Well, it’s allegedly the day and almost definitely the weekend. Fans of Taylor Swift, but also her sweet romance with Travis Kelce, have been tracking celebrity wedding plans (and probable wedding misdirects) for weeks and weeks now. Celebrities –though not former pal Blake Lively– have braved the heat and been seen on the streets of New York. Influencers watched myriad items being dropped off at Madison Square Garden this week, and last night we saw noted associates of Swift like Tree Paine and her childhood friend Abigail in formalwear.

It’s been a bit of a frenzy.

While all of these moments have been cited, I think it’s worth pointing out that fans are so interested in clues about the who, what, when and where of this over-the-top event, that people have been sleuthing out things like seemingly innocuous Selena Gomez posts and even Mama Donna’s flight plans. Let’s talk it out.

Selena Gomez Wore A Black Dress To Promote Rare Beauty… On The Way To Event

While we didn’t get a head-to-toe peek at a dress Selena Gomez was seemingly (maybe)(hopefully) wearing out last night, she did post a video to her socials in which she was launching a new Rare Beauty product. However, instead of posting in front of her makeup mirror, which we’ve seen before, she did it from a private car on the way to what seemed to be a Black tie event.

The timing of the post came as reports indicated Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s rehearsal dinner was getting underway. Of course, Gomez would be expected to be there. The two are close friends, and Taylor was even responsible for hyping up the bride at the entrepreneur and Benny Blanco’s own nuptials just last year. The celebrity fashion lover in me does wish she had just teased a little more of that black dress though, because I love the silhouette that we can see.

Fans, of course, made the assumption this was Gomez’s look for the event – and a smart way to market Rare Beauty, too. It certainly had my attention.

Mama Donna Kelce’s Flight Arrival Was All Over The Internet

Taylor Swift’s jet usage used to be a big topic of conversation. Not only does she take private jets a lot, but at one point a Twitter user used to post her movements and follow her around the world. Ergo, fans going out of their way to follow flights is actually not the most unusual thing in the world. Still, fans being so desperate for wedding news they followed Travis Kelce’s mom Donna from Kansas City is pretty wild to me.

Donna Kelce was seen walking around at LaGuardia Airport on Thursday, July 2nd. Someone caught a video, and she had small luggage with her (and presumably had checked more). It’s also worth noting a member of her party seemed to be carrying a formal bag suitable for a suit or a dress. As you probably well know, LaGuardia is a New York-based hub, so Mama Donna was confirmed to be in New York as of yesterday. She’s joining Kelce, who was spotted on a run in the city as early as June 30th.

Other celebrities seen out and about in New York also included Sabrina Carpenter, who broke big after opening for the “Love Story” singer. Musicians Ed Sheeran and Jack Antonoff were spotted around stateside, and Gigi Hadid and Bradley Cooper were expected to attend. Erin Andrews was also seen in formalwear as the alleged rehearsal dinner went down last night in the early evening.

The Infosys Theater was allegedly where the first of the festivities took place with more to come. We’ll be sure to keep you posted.

It’s been a long time since fans have been able to say this, but the New York Knicks are at the center of popular culture right now. The legendary NBA franchise is one win away from its first title in more than fifty years, and seemingly every game at Madison Square Garden looks like a toned down Met Gala or Academy Awards ceremony with all the famous faces jammed in. We’re even getting stories about who is there, what they’re wearing and whether they're manspreading, as well as snarky comments from other celebs like say Selena Gomez.

The popular Only Murders In The Building actress is from Texas and one of the few celebrities who is rooting for the San Antonio Spurs. She’s been seen at games in the past and has been commenting on her socials during the playoffs. After Game 4, however, a few of those comments got her in trouble, and now she’s backpeddling to clarify who her comments were actually about.

Let’s call a timeout real quick and make sure we’ve all got the backstory. Game 4 happened in New York on Wednesday night, and it felt like a celebrity was in the background of every single shot. Taylor Swift was there in coordinated t-shirts with the Haim sisters. Spike Lee, Chris Rock, Adam Sandler, Mariska Hargitay, Tracy Morgan, Hailey Bieber, John McEnroe, Jerry Seinfeld, Larry David, Ben Stiller, Timothée Chalamet, Kylie Jenner and literally a hundred more at least were all in attendance. It was a wild game, and the Knicks pulled off the biggest comeback in NBA Finals history to win it in the last seconds.

After it was over, Gomez took to her Instagram story and fired off a little jab at some of the Knicks fans who may have joined the party a little late…

To the surprise of absolutely no one, fans immediately started running with her comments, especially after they discovered she also commented “lol” underneath a photo MTV posted of Taylor Swift and Mariska Hargitay hugging at the Knicks game. Was she accusing her good friend Taylor of being a fake fan? Was she talking about Hailey Bieber, who was also at the Knicks game and featured in some celeb roundups that were posted by the team on social? Was there some kind of interpersonal drama she was trying to work out by throwing up her middle finger at celebs who were late to the party?

Well, Gomez would like everyone to know that she was not trying to start drama. She was only trying to poke fun at some friends she bet on the game with. Here’s what she posted on her Instagram Story last night…

I have no idea what happened here, but I do know people accusing other people of being fake fans is a story as old as time. Some people live and die with every regular season game, and some people get excited and only watch later during the playoffs. That’s just a part of sports. The fact we’re talking about the New York Knicks and so many celebrities are involved is the only thing that makes this unique.

That being said, you can decide for yourself who exactly Gomez was accusing of being a fake fan. She claims it was her random friends, and I’m going to choose to believe her. If you want to think she had specific celebrities in mind, that’s your business.

Game 5 is in San Antonio on Saturday night. The crowd won’t be filled with nearly as many celebrities, but I would expect at least a few dozen famous superfans to make the trip down and potentially watch the Knicks taste glory for the first time since 1973.

When you’re in love, travelling for work just isn’t the same. It just doesn’t feel the same to be without your partner. That seems to be what flirty married couple Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco are dealing with these days. That's because Gomez is currently in London, England filming the latest season of Only Murders in the Building, which is expected to be part of the 2026 TV schedule. Gomez took some time this week to get honest about missing her hubby, and Blanco had some fun and sweet reactions to share in return.

Since Gomez and Blanco have been doing the long-distance dynamic lately, the singer and actress took some time to post some cute photos of her and her man. Check ‘em out:

Selena Gomez showed a little PDA with her No. 1 by posting a ton of photos of her with Benny Blanco, who she got married to in September 2025. It looks like the pair have a lot of great moments for her to recall while they are physically away from each other. Of course he’s referring to the final photo in Selena Gomez’s post, where a little Benny Blanco is seen smiling while on the back of a pony and wearing a cowboy getup. However,Blanco wasn’t all about jokes. He also got heartfelt, with this comment as well:

It's been rumored that Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco first started dating secretly back in June 2023, so this might have been a bit of an anniversary post, too. They just finished their third year together and are going on their fourth year as a couple. I imagine it can’t be easy to be apart, especially since they are a couple who seem to be best friends as much as partners who “do everything together”. Blanco also wrote this in the comments:

Gomez has been in London shooting Only Murders in the Building with Steve Martin and Martin Short since mid-May. She and her castmates have been taking fans along with them on the shoot in a way by sharing a bunch of behind-the-scenes moments, such as Gomez dramatically performing a Greatest Showman song on set. A release date has yet to be announced for the new season, but I imagine (and hope) we’ll be able to enjoy the new season with our Hulu subscriptions later this year.

In the meantime, it seems like Blanco is holding down the fort in the couple's shared estate in Beverly Hills, California. He's also apparently staying busy, as Blanco does a weekly podcast with his best friend, Lil Dicky, and Dave’s wife, Kristen Batalucco, at their home in Los Angeles as well. Blanco's also reportedly working on a book, and I wouldn't be surprised if he were working on some music-related projects as well.

While it's bittersweet knowing Gomez an Blanco are apart, I love seeing this exchange between these two, and I hope they keep them coming!

If there’s one TV show set I’d love to be on the most, it would absolutely be Only Murders In The Building. Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez always look like they are having the best time making the comedy, and this was further proven when a wonderful moment from the set had Selena Gomez performing The Greatest Showman to her cast members like she was alone in her bedroom. What’s even better is Hugh Jackman took notice.

But given Jackman’s lovely response, should Gomez go full musical for a The Greatest Showman sequel? Back in 2024, he was open to the idea of reprising his role of P.T. Barnum, but no official plans have ever been revealed. That aside, I need more chaotic posts like this from Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez as they continue to film Only Murders.

Only Murders in the Building has been a hit on Hulu for five seasons now — with a sixth set to premiere later on the 2026 TV schedule. Part of what has drawn audiences to the murder mystery series is the chemistry between its three leads — Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez. The unlikely pairing of the singer with the iconic comedians led to real-life friendships, and Gomez proved that with her sweet words about Short’s new documentary.

The upcoming documentary Marty: Life Is Short will be available to those with a Netflix subscription on May 12, diving into Martin Short’s life and five-decade career in comedy. Selena Gomez caught an early screening, and she raved about it to her 406 million Instagram followers afterward, writing:

That’s a pretty sweet endorsement, and it was accompanied by several photos of the two. In one pic, Gomez has her arms wrapped around Short’s shoulders as they talk to Jimmy Fallon. Others show them facing each other as they hold hands, walking arm-in-arm down the street, getting in a group hug with Steve Martin and some sweet selfies. They are straight-up bestie goals — the friendship I never knew I needed.

Selena Gomez has admitted she was nervous about working with the comedy icons on the first week of Only Murders in the Building, and Martin Short was afraid she’d be a pop princess nightmare. Their fears were quickly allayed, however, as Gomez quickly became the new third amigo, so to speak.

The trio is so close that Steve Martin and Martin Short even attended Selena Gomez’s wedding to Benny Blanco. (This was despite Short being faux upset that Blanco didn’t ask her “TV dads” for permission to propose, but the SNL alum got the last laugh, I suppose, when he literally ruined their wedding cake.)

The generational comedy that’s generated by the trio extends off the screen of OMITB, with the pop star teaching her elder co-stars about TikTok trends and posting sweet selfies, despite the fact that — as she pointed out in her post above — Martin Short doesn’t have social media.

Listen, there are a lot of celebrity couples out there that are cute enough, but I have full-on heart eyes for Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco. I love how real and no-nonsense they seem to be, and they truly seem like the kind of relationship goals we want to see out of married couples in the public eye. They’re pretty private people, but I caught a little PDA on social media between them thanks to a candid photo dump from the Only Murders in the Building actress and a cute comment from her husband.

The second shows off an incredible sign she must have had at her September wedding to Benny Blanco, where even her wedding dress had a tribute to him, and apparently, everyone was “dancing barefoot” at the reception.

Then, there are a lot of miscellaneous pictures in there that feel like something you’d share with your friends and family, rather than her 414 million followers, but this is exactly why we love her. Benny Blanco makes two appearances in the post, but the best part has to be the comment section, where he wrote this:

These two give me butterflies. If you grew up with Selena Gomez like I did, it’s so sweet to see celebrities like her and Taylor Swift end up “with good dudes” and thrive after dealing with a lot of unfair tabloid media attention and singing songs about the guys who didn’t treat them well. When the couple has talked about their relationship before, Benny Blanco has said that one reason the pair work so well is because they reciprocate “all the things” they do for each other, rather than one person pulling more weight. Selena Gomez surprised us all a couple of years back when she decided to return as Alex Russo in the Wizards of Waverly Place reboot, Wizards Beyond Waverly Place. Now, we’ve just received word that the revival is already ending this year. However, I think there’s a good reason why three seasons is all we’ll see of the new Disney Channel show. SPOILERS ahead for the show so far!

Disney Channel Is Already Ending Wizards Beyond Waverly Place

It's almost time to say goodbye to Wizard Beyond Waverly Place. It’s just been announced that there will be just four more episodes of the sequel series to Wizards of Waverly Place, and it’s premiering this summer on Disney Channel and Disney+, per a press release from Disney Branded Television. It’s going to be a “four-part event” that will follow Janice LeAnn Brown’s Billie after the shocking Season 2 finale, where we learned two twists for Selena Gomez’s Alex Russo. The show revealed that Alex is actually Billie’s mom, and put a spell on herself to lock away her own memories of the fact in a locket around her neck to protect her from Lord Morsus. In a big cliffhanger ending, Billie and Alex learn the revelation just before Alex jumps into a portal to save her family from the evil wizard.

In Season 3, Billie will be focused on rescuing Alex by banding together with her family (including David Henrie’s Justin and his kids) and reuniting with her long-lost dad. Production is set to start next week!

Why I’m Not Mad At The Show’s Short Run

The most exciting part of the announcement that I haven’t mentioned yet is that Selena Gomez will be making her directorial debut in episode one of Season 3. She'll also reprise her role as Alex Russo in “multiple episodes” this time around.

As an OG fan of Wizards of Waverly Place, don’t get me wrong, I think the show did a really good job of recapturing the magic overall, and I love that a new generation of kids has Billie and the other young characters. But, there’s a sort of electricity that Selena Gomez brings to the show, and it’s just not the same without her always around. (For context: she's only been in four episodes of the 31 that have aired so far).

I like the idea of Season 3 acting as a legacy sequel for Alex Russo and her daughter, with a greater focus on the beloved original character, and the show ending things on a high note. I think across two seasons, it’s felt pretty clear that Alex Russo needs to be central to the franchise, and it just wouldn’t feel right for these ties to go away – especially considering Gomez probably didn't have time to return to the show full-time to begin with.

Disney Branded Television’s announcement came with them citing Wizards Beyond Waverly Place has “emerged as a top streaming series” for new and returning fans, so I hope its success leads to other Disney Channel shows being revived. There’s no official release date for the final Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, but we’ll update the 2026 TV schedule as soon as it’s revealed.

For years and years, Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift’s friendship has been lovely to see. Now, not only are they bestie goals, but they’re also each couple goals too, seeing as they are both in healthy and happy long-term relationships. So, on that note, Gomez reflected on all this with her husband, Benny Blanco, and his friends, specifically speaking about how both she and the pop star ended up with “good dudes.”

After Gomez confirmed that Swift’s song “Dorothea” is about her, her husband asked if the two women ever sit together and think things like “I can’t believe this is our life now from where [we] were?” That’s something I’ve always wondered too, since the two singers really did grow up in the spotlight together. The “Opalite” singer got engaged to Travis Kelce in August of 2025, and word on the street is they could get married in 2026. Truly, I can’t get over the fact that Swift got engaged one month before Gomez got married; talk about divine timing.

Now, obviously, Swift was a guest at her bestie's wedding, and Gomez posted the cutest photos of them together during her big day. So, hopefully, we’ll get similar images whenever the “So High School” singer and the NFL star tie the knot.

Overall, I just love how tight these two have stayed for the last 17 years. It’s so special to have a friend like that. And to make matters even better, it’s lovely that they found their “good dudes” around the same time, too.

Benny Blanco has gone viral for eating $200 blueberries, and his wedding to Selena Gomez was a major pop culture moment. I note those two things because overall, you never really knew why he is going to make a headline. Well, this time it happened because he appeared on a podcast with dirty feet. Now, a day later, his wife is showing some love for him amid this situation.

Why Benny Blanco’s Dirty Feet Went Viral

This all happened during the first episode of Benny Blanco's podcast Friends Keep Secrets, which he co-hosts with Lil Dicky (Dave Burd) and Burd's wife Kristin Batalucco. Described as a podcast that blends “podcast, livestream and sitcom,” the project is unlike others, and as Lil Dicky described that toward the start of the video below, that’s when you could see that Blanco’s feet were not clean.

Once fans saw this, they felt the need to point it out. In the comments on YouTube, there were viewers who brought up Blanco’s feet with both positive and negative attitudes. They wrote things like:

What Selena Gomez Posted The Day After Her Husband’s Feet Went Viral

One day after all this went down, Selena Gomez took to her Instagram stories to pay homage to her husband. While this is not directly connected to Blanco’s dirty feet, it is worth noting that she uploaded it not long after he went viral. Writing about how she falls “more in love” every day, she posted a video of them kissing to the song “A Gentle Sunlight” by James Quinn:

Well, that’s adorable, and it goes right along with the other sweet things she’s posted about her husband. They’ve also proven time and time again just how much they love each other.

For example, them showing up at the Golden Globes together was adorable earlier this year. They also consistently gush about how they support each other, and Benny Blanco has been clear about why their relationship works, explaining that they know how to reciprocate and really be in tune with what they need.

Therefore, it’s not unusual for Selena Gomez to post something like this on her social media. However, the timing of it all is serendipitous considering what happened to her husband yesterday.

All-in-all, whether Benny Blanco has dirty feet or not, Selena Gomez clearly loves her partner, and he adores her right back.

Celebrity engagement rings are often the subject of fascination, from Taylor Swift’s massive old mine cut bezel sparkler to Zendaya’s 5-carat diamond from Tom Holland. But one of my personal favorite’s is Selena Gomez’s stunning ring, which drew particular attention when fans learned how personal the design process really was. In an interview given about a year ago, Gomez and beau Benny Blanco opened up about the ring ahead of Valentine’s Day, and I love how much thought went into it.

The pair took part in a conversation for Interview Magazine and opened up about their then-engagement. Blanco famously proposed to Gomez during a Taco Bell picnic, which was absolutely adorable. Gomez shared a first look at her ring after the proposal, and fans were buzzing about how it. It's a marquis cut diamond, which is almost 6 carats, and the band is covered in smaller diamonds as well. According to the couple, designing the ring was a duel effort and Gomez had a lot of say in what the ring looked like. Blanco said:

This makes a lot of sense. Given the centerpiece diamond is so unbelievably striking, the presence of large baguette diamonds on the side might take away from it. With that, it would also make the ring very large on Gomez’s finger and not exactly practical for everyday wear. Gomez said of the original design:

The ring had already been made with the baguette diamonds and ended up having to be altered. In the end, the final version of the ring is so seamless, that it's hard to even tell it wasn’t the original vision. We all know that Selena Gomez is a fashionable lady, and she has been for most of her time at the top. She didn’t become a billionaire beauty mogul outta nowhere, after all. So, even when just checking out her Instagram, it’s not unusual to see her in an assortment of cool looks, which pretty much always include fab hairdos fit for a stylish woman about town. Well, Gomez recently posted some shots of herself in nothing but a towel, and while she looks as gorgeous as always, it’s her hair that’s really got me thinking. Take a look!

Hmmmm. Now, the “Come & Get It” singer has sported bobs of varying lengths over the years, and that hairdo does fit her style and personality perfectly (as do others), so I have no qualms about her chosen length here. My main query is: Girl, why so messy?

It’s not until the third slide that you can see how the style actually looks, with every strand neatly assembled, and yes, her hair looks amazing. The three other slides show the ‘do as though she’s been through a wind tunnel and hasn’t put her hair to rights just yet, with long tendrils swept forward and covering nearly the entire length of her face.

Actually, now that I really look at these pics again, maybe that “towel” is actually a fluffy blanket. If so, could Ms. Gomez be alluding to her love of a mussed-about “bedhead” style that implies…well, you know, a horizontal good time?

At any rate, it does seem that she’s recently cut her strands, as her caption reads simply, “short series” and ends with an emoji of a woman with long hair and scissors. Awards Season is officially upon us, and tonight helps to start it all: the 2026 Golden Globe Awards. Although I have to admit I can't help but think about Yzma from The Emperor's New Groove.

Disney has been making habit out of producing live-action version of their animated blockbusters, and there are some upcoming Disney movies that are just that. There's only one version of The Emperor's New Groove (streaming with a Disney+ subscription), but I lowkey want to see Gomez as a younger version of Yzma after seeing her beautiful Golden Globes outfit. How stunning is that? The actress and global pop star is giving old glamor in a custom Chanel gown, paired with a vintage bob. The gown reportedly took a whopping 323 hours to create. The Emperor's New Groove is an animated Disney classic that was released back in 2000, with the late icon Eartha Kitt voicing the role of the villainous Yzma. Gomez is obviously very young to be playing the Disney villain, but we've seen prequels like Cruella which offered Emma Stone the chance to play a younger Cruella de Vil. Gomez would have big shoes to bring her to life, but her Golden Globes dress shows she can obviously pull off Yzma's feathery looks.

Yzma is one of the many beloved Disney villains, and it doesn't feel totally out of question that the House of Mouse might explore her origin with a live-action prequel. The Emperor's New Groove is beloved, especially by '90s kids, so we can't deny the title has the power of nostalgia behind it. So why not try a live-action take?

The live-action Disney movies have been released to mix results, with titles like Beauty and The Beast having a classic approach, while Mulan ditched the musical numbers and Mushu the Dragon. We recently got the first casting news for Tangled, so it's clear that that subgenre will continue to be a focus for the studio. Whether or not Selena Gomez gets involved remains to be seen, but Only Murders is a Disney project.

So move over Barbenheimer, we've got another double feature on the way. But what should it be named? I'm going to go with The Testament of The Housemaid, although that's a pretty long mashup. We'll just have to wait to see how both of these titles perform, and if moviegoing audiences agree with Selena Gomez's glowing review.

While Seyfried's Golden Globe nomination might encourage folks to go see The Testament of Ann Lee in theaters, I'm curious about how The Housemaid will perform at the box office. If it does well, then it has the potential to grow into a full-blown franchise. After all, there are three books in the series.

The streaming wars have been in full effect for years now, and those with a Hulu subscription know that one of the best Hulu shows to watch is Only Murders in the Building. The Emmy-nominated series recently wrapped up its fifth season on the air, and I've loved enjoying how the comedy/mystery has changed over the years. But I do have one issue with Selena Gomez's performance that drives me crazy. Hear me out.

Only Murders Season 5 had some A+ characters, although obviously it's largely about its three stars: Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez. This trio has great chemistry, but the "Come & Get It" singer's diction on the comedy series is a bit of a distraction to me.

Sometimes I Don't Understand What Selena Gomez Is Saying

While I love seeing Gomez' Mabel poke fun at her older podcast partners in Only Murders in the Building, sometimes I have a hard time actually comprehending what her one-liners are. This is largely thanks to the singer/actress' diction when filming, especially compared to the crisp and effective way Martin Short and Steve Martin deliver their lines on the acclaimed series.

Of course, there is a legit reason why Selena Gomez is speaking this way. Her delivery as Mabel is usually very deadpan, which is an effective foil to her co-stars. But sometimes (for me personally) she borders on being impossible to understand. Does anyone else have this problem?

I didn't have this same issue with Gomez on Wizard Beyond Waverly Place, or in her catalogue of pop songs. So I ultimately think that her diction in Only Murders is a character choice. And while it bothers me a bit as a fan, that hasn't stopped Gomez from being nominated for an Emmy for her work on the comedy series. So maybe this is a me problem, rather than a common complaint that the star Emilia Perez (which is streaming with a Netflix subscription) is getting from wider audiences.

Season 5 of Only Murders in the Building has come and gone, and it looks like the show may be going abroad when it returns for a whopping sixth season on the air. The alchemy of the show is clearly working, so it's clear that Selena Gomez's diction isn't bothering that many people the same way that it messes with me when I watch. But I'm also not planning on giving up on the show. The "Hands To Myself" singer gives an excellent performance as Mabel, and I've got to blame my background in theater for being fixated on how she says her lines.

The first five seasons of Only Murders in the Building are streaming now on Hulu, with the recently completed fifth season part of the 2025 TV schedule. We'll just have to wait for news about Season 6.

For the fifth year running, the talented trio heading up Only Murders in the Building managed to solve an increasingly complicated and convoluted murder, and without any further main-cast fatalities during the finale. Season 6 is now official, and it’ll take the characters across the pond for a London-centric whodunnit. That sounds fun, but it doesn’t sound very positive for my favorite thing about Season 5, which for the first time wasn’t Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez.

Okay, if we’re talking about minute-for-minute time on the screen being funny, I would probably reluctantly put Charles, Oliver and Mabel at the top. It’s impossible not to laugh at Martin and Short’s faux antagonism. But I’m throwing all the flowers and applause and handmade accolades at Nicky and Sofia Caccimelio’s five sons — Whoa! Hey! — for collectively being the biggest highlight of Season 5 in my eyes. Oh!

Season 5 Has Been Only Murders' Most Cartoonish, And The Caccimelio Bros Nail That Tone

This season bafflingly introduced an underground casino existing in the Arconia without any of the protagonists' knowledge, while also suggesting that Renée Zellweger's Camila White was able to redecorate a room in the literal blink of an eye. I thought I might bump against such a blatant lack of realism, but I'd settle for any precedent that allows for the Caccimelios to exist. To lay them all out there — Hey-o! — here's the all-star lineup:

• Dane DiLiegro (Former pro basketball player in Italy, Imaginary, Prey) as Johnny Caccimelio
• Shea Buckner (Olympian in water polo, Survive the Night) as Tony Caccimelio
• Aaron Dean Eisenberg (Power Book II: Ghost, The Iron Claw) as Braden Caccimelio
• Cory Jeacoma (Power Book II: Ghost, 4400) as Mikey Caccimelio
• Evan Mulrooney (Fargo, Dexter: Resurrection) as Vinny Caccimelio

Admittedly, I have only a passing knowledge of some of the actors, and zero knowledge of others, so I was initially surprised to see anyone but A-listers filling in guest spots, but holy meatballs, these guys! Every second they're on the screen is upper-echelon comedy, to the point where they overshadow just about everyone else's performances, albeit in small, compact doses.

These gents are "knucklehead putzes" personified, and it seems like Sofia and Nicky's DNA did not mesh together very well. It's hilarious that they just kept at it for another four attempts. The stereotypes are laid on so thick that they're a spoof-worthy bunch, and even just their background conversation din was enough to get me giggling every time, especially when balanced against everyone else's more realistic performances.

Whoa, Hey, One Of The Caccimelio Brothers Made A Big Impact Beyond The Comedy

I would have been perfectly pleased all around if Only Murders in the Building merely utilized these five actors for wholly comedic purposes. It would have worked. But thankfully, it wasn't just limited to their wildishly immature dialogue. Also thankfully, they weren't directly involved in anyone's murder.

Instead, Evan Mulrooney's Vinny hit it off with the core trio's fourth wheel Howard, and not just in an "only friends in the building" kind of a way. Their laundromat flirting seemingly blossomed into a full-blown romance, as shown during the "Three Months Later" epilogue before the Season 6 mystery reared its curly red head.

Even if it doesn't last, at least Howard has a legitimate method to take himself far beyond the point in life where he lovingly lusted after a robot doorman. Plus, this is a better love story than Mabel and Jay's doomed tryst.

But I hope it DOES last, since dating Howard would almost definitely mean VInny would be back on Only Murders on a regular basis. Granted, that wouldn't necessitate all the siblings coming back, but don't break up my guys! Come on! My guys!

So despite feeling a bit more wary than usual about enjoying a new season at the Arconia, I couldn't be more appreciative for this quintet of innocent dummies. I dunno if I could deal with a whole spinoff based on these guys, but maybe a series of post-credits sequences. For now, Season 6 or bust!

Not only is she still riding high on the success of her hit series with Martin Short and Steve Martin, Only Murders in the Building (which just name-dropped Jennifer Aniston), but she was recently wed to music producer Benny Blanco in a barefoot and Thai food-focused celebration.

Her beauty empire, which is spearheaded by Rare Beauty, is also still going strong, but when speaking at Fortune Magazine’s Most Powerful Women conference, she noted that none of her career highs have made her any happier overall, and said:

It’s nearly unfathomable that someone who’s as successful as Gomez (and who’s been on top of a variety of industries since she was a teen) could still think the way she does, but I totally get it. The Emila Pérez star has been very open about her struggles with mental health over the past several years, and even allowed an emotional documentary, Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me, to be filmed which put a spotlight on her bipolar disorder diagnosis and other challenges.

The “Sunset Blvd” singer has spoken in the past about how she takes care of her mental wellbeing, with calling or hanging out with buddies and binging Friends being two of the things she likes to do to unwind on her (probably few) days off.

Additionally, she’s so committed to helping others in their mental health journeys that she created the Rare Impact Fund to help “young people gain access to mental health resources,” and a portion of the proceeds from every Rare Beauty sale goes to the fund. She even held an inaugural benefit for the fund in 2023. Gomez continued:

We’ve known for a while now that Selena Gomez enlisted the help of Ralph Lauren to make her nuptials to Benny Blanco extra special. The singer and actress wore four custom Ralph Lauren looks, and each one has been prettier and more delicate than the last. The celebrity fashion label recently revealed Gomez’s fourth wedding look, the Blazer dress she wore for her wedding rehearsal – yes the rehearsal her pal Taylor Swift spoke at.

From draped satin to sheer lace and one flowy, romantic, tea-length dress, most of what Gomez wore on her wedding day was dreamy. But for her rehearsal dinner, she chose a blazer dress with four buttons running up the front that was chock full of cool details. The dress had lux fabric and a big white flower at the front. It closed with its second button (which meant a few of the button details were just for show). It also had a corset tie detail that lent femininity to what was essentially a suit dress.

The corset and the flower in particular helped to tie her more tailored rehearsal dress in with her other three wedding looks. It’s really cool Ralph Lauren laid them all out in one post, as well as gave fans close ups to some of those intricate details, including fabric choice and more. Take a look.

It’s really common for brides to wear a shorter dress for their rehearsal dinner, but I don’t think the blazer dress has seen its heyday yet. It’s a pretty perfect choice, here, and really helped to differentiate the tone of that night from the tone of the day of, in my opinion.

Gomez had been said to want a pretty low-key wedding to Benny Blanco, and notwithstanding the eye-watering hotel room costs for the event in Santa Barbara, they seem to have gotten a lot of that wish. Pad Thai was served from Jitlada, where she and her partner had their first date. Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran also gave speeches, with Swift later saying to Jimmy Fallon she did not make it “about” her, and definitely did not bring up her engagement to Travis Kelce during the speech.

Ultimately, Gomez has been extremely generous sharing the details surrounding her big day, and that also includes these stunning looks at each of her celebrity wedding dresses. The second season of Wizards Beyond Waverly Place ended on the 2025 TV schedule, and it was a twist-filled journey for the Russos. The Wizards of Waverly Place reboot initially premiered on Disney+ last year and became a hit as old and new fans became acquainted with a new generation of young wizards while the old were mixed in. The series also brought the drama, and after the Season 2 finale revealed that Alex Russo is a mom, Selena Gomez shared her thoughts on it.

It was discovered in the finale that Alex is actually Billie’s (Janice LeAnn Brown) mother, having initially hidden her away and erased their memories so the villainous Lord Morsus, Billie’s grandfather, wouldn’t find her. Although it’s been speculated since the beginning that Alex was Billie’s mom, the reveal was still as emotional and surprising as ever. Via Us Weekly, Gomez took to her Instagram Stories to repost a clip of the scene, and also shared her hopes for the future:

The Only Murders in the Building actress has previously expressed her desire to have a family, and that desire is likely even bigger now that she’s married to music producer Benny Blanco.

She’s told Vanity Fair earlier this year that due to “a lot of medical issues,” such as her lupus, she can’t carry her own children since it would put her life and the baby’s in jeopardy. But she did praise the other ways that she can have a child, such as adoption or surrogacy, and even though it’s not how she envisioned it, she’s still excited for the possibilities.

The fact that Alex Russo, a character Gomez grew up with and has stayed so close to her heart over the years, is a mom, probably makes her yearn even more for motherhood. Even in the short time that fans saw Alex as a mom, it was clear it came naturally to the character.

Meanwhile, Wizards Beyond Waverly Place is done for Season 2, and as of now, it’s unknown if there will be a Season 3. The season ended with Alex sacrificing herself and pushing Lord Morsus through a portal, and going along with him so it can close. Justin promised Billie they would find her, leaving the door open for more story.

Considering Selena Gomez made the decision to return for the reboot, and she seems to enjoy it every time she’s on set, it would be highly surprising if they killed her off. But for now, fans will just have to wait and see if the mother/daughter duo will reunite. And if life imitates art for Gomez in the future.

While I’m not particularly surprised by this staggering number, considering Swift wears designer clothes often and is a billionaire, it’s jaw-dropping.

Then, to add to that, she wore a second lovely dark blue gown by Maticevski that cost $5,455.

That brings our grand total up to $42,445, and that’s not accounting for jewelry. For her first look, Swift wore a beautiful silver necklace, dangling earrings and a few rings. With her blue gown, she paired it with another silver necklace and matching earrings. Notably, the pop star also got engaged to Travis Kelce not long before this, and her massive engagement ring is on display in the images.

Now, again, this kind of opulence really isn’t unexpected. Swift has a tendency to wear garments that probably cost as much as my whole closet, and she’s quite generous with her money, as she paid out millions in bonuses to her tour crew last year. To put it simply, she’s rich, and Gomez’s wedding was glamorous.

In fact, apparently, to book a hotel room in Santa Barbara the weekend of her and Blanco’s wedding, it costs up to $3,500 per night. All that’s to say, this whole event was an opulent and expensive affair. However, I’m sure everyone could afford it just fine.

Along with her gorgeous gowns, Swift also apparently arrived with a white box, which some theorized was holding some sort of homemade baked good for the happy couple. It was also later revealed by the pop star on The Tonight Show that she gave a speech at the event.

What Happens During The Season 2 Finale Of Wizards Beyond Waverly Place?

In the two-part finale for Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, Alex Russo returns to the series to help her family face off against the dark wizard Lord Morsus. In one of the final moments of the finale, we learn that not only is Lord Morsus the grandfather of Billie (played by Janie LeAnn Brown), but Billie has been the daughter of our own Alex Russo all along. This is revealed when a locket tied around Alex’s neck opens and reveals lost memories of Alex using the spell Cerebellum Erasus to wipe all memory of their familial relationship in order to protect her from Lord Morsus.

If that reveal wasn’t enough, shortly after Alex and Billie tearfully realize they are mother and daughter, Alex jumps into a portal with Lord Morsus to save her family from the dangerous wizard. There’s been a lot of talk online about Alex Russo being considered dead following the finale, but her longtime co-star David Henrie, a.k.a. Justin Russo in the Wizards franchise, offered some hope on X, saying “Alex Russo is tougher than you think” and “there’s a lot more to come.”

At the moment, one of Hulu’s best shows, Only Murders in the Building, is dropping new episodes every Tuesday on the 2025 TV schedule, and with each week, we get more hilarious and memorable moments from the star-studded cast. However, this week, we got an extra special moment, because Episode 7 of Season 5 featured one of the co-creator's favorite scenes between Steve Martin and Selena Gomez.

A large portion of this episode is based around the billionaires’ game night that Oliver, Mabel and Charles crash. There's a big scene in the episode involving a game of Celebrity, and it’s hilarious because while Logan Lerman’s Jay, Renée Zellweger’s Camila and Christoph Waltz’s Bash kill the game, Steve Martin and Selena Gomez’s characters struggle, big time...at first.

That idea of watching these characters play a simple game delighted co-creator John Hoffman, as he told me during an interview for CinemaBlend:

Hoffman continued to explain that at parties, when you play games like this, “all the guards drop,” and you get to see a new side of a person. That was certainly true for the billionaires, but it was also true for Mabel and Charles, as the co-creator explained:

We also got to learn a lot of random information this way. The game revealed Vladimir Putin bakes an upside-down pineapple cake for Bash’s Labor Day party, Kim Jong Un won’t “shut up about Crumbl cookies,” and that Camila and Xi Jinping call each other Bunny Face and the reason is “just for us,” among other things. Hoffman got a real kick out of all that, as we got to see “those characters loosening up.”

However, as stated earlier, seeing Martin and Gomez play the game was one of his favorite scenes. And I’d have to agree, seeing them panic over the Broadway category and then using Oliver’s ridiculous stories to get the answers was absolutely hilarious, as Hoffman told me:

They really were super loose in that scene! I mean, at the end, Steve Martin jumped in celebration, and Selena Gomez threw the cards up. It was also hilarious to see them recall Martin Short’s character’s wild stories and claims – like he invented both the names Adele Dazeem and Idina Menzel.

Honestly, this scene falls up there with Season 5 highlights that include the return of Paul Rudd’s ongoing gag, any scene between Oliver and Loretta, and the few scenes we’ve gotten between Mabel and Jay that have enemies-to-lovers vibes. It was so fun to see Martin and Gomez let loose and get so passionate, and it was even more fun to see them recall all of Oliver’s wild stories.

So, I agree with Hoffman’s assessment of this sequence; I think it’s one of my favorites, too, and you can go back and watch it on Hulu.

It’s been quite the weekend for Taylor Swift, releasing her 12th studio album The Life of a Showgirl, topping the box office with her release party, and answering questions about her engagement and what getting married will mean for her career. I love their friendship so much, because not only is it the sweetest thing to see Taylor Swift heaping praise on the bride, but it was so sweet for Selena Gomez to take time from her honeymoon bubble to post in honor of her buddy's new album. The caption on the newlywed’s post read:

That's a very lovely tribute from Selena Gomez, and it’s small enough that she knows, and other people probably wouldn’t unless she pointed it out. It just shows how much she -- and likely her designers -- care about the little details, regardless of who is able to see them or not. Speaking of designers, that tribute-embroidered dress, along with the other two Gomez wore, was designed by Ralph Lauren. So Gomez certainly took a lot of care when it came to what she wanted for her attire on her big day.

The tribute is not so surprising, as the Only Murders in the Building star has not been shy about showing her love for Blanco and vice versa. They’ve been open about their wedding plans as well as their relationship in general. To that point, Blanco previously shared what makes a good romantic partner, noting that listening and paying attention important. With that, I'm honestly not surprised why Gomez ultimately fell for him.

As for Blanco and Gomez's wedding, it does seem like it was a little bit more low-key compared to other celebrity weddings. However, based on the pics, it also looked quite sweet.

Meanwhile, another detail to come out of the wedding was the fact that Taylor Swift showed up with umbrellas and a mysterious box and trying her hardest not to be seen. She was also without her own fiancé, Travis Kelce, due to his commitments to the Kansas City Chiefs. I wouldn't be surprised if they release even more as time goes on and, who knows, maybe fans will get some more looks at those dresses, including the one with the sweet tribute.

An insider opened up to Us Weekly about the festivities, which included about 170 guests total (with Swift mostly hidden by umbrellas as she disembarked her airplane and arriving for the weekend sans fiancé Travis Kelce) and ran from Friday night to the wee hours of Sunday morning. Their rehearsal dinner on that first night was a formal, sit-down affair, and is said to have taken place under a large tent at Santa Barbara, California’s Hope Ranch.

Apparently, the couple had some early dates at a Thai restaurant because they both “love” the cuisine, and the source noted that the “much smaller, intimate group” in attendance was treated to such catered food, which featured their beloved dish, pad Thai.

The wedding ceremony itself was said to have been planned exclusively by Blanco, who’s previously opened up about how “listening” and “paying attention” to your partner is his top tip for men in romantic relationships. As the source noted:

Travis Kelce was undoubtedly happy to have his fiancée there to cheer him on — as the Chiefs went on to defeat the Baltimore Ravens, 37-20 — but her presence went undetected to those watching on TV. While Taylor Swift wasn’t seen in the Kelce family suite, fans did spot both her father Scott and brother Austin sitting near Travis’ mom Donna Kelce.

This weekend seems to prove that there’s never a dull moment in Taylor Swift’s life, as she prepares to release her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl on October 3. I guess it helps to have a private jet at your disposal, but it’s nice that she wasn’t made to choose between supporting her best friend and watching her fiancé on the field.

Taylor Swift may not have had her fiancé on her arm this weekend, but she did have what appeared to be a gift in her hand when she arrived in California on Friday night. The “Cruel Summer” singer went to lengths, Harper’s Bazaar reports, to avoid being seen by paparazzi.

An army of umbrellas shielded her from photographers as she disembarked from her plane, with only a part of her arm and maroon outfit peeking out from the gaps. A member of her team carried a white box, which some theorized could possibly hold a homemade cake for the happy couple or some other kind of baked goods from the homemade Pop-Tart queen.

In addition to Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez also had her Only Murders in the Building co-stars, Steve Martin and Martin Short, there for support. Paul Rudd — who has appeared on the show — was reportedly seen talking to the comedians ahead of the rehearsal dinner. Also in attendance were Paris Hilton, Ed Sheeran, Ashley Park and David Henrie, US Weekly reports.

Another face missing from the festivities was Meryl Streep, who is rumored to be dating Martin Short after her own appearance on OMITB. She was reportedly attending Milan Fashion Week. At least Taylor Swift wasn’t the only one without a date.

The big day has allegedly come for Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco, as reports indicate the couple will tie the knot on September 27 in Santa Barbara, California. While no details of the impending wedding have been confirmed by the couple, rumors suggest some big names will be in attendance to see the Only Murders in the Building star marry the Grammy-nominated record producer. And, after seeing how much it costs to stay at the resort, I think they’d better have some big bank accounts too.

Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco have reportedly rented out the El Encanto hotel in Santa Barbara, The Sun reports, for their guests to stay as they attend a weekend of wedding events. The exclusive 5-star resort will allegedly only be open to guests of the couple, with accommodations priced at up to $3,500 a night.

OK, that is a lot to drop on a single night in a hotel (that's more like rent or mortgage for a month, right?) and, considering the I Said I Love You First artists are allegedly planning a multi-day affair, it sounds like the wedding guests could be looking at a minimum $7,000 bill for a place to lay their heads.

Now, the source does say the couple rented the resort out, so I’m thinking Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco probably footed the bill for their family and friends’ hotel stays. Not that I think the guests would have any trouble coming up with that kind of money.

We don’t know exactly who will be present to see the couple say “I do,” but insiders have said Selena Gomez’s longtime bestie Taylor Swift will be there. Travis Kelce was allegedly supposed to accompany his fiancée to the wedding but, with the Kansas City Chiefs playing Sunday afternoon, I’m not sure he’s available.

Also possibly in attendance will be Steve Martin and Martin Short — the actress’ co-stars from Only Murders in the Building (of which the fifth season is currently airing on the 2025 TV schedule, available to stream with a Hulu subscription). I have to believe Meryl Streep also scored an invite, given how tickled Selena Gomez was to see Short texting Streep amid rumors of romance between the two.

While guests will allegedly be staying at the upscale El Encanto, the location of the wedding itself is being kept a secret. An insider told The Sun:

After having some details of their wedding leaked, I don’t blame the couple for wanting to maintain as much privacy as possible.

Benny Blanco and Selena Gomez began dating in 2023 — though they met years before that — and got engaged a year and a half later. The singer/actress was seen partying with friends on a girls trip in Cabo San Lucas at the end of August, with many speculating that the getaway was Gomez’s bachelorette.

Hopefully, we’ll get some of the details from Selena and Benny’s big wedding weekend — if that day has, indeed, come. I also wouldn’t mind hearing what guests think of those $3,500 resort accommodations, either.

Now that we’re on Season 5 of Only Murders In The Building, I’m actually rather shocked at the lack of romance we’ve seen in the comedy starring Selena Gomez, Martin Short and Steve Martin. It’s kind of refreshing that the only big couple to write home about is the recent marriage between Short and Meryl Streep’s characters (the actors are rumored to be an item in real life), but now that Logan Lerman’s character made his first appearance on the series, the potential for a new romance for Gomez’s Mabel has stirred up a lot of thoughts about the show from me.

Lerman has been established as Jay Pflug, who is one of three billionaires the Only Murders podcasters/mystery-solvers come across as they try to solve the potential murder of the Arconia’s Lester Coluca. He’s the heir of a pharmaceutical magnate and happens to be around the same age as Mabel. In Episode 4, they strike up a meaningful conversation that had Charles and Oliver saying that he makes her “eyes flutter.” So, what’s being set up exactly?

I (And Other Fans) Do Sense Some Flirtation Between Mabel And Jay On Season 5

While I could be absolutely wrong, I do detect Only Murders In The Building is trying to set up a little flirtation and potential love interest territory between Mabel and Jay. Particularly, one where one of the possible villain and our hero could get into a classic enemies-to-lovers scenario. The romance trope is personally one of my favorites, found in the likes of Pride & Prejudice, Bridgerton, La La Land and The Sound of Music, and hasn’t necessarily played out on the show yet. I Actually Love The Idea Of Mabel's Guard Going Down For A Villainous Billionnaire

Shortly after Jay impressed Mabel during the unexpected billionaire “dinner” party in Episode 4, we learn that Jay used the information they talked about to trap her, Charles and Oliver in a new deal where they cannot talk about him or the other billionaires on their podcast. Mabel is flustered and angered that he took advantage of a sweet moment between them, but that goes to show that his charm went far. Mabel's skills are usually sharp, and she’s always paying attention to who could be suspects, and how they could be tricking her. But, in the case of Jay, she was quick to write him off, probably because she has a little crush.

Being attractive and knowing how to use it to gain power is a dangerous game that I think that Jay is playing, but if Mabel falls for it, it’d mean she’s only human. There've been a lot of unexpected villains throughout the series, but a case being difficult to crack because a character like Jay knows how to use his magnetism to get away with things is an interesting plotline for Only Murders to explore. And, it'd be even better if it ends with Jay actually being one of the good ones, and the pair fall in love. Mabel has always been an unexpected character, and as long as he’s not actually a murderer, I’d kind of love this for her.

It'd Sort Of Be The Best, Since Selena Gomez Once Said He Was Her Celebrity Crush

One big reason why Mabel and Jay’s possible romance is also so interesting to the internet comes from their history. Long ago, Gomez said that Lerman was her celebrity crush (via X), and it became so viral that the actor was asked about it during a press junket. He was flattered, and Gomez sweetly took back her answer to get the attention off the pair of actors being a couple everyone wanted to see. Over a decade later, the pair have had the chance to work together for the first time, and should they become an on-screen couple, it's kind of a sweet full circle moment. Plus, nowadays, Gomez is engaged to Benny Blanco and Lerman is engaged himself.

I Have A Larger Problem With Mabel's Romantic Storylines That I Hope The Show Can Start To Rectify

The conversation about Mabel and her love life brings me to a larger issue I’ve had with how her character has been handled in relation to meeting a love interest. Across the show so far, Mabel has had a few love interests, with Oscar Torres in Season 1, Alice Banks in Season 2 (played by one of her best friends Cara Delevingne) and Jesse Williams’ Tobert. I totally get why the writers have chosen not to make any of them stick. The focus is more on Mabel’s friendship with Charles and Oliver, and her own personal self growth journey, but it’s getting kind of tiring to see them each last season, and for her to be stuck in the same one-season romance loop.

It doesn’t allow Mabel to really grow as a character if she’s interested in a romance/partner-in-crime outside of her sweet friendship with Charles and Oliver, but she’s never able to juggle her mystery-solving life and finding the happiness she’s looking for, it ends up being a let down if we don't get to see her explore relationships beyond the surface.

While I don’t necessarily expect Jay to be the character to break the spell, the arrival of another love interest has me thinking about a circular pattern on the mystery. I hope it doesn't stay stagnant until whenever they decide to end the show. In other words, if you’re going to give Mabel another love interest, really commit to a good romantic plotline, because they’ve been so thin and forgettable thus far.

Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco are one of the more recent young Hollywood couples to get engaged, confirming the announcement in December 2024. Though they’ve only dated since 2021, Gomez and Blanco's meet cute and friendship date back to her Disney days. So, what’s it like to be around the happy couple on a night off? Many, like myself, may have jumped to the Only Murders in the Building conclusion that it was Meryl Streep and Martin Short's continuing relationship filling out this foursome. He recounted the fun night to People when the publication visited the Wizards Beyond Waverly Place set. In addition, he also noted what a gourmand Blanco is, by saying:

I love that Gomez’s worlds are meeting. As a fan of the actress going back to her Disney days, I know that she’s revealed that the 2007 show meant and still means a lot to her. So, the double date seemingly must’ve also meant a lot while highlighting Blanco's supportive nature toward a partner.

All in all, the double date night sounds like the perfect place to lay the groundwork for better friendships all around. Though, it does make me wonder if Blanco hung on the set of OMITB. Can we expect him to pop in on the set of the mostly great Wizards Beyond Waverly Place? This Selena Gomez fan hopes so, especially if the music producer and Henrie become better buds.

Last night, the 2025 TV guide pulled off another big night from its calendar as the 77th Emmys aired. Many shows’ casts were there, from Severance to Abbott Elementary, and, of course, Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez from Only Murders in the Building. Naturally, the hijinks-prone trio had fun last night but also had a viral moment. Specifically people fawned over Selena Gomez’s real time reaction to Martin Short texting Meryl Streep.

In a now widely circulated video, co-star Selena Gomez can be seen glancing at a smiling 75-year-old on his phone. Once she realizes whom he’s communicating with via text, she leans over to her fiancé, Benny Blanco, and adorably delivers the news. People on the internet believe she says, “Marty’s texting Meryl,” with a huge grin. Take a look for yourself:

Though Only Murders in the Building was among the 2025 Emmy nominees, including Best Comedy, Streep was MIA. Assumingly, her absence may relate to the filming schedule of The Devil Wears Prada 2, which will be out in spring 2026. Yet, it seems like she was in contact with cast mate, and love interest, Martin Short.

The segment in full is just so wonderful to watch play out. From Martin Short’s smile as he texts, to Selena Gomez sharing the exchange she saw with Benny Blanco, I don’t know what I find more wholesome. The latter two are certainly giving off a mom and dad vibe as they relish in the Oliver Putnman actor’s happiness, though. Clearly I’m here for it all, but the reaction of the 33-year-old is just top tier sweet.

As for the legendary lovebirds, it’s been just about a year since the Short and Streep dating rumors ran wild online. While they’ve never confirmed their relationship, the pair have been regularly seen together on and off the set of OMITB. Thankfully, Selena Gomez's moment let fans in on two things. One, the Hollywood vets are communicative with each other when a part, and two, they have an equally electric text game between them.

Funnily enough, this isn’t the first time Gomez has been the center of a buzzy awards show off stage happening. She and Taylor Swift shared a viral moment at The Golden Globes in 2024 that was rumored to tie into eyebrowgate with Kylie Jenner (which was debunked by Gomez herself). Hopefully neither her or her castmates are too ruffled by this new off camera catch, I can’t imagine they would be. Though I’m sure it has the Wizards of Waverly Place star thinking twice about when to put her hand over her mouth so as to avoid a future installment.

Regardless, the lovely candid Emmys moment of Selena Gomez celebrating the bond Martin Short has with Meryl Streep through text is wildly watchable to me. It makes me want to rewatch Only Murders in the Building Seasons 3 and 4 with my Hulu subscription until the next cute clip of Streep and Short drops.

Things got even more exciting when OGs David Henrie and Selena Gomez confirmed they'd return as Justin and Alex Russo, respectively. After its release, the magical Disney show's return was well-received and quickly got rolling on its sophomore season. Now, Gomez is talking about why she agreed to reprise her role ahead of Season 2's September 12 premiere, and it’s really lovely.

With two of Gomez's shows, Only Murders in the Building and the Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, returning to the 2025 TV schedule this month, Gomez spoke about them with Allure. When asked about agreeing to return and act in the Disney reboot (she’s also a producer), she had a grounded, familial response, saying:

Frankly, her answer is pretty wonderful and more humble than I expected. As we’ve seen before, many actors synonymous with their iconic TV characters don’t ever reprise them. But, on top of that, Gomez was 15 when Wizards of Waverly Place began and grew up in that spotlight. If you know anything about the Spring Breakers actress beyond her career, it’s likely you know she loves her family and her younger sister, Gracie. The two were spotted at the Eras Tour together, and she consistently gushes about her younger sibling. So, it makes sense that she loves being on this Disney+ show because her sibling loves it.

Plus, the actress's Wizards co-stars are her family too, as she explained:

The ‘why’ of why she’ll always opt to work on the reboot makes plenty of sense, especially paired with her previous thoughts. Growing up in Hollywood can be wildly tricky, so to hear Wizards was a safe place is great. And it seems that Gomez is passing that care down since she gave Janice Leann Brown sweet advice ahead of the premiere. I love to see when grown kid actors make space for and guide the next generation.

Now, the countdown is on with The Wizards Beyond Waverly Place Season 2 premiere just around the corner on September 12. From the sounds of it, we can expect more magic and fun from Gomez and the cast behind the Russos and co.

Spoilers below for anyone who hasn’t yet watched the first episode of Only Murders in the Building via Hulu subscription, so be warned!

One of TV’s deadliest structures is back to take more victims, as Only Murders in the Building has graced the 2025 premiere schedule with its Season 5 return. Understandably, it kicks off soon after the events of the Season 4 finale, in which the newest on-site victim was identified to be the beloved doorman Lester, and raised those stakes even higher by revealing a second dead body in the fifth season’s premiere. And you just know everything is connected.

For all the fun that I had watching Téa Leoni join the fun as Sofia Caccimelio while catching back up with the core trio, the latter characters stumbled upon their newest groundbreaking mystery in ways that truly bothered me from a narrative perspective. In fact, I think one of those instances exemplifies possibly the worst storytelling sin that can happen in a murder-mystery.

OMITB's Biggest Murder-Mystery Storytelling Sin: Oliver's Dry Cleaner Scene

With a fairly complex beginning stage set for our central podcasters to kick off their investigation, the premiere ends with a fairly predictable shocker for a show like this: the missing husband that Leoni's character wanted the trio to track down wound up being the second corpse. Bobby Cannavale's Nicky Caccimelio was revealed to already be dead the first time we fully see him in person, with his death no doubt connected to Lester's.

But how did Nicky's body get discovered? Was it the result of stringent and unwavering detective work? No. Was it the result of hours of intense stakeouts and scouring over hours of security footage? Mabel did watch lots of such footage, but that also had nothing to do with it.

Instead, the body was found because Oliver attempted to get Lester's hat dry cleaning after hours, and instead of either finding a new dry cleaner's or making a plan to return in the morning, Oliver instead tries the door, finds it's unlocked, and then waltzes inside. Then, instead of leaving the hat on the counter with a polite note and some money, Oliver takes it upon himself to turn all the machinery on so that he can see the rest of Lester's uniform. It seems like he should have been able to just walk up and grab it after seeing the jacket, but he still uses the conveyor.

One of the biggest faux pas that any kind of mystery can make is relying on pure coincidences and baffling character behavior to push the plot forward, and Oliver's actions in the Season 5 premiere align entirely with those forced story beats. If this show took place in the '70s or '80s, I could more easily buy into a neurotic character randomly entering a closed business and futzing with equipment without either getting shot or setting off any alarms.

To clarify, I'm sure there's a perfectly fine plot-related explanation for why Nicky's body was hung up in his family's business like that, and for why the front door seemed to suddenly unlock when Oliver was standing in front of it, and that those reveals are coming in later episodes. But no explanations could possibly justify Oliver's legitimately criminal decision to not-quite-break into a business for personal reasons. I get that he's an unpredictable loon, but impulse-driven coincidences are not a good foundation for a murder-mystery where detailed minutiae is key.

I'm Also Not In Love With Another Big Reveal Being Tied The Arconia's Secret Architecture

As someone who adores escape rooms, I love that Only Murders in the Building can occasionally scratch that same puzzle-minded itch with its twisty plotting. And the premiere dropped a doozy of a reveal by having Charles and Mabel discover that a full-on casino exists below the Arconia, thanks in part to a super-special card deck that boasts a magnetic card with a secret map on it. Because sure, why wouldn't such a card exist?

That said, this reveal also felt wildly coincidental and unnatural within the scheme of things. Sofia giving Charles the deck as a "clue" was extremely baffling, and had Charles chosen to examine the cards while drinking anything but wine, he probably wouldn't have ever realized the map existed. Or if he hadn't been near anything magnetic, he may not have even realized that one card was special.

But sure, I can buy into each of those things happening, since it's TV. However, if the stairway down to the casino was merely hidden in one of the lobby floor's custodial closets, why did anyone need a secret map to figure that out? It could have just said "Broom Closet Near Elevators." Even then, though, I'm questioning why anyone in possession of the key would even need that reminder of where the casino is, considering there aren't many steps required to find it.

I think my biggest issue with this reveal, however, is that it's not the first time Only Murders has pinned a mystery on the Arconia having secret areas that the main characters weren't privy to, despite two of them living there for eons. (I'm referring here to the behind-the-walls tunnels that Jan utilized in Season 1.) As much as I like the idea of a clandestine casino, I don't want this show to already become a parody of itself by just rehashing ideas.

On the one hand, I totally get it, since there are only so many ways to make an apartment complex continue to justify its titular placement this many years into a show's existence. But on the other hand, if the creative team is going to continue requiring viewers to suspend the disbelief with each new season introducing more and more murders happening around Charles, Oliver and Mabel, then they should be able to tell those stories without retreading ground and eschewing logic all at once.

Perhaps we'll learn later in the season from new cast member Keegan-Michael Key that Oliver was diagnosed with a syndrome when he was young that makes him unable to not walk into businesses after closing. But I doubt it.

September streaming got off to a strong start last week with several high-profile shows debuting. Only Murders In the Building, Season 5 - September 9 (Hulu)

Only Murders in the Building continues to be one of the best shows available streaming. That's partially because of its incredible core cast of Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez, and the fact that fans don't have to wait three years between seasons. Season 5 of the show drops for Hulu subscription holders this week. The main trio will investigate the death of loveable doorman Lester (Teddy Coluca,) who was found dead in a fountain at the end of last season.

Seen & Heard: The History Of Black Television - September 9 (HBO Max)

From producer Issa Rae, Seen & Heard is a two-part documentary that follows the history of Black representation on television. It’s certainly a story that doesn’t get told enough. Also, Shonda Rhimes and Oprah Winfrey are just some of the major media figures interviewed for the production.

Aka Charlie Sheen - September 10 Netflix

There was a time not that long ago when Charlie Sheen was a name that was always in the news, and usually for the wrong reasons. A new documentary available with a Netflix subscription takes a look at the life and career of the former Two and a Half Men star, both his successes and his difficulties.

Warfare - September 12 (HBO Max)

One of the best reasons to have an HBO Max subscription is the platform's deal with A24, as it means unique and interesting films are always debuting. The latest feature from the studio to hit the streamer is Warfare. Written and directed by Ray Mendoza and Alex Garland, the movie has been widely praised for its emotionally harrowing journey. If you missed this one in theaters, check it out at home.

Screamboat - September 12 (Peacock)

No, you’re not having deja vu. This isn’t The Mouse Trap, that terrible horror movie cashing on the public domain status of Steamboat Willie. This is the other horror movie cashing in on the public domain status of Steamboat Willie, the one that used Colin Jost and Pete Davidson's Staton Island Ferry.

September will continue to go strong on the streaming front. With new seasons of Slow Horses andTulsa King as well as the premiere of the Marvel Zombies animated series, there’s certainly something for everybody.

As Only Murders In The Building’s Season 5 is on the way to be part of 2025 TV premieres, we’re excited to see Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez solve more crimes and rub elbows with more big name guest stars. But with five seasons under the show’s belt, should we start preparing to say goodbye? Martin recently spoke to whether there’s talk of ending the show along with sharing a “motto” that is keeping the show going.

Ahead of the new season, the trio of stars that make up Only Murders were asked by Entertainment Tonight if fans should expect a certain number of seasons from one of the funniest shows on Hulu (and let’s face it, television). Here’s what Martin had to say:

Steve Martin also co-created the show with John Hoffman and remains part of some of the behind-the-scenes conversations (along with Short and Gomez both being executive producers with him). As Martin explained, they really love making the series so much that it just doesn’t make sense for them to move on from it right now. He also said this:

Gomez was nervous to meet and work with the comedy legends that have since become her friends.

Short previously talked about being the most proud that Only Murders has a reputation of being the “most fun set to be on.” It’s clear that even big names love coming to the small screen for the series, including Meryl Streep since Season 3. Christoph Waltz, Renée Zellweger, Logan Lerman, Bobby Cannavale, and Téa Leoni will appear in the upcoming Season 5.

It sounds like Only Murders In The Building isn’t going anywhere anytime soon as long as people keep loving it. You can catch the premiere of Season 5 only on Hulu on September 9, with the first three episodes releasing on premiere day followed by one episodes per week on subsequent.

With his lady out of the house, it seems Benny Blanco wanted a little snack after enjoying some herbage, but “little” is not what he got. This box of blueberries was sent to him, he says in the viral TikTok video, and once he opened the packaging and saw the large berries laid out like chocolates, I guess he felt compelled to share them with the world. OK, those are some seriously impressive blueberries. I mean, when in your life have you ever had a two-bite blueberry? If I saw those at my grocery store, I’d be worried they would taste sour, but for $200 a box, you have to assume the quality is top-notch.

Season 5 will be coming soon too -- hopefully on the 2025 TV schedule -- and I can't wait to see this joyful program back on our screens. With the Only Murders cast consisting of Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez, along with many incredible guest stars, you never know what to expect each season. Now, Short has revealed the aspect of the show he’s most proud of, and as a day one fan, I love hearing this.

Short, who plays struggling Broadway director Oliver Putnam, appeared on the podcast Conan O’Brien Needs A Friend, and he told the former Late Night host what his experience on the Hulu comedy has been like. He praised the reputation that the series has gotten, and he showed a lot of love for Martin and Gomez, as the three have become the most unlikely trio:

I have to imagine that this positive energy is part of the reason Only Murders has been on for so long. Due to the fact that the cast has so much fun making this show, that positive energy comes across on screen, which makes the viewing experience even more delightful. That being said, it’s also nice that it’s so fun on set because not everything on the show is so fun, like when a character is actually murdered. But being a comedy, Only Murders knows how to make it entertaining, even if they've killed off a beloved character such as Jane Lynch’s Sazz. Overall, though, Only Murders is fun both on-screen and off, and it’s one of my favorite things about the show.

Meanwhile, there isn’t a premiere date for Only Murders Season 5 yet, but the wait will be worth it. Fans can likely expect more videos and photos to come out of filming, as it was recently completed. Hopefully, that also means new episodes will be available for those of us with a Hulu subscription sometime soon. In the meantime, I'll be basking in the fact that this is such a lovely series to make.
