We finally got some news about the last Fast and Furious film, and it's big. After quite a bit of waiting, Vin Diesel revealed the official release date for the franchise's finale, and he seemingly shared the title too.

Posting a photo of Paul Walker handing him a set of keys, Vin Diesel took to Instagram to share this big update about the long-awaited final Fast and Furious movie. Writing about how these flicks have "defined us and become our legacy," the Dom actor closed out his update by revealing the movie's release date and what seems to be the title:

Well, there you have it. As we work through the 2026 movie schedule, it's been revealed that the eleventh movie in the Fast and Furious franchise is seemingly titled Fast Forever, and it will premiere a little over two years from now, on March 17, 2028.

Now, Fast X was released back in 2023, which means five years will have passed between it and Fast Forever. Back in 2024, Louis Leterrier, who directed the last movie, said he thought Fast 11 would come out in 2026, to honor the 25-year anniversary of the franchise. However, in 2025, reports came out about alleged reasons why Fast Forever was in limbo. So, the release window for this movie had become a little unclear.

However, now it’s solidified. According to Vin Diesel, who is constantly hyping up the Fast movies, it will be released a little over two years from now.

This comes about seven months after Diesel said that the late Paul Walker's character Brian might return for the final Fast movie. According to the actor (via THR), he said he'd make the film under the conditions that it brought the franchise back to LA, returned to "car culture," and reunited Dom and Brian.

Now, while it's unclear how exactly Brian will come back, we do know that the final Fast and Furious movie will be filmed in LA. Back in early 2025, amid the tragic LA wildfires, the Dom actor pledged that “Fast will finally return home.”

Considering The Fast and the Furious took place in LA, this feels like the perfect place to close out the story. And using the title Fast Forever feels perfect too. Diesel told the AP back in 2021 that “all good things should” come to an end, and he noted that this franchise’s conclusion felt like a “deserved” one. So, I’m sure they have something very special planned.

Now the wait is really on for Fast Forever, and as we learn more about it, we’ll keep you posted. However, if there’s one thing I know about all this, it’s that family is forever.

In 2013, Hollywood and the world at large lost a bright star in Paul Walker. The beloved actor had various credits under his belt, but he was best known for his role as Brian O’Conner in the Fast & Furious movies. Walker’s untimely death came shortly after Thanksgiving, and his loss is still felt by those who admired his work and of course, by those who knew him. FF co-star Vin Diesel still honors Walker with tributes and, in his most recent, he expressed his disbelief that it’s been 12 years since his co-star passed (and fans feel the same way).

Vin Diesel rarely passes up an opportunity to pay tribute to his Fast & Furious “family” on social media. On the 12th anniversary of Paul Walker’s death, Diesel took to Instagram to share a BTS photo and a tribute to “Pablo.” Diesel started his message with the words “twelve years,” signifying just how long he’s been without his good friend. From there, Diesel spoke about the ties that still bind his and Walker’s families together – like his own daughter being named Pauline and Walker’s daughter, Meadow, still being close to Diesel’s family.

The Riddick star then proceeded to discuss what his Thanksgiving dinner with his family was like this year. It was apparently during that meal that the A-lister had a bittersweet epiphany:

Paul Walker died at the age of 40 following a single-car crash, at which point he was the passenger in the vehicle. Various tributes poured in from fans and celebrities alike following Walker’s death, which coincided with production on Furious 7. As a result, director James Wan completed the film with the help of stand-in work from Walker’s brothers, Caleb and Cody. Even for me personally, it’s still hard to believe it’s been so long since Walker passed away, and fans who commented on Diesel’s post are in their feelings about that:

Although it’s been over a decade since the Takers star died, his legacy still lives on, and his FF co-stars, in particular, have kept his name alive. Just this past September, Vin Diesel, Jordana Brewster and Meadow Walker honored Paul on what would’ve been his 52nd birthday. Fans still honor the late star as well and, to that point, Diesel posted to IG in July 2024 after seeing a fan sport a tattoo featuring a quote from Paul. Additionally, the past few years have also seen Diesel tease Brian O’Conner’s inclusion in Fast 11.

Regardless of whether Paul Walker’s character is integrated into the final installment in the main FF franchise, I’m just glad to see Vin Diesel and co. are still paying homage to Walker in other ways. 12 years certainly is a long time to be without someone, and Diesel’s post-Thanksgiving message suggests the loss can still feel fresh. However, it also appears that despite everything, he’s choosing to feel “blessed” to have had Walker in his life. And that’s a true sign of family (which I’d like to believe Dominic Toretto would agree with).

On November 30, 2013, actor Paul Walker tragically died in a car crash, resulting in Furious 7’s production being halted for several months. On April 3, 2015, the seventh Fast & Furious movie was released in theaters, and moviegoers saw Walker’s likeness recreated through visual effects in order for his character, Brian O’Connor, to be retired from the franchise. But how was Furious 7 going to end prior to Walker’s death? We finally have that answer a decade later.

Author Barry Hertz’s new book Welcome to the Family, which explores the history of the Fast & Furious franchise, is out now. In addition to pulling the curtain back on Justin Lin’s exit from Fast X, the book also spends time specifically detailing how Furious 7 needed to be changed after Paul Walker’s death, As Hertz wrote (via ScreenRant):

I have to say, given the Fast & Furious crew’s outlaw roots, destroying God’s Eye definitely would have been character for them. However, that would have led to The Fate of the Furious and Fast X’s stories being significantly changed given the hacking device’s presence in those movies. In any case, Barry Hertz also mentions in Welcome to the Family that Furious 7’s original ending included the crew deciding their next destination “by throwing a knife at a nearby map, letting 'fate' decide.”

All that was scrapped to ensure that Furious 7 could be completed in the aftermath of this tragedy. So in addition to Dominic Toretto giving Mr. Nobody the God’s Eye, the movie’s final moments saw Dom and Brian bidding a silent farewell to each other, then driving off in separate directions. While Paul Walker is sadly no longer with us, Brian O’Connor is still alive in the Fast & Furious universe. We saw his car drive up at the end of F9, and apparently he’ll be recreated through visual effects again in Fast & Furious 11.

Paul Walker, beloved for playing Brian O’Conner in the Fast & Furious movies and three decades of work as an actor, sadly died in a car accident at the age of 40 back in 2013. But the mark he left on the world and those close to him will never be forgotten. So it’s no surprise that on his birthday he’s getting tributes in his honor left and right, particularly from his Fast family.

Walker’s birthday was on September 12, 1973, which means he would have been 52 today if he had lived. Check out what his daughter, Meadow Walker, said on his day:

Meadow Walker is 26 years old, and she posted the sweetest throwback photo of her and her father to celebrate. It’s a sweet picture of the pair that left Vin Diesel reacting with a “🙏🏽” emoji. Meadow is known for continuing her father's legacy by founding The Paul Walker Foundation in 2015, which offers grants to marine biology students since the Fast & Furious star was very passionate about conservation.

Diesel also shared a post of his own on Instagram that features a black and white photo of the pair of actors. He called Walker by his Fast & Furious name when wishing him a Happy Birthday before saying the following:

Vin Diesel went on to say how fans are “patiently waiting” for “family…to come home.” The tribute seems to be a tease for the next Fast & Furious movie’s reported inclusion of Brian O’Conner after Diesel teased Dom and Brian would be reuniting. Diesel also paid tribute to his “brother” by saying his legacy “lives in the space where love meets forever” and said his calling was helping create the franchise. He continued:

While the 10th anniversary of Paul Walker’s death passed in 2023, Brewster shared how fans can honor his memory by giving to The Paul Walker Foundation as it passes a decade by buying a T-shirt on the foundation’s website. The T-shirts were created by his daughter to honor “carrying Paul’s legacy.”

If it feels like it has been a minute since audiences last got to go on an adventure with the crew from the Fast & Furious movies, that's because it has. It has now been over two years since we last saw Dominic Toretto and his family go up against the insanity of Jason Momoa's Dante in Fast X, and fans have been waiting with bated breath for the conclusion to that movie's wild cliffhanger ending (not to mention the mid-credits tease featuring Dwayne Johnson).

The bad news now is that we're technically only about halfway through the waiting period – but the good news is that Vin Diesel has not lost any affection for the work and has provided a big update about the sequel.

Vin Diesel Shares Appreciation For His Fast & Furious Family With A Message Of Love

It's pretty wild that next year will mark the quarter-century anniversary of the Fast & Furious movies. Not only is it a rare thing for Hollywood franchises to continue that long consistently, but that's a hell of a lot of time to build relationships. It's far from a secret that Vin Diesel has a lot of love for his co-stars and collaborators in the making of the movies over that long stretch of time – and in case anyone forgot, he re-upped his love for those folks his weekend with a sweet Instagram post.

The actor publish a trio of photos – two stylized in black and white – on his personal social channel, and what they all share in common is him embracing his fellow actors on set (it's not clear from any of them when they were actually shot). Diesel seemingly didn't have any specific reason to post beyond a desire to express appreciation for his friends, and the post came with the following sweet caption:

Vin Diesel demonstrates a lot of love for his friends and colleagues – and it feels like something we can all take pointers from. In the chaos and randomness of life, it's always important to make sure that they people you care about know how much you care about them. None of us are here forever, and none of us know when our time will be up.

Diesel is all too aware of this reality, having experienced the shocking passing of his friend Paul Walker in the making of Furious 7 – and we learned this weekend that his love for his departed friend is having a direct impact on the development of Fast X: Part 2.

Vin Diesel Says That Paul Walker's Brian O'Conner Will Be Back In Fast X: Part 2

According to Entertainment Weekly, Vin Diesel made a surprise appearance at the Pomona, California event known as FuelFest this past weekend, and while addressing the crowd there, he directly commented on the development of the next installment of the Fast & Furious franchise.

The actor said that Universal Pictures is hoping to have Fast X: Part 2 in production next year in advance of a release in the spring of 2027, and in response to that request, he told executives that he has three conditions that need to be met with the production: they concern the setting, the story, and a challenging reunion:

Bringing the story of Fast X: Part 2 back to LA and having it be more car culture-centric don't sound like big challenges, but how will Dom and Brian get back together on screen? That's a significant mystery that doesn't have an answer.

In the canon of the Fast & Furious movies, Brian is still alive and has stepped away from the globe-trotting/terrorist-stopping actions of his good friends. Audiences last saw him in the final scene of Furious 7, which had Dom and Brian racing before parting ways. The moment was created with help from visual effects and the support of Paul Walker's brothers – who have said previously that they would like the opportunity to bring Brian back to the franchise again.

There is obviously a lot we presently don't know about Fast X: Part 2, including the fates of many of the main characters and how Dom and his son will be able to survive the vicious trap laid by Dante at the end of Fast X. We'll all get answers soon enough, though, and as more news about the project is revealed, you can be sure that you'll find more analysis here on CinemaBlend.

There may be no modern film franchise that has changed so much over the course of its story as Fast & Furious. A group of characters who started out as street racers stealing DVD players are now super secret agents. Every new film in the franchise takes things to a new, even more insane, level. But Jordana Brewster would love to see the franchise return to its roots.

Brewster, who appears in the new movie Heart Eyes alongside Final Destination star Devon Sawa, compared her feelings about the Fast & Furious franchise to his thoughts about the horror series when recently speaking with Collider. She indicated a wish that the next movie would be a bit grittier than the recent entires, and that she would get to do more in it. Brewster said…

I can certainly get behind this. The expectation is that the next movie, Fast and Furious 11 or Fast X Part II or whatever it ends up being called, will be the last. That is, at least inside the core franchise, as Fast & Furious spinoffs are reportedly still in development. If that’s the case, it makes poetic (and possibly thematic) sense to see the franchise come full circle and have the last movie feel more like the first.

And I can absolutely get behind Jordana Brewster’s Mia getting a chance to kick a bit more ass in the next movie. She’s always been a great character. Unfortunately, because Mia is married to Brian, the still-living character played by the late Paul Walker, the franchise has clearly had difficulty figuring out how to keep Mia on screen while justifying that Brian needs to remain off-screen. Brewster has been trying to get Mia to do more on screen for years.

And maybe Jordana Brewster’s wish could actually come true. Recent rumors, while far from confirmed, have suggested that Vin Diesel is having trouble rounding up the money needed to make the massive, expensive, blockbuster he’s trying to produce. If these rumors are in fact true, then the final Fast & Furious movie may need to be a smaller production due to financial constraints.

Having said that, a smaller version of Fast & Furious seems unlikely at this point. The story of traveling to exotic locations around the world is part of what fans now love about it, so setting the final movie just in L.A. might be a letdown for some. Fast & Furious 11 currently has an unspecified 2026 release date.

September 12 is Paul Walker’s birthday, and to honor her late father’s day, Meadow Walker posted a sweet throwback picture. While Paul Walker passed away in 2013, his daughter has made sure to celebrate him and his legacy every year, and this time it was extra sweet.

Paul would have been 51 this year, so to show a lot of love for his life and legacy, Meadow posted an adorable photo on Instagram of her and her dad when she was very young, take a look:

The caption is even sweeter than the cute throwback picture that seems to be from some sort of school-like event from Meadow’s childhood. Calling him her “forever guardian angel,” Paul’s daughter wished him a “happy birthday,” noted how much she misses him and thanked him “for everything.”

Along with this super sweet throwback, Meadow also honored her father by partnering with Universal to pay “tribute to [her] dad’s adventurous spirit and love for life.” In her Instagram post, she explained that they’re stilling T-shirts that feature a photo of Paul as Brian in a Fast and Furious film smiling as he got out of a car. The proceeds go to the Paul Walker Foundation scholarship, which is for young people who are “dedicated to ocean conservation and environmental protection.”

Overall, this celebration of what would have been Paul Walker’s 51st birthday can be added to the sweet history Meadow Walker has of celebrating her dad. She’s posted many throwbacks for both the anniversary of his death and his birthday, and she does a great job of keeping his legacy alive.

On top of her posts about her dad, Meadow also had a cameo in Fast X. She was a toddler when The Fast and The Furious came out in 2001. So, this was the perfect way to both pay homage to her loved one and stay connected to the franchise that he’s beloved for.

This day is also a family affair. On both Paul’s birthday and the anniversary of his death, the Fast and Furious cast usually pays tribute to him and the mark he left on the film franchise. For example, Vin Diesel pays tribute to his co-star frequently. Plus, Ludacris and Paul’s birthdays are one day a part, so there’s always a lot of F&F love in September, specifically.

Now, when you search this quote, it’s widely attributed to Paul Walker, and you can buy stickers, magnets and more with the words on it. However, the quote's origin is unclear, as it has been debated on Reddit, Quora and the comments of Diesel’s post.

However, it is a sentence that is widely associated with the Brian actor, and many have posted tribute videos about him using it. The Dom actor also seemed to be touched by the ramp agent’s tattoo, as his caption said:

While Paul Walker passed away over ten years ago, his legacy lives on strong in the Fast family. For example, we know that Fast X: Part 2 (or Fast and Furious 11), will take place in LA and come out 25 years after the first film – The Fast and the Furious. That alone hints at the notion that this upcoming F&F movie will pay homage to the franchise’s history, and it got even better when Diesel teased the return of Brian's iconic car. So, again, while the beloved actor is gone, he’s still ever-present because of the homages from his friends, family and fans.

Seeing this tattoo for the performer certainly made me happy, and it seemed to make Vin Diesel happy too. Now, I’m even more excited for Fast and Furious 11, and I can’t wait to see how they continue to honor the Walker, and how fans show their appreciation for him.

His star was burning bright as one of the most promising up-and-coming actors in Hollywood, having appeared in eight movies ((uncredited in five)) to that point. He starred in three huge hits at the end, including two, Rebel Without A Cause and Giant, that were released after his death. 

Jayne Mansfield

Jayne Mansfield was one of the biggest stars of the 1950s and 1960s, and one of the most notorious celebrities on the gossip pages as well. She was married three times and has five children, including Law & Order: SVU star Mariska Hargitay, something not everyone is aware of. Hargitay was only three when she, her mother, and her siblings were involved in the car accident that would take Mansfield's live in 1967.

Natalie Wood

One of the most notorious accidents (depending on what you believe) in Hollywood history caused the death of Natalie Wood. Wood was on a boat with her husband Robert Wagner and their friend Christopher Walken and either fell in or was pushed (again, depending on what you believe) and drowned. It's an enduring Hollywood mystery. 

Ricky Nelson

Ricky Nelson was most famous for his music career, producing a number of hits, first as a teen idol, and then later as a country singer. He first found fame as the son of Ozzie and Harriet Nelson, starring with his parents and brother on The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet in the 1950s and '60s. Nelson was killed on New Year's Eve, 1985 when the plane he was riding in caught fire, and toxic smoke filled the cabin before crashing near De Kalb, TX. 

Carole Lombard

One of the biggest stars in the Golden Age of Hollywood, Carole Lombard was one of the funniest actresses of her day. She was loved by millions and her popularity indirectly led to her tragic death. In 1942 Lombard was killed when the plane she was on while doing a War Bonds tour, helping raise money for the Second World War, crashed, killing all aboard. 

Heather O'Rourke

Nothing is more tragic than the death of a child. Heather O'Rourke's career and life were just getting started when she died at just 12 years old. O'Rourke stole the show in Poltergeist and without a doubt had a very bright future before she died suddenly due to complications of intestinal problems in 1988. 

Sharon Tate

On August 9th, 1969 Sharon Tate fell victim to the most infamous crimes in US history when she and the rest of the people in her house were brutally murdered by members of the Manson Family. Tate, who was pregnant at the time, was married to director Roman Polanski who was out of the country when the attack occurred. 

Anne Heche

Anne Heche's death in 2022 was shocking after she crashed her car into a house,  almost killing the occupant. It was assumed at the time that Heche was under the influence, but the coroner's report showed that she wasn't at the time of the crash, It remains a mystery as to what happened in those frantic moments before the fatal crash, which included Heche hitting two other cars before hitting the house. 

Dominique Dunne

The cast of Poltergeist has had a tough run. Not only did child star Heather O'Rouke die tragically at a young age, but the actress who played her older sister, Dominique Dunne, was killed by her ex-boyfriend in 1982 just months after the classic horror movie was released. It's been dubbed "The Poltergeist Curse."

Sonny Bono

Musician, actor, and congressman Sonny Bono was killed while skiing in Lake Tahoe. It was one of his favorite things to do, but sadly he struck a tree and died from the traumatic injuries. He was serving in Congress at the time of his death after a long career in music and television. 

Brittany Murphy

Brittany Murphy burst onto the Hollywood scene with her breakout role in Clueless. Like other child stars, she faced more than her fair share of difficulties in her personal life. Her life came to a tragic, and somewhat befuddling end when she died under mysterious circumstances in the apartment she shared with her husband in 2009 at age 32. Her husband died mysteriously in the same apartment just five months later. 

Desmond Llewelyn

For almost 40 years Desmond Llewelyn was beloved by James Bond fans for playing Q, the man who hooked up the super spy with all his ridiculous gadgets. Llewelyn was 85 years old when he was killed in a car wreck in 1999. It brought about the end of one of the coolest careers in cinema history. 

Bruce Lee

Chinese-American actor Bruce Lee defined what it meant to be a martial artist and actor. Even half a century after he died in 1973 he remains the archetype of the genre. He died at age 33 due to a cerebral edema, though more nefarious conspiracies are believed by some. No matter what happened, it was a tragic loss for all movie fans. 

Grace Kelly

Princess Grace, or Grace Kelly as she was known in Hollywood, literally lived a fairy tale life. Not only did she become one of the most famous actors in Hollywood, she eventually left that life when she married Prince Rainier of Monaco. It did not end in a fairy tale, sadly. Princess Grace was killed when she lost control of her car on a steep mountain road in the South of France after suffering a cerebral hemorrhage. Her daughter Stephanie survived the crash. 

Brandon Lee

There are plenty of conspiracy theories surrounding the "curse" of the Lee family. Two decades after Bruce Lee died unexpectedly at age 33, his son became the victim of an on-set death when a prop gun discharged a projectile at point-blank range, killing him while shooting The Crow in 1993. 

Phil Hartman

The tragic story of Phil Hartman's death is well known. Hartman was murdered in the early morning hours of May 28th, 1998 as he slept. His wife Brynn shot him three times, killing him, before later taking her own life. Even decades later, it's still shocking to remember and hard to come to grips with. 

Aaliyah

Singer Aaliyah was just starting her film career when her young life was cut short. After filming a music video in the Bahamas, Aaliyah and her entourage boarded a plane for Miami. The overloaded plane barely made it off the ground before crashing just off the runway, killing all aboard, including the Queen of the Damned star. 

Vic Morrow

One of the worst one-set tragedies happened on the set of Twilight Zone: The Movie when veteran actor Vic Morrow and two child actors were killed in a stunt gone wrong. Morrow was 53 years old when he was killed and the kids, Myca Dinh Le and Renee Shin-Yi Chen, were seven, and six, respectively. 

Anton Yelchin

Star Trek star Anton Yelchin was just 27 in 2016 when he was killed in one of the freakiest accidents ever. Yelchin was pinned between his own SUV and a pillar outside his home in LA when the SUV slipped into gear while Yelchin was checking on the gate. The truck rolled backward and wedged Yelchin in a spot he couldn't get out of, killing him. 

Sam Kinison

Naya Rivera

Glee star Naya Rivera's death was both tragic and historic. Though it's now fully understood what happened, we do know that Rivera was in a rented boat with her son on Lake Piru when something happened as they swam. She managed to hoist her 4-year-old son into the boat, but couldn't manage to herself in and she drowned at just age 33. 

Paul Walker

In a devastating example of life imitating art, hero, and star of the. Fast and Furious franchise, Paul Walker, was killed when the Porsche he was riding in crashed at a high rate of speed. Tributes for Walker poured in and the franchise's other str, Vin Diesel, often pays tribute to his fallen brother. 

Chance Perdomo

Chance Perdomo was having a career-making moment when his life was cut way too short. While on his way to film Season 2 of Gen V, he crashed on his motorcycle in upstate New York. He was killed by the accident and shortly after it was announced the part would not be recast in respect for Perdomo.

Adrienne Shelly

Adrienne Shelly has possibly become more famous in death than she was in life, with a musical based on the movie she wrote, directed, and starred in, Waitress running for 4 years on Broadway after her death. Shelly was murdered by a contractor in 2006 while she was in her office, a case filled with so much intrigue that Law & Order based an episode on it. 

Bob Crane

Hogan's Heroes star Bob Crane lived a wild private life. Publicly he was beloved for his lead role on the show, but behind closed doors, he lived a secret life making home movies of his intimate encounters with women. Lots of them. None of that was known until after Crane was found murdered in his rented apartment in Scottsdale, AZ. The case has never been resolved after his friend and fellow taper Bob Carpenter was acquitted of the murder after a trial. 

Ryan Dunn

"Live fast and die-hard" is an old adage that Ryan Dunn lived up to. The Jackass star was famous for his ridiculous stunts and wild lifestyle, blurring what was real and what was a persona. Sadly, it eventually killed him when he crashed his Porsche 911 after having too much to drink near his home in Pennsylvania. 

Audie Murphy

When actor and World War II veteran Audie Murphy died in a plane crash in 1971, he was one of the most famous men in the country. His star has faded and his far less well-known today, but the two-time Medal of Honor winner turned his military renown into Hollywood fame when he became an actor after the war. In addition to being one of the most decorated soldiers in US history, he starred in more than 40 films. 

Joan Rivers

Actress and comedienne Joan Rivers was a national treasure and even at age 81 she was showing little sign of slowing down. That made her death, caused by a botched surgery in 2014, all the more shocking. She died on the table, was revived, but died again a week later having never woken up from a medically-induced coma. Her death was marked by hundreds of celebrities and she is still very missed for her biting wit and hilarious jokes. 

Carl "Alfalfa" Switzer

Carl Switzer was one of the earliest child stars in the Golden Age of Hollywood, best known as Alfalfa in Our Gang. Like too many child stars who left Hollywood behind, his adult life was very difficult. Switzer eventually became a dog breeder and was murdered by a friend and client in a dispute over a dog Switzer was training went missing. 

Steve Allen

Hollywood legend Steve Allen's death is a cautionary tail. Allen was involved in what seemed like a minor car accident while he was backing out of his driveway on his way to see his son. After arriving safely at his son's house, Allen laid down for a nap and never got up. Injuries caused by the accident were to blame, injuries that were imperceptible, it seems, until they weren't. 

Sal Mineo

James Dean famously died before his two biggest films, Rebel Without A Cause, and Giant, were released. His co-star in both movies, Sal Mineo, also had his life cut tragically short when he was murdered in 1976. At just age 37, Mineo was stabbed to death in the driveway of his house by a mugger and never recovered from the injuries. 

Natasha Richardson

Natasha Richardson, who starred in The Parent Trap alongside Lindsey Lohan, was killed doing something she'd never done before - skiing. Richardson, who was married to Liam Neeson at the time of her death, fell while taking a lesson in Quebec and hit her head. She seemingly recovered from the fall, but later complained of headaches and was airlifted to a New York City hospital where she died due to an epidural hematoma, or bleeding on her brain.

Last November marked 10 years since Paul Walker tragically died in a car crash. He’s still missed by many, including his daughter Meadow, who posted a touching photo back in February of the two of them together when she was a little kid. Vin Diesel, who starred opposite Walker in the first seven Fast & Furious movies, also does his part keeping his late friend’s memory alive. The most recent example of this is that the car most associated Walker’s character Brian O’Connor will seemingly appear in the next installment, Fast 11, and fans are loving this nostalgia infusion.

What Vin Diesel Said About Paul Walker’s Car

In 2001’s The Fast and the Furious, Brian O’Connor drove around in an orange Toyota Supra that he found in a junkyard and fixed up with Dominic Toretto’s crew. More than two decades after that movie launched this popular franchise, Diesel shared on Instagram that this car will be back for Fast 11, teasing the following in a video showing off this cool ride on set:

At the end of The Fast and the Furious, Brian gave Dom the keys to the Toyota so they he could flee the authorities, as he owed him a ten-second car. Since the Toyota never appeared again, one could have assumed that Dom simply ditched it at some point. Quite the contrary, as evidently he stored the car for a rainy day, and 20+ years later, it looks like he’ll get it back on the road for Fast 11.

Although Paul Walker is no longer with us, Brian O’Connor is still alive in the Fast & Furious world, as most recently shown by his car driving up to the Toretto household at the end of F9. Regardless of how the Toyota gets put back into play, I’d like to think that Dom told Brian about it still being around long ago, rather than Brian having to learn it wasn’t turned back into scrap or ended up in someone else’s hands long after the events of Fast 11.

We’ll see what kind of craziness the orange Toyota Supra gets looped into, whether it’s Dom behind the wheel or someone else, when Fast 11 opens in theaters sometime in 2026. It was a sad day for the world when The Fast and the Furious actor Paul Walker died in a car accident. His daughter, Meadow, was only 15 years old when she lost her father and has continuously made sure to honor his memory. While the American model is all grown up now, the 25-year-old shared a touching throwback photo of her and her late father with an incredibly heartbreaking caption to go with it.

Paul Walker entertained audiences for seven Fast & Furious movies playing FBI agent-turned-criminal Brian O’Connor, as well as being the founder of the nonprofit charity Reach Out Worldwide. Another important job of Walker’s was being the proud father of his daughter, Meadow, who has found many opportunities to honor her late father’s memory. On her Instagram story, the 25-year-old model posted a throwback photo of her and her dad being all smiles when she was a little girl. Take a look at the touching photo below:

Meadow Walker shared two photos of her and her dad playing together at their house. In both photos, the She’s All That actor looks to be wearing boxers on his head trying to make his little girl laugh. The first photo has him lovingly brushing his daughter’s cheek, and the second photo has him laughing directly at the camera. But the one thing that caught my attention the most with Meadow's post was the heart-wrenching caption that said “Bring my best friend back.” Your heart breaks along with her as you resonate with her tragic message of missing someone you love so badly.

The only child of Paul Walker has made sure to keep the late actor alive through social media. On Easter in 2021, Meadow Walker shared a sweet throwback photo being in her father's arms as a little girl. She also tributed the Varsity Blues actor on what would have been his 48th birthday by posting a father-and-daughter photo of the two looking so adorable. 

Other than using social media to honor her father, Meadow Walker has used the Fast & Furious franchise to help keep Paul Walker's legacy alive. It first started with the young model being on set with her F9 family, and later led to having a cameo role in Fast X. It’s amazing that Meadow went from being only a year old when her father made his debut in the action franchise to playing a flight attendant helping Jakob get away from the Agency mid-flight. 

According to her Instagram post about the cameo honor, Meadow said she was in disbelief to be part of the world she was born into with the actors who worked alongside her father for years. I’m sure the Joy Ride actor would be very proud of his daughter for having such a kick-ass role in the franchise’s tenth installment.

Superman is not only an icon of comic books but also one of TV and cinema, as the beloved hero has appeared on the big and small screens numerous times over the years. Within the live-action realm, several actors have brought him to life, from George Reeves and Christopher Reeve to Henry Cavill and Tyler Hoechlin. There have been some interesting casting choices and, as it so happens, another notable star could’ve played the Man of Steel. Paul Walker was once presented with the opportunity to take on the role but ultimately turned it down. We also know why he apparently passed up millions of dollars to play the fan-favorite character. 

Paul Walker, who sadly died at 40 in a single-car crash in 2013, was one of the most notable stars in all of Hollywood. He arguably made a name for himself as a blockbuster veteran through his work on The Fast & Furious movies (which we’ve ranked). Still, a role in a high-profile superhero film property could’ve arguably boosted his status even further. In the documentary I Am Paul Walker, the late star’s manager, Matt Luber, said that he was the “frontrunner” for the role at one point and was allegedly offered a “a $10 million deal.” It’s unclear exactly when this opportunity came Walker’s way but his stunt double, Oakley Lehman, backed up (via People) the assertion that the role was in his purview: 

The sentiment mentioned above is definitely a concern that some stars have when deciding whether to commit to such a big role, especially when a deal could span years. With that, one can run the risk of being so heavily associated with a single role that they become somewhat stagnated. I’m not totally sure that the beloved actor – who had worked on seven FF movies by the time of his passing – would’ve had too much to worry about in that regard, though. Nevertheless, Matt Luber went on to say that is client conveyed during a phone call that he was feeling uncomfortable while wearing the iconic red and blue suit: 

It sounds like Paul Walker had a surreal experience while trying on the prolific costume. It’s interesting to think about what he could’ve brought to the role of Kal-El/Clark Kent. Walker certainly had the likability factor and possibly could’ve given a solid performance. I’d have also been curious to know who would’ve ended up directing him and starring alongside him. Alas, we’ll never know how he would’ve fared in one of the Superman movies, but it’s intriguing to think about. 

The Last Son of Krypton is set to return to the big screen next year, though, as David Corenswet is playing the titular role in the upcoming Superman: Legacy. The film, directed by James Gunn, will serve as the first of a slate of upcoming DC movies set in the DCU continuity. Corenswet seems excited to get started on what could be a long journey for him. While it might’ve been interesting to see Paul Walker ride down that same road, I give the actor a lot of credit for knowing what was best for him from a professional standpoint.

The sudden passing of Paul Walker sent shockwaves throughout the entertainment industry, with many mourning the beloved actor. He just opened up about how he handles the anniversary of the Fast & Furious star’s death while not holding back about his “hate” for that date. 

November 30 marked a decade since the Takers alum was killed at age 40 in a single-vehicle collision in Santa Clarita, California. It goes without saying that that day will forever be linked to the Walker family. In spite of that though, it sounds like Cody doesn’t remain fixated on it, at this point. The Last Full Measure actor discussed his late sibling during a chat with People. When discussing the dates associated with Paul, Cody explained that there’s really just one particular day of the year that he chooses to focus on: 

Many of us probably know what it’s like to experience a major loss in our lives, and it can be difficult to find any kind of bright spot within tragedy. However, it would appear that the She’s All That alum’s brood uses his birthday as a way to connect with one another, which is sweet. (Paul’s daughter, Meadow, actually celebrated her dad’s b-day with a sweet social media post this year.) Cody Walker further emphasized his intention to focus on his the date of his brother’s birth as opposed to the day that he departed this life: 

Ultimately, we all choose to grieve and remember our loved ones in ways that are most comfortable for us. The young Walker sibling and his relatives, thankfully, haven’t had to do that alone, either. Cody also discussed how his brother’s Fast & Furious co-stars showed up for their family after the fatal car accident. They apparently left the set of Furious 7 and quickly made their way to the home of Paul’s mother. That’s very moving, and one gets the impression that the family really appreciated it. 

It’s bittersweet to think that the main series of Fast & Furious movies (which can be streamed) is seemingly headed for its conclusion without Paul Walker. Vin Diesel and the cast have discussed the end, and the Dominic Toretto portrayer seems bent on crafting a sweet send-off. In doing this final flick, he’s also fulfilling a “promise” he made to Walker years ago, which was that he would cap off the series at a specific desired number. 

There are still plenty of details we don’t know about FF 11, as there are plenty of possibilities. Hopefully though, it manages to serve as a fitting tribute to one of the franchise’s key stars and is respectful of the Walker family, who have been supportive of the series. All the while, let’s wish nothing but peace for Cody and his relatives as they continue to honor the legacy of his late brother.

The Fast & Furious franchise continues to roar right along its cinematic road and, as it does so, a number of fans still miss Paul Walker, the beloved former lead of the series. Though O’Conner was not killed off, he’s remained unseen (but mentioned) in more recent installments. The Walker family has apparently been very supportive of the franchise since Paul’s death. Franchise alum Tyrese Gibson explained that the brood gave their “blessing” before the cast and crew continued work on F7, and they were also at the premiere. Paul’s daughter, Meadow Walker, has also lent her support and even cameoed in Fast X.

At present, the Fast & Furious series is racing towards its final installment, which is set to arrive in 2025. Vin Diesel and the cast have discussed the conclusion, and they mostly seem ready to reach the end of the road. This all seems to be somewhat bittersweet for Diesel, as he’ll be reaching the finish line without his late co-star. Nevertheless, he seems primed to end the story and in the process, fulfill a “promise” he made to his deceased collaborator years ago.

We don’t know much about FF 11 at this point, but one would imagine that it will somehow honor Paul Walker and his contributions to the series. As time goes on, it’s likely that the cast and crew will remain tight with the Walkers. It’s certainly tragic that Paul is no longer with us, but I’d like to think that he’d be delighted to know that his relatives and co-stars are still close.

Meadow Walker Honored Her Father Paul Walker For His Birthday 

The day after Ludacris’ birthday is Paul Walker’s big day, and this year would have marked his 50th birthday. To honor her late father, and the beloved franchise he helped pioneer, Meadow Walker took to Instagram to post about the actor behind Brian. 

Meadow was only 1 year old when The Fast and The Furious was released, however, she’s always been clear about the love she has for the franchise and her father’s role in it. She even had a little cameo in Fast X that was a sweet nod to her dad. 

Late last year, on the anniversary of his death Diesel shared a sweet tribute for his on-screen partner in crime. The Dom actor and Ludacris had a sweet exchange on Meadow’s birthday last year too. Also, Paul Walker’s and Brian’s legacy is still felt in the Fast and Furious movies. So, the actor is still very much a big part of the family. 

Along with Meadow’s sweet post of her and her dad when she was a baby, she shared her favorite image of him from the Fast franchise on social media. With it came an announcement that to celebrate his 50th birthday they’d be selling T-shirts to raise money for the Paul Walker Foundation. Showing her love for her co-star and on-screen partner, Jordana Brewster also posted about the fundraiser. 

So, overall, there’s a lot of love and a whole lot of good going out into the world as we celebrate Ludacris and Paul Walker.

It’s been almost a decade since Paul Walker tragically lost his life in a car crash at the age of 40. With the main Fast & Furious franchise edging toward its swan song, James Wan called the seventh installment the “hardest” of his decades-long career as he reflected on the sequel being his first big-budget film. In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the filmmaker explained,

Coming from the low-budget horror world to a big-budget action racing franchise would be a shock for any director. Luckily, James Wan was down for the intense outrageousness of the Fast & Furious series. Pitching one of the film’s more memorable sequences proved he was ready for action stunts. His hard work and dedication to Furious 7 worked out well, as the film grossed over $1.5 billion worldwide. 

While the seventh film was a runaway hit, James Wan went into more detail about why the movie was hard to finish. He opened about the hardships the production faced in the wake of Walker’s absence. The acclaimed director dug into the cast and crew’s initial thoughts about carrying on after losing one of the franchise’s most integral leading stars, saying,

As James Wan points out, AI technology wasn’t on the level of where it's at today when Furious 7 was shooting. He and the crew had to use movie magic and trickery to finish Walker’s scenes. Thankfully, his past dialogue and younger brothers were able to fill in for the late actor. Using the tech of the time allowed the cast and crew to give Paul Walker and Brian O’Conner a proper send-off.

Unfortunately, that was Wan’s only entry into the intense racing franchise, though he has since helmed other big-budget action films, including Aquaman and its upcoming sequel, Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom.

The Fast & Furious franchise has continued to honor Paul Walker memory by keeping his character alive in the fast-paced world, albeit away from all the action. Fast X took the family motto even further by including a cameo from Paul Walker’s daughter Meadow. The tenth film has continued to do well at the box office despite dipping in its second weekend.

In the accompanying post, she talks about how the Fast & Furious franchise has been part of literally her entire life, as she was a year old when the first film came out. Now she’s part of the franchise herself, and fans know exactly where to look for her. Check it out.

We can tell a few things about what’s going on in the movie from this single image. Meadow’s character is on board an airplane, and she will get at least one shot where she is actually the focus, so fans won’t need to be checking the background of every scene in order to find her. Beyond that, she’s looking behind her at something we can’t see, and from the look on her face, whatever it is she’s at least a little concerned about it. Based on what she’s wearing she may be playing a flight attendant, though that can’t be confirmed.

The trailer for Fast X doesn’t show us any scenes inside an airliner, it’s much more concerned with the traditional automobile-based action, so we don’t have a lot more context of what is going on in this scene or how Meadow’s character will fit into things. It is a cameo, so whatever is happening here, while it might be important in the film, likely won't take up much of the runtime. 

The idea of seeing Meadow Walker in one of the final two Fast & Furious movies has been around for a while, and it certainly felt like something the movies might do as a way of honoring the late Paul Walker, so it was little surprise when we learned it was happening. Meadow is clearly happy to have been part of this movie and shared the franchise with her father.

Fast X won’t be quite the end of course. There will be one more movie after this one that is expected to be the end of the road for the main franchise. However, the possibility for future Fast & Furious spinoffs still exists. And depending on just how this unknown flight attendant fits into Fast X, maybe it won’t be quite the end for her either. Does anybody know if she can drive a car?

Of all the Fast and Furious movies, Furious 7 is the one I’d heard the most about. I was made aware of the movie mostly because of Paul Walker’s tragic death and the moving song “See You Again,” however, I had absolutely no idea what the movie was about. I quickly realized that this movie was not going to dwell on the tragedy of Walker’s death, but rather use it as a vehicle to honor his legacy. So, while I have my qualms about this movie, and I wouldn’t put it at the top of my Fast and Furious ranking, overall I really enjoyed it, and I thought it was a moving tribute to the actor behind Brian. 

The Way They Handled Paul Walker’s Death Was Perfect

I went into this movie not knowing how they were going to handle Paul Walker’s unexpected death. I knew his cause of death in real life was a car crash, and I genuinely didn’t know how they could address what happened to him in a meaningful way. However, they did handle it perfectly, and I was sincerely touched by their choice to have Brian retire from the life of action, and move on with his family. 

By slightly changing the ending of Furious 7 and adding that touching last ride sequence between Brian and Dom, Paul Walker’s final on-screen moments were incredibly touching. Also, by having Walker’s brother stand in for him, using unused footage of Paul Walker, adjusting the lighting, and replacing Caleb Walker’s head with Paul’s, according to THR, it was hard to tell that it wasn’t the original Brian actor performing.

Overall, they did a beautiful job of wrapping up Brian’s story and using digital technology to make it feel like Paul Walker was still with us for one last ride.

They Kept Talking About Flying Cars, Technically A Car Never Flew, And I’m Mad About It

One of the mantras of this movie seemed to be “Cars can’t fly.” Brian said the line at least three times, and there were multiple moments where cars were yeeted, for lack of a better term, off high places. However, while there were a ton of cars falling from great heights, they never actually flew, and I’m a little peeved about it. 

This idea that cars can’t fly felt like a Chekhov's gun in a way. Eventually, I thought it was going to pay off, and a car was really going to fly. I guess in a way they did make it happen, sort of, with the parachutes, but that was mostly cars falling not flying. I guess what I’m trying to say is in the world of Fast and Furious where anything is possible and physics doesn't really matter why not let cars fly?  

The Parachute Car Sequence Was Both Hilarious And Super Cool

They may not have really made cars fly, but they got very close by actually dropping real cars out of a plane for the parachute sequence. Learning about this scene now, it’s become even cooler because they really did drop cars out of a cargo plane, as Screen Rant reported. The article explained that the cars were dropped from 12,000 ft. with skydivers and a helicopter flying with the falling cars. However, what really made the sequence was how funny it was. 

Seeing Roman properly freak out, and refuse to back out of the plane was one of the funniest moments in the franchise. Between his recognition of the utter ridiculousness of the scene, and the practical work that went into the sequence it ended up being the ultimate Fast and Furious moment. 

What Good Does Crashing Into Each Other Do: My Problem With The Alpha Rivalry Between Dom And Shaw

Let’s all get honest with ourselves for a moment and recognize that these movies are hyper-masculine. Now, I really don’t take issue with this fact, I knew what I was getting into when I decided to watch this franchise. However, sometimes that alpha male energy is a bit much for me, and most of the time it’s unnecessary to the plot. 

I have absolutely no idea why both Shaw and Dom thought it’d be smart to crash into each other. It destroys their cars, and does not help either party. Both times Dom and Shaw faced off in this movie they crashed into each other because both men are so determined to be the alpha. This resulted in a game of chicken that they both lost. If they just would put their egos aside, and take a second to think about their actions and the consequences of ramming into each other, maybe they would have been more successful in trying to take each other down. 

Paul Walker In Dad Mode Was 100% My Favorite Part Of This Movie 

I think my favorite scene in this whole entire movie was Brian dropping his son Jack off at preschool. That scene of him revving up the minivan, and making the audience think he’s on some dangerous adventure was hilarious, and then seeing the reveal that he’s in a minivan was iconic behavior. 

On a more serious note, these fatherly moments also helped make the ending as perfect as it was. Knowing Brian is about to become a father of two with Mia, and being able to see how much he loves Jack at the beginning made the moment at the end where he leaves the life of racing behind all the more meaningful.  

Vin Diesel Was Out Here Lifting Cars And Jumping Around Like A Super Soldier

So, remember how we talked about these movies not really considering physics or what’s physically possible earlier? Well, this scene was the ultimate proof of this point. There is absolutely no way Dom would have been able to lift that car like he actually has the strength of Groot. 

Admittedly, I have a lot of fun with these humanly impossible elements of these movies, so seeing Vin Diesel lift a car was quite amusing. However, if they’re going to do stuff like this it needs to be a full send, and everything should be unrealistic because, in the F&F world, anything is possible. Basically, what I’m saying is if Dom can lift a car, they could have made cars fly.

• I’m just supposed to believe Sean is still in high school???
• T-Pain was in the movie! Good for T-Pain. 
• The Rock flexed his massive arm cast off, because of course he would. 
• I’m sorry, but when did Letty and Dom get married? 

I feel like watching Furious 7 was a major moment on the Fast and Furious timeline. When Paul Walker passed away it was major news that shook everyone up, and I remember how much people loved the song “See You Again,” and this movie. While I may have my qualms with this film, overall it’s a moving tribute to Paul Walker and a solid entry into the Fast and Furious franchise. Now, I’m excited to see how this movie impacts the saga moving forward, and how the OG F&F star's legacy will impact Fast X when it premieres on the 2023 movie schedule.

The Fast and Furious franchise has been one of the most popular and enduring action movie series in recent memory, and it all began with the iconic pairing of Vin Diesel’s Dominic Toretto and Paul Walker’s Brian O’Conner. The first flick seems quaint compared to where the franchise is now, but it all started with the release of the 2001’s street racing movie, which had a pretty obvious take on the Point Break formula, albeit trading in surfboards for high-performance street racing cars. What followed was a series of movies, each bigger than the last, and a franchise that has become a box-office juggernaut. Sadly, the series lost one of its pioneers when Paul Walker passed away tragically in a car accident in 2013 before the filming of Furious 7 was completed, leaving the series and its fans with a massive hole in their hearts. Through computer magic and the help of Walker’s brothers, the filmmakers completed the movie, and audiences were treated to one of the most beautifully meta movie moments, Brian driving off into the sunset, happily ever after. However, according to one cast member, we probably haven’t seen the last of Brian. That’s right, Vin Diesel teased the franchise saying goodbye to Paul walker and Brian one last time. 

In a recent interview with Total Film, Vin Diesel, who also serves as a producer on the franchise, teased the upcoming addition to the main story series of movies, Fast X, and hinted at the franchise’s bigger plans for saying goodbye to the character of Brian O’Conner. 

Diesel’s comments will surely excite some fans of the franchise, but they may also leave some who appreciated Brian’s happy ending scratching their heads. The Fast and Furious movies have always been known for their over-the-top action and high-octane thrills, but they’ve also had a deep emotional core that has resonated with audiences around the world, and it worries me to think how bringing Brian back for one last ride could cheapen the emotional catharsis of his goodbye moment in Furious 7. 

The death of Paul Walker was a tragic blow to both the franchise and its fans, but the filmmakers have done an admirable job of honoring his memory and continuing his character’s legacy. Since Walker’s untimely death, the franchise has been forced to evolve and expand, introducing new characters and storylines while staying true to its roots. Fast 9, which was released in 2021 after a pandemic-related delay, was a huge success both commercially and mostly critically (see what we thought) and set the stage for the tenth high-octane flick. Diesel promises the upcoming movie will please longtime series fans because he’s been listening and knows what they want. He continued:

While Diesel didn’t reveal any specific details about how the franchise will say goodbye to Brian O’Conner, his comments suggest that it will be a fitting tribute to the character and the actor who brought him to life. The Fast and Furious movies have always been about family, and saying goodbye to one of their own will no doubt be an emotional and poignant moment for fans of the series.

I feel like the Fast and Furious movies found their footing with Fast Five, and with Fast and Furious 6, they were able to use that newfound knowledge and make a movie that tied the universe together and sent the audience on a very fun ride. While most Fast and Furious rankings would put the fifth and seventh installments on the top, I’d make the argument that the sixth movie is the best one so far (the jury is still out on seven). Overall, I really, really enjoyed watching the ensemble shine in this wicked fun and action-packed movie. 

I Loved All The Unexpected Duos In Fast And Furious 6 

Arguably the best thing about Fast and Furious 6 is the ensemble cast. We got to see a bit of the crew's eclectic chemistry in Fast Five, but in this movie they actually capitalized on the talent of the supporting cast, and paired them up in unexpected ways, making for a super fun movie. 

My first favorite unexpected duo was Han and Rome, who were supporting Giselle as they tried to find Shaw, and in the other, we had Hobbs and Tej trying to buy cars in London. Both duos were hilarious, chaotic and provided levity for the film, while also advancing the plot. I never thought I’d say Ludacris and The Rock have great chemistry, but they do, and their scene dealing with an uppity car dealer was easily one of my favorite moments in the movie. The same goes for the scene between Han and Rome; talk about a chaotic duo. 

Overall, I’m just glad the writers finally decided to let these actors shine, and pair them in ways that were unexpected and hilarious. 

Michelle Rodriguez Was The Best Part Of This Movie

Following the death of Letty, and the news that she was alive, which surprised Michelle Rodriguez and me, I was a bit concerned about how they’d work her back into the story. So, I was pleasantly surprised when they not only brought her back but gave her the most interesting storyline in Fast and Furious 6. Hands down, the best part of this movie was Rodriguez’s performance as she re-discovered that she was part of the family and slowly turned from a bad guy back into a good one. 

It was also so refreshing to see a woman as one of the leads of the movie, and she was on an equal playing field with Vin Diesel and Paul Walker. She got to be just as in the action as both of them, and she had the most interesting story out of everyone. Overall, I’m so happy they brought Letty back, and they proved to all of us once again that Michelle Rodriguez is a powerhouse. 

They Finally Gave Ludacris The Screen Time He Deserves

Tej has been one of my favorite characters since he was introduced in 2 Fast 2 Furious, and ever since I’ve felt like they’ve never really given Ludacris his time to shine. However, as the last point stated, one of my favorite things about this movie is the unexpected duos and the amped-up screen time for all the beloved side characters, including Tej. 

I’ve always thought that he was one of the most interesting characters in the franchise. He’s not the biggest fan of driving, all he wants is to open a garage and he’s the crew’s tech guy in five and six. Ludacris’ character is unlike any of the others, and it seems like the rapper/actor really, really enjoys playing him. I mean the spit-take at the end of six is enough to make him one of the best cast members of the movie, but he really shined through the entire action-packed adventure. 

We Need To Talk About The Elephant – Or Tank, In This Case – In The Room 

To quote Rome: “I’m sorry, did somebody just say a tank?” Oh yes, they did say tank, and that was not a CGI tank either, it was a real one. While this scene is wild to watch the first time, when you learn how they did it, it becomes even crazier. Dennis McCarthy, the car coordinator on the film, told New York Daily News that they had two tanks and mock-ups on set. He said they had ten Dodge Chargers on set that day, to play the two shown in the movie, and explained that many of the crashes we saw really happened. McCarthy said: 

I agree; the times I’ve been able to notice the CGI in these movies I’m always a bit disappointed. However, in Fast and Furious 6 that was not the case, I was impressed the whole time, especially when it comes to this crazy tank scene. 

I Appreciated How They Tied In The Events From Past Films

The writers for movies two through five must have been in a silly-goofy mood when they told their stories, and because of it Fast and Furious 6 had to do a lot of course correcting when it came to the Fast and Furious timeline and various plot lines, and I greatly appreciated it. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still extremely convoluted, but they were trying to fix things in this movie, and that’s what really matters. It’s the thought that counts.

There were two major points where I noticed, and liked, how they tied six in with past events. The first came when they brought Braga back, tying the events of Fast and Furious and Letty’s death directly to Fast and Furious 6, as well as the entire timeline. By making Brian face Braga in jail, we learned how the events of the fourth movie played into the greater Fast universe, and it made it clear that we were watching one (relatively) cohesive story.

The second connection came at the very end of the movie. Our boy Han is the biggest reason for the wacky timeline, and following the death of Gisele, he decides to head to Japan, implying that the events of Tokyo Drift are finally going to come into play.

So…Jason Statham Is The Reason Han Dies In Tokyo Drift?

I’ve been wondering how Jason Statham was going to make his entrance into the Fast franchise, and the way he was introduced was extremely unexpected. Early on in the movie, when Shaw (Luke Evans) was introduced, I figured he was related to Statham’s Shaw. I’m aware of the Hobbs and Shaw movie, and I’ve seen enough of the trailers to know that the older Shaw we were introduced to at the end of this movie will eventually become part of the family. 

Due to this ever-so-slight knowledge of what comes next, the last thing I was expecting was Jason Statham’s involvement in Fast and Furious 6 to be related to Han's death. Since the end of Tokyo Drift, I’ve been wondering who was behind the mysterious death of this fan-favorite character, and I’m very curious to see how Shaw’s involvement in the “death” (I know he’s not really dead…I think) of Han impacts the events of Furious 7.  

Other Thoughts 

• Why was Rita Ora there? 
• The movie should have been named Fast and Furi6. 
• It’s a real bummer that they describe things as “fast” all the time, but never as “fast and furious.” 
• Luke Evans’ character was scary and gross. 
• Who gave Dom and Hobbs superhuman jumping abilities? 

Overall, I feel like Fast and Furious 6 was the first movie where it really felt like everyone making the movie knew exactly what they were doing, and wanted to tell a story that allowed the franchise to be one big cohesive thing. So, with Fast X furiously approaching on the 2023 movie schedule, I’m fascinated to see how the franchise grows, and how this giant story continues to develop.

I’ve determined that all the things the Fast and Furious movies are best known for stem from Fast Five. I’m talking about global adventures, family monologues, out-of-this-world stunts and an incredibly famous ensemble cast. I finally feel like I’ve hit the point in the series where things really start to ramp up, and the saga becomes what we know it for today. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint, I get why this movie is ranked No. 1 in our ranking of the Fast and Furious movies. So, with that said, let’s get into all the thoughts I had while watching the fan fave that is Fast Five. 

This Is A Heist Movie, And That’s Why I Loved It So Much

While the first four movies are about racing, Fast Five is first and foremost a heist movie, and cars are used as a means to pull off said heist. It’s worth noting that my favorite genre of film is heists. Ocean’s Eleven is one of my favorite movies, and seeing an epic ensemble assemble to pull off a clever, action-packed and mind-bending plan brings me immense joy. 

Seeing a crew that included Mia, Vince and Dom from The Fast and the Furious, Roman and Tej from 2 Fast 2 Furious, Han from Tokyo Drift (because our F&F timeline is still ultra convoluted) and Gisele from Fast and Furious 4 was epic. By putting them together we got an ensemble that was perfect for a heist movie where they worked to pull off an impossible plan that involved safe stealing, train heisting, car chases, roof chases, and some great banter.

Can We Take A Minute To Talk About That Wild Train Heist?

As mentioned above I love a heist, and if you’ve read my thoughts on The Fast and the Furious as well as my opinions on 2 Fast 2 Furious, you’ll know that I love a big campy stunt. The train heist was both those things, and I was living for it! Not only was it an epic sequence that featured the crew stealing cars off a train via a truck that looked like it should have been in Mad Max, but it also had epic fights and a grand finale that included Brian and Dom jumping their car off a cliff, talk about epic. 

On top of that, a crucial part of the scene was apparently done by accident, which makes this even better. It turns out, the car wasn’t supposed to crash into the train in the movie, as Brian Volk-Weiss, the director of Icons Unearthed: Fast & Furious told ScreenRant. However, rather than spending more money to fix it, they moved the fight inside the train and made the car part of the sequence. Considering these movies are all about cars doing wild things, I love that this snafu added an even cooler element to an already rad action sequence. 

The Rock Has Entered The Chat And He Has The Best One-Liners

We can’t talk about a movie that Dwayne Johnson is in, and not bring him up. This was The Rock’s introduction to the Fast franchise, and he came into the Fast Five cast swinging as Hobbs, the agent who was determined to catch our favorite crew, and he was armed with guns and one-liners. 

When we meet Hobbs he’s walking off a plane telling his crew to get ready. However, he doesn't just say, “let’s go” or “are you ready,” oh no, he says: 

He also has another legendary one-liner where instead of simply asking for the information he says: 

Considering The Rock is your ultimate cool guy, hearing him say lines like this was quite funny, and one of my favorite elements of Fast Five. With that said, I really hope Hobbs keeps up the fun dialogue in the movies to come. 

Mia Announced She Was Pregnant At Maybe The Worst Possible Time 

We learn early on in Fast Five that Mia is pregnant, Brian is the father. Then she decided to break the news to her beau and her brother right after they all almost died during a roof chase. My first thought was not about how happy I was, it was more like: MIA THIS IS LITERALLY THE WORST TIME TO BREAK THIS LIFE ALTERING NEWS!*

She was standing with Brian and Dom in a sewer-type thing and her brother insisted they split up. Mia did not want to do that, so her solution was to break the news that she was pregnant. If I were Brian or Dom and I learned that news then I think I would have freaked out. Luckily, the boys were thrilled about the news, and while I didn’t like this moment, it was the reason we got Vin Diesel saying:

So, I can’t hate on this scene too much, because it’s what got Dom on this family kick that is quite endearing. 

*Also, I’d like to clarify that I’m thrilled for Brian and Mia, I just think she should have waited a bit to share the news. 

However, It’s What Led Us To The Epic Family Speech From Vin Diesel 

We’ve seen the classic family barbeque with the Coronas, and we’ve heard the talk about the importance of your crew, but we haven’t gotten a full-blown family monologue from Vin Diesel until Fast Five, and it was glorious. After Vince asks Dom if he can come back, and the crew makes it back from a dangerous mission, Vin rallies and troops and says this: 

Is it all that poetic, no, but is it hella heartfelt and said with love, yes, and that’s all that matters. Hopefully, this means there are more family monologues to come, and they all also involve the whole crew, a cold Corona or two, and Vin Diesel explaining the importance of family. 

How Did Nobody Get Injured In This Movie?

Tell me, how on Earth did none of the characters break an arm, get a concussion or, you know, die? Injury-inducing moments in this movie, include but are not limited to: Dom and Brian driving a car off a cliff, Brian falling through a roof, and Dom stopping, dropping and rolling out of his car moving at a high speed while a safe whips around the highway. It just feels impossible that they all made it out of this unscathed, yet somehow they were all in tip-top shape by the end of the movie. 

I know these movies aren't supposed to follow the laws of physics or be grounded in reality. However, there were one too many injury-prone moments in this action-packed film that I couldn't help but think that at least one person should have been wearing a sling at bare minimum. 

Other Thoughts 

• Gal Gadot and Han is not a pairing I expected. 
• Give Ludacris more screen time! 
• After those end credits, is Letty a super soldier type of person now? I gotta say, I was just as surprised as Michelle Rodriguez was to see Letty alive. 
• Getting the safe by putting it in the garage truck was genius. 
• Dom letting Brian win a race was so cute. 

I feel like we’ve reached a major milestone in this journey. I’ve been told Fast Five is one of the best in the franchise, and where the game changes, and I totally see why. 

As we race closer to Fast X’s release on the 2023 movie schedule, I can’t wait to see how the saga evolves, and how the events of Fast Five play into the big bad’s story in the tenth installment. Finally! The moment I’ve been waiting for has come. It’s been two movies and a whole lot of waiting, and now Vin Diesel and co. have officially returned in the concisely named Fast & Furious. Admittedly we hit a rough patch on our journey through the Fast and Furious movies with the second the third installments, however, now we’re back on track, as this movie sets up the future of the franchise everyone seems to know and love. It’s worth noting this film is by no means the best, just look where it sits in our Fast and Furious ranking, however, it lays the groundwork for what’s ahead, and helped me understand the journey ahead. 

So, with that being said, let’s jump into my thoughts about Fast & Furious.

I Love That The Movie Started With The OG Crew Robbing Semi Trucks

As bluntly stated in my thoughts about 2 Fast 2 Furious and my feelings about Tokyo Drift: not having the OG crew in the movies made me sad, and a tad frustrated. So, when Vin Diesel showed up in the third movie, and then Fast & Furious started with Dom, Letty and Han robbing a semi, I was amped. 

I’ve been waiting weeks for this moment, and everyone who watched the movies in real time waited nearly ten years for this, and the payoff was great. Seeing Michelle Rodriguez navigate the truck and then jump onto Diesel’s car, and then have the chase end in a fiery explosion was iconic, if I do say so myself. While the movie as a whole may not be the best, this scene where the crew robs a semi was epic, and really set the tone for what followed. 

I Get The Convoluted Fast Timeline Now, Thanks To Han

So, as we learned in Tokyo Drift, Han is dead. This means in Fast & Furious he’s either back from the dead, or the movie takes place before the events of Sean’s adventure in Japan. As our handy dandy Fast and Furious timeline explains, the events of the fourth movie take place prior to the third movie, and therefore the convoluted chronology of the Fast franchise has begun. 

I’ll be honest, I don’t fully get why they did this, but I guess the love for Han is real. Turns out, he was such a fan-favorite the movie’s director Justin Lin decided to bring him back and deal with the chronology issues later, as he explained to EW:

With this one decision to bring back Sung Kang, the Fast franchise took a wild turn, and I can’t wait to see how this timeline works itself out (and messes itself up more) over the course of the next few films.

Gal Gadot Should Have Been Braga

The most exciting addition to the Fast franchise by way of the fourth movie was 100% Gal Gadot. When this movie came out, she was an unknown actress, and Fast & Furious was her only major credit on IMDb. Watching the movie you can feel her power, and she steals every scene she’s in, in my opinion. So, with that being said I think she should have been more than just Gisele, she should have been the big bad Braga.

Along with Gadot’s standout performance, I thought the Braga reveal was a little anti-climactic. So, to make the actress the antagonist would have been epic. Not only would it have been an unexpected and really cool creative choice, it also would have put a woman at the forefront of the franchise, and I would have loved to see that. 

To see Gadot in a bigger role and playing the bad woman would have been iconic. So, with that said – obviously, hindsight is 20/20 and I know Gadot plays a bigger role in the future – I think it was a missed opportunity to not make the stellar actress the movie’s big bad.

Letty Being A Secret Agent… I Didn’t See That Coming

First of all, I was very shocked when Letty died, even though I know Michelle Rodriguez eventually comes back to the Fast movies, and I was extra surprised when I found out she died while working for the FBI. Much like when I found out Brian was an undercover agent, learning the real reason why Letty died was shocking, sad and surprisingly emotional. 

I was heartbroken for her when Dom left her, and to know that she was working to get Braga so he could come home made it all the more tragic. I’m not sure why these undercover agent plot twists keep getting me, but I’ve been shocked every time it’s happened, and I presume that if it happens again with another character, I’ll still be surprised. 

This Movie Was More Violent And Less Action Packed

My biggest issue with this movie was how violent it was, and the lack of big spectacles. While we had the massive stunt at the beginning, the final battle was nothing like what we’re used to. Rather than racing past a train, jumping onto a yacht or drifting down a long windy road, the final moments of this movie relied on a CGI tunnel race and the big action comes when Fenix gets hit by Dom’s car. Frankly, I barely remember how the movie ended action-wise, I had to look it up again, because of the lack of action-packed spectacles and the emphasis on violent choices. 

There were a lot of moments in this movie where there was just violence for violence's sake. From Dom holding a guy outside the window by his leg, to the multiple injury-inducing physical altercations throughout the film, there was a bit too much meaningless violence for my taste and not enough action-packed stunts. 

Dom And Brian Being BFFLs Is What’s Keeping Me In This

If you’ve read the previous installments in this series, specifically my thoughts on The Fast and the Furious, you’ll know my favorite aspect of these films are the friendships, especially the bromance between Brian and Dom in the first movie. So, to see Vin Diesel and Paul Walker back on screen together was heartwarming, exciting and I loved every second of it. 

The best part about the Brian/Dom bromance is their banter, the two act like frenemies (which they are in the majority of the first movie, and part of this one) but in reality, they love each other and are, say it with me, “family.” Two of my favorite moments that exemplify the boys’ bromance were when they fixed Letty’s car together, and the final scene when Brian is injured and he and Dom debate over who would have won a race that happened earlier in the movie. Classic bestie moments.

Now that the two dudes are 100% BFFLs following the events of Fast & Furious, I can’t wait to see them take on whatever lies ahead in Fast 5.

With our fourth journey on the books, and Fast 5 furiously approaching, I think it’s clear that we’ve now entered the era of this franchise that everyone knows and loves, and I’m so happy to be here. Watching Fast & Furious may not have been my favorite experience, but it helped me understand the universe and the ever-evolving story that will culminate with the release of the highly anticipated Fast X on the 2023 movie schedule. 

The Fast and Furious franchise has come a long way from its humble street racing beginnings and based on the trailer for Fast X, the bar is continuing to be raised. However, since Furious 7 there has been something of a cloud hanging over the franchise. Since the death of Paul Walker, there has been something missing on the big screen and it has been clearly difficult for the other stars to move on, but that has apparently been helped by having Walker’s recently married daughter Meadow appearing in the new film.

While details are unknown it appears that Meadow Walker will appear in the soon-to-be-released Fast X in an as-yet-unknown capacity. Michelle Rodriguez tells Extra that Meadow being on set is a “blessing” and says that she appreciates the support that Walker’s family has provided because it would be difficult to move on without it. Rodriguez explained…

The Fast & Furious franchise has never been hotter than it was with Furious 7 the last film in which Paul Walker appeared. While the movie found a way to give the actor and the character a proper sendoff, using a bit of CGI trickery and Paul Walker’s brother, the franchise has continued and has continued to need to find a way to explain why Brian O’Conner hasn’t returned when so many others in the franchise have.

He will return in at least one way in Fast X. The trailer for the film shows that the movie will include flashback sequences to Fast Five, and thus Brian O’Conner will at least be seen there. Jason Momoa's villain is a character who has been retconned into that story and is now looking for revenge. And that revenge will likely include Paul Walker's character since, in the world of the movie, he is very much still alive. How else the character might appear, either physically or through other plot elements, remains to be seen. 

Some have suggested that Brie Larson's new Fast X character might be connected to the O'Connor family, though that's just speculation at this point. Meadow Walker’s role in Fast X is apparently just a cameo, but one assumes it will be connected to her father in some way.

Life imitates art in the Fast & Furious franchise, or maybe it’s the other way around, as the cast of the film certainly does come across like a family. Various members of the cast have celebrated Meadow Walker when she’s had professional milestones and reached personal milestones. Having her on the set was apparently special for Rodriguez and that’s likely the case with the rest of the cast. Fast X opens in theaters on May 19.

Welcome back 2 the party! It’s round 2 of Riley watching the Fast and Furious movies, and this time we’re tackling the 2003 Vin Diesel-less sequel 2 Fast 2 Furious on the journey to seeing the 2023 movie schedule’s milestone movie Fast X. As many of you likely know, this movie does not have a good place on the  Fast and Furious ranking, and it’s not at the top of my list either, but I had a blast watching it for the first time, and have a lot of thoughts. 

Where On Earth Was Vin Diesel? 

I was aghast when I found out Vin Diesel wasn’t in 2 Fast 2 Furious. This is because he’s the first person I associate with the franchise, so him not being in the sequel as Dominic Toretto was jarring. 

Turns out Diesel was opposed to The Fast and the Furious should being a franchise. He explained his choice to turn down the sequel, telling #Legend in 2017:

The actor ended up turning down $25 million according to the article. However, when he returned to the Fast franchise he was also a producer, giving him more say in the film as a whole. 

So, with that mystery solved, we can move on to the actual movie. 

Hang On, Cole Hauser -- As In Rip From Yellowstone -- Was In This? 

This point involves a small glimpse into my personal life. My mom has been trying to get me to watch Yellowstone for years now, and I finally gave in approximately 24 hours after watching 2 Fast 2 Furious. To put it lightly, I was shook when I found out that 2 Fast 2 Furious is on Cole Hauser’s resume of movies. He plays the big bag (low-key mustache twirly) Carter Verone in the 2003 Fast film, as well as Rip on Yellowstone, and saying that in a sentence feels silly.

While I still don’t fully believe Hauser played both these characters, according to the internet and my co-workers he did… which is wild. 

There Are Some Sexism Issues Here

The biggest issue I had with this movie was the way it portrayed women. At the time, I’m sure this film wasn’t considered sexist, however, here, now, in 2023 there were many aspects of this film that had sexist undertones, and that was not OK. 

I’m specifically talking about Eva Mendes' Monica Fuentes and Devon Aoki’s Suki. While I’m assuming this movie was made with good intentions by giving these two women big supporting roles, they were constantly being checked out by the guys and hyper-sexualized. I did appreciate that they were both powerful, independent women. However, overall, this film had some serious issues with how the women were represented. I really hope it gets better as the films go on.  

Somehow, There Were Even More Cars Than The First One!

If you read my thoughts about The Fast and the Furious, you’ll know that one of them was how shocked I was by the number of cars in the movie. Well, folks, there were even more in this one! Talk about upping the ante. 

The scene I’m talking about in particular is when all the cars zoomed out of a garage in an effort to confuse the cops so Brian and Roman could get away. I would describe the scene as if you dumped a tub of Hot Wheels on a toy garage, and my friend who was watching the movie with me explained that the sequence felt like a “reverse clown car.” In short, there were a shocking number of vehicles scrambling across the screen, and it was a blast to watch.

Is It Just Me, Or Was There Romantic Tension Between Roman And Brian?

So, hear me out. There was that one moment in 2 Fast 2 Furious where Brian and Roman got into quite the tiff (who am I kidding there were multiple of those) and then intensely stared at each other. In that sequence, they were so close to one another's faces, and the romantic chemistry was red hot.

Paul Walker and Tyrese Gibsons’ characters have a history, they’re clearly passionate about each other, they fight like an old married couple, and look at each other with love and passion in the same way a young and newly in love couple would. With all that said, I would not be opposed to the two getting together. However, I know the Fast franchise audience, I know the time these movies were made, and I’m 100% certain that will never happen. But, a girl can dream. 

That Boat Stunt Was Very, Very Cool

This stunt is proof that movie magic is sick, and makes it so the impossible can look possible. Watching that car jump off the land and on a yacht was epic, and I loved it. Somehow they managed to one-up themselves, while still honoring the dope stunt from the first movie, and it made me really excited to see what happens in the upcoming Fast and Furious movies. 

I learned from Road and Track that the sequence was created by using a stunt car and a pulley system to catapult the vehicle into the air. Then rather than actually damaging a $5 million yacht they built a replica on land, and used it and some explosives to film the collision. Overall, especially considering this was made in 2003, this stunt was epic, and I’m stoked to see how things get even more intense as I make my way through the Fast and Furious timeline. 

Let’s Take A Minute To Appreciate The Terribly Hilarious Dialogue 

To capture my thoughts on this point in one idea: If I were to take a guess, I’d say the word “bro” or “bruh” was used at least 200 times in 2 Fast 2 Furious. The best way I can describe this dialogue is that if you let a teen bro from the early 2000s write a big-budget movie, this is what you’d get. 

The bad dialogue became abundantly clear anytime one of the cars drove fast, the lines the drivers exclaimed were so hilariously cheesy that I wrote them down. For example, Brian says at one point:

Also, Roman exclaims:

This alone proves my point. The dialogue ain’t it in this movie, but boy was it fun to laugh about. 

Other Thoughts 

•  Opening credits…iconic 
•  I legitimately said during the movie: “This is some Mario Kart shit.” 
•  Not a thought, more of a question: Why was Paul in Miami? 
•  Ludacris was the most logical character. 
•  The song “Act a Fool” (which should just be called “2 Fast 2 Furious”) is a banger. 
•  The title really started the trend of committing to number pun titles, and I deeply appreciate that. 

Conclusion: 2 Fast 2 Furious is not the fast and the furious, it’s more like just dudes being bros who happen to be fast and angry.

As you can tell, I don’t have the most positive opinion around 2 Fast 2 Furious. However, it was a good time, and I had a lot of fun watching it. Although, I’m not going to lie I’m not sure I’d watch it again.

Welcome to the beginning of the saga, where I, Riley, watch all the Fast and Furious movies for the first time ever. As a child of the early 2000s I’m incredibly aware that these high-speed, Vin Diesel-led movies are staples of 21st-century film history. Also, with the highly anticipated Fast X furiously approaching on the 2023 movie schedule, I thought now would be a great time to chronicle my experience watching the ten movies that came before the milestone Fast and Furious installment coming this May. 

So, without further ado, let us begin this journey through the Fast franchise with the movie that started it all, 2001’s The Fast and the Furious. 

This Movie Is Painstakingly 2001 

Now, I mean this in a good and a bad way. 

Watching the cars that looked like fluorescent Hot Wheels my brother and I grew up with (I mean this as a compliment) was super fun, and seeing all the throwback references, fashion, music and trends really put in perspective just how long this franchise has been around. 

On the flip side, while there was nothing horrifically inappropriate, this film is a product of its time. These days it’s simply a fact that the way we talk about and to women -- as well as some choice vocabulary -- is different. The other painstakingly 2001 aspect of this film was the CGI. While I don’t think there was much of it, there were moments that were laughable. I’m talking about that first race where the boys use NOS to drive super fast and they decided to show the animated inside of the car starting to fire up. Let’s just say it was cringe. 

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the movie, and the 2001-ness of it didn’t bother me all that much. However, that’s not say this movie was very, very much a product of the early aughts. 

It Feels And Looks Like The First Movie 

You sure can tell this is the first installment of a franchise. While the movie has remained highly ranked among the other Fast and Furious films, it feels almost like a movie where the cast and crew used their can-do attitude to create a really good action movie with a significantly smaller budget than they have now.

With nice cars, but not necessarily the nicest cars, and big set pieces but not necessarily the biggest set pieces, it’s easy to see that this was a brand-new movie that didn’t have the history to prove it deserved a Marvel-level budget. 

Along with the general look of the movie, a lot of world-building and character development had to happen in this film. It’s interesting to see Brian and Dom at the beginning of their relationship, knowing that they become family throughout the first seven movies. Overall, everything feels like a first, and I love that about the movie, however, I also can’t wait to see how this world grows. 

There Are So. Many. Cars. 

I know that sounds dumb, but I couldn’t get over it. And before you start thinking, ‘But Riley, this is a car movie, it’s literally about cars…’ I know that. However, I was not expecting there to be that many cars in the movie! When all the vehicles rolled up to that first race my jaw, literally, dropped. Seeing that many super nice, very fast and you could say furious cars in one place was overwhelming and I was wow-ed. The sheer number of cars is also what led to some wicked cool stunts, races and massive moments throughout the movie, truly setting the precedent for the rest of the franchise. 

That Final Stunt Was Not Only Super Cool, But Extremely Well Written

After watching the last ten minutes of this movie I now get why ten more movies have followed. This is because, as a person who knows nothing about cars, I could easily recognize that the final stunt at the train tracks, where Dom hits a semi and flips his car, is a masterful feat of action, filmmaking and driving. So, I’d imagine for all you car buffs out there your mind was also blown when that happened (especially if you saw the movie in 2001). 

In an interview with ET automotive expert Todd Hovsepian broke down the stunt, noting there was some movie magic involved, but that it was also super cool:

While the action is spectacular, the stunt is also meaningful because it calls back to major points made throughout the movie. For example, when Dom hit the semi that symbolized the character getting payback for the semi-hijacking he did throughout the movie. Also, when Brian gives him the “10-second car” at the end, that is a callback to the first drag race, where he uses his car’s pink slip to race. However, he didn’t end up giving the car to Dom because it exploded. 

So, overall, this action-packed stunt wasn't just fun to watch, it was also loaded with meaning.  

I’m So Here For Brian And Dom Becoming BFFs 

It’s hard to believe that a fun fact about Fast and Furious is Vin Diesel almost wasn’t Dominic Toretto. But thank goodness he and Paul Walker both said yes, because they make such a fun duo on screen. Watching their characters go from enemies to friends then back to enemies and then leaving as pals, they really took us on quite a ride through their budding bromance. Since both characters had major secrets the movie set up a complex relationship for the two, however, there’s such a clear admiration between them that you can’t help but hope the two become besties. 

I think this first movie set the stage nicely for Dom and Brian to work together through the films, up to Fast 7. I also feel it’s important to acknowledge the fact that I’m watching these movies many years after Paul Walker’s death. This fact makes me acutely aware of how important the two actors were to each other, and seeing the origins of their relationship felt really special. I can’t wait to see it flourish as I work my way across the Fast and Furious timeline. 

The Plot Twists… I Really Didn’t See Those Coming

When it comes to movies, I think I’m pretty good a figuring out the big plot twists or shocking moments. Like (spoilers for two very popular movies ahead) in Top Gun: Maverick I totally knew Hangman would be the person to save Maverick and Rooster, or in Knives Out I correctly predicted that Ransom did it. However, with this – and please remember I went into this movie blind – I did. not. see. the plot twists coming. 

The big twist I’m talking about is the fact that Brian is an undercover agent. When he walked into that house to chat about the case my mind was blown, I couldn’t believe he wasn’t 100% in with Dom. I guess the shock came from me knowing that the big thing about these movies is the ensemble is a family, and I had assumed Brian and Dom had always been BFFLs. However, boy was I wrong, and I’m so happy I was.

 Other thoughts

• The sepia filter was a choice. 
• The final 10 seconds of the movie really got me excited for the second one. 
• To contextualize my feelings about the CGI, I literally used a face-palm emoji in my notes to describe my thoughts about it.
• Vin Diesel knows how to deliver a monologue.

Conclusion: It is a super, super solid first movie, however, it could have been a bit faster and furious-er.

There are few action franchises in the film world right now that are quite as massively popular as The Fast and the Furious. A whopping tenth movie is currently in the works, with a truly wild budget and some great new actors. The property remains synonymous with late actor Paul Walker, who passed away back in 2013 while in the midst of filming the seventh film. And Vin Diesel posted a sweet tribute to Walker on the nine-year anniversary of his death.

Vin Diesel is the star and producer of the Fast and Furious franchise, and had a super close relationship with Paul Walker prior to his unexpected passing. The Guardians of the Galaxy actor often reflects on his colleague’s death and legacy online, and has a close relationship to Walker’s daughter Meadow. So on the nine-year anniversary of Paul Walker’s death, Diesel shared a sweet throwback on Instagram, posting:

How sweet is that? Vin Diesel kept his message short and sweet, sharing how much he loves and misses his Fast and Furious co-star Paul Walker. And considering how much the beloved action franchise is about “family” the post is sure to touch the hearts of the generations of fans out there. Alexa, play Wiz Khalifa’s “See You Again.”

Vin Diesel shared this touching throwback with Paul Walker to his whopping 84 million Instagram followers. The late actor passed away November 30th, 2013 at 40 years-old, due to injuries sustained in a car crash. And while it’s been nearly a decade since his passing, it no doubt feels fresh to both fans and those who actually knew him– including Diesel himself.

Despite the years and movies that have passed since Paul Walker’s death, his character Brian O’Connor continues to be part of the life blood of the Fast and Furious franchise. His partner Mia Toretto (Jordana Brewster) recently returned as a main character, and we’ve also met their two children. Brian’s absence has been explained by claims that he’s retired from the wild adventures of the crew. Although he arrived for the final family BBQ in F9, as his car pulled up to the house.

As previously mentioned, Vin Diesel has remained very tight with Paul Walker’s daughter Meadow in the years since his passing. The two regularly share sweet photos and throwbacks with each other, while also being committed to honoring Paul Walker’s legacy. Some Fast and Furious fans want to see Meadow actually appear for a role in the final chapters of the beloved action franchise. We’ll just have to wait and see what Diesel has up their sleeves.

This past weekend, Paul Walker’s daughter Meadow had her 23rd birthday. It’s obviously a tragedy her father couldn’t be there to celebrate his daughter’s most momentous day as he passed away in a car accident close to nine years ago. But fortunately, she has the love and support of her father’s Fast and Furious co-stars and friends Vin Diesel and Ludacris who shared sweet exchanges with her on her birthday.

Just like the idea of family was fundamental in The Fast and the Furious movies, the same is true in the real life of Meadow Walker. On Instagram, Vin Diesel posted a photo of when the American model got married and posted the caption, “Happy birthday…Proud.” Ludacris couldn’t help but chime in on the birthday fun by wishing his co-star’s daughter a happy birthday too.

Vin Diesel and Meadow Walker will always have a special connection to each other through her father. They both take the time to share sweet messages about Walker and the years they spent together on the set of The Fast and the Furious movies. It’s easy to get choked up seeing how close-knit the two friends were. Ludacris also had moments of connecting with Meadow like their sweet exchange supporting the rapper/actor after it was announced he would receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2023 alongside Walker. Meadow is lucky to have great friends like these two by her side.

Paul Walker’s 23-year-old daughter is like a little piece of him. She’s been helping to keep her father’s legacy alive by her and her uncles being on set providing their own feedback. Another way she could do that in the future is by somehow appearing in a cameo for the two-part Fast X movie. Vin Diesel is all for Meadow joining Fast and Furious 10. Ludacris also shared his thoughts on Meadow joining the franchise, believing her “heart of gold” would be a perfect contribution to the drag racing film series finale.

As of recently, Meadow Walker has had a successful modeling career showing off her new sunglasses for Tiffany & Co’s new ad campaign. She also supports a number of organizations like the Paul Walker Foundation that strives to commit acts of goodwill to empower young people and the environment. Walker’s also the global ambassador of Pencils of Promise and the United Nations Population Fund. I’m sure her father is very proud of all of the work she’s accomplished and still keeping in contact with his on-set family.

Paul Walker’s daughter enjoyed a great birthday with kind words from her father’s Fast and Furious co-stars. It must be a comfort for her to know that she will never be short on love. Fast X will have its 2023 movie release on May 19th with part two planning to be released in February 2024.

Yesterday would have been the 49th birthday of Paul Walker. The Fast & Furious star tragically died in a car accident in 2013, but he has never been far from the thoughts of the fans of the movie franchise or those who starred alongside him. Several members of the Fast & Furious family took a moment to remember Walker on his special day. 

Vin Diesel took a long moment to speak about Paul Walker on Instagram by speaking to Paul Walker. He talks to his old friend and former co-star as if he was sitting right there with him. It’s quite touching to hear him talk with the waves in the background and the music playing. The beach was one of the last places we see Paul Walker’s character Brian in Furious 7, his last film in the series. 

Paul Walker’s daughter Willow has never failed to remember her father on important dates, and so his birthday was certainly no exception. She posted a picture of the two of them when she was very young, and attached to it a request to support the Paul Walker Foundation, an organization that Meadow has started in her father’s name with the purpose of raising money for scholarships with the goal to “leave people better educated and equipped to deal with the challenges of tomorrow.” 

Jordana Brewster, who plays Paul Walker’s on-screen wife Mia in the Fast & Furious franchise, also included support for the Paul Walker Foundation in her Instagram post, which may be the most interesting birthday remembrance of them all. She posted a video from her own phone which appears to be of herself and Walker on set during one of the Fast & Furious films. Fans can really see him as he was when he was still with us, laughing and having a good time.

The Fast & Furious franchise is still going strong and certainly, as long as that is the case, Paul Walker’s memory will certainly be front and center. Paul Walker was recently awarded a Walk of Fame star in Los Angeles. Walker’s character of Brian has continued to be referenced in the Fast & Furious franchise, almost as a way of reminding fans that while the actor may be gone, his character is safe and living happily. Perhaps it makes everybody feel the loss a little bit less to know that.

The Fast & Furious franchise is currently working on Fast X, what’s expected to be part one of a two part finale for the series. One assumes that Brian will play his part, even if he’s never actually seen on screen. He certainly won't be forgotten. Fast X is set to arrive in theaters in May 2023.

The road to the release of the upcoming movie Fast X has seen many of its stars showing off new and exciting developments on the internet. With production on the penultimate entry into the Fast Saga timeline in full swing, we’re seeing all sorts of cool behind the scenes looks at where Vin Diesel, Ludacris, and the rest of the family are going next. 

There’s still plenty of sweetness outside of those antics, as Diesel and Luda recently reunited with Meadow Walker, the daughter of late co-star Paul Walker. The occassion was the wedding of fellow co-star Jordana Brewster, as seen in the photo  on Instagram. Walker once again made time to celebrate her chosen family on social media, which led to exactly the caption you’d expect when involving the cast of that worldwide mega hit: 

Standing between the casually dressed Vin Diesel and the decked out Ludacris, also known as Chris Bridges, Meadow Walker looks stunning in a dark brown metallic dress. Truly looking like a family, it’s as if Meadow ran into her cool uncles at a family celebration. Which would be fitting, as Paul Walker was considered a spiritual brother to Diesel and most of the Fast cast; and that familial connection naturally extends to Meadow herself. 

Perhaps making all of this celebration even more adorable is the fact that this is very similar to the responses that came out of Meadow Walker’s own wedding late last year. Fast family is as Fast family does, as seen in Jordana Brewster’s sweet post honoring that event in a timely manner. There’s truly no love lost between the members who have continued to remain close in this tight knit sphere of performers. 

Of course, there doesn’t need to be a wedding to get Fast X’s on and off screen family to communicate. Earlier this year Meadow and Ludacris remembered the late Paul Walker, as they commemorated his upcoming star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, set to be unveiled next year. No matter the occasion, if there’s something to cheer about within the Fast Saga family, consider it celebrated properly.

Speaking of massive events, it’s the beginning of the end for Dominic Toretto and family, when Fast X debuts in theaters on May 19, 2023. Which means fans are going to want to reminisce about what’s come to pass previously on the road to Fast Saga revenge. Though getting through that journey isn't going to be easy.

As such, you can start your journey with F9, the most recent entry, as an HBO Max subscriber. However, you'll have to track down the various past films in order throughout both HBO Max and Peacock. Both of those platforms seem to have split the run of past adventures, and you won't want to miss any of the fun. 

The Fast franchise has transformed into a force to be reckoned with, now having its tenth street racing film in production. Vin Diesel’s 2001 The Fast and The Furious has turned into one of the top film franchises in the world, but its monetary success is just one of the rewards for those involved with the franchise. The camaraderie formed between the cast and crew has long been thought of as a family, and long time Fast family member Ludacris opens up about landing a Hollywood star later this year, the same year as his departed Fast brother Paul Walker.

Paul Walker was the star of the Fast franchise for 6 films, even being digitally put into Fast 7 after his death in 2013. He was at the heart of the Fast family, and his legacy is one that has been kept alive through the franchise and his fellow cast members. As such, Walker is still very much a relevant figure in Hollywood even almost a decade after his passing.

Having been in a number of Fast films with Paul Walker, Ludacris was close to the star and still remains a part of his daughter Meadow Walker’s life. The rapper and actor will be honored with a Hollywood star the same year as Walker, and, in an exclusive interview with ET, Ludacris expresses just how much it means to him to be honored with his “brother”. Here it is in his own words:

Paul Walker obviously will not be able to physically be there to receive his award. but his family will make sure his presence is always known. As complementary and honorific as it is to be awarded a Hollywood Star of Fame, Ludacris makes sure to take some time to explain just what a great person his brother Walker was. In the same interview, here is what Ludacris says of his franchise brother:

Even though it’s been years and multiple movies since Paul Walker’s direct involvement with the Fast franchise, he has certainly touched each film with the inspiration that Ludacris spoke about. In fact, it’s a promise that Vin Diesel made to Walker that may have made the franchise last for so many movies. 

This is not the first time that an actor will be awarded a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame after their passing. However, Paul Walker’s legacy is one that has been certainly kept strong by the relationships he made when he was here, including that of his fellow honoree and Fast family member Ludacris. His star is one that has been well earned, and an achievement that keeps giving as the Fast franchise is not yet even complete.

The in production Fast X is the first part of the last chapter in the Fast franchise. While you won’t see the film on our schedule of 2022 new release films, there is a good possibility it will land on next year’s list of highly anticipated movie releases, as it is currently set to release on May 19th of 2023. We will probably not be seeing Paul Walker alongside Ludacris in the film, but we will certainly see his influence as well as a new star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame in the real world.

The bond between the model and the Fast & Furious cast and crew has only grown as they still champion her late father’s legacy. Walker’s Brian O’Connor remained omnipresent in the fast car franchise despite the actor’s tragic death. His daughter made sure his philanthropy lives on through the Paul Walker Foundation, which his co-stars actively take part in. While the elder Walker may no longer be physically here, the younger Walker keeps his presence alive off-screen for the franchise. His co-stars haven’t slacked either as they, especially Vin Diesel, have shared throwback photos and sweet tributes in the late Furious 7 actor’s memory.

Expect Brian O’Connor to be mentioned in Fast 10 as the franchise finale continues to film around the world. The cast continues to grow with the addition of Oscar winner Rita Moreno as the Toretto siblings' grandmother. Moviegoers have already gotten a peek into the final movie as the cast shared hanging-out moments from the set. They will have to wait to see the final product as Fast 10 will be released on May 19, 2023.

For a long time, the Fast & Furious had two main leads: Paul Walker’s Brian O’Connor and Vin Diesel’s Dominic Toretto, with their life journeys intersecting in 2001’s The Fast and the Furious. Sadly, Walker passed in 2013, and Furious 7 marked his character’s last appearance in the franchise (excluding him driving up at the end of F9). Diesel is still going strong as Dom in the main Fast & Furious film series, and with the now-officially-titled Fast X beginning principal photography, he’s reflecting on Walker’s legacy, as well as revealed a character who was almost excluded from what was previously known as Fast & Furious 10.

Starting with Paul Walker, it’s been almost a full decade since he died from injuries sustained in a car crash. Vin Diesel has paid tribute to Walker numerous times over the years, both in public and on social media, and in this latest reflection that he shared on Instagram, Diesel talked about how he continues to honor both Walker and his family, saying:

Paul Walker died in the middle of Furious 7’s production, but thanks to digital wizardry and Walker’s brothers, Caleb and Cody, standing in for him, the production was able to bring Brian O’Connor’s story to a close. But as Vin Diesel made clear and many other occasions, he and Walker were more than just co-workers; they formed a brotherly bond during their time together on the Fast & Furious movies. So while Walker is no longer with us, Diesel is still close with the Walker family, which includes, as he mentioned, walking Meadow Walker down the aisle at her wedding.

Whether visual effects will be used again to insert Brian O’Connor back into the main Fast & Furious film series before it concludes remains to be seen. However, as far as Fast X is concerned, Vin Diesel has confirmed that Jordana Brewster’s Mia Toretto, who’s also been part of the Fast & Furious franchise since the beginning, will be back, though that wasn’t always the case. It turns out there was a version of the upcoming movie’s script that didn’t include Mia, but we have Diesel’s daughter to thank for changing that. The actor explained:

After sitting out The Fate of the Furious, Jordana Brewster reprised Mia for F9, which saw her and Dom reuniting with their estranged brother, John Cena’s Jakob Toretto. It hasn’t been revealed yet if Cena will be back for Fast X, but regardless, with the main Fast & Furious film series winding down, I imagine many fans would have found it weird if Mia hadn’t been present. Luckily for them, Diesel’s oldest daughter, Hania Riley (whom he’s nicknamed Alpha Angel), convinced director Justin Lin to alter course, and now Brewster will reunite with Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Nathalie Emmanuel, Sung Kang, Charlize Theron and Michael Rooker, as well as work with newcomers Jason Momoa, Daniela Melchior and Brie Larson.

There was a time when Vin Diesel and Paul Walker co-led the Fast & Furious franchise together, with their characters, Dominic Toretto and Brian O’Conner, becoming as close as brothers. Sadly, Walker passed away in 2013, but Diesel has made sure he’s not forgotten, frequently reflecting on his time with Walker and sharing tributes to him on social media. Case in point, Diesel posted a throwback to him as Fast & Furious 10 heads across the pond to shoot.

Fast & Furious 10 makes the beginning of the end for the main Fast & Furious film series, as it’s shooting back-to-back with Fast & Furious 11, the final installment of this saga. Vin Diesel teased earlier this month that filming on 10 was beginning soon, and he’s now shared that the cast and crew will be rolling cameras in London, England with the below Instagram post:

Here we have Paul Walker, Vin Diesel and Roman Pearce actor Tyrese Gibson at what’s likely some kind of Fast & Furious event. Gibson has been part of the franchise almost as long as the other two, debuting in 2003’s 2 Fast 2 Furious, which Diesel sat out. The picture reminds us of an era that has long passed, but Diesel clearly still has Walker on his mind as he gets ready to make Fast & Furious 10 in London, one of the many locations the production will visit.

Although Paul Walker is no longer with us, Brian O’Conner lives on in the Fast & Furious universe. At the end of Furious 7, he officially retired from heists and saving the world to raise his children with Jordana Brewster’s Mia Toretto. Mia jumped back into action for F9 after her and Dom’s brother, John Cena’s Jakob Toretto, reemerged in their lives, and at the end of the movie, Brian arrived in his distinctive blur Nissan Skyline to join the celebration at Dom’s house. 

F9 director Justin Lin acknowledged that it’s been difficult writing around Paul Walker’s character, but with just two movies left to go in the main film series, maybe there’s a chance we can see Brian one last time through a combination of body doubles and digital wizard, just like what was done for a decent chunk of Furious 7. Even if that doesn’t happen, we can count on Vin Diesel, as well as Walker’s daughter Meadow, to help keep the late actor’s legacy alive.

No official plot details for Fast & Furious 10 have been revealed yet, but along with Vin Diesel and Tyrese Gibson, Michelle Rodriguez, Ludacris, Sung Kang and Nathalie Emmanuel are all expected to reprise their respective roles. The next movie has also brought Aquaman’s Jason Momoa into the fold, reportedly as one of the movie’s villains. Behind the scenes, Justin Lin is returning to the director’s chair, and Chris Morgan, who’s written every primary Fast & Furious movie other than the first two and F9, is penning the screenplay.

F9 hit theaters last summer, kicking off the endgame of the Fast and Furious franchise and, now, the family is gearing up for the final two movies. Fast 10 has been delayed slightly, but production is still moving forward. While the film series has gone through a ton of changes following Paul Walker’s death in 2013, the creatives have tried to keep his spirit alive. Now, ahead of the final film, director Justin Lin is looking back on his conversations with Walker regardin the franchise final installment. 

Justin Lin has played a significant role in transforming the Fast franchise into what it is today. The filmmaker recently spoke to Insider about the ending to the franchise during which Paul Walker came up. Lin, who was back in the saddle for F9, revealed that even years ago, the Brian O'Conner actor was curious about how things would be wrapped up:

Needless to say, the minds behind this film series have been mulling over its conclusion for quite some time. This conversation was more than likely during the making of the 4th movie in the franchise, which brought everyone from the original film back after Justin Lin’s Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift. Lin went on to mark the importance of the conversation and the reality of him, Vin Diesel and their colleagues finishing up the franchise with Paul Walker:

This has to be a bittersweet experience for the group of collaborators. It's sad that one of their own won't be with them to finish the journey, but his absence is sure to serve as a source of motivation as opposed to one of sorrow. And those ties definitely run deep.

When Paul Walker died in 2013, his daughter Meadow was just 15 years old. In the years since, she’s forged a successful career as a model and found love with Louis Thornton Allan. While her dad couldn’t be for her wedding, Meadow was able to share the special day with people who meant a lot to him, including Jordana Brewster. The actress, who plays Mia Toretto in the Fast series, was present at the ceremony and reception. She shared a lovely tribute to Meadow on Instagram after the festivities. In the photos the actress shared, her Fast colleague Vin Diesel is also up front and center -- not a total surprise, since he had the honor of walking Meadow Walker down the aisle. The photos and footage that the bride shared of her nuptials made it clear that having Diesel by her side in that big moment was especially poignant. 

Vin Diesel and Paul Walker were famously close friends both on and off the Fast & Furious set, and Diesel has always been honest about how hard it was to lose Walker. He’s also made it clear that he's kept in touch with his late co-star's daughter after her father’s death. 

Jordana Brewster, too, has opened up about her grieving process after her on-screen lover's death, and the ways in which she has tried to honor him in her life. Being there to witness his daughter’s wedding was clearly a significant moment for her. 

It shouldn’t come as a surprise to Fast fans that the stars showed up for the big day, though. Cast members like Ludacris have said that the younger Walker’s presence on the set of recent franchise installments has helped the cast and crew feel like they are carrying on their colleague's legacy. There has even been talk of her joining the cast in F10 or F11 -- though like most other speculation about the upcoming films, that hasn’t been officially confirmed. 

Given all the speculation about the last two Fast films, we may learn sooner rather than later whether Meadow will be involved in a more official capacity. Fast & Furious 10 is slated to be released on April 7, 2023.

It’s too early to say for sure, but one would imagine the character will receive some sort of acknowledgement during the final two installments.

Vin Diesel seems more than excited to be forging ahead with the pair of productions, but Paul Walker’s absence definitely isn’t lost on him. Diesel has spoken candidly about the impact Walker had on the franchise and how the late performer continues to guide his steps. Fast 10 and 11 will serve as the culmination of the long-running blockbuster franchise, but they’ll also symbolize a promise that was made years ago. The gender swapped reboot brings back some favorite faces from the original, but the absence of Paul Walker is one missed not only by the fans, but by an original star as well. In fact, returning star Rachael Leigh Cook reflects on the loss of Walker and why it hit her so hard.

He’s All That may have a newer and younger cast for the most part, but the throwback film does bring back familiar faces in Rachael Leigh Cook and Matthew Lillard. In an interview with Vanity Fair, Cook says how gutted she feels to miss out on getting a reunion with Paul Walker, particularly she say was able to have a reunion with Lillard. The actress said:

It’s been over 20 years since She’s All That was released, and the stars are likely completely different people now than they were back then, as they have lived two whole decades of adulthood since the '90s classic filmed. Coming back together with another person you worked closely with years later has to be a trip, but it's a moment Rachael Leigh Cook was unable to have with her co-star. In fact, it's still a little hard to believe Paul Walker died nearly a decade ago. He'd be approaching 50 if he were still alive today.

The fact that Paul Walker didn’t get some of those chapters is heartbreaking enough, but it must be a whole new level of sadness to realize that Walker would likely have had the opportunity to be a part of that project right along with Matthew Lillard and Rachael Leigh Cook if he were alive today. In a way, the film marks just another thing that Walker could have touched with his life and shown up for another fanbase, as he always did with the Fast family.

Not all of the OG cast returned for He’s All That, but to catch those appearances, the movie is streaming on Netflix right now. As tough as his absence may be, the fact that a creation spinning off from something in his past is proof that he left a legacy that will be remembered by his fans.

She's also known for playing the titular Josie McCoy in Josie and the Pussycats. Additionally, Cook starred in The Baby-Sitters Club. Her other film credits include The House of Yes, Tom and Huck, Blow Dry, and Nancy Drew. Also, Cook can be seen in Get Carter, Carpool, Living Out Loud, Texas Rangers, 11:14, Tangled, A Midsummer's Nights' Dream, and several direct-to-video films. Moreover, the actress is heard in Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children and Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker.

Additionally, on TV, Rachael Leigh Cook starred in TNT"s Perception. She also played recurring roles in Dawson's Creek, Las Vegas, and Psych. Playing the part of Brock Hudson, a crude, lewd reality TV star who starts dating Zack's ex, Matthew Lillard is a wild-and-out guy in 1999's She's All That. Most notably, Lillard played Shaggy Rogers in Scooby-Doo and Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed. He has also voiced the character in several animated films, notably after Casey Kasem retired from the part. His other film credits include Scream, SLC Punk!, Summer Catch, Without a Paddle, The Descendants, Trouble with the Curve, The Groomsmen, and Looney Tunes: Back in Action. Moreover, Lillard acted in and directed Fat Kid Rules the World.

Usher (Campus DJ)

Playing the part of Campus DJ, the life of the party, Usher received one of his first film roles in She's All That. Kimberly “Lil' Kim” Jones (Alex Chason Sawyer)

As Alex Chason Sawyer, a member of Taylor's inner circle, Kimberly Jones, i.e. "Lil' Kim," made her feature film debut in 1999's She's All That. Her other film credits include Juwanna Man, Gang of Roses, Zoolander, Longshot, You Got Served, Those Who Walk in Darkness, and Superhero Movie. Furthermore, outside of television, Kieran Culkin played Jason "Igby" Slocumb, Jr. in Igby Goes Down. As Katarina "Katie" Darlingson, one of Taylor's best friends, Gabrielle Union made her feature film debut in She's All That. Paul Walker (Dean Sampson Jr.)

In the role of Dean Sampson Jr., Zackary's friend who challenges him to the dare, Paul Walker received one of his biggest parts in She's All That. Most notably, following his supporting turn in this high school rom-com, Walker played Brian O'Conner in several Fast & Furious movies. He also starred in Joy Ride, Running Scared, Into the Blue, Eight Below, Meet the Deedles, The Death and Life of Bobby Z, The Lazarus Project, Takers, and The Skulls. Additionally, away from the big screen, Walker could be seen in Throb, The Young and the Restless, and Who's the Boss? Quite tragically, in late 2013, the movie star was involved in a fatal car crash. He was only 40. Walker posthumously starred in Brick Mansions, Hours (which he also executive produced), and Furious 7.

When you’re related to The Fast and Furious franchise, you’re family. Meadow Walker knows this acutely, being the daughter of the late Paul Walker, an integral member of the franchise before his untimely death in an accident at a charity event. Years later, she’s sort of been unofficially adopted into the Diesel clan, and when Vin Diesel’s young son had a recent birthday, she celebrated with a family-oriented message, as did F9 co-star Ludacris.

Vin Diesel shared a sweet birthday cake for his son Vincent Sinclair, who recently turned 11. The video includes the song “Brown-Eyed Girl,” by Van Morrison, which is young Vincent's fave track and. You should check out the post for the cake alone, but there were also some family-oriented comments that some of the other Fast gang shared, too.

Both Fast family members Meadow Walker and Ludacris responded on the post, with Ludacris simply sharing a “King” emoji for the young man’s birthday. Meadow Walker was a little more intimate with her own post, sharing a heart emoji and noting:

It was Justin Lin’s idea to bring Vin's real kid into the movie, and Diesel shared the story a few months ago with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show.

Since the death of Paul Walker, the world has been watching and checking in on Meadow Walker as if she was their child. That’s even more so with the father’s Fast and Furious castmates. So every moment Walker shares become a huge deal. That’s the case with her recent engagement to actor Louis Thornton-Allan. Now, an all-grown-up Walker decided to show off her new engagement ring.

Seeing Meadow Walker giggling as she showed off her engagement ring was just a reminder of how grown she is now. Looking at the video, it just seemed like an ordinary day for the model as she stared into the camera before swimming off casually. At the same time, Walker wanted to share her happiness with the world. It was nice of her to share such a momentous, life-changing time as an adult.

Getting engaged at 22 showed just how much Meadow Walker has grown since Paul Walker died nearly a decade ago. Given how private she is, she might keep the nuptials under wraps with her followers and outlets finding out after the fact.

But Meadow Walker and Louis Thornton-Allan may have come as a surprise to her followers. The couple just went public with their relationship in early July, according to People. Thornton-Allan shared a photo of the couple cuddling on a couch on Instagram. Walker shared the actor’s face on her Instagram in a loving post. So their engagement may seem a little fast for some, but when you know, you know.

Given how close she is to the Fast and Furious franchise, Meadow Walker will hopefully send those wedding invites in the mail. You know Vin Diesel will be at the top of the list since he's Walker’s godfather. She shared a throwback photo with Diesel from her youth on Instagram. Even his kids might get invited to the ceremony. Hopefully she’ll be able to pay tribute to her father Paul Walker in some way.

Incorporating her father into her marriage won’t be a problem considering her dedication to his legacy. Many of Paul Walker’s cast have cited Meadow Walker as the reason for the franchise keeping Brian alive in the films. If Vin Diesel had his way, Walker may be a part of the final two Fast and Furious films. Hopefully, she might pop up in the female-led spinoff.

While the world waits to be Meadow Walker walk do the aisle, followers might want to support her Fast and Furious family in the meantime. F9 is currently in theaters and on VOD.

Following the events starting with Fast Five, it’s kind of hard to imagine the Fast and the Furious franchise without Tyrese Gibson. Yet, there was a short stretch including The Fast and The Furious: Tokyo Drift and the fourth film in the series, Fast & Furious, where the actor wasn’t in the franchise at all. Well, Tyrese Gibson has now explained how the The Fast and Furious franchise was done with him until Paul Walker helped bring him back.

The series was actually going through an interesting transitional period after 2 Fast 2 Furious, which is where the Baby Boy star made his debut alongside other series mainstay, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges. It is interesting to hear though that Tyrese Gibson wasn’t considered for the re-branded, more action-heavy version of the franchise until Paul Walker went to bat for him. In a recent EW's Binge podcast, Gibson had this to say about what happened, calling it a "fight" to get him back into the franchise.

It likely helped that Tyrese Gibson had worked so hard to make sure his Fast character Roman was nothing like the one that Vin Diesel had crafted in the first movie and honed years later in the franchise. The actor says that was an intentional choice and that he wanted to bring more "humor" to the character during his introduction, noting the thought was...

I really love this behind-the-scenes kind of stuff, because I had no idea that it was a “fight” to get Tyrese Gibson back into the franchise. It is well known that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Gibson didn’t get along for a while, especially when it came to the side-story, Hobbs & Shaw. It was here that Gibson thought that Dwayne Johnson wasn’t being fair to the Fast and the Furious (in Vin Diesel’s voice) family by doing a side project without most of the cast. But their feud now looks to be over, so everything is good on that front.

Overall this new information is really interesting because this took place before the whole Rock/Tyrese beef that ended up going very public. I actually kind of wonder what direction the series could have gone in if they didn’t bring Gibson and Ludacris back? One of the main reasons why Fast Five -- which is arguably considered the best movie in the long-running franchise -- is so good is because of the huge cast of characters, with Tyrese Gibson and Ludacris included. To think of them not in the series after the fourth film almost seems like sacrilege.

Seeing Brian O’Conner indirectly appear F9 is still a surreal moment for some fans. Paul Walker’s death pushed the Fast and Furious franchise to pivot in his absence, but his death didn’t end his affiliation with the movies as his family stepped up. So the F9 cast spoke on how Meadow Walker is keeping her father’s legacy alive in the blockbuster franchise.

Paul Walker’s death didn’t stop his Fast and Furious family from leaving behind his character within the universe. Regarding Walker’s legacy, Ludacris voiced the cast’s love for the late actor. The F9 star said the following about Walker still being a presence within the film franchise:

The interview revealed just how close Paul Walker and his co-stars were (and continued to be). Incorporating his family into the fold is a genuine and heartfelt move from Vin Diesel and everyone involved. But this isn’t the first time Meadow Walker’s contribution has been highlighted.

Jordana Brewster was asked a few weeks ago if Meadow Walker would join the Fast and Furious franchise. She seemed fond of the idea, even advocating for the model to join the franchise. Even Vin Diesel backed Paul Walker’s daughter joining Fast and Furious 10 with an ominous response. The Fast & Furious franchise refers to its core cast members as "family." Both inside and outside the film franchise we do get the impression that the core cast really does have quite a close relationship, and in the past we've seen actual family members of some of the cast step up when their help was needed. Meadow Walker was born in 1998 which means she was all of three-years-old when the first Fast and Furious movie came out. The franchise that her father Paul Walker was a part of has been a part of her entire life. She frequently shares pictures of her father, as well as other members of the cast that make it clear that they all truly are close. With the end now in sight for the Fast and Furious franchise, with a two-part finale now looking to start filming as early as next year, could the new movie include Meadow Walker as a way to bring Paul Walker's movie family and real family together? Jordana Brewster tells Access something like that would be beautiful...

The word is that Meadow Walker, a professional model, has considered getting on screen in the film franchise. And it seems to be almost a foregone conclusion that if she wanted to appear, a place would be found for her. Certainly, considering the relationship that she has with the other cast members, if she's trading dress pictures with Jordana Brewster, she would be welcomed with open arms.

Vin Diesel's own son appeared in F9 so there's also precedent for bringing in actual family, and it seems more than likely that we could see something like this happen in the next two films. Fast & Furious 10 has been confirmed to be in two parts but it's also confirmed that those two films will wrap up the saga. If that's the case, then you can be sure the movies will want to give everybody a proper sendoff. Paul Walker will almost certainly be recognized in some way. They could bring his brother back to actually stand in for him on screen as they did at the end of Furious 7, or they could do something a little different, like bring in his daughter to play a part.

If I were to put money on it, I'd bet we'll see Meadow Walker in one or both parts of Fast and Furious 10. If production really does get underway early next year, we'll likely know for sure by then.

The Fast Saga has always been about family, and as the series continues to draw ever closer to its huge finale in Fast and Furious 10, it’s raised a lot of questions about how that story will end. As pre-production has begun on Fast 10, Vin Diesel has been keeping the memory of the late Paul Walker, as well as his connection with Walker’s daughter Meadow, firmly in mind. Which may or may not mean that Meadow Walker could feature in the big finish.

A good part of Vin Diesel’s recent interview with E! News discussed the brotherhood that The Fast and the Furious started between he and Paul Walker. With that close friendship leading to the decision to keep Brian O’Connor alive in the Fast Saga, there was obviously a question of whether or not Meadow Walker would be considered as an addition to the cinematic family. With a smile and a good hearted laugh, Vin Diesel danced around that subject as follows:

This statement could go either way, as Fast 10 is probably one of the most guarded secrets at the moment. With the potential two-part wrap up currently being plotted, and director Justin Lin not expecting to film until at least some point in 2022, there may not be anything to say about Meadow Walker’s potential role just yet. Then again, it’s hard to keep a straight face while considering that possibility, especially after watching Vin Diesel fail to do so himself when discussing it.

As F9 has headed out to theaters in international markets, and the domestic release looms on next weekend’s horizon, the question of how and if Paul Walker’s Brian O’Connor factors into this installment of the Fast Saga is going to be an important one. But just as he’s said when it comes to the possibility of continuing Dom’s saga outside of the core franchise, Vin Diesel seems open to all sorts of ideas. Meadow Walker has embarked on a career in modeling, so who’s to say her relationship with her godfather wouldn’t yield such an awesome tribute to her own father’s work?

Whether it’s through the series’ approach to physics, plot mechanics, or paying continued homage to the late Paul Walker, all things are possible through the Fast Saga. That’s the attitude that Vin Diesel and the entire family have when it comes to telling the right sort of story to close out this final quarter-mile. So Meadow Walker might want to prepare herself for the ultimate gear shift, as she might become a member of the Toretto family after all.

F9 may hold some clues as to how this whole matter would work out, and you’ll get your chance to see it in theaters on June 25th. But don’t let that limit your 2021 movie excitement, as there’s a whole bunch of movies looking to earn some sorely missed summer movie money. Though, there is a first look at Jurassic World: Dominion coming with the IMAX showings, so that’s something else to consider when making the big decision.

After multiple delays due to COVID, F9 is finally racing towards the big screen. A year after the original release, the film finally had its premiere with a full red carpet and all. F9 will raise the stakes once again and, judging by the trailers, there will be even more cool stunts in this long-awaited installment. But as the film approaches, Gibson is also getting candid about how hard it’s been to continue on without late co-star Paul Walker.

After Paul Walker’s passing in 2013, the Fast franchise gave the actor and his character a proper send-off in an emotional tribute in 2015's Furious 7. Ultimately, he franchise has managed to keeping moving without Walker, who had been a central figure since the franchise's beginnings. Tyrese Gibson has never shied away from speaking about the void that Walker left and, while speaking with EW, he talked about the late performer and his feelings towards the franchise's seventh installment, saying:

While he likely glad that the film was successful, the actor seems to have more sad memories than good ones because Paul Walker’s sudden death. This could be especially hard for him when considering that he and Walker were already having their typical fun on that set before his passing. Gibson concludes by saying that once Furious 7 came out, it was very painful to watch, and it’s not a film he has revisited since.

Tyrese Gibson and Paul Walker both starred in the second movie in the fast franchise, 2 Fast 2 Furious. Tyrese played Roman Pearce, an old friend of Paul Walker's Brian O’Conner. With that film going into pre-production at the moment, Diesel took some time to share a sweet message he got from Paul Walker’s daughter Meadow about how it all began. And his response to that particular callback was just as sweet as you’d expect.

Displayed on the Instagram accounts for both Vin Diesel and Meadow Walker, the bonds of the Fast Saga family have been shown to be as strong as anyone would imagine. And it’s all thanks to a photo that Meadow shared from the production of 2001’s The Fast and the Furious, which shows Paul Walker sitting next to Diesel. Smiling while wearing some period appropriate sunglasses, Vin Diesel added his own personal message when sharing the image for everyone, as you’ll see here:

Almost 20 years have passed since The Fast and the Furious opened in theaters, becoming the foundation that a major franchise would build itself upon. Part of the magic that bound the franchise together, even in their respective absences for the second and third installments, was the energy that Paul Walker and Vin Diesel brought to the party. After Walker’s untimely passing before the release of Furious 7, Diesel doubled down on his efforts to make sure the series he and his spiritual brother started closes on a high note.

Even more fitting is the message that started it all, which Meadow Walker also happened to share on her profile. Sending Vin Diesel that historic throwback, alongside a photo of herself wearing some stylish sunglasses, Diesel makes a comment on The Fast and the Furious photo that’s absolutely sentimental. With the release of F9 already underway in international markets and Fast 10 going into the planning phases, invoking the spirit of Paul Walker is only fitting. The series began with his involvement, and with Vin Diesel feeling his guidance even when making the eighth sequel, the conclusion of the Fast Saga will undoubtedly close Brian O’Connor’s story in a satisfying manner. And by this time next year, we might have a better view on how that pans out.

There’s still no conclusive word on when Fast 10 will arrive in theaters, but it sounds like it’ll be in production at some point in 2021. Meanwhile, F9 is on schedule for a June 25th release date, with a mission to space in clear view. Who knows where the final adventure will take Dominic Toretto and his family, as that’s a pretty huge hurdle to clear for the close of such an iconic action franchise.
