Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce reportedly invited 1,000 guests to Madison Square Garden to witness the celebrity wedding of the year, and days later we’re still talking about who was (and, perhaps more interestingly, who was not) on that list. Swifties were shook over Karlie Kloss’ golden presence, as the two had a falling out years ago that some fans insist was actually a breakup, but that wasn’t the only blast from the bride’s past in attendance — one A-lister brought another of Matty Healy’s ex-girlfriends.

Liam Hemsworth was in the Garden to see Adam Sandler officiate Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s ceremony, and naturally he brought along his fiancée, Gabriella Brooks, who posted what looked like pre-wedding pics of her and the Hunger Games star on Instagram. Fans were quick to pick up on Brooks’ connection to Swift, as both used to date The 1975 frontman Matty Healy.

Gabriella Brooks reportedly dated Matty Healy from 2015 to 2019 — four years before Taylor Swift’s short-lived romance with him in 2023 that followed her breakup with Joe Alwyn. Swift and Healy may not have been an official item for very long, but the whirlwind romance made quite an impact, with much of The Tortured Poets Department believed to be about Healy.

In the years since, Taylor Swift has apparently gotten close to Gabriella Brooks, who was first linked to Liam Hemsworth in 2019 after her own Matty Healy breakup. Brooks and Hemsworth even attended one of the Eras Tour’s London shows in 2024, per Parade, as she was seen dancing alongside Travis Kelce in the VIP tent.

Surprisingly the connections to Taylor Swift’s ex-boyfriends don’t end there. Sophie Turner was also reportedly on the guest list, and despite both women having dated Joe Jonas, they have a long-established friendship. In fact, when Turner and the Jonas Brother divorced, Swift even let Turner and her daughters stay at her New York apartment — inspiring the actress to call Swift “an absolute hero.”

Then there’s Zoë Kravitz, who is engaged to Harry Styles — another of Taylor Swift’s ex-boyfriends (and song muses). Swift dated the One Direction singer about a million years ago (aka 2012) and has been friends with The Batman actress for over a decade. There’s definitely no bad blood there, and EW reports that Styles was even invited to join his fiancée at the MSG nuptials but was unable to because he’s on tour.

In fact, Harry Styles reportedly surprised fans at his Wembley Stadium concert on Friday by singing “Two Ghosts” — a song widely considered to have been inspired by his and Taylor Swift’s breakup.

A lot has been said (and sung about) over the years regarding Taylor Swift’s dating history, so it’s kind of fun and very interesting to see so many connections to past boyfriends as she settles down with Travis Kelce. The Yellowstone franchise has continued with not one but two shows on the 2026 TV schedule, including Marshals. The CBS drama starring Luke Grimes premiered earlier this year and is coming back for a second season. Unfortunately, the show is without Kayce's on-screen better half, Monica, who was killed off-screen, as revealed in the Marshals series premiere. Luckily, we finally know what Kelsey Asbille, the actress who played her, is doing next, and I’ll be seated for it.

Asbille has landed a role in the Amazon MGM action film The Kellys, according to Deadline. She is starring opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger and Liam Hemsworth, but character details are being kept under wraps. This will mark one of her first Yellowstone follow-ups after starring in the Paramount Network drama as Monica Dutton for all five seasons. The logline for The Kellys, directed by Brad Peyton from a script written with Tze Chun, reads:

Even though it’s unknown who exactly Asbille will be portraying, it’s possible she’ll be Molly or one of the family members who has to save her. This film sounds pretty intense, but I love action movies, and just with the logline, I’m pretty intrigued. As of now, it’s unknown when the project will be released, but the wait will surely be worth it, especially since Asbille will be in it.

Meanwhile, when Marshals was announced, people had hoped that Asbille would be joining her on-screen husband, as well as their on-screen son played by Brecken Merrill. So, it was a disappointment when it was confirmed she would not be part of it.

Any hope of Asbille appearing was crushed in the series premiere, when it was implied that Monica died from cancer, allegedly caused by tainted reservation land and water. It’s not like they didn’t want Monica alive and breathing in the spinoff, but co-creator and showrunner Spencer Hudnut previously revealed that it was simply due to scheduling.

But now Asbille is open to doing other projects, including The Kellys, and it will be exciting to see her in a new role, whatever role that is. She’s done a wide range of projects over the years, spanning from One Tree Hill on The WB/The CW, Pair of Kings on Disney XD, MTV’s Teen Wolf, to Fargo and many more. And she doesn’t seem to be slowing down. She has two other projects in the works, so there will be much more to come.

For those who don’t want to wait to see Asbille in The Kellys, all five seasons of Yellowstone are streaming with a Peacock subscription. And while Monica is dead in Marshals, her impact is very clear on her husband, Kayce, and that can be streamed with a Paramount+ subscription. Season 2 of Marshals will premiere later this year on CBS.

Hollywood has more than a few sets of celebrity siblings, and many of them have actually acted alongside each other. The three Hemsworth brothers – Luke, Chris and Liam – have worked with each other on rare occasions. However, all three of the Aussie siblings have yet to be in the same movie, which is honestly a bit surprising. The Hemsworths (who are all quite tall and have done their share of action work) would theoretically make great co-stars. And, while I’ve wanted to see them act together, I understand the one obstacle in the way.

Luke Hemsworth is currently promoting his 2026 movie schedule entry, Beast, which is set to hit theaters in a matter of weeks. During a recent interview, the Gunner star revealed that he is indeed open to the idea of starring in a movie with both Chris and Liam. With that, Luke also shared a little bit of insight into whether he and his younger brothers have actually talked about it and what it would take for it to happen:

Thus far, both Luke and Chris Hemsworth have appeared in the two most recent Thor films, while Liam and Luke starred in Land of Bad. I can’t imagine it would be that difficult to come up with an idea for the Hemsworths. Still, as Luke also explained to E! News, that could be challenging due to one of his brothers:

That’s definitely a good point, considering that Chris Hemsworth remains one of the busiest stars in Hollywood. Earlier this year, Hemsworth marked the release of a crime thriller, Crime 101, which was well received by critics upon its release in February. The A-lister also has another movie coming out in December, and it’s a movie by the name of Avengers: Doomsday, in which he’ll reprise his role as Thor. Hemsworth has also teased that he has other projects lined up in which he’ll play the God of Thunder after Doomsday. So, all in all, the Spiderhead alum could be tied up for a while.

At the same time, Liam Hemsworth also has his share of professional obligations. The biggest gig Hemsworth has right now is his leading role on Netflix’s The Witcher, on which he plays Geralt (since replacing Henry Cavill in the role). While that show will be ending with its fifth season, it’s surely possible that the youngest Hemsworth brother could book something else that could delay any kind of collaboration with his two siblings.

Still, I’d be surprised if a studio didn’t find some kind of way to get all three of the Hemsworths on screen together. Considering their respective bodies of work, I’d love to see all of them star in some kind of buddy action flick. However, I also wouldn’t mind seeing them together in a classic family-centric comedy, and one set in Australia could be particularly fun. Here’s hoping the three brothers unite on the big screen at some point in the near future.

The Witcher cast faced a serious shakeup ahead of Season 4, after Henry Cavill left and Liam Hemsworth took over the role of Geralt. While there has been a lot of noise surrounding this switch, on set, things were very merry. That became very clear too as Joey Batey, who plays Jaskier, explained the sweet way the cast welcomed The Hunger Games actor.

I think it’s fitting that the way Hemsworth was welcomed to The Witcher was explained by Joey Batey, who plays a bard and Geralt’s closest friend. While chatting about The Witcher Season 4 and the major cast shift, the actor made it clear that their new co-star was welcomed with open arms and a trip to the pub. He told SFX Magazine on CinemaBlend:

Well, that’s so sweet, and it goes right along with Batey’s feelings about Hemsworth taking over the role. During an interview with CinemaBlend, he told us that his new co-star “looked absolutely fantastic,” and brought an “animalistic nature” to his fights and a “wryness” to the way he spoke that worked really well. That's pretty high praise!

To that point, in the story for SFX Magazine on CinemaBlend, Batey went on to compliment how The Last Song actor took ownership of the iconic character. After he was welcomed, it seemed like he fit into the Witcher world seamlessly, as the Jaskier actor explained:

Liam Hemsworth did say he felt like a kid on the first day of school when he put on the Geralt costume for the first time. However, his co-stars clearly explained that he was a natural when it came to playing The White Wolf.

It also simply sounds like he was a great guy to be around. Batey said that he and Hemsworth would really get each other laughing on set, and that “mischievous” behavior he described sounds delightful:

All around, I’m so here for how The Witcher cast welcomed Liam Hemsworth into the fold. Taking over the role of Geralt is no small task. He literally stepped into the shoes of the beloved character, and a lot of pressure comes with that. So, to have a group of people who were so excited to welcome and work with him must have meant the world.

The Thor actor's show in question is National Geographic's Limitless: Live Better Now, available streaming with a Disney+ subscription. It's the spiritual successor to Limitless with Chris Hemsworth, which released in 2022 and was billed as following the actor as he "attempts six epic challenges in his search for longevity." The Live Better Now incarnation is described on Disney+ as Hemsworth taking on "epic challenges to reveal ways we can live better today."

Based on Liam Hemsworth's comments, one of those ways to live better for his brother was to play the drums passably enough for Ed Sheeran, even if his brotherly support couldn't stop him from wondering what Chris was thinking. Fortunately, the Hunger Games vet had just enough time to make the trip from London to see his brother's debut as Ed Sheeran's drummer, as he recounted:

All's fair in love and brotherhood, and the duo spent some time together over Halloween. Plus, Liam Hemsworth undoubtedly knows a thing or two about stress when it comes to making television shows, with plenty of pressure on him as the new star of The Witcher replacing Henry Cavill. That's just not quite the same as making a drumming debut in front of presumably tens of thousands of live fans.

Liam Hemsworth doesn't seem tempted to follow in his older brother's footsteps of learning an instrument and then immediately taking the stage alongside Ed Sheeran. That said, even though his first season of The Witcher only premiered on Netflix in late October, his time wearing Geralt of Rivia's costume may already be over. The fifth and final season of The Witcher began to wrap filming earlier in the fall.

As for Chris Hemsworth, while he's likely still best known for his work as Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Limitless: Live Better Now isn't his first or only project for National Geographic and Disney+. Liam Hemsworth’s fame may have blown up, thanks to the Hunger Games movies, but his star power is continuing to skyrocket now that he's replaced Henry Cavill on The Witcher. With that role, of course, comes a bevy of press obligations, and Hemsworth has been on a massive tour as of late. Despite the Aussie actor’s crazy busy schedule for the 2025 Netflix release, though, Hemsworth still took the time to visit his older brother, Chris, over Halloween weekend.

So far, the Last Song actor’s massively packed schedule for The Witcher press has meant attending the London premiere of the show's fourth season on October 23rd. He's also made plenty of talk show appearances on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, The Kelly Clarkson Show, Live with Kelly and Mark and more. He even spoke to CinemaBlend about what it felt like wearing his Geralt costume for the first time. To say the life of an actor is a busy one would be understatement.

However, Daily Mail reports that Liam Hemsworth took time away from his hectic schedule to see his big brother, Chris, for Halloween weekend in Byron Bay. Per the outlet, during a chill backyard gathering, the Hemsworth brothers were seen chatting it up and drinks in hand. The two seemed to be enjoying each other’s company alone, as the Thor actor’s wife and kids had Halloween plans of their own for trick-or-treating. Considering Chris and Liam were enjoying the Australian sun with their pals, it’s no wonder they’re all smiles.

According to the publication, Chris and Liam Hemsworth really enjoy their time in their hometown. Chris has made a permanent home there with his wife and kids, as they moved there in 2015. He and Liam have since been spotted surfing, training or catching up with friends in The Land Down Under. The brotherly pair have also had some wild family adventures, like a Byron Bay camping trip and egging each other on while surfing the dunes. Talk about living it up!

Of course, there can't be all play without some work, and the Hemsworths know all about that. For Liam, there was some “noise” about him signed up for The Witcher Season 4, but that hasn’t stopped him from filling those big shoes (and wearing a long white wig) for his new role as Geralt. There’s no ifs, ands or buts about it, Geralt of Rivia’s look is iconic and very distinct. So, as Liam Hemsworth took over The Witcher role for Season 4, I was curious what it felt like for him to put that costume on for the first time, and I wondered how the cast reacted to him in it as well. So, I asked Hemsworth and his co-star, Anya Chalotra, about it, and they made a comparison that is just as funny as it is logical.

Ahead of The Witcher’s Season 4 premiere on Netflix’s 2025 schedule, I had the chance to interview Hemsworth, Anya Chalotra, who plays Yennefer, and Ciri actress Freya Allan together. I asked them all about the fact that there was a new Geralt actor this season, and when I specifically posed a question to the Yennefer actress about seeing Hemsworth in costume for the first time, she said:

So, the three leads of The Witcher got to be together for this monumental moment, which was fun. It turns out it was funny too. That became clear as Liam Hemsworth cut in to explain that he kind of felt like a kid on the first day of school when he rolled up wearing that white wig and Geralt’s signature black look. He said:

I have to say, he pulls the fit (and the wig) off nicely, and overall, his castmates were easily able to work with him as Geralt after Henry Cavill left. However, The Hunger Games actor wasn’t the only one feeling like he was the new kid on the block. Chalotra, who has been playing Yen for four seasons, also felt that energy, too, as she explained:

She went on to say that while the whole situation was quite “surreal,” it also felt “natural.” Now, you can watch Hemsworth’s take on Geralt with a Netflix subscription, and, at least to me, it seems like he really did fit right into this world naturally.

Overall, it makes sense why putting on the costume for the first time felt like a big first day of school. It was a big first, and there was a lot of noise surrounding Hemsworth’s casting and Cavill’s exit. Plus, no matter how you shake it, it’s hard to replace a lead character after they’ve been played by someone for so long. Then, add in the lore and fandom that comes with The Witcher, as well as the incredibly distinct look Geralt has, and you have a recipe for pressure.

However, I love that they handled it all with laughs and a fun interaction.

Now, we can all see Liam Hemsworth in Geralt’s get-up too, because Season 4 of The Witcher is out now on Netflix, and Season 5 is on the way.

It won’t be long at all now before those with a Netflix subscription who are fantasy fans will be able to see The Witcher Season 4 as the series officially enters a new era. The fourth set of episodes are the first with new Geralt lead Liam Hemsworth in the role, and expectations are pretty high after the actor took over for previous star Henry Cavill. Let’s not forget that the show’s other stars had to adjust to the change, as well, and the cast was very candid about the switch.

What Some Of The Witcher Cast Said About Liam Hemsworth Taking Over For Henry Cavill In Season 4

The 2025 TV schedule is about to feature way more sword fighting, as we are now mere hours away from Liam Hemsworth’s first season of The Witcher. That cast shakeup (which saw former lead Henry Cavill announce both his departure and successor in a move that seriously pissed off fans) has led to a lot of not-so-great feelings from fans as the show proceeds, but how does the cast feel?

With stars like Freya Allan defending Hemsworth, it appeared that his co-stars were more willing to give him a shot than many of the fans (who seemed to abandon the show even in Cavill’s last season). When speaking to CinemaBlend’s Riley Utley recently, Jaskier actor Joey Batey was asked what it was like to see Hemsworth walk on set in full Geralt mode for the first time, and he said:

After word about The Hunger Games star’s new gig came out, we were able to get a look at some of the behind-the-scenes work he was doing to fill out his predecessor’s made-for-a-ripped-body armor. As Batey noted, he also voiced his character in The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep opposite Witcher video game actor Doug Cockle as Geralt, so having someone else portray the character wasn’t too much of a shock to his system.

Laurence Fishburne is also in his first season as a Witcher star this year, and his part as Regis will see him spending a lot of quality time with Geralt. He was asked about filming with Hemsworth and noted:

It seems that fans can count on Fishburne’s Regis being around for the fifth and final season of the action-packed fantasy, as well, seeing as how he mentioned that he basically worked with the Lonely Planet actor for two years (filming on Season 5 wrapped in September 2025). The Matrix star bonded with Hemsworth over their commitment to giving fans “something that the audience will embrace,” and he also opened up about how that desire impacted how he prepared for his part of Regis:

If this isn’t the best way to deal with filming under a bit of a cloud caused by an unhappy fandom, I don’t know what is. We can all see the result of their effort when The Witcher returns to Netflix on October 30.

Star Wars: Visions, Volume 3 - October 29 (Disney+)

There are a lot of opinions about how the Star Wars franchise has fared under Disney but one of the unique and special creations we have seen in that time has been Star Wars: Visions. The series hands over the elements of the franchise to creators in Japanese anime to create original short films that put a visual and cultural twist on the story. The third batch of Visions shorts arrives this week as part of your Disney+ subscription.

Down Cemetery Road - October 29 (Apple TV+)

A major new streaming series release comes from your Apple TV+ subscription this week. Down Cemetery Road stars Emma Thompson as a private investigator hired after a small town suffers an explosion and the disappearance of a young girl on the same night. It looks dramatic, but also with a dose of humor that could make it quite a fun watch.

Disney Twisted Wonderland: The Animation - October 29 (Disney+)

In the second case of Disney being given an anime twist this week comes Disney Twisted Wonderland. In one of the stranger roads to Disney+, the series is based on a popular mobile game, and takes a little inspiration from Harry Potter is a story that sees the main character drawn into the world of Night Raven College, a boarding school with dormitories based on Disney Villains.

The Witcher, Season 4 - October 30 (Netflix)

The Witcher remained one of the most popular shows to watch with a Netflix subscription for three seasons, but the long-awaited new season will change things up in a big way with Liam Hemsworth taking over the lead role of Geralt of Rivia from Henry Cavill. Fans are not likely to go easy on the new actor, but if the show is good enough, it’s difficult to imagine people will be disappointed for long.

Jurassic World: Rebirth - October 30 (Peacock)

A lot of fans were surprised when we got the fourth film in the Jurassic World franchise so quickly, but based on its box office it may be shouldn't have been that surprising. If you missed the film in theaters you’ll need a Peacock subscription to see it this week. Jurassic World: Rebirth showed that even seven total movies in, the dinosaur franchise is still incredibly popular. Scarlett Johansson starred in this newest reboot of the series that already has a sequel rumored to be in development.

November is going to be a solid month for streaming content. Music fans will see an updated Beatles Anthology coming to Disney+. Guillermo del Toro’s highly anticipated Frankenstein will make its streaming debut. The first Christmas movies of the season will also arrive.

Soon, after over a two-year wait, fans who are eager to step back into the world of Geralt, Ciri, and Yennefer will be able to, when The Witcher Season 4 comes to the 2025 TV schedule. Those with a Netflix subscription were shocked and even angered in late 2022 when star Henry Cavill departed and handed the reins over to Liam Hemsworth, who has largely remained quiet on what it’s been like to take over the role. With the new season on the horizon, though, he's opened up about the “noise” that came after he signed up to portray Geralt, but I really don’t know if Season 4 is going to help that issue or not.

What Did Liam Hemsworth Say About Fan Response To Him Taking Over The Witcher From Henry Cavill?

Whether you’re a fan of The Witcher video games or books who’s watched the once incredibly popular fantasy series or not, you likely remember what happened when the star of Seasons 1-3, Henry Cavill, announced he was leaving. There had already been many rumors about the Superman actor not being happy with the creative direction of the drama, and fans who loved his portrayal of the White Wolf were none too pleased (yes, that’s putting it in extremely mild terms) that he’d decided to leave the show.

As we look forward to the October 30 premiere of the fourth season (the first of two with the new star which will round out the series), Liam Hemsworth spoke to Entertainment Weekly about taking over as Geralt and noted that his announcement as the new lead was a bit of a distracting time. The Hunger Games star said:

I think calling the response to his casting “noise” is probably fair, seeing as how while fans were absolutely pissed off about the casting change, they didn’t seem to hold it against Hemsworth or his predecessor, but the showrunner and writers who’d been crafting the show. They were seen as making creative choices that tinkered too much with the story set forth in Andrzej Sapkowski’s books, which made it hard for Cavill (a loud and devoted member of the tale’s fanbase) to soldier on.

In fact, fans have even come to the Expendables 2 star’s defense when it comes to his casting. When 2023 promos for the third season proudly declared, “Yes, he’s still Geralt in Season 3” (meaning Cavill) many online were pissed that the show appeared to actively throw Hemsworth “under a bus.” So, even though co-star Freya Allan has noted that their “fanbase can be attacky,” that mostly hasn’t been the case with Hemsworth specifically…so far.

Here’s Why I Don’t Know If The Witcher Season 4 Premiere Will Help The ‘Noise’ Or Hurt

Look, I’m a fan of The Witcher who didn’t previously have any attachment to the source material. I never read the books or played the video games, so I was free to watch the series without any real expectations of anything other than being entertained. I do understand, however, that it’s really hard to not have lots of expectations when an IP you love is adapted into another form, and I’ve also had some issues with what I saw on screen, whether those problems crossed over with long-time fans’ thoughts or not.

Here’s the thing; right now talk of The Witcher is pretty flat, and it has been since Season 3 wrapped a little over two years ago. For the most part people got their anger out right after news of the Cavillworth switch, they peeped some of the third season and slowly bounced away more and more as those episodes rolled on. Fans who’ve decided that they are done with the show are likely committed to that, so they don’t feel much need to discuss it anymore. Hence, the “noise” and “distraction” has died way down.

But, as I see it, one of two things will happen when Season 4 hits Netflix: either negative talk of the series will ramp up again (let’s be real, folks like to pile on) or word of mouth will stay at basically the level it is now because hardly anyone will give the new Geralt a shot. Either way, that’s not good for the show, as news about it will be negative.

Obviously, it’s not impossible that people will check it out and actually have mostly positive thoughts about what they see, but with Season 5 already being set as the last one, I think those who are still quietly seething about the leading man swap will have even fewer reasons to give the series a shot, meaning that a once very strong performer for the streamer could die a cold, lonely death when it all comes to an end in 2026.

In the music video of the popular single, you see The Last Song actress wearing a vintage, gold lamé Saint Laurent gown that looks similar to Jennifer Lawrence’s gold dress that she wore at the premiere of The Hunger Games, where she posed with her co-star and Cyrus’ ex, Liam Hemsworth. Considering all that, a fan asked if the Hannah Montana star was referencing the Oscar winner with that similar-looking dress in her music video. Here was her answer to that question, via @MileyEditon’s video:

One of the popular rumors that surfaced about Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus’s on-and-off relationship was the Lonely Planet actor cheating on the “Wrecking Ball” singer 14 times, via Glamour, including with Jennifer Lawrence. During an appearance on Watch What Happens with Andy Cohen (via E! News), the Winter’s Bone actress addressed the rumors, saying that they're "not true," she and Hemsworth only kissed once years after his breakup with Cyrus.

A 2019 tweet from the Black Mirror actress said she refused to say her marriage to Liam Hemsworth ended due to cheating and still has a deep respect for her ex-husband. Miley Cyrus said the “conflict” in their marriage came from fights and drama she didn’t want to come home to.

Liam Hemsworth is known for Gale in The Hunger Games movies, who’s skilled in combat to defend Panem from The Capitol. Luke Hemsworth may be more of a grounded character actor, but he’s brought his own brand of energy in projects like Westworld and even played a dramatized version of the God of Thunder in Thor: Ragnarok. Between the popular Witcher video game series and the The Witcher TV series, available with a Netflix subscription, the original novels by author Andrzej Sapkowski are more popular than ever. The newest book, a prequel to the series, was recently published in Polish, and with it comes confirmation of a major fan question. Just how old is Geralt of Rivia?

The newest Witcher book confirms the year that Geralt of Rivia was born, which, would make him about 38 years old when he first meets Yennifer of Vengerberg. Of course the thing that really has fans blown away is that by this date, Yennifer herself was quite a bit older when the two first met.

The Age Gap Between Geralt and Yennifer Is Bigger Than Most Fans Guessed, And In The Wrong Direction

The Witcher stories take place over decades, but considering that Geralt of Rivia is a mutant Witcher and Yennifer of Vengerberg is a wizard, it’s essentially impossible to gauge either of their ages based solely on how they look. It turns out that when Geralt and Yennifer first met, Geralt was 38, and Yennifer was twice that age, as she’s 38 years older than he is.

While it seems all the Witcher fans on Reddit had different estimations for just how old the various characters were, many seemed to guess that, if anything Geralt was a lot older than he actually is. The fact that Yennifer is so much older than Geralt, as a lot of fans making jokes about the Witcher and older women.

Some fans thought Geralt was a lot older than he apparently is. Others at least assumed that Yennifer wasn't quite as old as she is. In the books it's well established that wizards can halt their aging, so it's impossible to guess how old one actually is.

The Netflix Series Flipped The Ages

Since The original novels had not previously set a date for Geralt’s birth, the various adaptations of the work had to make their own determinations. As a result, the Netflix series inverted the chronology almost exactly, as Geralt is 32 years older than Yennifer in the series. The popular video game series essentially has them the same age, with Geralt just a year older than Yenn.

Of course, the ages aren't the only difference between the source material and the series. The Netflix Witcher has been criticized previously for the way it differs from the books.

Things will get even more confusing when The Witcher Season 4 debuts next year. Liam Hemsworth who is taking on the role of Geralt, is seven years younger than Henry Cavill, who played the role for the show’s first three years.

The Witcher, which is arguably one of the best shows on Netflix, is still going strong and set to usher in a new season at some point. For a while now, fans have known that a fourth season of Witcher is on the way and that Liam Hemsworth is replacing Henry Cavill in the role of lead protagonist Geralt. Nevertheless, production details have been relatively scarce. However, a social media post from one of the show’s main cast members seems to confirm that filming has wrapped, so bring on Hemsworth!

Freya Allen, who’s played the key role of Ciri since the action/drama series’ first season, recently shared a sweet post to Instagram. The Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes star shared several pieces of artwork, which are renderings of characters like Mistle and Giselher. In addition to tagging the actors who play those specific roles, Freya Allen appeared to signify the end of production by sharing a message of gratitude for a “special” season. It would certainly seem that production on the season has come to an end, and I can’t think of a sweeter way for the actress to have marked the occasion. It goes without saying that making the show, which is adapted from Andrzej Sapkowski’s book series, is no small task. So I would imagine that it helps to have a firm group of collaborators by your side while going through the process. So kudos to the Gunpowder Milkshake alum for highlighting her co-stars while marking the end of the season.

The starlet’s recent post arrived after Liam Hemsworth provided an update on the status of production. While promoting his 2024 movie release, Netflix’s Lonely Planet, earlier in the month, the Australian actor revealed to ET that he only had three weeks left of filming in the UK. Hemsworth noted that he’s “really excited” about the new season and said that the shoot has been “fun” Like Freya Allen, he also shared some kind words for the cast and crew.

Henry Cavill’s departure from the role of Geralt of Rivia was likely surprising to devoted viewers, and Liam Hemsworth’s casting has been met with mixed reactions. Nevertheless, the Hunger Games alum has shown that he’s gone all in for the part, as he’s gotten absolutely ripped for the role. (Which is saying a lot, since he’s known for staying in shape in general.) The first official look at Hemsworth as the character dropped this past May, and he definitely looks the part. Though some may miss seeing Cavill in Seasons 4 and 5, which will close out the show, it’ll be intriguing to see what Hemsworth brings to the role.

As for when we’ll actually be able to see the Land of Bad actor don the armor and sword, that remains to be seen. A release window has yet to be announced but, with filming now having wrapped, one would hope that Season 4 might be with us near the end of 2025, at the earliest. Time will tell but, at the very least, it’s great that principal photography is seemingly at an end.

Not too long before the one-year anniversary of Season 3, The Witcher is getting fans ready for the official switch of actors playing Geralt of Rivia. Henry Cavill had the starring role for the first three seasons, but will be replaced for Season 4 as well as the fifth and final season. A first look at Liam Hemsworth as Geralt has finally been revealed, and fans... well, the commentary from fans is pretty brutal.

Liam Hemsworth replacing Henry Cavill as Geralt was one of the first big The Witcher Season 4 details that we had, with the announcement happening all the way back in late 2022. While Cavill stuck around for the third season, Season 4 will start the Hemsworth era.

And the new first look at Hemworth on The Witcher shows what his jacked real-life physique looks like while dressed in the Geralt costume. Personally, I think he looks as close to Cavill as could be realistically hoped for, but a lot of other fans are less satisfied. First, check out the video for yourself:

All in all, it's a pretty standard clip of what fans have come to expect from The Witcher after three seasons. There's Geralt looking broody, his horse by his side, and the sounds of monsters all around them. It’s been a long, somewhat strange, journey for The Witcher, which totally fits, seeing as how that’s what Geralt, Ciri and Yennefer have to deal with on the drama that’s enchanted those with a Netflix subscription since December 2019. We found out just in April 2024 that Season 5 will be our last look at the Continent, but with the fourth season currently in production with a new lead, the future looks kinda tricky. Now, star Freya Allan is defending her new co-star, Liam Hemsworth, from backlash, and admitted “that fanbase can be attacky.”

What Did The Witcher’s Freya Allan Say About Liam Hemsworth And The Show’s Fans?

Word came down that the upcoming The Witcher Season 4 is now officially in production with new Geralt, Liam Hemsworth, at the same time we found out that the fifth set of episodes will be the last ones. But, the Witcher fandom has basically been in an uproar since October 2022, when previous star Henry Cavill revealed that he was leaving the role that had really helped to endear the fantasy series to fans (and Andrzej Sapkowski, the author of the books it’s based on). When speaking with Collider, Ciri’s portrayer, Freya Allan, spoke about what she’s seen of Hemsworth’s efforts so far, saying:

He has, indeed, been training. Just before we got the news that the fourth season was finally filming, the Hunger Games star let everyone see how much work he was putting in to get the ripped Geralt look we’re all so used to seeing. And, the photo was so effective that the sister of his ex-wife, Miley Cyrus, even briefly liked the pic. Allan continued, explaining what she hopes to see from the fans once we finally get a look at him in character:

As noted earlier, the fanbase has been pretty annoyed (to put it mildly) about Cavill no longer being involved with the show. A petition to fire the writers and get him back on board was even started, seeing as how rumors abound that those behind the scenes weren’t crazy about the source material, something that many viewers (and Cavill himself) actually loved and wanted to see adapted as faithfully as possible.

Along with that, there had already been several times in the past where the creative direction of the series was not, shall we say, approved of by much of the audience. There was quite a bit of blowback after Yen betrayed Geralt and Ciri in Season 2, plus, many viewers have been open in general about liking the books more than the show, and the showrunner has gotten into some intense social media storms over series criticisms before.

I’m with Allan in hoping that fans give his version of the White Wolf a chance before completely dismissing it. I haven’t always been 100% on board with everything that happens on the show, but, overall, I’ve felt that it was worth sticking with. So, I see no reason to totally abandon The Witcher just because we have a new lead. Hopefully, millions of other fans will see the value in at least trying Hemsworth’s time on the action-packed series before deciding yay or nay on the final two seasons.

It has been quite a while since we got any solid info about The Witcher Season 4, which is coming up for those with a Netflix subscription at some point in the future. What We Know About The Witcher Seasons 4 And 5

Word came down from Tudum today that Netflix has renewed The Witcher for Season 5, but that it will be the last that fans will see of Geralt, Ciri, Yennefer, Jaskier, and their many allies and enemies on The Continent. Not only that, but Season 4 of the action-packed series is now in production, and news on the show is set to keep rolling for a while, as the final season will film right after.

The book series on which it's based features three remaining novels that have yet to be adapted for the creature-heavy streaming series, so why might Netflix be pulling the plug after the fifth season?

Why Will Liam Hemsworth Only Get Two Seasons Of The Witcher?

Let’s start with the simplest of reasons, shall we? The Tudum story also noted that the two final seasons will, indeed, cover the last three novels written for the main Witcher Saga (Baptism of Fire, The Tower of the Swallow, and Lady of the Lake). Sapkowski (who shared his not-so-great thoughts on the show in early 2023) only wrote five novels in the main saga, with a couple of short story collections being published prior, and one standalone novel coming along after.

The first three seasons of the hit used tales from both short story collections and the first two novels to begin the adventures of Geralt of Rivia and fill out the histories of Princess Ciri and powerful mage Yen, and showed how our heroes eventually became a family. That’s a lot of content that was mined for only Seasons 1-3, so it makes sense that the writers were able to craft a two-season arc to wrap things up out of the last three novels.

Also, there’s the little matter of Mr. Hemsworth, himself. For the first three seasons, noted beefy fantasy geek Henry Cavill (who’s now working on a Warhammer adaptation and a Highlander reboot) had worn Geralt’s armor as the White Wolf and the lead of the series. While people typically had many mixed feelings about the show overall, no one disputed his commitment to bringing Geralt to life, with Sapkowski praising his performance around the time Season 1 dropped in December 2019.

But, fans were dealt a blow in October 2022, when Cavill announced that he was leaving the role after the third season, which, by the way, was still many months away from airing. Many viewers, who adored his portrayal, were angered to the point of starting and signing a petition to fire the writers and get him back on the show, seeing as how there were rumors that he and many of those crafting the story were clashing on the direction things were taking, and that some of the creatives actually “actively disliked” the source material.

All of this, prior to the release of The Witcher Season 3, led to less than enthusiastic fan responses to those episodes, with the ratings showing a significant dropoff, not just for each new episode, but also compared to Season 2.

On top of that, the once active Witcher franchise on Netflix has failed to gain ground in other areas, especially with the live-action prequel, The Witcher: Blood Origin, trying to further the lore but not being met with any great reception. 

Certainly none of this is the fault of Liam Hemsworth. In fact, fans seem to be on his side, despite their desire to have Cavill back and all the writers fired, because when promos for the third season were seen as throwing Hemsworth under the bus, that pissed fans off, too. 

While the Hunger Games star has been showing off his ripped Geralt physique, it seems that Netflix has decided to cut its losses, and let the series wrap with one additional season. We’ll be hearing more about The Witcher as filming on Seasons 4 and 5 continue.

As far as we can tell, that was the only manner in which the 27-year-old singer responded. It was confirmed during the summer of 2012 that Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus were getting married, after having begun an on-and-off relationship. The two, who met on the set of The Last Song, eventually broke off the engagement in 2013 by, after getting back together in 2016, they got engaged again. They eventually tied the knot in December of that year and, by 2019, they announced their separation, with their divorce being finalized in 2020. The singer previously opened up about there being “conflict” in the marriage, and Hemsworth has also been speculated to have inspired Cyrus’ hit single, “Flowers.”

Considering the history between the two former lovers, it’s interesting that Noah Cyrus would like the Independence Day: Resurgence actor’s post. We can’t say for sure what this little like may indicate about where things stand between Cyrus and her former brother-in-law. However, at first glance, one can’t help but wonder if it means the two remain on relatively solid terms since the leading man’s split from Miley. 

This social media-related development arrives as drama is reportedly unfolding within the Cyrus family. Noah and her mother, Tish, are allegedly estranged, due to the former supposedly dating her mother’s current husband, actor Dominic Purcell, shortly before he began seeing the latter. Sources also claim that Miley was aware of the supposed relationship and is currently unhappy with the drama surrounding her mother and sister.

Meanwhile, fans of The Witcher have been looking for hints regarding Liam Hemsworth’s debut. The actor’s casting was announced in October 2022 ahead of the third season’s premiere. As of right now, it’s hard to say what fans can expect from his take on Geralt, but I’d think that he’s aiming to put his own spin on the role. Surely, plenty of Netflix subscribers will be tuning in to see how Hemsworth fares in his new gig. And, after Noah Cyrus liked his workout pic, I now can’t help but wonder if she’ll be one of the many to check out Season 4 when it drops.

The movie hit theaters back in February, but landed on VOD a few weeks ago, likely to many more people checking it out. 

As for what Hemsworth will be doing next, per Netflix, The Witcher is set to start production this spring. This week The Matrix actor Laurence Fishburne was announced to be joining the new season as Regis, who is a fan-favorite character that was introduced in Andrzej Sapkowski’s novel Baptism of Fire. Other new actors joining the Season 4 cast are Sharlto Copley as bounty hunter Leo Bonhart, James Purefoy as Skellen, Emhyr’s court advisor and spy; and Danny Woodburn as Zoltan the dwarf. 

The upcoming season will of course see the return of Anya Chalotra’s Yennefer and Freya Allen’s Ciri and pick up with what happened at the end of Season 3. While we don’t know exactly how the switch between Cavill and Hemsworth will occur in Season 3, the show’s executive producer gave fans a hint last year. 

While it's certainly exciting to see Liam Hemsworth getting in shape right before he's set to play Geralt, it hasn’t been the smoothest transition thus far. Fans of the series have really embraced Henry Cavill in the role of the White Wolf since the show’s premiere, and it’s not necessarily easy to see the actor go. However, when Season 3 premiered last year, some fans of the show came to Hemsworth’s side when they felt like promos were throwing him under the bus. 

While The Witcher was positively received by critics overall, viewing trends showed a decline in interest from audiences tuning into Season 3. Time will tell how Hemsworth is received by fans of the series. We still have yet to see Hemsworth in costume and playing the role, but that’s definitely to come. It’s honestly understandable as to why Marvel Studios and Disney would’ve had interest in tapping Liam Hemsworth to play the God of Thunder. His physicality alone would make him an optimal choice. Yet it’s really not hard to see why Chris, who’s had to stay superhero-ripped for years, was chosen. So how exactly did the future Extraction franchise lead manage to get the part over his sibling? What Went Down When Chris Hemsworth Learned About The Role Of Thor And Auditioned?

Those who’ve watched the Marvel movies in order likely know that Kenneth Branagh’s Thor is one of the earliest titles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Pre-production on the 2011 superhero film began in 2009, which is when the cast was assembled. The Disney-owned studio reportedly looked at a number of actors for the titular role, including Tom Hiddleston. (He’d, of course, go on to play the lead character’s adopted brother, Loki, and become a fan favorite for his performance.)

Chris Hemsworth had mostly starred in Australian productions by the time the major role got on his radar. The biggest American film he’d done by that time was J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek, in which he’d played the role of Captain Kirk’s father. Even though Hemsworth hadn’t done much within the realm of big-screen blockbusters, he did feel like he could be a fit for the Marvel role. As the actor recalled to W Magazine in 2017, he got that idea after seeing the description of the character:

It apparently took a while before Chris Hemsworth heard anything after the audition. During that time, he didn’t remain idle, though, as he filmed The Cabin in the Woods. Simultaneously, Liam Hemsworth found his way into the audition process for Thor. Chris explained to W Magazine how Liam jumped into the mix. He also revealed the honest feedback he received from his Cabin collaborators after they learned he’d auditioned for the role of the Asgardian: 

The situation was starting to look somewhat grim for the actor, with Liam Hemsworth seemingly having a solid shot at landing the part. However, the casting directors ultimately weren’t pleased with the roster of stars they’d landed on. And in a surprising turn of events, they turned their attention back to Chris – in great part because of Liam:

How Have Chris And Liam Hemsworth’s Careers Changed Since They Both Auditioned For Thor?

Thanks to his role as Odinson, Chris Hemsworth has headlined four Thor movies, as of this writing and starred in four Avengers films. So he’s appeared in a solid number of Marvel films (which we’ve ranked). Of course, Hemsworth has other franchise films under his belt, which have achieved varying degrees of success. When it comes to his superhero role, the actor is currently unsure whether he’ll play the part again. He is, however, open to reprising the role but will only sign on if he gets the chance to reinvent the character again. 

Liam Hemsworth may have lost out on his chance to play the prince of Asgard in the MCU, but he later joined another major franchise – The Hunger Games. He played the role of Gale Hawthorne in four films. The Expendables 2, Empire State, Cut Bank and Killerman are a few of the movies he’s starred in since 2012 as well. His biggest role may be yet to come, though, as it was revealed in October 2022 that Hemsworth would replace Henry Cavill in the role of Geralt at the start of the fourth season of Netflix’s The Witcher.

Overall, one can definitely say that the Hemsworth brothers have done well for themselves. The two still seem to have that friendly, competitive nature, which extends to their oldest brother, Luke, as well. However, the two younger siblings didn’t seem to be at odds regarding who did and who didn’t land the role of Thor. Well, when the A-lister spent last Christmas with his clan in Fiji, they stayed at a private resort on the island of Tavarua. For a seven-night stay, it reportedly cost them $6,000 a person. That's definitely pricey, but it’s arguably worth it if you get to enjoy the luxuries of sandy beaches and be in the company of beautiful waters you can't get anywhere else. 

Plus, it helps that the Rush star is one of the most bankable actors around and is still making movies. This year, he finished filming for the Mad Max: Fury Road spinoff Furiosa, which he described as the “best experience” of his career. He’s also part of the Transformers One cast and is the voice of Optimus Prime. So yeah, he can afford to spare no expense when it comes to a vacation.

Fantasy fans with a Netflix subscription are now just a little less than a week away from the release of The Witcher Season 3, Vol. 2, which will see star Henry Cavill end his run on the sword-swinging series. Liam Hemsworth is taking over as Geralt of Rivia for Season 4, and while many audience members have remained angry about the switch, likely to the point of causing the show’s viewership drop in the current season, there are some questions from those who remain about whether or not the story will actually address the change. Now, it sounds like we’ve gotten a hint about it from an executive producer.

What Did The Witcher’s Executive Producer Say About Addressing The Switch From Henry Cavill To Liam Hemsworth?

As noted, many fans who were previously very committed to The Witcher have been up in arms since the October 2022 news that our current White Wolf was hitting the road and turning his monster fighting duties over to someone else. While we’ve heard that there will be a “heroic sendoff” for Cavill’s version of the character, and his departure is also “a big deal” for everyone on the show, with a few episodes yet to come, there’s still the question of whether or not the plot will put any focus on the change. 

When speaking with RadioTimes about the fourth season, EP Tomek Bagiński alluded to there potentially being a story-based reason for Geralt’s new appearance, and said:

Alright, guys. Here is where I tell you that I haven’t read all of the books that the drama is based on, but that from what I’ve read about the story which will likely be adapted next, Baptism of Fire, there’s nothing in the book, specifically, that even alludes to Geralt undergoing a massive physical transformation which would necessitate a new actor in the role. 

In fact, this is at least the second time that Bagiński has talked about the books offering an explanation for Cavill’s exit with him saying a little less than a month ago that it will be “very lore accurate” and “very, very close to the meta ideas” of all the books and the one mentioned above, in particular. I also noted at the time that there’s nothing I’ve heard about the books that directly points to whatever meta concepts he’s talking about, which does kinda make me worry that they’re going to go way too far trying to explain something that doesn’t really need an explanation.

With the new info that the EP has given us, though, there are two possibilities that I can think of which might give audiences such reasoning. First, if you know what happens in The Time of Contempt (the book that was adapted for Season 3) then you know where things are basically heading. The events at the end of the book appear to be on the way, based on what we’ve seen so far, meaning that something big is coming for our hero by the time the credits roll on Cavill’s final appearance. Though it’s not an event that automatically makes it easy to see why we’d have a new Geralt, in a world with magic it would be pretty easy to spin it that way.

Secondly, as Bagiński said, the whole reason the Continent is the way we see it now is because of the Conjunction of the Spheres, the ancient event when many worlds magically (and accidentally) collided. The Wild Hunt occupy one such other world that’s not currently as connected to the one that’s home to the Continent, so why couldn’t there be one where things are essentially the same, but where a different young boy was named Geralt and became the White Wolf?

Now, how he becomes our new Geralt in the world that we’ve been following for three seasons is still a mystery, but, again, The Witcher’s got all kinds of magic, so they could easily woo-woo these questions away. Speaking of which, the EP added:

OK. Look, while everyone will miss what Cavill has done as the lead, I’m still hopeful that Hemsworth will make a great Geralt, and prove totally undeserving of being thrown “under the bus” in those Witcher ads. Honestly, I can’t wait to see how this switch shakes out in Season 4.

There's nothing like a bit of quality time with family and, given their busy schedules, a number of A-list celebrities are sure to appreciate it. Hot off his Extraction 2 success, Chris Hemsworth took a break from his business affairs to share some sweet moments from his dad’s recent birthday. And holy look alike, Batman, the Thor actor and brother Liam Hemsworth were totally twinning at the party, which was captured in a social media post.

The Hemsworth brothers are sons to Craig Hemsworth, who has made a living as a social services counselor in their home of Melbourne, Australia. Chris let everyone know his dad, who he called the “greatest man” he knows, just celebrated another year around the sun. Over a decade since each of their big breaks, the actors are big names now in their own right. Liam Hemsworth was chosen to take over as Geralt on The Witcher following Henry Cavill’s exit. Though The Witcher Season 3, Vol. 1 debuted on June 29 for those with a Netflix subscription and got critical love for Henry Cavill and the main cast (but disappointed reviews for nearly everything else), the fantasy series is still under quite a cloud. The star announced back in October 2022 that the third season of the action-packed drama would be his last, with Liam Hemsworth taking over for Season 4 and beyond. Fans were so pissed that they started a petition to get Cavill back, but now some are not pleased about promos for Season 3 that throw The Hunger Games star “under the bus.” 

What Are The Witcher Season 3 Promos That Have Fans Upset About Liam Hemsworth Being Thrown ‘Under The Bus’?

If you’ve been paying attention to fandom for this show, then you probably noticed that not only have the OG fans (who love the books the show is based on, and/or the video games which are based on the same source material) been incredibly disappointed (to put it mildly) with the series deviating from the original tales, but unbelievably angry that more wasn’t done to keep Cavill as Geralt of Rivia. Some viewers are now upset about the ads for The Witcher Season 3, which definitely appear to dismiss incoming star Hemsworth:

I mean…egad, right? I did actually see these photos online over The Witcher’s release weekend, and, much like the commenter here, assumed it was just a fan angry about it being Cavill’s final season messing around. That was, until I saw that the show’s official Twitter account posted them, and I was, you know, incredibly surprised that they’d go this far.

Many in the comments on this post are talking about Cavill, but there are also several people who do not like the seemingly apparent Hemsworth diss in the promos at all:

• “Oh my god ha ha. This is them basically admitting ‘yeah, we know Liam being Gerald is gonna make the show less popular.’ Poor guy”
• “There is just no class when it comes to things.”
• “This is just a signal for a disaster that already happened.”
• “Just really in bad taste. Why throw Liam under the bus like that and unfair to Henry as well.”

As far as I can see, the only way these ads might be “unfair” to our outgoing lead is that they take the focus off of his performance in Season 3 (he literally made me tear up during one scene in the third episode of the season), but I can totally get where these fans are coming from with everything else they’ve said. 

The creatives behind the show have been doing a lot of work over the past several months to convince audiences to stick around, because as the first comment noted, they realize the loss of Cavill has made people far less likely to keep watching. Shortly after the news of his departure came out, showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich said that it was “big news” for everyone on the series, as well, and then asked that viewers “please come back for The Witcher Season 3 so that we can continue to do this,” which seems like a pretty obvious acknowledgment that “a disaster” had indeed “already happened.”

Everyone who watches this show is thinking about the day when it’ll return for Season 4 and Hemsworth will be our new White Wolf, and while a few (like me) are probably simply eager to see how the portrayal will be different, many have admitted to already being uninvested. Several fans commented that they stopped paying attention to news of the show when hearing Cavill wouldn’t be back, and literally didn’t even realize the third season was now available, which those at Netflix must have known was a possibility. 

So, why focus on the thing that has people pissed off and beg them to watch at least one more season? And why be so dismissive of Hemsworth? I’m guessing he’s really going to try his level best to carry the role under some truly less than positive circumstances. The guy is already fighting against the tide of extreme fan apathy/disappointment; emphasizing the fact that so few even want to bother with his Geralt really does appear unnecessary, at the very least.

The series has already been renewed for Season 4, with the casting director telling Deadline that Season 5 has also been given the go-ahead, but if the streamer has to do this kind of work to attempt keeping people around for Season 3 (Which totally still has Cavill starring!), one does wonder if that will hold.

Though there are, of course, many reasons why fans are eager to pick back up with the tale of Geralt, Ciri, and Yennefer, a big one is that the upcoming The Witcher Season 3 will be Henry Cavill’s last leading the fantasy hit. We all want to know what his last act as Geralt will be, and while the executive producers talked about Cavill having a “strong” exit, I’m actually now a bit worried about it.

What Did The Witcher’s Exec Producers Say About Henry Cavill’s Last Season As Geralt?

Those who work behind the scenes on the series have had a lot to do over the past several months, especially when it comes to convincing viewers to stick around for The Witcher Season 4, which will see Liam Hemsworth take over as the White Wolf. In chatting with Yahoo UK recently, executive producers Steve Gaub and Tomek Bagiński opened up about the transition and how we’ll see Cavill leave the series, with Gaub saying:

Fans were start-a-petition angry about the Geralt change, and while the showrunner admitted that it’s also “a big deal” for everyone at the show, she also promised a “heroic sendoff” for the man who brought the character into live action. There have been rumors that his departure was precipitated by a general lack of writer respect for The Witcher books, so, hopefully, this season really will see him living out the version of Geralt he’s wanted to portray all along, and he left with a clear conscience, knowing he’d wrapped his time there in as “strong” a way as possible for himself, and the fans. Bagiński added:

And now I’m worried.

Why What The Witcher’s Exec Producer Said About Transitioning From Cavill To Hemsworth Has Me Worried

Alright, for full disclosure, I am not an O.G. Witcher fan. Meaning, before watching the show upon its debut in late 2019, I had never read the books or even played any of the video games. So, I have no attachment to the story as it’s been told before, though I completely understand the desire of long-time fans for what’s seen on the show to hew closely to the tales in the books. 

I’m also not one of the fans who’s only stuck with the show for Cavill, so whatever his reasons for moving on, I’m simply intrigued by the prospect of watching Hemsworth in the role after Season 3. On its face, I love the idea of the transition being “flawless,” but all this talk of the switch using “meta ideas” from the books and being “lore accurate” seems off. 

Obviously, this change in one of the three main actors wasn’t something that was planned previously, and there’s been no hint from anyone involved with the show before now that there were any big meta moments in the source material which would lead to actual major physical changes for Geralt that would necessitate a different actor.

In fact, after doing some searching to see what Bagiński could be referring to, I came upon an article which confirmed my suspicion that nothing in the books leads to a physical transformation for our favorite monster hunter. The EP could just mean that Geralt will fully give up the idea of political neutrality so that he can totally protect/train Ciri, but that’s not something that naturally leads to an explanation of why he’ll look different beyond Season 3.

Also, I don’t think any show fans who plan to stick with it really need such an explanation. We all know Cavill’s done, and we’re smart enough to just ride the wave of having Hemsworth as Geralt when the fourth season picks up, no special reasoning needed. What worries me is that, if there really isn’t anything in particular in the books that makes the actor switch understandable, why force such a thing, when we don’t need it at all? 

If they don’t trust the audience to accept the change (which isn’t impossible, as fans have definitely been threatening to stop watching or even cancel Netflix in anger after Season 3), making story alterations that take us even further away from the books for the fourth season could easily affect the series in a negative way. They’re already at risk of losing their audience, as many kept watching despite changes from the books because of Cavill, so having Hemsworth leading us through a tale that continues to take us away from those stories is likely to make any remaining book fans flee, meaning we might only get one more season.

Plus, honestly, these supposed “deeply embedded” book ideas sound like they could be rather convoluted, and we finally have two seasons where Geralt, Yen, and Ciri are all in the same timeline and together for the most part. No one wants to go back to confusing Witcher stories, OK?

I truly have no clue what’s to come in Season 3 or any potential future seasons, but I think we all want it to be a fun, thrilling, totally watchable viewing experience. So, here’s hoping that whatever they come up with, it hits that mark.

Well, after being asked about the rumors, the pop star opened up about her tune, and how she actually changed up the lyrics. 

Following the release of “Flowers” the internet was ablaze with rumors about if the song was about Liam Hemsworth. People tied the lyrics to events in the ex-couple's relationship, and they noticed that it seemed like the singer was wearing a suit that the Hunger Games actor wore. However, when Cyrus was asked about all the speculation surrounding Hemsworth and "Flowers," she explained to Vogue UK that she doesn't really have time for that kind of talk. She said:

I think it's safe to say that this lyric change really worked in her favor. Despite the rumors surrounding how this song might be related to her ex, fans have genuinely been loving Miley Cyrus’ anthem and have been loving the idea of buying themselves flowers and writing their name in the sand. 

We’re only in the early days of May, but Miley Cyrus has been celebrating her Endless Summer Vacation for months now, with new music that includes the hit “Flowers” off her recently released album. In addition to the artist dropping the single on The Hunger Games actor’s birthday, the “Flowers” music video shows Cyrus dancing around in a manner reminiscent of Joaquin Phoenix’s moves in Joker, which is reportedly Hemsworth’s favorite movie. 

Furthermore, the chorus of the song — “I can buy myself flowers … I can hold my own hand” — is thought by some fans to be a response to Bruno Mars’ “When I Was Your Man,” which Liam Hemsworth apparently dedicated to his wife at their wedding. That song includes the lyrics, “I should have bought you flowers / And held your hand.” The track also references that they “Built a home and watched it burn,” a possible reference to Miley Cyrus and Hemsworth’s house that was destroyed in the 2018 Woolsey Fire.

Those close to the former couple may have more insider knowledge about Miley Cyrus’ supposed Easter eggs, but her former in-laws aren’t talking. Chris Hemsworth's wife Elsa Pataky was asked about the “Flowers” video, and while she said Cyrus should be able to do what she wants, she refused to speak on her brother-in-law’s behalf.

Pop star/actress Miley Cyrus famously dated Liam Hemsworth from on and off starting in 2009, eventually getting married. But they split in 2019, and fans have long theorized that her new breakup anthem “Flowers” was about the Hunger Games actor. Chris Hemsworth’s wife Elsa Pataky was recently asked about the song while attending an event in Spain (via Hola), where she said:

There you have it. Looks like Elsa Pataky didn’t want to get involved in the ongoing discourse surrounding her brother-in-law Liam Hemsworth and his ex Miley Cyrus. This is definitely a classy approach, although smart money says questions might keep coming for the foreseeable future. Elsa Pataky’s comments about the Liam Hemsworth “Flowers” rumors seem to offer an update about the state of her relationship with Miley Cyrus. It sounds like the two haven’t really stayed in touch, which is understandable under the circumstances. After all, in-law bonds are often built on proximity, and Miley is no longer part of the Hemsworth clan.

The new queen of New Year’s Eve released the single “Flowers,” ahead of the launch of her album Endless Summer Vacation, and fans are going wild with theories of how the song and music video reference her ex-husband, actor Liam Hemsworth. Let’s take a look at all the clues Cyrus has possibly left for us to dissect.

When the announcement came that Miley Cyrus was dropping “Flowers” on January 13 — Liam Hemsworth’s birthday — many suspected the former Voice coach might have some shots to take at her ex-husband. The lyrics seem to support that theory, particularly the line: 

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth lost their house in the 2018 Woolsey Fire, which destroyed thousands of homes in California and prompted the couple to get married. Which they did later that year, tying the knot in a low-key Tennessee ceremony. 

Speaking of their wedding, fans say The Hunger Games actor dedicated the Bruno Mars song “When I Was Your Man” to his new wife that night. There were several other references that Miley Cyrus’ fans seemed to think were direct shots at her ex. Several people noted that her dancing in the music video looked a lot like Joaquin Phoenix’s Oscar-winning character in Joker — which is supposedly Liam Hemsworth’s favorite movie, according to this tweet and many others on social media. 

The suit that Miley Cyrus wore in that portion of the video apparently served a double purpose, according to online sleuths. These people think that it not only made an easier comparison to the Joker costume, but it was also possibly a reference to Liam Hemsworth’s wardrobe on the Avengers red carpet in 2019, in which many believe the actor was caught on camera telling the Hannah Montana alum to “behave.” One TikToker opined: 

While we’re on the subject of red carpet chastising, many fans saw a correlation between the “Party in the U.S.A.” singer’s dancing in the “Flowers” music video and the moves she tried to pull on her husband at Vanity Fair’s 2019 Oscars party. This TikTok user was feeling the shade: 

One of the super popular rumors going around is that the “Flowers” video was filmed in a house where some fans say Liam Hemsworth cheated on Miley Cyrus 14 times. No evidence was given to support that very specific number of dalliances, but some were left wondering if the singer’s gold dress in the video was a nod to the one her husband’s former co-star Jennifer Lawrence wore to the Hunger Games premiere in 2012. 

Couple that with a resurfaced Watch What Happens Live interview — in which J-Law pretty much admits she had kissed Hemsworth at some point — and it seems like that theory might have legs. This year marks the 70th anniversary of author Ian Fleming first published Casino Royale. Thanks to that literary watershed, the James Bond movies eventually became a theatrical powerhouse that still excites the world to this day. In 2023, the hunt is on for the next 007 for the big screen, and in that search, it’s always interesting to learn the opinions of an actor who in once wore the tuxedo and carried the Walther PP7.

In that spirit, it should surprise no one that On Her Majesty’s Secret Service vet George Lazenby has a take, and he wants the next Bond to be an Aussie. The part that might take some aback, however, is that he has a specific actor in mind for the role. In a recent interview with TMZ, he named Liam Hemsworth as his pick to be 007. Apparently, Lazenby believes that the youngest Hemsworth brother has quite a few qualifications to land the role.

Aside from a common bond of Australian heritage with Lazenby, Liam Hemsworth is an actor who is young and talented enough to take over the mantle recently vacated by Daniel Craig with No Time To Die. While Craig’s tenure of 007 films casts a pretty huge shadow, George Lazenby believes that Liam has the attitude and charisma to meet the challenge. It’s that aspect in particular that properly sets up the kinship that Lazenby feels with Hemsworth.

As the first actor to inhabit the role when Sean Connery’s James Bond run initially came to an end, this “other fella” knows what he’s talking about. Debuting in 1969’s On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, Lazenby’s only outing as Commander Bond initially landed with a bit of a thud, only to be reappraised over time. George Lazenby mentioned in his interview that just as he was brash enough to challenge the already mythic imprint Sean Connery left in Bond history by time the Scottish star had made 1967’s You Only Live Twice, he feels that Hemsworth has the right amount of bravado to do just that in the wake of Daniel Craig.

Continuing a legacy that’s seen George Lazenby associated with a more off-the-beaten-path sensibility in the 007 franchise, the actor suggesting Liam Hemsworth seems to go against the most recent Bond buzz to hit the internet. Various sources seem to be convinced that Bullet Train actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson has supposedly landed the role, or at the very least has taken clandestine meetings with EON Productions.

There’s no specific end in sight when it comes to the hunt for the next James Bond, though we do have some milestones that help narrow the window a little bit. As the currently untitled Bond 26 is set for a 2024 shoot, one might assume that the 007th actor to play the role will be announced in the fall. 

That being said, there’s still some time for Liam Hemsworth to submit his headshot, and throw his hat into the ring of contenders that want to usher in the next frame of Bond history. In the meantime, the world will just have to wait to see whose face will be on the big screen when James Bond eventually returns.

Fans of Netflix’s The Witcher were likely all very happy to learn over this past weekend that before Season 3 of the show was even ready to air, Season 4 had been given the green light. That enthusiasm may have been dampened, however, by the news that Henry Cavill will not return to the role of Geralt of Rivia for that fourth season. This fact surprised many fans, but it’s starting to sound like perhaps Cavill has been unhappy with the show for some time.

It’s a pretty well known fact that Henry Cavill is a bit of a nerd, and as such he was a fan of The Witcher before the show. He reportedly fought hard for the role of Geralt, but according to fan site Randian Intelligence, Cavill was already becoming disillusioned during Season 2 of the show. The rumor claims that Cavill wanted to see a version of Geralt that was faithful to the original novels, while the showrunners were taking things in a different direction, leading to conflict.

The site claims that it heard rumors of Cavill considering leaving after Season 2, but when the actor re-upped for Season 3, it assumed there was nothing to those rumors, or at the very least that issues had been resolved. It also points out comments that Cavill made in interviews as part of the Witcher Season 2 media campaign, where the actor talked about trying to bring the showrunners vision of the character and the book’s vision together in some way. 

Many wondered if Cavill’s decision to leave The Witcher was in some way connected to the fact that Cavill has confirmed he will be returning as Superman for WB at some point down the line. While that possibility can’t be discounted, Cavill wouldn’t be the first actor to need to juggle multiple franchises at once. Most are able to do it without issue and all indications are that the next Superman project is in the earliest stages, so it’s too early to really worry about that.

“Creative differences” has become something of a catch all term when people leave films and television but if this rumor is to be believed, then that appears to be exactly what happened here. Cavill had a particular creative vision for how he saw the show going, and when it ended up not going that way, he became less enthusiastic about the role. Cavill clearly loves the original Witcher novels. For what it's worth, Witcher author Andrzej Sapkowski was also a fan of Cavill in the role.

In the end, creating a version of The Witcher that is less faithful to the source material isn’t a problem on its own. It can still lead to a show that is good in its own right. How fans react to Season 3 may end up being the big question. As long as viewers like The Witcher as it is, they’ll likely tune in for Season 4. Once that happens there will be a lot of pressure on Liam Hemsworth to keep the story going. 

It’s been a little while since Henry Cavill last graced our screens as Geralt of Rivia on The Witcher. The fantasy series recently wrapped production on Season 3, and the fan anticipation only seems to be building by the day. Ahead of the new slate of episodes, some bittersweet news has dropped, though. Netflix formally confirmed that the show has already been renewed for a fourth season. However, Cavill will not return as the lead character. And interestingly enough, his fan-favorite role has already been recast. 

Henry Cavill further confirmed that he won’t be donning his armor and sword once more when The Witcher starts production on Season 4. As it turns out, the British star will be succeeded in the role by none other than Liam Hemsworth. Cavill dropped a statement, which was shared by the streamer, on his Instagram in which he reflected on his time playing Geralt and sent some well wishes to his successor: 

Liam Hemsworth, who audiences likely know from films like The Hunger Games and Independence Day: Resurgence, also spoke out about his new gig. The star, a self-professed fan of the fantasy franchise, shared his own statement in which he expressed gratitude to his predecessor for handing over the reins. It also sounds like the 32-year-old performer is ready to get to take his position within the Continent: 

This is a massive surprise, to say the least. It’s honestly pretty sad to know that the Mission: Impossible alum is leaving the show, especially since he embodied Geralt in such a compelling way. Nevertheless, he seems more than confident that Liam Hemsworth can do the role justice. At the very least, we can already say that the Australian actor will bring a significant level of physicality to the role.

One can’t help but wonder what exactly spurred Henry Cavill's decision to leave the series. Odds are that it could be due to his massive work schedule, which has more recently included films like the critically acclaimed Enola Holmes 2 and the soon-to-be-released Argylle. And of course, there’s also that other little gig that Cavill recently took back up in the DC Universe. The actor has officially returned as Superman and is already teasing a “bright future” for the character. With that, it’s possible that Warner Bros. is looking to sign him for a few cinematic engagements that could tie him up for a while.

On the flip side of the situation, this could allow Liam Hemsworth the chance to explore some interesting new territory and spread his wings as an actor. Sure, he’s no stranger to roles that involve combat, but the actual character is a bit different from many that he’s played in the past. Though aside from that, I am indeed curious as to whether he can provide Geralt with more intense fights, which were effectively performed by Henry Cavill. With this new development, we wish both actors the best as they set out on their respective paths.

Typecasting and superhero roles used to go together quite often and Chris Hemsworth has made no secret about having that worry. That first phase of the MCU was about building the Avengers Initiative, something nobody was sure would work, and it was reflected in the concept of the movies themselves, building a cinematic universe in a way that nobody had tried before. Nobody was sure it would work either but it certainly did. This has led us to now, where Chris Hemsworth is starring in Thor: Love and Thunder, the first of the MCU actors to get a solo fourth film. It certainly has worked out for him. 

Based on Suzanne Collins’ best-selling trilogy, The Hunger Games movies remain the most successful YA franchise behind the Harry Potter movies. While so many other adaptations of the genre have fallen short, a story centered on a dystopian future where a televised battle between children fighting to the death have really ignited audience interests across over a decade of filmmaking. But, how do each of the installments stack up against one another, if each movie had to fight to the death? 

The Hunger Games was not only early to the game when it comes to Jennifer Lawrence being a massive female lead of a genre franchise before Star Wars, Marvel or DC did it, the universe itself also tells the timely and timeless story of class struggles, excess, and survival. The movie adaptations remain strong films as a whole, even despite some shortcomings, inspiring the 2023 prequel about the origins of President Snow and another one on the way in 2026 based on Haymitch’s games . Now, let’s get to The Hunger Games ranking thus far: 

5. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1

The 2014 third Hunger Games installment, Mockingjay Part 1, is not unwatchable, and it features some great moments in the franchise, but it’s definitely the weakest link of the five movies. After the previous films were thrilling spectacles that took us to the arena of The Hunger Games, Mockingjay Part 1 brings the series to a major slowdown as Katniss ventures to District 13 and truly learns to become the symbol of the rebellion, the Mockingjay. 

The main reason why Mockingjay Part 1 doesn’t work is probably because it is the result of Lionsgate deciding to split the last Hunger Games book up into two parts, like Twilight did before it, in order to bring in more money for the franchise before it wrapped up. From a business point of view, sure, it makes sense. But in terms of Mockingjay Part 1’s storyline, overall, that book did not need to be split into two parts, and Part 1 particularly suffered because of it. Director Francis Lawrence has even said he “totally regrets” turning the third book into two movies. 

That being said, Mockingjay Part 1 features a number of memorable moments in the franchise and some tension, as Peeta and Katniss separated. Peeta is under the Capitol’s grip as Katniss gets to know Julianne Moore’s President Coin and they work together to make Katniss a brand for the rebellion. Mockingjay Part 1 plays more as a middle-of-the-war film than the other Hunger Games movies. 

4. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2

The conclusion of The Hunger Games films, 2015’s Mockingjay Part 2 is not the best of the franchise either, but is likely a lot better than you remember it, especially in regards to how the ending was handled. After a disappointing third act in the previous film, Mockingjay Part 2 takes Katniss to the Capitol where she and a group of allies, including Josh Hutcherson’s Peeta and Liam Hemsworth’s Gale, being on one side with Mahershala Ali, Natalie Dormer, and Elden Hensen’s characters leading the rebellion. 

Although Mockingjay Part 2 feels like half of a movie (much like Part 1), it features an incredible finale, including Katniss’ final confrontations with President Snow and a twist ending that really drives home the messages of the franchise. The moment when Snow finally loses power is an all-time goosebump moment, and the time jump that features Katniss and Peeta’s bittersweet ending drives home their incredible performances as the characters. Jennifer Lawrence has a monologue about her “nightmares” from The Hunger Games that still gives fans chills and emotions just at the simple mention of it, and it still plays really well, especially after consecutive watches of all four films. 

3. The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds And Snakes

Nearly a decade after Katniss Everdeen’s hero’s journey came to a close with Mockingjay Part 2, the world of Panem returned with an adaptation of the 2020 novel, The Ballad of Songbirds And Snakes. The movie takes audiences back in time when Corilanus Snow was a teenager long before he became the dystopian world’s president. Tom Blyth does an incredible job of portraying the character as he mentors a District 12 tribute in Rachel Zegler’s Lucy Gray Baird (who is very different from Katniss), and the two form a complicated romantic bond. 

The Ballad of Songbirds And Snakes is a thrilling addition to the franchise, particularly in how the movie’s time period allows fans of the franchise to imagine a much more brutal game, along with deepening Snow’s backstory. However, at the same time, the installment never reaches the heights of Katniss’ original storyline, and can fall into some prequel traps we’ve seen too often in this Hollywood trend. 

2. The Hunger Games

Then, there's’ the  one that started it all, 2012’s The Hunger Games. It’s tough to not make this one No. 1, because without Gary Ross’ work in casting and establishing the world of Panem with his writing and direction, we’d have a very different franchise. The Hunger Games is an incredibly stylish take on Suzanne Collins' source material and will go down in history as one of the best big-screen realizations of a popular genre novel. From the shaky camera work in the arena, to production and costume design, and James Newton Howard’s great score, there’s a lot Ross did right when adapting the source material. 

The Hunger Games is not a perfect movie, but features a number of winning scenes that are iconic to the franchise. Between the interview scenes with Stanley Tucci’s Caesar Flickerman, the heartbreaking Rue moment, and the well-orchestrated final moments between Katniss and Peeta, it’s an impressive adaptation of the story of the Girl on Fire. There’s a refreshing dryness and groundedness about it that is not only tough to accomplish, but sets the bar high for the franchise as a whole to succeed under Francis Lawrence’s direction for the remainder of the series.  

1. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire 

The best Hunger Games movie remains to be its first sequel, 2013’s Catching Fire. After the first movie established the world and its key characters, this movie elevates what made it great, and ups the stakes. While there’s an inherent awkwardness about the original movie, to the fault of the sometimes alienating material, Catching Fire catches all the moving parts at a more comfortable place and becomes a better version of itself the second time around. 

Lawrence and Hutcherson’s Katniss and Peeta are clearly more comfortable around each other this time around, with the Quarter Quell there’s more room for the movie to build its other contestants and make us care about them. The franchise’s themes are more poignant than ever, especially as Katniss and Peeta tour Panem following their groundbreaking joint-win. There’s a really exciting urgency about Catching Fire that is both incredibly captured into a major, blockbuster popcorn film, and places a large emphasis on the forwarding of its characters, while featuring some show-stopping sequences that remain to signify the best of the Hunger Games legacy thus far. 

Of course, we all have our favorites in the franchise. Overall, The Hunger Games is a rare, strong YA franchise that benefitted from Francis Lawrence remaining at the helm of the films following Gary Ross starting the movies off with the original. The Hunger Games will continue with the prequel, Sunrise on the Reaping. Collins’ novel will be released on March 18, 2025 before the Lionsgate movie heads to theaters on November 20, 2026. Now to wonder, how it will stack up against this list. 

The original Hunger Games franchise may be over, but the power of the Mockingjay symbol lives on. The finale to The Hunger Games movies covers the second half of Suzanne Collins’ novel, Mockingjay, started by Mockingjay Part 1 in the movie prior. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 follows Katniss, Peeta, Gale, Finnick and Mahershala Ali’s Boggs venturing into the Capitol to take down President Snow once and for all. The last movie answers the question about whether Katniss and Peeta’s love story for the cameras is real and concludes what 2012’s The Hunger Games started in an epic and emotional way.

In an interview with GQ in 2007, Gosling confirmed he was thankful for the movie, as he met her through it despite the fact that their relationship ended.

On the set of the spy-movie, Mr. and Mrs. Smith (which is getting a reboot), Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt met. In an interview with Vogue (via People) in 2006, Jolie confirmed that they developed feelings for each other while filming, but didn’t start thinking of getting together instantly. 

Jolie and Pitt married in 2014, but later filed for divorce.  

Robert Pattinson And Kristen Stewart (The Twilight Series)

The Twilight series was a huge hit for Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, who played Edward and Bella in the adaptation of the popular vampire series, and they began dating after the first Twilight film released in 2008, according to an interview Stewart did with The New Yorker. They did eventually break up. 

Freida Pinto And Dev Patel (Slumdog Millionaire)

The 2011 Academy Award-winning film, Slumdog Millionaire, brought together its two stars, Freida Pinto and Dev Patel, after they starred in the film together. In an interview with The Guardian in 2015, Patel talked about his past relationship with Pinto, and how close they were during their time together. 

The pair split in 2014. 

Michelle Williams And Heath Ledger (Brokeback Mountain)

While filming Brokeback Mountain, co-stars Michelle Williams and Heath Ledger starred as husband and wife, and that love ended up coming off screen when the two began to date. In an interview with GQ in 2012, Williams talked about meeting Ledger for the first time, and how she felt she was always meant to meet him.

The two had a child together, but later separated.

Blake Lively And Ryan Reynolds (The Green Lantern)

These two are couples goals. Ever since Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively met on the set of The Green Lantern in 2010, these two have been inseparable and eventually ended up getting married. In an interview with Harper's Bazaar in 2021, Reynolds admits they were seeing different people at the time, but their friendship slowly turned into a relationship. 

They’ve been married for several years now, and have four children. 

Eva Mendes And Ryan Gosling (The Place Beyond The Pines)

In The Place Beyond the Pines, the stars of the film, Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling ended up getting together. Rumors of them being together popped up originally when they were spotted going on a date to Disneyland (via Us Weekly) in 2011, and now more than a decade later, they’re still together and have two daughters. 

Gosling, in an interview with Harper's Bazaar in 2016, gushed about his family.

Famed legendary actors Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton had a whirlwind romance after filming Cleopatra, which released in 1963. Their love was highly publicized and even turned into a limited series, called Liz & Dick. It spanned thirteen years, eleven films together, as well as two marriages and two divorces, according to Vogue. 

Natalie Portman And Benjamin Millepied (Black Swan)

While filming her Academy Award-winning movie, Black Swan, Natalie Portman met Benjamin Millepied, who is a famous choreographer and co-starred with her. Two began dating and married not that long after in 2012. 

In an interview with People, Natalie gushed about her husband and how much she loved working with him again on a new film, called Vox Lux in 2018.

Matthew Broderick And Jennifer Grey (Ferris Bueller’s Day Off)

While they may have played siblings in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Matthew Broderick and Jennifer Grey were actually entangled in a relationship during their time on set. Jennifer Grey spoke about her relationship with the actor in her memoir, Out of the Corner, and how it was hard to keep it a secret from everyone else. 

Once filming ended, according to the memoir, they separated temporarily before getting back together, and dated in 1988. They were also briefly engaged but called it off not that long after. 

Johnny Depp And Winona Ryder (Edward Scissorhands)

While they originally met in the lobby of a New York theater in 1989, according to Rolling Stone (via Cheat Sheet), Johnny Depp and Winona Ryder’s relationship only grew more after co-starring in Edward Scissorhands in 1990, so much so that Depp proposed to Ryder only five months into dating. 

However, in an interview with the Los Angeles Times in 1993, Depp confirmed they had split up due to the privacy the media wouldn’t let them have. 

Claire Danes And Hugh Dancy (Evening)

Both Claire Danes and Hugh Dancy met on the set of Evening, according to an interview Dancy did with London Evening Standard in 2013, saying that marriage to the star, as well as fatherhood, is treating him “very well.”

Goldie Hawn And Kurt Russell (The One And Only, Genuine, Original Family Band)

This long-lasting partnership started way back when in 1966. Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell originally met on the set of The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band, but it wasn’t until Swing Shift in 1984 that they began dating. In an interview with People, Hawn admits that the two don’t see a point in marriage.  

The pair have been together for 40 years, and recently starred in The Christmas Chronicles 2 together in 2020.  

Taylor Swift And Taylor Lautner (Valentine’s Day)

The ultimate Taylor-ship, actor Taylor Lautner and singer Taylor Swift worked together on the romantic comedy Valentine's Day and were seen out together at sports games (via People). The two reportedly dated for a couple of months before breaking up in December of the same year. 

Channing Tatum And Jenna Dewan (Step Up)

One of Channing Tatum’s best movies led to him meeting Jenna Dewan, his co-star and later wife on the set of Step-Up, as confirmed by an interview Tatum did with Elle in 2013. Tatum admitted that he almost didn’t ask Dewan out because he had just gotten out of a relationship. 

While they share a daughter, the two divorced in 2019.  

Daniel Craig And Rachel Weisz (Dream House)

While the two had actually first met at university together, both Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz were brought back together while filming Dream House. Weisz spoke with The Evening Standard in 2018 on her relationship, and how she never thought she would get married, until she started dating Craig. 

Jennifer Lopez And Ben Affleck (Gigli) 

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are back together, but their first run at a relationship was while filming Gigli, where the two became close friends, and later began to date after Lopez divorced from Chris Judd in 2003.

Vanessa Hudgens And Zac Efron (High School Musical Series)

The High School Musical series was a huge hit for the Disney Channel, and onscreen love interests, Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens, turned that love into a long relationship offscreen, according to Hudgens during an interview on The Hollywood Reporter’s “Awards Chatter” podcast (via People) in 2019.

The two were together for five years before breaking up. 

Jennifer Garner And Ben Affleck (Daredevil)

Both Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck first met while filming Pearl Harbor, but started to date after being co-stars in Daredevil, according to an interview with Playboy Magazine in 2017, saying that this set was where they fell in love.

They later married in 2005 and then divorced in 2018. 

Liam Hemsworth And Miley Cyrus (The Last Song)

While filming The Last Song together, Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus became very close, according to Seventeen (via MTV News) where Cyrus said he was her “best friend.” Their relationship was later confirmed after they walked the red carpet together. They were together for years, marrying, before divorcing in 2020. 

Tom Cruise And Nicole Kidman (Days Of Thunder)

Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman met at her audition for Days of Thunder, according to an interview she did with Harper’s Bazaar in 2021. The two stars co-starred, fell in love, married in 1990, and then divorced in 2001. 

Zendaya And Tom Holland (Spider-Man Series)

Tom Holland and Zendaya met while filming Spider-Man: Homecoming together, but it wasn’t until closer to the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home in 2021 that speculation about a romantic relationship between the two seemed to be confirmed. 

Since then, the two have been very public about their relationship, especially when Tom Holland shared a post on Instagram on her birthday, saying that Zendaya was “his MJ.”

Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. met originally on the set of I Know What You Did Last Summer, but didn’t begin to date until 2000, according to an interview Gellar did with People in 2002, saying they weren’t even originally supposed to go on a date - turned into one.

Penelope Cruz And Javier Bardem (Jamón Jamón)

The two actually met for the first time as co-stars while filming Jamón Jamón, they wouldn’t get together until they reunited again filming Vicky Cristina Barcelona, a Woody Allen film, according to an interview Javier Bardem did with GQ in 2017, and started dating after filming was done. 

The two have been married since 2010, and have two children. 

There are so many celebrity couples out there - some that have stood the test of time and others that have not. And I’m sure over time, only more and more will start to pop up with even crazier romances. 

There have certainly been some rather unexpected shake ups in the world of The Witcher since the second season was brought to those with a Netflix subscription on December 17, 2021. However, if you still consider yourself a diehard fan, and have now rewatched the whole series through The Witcher Season 2 ending (and even done the same with The Witcher: Blood Origin ending) in preparation for what’s next, you’ll be glad to know that new episodes are quickly approaching, and will hit the streamer before you know it.

You, like so many fans, must be very eager to get the third season of the fantasy hit into your adoring eyeballs, but you probably also have loads of questions about what comes next for Geralt, Ciri, Yennefer, and their assorted friends and foes (not to mention a what’s going on with a certain cast member). Fortunately, we do know quite a bit about what the next set of episodes will entail. So, without further ado, let’s dig into some of the things we know about The Witcher Season 3!

What Is The Witcher Season 3 Premiere Date

The flagship show in the already launched Witcher franchise will leave us waiting a bit, but not for too much longer, as it was revealed in late April 2023 that The Witcher Season 3 will premiere on June 29. This news came when the first teaser debuted, and that short clip (which I’ll talk more about a bit later) also let fans know that, unfortunately, the season will be split into two parts, with Volume 2 coming along four weeks later, on July 27. 

Season 3 Will Be Henry Cavill’s Last As Geralt Of Rivia, But The Witcher Already Has His Replacement

The April 2022 Netflix announcement that filming had begun on the season revealed via photo that stars Henry Cavill, Anya Chalotra, and Freya Allan would all reprise their roles. But, viewers were dealt a major blow not long after Season 3 wrapped production, as late October of the same year saw Cavill announce that it would be his last outing in Geralt’s armor. The star took to Instagram and not only shared his thanks for the time he was able to spend helping to bring the world to life, but formally passed the torch to his already-cast replacement, The Hunger Games star Liam Hemsworth.

This news literally sent shockwaves through the fandom, with a number of rumors springing up about why Cavill left The Witcher, when his reported dissatisfaction with the series began, and more. Fan upset culminated (very quickly) in a petition to bring the former lead back to the fantasy drama and, instead, fire the writers of the show, with many angry fans also seeming mobilized to drop both the show and Netflix should Season 4 debut without the actor as previously planned. The showrunner responded to the fallout by noting to TechRadar that his departure is “a big deal for us, too,” but as of this writing that’s done nothing to stem the tide of negative fan reactions.

For those wondering, it looks like other important players, like Joey Batey as Jaskier, will return as well. 

Robbie Amell And Three Others Have Been Added To The Cast

It was also in April 2022 that Deadline reported that Season 3 will have four new characters and cast members. Robbie Amell (Upload) will take on the part of elf soldier Gallatin, who heads up a group of guerrilla Scoia’tael fighting for Nilfgaard. He’s described as being very willing to speak his mind, and incredibly loyal to the elves, which will lead to him becoming embroiled in a power struggle with current elf leader, Francesca.

Meng’er Zhang (Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings) is set to appear as “fierce and talented huntress” Milva, a human who was adopted by Brokilon Forest’s dryad population. Milva is said to be a true survivor who makes for a very stern opponent, with those who get on her bad side doing so “at their peril.”

Meanwhile, Christelle Elwin (The Bastard Son & The Devil Himself) and Hugh Skinner (Fleabag) portray Mistle and Prince Radovid, respectively. Mistle is part of the teen gang known as The Rats, and has appropriately been hardened by her time living on the streets. She doesn’t trust others easily (if at all) and is looking for revenge when we meet her. Radovid, on the other hand, is a princely “playboy” and the younger sibling to King Vizimir, who’s actually very intelligent when it comes to politics and will soon find himself very well aligned within Redanian Intelligence.

You Can Now Watch The Trailer!

With the premiere of the upcoming season no longer that far away, we were finally granted the very first full trailer on June 8, 2023, and you can bet that “action” is, indeed, the right word for what we see. Take a look!

They’ve certainly given us enough to get fans hyped for the first half of the season, right? We hear Geralt talking about understanding “real fear” for “the first time,” watch him put his sword to good use, get glimpses of Ciri being a total badass, see Yen show off her reinstated powers, and have some good lighter moments with Jaskier. More importantly, though, we see that The Wild Hunt are, apparently, now fully on the Continent, and watch as they appear to chase the powerful princess. Sign me up for this action!

Season 3 Will See The Main Trio Hiding As Yennefer Trains Ciri

When the information about production starting was released, we also got an official synopsis for the season, which sheds a lot of light on the action to come, and says:

Wow. This just gets better, doesn’t it?

The Showrunner Says That Cavill Will Get ‘The Most Heroic Sendoff’

Late December 2022 saw showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich discuss the upcoming season with Entertainment Weekly, and while she confirmed that the third outing wasn’t originally written as Cavill’s swan song, she also said that it will serve as “the most heroic sendoff” for the actor. She added:

I think any fans who aren’t completely turned off by Cavill leaving the series will now be very excited for Season 3.

The Upcoming Season Is Based On The Fourth Witcher Book, The Time Of Contempt

Though fans know that the series has made notable changes from the books so far, the actual plot of the upcoming season isn’t purely created for the Netflix fantasy. Schmidt Hissrich wasted no time in giving fans solid info when it comes to how storylines for our main protagonists will progress, as she shared the basis for The Witcher Season 3 plot with TechRadar in December 2021:

For those who haven’t yet read any of Andrzej Sapkowski’s books, The Time of Contempt is the second full-length novel in his Witcher series and the fourth book overall. A lot happens in that story (Hint: we might see a unicorn on the show!), so we are probably in for yet another action-packed season. In fact…

The Witcher Season 3 Will Have 'Tons Of Action' Over A Short Amount Of Time

Plenty of viewers were confused by the multiple timelines used to introduce the characters and their struggles in the first season, and everyone was very happy to have our trio all in the present day (after the sacking of Cintra) during Season 2. While chatting with The Wrap about the third season in January 2022, Schmidt Hissrich noted that viewers will see “tons of action” in the next installment and that it will all happen during a relatively short period of time. After saying that she believes The Time of Contempt "is a very easily adaptable book," the showrunner continued:

The Witcher Season 3 Will Introduce The Army Of Elves And An Important Elven Location

The second season gave audiences way more elf activity than we’d had in the freshman outing, and for good reason. It turns out that Schmidt Hissrich and her team changed the story of the first full novel (Blood of Elves), on which the second season was based, because they planned to introduce an important part of the books for the third season, the army of elves (the Scoia’tael, of which Robbie Amell’s Gallatin is an important member, as mentioned above), and needed to have a proper setup for the coming story. As she explained to Polygon in December 2021:

EW got the inside scoop on the very first episode of Season 3 in December 2022, and was able to reveal that the title is “Shaerrawedd,” meaning that the episode will feature some important events from the book, Blood of Elves. The location was once an elven palace, which was destroyed by their own elders over 200 years before the events of the book. It’s also where an important scene between Ciri and Geralt happens.

The showrunner noted that the episode will “start to explain Ciri's bloodline and all of the things that are gonna happen to her that come to the surface in The Time of Contempt,” while also starting “this path to forgiveness” after Yennefer fell prey to Voleth Meir in Season 2, leading her to betray Geralt’s wishes for Ciri.

There Might Be Some Surprising Deaths Coming In Season 3

This last point is still a bit of a mystery. Before the second set of episodes had even debuted, Schmidt Hissrich came right out (during a convention covered by ComicBook in October 2021) and told fans that “some death” was coming during Season 3. The Witcher, obviously, is the kind of show where living things die all the time, and usually because they’ve been killed (R.I.P. Roach). We already know that a lot more death is coming, so her pointing it out makes it seem like a major death (or deaths) is on the way. I can think of at least one such demise from The Time of Contempt that would rock the Continent, but they could easily pull from others books or veer from what was written originally altogether to really surprise us.

Hunger Games fans, these days we’re caught in a bit of a drought as we wait for the next movie, The Ballad of Songbird and Snakes. Of course, we can always venture back into Suzanne Collins’ expansive dystopian world through the books or the movies starring Jennifer Lawrence. But why not take a deep dive and really experience Panem? Nowadays, the filming location used for Katniss’ home in District 12 is a unique tourist attraction.

The Hunger Games scenes taking place in District 12 were filmed in an abandoned mill town in North Carolina called Henry River Village. Back in 1905, a number of homes were built around a large mill, and this became a bustling small town across 75 acres. That is, until lightning (literally) struck and the large mill at the center of it was burned down. The town was completely abandoned until the Hunger Games filmmakers found it and set up production there.

Following the production of the Hunger Games movies, Henry River Village could have become the abandoned ghost town it once was, but now it’s a bit of a famous location. Calvis Reyes bought the property following the release of the sci-fi movies, and has dusted off the location into an attraction, historic museum event venue and place to stay.

Hunger Games fans who are interested in visiting the real District 12 can tour the property for $15 per person, stay a night or so at a restored cabin on the property, or book their wedding there. Henry River Village is hosting an upcoming screening of The Hunger Games where guests will be able to see the specific locations shot from the movie and see props used on set. Since the property was bought, it has been determined as a “historic district” as well.

When Calvis Reyes recently spoke to Spectrum News 1 about Henry River Village, he shared his experience with fans of Suzanne Collins’ world. In his words:

Aside from getting to be at the exact North Carolina location where Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth starred as District 12 teens, it sounds like there’s some interesting history from the town itself for guests to explore. As for the future of the Hunger Games movies, Lionsgate is currently developing a movie version of Suzanne Collins’ prequel novel The Ballad of Songbird and Snakes. Francis Lawrence, the director behind Catching Fire and the two Mockingjay movies, is attached to helm the movie.

He has reportedly been celebrating his special day with his girlfriend Gabriella Brooks and her family down in Australia, and his big brother, Avengers actor Chris Hemsworth, is letting everyone know with an adorable old photo.

Liam Hemsworth is still the baby of the family, which means he’s going to get teased a little on his big day. To share the milestone for the actor, Chris Hemsworth posted this cute photo of the pair as kids on Instagram:

The middle-child Hemsworth brother teased that the picture was taken “3 years ago today,” along with saying time has really flown by because he has not “changed a bit.” I’d say he’s changed a lot between this photo and his big-screen ventures, but from the perspective of his brother, it likely seems like they were just wearing matching polos yesterday.

Chris and Liam are seven years apart, but they look like they were the best of friends as kids via this throwback photo. They both have Westworld’s Luke Hemsworth for an elder brother, who just turned 40 in November. The younger two Hemsworth brothers may be all grown up now, but we can definitely tell them apart and see their likenesses back in the ‘90s.

Both actors live down in Byron Bay, Australia. Chris Hemsworth recently celebrated a decade with Elsa Pataky, who he has three kids wit, and Liam Hemsworth is happy with his new 22-year-old girlfriend, following an intense relationship with Miley Cyrus that started on the set of The Last Song and ended with some candid lyrics from the singer on her new album Plastic Hearts.

Liam Hemsworth is best known for his work on the four Hunger Games movies as Gale Hawthorne, Katniss’s childhood friend who gets entangled in an emerging rebellion that Katniss unknowingly helps spark. After wrapping the film series, he has gone on to star in Independence Day: Resurgence, The Duel with Woody Harrelson, and the Rebel Wilson led rom-com Isn’t It Romantic.

Chris and Liam Hemsworth have talked about finally starring together in a “big action-comedy thing,” but official plans have not moved forward on anything concrete. The Hunger Games franchise is moving forward with a prequel movie based on Suzanne Collins’ The Ballad of Songbird and Snakes. Gale Hawthorne does not have a role in the new novel, but it has sparked interest from Josh Hutcherson, who said the cast has talked about coming back for a sequel.

Miley Cyrus has returned to making music, having recently released her latest album Plastic Hearts, itself a follow-up to 2017’s Younger Now. The new album comes a little over a year after she and Liam Hemsworth filed for divorce following less than a year of marriage. At the end of her music video for the single “Prisoner” with Dua Lipa, Cyrus left an NSFW message to her exes, and the pop star recently revealed the reason behind that major insult.

To say that Miley Cyrus has been through a lot over the last few years would be putting it mildly, and there has been a lot of focus on Cyrus’ relationships with various Hollywood stars, including Kaitlynn Carter, Cody Simpson, and her on-again/off-again romance with Liam Hemsworth. The singer left a message at the end of the music video for “Prisoner” that reads, “In loving memory of my exes: eat shit," which definitely sparked conversations among fans. Here’s what Cyrus told Australia’s The Project about why she included that statement:

That end-of-video message is scrawled in bright pink letters outlined in red, while the “eat shit” portion of the statement sits in the middle of a heart made out of red barbed wire. I don’t know that I’d necessarily call it campy, but the image certainly leaves a strong impression. I can’t say for certain, but the message seems to imply that Miley Cyrus is no longer a prisoner of her exes’ love or any other emotions.

“Prisoner” isn’t the only song on Miley Cyrus’ new album that includes a message to her exes. The single “Midnight Sky” was also inspired by her exes, and a press release for the album reveals that the song drew influence from the last year of Cyrus’ life, which seems to imply that it’s at least about Liam Hemsworth and Kaitlynn Carter, if not also Cody Simpson, whom Cyrus broke up with in August.

More recently, Miley Cyrus revealed that she had experimented heavily with drugs and alcohol while she was still with Liam Hemsworth. Although the singer didn’t offer very many specifics, the whole ordeal sounded pretty intense. While Cyrus maintained sobriety throughout her relationship with Cody Simpson, she admitted to having a setback while quarantining earlier this year, but confirmed that she is now sober once again.

Now, Cyrus has opened up about how bad things got for her during her time being married to Hemsworth, and has spoken about her intense drug use while they were together.

Liam Hemsworth filed for divorce from Miley Cyrus in August of 2019, and cited irreconcilable differences as the cause. Cyrus has alluded to several of the issues in her marriage through her music, but, lately, she's been opening up even more. She's now done an interview with Rolling Stone for the release of her latest album, Plastic Hearts, and when asked why she decided not to tour after her album Younger Now was released in 2017, said:

Ooooh, man. Intense stuff, right? While we'll never know the full story of what went on between Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth while they were married (and why), it's clear that neither of them got what they were hoping to get from the marriage. And, Cyrus seems to be saying that there was a lot of pressure to be and do things that were not true to the spirit of who she really is, which may have led to a serious increase in her drug and alcohol use, as well as surrounding herself with people who were not the best to be around.

Cyrus has gotten a lot of flack over the years since breaking out of her Hannah Montana mold, especially for being open with her sexuality and seeming like a wild child who can't be tamed. I doubt anyone who was alive when she appeared on stage at the MTV VMA's in 2013 could forget the firestorm that erupted over her new look and (seemingly) new attitude. So, it would make sense that Cyrus may have felt even worse for seeming to change herself the way many may have wanted, while "playing house" and appearing to live "some fairy tale" when her life was anything but.

When asked to clarify that she was, in fact, ramping up her drug and alcohol consumption while back in a relationship with Liam Hemsworth, Cyrus said:

Miley Cyrus makes a very good point when bringing up how we often equate the way someone chooses to dress or style themselves to whether or not they're sane or going through a hard time. After several years of dressing in ways that many of us would deem odd, once Cyrus and Hemsworth got back together, she began to present as more of a typical pop star. It was closer to what people had known of her during her Hannah Montana days, and so, to a lot of folks, it meant that she seemed "normal."

Cyrus also notes that she had to get serious about her sobriety so that she can always have access to her full potential, especially because it sounds like she's not someone who's really capable of taking it easy when it comes to drugs or alcohol. So, it seems like she's in a much better place now than she was when she was with Hemsworth, brand new mullet and boobie-flashing photo shoot be damned.

Brothers, and any combination of siblings for that matter, know a good opportunity for mischief. Jennifer Lawrence (Katniss Everdeen)

In the central role of Katniss Everdeen, Jennifer Lawrence served as the central protagonist of The Hunger Games franchise. Josh Hutcherson (Peeta Mellark)

In the role of Peeta Mellark, Josh Hutcherson served as one of the central characters in The Hunger Games, particularly when he became a potential love interest for Katniss Everdeen. A former child actor who has been working on the screen for the majority of his life, Hutcherson has appeared in a few other projects since The Hunger Games concluded. Notably, Hutcherson has appeared in The Disaster Artist and Tragedy Girls, and he plays the lead role in the Hulu sci-fi comedy series, Future Man. In 2015, she made her feature directorial debut with Pitch Perfect 2. Last year, she wrote and directed the newest Charlie's Angels reboot. Up next, Banks appears in the new Hulu mini-series, Mrs. America. She's also attached to the drama Signal Hill, and has a few directorial projects in store, including Invisible Woman.

Donald Sutherland (President Coriolanus Snow)

As the menacing President Coriolanus Snow, Donald Sutherland played a menacing part in The Hunger Games series. Outside of this villainous role, he has worked consistently in film and on television. His most recent roles include Ad Astra and The Burnt Orange Heresy. He'll next be seen in the thriller Alone, and he's got two TV roles lined up with HBO's The Undoing and Swimming with Sharks, which is based on the 1994 movie of the same name.

Stanley Tucci (Caesar Flickerman)

As Ceaser Flickerman, Stanley Tucci served as a colorful supporting character throughout The Hunger Games saga. A refined, Oscar-nominated actor with years of experience on the stage and screen, Tucci is a dynamite actor, and he continues to excel. Most recently, he was seen in Limetown. He'll next be seen in Worth, opposite Michael Keaton, and he'll appear in The King's Man, The Witches, Jolt, Supernova, and a few more upcoming projects.

Willow Shields (Primose Everdeen)

As Primose Everdeen, the younger sister of Katniss, Willow Shields played a key role throughout The Hunger Games series. Making her feature debut in the original film, Shields continues to work primarily on the small screen, notably with roles in The Unsettling and Netflix's Spinning Out. She'll next be seen in two upcoming movies, When Time Got Louder and A Fall From Grace, both of which are expected to come out sometime within the next year.

Paula Malcomson (Mrs. Everdeen)

As the concerned mother of Katniss, Paula Malcomson played an emotional role in The Hunger Games franchise, particularly in the early installments. Also known as Paula Williams, the actress has bounced between film and television since The Hunger Games, though her television roles are notable, including Ray Donovan, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and Krypton. She was last seen in Deadwood: The Movie and HBO's Watchmen last year.

Lenny Kravitz (Cinna)

As Cinna, Katniss' stylist, Lenny Kravitz's character played a major role in the rise to prominence seen by our central protagonist. Primarily a musician, Kravitz hasn't appeared in too many projects as an actor since The Hunger Games outside of brief appearances in FX's Better Things and Fox's Star. As a musician, Kravitz continues to perform, particularly when he appeared during the Super Bowl halftime show in 2015 alongside Katy Perry. More recently, Kravitz released his 11th studio album, Raise Vibrations, and toured the album in 2018. In an interview with Rolling Stone that year, Kravitz mentioned that he was already working on his follow-up to this studio album, and that it might serve as a companion piece to a future film project.

Sam Claflin (Finnick Odair)

As Finnick Odair, Sam Claflin was seen prominently throughout The Hunger Games sequels, notably Catching Fire. Since his time in the franchise, the young actor has split his time on the big and small screen, appearing The Huntsman: Winter's War, Me Before You, Adrift, Peaky Blinders, Charlie's Angels, and a particularly menacing role in The Nightingale, most recently. Jena Malone (Johanna Mason)

As Annie Creta, Stef Dawson played a key role in The Hunger Games sequels as Annie. Since her time in these gigantic blockbusters, Dawson has opted to make primarily indie movies, though her latest film was the sci-fi thriller The Dustwalker, which was released last year. She'll next appear in the crime drama thriller, 10-13.

Julianne Moore (President Alma Coin)

Though she was only seen in the last two installments, Julianne Moore played a key part in the Hunger Games' final moments. Introduced in the final two installments of The Hunger Games series, Natalie Dormer's Cressida was a distinctive figure towards the end of the saga. Outside of The Hunger Games, Dormer has been seen or heard in several prominent TV shows lately, including Game of Thrones, Picnic at Hanging Rock, and The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance. Up next, Dormer will play a major part in the upcoming spin-off series, Penny Dreadful: City of Angels.

Wes Bentley (Seneca Crane)

As the Head Gamemaker in the 74th Hunger Games, Seneca Crane, played by Wes Bentley, served as a small-but-distinctive person in The Hunger Games (notably for his extravagantly strange facial hair). Since his time in the franchise starter, he has been seen in a number of prominent movies and TV shows, including Interstellar, Mission: Impossible — Fallout, and American Horror Story: Roanoke. Bentley can currently be seen on Yellowstone.

Mahershala Ali (Boggs)

Shortly before he became a multi-award winning actor, Mahershala Ali played Boggs, a key role in the final two Hunger Games movies. Since then, Ali has won two Oscars for Best Supporting Actor in 2016's Moonlight and 2018's Green Book, respectively. Chris Hemsworth – Height: 6’3’’

As Thor, the mighty God of Thunder and son of Odin, Chris Hemsworth has delighted fans around the world with his demigod powers and quick wit throughout the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Coming in at 6 feet and 3 inches tall, height-wise, his stature certainly fits that of an Asgardian. Interestingly enough, his height is something that he’s actually lied about in the past.

As it turns out, Chris Hemsworth has actually lied about his height in order to get more roles. Even funnier, he has said in the past that he's told casting people he's shorter, not taller, when trying to book parts. Best known as Gale Hawthorne, one of the two would-be suitors for the hand of the revolutionary Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games franchise, Liam Hemsworth is in a surprising position when it comes to his comparative height in the family. While he may be the youngest brother, he’s just as tall as his older brother, Chris, clocking in at 6 feet and 3 inches.

You can imagine the jokes that must fly between Liam Hemsworth and Chris Hemsworth, as I can just imaging them trying to squeeze in every millimeter they can to claim they, indeed are the tallest. Though, as far as Liam Hemsworth is concerned, he hasn’t made any remarks about having to lie about his height to get a part. If they don't joke about height, though, you at least have to guess Liam must joke about how without him, Chris might not have gotten the lead role in Thor.

The oldest of the Hemsworth family of sons, Luke Hemsworth is actually the shortest of the three celebrity brothers.
