Olivia Wilde has a hit on the 2026 movie schedule, with critics raving about the latest Seth Rogen movie, The Invite. It's a big win for Wilde, who talked about how the movie came about in part because she followed up one of her greatest movies with the somewhat infamous Don't Worry Darling.

Readers may remember Wilde's directorial debut with Booksmart, and how many praised it as the equivalent of Superbad for young women. The actress and director told Variety about how the success is welcome and a "blessing", but it can also come with some downsides as well:

It seemed things would only go up from there, but then came Don't Worry Darling, in which her behind-the-scenes marriage drama and on-set tensions piled onto a movie that critics largely panned. While the film received some praise for its performances, the overall story for it was deemed lacking and unworthy of the hype it generated.

Now removed from all the drama of that project, Olivia Wilde talked about how going from Booksmart to Don't Worry Darling helped pave the way for The Invite. It may sound odd to say, but she explained, when talking about the bad reviews the film received for various reasons:

That liberation led to The Invite, in which Olivia Wilde directs and stars alongside Seth Rogen in an A24 comedy with a a stressful trailer. The whole thing goes off the rails when their neighbors, played by Penélope Cruz and Edward Norton, propose they all engage in an extramarital affair. If that sounds familiar, the movie is a remake of the 2020 Spanish film The People Upstairs. A fun concept, but probably not one to invite any neighbors over to watch, unless you're into that sort of thing.

It's a great lesson for budding directors in Hollywood that success isn't always assured and can be difficult to sustain. I'm sure that Olivia Wilde would've loved to have Don't Worry Darling get as much love as Booksmart and The Invite, but I think the main takeaway was that having the follow-up fumble at the box office wasn't the death knell of Wilde's directing career. She's back on top again with another hit, and while she may make another flop in the future, it looks like she has the right mindset now, knowing that it ultimately means nothing as to what comes next.

The Invite is in theaters right now, but readers may have to search out what theaters and showtimes work for them. There are so many other movies making waves this summer, now might be the time to grab one of those unlimited subscriptions to see all of them before they come to streaming!

Seth Rogen has been bringing the comedy in a big way for over two decades, but over the past year he’s really stood out in a new way, setting Emmy records with The Studio, not to mention The Muppet Show TV special he delighted us with this year. Next up he’ll appear in The Invite, which Olivia Wilde both directs and stars in, and as reviews hit ahead of its release on the 2026 movie calendar, I’m surprised to see it sporting a 94% Rotten Tomatoes score (as of this writing).

Is it shocking to me that Olivia Wilde, Seth Rogen, Edward Norton and Penélope Cruz are capable of such a rating? Not at all, but scores this high are hard to come by these days for any filmmaking ensemble. Even the critically lauded Toy Story 5 is ranked lower than The Invite at 92%. The year’s biggest shocker Obsession, which is doing unprecedented things at the box office, has 94%. So if that’s the bar that’s been set, what exactly do The Invite reviews say?

Alex Godfrey of Empire rates the movie 4 stars out of 5, warning that it’s not a date movie. As tense and funny as it is, The Invite is also “a sad, incisive, brilliantly drawn study of a failing marriage.” The critic says:

Kate Erbland of IndieWire gives it a B+, saying that Olivia Wilde is fully in control here, balancing the big laughs from the awkward dinner party teased in the trailer with the heartbreaking moments, all while surprising the audience at every turn. Erbland cannot overstate how much fun it is to watch The Invite in a crowded theater, so please, she says: Accept this invite. The critic continues:

Joey Magidson of Awards Radar says that “Olivia Wilde directs the hell out of” the upcoming A24 movie, giving a talky comedy a real visual style. It’s smart and profound but also “a laugh riot.” The quartet of actors are doing top-tier work, Magidson says, rating The Invite 3.5 out of 4 stars and writing:

Siddhant Adlakha of IGN gives it a “Great” 8 out of 10, praising Olivia Wilde’s achievement and joining other critics in saying it’s one of the best of the year. Adlakha’s review of The Invite reads:

Several of the reviews I’ve read had small quibbles, particularly with The Invite’s third act, but because the critics find the overall product so impressive, they’re willing to overlook some things. Jacob Oller of AV Club is a tad less forgiving, giving the movie a B-, writing:

Despite the critiques from the AV Club critic, however, he says Olivia Wilde’s directorial control of her ensemble keeps the awkward dinner party moving through its clunkier courses.

After reading Olivia Wilde’s comments on how sex is portrayed in movies — and her promise that The Invite would be “irreverent” and “playful” — I was expecting the “fun” but possibly not the depth that critics say her direction brings to the movie.

I’m definitely interested in checking out this highly rated film, and we don’t have long to wait, as The Invite hits theaters on Friday, June 26.

It’s been more than a half decade since Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis ended their relationship, and for better or for worse, the general public’s collective fascination has never gone away. The interest has, of course, ebbed and flowed a bit, but it’s never gone fully dormant, as we’re seeing right now following an interview, a burst of media attention and anonymous source quotes making the rounds.

This recent chatter started with a podcast appearance from Wilde. She’s promoting her new film, The Invite, and during a conversation on the Call Her Daddy podcast, she talked about when she knew the relationship was over. More specifically, she said Sudeikis didn’t get her a birthday gift because they didn’t even know each other anymore.

Her actual quote is a little more complicated (and we discuss it in depth here). I suspect the goal of her story was to talk about reaching the point in a relationship where you’re disconnected, but a lot of fans focused more on the Sudeikis not buying her a gift part and/ or inferred it was a sign he had checked out of their marriage.

Wilde’s quotes were almost immediately everywhere, as were thousands upon thousands of hot takes. Not surprisingly, fans have wanted to hear Sudeikis’ side, but he hasn’t spoken on the record since the interview. Popular ex-publicist turned gossip columnist Rob Shuter from the Naughty But Nice podcast, however, says he’s spoken to sources connected to Sudeikis. They’re allegedly claiming he’s not happy and doesn’t get how any conversation about how their relationship ended doesn’t involve Harry Styles.

That quote and a few others about how Sudeikis allegedly doesn’t want to keep having this conversation in public for the sake of their kids have been picked up by Yahoo, InTouch and more. Since Sudeikis hasn’t gone on the record, we can’t be sure how he really feels, but clearly, a lot of fans are giving some weight to these anonymous quotes.

Regardless, I’m not sure we’ll ever know Styles and Wilde’s true, unfiltered opinions on their relationship or the actualities of what happened. Their relationship ended in 2020. She's always been clear that things ended with Sudeikis before they started with Styles, but that hasn't stopped people from speculating about the timeline and a whole host of other things.

All that chatter became arguably the most discussed story in the entertainment world in 2022 during the Don’t Worry Darling press tour. In the lead-up to the movie, you couldn’t get on the internet without seeing a dozen stories about their personal lives.

From Wilde’s romance with the aforementioned Harry Styles, who also starred in the movie, to alleged drama between Wilde and actress Florence Pugh to the “spitgate” scandal between Styles and Chris Pine, the stories became increasingly more outrageous. Even the couple’s nanny was interviewed.

Since the Booksmart director and the One Direction alum broke up in 2022, Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis have allegedly been able to repair their relationship enough for cordial co-parenting — they were even seen hugging it out in 2023 — so hopefully this latest resurfacing of their past drama doesn’t cause too much of a backslide.

Over the years, there’s been a lot of “inaccurate” rumors about what happened between the celebrity couple behind the scenes. However, now Wilde is getting candid about why they decided to end things six years ago.

Wilde recently got back in the director’s chair for The Invite, which is on the 2026 movie schedule and will be released later this month. While talking about the dramedy, she said it’s “no surprise” to her that she decided to do something about the complexities of long-term relationships after what she went through in her personal life with Sudeikis. There was the feud with Pugh, “Spit-Gate” and pay disparity issues, for example.

Now that Wilde has had time to process it, she calls what happened in the media "fucking bananas" and “complete fiction traded as fact”. It sounds like her work on The Invite, which she directed and stars in, allowed her to explore some aspects of her relationship with Sudeikis. As she also shared:

Is Bodice Core In For Spring?

We can thank Emerald Fennell, Margot Robbie and costume designer Jacqueline Durran for this spring’s styles. Robbie wore 45-50 of these similar looks in Wuthering Heights, and the movie’s take has really translated for spring. I love the mix of fabrics, which is similar to the textured looks Robbie wore for WH press. I love the little details like the ties near her elbows and the beading on the corset bodice. If this is the style to look for this spring, I’m here for it.

The idea you can pair flat booties or loafers with a long and lush dress would not have occurred to me to be a modern look; it’s typically the type of thing you’d see from characters mucking about in nature in the 1800s. It works though, and the general feel of Wilde’s Eden dress and accessories feels like something I haven’t really seen before, plus Wilde admitted in her Instagram post that wearing flats was a delightful change of pace.

Look, that print is bold, and I’d be willing to bet it’s not for everyone, but I like that Wilde occasionally takes some fun risks with her fashion. We've also seen her pay homage to other trends that have come out of movies and TV shows, such as the sheer Oscars look she wore that seemed to nod at Daisy Jones and the Six.

In this case, I feel like corset dresses have been all over carpets in recent years. We’ve been talking about them ever since Taylor Swift rocked one at the Grammys in 2024. However, going this romantic route feels brand new and also feels like a way to have fun with fashion this spring.

If it’s also a nod to one of the best movies to come out in 2026, I’m here for it. It’s not often we see movies spin off into fashion palettes, but as more movies geared to women become big box office adventures, we’re seeing it happen more often, and honestly Margot Robbie is really at the forefront of that with some help from her newer stylist Andrew Mukamal. Barbiecore, anyone?

Now that Zendaya and Robert Pattinson’s The Drama has arrived to the 2026 release schedule, there are four more upcoming A24 movies to look forward to this year. The last of the bunch, titled The Invite (an English adaptation of Cesc Gray’s Spanish film The People Upstairs), doubles as Olivia Wilde’s directorial follow-up to 2022’s Don’t Worry Darling. She additionally stars alongside Seth Rogen, and the first trailer for The Invite has me stressing out about the dinner party their characters are holding.

Although The Invite is labeled as a comedy, many A24 movies contain some degree of tension, and this one isn’t bucking that trend. The Invite, written by Rashida Jones and Will McCormack, sees Rogen and Wilde (who shared screen time just last year in an episode of Apple TV’s The Studio) playing couple Joe and Angela, who are having a rough patch when the movie begins, and hosting a dinner party for their upstairs neighbors Pína and Hawk, respectively played by Penélope Cruz and Edward Norton. Just seeing Angela call out Joe for not complimenting her enough is awkward.

The weirdness just keeps ratcheting up as the trailer continues, most notably when it’s strongly implied that Pína and Hawk are swingers and would like to include Joe and Angela in their sexual escapades. The song choice of “Ring My Bell” certainly hammers that home. Now that by itself wouldn’t necessarily be odd, depending on who you ask, but then preview for The Invite wraps up with bizarre imagery and moments. From Angela sticking her fingers into a stick of butter to Joe screaming out in pain over what looks like… you know what, I won’t get into that here.

I’m thinking The Invite will be similar to last year’s uncomfortable A24 release Friendship, which was hilarious, but so cringe to get through (I still haven’t forgotten about the soap punishment scene). One difference here is that it seems like the events will be contained to just the one apartment, or perhaps there will be a point in the movie Joe and/or Angela sneak into Pína and Hawk’s apartment. Either way, I am intrigued to learn just what the full deal is with Penélope Cruz and Edward Norton’s characters in The Invite, and what ramifications their… unique interests will have on Joe and Angela’s marriage.

The Invite opens in theaters on June 26, the same day as Supergirl and Jackass 5, and just one week after A24’s The Death of Robin Hood sees Hugh Jackman playing an aged version of the legendary archer. I’m sure the Olivia Wilde-helmed movie will generate a lot of chatter, including at dinner parties, but I just know I’m going to be squirming uncomfortably once I sit down to watch it.

Sex and nudity in TV and film have always been a topic of debate and discussion, but possibly no more than recently. While there’s certainly no lack of sex on screen, and there are plenty of sexy movies on Netflix and every other streaming service, it’s not being presented in quite the same way. Olivia Wilde, star and director of the new film I Want Your Sex, thinks that she understands what the issue is.

It’s long been reported, and there are studies to back it up, that Gen Z isn’t as interested in seeing sex on screen as previous generations. The issue, according to some, is that sex on screen hasn’t been presented authentically, and Wilde told Variety that she fully supports a more “genuine” view on sex and relationships, saying…

I Want Your Sex follows the story of a young man (Cooper Hoffman) who becomes the assistant and eventually the lover of Erica Tracy (Wilde), a provocative artist. The movie is a comedy, so some elements of the story certainly aren’t meant to be entirely “authentic.” However, Wilde thinks her movie will still resonate with an audience because the metaphor is still something everybody can truly relate to. It seems unlikely that we’ll ever reach a point where sex is entirely gone from films. It will continue to evolve, just as film itself has over the last century. I Want Your Sex recently premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, but a wide release hasn't been set yet.

There has been a flurry of details breaking from the set of the 2025 movie Tron: Ares, which, to fans like me, is an invitation to start speculating. In an adventure that crosses borders between hard drives and meatspace, knowing your code is exceedingly important.

With that in mind, I feel compelled to bring to everyone’s attention a new tidbit of info that I’ve learned about the upcoming threequel – the significance being that I think this already important sounding development could become an even greater concern in the overall Tron movie timeline.

It Appears Tron: Ares’ Big Macguffin Has Been Revealed

The latest issue of Empire Magazine sees the publication on the set of the upcoming legacyquel, and there are plenty of clues towards how life on The Grid has changed. As we saw in the first Tron: Ares trailer, life is also starting to reach out into the flesh and blood world beyond the screen. So keep that in mind when reading this story beat from the feature:

Looks like some of the whispers that have been bandied about on Reddit are true, as a past Instagram post from Ares director Joachim Rønning saw the word "permanence" standing out on a script page. So the “Permanence Code” sounds like it would keep Light Cycles, Recognizers, and anything one would want to bring into the real world in play.

That fits Joachim Rønning's Pinocchio allegory when discussing Tron: Ares' sinister looking protagonist. It also sounds pretty damned cool... right until you go to revisit the questions from Tron: Legacy’s ending. Those of you planning to do a franchise refresh through your Disney+ subscription may now have another query about the upcoming sequel.

Quorra Is Either Dead, Or In Hiding, For Her Survival

Going back to the subject of speculation, the fandom has wondered how (or if) Tron: Ares will address what Sam Flynn (Garrett Hedlund) and Quorra (Olivia Wilde) have been up to in the past 15 years. Reading how this “permanence code” is needed to keep digital denizens alive in reality, I’m now worried that Sam’s ISO friend/love interest may not be doing so well.

That possibility could play out one of two ways, with the obvious first scenario being outright death. I'm not totally sure about that, as there really hasn't been a confirmation or denial from anyone connected to the production that Sam and Quorra are out of the picture totally.

In the best case scenario, Quorra’s status as an ISO may have helped her survive after her trip to the real world at the end of Tron: Legacy. That’s still pretty dangerous, as if she’s alive in the world somewhere, you could bet Dillinger Systems is going to want to study and extrapolate this code from her being. So we’re back to poor Quorra potentially being subjected to a fate worse than de-resolution.

It won’t be long until we learn more about the world of Tron: Ares, as San Diego Comic Con will be hosting a huge Hall H panel for the film on July 26. I don't think we'll get any concrete discussion on Quorra's fate, but it'd be nice to get an update on the current states of Encom and Dillinger Systems. Until then, keep your eyes and ears for anything else that might slip the nets, Programs. End of Line.

Audiences have been patiently waiting for Olivia Wilde’s next directing project, following the release of her 2022 film Don’t Worry Darling and the BTS drama that ensued. Now, that wait is getting closer to being over as Wilde just celebrated after wrapping her third directorial credit, The Invite, meaning I'm starting to hope that the film winds up on the 2025 movie schedule or the 2026 lineup.

Similar to Don’t Worry Darling, Wilde acts in and directs The Invite, starring alongside an A-List cast that includes Seth Rogen, Penélope Cruz, and Edward Norton. Like her directorial debut Booksmart, this Don’t Worry Darling follow-up is a comedy, following two neighboring couples on a double date who unearth “repressed emotions and unexplored sexuality,” according to the synopsis.

With a black and white film photo of the director reviewing footage on set, posted to Wilde’s Instagram, the House actress announced they had wrapped production with the following caption:

It sounds like filming went a lot smoother on this project than her sophomore directorial debut, starring Harry Styles and Florence Pugh. Rumors about an on-set romance between the British singer and Wilde had attached themselves to the production and ended up being true.

Also, the Thunderbolts* actress was reportedly not happy with Wilde’s lack of presence on set, leading to an alleged feud between the two actresses. Styles and the Tron: Legacy actress dated for nearly two years following the production, before a tough breakup in 2022. However, the “As It Was” artist only sang praises about his ex-girlfriend’s directing talent.

Even with all the drama, Don’t Worry Darling had a successful theatrical release.

The Invite was seemingly filmed quickly without any major problematic cast relationships, if Wilde’s caption is any indication. This doesn’t really come as a shock, considering Seth Rogen and Wilde have a close professional relationship.

The Drinking Buddies actress recently appeared in an episode of Rogen’s wildly popular new comedy The Studio, which is available to stream with an Apple TV+ subscription. Wilde was one of a number of real-life directors Rogen recruited to play themselves in this hilarious “self-loathing love letter” to Hollywood.

The two co-stars were recently spotted on San Francisco public transportation during rush hour, according to the San Francisco Chronicle, filming final scenes of the upcoming comedy. I personally love it when productions use real environments instead of a studio lot, and I look forward to seeing the final result.

According to Variety, The Invite is supported by FilmNation, the production company also attached to 2025 Best Picture Oscar Winner Anora, and Best Picture nominee Conclave. Needless to say, this already has some solid standing between the cast and crew behind the project.

As someone who enjoyed both Booksmart and Don’t Worry Darling, I have high expectations for Wilde’s third directorial pursuit, and I can't wait to see it.

The filmmaker and actress have also made her opinions abundantly clear about her feelings about female directors in Hollywood–she’s not one to play it safe. And, by the sounds of this movie, she’s staying on brand with the promise of ‘unexplored sexuality.’

The following official, but general synopsis of the coming adaptation of the Cesc Gay directed title describes a normal neighborly event taking an unexpected, explicit turn:

While the teaser is overall vague, production has begun in Los Angeles with FilmNation Entertainment producing. (The studio most recently backed Sean Baker’s Anora and the papal thriller Conclave.) But what has me most jazzed about Wilde’s next endeavor is who she landed to round out the cast.

What a knockout cast! All are dynamic enough performers to easily blur a couple of lines, so I’m pleased to say the least! I’m going to assume, from the brief overview and these leads, it seems like Wilde and Rogen may be one couple, with Cruz and Norton playing the other, but that could be backwards.

Even though it’s wildly reflective of the star power she had for her sophomore project, just the thought of this foursome emits some good vibes. (Though not necessarily the kind provoked by Rogen’s more notorious habit.)

At the time of this posting, there’s no public projected premiere date, but each of these celebs has plenty going on as they begin filming. As mentioned, Wilde showed up as one of The Studio's impressive cameos–Seth Rogen’s streaming satire (available with an Apple TV subscription). Meanwhile, Norton’s been taking it easy since his work in his Oscar-nominated role for A Complete Unknown. And after Cruz’s appearance in Ferrari, she shifted gears into The Bride! I’m excited to see this unlikely foursome team up to take on this quirky comedy.

Hopefully we'll hear even more casting updates for this Wilde movie soon. I'd say don't worry, darling, but it's probably too early for pet names.

Since Seth Rogen’s Matt Remick is the newly-minted head of Continental Studios on The Studio, that obviously means he meets with creative talent in Hollywood on a regular basis, including the blunt Charlize Theron and various directors. In the latter category, Ron Howard, Sarah Polley and Olivia Wilde are among the ones who’ve appeared on this 2025 TV schedule offering, and Alex Gregory, who co-created the Apple TV+ subscription-exclusive series, shared with CinemaBlend the story behind how Rogen recruited these three. Let’s start with that one first. Howard stopped by during “The Note,” which saw Matt Remick struggling to give the director a note about his movie Alphabet City because of a traumatic experience more than two decades earlier when Howard mocked Matt over a suggestion he made for A Beautiful Mind. While it looked at first like The Studio’s Howard was a nice enough guy, his mean side eventually came out, and Gregory informed me that the filmmaker actually welcomed the opportunity to play himself in this way. In his words:

The Studio’s Ron Howard showed his true colors when he was informed in a meeting by Kathryn Hahn’s Maya Mason that Matt Remick had feedback for Alphabet City. Howard proceeded to embarrass Matt to everyone in the room by telling them how Matt had suggested back in the day that viewers of A Beautiful Mind know from the start that Paul Bettany’s Charles Herman was a figment of Russell Crowe’s John Nash’s imagination from the start. An angry Matt proceeded to tell Howard about how boring the motel sequence in Alphabet City was, and an an altercation ensued.

Ron Howard ultimately agreed to cut the motel sequence, but informed Matt that he’d destroy the film executive if he ever crossed him again. So the Howard in The Studio’s world is definitely not a nice guy, but the real deal relished the opportunity to play an “asshole.” Like Alex Gregory mentioned, he may not be that way in real life, but that doesn’t mean he feels like a nice guy all the time.

The week prior to Ron Howard’s appearance, Sarah Polley of Ramona fame appeared in the critically-acclaimed The Studio as herself in “The Oner,” a.k.a. the episode that was entirely one take. She and Seth Rogen had worked together 2011’s Take This Waltz, which Polley directed, and the Apple TV+ show actually marked her first time acting in a decade and a half. But Alex Gregory recalled that Rogen knew she was the right person for this episode:

You could feel Polley’s frustration as Matt Remick kept ruining the oner she was trying right at sunset, as that’s the only time of the day the shot would work. But it was just one thing after another, and by the end of the episode, they weren’t able to get the shot. What was a series of unfortunate events for this Continental Studios production made for hilarious hijinks for the viewer, and both Rogen and Gregory were pleased with how Polley played this fictional version of herself.

And then there’s Olivia Wilde, who appeared in the noir-inspired “The Missing Reel.” As the title indicates, the episode revolved around a reel from Wilde’s movie being stolen… only for it to be revealed that Wilde herself was the culprit. It provided the opportunity for Wilde, known from House, Tron: Legacy and Drinking Buddies, among other projects, to play an unhinged version of herself, which she was all too welcome to do. As Alex Gregory told me:

The Studio’s Olivia Wilde stole that reel because she was unhappy with the scene on it and intended to force reshoots. By the end of the episode, she destroyed the reel, and Matt Remick was forced to pay for the reshoots by selling his $2 million car to Zac Efron, one of the movie’s stars. However she may be as a director in real life on set, at least those who are working with her can take comfort knowing she won’t fly off the handle like she did on this series… probably.

Should it return for Season 2, I look forward to seeing what other directors will poke fun at themselves, like perhaps Greta Gerwig considering how Barbie influenced the series, and I’d also welcome seeing Ron Howard exacting revenge on Seth Rogen’s character.

Martin Scorsese, Ron Howard, Sarah Polley and Olivia Wilde. We’re four episodes into The Studio’s run on the 2025 TV schedule, and that’s only a few of the wildly impressive A-list directors Seth Rogen and co. have rounded up to guest star in this show. However, there’s one more director who I think would be a great fit for this series, and I desperately, and I mean desperately, need her to be on this fabulous Apple TV+ series.

Now, the director I’m talking about is Greta Gerwig, and I doubt anyone is really shocked by this choice. The first episode of The Studio is all about Rogen’s Matt Remick trying to secure a director for the Kool-Aid movie, and Barbie and its success are mentioned while talking about how it was an artistic anomaly in the world of IP-driven films. Plus, the Superbad writer has been open about how Gerwig’s movie influenced The Studio.

That alone makes her a great and fitting addition to this show. I mean, to have her come in and enter this ongoing conversation about the state of film would be perfect, based on that one episode alone.

However, I also want you to consider the other directors who have guest-starred on The Studio, because it gives us another reason why Gerwig would be a perfect fit.

Of the four directors I mentioned at the top of this story, three of them are or were also actors. Ron Howard got his big break playing Opie Taylor on the Andy Griffith Show and Richie Cunningham on Happy Days. Then, he went on to direct Apollo 13 and A Beautiful Mind (among many others). Olivia Wilde was on screen in projects like House and Tron: Legacy before she helmed Booksmart. And Sarah Polley acted in films like Dawn of the Dead and Go way before she directed Women Talking.

Gerwig is also an actor-turned-director. You can see her on screen in Frances Ha and Mistress America. However, she’s best known for directing Ladybird, Little Women and Barbie. She’d fit in perfectly with the talent that has been lined up for The Studio, and I just know she’d give an A+ performance.

All this is to say, so far, the director guest stars have been my favorites on The Studio because they are playing themselves, which helps show how relevant this series is, while also getting to show off their skills as performers. Ron Howard playing an absolute diva was hilarious. Sarah Polley getting more and more frustrated over that one-take was incredible. Then, seeing Olivia Wilde freak out about a missing roll of film was really, really funny. So, let’s get Greta Gerwig in the mix.

Her films have played a major role in making the film industry what it is right now, and she’s got the acting history to exceed on camera. Putting her in The Studio would give her a chance to show off both things while also providing a poignant and impactful commentary about the state of movies.

Quite literally, I think she’s the perfect person to get on this series all about making movies in this day and age, so Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, can we get on this?

In the meantime, Season 1 of The Studio is in full swing, and it will feature even more iconic directors and writers like Zack Snyder and Aaron Sorkin, as well as TV bosses like Hacks’ Paul W. Downs and Abbott Elementary’s Quinta Brunson (among others). So, make sure you tune in every Wednesday with your Apple TV+ subscription, while I hope and pray that this dream of mine comes true.

Throughout the years, plenty of celebrity relationships have managed to capture the public’s attention. Olivia Wilde and Harry Styles made headlines in a big way back in 2021 when it was reported that they were dating. What followed was a cavalcade of media coverage that also encompassed the film the two collaborated on, Don’t Worry Darling. They ultimately broke up in late 2022, and Wilde is currently dating Dane DiLiegro. Now, an insider is dropping claims on how Styles feels about his old flame’s new romance.

It’s somewhat hard to believe it’s been a few years since Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde split up. The two never provided specific details about the circumstances surrounding their split. Now, an insider tells OK Magazine that the now-31-year-old ex-One Direction member was actually “gutted” when his romance with the Rush star came to a close. Nevertheless, Styles supposedly holds no hard feelings towards Wilde as she embarks on her latest relationship:

Before linking up with the “As It Was” singer, Olivia Wilde was in a long-term relationship with fellow actor Jason Sudeikis. The pair were together from 2011 to 2020, and they share two children, Otis (10) and Daisy (8). When Sudeikis and Wilde split, there were reports of drama between the two, which seemingly came to a head when the Ted Lasso star apparently served his ex while she was presenting at CinemaCon in 2022. Ahead of that, rumors ran around in regard to the timing of Wilde’s breakup with Sudeikis and the start of her relationship with the aforementioned pop star.

Considering that Harry Styles was purportedly in his feelings over his split from the Tron: Legacy star, some may be tempted to assume he was the dumpee. The same source suggested to OK, however, that the Grammy winner was the person who initiated the breakup, and they dropped claims about why Styles supposedly felt bad about doing that:

While both Olivia Wilde and Harry Styles rarely spoke about their romance publicly, there were instances in which they shared candid thoughts on the public’s reaction to it. Wilde acknowledged that a “false narrative” regarding her relationship was spreading around, though she said she wouldn’t engage with that chatter. For his part, Styles got real about the “toxic negativity” that surrounded him and his partner, admitting that it was hard on him.

This latest report regarding Harry Styles should be taken with a grain of salt, though his alleged thoughts on Olivia Wilde would track. On the rare occasion he’s discussed her, he’s only shared positive thoughts, and he praised Wilde as a director as well. We can only speculate as to where these former lovers truly stand but, ultimately, one would just hope they can continue to move on in ways that best suit them.

Olivia Wilde has been no stranger to sheer red carpet fashion in recent years. After Florence Pugh opened the gates on her “free the nipple” quest, Wilde has followed suit, going see-through for an Academy Museum Gala and more. And while she wasn’t on the list of 2025 Oscar nominees, she did make the invite list for the Vanity Fair Oscars After Party, and to me, her dress was sheer perfection, even reminding me of one of my favorite recent series' Daisy Jones and the Six. Hear me out.

There were some more notable dressers out and about this weekend. Zoë Kravitz had on a cheeky dress in a style I’d never seen before. Megan Thee Stallion wore feather. Halle Bailey wore a red see-through corset dress. Bowen Yang had awesome embroidery on his own Oscars look (before coming onstage in his Wicked outfit). And Kim Kardashian turned heads in a little black dress one day before showing up in a pillow-y, structured look for the Vanity Fair party.

Meanwhile, Wilde went for neither structured nor avant-garde, instead choosing a pretty cream dress with matching undergarments that was delicate and delightful on the red carpet.

The noughties and '90s fashion have really been the style cue that's been more on trend in recent months, but as a vintage lover myself, I was totally into Olivia Wilde's maxi dress, its ruffles and its dotted details. In fact, a similar look stood out to me a couple of years ago when I watched Daisy Jones and the Six. In that series, there's an episode in which Suki Waterhouse's character, Karen, finds out she's pregnant and speaks to fellow Daisy Jones cast member Camila in a sheer look.

In her case, her blouse, while black, was giving similar flowy and polka dotted vibes to what Wilde is putting out in the universe here.

Riley Keough's character also frequently favored the billowy, vintage vibe Wilde is working with here, and I'm so into it. It was such a far cry from most of the other dresses we saw on the red carpet (or at the pre and post parties) this year, and it's the one I'll be thinking about as I go about my work week. Of course, there are plenty of Oscars 2025 moments we'll all still be talking about in the coming days. Which was your favorite?

Actress Olivia Wilde has been dipping her toes into directing over the last few years. She was the director for the 2019 film Booksmart, as well as 2022’s Don’t Worry Darling, which received a five-minute standing ovation, despite mixed reviews. Wilde has two more films on the way that she helmed, and there's a reason why there's no shortage of directorial offerings from her.

In an interview with Deadline, Wilde opened up about her place in the entertainment industry as an actor and director. As an actress, Olivia Wilde naturally gravitated toward roles that had some risk attached, and she stated that was why people brought her on to projects, as either an actor or the director. Wilde went on to say this when she looked back on the projects she undertook:

Wilde continued to speak about her time as a director and what her goal is when it comes to making movies on both sides of the camera. The In Time star, when giving her opinion on the responses from critics and moviegoers, was quoted saying:

It isn’t a secret that films with more thought-provoking topics, or risky storylines that split the room, are shied away from. The industry can be described as trying to appeal to the widest audience, which Wilde herself touched on as the reason for why she started moving towards directing. In the interview, she stated her belief that acting is the only career where experience doesn’t matter. She went so far as to say that the more experience you have, the less valuable you are because public perception is more important. She goes on to say:

Wilde states that when you are behind the camera, your experience is everything, and the more projects you create and are a part of, the longer of a lifespan you have in the industry. Which is true, you can really express the full range of your capabilities when you're involved in more projects, and that is better shown when you are the one in control of the camera, and not just in front of it. When moving on to the subject of women and their place in the film industry, Wilde had this to say:

She went on to advocate that when given the chance to make a film, as a woman, it’s exciting because you are the one in control. Wilde stated that this is the chance to change the system rather than adhere to it, and she advocated that this is the time to be the change and not hide from showing something that might not be universally liked. Wilde closed that thought by saying:

Currently, Olivia Wilde is the director behind Naughty, a Christmas comedy that Barbie star Margot Robbie is helping fund. Wilde is also set to direct Avengelyne, which is based off of a 1990s comic book character. As mentioned, her film Don’t Worry Darling had mixed reactions and seemed to have drama on and off the screen between cast members, including rumors that Florence Pugh and Wilde had a hard time getting along.

There are a lot of reasons that a young actor may change their name. Sometimes it's as simple as just wanting a cool new name. Often it's because someone is already in the union was using the actor's real name and they have to adjust. Here's a list of some of Hollywood's biggest stars and their real names. 

Ben Kingsley (Krishna Pandit Bhanji)

The great Ben Kingsley won an Oscar for his role in the great biopic Gandhi. It makes sense he would play the Indian freedom fighter, as Kingsley himself is Indian. Born to an Indian father and an English mother, Kingsley grew up in England and while his father was a practicing Shia Muslim, Kinglsey is not and considers himself a Quaker. He changed his name for that oh-so-common reason, that he feared a foreign-sounding name would hurt his career. 

Whoopi Goldberg (Caryn Elaine Johnson)

The story is both hilarious and heartfelt. She was born Caryn Elaine Johnson in New York, but when she started acting, she was accused of being flatulent, so Whoopi "short for whoopee cushion." Her surname came from a Jewish ancestor, Goldberg, so she could celebrate the diversity in her family line. 

Judy Garland (Frances Ethel Gumm)

Judy Garland first started in show business as a singer with her sisters, going by their names, The Gumm Sisters. After they were billed as the "Glum Sisters" for a show, it was suggested they change their name. Judy Gumm took her mother's maiden name, Garland, and the rest is history. 

Martin Sheen (Ramon Gerard Estevez)

Martin Sheen's real name is Ramon Gerard Estevez, but he changed it when he broke into the business for the same reason so many others have made the decision, to be less ethnic, as early in his career they said he looked Irish. One of his sons, Charlie Sheen, chose to use the same screen name, but one of his other sons, Emilio Estevez, chose to use his given name. Sheen's daughter, Renée Estevez, an occasional cast member of The West Wing with her father, also stuck with the family name. 

Vin Diesel (Mark Sinclair)

Vin Diesel took on that name after being born Mark Sinclair when he worked as a bouncer as he tried to break into show business. "Vin" comes from his adoptive surname, Vincent, and Diesel came simply because he wanted a cool name as a bouncer. 

Miley Cyrus (Destiny Hope Cyrus)

Though she was born Destiny Hope Cyrus, Miley Cyrus decided to go by the moniker she's best known as because that was simply what her family called her growing up. Her nickname in the family was originally "Smiley" which was eventually shortened to Miley. Her first couple of professional acting gigs, in the TV show Doc and the Tim Burton movie Big Fish, she was billed by her real name, Destiny Cyrus. 

Cary Grant (Archibald Alec Leach)

Early in his Vaudeville career, the great Cary Grant used his real name, Archibald Leach. When he got to Hollywood, as is so often the case, the studio didn't think the name wasn't "box office" enough, so he changed it to Cary Grant. 

Natalie Portman (Natalie Hershlag)

Natalie Portman's real name is Natalie Hershlag, but unlike so many others, she didn't change it because the name was "too ethnic" or not generic enough. As she explained to Vanity Fair in 2024, it was because she wanted to create a separate identity for her work and personal life. 

Portia De Rossi (Amanda Lee Rogers)

Portia de Rossi's name change came, at least originally, because she simply wanted a more exotic-sounding name when she started acting in her teens. Her given name, Amanda Lee Rogers, was just bland. She later revealed it may have been in part because she was struggling with her sexual identity as well. After marrying Ellen Degeneres in 2008, she changed it again, this time combining her real and stage names, Portia Lee James DeGeneres. Professionally she is still Portia de Rossi though. 

Joaquin Phoenix (Joaquin Rafael Bottom)

The Phoenix family has a fascinating history, one that includes time in the cult Children of God. When the family left that group, they made a collective decision to change their last name to one of rebirth, and Joaquin Rafael Bottom became Joaquin Phoenix.

Jamie Foxx (Eric Marlon Bishop)

Born Eric Marlon Bishop in 1967, Jamie Foxx took his stage name early when he was a standup. He says that he noticed women often got preferential spots during open mics, so he decided he wanted a more androgynous name, choosing Jamie. For his last name, he picked it as a tribute to his favorite comedian, Redd Foxx. 

John Wayne (Marion Robert Morrison)

It was a lot more common back in the day for actors to adopt cooler-sounding stage names and that was pretty much the case for Marion Robert Morrison, who ended up John Wayne. It's easy to see why he did it, whether it was a good idea or not. It worked for him. 

Tom Cruise (Thomas Cruise Mapother IV)

Top Gun: Maverick star Tom Cruise didn't change much, but it was a meaningful change. His real name at birth was Thomas Cruise Mapother IV, obviously named after his father, hence the suffix. Cruise had a very difficult relationship with his dad, so when he began his career, he dropped the Mapother in part to distance himself from his then-estranged father. The two later reunited when his father was on his deathbed. 

Olivia Wilde (Olivia Cockburn)

Actor and director Olivia Wilde's story about why she changed her name is pretty simple. She decided she wanted to stage name, and at the time was acting in Oscar Wilde's play The Importance of Being Earnest, which she loved. So she went with Wilde as a homage to the legendary playwright. 

Meg Ryan (Margaret Mary Emily Anne Hyra)

It's pretty easy to see why Meg Ryan chose to simplify her name when she started acting. Margaret Mary Emily Anne Hyra sure is a mouthful, so cutting a 25-letter name down to a seven-letter one makes sense. Meg is short for Margaret and Ryan is the maiden name of maternal grandmother. 

Kirk Douglas (Issur Danielovitch)

In another example of early Hollywood stars fearing their given names would hold them back for sounding too ethnic, Kirk Douglas changed his name from Issur Danielovitch. He told People it was because he feared it would hold him back and it sounded "too Semitic." 

Mahershala Ali (Mahershalalhashbaz Gilmore)

Like others on this list, it's easy to see why Mahershala Ali changed his name from Mahershalalhashbaz Gilmore. Not only is Mahershalalhashbaz really hard to spell and pronounce, but the Green Book actor also converted to Islam as a teenager, taking Mahershala Ali as his Muslim name. 

Marilyn Monroe (Norma Jeane Mortenson)

One of the most famous name changes in Hollywood history is Norma Jeane Mortensen changing her name to Marilyn Monroe. There is no big story behind it, it simply was a snazzier name and Monroe was her mother's maiden name. 

Michael Keaton (Michael Douglas)

This one is easy to understand. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice star Michael Keaton's real name is Michael Douglas. Obviously with an actor already in the union (Romancing The Stone star Michael Douglas), Keaton had to come up with a new name for billing. He chose the last name out of respect for early Hollywood star Buster Keaton. 

Michael Caine (Maurice Joseph Micklewhite)

If you think Maurice Micklewhite is a bit of a mouthful, you're not alone. English legend Michael Caine thought so too. In 2016, he legally changed his name from Micklewhite to Caine, because, according to the Batman Begins actor says it caused too much confusion at airports. 

Winona Ryder (Winona Laura Horowitz)

This one is a little in dispute - though not really. Charlie Sheen once claimed he gave Winona Horowitz her new name, Ryder, after listening to The Doors song "Riders on the Storm." Ryder says she got it when her father asked if she wanted a stage name while they were listening to Mitch Ryder. 

Demi Moore (Demetria Gene Guynes)

The story of Demi Moore's stage name (changed from Demetria Guynes) is both mundane and unique. Before she started appearing in acting roles, Moore married musician Freddy Moore when she was 18. So while Moore was her married name, it was a new name, just as her career was taking off. Demi is simply short for Demetria. 

Dove Cameron (Chloe Celeste Hosterman)

Dove Cameron has never explained why she chose Cameron as her stage name, but her reason for choosing Dove is bittersweet. Dove was her father's nickname for her and after he took his own life, she decided she wanted to go by that, in tribute to him. 

Cher (Cherilyn Sarkisian)

It takes a lot of gall and a lot of talent to decide you're going to go with a one-name moniker, and Cher has oodles of both. It's not hard to see what she did, she simply shortened her first name, Cherilyn, and dropped her last. 

Olivia Colman (Sarah Caroline Colman)

Like others on this list, Olivia Colman couldn't join the actors union with her birth name, Sarah Colman, so she changed it. As she explained in 2013, Colman chose Olivia because it is one of her best friends from college's name and she loved it. 

Carmen Electra (Tara Leigh Patrick)

There aren't many people who can claim the legendary Prince gave them their name, but Carmen Electra can. Way back at the start of her career, when she was working with the Purple One, he decided Tara wasn't good enough and named her Carmen. In 2023, Tara Leigh Patrick officially changed her legal name to Carmen Electra, because who wouldn't?

Lily James (Lily Chloe Ninette Thomson)

Like others here, Lily James renamed herself in honor of her late father, James. Though Thomson was also her father's name, of course, she wanted to do more, deciding taking on the stage name "James" to do so. 

Nicolas Cage (Nicolas Kim Coppola)

Nicolas Cage's first movie role was basically just a background character in Fast Times At Ridgemont High. He is billed in the credits by his legal name, Nicolas Coppola, and yeah, it's that Coppola. While on the set of Fast Times, his co-stars would endlessly quote his famous uncle's (Francis Ford Coppola) movies. He decided then and there he needed to distance himself from his famous family (Talia Shire is his aunt, and Sophia Coppola and Jason Schwartzman are cousins).

Julianne Moore (Julie Anne Smith)

Julie Smith is a pretty common name, and when the great Julieanne Moore hit Hollywood, she soon discovered the name was already taken in the union. She tried different combinations, but they were all spoken for. In the end, she combined her first and middle names, and took her father's name, Moore, as her surname. It's like having to go through dozens of combos to find the right vanity plate, but in the end, it's hard to imagine the actor with any other name. 

Mindy Kaling (Vera Mindy Chokalingam)

It seems Hollywood is still getting people to change their names if they or people around them fear a real name is too complicated or foreign. Indian actor and writer Mindy Kaling is a recent example when she simplified her name from Vera Mindy Chokalingam to Mindy Kaling. 

David Tennant (David John McDonald)

Former Dr. Who and Jessica Jones star David Tennant has a tried and true story as well, his real name, David McDonald, was taken. He explained some years ago on James Corden's show, where he also explained that he chose "Tennant" because he saw the name from a music magazine in an article about Neil Tennant of The Pet Shop Boys. 

Chevy Chase (Cornelius Crane Chase)

Chevy Chase comes from a very blood-blue family who can trace their roots in America back to the Mayflower. Cornelius Crane Chase, the Vacation star's real name, reflects this perfectly. The reason he goes by "Chevy" is because his grandmother started calling him that when he was a kid. So, not much of a story here, but he's real name is just so posh, that we had to include it here. 

Helen Mirren (Helen Lydia Mironoff)

Like others, this one is just a technicality. Helen Mirren was born Helen Lydia Mironoff in London to an English mother and a Russian father. When Mirren was 10 years old, her father anglicized the family name to "Mirren." 

See-through outfits have been a huge part of the celebrity fashion game over the past year or so, with fashion events and red carpets brimming with translucent fabrics and peeks of skin. Less common, however, is for women to fully embrace the moment by going completely sheer up top, but that’s precisely what Olivia Wilde did at the Saint Laurent show at Paris Fashion Week. The actress became the latest fashionista to “free the nipple” in a see-through black tank top, garnering the praise of many fans, including Ali Wong and Lisa Rinna.

Florence Pugh famously bared it all in a pink Valentino dress in Summer 2022, addressing those who were “terrified” by her show of body positivity with a lengthy social media post that included the hashtag #fuckingfreethefuckingnipple. Now, her Don’t Worry Darling director and co-star Olivia Wilde has put her own take on the risque look: 

Olivia Wilde paired her barely there tank top with a black khaki skirt and elbow-length leather gloves. The ensemble was from Saint Laurent’s fall 2024 collection, which reportedly featured a number of sheer looks, so even with the increasing popularity of the corset dress, it doesn’t look like the see-through movement is going anywhere. 

That’s going to be good news for many fans, who praised Olivia Wilde’s nipple-baring look in the comments of the pics she posted to Instagram. Her supporters even included a couple of well-known names:

Olivia Wilde has always been a big proponent of the “free the nipple” movement, donning her own see-through dress just weeks after Florence Pugh’s Internet-breaking moment, and the Booksmart director again just barely hid her chest behind black lace in what many called a “revenge dress” following her split from Harry Styles. 

She even sported a breast-baring look on a magazine cover after opening up to Vogue in 2021 about the importance of not allowing the stigmatization of the female chest to affect the way we see ourselves. At the time she said: 

Several other celebrities have joined Olivia Wilde and Florence Pugh in the see-through-top movement, including Julia Fox, who not only freed the nipples in a bold look at Cannes 2023 but also donned a completely sheer dress — with belly button cutout — at last year’s Paris Fashion Week. Brie Larson proved that she’s not afraid to display her chest for a Harper’s Bazaar fashion spread, and Kylie Jenner, Bella Thorne and Zöe Kravitz were amongst others who jumped on the naked dress trend.

We love to see the self-confidence displayed by all of these famous faces, and hopefully there’s a lot more of that to come. In the meantime, you can see Olivia Wilde and Florence Pugh in Don’t Worry Darling, which is available to stream with a Netflix subscription and Max subscription. 

It'll be her first big film project since all that Don't Worry Darling drama dominated headlines last year, but hopefully, Olivia Wilde's next directorial gig will feature far less drama. The actress-director was last seen onscreen as Ina Conrad in the 2022 period drama Babylon and her next project will reportedly reunite her with that film's leading lady, Margot Robbie, as they begin work on a Christmas comedy.

However, if you're looking forward to seeing the Barbie star—who recently opened up about the challenges of playing the fashion doll—onscreen in an Olivia Wilde-directed movie, we're sorry to disappoint. Robbie's participation in the Christmas comedy, which Deadline reports will be titled Naughty, will be of the producer sort, with the holiday flick backed by the actor's production company, LuckyChap Entertainment.

According to the outlet, Naughty will have a "Bridesmaids in the North Pole" vibe with a screenplay penned by Cocaine Bear's screenwriter Jimmy Warden. The funny-sounding film will allegedly follow a single mom, Mallory, who must track down Santa Claus himself to testify in her divorce hearing in order to gain custody of her son from her ex. 

LuckyChap has had quite the year: the production company, which Robbie founded in 2014 alongside her husband Tom Ackerley as well as Josey McNamara and Sophia Kerr, is behind this year's billion-dollar blockbuster Barbie. The star producer shrewdly traded her upfront salary for a chance at a bigger piece of the box-office gross, reportedly earning up to $50 million for the Mattel-themed movie. 

The company has also produced films including I, Tonya, Birds of Prey, Promising Young Woman and, most recently, Emerald Fennell’s scandalous drama Saltburn, as well as television series, like Hulu's Dollface. 

As for Wilde, Naughty will be the filmmaker's third feature film, after 2022's Don't Worry Darling and the 2019 high-school comedy, Booksmart. 

Despite middling critical reviews for DWD and all of that supposed beef between the Don't Worry Darling cast — Wilde famously dated that film's lead actor Harry Styles, and she was involved in a rumored feud with Styles' co-star Florence Pugh — the aforementioned period drama was a commercial success for the director, bringing in $87 million on a budget of $35 million. 

Booksmart was also well-received, earning $25 million against a $6 million budget and nabbing star Beanie Feldstein a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical. 

While being honored as one of Elle‘s Women in Hollywood at the magazine's 2022 ceremony, Olivia commented on the backlash she experienced while directing Don't Worry Darling and proclaimed that, despite it all, directing was "undeniably the greatest job on the planet." Per The Hollywood Reporter, she said:

As of press time, a studio is not yet attached to Naughty, and no casting has been publicized so far. However, keep your eyes on the 2024 movie schedule for future information on the upcoming Christmas flick that will be directed by Olivia Wilde and produced by Margot Robbie.

We’ve seen Florence Pugh continue the sheer trend along with many other celebs for over a year now, and A-listers rocking Barbiecore have been a constant as of late. Both these trends highlight the creativity and innovation in fashion, and they show off the personalities and styles of the people who wear them. Now, another stylish moment seems to be emerging as celebs like Heidi Klum, Olivia Wilde, Shania Twain and more have been seen wearing some great dresses that feature side cutouts. And let me tell you, I’m so here for this trend popping off. 

Heidi Klum  

Heidi Klum knows how to rock a trend in a totally unique and daring way. From wearing a sheer dress that looked like water to the Avatar: The Way of Water premiere to her throwing it back to the early ‘00s with a butt-baring dress, the America’s Got Talent judge is always pushing the boundaries of what’s trendy. 

That was 100% the case at the iHeart Radio Music Awards this spring when the model wore a sparkly blue Julien Macdonald dress, per Hollywood Life, that featured both a fun side cutout and played into the ongoing underboob trend that celebrities have been loving for the last year.

Janelle Monáe 

While Janelle Monáe loves a futuristic fashion moment, they also adore a timeless look too – like this gorgeous red Cong Tri gown they wore to the NAACP Image Awards in February, per WWD. With a bold red lip and some fab red heels, the Glass Onion actor absolutely slayed the red carpet in this incredible dress that featured a slit all the way up their leg and a fun cut-out on the side with some flattering ruching. 

Olivia Wilde 

While Florence Pugh has reinvented the sheer trend over and over again, her Don’t Worry Darling director, Olivia Wilde is totally killing this side cutout trend. At the 2023 Met Gala, which honored Chanel’s longtime creative designer Karl Lagerfeld, Wilde wore a white Chloé design with gold detailing that featured side cutouts on both sides of her abdomen.

According to Vogue, it was inspired by a Chloé design from the spring 1983 collection and music, which you can see with the violin-like shape at the center of the dress.

Lori Harvey 

Showing off a slightly more casual version of the side cutout trend, Lori Harvey wore a white dress to the Revolve Festival earlier this spring during Coachella. The look leans into the streetwear style that’s been a big trend for the last couple of years, and it capitalizes on the side cutout having a major moment. Her black bag and sunglasses tie the sneakers into the look perfectly, and the gold waist chain and hand chain bring the ensemble together. 

Kim Kardashian

If you want to talk about a woman who is always at the forefront of fashion, look no further than Kim Kardashian. While she’s cooked up some wild trends of her own, she also knows how to rock whatever is having a moment – this includes a sidecut out dress. 

During an outing in New York City, she wore a Gucci maxi dress, per Page Six, that featured two cutouts on her hips and two more on her side. The edgy ensemble with the slicked-back updo was such a good look for her, and both on-brand and on-trend. 

Shania Twain

Like a lot of the fashionistas on this list, Shania Twain loves a bold look that’s both on trend and totally unique to her. At this year’s CMT Music Awards, the Queen of Me artist rocked a super fun sheer butterfly-inspired dress by Prabal Gurung, per People. Complimenting the red and black sheer fabric, the cut of the dress also helps show off the butterfly effect with the two cutouts at her waist acting as the center point, while the top and bottom of the dress flutter out almost like wings. 

The “Man! I Feel Like a Woman” singer is known for her high-fashion and confident looks. Shania Twain loves a bold and unique moment, and she proved that by going topless for her album cover, and proudly repurposing her clothes on tour. She also loves to be experimental on the red carpet, while remaining on-trend, as she did with this cutout gown. 

Hilaria Baldwin  

In late 2022, Alec and Hilaria Baldwin went out for a night on the town to attend The Museum Gala at the American Museum of Natural History. Two months after giving birth to her and the actor’s seventh kid, according to Page Six, they went to this event, and she thrived in a Joy Cioci gown that featured a gorgeous cutout at her waist. 

The velvet look, perfect for the holidays, also featured a white bow that tied the dress together right below the cutout. To top it off, Hilaria wore her hair up, and paired the dress with some sparkly silver earrings and pumps. All around, this mom of seven absolutely killed the carpet in this trendy fit. 

Gigi Hadid 

You can always count on Gigi Hadid to take on a trend in a super fun way, and she did just that by wearing a dress to the Met Gala in 2023 that featured fun side cutouts and radiated Y2K energy. Harper’s Bazaar called it a “Goth Naked” look while describing the sheer ensemble, and I totally agree. The naked dress has been a beloved staple for the red carpet recently, and the model stepped up her take on it by also playing into the side cutout trend.

Like Wilde’s look, Hadid’s custom Givenchy dress was inspired by Karl Lagerfeld’s work, and you can feel that through the black gloves, and black and white color scheme. However, it’s also unique to her, and I love how the cutouts help give off a punk Y2K vibe that is very in at the moment. 

Overall, side cutouts are having a moment, and these people really know how to rock it. As the 2023 TV schedule keeps rolling along, more 2023 movie releases come out, more red-carpet events and fashion shows will happen, and I’m sure we’ll see more celebs donning this trend in the near future. I for one can’t wait. The cutouts are a way to make a look totally different from anything else, and it shows just how playful fashion can be, as these folks proved with their wonderful dresses. 

A couple of years ago, one of the biggest stories in Hollywood surrounded the production of the movie Don’t Worry Darling. Reports indicated that while director Oliva Wilde and star Harry Styles found love on the set, for others, including co-star Florence Pugh, things were far less rosy. Pugh and Wilde reportedly did not get along on set, but while it appeared that all that was behind everybody involved, now the movie is back in the news.

One of the rumors that had been floating around during the movie’s apparently troubled production was that the newly together Oliva Wilde and Harry Styles would disappear from the set from time to time. It was said that during some of these periods, Florence Pugh herself actually directed scenes in the movie. Now an unnamed producer is claiming to World of Reel that Pugh didn’t really direct parts of the film. However, he is saying instead that it was the film’s Director of Photography, Matthew Libatique that took over. The source claimed…

It was in early 2021 that rumors started to fly that, while on the set of the movie that she was directing and he was appearing in, Olivia Wilde had started a relationship with Harry Styles. Following her split from Jason Sudeikis, this became its own tabloid story. Following those rumors came new ones that the relationship was allegedly a problem on the set for some of the other actors, most notably Florence Pugh. While both women would later downplay any alleged “feud” between them, the rumors persisted.

While it’s impossible to substantiate something coming from an unnamed source, and so this still has to be seen as a rumor, it’s another statement indicating that there were certainly problems on the set of Don’t Worry Darling. This would at least explain specifically why some of the cast, including Pugh, may have had an issue with the relationship, as it may have been legitimately causing problems with production.

Even if we take this rumor as truth, it’s unclear just how often this happened. The source does say it was multiple days, but it’s hard to tell if we’re talking about a couple of days or if this was a regular occurrence throughout the entire production. 

One wonders if this most recent claim will set off a new set of rumors surrounding the film. Perhaps, with Don't Worry Darling significantly in the rearview mirror, people will be more willing to talk and we'll get a clear picture of just what in the world was going on. 

It’s been weeks since the Writers Guild of America members have gone on strike, picketing outside of major studios, as they seek fair wages and contracts in the age of increasing popularity in streaming, as well as provisions regarding artificial intelligence. The work stoppage for the union’s 11,000 members has shut down production on several projects and threatens to delay the starts of upcoming seasons of everything from Grey’s Anatomy to Stranger Things Season 5. Amid the strike, actors and others in the entertainment industry, including Mariska Hargitay, Pete Davidson, Flavor Flav and Merle Dandridge, continue to show solidarity with the writers. 

While no progress has been made, actors and others in the business continue to show their support for the unions, either by joining the writers on the picket lines, continuing to provide pay to their employees while production is shut down, or providing food to the striking workers. Let’s take a look at what they're doing and saying. 

Merle Dandridge

The cast members of Station 19 have been voicing their support for the Writers Guild of America members, with Danielle Savre joining the picket line in the early days of the strike, per The Wrap. On June 1, her co-star on the ABC firefighter drama Merle Dandridge joined the protests as well. She said of the writers (per SAG-AFTRA’s Twitter page): 

Station 19 is set to return this fall for Season 7, but as with all scripted content, that’s a big question mark right now.

Lil Wayne And Flavor Flav

Rapper Lil Wayne showed his “appreciation and support for the writers” by sending a Fatburger food truck to the workers on strike outside the Warner Bros. office in Burbank, California, on May 25. Several people posted photos thanking the “A Milli” artist: 

Flavor Flav made a similar move the week prior, providing those on the picket line outside the same office with pizza, burgers and fries. 

He reportedly danced along while “Fight the Power” blared on a boom box, Billboard reported, and numerous tweets showed him firing up the crowd as he fed them.

Mark Ruffalo

MCU actor Mark Ruffalo also joined the protests, talking about how high the stakes are right now for talent in the entertainment business, given how audiences are consuming movies and TV shows and the constant strides being made in artificial intelligence. He tweeted his support for SAG-AFTRA members to authorize their own strike, saying:  

Mark Ruffalo is just one SAG member who asked others to vote for a strike ahead of the start of the union’s negotiations with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers, which begin today. SAG-AFTRA President Fran Drescher sent union members an audio message late in May in support of a strike, Deadline reports, saying “acting careers are at stake.”

Mariska Hargitay

Law & Order SVU star Mariska Hargitay joined the picket line outside of Paramount Global’s New York City office on May 25, where she credited her success on the longtime NBC drama to the writers, saying: 

Many of the actors who have spoken out tend to agree that they would not be able to do their jobs without the writers.

Pete Davidson

Pete Davidson was set to return to Saturday Night Live as a guest host before the strike went into effect, and while we hate to think about what were sure to be some hilarious sketches on that episode, it was cool to see the comedian delivering pizzas to the writers protesting outside Silvercup Studios in New York. As he dropped off lunch, he told onlookers: 

It wasn’t just Pete Davidson’s SNL gig that was affected by the strike, but he also just wrapped the first season of Bupkis on Peacock with no news about its future. Davidson co-wrote the show with Judah Miller and Dave Sirus, who were also present on the picket line. 

Amanda Seyfried And Olivia Wilde

The conversation about fair wages and the changing landscape of entertainment was a big one in the days leading up to the strike, and a few actors had the chance to weigh in as they climbed the famed staircase at the Met Gala on May 1. Amanda Seyfried didn’t hold back her blunt opinion about what the union members are owed, telling Variety: 

Olivia Wilde also weighed in at the Met Gala, saying during a red carpet interview that she thought the strike was going to affect every part of the entertainment industry and even those beyond. However, this was a move the unions needed to make to get what they deserve. You can listen to her comments below: 

The Don't Worry Darling star said while she wished it didn't have to come to this, she supported the union and the writers.

Jennifer Coolidge

Jennifer Coolidge used her platform during the MTV Movie & TV Awards to show her solidarity with the writers. After being awarded the Comedic Genius award, The White Lotus actress said (via CNN): 

The support in Hollywood for the thousands of Writers Guild of America members on strike has been plentiful, with dozens of other celebrities standing with them either literally on the picket lines or through their words or actions. Rob Lowe, Quinta Brunson, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Elizabeth Olsen, Yvette Nicole Brown, Brian Tyree Henry, Drew Barrymore, Melanie Lynskey, Snoop Dogg and so many more have lent their voices to ensuring the union members are given the fair wages and contracts that their work has earned them. 

The last time the WGA went on strike was 2007, and the 100-day work stoppage took a big toll on every facet of the entertainment industry, including the audience. It remains to be seen how much longer the protests will continue before the two sides can come to an agreement, and what that means for the 2023 TV schedule going forward. 

Olivia Wilde is an accomplished actress and filmmaker, who has been making countless headlines over the last few years. Namely because of her ongoing legal situation with ex Jason Sudeikis, her former relationship with Harry Styles, and of course all the rumors Don’t Worry Darling drama. Wilde has likely gotten used to getting this attention, and seems to have a good sense of humor about it. Well there you have it. While some people out there would never dare to wear white to a wedding, that wasn’t the case for the Booksmart filmmaker. As previously mentioned, the filmmaker/actress has been the subject of countless headlines over the last year. This is partly due to her former relationships with both Harry Styles and her ex Jason Sudeikis. While she’s co-parenting with the Ted Lasso star, they turned heads when Sudeikis served Wilde custody papers while she was presenting at last year’s CinemaCon. Then there were the various stories that surrounded Don’t Worry Darling, including her rumored feud with Florence Pugh and (of course) Styles and Chris Pine’s spit gate.

We’re just a few weeks away from CinemaCon 2023, which, among other things, will feature the world premieres of the 2023 new movies releases The Flash and The Boogeyman. However, with the event looming so close, some may find themselves thinking of a specific, albeit unplanned moment last year’s CinemaCon, specifically when Olivia Wilde was served child custody papers on stage while talking about her movie Don’t Worry Darling, which can be streamed with an HBO Max subscription. Well, don’t count on something like that happening again this year, as CinemaCon reportedly has a new plan for its security.

According to sources who spoke with Variety, among the ways security will be beefed up at CinemaCon this year include guards stationed around the stage perimeter, as well each studio that presents at the Caesar’s Coliseum theater being able to decide who sits in the front row, a sharp contrast from previous years when pass holders at the event could camp out for such seats. It was also stated that the event’s organizers made these changes “early on” and "have communicated extensively that proceedings will be safe for all participants.” Mitch Neuhauser, CinemaCon’s managing director, would not comment on these reported security plans, instead just saying this:

In case you missed out on what happened to Olivia Wilde at last year’s CinemaCon, in the middle of her presentation for Don’t Worry Darling (which, at the time, was five months away from release), someone approached the stage on behalf of her ex-husband Jason Sudeikis to give her papers concerning the custody of their two children, Otis and Daisy. The following August, Wilde described that moment as being “upsetting” because it happened in her “workplace,” and said that the “breach in security” that resulted this person to hand her the papers was “scary.” 

Sudeikis explained that same month that because he didn’t want the papers served at Wilde’s home because her then-romantic partner Harry Styles might be present, nor did he want them served at the kids’ school “because parents might be present,” that resulted in what went down at CinemaCon. That said, the Ted Lasso star “deeply” regretted that “the incident marred her special moment.” The court documents were filed by Sudeikis in an effort to get Otis and Daisy to live in New York with him rather than go with Wilde to London, where she’d been thinking about moving to at the time, though that’s presumably no longer happening since she and Styles broke up in November. A judge ultimately ruled that California, where both Sudiekis and Wilde spend a lot of their time, is the children’s home state. 

Going back to CinemaCon 2023, the event will take place from April 24-27, and Disney, Warner Bros, Sony, Universal and Paramount will all present there. However, even with these extra security measures, should something surprising happen akin to what Olivia Wilde went through, we’ll let you know.

The familial drama between Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis continues to evolve. While the pair were never married, they do have children and so custody and support have been the issues at hand. The most recent fights between the actors have been over what court would make these decisions. Now Wilde is asking the court to order Sudeikis to pay child support because he has apparently paid none so far. 

In documents obtained by The Blast, Olivia Wilde reportedly asks the judge to order Jason Sudeikis to pay child support. Wilde claims that up until now the Ted Lasso actor has paid none, “despite my requests through counsel that we agree upon an interim support amount.” Sudeikis has been sharing some expenses, such as paying for half of his kids’ school tuition, but when it comes to basic necessities, like food, clothing, and child care, Wilde says she has been paying for everything herself.

In addition to the child care Wilde is also asking that Sudeikis cover her legal fees. She claims in the documents that he makes a great deal more money than she does, and so he should cover the legal costs. California law allows for this, which may have been part of the reason there was an argument between the two sides over jurisdiction. Sudeikis’ wealth will also certainly play into the child support question. 

While both Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis are powerful and in-demand talents, it’s not hard to see why he may, at least currently, have more money than she does. Sudeikis is the co-creator and star of Ted Lasso, an incredibly well-received and successful series. Wilde’s primary focus in recent years has been directing movies of the non-blockbuster variety. Wilde has money, we know that, but it is likely dwarfed by what Sudeikis is currently making.

Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis reportedly split up early in 2020, though that news was not widely reported until months after the fact. At some point, Wilde began a relationship with Harry Styles, who was acting in a film she was directing Don’t Worry Darling.

The legal battle between Jason Sudeikis and Olivia Wilde began almost a year ago when Wilde was served custody papers while standing on the stage at CinemaCon. Following that, there were arguments between the two sides regarding whether custody and/or support would be decided by a judge in New York or Los Angeles. California has now become the venue for all these decisions.

While there are clearly some legal issues to be ironed out between the two, Wilde and Sudeikis have been seen being, at the very least polite to each other, so one hopes they can come to agreements that work for everybody. 

Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis’ high profile split has made headlines in recent months as the couple has worked on custody arrangements – and in one notable moment the Don’t Worry Darling director was served onstage at CinemaCon. The two have been in court in recent weeks, and as part of a declaration filed in Los Angeles, Wilde shared her own net worth. 

The actress and director was sharing the state of her finances as part of a larger argument over money and why her ex is purportedly pushing her into debt. According to the paperwork, the actress makes a whopping $71K a month, but she is allegedly spending closer to $107k each month. This includes a slew of items not limited to: 

• $58,000 a month for her mortgage
• $4,000 a month for laundry and cleaning services
• $6,500 for basic utilities

The expenses were obtained by the Daily Mail and also include a declaration of the actress’ total assets. She revealed in her filing that she does have a slew invested in the stock market, with $3,902,689 in assets in that market. She also noted she has $6,021,860 invested in the real estate market. She keeps an additional $645,187 in bank accounts, according to the paperwork. That's more than $10 million.

Celebrity net worth articles are rampant on the internet, and some of these are far more accurate than others. In the case of Wilde’s finances, the information, which was filed last Thursday, seems accurate, though it was allegedly not supposed to be revealed. Her rep slammed the release of the paperwork in a statement (via E!).

The move is part of a larger back and forth the former couple have been having in the court system as they debate custody over their two children, Otis and Daisy. The two had been ensconced in a battle over where they should talk out the custody issue, with Wilde preferring LA and Sudeikis preferring New York, with Wilde landing a victory in the custody battle earlier this month. 

The Tron star has said the kids are already living in California and shouldn’t be asked to move to the East Coast. Olivia Wilde has additionally claimed Jason Sudeikis is acting in “bad faith.” While he can afford to keep these legal proceedings going in perpetuity, her financial declaration was written to indicate she cannot. Her legal team also noted:

The custody case is ongoing, though Jason Sudeikis and Wilde have had to come together to deal with varying outside issues, including getting sued by their ex nanny. Wilde also made headlines over the past year for dating her Don’t Worry Darling co-star Harry Styles. They subsequently broke up (and he was most recently seen snogging Emily Ratajkowski).  

There are perhaps no two celebrities hotter right now than Harry Styles and Emily Ratajkowski, especially when it comes to speculation about their dating lives. Rumors have circulated about the former One Direction member since his breakup from Don’t Worry Darling co-star Olivia Wilde in November, and he’s since been linked to former flames, including Kendall Jenner. Emily Ratajkowski, meanwhile, has been connected to several men — including Pete Davidson, after his breakup with Kim Kardashian — since her marriage to Sebastian Bear-McClard ended last September. It looks like we can stop all guesswork, because these two eligible singles were caught this weekend, making out with each other.

Grammy Album of the Year winner Harry Styles and EmRata were caught on video (obtained by the Daily Mail) dancing, kissing in the rain and getting a little handsy outside of a nightclub in Tokyo, where Styles was in town performing his Love on Tour concert.

The two were seen standing outside of a vehicle on the streets of Japan, and they didn’t appear to be concerned with onlookers, as the video showed them kissing passionately and appearing to have a good time, with Emily Ratajkowski breaking into a dance and Harry Styles moving along with her.

There’s no word on how serious the situation is between the celebs, but a source told the Mirror in February that there was a new woman in Harry Styles’ life, alleging: 

If those comments were in reference to Emily Ratajkowski, maybe things have progressed with the perceived couple, because there seemed to be no effort to hide either of their identities outside of that nightclub! Either way, the makeout sesh does seem to signal that both have moved on from their previous high-profile relationships. 

Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde dated for nearly two years after meeting on the set of Don’t Worry Darling, whose production was rife with behind-the-scenes drama that included an alleged feud between Wilde and Florence Pugh, and, of course, the “spitgate” situation between Styles and Chris Pine. Though Styles and Wilde broke up in November, there is reportedly no animosity between the two, and sources say they remain good friends.

More recently she was connected to comedian Eric André, but their “situationship” was short-lived, despite what looked like a fun Valentine’s Day of naked day-drinking.

The split between Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis has been one that has taken place largely in public view. Wilde’s relationship with Harry Styles that followed the break up was a very hot topic, as was the fact that Olivia Wilde got served with custody papers while she was literally standing on a stage at CinemaCon last year. That custody battle has been ongoing since then, but Wilde was just handed a significant win as child support will be dealt with in California along with the rest of the case.

Sudeikis and Wilde have been battling in recent months over where their custody disputes would even be heard. Wilde wanted the case to be handled in California, while Sudeikis was fighting for the case to be heard in New York. A judge had previously ruled that custody itself was a California matter, but Sudeikis’ lawyers had recently argued that child support should be heard in New York. However, TMZ reports the judge has now moved that case to California as well.

From the outside looking in, it looked like things were calming down between the pair. Pictures of Wilde and Sudeikis being friendly had been shot recently. Having said that, the legal arguments indicate that there is still more than a little animosity between the two. Wilde’s legal team accuses Sudeikis of going “behind her back” filing for support in New York while the two were apparently working with a family therapist.

With this situation now decided, eyes will certainly turn to California courts to see what happens with both custody and child support. It’s unclear how quickly such decisions might get made. We could see additional motions filed by one side or the other than might delay things further. And even once the judge rules there’s always the possibility of appeals if one side or the other takes issue with the ruling. We have seen custody disputes. Lie the one between Brad Pitt and Angelinas Jolie, go on for years.

Of course, this is not the only legal battle that Jason Sudeikis and Olivia Wilde are part of. However, in the other case, the exes are on the same side. The former nanny hired by Wilde and Sudeikis, who made a few anonymous, but public, statements about the relationship between the two stars in the period when Wilde and Styles were first together. The nanny is suing the former couple for wrongful termination and violation of various California labor laws.

It's unclear at this point exactly what either party is looking for as far as custody arrangements or child support needs. Since there has been this legal battle over where these arguments would be heard, there must be some issues that need to be ironed out.

One could argue that Don’t Worry Darling's alleged on-set feuds received more attention than Olivia Wilde's tepidly-reviewed movie itself. There were plenty of rumors surrounding the production, some of which involved Wilde's relationship with co-star Harry Styles. Few things are more awkward than attending a party, where someone you apparently have a "complex" relationship with is also present. According to Page Six, Don’t Worry Darling alums Olivia Wilde and Florence Pugh made appearances at the Creative Artists Agency’s star-studded pre-Oscars party at the Sunset Tower Hotel in Los Angeles on Friday. However, according to a source, the former co-stars were not featured in any photos together and weren't spotted schmoozing or having fun in the same orbit. The insiders specifically said that they "definitely did not see them interact."

Rumors of a possible feud between the two started after Olivia Wilde claimed that she fired former leading man, Shia LaBeouf, who later denied her statements. Leaked video of Wilde later showed her trying to ask Labeouf back and mentioning that it would be a "wake-up call for Miss Flo." (Florence Pugh and LaBeouf allegedly didn't get along while prepping for the flick.)

Feud assumptions only heated up after it was alleged that the Midsommar actress was displeased with her director's romance with Harry Styles, which was purportedly affecting production. The internet continued to speculate when the two collaborators released conflicting comments over Don’t Worry Darling’s sex scenes. The Booksmart director wanted audiences to be fixated on the “female hunger” during the intimacy scenes, while the Black Widow actress responded to people’s obsessions over those sequences, saying that the film is “bigger and better than that.” 

Pugh also participated in limited press for Don’t Worry Darling and, at the time, it was said that this was due to her production schedule for Dune 2. But the Oscar-nominated actress still showed up at the Venice Film Festival premiere. Around that time, it was also alleged that the two got into a “screaming match” during filming after the Little Women star grew frustrated over Wilde and Styles' purported on-set disappearances. When Wilde broke her silence on any feud rumors, she said she had “nothing but respect” for the British star. Despite that though, it sounds like she still wasn't keen to chat with her at the recent party.

So there may not have been any apparent interaction between the Don’t Worry Darling co-workers, but Olivia Wilde did have some friendly interactions with other stars at this shindig. On her Instagram, she posted a photo of herself with The Last of Us’ Pedro Pascal. In her caption, the actress also hilariously explained that her unusually tall stature is due to her wearing massive heels:

While it’s been confirmed that Harry Styles did not spit on Chris Pine, the Dungeons and Dragons star did explain why the internet thought the popstar spat on him to Esquire:

Now, we’re months removed from all this Don’t Worry Darling drama, and Pine’s responses have shown that he hasn’t taken it all too seriously, and has not seemed to worry about it much, darling. 

Wilde’s sophomore film had its moment, and now its stars are moving on to other projects and hopefully less drama. In Pine’s case, the silly memes and rumors have seemed to follow him as he promotes his movie on the 2023 movie schedule Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, which hits theaters on March 31. According to Genaro’s lawsuit, When Olivia Wilde’s relationship with Harry Styles started, she was not around the rest of her family as much, and as a result, more pressure and responsibilities were placed on the nanny. She claims she was working essentially around the clock, as a caregiver for Wilde and Sudeikis’ two children, but she says she also became a confidant of Sudeikis, listening to him vent about the situation with Wilde. 

Genaro says her added duties included many things that Wilde would have otherwise done and when the nanny allegedly had conversations with Wilde about this, it upset the Ted Lasso actor, leading her to feel she needed to choose sides. Genaro claims that the stress got to the point where she was advised by a doctor to take some time off, but when she tried to do so Jason Sudeikis fired her. This is the wrongful termination referenced in the suit. 

While her name was unknown at the time, Erika Genaro was a significant part of the Wilde/Sudeikis breakup story last fall when things were at their hottest. The nanny gave interviews, though without revealing her identity, where she talked about how the split between the couple happened and how Sudeikis was reacting to Wilde and Harry Styles being together. Both parties fired back at the nanny's claims, stating that what was being said was untrue. Now it seems that, unless there is a settlement, the truth of much of this could end up being settled in court. 

While there was clearly turmoil between Sudeikis and Wilde previously, which culminated with Wilde being served custody papers while standing on stage at CinemaCon, the former couple appear to have moved past the worst of things. Wilde and Sudeikis have been photographed being friendly to each other, and one assumes that whatever differences they have will be put aside when it comes to dealing with this lawsuit together.

On Monday, Olivia Wilde posted a video to her Instagram stories of A$AP Rocky filming his partner Rihanna as she performed Diamonds during the Super Bowl halftime show. She accompanied the video with a caption that read, “If I thought he was hot before, this really put me over the edge,” as well as tagging the Barbados-born Grammy winner, which  sent the internet into a tizzy. Yikes. While Wilde’s cringy post seems to have angered quite a few folks online, the Vinyl star says people are getting it “twisted.” The actress made a follow-up post on her Instagram defending herself, saying:

Wilde’s explanation may ease some of the tension between her and fans of Rihanna and A$AP Rocky, but it certainly won’t be enough to please everyone. Complicating the matter is the fact that the "Take a Bow" singer used her Super Bowl performance to announce her pregnancy with a second-child for her and the rapper. The artist revealed a surprise video of her and Rocky’s firstborn on TikTok back in December. No matter how Olivia Wilde addresses her seemingly thirsty social media post, it doesn’t seem like many are ready to buy it.

Wilde’s legal team is reportedly taking this to mean that all issues regarding the pair’s children should be handled on the west coast, but Sudeikis is apparently set on letting a New York judge rule on support.

More than likely we’ll see Wilde’s lawyers move to have the child support issue dealt with in California, and a ruling will be made that will either definitely set these issues there, or we could see the Sudeikis and Wilde traveling from coast to coast in order to deal with different aspects of custody arrangements.

Insiders also said that co-parenting between the star and her ex has been “manageable.” With that, she apparently isn’t looking to jump back into the dating pool right away. The same can’t be said for Harry Styles, however, who was recently spotted with former flame Ellis Calcutt. It’s yet to be confirmed whether the two are actually back together, though.

What can be said at the moment is that it’s nice to see Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis seemingly on good terms again. Surely, they’ll seek to maintain a friendly relationship as they continue to co-parent their two little ones. One has to imagine that such a tense time can’t be easy for the kids either and, at the end of the day, most can certainly agree that their well-being supersedes any kind of legal drama.

Many fans were sad to hear Olivia Wilde and Harry Styles broke up after two years together. But Wilde didn’t wallow in her sadness for long as she’s been living the single life since the split was announced late last year. She even made post-break-up headlines with a possible see-through revenge dress. However, while things appear to be going well, Wilde left fans wondering about her post-breakup life as she posted a cryptic Instagram Story referencing it.

According to Page Six, the Don’t Worry Darling director spoke on the subject of love to her Instagram followers. Wilde appeared to be having a moment as she posted an image from the 2004 romantic drama Tropical Malady. But it wasn’t the screenshot that caught followers’ attention, but the actual words displayed that sent fans into a tizzy. The subtitles read:

Wilde’s choice of words and image seemingly alluded to her past relationships. The actress could still be going through the motions of processing the breakup two months after splitting from the former One Direction member. However, the message could’ve also been directed toward her other exes – filmmaker Tao Ruspoli and Ted Lasso star Jason Sudeikis. If her post is anything to go by, the Booksmart director claimed she’s never truly been in love before. This could put her past relationships in a distinct perspective, especially given the reported issues with Sudeikis pre-dating her relationship with Styles.

Things appeared to be looking up for Wilde as she spent the holiday surrounded by family and friends while taking in the sights at Disneyland. The actress-director was reportedly focusing on her kids following her split from Styles. However, she appeared to go through a down moment like anyone else going through a breakup. A source claimed the break-up occurred because of the former couple living on different continents with Wilde co-parenting in the U.S. and Styles calling the U.K. home.

Outside of her children, Wilde has kept busy with her career following the drama surrounding Don’t Worry Darling. The psychological thriller (Wilde’s second time behind the lens) was marred in controversy and alleged feuds while receiving tepid reviews from critics. She appeared to bounce back with the Hollywood period drama Babylon alongside Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie. The film directed by Damien Chazelle divided critics who praised the cast while pointing out issues with its script. The period drama suffered further by flopping at the box office, although it did pick up multiple nominations this awards season.

It’s been a while since Damien Chazelle last released a movie, but now in 2022, he’s come back with his latest release, Babylon. Featuring a star-studded cast with several big names like Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, and more, I’m sure there are plenty of places that you’ve seen them before. 

If you’re trying to figure out why that one person looks so familiar, here is where the Babylon cast has been and what they have done. 

Brad Pitt

Starting off with the leading man, we have Brad Pitt as part of the Babylon cast. Pitt has been in an astounding amount of movies over the years, so you might have seen him in many before. 

Most recently, he was in 2022’s Bullet Train, but has appeared in several other films including Thelma & Louise, 12 Monkeys, Fight Club, Seven, Quentin Tarantino’s Inglorious Basterds, Moneyball, The Big Short, Ocean’s Eleven, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, and so many more. 

Margot Robbie

Next up, we have Margot Robbie, the leading lady of the Babylon cast. She’s been in movies such as the DC films that feature Harley Quinn, like Birds of Prey and The Suicide Squad. However, she’s also been in movies like The Wolf of Wall Street, The Legend of Tarzan, Bombshell, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, and Mary, Queen of Scots. 

She was also a part of the cast of the TV show, Pan-Am. 

Diego Calva

Diego Calva of the Babylon cast has appeared in several Spanish-language films, but has also appeared in the movie I Promise You Anarchy. Calva is more primarily known for his role in the Netflix original series, Narcos, as well as roles in shows such as The Inmate and Unstoppable. 

Jean Smart

Jean Smart is a part of the Babylon cast and has been around for many years in both television and movies. In terms of TV, some of her biggest roles have been in the HBO Max original series, Hacks, Mare of Easttown, Frasier, Designing Women, Fargo, Legion, Watchmen, and more. 

With movies, she was in the Reese Witherspoon-led, Sweet Home Alabama, and in other movies such as A Simple Favor, The Accountant, The Brady Bunch Movie, and others.

Jovan Adepo

Next up is Joven Adepo, who has starred in TV shows such as Jack Ryan on Amazon Prime, Sorry For Your Loss, When They See Us, Watchmen and The Stand. With films, he’s appeared in many movies, including the Viola Davis-led Fences, Mother!, The Violent Heart and Overlord.

Li Jun Li

Li Jun Li is next and she’s appeared in a few films, including Song One, The Humbling, and Ricki and the Flash. She’s also appeared in television shows, including Netflix’ Wu Assassins, the Paramount+ original series, Evil, Sex/Life, Minority Report, and Why Women Kill. 

P.J. Byrne

Moving on, we take a look at P.J. Byrne. The actor has appeared in several films, including Loveless in Los Angeles, Kissing Cousins, The Campaign, The Wolf of Wall Street, The Gift, Rampage, and more. He was also a part of the Bombshell cast, and was in Spirited on Apple TV+. 

He was also in shows such as The Game, the fantastic series, The Legend of Korra, Vinyl, Black Lighting, the Netflix series, Never Have I Ever, and other titles. 

Lukas Haas

Next up, we take a look at Lukas Haas. The actor has been in a variety of movies, where he's had a variety of large and small roles. These include, but aren’t limited to Witness, Brick, Leap of Faith, Red Riding Hood, Lincoln, First Man, The Revenant, and The Violent Heart. 

He’s also done plenty in television as well, having roles in shows like Criminal Minds, Touch, War of the Worlds, 24, and Entourage. 

Olivia Hamilton

Olivia Hamilton is actually married to Damien Chazelle, so that’s a fun fact for you to think about. But, she’s also a very talented actress who has appeared in several movies. She has appeared in the two Chazelle flicks, First Man and La La Land, but has also appeared in other movies such as Justine, The Truth About Santa Claus, Surrogate, and more. 

Tobey Maguire

If you don’t know who Tobey Maguire is, you’re living under a rock – and Babylon is actually going to be his big return to acting in live-action (if you don’t count his appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home). Maguire is mainly known for his role as Spider-Man in the original Spider-Man trilogy, but has appeared in several other films. 

Some of his most known are Brothers, The Great Gatsby (alongside Leonardo DiCaprio), Pleasantville, Pawn Sacrifice, and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, among other roles. 

Max Minghella

Moving on, we take a look at Max Minghella, who is a part of the Babylon cast. He’s appeared in several other movies, including the latest Saw film, Spiral, as well as The Social Network, The Internship, and the Daniel Radcliffe-led movie, Horns. He also is a part of the very popular original Hulu series, The Handmaid’s Tale.

Rory Scovel

Next up on the list, we have Rory Scoval, who is mainly a comedian and does some hilarious stand-up, but he is also an actor and a part of the Babylon cast, and has done plenty before. He’s been in television shows such as Those Who Can’t, The Eric Andre Show, Ground Floor, and most recently, has a role in the Apple TV+ original series, Physical.

He’s also been in films such as The House, I Feel Pretty, and Distancing Socially. 

Katherine Waterston

Moving on, we take a look at Katherine Waterson, who has been in movies such as Michael Clayton, The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby, the Fantastic Beasts films, Logan Lucky, Alien: Covenant, The World To Come, and The Current War. She was also a part of the Boardwalk Empire cast, as well as being on the television show, The Third Day. 

Flea

Flea is someone that you might recognize very easily, because he’s one of the members of the world-famous band, The Red Hot Chili Peppers. However, Flea has also been a part of the movies for a long time and has appeared in so many, it’s not a surprise that he’s a part of the Babylon cast. 

Some of his most famous roles have included playing Douglas J. Needles in both Back to the Future Part II and Part III, Boy Erased, Queen & Slim, and more. He also had a voice role in both Toy Story 4 and Inside Out. In television, he’s appeared as a guest in several shows, but some of his biggest roles include his voice role on The Wild Thornberrys, Punk, and 2022’s Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Jeff Garlin

Next up, we have Jeff Garlin of the Babylon cast. Garlin is primarily known for his role on the popular ABC sitcom, The Goldbergs, which he starred in until 2022. Some of his other big roles in television include Arrested Development, Curb Your Enthusiasm and Mad About You.

Garlin has also appeared in several movies as well, with some of his biggest being Laggies, After the Sunset, and Handsome. He also voiced Buttercup in both Toy Story 3 and Toy Story 4, and did some voice-work for WALL-E. 

Eric Roberts 

Moving on, we take a look at Eric Roberts, who has been in so many movies and television shows. Like, I mean that with my whole heart. You could have seen this man anywhere. So, for the sake of keeping this list nice and short, we’re going to go over some of his most known movie roles, which includes big names like The Dark Knight, The Expendables, Runaway Train, Star 80, King of Gypsies, The Specialist, and more. 

He’s also appeared in several television shows such as The Finder, Saved by the Light, Suits, The Young and the Restless, Heroes, and Less Than Perfect. 

Ethan Suplee

Next up is Ethan Suplee from the Babylon cast, who has appeared in movies such as the sports film, Remember the Titans, American History X, The Hunt, 2022’s Dog and more. He also appeared in shows such as the underrated Netflix series, Santa Clarita Diet, The Ranch, Jennifer Falls, Boy Meets World, and Good Girls.

Samara Weaving

Samara Weaving is also in the Babylon cast, and has appeared in so many great roles in movies. She starred in the funny horror comedy Ready or Not, but also appeared in films such as Mayhem, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, Guns Akimbo, Snake Eyes, and The Valet. Weaving also had several main roles in shows such as SMILF, Nine Perfect Strangers, and Out Of The Blue. 

Olivia Wilde

Last but not least is Olivia Wilde, who has appeared in many movies and television shows. She rose to fame in the medical series, House, but has since moved a lot more into the world of movies with films such as Meadowland, Tron: Legacy, Rush, Alpha Dog, Love The Coopers, Cowboys & Aliens and more. She also directed both the coming-of-age movie Booksmart, and 2022’s Don’t Worry Darling. 

In television, she also starred in shows such as The O.C., Skins, The Black Donnellys, and Vinyl. 

With so many stars to pick from, you may have just found a new actor's filmography to look into. Whatever it is you watch after Babylon, I’m sure it’ll be a great time.  

When Don’t Worry Darling premiered at the Venice Film Festival all the attention was on the cast and the highly publicized alleged feud between Olivia Wilde and Florence Pugh. Lots happened, or allegedly happened, like spit-gate (which Chis Pine denied, and Harry Styles addressed at a concert), and Florence Pugh missing the press conference, among other things. One wholesomely hilarious thing that really did happen was Harry Styles kissing Nick Kroll after the screening, and now Kroll is opening up about that experience, and how he’d like this story to replace one iconic fairytale. 

In an article for EW paying tribute to Harry Styles, who has had a massive year, Kroll wrote about the singer-actor and his successes. The Big Mouth co-creator praised his Don’t Worry Darling co-star’s ability to handle all the attention he gets with “class and grace,” and his knack for performing. He also cheekily talked bout a kiss the two shared at the Venice Film Festival, writing: 

Admittedly it would be quite hilarious if Kroll could somehow change the Princess and the Frog story to be about him and Harry Styles at the Venice Film Festival. I could totally see it! Styles as the princess, Kroll as the frog, who will turn into a beautiful prince, it would be amazing. Based on the kiss at the festival, clearly, the two have the chemistry to pull this off, as you can see for yourself here: 

The comedian also noted that because of this kiss, he’s become “much cooler” with his nieces and nephews. Along with becoming cooler among younger folk, I also don’t think it’s a stretch to say Kroll got to live out the dreams of many as he made out with one of the biggest pop stars on the planet. 

Kroll also gushed over how Styles “doesn't take himself, or any of it too seriously,” and it was a pleasure working with him.

As for the overall attention surrounding the film, the Human Resources co-creator explained that he first became aware of the Don’t Worry Darling drama in Venice, and he has had a good sense of humor about the drama since, cracking jokes about spit-gate among other points of drama. 

So, while there is lots of talk about Harry Styles' love life, between him and Oliva Wilde calling it off and the rumors he’s hanging out with Kendall Jenner. One thing we know for sure is he shared quite the kiss with Nick Kroll at the Venice Film Festival, and both he and the public loved it.

Olivia Wilde has had, well, a pretty wild few months in the public eye. While we expect to see her in movies and on red carpets, her personal life has been the subject of most of the attention on her in recent days. First because of her relationship with Harry Styles, and now because the relationship with Styles is apparently over. But Wilde is reportedly putting her own attention on her kids, and that seems to be working out.

The Harry Styles/Olivia Wilde relationship, which somehow ended before we started calling them WyldeStyle, was the talk of Hollywood gossip as it followed the end of her relationship with actor Jason Sudeikis, which led to high profile public moments like Wilde being served with custody papers while on stage at CinemaCon. The end of the new relationship was a surprise to many fans, and reportedly to Wilde herself. An unnamed source that spoke with ET said the actress is taking the breakup hard, so she has focused on co-parenting her kids with Sudeikis. According to the source… 

There were some pretty significant accusations thrown around that painted both Wilde and Sudeikis in a less than flattering light during the period when their relationship was coming to an end. Assuming this source is accurate, it’s good to hear that the pair have found a way to co-parent that is working for everybody involved.  

And we have photographic evidence that Olivia Wilde is putting energy into her kids, as she recently posted pictures to Instagram of a trip they took to celebrate the holidays at Disneyland. I say she did it for the kids, but honestly, based on the look on her face in the pictures and her comments in the post that it’s her favorite place, it looks like the Disneyland trip may have been for self care for Wilde herself as much as them. And I can’t exactly blame her. When the world gets too much for me and I need a break, Disneyland is always the place I want to go too. 

Olivia Wilde certainly looks to be having a lot of fun at Disneyland, and really that’s all you can hope for. From riding KIng Arthur's Carousel to dancing under the fake snow on Main Street U.S.A., Disneyland at Christmas is an even more magical place than it is the rest of the year. Breakups are never fun and Wilde has seen more than her share recently. Hopefully some Disney magic helped.

Ever since it was revealed that Olivia Wilde and Harry Styles had a romantic connection, folks have been abuzz online. Concepts like their age difference, Styles' insane fame, and their work relationship have resulted in countless eyes on the (former) couple. The twitter of podcast Chicks in the Office dubbed Wilde's new look as her own revenge dress, a la the late Princess of Wales. As they tweeted:

Smart money says there will be a ton of scrutiny on Olivia Wilde for the foreseeable future. This is partly due to the Harry Styles of it all, and also because to the rumors of a feud with Don't Worry Darling's leading lady Florence Pugh aka the queen of see through looks.

As previously mentioned, the see through look as been a trend lately for celebs. In many ways it feels like Florence Pugh is responsible, as she broke the internet when in a sheer pink dress that revealed her breasts. The backlash was so loud that she even addressed it online, while continuing to stun with more see through outfits. And given her rumored feud with Olivia Wilde, it's definitely going to turn heads that the filmmaker/actress got in on the fun.

Harry Styles’ love life was a massive topic of conversation for a while now, as the One Direction alum was in a relationship with his Don’t Worry Darling director, Olivia Wilde. The pair garnered quite a bit of attention amid their romance, and it tangentially became connected to the drama surrounding Wilde’s latest movie. Earlier this month, it was reported that the two are “taking a break” from their nearly two-year relationship. Interestingly enough, new rumors now claim that in the aftermath of the breakup, Styles is hanging out with an old flame – Kendall Jenner. 

Harry Styles and Kendall Jenner, who dated off and on between 2013 and 2019, have allegedly been spending time together as of late. According to one of The Sun, Jenner has served as a source of support for the singer in the wake of his split from Olivia Wilde. The two may not have been able to make things work romantically, but it sounds like they still share a close bond due to their unique statuses: 

Alleged friends of the stars also noted that the timing of these purported meet-ups is “interesting,” considering what the model and reality TV alum is going through at the moment. The Kardashians alum and Phoenix Suns phenom Devin Booker recently broke up after dating for over two years. With that information in mind, it’s hard not to look at this information from a suspicious point of view. However, the source also says that these recent engagements may not necessarily indicate romantic sparks:

You have to wonder if Harry Styles would really be willing to jump into a new relationship after his time with Olivia Wilde. In January 2021, he was first linked to Wilde, who’d split from longtime partner Jason Sudeikis months prior. There’s been much speculation regarding whether Wilde and Styles’ romance overlapped with her previous one. Wilde and Sudeikis’ former nanny claimed that was the case. However, the Booksmart director shut down rumors that she left Sudeikis for Styles. On top of all this, there was also the alleged feud between Wilde and Florence Pugh, the leading lady of Don’t Worry Darling. In October, it was said that the couple’s relationship was withstanding the drama, though. 

Recent events would suggest that Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde are indeed done, though the jury is definitely still out on him and Kendall Jenner. It’ll be interesting to see whether the two actually do end up rekindling their love or if (or when) the singer ends up with another person entirely.

After almost two years together, it appears that Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde have decided to call it quits for the time being, and take a break from their relationship. The duo who met on the set of Don’t Worry Darling, and were subjects of the highly publicized alleged drama surrounding the film, have apparently decided to go their separate ways. 

In regard to the break-up, a source told People:

This news comes right as Styles is ending his residency in Los Angeles as part of his world tour for his album Harry's House. He is also about to begin the next leg of his tour in Mexico, and then Australia. Meaning he will not be in one consistent place for the foreseeable future. 

Following the turbulent lead-up to the release of Don’t Worry Darling, which Wilde directed and Styles starred in, there were questions about how the two were holding up. Though they quickly put the kibosh on those rumors, and piled on the PDA in NYC not too long ago. Since the film's release, Wilde has also been seen a few times at Styles' concerts. However, it seems like things might be over for real this time.

Following the alleged break-up, the source also said the two are still “very close friends,” and another friend of the couple added: 

This does seem like an extremely logical reason to take a break, or even break it off. Styles is currently touring the globe with his insanely popular album, and he has had two movies on the 2022 film schedule, Don’t Worry Darling and My Policeman. In short, he's a busy, busy guy. Meanwhile, Wilde has two young kids, 6-year-old Daisy, and 8-year-old Otis, who she co-parents with her ex Jason Sudeikis. The two seem to be in two different places in life with differing priorities, and maintaining a long-distance relationship would be incredibly difficult, especially given how busy both of them are. 

This news comes on the heels of not only the intense attention on the Don’t Worry Darling drama, but also after a lot of attention was drawn to the relationship between Wilde and Sudeikis. While the two’s issues reportedly predated Styles, the Booksmart director and Ted Lasso star’s nanny has come out saying there was allegedly overlap between Wilde being with Sudeikis and Styles. 

The nanny also claimed that Sudeikis went through Wilde’s phone and found out she had kissed Styles while the two were together. However, the actress has said the rumors about her leaving the SNL alum for her Don’t Worry Darling co-star are “complete horseshit.” 

The sources in the story from People claiming Styles and Wilde are now on a break said the intense attention surrounding them has been difficult. They also said the relationship has gone through many “ups and downs.” 

If this is indeed the end of Wilde and Styles, I hope the reports are true that it was an amicable breakup, and that the two are still on good terms. The last thing either the of them (and the public, honestly) need is another thing to worry about, darling. 

I think it’s safe to say that the Don’t Worry Darling press tour, specifically at the Venice Film Festival, was one of the more talked about situations this fall. From Florence Pugh doing no press but attending the premiere, to the alleged spit-gate, to Chris Pine staring into nothingness at the press conference, this event was all over social media. Now, as Halloween has come and gone, costumes inspired by this wild weekend were all the rage, and even one of Pugh’s friends dressed up as her, as the actress posted a photo with them at a Halloween party. 

There were lots of 2022 movies to base Halloween costumes on this year including this film. However, I definitely saw my fair share of spooky fits that were based on this intense press tour instead of the fashion from Don’t Worry Darling itself. Even Pugh’s pal got in on the fun, dressing up in a costume that resembled the purple Valentino look she wore when she arrived in Venice, late. Pugh posed as Cruella de Vil with her friend dressed in purple and posted it in her Halloween photo dump on Instagram, check it out: 

For some context, this purple look went viral after Pugh missed the Venice press conference for Don’t Worry Darling. However, she attended the premiere of the film later that day. As all of this went down, the internet was buzzing, because it added an intense amount of fuel to the fire of rumored drama about Pugh and Olivia Wilde. 

Along with Pugh’s friend, many others dressed up as various people involved with the Venice Film Festival premiere of this movie. For example, were inspired by Chris Pine's blank stares at the press conference, a moment that turned into a viral meme.  

In the time during and since the film’s release, rumors have run wild about alleged drama, and Olivia Wilde has been turning it down. The director even referenced something Pugh had said, explaining that they hadn’t signed up for a “reality show.” Along with Wilde, others have spoken up about various points of alleged drama and denied it. This includes Chris Pine’s reps after spit-gate, which was when the internet thought Harry Styles spat on him. Styles also went on to joke about the incident at one of his concerts. 

Like Styles, Pugh seems to have a good sense of humor about all of this, especially since she posed with her friend who dressed as her for Halloween. The ending of the relationship between Olivia Wilde and Jason Suidekis, following by the beginning of the relationship between Olivia Wilde and Harry Styles, is the sort of celebrity gossip that would likely make a few headlines under any circumstances. But this particular situation has made more than its share of headlines as we’ve heard a lot about what was allegedly going on as one one relationship ended and another began.

One of the main sources of information about what went on inside the home of Sudeikis and Wilde has been a nanny who reportedly worked for the couple. The nanny, who has continued to protect her identity and has only made appearances with her face obscured, was the first to specifically claim that Wilde’s relationship with Styles began before her relationship was Sudeikis was over. And while the former couple have denied the nanny’s claims, she recently appeared on Inside Edition and added details, saying she walked in on Sudeikis after he had discovered what was going on. The nanny said… 

According to the nanny, Jason Sudeikis had looked at Wilde’s Apple Watch, and had discovered a text that she had sent to somebody else. In the text Wilde allegedly reveals that she had initiated the relationship with Styles. The nanny said the text read…

The nanny has made other public comments regarding the relationship, including a claim that Wilde gave back a dog in order to spend more time with Styles. She also stated that at one point Sudeikis physically laid down behind Wilde’s car in order to prevent her from going to see him, a claim she repeated here.  

For her part, Wilde has denied that the relationship with Styles began this way. She and others have stated that the relationship was over before Styles entered the picture. While everybody involved has, for the most part, attempted to keep these personal issues private, we have seen them unavoidably enter the public on occasion, such as when Wilde was served with custody papers while on stage presenting at CinemaCon.

Whether or not these claims are ultimately true is mostly irrelevant. The people involved will work through it and get on with their lives. Hopefully everybody ends up in a better place eventually. 

When the 2019 comedy Booksmart came around, several people involved at the top levels were still getting their feet wet in terms of storytelling, filmmaking, and appealing to a broader audience. It marked the directorial debut of actress Olivia Wilde, and her two lead actors – Kaitlyn Dever and Beanie Feldstein – were graduating to leading roles after entertaining in ensembles. It was a learning experience for everyone involved (though based on the recent drama regarding Don’t Worry Darling, Wilde might have needed different lessons). And now that Dever is moving on to Ticket to Paradise, we wondered what she took away from her Wilde collaboration, and how it still applies to her current work.

In the new movie Ticket to Paradise, Kaitlyn Dever plays the grown daughter of Julia Roberts and George Clooney. That’s some DNA! And while Dever cut her teeth on the extremely successful sitcom Last Man Standing opposite Tim Allen, her work on Booksmart propelled her into the broader spotlight of movie stardom, and set her up for the opportunity to play in the same comedic sandbox as Roberts and Clooney. So when Dever sat down with CinemaBlend’s ReelBlend podcast, she opened up about what Olivia Wilde taught her with regards to running a set, and being open to ideas. Dever told us:

As Kaitlyn Dever goes on to explain, this wasn’t as easy as one might imagine, because more than half of that movie was filmed in the evening, leading to long nights of shooting and an unusual schedule for the cast and crew. But she says even at 3 am, the cast was still having the best time filming. As Dever went on to explain:

It sounds like Kaitlyn Dever had a much better collaboration with Olivia Wilde on Booksmart than Black Widow star Florence Pugh did making the drama-thriller Don’t Worry Darling, which spurred all sorts of rumors following production and clouded the movie’s release (especially the world premiere in Venice). The director has come out and said that she remains proud of Don’t Worry Darling, just like Kaitlyn Dever is proud of the way that Booksmart turned out.

A lot of drama occurred during the promotion of Olivia Wilde’s Don’t Worry Darling when it was said that she was moving on from her longtime partner Jason Sudeikis with Harry Styles, the leading male in her movie. Questions have been surrounding whether or not this couple’s relationship was on the rocks before or after Harry Styles came into the picture. Despite their nanny’s claims that things were fine between Wilde and Sudeikis pre-Styles, it’s been reported that this ex-couple had relationship issues way before that.

Jason Sudeikis and Olivia Wilde were engaged in January 2013 and had two children together. However, a media circus occurred after the news that they split in 2020 with sources believing her Don’t Worry Darling actor Harry Styles was the cause of it. A source told People that despite their nanny saying they were happy together during Labor Day weekend of 2020, these two reportedly had issues before then.

It’s a relief to know that they’re not letting any problems between them get in the way of parenting. Things could have gotten messy in a Brangelina sense when Olivia Wilde was awkwardly served custody papers at CinemaCon while promoting Don’t Worry Darling. However, Sudeikis came clean about serving his ex when he said he didn’t want to serve the custody papers in the presence of Harry Styles or their two children. When plans didn’t work out for the papers to come to Wilde’s hotel room, the server ultimately showed up at the Warner Bros. panel. The Booksmart director shared her feelings about the incident that this was something that never should have been allowed to happen, but also wasn’t “surprised” when it did. Sudeikis said he experienced deep regret for how things turned out. 

Despite what a messy breakup Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis endured, a separate industry source said the two are trying to move on with their lives in keeping their six-year-old daughter Daisy and eight-year-old son Otis in mind.

The ex-couple may know they have to communicate with each other for the sake of their kids, but that can be easier said than done. Allegedly, these two have been handling co-parenting not without struggles in needing help communicating custody schedules. There’s also the issue of deciding if New York, London, or Los Angeles is where they plan on raising their kids. Hopefully, these two are able to work out their differences to avoid any hostility around their young children.

Reportedly, Jason Sudeikis and Olivia Wilde had issues before Harry Styles made his way into the Don’t Worry Darling set. Even Wilde has addressed these rumors saying her and her ex-partner’s issues stemmed during the pandemic when they were making a go of co-parenting during lockdown which turned out to be unsuccessful. This shows that ultimately, the only people who have a right to say how an ex-couple broke up are the ex-couple themselves. As far as 2022 movies go, none have had the wild life of Don’t Worry Darling. Countless headlines were written about the thriller, mostly surrounding various rumored feuds and reports of drama between the cast and filmmaker Olivia Wilde, as well as her romantic connection with pop star Harry Styles. But the question remains: how is Wilde and Styles’ relationship holding up after Don’t Worry Darling press tour drama?

Don’t Worry Darling had a rough road to theaters, thanks to the various rumored feuds and drama surrounding the project. While this ultimately resulted in the movie going to #1 at the box office, one has to wonder how the individuals involved are doing. A new report by ET indicates that Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde are still going strong, now that the movie’s been out for a month.

According to an unnamed source reportedly close to Olivia Wilde and Harry Styles, their romanic relationship has been going strong in the wake of Don’t Worry Darling’s release. They actually claim that the chaos and drama surrounding the project actually resulted in the two celebs. And now that Wilde and Styles have survived the exhausting press tour for the project, they’re seemingly enjoying each other’s company as things get back to normal.

Indeed, last month seemed like an extremely busy time for Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde. On top of promoting the release of Don’t Worry Darling, Styles was also in the midst of a world wind tour, including a historic run at Madison Square Garden. But from the sound of it, the pair of A-listers have been able to spend much more time together now that their movie is in the rear view.

Olivia Wilde and Harry Styles met on the set of Don’t Worry Darling, and seemingly developed a strong relationship while working on the thriller together. The internet basically broke with the news that the two were involved, especially given factors like their working relationship, age difference, and Wilde’s split from her ex Jason Sudeikis. Thing got more complicated as their movie got closer to release, and wild rumors about drama on the set made their way online.

As previously mentioned, there were countless rumors about drama around the Don’t Worry Darling set– some of which were centered around Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde themselves and possible overlap with Jason Sudeikis. Perhaps the most popular rumored feud was between Wilde and Florence Pugh. Then there’s the drama surrounding Shia LaBeouf’s departure from the movie, as well as #SpitGate, where fans thought Styles spat on Chris Pine at the movie’s Venice premiere. 

Don’t Worry Darling is still in some theaters, although fans are hoping to see it streaming on HBO Max like other Warner Bros. projects. In the meantime, check out the 2022 movie release dates to plan your next movie experience. 

One of the best comedies in recent memory was Olivia Wilde’s Booksmart. The coming-of-age movie is about two best friends (played by Beanie Feldstein and Kaitlyn Dever) who’ve been too busy studying throughout high school to party, but decide to finally go for it right before graduation. Although Wilde recently pursued a completely different film in the drama-filled thriller, Don’t Worry Darling, could a sequel or spinoff happen at some point?  

We’d love to see it. And it came up in CinemaBlend’s recent conversation with Kaitlyn Dever for one of her latest movies, Rosaline. Since the comedy places a Shakespeare side character, Romeo’s ex, at the forefront, I asked the actress if there was a supporting character from one of her other movies she’d like to see get the spotlight. Obviously things went to Booksmart immediately. In her words: 

If you need some refreshing on her answer, Noah Galvin played George, a theater kid who is somewhat of the school’s resident mean queen in Booksmart. He stole so many of the scenes of in the 2019 movie, such as bragging about living in Barcelona, doing karaoke to Alanis Morissette’s “You Oughta Know,” hosting his extravagant murder mystery party or bantering with Beanie Feldstein’s Molly. 

Like many of us, my own favorite supporting character in Booksmart is Gigi, marvelously played by the late Carrie Fisher’s daughter Billie Lourd. When I threw that idea out there, Kaitlyn Dever said this:

In other words, we just need another Booksmart, right? It would certainly be fun to see the comedy continue from another character’s perspective and both of those are inspired choices. Booksmart might go down in history as one of the best women-led buddy comedies, can we get more of the hilarity Olivia Wilde crafted... please? 

Dever seemed up for it on the heels of starring in Rosaline, which is now available to stream with a Hulu subscription. The movie based on Romeo and Juliet is filled with twists on the original tragedy and stars Minnie Driver, Kyle Allen, Sean Teale and Isabela Merced. Booksmart ends with Dever and Feldstein’s characters having to go separate ways for the summer to follow their respective dreams after high school. Maybe there could be some high school reunion party while their in college or a few years down the road that could be explored? Either way, that movie is an absolute gem, I’m turning it on immediately. 

Olivia Wilde’s relationship with Harry Styles has been a topic of public interest for nearly two years now. Still, their romance has been scrutinized more recently over a number of reasons. Things escalated a bit this past week when Wilde and ex-fiancée Jason Sudeikis’ former nanny gave an extensive interview in which she made claims against the actress/director. Within those comments was the accusation that Wilde abandoned her dog in order to spend more time with Styles. Now, the animal shelter from which she rescued the pup is speaking out on the matter. 

The unnamed ex-nanny claimed that Olivia Wilde quickly became consumed in her relationship with Harry Styles, to the point that she decided to return her dog to the shelter. The pooch, Gordy, was a pet to both Wilde and Jason Sudeikis. Upon hearing the accusations, Los Angeles’ MaeDay Rescue responded via a lengthy Instagram post. The non-profit shelter explained how the Booksmart director adopted the dog and claimed that there were specific reasons as to why he wasn’t meshing with the Wilde/Sudeikis household:

These factors apparently led the Hollywood star to make a big decision regarding the dog’s future. As the shelter asserts, she ultimately decided to find a new home for him and, apparently, that wasn’t too difficult, since the canine had already become very tight with someone else: 

The group went on to say that the star is “a huge animal rescue advocate” and that she “rehomed Gordy out of compassion and love for him.” Since the nanny’s interview went viral, both the Tron: Legacy alum and Sudeikis have shot down the numerous claims. And this latest statement from MaeDay Rescue seems to, at the very least, back them up in terms of the allegations involving their dog.

Said nanny also claimed that there was overlap between Olivia Wilde’s relationships with Harry Styles and Jason Sudeiks. Wilde candidly denied that assumption last month, calling the notion “complete horseshit” and saying that her and Sudeikis’ “relationship was over long before I met Harry.” She and Styles were first romantically linked around January 2021, while she and Sudeikis allegedly split sometime in 2020.

The celebrity couple’s relationship recently had to weather the storm that was the Don’t Worry Darling press tour. Olivia Wilde earned a great deal of attention due to the alleged fued between her leading lady Florence Pugh. Meanwhile, Harry Styles was accused of spitting on co-star Chris Pine. (Pine’s rep has denied that such a thing happened). Ultimately, Wilde and Styles still appear to be going strong though, despite any of these doggone (sorry) controversies.
