the Snyderverse, in the form of two Justice League sequels. Other comments including hashtags like #BringBackDeathstroke, and some classic fire emojis.

It seems like Zack Snyder’s Justice League was a massive success for HBO Max, with fans thrilled to finally see the titular director’s original vision for the blockbuster. And while campaigns to Restore the Snyderverse began, execs from Warner Bros. shut down those rumors. What’s more, Snyder seemingly hasn’t heard anything from the studios since its release, which makes potential sequels seem all the more unlikely.

But as previously mentioned, Gotham City has continued to be a major setting in the DCEU, which could allow the opportunity for a Deathstroke appearance. The city was seen in Birds of Prey, and will also be featured in The Flash and Batgirl. If any of these projects gets a sequel, perhaps Joe Manganiello will finally be able to get in on the action.

Although Joe Manganiello is the only actor to play Slade Wilson, a.k.a. Deathstroke, in a live-action movie, he hasn’t gotten a lot of screen time as the character. Regardless of which version of Justice League you’re watching, his role in the superhero team-up tale is basically a cameo, and plan to feature him as The Batman’s main antagonist obviously fell through when the project was turned into a reboot. Well, nine months after the release of Zack Snyder’s Justice League on HBO Max, Manganiello has delivered a blunt response about if we’ll see more of him as Deathstroke.

There was a time when a Joe Manganiello-led Deathstroke movie was in development for the DC Extended Universe, and because of his slightly-expanded role in Zack Snyder’s Justice League, fans suggested that the project be reworked into an HBO Max exclusive offering. However, when ComingSoon asked Manganiello if he was optimistic about getting to portray Deathstroke more in-depth down the line, the actor responded:

Well that’s a shame; as Joe Manganiello sees it, it’s unlikely he’ll ever reprise Deathstroke. That’s a shame, because although he looked badass as the one-eyed mercenary, we never actually got to see the character in action. At least actors like Manu Bennett and Esai Morales were able to show why Deathstroke is such a formidable villain during their respective runs on Arrow and Titans.

Still, given how the DCEU continues to move away from the vision filmmaker Zack Snyder built in Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and his version of Justice League, this isn’t terribly surprising. Still, I doubt I’m alone in having hoped that like with Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa’s Aquaman and Ezra Miller’s Flash, the DC Films division would have found a way to keep Joe Manganiello around as Deathstroke. Evidently though, no one’s contacted him about playing the role again, so Manganiello’s made peace with the fact that his time as the character is likely done.

Following the main events of Justice League, Joe Manganiello’s Deathstroke meets Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor aboard the latter’s yacht after he escapes from Arkham Asylum. In the theatrical cut, Luthor tries to recruit Slade Wilson into his own league to combat the Justice League, while in Zack Snyder’s version, Luthor reveals to Slade that Bruce Wayne is Batman. Had Ben Affleck’s version of The Batman moved forward, we would have learned about why Slade had beef with the Dark Knight and seen him slowly dismantle the superhero’s life. Zack Snyder’s Justice League also showed Deathstroke as one of Batman’s allies in the Knightmare future.

When the Deathstroke movie was initially conceived, the plan was for The Raid’s Gareth Evans to direct it. However, by 2020, Evans said he was no longer involved with the project, and Joe Manganiello revealed in March that there have been around “seven different Deathstroke projects” that have been cancelled. If news comes in about DC and Warner Bros deciding to revive the Deathstroke movie, whether it’s with Joe Manganiello or a different actor, we here at CinemaBlend will let you know.

It’s no secret that comic book movies are everywhere, with various studios forming their own cinematic universes. But there was a time when these blockbusters were more of a risk, like with Sam Raimi’s 2002 Spider-Man movie. Actor Joe Manganiello played Flash Thompson in that beloved flick, and recently revealed his favorite part about Tom Holland’s run as Peter Parker.

Prior to his Magic Mike and True Blood fame, Joe Manganiello had a small but iconic role in the original Spider-Man movie. Since then he’s made his way to DC to play Deathstroke, but he’s stayed in touch with the web slinger’s current adventures on the big screen with Tom Holland. Manganiello praised the work done in the current trilogy, saying:

He’s got a point. Rather than being just a friendly, neighborhood Spider-Man, Tom Holland’s version of the character is living in a world full of superheroes and villains. As such, that “great responsibility” Peter’s Uncle Ben so often talks about takes on another meaning. And the upcoming sequel No Way Home will definitely highlight the weight of being a hero-- especially with Peter Parker’s identity revealed to the public.

Joe Manganiello’s comments to Variety make some solid points about how the different film adaptations of Spider-Man have differed. Tom Holland is the third actor to play Peter on the big screen, preceded by Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. Although he’s the only one who has crossed over with other heroes like Iron Man and Doctor Strange.

Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy was the first of its kind, although Joe Manganiello unfortunately didn’t appear in the sequels. But the 2002 original marked his first big movie gig, and he made a strong impression as Flash Thompson. Although some casual fans might do a double take since Manganiello is missing his signature beard. Check out his big scene below.

What a classic. As his comments mention, Joe Manganiello continues to have a connection to the current Spider-Man trilogy. Namely because he works often with director Jon Watts, who has helmed all three installments including No Way Home. And with Sam Raimi also joining the MCU with Doctor Strange 2, it all comes full circle.

With Spider-Man: No Way Home so close to theaters, the marketing campaign has definitely kicked up. A number of villains from the previous two franchises will be included, which further connects the current trilogy to Sam Raimi’s original. We’ll just have to wait to see how antagonists like Green Goblin and Doc Ock ultimately factor into the story. Plus there are those ongoing rumors about Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield possibly appearing.

Many of us have a hankering for celebrity news, and when you combine those people with ones who love a good bit of romance, you end up with a lot of folks who go crazy for any and all details they can get about the relationships of famous folk. This is especially true when it comes to stories about celebrity proposals (which can often be rather elaborate affairs), and now America's Got Talent judge Sofia Vergara has shared the beautiful story behind husband Joe Manganiello's proposal for the first time.

As you might imagine, this proposal reveal didn't just come out of nowhere. Sofia Vergara and her fellow America's Got Talent judges are currently at the beginning stages of Season 16 for the hit talent competition, and watching the auditions for an incredible number of acts. Last night, this included a performance (posted to the show's YouTube page) from psychic Peter Antoniou, and after he correctly guessed where host Terry Crews had hidden a small object, he tasked himself with locating Sofia Vergara's "lost" wedding ring.

Antoniou asked Vergara to think about a detail of the proposal from Joe Manganiello (which happened on Christmas in 2014, after the couple had been together for six months) that's never been publicized as he looked for the ring among a dizzying number of identical white ring boxes in the AGT green room. After he found Vergara's sparkler and presented it to her, Antoniou noted that a detail about the proposal was still very strong in her mind: the fact that after Manganiello got down on one knee, she looked up and there was a rainbow. Vergara eventually explained:

Awww! Aren't you so super glad you're reading this story? Sometimes there are truly perfect moments in this insane world we all inhabit, and while we don't all get to witness them first hand, it's always a joy when something like this is passed along to us. Even though it pretty much always feels special whenever one manages to lay their eyes on a rainbow, I think we can all imagine that seeing one right after Joe Manganiello proposed to Sofia Vergara probably made the already sweet moment seem as though it was really meant to be.

When everyone went back to the auditorium to hand down their final opinions on Peter Antoniou's act, Sofia Vergara continued to note her astonishment that he was able to find her ring and had true insider info about her engagement story, and said:

It's a good thing that Sofia Vergara didn't appear to be at all annoyed that Peter Antoniou spilled one of her proposal secrets to everyone. But, seeing as how she and Joe Manganiello have been married since late November 2015, and seem to be quite happy, the reveal probably didn't feel like a big deal to her. Antoniou, by the way, ended up getting a yes from all four judges and was sent through to the next round.
