On top of the genuine friendship, these casts have also experienced extreme rises to stardom. Friends is one of the best sitcoms, and it sent its six actors to a level of fame that’s overwhelming. A similar thing is happening to the cast of Off Campus. This show made them household names and served as a major breakout moment in their careers. I also think these projects are worth comparing, because these shows didn’t just propel one actor into the spotlight, it put a light on an entire ensemble.

Obviously, the two shows are quite different. Friends is simply a sitcom about six friends (and there's some romance). Off Campus is a romance series that puts a couple at the center of each season. However, at the heart of Prime Video’s book-to-screen adaptation is the friendship between Garrett, Logan, Tucker and Dean, as well as Allie and Hannah. Yes, romance is the primary focus; however, the bond all these characters share as pals is very comparable to Friends and one of the reasons why I love it so much.

So, overall, I totally see why someone compared the cast of Off Campus to the Friends ensemble, and I hope that stays true as this hockey romance continues into Season 2 and beyond. I have a feeling Off Campus is going to abandon book order, just like Bridgerton did, and I’m thrilled about it. Now that Hannah and Garrett’s season is over, it’s time to start pondering which of the boys from his house will be the focus of the next season. According to the books, it should be John Logan. However, after watching Season 1, I’m actually convinced Dean and Allie – the subjects of Elle Kennedy’s third novel in this series – will get the book-to-screen adaptation next.

While They Cast Logan’s Love Interest, Amazon Will Not Confirm Who Gets The Next Season

While it’s long been speculated by fans that Dean and Allie could be next, I have a feeling Prime Video is trying to throw us off that scent. Before Season 1 premiered on the 2026 TV schedule, Off Campus announced who would be playing Grace, Logan’s love interest in his book The Mistake. Take a look:

Well, now we know that, along with Antonio Cipriano playing Logan, India Fowler will join the cast in Season 2 of the hockey romance as Grace Ivers. So, you’d think: ‘Oh, they’re leading the next season, because they’re the focus of book two,’ right? Wrong. When this news came out, Amazon “would not confirm,” per Deadline, that they were leading the sophomore season.

So, it’s up in the air, and based on what happened in Season 1, I’ll be shocked if Off Campus doesn’t give Dean and Allie Season 2.

Off Campus Season 1 Already Covered So Much Of Dean And Allie’s Book

When it was revealed in Episode 5 that Dean and Allie were together, I literally (and I’m not exaggerating) screamed. That’s because the New York trip at Thanksgiving happens about 60% into their book, The Score, and after they’ve been hooking up for a while.

Then, in Episode 6 of this sexually explicit Prime Video program, we get a massive flashback that shows us what Dean and Allie had been up to while we were spending time with Hannah and Garrett. This included Dean telling Allie to call him when she broke up with Sean, and it indeed saw Allie calling Dean when that breakup happened.

They proceeded to hook up (which is what happens in the book), and their fling commenced. To be blunt, this one episode covered a lot of their novel, and even included multiple sex scenes and the iconic bathtub moment. However, they still have a lot of story left, and it felt like the groundwork for a season led by Stephen Kalyn and Mika Abdalla’s characters.

Season 1 Ended On A Cliffhanger Involving Allie And Dean

Now, Bridgerton’s season endings tend to foreshadow the next lead, but not in the most obvious way. Meanwhile, Off Campus slapped us right in the face with a cliffhanger directly related to Dean and Allie.

While Hannah and Garrett got their happy ending, Dean and Allie’s drama turned up thanks to the introduction of Hunter Davenport. In the final seconds of the season, it was revealed that the guy Allie hooked up with during her break from Dean was his biggest rival and potentially worst enemy, Hunter Davenport. Now, not only will Dean have to deal with him being on his team, but he’ll also have to reckon with the fact that he hooked up with the girl he likes.

It was big drama to end the season on, and I think it’d be ridiculous if Season 2 didn’t pick up right where it left off. We are right in the middle of Dean and Allie’s story, with the juiciest parts of their book yet to be adapted. Plus, with the introduction of Hunter, the stakes couldn’t be higher.

So, to me, it makes no sense for Logan and Grace to be next. I can’t see them stretching Dean and Allie’s story across three seasons like that. Therefore, I’m fully convinced we’re getting their season next, and if I’m wrong, I’ll be upset.

One of the things that surprised me most about the book-to-screen adaptation of Off Campus was Dean and Allie’s relationship. Notably, the book series doesn’t see them get together until the third novel, which is the story focused on them. However, in the show that just premiered on the 2026 TV schedule, the two characters’ fling began in Episode 5. So, I had to ask the actors who play the duo about their story moving up and the cliffhanger at the end of Season 1 involving them and the introduction of Hunter Davenport.

Stephen Kalyn And Mika Abdalla Open Up About Exploring Dean And Allie’s Relationship In Season 1 Of Off Campus

When I tell you I was shook when it was revealed at the end of Episode 5 that Dean and Allie were together, I’m being drop-dead serious. My jaw was on the floor. That's partly because I was surprised by the reveal in the context of the show, and it was also partly because I know that moment takes place more than halfway through their book, The Score.

Season 1 of Off Campus primarily follows Hannah and Garrett, who are the subjects of the first book in Elle Kennedy’s hockey romance series, The Deal. So, I wasn’t expecting Dean and Allie to get together yet. However, they did, and it worked really well. Speaking during CinemaBlend’s interviews with the Off Campus cast about this update and why it makes sense, Mika Abdalla, who plays Allie, told me:

Arguably, Dean and Allie’s relationship moving up is one of the reasons why Off Campus works so well. It juxtaposes Hannah and Garrett’s romance perfectly, and it sets us up future seasons in a thrilling way. As Abdalla said, the two tales are “interconnected,” so it made sense to mash them up a bit.

Dean and Allie’s story in Season 1 also lays some the groundwork for what's to come. There’s still a lot of The Score left to explore, and that’s the point Stephen Kalyn, who plays Dean, made:

I’m also excited to “get into that more,” and that’s especially true considering how Season 1 of Off Campus ends.

Off Campus’ Dean And Allie Actors Talked To Me About Hunter’s Introduction

During Season 1, after Allie broke up with Sean and started seeing Dean, she freaked out a bit about always being in a relationship. She needed to just hook up with someone and not fall into something deeper. So, she slept with Hunter Davenport (Charlie Evans), a guy who has contentious ties to Dean, who also happens to be his newest teammate. However, Allie didn't know any of that.

In fact, Hunter's true identity and connections were revealed in the final seconds of Season 1 of Off Campus, setting the stage for a dramatic arc involving him, Allie and Dean in Season 2. Speaking to that point, and what she’s excited to explore on this front, Abdalla told me:

From Allie’s perspective, I’m excited to see how she grapples with wanting to live a single life and her feelings for Dean. From Dean’s perspective, I cannot wait to see how Allie hooking up with his enemy-turned-new-teammate impacts him. According to Kalyn, it will be a “really interesting” dynamic to explore.

So, with all that being said, here’s hoping that Season 2 of this sexually explicit Prime Video series shifts its focus fully to Allie and Dean, because a lot has already happened between the two of them…and they’re just getting started.
