Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are truly forging their own path, both within the royal family and the world of Hollywood. After stepping away from life in England and all of the perks and pitfalls that came with their royal duties in 2020, they have continued to use royal titles while making deals within the entertainment industry and continuing their service trips in a way that has drawn concern from those in the palace.

Queen Elizabeth II made it clear that there was no way for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to cash in on private ventures while still fulfilling the obligations they had as senior working royals. Their ensuing move to the United States came with a bombshell Oprah Winfrey interview, a Netflix docuseries and a tell-all memoir from the Duke of Sussex, and their continued moves within Hollywood remain an issue, according to Richard Fitzwilliams. The royal expert told Fox News:

Netflix has been a big part of the Sussexes’ plan since moving to the U.S., but it’s seemingly been an up-and-down relationship. A year ago, it seemed negotiations had broken down on their yearslong relationship, only to see the two reach a new agreement — albeit a downgraded one — that kept them in business together. However, speculation remains that all may not be well, with the streaming giant cutting ties with Meghan Markle’s jam brand and other merchandise this year.

As for other Hollywood moves, Meghan Markle is set to return to acting with a small part in the upcoming movie Close Personal Friends and is allegedly being bombarded with offers for leading roles.

The way that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle can do this while still making service trips to places like Nigeria, Colombia and Ukraine that resemble royal engagements highlights those previously mentioned differences from what Harry’s father, brother and sister-in-law are doing as working royal members. Richard Fitzwilliams said:

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have made some major business moves in recent years. Chief among those would be their five-year partnership with Netflix, and that was signed shortly after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex decided to step back from their positions as working royals. The pair don’t have that same kind of relationship with the streamer anymore and, all the while, they allegedly have a pricey way of life to keep up. At the same, there’s the question of whether the two might leave the states and return to the UK.

How Expensive Is Prince Harry And Meghan Markle’s Lifestyle?

A recent report lays out claims in regard to just how much money the Duke and Duchess must shell out per year to maintain their household. Emily Andrews of Woman & Home calculated the costs and, in her estimation, Markle and Harry reportedly £4-5 million per. In terms of USD, that sum equates to somewhere between $5 million and little more than $6 million. It’s worth mentioning that the royals currently live in a mansion in Montecito, California and also have a staff consisting of a security detail and other employees.

This report comes after the end of a few of Markle and Prince Harry’s professional partnerships, specifically those with Netflix. It was in 2020 that the couple signed that multi-year media deal with the mega-streamer, and that partnership yielded several projects, including the much-discussed Harry & Meghan docuseries in 2022. Subsequent projects didn’t receive as much buzz, however, including the criticized lifestyle series With Love, Meghan.

It was that reported lack of public interest as well as changing business dynamics and more that reportedly prompted Netflix not to renew its exclusive partnership with Markle and Harry’s Archewell Productions and settle on a more general first-look deal instead. That decision reportedly cost the streamer a lot of money and, more recently, the company also dropped Markle’s jam brand, As Ever. Per insiders, the mood at the streaming giant is that the partnership between both sides is essentially done.

Questions remain regarding what the royals might do next. As of late, though, there have been reports regarding the prospect of Markle returning to acting. Markle – who stepped away from acting eight years ago following her engagement – even recently filmed a cameo for the MGM film Close Personal Friends. Also, both Markle and her husband have been taking on speaking engagements, and it’s believed that could be an indicator of their future.

Could Meghan Markle And Prince Harry Actually Move Back To The UK?

The notion of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex moving back to the United Kingdom doesn’t seem too far-fetched to some analysts right now. However, that seems to be far from a certainty at this point. However, at the very least, insiders claim that, at the very least, a trip to the UK may be in the cards for the couple. They’re about to embark upon speaking engagements in Australia, and a source alleges that the couple are using that as a way to test the waters for a tour in the UK. They explain to The Sun:

Markle and Harry returning to the UK in any form would be significant, especially given the familial drama that has surrounded them and the British Royal Family as a whole in recent years. As for whether or not they would move personally, it’s possible it could cut down some financial costs for them. Plus, it’s also been alleged that the pair have dropped out of their neighbors’ good graces in California due to the consistent buzz that surrounds them. Of course, all of this can only be taken with a grain of salt for now.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have had more than their share of public troubles over the years, including numerous rumors about everything from their relationship with the royals they left behind to how the bigwigs at Netflix feel about Meghan and Harry. Their contract with Netflix has been winding down for some time, and now it appears that the streamer isn’t the only one distancing itself from them, as it’s being reported that some of their neighbors are no longer aboard the Sussex train, either.

What’s Being Said About Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, And Their Neighbors

Shortly after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle left their duties as working royals behind in 2020, they did two additional things in the hope of changing their lives completely and for the better: signed a mega deal with Netflix for their Archwell production company and moved to Montecito, California. The ritzy locale is also home to stars like Jennifer Aniston (who bought Oprah’s former manse in the city), Sharon Stone, Tyler Perry, Ariana Grande, and Gwyneth Paltrow, but now it’s been alleged that things aren’t copacetic between the Sussexes and those who share the neighborhood with them.

A new report from Page Six claims that others in the area are now “avoiding them,” and that the alleged frostiness has been brewing for years, with one source noting:

Obviously, this is the type of situation where we will be unlikely to get any kind of official statement from any of their famous neighbors, but it wasn’t that long ago that actress-turned-lifestyle influencer Paltrow publicly gave Markle words of encouragement as she started her own As Ever brand of products. Then, after the former working royal launched her lifestyle series, With Love, Meghan (which you can watch with your Netflix subscription), and took tons of flak for it, the Oscar winner went viral for a video that showed her letting the Suits actress into her home and then very neighborly sharing some pie with her.

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard of a rift between Meghan, Harry and at least one of their neighbors. It was a few years ago that an 88-year-old resident claimed he was turned away at their gate while attempting to “be neighbourly” and gift the couple with some films he’d made about the area. It was around the same time that it was also reported that the couple were considering relocating to Malibu, but it seems that they’ve decided to stay put, at least for the time being.

A source close to the couple had a rebuttal to the rumors of there being issues with the parents of two and their neighbors, and simply told the outlet:

You can maintain good standing in your community without having close personal relationships with your neighbors, after all. So, hopefully, that’s true in this case.

Sources reported last July that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s deal had broken down, with both sides walking away from negotiations. However, it was later said that talks were still ongoing, though now it seems those “new deal talks” may not have been as solid as they once appeared. For a deal that once felt like a major Hollywood power move, the couple’s partnership with Netflix could be done, heading toward a very different ending than most had expected. So what really happened with their Netflix Deal?

As of late, drama has swirled around David and Victoria Beckham’s family, as they’ve apparently been engaged in a feud with their oldest son, Brooklyn, and his wife, Nicola Peltz. The situation reached a turning point just days ago when Brooklyn took to social media and made several claims against both of his parents. While all of this continues to unfold, many are weighing in, sharing their takes on what led to he Beckham’s feud and whether it can be resolved. Now, Billy Bush is speaking out and comparing it to Prince Harry’s familial status.

Billy Bush – a veteran TV personality – called the feud within the Beckham family “unfortunate” while speaking with Fox News Digital about it. During his interview, Bush also touched upon one event that’s be key element of this family strife – Brooklyn and Nicola Peltz’s wedding. The pair tied the knot in Palm Springs in 2022 and, around that same time, Peltz’s father, billionaire Nelson Peltz, filed suit against the original wedding planners. Bush commented on rumors about Nicola’s behavior at the time in relation to the Beckhams:

The Beckham/Peltz wedding came up in Brooklyn’s Instagram stories posts this week. He claimed that the night before his wedding, his relatives acted coldly towards Nicola, and Brooklyn claims his parents dislike his wife as well. In another slide, the younger Beckham also accused Victoria and David of crafting “performative social media posts” to maintain their brand. When later asked about his son’s comments, David ignored the press. Given this daughter-in-law drama, Bush sees parallels between this and Prince Harry’s drama:

Prince Harry is currently estranged from the British royal family and has been for nearly six years now. The Duke of Sussex and his wife, Meghan Markle (whom he married in 2018) made headlines in 2020 when they decided to step down from their duties as working royals. The following year would see Harry and Meghan participate in a bombshell interview with Oprah, during which they made several allegations regarding how they were treated by their relatives. The royal family later responded, saying the claims would be taken seriously.

The last few years have seen reports of continued strife between Princes William and Harry, and it’s also been alleged that King Charles has trouble trusting his son and daughter-in-law at this point. Nevertheless, there have also been rumors that the king wants to reconcile with Harry and Markle, though such a mending of fences doesn’t seem to have happened. Although Harry’s situation does seem to bear some parallels to the Brooklyn Beckham matter in Billy Bush’s eyes, also sees one key difference:

Victoria Beckham was called out several times in Brooklyn’s posts, with the latter accusing his mom of upstaging his wife when they were set to have their first dance at their wedding. Brooklyn specifically claimed Victoria danced on him in an inappropriate way in front of his guests. Those claims can only be taken with a grain of salt at this point.

While the public surely isn’t privy to all of the details involved in the Beckham family’s feud, it’s evident that two sides are not seeing eye to eye (and are even differing in how they decorate for Christmas). As for whether additional details might be shared by either party, that’s unclear. Billy Bush is of the thinking, though, that “the truth lies somewhere in the middle”.

For all the strife (whether rumored in the press or alleged in things like his tell-all memoir, Spare) that Prince Harry has undergone in his life, we’ve seen signs that the man has survived as many who’ve gone through hard things have: with his sense of humor intact. This became evident again recently when the Harry & Meghan star compared his life with the royal family to Downton Abbey.

What Did Prince Harry Say About Life With The Royals Being Like Downton Abbey?

Fame is a goal for a number of people, but when you get down to it, it appears that living a life that’s easily dissectible for strangers around the world can be a really tough row to hoe, even for the best of us. Prince Harry, of course, was born into fame as the second child of Princess Diana and now-King Charles III. While there had certainly been tough times to deal with publicly as he grew up (like the incredibly difficult and sad death of his mother), it’s possible none have been as discussed as him leaving the royal family to help protect his wife, Meghan Markle, and everything that’s come after for the couple.

When speaking at the British-American Business Council’s 65th Annual Christmas Luncheon (via People) recently, Prince Harry actually took the opportunity to let the assembled guests in on what it’s like to be a member of the royal family, by making quite the playful comparison to a beloved television drama:

Touché, my English friend. Touché. The only thing that could have made his comment better is if he’d said it in his American accent, right?

It’s hard to deny that for as much drama as we’ve seen from the monied and aristocratic Crawley clan across six seasons and three films (including one on the 2025 movie schedule), the prince’s life pretty much has them beat. I mean, yes, we saw them deal with World War I, the Spanish influenza outbreak, the start of the Great Depression, and a number of personal and political scandals, but this man felt the need to leave a large portion of his life behind for the United States and supposedly aired his and the royals “dirty laundry” to defend himself and Markle’s decision.

While it would take a long time to detail everything the Crawleys have dealt with on screen, I’d actually be hard pressed to relay every rumored, alleged, and proven aspect of Prince Harry’s royal life. And that’s with this article being on the internet, meaning that I essentially have unlimited space with which to do so!

If anything, at least he’s keeping his head above all the treacherous, gossip-filled waters with a little humor, and there’s nothing wrong with that.

Practically everybody who’s anybody was at Jeff Bezos’ and Lauren Sánchez’s $165 million mansion this weekend to celebrate Kris Jenner’s 70th birthday, with celebs like Oprah Winfrey, Martha Stewart, Mark Zuckerberg and more posing for pics with the birthday girl and the rest of the Kardashian-Jenner family members. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were also among the revelers, but a photo initially posted of the Duchess of Sussex with Kim Kardashian has mysteriously disappeared from the Instagram post.

Kim Kardashian and her mom shared plenty of star-studded photos from the huge James Bond-themed birthday celebration, so it’s understandable if fans didn’t notice that one slide went missing from one of the multiple posts. Kardashian — dressed in a sparkling purple homage to Halle Berry’s character in Die Another Day — had been pictured with Meghan Markle in one shot, but now it’s gone. (Below you can see some others though!)

The photo, which seems to have been removed from Instagram, showed the Suits alum in a black turtleneck dress, while Prince Harry — seen having a conversation with someone in the background — sported a tuxedo. Their wardrobe options fit the 007 theme well but were actually the same outfits they were pictured wearing earlier in the evening, when they attended Serena Williams’ annual Baby2Baby Gala.

The big mystery is why the photo would have been removed. Did either Kim Kardashian or Meghan Markle object to how they appeared in the pic? Did the duchess ask for it to be taken down? Whatever the reason, it seems that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s association with America’s rich and famous rubbed some the wrong way. One insider who allegedly works with the royal family told Page Six:

Could the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have asked the Kardashians to remove their photos from social media because it was a step in the wrong direction of a possible reconciliation?

It’s hard to say, because this isn’t Kim Kardashian’s first disappearing photo mystery. Just this summer she removed a bikini photo from a post about her family’s lake vacation, seemingly because it contained a Photoshop fail. In fact, that's a move she’s been pulling for years (as if fans aren’t screenshotting everything anyway).

It may have been a potential photo editing issue, an attempt to head off royal backlash, or something else altogether. Unlike at party hosts Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s wedding, phones were allegedly prohibited from Kris Jenner’s party, and sometimes celebs prefer not to be photographed.

We can’t be sure what exactly happened, but if removing the photo of Kim Kardashian and Meghan Markle was an attempt to downplay the Sussexes’ presence at the bash for any reason, I’d say the plan has backfired.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s deal with Netflix has been making headlines as of late, and not just because of their bad luck with the projects. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex recently struck a new deal with the streamer despite rumors of a rift. However, this new deal with Netflix is a downgrade from the initial overall deal they signed in 2022, and even though it’s still an exciting feat, it doesn’t seem to be all sunshine and rainbows. That seemingly became clearer as a story about the prince being late for a meeting and asking for hot chocolate made the rounds.

In a report about how Meghan and Harry have been working in Hollywood, Page Six spoke to a source who made claims about how "hopeless" they are in the workplace. They alleged:

They went on to recall how Prince Harry reportedly showed up late to a meeting with Netflix and proceeded to ask an executive for a cup of hot chocolate. Apparently, this isn’t the first time that the prince was focused on his beverage of choice.

A Spotify employee alleged to Vanity Fair earlier this year that Prince Harry came into the LA office and asked for a cup of hot chocolate too, and since there was none, the employees “scrambled” to round some up. Then, he was apparently pitched an idea to review hot chocolate every week, and he and his team rejected it.

This news comes after there have been rumors about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s troubles with Netflix. Over the summer, it was reported that Netflix might back out of its deal, partly because of Markle’s As Ever brand. Additionally, their projects have faced criticism, with people calling Markle's culinary lifestyle series "tone-deaf," for example. A source close to the couple also told THR that they are “both poor decision-makers,” with Prince Harry being an “enabler.” Meanwhile, Markle just lost another publicist.

Since Netflix wound up renewing the deal, albeit with a downgrade, the streamer seems to be on good terms with the couple. However, it's also possible that the hot chocolate and lateness are signs of or factors in the couple’s ongoing problems with Hollywood and their overall Netflix deal.

Of course, this is all rumor, and it’s not confirmed that Prince Harry showed up late to a meeting and immediately wanted hot chocolate. But, as we mentioned, this might hint at some larger issues he and Meghan Markle could be experiencing in Hollywood when it comes to their businesses.

Prince Harry has been living in the United States for several years, relocating from the U.K. with wife Meghan Markle and building a life together in California with their kids and a Netflix deal. Settling into life on the American side of the pond doesn't necessarily mean that Harry has mastered the art of the American accent, and The Daily Show vet Hasan Minhaj had some fun with his attempts to say "Applebee's." Personally, I've now discovered that it's impossible to just watch the video once. To quote Harry: "Yee-haw!"

The royal joined Minhaj on the Hasan Minhaj Doesn't Know podcast to talk about serious topics like social media and A.I., but the duo had some laughs as well when the host came up with "the most American sentence I could think of" to test Harry's skills with the accent. Harry clearly knows the U.S. well enough to know that there are many different kinds of accents within the country, but... well, I'm not sure his accent really fits with any of them. Take a look:

Was this perhaps revenge for all the times that Prince Harry has likely heard Americans butchering an English accent? He actually didn't sound that bad, as far as I'm concerned, but I also don't think he'd pass for somebody who grew up in the U.S. without some more practice on enunciating "ranch," "breadsticks," and "Applebee's."

Maybe Hasan Minhaj needs to have some Applebee's snacks on hand if he ever wants to try this experiment on Harry again. It does seem safe to say that even though he lost the Daily Show hosting gig, he still knows his way around bantering with a guest in front of a camera. As for Harry, he's spent plenty of time in the spotlight in the U.S. due to the Netflix deal and the release of the controversial Spare, although he hasn't had a huge role on With Love, Meghan in the 2025 TV schedule.

That said, one of my favorite parts of the video was at the very beginning, when Prince Harry immediately started looking nervous when he learned that Hasan Minhaj had a sentence prepared for Harry to say on camera. He responded:

That said, I think the funniest part of the video was when it became clear that even though Hasan Minhaj was successfully keeping a straight face, the off-camera crew was cracking up at Harry's attempts. The prince attempted to look on the bright side of the crew laughing at him:

Honestly, Harry's off-the-cuff "Yee-haw!" and "Come on, y'all!" sounded the most believably American, so maybe he just needs to not put too much thought into it before giving it a shot. As one commenter on the Instagram post noted, asking "which part of America" is a "great follow up question." A Midwesterner is going to sound different from a Southerner, for example!

As for Applebee's, the restaurant chain of course hit up the comment section to pitch an idea to improve Prince Harry's pronunciation:

Forget ranch dressing and breadsticks – maybe what Prince Harry needs to really nail the American vibe is to indulge in a $1 margarita or two from Applebee's. Considering that the restaurant chain basically got a free commercial out of this segment, though, maybe those Dollaritas should be on the house.

In all seriousness, Hasan Minhaj getting Prince Harry to declare love for Applebee's was a random bit of fun that I didn't know I needed, so I'll probably be rewatching it another time or two before the end of the day.

Along with her lifestyle series, With Love, Meghan, premiering on the 2025 TV schedule, Meghan Markle has been working on her brand, As Ever. The company sells things like fruit spread, honey, tea and more. It also has a small line of candles. One of them even smells like the Duchess of Sussex’s Royal Wedding, and it has the perfect name to highlight that fact.

Meghan Markle Is Now Selling A Candle That Smells Like Her Royal Wedding

As Ever was created by Markle and highlights her “long-lasting love of cooking, entertaining, and hostessing with ease.” Primarily, it emphasizes her love for “jams, preserves, and fruit spreads,” however, now they sell other products, like candles, too. And recently, the Suits actress released a $64 candle called “Signature Candle No. 519,” and it was made to honor her wedding to Prince Harry.

In the description for “Signature Candle No. 519,” it explains that this product is As Ever's signature scent, and represents “love at first light.” It also reveals that the product was fully inspired by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s wedding day:

Turning that description into a smell, No. 519 has “grounding notes of Moroccan mint leaf, white tea leaves, and a back note of woodsy cardamom.” It’s also explained that this fragrance is meant to evoke “the freshness of a day in the English countryside, a long walk in the garden, and a spirit of happiness that is hard to resist.”

Now, there’s been a fair number of rumors about the drama that happened behind the scenes of Markle’s wedding. She and Prince Harry also now live in California, away from the other royals, and these days, Prince Harry’s relationship with his family is rocky.

However, this product highlights the happiness and joy that came with that royal wedding. I remember the Suits cast congratulating her on the day, and I remember how gorgeous the ceremony was. Plus, now, Meghan and Harry have been married for seven years and have two kids. So, this candle is a sweet way to commemorate one of the biggest days of their lives.

Emily Robinson joined the Sussexes’ team as Meghan Markle’s director of communications in June after previously doing publicity for Netflix. It was announced last week that she was already leaving the position, with a spokesperson for the duchess telling US Weekly:

The move comes soon after other changes to their communications staff and after years of turnover. In July, it was reported that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle cut ties with their entire comms team in an effort to save money.

It’s unclear if Emily Robinson’s exit is related to the future of With Love, Meghan. Meghan Markle remained coy regarding the future of the lifestyle series that aired two seasons on the 2025 TV schedule — one in March and one in August, which can be streamed with a Netflix subscription. Earlier this month at a Forbes panel, she said of a potential Season 3:

The latest departure in the Sussexes’ staff follows a big shakeup this summer, when the couple’s Los Angeles-based deputy press secretary Kyle Boulia and UK press officer Charlie Gipson left alongside two other members of their private team.

Archewell’s director of communications Deesha Tank and head of operations Lianne Cashin also departed, in addition to Meghan Markle’s social media manager and a personal assistant.

Last year, Ashley Hansen exited her role as global press secretary and head of communications, per People, in order to launch her own firm. Two of the duchess’ former publicists — James Holt and Miranda Bardot — did not leave but rather were promoted to non-public relations roles.

There’s been much speculation, articles and even a book about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s treatment of their staff. Valentine Low has reportedly spoken to many former employees who allegedly say they’ve been bullied. Low recalls the “very fragile state” of his sources, as he said even more than two years after leaving their positions, they allegedly remained afraid of Meghan Markle’s “capacity for revenge.”

The duchess’ team has firmly rejected Valentine Low’s claims, saying the author “continues to desperately recycle false, offensive, and long-discredited allegations in an apparent bid to sell books and resuscitate relevance.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have seen a lot of change since relocating to the United States, so we’ll have to wait and see what’s next for the couple. in the meantime, both seasons of With Love, Meghan along with the Sussexes other shows, are still available to stream on Netflix.

Prince Harry admitted there probably have been times when he didn’t look cheerful, due to the stress of what his family has been through, what’s come out through the lawsuits and the online hate Meghan Markle receives.

He said he thinks there’s a disconnect between how he is portrayed in the media and how the British public sees him, and even though he feels he’s “been destroyed by certain members of the British press,” he trusts that the people “can speak and think for themselves.”

The duke’s memoir may have increased friction between him and his father and brother — William and Harry remain estranged despite reported “reconciliation efforts” — but Princess Diana’s younger son doesn’t regret writing Spare, because he said it serves to correct many stories that were already out there.

Only time will tell if Prince Harry can mend his relationships with his family, and in the meantime maybe we shouldn’t jump to conclusions if we see photos of the Duke of Sussex looking “miserable.”

Not only will the aforementioned streaming service remain in business with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Archwell Productions banner, but it’s also partnering with Markle’s lifestyle brand, As Ever. While addressing her and her husband’s deal, Markle expressed excitement about what the future could hold:

This actually isn’t the first time that a high-profile couple has gone from having an overall deal to a first-look designation with Netflix. Barack and Michelle Obama had the same change made to their own agreement with the streamer in regard to their Higher Ground production label. For his book, Low – a veteran royal correspondent – says he spoke with former members of the aforementioned royal couple’s staff. Low also broke the news in a news article written for The Times. While appearing on Kinsey Schofield Unfiltered (as seen on YouTube), the author provided a bit more information about his talks with ex-staffers, describing them as being “very nervous” and “very fragile”:

They referred to the allegations from the staffers as “harmful gossip” and shared the following set of comments:

At this point in time, Valentine Low isn’t the only person who’s spoken about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry (who remain estranged from their royal relatives) in a negative light this year. The early days of the 2025 TV schedule brought those with a Netflix subscription what might now be the last program formed from the partnership between the streamer and the Sussexes, the hotly contested home entertaining show With Love, Meghan. That series (which saw Meghan Markle launch herself into the celeb lifestyle influencer marketplace occupied by the likes of Martha Stewart and Gwyneth Paltrow) has now been revealed to have placed below several seasons of Suits, the former actress’ legal drama, right as we’re hearing that the multi-year, multi-million dollar deal will be allowed to lapse when the contract expires in September.

This report comes courtesy of The Sun, which spoke with an insider who claims that part of the reason the deal (allegedly worth a total of $100 million) will be scrapped is because Markle has made her As Ever brand her top project, as opposed to creating programming for the streaming service. That source claimed:

Late 2022 saw the couple and streaming service launch the first part of Harry & Meghan, the docuseries which saw the Duke and Duchess of Sussex detail their experience as a couple while they were still working members of the British royal family. The revelations held within that and part two of the doc included many allegations of bad behavior on the part of the press and royals, and while it was certainly popular in terms of viewership, it proved just as controversial as much of what the couple has done.

This was hardly the only program planned for Netflix, but all of them have been embattled in one way or another. While Markle’s lifestyle series had to delay its premiere because of the L.A. wildfires, their animated show, Pearl, was axed before it could even really get off the ground, the extreme delay for Heart of Invictus led many to think it had also been canceled before it could air (it wasn’t), and their other shows (Live to Lead, Polo) barely made a dent when it came to viewers. The source, however, noted that there are no hard feeling for either party, adding:

Shortly after With Love debuted, Netflix’s co-CEO Ted Sarandos said that they were still working with the duo because he felt “Meghan is underestimated in terms of her influence on culture,” and added that he thought she and Harry have been “overly dismissed.” While there’s been no confirmation that the deal really won’t be re-upped, there have also been claims that the regal marrieds are also now attempting to save money by cutting their personal full-time PR staff, along with many who handled things for their various brands, and are instead employing a PR firm. Potentially speaking to that, the insider said:

We’ll just have to wait and see if we are bound to see Harry and Meghan in any upcoming Netflix projects, whether their partnership with Netflix is continued or not.

Apparently, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are making moves to save money. Since they moved to the US and became estranged from the Royal Family, it’s been reported that they’ve let some of their staff go in an effort to cut costs. Now, it would appear that a few more people who worked for the couple are no longer employed by them.

The exits also included Markle’s social media manager and a personal assistant.

Notably, Emily Robinson is their only other in-house rep, and she hired Method Communications to help. An industry expert commented on that choice, too, saying:

Now, at the time of this writing, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Netflix deal is set to end this year. Allegedly, it’s worth about $20 million as opposed to the reported $100 million some thought it was worth. It also noted that while they had hits with their docuseries Harry & Meghan and With Love, Meghan, those with a Netflix subscription didn’t tune in as much to Heart of Invictus and Polo.

It was also reported a year ago that Markle was struggling to get Netflix projects off the ground, and the couple lost their deal with Spotify in June 2023.

According to the story, these kinds of developments could make covering costs harder. The couple travels a lot, they own a very expensive home in Montecito that they reportedly paid $14.65 million for, they reportedly have to pay for part of their “faux foreign tours,” and their annual security bill is allegedly around $2 million.

So, there are a lot of costs for them to cover. Whether this has anything to do with their staff departures is unconfirmed.

The report also notes that while some of this might have been to save money, there are also claims that suggest the couple might be difficult to work with.

According to one insider, these developments aren’t surprising, because they’ve had high turnover among their staff, they claimed:

All around, there seem to be a lot of factors playing into this situation. While we don’t have a confirmed why, we do know that more members of their staff have reportedly been cut.

The guest list for Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s wedding was long and filled with A-list celebrities and public figures. From the Kardashians to Bill Gates to Sydney Sweeney, the range of attendees was wide. However, there were also many prominent people who weren’t there. This included Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, and apparently, the Duchess of Sussex is not happy about not getting an invite.

There’s a rumor going around that Meghan Markle is apparently “seething” over not receiving an invitation. Allegedly, she really wanted one, and she is now “reeling” because they couldn’t go. An insider elaborated more on this claim with Radar Online, saying:

Apparently, the Suits actress thinks she and Prince Harry deserved an invitation. This source claims she thinks they’re more prominent than other guests who were at the wedding.

We saw the whole Kardashian family at the ceremony. However, apparently, only Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian were invited at first. Reportedly, the mother of the Kardashian-Jenner siblings stepped in and convinced the couple to let the whole family come.

Over the wedding weekend, there were also reports about Leonardo DiCaprio and his girlfriend being in Venice for the festivities. Sydney Sweeney was also at Bezos and Sánchez’s celebration, allegedly, because she’s making a blockbuster for Amazon MGM Studios. The guest list included Oprah Winfrey, Gayle King, Tom Brady and more, too.

Meanwhile, Charlize Theron wasn’t invited and spoke out about it, saying that it was OK “because they suck.” Now, if this rumor about the royal couple is true, Markle has the opposite opinion about not getting invited.

Allegedly, the Duchess of Sussex is jealous of Sánchez, which reportedly played into her feelings about her lack of invitation, as the source claimed:

For years now, there have been countless reports about the Royal Family not talking to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Along with that, the projects Harry and Meghan have released since moving to the United States have been met with turbulent discourse.

Back in January, Markle spoke about the flak she receives online on the Aspire with Emma Grede podcast. She explained that she works to set boundaries and noted that it's good to get to a place where “you don’t feel as though you have to explain yourself.” At this point, she hasn't said anything about the wedding.

So, take this latest rumor with a grain of salt. As I said, as of right now, Meghan Markle has not directly commented on the wedding and why she wasn’t there. As we learn more about this situation, though, we’ll keep you posted.

What’s Being Said About The Current Relationship Between Prince Harry And Prince William?

It would be fair to say that most of what we’ve heard over the past half decade about the relationship of Prince William and Prince Harry has been “hard and sad.” Even Harry, after settling in Montecito, California with Markle and their kids, has made a number of troubling allegations about his family’s behavior toward himself and his wife in a revealing interview with Oprah, along with both their Harry & Meghan docuseries and his memoir, Spare.

Recent months, however, have seen the couple focus more on the future and new endeavors instead of looking back. Not only did the former Suits actress’ lifestyle series (which you can watch with your Netflix subscription) show a lighter side to her and (briefly) her husband, the Duchess of Sussex returned to social media at the start of the year, and has been giving fans a more relaxed look at their lives. As royal commentator Amanda Matta told Us Weekly about Harry:

The Duke of Sussex has, of course, spoken out against the press many times in the past. He’s been involved in several lawsuits against various media outlets, including the publisher of the Daily Mail which was accused of using illegal methods like wire-tapping phone hacking to gain information about their subjects. Harry has noted that tabloids, in particular, had “largely deprived” him of his childhood and youth because of the mistrust caused, and part of the reason that the Sussexes left the U.K. and their royal life behind was because of “bullying” Markle received in the press, along with online flak about everything they do.

We’ve heard before that the relationship between Harry and William has gotten so bad that they would likely need a sort of “intervention” to help them get through all of their issues. Richard Fitzwilliams, a royal expert, told the outlet that the brothers apparently not being on the same page also had practical implications for William, who is next in line for the throne. As he said:

It does make sense that the (rather new) Prince of Wales would have assumed for most of his life that his little brother would essentially be right by his side to pick up any slack or maybe even help him make decisions. At the very least, he likely thought that his sibling would always be a working royal who could attend events on behalf of the crown, but now that’s not the case. William, though, is still taking his public duty to heart, while building in more time to relax away from prying eyes. Matta said:

It seems like it’s been very easy for people to forget that for all their privilege and responsibility, the royals are also human beings with their own needs, wants, and the desire to have at least some of their lives take place privately. While the prince is now closer than ever to taking the throne, maybe seeing how his brother responded to increased scrutiny encouraged him to step back just enough here and there, so that he’ll never feel that a complete separation from royal life is necessary. Meanwhile, Harry is still working on his second act, and both, according to Matta, on going on with the new normal without constant “conflict:”

Considering everything that’s been said and the trust that’s reportedly been broken on both sides, I don’t think anyone can imagine a real reconciliation or return to royal life for Harry and Meghan coming any time soon.

That detail is now said to be something of a sticking point for 42-year-old Prince William. A source for InTouch claims that the heir apparent to the British throne now wishes he would’ve completely broken with his brother and sister-in-law sooner:

Friction amongst the royals was revealed during the Sussexes’ bombshell 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey. The couple alleged that the family made racially insensitive comments in regard to their yet-to-be-born son, Archie (and the family later said the claims would be “taken very seriously.”) Other accusations were made by Prince Harry in his 2023 memoir, Spare, including the claim that Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton, helped him decide on that infamous Nazi costume he wore to a party. Sources alleged that William had strong feelings about the book and said that the text would prolong the estrangement.

The continued feud taking place within the British Royal Family has garnered responses from various individuals, and that’s not just counting royal experts. For instance, Jason Knauf, an ex-aide to Princes William and Harry, expressed sadness over the rift in the brothers’ relationship. As for a potential reconciliation, the latest claims from William give the impression that he’s not looking to patch things up with his brother anytime soon.

When looking back at where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s relationship with the royal family started to sour, the Sussexes’ wedding seems to be a point of contention. By all accounts, there were issues with Princess Charlotte’s flower girl dress not fitting, leading to a spat that left one or both of the women in tears. Now, a new biography gives a different perspective, saying that what was reported isn’t what happened.

What A New Biography Says About Meghan Markle And Kate Middleton’s Argument

The story that circulated following the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s 2018 wedding was that Prince William’s wife had reached out to Meghan Markle about her daughter’s dress not fitting, and that the Suits actress’ response had left Kate Middleton in tears. Markle claimed the opposite.

However, a royal staff member quoted in the new biography Yes, Ma'am: The Secret Life of Royal Servants by Tom Quinn says the argument wasn’t one-sided, revealing (via Newsweek):

Contrary to what has been reported and what Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have each said, it was not a case of one royal attacking the other, but rather both women getting upset as they each allegedly said things while emotions were running high.

Meghan Markle And Prince Harry Gave Different Accounts

That not only goes against what was reported in the press, but also what the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have said since stepping away from their royal duties. In their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, Meghan Markle disputed the story that she had made Kate Middleton cry, claiming, “the reverse happened,” and the now-Princess of Wales had apologized and sent her flowers afterward.

Prince Harry’s corroboration of his wife’s version of the story was among the allegations in his memoir Spare, saying he found Meghan “on the floor sobbing” after her exchange with his sister-in-law.

So if it’s true that both royal wives were reduced to tears, how did the story become altered when it hit the papers? The staff member quoted in Yes Ma’am addressed that, too, saying:

Meghan Markle has said the whole incident was a “turning point” in her relationship with Kate Middleton. So, it’s not really surprising that this incident is used to represent the overall strife within the family.

This new book comes amid reports that Meghan Markle has continued to use her royal title since moving back to the United States and that Prince William plans to put an end to that when he becomes king. It also seems that the royal family isn’t speaking to Prince Harry and his wife.

Prince Harry doesn’t trust that his family’s safety is a concern for the palace, while the royals don’t know if everything they say will end up in another tell-all exposé or Netflix miniseries.

As of late, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been wrapped up in yet another controversy. This particular situation involves a charity event sponsored by Sentebale, the African-based charity founded by the prince. Dr. Sophie Chandauka, the organization’s ex-chairwoman, has since severed ties with the Duke of Sussex and has been talking about the issues she had with both him and Markle. Dr. Chandauka’s disdain has specifically revolved around a specific event, and an insider has now provided further claims about it.

What Allegedly Happened During The Charity Event?

The aforementioned event was a charity polo fundraiser, and Dr. Chandauka and Prince Harry reportedly came into conflict over the chosen venue, As she recently alleged, the location had to be shifted, because the Prince wanted to film on location amid the festivities. Said production is reportedly part of the royals’ deal with Netflix. Ultimately, Harry was able to use his connections to land a new location for what the doctor says would become a “commercial venture.”

When the event was ultimately held on April 12, 2024, the situation was complicated by the unexpected arrival of Meghan Markle, who brought along a celebrity friend who’s since been identified as tennis legend Serena Williams. Apparently, the proceedings became somewhat awkward due to Markle’s presence, and an oddly staged photo was reportedly taken at some point during the event as well.

At this point, Dr. Chandauka has accused the Duke of Sussex and his PR team of bullying her due to their disagreements. And, if the aforementioned insider is to be believed, there’s a bit more drama involving the interpersonal relationships between the people involved in this matter as well as other details.

How Does Meghan Markle Reportedly Feel About Dr. Chandauka, And How Did Things Go Down At The Charity Event?

The source claims to The U.S. Sun that “the problem, though, started with Meghan” and that Meghan doesn’t like Sophie.” Given that purported animosity between the two, it’s alleged that they didn’t get along all that well while at the polo event. It’s claimed that after Markle arrived with her “famous friend,” she didn’t cooperate with Chandauka’s wishes:

In March, both Prince Harry and Prince Seeiso of Lesotho – who co-founded Sentebale in honor of their mothers – jointly announced their decision to leave the organization. They attributed that choice to the conflict between the board of trustees and Dr. Chandauka, who’s been accused of exhibiting “untenable” leadership methods.

What Other Situations Are The Duke And Duchess Of Sussex Currently Facing?

So far, this year, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have received backlash amid the LA wildfires, during which they met with displaced citizens who’d lost their homes. Actress Justine Bateman accused them of being “disaster tourists” and claimed they were merely looking for a “photo op.” At the same time, Markle also delayed the premiere of her Netflix, With Love, Meghan, amid the fires, with some believing it to be “tone deaf” of her to keep the original date. The series has since continued to receive backlash, with Markle getting real on the subject.

All the while, reports indicate that the Duke and Duchess remain mostly estranged from much of the British Royal family. Former aide Jason Knauf recently spoke on the supposed feud between Princes William and Harry, calling the situation both “hard and sad.”

When it comes to the claims leveled by Dr. Sophie Chandauka against Prince Harry and co., it remains unclear as to whether the former charity head will move forward with legal action. As for the claims the insider made about the event, those should be taken with a grain of salt.

Ultimately, though, with Prince Harry’s connections, the charity was able to find another venue. Yet that was supposedly only the beginning of the collaboration strain tied to this event.

How Did Meghan Markle's Unexpected Arrival Play A Role In This?

After the venue situation was sorted out, more complications apparently arose. Dr. Chandauka alleges that Markle arrived unannounced at the polo event with a celebrity friend. This resulted in an awkwardly choreographed picture taken on stage. The charity head said it looked strange because she wasn’t expecting Markle to be there. Said awkwardness was heavily reported on by the press, and Markle’s alleged attitude towards Dr. Chandauka ended up overshadowing the entire event.

After Markle received this backlash for the clunky charity moment, Dr. Chandauka claimed that Prince Harry asked her to make a statement of support towards his wife, which the chair refused to do. She explained:

Dr. Chandauka also lamented that the Sussexes seemed to be doing more harm than good to the charity due to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s reputation and controversial public image. She additionally alleged that Harry was trying to oust her from the charity and made claims about his poor attendance at meetings for the organization. The Duke of Sussex released a statement denying this and the bullying allegations. Harry claimed that Dr. Chandauka was the one doing damage to the charity for her own self interest.

This story still seems to be evolving, with a clear back and forth here. What seems to be evident, though, is that Prince Harry and Dr. Chandauka’s working relationship is damaged. On the whole, this latest matter comes on the heels of toxic media attention the Sussexes have received in the last few years. As for whether this conflict persists, that remains to be seen. As for the new project the Duke and Duchess are producing for Netflix subscription holders, it remains to be seen if it'll do more harm than good.

We all know Netflix was the streaming seedling that changed the way most of the world consumes media. Today, it remains one of the top and best subscription services out there, and it knows what it wants. For example, the company continues to partner with The Duke and Duchess of Sussex. To that point, despite many discrediting Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s watchable projects (including the one that premiered on Netflix's 2025 schedule), the co-CEO of the megastreamer, Ted Sarandos, shared why they continue to work with the royals, and Hermès came up in his explanation.

As the company turns 25, Sarandos talked with Variety about the long-standing platform’s legacy. The conversation included his small stint in Seth Rogen’s upcoming Apple TV+ series The Studio (releasing March 26 on the 2025 TV schedule), streaming wars, and Netflix projects that are hot topics, including Stranger Things and its partnership with Harry and Meghan.

Most recently, the streamer released With Love, Meghan. However, it's been met with criticism. Even with it getting delayed because of the LA fires, its pre and post-release discourse and the dynamics of familial relations, though, the studio isn’t moving away from the partnership. The exec believes the couple, and specifically Meghan, is overlooked in terms of her sway on trends and culture, specifically noting items she owns that sold out after they went viral:

The recently released series has had a string of viral and critical moments too. However, not everyone hates With Love, Meghan. While the project has been picked apart by many since its initial announcement, some people are starting to speak up. This conversation has led to pointing out that people like Martha Stewart or Ina Garten don’t get flack for similar content.

So, the streamer and those who have come to defend the actress have some fair points. Since she joined ranks with the royal family, she’s had people seeking out everything about her from her personal interests to her style. And there's proof of people vying after her fashion in the new series, with Mindy Kaling asking the hostess about her outfit details.

Overall, I totally understand why this is a good deal for Netflix to have and why they keep it. Whether you love them, hate them or feel indifferent about them, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are a major part of the zeitgeist and there are many who care about their lives and want to see them on their screens.

Meghan Markle and Mindy Kaling have both had new series hit the 2025 Netflix calendar recently, but despite Running Point getting decent reviews and a second-season order, and the controversy that caused With Love, Meghan to delay its release, there’s only thing people want to talk about. That, of course, is the viral clip of Markle correcting Kaling on her name, and now a body language expert has weighed in with his take.

Before marrying Prince Harry, Meghan Markle was an actress best known for her role on Suits (which is also available to stream with a Netflix subscription), so I don’t think it was too surprising to hear MIndy Kaling refer to her by her professional name on an episode of With Love, Meghan. The duchess, however, was quick to correct her, pointing out that her last name is Sussex. Body language expert Darren Stanton, speaking on behalf of Betfair Slots, noticed a couple of things about this interaction:

One can understand Meghan Markle’s reasoning behind wanting to be called “Sussex,” as she told Mindy Kaling how much it meant to her to share a last name with her children Archie and Lilibet. However, the body language expert’s opinion that she's so proud and accepting of her royal status is a bit more unexpected.

Meghan Markle has been a controversial figure within the royal family, and she and Prince Harry opened up to Oprah about their decision to step away from their royal duties in 2020. Even from their home in Los Angeles, they continue to draw criticism worldwide for their actions and comments in projects like their Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan and Harry’s revelatory memoir Spare.

As for pride in her family and pride for her husband and children, I definitely can see that. The Suits alum’s reaction was so quick when Mindy Kaling marveled at the fact that Meghan Markle likes Jack in the Box (and yes, Jack in the Box wasted no time in capitalizing on that name-drop). The duchess laughed as she responded:

When Mindy Kaling got asked about it on The View (because of course Mindy Kaling got asked about it on The View), she recalled having a great time filming with Meghan and said she didn’t even remember that awkward interaction.

I’m sure Mindy Kaling’s not likely to forget that exchange again, though, and if you want to witness the moment that will live in infamy, With Love, Meghan, as well as Running Point, Harry & Meghan and Suits, are all great shows to binge on Netflix.

Suits LA is now airing amid the 2025 TV schedule, and although the premiere received mixed reactions from fans, there's still much for franchise devotees to look forward to. Most notably, franchise OG Gabriel Macht is reprising his role as Harvey Specter for a few upcoming episodes, leading many to hope that other familiar faces might pop in. I, for one, would love it if Meghan Markle cameoed as Rachel Zane, but is it strange that I mostly just want that to happen so that we get another on-set story involving Prince Harry?

Meghan Markle left Suits due to her engagement to Prince Harry. During her tenure on the USA Network drama, Harry actually visited her on the set in Toronto when he was in town for the 2017 Invictus Games. A crew member said, at the time, that the Duke kept saying how proud he was of Markle and that he was “curious about how it all works." That vibe apparently also rung true for the Duchess' new lifestyle show, With Love, Meghan (which is now available for Netflix subscription holders). A production member told People Harry served as a sweet BTS presence:

It's wonderful to hear how supportive Prince Harry is and how he’s always been in his partner's corner. Meghan Markle’s new lifestyle show, which was initially delayed due to the LA wildfires, sees the former actress hosting friends as they cook and garden together. The show offers an intimate look into Markle's domestic life. While Harry seemingly shied away from being in front of the camera and let Markle shine, it sounds like he was close by whenever his wife needed him, and that's just so lovely.

That being said, I wouldn’t necessarily care either way if Markle showed up on Suits LA as Rachel. But, if she were to do so, I'd just love the prospect of her hubby showing up to support her on set. Since the two do live in the Los Angeles area, it would be possible for the actress to briefly show up and for her husband to accompany her to set. Call me a romantic, but I just swoon over the thought of the Duke cheering on his wife amid production.

At the very least, whether or not Meghan Markle appears on LA, Prince Harry does appear during the final episode of With Love, Meghan. That moment is brief, but I'll certainly take that over no appearance from the royal at all. While it's been a struggle to get Netflix projects off the ground in some cases, I wouldn't be surprised if these two share the screen again at some point. Let's hope that if that happens, they'll produce even more cute BTS anecdotes.

On that note, let's hope the producers of Suits LA see fit to reach out to Meghan Markle about a cameo (if they haven't already). For now, though, fans can watch new episodes of the spinoff series on Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on NBC or stream them the next day with a Peacock subscription.

The British Royal Family has made headlines frequently in recent years, with a sum of that being attributable to reports of strife within their ranks. In particular, much has been said about the relationship between brothers Prince William and Prince Harry. Based on what’s been reported, the turning point for the two siblings was when Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, announced plans to take a step back from their duties as senior members of the family. Now, a former aide is addressing the feud assumptions.

Jason Knauf served as an aide and communications secretary for both princes and their wives, before stepping down from his position in 2021. While working for the royals, he became particularly close with William and his wife, Catherine, Princess of Wales. Knauf opened up about his experiences during an interview conducted by 60 Minutes Australia (which is on YouTube). When discussing the alleged rift between Harry and William, Knauf spoke acknowledged family conflicts generally while explaining why he wouldn’t say much:

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, announced their plans to step back from their roles as working royals in 2020. At that time, the decision was met with a myriad of responses. Since then, Harry and Meghan have opened up about their choice in multiple settings, with one being their 2021 bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey. During that chat, the couple made claims of second-hand comments regarding the skin tone of their then-unborn son Archie and claimed they were cut off from the Royal Family financially. Harry also discussed his relationship with his family in his memoir, Spare, while he and Markle made more accusations in their Netflix docuseries, Harry & Meghan.

Following the Oprah interview, the royals responded via a statement shared by a spokesperson. It was said that the family was “saddened to learn the extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan.” Per the statement, the race-related accusations were “taken very seriously” and would be “addressed by the family in private.”

Jason Knauf found himself wrapped up in the alleged feud back in 2018. At that point, Knauf submitted a complaint regarding Markle allegedly bullying junior staff members. The Duchess’ legal team ultimately denied the claims. Knauf’s email with those concerns leaked in 2021 shortly before the Oprah interview, and he received media attention as a result. He also provided evidence in a privacy case between Markle and a British news outlet.

In the years since, royal insiders have asserted that both Princes William and Harry have been exchanged, with the latter also not maintaining contact with their father, King Charles. Harry did attend his father’s coronation ceremony, though he apparently didn’t stay too long for pleasantries with his relatives, and he also returned home after his father’s cancer diagnosis.

Whether or not the two princes might eventually mend their relationship remains to be seen. It has been reported, though, that Prince Harry and King Charles are willing to let bygones be bygones. Harry himself even acknowledged a reconciliation, saying that he’d like to have both his father and brother back in his life. As for Jason Knauf, he seems intent on respecting William’s wishes to keep the specifics of his current relationship with Harry private.

By this point, it would be pretty unlikely that someone who pays attention to pop culture doesn’t know who John Mulaney is. Even if you didn’t happen to know any cool facts about his time with Saturday Night Live (and have never watched any of his great musical skits on the series), you will probably, if nothing else, know that he’s an amazing comedian who can seemingly be funny anywhere and anytime. Now we’ve been made aware of him managing to roast himself, Netflix, and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle with just two sentences.

How Did John Mulaney Roast Himself, Netflix And Meghan Markle And Prince Harry?

Anyone who’s been one of SNL’s head writers will likely be known for a number of hilarious jokes, and John Mulaney is no different. In fact, his time as a professional laugh-maker has now led to his own talk show, which you’ll be able to watch with your Netflix subscription, titled Everybody’s Live with John Mulaney. He was promoting the 2025 TV schedule debut at the Next on Netflix event recently (via The Hollywood Reporter), and was able to take a huge dig at not just himself, his new show and its streaming home, but threw the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in for good measure, and noted about Everybody’s Live:

OOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHH. Slam! So, the Kid Gorgeous comedian’s new show is basically a continuation of his game-changing 2024 talk show, John Mulaney Presents: Everybody’s in L.A, which aired six episodes for the Netflix Is a Joke Festival. His new series is currently set to run for 12 weeks, and will host not just the traditional celebrity talk show guests, but those from wide-ranging fields, live calls from viewers, actor Richard Kind and the food service robot, Saymo, with the latter two having appeared on the previous version of his show.

If you’re wondering how this “really fun experiment” is anything like the deal that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle struck with Netflix, well, get ready. It was shortly after the former working royals left the family to pursue life in the United States that they signed a deal with the streaming giant to produce programming that eventually led to their popular but reviled docu-series Harry & Meghan, and other documentaries like Polo and Heart of Invictus (which appears to have had a longer-than-expected road to the screen).

However, the multi-year deal (which was rumored to be worth about $100 million) has seen few clear winners, only four series have aired at this point, with one, an animated children’s show named Pearl, canceled well before viewers got a chance to see any of it. Along with that, neither of the Sussexes had any proven experience with creating series or movies, so Mulaney seems to be saying that the experimentation involved was handing a lot of money to people who possibly didn’t know enough about how to use it as promised with their deal.

And, that’s not all. Mulaney’s show is set to hit the 2025 Netflix schedule on March 12…which just happens to be a week ahead of the date that Markle’s new lifestyle series, With Love, Meghan (which has already been slammed by one royal expert), is now set to premiere after being delayed because of the devastating Los Angeles wildfires.

Honestly, if John Mulaney and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle continue to have so much in common, I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t talk about their surprising similarities in his next comedy special.

Among them are the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s media ventures, including their deal with Netflix to produce original content. Markle’s most recent production is the show With Love, Meghan, which she opted to delay amid the 2025 TV schedule due to the Los Angeles wildfires. Now, a collaborator is sharing what they appreciate about Markle and Harry’s small-screen work.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s lives and careers were highlighted in a cover story from Vanity Fair, with the news outlet speaking to more than a few of the people in their inner circle. One such person the news outlet spoke to was Jane Marie, who worked on audio projects with the couple under their Archwell Productions banner. Archwell Productions’ latest endeavor is somewhat different, as With Love, Meghan is a lifestyle series that greatly focuses on the former Suits star. The series will see Markle providing guidance in regard to working in the kitchen, garden and more. Celebrity guest stars like Mindy Kaling, Roy Choi and Abigail Spencer also appear and engage in conversations with the eponymous host. Several pundits critiqued the series, which was set to debut on January 15, with Meghan McCain calling it “tone deaf.”

Meghan Markle’s motives for delaying the show were questioned, though she and Prince Harry – who live in California – subsequently sought to provide aid to those impacted by the LA fires. Despite the backlash, a royal photographer opined that Markle made the right decision and suggested that it could help her image. Regardless of any of that, she and Harry still seem to have their share of fans as well as people who appreciate how they approach their TV projects.

With Love, Meghan will now debut on March 4 and will be available to Netflix subscription holders. And, of course, that same membership will also allow you to access Archwell Productions’ other shows.

However, one royal expert has now revealed the reason that Middleton might be willing to reconcile before too much longer.

Why Kate Middleton Might Be Willing To Reconcile With Prince Harry And Meghan Markle

Even though leaving fully royal life has, ostensibly, given Prince Harry and Meghan Markle more of the freedom they said they wanted and should have alleviated many of the pressures of being seen as leaders, they’ve still been under a tremendous amount of scrutiny.

And, because of their desire to tell their side of the story behind why they made the choice they did (through things like their bombshell Oprah interview, Netflix’s intense Harry & Meghan docuseries, and the prince’s allegation-filled memoir, Spare) that’s led to a lot more scrutiny for the rest of the royals, as well, and a lot of hurt feelings and anger have caused a two-way rift between the Sussexes and William and his wife, particularly. Now, though, royal reporter Katie Nicholl has told The Sun that William is still “very angry,” adding:

Harry and Markle, of course, infamously alleged that some people in the royal family made racist comments about the former Suits actress, as well as questioning what the tone of their son, Archie’s, skin would be like before he was born. That eventually led many to point the racism finger at Middleton and King Charles. The Duke of Sussex also claimed in his book that his brother and Middleton were involved in his controversial decision to wear a Nazi costume to a party back in 2005. Nicholl continued:

And, why might Middleton be closer to a reconciliation than her husband is right now, you ask? Well, it supposedly has everything to do with the particularly rough year that she’s had, as Nicholl explained:

The very early months of 2024 saw Middleton skip numerous official occasions, which led to a lot of rumors about why she hadn’t been seen. Late March saw her reveal her cancer diagnosis, which (one can assume) allowed her some time to adjust to the scary news with her family and decide on a course of action with her doctors. She did provide an update in June, noting that she was far from “out of the woods,” but beginning to work a bit more as she took things one day at a time.

Nicholl believes that what Middleton is going through could help spell the end of the broken family bonds, especially with the holidays quickly approaching:

Obviously, there’s been no official word on whether or not the Sussexes and their children have been invited to visit Prince William and his family for the holidays, but, either way, hopefully each family will get some peace and joy for the end of the year.

I’m used to Prince Harry getting real and dropping bombshells about his personal life. His new memoir Spare revealed some wild allegations about his upbringing and there were many revelations during his and Meghan Markle’s major interview with Oprah. However, one reveal that was not on my bingo card was him admitting he wanted a “lower back” or “ass” tattoo.

Next year marks the seventh cycle of the Invictus Games that will take place in Vancouver. Proud founding member Prince Harry clearly wants to ensure he has the best lineup of performances as an Instagram video revealed him asking country musician Jelly Roll to perform. After the American musician requested Prince Harry let him tattoo him first, the Duke of Sussex actually admitted where he wanted it, and I was not expecting this:

Yes, you heard Prince Harry say he was hoping for a “lower back” or “ass” tattoo. Instead, he got a botched neck tattoo from the “Need a Favor” rapper that said, “I am Jelly Roll.” Based on what was shown in the rather hilarious video, the experience didn’t exactly look pleasant for the prince. However, it proves that the Archewell Inc. founder is very dedicated to ensuring his musical guests attend his sporting event even if that means getting inked by a musician who’s “practically” experienced.

Fortunately, there is no need to fear that Prince Harry will have to walk around for the rest of his life with a neck tattoo that says, “I am Jelly Roll.” It was just a funny promotional video that definitely did the trick to raise awareness of the upcoming Invictus Games. The former British Army captain was seen after at the Grey Cup in Vancouver and at the Seaforth Armoury to launch the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 School Program. His neck appeared tattoo-free.

Even if Prince Harry didn’t actually get tattooed by Jelly Roll, the gag does promote a great purpose. If you thought it was exciting seeing the “Son of a Sinner” performer as a musical guest on SNL 50 or singing on Tulsa King, you'll be thrilled to know that Jelly Roll will headline the closing ceremony of the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025.

In Prince Harry’s “critical” Netflix docu-series Heart of Invictus, The Invictus Games were introduced to subscribers as a multi-sport event for wounded, injured, or sick service men and women. The 2025 games will be the first to have winter adaptive sports like Nordic skiing, alpine skiing, skeleton, wheelchair curling, and more. Along with Jelly Roll, a whole lineup of performances will be revealed on November 20th.

Prince Harry entered a new chapter of his life when he married Suits actress Meghan Markle. In a lot of ways, the couple has taken big steps away from the royal family as they welcomed Prince Archie in 2019 and Princess Lilibet in 2021, and moved to a new home in Montecito, California in 2020. Now, amid frequent reports about the Duke of Sussex's turbulent relationship with his family, he's apparently inherited millions from them for his 40th birthday.

Now, that the British royal family member has turned 40, according to the London Times (via Page Six), he has inherited more than $10 million. The money came from his great-grandmother Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother, who passed away in 2002. She put $25 million in a trust fund for her great-grandchildren back in 1994, and according to a former palace aid, this was to ensure some of the Queen Mother’s estate “could be ring-fenced for them.”

Prince Harry and his older brother, Prince William, got the money in two installments on their 21st and 40th birthdays. The two siblings received $7.9 million when they turned 21. However, it looks like the younger brother will receive a more impressive payday than Prince William got. This was because Prince Harry was not in line to be king and would not benefit from the Duchy of Cornwall with his older brother being in ownership of it.

To celebrate the big 4-0 milestone, Markle threw her husband a party in their Montecito home. Despite being estranged from the Royal Family, Prince Harry still received birthday wishes from his father King Charles III, his brother Prince William, and his sister-in-law Kate Middleton on the official Royal Family X account as well. The Post reported that the Duke of Sussex also received a phone call from some of his relatives. So, it looks like the Invictus Games founder received a whole lotta love as well as a whole lotta money from his family on his big day.

Now, the questions turn to how he'll use it. While I doubt we'll ever really know, I can't help but think about how it could help Prince Harry's upcoming projects and activist work.

For example, the prince and Meghan Markle’s Spotify deal may have ended, but they still plan to have two docuseries that will eventually be available with a Netflix subscription. One will be about Markle’s cooking and gardening journey and the other was shot on location in Florida and is about the world of professional polo.

So, while the Duke celebrates his milestone birthday and this big payday, we'll keep you posted on updates regarding this inheritance and his upcoming projects.

It’s hard to know exactly what’s going on between Prince Harry and the other members of the royal family from whom he is estranged. Some reports say the prince and his wife Meghan Markle are eager to mend the rift, while others suggest their relationship with King Charles III is at an all-time low. Either way, Sir Ian McKellen knows which side of the feud he’s backing, as he describes Harry’s situation — and being born into royalty in general — as being in “prison.”

Prince Harry has spoken at length about his life as the son of Charles and Diana, making some wild revelations about the royal family along the way. He's done so via his memoir Spare and the docuseries Harry & Meghan (available with a Netflix subscription), not to mention the bombshell Oprah Winfrey interview he and Markle did in 2021. It all sounds perfectly dreadful to Ian McKellen, who told The Times (UK):

Sir Ian McKellen definitely knows a thing or two about life in the public eye, having enjoyed a six-decade career on stage and screen (one that he hopes to continue after he recovers from a bad fall during a performance in June). However, even what he’s experienced doesn’t compare to what Prince Harry and his family endure, likely in part because the Duke of Sussex didn’t ask for the life he was born into.

When it comes to the expectation of being nice to everyone they encounter, that’s something the Lord of the Rings actor has experienced first-hand, as he said Queen Elizabeth II was “quite rude” the few times he met her. The strongly opinionated actor also had some blunt thoughts about other members of the royal family and expounded on his feelings about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, saying:

Prince Harry certainly has made his choice, choosing Meghan Markle’s safety — and that of their two children — over many of the perks he inherited at birth. Whether the relationship can be salvaged between him and his father remains to be seen, or between him and Prince William, as the younger brother wrote about the Prince and Princess of Wales in Spare.

The memoir is being released in paperback form next month, but contrary to some reports, no new chapters will be included. That’s at least one step in the direction of reconciliation, if that’s what Prince Harry is looking for.

What Juicy Rumor About The Paperback Edition Of Prince Harry’s Spare Has Been Denied?

If one thing about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s choice to leave the royal family is true, it’s that the news sent shockwaves through the world and has continued to lead to a number of surprising claims, rumors and sometimes wildly differing opinions on the matter. While they have told their side of the story now through their highly-publicized Oprah interview and the illuminating Netflix docuseries, Harry & Meghan, his memoir, Spare also added a lot of fuel to the seemingly never-ending fire.

The paperback of Spare is set to be released in the U.S. on October 22 (the U.K. release will come on October 24) and when the book’s publisher, Penguin Random House, let the world in on the news, the company revealed that there will be no new content included with the upcoming edition, and noted:

As OK Magazine reports, the outlet had previously spoken with insiders who claimed that the Duke of Sussex was “planning to add at least one new chapter” for the paperback release. However, not only has the publisher refuted that report, but Harry’s rep confirmed to the magazine that the claim was “not true.”

We’d recently heard that there might be increased hope among Harry, Meghan and King Charles III that they might be able to reconcile sooner rather than later, but that Harry regaining the trust of the royal family after making many of their alleged conflicts public was a sticking point for many other members of the clan. The main fear was said to be that the prince would potentially use any conversations he could have with them, going forward, for a possible sequel to his best-selling book (though no plans for such a book have been revealed at this time).

It’s quite common for authors to add text to their books for the paperback release, especially with memoirs, as there are likely life updates that can be imparted. Now, it appears that Harry might be trying to regain that trust by not opening up about things like his visit with King Charles after his cancer diagnosis, or the fight he’s been having over security for himself and/or his family whenever they go back to the U.K. (something that is said to have caused Harry and Charles’ relationship to have “deteriorated to a new low”).

Time will tell if the release of Spare in paperback, but without new details, will lead to the memoir becoming an even bigger success than it already is.

Recent reports stated that the relationship between The Duke of Sussex and his father, King Charles III has “deteriorated to a new low level” because of Harry’s concerns about security when he and his family are in England, but another claim is now saying that the royal family’s “trust” of Harry is a problem. As a source told The Times:

And therein lies the problem with a tell-all memoir. If the people you “tell all” about are still alive and you’d like to have any open and honest conversations with them in the future, they are unlikely to do so easily, for fear of you banking their words for public use one day. Even though we've heard nothing about plans for additional tell-alls, and even if Meghan and Harry have revealed nothing but the whole truth during their time defending their decision to leave royal life behind, the idea of the trust between them and others in the family being broken is rather understandable.

According to this source, King Charles is willing to work through his worries so that he can have his son (and grandchildren) be a part of his life on a more regular basis, but other royals are unwilling to trust Harry again. The father and son made some steps toward patching things up after the king revealed his cancer diagnosis in early 2024. Without bringing Meghan or their children (Archie, now 5, and Lilibet, now 3), Harry visited Charles when his cancer was made public. However, that visit was said to have lasted for less than 45 minutes, which doesn’t seem like a particularly good sign that fences are truly being mended.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex also reached out to Kate Middleton when she made news of her own cancer diagnosis public, but it’s been said that she and Prince William did not respond to whatever well wishes were sent.

Look, we all know that familial issues are some of the most difficult ones to overcome, whatever the underlying cause. With everything that’s gone on between Meghan, Harry and his royal relatives, all we can be relatively certain of is that it will probably take quite some time for them to have a somewhat normal relationship again.

When it comes to family feuds, unfortunately it can sometimes take some kind of tragic obstacle for those involved to start mending fences. The royal family has definitely seen plenty of those recently. Despite Prince Harry’s estrangement from his father and brother, he visited King Charles III after his cancer diagnosis was revealed early this year, and Harry also reportedly reached out to sister-in-law Kate Middleton when she, too, was found to have cancer. Were those signs that the royals were on the road to reconciliation? Apparently not.

Things only got worse last year with the release not only of the Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan but of his tell-all memoir Spare, which made even more wild allegations against King Charles III and Prince William. Despite their “warm” visit in February, a source for ET reports that things have only gotten more complicated between the father and son, alleging:

While the Duke of Sussex has refused to divulge what was said between him and his father during their visit, Prince Harry was reportedly with the king for less than 45 minutes. The source reports that they have not been together since, as the son was denied time with Charles when he returned to London in July for the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games.

Prince Harry's biggest issue seems to be security for himself and his family, and he has reportedly made it clear that Meghan Markle and the couple’s two children will not return until their security has been reinstated. According to the insider:

The effect that Princess Diana’s death had on Prince Harry seems undeniable, and other sources have claimed that the Duke of Sussex thinks his mother would be proud that he took action to protect his own wife from possibly suffering a similar fate.

His family’s safety is something Harry seems unwilling to budge on, and the trust that he’s lost in pursuit of that security is not something that’s easily earned back, according to the source, who said:

Spare included a number of stories about himself and other members of his family. Prince Harry recalled the 2005 scandal in which he dressed as a Nazi for a party, outing Prince William and Kate Middleton for encouraging him to do so. The title of the book even comes from a cruel joke that Charles allegedly told at Harry’s birth, saying that with William and Harry, Princess Di had given him “an heir and a spare.” In Harry & Meghan, meanwhile, many saw the Duke of Sussex’s comments on marrying for love as shade toward William and Kate.

While there seemed to be small signs that Harry might be able to patch things up with the royal family, with so much distrust on both sides, maybe we’re actually further away from that than ever.

Social media can be used for positive reasons though, in many cases, it can also do great harm. Like so many of us, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are very familiar with the power of the various digital platforms across the Internet. It’s for that reason that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are now making it their mission to spread awareness in that regard. Harry and Meghan have established a new initiative that aims to prevent young people around the world from losing their lives due to reasons pertaining to cyberspace. With that, the two royals discussed their desire to “protect” their kids along with other children from the dangers associated with the world wide web.

The couple recently sat down to discuss The Parents’ Network, which they founded to serve as a resource to parents who’ve lost their kids due to online abuse or have children who are struggling with it. During the discussion (which is the couple’s first joint TV interview since their viral chat with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, Meghan Markle opened up about her and her spouse’s two children, Archie (5) and Lilibet (3). The kids may be young right now but, based on Markle’s comments, she and Harry are already keen on making sure they aren’t exposed to the negative elements associated with online spaces:

It goes without saying that cyberbullying is a sensitive issue and one that’s been discussed for some time now. Said topic also hits close to home for Meghan Markle, who rose to prominence as a member of the Suits cast. In the time since she and Prince Harry have been together, Markle has received online hate from commenters. On the flip side of that, some have also alleged that she could make a lot of money via social media by sharing posts. Nevertheless, Markle has used platforms sparingly and seems more concerned about the less desirable aspects of the Internet. With that, during the chat with CBS News Sunday Morning, she was also candid about her own experiences with suicidal ideation:

Prince Harry, who returned home months ago to visit his father, King Charles in the UK, shared keen thoughts as well. He was asked by interviewer Jane Pauley about the notion of some parents not being able to understand the trials and tribulations of those who’ve lost children to suicide due to social media usage. But, as the prince pointed out, that doesn’t mean similar circumstances couldn’t befall those people:

As conveyed in this interview, their hope is that Archie, Lilibet and others from being harmed by social media or harming themselves because of it. As hard as such subject matter may be to discuss, it’s wonderful that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are using their platform to discuss all of this. One would hope that The Parents’ Network will mark a viable step for helping to combat cyberbullying and other negative elements associated with social media.

It goes without saying that Princes William and Harry are rich. Even with the younger brother stepping away from his royal duties, Harry is still a member of the British monarchy, where kings, castles and coronations aren’t just the things of Disney cartoons. So just how wealthy are we talking here? Prince William’s annual salary was just released, and it includes an impressive number of zeros. Meanwhile, the Duke of Sussex may not see the same perks as his older brother, but it looks like he’s set to receive more than William did as part of his trust fund.

When King Charles III ascended to the throne in 2022 following Queen Elizabeth II’s death, his eldest son William inherited the title of Duke of Cornwall, and with that, the Duchy of Cornwall estate. In the annual report of the duchy’s 2023-24 financial earnings, per the New York Post, it was revealed that Prince William received a $30 million salary.

The Duchy of Cornwall is a private estate established by King Edward III in 1337 to fund the heir to the throne’s public and private activities. Of course, that means that Prince Harry sees no benefits from the duchy. But if looking at Prince William’s salary makes you wonder if Harry might be regretting leaving the royal family, think again, because things don’t exactly look financially dire for the Duke of Sussex.

Prince Harry Set To Inherit More Than William From Queen Mother’s Trust Fund

Prince Harry is celebrating a big birthday this year, turning the big 4-0 on September 15. While many of us may dread reaching that milestone, the Spare author is set to receive a gift that should soften the blow of aging. Harry will reportedly get $8.5 million from his share of the trust fund that the Queen Mother left to her great-grandchildren.

According to The Guardian, Princess Diana’s sons received some of that fortune when they turned 21, with another sum being paid out on their 40th birthday. Prince William is 42, so it’s likely he’s already received the second half of his trust fund, but apparently what he got was less than the $8.5 million that Harry will inherit. The publication explains that the Queen Mother left the bulk of the brothers’ money to Harry because he was not in line to be king and would therefore not benefit from the Duchy of Cornwall, as his brother now is.

The feud between William and Harry has been widely publicized — much by Prince Harry himself in the revelations from his memoir Spare — and one has to wonder if and how much money plays into any bitterness they might have toward each other. Even if both brothers are sitting pretty with millions in the bank, there’s probably no amount too large or too small to argue over if there’s no parity involved. Hell, some days I’d fight my sister over a crisp $20.

It’s been a tough year for the royals, health-wise as King Charles revealed he had cancer just a couple of months before Kate Middleton shared her own cancer diagnosis. Despite the strained nature of Harry’s relationship with his family, he has reportedly reached out, and he and Meghan Markle may even be looking for a permanent home in the U.K. If that’s true, the Sussexes may be able to increase their budget with that trust money coming in.

The past few years have been a tough time to be a former working member of the royal family, particularly if you are Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. They left their royal duties behind in 2020, eventually settling in Montecito, California, but have continued to deal with tons of criticism amid things like their tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey, Harry’s revealing memoir Spare, and the many allegations in their joint Netflix docuseries, Harry & Meghan. Now, a royal author claims that the Suits cast member feels “under siege,” and her Netflix contract is involved.

What Did A Royal Author Say About Meghan Markle Supposedly Feeling Under Siege Now?

Actually, considering the many allegations that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have made about their time as working royals (like someone in Harry’s family supposedly asking about their son Archie’s potential skin color) it would seem completely plausible that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would have felt “under siege” way before now. However, according to an interview that royal author and expert Tom Quinn recently did with The Mirror US, Markle is feeling that pressure now, and the couple’s Netflix deal is a part of it. As he said: 

Obviously, while the duo’s docuseries for those with a Netflix subscription and the memoir were technically successful, they also became additional lighting rods for criticism, negativity and allegedly led to King Charles III asking Harry to stop speaking about his issues with his royal family in public. On top of all the internal controversy surrounding their choice to leave royal life and England behind, some of their once widely anticipated projects have faltered. 

Their $20 million deal with Spotify notably ended after one 12-episode podcast failed to gain much traction, leading an exec at the company to call them “fucking grifters” and the couple to feel that people were “lining up to take cheap shots at them.” The deal with the streaming giant is also said to be worth a lot of money, but many of those projects have either been canceled or severely delayed, with rumors abounding that Netflix could be done with the couple when their contract is up in 2025.

As for Markle’s online brand, you can certainly be forgiven if you didn’t even know it existed. In mid-March, she launched American Riviera Orchard, which Harper's Bazaar noted is supposed to sell some specialty foods and home decor items, as well as home fragrances and bath and body products, among many other things. But, as of yet there are no products listed on the website, and there’s been no new info about what will be offered or when people can purchase items, so the brief excitement that accompanied the website and Instagram launch has died down and caused more criticism and “mockery.”

I think anyone who wants the best for the Sussexes just wants them to figure out their new place in the world as non-working royals so they can be happy. And, hopefully, that time will come sooner rather than later for the parents of two. 

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry left their official duties as working royals way back in 2020, eventually moving to California to raise their two young children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. However, things have hardly been all rainbows and kittens for the duo as they pursued their new lives on the Pacific coast, and a new report says that they might be looking for a “permanent” home in the UK, even though there seems to be disagreement between the Sussexes about how to broach their relationship with the royal family.

What Has Been Said About Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Supposedly Looking For A Permanent UK Home?

As noted, there has been a lot of fallout from Harry and Meghan’s decision to leave the royal family behind, especially with them being open about their side of the story during their 2021 interview with Oprah, with the release of a Netflix docuseries in 2022 called Harry & Meghan, and the prince’s book revelations from Spare. In early March 2023 (not long after that memoir was released) the couple was formally evicted from Frogmore Cottage, which had been given to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to serve as their home base in the UK. 

The Mirror spoke with royal expert and author Tom Quinn recently, and he alleges that the prince is looking for a new permanent residence in the UK, for whenever he makes visits there. As he said:

While there’s been no confirmation on this (and there are no reports of them planning to move back full time), it does make some sense that Harry would eventually begin to miss some aspects of his life in England. He was raised there, after all, so it could be as simple as him longing for the way the seasons change there or missing his favorite foods and the landscape, not to mention the likelihood of him wanting to have more time with old friends.

The couple still appears to be pretty tight and have similar ideas on how to live their lives now, so if he is considering buying a home in the country of his birth, Meghan probably supports the decision, at the very least only so they can stop spending $8,000 a night on hotel fees. But, it’s also being reported that they now have some different opinions on how to handle their relationship with the royal family.

Obviously, the duke and duchess have made a lot of allegations about their relationship with other royal family members and The Firm overall since leaving their duties, and sharing their side of the story behind that major decision has led to a lot of supposed additional strife between them, King Charles III, and his older brother Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton. 

A source recently alleged to Express that Harry is currently more willing to try and forget the past, while Meghan still looks to clear the air. As they said:

It was reported earlier this year that the king has requested that Harry not publicly say anything further about any royals that “might cause trouble,” so while him adhering to that might go a long way toward mending fences between the king, Harry and William, there’s still the matter of healing the wounds caused to the Sussexes. Allegedly, the only way for this to begin to happen is for them to get an apology, as well as Meghan being able to “hash things through” with senior royals and those in control of The Firm, which doesn’t look to be a possibility right now.

There’s little doubt that it will probably take quite a while longer before all the tensions between members of the royal family have eased and for them to actually start mending fences. We’ll likely see soon enough if the duke and duchess purchase a home in the UK and start working through their problems with his family.

The royal family has been dealing with a lot this year, with King Charles III announcing his cancer diagnosis in February and Kate Middleton revealing just months later that she, too, was undergoing treatment for cancer. Despite the circumstances, there seems to be no real sign of a truce between Prince Harry and his estranged family members. An insider weighed in on the ongoing saga, and they think what Harry saw his mother Princess Diana go through has a lot to do with his exit from the royal family.

Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle famously stepped away from their royal duties in 2020, relocating to Los Angeles. Harry allegedly not only thinks his mother would approve of this move, but according to a source for OK! magazine, what happened to Princess Di was a big reason why the Duke and Duchess of Sussex chose to do it. The insider said: 

If Prince Harry does, in fact, believe that moving to the United States might help Meghan Markle avoid what his mother endured — including but not limited to her 1997 death at the age of 36 — one can see why he might be willing to go to extreme lengths to do so, like being estranged from his family. As far as what Princess Diana would think of the move, Harry’s brother Prince William reportedly has a different line of thinking. The source continued: 

Prince Harry did return to London to visit with his father following the king’s cancer diagnosis, though he refused to divulge any details of the meeting. While that’s a move in the right direction of reconciliation, there doesn’t seem to be much evidence that the ice is thawing between the brothers, despite reports that Harry and Meghan reached out to Kate when she was in the hospital in January.

It’s apparently a tough time of year for the brothers, too, the insider said, as Princess Diana’s birthday approaches on July 1. According to the source:

It is, indeed, heartbreaking to think of all the things Diana has missed since the tragic car wreck that took her life in August 1997, especially in how it reportedly continues to affect her sons. 

We’ll have to see if current circumstances are doing anything to heal the damage caused from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex relocating to America, as well as everything Harry said in his memoir Spare and the docuseries Harry & Meghan, which can be streamed with a Netflix subscription. 

Since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped back from their royal duties in 2020, they’ve revealed a lot about the Royal Family as they told their side of the story. Through their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, their Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan and Prince Harry’s book Spare, we’ve heard a lot about his relationship with his family, and it’s not all good. Now, King Charles has apparently requested that his youngest son stop talking so publically about all of this. 

Tom Quinn, a Royal Family expert and author, told The Mirror that King Charles has apparently asked his son to stop revealing stories about the Royal Family that could "cause trouble." The author claimed:

Between that revealing interview with Oprah three years ago, and the one-two punch that came with Harry & Meghan (which one expert said was “dissing” Prince William) and Spare coming out within a month of each other, we learned a lot about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s relationship with the rest of the Royal Family. 

The wild allegations and revelations in Spare, for example, includes a story that revealed that Prince William and Kate Middleton were apparently involved in Prince Harry wearing that controversial Nazi costume. That, along with other stories in the memoir, made the book popular, however, it also reportedly had a negative impact on the Prince and Princess of Wales. 

Other stories Prince Harry told, per The Mirror article, included allegations of racism in the Royal Family – which Prince William responded to in 2021 after the Oprah interview – as well as a fight the Duke of Sussex got into with his older brother. 

This Royal expert is now pointing out that the King has apparently asked his youngest son to stop speaking so publicly and telling stories that could harm the family. Continuing to explain this alleged request, Quinn reasoned that Prince Harry’s public comments, criticisms and reveals are doing more harm than good, saying:

Recently, Prince Harry hasn’t said much publicly about his family. Following King Charles’ cancer diagnosis, the Duke of Sussex visited the UK to spend time with his father. After that, he broke his silence on the diagnosis and his trip, saying he was “grateful” he got to see his dad and that what they discussed “stays between me and him.” 

Ever since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle moved to the US, they have been candid about their experience in the Royal Family. Now, whether these claims about King Charles’ request are true or not, they have noticeably not been speaking about them nearly as much.

While the royals on the British side of the pond have spent the early months of 2024 with rampant speculation from the public about Kate Middleton, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are working on their next project for Netflix subscribers. This means filming on location in Florida, and their recent hotel stay had to be quite expensive.

The report comes just days after Deadline revealed that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry signed on for two more nonfiction projects at Netflix, already in production. The couple signed a deal with the streamer back in 2020, which resulted in the Harry & Meghan docuseries in 2022. One of the upcoming projects will center on the world of professional polo, filming largely at the U.S. Open Polo Championship in Wellington, Florida.

After Prince Harry played a charity match in Wellington over the weekend, he and Megan Markle headed toward the coast to stay at the Four Seasons Hotel in Palm Beach. According to HELLO!, suites at the hotel are priced for more than $8000 per night, and the two reportedly stayed one night. And one night is expensive enough, I'd say!

The website for the hotel showcases the rooms and amenities, which explain the sky-high prices. There are a number of suites, and while it's not clear which the couple stayed in, the cheapest is listed at nearly $3000 per night for a Saturday night. The next cheapest is nearly $6000, and the prices only climb from there to nearly $10,000.

Harry and Meghan were working on their Netflix series about polo while in Florida, with People reporting that filming happened during Harry's charity polo game in Wellington. Given that the Four Seasons stay seemed to be a break for the couple rather than for the sake of the docu-series, I'm guessing that they footed the bill themselves rather than Netflix paying for anything. I wouldn't mind if the series does eventually show their suite, though, just to get a look at the view!

There are plenty of amenities to go with the price tag, ranging from the expected options for a five-star establishment like restaurants, fitness, a spa, and a salon. There's also a "Polo In Paradise" option, which the hotel site describes as an experience in the form of enjoying "a chef-prepared picnic alongside a polo pro or take your interest in the game to the next level with a masterclass." America's "leading polo player" will be available for experiences on select dates. (Celebrities: they're just like us.)

I don't know that Prince Harry would need a masterclass polo experience, given that he's been playing the sport for years and his team actually won the polo match of the weekend, called the Royal Salute Polo Challenge, playing in honor of the Sentebale charity he co-founded in 2006. Meghan Markle was on hand to cheer on her husband, as well as friend and tennis legend Serena Williams. This will presumably be shown on Netflix when the upcoming series is released.

All in all, the couple seems to have had a luxurious weekend at the Four Seasons in Palm Beach, and it remains to be seen if their stay will appear or be referenced in their Netflix series about polo. Their other series in the works at Netflix will be centered on Meghan Markle and her journeys with cooking, gardening, entertaining, and spending time with friends. Even though it’s been well over a year since the allegations and revelations in Spare made waves, the stories Prince Harry told are still being talked about. Most recently, Elizabeth Hurley was asked about theories regarding her being the older woman the prince slept with, and now, she has reacted to them.

Elizabeth Hurley was asked about the theories surrounding her and Prince Harry while she was on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen promoting her project on the 2024 movie schedule, Strictly Confidential. Some believe that the Duke of Sussex was referring to her when he told the story about losing his virginity to an older woman. However, Hurley was quick to debunk those theories, explaining: 

In the book, Prince Harry tells the story of losing his virginity to an “older” woman, calling it an “inglorious episode,” via ET. Going into a bit of detail, the royal said it happened “in a grassy field behind a busy pub,” and he said that she “treated [him] not unlike a young stallion.” 

The 39-year-old prince did not name any names, but, people speculated that he could have been talking about the 58-year-old actress. However, as Elizabeth Hurley said, those claims are “absurd,” and she clarified further saying she’d never even met the Duke of Sussex. 

Following up on the fan question, Cohen asked her if she was surprised when she learned about this, and she doubled down on how shocked she was, saying:

Cohen started joking with her, by asking if “Harry was a good lover,” to which she laughed and said:

While Hurley said she’s never met Prince Harry, ET noted that she has interacted with King Charles and Prince William. She was also involved in the 2023 trial against Associated Newspapers, which the prince famously testified during. 

Of course, between the release of Spare and the Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan, a lot was revealed by the prince about his upbringing and life in the Royal Family. From stories that made it seem like Kate Middleton caused drama over a dress to his explanation of the time he wore a controversial Nazi costume, these projects stirred up a lot of speculation about the Royal Family. That included these theories about Prince Harry having sex with Elizabeth Hurley. 

However, those claims have been debunked by the actress herself, and now we can put them to rest.

The topic came up on Celebrity Big Brother (UK), on which Kate Middleton’s uncle Gary Goldsmith is a contestant, as he slammed the Suits star for breaking up “the threesome” of Prince William, Prince Harry and Kate. These new comments come as the Duchess of Sussex herself opened up about haters online and when things were the worst for her. 

Meghan Markle Said Bullying Was Worst During Her Pregnancies 

Social media was a big part of the discussion at the panel on “Breaking Barriers, Shaping Narratives: How Women Lead On and Off the Screen" at South by Southwest on March 8, where Meghan Markle was one of the keynote speakers. She opened up about the hate she has received and revealed that it really peaked when she was pregnant. Markle told the SXSW audience (via ET): 

The mom of two seemed incredulous that people could be so cruel during such a sacred time in her life, and now — with Archie 4 years old and Lilibet 2 — the Duchess said she isn’t very active on those platforms, which she said can have a positive impact but also can potentially have a “tremendously negative effect on someone's mental health [and] their physical safety.”

The actress may be able to largely avoid the negativity, but that doesn’t mean people aren’t still talking.

Kate Middleton’s Uncle Slams Meghan Markle For Breaking Up "The Threesome"

It didn’t take long for Gary Goldsmith to weigh in on the most controversial member of the royal family after making his debut on the U.K.’s version of Celebrity Big Brother. Kate Middleton’s uncle unsurprisingly lauded the Prince and Princess of Wales as the “savior[s] of the royal family,” via US Weekly, while lamenting what happened when Meghan Markle started dating Prince Harry. Goldsmith said: 

Prince William and Kate Middleton started dating in 2003, more than a decade before Prince Harry and Meghan Markle met in 2016. That’s a long time for Harry to bond with his sister-in-law. But, of course, the dynamics would change when he met the woman who would become his wife.

The Netflix series Harry & Meghan, as well as allegations made in Prince Harry’s tell-all memoir Spare haven’t done his relationships any favors. Kate Middleton didn’t escape the mud-slinging, either, as the Duke of Sussex said she had a role in his wearing a controversial Nazi costume to a party in 2005. 

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry reportedly reached out to Kate Middleton amid her recent hospitalization, but it’s unknown if the gesture is a sign that a reconciliation is still possible. Markle was not present when Prince Harry returned to the UK following King Charles’ cancer diagnosis.

We probably all remember the disturbance in the Force that was caused by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle leaving their official duties as members of the British Royal family in early 2020. In fact, the shockwaves from their unexpected exit were so strong that no one really has to “remember” it, because we’re still talking about who may or may not have made racist comments about Markle and the estrangement their exit caused between the prince and his family. The couple has long since made a life for themselves in America, but do Prince Harry’s thoughts on possibly becoming a citizen even make sense?

What Did Prince Harry Say About Possibly Becoming An American Citizen?

Nothing ever seems to slow down for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, even though it’s been a full four years since they left full time royal life in England behind. Aside from the appearance of problems in their deal with Netflix, and confirmed issues with their one-time deal with Spotify, there are all the rumored familial troubles between them and British Royals, not to mention what the royal family’s adoring public frequently says about them. 

Harry recently appeared on Good Morning America, and revealed that he has “considered” becoming an American citizen at some point. When asked what would stop him from going through with it, he replied:

It definitely tracks that, after several years living in Montecito, California, the Brit would at least have thought about boning up on his U.S. civics and joining Markle and his kids as a citizen of the land he now calls home. But, he’s still a member of the actual British Royal family. Would it even be possible for him to become an American citizen?

Can Prince Harry Become An American Citizen?

At first glance this probably seems like a ridiculous question, because, as noted, all one has to do is study for and pass the test, and pay the fee ($725, which should be no problem for Harry), and bing, bang, BOOM, you’re an American.

However, seeing as how Prince Harry is royalty, what would that mean for his title? He and Markle are still the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Would his title prevent him from becoming a citizen in this country founded by people who wanted to escape rule by royal families?

OK, to be totally honest, I tried coming up with this answer myself by perusing the laws in the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Act, but (and I really should have known this) it just isn’t preusable. Even if I were able to read the whole thing quickly, I’d need to be able to mentally cross reference all the rules and exceptions. Luckily, I found the 18 page instructions that accompany the application for citizenship, and found this:

Well, there goes that. Prince Harry can become a citizen in the United States, but he would no longer be able to also call himself the Duke of Sussex. This is likely because of the oath applicants have to say, which starts:

Furthermore, (follow the document trail with me) Part C, of Chapter 2, of Part J, of Volume 12 in the policy manual for citizenship states, in part:

So, while there is technically nothing stopping Harry from becoming an American, he would have to make what many people would likely call a pretty big concession to do so. And, I’m sure we’ll hear about it if he decides to make that change.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made waves when they decided to step away from the British royal family and live their lives separately in America. The move resulted in a separation of Prince Harry from his family, physically and metaphorically. The tension has been palpable and has played out in the media. The situation was strained further when Harry published his bombshell memoir, Spare, which chronicled his experience within the family and the circumstances that led to him stepping away. Now after his father King Charles’ cancer diagnosis, many are wondering where Harry’s relationship with his family stands following his recent visit to Britain to see his father. 

GMA caught up with Prince Harry while he was in Whistler, British Columbia for the Invictus Games, the Paralympic-esque athletic tournament for wounded service members. The Duke of Sussex shared rare comments with the morning show about being a dad, his participation in the Invictus Games, and his recent trip to the UK to see his father amidst the cancer diagnosis. 

Prince Harry revealed he found out about his father’s health by speaking to him personally, and he jumped on a plane immediately following the news. He said of his trip:

While his comments seemed candid, he remained mum about what he said to his father during his most recent visit to England, telling the morning show that any details about his father's diagnosis and their reunion were not for the public.

The Spare author also said during the interview that he believed the circumstances around King Charles' diagnosis might be unifying for the Royal Family. However, the prince seemed content with his decision to remain in California with his children and wife. He still did seem keen on returning to Britain in the near future, explaining:

The news of the king’s diagnosis came soon after it was reported that Kate Middleton was also recently hospitalized for an undisclosed medical emergency. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly reached out following the news as well, however Harry made the trip to the UK independently. He also visited his home country recently for his father’s coronation, but the trip was allegedly brief and the Duke returned back to America very soon after. 

Some have wondered: What this could mean for a family reconciliation? Prince Harry seems firm on living his life separately, and uninterested in resuming Royal duties in England. The negative experience within the UK was well documented in the Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan, so even the diagnosis is unlikely to reverse the decision. However the circumstances could be a turning point for the Royal Family in terms of emotional togetherness.

Still, Prince Harry spoke of the experience being potentially unifying, so possibly this could be a start to some reconciliation with the Duke’s father, or at least some common ground to be found.

Amid all the news surrounding King Charles’ cancer diagnosis and Prince Harry visiting him, another matter making headlines is surrounding the prince and Meghan Markle’s royal website. Recently, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s new website has received major backlash, and now the prince is reportedly responding to it, asking people to focus on his father and his recovery instead. 

So, this all started when folks noticed that on sussex.com Prince Harry and Meghan Markle use their official royal titles, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, as well as the coat of arms. People were upset about it, and complained that since they stepped down from their royal duties, they should not necessarily be using those titles. Now, The Times (via Page Six) has reported the prince’s alleged response to all of this, with a source saying:

Along with this source claiming that the Royal Family has no issue with this updated website, they also said there are bigger things to worry about right now. Supposedly, Prince Harry believes:

Before King Charles’ cancer diagnosis, it was reported that Markle and Prince Harry reached out to him and Kate Middleton who were both hospitalized. The Princess of Wales was at the hospital for abdominal surgery, while her father-in-law was being treated for an enlarged prostate. Not long after that, it was announced that the king had cancer, and his youngest son quickly flew to the UK to visit him.

So, while these comments are allegedly what Prince Harry thinks, based on the events of the past few weeks they track. 

The source then doubled down on the criticisms surrounding their website and the use of the couples’ royal titles, saying:

However, considering Prince Harry and Meghan Markles’ bombshell interview with Oprah, the allegations in the memoir Spare, and the fact that they stepped down from their royal duties, people are still mad. 

Overall, it’s unclear what Prince Harry’s relationship is like with his family. There have been reports that “things are strained” between them, and when he attended King Charles’ coronation he wasn’t seated with his brother, and he left right after the ceremony since it fell on his child’s birthday.

If this latest report is true, it seems to suggest that things might be getting better between Prince Harry and King Charles.
