It’s been a little over twenty years since The Amazing Race won the first Emmy for Outstanding Reality-Competition Program, and in the time since, the Television Academy has steadily added more awards to honor the great work being done in the reality space. Given the popularity and staying power of the genre, those honors have been well deserved, but there’s still one huge omission the Television Academy needs to fix.

Producers, hosts, casting departments, cinematographers, costume designers and more working professionals are now eligible to win dedicated categories, but the actual people we tune into these shows to watch still aren’t eligible to win anything at the Emmys. That’s a problem, and it’s also a huge missed opportunity. We need a category that’s for Best Reality Competition Contestant And/ Or Cast Member, and we need it as soon as possible.

Imagine an alternate universe in which Survivor legends like Boston Rob, Parvati Shallow, Sandra Diaz-Twine and Cirie Fields were Emmy nominees or even winners. Imagine a world in which Big Brother favorites like Rachel Reilly, Dan Gheesling and Taylor Hale could brag forever about being recognized by the Academy. Imagine if standouts from Drag Race, Top Chef, Amazing Race, American Idol, Love Island, The Traitors and other competitions were eligible to do more than just win the show.

And that’s doubly true for the stars of more traditional reality shows. The Real Housewives are the most obvious example. Nene Leakes, Lisa Vanderpump, Teresa Giudice and so many others have turned millions of people into passionate and dedicated fans. They’re fantastic at what they do and deserve the chance to be honored in the same way as the stars of more traditional scripted shows. How much drama and intrigue and fun would have been created by some of these women being put head-to-head in the same Emmy category? I’d watch a multiple episode arc of that every season.

I’m sure there are any number of practical reasons why this hasn’t happened. I’m sure there are issues with union vs non union performers. I’m sure there are issues with feeling like these personalities are supposed to be “real people” and not professionals working on a show. I’m sure it would be awkward for voters to try and figure out how to compare Tom Sandoval to Rick Devens and Bob The Drag Queen.

I get that it’s complicated, but the Emmys are about honoring people doing great work in television. Clearly, the Television Academy has decided the reality genre is worth celebrating and is here to stay. I agree. Now it’s time to start celebrating the actual people we’re watching each season. With all due respect to hosts, it’s the actual contestants who make or break a season. Assumedly, that’s why, back in 2017, the Academy officially added Outstanding Casting For A Reality Program. Now it’s time to do the same for the contestants and cast members.

If it were up to me, I’d add four categories and do Best Male Star In A Reality Show, Best Female Star In A Reality Show, Best Male Competitor In A Competition Show and Best Female Competitor In A Competition Show. Honestly though, I’d settle for just one that more generally honors the stars in the entire Reality-Competition space. They’ve collectively earned their moment. Now it’s time we give it to them.

The Traitors is arguably one of the best reality shows ever, and in just a few years it's become a wildly popular, Emmy-winning success. Those with a Peacock subscription are anxiously awaiting the forthcoming premiere of Season 4, but it turns out that a major Bravo celebrity is already lined up to join the fun in the fifth season. And honestly, it's some incredile casting.

The Traitors Season 4 has a killer cast, including favorites from the Real Housewives, Survivor, and more. I didn't expect chatter about Season 5's cast to start so early, but a rumor shared by Deuxmoi claims that none other than Lisa Vanderpump will be joining Alan Cumming in Scotland next year. As the source put it:

Talk about a gag. LVP is reality TV royalty, thanks to her tenure on both The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and her spinoff Vanderpump Rules. And while she's not a Housewife I wanted on The Traitors, I can't deny that she'd make incredible TV. What's more, she might be used to a world full of deceit thanks to her time on RHOBH.

We should probably take this report with a grain of salt, given that we haven't even gotten into Season 4 of The Traitors just yet. But the casting department clearly knows their stuff, and it's hard to deny that Vanderpump would be great on the competition series. We'll just have to wait and see if this report actually comes to fruition.

The Housewives had had a strong presence in The Traitors since Season 2, to varying levels of success. Atlanta's Phaedra Parks was endlessly quotable during her time in the Castle, while Shereé Whitfield seemed kinda lost. The women were methodically eliminated in Season 3 until just Dolores Catania was left. And while she did end up winning the game, Dolores' gameplay left something to be desired. If she doesn't end up getting murdered, I'm inclined to think that Lisa Vanderpump would be quite astute at the round table. But only time will tell if she's even going to be on the show.

Lisa Vanderpump might be best known for time on RHOBH, but she's done a variety of reality shows including a bunch of spinoffs, Dancing with the Stars, and Trixie Motel. She seems like a natural fit for The Traitors, especially considering how many iconic Housewives have gotten to play the game. Her former cast mate Lisa Rinna is on Season 4, and spoke about how difficult it was to get through some of the physical challenges.

We'll have to wait and see if news about LVP on The Traitors ends up confirmed. First up is Season 4, which is expected to arrive in January as part of the 2026 TV schedule. Hopefully we get the latest UK season on Peacock soon.

I am a devoted Gordon Ramsay reality TV shows fan. His cooking competition shows are some of my favorite reality TV programs. They’re the best cooking shows to watch when you want to relax and watch people stress about cooking. Ramsay’s no-nonsense approach and charisma make these shows appealing. However, adding Lisa Vanderpump to Gordon Ramsay’s Food Stars demonstrates that sometimes a TV series needs a little more than just the Ramsay appeal.

Gordon Ramsay’s Food Stars is one of Fox and Ramsay’s latest collaborations. The series involves several contestants in the food and drink industry competing to have Ramsay invest in their business. Each week, they have challenges to prove they have enough business savvy to deserve an investment. Every week, Ramsay eliminates a contestant.  

A version of the series originally debuted in the UK in 2022. It was called Gordon Ramsay's Future Food Stars. It aired for two seasons. There is also an Australian version called Gordon Ramsay's Food Stars Australia. The first season only involved Ramsay as mentor and judge, but Season 2 got a bit of a makeover with Lisa Vanderpump joining the series. It is the show’s best decision yet.  

Lisa Vanderpump And Gordon Ramsay Have Great Co-hosting Chemistry

Gordon Ramsay’s Food Stars is probably one of my least favorite Ramsay shows. And I think that’s because the first season was a bit boring. I don’t need Ramsay to scream at contestants to enjoy them. In fact, MasterChef and Next Level Chef are my favorite Ramsay shows. He yells occasionally in them, but it’s not the screaming Ramsay that people most associate with the celebrity chef. 

Gordon Ramsay’s Food Stars wasn’t boring because it didn’t have intense Ramsay. It was just missing something. Vanderpump became that missing piece. Ramsay has a personality that shines best when he can bounce off of someone else. We’ve seen that with his various Masterchef co-hosts. This part of his film persona really stands out in Next Level Chef with Nyesha Arrington and Richard Blais.

Vanderpump and Ramsay bring a new type of co-hosting chemistry that we haven’t seen in his previous series. It’s playful but also has an undertone of extreme competitiveness. Ramsay and Vanderpump probably don’t care much about who wins because it’s a reality TV show that likely doesn’t improve or hinder their lives. They are there to entertain most of all. However, the series convinces you that both hosts really want to win for the glory of it.

Blais and Arrington would enjoy winning but neither have that “I must beat Gordon” attitude (fake or real) that Vanderpump brings to the competition. It's entertaining that she may want the win just to say she beat Gordon Ramsay.

It Adds A Fun Element To Gordon Ramsay’s Food Stars 

In Gordon Ramsay’s Food Stars Season 1, it was all about the competitors going against each other for the grand prize. Season 2 makes it not just about them but about Ramsay and Vanderpump going against each other. It adds an extra layer of competition that makes the show more fun.

It also makes Ramsay and Vanderpump more invested in their teams winning. The contestants on Gordon Ramsay’s Food Stars Season 2 are somewhat interesting. However, I must admit, I am more invested in the Ramsay vs. Vanderpump competition. It has no real stakes but the winner can pretend it proves they are better at running businesses.

Gordon Ramsay and Lisa Vanderpump have built empires with various businesses and within the show business space. Their success ties directly into the appeal of their on-screen personalities. That’s why this battle between them is so interesting. It’s a battle of TV titans. 

Vanderpump Brings Some Chaos To The Show 

I love reality TV competition shows but I don’t often watch lifestyle-based reality TV. Despite them being considered some of the best reality TV shows ever created, I don’t watch The Real Housewives franchise, Vanerpump Rules, and other Lisa Vanderpump spin-off shows. Therefore, I had no prior knowledge of her personality. 

However, she immediately brought chaos to the Season 2 premiere of Gordon Ramsay’s Food Stars. Vanderpump was funny, charming, and unpredictable. Even when Ramsay is being chaotic, it feels more rehearsed and planned. Even if Vanderpump is just acting, her brand of chaos feels more spontaneous and unpredictable. It adds a tiny bit of unhinged energy to this Fox reality TV show. 

My unfamiliarity with Vanderpump makes me more intrigued to see the dynamic she brings to Gordon Ramsay’s Food Stars, and how that blends with Ramsay long term. 

It Helps Food Stars Stand Out From Other Ramsay Series 

Gordon Ramsay’s Food Stars isn’t quite like the many other Fox Ramsay shows because it blends competition TV shows with docuseries. It’s less like Hell’s Kitchen and more like The Profit and other business-type reality TV.

Some of the changes in Season 2 make the show feel like it has found its identity. Season 1 and Season 2 have the same premise but minor changes, including adding Lisa Vanderpump, help shape the show into a competitive TV show that also offers some insight into running a business, and the things that come with that, like marketing, branding, and product development. 

You understand this idea more by seeing the contrasting business approaches of Ramsay and Vanderpump. 

It Opens The Door For Different Co-hosts In Future Seasons 

I would gladly watch Lisa Vanderpump become Gordon Ramsay’s permanent co-host on Gordon Ramsay’s Food Stars. However, I also wouldn’t mind the idea of a different co-host each season, or getting even more chaotic by adding a third co-host. 

Vanderpump is great and I love her dynamic with Ramsay, but I am also curious to see his dynamic with other new co-hosts. Additionally, I would love to see other reality TV show titans compete against him in Food Stars.  Adding Vanderpump showed me how refreshing it is to see someone new, but a reality TV all-star, enter the world of Ramsay competition shows. 

I wouldn’t go as far as to call Gordon Ramsay’s Food Stars an underrated cooking show, but it may get there if Vanderpump continues to add a refreshing twist to the series. 

Lisa Vanderpump might not be a Real Housewives star anymore, but that doesn’t mean she’s stepped away from the reality TV spotlight. The restauranteur and producer had a successful 2023, with Bravo's Vanderpump Rules becoming one of  the most-watched reality shows of the year. That's in great part due to the “Scandavol” cheating drama. While the hit Bravo show is slated to return at the end of January, there’s a brand-new dramatic show in the works, Vanderpump Villa, and the trailer is giving off major Below Deck vibes.  

Making her Hulu debut, Lisa Vanderpump will appear and produce the new reality series, which will be released in Spring 2024. The series takes place in France and features a group of beautiful and talented young people, who were “hand-selected” for their jobs based on their past professional achievements. Now, the staff will have to live and work together as they tend to various guests who book stays at Chateau Rosabelle. Lucky for us, we don’t have to wonder what kind of drama is going to go down since the streamer released the aforementioned teaser trailer, which can be viewed above.

The teaser might only be a little over a minute long, but I got all I needed to know from it. As a reality TV connoisseur, the new series seems to be a hybrid of two of my favorite Bravo reality shows: Vanderpump Rules and Below Deck. With that, I can’t wait for it to release. 

For those that aren’t familiar with the former, Below Deck is a reality show that follows the crew members aboard luxury yachts as they ensure the demanding clients that book the vacations have a good time. It seems like Vanderpump Villa is following a similar structure, as the cast members will be tasked with feeding and taking care of the wealthy clients who stop by the luxury vacation destination, all while staying at the villa themselves. 

If Below Deck has taught me anything, it’s that keeping your employees in close quarters while also requiring them to work with intense clients is never a good thing. Vanderpump Rules already had enough interpersonal and relationship drama, and the group of servers never even lived together in one place. So I can’t imagine the chaos that’s going to go down at the villa. (Hopefully, it won't lead to misconduct allegations like on Below Deck, which Captain Lee derided.) 

Perhaps, things won’t be quite as bad as the sailing series since a Chateau Rosabelle is a bit roomier than the crew quarters of a yacht, but there will definitely be drama. After all, mixing attractive young people, alcohol and high-stress situations is a recipe for drama. 

The former Real Housewives star has a high threshold for shenanigans and an innate ability to forgive past mistakes as evidenced by her willingness to bring back VR alums. However, one thing she does not put up with is unprofessionalism that affects her enterprises. I’m certain that the cast will be getting scolded more than once as they embark on this life changing journey. 

It’s going to be hard to top the “Scandoval” drama that led Vanderpump Rules to become one of the best reality shows of 2023, but I have no doubt this new show is going to try. Reality TV fans better make sure they have active Hulu subscriptions, because you’re not going to want to miss this one or any of the other new and coming soon shows headed to Hulu in 2024. 

Lisa Vanderpump — The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum whose Bravo spinoff has been in all the headlines lately for the titillating Scandoval cheating brouhaha — seems to be involved in a bit of drama herself, surrounding the soon-to-be-shuttered Pump. Early in May, the restaurateur announced she’d be closing the West Hollywood eatery and expanding her offerings in Las Vegas, but new court documents suggest it might not be that simple, as she apparently faces a lawsuit over unpaid liability insurance.

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Employer’s Compensation Insurance Company is suing Lisa Vanderpump and her husband Kenneth Todd for unpaid insurance premiums from Pump — not to be confused with Sur, the setting of many of Vanderpump Rules’ happenings —  after an audit showed a discrepancy of hundreds of thousands of dollars from the information provided by the restaurant. 

The insurance company initially filed a lawsuit against P.U.M.P. LLC a year ago regarding a policy they’d provided the restaurant from May 9, 2019 to May 9, 2020. The court decided on October 3, 2022, that Lisa Vanderpump’s restaurant owed Employer’s Compensation Insurance Company $338,656.43 plus $92.75 in interest per day going forward. In documents filed earlier this month, the company asked for Pump to satisfy that judgment. 

It seems the impending closure of Pump will not get Lisa Vanderpump out of paying what the court has said she owes in liability insurance. The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member announced May 4 that Pump would be closing its doors after 10 years of service in West Hollywood. In a statement to on Pump’s Instagram page, the Bravo star wrote: 

Lisa Vanderpump’s statement went on to blame the decision on rising rent costs, saying that to take on another 10-year lease with such a “huge increase” in rent would be “untenable.” However, Pump’s landlord responded promptly with a statement (via Deadline) that disputed the restaurateur’s claims. The landlord stated: 

The Vanderpump Rules star — like so many businesses following the pandemic — seemed to struggle after her restaurants were closed and production shut down on her show in 2020. In 2021 she faced a lawsuit from produce distributor West Central Produce, which alleged she hadn’t made a payment from her restaurants since March of 2020 and owed more than $100,000.

Whatever the reasons for the closing of this chapter in Lisa Vanderpump’s career, new things are afoot for the family, as her Instagram post spoke of two more eateries to come. She continued:

The Bravo star already has two restaurants in Las Vegas — the Vanderpump Cocktail Garden in Caesars Palace and Vanderpump à Paris located in the Paris Las Vegas casino hotel.

Vanderpump Rules has always been known to deliver the drama to its loyal Bravo audience in its decade on the air, but Tom Sandoval and Raquel Leviss’ scandal took things to a whole new level. Back in March it was revealed that Sandoval had been cheating on Ariana Madix, his partner of nine years, with castmate Raquel Leviss. Rifts were formed amongst the cast as the news went viral, and an alleged physical assault against Leviss led to her getting a restraining order against Scheana Shay. That only added to the “intense” atmosphere at the Season 10 reunion, Lisa Vanderpump said, as she compared the messy situation to the classic sitcom Friends.

Emotions have been running high in recent weeks regarding Tom Sandoval and Raquel Leviss' entanglement, aka Scandoval. Both members have apologized to Ariana Madix, after it was proven Sandoval had been cheating with his co-star for months. Restaurateur Lisa Vanderpump told Variety she was “basically having a bloody heart attack” when she found out, and she put the scandal into the context of another popular TV show, saying: 

Lisa Vanderpump’s comparison shows just how unexpected the scandal was, because Phoebe and Chandler together would have been wrong on so many levels, especially with the latter married to Monica in later seasons. Another aspect that made the Vanderpump Rules stars' relationship so surprising was that it came after it was rumored that Raquel Leviss had kissed Tom Sandoval’s best friend Tom Schwartz last fall. 

Filming for Vanderpump Rules Season 10 had already wrapped before the relationship was exposed, but things apparently threatened to go off the rails when the cast members reunited for the first time since the scandal broke to tape the reunion show. Lisa Vanderpump teased: 

Complicating the filming of the reunion was the fact that Raquel Leviss had a restraining order against Scheana Shay for an alleged physical incident that is said to have taken place in the aftermath of Scandoval breaking. Lisa Vanderpump said she thinks Shay "kind of slapped [her] around the face,” noting that she didn't condone the reaction.

The two reality stars having to stay 100 yards from each other during the reunion's filming caused the producers to get creative with two spearate seating charts. Raquel Leviss and Scheana Shay reportedly took turns on stage with their castmates, as the other watched a live feed from their trailer, to ensure there was a 100-yard distance kept between them.

That reunion will likely be appointment viewing when it airs, but for now you can continue to watch Vanderpump Rules in its 10th season at 9 p.m. ET Wednesdays on Bravo, and you can catch up on every episode that has aired so far with a Peacock Premium subscription.

A number of other reality TV vets have been weighing in, and Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Teddi Mellencamp has become one of the latest to do so. The Bravo alum didn’t mince words, as she accused former RHOBH co-star Vanderpump of orchestrating the scandal. Mellencamp also thinks pregnancy news is on the horizon. 

Teddi Mellencamp Spoke About Tom Sandoval, Raquel Leviss And Lisa Vanderpump

It’s not too surprising that Teddi Mellencamp would have a take on the drama, especially given her history with Lisa Vanderpump. Mellencamp, 41, appeared on fellow Real Housewives star Melissa Gorga’s On Display podcast. During the interview (which was recorded before Vanderpump spoke out on Watch What Happens Live) Mellencamp made bold accusations against the media personality and business owner. She opined that Vanderpump – who hadn’t appeared on WWHL in some time – was only doing the show because “nobody’s cared until now.” Mellencamp also asserted that her former co-star “probably paid Raquel [Leviss] to do this.”

In addition, the star – who once appeared on Vanderpump Rules – went on to “guarantee” that Raquel Leviss will be “engaged and pregnant within a year from now,” adding that she’ll also be “thriving.” In her estimation: 

Teddi Mellencamp further suggested that Lisa Vanderpump would be sympathetic towards Tom Sandovval when she appeared on WWHL because she “always takes the men’s side.” Mellencamp imitated the famous British restaurateur in order to simulate how she might weigh in on the “Scandoval”: 

When it comes to the notion of the star supposedly initiating the affair, Tamara Judge, stated that Vanderpump Rules is “skyrocketing right now” when it comes to ratings. Judge also suggested that the titular star only wants the best for her cast. However, Teddi Mellencamp believes the Brit “wants the best for herself, as I would as well.”

What Did Lisa Vanderpump Say On Watch What Happens Live?

When she ultimately appeared on Watch What Happens Live, Lisa Vanderpump dropped diplomatic thoughts on the cheating scandal. She asserted that both Tom Sandoval and Raquel Leviss deserve “equal” blame, because “it takes two to tango, and they’ve been tangoing.” Though she also said that “it’s not like [Sandoval or Leviss] murdered anyone,” arguing that infidelity is quite common within society. She added (via Page Six): 

Tom Sandoval initially apologized to his business partners for the negative attention he’s brought to them before attempting to make amends with Ariana Madix. Raquel Leviss spoke out about her actions as well, expressing remorse for how things went down. Madix has yet to speak out publicly about the situation, though sources say she was taken by surprise. It seems that there will continue to be significant ripple effects from this ordeal in the immediate future. And given how hot the gossip is, don’t be surprised if others join Teddi Mellencamp in dropping major claims on the matter.

Lisa Vanderpump may have left behind the days of drama and drunk cast trips for good when she quit the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills back in 2019. But it seems the reality series isn’t quite done with her or bringing bringing her name up just yet, whether she likes it or not. The 61-year-old talked about giving fellow RHOBH alum Garcelle Beauvais’ son a job and whether it was a good decision in the long run.

We first learned about the surprising job employment during the currently-running twelfth season of RHOBH. Garcelle Beauvais revealed to the group that her son, 31-year-old Oliver Saunders, got a gig with their former frenemy, which led to some hilariously shady responses on their end. Lisa Vanderpump shared her side of the story to Entertainment Tonight and, as it turns out, it was a favor to the relative newbie to the franchise:

As Bravo fans know all too well, Lisa Vanderpump and her husband, Ken, own several restaurants in the greater L.A. area. Those locations, to include the legally embattled Pump and Sur restaurants, have been documented at length on the spinoff series Vanderpump Rules (which airs on the same network). However, the reality TV queen opened up her first Las Vegas joint, the Vanderpump Cocktail Garden, at Caesars Palace in 2019. And this past April, Vanderpump à Paris opened as well, and it's apparently where Garcelle Beauvais’ son is currently working. Vanderpump told the outlet:

Truth be told, though, this might’ve been a whole different story (or should we say “storyline”?) if Garcelle Beauvais had been part of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills at the same time as Lisa Vanderpump. The latter, in fact, had an infamous falling-out with all of her castmates that concerned a dog adopted by Dorit Kemsley back in the day. To make a long story short, Vanderpump was accused of talking to the press and recruiting some ladies to do the dirty work of painting Kemsley in a bad light. It even resulted in the dissolution of her longtime friendship with Kyle Richards.

Their feud continued to live on in the wake of Lisa Vanderpump’s exit from RHOBH. Something about a “new nose” comment… In addition, the former star had also gotten into a dine-and-dash debacle with a different franchise alum altogether. And last year, Vanderpump had some seriously shady thoughts about the RHOBH cast keeping quiet on the show about Erika Jayne’s legal troubles.

Like I said, she’s gone but obviously not totally ready to hang up the Bravo antics for good. Still, Garcelle Beauvais’ son working for her makes one think that perhaps the restaurateur has softened somewhat since becoming a grandmother (who doesn't mind coming up with cute names for her grandkid) in the interim? It also makes one wonder if Beauvais' son -- who famously incited a drunken Erika Jayne to offer him and his wife a threesome on RHOBHI -- might be headlining the recently greenlit tenth season of Vanderpump Rules at some point…

Amidst the pandemic and rise of the BLM protests in 2020, controversy arose concerning several among the Vanderpump Rules cast. Longtime alums Stassi Schroeder and Kristen Doute were fired by the Bravo network at the time, after their former co-star, Faith Stowers, came forward about how they called the police on her over a fake incident. Then, newcomers Max Boyens and Brett Caprioni were axed from the show due to the discovery of racial slurs on their social media. It’s been two years since all of that transpired, and matriarch Lisa Vanderpump has shared some honest thoughts on possibly bringing those controversial stars back into the fold for the potential tenth season.

In the months following the dismissals, Lisa Vanderpump had in fact vocalized her desire for the stars to be given a second chance. She said that Bravo had been “reactive” and that she would’ve preferred to watch the 30-somethings work out their misdeeds on-camera. Speaking to Entertainment Tonight more recently, the Vanderpump Rules executive producer continued to stand firm in those views. She said:

Interestingly, some rumors surfaced back in March, alleging that Stassi Schroeder was returning to the show. Neither she nor Bravo have confirmed the speculation, but it doesn’t seem altogether likely. The network has been embroiled in racial controversies on a number of fronts, including for The Real Housewives of New York and Below Deck. What's more is that NBCUniversal, Bravo and others are now being sued by NeNe Leakes, who alleges that there was a workplace culture of discriminatory practices during her time on RHOA. So the idea of Schroeder and other contentious castmates coming back at this time wouldn’t look good, to say the least.

Regardless, though, Vanderpump Rules has yet to even be greenlit for another season. Bravo has been busy making structural changes across the board, including the cancellation of Shahs of Sunset after nine seasons and retooling the lineup for RHNY. However, Lisa Vanderpump seems to think her namesake show still has more to offer. She told the outlet:

Truth be told, there are a lot of storylines to work with for a potential tenth season. Namely, the remaining alums have been rocked by one major breakup after another in the off-season. Both the DJ James Kennedy/Raquel Leviss and Lala Kent/Randall Emmett engagements are off. Not to mention, Katie Maloney and Tom Schwartz are divorcing after nearly three years of marriage and 12 years total of being together.

I, for one, would be interested in seeing how Katie Maloney and Tom Schwartz’s awkward living situation fares post-divorce, as well as how it all might affect their longstanding friendships as a group. But like I said, Stassi Schroeder et al probably won’t see a Vanderpump Rules return anytime soon – no matter if Lisa Vanderpump is in their corner to this day. While we await news of a renewal, fans can check out old seasons of the reality series with Peacock Premium.

Bravo reunions are, quite simply, a beautiful sight to behold. Whether it's Shahs of Sunset arguments or Below Deck revelations or Real Housewives catfights, the reunions tend to deliver even more drama as they rehash the ups and downs of a season. (Case in point: RHBH’s sit-down that dug deep into Erika Jayne’s legal problems.) It will likely be no different for Vanderpump Rules, which is still in the throes of airing its Season 9 mishaps. The upcoming reunion already wrapped filming, and matriarch Lisa Vanderpump decided to drop one of her signature raunchy jokes on Andy Cohen whilst promoting it.

In fact, the dirty joke in question came right on the reunion set. Andy Cohen pulled Lisa Vanderpump aside amidst filming for a quick teaser video. The reality TV queen said it was “so much fun” but also lamented how she hadn't been on Cohen's talk show Watch What Happens Live in a while. Cohen harmlessly joked that she was blowing him off and, without batting an eye, Vanderpump quipped, “You wish.” I can't be sure, but it seems Cohen might not have caught the double entendre there. Leave it to the restaurateur to still have the risqué British jokes on deck – even as a newly minted grandmother. The Bravo veteran also has some harsher jabs left in her for her former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills co-stars. She joked in a recent episode of Vanderpump Rules that her ex-BFF, Kyle Richards, is probably down in her basement somewhere. (Richards has likewise mimicked the iconic “Goodbye, Kyle!” line on the Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip crossover special.)

Beyond the teaser, it would seem to fans that there is a lot to discuss at the reunion. Andy Cohen will most likely have to address the huge elephant in the room of the absence of several ousted alums, as well as Raquel Leviss and James Kennedy breaking off their “Rachella” engagement that was filmed for the show. (Speculation has it that it was Leviss who wanted to go in a new direction.) We also kind of need more explanations concerning newcomer Brock Davies and his previous family situation.

Main castmate Lala Kent has teased that the reunion was not a good experience for her. Apparently, her co-stars leaned heavily into the comments she has made in recent weeks, and they didn't seem to havve much sympathy for her breakup with fiancé Randall Emmett. (The Midnight in the Switchgrass director and producer had allegedly cheated on the reality star with multiple women, prompting the split.) Kent has been raising their 8-month-old daughter solo and rebranding ever since. The reunion allegedly gets so intense, in fact, that the longtime alum ruminated that she might not return for Season 10.

On the latest episode of Vanderpump Rules, DJ James Kennedy popped the question to his girlfriend of five years, Raquel Leviss. They had already announced it on social media, but fans didn’t yet know how it all went down. True to his form, it was a big production, formerly called “Rachella,” that took place at the actual Coachella campground, with a lot of bells and whistles and fireworks. And apparently, the show’s matriarch, Lisa Vanderpump, actually had helped Kennedy with his proposal beforehand.

They've had a rocky relationship over the years, with Lisa Vanderpump constantly firing and rehiring James Kennedy at her L.A. restaurants. However, Kennedy has practically said on the show that he sees Vanderpump more like a second mom figure, which his own mother has even echoed on the series. So it's no surprise that his proposal to his co-star Raquel Leviss needed to pass by her first. While on E! News' Daily Pop, Kennedy shared:

I doubt that the always elegant restauranteur had a Coachella-themed marriage proposal in mind for her second son. But James Kennedy is known to not do everything exactly as Vanderpump says to. As was seen in a previous episode of Vanderpump Rules just last week, Kennedy didn’t make amends with Vanderpump’s actual son, Max, and isn't allowed to DJ (yet again) back at her restaurant.

Hopefully, the rift can be mended sometime before James Kennedy and Raquel Leviss’ eventual wedding, which they say could be sometime in the summer of 2023. But apparently, their ousted ex-Vanderpump Rules castmates, including Stassi Schroeder, Kristen Doute, Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright, will “most likely” not be getting an invite. Leviss said:

On the show, the DJ had infamously huge feuds with all of the former castmates, especially Jax Taylor. So it’s no wonder why they potentially won’t get an invite to the upcoming ceremony.

Lisa Vanderpump has indicated that some of her former staff should have been given a chance to show growth on Vanderpump Rules’ ninth season, after their controversies last year. It could, in theory, still happen, in which case James Kennedy and Raquel Leviss might have to reconsider the plans for their nuptials. I guess it depends on how petty Kennedy could be feeling at that point. Stassi Schroeder and Kristen Doute arguably made Vanderpump Rules what it is today. (By extension, it means they also partly inspired Issa Rae’s new HBO Max show.) Their friendship fell apart after Doute famously slept with Schroeder’s boyfriend in the earlier seasons, but the two later smoothed things over on the show. Nevertheless, they both were embroiled in a racial controversy last year and subsequently fired by Bravo. VP executive producer and matriarch Lisa Vanderpump, curiously enough, actually wishes Schroeder and Doute would have been brought back into the fold.

Despite production for Vanderpump Rules being shut down last year due to the pandemic, the personal lives of its stars remained full of drama. Amidst a tighter focus on instances of white privilege in the entertainment industry, VR alums Stassi Schroeder and Kristen Doute were put in the anti-spotlight for prank-calling the cops to arrest the show’s only Black castmate, Faith Stowers. They later apologized but the damage was already done and they were not asked back to film another season. Lisa Vanderpump reflected on their exits once again to Page Six, saying,

Lala Kent is also of a similar opinion, but this is pretty surprising coming from Lisa Vanderpump herself. Though their collective relationships changed somewhat in more recent years, she especially didn’t get along with Stassi Schroeder and Kristen Doute a whole lot on Vanderpump Rules itself. Vanderpump was even prone to shade them in order to bolster Season 9’s premiere, which she basically said she would have done to their faces had they come back.

Still, it is true that many of Vanderpump Rules’ cast have made major mistakes on the show but were continuously brought back anyway over the years. Jax Taylor was arrested for theft at one point and Lala Kent is notorious for calling her co-stars a lot of unsavory names. However, the show has never faced such a backlash as Stassi Schroeder and Kristen Doute’s past actions, which reportedly were happening elsewhere as well in other capacities. What's more is that they were not necessarily “youngsters” when the Faith Stowers incident occurred – they were in their late 20s and are now both in their 30s.

The Vanderpump Rules cast shakeup didn't just stop with Stassi Schroeder and Kristen Doute’s exits, either. Racially insensitive tweets were unearthed for both Max Boyens and Brett Caprioni, newcomers in Season 8, so they were also fired from the show. A few months later, longtime alums Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright revealed they wouldn't be returning for Season 9 and would be focusing on their burgeoning family.

Even though Vanderpump Rules doesn't have as many familiar faces as it once did, Season 9 still has the same old drama. According to Ariana Madix, filming the new season was actually way better without Stassi Schroeder, Kristen Doute and all the rest. She told Page Six:

Season 9 of Vanderpump Rules is right around the corner, and the dynamic is going to be a whole lot different this year. Veteran show alums Stassi Schroeder, Kristen Doute, Max Boyens and Brett Caprioni were all fired in 2020 after several racist and homophobic occurrences came to light. Then Jax Taylor and his wife, Brittany Cartwright, suddenly quit. Though they might be gone, executive producer and matriarch Lisa Vanderpump hasn't forgotten them. That is, she hasn't forgotten to shade Schroeder, one of her favorite pastimes.

In case fans might be worried that the upcoming ninth season of Vanderpump Rules won't be as dramatic, what with all the newborn babies floating around, Lisa Vanderpump has some news for you. The answer is no, it's still dramatic, even without Stassi Schroeder’s frequent temper tantrums on the show. Vanderpump told Radar Online:

The shade here is that Lisa Vanderpump is referring to Stassi Schroeder’s various birthday blow-ups while on the show. The most iconic of which took place back in 2013 when Schroeder and co-star Tom Schwartz started throwing drinks at each other after her ex, Jax Taylor, showed up at her party unannounced. Even as recently as Season 7, Schroeder was seen getting into a drunken argument on her birthday with Beau Clark, who is now her fiancé and father of her first child.

Lisa Vanderpump and Stassi Schroeder notoriously didn't get along for quite a while on Vanderpump Rules. Schroeder even exited the show for a brief time, but she eventually begged Vanderpump to be brought back into the fold. They rebuilt their relationship and, despite Schroeder’s firing, the two are still on good terms, with Vanderpump telling Us Weekly recently that she ran into her former waitress and that she wishes all the former castmates well.

Stassi Schroeder's tantrums might not be at the forefront of Vanderpump Rules anymore, but the drama is supposedly still at DEFCON-1 in Season 9. Lisa Vanderpump said about the new season:

Previously, Lisa Vanderpump had shared that Scheana Shay and Brock Davies’ relationship takes center stage in the new season. Apparently, the Vanderpump Rules cast are still partial to question the validity of Shay’s paramours. But judging by the new trailer, she still doesn't appreciate it very much.

It's still unclear if Stassi Schroeder and all the other Vanderpump Rules alum absences will be addressed in Season 9. Nevertheless, even now as a soon-to-be grandmother, Lisa Vanderpump can still casually shade them without batting an eye. Check out the premiere of the new season on September 28 on Bravo.

Lisa Vanderpump has gained a lot of titles over the years: child actor, restauranteur, reality TV star, and executive producer. One could also call her a muse for Issa Rae’s latest HBO Max project. But really, the Vanderpump Rules matriarch has a much better, much cuter name for her first grandchild to call her.

Given our similar Dutch ancestry, I was wishfully thinking that Lisa Vanderpump might take on the moniker of “beppe.” (It's a Frisian-dialect word that I call my own Dutch grandmother.) Alas, Vanderpump has other ideas for her own grandchild – and it's very on brand for the reality star. In an interview with PureWow, she revealed:

Though a grandchild being on the way is good news, Lisa Vanderpump has faced many struggles of late. The COVID-19 pandemic not only put one of her iconic L.A. restaurants out of business, but it also complicated matters for filming Season 9 of Vanderpump Rules. And it goes much deeper than even that. Vanderpump also shared:

Lisa Vanderpump’s brother, Mark, tragically died by suicide in 2018, and her mother only a year later due to a deep vein thrombosis condition. Giggy, her longtime pup companion who practically had a supporting role on Vanderpump Rules, passed away at the end of last year. But Vanderpump takes time to honor them in her own ways.

Despite the onslaught of tragic occurrences, it’s gradually becoming a time of celebration. Lisa Vanderpump is celebrating her pending grandchild and her new form of address. Meanwhile, Bravo fans are stoked that Vanderpump Rules' ninth season is wrapped and finally on its way to our TVs, with more mature storylines reportedly taking the spotlight.

Bravo's Vanderpump Rules has spanned nine seasons now, with a whole lot of drama playing out amongst the workers at Lisa Vanderpump’s hustling L.A. restaurant. The reality show was a natural successor of the Real Housewives, albeit with a younger, hipper spin. As it turns out, Vanderpump Rules' train of influence reached none other than producer and actress Issa Rae. The Insecure co-creator actually used it as an inspirational foundation on which to shape her own new reality show for HBO Max, Sweet Life: Los Angeles.

Following the runaway success of HBO's Insecure, along with her various film roles, Issa Rae was looking for a new project to pursue. She told EW that new project surprisingly originated in the form of a “Black Melrose” pitch that ultimately transformed into Sweet Life: Los Angeles, which is currently streaming on HBO Max. Rae shared that marathoning Vanderpump Rules’ first season on a plane ride helped shape the ethos of Sweet Life, saying:

Sweet Life: Los Angeles certainly shares a lot of similarities with Vanderpump Rules: namely L.A. dreamers and a dash of complex interpersonal relationships, sans Lisa Vanderpump's restaurant. But it sets itself apart by being one of the few and far between all-Black TV casts, in the reality TV genre or otherwise. As seen in the show's August 19 premiere episode on HBO Max, executive producer Issa Rae wrangled together seven South L.A 20-somethings to share their friend group’s successes – or, at least, their journeys in the general direction of success. It features aspiring designers and producers, some “trap yoga,” a beat up Honda Civic, and the ol’ reliable relationship entanglements that are part and parcel with these kinds of shows. (And young people.)

But Vanderpump Rules wasn't the only show to influence Sweet Life: Los Angeles. Executive producer Issa Rae said her initial plan was:

Talk about a tall order – but she managed it by supposedly “finding real people with real ambitions.” She reflected that she was “very skeptical and careful” at the onset because she didn't want the HBO Max series to feature the “stereotypical archetype of L.A.” (Which one could argue is exactly what happened in Vanderpump Rules.) She said,

So whether or not you care about Vanderpump Rules, there's still reasons to tune in. It seems where Issa Rae promises, she delivers, so watch your crown, Lisa Vanderpump…

Sweet Life: Los Angeles is streaming now on HBO Max, with new episodes debuting Wednesdays throughout the 2021 Fall TV season.

Vanderpump Rules is the last of Bravo's lineup to break free of the quarantine production shutdowns. (Even Family Karma lapped it.) Fans are curious to know exactly where all of Lisa Vanderpump’s misfit (un)employees and their frequently messy relationships stand now, nearly two years later. Vanderpump is sharing some insight on that front, particularly how Scheana Shay and Brock Davies’ relationship somehow takes center stage in Season 9.

Notably, fans only just met Sheana Shay's new, beau Brock Davies, in the last season. There wasn't much story there, apart from Shay finding someone who actually wanted to be with her this time (right, Adam Spott?). However, filming for Season 9 of Vanderpump Rules reportedly commenced around May, coinciding with the birth of Shay and Davies’ Rainbow Baby. Lisa Vanderpump reveals that Shay’s castmates, true to form, had some thoughts on her relationship. She said to US Weekly:

I'm predicting that the Vanderpump Rules cast's view on Scheana Shay’s relationship is probably that she'ss rushing into something permanent (i.e. a baby with someone) without really knowing them. (She has been accused of as much before.) In truth, Shay and Brock Davies have only been dating since November of 2019, and they conceived their child sometime around August of 2020. So things have definitely been “moving fast,” as they say.

Yet it seems Sheana Shay and Brock Davies didn't really take the Vanderpump Rules cast's opinions as reality. The two are still together, only now they have their daughter Summer Moon, who was born in April. Moreover, the two recently announced in July that they were engaged to be married. Filming for Season 9 of Vanderpump Rules seemingly wrapped production before their engagement news broke, but Lisa Vanderpump indicates that their relationship sets the groundwork for a much more adult season than ever before:

Vanderpump Rules’ ninth season will certainly be different. Half the cast was fired last year, and series alums Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright quit. Most of the remaining stars, including Lala Kent and Scheana Shay, were new mothers at the time of filming. So I guess when DJ James Kennedy said things were going to be totally different this year, he really meant that the cast was just maturing.

Hopefully, this season will still have some of the old drama that made Vanderpump Rules so successful, though. A hard task, with so many babies and engagements materializing.

After a bunch of delays and controversies last year, Vanderpump Rules is finally back in the Bravo races, albeit in last place. Fans have been anxiously waiting for updates on Lisa Vanderpump and her cohort of former and current restaurant staff, as well as all of their drama. So it's good news that Season 9 has officially wrapped filming, and Vanderpump herself is celebrating.

The queen of reality TV, Lisa Vanderpump, has been weathering a lot of legal and personal issues this past year. But it won't likely be the focal point on Vanderpump Rules, given her primary role is the matriarch of advice for a bunch of L.A. misfits. Supposedly, the very last thing filmed for Vanderpump Rules’ ninth season was James Kennedy and Raquel Leviss’s engagement party. As seen on Kennedy's Instagram, the whole main crew is there, including Tom Sandoval, Tom Schwartz, Katie Maloney and Lala Kent. Kennedy and Leviss have definitely come a long way since the last season, considering they almost broke up over Kennedy's alcoholism.

As for what else is in store for fans on Vanderpump Rules, new mommy Lala Kent shared more insight into Season 9. She previously told the Behind the Velvet Rope podcast:

Lala Kent also revealed that her bond with co-star Scheana Shay grew during filming for Season 9 of Vanderpump Rules. Both women gave birth to their daughters within a few weeks of each other in March and April of this year. Kent said that due to production restrictions that only allow babies 20 minutes of camera time, her and Shay connected over motherhood and being separated. In fact, the two “shed a lot of tears” together.

So Lisa Vanderpump is kicking it like always, and Lala Kent and Scheana Shay are new mommy BFFs. But what about their obviously missing and fired former Vanderpump Rules castmates from Season 8? According to Kent, they sort of had to power through filming Season 9 without them. She said:

A new Vanderpump Rules era seems to be manifesting in Season 9. One that isn't steered into disaster by Jax Taylor – but don’t worry, he’s happy he’s no longer part of it anymore. Now, Bravo fans just have to wait a few months until the show finally sees some air time.

As a seasoned vet of Lisa Vanderpump’s restaurant reality series Vanderpump Rules, Scheana Shay is used to the spotlight and the drama that comes along with it. This also includes online trolls and body shamers, in case you were wondering. Now, only a little over a month after giving birth to her first child, the reality star is flaunting her newfound curves and not letting the comments about it get her down.

Scheana Shay gave birth to her daughter, Summer Moon, in June. As a result, the Vanderpump Rules star recently declared it “Hot Mom Summer” in an Instagram pic with her boyfriend, Brock Davies. A lot of the comments seem to be coming from fans genuinely happy for her showing off her new body so soon following the pregnancy. Others were decidedly not and urged her to “stop hiding” her stomach and to “own” it. Shay clapped back at the body shaming hints in the comments, saying (via Bravo):

Just one deep dive into Scheana Shay's Instagram should be proof enough that she isn't ashamed of her body. Now, Shay and her fellow Vanderpump Rules castmates’ drama on the show is another story entirely. Former stars Jax Taylor and his wife Brittany Cartwright, who gave birth last month as well, revealed that they would attempt to keep their son away from more controversial episodes if they can.

Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright quit the show last year, but they are still close with their ex co-stars. Cartwright was even spotted at Scheana Shay's baby shower. But it remains to be seen how their huge absence (not to mention the firings of several other alums last year) will affect Season 9, which is currently filming.

Scheana Shay's co-star, James Kennedy, shared a few months ago that they were doing something “entirely different” for this go-around of Vanderpump Rules. The cast is still being rather cagey on details, though. In an interview with E! News’ Daily Pop, Tom Sandoval said they have done “three firsts this season that you have never seen on Bravo.”

Supposedly, there is a lot of home footage taken by the Vanderpump Rules cast from the quarantine last year that will be utilized in the next season. But that's hardly a first, given that several other Bravo shows lapped Vanderpump Rules in the race to get back up and running following hiatuses.

The confirmed cast for Season 9 of Vanderpump Rules is rather short, with two of them (Scheana Shay and vet Lala Kent) both being newfound mothers. So it's curious how the reality show will continue its longstanding tradition of getting into screaming, drunken arguments at parties and social events. It might just be a Hot Moms Summer for the Bravo show, which sounds slightly better than Lizzo's Ass Crack Summer and leagues better than Chet Hanks' White Boy Summer.

As its longest consecutive castmate, Kandi Burruss is the certified OG of the Real Housewives of Atlanta. But the OG is taking her OLG (Old Lady Gang) southern food restaurant to loftier pursuits. After NBCUniversal announced Burruss is getting her own spin-off – focusing on the personal and professional lives at the restaurant – the news reminded a lot folks about that other Real Housewives star's restaurant-based spinoff series. Not to be deterred, Burruss has no problem taking those easy Lisa Vanderpump comparisons to task.

Lisa Vanderpump left the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in 2019, having established herself as the Queen of Reality TV Spinoffs. She was the matriarch of Vanderpump Rules since 2013, as well as all of its spinoffs, and she's also heading up the newer project Overserved with Lisa Vanderpump. But the concept of Vanderpump Rules – following the personal and professional lives of her various Los Angeles restaurant waitstaffs – is what sounds the most like Kandi Burruss’ new show, though not so much according to its star. She told ETOnline:

Outside of the plain labels of being Bravolebrities and restauranteurs, Kandi Burruss and Lisa Vanderpump couldn’t be more different in terms of personality and fashion style and plenty of other elements. Not to mention, we all know which of the two is more likely to get deep and personal into serious Real Housewives drama, both in and out of seasons, while the other is less impulsive about such things.

Kandi Burruss has made her mark in almost every arena of entertainment and beyond: as part of the 90s R&B girls’ group Xscape, through roles on Broadway, via the popular scripted series The Chi, through her many restaurants, and even with her popular sex toy business. All that said, she has only had brief success in branching out her Real Housewives of Atlanta fame on Bravo, despite serving up a variety of one-off spinoffs like The Kandi Factory, Kandi's Wedding, and Kandi's Ski Trip. Those didn't turn into runaway hits like Lisa Vanderpump’s Vanderpump Rules, which is currently filming Season 9, or even Kim Zolciak’s Don't Be Tardy, which just ended after eight seasons. However, this new series definitely looks like it'll aim to emulate that success by providing an East Coast/Down South twist on a tried-and-true idea.

So far as we know, Kandi Burruss' new show about her OLG restaurant will start Mama Joyce, Aunt Nora, Aunt Bertha, Burruss herself and her husband Todd Tucker. Per ETOnline, its premise revolves around the aspirations of her employees and also “how workplace slights bleed into their social lives.” (If that isn't the definition of Vanderpump Rules, I don't know what is.) It will reportedly film soon, per Burruss, and is expected to premiere this fall. The Real Housewives of Atlanta star did tease that there may be some spicy drama happening on the new spinoff, too, saying:

It will be curious to see how far executive producer and star Kandi Burruss will take things on the restaurant reality show, as well as how different it will actually be from Lisa Vanderpump’s shows. But if this past season of Real Housewives of Atlanta (showcasing Burruss’ dominatrix and bachelorette party skillsets) is any indication, then we all should be in for something big (yes, that’s a reference to Bolo).

And no, for anyone wondering, this new spinoff does not mean that Kandi Burruss is shaking things up further by leaving the Real Housewives of Atlanta, and thank goodness! There is already too much talk of Porsha Williams (who also has a spin-off coming down the pipeline) leaving the show. Burruss said she is “open” to continue showing her reality to viewers so long as Bravo wants her to.

So it sounds like Kandi Burruss is down to remain the OG of Real Housewives of Atlanta for some time then. And who knows? Maybe she'll once day unseat Lisa Vanderpump as the Queen of Bravo, though the latter will likely then throw that seat through a window.

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ Erika Jayne is facing a rough season on the Bravo show and in real life. Her husband, Tom Girardi, is accused of embezzling funds meant for clients in the currently ongoing class-action lawsuit and Chapter 7 bankruptcy case. Jayne filed for divorce from Girardi in November, but she has still been implicated in his alleged crimes. To add some salt to the wound, her former co-star, Lisa Vanderpump, is seemingly weighing in on the speculation that the current Real Housewives of Beverly Hills stars are keeping quiet about Erika Jayne's potential role in all the legal drama.

On Twitter, where Lisa Vanderpump has been known to get into a feud or two, the ex-Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star made an interesting comment on a fan’s post. The user pointed out the supposed double standard of the current castmates vilifying Vanderpump in the press over an adopted dog issue, while now being silent on Erika Jayne allegedly “stealing/withholding funds from victims” and “spending it on glamour.” See Vanderpump’s response below:

Dorit Kemsley, at one point, said on Twitter that people should give Erika Jayne “a break” and that they were “bullying.” Kyle Richards had nothing but empathy for Erika Jayne’s life “crumbling before her eyes.”

But then again, Erika Jayne has a good rapport with Kyle Richards, Dorit Kemsley and Lisa Rinna on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. (Though, the teasers for the current season indicate the same isn’t quite so true with Sutton Stracke.) They all are supposedly really good friends even outside the show.

As for Lisa Vanderpump, she exited the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in 2019 on bad terms with all the ladies, even her once-BFF, Kyle Richards. The bad blood between them has even been reignited in a feud over new noses and dining-and-dashing allegations. Vanderpump has even, apparently, taken to drawing mustaches on cast photos she's asked to photograph.

Erika Jayne still has a lot more on her plate at the moment than a throwaway comment from Lisa Vanderpump. In the midst of speculation that she is selling her clothes and jewelry to avoid the government seizing it as collateral for her husband’s supposed unpaid debts, her lawyers in the bankruptcy case dropped her and then proceeded to reverse the decision within the span of a week. Moreover, Jayne was focused on heavily in the recently aired ABC News special about the legal troubles.

Nevertheless, Lisa Vanderpump has been embroiled in several legal dramas of her own. So one has to wonder if it's wise for her to comment on Erika Jayne's.

Of late, Lisa Vanderpump has been going back-and-forth tit-for-tat with Kyle Richards, her ex-BFF and former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills co-star of nearly 10 years. Richards recently claimed on Watch What Happens Live that Vanderpump drew Xs and mustaches over a Real Housewives cast picture that a fan wanted autographs for. And apparently, Vanderpump is continuing the bit. When stopped for autographs again this week, she allegedly said (via TooFab), “Don't you have any housewives? I can put a mustache on...”

Supposedly, Lisa Vanderpump continued to pile on the shade at her former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills co-stars when a fan brought up the trend of “pandemic puppies” that were adopted last year and have since been abandoned. She reportedly said:

Lisa Vanderpump’s line seemingly refers to her Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 6 tagline: “I’m passionate about dogs, just not crazy about bitches.” Only in Season 6, Vanderpump was feuding with just Yolanda Foster, not every single cast member on the show.

Lisa Vanderpump’s recent dog reference could also be seen as a nod to her final season of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and the Dorit Kemsley puppygate scandal. Long story short, Kemsley was accused by Vanderpump of abandoning a Vanderpump Dogs Foundation pooch. After which, the group accused Vanderpump of going to the press and setting up former co-star Teddi Mellencamp for the fall. Kyle Richards even accused longtime friend Vanderpump of lying.

According to both Lisa Vanderpump and Kyle Richards, their friendship ended right then and there. But the tension was reignited last month when Vanderpump playfully sent her restaurant bill over to Richards, who was tables away from her. Richards apparently refused to pay and promptly called out Vanderpump for dining and dashing. Vanderpump, a successful restauranteur herself, adamantly denied the claim and would turn around and call Richards out for her “new nose.”

It’s kind of awe-inspiring that so much drama can occur outside the scope of a Real Housewives season. As has happened for many others, we can only hope that it sets up Lisa Vanderpump to rejoin the fold of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. If you ask her about it though, you’ll only get another cheeky response in return.

But feuds that run outside the purview of the show and stem from an almost 10-year friendship are kind of unheard of, which is exactly what’s happened between Lisa Vanderpump and Kyle Richards from Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. The two have been going back and forth as of late over a restaurant bill of all things. But with Vanderpump’s “new nose” commentary, things are getting out of hand, and Richards is clapping back.

The feud was initially reignited between the former friends when Lisa Vanderpump spotted Kyle Richards at a restaurant in Los Angeles and playfully sent over her bill to be paid. Richards apparently refused to pay for her and would later accuse Vanderpump of effectively dining and dashing. As an owner of multiple restaurants herself, Vanderpump, of course, denied the insinuations and said to Daily Pop, “She should keep her new nose out of my business.” In response to Vanderpump calling out her “new nose,” Richards said:

Kyle Richards’ sisters, Kim Richards and Kathy Hilton, were there when she was asked about the nose comment. Kim only laughed, but Hilton actually came to the defense of Lisa Vanderpump, saying she “loves Kyle” and “would never do that.” It was speculated that this was shade on Hilton’s part. Maybe, but if Hilton, a newcomer on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, doesn’t yet know it, Vanderpump very much would do that.

It’s like watching a tennis match of shady commentary between the ladies. But the “new nose” comment from Lisa Vanderpump doesn’t seem to hold much weight for Kyle Richards. She was actually very upfront about getting her nose done in the Season 11 opener of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, so it's likely she really doesn’t care what's said about it.

Vanderpump may have exited the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in 2019, but it seems the reality star still found time recently to stoke her feud with former longtime friend Kyle Richards, only this time it was not for the cameras.

According to TMZ, the feud between Lisa Vanderpump and Kyle Richards was given new life this past week when both were having dinner at the Shu Restaurant in Los Angeles. Vanderpump and her husband Ken Todd were a few tables away from Richards and a Real Housewives executive producer who also reportedly works on Vanderpump Rules and Overserved. The producer apparently went over to Vanderpump for a quick hello, which later prompted the reality star to jokingly send over her $132 dinner bill for the producer and Richards to pick up. They didn’t take it as a mere joke, however, and pointedly refused to pay Vanderpump’s bill.

The snub isn’t too unreasonable, given what played out in Lisa Vanderpump and Kyle Richards’ friendship on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, and the audacity of such a move in the first place. The two were insanely close for nearly a decade, as depicted by the show, but it all took a turn for the worse in Vanderpump’s last season, when other cast members accused her of leaking to the press that Dorit Kemsley allegedly abandoned her adopted dog from Vanderpump Dogs. Richards flat-out accused Vanderpump of lying, going to the press, and even setting up former co-star Teddi Mellencamp for the fallout.

Suffice to say, Lisa Vanderpump didn’t take well to being called a liar by her one true ally within the group. Having that experience coupled with the grief of losing a loved one in that span of time, Vanderpump left Real Housewives of Beverly Hills permanently at the end of Season 9.

Their feud didn't exactly end there, though, as seen by this recent restaurant tab dispute. If it was really an innocent joke, it could have been a means to open the door of friendship once more. However, that very likely wasn’t Lisa Vanderpump’s intention. When asked only a few weeks ago if she would ever speak to Kyle Richards again, the restauranteur had this to say:

This doesn't even mark the first time that Lisa Vanderpump attempted to throw shade or joke around where restaurant tabs are concerned. She got into a heated Twitter feud with Real Housewives of Orange County star Kelly Dodd (now Leventhal), whom she accused of dining and dashing at her restaurant. Dodd vehemently denied those claims, and Vanderpump later apologized, with Dodd thanking her for clearing up the drama.

Kyle Richards probably won’t be getting the same treatment as Kelly Dodd did from Lisa Vanderpump. The initial issue might have appeared to be just another petty Housewives squabble on the face of things, but it seems to clearly indicate something much more problematic under the surface. Still, it looks like the joke, at least this time, is on Vanderpump.

Her brother, Mark Vanderpump, died by suicide in April of 2018. The tragic news was shocking and overwhelmingly sad for Lisa Vanderpump, as we saw during the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and Vanderpump Rules seasons during that span of time. Three years later, Vanderpump posted a pic of herself with her brother on the anniversary of his death, with the caption saying, “gone but not forgotten.” See her tribute below:

Over the years, the former Real Housewives star has struggled in her grief for her late brother. Fans witnessed Vanderpump crying in Bravo confessionals a few times as she attempted to articulate the pain of losing someone close to her in that way, meanwhile dealing with the petty squabbles and drama of reality TV. The drunken, hilarious storylines of the eccentric waitstaffs at Lisa Vanderpump’s restaurants, as they attempted to navigate their relationships and the perils of La La Land, have been Bravo staples for many years now. But it wasn’t until 2020 and all its pandemonium that Vanderpump Rules made some distinct changes. They dropped their controversial figures and, then, show veteran Jax Taylor decided to exit as a cast member, along with wife Brittany Cartwright. It was a shocking move to fans but, apparently, Taylor is glad he’s no longer part of Vanderpump Rules.

Jax Taylor was on the show since its inception in 2013 and quickly became notorious for his brash nature and playboy tendencies. But in his interview with the Daddy Issues podcast, the reality TV alum implied that not all was what it seemed on Vanderpump Rules, saying about his exit:

The persona that Jax Taylor claims to have “put on” while filming Vanderpump Rules was one of a "bad guy," so to speak. Stealing and lying were just the tip of the iceberg. There was a particular sequence of events that even had Taylor admitting to then-girlfriend Stassi Schroeder that he cheated on her with another castmate (and her best friend at the time), Kristen Doute. One could say, without these wild moments, the show probably wouldn't be as popular amongst Bravo fans.

Stassi Schroeder and Kristen Doute were both fired from the show last year following the accusations that the two bullied their former castmate, Faith Stowers. Jax Taylor also had a role in that controversy but was not fired alongside the two. Former Vanderpump Rules star Billie Lee recently commented that the producers of the show would essentially ignore Taylor’s ways, even though he was “difficult to work with” and allegedly on drugs. For his part, Taylor claims that he said “a lot of bullshit” while on Vanderpump Rules and was caught in “so many lies” but that it was just a way to play up the drama. He said:

With Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright’s exit and almost a third of the cast fired for controversy last year, it is unclear what the future of Vanderpump Rules will look like. Filming for Season 9 has been consistently put off due to covid-19 restrictions but, as it stands, they may only have alums Scheana Shay, the Toms, and a few others to hold down the fort. It's likely that more new blood will need to be brought in for next season, if it happens at all.

Jax Taylor may be glad that he’s no longer part of Vanderpump Rules and seems to be recovering from his time as the show's "bad guy." But let's also hope the countless women and friends who were also affected by his on-air antics are also getting a chance to move on as well.

Restaurant owner and ex-Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Lisa Vanderpump proclaimed that a well-known Real Housewives of Orange County lady pulled a dine-n-dash at one of her restaurants. The lady in question provided receipts on Twitter that allegedly proved this was not the case, forcing Vanderpump to slightly backpedal her claims in her response.

Real Housewives of Orange County’s Kelly Dodd is not one to mince words or to go quietly into the night. Following Lisa Vanderpump’s claims that she “didn’t pay a bill” at her PUMP restaurant, Dodd pulled out the literal receipt she got from paying, saying it was a “lie,” as well as some more of her signature harsh retorts. The Lisa Vanderpump-Kelly Dodd face-off seems to have really heated up after this incident. The Arizona native, who is now Kelly Leventhal after marrying Fox News correspondent Rick Leventhal, continued posting on Twitter to give more clarity to the dine-n-dash in question. She stated that the incident was six years ago and that it was actually Vicki Gunvalson and others who didn’t pay the bill. Along with icily saying that it was “no wonder Villa Blanca went under,” Dodd also wrote in a now-deleted tweet (via RealityBlurb):

It has been speculated that Kelly Dodd may not return to Real Housewives of Orange County following the backlash to her comments made last year, though she claims otherwise. But if she doesn’t return, perhaps she can just hash it out with another ex-Housewife and get drunk on Overserved with Lisa Vanderpump.

At the time, the biggest shocker of Season 9 was Kyle Richards (her longtime BFF) accusing Vanderpump of leaking information surrounding Dorit Kemsley and her adopted dog to the press. Apparently, the bad blood is still, well, bad, given Vanderpump’s icy response to Andy Cohen.

When asked if she would forgive and have a conversation with Kyle Richards, if perhaps trapped in an elevator with her, the restauranteur joked that she would “look for the escape panel first.” Ouch. Looks like their friendship, which spanned the entirety of her near-decade on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, was truly shaken up by a dog adoption gone haywire. In order for forgiveness to happen between the former co-stars, Vanderpump said Richards needs to reach out first:

For true Real Housewives fans out there, you’ll know what I mean when I say that Lisa Vanderpump leaving the Beverly Hills was the equivalent of anytime Bethenny Frankel leaves Real Housewives of New York. It just ain’t the same afterwards. Every spinoff of the franchise needs that comedienne figure with a hard exterior to truly make it work. Fans want Vanderpump back precisely because of this reason: she was, literally, the funniest person on the cast.

Perhaps Lisa Vanderpump can take a page from Bethenny Frankel’s book and return at her leisure. It seems to work out fine for her. Otherwise, we’ll have to settle for Vanderpump getting wasted with celebs on her new show, Overserved with Lisa Vanderpump, or her appearances whenever Vanderpump Rules starts filming again. It might sound silly to some but watching reality television is perhaps one of the best pastimes to undertake during a global pandemic. The petty squabbles and cheating dramas honestly make for a great distraction during a serious time. Which is why inquiring minds want to know when exactly Vanderpump Rules is going to start filming again. And according to the show's executive producer and namesake, Lisa Vanderpump, there is news on that front.

Vanderpump Rules follows the personal and professional lives of the wait staff at several of Lisa Vanderpump's restaurants, including PUMP, Tom Tom and Sur. But with the pandemic and quarantine rules, production of the reality show has been consistently delayed despite other shows on the network moving forward. Vanderpump has indicated that filming will only resume on one major condition. She told E!:

Lisa Vanderpump's restaurants, like many others, have taken a significant hit from being shut down. This trouble is compounded by the several lawsuits she's has had to contend with in recent months. It was reported only last week that PUMP was shut down by the California Franchise Tax Board, presumably for unpaid taxes or fines. Vanderpump's restaurants were also sued for alleged unpaid produce, and Vanderpump herself is facing a class action lawsuit from former restaurant employees for things like unpaid overtime and altering timesheets.

Despite the legal drama, though, the former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star has plans to restore her restaurants to their former glory. She told E! that both PUMP and Sur are opening again and that plans are underway to fully reopen TomTom, if the capacity can increase there as well. She said:

With this progress, fingers are crossed that Vanderpump Rules will begin filming for Season 9 soon. Mama needs her soaps, so to speak. With all the main girls still remaining on the show being pregnant or recently having given birth, it would be the mommy brigade season, and we can’t miss that.

Restaurant businesses have taken a brutal beating amidst the pandemic, with quarantine and social distancing rules forcing many places to shutter their doors at some point over the past year. That trend didn't miss restaurant mogul and reality television star Lisa Vanderpump, either. The executive producer and namesake of Bravo's widely popular Vanderpump Rules is facing yet another legal drama over the famed restaurant that put her show on the map.

The Sun recently obtained records that confirm Lisa Vanderpump's PUMP restaurant in West Hollywood, California is indefinitely suspended. The filings made by the California Franchise Tax Board are not clear on why PUMP specifically was shut down, but it is likely due to “failure to file tax returns, failure to pay taxes and/or failure to pay penalties/interest.”

The going has definitely been tough for all of Lisa Vanderpump's restaurants this past year, which include PUMP, Tom Tom, SUR and Villa Blanca. Following the initial lockdown last March, Vanderpump was forced to shut down her restaurants per the CDC safety guidelines. This also meant the production of Season 9 for Vanderpump Rules, which follows the personal lives of the restaurants’ waitstaff, was put on hold.

Lisa Vanderpump herself revealed that she was struggling financially to her Vanderpump Rules darling Lala Kent on her podcast back in September, saying,

In October, PUMP restaurant was able to reopen with social distancing, despite Lisa Vanderpump's announcement in July that Villa Blanca was closing permanently due to negotiations with the landlord falling through. Now, it seems unless Vanderpump pays what is allegedly owed to the state that the famed PUMP restaurant will follow Villa Blanca’s suit. This could easily spell disaster for the future of Vanderpump Rules and its stars.

The PUMP shutdown hasn't been the only legal drama that Lisa Vanderpump is contending with. The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star has been faced with multiple lawsuits in recent months.

The produce distributor of PUMP and Villa Blanca sued the restaurants, not Lisa Vanderpump herself, in February for roughly $100,000 of unpaid produce. Her husband Ken Todd later declared that the matter would be resolved. Two months before that, Vanderpump came under a class action lawsuit from her former SUR restaurant employees for unpaid overtime wages and altering their timesheets, to name a couple of their complaints.

With PUMP restaurant being shut down, it looks from the outside like a house of cards falling on top of Lisa Vanderpump. In the face of these allegations, though, the mogul is putting her best face forward and even has a new reality show Overserved with Lisa Vanderpump airing on March 18.

Fans will undoubtably watch the new series to get their fix of the saucy Queen of Bravo, but questions continue to linger about what all this restaurant legal drama will mean for Vanderpump Rules.

Lisa Vanderpump and husband Ken Todd's restaurants PUMP and Villa Blanca are being sued in a lawsuit by their produce distributor West Central Produce, according to TMZ. Per the lawsuit obtained by the trade, the restaurants last made payments to West Central Produce in March 2020 but they have allegedly not received any payment since. The lawsuit asserts that PUMP's last payment was $9,144.70, while Villa Blanca's was $8,890.10. The company claims the restaurants owe them around the figure of $100,000, and it's suing for that very amount as well as some interest.

She left Real Housewives of Beverly Hills after nine seasons, but Lisa Vanderpump still had four restaurants in Los Angeles and West Hollywood – PUMP, Villa Blanca, SUR and TomTom. All of which were shut down back in March because of the quarantine rules. PUMP and Villa Blanca both released joint statements at the time on Instagram that read:

PUMP restaurant announced in October that it would be reopening, with social distance dining, after seven months of being shut down. However, Lisa Vanderpump made a statement back in July to the Daily Mail that Villa Blanca was closing for good, saying:

The lawsuit against Lisa Vanderpump's restaurants comes on the heels of Vanderpump herself facing a lawsuit. In December, Page Six reported that Vanderpump was facing a class action lawsuit that accused her of altering timesheet records, not paying wages and not giving proper breaks for employees. Vanderpump has yet to address the allegations in either lawsuit publicly.

Though these allegations have sprung up at a very tumultuous time, Lisa Vanderpump is still going full force. Aside from her restaurants, she has two new reality shows – Vanderpump Dogs and Overserved with Lisa Vanderpump – and a potential book coming out.

Any fan of Vanderpump can tell you the grandeur of Villa Rosa is no joke, and the trailer paints the image of a mad-cap inversion of a late night talk show -- but with more elegant décor and heavy drinking.

Along with some shots of a wasted Gabriel Iglesias and a relaxed Vivica A. Fox, the trailer for Lisa Vanderpump’s new show sees Steve-O on his hands and knees getting spanked and even Vanderpump herself mooning her guests. Talk about a far cry from the Real Housewife who often identified with the stiff British upper lip. In the clip, Vanderpump teases:

The news of Overserved with Lisa Vanderpump is but another feather in the restaurant mogul’s cap. Not only does she own several businesses in West Hollywood, but she is now a bonafide reality television brand. She may not have reached Kardashian-status yet, but she's definitely up there.

Though she became famous as the queen of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills before her exit after nine seasons, Lisa Vanderpump did not stop there. Riding high on her fame, she executive-produced Vanderpump Rules in 2013, which centered on Vanderpump's employees at her West Hollywood restaurant, SUR.

The petty drama of the Vanderpump waitstaff quickly became a success in its own right, with Lisa Vanderpump only on the periphery of most scenes. She acted as the matriarch of her Vanderpump Rules employees, advising them on everything from cheating rumors to marital problems - and even entering into offshoot businesses with them. People reported that we will see some Vanderpump Rules stars like James Kennedy and Lala Kent in Overserved.

A rep for Peacock also confirmed to People back in July that there was a greenlight for another Lisa-Vanderpump-helmed show called Vanderpump Dogs. It has yet to be released, but it promises fans a deeper look into The Vanderpump Dog Foundation (her non-profit dog rescue organization).

Needless to say, Lisa Vanderpump knows her way around a juicy show. If she can handle Real Housewives, a bunch of millennial knuckleheads, and rescue dogs, then she can surely drink a few celebrities under the table.

Could Lisa Vanderpump be taking her pumps and pink chic elsewhere from Real Housewives of Beverly Hills? Well, if you have been keeping close tabs on the latest season, you know that there has been some intense dog drama going on.

All of it is about to hit its climax on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. The confrontation between Kyle Richards and Lisa Vanderpump goes down in tonight’s episode airing April 2. It is a heated argument that ends with Kyle being told to leave Villa Rosa (the Vanderpumps’ house) by the couple. Vanderpump told ET where she was coming from and hinted at the fallout, saying:

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ big storyline so far has had a lot of bark and bite. What is it all about? Well if you need a refresher, Dorit Kemsley adopted a dog from Vanderpump Dogs. After giving Lucy to a family friend, the dog ended up in a shelter. Lucy eventually got returned to Vanderpump’s rescue center.

Teddi Mellencamp has accused Lisa Vanderpump of wanting the dog drama revealed and using her as the catalyst to do it. At the end of last week’s episode, Dorit was horrified to discover the whole story had made its way to the press.

That leak is something that Dorit Kemsley’s husband, PK, said Lisa Vanderpump was also behind. Vanderpump has denied any involvement in any of it. Vanderpump explained her frustration, saying:

Since Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is about the friendships between the women, that does not bode well for her RHOBH future. Of course, the Bravo series could bring in some new friends for her. Then it would start to feel like separate shows though. For those hoping that the drama will blow over, it does not sound destined to abate any time soon.

A lot more will be known once taping on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reunion commences. Whether Lisa Vanderpump will participate is the question on many fans’ minds. As is whether Vanderpump will return for another season of the show if it gets picked up.

For now, it does not sound incredibly reassuring that the reality star will be back. Lisa Vanderpump did not even make it through the entire season of filming. If she could not make it through this season, why would she come back for another?

Asked about the rumors regarding her future with Real Housewives of Beverly Hills after this season, Lisa Vanderpump weighed in. Vanderpump told E!’s Melanie Bromley this:

It is important to note that she did not say “no” to a potential return. So, that is positive. Lisa Vanderpump went on to highlight all of the pleasant opportunities Real Housewives has provided her with so far. Hence, there have been highlights.

ABC released that information on Good Morning America today, including the eleven contestants set to show off their dance moves, and the names of the professional dancers they'll be partnered with.

Dancing with the Stars premieres Season 16 on Monday, March 18, with Tom Bergeron and Brooke Burke-Carvet set to host. GMA announced the contestants today. Included among the celebrities competing this year are 16-year-old actress Zendaya Coleman, comedian Andy Dick, figure skater Dorothy Hammill, comedian D.L. Hughley, professional football player Jacoby Jones, singer Wynonna Judd, boxer Victor Ortiz, former American Idol contestant and musician Kellie Pickler, soap star Ingo Rademacher, Olympic gymnast Alexandra Raisman and Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' Lisa Vanderpump.
