We’ve all had awkward days at work, but few can top Jennifer Garner casually biting part of a co-star’s ear during a fight scene. While promoting the 2026 TV schedule release of The Last Thing He Told Me Season 2, the actress shared one of the most unhinged on-set stories imaginable, revealing she didn’t need a refresher on her scene partner at all. The two already had a history that involved a very much “like Mike Tyson” ear loss.

While speaking at Apple TV’s press event in Santa Monica (via THR), Garner veered delightfully off-script and shared the story in front of a packed room, much to the visible disbelief of her The Last Thing He Told Me co-star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. What started as context for an intense scene quickly escalated into a jaw-dropping anecdote. She shared:

Yes, you read that right. The Elektra star bit his ear. Not a playful nibble. Not a “movie bite.” A full-on, documented chunk was missing from a human ear because both actors were operating under a “do whatever it takes” directive.

What makes the story even wilder is that nearly two decades later, Garner and that stunt performer, Sala Baker, found themselves reunited on the popular Apple TV original series. And instead of dialing things back, the Alias veteran star made it clear that history was repeating itself. She joked that the crew was visibly nervous during one of their first days shooting together, gently suggesting everyone be careful. Her response:

Neither Garner nor Baker had any interest in pulling their punches, and she was quick to reassure the crew that the best move was simply to clear out and let it happen. Baker, she added, stuck around for the entire new season of the upcoming book-to-screen adaptation, which suggests that whatever chaos that energy creates onscreen is very much intentional.

That’s when co-star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau finally hit pause on the story to ask the question everyone was probably already thinking: Did she really bite off part of someone’s ear? The Adam Project actress didn’t miss a beat:

Coster-Waldau reportedly looked genuinely horrified, jokingly asking his fellow The Last Thing He Told Me castmate and the audience why anyone in the room seemed impressed by this information. Garner, meanwhile, leaned fully into the moment, smiling as she half-warned him not to underestimate her.

Once you get past the shock value, though, the story actually lines up perfectly with the kind of work Garner has been doing lately. The Last Thing He Told Me operates on a strict no-half-measures philosophy, which makes her approach on set feel less unhinged and more on-brand. The mystery-thriller, available to stream with an Apple TV subscription, centers on Hannah Hall (Garner), a woman thrust into survival mode after her husband vanishes, leaving one instruction: “Protect her.” That intensity bleeds directly into her performance and explains why, when a fight scene calls for real desperation, she doesn’t play it safe. She commits.

The ear-biting anecdote is funny and absurd. But it’s also a reminder that beneath the affable talk-show energy and calm public persona is an actor who, when told to survive at all costs, will apparently do exactly that. Now, she's set to bring that same energy to the latest season of the upcoming original Apple TV show, ideally with fewer off-camera injuries this time around.

Jake Paul already had a boxing match in 2025, but I wasn't watching. His fight with Mike Tyson, who was clearly in no shape to be taking him on, left a sour taste in my mouth. I was burnt out watching Paul take on former legends or opponents much older or less experienced than him and was sure I wouldn't be tuning in to watch that any longer. I wonder if others felt the same, because for the first time in a very long time, he's taking a fight that will be a major challenge.

On December 19th, those with a Netflix subscription will get to see Jake Paul take on Anthony Joshua in a sanctioned professional fight. He lost me for a while but, after seeing the latest betting odds and looking into Joshua a bit, I'm clearing my calendar to watch this fight live.

Anthony Joshua Is An Overwhelming Favorite In His Fight With Jake Paul

British boxer Anthony Joshua may not have the same level of mainstream name recognition as Jake Paul, but he has established a reputation for himself in the boxing world. In 32 fights, he's 28-4 and has ended 25 of those fights by knockout. He was a gold medalist in boxing at the 2012 Olympic Games and, although that was over a decade ago, he has had a couple of high-profile fights a year since then and won a couple of championships.

In short, he's a legitimate professional boxer. While Joshua is still about seven years older than Jake Paul, early betting odds from Sportsbetting.ag list him as an overwhelming favorite to win the fight at -1500 odds. The odds of Joshua beating Paul are so high that most bettors wouldn't consider taking that, opting instead to go for Paul as the underdog at +800. For those who have no frame of reference for what these odds mean, Paul was a -225 favorite to beat Mike Tyson, according to ESPN, and he dominated the majority of that bout.

Either We'll See Jake Paul Humbled, Or He'll Solidify Himself As A Legitimate Fighter

Jake Paul was the subject of controversy earlier this year when he was added to professional boxing rankings, with critics having all sorts of takes. While some have noted that he's done enough for the sport to earn a chance to compete for a title, few fans of the sport have recognized his string of high-profile wins as worthy of such an honor.

Should Jake Paul take on Anthony Joshua and hold his own, it would go a long way with critics in establishing him as a legitimate professional fighter. If, and I think it's a big if, he pulls off a win, I think he's worthy of making a legitimate challenge for a title shot.

For those hoping to see Paul get knocked out and humbled on a national scale, the sports betting odds so far say there's a good chance of that happening. We've seen him take down a lot of MMA legends on the road to this moment, so it would be great to see some of his biggest supporters finally admit he still has a ways to go before taking on a legitimate professional in the boxing space. I have to give his camp credit, as they know how to rope people in!

Both fighters were present at U.S. President Donald Trump's celebratory gala following his inauguration. While one might assume these two would steer clear of each other following their bout (which is available to stream with a Netflix subscription), that's not the case. In fact, these two appeared thick as thieves as a viral video showed Paul hoisting Tyson onto his shoulders while brother Logan Paul filmed. Take a look:

That's a genuinely wild video, considering that months ago, Mike Tyson was on talk shows and discussing how he intended to hurt Jake Paul badly. Of course, as Katt Williams hilariously pointed out, he's $20 million richer for throwing a handful of punches and not getting knocked out. I'd imagine that kind of cash would repair any rivalry, and I'd probably hoist my worst enemy on my shoulders for that kind of cash.

The exchange between the two is so wild that it's easy to miss Evander Holyfield later in the video posing next to the two of them. If he and Tyson can put the whole ear-biting incident in the past, then I'd think that any tension between Jake Paul would be easy to let go of. It is just a fight, after all, regardless of all the trash talk that occurs leading up to it.

Speaking of rivals, Conor McGregor was at the gala as well and also found some time to meet up with the Paul brothers. Take a look at the photo they all snapped below:

The meeting is interesting, considering that Conor McGregor is reportedly in talks to have a boxing match with Logan Paul in India later this year. However, critics remain skeptical the former MMA champion will ever fight again. The bout has been promoted as a $500 million match for the fighters and, given the immense amount of money Paul stands to make, I could understand why he'd step away from upcoming WWE events to participate in it.

As of writing, there's no official date or bout between the two listed, though it's been said the fight would be an exhibition. I would question how interested the world would be in watching the bout, having just seen the result of Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson. Speaking of Tyson and Paul, this recent video doesn't exactly confirm that they're best friends. Still, it appears that the two men are indeed chummy, and that would make for quite the interesting bookend to this sports saga.

From complaints about tech problems to people claiming the fight was rigged, needless to say, the event didn’t go quite how anyone expected, even “Iron Mike” himself, who recently admitted to feeling a bit “depressed” following the much-talked-about loss to Paul.

Speaking candidly on Fox Sports Radio (later shared on their YouTube channel), Tyson revealed the toll the event took on him emotionally. The buildup, the fight, and the aftermath all created a rollercoaster experience that left the former heavyweight champ feeling unexpectedly down. He revealed to the hosts:

For Tyson, who has experienced countless highs and lows both inside and outside the ring, this bout represented more than just another fight—it was a profoundly personal journey. After training for nearly a year, the match seemed to dominate his mental and physical focus. However, the abrupt transition back to everyday life left him grappling with a sense of loss and stagnation.

The legendary fighter faced off against Jake Paul at AT&T Stadium in mid-November, a matchup initially scheduled for July. The fight was postponed after the ring legend suffered a medical event on a plane, a severe ulcer flare-up, but the delay only heightened anticipation. When the bout finally happened, it was streamed live to everyone with a Netflix subscription, where an incredible 65 million viewers worldwide tuned in to witness the iconic fighter’s return after a 19-year break.

When asked how he would respond to critics suggesting he held back or even threw the fight, the Hall-of-Famer offered a surprising and candid admission:

Tyson’s honesty is refreshing, but comedian Katt Williams might have nailed the best take on the fight. Why did Mike step into the ring? Well, 20 million reasons make a pretty convincing case. Not too bad for “throwing 18 punches,” right?

Meanwhile, Jake Paul seems determined to solidify his place in professional boxing, with his sights reportedly set on Canelo Alvarez. However, his victory over “The Baddest Man on the Planet” might not have done him any favors in that department. Even Roy Jones Jr. commented during the bout that Paul didn’t exactly look like he belonged in the ring.

For fans of combat sports, Mike Tyson’s transparency is a powerful reminder of the emotional weight carried by even the greatest athletes, whether they win or lose. Who knows? If you're Mike Tyson right now, you have millions from the fight and a lot of people on the Internet defending your loss. Either they acknowledge the health issues he suffered were a little greater than everyone was led to believe or claim that the fight was rigged for Paul to win.

Sure, winning the fight would've been great for Mike Tyson. But, at the same time, his days as a competitive boxer are over, and it's not like he would've used that to springboard a career resurgence. He took this match because it meant a large payday, and he could get through the entire fight without getting knocked out or seriously injured. As Katt Williams said, it's a blessing, and I'd like to think the veteran boxer is happy enough.

Jake Paul, meanwhile, has been eyeing a fight with Canelo Alvarez and attempting to further legitimize his claim to being a professional boxer. One could argue that the victory against Tyson hasn't helped Paul in that regard, as Roy Jones Jr. even noted during the match that the boxer did not look suited to be in the ring.

Until the YouTuber commits to fighting professional fighters of his relative age, strength, and experience, I think the criticism surrounding his fights will continue. Who knows, maybe the 2025 TV schedule will feature a bout with him that changes the hearts and minds of combat sports fans. I know that Tommy Fury, who defeated Paul previously, has been talking about a rematch. Maybe that will be the next big fight that Netflix sets up?

Whatever the case is there, though, both the viral media personality and Mike Tyson walked away with some solid change in their pockets. Katt Williams never misses a cue when it comes to his sharp observations, and I'm curious as to whether or not Tyson himself would indeed agree with the First Sunday star's take.

A lot of viewers were struggling to watch Tyson vs. Paul with their Netflix subscriptions the night of the fight due to tech issues. However, the bout has more recently been a topic of discussion for another reason. In the aftermath of Paul's decisive win over the boxing legend, many have suggested and even shared clips suggesting that the fight was rigged or scripted so the younger fighter would win. As talk about this continues, the fight organization responsible for the event shared a statement.

Most Valuable Promotions hopes to be a part of the live sports entertainment space and provide more must-see events for the 2025 TV schedule. As it prepares to do that, it seems the organization has taken offense to suggestions that Paul v. Tyson was handled similarly to a WWE match than an actual boxing event. Amidst claims that Tyson held back or was contractually obligated not to knock out Jake Paul, the company released the following message:

Via the statement Most Valuable Promotions went on to say that it would not risk its reputation and ability to work on more events in the future by rigging a match against the rules stated by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations. Doing so would land them in a lot of trouble, especially with how much legitimate money that celebrities (including Shaquille O'Neal) lost in the fight.

It could be argued that MVP has a vested interest in protecting Jake Paul's reputation, as the young fighter has aspirations for another big fight after beating Mike Tyson. Co-founder of the company, Nakisa Bidarian, spoke out specifically in Paul's defense, noting that this has happened all throughout the boxer's career:

While there have been accusations made across the Internet about the fight supposedly being rigged, Jake Paul has faced similar complaints with his past fights. When it came to this latest bout, Mike Tyson was still regarded as a legend of the boxing world, but he was thirty years older than his opponent at the time of the fight and had a notable reach disadvantage. Earlier this year, Tyson also suffered a medical event on a plane, which forced the match to be rescheduled to later in the year.

Before this fight, Jake Paul challenged older former UFC champions and other professional fighters with the caveat that they would only take him on in a boxing bout. When addressing her colleagues, Stone expressed significant enthusiasm over the success of the Paul/Tyson bout. In fact, I just found out Shaq lost quite a bit of money by betting on Tyson. Yet that significant loss of cheddar didn’t stop the former athlete from hanging with Paul after the fight.

What Did Shaq Say About How Much He Bet On The Paul/Tyson Fight?

Some may be aware that Inside the NBA’s Charles Barkley is a gambler, and doesn’t care what people think about his hobby. Though he apparently doesn’t put down cash on the table like his co-star does, Shaq has put down his share of bets in his time as well. Before Paul vs. Tyson, “The Diesel” popped up on The Dan Patrick Show to discuss a few topics. Talk eventually turned to the highly promoted bout, which Shaq was sure Tyson would win. He also revealed that he bet a reasonably hefty on the fight:

Ultimately, that just wasn’t the case, though, and Shaquille O’Neal is out of a lot of money as a result. I’d personally feel a way if I’d lost all of those “pennies,” though the former Los Angeles Laker didn’t seem too disappointed. Well, that’s the impression one gets based on a social media post that dropped sometime after the fight.

We can only speculate on that front, but best believe that I’m going to continue holding off on betting any of my cash on fights.

I don't think he's alone in that sentiment, as many want to see the icon pull through rather than suffer a defeat to someone as antagonistic and, as some would say, as unworthy as Paul, considering the difference in accolades between the two.

Betting Sites Have Jake Paul As The Overall Favorite To Win

It could also be that Sylvester Stallone loves rooting for the underdog, because Mike Tyson is certainly that based on the odds circulating around betting sites. DraftKings currently has Jake Paul as a -200 favorite to win the bout, which means he's being given 66.67% odds of winning. That's not substantial favoritism over Tyson, but the odds are much higher than some may believe.

As someone who observed both Tyson and Paul's public workouts, I can say that while the former is the more skilled fighter, age will be a factor in the bout. Tyson looked pretty sweaty after just a three-minute workout, and even with shorter rounds for this boxing match, he stands a good chance of getting exhausted much quicker than Jake Paul.

I think for Tyson to win he'll have to go hard early, and hope he can land a knockout using his superior techniques to get through to Paul.

I've heard from many people that they're expecting Tyson to knock Paul out, but Vegas has the odds of that happening at +250, which is highly unlikely. The implied probability of that happening is 28.57%. As a betting man, I'd feel iffy about taking those odds, but I've seen them hit before! We will see what happens soon enough!

Mike Tyson Can Box Circles Around Jake Paul

I don't claim to be a professional boxing analyst but, right off the bat, it was clear who the more technically proficient fighter of the two was. Mike Tyson may be the elder statesman and well past his prime but, during the workouts, those iconic combos looked as devastating as they were decades ago. Tyson seemed to be emphasizing quick head jabs to weave and set up body combos, and that now leads me to think that Lennox Lewis was spot on in guessing that Tyson might use those to slow down his younger opponent. I was also shocked by just how fast Tyson moved, especially in comparison to his opponent.

Jake Paul moved slower and, having watched both workouts back to back, was jarring to see his lack of technical skills. His fastest succession of punches was a quick one-two combo up top, but there was almost zero weaving or anything more complex than just throwing hard punches. He didn't look like someone who could stand against a contemporary championship fighter. So, if I were him, I'd rethink his plan for what would come next if he beat Mike Tyson.

Tyson Was Sweating Profusely At The End Of His Short Workout

For as good as Mike Tyson looked in the ring, I have to point out that he was sweating profusely by the end of the session. That was a bit concerning to me, because the sparring session was only about three minutes. It now seems clear why the veteran wanted shorter rounds for the fight, and I think there's a good chance of him gassing out early should this go beyond a third round. All of that said, Jake Paul wasn't exactly hopping around at the end of his session either, so maybe that extra weight he's put on will factor into his stamina as well.

Paul Is Bigger, And He Seemed To Be Hitting Harder

While I should emphasize that this was a training session, it seemed clear that Jake Paul was throwing harder punches during his session compared to Mike Tyson. Even if it doesn't mean much, I don't think there's any denying who the physically superior of the two is in this training session. To me, it seems as though Paul has made sure to bulk himself as much as possible to withstand Tyson's devastating blows and hope he can take over the fight in the latter rounds and throw some devastating haymakers.

Of course, that's also assuming that the YouTuber is taking this fight seriously enough to have a game plan. And, considering the fact that he was wearing a chicken wig and still trolling "Iron Mike" during the training, I have to question how dialed in the viral sensation is.

We'll see who beats who when Jake Paul and Mike Tyson fight in their Netflix bout on Friday, November 15th. I'm very excited to watch this fight, and I still have no idea who will come out on top. Ultimately, I think it'll depend on what happens in the early rounds, so be sure to pay close attention.

My biggest question following this fight is what will come next for Netflix if it's as big of an event as it seems to be. During one-off events, will we get future fights with Jake Paul or other big names on the platform? With the platform acquiring WWE's Monday Night Raw in 2025 and some NFL games, it seems there is a big push for it to obtain live content, so I would love to see what other big fights could be scheduled in the coming years.

After sharing some broad strokes of his training regimen and why he wanted to fight the young athlete, Kimmel honed in and asked the veteran what he'd been dancing around the whole interview, if he's going to "beat" Paul in the ring. To which Tyson said:

Now, Mike Tyson has said he could beat Jake Paul while speaking at prior press events, but something was chilling about how he said it in this latest TV interview. It's like we're seeing the re-emergence of "Iron Mike" and not just the funny and slightly goofy Tyson that actors like Russell Crowe are concerned we'll lose with this bout.

I think that version of the fighter has always been in there, of course, but I can certainly sense a more aggressive change in his demeanor and how serious he is about this upcoming fight.

Jake Paul Posted A Video Lifting Fake Weights While Wearing A Fat Suit

I'd argue that Jake Paul has taken this fight more seriously than some of his past contests, but I guess it was only a matter of time before his iconic trolling tendencies started to come out. After Tyson previously called him "Fat and funky" at a promotional Netflix press event, Paul seemingly responded on Instagram with the following video:

The video shows Jake Paul in some sort of fat suit, which makes his stomach appear larger than it actually is. Additionally, he's bench-pressing an insane amount of weight, though the plates seem to be props and just for show rather than actual strength training. It'd be a strange video for any other fighter outside of Paul to post, but his fans are used to this kind of stuff.

It looks like Jake Paul is back to trolling Mike Tyson, which I've said previously would be a mistake. The last thing he wants to do is poke the bear and have Tyson believing Paul doesn't consider him a serious contender. I think that's liable to make the former champ train even harder, though he's already intending to beat Paul "very Badly." Is there a worse outcome for the YouTuber than that?

Unless Tyson actually meant he would going to do a very bad job of beating Paul, which doesn't seem confident AT ALL. So we'll assume it's the other way around.

We shall watch and continue to watch other upcoming Netflix shows and movies while waiting for Paul vs. Tyson on Friday, November 15th. I'm eager to see the two fight, and I really hope we're not in for another delay and can finally see if experience can overcome age in the boxing ring.

The most-hyped televised fight of 2024 is happening this fall, or at least that's the plan right now. Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul is hitting Netflix's upcoming lineup on its rescheduled date of November 15th, which isn't far away, but what happens if Tyson has to back out, as it went when he had a medical emergency over the summer? It's a question worth asking, and Paul was able to give a definitive answer on the current contingency plan, in a manner of speaking.

On the heels of Joey Chestnut and Takeru Kobayashi facing off in the live Unfinished Beef special, fans with Netflix subscriptions want to know what to expect for the next big showdown on the streamer if one of the fighters cannot perform. Jake Paul spoke to TMZ Sports about the current backup plan, and whether or not he's concerned about Mike Tyson's readiness, saying:

Having zero backup plan for the eventuality of Mike Tyson being unavailable seems risky, though not entirely surprising. When Tyson missed the original fight date, plans were quickly made for Jake Paul to face bare-knuckle brawler Mike Perry.

Despite it happening on the original date, Netflix did not stream that replacement fight, and it didn't take place in AT&T Stadium, the venue reserved for Tyson vs. Paul. Given that, and the fact that there still aren't any backup plans this time around, it would seem like if these two fighters aren't going to trade blows, Netflix still wouldn't be interested in carrying any substitutions.

Thus far, Mike Tyson hasn't given any reason to suspect he'll be anything less than 100% come fight day. While he was reportedly dealing with complications from an ulcer when the fight was first postponed, he's been pretty active as of late. In addition to uploading pictures from training, Tyson is attending many events, so he's seemingly feeling well enough for this big bout come November.

While his age is a factor, Tyson has asked for certain accommodations made for this match to help compensate for fighting someone thirty years younger than him. The fight will have shorter rounds to encourage both fighters to push the pace, which could prevent Paul from hanging back early and hoping to tire the legend out before starting to fight. Even so, professional boxing matches can be taxing, and we won't know how tired Tyson will or won't be until we see this match.

All we know is that Mike Tyson feels confident he can win and that he was once one of the greatest boxers who ever lived. Whether his past experience will be enough to take on Jake Paul is the big question everyone has and one that some, like actor Russell Crowe, would rather not see answered. In any case, there's no denying that the intrigue is still there to see how this all shakes out and if this fight will happen.

He's basically living out the plot of Rocky Balboa in real life, and I can't think of a bigger adventure than that.

Perhaps what's happening here is that we're seeing Mike Tyson marry the first act of his life to the second. Based on all his responses to the press so far and his fight training videos, he still seems like a fierce competitor. Plus, the money he's making from the Jake Paul bout will almost surely pay for a lot more creative endeavors for the fighter and maybe cybernetic enhancements to improve his body for a rematch should he lose the fight. Hey, Tyson can be a wild dude. I would not put it past him to look into becoming a cyborg!

The former Heavyweight Champion is reportedly healthy and ready to put his gloves back on, and Paul is, of course, still game for what should be the most hyped and most lucrative fight of his boxing career. Just don’t call it the pinnacle of his career though.

Paul was asked about his goals in boxing during the fighters’ shared press conference at New York City’s Fanatics Fest, and let the record show, he is definitely not done after Mike Tyson. Paul has taken an extremely untraditional route up the boxing ladder since he started his journey fighting other social media stars, but at some point, he apparently wants to step on a more traditional path and start fighting for championships. Here’s what he said… 

Ordinarily, you wouldn’t double take at hearing a successful fighter with a 10-1 record wants to be world champion, but in the case of Paul, it’s extremely noteworthy because it would likely mean a pivot to that more conventional path. Traditionally, if you want to get started in the ring, you take some under-under-undercard fights against relatively innocuous opponents. Then, you use the strength of those wins to progress your way up the card until, eventually, you start getting the chance to fight people fans may have heard of. If you win those, then you start fighting other leading contenders and, if all goes well, get a crack at a world championship at some point and maybe even a headlining slot on a pay-per-view.

That’s not what Jake Paul has done up to this point, however. After beating up some of his fellow YouTubers and viciously KOing former NBA star Nate Robinson, Paul started fighting aging MMA stars with big resumes and light boxing experience in events his company organized and put on. To date, he’s fought and beaten the likes of Nate Diaz, Anderson Silva, Tyron Woodley, all in highly publicized PPVs he’s assumedly made a very healthy profit off of. The next of those fights is against Mike Tyson, the biggest name of them all, and it promises to be the most publicized event of Paul’s career. It’s scheduled to take place in AT&T Stadium, which has a capacity of 80,000, and it will be streamed live on Netflix. 

Mike Tyson is obviously one of the most feared and respected heavyweight boxers of all-time, but he’s also pushing 60 and is roughly 30 years older than Jake Paul. The rules have been modified to account for that with two minute rounds instead of three. Fans aren’t quite sure what to expect, as Paul will obviously have a huge speed advantage but could be in trouble if he runs into a big punch, given he’s had 44 knockouts over the course of his career. 

Regardless, and with all due respect to Tyson who is an absolute legend, it’ll still be a sideshow attraction type fight. The jury is still very much out as to whether Paul can compete with real boxers his own age, especially since the one time he tried against Tyson Fury, he lost in a controversial split decision, despite knocking Fury down once. If he wants to pursue championships, he’s going to face a lot tougher competition, and that’s to say nothing of Canelo Alvarez, who he also called out. 

Alvarez is 61-2-2 in his boxing career, but he also typically fights at around 160 pounds. Jake Paul was 200 pounds during his last fight and is rumored to be trying to go up to 220 or 230 for his fight against Tyson. So, Paul could go down that road, which Alvarez might be down for given it could be a huge payday, but that would once again represent a sideshow/ attraction type fight, given the big weight difference. Or he could pursue the more traditional path and start taking on boxers his own size. 

We’ll just have to wait and see what Paul’s next move is. If he beats Tyson, he should have his pick of opponents, whether he wants to go the traditional route or not. 

Earlier this year, it was announced that Mike Tyson and Jake Paul would duke it out in the ring for a live streamed event that would be available to Netflix subscription holders. Plans changed, however, after 58-year-old Tyson suffered a medical emergency, and the bout was delayed from July to November 2024. Tyson seems to be doing well now, and the match is currently set to proceed as scheduled. Amid the hype surrounding the show, plenty of notable fighters have been weighing in on the proceedings, and former Tyson opponent Kevin McBride is the latest to do so. McBride emphatically dropped an F-bomb while giving 27-year-old YouTuber Paul some crucial advice.

Kevin McBride is a member of the select group of combatants who can say they’ve beaten Mike Tyson in the ring. So it’s fair to wonder just what kind of words of wisdom he has to offer Paul as he prepares to do battle with “Iron Mike” himself. McBride discussed the topic during a recent interview with Instant Casino (via The Mirror). When discussing the advice he’d give to Jake Paul, the 51-year-old ex-Irish fighter immediately provided two major notes. And that’s when he dropped that aforementioned expletive, which he seemingly used to greatly emphasize his point:

Back in 2005, Mike Tyson and Kevin McBride came to blows in a televised, six-round event, which ended with the latter fighter claiming victory. Believe it or not, Tyson retired after that fight, and his upcoming match with the social media maven will be his first professional match since then. As noted by The Mirror, Tyson used up too much energy throughout his and McBride’s event, allowing his opponent to get the upper hand. McBride went on to share more thoughts about what the Mainstream alum should do when he faces Tyson:

Shortly after the fight was announced, Jake Paul took to trolling his opponent – a move that may or may not have been all that wise. Tyson has also returned to his trash-talking ways, even sharing NSFW thoughts when seeking to intimidate his opponent. One can only speculate as to whether the Cleveland native will take what Kevin McBride said to heart. It may end up being invaluable when that bell finally rings months from now. I know that I’m eager to see whether the social media personality has what it takes to go toe to toe with a former World Heavyweight champion.

It was another good night for Jake Paul. The influencer turned boxer delivered his latest KO, this time to journeyman MMA fighter Mike Perry in the sixth round, but not everyone watching at home was impressed by his victory. In fact, UFC star turned actor Conor McGregor, no stranger to boxing himself, hit up social media afterwards and absolutely unloaded on Paul. 

In an extended rant, McGregor called Paul out for his weight advantage, heavily implied he was taking performance enhancing drugs and criticized him for calling out Mike Tyson post-fight, given the legend’s age and recent major health problems. It’s pretty clear how McGregor feels about Paul, but why he felt the need to call him out so aggressively is still an open question. Some are, of course, saying he’s probably angling for his own fight down the road, but there’s also just a distinct chance he’s out here hating for the love of being a hater. McGregor has never been one to hold back his feelings on any issues, and Jake Paul is certainly someone who inspires a lot of feelings, even from those involved in the sport who don’t traditionally speak their minds as often as McGregor.

The main complaints about Paul are typically centered around his choice of opponents. Rather than taking on professional boxers, the influencer has typically taken on bigger name MMA fighters who aren’t as experienced with boxing. As a general rule, these fighters have also been older and many of them have given up a weight advantage. In this most recent fight, Mike Perry weighed in at 196 pounds and change, while Paul weighed in at exactly 200. That might not sound like a big difference, but Perry actually fought at 184 for a fight earlier this year and Paul was reportedly around 230 pounds when his fight with Tyson was cancelled. Not surprisingly, during the actual fight, Paul looked noticeably bigger than Perry.

As for McGregor, his career seems to be at a bit of a crossroads. He ventured into acting for a well-received turn in the Road House remake, but his return to the UFC Octagon was cancelled when he had to pull out of a fight due to an injury. Some fans think we’ll never see the popular Irishman square up again, but McGregor himself is convinced he’ll return sometime later this year once he heals up. 

A possible fight between McGregor and Paul would have its own huge size difference. McGregor typically fights at around 170 pounds, while Paul had to really cut weight to make the 200 pound cut-off for the Perry fight. Given the hypothetical match-up would sell an insane number of PPVs and fill a big arena, however, you can never totally take it off the table.

We’ll see. In the short-term, Paul seems very focused on fighting Mike Tyson. Their original bout was scheduled to be broadcast by Netflix and would have easily been the highest profile moment of Paul’s career, even if it wouldn’t have exactly helped with the allegations that he only fights people who are past their primes.

In kind, Logan has repeatedly defended his brother in the press and attended several of his fights. Their personalities seem pretty different, at least to those of us on the outside, but there’s clearly a lot of love and admiration there.

Unfortunately for Paul, what was once shaping up to be the biggest summer of his boxing career has withered. He was originally scheduled to fight Mike Tyson in a bout that was being streamed on Netflix. It was scheduled to take place at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, which is where the Cowboys play their home games. No one knew exactly how many people would tune in or buy tickets, but it seemed likely to be a huge success, as the media coverage and social media hype was palpable.

Unfortunately, Tyson, who is 58 years old, suffered a medical incident on a plane. He was later diagnosed with an ulcer that had flared up, and doctors pulled him from the fight. Right now, the bout is tentatively supposed to take place down the road, but given the general public’s apprehension about the thirty year age gap and Tyson’s recent medical issues, many of us are in wait and see mode.

Against all odds, Paul has turned himself into one of the biggest draws in the entire boxing and MMA world. He started out fighting the likes of former NBA star Nate Robinson in a sort of sideshow spectacle and later pivoted into boxing against aging MMA stars and retired boxers. Initially, many fans tuned in hoping to see him finally get knocked out, but as he’s stacked up the wins and vicious KOs, he’s started to build a real following. His fight with Tyson, one of the biggest names in combat sports history, looked like the potential apex of it all. Now, he’s got to focus on beating Mike Perry to maintain his aura and attract another big money fight afterwards, whether it’s with Tyson or someone else.

Jake Paul might be thirty years younger than Mike Tyson, but his professional boxing career has partly been built on fights against less experienced opponents or MMA fighters who aren't as used to strictly boxing. This is to say, they may not be able to throw punches with the same power as Tyson, and Roy Jones Jr. had a bold prediction for what would happen if Tyson lands one of his signature hits on Paul's chin:

While some express doubt the big fight will ever happen, Jake Paul seems confident. It also seems like he'll continue to troll the fighter as he recovers, which I wouldn't advise. If a tough fighter like Roy Jones Jr. is saying Tyson's hits felt like a mule kick only a few years back, I too will be curious to see if Paul can actually take a punch of that magnitude.

The wrestling legend is advocating for the boxer after a medical emergency during a flight prevented him from honoring his original fight date this summer. While Tyson recovers, Hogan is reminding people he's called "Iron" Mike Tyson for a reason. 

The Hulkster took some time out of his day to speak to TMZ about the fight, which, as mentioned, was moved on the 2024 TV schedule to stream live in November for those with a Netflix subscription. The hosts asked about the vast 30-year age difference between the fighters and if that will impact the outcome of the fight, and Hogan made it pretty clear how he feels about that: 

Beyond being friends with Mike Tyson and Jake Paul, Hulk Hogan has another bizarre connection to this potential super fight. Hogan has alleged for years that Vince McMahon wanted to have him face off against Tyson in 1990 in the WWE, but as Atletifo noted, plans were derailed when Tyson lost to Buster Douglas in the Tokyo Dome. McMahon extended the offer to Douglas, who then served as a guest referee in a match between Hogan and Randy Savage on Saturday Night's Main Event. 

While Jake Paul has gone to great lengths to dismiss rumors of fake rules and rigging the fight for entertainment, Hulk Hogan confirmed he did ask the brother of United States Champion Logan Paul if that was what was happening here. Unsurprisingly, he got the same answer from The Problem Child he's given publicly to those who have asked the same: 

I believe Jake Paul when he says that, beyond the fact that he's had no problem knocking out older fighting champions prior to this. The fighter helped his brother Logan when he took on Roman Reigns at Crown Jewel in 2022, and he threw the weakest fake punch I've ever seen in a pro wrestling bout. I'm not sure Jake Paul could fake a fight if he tried, giving him no choice but to go all-out on Mike Tyson. 

It should also be noted that while Paul was trolling Tyson at first, he's actually put on quite a bit of weight for the fight. For all the criticism he gets for his choice of opponents and antics, it does legitimately seem like he was preparing for a real fight with the legend and hoping he didn't get defeated by someone decades older than him. Hopefully, we will eventually get to see these two square off, and maybe Hulk Hogan can be ringside to deliver a leg drop to whoever loses.

Perry secured a 14-8 record in the UFC before exiting after a slew of controversies outside of the octagon, including a video in which he was heard using racial slurs. 

The 32-year-old Perry later joined the BKFC, where he currently holds an undefeated record with wins over notable fighters like Luke Rockhold, Eddie Alvarez, and Thiago Alves. At this time, the details of the alleged bout are unknown, but Perry is much closer in age to Jake Paul and, some would argue, a much more challenging opponent than many he's previously faced. 

Is The November Fight With Mike Tyson Still Happening?

Mike Perry fighting Jake Paul on July 20th feels like Mike Tyson was just replaced, which isn't uncommon in the fighting world. What remains to be seen is whether Paul will turn around and fight Tyson in November, which was the rescheduled date of the big Netflix live event. 

While some pro fighters like to take some time between fights, Jake Paul hasn't historically had a problem with fighting just a few months removed from his previous fight. ESPN reports he fought three times in 2023, with the gap between his bouts with Nate Diaz and Andre August similar to the gap he'd see between Mike Perry and Mike Tyson. 

Based on that, and the fact that there's still a ton of opinions surrounding Jake Paul and Mike Tyson, I would imagine we'll still see these two fight in November with a Netflix subscription, provided both fighters are healthy. Despite his health problems, Tyson was still throwing shade at Paul, so I imagine he'll show up for that fight come hell or high water. 

For now, we'll await further confirmation that Mike Perry is Jake Paul's next opponent on July 20th and whether we'll see it on Netflix at AT&T Stadium or elsewhere. Through further details reported by Netflix’s in-house publication Tudum, anyone who’s purchased tickets to see Paul vs. Tyson in person doesn’t have to worry about rebooking their seats. However, those who may be unable to make the currently unscheduled makeup date will be able to get refunds through the relevant point of sale.

With that said, Paul is training to fight at the heavyweight level, and McGregor has only fought at welterweight at maximum in his career, which is a full three weight classes under. While I want to believe Paul that the Tyson fight will still happen, I wouldn't blame the streamer if calls were already going out to plan who could potentially step in for Tyson if he's ultimately unable to be in the ring.

Tyson has been the center of conversation ever since he agreed to box Jake Paul in July, with everyone from UFC boss Dan White to recent Road House co-star Connor McGregor voicing an opinion on the bout. Naturally, the moment that news of Tyson’s medical flare up made the rounds, fans became concerned that this might jeopardize the sporting event, so Tyson’s reps had to weight in. 

First, Mike Tyson’s reps had to clear up a prevalent rumor that the boxer’s medical emergency was the reason that the flight to L.A. was delayed more than two hours. As it turns out, the flight was delayed due to an air conditioning malfunction, and had nothing to do with Tyson’s health. As for Mike Tyson’s Sunday night complications, his representatives have said, in a statement issued to The Mirror:

That’s all well and good, but what does this mean for Mike Tyson’s planned fight against Jake Paul in July? However, that changed at the recent press conference held in promotion of the fight.

The Hangover alum took more than a few jabs at the YouTuber when they were sitting at the podium and addressing the press. While throwing verbal haymakers at the 27-year-old (as seen on YouTube), Mike Tyson shot down the notion that his adversary is in his prime. In his mind, the social media maven – who has notably gained weight before the fight – isn’t “lean and mean, he’s fat and funky.” What might’ve really stood out to the crowd, though, is a NSFW comment Tyson made in regard to Paul’s dance video after hearing that his in-ring foe wanted to kiss him:

Anyone who was around to watch Mike Tyson in his prime surely know that he never minced words when it came to discussing other fighters, especially ahead of a fight. During one interview, which was captured on YouTube, Tyson didn’t hold back hold when sharing his belief that Lennox wouldn’t be able to match up to him:

White also asserted the belief that the YouTuber is only seeking to “make money” from the event and because he can’t sell a pay-per-view fight on his own, has to ring in opponents who can.

At the end of the day, none of us can truly say how the fight will ultimately go down. One can only hope that it’s a competitive bout that doesn’t see any harmful damage happen to either of the men involved. Chances are plenty of people will be tuning in come fight night but, given his comments of concern, it sounds like Deontay Wilder may not be joining them in doing so.

The general assumption heading into Mike Tyson and Jake Paul’s upcoming fight was that Iron Mike would go into it with a significant weight advantage. He’s historically fought at around 220 pounds, while Paul has laced up his gloves just shy of 200 pounds. Well, apparently that’s not going to be the case. Reports are now emerging that Paul has gained a significant amount of weight, and that could have a huge effect on how the fight plays out.

The weight report comes from boxing legend Sugar Shane Mosley. He recently sat down for a chat with fellow all-time great Roy Jones Jr, where the two talked about the recent Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney fight. During the conversation, the subject of Mike Tyson came up, and Mosley said he ran into Paul and was shocked by his weight gain. He said he’s all the way up to 230 pounds. Ron Jones Jr was clearly surprised by the news and said it could have a dramatic effect on the fight, as the extra bulk should help Paul absorb some of Tyson’s power. Jones Jr faced numerous all-time greats during his career but said the hardest punches he’s ever faced were body shots he took during an exhibition with a mid-50s Tyson several years ago.

Ordinarily, size is very important for a boxing match because the fighters both need to fit into a specific weight range, but Tyson has been a heavyweight throughout his career, which means he’s fought at whatever weight he’s wanted, as have his opponents. In most of those bouts, he’s given up a lot of height; so, his strategy has always been to get in close, nullifying any reach advantage. That allows him to bob and weave and land quick punches. During his prime, it was very difficult for his opponents to keep him away because he was so solid and sturdy. Most analysts thought he’d try to get in close and essentially push Paul around and land those devastating shots from in close, but if Paul is thirty pounds heavier than anticipated, it’s going to make muscling him harder and should allow him to weather more damage.

The tradeoff to adding more weight is you’re typically not as fast. Mosley said Paul claims he’s just as fast as he was at 185 or 190. I doubt that’s true, but if he hasn’t lost much speed, bulking up could prove to be the right call. Plus, given the huge age gap between the fighters, Paul can likely afford to lose a little speed.

That age gap is the biggest reason why the upcoming superfight, which is being streamed by Netflix, is controversial. Paul is thirty years younger than Tyson and has built a reputation fighting and typically knocking out older legends. Conversely, the Hall of Famer has had some exhibitions, but he hasn’t had a real fight in decades. He’s also had a well-documented history of health problems since retirement. His defenders, however, point to his legendary pedigree as former World Heavyweight Champion, as well as how seriously he’s taking the fight, as reasons the general public shouldn’t be so quick to write him off. According to Jones and others, his fists remain as powerful as they’ve ever been, and if he’s able to land a clean shot, it could lead to the first knockout of Paul’s career.

Exactly what that means for the fight’s outcome, however, is unclear. During his prime in the late 1980s, Tyson was the most feared boxer in the world and maybe the most feared boxer in history. He won his first 19 fights by knockout and won the World Heavyweight Championship at just 20. For a few years, he was considered unbeatable, but a string of personal losses and arrests ultimately derailed his career. How much he has left in his late 50s is unclear.

Jake Paul, on the other hand, is in his prime. The outspoken 27 year old has turned himself into a major draw, mostly boxing famous mixed martial arts fighters, but as he’s stacked up dominating performances and knockouts, he’s started to acquire more popularity and a more serious reputation. He's also acquired more than his share of critics who don't appreciate that he's mostly fought much older fighters. Tyson is, without question, the biggest name with the biggest resume he’s ever fought, but given the thirty year age gap, those critics have only gotten louder.

Ever since Netflix’s announcement of the Jake Paul/Mike Tyson fight, the internet has had some choice words to say about the matter. As we move closer to that event’s July 20th debut on the  2024 TV schedule, the noise surrounding the event has been building a steady head of buzz, even if it’s been a mostly negative affair. So surely the world would react to something like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson shaking hands with Jake Paul with composure and restraint, right? 

You’re absolutely correct if you laughed at that last sentence, as fans have not held back the snark after a photo from Wrestlemania saw these parties shaking hands. To be fair, The Rock seemed into the moment, even when posting the image of said happening with the following caption: 

One has to acknowledge just how tough people have been on Jake when it comes to his pivot from YouTube celebrity to up-and-coming boxer. Just look at the ridiculous rumors Paul debunked about his supposed “conditions” for fighting the six-time heavyweight champion.

For some, it’s hard to take this upcoming match-up seriously. Even UFC veteran Michael Page rejects the idea that this fight should even be happening. Meanwhile, the comments section of Dwayne Johnson’s photo has been pretty brutal for Jake Paul and The Rock himself.

One person that’s certainly taking this fight seriously is Jake Paul’s opponent. As seen in  Mike Tyson’s past comments, the sports legend has been putting in the work and preparing for the main event like he would any match. Some might even say that besides Paul himself, he’s the only other person whose viewpoint matters when it comes to this summer skirmish. 

Still, the internet is going to internet, and the feedback will probably get even louder the closer we get to ringside. The Hangover (2009)

Todd Phillips’ The Hangover helped further propel the careers of Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, and Zach Galifianakis upon its release in June '09 and instantly became one of the best movies of 2009 altogether. One of the reasons for this was Mike Tyson’s scene-stealing performance. In the movie, “Iron Mike,” plays a version of himself that is very close to the real thing, which adds a wild, dangerous, and unpredictable dynamic, especially when he gives the core trio another obstacle to overcome as they look for their missing friend.

Ip Man 3 (2015)

The Ip Man movies, starring martial arts legend Donnie Yen as the titular Wing Chun master, has given audiences all kinds of impressive fights and other great moments over the years. Ip Man 3, which was released in 2015, features what could be one of the best fight scenes in the series, as well as a great Mike Tyson appearance. 

Tyson plays a boxer and corrupt American property developer named Frank who challenges Ip Man to a fight about halfway through the movie. The contrast between the styles – boxing vs. Wing Chun – creates an incredible dynamic and one of the most grueling three-minute fights ever captured on film.

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (2013)

Mike Tyson provided one of his most emotional and unforgettable small-screen appearances during a 2013 episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. During the episode titled “Monster’s Legacy,” Tyson took on the role of Reggie Rhodes, a victim of child abuse who later murdered one of his attackers after dealing with years of trauma from the attacks. Though he’s only featured for a short while, Tyson makes the most of his time and provides a heartbreaking and gut-wrenching performance that’s up there with the best SVU guest appearances.

The Last O.G. (2020)

Tracy Morgan’s TBS comedy series, The Last O.G. had some great guest stars throughout its four-season run, and one of the best was Mike Tyson. Appearing in a pair of episodes, the boxer took on the role of Triple O.G., an over-the-top gangster who gave Morgan’s Tray Leviticus Barker some unorthodox yet much-needed advice. Again, he wasn’t on the show all that much, but he did give audiences some outrageously hilarious moments.

How I Met Your Mother (2013)

There were a lot of actors you may have forgotten were on How I Met Your Mother, and that includes Tyson. During the 2013 episode titled “Bad Crazy,” he, playing himself, saves the day by helping Robin (Cobie Smulders) take care of a baby. What’s so great about the concept is how the premise plays against type for Tyson and instead treats him like a kind, gentle, and misunderstood giant.

Entourage (2010)

Entourage was a show that was known for its outrageously funny celebrity cameos, and Mike Tyson could very well have one of the best. In the 2010 episode, “Bottoms Up,” the boxing legend approaches Ari Gold (Jeremy Piven) with an idea to repair his reputation: a new and improved version of The Brady Bunch. Though the attempt to get Jessica Simpson to sign on for the project blows up, we can still imagine just how great that would have been, especially in the show’s universe.

Mike Tyson Mysteries (2014 - 2020)

Though it may not be the best Adult Swim show, Mike Tyson Mysteries was one hell of an animated experience. Unlike other entries on this list, Tyson wasn’t just a cameo on the show, he was the main attraction of all 70 episodes. Playing a parody of himself, the show followed Tyson and his crew solving a variety of mysteries in a similar fashion to Scooby-Doo and other Hanna-Barbera classics. If you haven’t already, this is a must-watch with some immensely hilarious moments.

Who's The Boss? (1990)

Who knows if we’ll ever get the Who’s the Boss? revival series, but if we do, hopefully, Mike Tyson will come back for another great cameo. Back in 1990, Tyson showed up as himself at the very of the the episode titled “Sam Accelerates,” which saw him confront Tony Micelli (Tony Danza) after he heard someone had been making fun of him. The scene then turned into what could be the best freezeframe of the show as the credits rolled.

Rocky Balboa (2006)

We never got to see Mike Tyson fight Sylvester Stallone in a boxing match, but we did get to see the iconic bruiser show up for a brief moment in Rocky Balboa. No, Tyson doesn’t confront the aging “Italian Stallion,” but he is seen jawing off at Mason “The Line” Dixon (Antonio Tarver) before the climatic fight. It was brief, but the cameo did add a nice flash and sense of realism to the big bout.

Webster (1987)

Way back, when Tyson was still making a name for himself in the boxing world, he showed up on an episode of Webster. In 1987, “Iron Mike” crossed paths with Emmanuel Lewis’ beloved titular character and other members of the cast as he was caught in the middle of a family feud.

WrestleMania XIV (1998)

There have been so many celebrity appearances at WrestleMania over the years, and  Tyson’s involvement in the 14th annual Showcase of the Immortals is one of the most well-known and impactful of them all. In March 1998, Tyson served as the special outside enforcer and helped Stone Cold Steve Austin defeat Shawn Michaels and claim his first WWE Championship in the process. More than a quarter-century later, the image of Iron Mike turning on the Heartbreak Kid to help the Texas Rattlesnake is one wrestling fans remember fondly.

English boxer Olajide Olatunji a.k.a. KSI thinks it’s a “lose-lose situation” for two reasons. On the one hand, it wouldn’t look good if an older Mike Tyson was to get knocked out in the ring. And, on the other hand, he believes that if 36-year-old Jake Paul does win, he could forever be notorious for being the young man who KO’d Tyson. UFC boss Dana White also “isn’t thrilled” about the event, mostly due to the age difference between the participants. Despite that, White is also well aware why a fight like this would be in high demand. 

As for the two athletes themselves, both seem to be readying themselves for what’s to come. Mike Tyson dropped a training video that seems to indicate that he’s putting in work and taking the fight seriously, despite the fact that he’s fighting a former YouTuber. Jake Paul has been prepping in his own way and, while doing that, he’s also taken some time to troll Tyson (which may or may not be a good idea). 

It’s anyone’s guess as to how the fight between the pair will pan out, and I’m certainly curious as to what the end result will be. Ultimately though, what’s particularly intriguing is what kind of ripple effects it might have for the two people involved and boxing as a whole. The age concerns from Michael Page and others are still valid, though, and one hopes that neither boxer gets roughed up too seriously.

The UFC Featherweight and Lightweight Champion spoke to that point during his interview, which was shared to YouTube: 

I can’t help but wonder if Mike Tyson feels the same way in that regard. If anything though, his career as a fighter isn’t over just yet. Based on the tidbits he’s shared thus far, Tyson has been training hard for his fight with Jake Paul, who’s been trolling him since the bout was announced. While fans on social media seem eager to check out the fight, others aren’t so high on it. UFC boss Dana White isn’t thrilled over the prospect of Tyson taking on Paul, who is 31, but can see the appeal. Also, boxer KSI thinks this is a “lose-lose” for both men, as Tyson could get hurt and, if Paul wins, he’ll be notorious for being the man who knocked out an older man.

Still, Conor McGregor’s comments indicate that the Hangover alum has at least one high-profile name in his corner. I’m personally curious as to how McGregor continues to navigate his own career not only because of his age but because of his other activities. Not only is he a businessman, but he may also be on track to becoming a movie star thanks to his scene-stealing work in the Road House remake (which is streamable with a Prime Video subscription). Whatever happens though, hopefully, the path he walks down is one that he prefers.

Jake Paul has no problem trolling UFC President Dana White and others, but when it comes to someone taking shots at him on the internet, he's not very tolerant. The fighter caught wind of a viral TikTok making rounds which alleged to know the rules of the fight and how they heavily favored Paul. The rules mentioned included that Paul was allowed to tag in his brother Logan, who fought Floyd Mayweather, he could wear headgear and was not subjected to any weigh-in or drug testing for the bout. The post received 1.5 million likes and earned a response from Paul:

Jake Paul has compared himself to Mike Tyson and Muhammad Ali, so I'm not surprised to hear the rules were fake. It did seem highly suspect, though Paul didn't address it, that there would be a stipulation that effectively meant he could take as many performance-enhancing drugs as he wanted before the fight. Meanwhile Tyson can't. Usually professional fighters get suspended for that, so to openly advertise no drug testing wouldn't be a wise move. So much is already happening with months before the fight, I can't wait for this summer!

Jake Paul will square off with Mike Tyson live on Netflix on Saturday, July 20th. Be prepared for what will undoubtedly be one of the biggest live-streamed sporting events the streaming platform has ever seen and to see who will emerge victorious between the two boxers. 

Jake Paul has once again shocked the fighting world with the wild announcement he'll be boxing Mike Tyson on Netflix in a live event. The fight is set for July, and here we are in March with the two already trading jabs over the internet. After seeing them exchange some comments over social media, I can't help but wonder if Paul is making a huge mistake.

There are still quite a few months to go before we get to tune in live with our Netflix subscriptions and see Mike Tyson and Jake Paul throw down, but "The Problem Child" is already poking the bear and calling out Iron Mike on Instagram. The boxing legend gave a rather tame reply to Paul saying he's "put him to sleep," and Paul decided to double down and post another reply to Instagram Stories: 

I get having confidence and bravado, but I think the younger fighter may not understand the full scope of what he's up against here. Sure, Mike Tyson is 57 years old, but he's also one of the most dominant and legendary names in the fighting industry period. In fifty-eight professional matches he only lost six of them, and he won forty-four by knockout. Readers in 2024 may remember the silly guy with a face tattoo in his celebrity cameo in The Hangover, but sports fans remember that "Iron Mike" was a killer in the ring. 

One thing Paul might be banking on is that Tyson hasn't been in his prime for years, and he hasn't boxed in a match since 2020. At the same time, so much of professional fighting comes down to training and skill, and while he may not be at the top of his game, the knowledge is all still there. It's also worth noting that for a guy approaching sixty, he's in pretty damn good shape. 

Perhaps the most important X factor in Tyson is that while his competitor could be underestimating him in trolling, it doesn't seem like the former is doing the same. Tyson called his son a fool for trying to fight Paul, and his thoughts on why boxers hate the Paul brothers show he's been following them for a while. This is just speculation on my end, of course, but I would think someone with a champion mindset wouldn't take this fight if he didn't think he had a good shot at winning. 

Regardless of who comes out on top in July, I can't help but think the true winner here is the professional boxing industry. Logan and Jake Paul have both put the sport back on the map with these sideshow bouts, and made legends like Floyd Mayweather very wealthy in the process. 

It's also a big coup for Netflix, as live streaming a pay-per-view caliber event is sure to reshape how the streaming industry thinks about live sports on major platforms, though Amazon's big moves acquiring sports streaming rights alongside the other big platforms shows they're already on the ball. I think we're really in for a historic event this summer and something that might really push the streaming world even further into sports. 

The fight between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson is happening July 20th at AT&T Stadium, and of course, will be streamed over on Netflix. I'm sure we'll see a lot more antics ahead of the big fight, so I'm making sure my schedule is cleared that weekend and keeping an eye on both of their social media accounts.

And unsurprisingly, the news has sparked a wave of disbelief, excitement, and unabashed snark.

Netflix, which previously made combat sports-entertainment headlines by picking up exclusive rights to WWE’s Monday Night Raw, presumably pulled out its corporate wallet to land exclusivity for Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson, which is set to stream live on Saturday, July 20. But there’s certainly reason to be confident, with Paul still boasting the bulk of his YouTube fandom that has remained faithful throughout his transition into a boxing career. Not to mention the countless number of fanatics that’ll stay true to Tyson until worms have…unbitten ears.

If social media comment sections are anything to go by — heaven help us — then Netflix execs are likely already pumped about how much attention and fanfare they can expect for the live event being held at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. And you can bet the responses being shared are all over the place, taking every perspective imaginable, from celebrating the spread of streaming sports to mourning the “death” of legitimate boxing to planning on renewing their subs just ahead of the bout. Understandably, a lot of people on X are taking aim at the idea that Jake Paul is mostly known for jumping into bouts against fighters who are past their prime (and aren't always proficient in boxing in the first place), and the fact that Mike Tyson will be 58 years old when the fight takes place was lost on...[checks notes]...absolutely no one.

Similarly, tons of people are already calling the upcoming event out as a being rigged or nerfed so that it can be stretched out across as many rounds as possible. If any kind of "No knock outs" clause is addressed ahead of the fight, expect to see thousands of "I knew it" posts.

Not that everyone on social media was dunking on Jake Paul. The guy definitely has a base of fans that love to see him in the ring, and are ever-confident that he'll come out the victor every time. That bravado was on full display in many posts, although some people just seemed inclined to rag on Tyson as well, sometimes for his age, sometimes for his past transgressions in and out of the ring.

Given Mike Tyson's long presence within the world of pop culture, you can bet there were also more than a few comments sharing clips of Drederick Tatum, the Simpsons character he inspired, as well as a few from the classic video game Mike Tyson's Punch-Out. While I cannot imagine things will end in a KO where the "K" stands for "kissing," it would be fun to see Jake Paul and Mike Tyson' s match created in stop-motion for a Celebrity Deathmatch special or something along those lines.

In 2023, Mike Tyson talked potentially taking on Logan Paul in the ring, with the latter having also faced Floyd Mayweather in a highly polarizing contest. But it looks like those plans gave way to the WWE superstar's brother slotting in for the unexpected fisticuffs. Of course, two years before that, Jake Paul full-on compared himself to Mike Tyson and Muhammad Ali, which seemed rather outlandish at the time.

Athletes and movie stars have mingled for decades, and while movie stars rarely show up on the sports field, athletes show up in movies quite a bit. Some, like the late Jim Brown, even become professional actors. Here's a list of the most surprising times an athlete has popped up in a movie. 

Alex Karras - Blazing Saddles

Alex Karras had an impressive acting career after he retired from the NFL. Most notably, Karras starred as George Papadopoulos, foster father to Webster on Webster. He was also a professional wrestler as well. By far his funniest role, though, was that of the powerful Mongo in Blazing Saddles. The scene of Mongo riding into town on a bull and punching a horse is cinema history. 

Mike Tyson - The Hangover

There is no more surprising moment in any movie than when former heavyweight legend Mike Tyson shows up in The Hangover with his tiger. To make matters even better, he takes a healthy swing at Stu (Ed Helms) and knocks him cold, just as you'd expect. Who knew Mike Tyson was such a huge Phil Collins fan?

Lawrence Taylor was another NFL legend who was known for big hits, big plays, and big controversy off the field. In The Waterboy, Taylor recognizes those off-the-field struggles when he tells the whole kids team exactly what not to do with their lives. 

Brett Favre - There's Something About Mary

The thing about Mary (Cameron Diaz) in There's Something About Mary is that basically any guy who meets her falls in love with her. That includes former Packers quarterback and hall of famer Brett Favre. His name is mentioned a few times in the movie before he shows up towards the end, still in love with Mary. 

John McEnroe - Mr. Deeds

The best part about John McEnroe's cameo in Mr. Deeds is that he gets to be exactly what we all love about him. Famous for on-court meltdowns, the tennis hall of famer dodges getting hit by a car and yells at the driver as he yelled at umpires on the court. 

Dale Earnhardt Jr. - Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby

Racing legend Dale Earnhardt, Jr. may not have the best acting skills on this list, as is evident by his brief appearance in Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby but when he called Ricky Bobby (Will Ferrell) a "LIAR" it still brings a hearty laugh that makes the brief scene worth it.  

Shaquille O'Neal - Good Burger

Shaquille O'Neal is no stranger to the screen, both in movies and on TV, so he's hardly the most surprising on this list, still when he showed up in 1997's Good Burger, no one was expecting it. A true legend on and off the court. 

Dale Earnhardt, Sr - BASEketball

What better role for one of the all-time great race car drivers than of a crazy cab driver speeding through traffic? Dale Earnhardt, Sr's turn in BASEketball is hilarious and when he pops his helmet on after being told to speed up, you know what's going to come next. 

Mike Ditka - Kicking And Screaming

In the Will Ferrell movie Kicking and Screaming Mike Ditka actually has more of a role than a simple cameo, yet all the scenes still feel like each one is a classic athlete cameo. Often those cameos include a bit of wisdom or advice, be it good or bad. Ditka offers both in his scenes in the movie. 

Cam Neely - Dumb and Dumber

Boston Bruins great Cam Neely has one of the most famous cameos of all time by an athlete in Dumb and Dumber. Neely plays the truck driver "Seabass" at the diner who gets hit in the head with a salt shaker. Even the delivery of his lines is perfect, along with his costume. 

Roger Clemens - Kingpin

Roger Clemens isn't the first athlete you'd expect to make a cameo in a movie. Then you turn on Kingpin and boom, there he is. The former MLB pitcher plays a role that seems well-suited, an angry Southerner trying to pick a fight with Ishmael Boorg (Randy Quaid). After Roy Munson (Woody Harrelson) knocks out Ishmael to save him from a worse beating from Clemens and his buddies. 

Serena Williams - Ocean's 8

There are times when it seems Serena Williams is everywhere. The tennis legend, fashionista, and mom even managed to find time to shoot a quick scene for Ocean's 8. She plays herself, of course, on the red carpet at the Met Gala where the diamond heist is set to take place. Even though it's something in her wheelhouse – a TV interview in the movie – she nails it with grace and aplomb, as we would fully expect. 

Tom Brady - Ted 2

Mark Wahlberg and Tom Brady have one thing in common: both are legends in Massachusetts. It stands to reason that they would team up at some point, and it happened where else but in Ted 2. In what is maybe the most bizarre moment in the movie to sneak into Brady's house to steal something very private. When Brady chases them out, he throws Ted the teddy bear with a perfect spiral, naturally. 

Lance Armstrong - Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story

One thing that comes over and over with athletes make cameos in movies is sage advice. In the case of Lance Armstrong in Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, it's really more of a dressing down than straight advice. When Peter (Vince Vaughn) quits the team, Armstrong is there to tell him all he had to go through to win the Tour de France, inspiring – or guilting – Peter to return to the team. 

LeBron James - Trainwreck

Aaron Conners (Bill Hader) needs a lot of advice in Trainwreck. Thankfully, he's BFFs with the one and only LeBron James, who plays himself in the movie. Like many athletes in movies, James is there to give his buddy sage advice, which he does when it comes to dating and everything else. 

Derek Jeter - The Other Guys

All of Detective Terry Hoitz's (Mark Wahlberg) problems in life point back to one moment. The moment he shot Yankees legend Derek Jeter. The whole city hates him for it, so he struggles to move past it. Jeter's role is quick but pivotal, and he does a great job. 

Marty McSorley - Con Air

Okay, this is a deep cut. Con Air is one of the best action movies of all time, but Marty Sorley's cameo as the pilot of the prison plane isn't the reason. That's not to say he's not good in the role -- who can tell, it's so brief. For a guy who was once known as Wayne Gretzky's bodyguard, the former NHL enforcer plays the part well, if briefly. 

Jimmy Butler - Office Christmas Party

NBA star Jimmy Butler's scenes in Office Christmas Party work like a series of cameos. He's got more than one of them, but all are brief, and he says little. Playing himself, Butler is recruited to the party to bring a little life to it. It doesn't work, but soon the party gets cooking and he's still meeting new people and taking photos with them.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar - Fletch

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's appearance in Fletch isn't his most famous moment in cinema, but it is pretty hilarious. Playing himself on a Lakers' broadcast with the legendary Chick Hearn, Abdul-Jabber plays up the importance of the newest Laker, Fletch (Chevy Chase) in a dream of Fletch's as he falls asleep watching the game. 

Dennis Rodman - Eddie

1997's Eddie starring Whoopi Goldberg as the first female NBA coach is filled with cameos by basketball players and prominent New Yorkers, including Donald Trump in a random appearance. The funniest exchange Goldberg has is with NBA bad boy Dennis Rodman as they trade barbs on the court about their appearances. 

Patrick Ewing - The Exorcist III

This is by far the weirdest cameo on this list. The Exorcist III is one of the scariest movies in the series, and it has some truly bizarre scenes, but none more so than Kinderman's (George C. Scott) very strange hallucination/dream that he is walking through heaven. Fabio makes a cameo, and then comes Patrick Ewing as an angel. He doesn't have any lines, which makes it all the stranger. 

Xavier McDaniel - Singles

In Singles, Steve Dunne (Campbell Scott) has a preoccupation with Seattle Supersonics' star Xavier McDaniel. The X-Man, as he was known, comes up a couple of times in the movie, and even makes an appearance at a very inopportune time for Dunne. What is seemingly a standard post-game interview gets very weird for Scott, but it makes for a good laugh. 

Hines Ward - The Dark Knight Rises

This might be the easiest cameo for an athlete to make. NFL star Hines Ward and some other Steelers play, what else, football players in The Dark Knight Rises. They are on the field when Bane attacks the stadium in Gotham. Hines manages to outrun the collapsing field... for a time. It's one of the craziest scenes they shot in the movie. 

Kevin Garnett - Uncut Gems

Kevin Garnett's appearance in Uncut Gems may qualify as a little more than a simple cameo. He doesn't have a lot to do in the film, but he plays a pivotal role, as it's his championship ring that gets Howard (Adam Sandler) into so much trouble. The scene in the beginning when Garnett first sees Howard's black opal is entrancing. 

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar - Airplane!

This is like the Inception of athlete cameos. In Airplane! Kareem Abdul-Jabber plays himself, playing First Officer Roger Murdock. He's trying to hide his identity, but Joey (Ross Harris) just won't stop talking about the Lakers and his career as a basketball player. Finally, Abdul-Jabber grabs him and tells him to back off.  

Jim Brown - The Running Man

Jim Brown was one of the best football players of all time, but his movie career almost eclipsed that in his life story. The late Brown starred in a lot of movies after his playing days were over, but one of his smallest was also one of his best. As Fireball in The Running Man, Brown is one of the scariest hunters of the bunch, and the one they call on to end it, though Ben Richards (Arnold Schwarzenegger) has other plans. 

Larry Bird - Space Jam

There are quite a few cameos in Space Jam but the funniest might be Larry Bird and his back-and-forth with Bill Murray on the golf course. Larry Bird was known for trash talk on the court, so it must have been very natural for him on set. 

LeBron James - House Party

What better place to throw a party than LeBron James' mansion? That's what happens in House Party (2023). The party is, at first, a success, until James returns home early from his trip. Let's be honest, the movie was kind of a dud, but James is pretty good in it. 

Dan Marino - Little Nicky

Adam Sandler apparently loves working athletes into his movies, and Little Nicky is no exception. In one of the funnier scenes in the movie, ex-Dolphin QB Dan Marino tries to make a deal with the devil (Harvey Keitel) to win a Super Bowl. The devil doesn't want to make the deal, and Marino leaves angry. 

Athletes can make for some very surprising cameos, and while some are better than others, they are always fun to catch as a viewer. 

Over the years, WrestleMania has given us some of the electrifying matches of all time, iconic moments that we’re still talking about years (and decades) later, and more pageantry than anyone could ever imagine. But the one thing that separates the “Granddaddy of Them All” from your normal wrestling show is the event’s history with celebrity guests, who do everything from make brief appearances or participate in unforgettable matches.

Below is a list of the 35 celebrities who have appeared at WrestleMania, which dates back to WWE’s first pop culture event in 1985 and going all the way to its most recent running in April 2023. From WWE Hall of Famers to guests you may have forgotten, this is quite a list… 

Mr. T (WrestleMania)

We couldn’t kick off our list of WrestleMania celebrity guests with anyone but Mr. T., the star of The A-Team and Rocky III who sided with Hulk Hogan in the main event of the first “Showcase of the Immortals” back in 1985. His tag match with the Hulkster vs. “Rowdy” Roddy Piper and “Mr. Wonderful” Paul Orndorff wasn’t a wrestling clinic, but the spectacle of the headlining bout helped make WrestleMania the success story we know today.

Mike Tyson (WrestleMania XIV)

Mike Tyson may have had the quickest three-count in WWE history when he served as the guest enforcer in the WrestleMania XIV match that saw “Stone Cold” Steve Austin dethrone Shawn Michaels for the championship, but it’s still an outstanding moment 25 years later. The controversial boxing figure certainly made the 1998 event one to remember, even before he turned on his D-Generation X ally.

Cyndi Lauper (WrestleMania)

Cyndi Lauper, who was instrumental in the Rock 'n' Wrestling boom of the mid 1980s, also played a key role in the inaugural WrestleMania event. From her great backstage promo with the late “Mean” Gene Okerlund to standing in the corner of Wendi Richter when she defeated Leilani Kai to win the WWE Women’s Championship, the “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” singer was everywhere that night.

Snoop Dogg (WrestleMania 39)

Snoop Dogg has played a role in four different WrestleMania events over the years, but his most recent appearance at the 2023 “Super Bowl of Wrestling” has to be his best. There’s a case to be made for WrestleMania 39 being the best of all time, and the prolific West Coast rapper was key to that success. After Shane McMahon injured himself entering the ring, Snoop saved the segment when he pulled an audible and hit the Miz with a ridiculous “People’s Elbow.”

Muhammad Ali (WrestleMania)

Mike Tyson wasn’t the first boxer to make his presence felt at WrestleMania. That honor falls on the late, great Muhammad Ali, who served as the guest referee in the event’s first headlining bout. There’s even a moment where the boxing legend was standing in the ring with Hulk Hogan, Mr. T, and Liberace. Wrestling is wild sometimes.

Ozzy Osbourne (WrestleMania 2)

WrestleMania 2, which was the only edition in the event’s history to take place in three separate cities, saw a great number of celebrity guests throughout the night. One of the best definitely has to be Ozzy Osbourne, who served as the British Bulldogs’ manager when the team of Davey Boy Smith and the Dynamite Kid captured the gold in the Chicago’s Rosemont Horizon.

Pete Rose (WrestleMania XV)

One of the best running WrestleMania gags of the late 1990s and early 2000s was Pete Rose getting tombstoned by Kane. The controversial Cincinnati Reds legend, who was barred from MLB after a gambling scandal, showed up as the San Diego Chicken at WrestleMania XV in 1999 and was once again confronted by the “Big Red Machine,” who quickly put him in his place to the roar of the Philadelphia crowd.

Johnny Knoxville (WrestleMania 38)

The Jackass crew has a long history with WWE, and one of the genuinely best chapters in that story is Johnny Knoxville’s bout against Sami Zayn at WrestleMania 38. The “Anything Goes” match, which was one of the most memorable contests on the two-day card, had no business being so good. Combining old school wrestling storytelling with Jackass gags (like a giant hand and a mouse trap), the showdown became an instant classic.

Ray Charles (WrestleMania 2)

Some of the greatest singers of all time have lent their voices to WWE over the years, including Ray Charles. The beloved singer known for hits like “Georgia on My Mind,” “Hit the Road Jack,” and “I Got a Woman” performed “America the Beautiful” to kick off WrestleMania 2.

Bob Uecker (WrestleMania IV)

Milwaukee Brewers radio broadcaster (and Major League star) Bob Uecker has quite the history at WrestleMania, as he has popped up three times in the event’s history. It all started with WrestleMania III when “Mr. Baseball” helped out on commentary, but the next year's event saw one of the most classic moments in WWE history when Andre the Giant gave Uecker an interview he'll never forget.

Aretha Franklin (WrestleMania III)

In addition to all her hit songs, iconic movie moments, and other achievements, Aretha Franklin appeared at two WrestleMania events throughout her life, both of which were held in or near her hometown of Detroit, Michigan. The late singer performed “America the Beautiful” at WrestleMania III in the Pontiac Silverdome and then again 20 years later at Ford Field.

Bad Bunny (WrestleMania 37)

Rapper-turned-wrestler-turned-actor Bad Bunny made his in-ring wrestling debut at WrestleMania 37 where he teamed with Damian Priest to take on the Miz and John Morrison in a winning effort. He has since returned to the ring on multiple occasions and continues to improve as a performer.

Gladys Knight (WrestleMania IV) 

Seven-time Grammy winner Gladys Knight is another legendary singer who has been a part of the WrestleMania festivities over the years. Knight showed up at WrestleMania IV in 1988 to perform the customary “America the Beautiful” to nearly 20,000 fans in attendance at Trump Plaza in Atlantic City.

Run-D.M.C. (WrestleMania V)

A few years before WWE superstars performed the “WrestleMania” song, hip hop legends Run-D.M.C. hit the ring with a rap of their own at WrestleMania V in April 1989. The “WrestleMania Rap” was created for the event and was performed by the group in the middle of the ring in front of thousands of screaming fans. 

Pat McAfee (WrestleMania 38)

Former Indianapolis Colts punter and current sports talk legend Pat McAfee has had quite the history in WWE the past few years, including some pretty stellar in-ring moments. Perhaps the biggest came at WrestleMania 38 when he challenged Vince McMahon to a match after defeating Austin Theory. Though Mr. McMahon won the bout (due to some shenanigans), McAfee, with the help of Steve Austin, got the last laugh.

Shaquille O'Neal (WrestleMania 32)

Shaquille O’Neal and professional wrestling was a match made in heaven, and WWE fans got to see that become a reality when the Pro Basketball Hall of Famer entered the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 32. Was it a display of in-ring talent? No, but it was an unforgettable moment seeing him stand face-to-face with Big Show in the middle of the 20-man match.

Regis Philbin (WrestleMania VII)

WrestleMania VII is best remembered for being the beginning of the Undertaker’s historic streak as well as the main event championship match between WWE Champion Sgt. Slaughter and Hulk Hogan. The night also included an appearance by Regis Philbin, who stepped in and helped provide commentary in the high-profile headlining bout. 

Alex Trebek (WrestleMania VII)

Alex Trebek, the longtime host of Jeopardy, was another major celebrity guest for WrestleMania VII where he served as the ring announcer during the main event match. The beloved TV figure, who passed away in 2020, also conducted multiple backstage interviews throughout the event.

Rob Gronkowski (WrestleMania 36)

Four-time Super Bowl champion Rob Gronkowski has had two appearances at the “Granddaddy of Them All” over the years, including WrestleMania 36 where he served as the host of the event taped behind closed doors at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. The former tight end for the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers previously took part in WrestleMania 33 where he helped friend Mojo Rawley win the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.

Al Roker (WrestleMania 33)

WrestleMania 33 is best remembered for John Cena proposing to Nikki Bella in the middle of the ring after defeating the Miz and Maryse in a mixed-gender tag team match. But who was the ring with Cena and his former girlfriend? None other than Al Roker, the longtime weatherman and personality on NBC’s Today show.

Reba McEntire (WrestleMania VIII)

Reba McEntire made an appearance at WrestleMania VIII in April 1992. The celebrated country singer and actress took to the Hoosier Dome in Indianapolis, Indiana, to perform the “Star-Spangled Banner” in front of a massive 60,000-strong crowd of screaming wrestling fans.

Burt Reynolds (WrestleMania X)

WWE returned to Madison Square Garden for WrestleMania X in March 1994, an event that featured multiple celebrity guests like Donnie Wahlberg, Rhonda Shear, and Jennie Garth. The biggest actor to appear, and the man who served as ring announcer in the main event match involving Bret Hart and Yokozuna, was none other than Burt Reynolds.

Little Richard (WrestleMania X)

Another celebrity guest featured at WrestleMania X was legendary R&B trailblazer, Little Richard, who was on hand to perform “America the Beautiful” to kick off the historic event.

Pamela Anderson (WrestleMania XI)

Pamela Anderson, who was all the rage at the time thanks to her role on Baywatch, was one of the multiple celebrity guests on hand at WrestleMania XI in April 1995. The pop culture sensation served as Diesel’s, aka Kevin Nash, valet in his bout against Shawn Michaels.

Lawrence Taylor (WrestleManina XI)

WWE has a long history of bringing in big-named athletes for marquee events, and that includes Pro Football Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor, who took on Bam Bam Bigelow in the WrestleMania XI main event. The two-time Super Bowl champion was joined by a half-dozen other NFLers in a winning effort.

Floyd Mayweather (WrestleMania XXIV)

Boxer Floyd Mayweather is another big-name celebrity who has appeared at the “Showcase of the Immortals.” The decorated boxer, who took home a big paycheck for a 2021 fight with Logan Paul, entered the squared circle to take on Big Show in no DQ match at WrestleMania XXIV back in 2008.

Donald Trump (WrestleMania 23)

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has made many appearances over the years, including a “Battle of the Billionaires” match at WrestleMania 23. Trump’s night ended after taking a Stunner from Steve Austin.

Ice-T (WrestleMania 2000)

Rapper-turned-actor Ice-T showed up at WrestleMania 2000 where he performed “Pimpin’ Ain’t Easy” for the Godfather’s entrance.

Limp Bizkit (WrestleMania XIX)

Limp Bizkit, still one of the bigger nu-metal bands at the time, performed a pair of tracks at WrestleMania XIX in March 2003: that year’s official song, “Crack Addict,” and their own hit track, “Rollin,” for the Undertaker’s entrance.

Mickey Rourke (WrestleMania XXV)

After appearing in The Wrestler, one of the best movies of the 2000s, Mickey Rourke entered the ring for real when he confronted Chris Jericho at WrestleMania XXV. Though he didn’t participate in a match, he did give Y2J a knockout punch.

Paul Reubens As Pee-Wee Herman (WrestleMania XXVII)

The Rock may have been the biggest name in the house when he hosted WrestleMania XXVII in April 2011, but he wasn’t the only celebrity on hand that night. The late Paul Reubens, as his famous Pee-Wee Herman character, showed up throughout the night in one of his numerous WWE appearances over the years.

Sean 'Diddy' Combs (WrestleMania 29) 

Sean “Diddy” Combs appeared at WrestleMania 29 where he performed “Coming Home,” one of the event’s official theme songs.

Kid Rock (WrestleMania XXV) 

Kid Rock performed not one, not two, but a whole medley of tracks at WrestleMania XXV back in 2009, including smash hit songs “Bawitdaba” and “Cowboy.”

Colin Jost And Michael Che (WrestleMania 35)

After teasing it in the leadup to the event, Saturday Night Live stars Colin Jost and Michael Che showed up at WrestleMania 35 where they participated in the Andre the Giant Battle Royal. They weren’t successful or anything, but they did look extra ridiculous, especially when Braun Strowman got involved.

Machine Gun Kelly (WrestleMania XXVIII) 

About a decade before Machine Gun Kelly started his whirlwind romance with Megan Fox, the rapper showed up at WrestleMania XXVIII to perform “Invincible,” that year’s official theme song.
