Khloé Kardashian is all about spilling the tea, and she’s welcomed several of the Kardashian-Jenner family members onto her podcast to divulge secrets, like the rumor that always upsets Kris Jenner and the rule Tristan Thompson won’t budge on with their kids. The tables were turned when Khloé visited the Call Her Daddy podcast though, as she revealed one rumor about her family that’s true and one that’s false.

The Good American boss got to the bottom of a couple of big Kardashian mysteries during an episode of Call Her Daddy, as Alex Cooper presented Khloé with things she’d read on the Internet and asked if they were true or false. Here’s what we found out:

The Rumor: Khloé Kardashian Facetuned Her Cat

Khloé says: False.

The Kardashian sisters have had their share of Photoshop accusations, with Kim responsible for some hilarious photo fails and Khloé getting accused of some pretty heavy editing. Back in 2024, those accusations spread to the Russian Blue cat that Khloé got for her daughter True. Reddit users debated whether The Kardashians star might have forgotten to turn off the filter before posting the pics of Grey Kitty. However, not only does Khloé deny filtering the feline, she said it’s not even possible:

She actually tried it, but it didn't work! She added, jokingly:

Consider that one debunked, but we’ve got another Kardashian rumor headed our way.

The Rumor: Khloé And Her Sisters Are All Paid The Same For The Kardashians.

Khloé says: True.

It's kind of surprising to me that they all get paid the same for The Kardashians, because it does seem like some sisters carry the show a little more than others. But they all have camera crews that follow them, and they’re all executive producers, so I guess it makes sense.

Speaking of their positions as EPs, Alex Cooper asked if that meant they could cut anything they didn’t like. Khloé Kardashian confirmed they can request edits, but probably not in the way we'd expect. She said:

Khloé Kardashian had entire episodes dedicated to her breakup with Tristan Thompson, so I can imagine there are plenty of things she probably wishes weren’t presented for Hulu subscription holders.

Similarly, Kris Jenner has a “who cares?” attitude regarding some of the things that get fans riled up, but she has asked that things be taken out, like if “the back of my hair looks crazy.” Kourtney Kardashian has even complained about the editing of the show, but according to Khloé, the main thing her big sis asks is for editors to take out how many times she says “like.”

I can't believe it, but it's been almost six years since many of us learned who Anya Taylor-Joy was as she broke big in Netflix's The Queen’s Gambit. Since then, the actress has become a full-blown movie star, between starring in a ton of horror films, landing the voice of Princess Peach and joining Dune. This week she’s back on the small screen; however, returning to the small screen in Lucky. This time, the notoriety she's built up since the Netflix hit definitely shows.

If you liked The Queen’s Gambit, I’d gamble you’re going to like her new series. It’s also about a young woman who’s especially gifted at one thing. (No, not chess.) Anya Taylor-Joy's new series is about the daughter of a grifter who’s been expertly trained him in the art of a good con since childhood. The show’s creator, Jonathan Tropper, said this to CinemaBlend about how the return to TV came about.

Oh, how the tables turn! While Taylor-Joy was a relatively unknown actor for hire when she was approached for The Queen’s Gambit, this time she was one of the first names on Lucky . She was approached; she didn't audition. This also marked her debut as a producer alongside the likes of Reese Witherspoon.

As Tropper added, it wasn't just Reese's involvement that got Taylor-Joy involved in the 2026 TV release. It was fate. Even author Marissa Stapley had pictured the actress in the role.

Lucky starts with a longtime couple, Lucky and Cary, who are getting ready to go on the run with millions of dollars in their hands. However, when Lucky wakes up the following morning to find her husband and the money nowhere to be found, she must avert the authorities (and other parties who want the money) all on her own.

When CinemaBlend chatted with Anya Taylor-Joy about the role, she recalled shooting the pilot across twelve days and nights in and around Las Vegas’s Caesar’s Palace. She also told me she was “so proud” of herself after running for twelve hours straight to film one scene in the first episode where Lucky is trying to get out of the famed hotel and disappear.

Lucky’s co-showrunner Cassie Pappas said the actress really put her heart and soul into wearing all these different hats in order to make Lucky as great as it is.

How cool is it that Taylor-Joy got to work on Lucky from the inside out? You've got to love seeing more talented women movie stars like her taking the reins behind the scenes. Pappas also said this of collaborating with her as well:

Lucky also stars Outer Banks’ Drew Starkey as Lucky’s husband and Timothy Olyphant as Lucky’s dad. Annette Bening also plays a chilling mob boss after her named Priscilla and Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor is FBI Agent Billie Rand, who is on her tail throughout. The TV series was shot not only in Las Vegas but across various terrain in Southern California where Taylor-Joy and the cast got to pull off a series of action scenes and nail-biting car chases.

The two-episode premiere of Lucky hits Apple TV this Wednesday, July 15, with new episodes coming out on subsequent Wednesdays. It's been a long time since Anya Taylor-Joy has made a TV show, but this one seems to be well worth the return to the medium.

The Star Trek franchise is well known for bringing back franchise veterans, and it seems that may now be the case with one of its actors. A Star Trek: Discovery star seemingly shared that he might be returning to a series soon, only to delete the post from social media quickly. More specifically, it looked like James Frain jumped the gun a bit when hinting that his Sarek could be returning, and the moment is made even more iconic due to the caption shared with the post.

Frain, who played Spock's father and Michael Burnham's adopted father in Discovery, dropped a picture of himself in full Vulcan makeup on Instagram. As previously mentioned, though, the post didn't stay up long. Fortunately, I was able to get a look at it before it was taken down and can share the caption that Frain attached to the selfie of himself as Sarek:

The timing comes just as Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is set to debut Season 4 on the 2026 TV schedule, though none of the footage released so far has shown Sarek. That said, it's not wild to think he'd make an appearance, given that Spock is on the Enterprise and has had a few adventures involving family throughout his time on the series.

If Sarek doesn't pop up in Season 4, fans should also consider that filming wrapped on Season 5 in late 2025. Based on what James Frain said, maybe he was hinting that he was featured in the final season, and I would love that. What if this means we're finally getting the payoff to the storyline with Angel, which soft-launched Spock's eventual showdown with his half-brother Sybok?

While we know Sybok and Spock cross paths in Star Trek V: The Final Frontier, the character was mentioned after the Enterprise crew encountered his romantic partner, Angel. It seemed like the show was setting something up but, as of the end of Season 3, there's been no closure on that front.

There's also other ground to tread with Spock and Sarek, as Star Trek has shown throughout its history. Sarek disapproved of his son joining Starfleet over the Vulcan Science Academy and, while they would later reconcile, they often butted heads due to Sarek's more Vulcan mindset.

The father and son never really had a heartfelt exchange in an episode until The Next Generation episode "Final Days," which is available to stream with a Paramount+ subscription. In the episode, Spock is able to visit his father on his deathbed, and the two have a long overdue discussion about their feelings for one another. It's a heavy episode, especially considering Vulcans suppress their emotions.

As for other ways Sarek could reappear, I suppose it's possible he's featured in Star Trek: Starfleet Academy as a hologram, or there's some secret project from the franchise that's on the way. I don't think the latter is in the cards, but I guess if it is, maybe we'll find out at one of the upcoming Comic Cons in San Diego or New York. In any case, I'm excited about the prospect of James Frain's Sarek returning.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 4 premieres on Paramount+ on July 23rd. We'll have to wait and see if Sarek pops up but, in the meantime, I'm just happy to have new Trek to watch after a long hiatus in programming.

Mike Flanagan’s upcoming Carrie series was always going to need more story. Namely because Stephen King’s debut novel is short, the prom has already been burned into pop culture by Brian De Palma’s 1976 movie, and Prime Video ordered eight episodes rather than another two-hour page-to-screen adaptation. Flanagan has earned plenty of trust with King material, but the first details about how he plans to expand Carrie White’s world have given me pause. Honestly, it just sounds too much like X-Men.

In Entertainment Weekly’s first look at Carrie, Flanagan explained that the series will explore the science behind telekinesis and connect its title character to other women with similar abilities. If you've read all of Stephen Kings books like I have, you know the material has roots in his novel, but the showrunner’s description sounds much closer to the foundation of a new superhero movie mythology than the intimate horror story I associate with Carrie. Flanagan explained:

There is something compelling buried in that idea. King’s novel includes reports, testimony and scientific speculation surrounding what happened in Chamberlain, Maine. Previous movies largely discarded that material to stay close to Carrie, Margaret White and the approaching disaster at prom. A streaming series has room to recover pieces that never fit comfortably into those films.

Still, words such as “gene,” “larger universe” and “gifted women” set off my superhero alarm. Put them together, and the upcoming horror series begins to sound less like a frightened teenager discovering something impossible and more like a mutant who has not yet found Professor Xavier’s school. The powers in Carrie should feel isolating and dangerous. Turning them into membership in a secret supernatural sorority risks making the character less singular.

My concern grew when Flanagan revealed that, beginning with Episode 2, each installment will open with a different woman somewhere else in the world and at another point in time discovering her abilities. That could become a clever series of miniature horror stories. It could also feel like the Carrie series keeps leaving Carrie to build lore for a larger mythology.

Upon hearing this, my mind immediately went to Stranger Things 2 and “The Lost Sister,” the divisive episode that sent Eleven to meet another powered test subject. The concept made sense within the show, but the detour felt to many viewers like a backdoor pilot interrupting the story they were already invested in. Carrie introducing a new gifted woman every week could create a similar problem if those segments begin to resemble a setup for a telekinetic team-up.

In my opinion, Carrie White does not need mentors, a mythology lesson or a broader mission. Her story works because she is unprepared for both her abilities and the cruelty around her. The horror comes from watching years of abuse and humiliation collide with power she cannot control.

Flanagan may still pull this off. I mean, I have faith as he's created some of my favorite horror movies and series in recent memory. King reportedly approved the new approach and serves as an executive producer, while Flanagan’s previous adaptations have shown how dramatically he can reshape source material without losing its emotional core. For now, though, the “TK gene” is the first Carrie detail that worries me. I want a tragedy soaked in blood, not the opening chapter of the Telekinetic Cinematic Universe.

Carrie is expected to premiere on Prime Video's 2026 streaming schedule in the fall for subscribers with a Prime Video subscription.

After all that’s happened between Taylor Swift and Blake Lively — including the alleged text threats during Lively’s legal battle and their exchanges becoming like a “mass corporate email sent to 200 employees” — it was really not a shock that the Gossip Girl star and Ryan Reynolds didn’t receive invitations to the celebrity wedding of the year. That’s a pretty harsh snub, though, especially considering Swift is the godmother to all four of Lively and Reynolds’ kiddos. It turns out, though, that they weren’t the only godchildren left off the guest list.

Jaime King Responds After She And Son Weren’t Invited To Taylor And Travis’ Wedding

With a reported 1,000 people invited to see Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce get “JUST&T MARRIED” at Madison Square Garden on July 3, it’s hard to believe anyone close to The Life of a Showgirl artist would have gotten left behind — especially a friend like Jaime King who was close enough to Swift to make her the godmother to her son Leo.

However, Jaime King’s publicist Jane Owen downplayed any rumors of bad blood following news that the actress and her 10-year-old son had been left off the list. She told Page Six:

Taylor Swift grew close to the Hart of Dixie actress in 2014, with Jaime King asking Swift the next year to be Leo’s godmother. The publicist said the mother and son marked the occasion in their own way:

It’s not unheard of for couples to make weddings a child-free affair, but we do know some little ones were in attendance — Jason and Kylie Kelce’s daughters reportedly served as flower girls.

Where Does Taylor Swift Stand As Godmother To Blake Lively And Ryan Reynolds’ Kids?

Taylor Swift is also the godmother to Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds’ four children — James, 11, Inez, 9, Betty, 6, and Olin, 3 — and wedding slight aside, there have been lots of questions about what that means now that Swift and Lively’s friendship is (seemingly) over. There were even rumors that Swift was considering formally removing herself as the children’s godmother.

Sources for Naughty But Nice podcaster Rob Shuter report that Taylor Swift’s relationship with the Reynolds children has allegedly faded after her drama with their parents. They said:

Taylor Swift still has love for the little ones, another source said, but her proximity to them is dependent on her relationship with Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds — who Travis Kelce allegedly had issues with even before their wives’ legal drama — and being left off of the wedding guest list is reportedly something they will “never forgive” Swift for.

It’s a shame when children get mixed up in their parents’ drama, but at least all seems friendly enough between Taylor Swift and Jaime King.

Sean “Diddy” Combs has had his share of critics as he’s faced legal issues throughout the past several years. However, it could be argued that the person who’s publicly chastised him the most is fellow rapper Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson. During Combs’ trial last summer, Jackson trolled him and continued to do so after he received a mixed verdict and was incarcerated. 50 Cent took that criticism to the next level when he produced a documentary about his rival’s issues, and that now seems to have paid off in a big way.

December 2025 marked the release of Sean Combs: The Reckoning, a four-part docuseries directed by Alexandria Stapleton. The show centers around Combs’ meteoric rise within the industry and the legal problems that have plagued him in recent years. Fiddy served as a producer on the show, and it’s now amongst the 2026 Emmy nominees. The production specifically landed three nominations, and they’re laid out below:

• Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Series
• Outstanding Directing for a Documentary/Nonfiction Program
• Outstanding Picture Editing for a Nonfiction Program

The Reckoning proved to be quite popular amongst Netflix subscription holders when it dropped, and it even managed to surpass Stranger Things on the platform’s Top 10 rankings in the U.S. Aside from that, critics also praised the show, citing its interviews – with subjects like Aubrey O’Day, Kirk Burrowes and Joi Dickerson-Neal – and Stapleton’s direction. Jackson seems to be quite proud of the accomplishment, as he took to X to share the following message:

Despite the praise and awards nominations, the Diddy doc has also drawn the ire of the rapper himself. The “Bad Boy for Life” rapper called out Netflix, Fiddy and co. over the doc and accused the creative team of using “stolen footage” to produce it. Additionally, Combs’ mother, Janice, also laid into the docuseries and refuted claims in the show regarding her supposed parenting methods. It was also reported that Sean was considering filing suit on the grounds of the doc but, as of this writing, that still hasn’t happened.

Sean Combs also specifically took issue with 50 Cent for being involved with the documentary, given their history. Fiddy has been called “petty” for making the doc and for regularly critiquing Combs, but he seems to accept that. While previously discussing his rationale for making the doc, Jackson explained that he wanted to convey that not every member of the rap community condones Combs’ reported offenses. Also, the G-Unit alum has spoken highly of his working relationship with Stapleton.

We still have a little while before we learn whether Curtis Jackson will officially be dubbed an Emmy Award winner. For now, though, the artist seems content having earned a few nominations for the docuseries he was sure would be a hit. We're midway through Week 1 of Big Brother Season 28, and it's already off to a promising start. Dee Valladares, the final mystery Houseguest, won the Week 1 Head of Household and got to work trying to use her skills as a Survivor winner to try and take control of the game.

Dee nominated Yash Patel, Mallory Aurichio, and Taylor Brown for eviction. Of course, one of the two could save themselves by winning the veto competition or by convincing the winner to remove them with the nomination block. CinemaBlend, as always, is watching Big Brother's live feeds, and now that the results of the first veto are here, I'm happy to say we're in for an exciting week!

Mallory Won The Week 1 Veto

Mallory scored a big win for herself in Week 1, successfully preventing what seemed to be an assured eviction. It's so hard to convince other new and unfamiliar cast members to remove somebody from the block during the early days, so she basically needed to win this competition to keep herself from going home. I'm curious to see if she'll be able to find some ground and gain some protection in the coming weeks, or if we'll continue to see her as a recurring target on the block.

Dee Already Has A Plan For Renom, And A Target

As of Sunday afternoon, Dee has pretty consistently told others she plans to nominate Ashley Trail when Mallory pulls herself off the block. While she'll be at risk for eviction, she's not the intended target. For now, it sounds like Yash will be the person Dee is pushing for eviction, assuming all goes to plan.

Of course, with the BB Blockbuster, Yash could also save himself and make the house decide between Ashley and Taylor. As it stands, it seems like Dee would push for Taylor to stay over Ashley, but there's no word on how the rest of the house feels about that. Ideally for both women, it would be ideal if one of them wins the Blockbuster, and Yash can be sent home.

It feels like Yash is in a bad spot, but there's still plenty of time for him to rally for support, or for another Houseguest to dig their own grave. Who knows, maybe someone on slop will fly off the handle, and Dee's plans could change completely. I'm also not ruling out the time travel twist negating an eviction, though I doubt we'd see that happen in the first week.

Big Brother continues with new episodes on CBS on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 8:00 p.m. ET. I'm eager to see which of the nominated Houseguests steps up in these days leading up to eviction, and possibly flips the script that we see coming together post-veto.

When the 2026 Emmy nominations were announced, plenty of surprises cropped up, from Widow’s Bay’s 19 nods to A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms getting recognition, and even a post-cancellation nomination or two for certain shows. But maybe the biggest non-surprise for those paying attention was the complete lack of awareness for the various dramas created and/or produced by Taylor Sheridan. As it usually goes, the prolific creator’s various TV ventures were all but ignored.

Despite having one of the biggest streaming shows currently in production, with Landman’s numbers seemingly only beat by Yellowstone spinoff Dutton Ranch, as well as a major ratings-grabber with CBS’ Marshals, Taylor Sheridan can’t seem to cross the gap from being popular with viewers to being exalted with awards nominations. It seemed like this could have been the year that reversed the trend, too, thanks to Michelle Pfeiffer’s work on The Madison and both Sam Elliott and Billy Bob Thornton’s runs in Landman Season 2, among others.

Unfortunately, despite a reportedly lofty For Your Consideration push meant to sway more voters into praising Sheridan & Co.’s efforts, the vast majority of his creations were not namechecked by nominee announcers Liza Colón-Zayas and Jeff Hiller. In fact, only one of the mega-producer’s series earned a nom, and not for acting, directing or writing.

• Outstanding Stunt Coordination For Comedy Programming - Freddie Poole, Stunt Coordinator (Tulsa King)

A big congrats to Freddie Poole for his third nomination for his Tulsa King work, following previous nods in 2025 and 2023. He didn't win with either of those, but this could be his year.

Granted, it's not like Taylor Sheridan was previously an Emmys king due toYellowstone's success. Quite the opposite, in fact, as the Kevin Costner-led western was only granted a SINGLE nomination during its five-season run, and it was for Outstanding Production Design For A Narrative Contemporary Program (One Hour Or More).

Taylor Sheridan Prophetically Addressed His Emmys Perma-Snubbing A Week Prior To The Latest Noms

Rarely one to deliver extended mainstream media interviews, Taylor Sheridan stopped by The Bill Simmons Podcast to chat up its hugely popular host about the ups and downs of his career journey. And in the midst of that conversation, he summed up his creative process by saying he creates what he wants to see on TV, and that those who partner with him on his "common people" projects are not going to need to install extra wall shelves for Emmy awards. In his words:

To be sure, a lot of shows that DO get Emmy nominations and wins pull off the same things that Sheridan mentions above. Just not in the same ways, and usually without the innate disdain for award shows happening behind the scenes.

Dutton Ranch wrapped up its first season run during the 2026 TV schedule, but assumedly missed the deadline required for that spinoff to be eligible for nominations. Even knowing how much the TV Academy ignores these shows, I still think both Ed Harris and Annette Bening have marginal shots at getting recognized, and I'll be bummed out to learn I'm wrong next year at this time.

Lots of amazing and critically lauded shows go their full runs without winning any Emmys, from The Wire to Better Call Saul to The Good Place. But those examples and many more at least got some Emmy nominations to help ease the pain. Maybe shifting his creative headquarters to NBCUniversal will be the trick that finally gets Taylor Sheridan some Emmy love. Unless it isn't.

Details continue to come out about what happened on the night that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce were “JUST&T MARRIED” at Madison Square Garden, with Swifties having to sort through the AI nonsense and baseless rumors. There are some things that seem safe to state as fact — like Karlie Kloss getting a surprise invite and others almost missing the nuptials when they mistook their invitation for spam. Now, there’s a new rumor floating around about one huge name who reportedly was left off the guest list due to “optics.”

Despite Taylor Swift’s support for Kamala Harris in the presidential election, the former vice president was apparently not invited to witness the biggest celebrity wedding of the year. Wanting to keep politics out of your big day is completely understandable, but according to Naughty But Nice substacker Rob Shuter, Harris was allegedly pretty bummed out about the snub. One source said:

If true, one definitely can’t blame Kamala Harris for having such a relatable reaction, but I also understand why Taylor Swift might have made that decision. Politics would have been such a terrible thing to bring up at what was clearly designed to be a happy, fun-filled event. Also, if anyone were capable of upstaging Swift on her own wedding day, it would have to be someone as notable as the ex-veep. Another insider claimed:

Given how much Taylor Swift reportedly spent on her MSG wedding, I wouldn’t be surprised to know that she’d carefully curated her 1,000-person guest list to include people who would keep the tone light. As another source alleged:

While reportedly no phones were allowed throughout the event, I’d imagine there was still the threat of anonymous reports that could have leaked about who was talking to whom. Again, we don’t know if these reports about Kamala Harris are true but, either way, it would be unfortunate to think about any of your wedding guests not wanting to be seen talking to one another due to political affiliations.

Regardless of who did and did not make the guest list, hopefully the night was filled with talk of Adam Sandler’s advice to Taylor and Travis, the huge late-night pizza delivery to Madison Square Garden and how intimate the evening was, despite the thousand guests, all of the games, raffles, food stations, performances and more.

Yeah, I can definitely understand if Kamala Harris is truly sad she missed out on this one.

A Dungeon Crawler Carl series is on the way to Peacock, and with the summer gap in programming in the 2026 TV schedule, I figured it was high time to read the first book of a series I've seen so many rave about. I would've read it sooner, but I stayed away for far too long out of fear it was too Dungeons & Dragons coded for me.

This is to say, I'm a pretty geeky guy, and while I'm generally down for the best sci-fi shows and dabble in the Game of Thrones franchise, fantasy generally isn't my thing. I've tried the iconic tabletop game a few times, and even variants like Pathfinder, and it just wasn't for me. As such, I assumed the books wouldn't be my style, but I'm so happy to report I couldn't be more wrong. Mild spoilers about the premise if you find yourself in the same boat, but here's what I got wrong about Dungeon Crawler Carl.

I Assumed The Series Borrowed Heavily From Dungeons And Dragons, But Was Wrong

One might understand how I was led into thinking Dungeon Crawler Carl is a book that appeals primarily to the DnD crowd. There's literally artwork of a guy navigating a dungeon on the cover, and there's a quote on the back of my copy from Felicia Day, who is a major face of the tabletop gaming world. I was judging a book by its cover, which is a rookie mistake, so that's on me.

Some might argue in defense of Dungeon Crawler Carl emulating tabletop RPGs, but the premise itself is way more sci-fi. Carl and his ex-girlfriend's cat Donut have their worlds turned upside down along with millions of others when the entirety of the world is seemingly destroyed, instantly killing everyone who was indoors when the event happened. Soon after, he discovers the entirety of Earth's existence was effectively done in order to participate in an intergalactic game show, of which trillions tune in to watch.

The dungeon elements are there, but there's a much bigger sci-fi concept behind the dungeon-crawling premise. Really, this is more like a reality TV meets video game premise, and as someone who is preparing to watch Big Brother Season 28 on my Xbox Series X, that's exactly my wheelhouse.

Dungeon Crawler Carl Caters To A Specific Audience, And If You're In It, It's Fantastic

I love Dungeon Crawler Carl, but I do wonder if it'll be able to find a big audience when it premieres for those with a Peacock subscription. The first book, and I only highlight that one because it's the only one I've read, is just drenched in references that gamer millennials who grew up using the internet in the 2000s would fully appreciate.

Then again, I was able to jive with The Amazing Digital Circus, despite it being something my daughter was more into. Maybe those of a younger age will look past the references and see the wild violence that may just rival the best horror movies if executed the same way as it was in the books. I'll be watching either way, but I think for this series to have a long run, it's going to need a big audience.

I'm keeping my eyes peeled for updates on the Dungeon Crawler Carl series, and other upcoming book-to-screen adaptations that come along the way. I'm also learning not to judge a book by its cover, a mistake I won't be making again anytime soon.

Superhero fans have been waiting a while for Batman: Caped Crusader Season 2 and, now, it’s finally set to premiere amid the 2026 TV schedule. The first trailer for the new season teases the introductions of several classic villains but, of course, the most iconic among them is the Joker. The Dark Knight’s archenemy briefly appears at the tail end of Season 1, and he’s now expected to make his full debut this time around. Now, I have all kinds of feelings after an EP details the creative team’s take on the character.

Through the years, there have been plenty of portrayals of the Joker across TV and cinema, with each interpretation bringing something new to the table. It sounds like the Caped Crusader team is also striving to do something “different” when it comes to their version of the Clown Prince of Crime. Ironically, though, when executive producer James Tucker spoke to SFX Magazine on CinemaBlend about this fresh take on Mr. J., he actually explained how it harkened back to the character’s roots:

In the realm of animation, shows like Batman: The Brave and the Bold and The Batman, have depicted a somewhat more gleeful takes on Joker, who enjoy inflicting chaos on Gotham City. Mark Hamill’s iconic version of the baddie has more layers but, for the most part, he can also be campy and quippy (when he’s not being downright scary). So far, Caped Crusader’s version of the antagonist isn’t so much interested in fooling someone with a bang flag gun than he is talking about the complexities of the human condition, and I love that.

The Season 2 trailer features hints of dialogue from Joker, who calls Batman to tell him he’s “come to awaken [him] and to show [him] something.” When the Bat asks what the mysterious man wants to show, the purple-clad baddie says, “what you are.” Check out the trailer for yourself below:

Clearly, this is a man who’s eager to not simply toy with the World’s Greatest Detective but to understand what makes him tick. The creative team is still keeping details on the character mostly under wraps (including the identity of the person voicing him). Still, Tucker shared more about making a unique version of this larger-than-life bad guy:

Considering how many versions of the Gotham City rogue have been created over the years, I’m excited to see that the Caped Crusader team is going for something so new. What makes me nervous, though, is how the people of the aforementioned town are going to suffer due to his machinations. During his brief scene in the Season 1 finale’s epilogue, the villain proved how sadistic he could be by killing several victims as part of his Joker toxin experiments.

Joker, of course, will be accompanied by a number of other notable villains like The Riddler, the Mad Hatter, Poison Ivy, Scarecrow and the returning Harley Quinn. But, of course, the clown’s presence is sure to loom large over the narrative and, with any luck, fans will be in for some serious action and drama. As Mr. J says in the trailer, “shall we begin?”

All episodes of Batman: Caped Crusader Season 2 will drop on July 31 and will be available to Prime Video subscription holders. In the meantime, prepare for the vigilante’s new adventures by checking out the first season on Prime now. Fans can also read up on other upcoming DC shows.

From the outside looking in, getting an invitation to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding at Madison Square Garden must have felt like getting a golden ticket. However, for some, it also felt unreal. That’s actually an accurate way to describe it too, because according to a few wedding guests, they really thought their invitations were a scam.

According to BBC Radio 1’s Greg James, his invitation arrived in the form of a link. While chatting on the radio (via People), he explained that it came “in the middle of the night” right before he was about to do a 620-mile bike ride for charity. At first, he just thought it was wild, saying:

Then, a listener asked if he thought the invite was fake. Even though Swift publicly invited James to her wedding when he interviewed her back in October, it is still a very wild concept to actually get invited. So, yeah, the radio host did think it was a scam, even when he was on his way to New York for the ceremony, as he said:

You know, if I were a guest, I also wouldn’t have believed I was invited to Taylor Swift’s wedding until I was literally sitting inside MSG and listening to Adam Sandler officiate it. I mean, I didn’t even fully believe they were married until I saw the “JUST&T MARRIED” billboard outside the venue, because the whole event had been surrounded by so much secrecy and speculation.

Anyway, all that is to say, I get why guests didn’t fully believe they got an invite. The high-profile nature of the event and the fact that invitations were sent out digitally are certainly good reasons to be suspicious.

Those facts worked against a potential pair of guests too. According to Melissa Garner Lee, her husband, Garret “Jacknife” Lee, accidentally deleted their invite because he “thought it was spam.” He worked on the Red album with Swift, and his wife was aghast that they didn’t go to the wedding because he ignored the invitation. Writing more about this in HuffPost, she explained:

She went on to say that her partner had gotten a text from Swift’s manager, but he “didn’t respond to it” because it “didn’t sound like him.”

Listen, in an age of spam calls and texts and in a world where AI wedding photos are common, I get why he didn’t believe it. However, in this case, he really should have, 'cause it was real.

Although his suspicion wasn’t unwarranted, as Maren Morris also didn’t believe her invite was real at first, as she said on SiriusXM’s The Morning Mashup:

At the time, she didn’t confirm if it was real. However, Morris did go to the wedding, and she even posted a photo of Swift and Kelce’s wedding favor to prove it. So, I guess she eventually trusted the text and realized she really did get an invitation.

A bunch of people must have gone through that too, seeing as there were reportedly 1,000 people at the ceremony that’s also been described as “intimate.”

Overall, these stories are all quite amusing. It’s undeniable that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding was one of the most highly anticipated events of the year, and it was shrouded in secrecy for a long time. So, yeah, getting a coveted invitation (that came by way of text or link) would be pretty unbelievable…to the point that it’s worth wondering if it's a scam.

One of the most striking things about the Legally Blonde prequel TV series Elle, which is available to stream with a Prime Video subscription, is just how much Elle Woods newcomer Lexi Minetree looks like Reese Witherspoon. Don’t take my word for it. Witherspoon herself posted on Instagram to show that comparison pics between the two are pretty spot-on. But the similarities don’t just stop there.

In an interview with Variety, Jason Moore, who directed the first two episodes of Elle, noted that Reese Witherspoon and Lexi Minetree are also the same height. He said:

To get the nerves of the initial in-person meeting out of the way, Reese Witherspoon attended a table read to break the ice with the cast of the series on the 2026 TV schedule. By the time she got to set for the scene where Elle gets knocked in the face and Miles (Jacob Moskovitz) takes her to the hospital, she was able to just be a part of the day, which included 200 extras.

Reese Witherspoon was also generous with advice that she gave to Lexi Minetree, to always choose kindness and never go low, even when other people do. How very Elle Woods of her.

The best kind of prequel is the one that allows its lead to understand the character and follow their own instincts, never forgetting where they came from, or in this case, where they’re going. Minetree has revealed that she watched Legally Blonde somewhere around 150 times, which shows that she’s quite the overachiever herself. And she had the same dedication when it came to perfecting the voice of Elle Woods. Moore said:

A lot of the critics have objections to the Legally Blonde prequel series, which I don’t agree with. Personally, I found Elle delightfully entertaining. As someone who’s spent time in the Seattle music scene, it was full of nostalgia that brought a smile to my face and warmed my heart. And watching Lexi Minetree pay tribute to Reese Witherspoon’s iconic work made me excited to see what she does as the character continues her prequel journey.

Elle’s love triangle, a tribute to The Breakfast Club, Bruiser, and all sorts of silly fun were present when the series hit the streaming schedule. While you’re waiting for Season 2, you have plenty of time to rewatch Elle and Legally Blonde to do your own Lexi Minetree and Reese Witherspoon comparison.

The Five-Star Weekend, which you can watch with a Peacock subscription, continues the streamer's tradition of having a fascinating collection of miniseries and original programming. It follows Hollis (Jennifer Garner) as she invites four of her closest friends away for a weekend to escape her grief. The series has plenty of heartfelt moments and twists.

The book-to-screen adaptation is enjoyable but not one of Peacock’s best TV shows. However, some of its strongest elements are its exploration of womanhood, grief, friendship, and the boundaries and restrictions people set for themselves.

The Five-Star Weekend is a lot more wholesome than many of the best female rage movies, but it still feels like one.

Most Of The Characters Are Oppressed In Some Way By A System Or Traditions

Each of the main characters is dealing with a crisis. Hollis is managing her grief, while Brooke (D'Arcy Carden) is dealing with her husband’s scandal and discovering a new part of herself. Tatum (Chloë Sevigny) has a major health scare, Gigi (Gemma Chan) has a huge secret, and Dru-Anne (Regina Hall) has a major PR problem. They’re all trying to handle their issues in their own ways.

However, it’s not leading to the healthiest coping mechanisms. For example, Gigi is lying to everyone and setting herself up for heartbreak. Despite their destructive choices, a lot of their issues are tied to the men they associate with or to societal standards.

Brooke’s husband is especially oppressing her. Her rage and transformation come when she’s finally with a supportive group of women. Gigi and Hollis are both in love with a dead man who, in a way, betrayed them both. The gift he gives them is each other. However, the tragedy of it all is that he also tears them apart.

Most female rage movies involve some sort of crusade or act of revenge against those who harm. It could also involve just unhinged behavior to fit into societal norms. The Five-Star Weekend is about women breaking free of chains. Chains of past relationships, societal norms, and the boxes they and others put them in. Female rage can come in how characters change their lives after experiencing heartbreaking losses: personal, career-wise, or image-wise. It’s about women taking back their power.

All the women in The Five-Star Weekend fall into that category.

The Female Friendship Is What Empowers Them But Is Imperfect

Great movies about female friendships show unbreakable bonds. The Five-Star Weekend shows the opposite. All of these bonds are not as strong as they were. They are shaky, but they’re ultimately what gives these women the power to change.

The latter half of the series really conveys how transformative this weekend is for these women and their friendship. Hollis and Tatum even renew their friendship spark. I am not sure if this Peacock series does justice to the book, but I hope it got the bonds right. In many female rage movies, something happens (a tragedy) to force the protagonist on their journey. In The Five-Star Weekend, a tragedy happens, but the women encourage each other on their journey.

The Five-Star Weekend Isn't A Show About Revenge, But Healing, And That Can Be A Greater Revenge

The Five-Star Weekend is about healing. These characters aren’t trying to make anyone pay for hurting them but are finding a way to live again, despite pain and barriers. Many female rage movies are all about revenge as a way of healing. This TV show proves that no longer being held down by hurt can be revenge.

Sometimes an actor must suffer for their art. But being a part of a TV sensation on the 2026 TV schedule can make it all worth it. So, to that point, to play Briar University’s most charming playboy Dean Di Laurentis, Off Campus star Stephen Kalyn is keeping his hockey skills sharp, his six-pack abs toned, and his hair blonde. That blonde hair is where the suffering potentially comes in, because it's no easy feat for him to keep up, seeing as he's a natural brunette.

Unlike Dean Di Laurentis, Stephen Kalyn is brunette, which means he spends a fair amount of time in a chair with bleach on his head. During a panel at Prime Video’s Obsessed Fest in Los Angeles, he joked with co-star Belmont Cameli about the struggle to strip the color from his hair. According to EW, he said:

After sprinkling Dean and Allie’s relationship into Season 1 (which you can stream with an Amazon Prime subscription) and giving viewers a taste of where things could go next, Off Campus is jumping into the deep end with a blonde Kalyn.

In Episode 6 of this sexually explicit Prime Video program, we got to flash back to what Dean and Allie had been up to while Hannah and Garrett were falling in love with each other, and audiences were falling in love with them. Multiple sex scenes and a moment in a bathtub rounded out their fling, covering a lot of ground from their novel and laying the groundwork for their season.

With more screentime focused on Dean and Allie in Season 2, and the opportunity to really dig deep into the unspoken emotions between them, Stephen Kalyn will have to keep every inch of Dean on point, including the color of his hair.

As a natural brunette myself, who has spent time in a hair salon chair to get my hair bleached blonde and then dyed raspberry pink, I feel his pain. It’s a lot of work, and you have to treat your hair right. Kalyn confirmed this when he said:

Thankfully, Kalyn does not have to stay blonde all the time. Between seasons, the cast went on a massive press tour to promote the series, during which the Dean actor clearly took a break from the bleach. To illustrate the difference between Kalyn’s natural hair and Dean’s hair, check out this clip of him talking about the show during an interview with CinemaBlend:

Off Campus never feels gratuitous, but it is also not the type of show that shies away from getting its cast naked and sharing intimate moments. That means Kalyn will also have to keep up Dean’s physical appearance as well. And yes, that means his blonde hair routine will have to stay in place.

Neither Rome nor Dean Di Laurentis were built in a day. From getting out on the ice for hockey scenes, to always being ready to take his shirt off, to keeping his hair bleached the correct shade of blonde, you can’t accuse Stephen Kalyn of not being all-in on what it takes to play Dean authentically.

Stranger Things ended over six months ago, but for the actors, they had to say goodbye to playing their characters way before that. Filming on the fifth and final season of the Netflix hit wrapped in late 2024, and understandably, everyone was emotional. (And the Duffer Brothers’ sentimental statement didn’t help.) Since then, the cast has been clear about how difficult it's been to bid farewell to this project, and Finn Wolfhard got real about how depressing it was when the show ended.

Even though Stranger Things had just five seasons, it took close to a decade to make them. That’s a long time to be working on one show, especially for the young cast who grew up on the set. Over the years, they all got very close, and in some ways, this time felt like school to them, as Wolfhard told The Guardian:

Well, much like school, Stranger Things eventually had to come to a close, and the kids had to graduate. However, with the time they had left, they made sure to spend it wisely with each other. However, this also made saying goodbye that much harder:

It’s never easy to close a chapter that happened during such formative years and that made an impact on so many people. And when you consider how much time had passed between Seasons 1 and 5, it makes perfect sense why it was "depressing" for everyone to come to terms with Stranger Things ending. Even I’m still mourning six months after the divisive finale.

I do agree with Wolfhard about ending the show when it did. A lot of shows these days don’t get the luxury of ending on their own terms. So, some season finales are crafted as series finales if the writers don’t know what the future holds. In Stranger Things’ case, the Duffer Brothers announced the end of the series in 2022, a few months before Season 4 was released and almost three years before Season 5 even premiered. They made the choice to end the show and told fans themselves. It might have been heartbreaking to see it end, but it was definitely for the better. And Wolfhard knows it.

Filming the final season must have been both fun and hard, knowing that at the end of it, they wouldn’t be back for another season. Even though the cast and crew had a couple of years to prepare themselves, when filming eventually wrapped, I can only imagine the kind of emotions that were brought up. Then, having to go through it all again the following year during the press tour was probably even harder.

At the very least, the bond Wolfhard has with his fellow co-stars will hopefully never go away. And as for us fans, we can always watch Stranger Things with a Netflix subscription.

There are mixed feelings when any TV series comes to an end, as it’s impossible to make everyone happy about each character and storyline. And The Umbrella Academy, which is available to stream with a Netflix subscription, was no exception to that according to fan reactions.

But we live in a world where TV series are rebooted and revisited, so it’s not surprising that Ryan Lu asked Aidan Gallagher, aka Number Five, in an interview for Delulu, about whether he’d ever want to see The Umbrella Academy return in some way. And Gallagher revealed he would be on board, if it were to come back as an animated series. He said:

After three well-received seasons of The Umbrella Academy, based on the comic by My Chemical Romance singer Gerard Way and artist Gabriel Bá, opinions about the fan favorite series started to change as it neared its end. The wonderfully odd tale about the Hargreeves siblings with world-altering powers questioned whether you can really save the world and yourselves. While it didn’t suffer the fate of many beloved series that Netflix has canceled, it did shorten the original plan from ten episodes to six and left some storylines feeling incomplete and unsatisfying. The shorter season left fans hurt and wanting more, and an animated series is the perfect solution.

Throughout the run of the live-action Umbrella Academy series, Aidan Gallagher had the wild task of playing an aged man in his 13-year-old body. Being a boy with the ability to jump through space and time sounds cool. Until you get stuck in a future apocalyptic world and are unable to get back until after you’ve survived on your own for decades, only to have to revert to your teenage body when you return to your timeline. Aidan Gallagher’s nuanced performance was a standout among the talented ensemble.

Unfortunately, an animated version of The Umbrella Academy is destined for the 2026 TV schedule, but it should be, and could potentially show up down the line. Animated TV series like X-Men ’97 and What If…? show that there’s an appetite for showcasing comic book characters in such a way. The promise of delving deeper into the things that you can’t do in live action, either because they’d be too expensive or just not possible to pull off, is certainly intriguing.

It would also help bring the cast together because they could record their voice performances from pretty much anywhere while they’re working on other projects. An animated series could also dig back into threads that weren’t fully finished in the series to provide a more complete conclusion. The Umbrella Academy ended without answering the question of what happened to Sloane Hargreeves (Genesis Rodriguez) or addressing her fate directly, and it would help ease fan frustration if they could dedicate an animated episode to the Sparrow Academy member that Luther (Tom Hopper) fell for.

Yes, there are plenty of new and upcoming original shows available on Netflix, but an order of animated The Umbrella Academy episodes is definitely something that I’d check out. Fingers crossed, as I try to will that into being.

After Will Ferrell joined the ranks of celebrities like Usher, Patrick and Brittany Mahomes, Charli XCX and Sabrina Carpenter to do a SKIMS ad, of course, his kids reacted. Yep, the comedian’s sons had some words about their father’s campaign that featured him in his tighty-whities, and those words include “super sexy.” Now, Will has responded to his kids’ remarks in an A+ way.

So, Will Ferrell’s SKIMS campaign was also promoting his show on Netflix’s 2026 schedule, The Hawk. Therefore, along with the underwear, he’s also rocking a “Hawk” visor and a necklace that screams early 2000s. It’s quite the look, and the ad itself is hilarious. So, it feels fitting that his sons, Magnus and Mattias Ferrell, who are 22 and 19, respectively, also leaned into all of that, as they told ET:

• Magnus: Super sexy.
• Mattias: Zero notes.
• Magnus: Sexiest Man Alive, GQ.
• Mattias: He's got a great body. We thought he did a great job with that.

Considering how much the Ferrell family loves a bit, this reaction makes a lot of sense. I mean, Will literally showed up at his son’s frat and DJ’d for a bit, and he’s done several bits at sporting events, such as dressing up as a sad Buddy the Elf at a hockey game. He knows how to commit to a bit, and his family clearly supports him in this endeavor.

Of course, this whole situation got even funnier when the journalist asked Will about his kids’ reactions to his SKIMS ad. After he learned that they approved of it and thought it was “sexy,” he said:

All around, this whole situation is hilarious and incredible marketing for both SKIMS and The Hawk. As mentioned earlier, Will is dressed as his character in the SKIMS campaign, and the interviews with him and his sons happened at the premiere for The Hawk.

The show in question premieres on the 2026 TV schedule on July 16, and it will be available to stream with a Netflix subscription. In it, Will Ferrell plays Lonnie Hawkins, 2004’s number one golfer, and he’s attempting to make a career comeback. Despite the fact that his “body says retire,” as the synopsis notes, and his son is “golf’s new golden boy,” Will’s character wants to keep competing. Alongside Will Ferrell, the show also stars fellow SNL alums Molly Shannon and Chris Parnell, as well as Jimmy Tatro and Luke Wilson.

So, all in all, this feels like it’ll be a hilarious show, and I really hope some of the energy this wild and silly SKIMS situation has is in it.

There was no doubt in my mind that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding cost a pretty penny. I had assumed that it would since the moment the pop star and football player got engaged. However, now we really do know it was an expensive event to put on, as the amount of money the couple allegedly paid New York City has been revealed.

Obviously, a wedding at Madison Square Garden wouldn’t be cheap. However, it was still shocking to learn from TMZ that Swift and Kelce allegedly paid the city of New York $60,000 for a permit to close the street by the venue.

For context, 7th Avenue by MSG was closed for this wedding. That’s a major street in a very busy part of Midtown Manhattan, and a lot of people use it (which is allegedly why New Yorkers were upset about the event), so it tracks that it’d be pricey to shut down. However, the couple allegedly wanted to do it so their guests could get in and out of the venue without having to worry about traffic and lots of people.

Notably, word about these permits to close the streets around The Garden was what convinced me that this wedding was really happening. The New York Times reported the news, noting that the couple requested to have the streets shut down from July 2 to midday July 4, seeing as their wedding was on July 3.

The $60K permit was not the only expensive item on the wedding “Wi$h Li$t” though. According to the report, it cost about $1 million per night to rent MSG. Plus, the couple reportedly spent $4,000 on pizzas from Mama’s, and it’s been alleged that one of Swift’s bags that cost $6,700 was raffled off, while the couple also apparently gave away Cartier watches and a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle.

So, while Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding has been described as “intimate,” it was still a very big and very expensive event.

All around, the party seemed to go off without a hitch, and the wedding left many guests swooning. And it wasn’t just Swift and Kelce who guests were gushing about; there’s also been high praise for Adam Sandler, who officiated the ceremony.

Now, the question becomes: When will we get to see real photos of this opulent event? I’ve seen the images of the closed streets. I want to see the inside of Madison Square Garden. So far, nothing official has been released, and there have been AI wedding photos making the rounds. However, considering the fact that we got engagement pictures and lots of guests have posted about going to the wedding, I’m optimistic that Swift and Kelce will give us a peek into their big (and spendy) day.

For now, though, I’ll take the details as they come in. And today, that detail had to do with the massive amount of money the newlyweds spent to obtain a permit that would allow them to close the streets around MSG during their big day.

Jennifer Lopez has kept very busy in 2026, which means we’ve gotten a lot of darling red carpet looks from the actress. Over the last few months, we’ve seen her try out many lovely dresses thanks to Netflix’s Office Romance (plus one fit we still don’t think was summer-appropriate). I thought she might take a little bit of a break from celebrity fashion for a bit, but I was very wrong.

Paris Fashion Week beckoned for some big names already. We already saw Emma Corrin and Bad Bunny dress to the nines in Schiaparelli, for one example. In comparison, Lopez did not go for an avant-garde look in 2026. Instead, she popped up at the Celia Kritharioti show in a sheer dress that was romantic enough it would have fit right in during the Office Romance press tour. It’s also giving Noughties vibes. Take a look.

The actress and singer eventually popped up at the event with her younger sister Lynda, who is one year her junior. Both looks featured feathers, beading and more. They made a good pair.

Separately, Lopez shared a post on her social that took a closer look at the darling way she had her hair styled, complete with the perfect little ribbon.

JLo has actually been in Paris for the past few days and posting up a storm. And why not? Paris Fashion week is the perfect opportunity to go glam and try out new fashion personas.

Not that she needs more fashion cache. She's pulled together many daring outfits over the years. Some personal favorites of mine were the sheer, skin-toned dress she pulled off for the 2026 Golden Globes, the time she threw back to Maid in Manhattan with a pretty sculpted number, and of course, her iconic green Versace Dress. The latter has also been coming up a bit more as the early aughts become trendy again, and appear in all corners of pop culture, including the recent Amazon series Off Campus.

The green dress may be on another level, but Lopez has remained a fashion icon for decades. She's an actress who notably works hard to stay fit, and I like to think it’s in the name of fashion. Given how much she’s been posting in recent days, I’m hoping this is not the last we see of the actress on a red carpet this summer, but I’m glad she’s keeping the romantic looks going even after Office Romance dropped off Netflix’s Top 10.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is switching up things with James T. Kirk's character, but fans can lower their phasers because this sounds like a great change. With Season 4 set to stream for those with a Paramount+ subscription on July 23rd, I was surprised to learn that we'll get an appearance by a Wrath of Khan character I didn't see coming.

David Marcus, Kirk's son, will appear in Strange New Worlds Season 4, as revealed by SFX Magazine on CinemaBlend in its cover interview. Henry Alonso Myers revealed the writing team wanted to do an episode that will show Kirk as a father to a younger David. He talked about the reason for the episode, hoping to add to, rather than retcon, the story of Kirk's son:

David Marcus was the love-child of Kirk and Dr. Carol Marcus, both of whom only occasionally saw each other due to their long-distance and on-and-off relationship. Rather than invite the implication that Kirk didn't really have a role in David's life until he was an adult, he was killed off in the third Star Trek movie, so we get robbed of a ton of father/son time.

So, when it comes to Strange New Worlds, what they're doing is not a retcon; instead, it's giving attention to something that the original series hadn't tackled during its run. Let's be real, Star Trek already has a history of showcasing imperfect fathers, with characters like Worf never getting to fully redeem their shortcomings as a dad. That won't happen with Kirk, as Star Trek: Strange New Worlds will supplement what we know about him as a dad with more in this upcoming episode:

The goal of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds was always to talk about what came before Kirk's captaincy on the Enterprise. While there's questions of whether Paramount+ would consider announcing a sequel to the series before the 2026 TV schedule ends is still up in the air, I think episodes like this could ultimately help show fans and executives why such a show should exist.

In that, Star Trek: Year One, or whatever it is eventually called, will never actually replace the original series. At the same time, it can strengthen and modernize it by introducing story arcs that help connect the dots for certain things shows made in the '60s weren't as focused on.

In addition to that, Strange New Worlds has plans to show us dinosaurs and an episode in which the crew is turned into puppets. Honestly, I'm just thrilled they're finding ways to give us something abstract and fun, while adding more emotional beats as well. The premiere can't get here soon enough!

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is coming to Paramount+ starting on July 23rd. I can't wait for the new episodes, even if it moves us one step closer to the abbreviated final season.

There’s one character on Dutton Ranch who is simultaneously the person I trust most and the person I have the most questions about. Thankfully, we’ll get to learn more about them in Season 2 of Dutton Ranch, according to Cole Hauser. So, now that he’s confirmed that this character will be “integral” as the Yellowstone show continues, I’ve got some questions I need answered.

Now, the character I’m talking about here is Ed Harris’ Everett McKinney, the friendly veterinarian who also has quite the history with the Jackson family. He proved to be a great ally to Rip and Beth during the season. However, his past makes me wonder where exactly his allegiances lie. Thankfully, Hauser’s comments make me believe that we’ll get to explore all that as this spinoff continues.

Cole Hauser Made It Clear Ed Harris Will Play A Big Role In Season 2

This conversation about the role Harris will play in Season 2 came up as Cole Hauser and Kelly Reilly were discussing the end of Dutton Ranch’s first season and how their relationship with Annette Bening’s Beulah could change. Considering Mariano feels like the true villain of the show now, the Beth actress mentioned that there’s room for her and Rip to “collaborate” with Beulah. That led to Hauser bringing up Everett and his potential role in the story. He told TV Insider:

Well, that’s very exciting to hear, and I only got more enthused as Kelly Reilly noted that Season to is “going to feel very much more Ed’s show.” She explained that alongside her and Hauser, Harris, and Bening lead the series. Overall, these comments made it clear that both Beulah and Everett will be even bigger players in Season 2. And that is great to hear since I feel like we don’t know that much about Ed Harris’ character.

I Have Two Questions About Everett

As Season 1 of Dutton Ranch aired on the 2026 TV schedule (you can stream it with a Paramount+ subscription), we got lots of kernels about Everett. We know he’s a veteran, we know he lost a child, we know he’s loyal to both Rip and Beth and Beulah, and we know he and the Jackson matriarch have a complicated past. However, we have not dived into any of this in a super in-depth way. So, knowing that we could in Season 2, I have a few questions.

Can We Learn More About Everett’s Past With Beulah?

While Beulah and Everett’s current fling was explored in Season 1, I would love to learn more about their past. I want flashbacks to how they met, and I want more information on what brought them together and drove them a part. I feel like there’s a really rich story there that we’ve just barely scratched the surface of, and I’m desperate for more. Plus, who wouldn’t want to see Annette Bening and Ed Harris share more scenes together?

Will Ed Harris’ Character Pick Between Beulah, Rip And Beth, Or Will He Continue To Support Everyone?

One of the biggest reasons why Everett is such an interesting character is that he kind of plays both sides. While he’s very loyal to Rip and Beth, he also clearly loves Beulah. And because of that, he’s in a fascinating position.

In Season 1, he sided with Rip and Beth. However, I always felt like I was waiting for another shoe to drop, and his loyalty to them would be questioned due to his affection for the leader of the Jackson family. So, I’m curious to see if that happens in Season 2.

Or maybe Everett proves to be the person who brings the Duttons and Beulah together. That’s probably more likely. However, because this is Yellowstone, I can’t shake the idea that he could have a dark side that leads him to make a game-changing choice.

Now, hopefully, these questions will be answered when Dutton Ranch returns for Season 2. However, for now, I’m just grateful to know that Ed Harris won’t just be returning to the show; he’ll be playing an “integral” part in it.

Both on and off the small screen, John Stamos has had one foot in the world of music, and one in acting. (His relationship with the Beach Boys is still going strong.) He can sing, play instruments, and has shown off his dance skills a time or two. I mean, he’s even danced and sang on ABC for Disney’s The Little Mermaid Live. But will he ever show those talents off on Dancing with the Stars? Don’t hold your breath.

One might think Stamos would be inspired to join the reality competition due to several of his former Full House and Fuller House co-stars having competed. (As well as other fan-favorite TGIF actors.) But when the Scream Queens vet appeared on an episode of Bobby Bones’ The BobbyCast (which can be listened to in full on Spotify), the subject of DWTS came up, and Stamos made it quite clear that it’s not his destiny.

When asked how often the producers have called to pitch him on appearing, Stamos said it’s a constant thing. In his words:

When Bones pointed out that the actor's kids would probably be impressed with him if he vied for the Mirrorball trophy, Stamos joked that he already does enough for them.

As far as why he's so dead-set against tearing up the Dancing with the Stars stage, it sounds like he's skittish about setting himself up for a potential injury. (Which Full House's Jodie Sweetin has some unfortunate experience with.) He explained:

Stamos was very dismissive at even the thought of going out and risking the good health of his tootsie-wootsies. Which I can certainly understand being a concern for any entertainer who's expected to be on their feet at any given moment. Perhaps if he had any personal stake in proving to the world that he couild do it, it might happen, but such stakes have not yet surfaced within him.

With the topic still fixed on DWTS, Bobby Bones came very close to blowing his guest's brain wide open with the reveal that he'd not only competed (for Season 27), but that he also won out. Which then took another amusing turn as Stamos connected the dots to grasp that was the same season where his Fuller House co-star Juan Pablo Di Pace was part of arguably the most controversial elimination in DWTS’ history, to the point where rules were changed to avoid similarly baffling outcomes in the future.

Once that realization set in, Stamos loudly chastised Bones for surviving until the end despite all the perfect scores Di Pace and pro Cheryl Burke earned. He went off with:

Stamos brought up the fact that some of the Netflix show's stars went to the episode tapings to support Di Pace, but he was never part of that squad. It would appear simply walking into the soundstage would cause him unending harm.

The actor and his pro partner were eliminated ahead of the final four during that season. Previously, Candace Cameron Bure competed in Season 18 in 2014, coming in 3rd place, while Jodie Sweetin cut a few rugs back in 2016 for Season 22, coming in 6th place.

Dancing with the Stars: The Next Pro is set to debut on ABC on July 13. I wouldn't expect to see anyone on there that even looks like John Stamos.

Pop culture may never know another embarrassment of riches quite like having three different Kaitlin Olson TV characters to look forward to in a single year, but my goodness, everyone who has watched the trifecta of High Potential, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Hacks can attest to these splendors. Speaking of the latter, her ever-hilarious performance as DJ Vance was once again championed when the 2026 Emmy nominations were announced, as she landed her third Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series nom.

This latest recognition marks Olson’s fourth Emmy nomination overall, though she has yet to secure a win. (Presumably due to otherworldly and purely evil forces, or perhaps just catastrophic human foible.) Fans know she’s more than worthy, however, which is partially why High Potential is one of the most-watched scripted shows to hit the 2026 TV schedule, even if the Emmy voters aren’t caught up yet.

Olson shared the news on social media, which understandably drew a bunch of positive reactions and fans pointing out just how deserving she is.

Naturally, some of those comments came from not just the adoring audience members watching from home, but also actors that have worked with Kaitlin Olson across all three of her current shows. (Or currently Emmy-eligible, at least, since Hacks has concluded.) Check out how the actress' famed colleagues shared the love, with one fellow nominee voicing her hopes for Olson to win out.

All five seasons of Hacks can be streamed via HBO Max subscription, and it's worth it even if DJ isn't in the majority of episodes. Meanwhile, all seasons of High Potential and It's Always Sunny can be streamed via Hulu subscription and Disney+ subscription. Hopefully we'll be seeing Sweet Dee back sooner than later, though Morgan won't be helping the LAPD with their efforts until ABC's midseason lineup in 2027.

While I fully expected The Pitt to get tons of 2026 Emmy nominations, clearly, the nods were surprising to the cast. Of the 26 total noms the series received, eight actors were recognized in the big acting categories. Five of those eight are first-time nominees, and all of them had funny yet sincere reactions, with one actress in particular not being totally convinced all this was real.

Now, before we get into the reactions, let’s go over the nominations for these actors. Katherine LaNasa, Shawn Hatosy and Noah Wyle, all of whom won last year, were nominated again for their performances as Dana, Abbot and Robby, respectively. Alongside the returning winners, Taylor Dearden (Mel), Fiona Dourif (McKay), Sepideh Moafi (Al-Hashimi), Patrick Ball (Langdon) and Gerran Howell (Whitaker) received their first nominations for their supporting performances in The Pitt.

So, they all reacted to the news, with Fiona Dourif specifically not believing it at first.

Fiona Dourif Didn’t Believe She Got An Emmy Nomination At First

Considering the number of 2025 Emmys won by The Pitt, the acclaim for Season 2 and the sheer popularity of the series on the 2026 TV schedule, lots of 2026 nominations were anticipated. However, the number of actors who got nods was a bit surprising. In fact, Fiona Dourif, who plays Cassie McKay, was so shocked she didn’t believe it at first, as she wrote on Instagram:

Well, that’s both hilarious and very sweet. I also can’t say I blame her. If I were an actor and learned I had gotten my first Emmy nomination, I too would not believe it at first. Thankfully, enough people told Dourif it was real that she eventually believed it. However, the shock she referenced in her post didn't go away, as you can see in the final image of her Instagram post:

Now, while this reaction was my favorite, Dourif’s fellow co-stars and first-time nominees also had some priceless reactions we need to talk about.

Overall, The Pitt cast’s reactions to this news were incredible. They were equal parts wholesome and funny, and overall they were all very grateful for the recognition. To prove that point, here are excerpts from the statements posted by the four other first-time nominees:

Well, this is all so wonderful to see. All these actors, and the entire ensemble of The Pitt, are remarkable, and they’re very deserving of this recognition. I’m thrilled that they’re all so excited about this news, and I was pleasantly surprised by how funny their reactions to it were.

Now, I can’t wait to see how they react if they take home the gold. So, to see if The Pitt some Emmys this year, be sure to tune into the ceremony on September 14 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC or with a Peacock subscription.

It didn't take me long after my first viewing of Project Hail Mary to realize I was not going to be able to get enough of Rocky, which is part of the reason why I returned to the theater to rewatch the film more than once after the 2026 movie's release. James Ortiz's delightful character is the gift who keeps on giving, and not just in the actual movie. For the film's theatrical release, we saw funny and adorable video promos featuring the Eridian character. Now that the movie is streaming, Rocky is back for a new video, and this one has me begging Amazon MGM Studios for more.

Timed for the Prime Video streaming arrival of Phil Lord and Christopher Miller's book-to-screen adaptation of Andy Weir's sci-fi novel, Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios released a 2+ minute video, which shows Rocky watching a clip from Project Hail Mary. Check it out below:

Listen, some people might not appreciate watching Rocky state a lot of the obvious non-stop as he watches himself and his friend Ryland Grace (Ryan Gosling) on screen, but I'm here for it. I love how perplexed he gets at the part when Grace gets scared by his first sight of Rocky, and I love the gestures Rocky does (including his solo fist-bump and excited feet-taps) while talking. Rocky's body language is one of his best features, so having him visible on screen for the reaction clip is a big part of why it works. I could honestly sit for at least an hour of Rocky watching this movie and sharing what's going through his mind, if not the entire movie.

"Words Of Encouragement."

Is it too much to hope that this could be a snippet of a bonus feature for the home video release? Probably, considering it isn't mentioned on Amazon's listing for the Project Hail Mary Blu-ray, and Rocky specifically shouts out YouTube in the video.

The home video release happens in August, with the limited edition Steelbook hitting shelves (at Amazon, exclusively) in October. Tragically, neither mentions any kind of commentary featuring Rocky. The closest thing we might get to that would be the "Earth's Favorite Eridian" feature, which I'm assuming is some kind of featurette focused on Rocky. Will it merely be about Rocky, or will it feature the actual Eridian in character? Either way, that feature sounds like a win, but hear me out...

Amazon, Please Friend, Give Us A Rocky Commentary (With Ryan Gosling, Because I'm Greedy)

This is an Amazon MGM Studios movie, so this request does feel doable, assuming James Ortiz and Ryan Gosling were game for it, and Amazon wanted to make it happen. I would absolutely love the option to watch Rocky and Grace (or Ryan Gosling as himself) comment on the movie throughout its full run. Even if we can't get it as a feature on the Blu-ray, it'd be great if Amazon offered it as a feature on the digital/streaming version of the film. Make it a Prime Video exclusive!

If a full commentary isn't an option, please at least give us more videos of Rocky watching clips from the movie! I'd especially like to hear his thoughts about Stratt -- maybe he can watch the scene where she's watching him on video (the one where we see her new tattoo). There's also an opportunity for some particularly meta humor for James Ortiz if Rocky were to watch a certain cameo from earlier in the movie.

If this clip is all we'll get of Rocky watching Project Hail Mary, so be it. It's adorable, and I'm excited to hear all about the making of the movie when the commentary featuring Phil Lord and Christopher Miller becomes available on the home video release. But I don't think I'm alone in saying that more Rocky in any way would be amaze amaze amaze. In the meantime, you can stream Project Hail Mary with a Prime Video subscription.

When it comes to drama series set in beachy locales featuring affluent characters in crisis, there are plenty to choose from — and many of them are adaptations of popular novels. The Perfect Couple was one bingeable Netflix series based on a book by Elin Hilderbrand, and now another of the author’s works — The Five-Star Weekend — is available to stream with a Peacock subscription. And while I loved watching Nicole Kidman’s icy matriarch in the 2024 drama, reviews say what Jennifer Garner is serving may be even more delicious.

In The Five-Star Weekend, which hit the 2026 TV schedule on July 9, Jennifer Garner plays Hollis Shaw, a grieving food blogger who gathers friends from different eras of her life for a luxe Nantucket weekend in hopes of healing. Carla Meyer of The Wrap says it perfectly balances authenticity with its clichés in a way that The Perfect Couple was unable to do. The critic writes:

Alison Herman of Variety is similarly more impressed with the latest Elin Hilderbrand adaptation, writing in her review of The Five-Star Weekend that she’s glad this story differentiated itself from The Perfect Couple and other series like Big Little Lies and The White Lotus by not making it a murder mystery or eat-the-rich drama. In freeing itself of those plot necessities, the Peacock series is allowed to dig into the nuances of these female friendships. Herman continues:

The Five-Star Weekend also benefits from an impressive cast, says Cristina Escobar of RogerEbert, who do more than simply serve Hollis’ storyline. Chloë Sevigny, Regina Hall, D'Arcy Carden and Gemma Chan play the other four “stars” on the weekend getaway, which ends up being way more than so many of the “pedestrian housewife melodramas” we see. Escobar writes:

Alise Chaffins of MacGuffin or Meaning gives it 4 out of 5, agreeing that the series shows surprising depth for this type of melodrama. The fleshed-out characters, exploration of female friendships and A+ performances add up to a “truly entertaining” project, Chaffins says, writing:

The critics aren’t all in agreement, though. In his The Five-Star Weekend review, Dave Nemetz of TV Line rates the series a C+, calling the story “more mild than wild.” It’s a “pleasant snooze,” Nemetz says, “but a snooze nonetheless.” In his words:

From the reviews I read, critics mostly seem to like the series, and fans of The Five-Star Weekend novel will surely be interested in seeing how the story is adapted. Also, if you loved The Perfect Couple, it sounds like this one might offer a better story (at least more likeable characters) — albeit without the murder mystery.

Season 28 of Big Brother USA will premiere on Thursday, July 9 on CBS at 8pm ET/PT, with episodes going out at the same time every Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday.

Big Brother USA: Preview

Season 28 is set to boast the show's most programming hours ever, with a bumper 90-minute episode every Sunday. This season will also see Big Brother become the first primetime show ever to deliver its 1000th episode, after a whopping 26 years on the air, with CBS promising to deliver “all the drama for the anniversary episode”.

Spin-off Big Brother: Unlocked also returns, with former BB champs Taylor Hale and Derrick Levasseur being joined by former Sliders star Jerry O’Connell as a celebrity panellist, an appropriate appointment considering the time-hopping nature of this season.

As for the Houseguests this season, there’s plenty of reality gameshow pedigree entering the house, including Jason De Puy (whose alter-ego Salina EsTitties competed on Drag Race US and Drag Race All-Stars), two-time Survivor alumnus Rick Devens, and Angela Murray, who fans will recognise from Big Brother 26.

The rest of the contestants hail from a huge variety of occupations, such as corporate gameshow host Melody Morris, Jumbotron engineer Barrett Pfeiffer, rocket scientist Mallory Aurichio and MMA fighter Kamuela "Kamu" Kirk. How much of a tactical advantage any of these backgrounds afford remains to be seen, with the most confident often the most visible when it comes to the voting.

For decades Laura Ingalls Wilder has brought the frontier alive for little girls who longed for wide open spaces. Little House on the Prairie is a delightful series, but one that also helps youngsters learn the hardships of being hungry or trudging forth in deep snow. Her prairie tales are vivid and visceral and were already made into a successful TV series in the 1970s. That was more than 50 years ago, though, and now we’re living in a time ripe with revivals, remakes and reboots. Netflix is giving the upcoming Little House On The Prairie series a go. Interestingly enough, it’s been at the center of a woke debate for quite some time now.

Megyn Kelly Worried Netflix Would ‘Wokeify’ Little House On The Prairie

Netflix announced Little House on the Prairie months ago. Back in January of this year, the frequently outspoken Megyn Kelly was very clear about her expectations surrounding the project. She was concerned Netflix would ‘wokeify’ Laura Ingalls Wilder’s works, and spoke out on social media with a warning:

This kicked off a bit of an online brouhaha, and even led former Little House actress Melissa Gilbert to comment on her feelings related to Kelly’s own concerns. I’m not sure anyone was even thinking about whether or not the series would take a more modern tact prior to this exchange, but it has been a major topic of conversation in the time since. Now, we’re seeing critics complain about the opposite in reviews ahead of the drama hitting the 2026 Netflix schedule.

Reviews For The Revival Have The Opposite Complaint

Most reviews are painting a reasonably “cozy” picture of Little House on the Prairie as a series. Yet, reviews also spell out how sanitized the TV drama is compared to what they would hope for. Little House, for example, doesn’t shy away from the fact that settlers are coming into Osage territory, but it doesn’t get completely deep about it, either, with the AV Club noting that compared to projects like Killers of the Flower Moon, it doesn't stack up.

The Wrap points out that the show takes creative liberties with acceptance, when in reality Caroline “Ma” Ingalls allegedly held racist beliefs she passed on to her daughters.

THR actually addresses the “woke” debate head-on, writing that plotlines about the Osage and a Black doctor in town don't really give us enough diversity in terms of plot. That outlet feels the show doesn’t take enough of a “woke” approach.

Overall reviews aren't as blistering as they have been for some Netflix shows. Most do say the show is a relatively fun and heartwarming take on a beloved TV series, so your mileage may vary depending on what you are looking for.

The Little House Showrunner Commented On The Woke Debate

The creator of the new Little House on the Prairie series has said the book-to-screen adaptation remains true to the source material. She’s mostly been focused in on that as a key talking point. The audience who loved the books should get what they need out of the show, as she previously said in an interview (via the LA Times):

The new series drops on the 2026 TV schedule today, so if you’ve been wanting to form your own opinion, there’s not time like the present to check it out. The new season stars Luke Bracey, Alice Halsey, Crosby Fitzgerald and Skywalker Hughes, and I'll be interested to see if the audience cares one wit about any of this, or just wants a pleasant way to kill eight hours or so.

Most of the gossip involving those who did not attend Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding had to do with them not being invited (like Blake Lively), but Margaret Qualley’s absence seemed to speak more to the state of her marriage to Jack Antonoff. It’s now been confirmed that The Substance star and the famed music producer have separated ahead of their three-year anniversary, and apparently there were a couple of other hints that should have clued us in besides Qualley skipping the celebrity wedding of the year.

When Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce announced they were “JUST&T MARRIED” on July 3, it wasn’t Margaret Qualley who witnessed the nuptials alongside Jack Antonoff, but rather the Bleachers singer’s sister Rachel. However, that wasn’t the only indication of Qualley and Antonoff’s separation. Fans on Reddit realized that Qualley had deleted the photos of her 2023 wedding from Instagram.

That wasn't all, eiher, as her social media account held a second clue that the celebrity relationship was on the rocks: Qualley also changed her Instagram handle to @sarahmargaretqualley23 from previous handles that had been references to the Bleachers song “Isimo.”

Signs of trouble in paradise may have gone back even further, as Bleachers reportedly dropped the song “Margaret” from their tour setlist in June. The song was from Lana Del Rey’s 2023 album Did You Know That There's a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd that featured Jack Antonoff’s band.

When fans first realized that Margaret Qualley was not with Jack Antonoff at the T&T wedding festivities, it was thought that her filming schedule had prevented her from attending, but that was quickly debunked by TMZ, whose sources said her upcoming horror movie King Snake had wrapped, and production had not yet begun on her next project, a horror remake of 1981’s Possession.

Her absence was a surprise, since Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce were seemingly close with both members of the couple. Swift and Jack Antonoff have worked together extensively over the years, providing viral moments like the writing of “Getaway Car” from Reputation, as well as her most recent single — “I Knew It, I Knew You” from Toy Story 5.

Margaret Qualley, meanwhile, appeared in Happy Gilmore 2 alongside Travis Kelce and Kelce’s wedding officiant Adam Sandler. In a funny twist, Qualley had even previously compared Jack Antonoff’s “essence” to Sandler’s when opening up about how she knew she loved the musician.

As of this writing, neither Jack Antonoff nor Margaret Qualley has filed for divorce, with reports saying the couple is “figuring things out.” However, their schedules might make that tricky, as Antonoff remains on his Bleachers Forever tour and Qualley prepares to start filming her next movie.

We’ll just have to wait to see what happens, and in the meantime, you will be able to see Margaret Qualley in The Dog Stars, which hits the 2026 movie calendar on August 28.

This has been an interesting year for films, as the 2026 movie schedule has delivered a unique selection of titles that everyone can enjoy. Amazon MGM Studios has been responsible for some of those great titles, including a couple of excellent book-to-screen adaptations. I've actually been anxious to see those two movies -- which are amongst 2026’s best so far -- and I'm pleased that they're now available to stream in the same week. Needless to say, I'm planning to have an epic movie night, courtesy of my Prime Video subscription.

Movie lovers may be excited to know that both Project Hail Mary and The Sheep Detectives are now streamable on Prime! Both movies were released in theaters earlier this year and have some major stars leading both of them. The charismatic Ryan Gosling headlines the cosmic PHM, while the lovable Hugh Jackman leads the family friendly romp about sheep solving a murder.

Based on the 2021 novel of the same name by Andy Weir, Project Hail Mary sees Gosling play Ryland Grace, an amnesiac middle school teacher who works up aboard a space shuttle and learns he's tasked with a major mission. Along the way, Grace also befriends an alien he names Rocky. Directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, PHM received critical acclaim upon its debut in theaters. Weir has also praised the film, and he even humorously complimented Gosling.

A stamp of approval from Weir is definitely a big deal, though fans of the book have also had positive thoughts to share. I have family members who adore the book, so I’m ready to finally see what all the fuss is about. I'm especially pumped to see Gosling chop it up with his adorable sidekick. And, speaking of adorable scene partners, Jackman certainly has plenty of them in his film.

The Sheep Detectives is adapted from Leonie Swann's 2005 book, Three Bags Full, and directed by Kyle Balda. It sees Hugh Jackman play shepherd George Hardy, who oversees a flock of sheep. As mentioned, those fluffy creatures must solve a murder once tragedy strikes. I've seen Jackman don claws and dance in musicals, yet I can't say I would've expected him to take on a role like this one.

Still, I'm eager to check this movie out, especially since Sheep Detective's reviews are so strong. Apparently, it's also a perfect family watch, as writer Craig Mazin tells CinemaBlend that “kids can handle” the movie, which explores a story of grief through a unique story. The premise may sound a little out there, but it reminds me of the animal-centric movies I grew up watching like Air Bud or Slappy and the Stinkers.

I can see both of these movies drumming up some major buzz on Prime Video. However, in a surprising twist, Elle beat out both of these movies by coming in at no. 1 on Prime over the weekend. This achievement was celebrated by EP Reese Witherspoon, who gave a “big pink thank you” to fans. Despite the prequel show's success, I think Gosling and Jackman's movies are going to do just fine streaming-wise.

Elle, the prequel series to Legally Blonde (one of the best movies of the 2000s), has premiered on the 2026 TV schedule, and it reminds me so much of the soapy and silly teen dramas I grew up watching. I mean that in every way too. On the one hand, it features fun, romantic, and exaggerated plots like those shows from the 2000s and 2010s. On the other hand, it features some wild whiplash-worthy and confusing plot twists many of those shows had too.

So, while I was here for all of Elle’s absurdity, I have to say, there was one bonkers plot twist I couldn’t get over.

Overall, I’m Here For How Bonkers Elle Is

Listen, I can get behind outlandish storylines and silly plot points. In fact, I love when a show leans into them.

For example, Elle’s new school having essentially no sports other than cross-country is ridiculous, but I was here for it. I thought it was creative and quite fun to see Lexi Minetree’s character put together a homecoming event around a cross-country meet. Plus, it was this event that really helped solidify Elle’s love triangle that I’m now very invested in.

Also, while the entire show revolving around Elle and her friends exposing their corrupt principal was admittedly crazy, I was so entertained by it that I binged all of Elle incredibly fast. I was here for them all getting detention so they could break into his office (which led to the best episode inspired by one of the best movies from the ‘80s, The Breakfast Club), and I thought it gave the show some interesting and high stakes.

However, while I dug these bonkers storylines and choices overall, there was one unexpected plot twist that was too much.

The Death Of Shannon’s Mom Gave Me Whiplash

To be frank, I didn’t know Elle was a show where abruptly killing a character off was an option. This pink bubbly comedy was the last place I expected that to happen. However, at the end of Episode 4, Shannon’s mom died, and that’s the plot twist that gave me whiplash.

It came right after Shannon had broken up with Miles, and Elle had kissed him at the end of the cross-country meet. So, this death added extra drama to the romance situation, which felt very weird and unnecessary.

Then, Elle attempted to help Shannon and fix the mess she made with Miles by planning Shannon’s mom’s memorial in Seattle. This is where things got even weirder, because she decided it’d be a good idea to hold it in a Rainforest Cafe. I know these are teenagers making decisions, so logic isn’t exactly something they use. However, this was truly crazy.

Overall, the way Elle killed off Shannon’s mom and then used her death as a point of drama in both the principal corruption storyline and the love triangle was odd. If they were going to have it, it should have been its own main storyline, not a plot point used to make two other storylines more dramatic.

However, it did not ruin the show for me at all. As I said, for the most part, I really enjoyed this Legally Blonde prequel, and I will be tuning in for Season 2. But I also can’t deny that this one crazy plot twist did baffle me to my core.

Along with The Pitt’s general praise and multiple Emmy wins and nominations (it got 26 2026 Emmy noms), it’s also highly regarded for its medical accuracy and how it represents healthcare workers. With that in mind, I spoke to writer and executive producer Simran Baidwan about how exactly they make the series so accurate. In response, she told me how “fake body parts,” “animatronic babies,” medical advisors and more make it all possible.

During a conversation with Simran Baidwan about how they make The Pitt, I asked for examples of complex, intense and oftentimes messy medical situations that they pulled off accurately. The writer told me that the mass casualty event in Season 1 was one example, and the other was the intricate birth sequences we’ve seen. Speaking to those specifically, she said:

From a technical standpoint, they use a variety of special effects, props and more to pull off intricate medical sequences. In the case of births and babies, they even use a variety of fake newborns while filming. In the case of Baby Jane Doe, they used multiple real babies throughout Season 2’s production.

Meanwhile, when it comes to writing these scenes and producing them in the most authentic way possible, Baidwan told me that they have Dr. Joe Sachs, Dr. Mel Herbert and Dr. Joshua Troke in their writers' room. In addition to them, there are also real ER doctors and nurses on set in every episode.

So, as scripts are being written, writers will make note of topics they want to cover – like adding a death doula to the story in Baidwan’s case – and then they go to the experts. Explaining that process, and the resources The Pitt uses to make sure it's medically correct, she said:

When they get to set, that’s when the onset medical advisors come into play. They help coordinate and map out sequences. As Simran Baidwan said, shooting The Pitt is like doing a ballet, because it’s so complex and technical. However, it’s also controlled chaos. So, the medical advisors help them figure out how to make it all look not only accurate but natural:

She concluded by saying making The Pitt is an “incredible team effort,” and all this certainly proves that point. From props to people, this show uses a bunch of techniques and checkpoints to make sure what’s eventually available to stream with an HBO Max subscription is medically valid.

Not long after we learned who received 2026 Emmy nominations, the amazing reactions from those recognized began. Specifically, the Shrinking cast was texting each other, and in celebration of the show’s recognition, Michael Urie posted said messages online. I have to say that the text Harrison Ford sent him about this big moment is my favorite.

Before we dive into the texts, you need some context first. These nominations for both Michael Urie and Harrison Ford mark the second year in a row they’ve been recognized by the Television Academy for their work on Shrinking. So, in celebration of their Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy noms, Urie sent Ford:

In response, Harrison Ford replied:

Well, this is just the sweetest and silliest thing ever. It’s also upholding a tradition, seeing as last year, Ford and Urie exchanged texts that looked very similar, with the Paul actor writing “duuuuuude…./u 2?!” in response to the Brian actor’s “DUUUUUDE.” I love that they did this again, and I also will always find Harrison Ford using “u” instead of “you” and the word “dude” very funny.

On a more serious note, these nods are very deserving. Ford got his first Emmy nomination for Season 2 of Shrinking, and so did Urie. Their work in Season 3 (which aired on the 2026 TV schedule and can be streamed with an Apple TV subscription) is worthy of awards too. So, I’m thrilled they got deserved nominations.

Now, I’ll be curious to see if either of them wins. Ford and Urie were nominated alongside The Four Seasons’ Colman Domingo, Hacks’ Paul W. Downs, Margo’s Got Money Troubles’ Nick Offerman, Widow’s Bay’s Stephen Root and Abbott Elementary’s Tyler James Williams. So, the competition is stacked. However, I have faith that one of these Shrinking stars could take home the gold.

Alongside Ford and Urie, Shrinking received two other big acting nominations – one for Jason Segel in Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy and the other for Jessica Williams in Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy. The show was also nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series. So, in celebration of all that news, the Brian actor posted a bunch of texts he got from his co-stars:

Overall, Shrinking got ten Emmy nominations. There are the five we already talked about, plus nods for Michael J. Fox and Brett Goldstein in Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series, as well as nominations for Casting for a Comedy Series, Sound Mixing for a Comedy Series and Short Form Nonfiction Reality Series: “Shrinking - In It Together”.

So, I’d say the celebratory texts were more than warranted, and I hope they continue to celebrate while working on Season 4 (which is currently in production).

Well, sometimes the rumors turn out to be true. I mean, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce really did have their wedding at Madison Square Garden. Meanwhile, the rumors sparked after Margaret Qualley didn't attend said wedding with Jack Antonoff turned out to be true too, as the couple has reportedly split.

Right before their three-year wedding anniversary, People reported that Margaret Qualley and Jack Antonoff decided to split up. This came after reports claimed that their relationship had been "rocky," and this news notably broke a few days after the Bleachers frontman attended Taylor Swift's wedding with his sister, Rachel Antonoff, instead of his wife.

The rumors that the musician and actress weren't doing well really began to swirl after they didn't attend Swift's wedding together, per Page Six. Questions about all this make some sense too, seeing as the pop star is friends with both of them, and Antonoff is not only a pal but a longtime collaborator.

I had expected him to attend the star-studded, yet “intimate” ceremony with Qualley for those reasons. So, it was surprising when they weren’t there together to celebrate the couple who were “JUST&T MARRIED.”

It had been reported that the actress was working on a new film called King Snake and couldn’t attend the wedding for scheduling reasons. However, TMZ claimed that the movie wrapped in June, and the actress has not started shooting her next film, Possession.

Then, Qualley deleted her wedding photos from her social media, per the same outlet, which caused further speculation that the couple wasn’t doing well.

Now, it turns out that was true, seeing as their breakup was confirmed not long after these rumors started. As for what’s next for them, a different insider claimed that Margaret Qualley and Jack Antonoff are “figuring things out.”

Again, this news comes right before their three-year wedding anniversary. Rumors of their romance began in the summer of 2021 when they were seen kissing. Then they went public in 2022 at the premiere of Qualley’s show, The Maid. In May of 2022, it was confirmed that they were engaged, and then they tied the knot in August of 2023. Since the producer and actress got married, they’ve spoken openly about their love and relationship.

Taylor Swift did go to Antonoff and Qualley’s wedding. In fact, it happened right before her relationship with Travis Kelce was basically confirmed when she was seen at one of his football games for the first time. Since then, Swift and Antonoff have continued to work together, with their most recent collaboration being on the Toy Story 5 song, “I Knew It, I Knew You.” So, I fully expected him to attend his friends’ wedding with his wife.

However, they didn’t. Now, almost three years later, their relationship has been called off right after Swift and Kelce officially tied the knot.

Much like CBS’ Marshals, the Yellowstone spinoff Dutton Ranch wrapped up its first season on the 2026 TV schedule with a youthful main character falling into the antagonist’s clutches, and with a potentially mysterious murder to boot. Since Season 2 was already ordered up, there’s no need to worry about these cliffhangers going unanswered, and that energy can be spent trying to convince Paramount execs that more franchise vets need to appear.

Star Kelly Reilly knows that she and Cole Hauser can’t make any major casting decisions themselves, but still has her own personal hopes and desires for who the creative team might bring back from Yellowstone. Speaking with TV Insider, she said she’d especially love for Jen Landon’s Teeter to join the current Wheeler/Dutton set-up, and put some of that onus on fans to voice those wishes loudly enough for producers and the new Season 2 showrunner to take notice. As she put it:

You heard her, people! Let's get the train on the tracks and the ball rolling for a #BringTeeterBack campaign. Prioritize it! (And now imagine what "prioritize it" would sound like filtered through Teeter's accent.)

Calling for Teeter's return might not make a lick of sense if the character was a Montana native who'd vowed never to leave the region. But as Reilly points out, Teeter's no stranger to the Lone Star State. Granted, she'd admitted to Travis at one point that her Texarkana origins technically stem from Arkansas and not Texas, but them's semantics.

Nobody's bringing up Jimmy and his significant other, even though he's also in Texas, or should be at least. But I guess they're always busy working at the 6666 ranch and don't have much time to go off visiting Jimmy's former coworkers. Honestly, I don't know that I'd want to ever see Rip or Beth again after working at the Yellowstone, even under more pleasant circumstances. But I'm not a TV character. [Audience laughs.]

Wait...what was that? ... Hello? Okay. Never mind.

Someone who should want to make the trip to see Rip and Beth's new quarters is the latter's brother Kayce, who's obviously busy with his own drama over on Marshals. He would need to make a much bigger trip than Teeter or Jimmy would, but it still makes sense. And Kelly Reilly would also be down to welcome Luke Grimes onto Dutton Ranch, and has a specific reason for wanting it to happen. In her words:

Taylor Sheridan-produced dramas certainly do have moments of levity peppered throughout the heavier drama, but rarely does it come from all the on-screen characters smiling and having a great time for minutes on end. So if we could just get one scene like that before Dutton Ranch ends, it'd be appreciated by at least one star.

Now the wait is on for Season 2, but all episodes of Season 1, as well as those of Marshals' first season, can be streamed via Paramount+ subscription.

Obviously, the guests who funneled into Madison Square Garden for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding were high-profile folks. However, there was also an A-lister in the ceremony and officiating, as Adam Sandler was the person they picked for that gig. It turns out, he “said yes right away” to the request too, and now an insider has revealed the sweet reason why the Happy Gilmore actor didn’t prepare too much for it.

Sandler’s speech was very heartfelt, and we know he gave the couple some good advice. According to an insider who spoke to People, the Saturday Night Live vet didn’t work too hard to figure out what he’d say. Instead, he simply spoke from the heart, as they alleged:

It seems like that’s exactly what he did too. According to the Kansas City Chiefs head coach, Andy Reid, Adam Sandler gave the couple advice, like “keep kissing.” The coach said the comedian explained that if you kiss your partner every day, “you won’t have problems.” Overall, he praised the officiant and said he provided the couple with some “wise words.”

I’d trust those words too, considering Sandler and his wife, Jackie, have been married for 23 years.

With his long relationship and his professional success in mind, it’s not shocking to me that Sandler was the “perfect person” to officiate and he didn’t have to prepare too much. Also, considering he was seen playing basketball hours and then picking up coffees before the wedding, it would seem that he really didn’t put much preparation into officiating right before the ceremony.

However, his speech seemed to be received well, with Reid calling it “phenomenal.” That’s not surprising either, especially since the comedian loves both Swift and Kelce, and that feeling is clearly reciprocated.

Notably, this wedding happened about a year after Travis Kelce had a cameo in Happy Gilmore 2, and Taylor Swift laughed about the movie and fans thinking she was the bear in it. It’s also worth mentioning that Sandler and his family have been huge Swifties for years, and he has praised the singer for how she’s interacted with his daughters. He's also been open about how much he loves the tight end and pop star as a couple.

Overall, Kelce and Swift’s wedding has been described as “intimate,” and I’d assume Sandler’s heartfelt speech helped give it that feeling. Honestly, I love that he allegedly didn’t prepare much for this. He just said what he felt in the moment, and not only was it heartfelt, I bet it was really funny too.

We may only be half through the 2026 TV schedule at this point, but it's that time of year when we get to celebrate all of the most amazing performances, writing, direction and more from everything we've watched in the last year. This time around, we won't have The Studio and Adolescence sweeping all the major categories, so there may very well be some surprises to look forward to. (At least anywhere that The Pitt isn't nominated.)

The yearly nomination announcements are happening today, with The Bear's Liza Colón-Zayas and Widow's Bay co-star Jeff Hiller on hand to make the announcements. (All my non-existent votes go to Widow's Bay for all the awards, even TV movie.) This year's telecast will be hosted by Law & Order: SVU great and Knicks superfan Mariska Hargitay, who will hopefully have a fun way to stymie long acceptances speeches like Nate Bargatze did last year.

I've also added my own predictions for who will come out on top in each category, and it'll be fairly obvious which ones I'm talking about.

The 2026 Emmy Awards will be held on Monday, September 14, and will be airing on NBC and streaming via Peacock subscription at 8:00 p.m. ET.

Those who watch streaming shows likely know that a number of them can have short shelf lives, as streamers like Netflix and Peacock tend to cancel shows after a single season. Well, a series that's available with a Prime Video subscription has now been axed after a single season, and it was performing well on the platform. The Scott Foley-led drama It's Not Like That will has reached its conclusion and, given its position on the streaming charts and its positive reviews, I'm wondering why.

It was reported by Deadline this week that It's Not Like That, a collaboration between Prime Video and Wonder Project, would end with one season just a month after it launched globally on the aforementioned platform. It seems the company wasn't impressed with the faith-based series' run on the 2026 TV schedule, though without knowing the viewership numbers, we can't give the exact reason for why the cancellation axe came down.

It's Not Like That Has A Perfect Score On Rotten Tomatoes And A Top Spot On The Streaming Charts

Based on the streaming charts, it seemed that It's Not Like That was attracting lots of eyes on Prime Video. While the series was available with the Wonder Project add-on back in late January, it was released to all Prime Video users on May 15th. Amazon started releasing its Top 10 streaming shows on a weekly basis, with It's Not Like That coming in at 9 on June 3rd. As of this writing, it's currently ranked 6th among the platform's most-watched television shows, and it has a perfect 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Some may be tempted to think that a show securing a Top 10 spot within Prime Video's rankings would mean it's drawing enough viewers to justify another season. But, with streamers keeping quiet about their true viewership numbers, maybe we shouldn't be so confident about how shows are doing if they're on the bottom half of streaming. Of course, shows can always get canceled for various reasons beyond viewership and popularity, so this is just speculation.

What Is It's Not Like That About?

Created by Ian Deitchman and Kristin Robinson, It's Not Like That centers on a recently widowed pastor named Malcolm, who is trying to overcome his grief and continue life with his three children. He ends up finding common ground with his late wife's best friend, Lori (Erinn Hayes), whose husband filed for divorce and left their children behind. The duo begin to develop feelings for each other, leading to complications and uncertainties regarding what they should do.

It's not the kind of show fans may expect from Scott Foley, especially if they're used to seeing him in the Scream movies. Erinn Hayes also gives a good performance alongside other cast members, which makes it all the more confusing that Amazon gave the boot to this eight-episode series. The series also doesn't seem to be particularly expensive to make, at least compared to what we'll see in other upcoming projects for Prime Video like Tomb Raider or Fallout Season 3.

What's worse is that it comes at a time when Hollywood, in general, is suffering from a lack of great romance films and shows. Again, we can only speculate as to why Prime decided to drop the show, but maybe people just aren't feeling the love these days. Though, admittedly, the love story in this Prime original is messier than the usual feel-good romance.

Perhaps the continued charting for It's Not Like That will change some hearts and minds at Prime Video, and we'll see it brought back for another season? That may be a pipe dream, but wilder things have happened. Until then, the series remains on the platform, and available to stream for those who want to check it out and make up their own mind about it.

There are few franchises quite as popular as Star Wars, as entire generations have grown up with the galaxy far, far away. Star Wars movies started it all, but the property has also expanded thanks to live-action shows that are available with a Disney+ subscription. Chief among them is the Emmy-winning hit Andor, which featured Fantastic Four actor Ebon Moss-Bachrach in a handful of episodes during Season 1. And he recently schooled Seth Meyers about an important rule the beloved space opera lives by.

While fans are looking forward to upcoming Star Wars movies and TV shows, information about Andor is still trickling out. During an appearance from Late Night with Seth Meyers, the host recounted some of Moss-Bachrach's death scenes, including when the actor was "shot by a laser gun" in the Star Wars show. The Bear star corrected Meyers, saying:

Who knew? While it's common knowledge that the characters of Star Wars wield blasters, I didn't realize that the cast and crew were forbidden to refer to them as "guns." I have to assume this is due to the space opera being largely family-friendly. Although Andor might be the exception thanks to its complicated, adult-focused narrative.

While Star Wars is perhaps most closely associated with its epic lightsabers, tons of characters use blasters throughout the Skywalker Saga and beyond. But it's clearly very important that those who carry them use very specific verbiage. Don't you just love learning how the sausage gets made?

In the first season of Andor, Moss-Bachrach played Arvel Skeen, a mercenary who worked for the Rebels on a covert mission. The Girls alum was (unsurprisingly) fascinating in that role, although he was unfortunately killed off after a few episodes. That plot twist obviously kept him from popping up in the second and final season of the Star Wars series, but the performance definitely kept Arvel in our memories.

In the above clip Meyers quizzed Moss-Bachrach about his various onscreen deaths. I'm hoping that another one doesn't join the ranks soon, specifically his role as Ben Grimm/ The Thing in the upcoming Marvel movie Avengers: Doomsday. He only just entered the MCU in Fantastic Four: First Steps, and was featured in a Doomsday teaser alongside Black Panther characters. But the stakes are high, and there's no telling how deadly Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom will end up being.

All will be revealed when Avengers: Doomsday hits theaters on December 18th as part of the 2026 movie release list. For now, we can re-watch the Punisher actor's tenure on Andor over on Disney+.

I’ll admit I was probably a little irrational in my personal hype for BattleBots Pro League, which kicked off last week on YouTube. I mean, it’s not like I was counting down the days to the premiere, but BattleBots is a serious guilty pleasure of mine, and I love YouTube shows because of the freeform opportunities on the streaming platform. Instead, I ended up being severely disappointed by the debut of the new reboot of the long-running robot fighting competition.

The Biggest Problem Is Not Adapting To The Format

The thing I love the most about YouTube is that there are no constraints, especially when it comes to the length of a video. A video can be two minutes long, or it can be eight hours long. On linear TV, shows are boxed into (generally) 30-minute or 1-hour time blocks, and that doesn’t account for commercial time. A 30-minute show on a regular cable network, like on the Discovery Channel, BattleBots' most recent TV home, is really more like 22 minutes, give or take. On YouTube, there is no reason to stay contained to that.

That’s not what the new BattleBots Pro League did. Instead, at least the show’s first episode is 21 minutes and 37 seconds. About the same length as a typical episode on Discovery would have been. What’s worse is that the editing is exactly the same. Instead of adapting the show to the streamer, they simply made the same show and posted it on YouTube. Why not give us more? Big Brother has figured it out. More battles, more backstory, more behind-the-scenes of the teams and their robots? Instead, it’s basically the same show that has been canceled three different times in the past.

The sky is the limit with YouTube, but we got the same format as before.

I’m Holding Out Hope That Things Could Adjust

I’m not ready to give up on the show right away. It’s perfectly plausible that the producers made the show with the intention of selling it to a linear cable network or a more traditional streamer like Netflix. Now that they have the show on YouTube, there is still time to adjust. Give us more time with the teams, and a greater understanding of the robots and how they work. Produce shorts of behind-the-scenes action of the teams building and rebuilding their bots.

As I said, the sky is the limit here. The show doesn’t have to be 22 minutes. Make it 35. Or 43. Pepper in some more backstory. Give us some ancillary videos with deep dives on the teams and the bots. Heck, with YouTube, you can make different videos for each aspect of the show. One that is just the battle, one that is the backstory for each team, and one that shows the aftermath.

I stopped watching cable TV because of how formulaic much of the content got, and I’ll never give up my YouTube Premium subscription because so many videos upend industry norms (among other reasons). Throwing what is essentially a mid-2000s-style cable show on YouTube doesn’t make it hip; it just shows how tired the format is.

Star Trek is known for bringing back notable characters in some form or another, and I'm excited that another is poised to reappear. Jake Sisko is returning to Trek, though we won't see Cirroc Lofton's character appear on a show airing amid the 2026 TV schedule. Sisko is returning by way of a novel, and I'm hopeful that after his surprise appearance in a Season 1 episode of Starfleet Academy, we'll get some additional context on an aspect of Jake's personal history.

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine: The Peacemakers is now available to pre-order on Amazon and, if you're someone who still watches Benjamin Sisko and the gang deal with drama on the promenade, you'll want to pick it up. Sure, it's not a series we can stream with a Paramount+ subscription, but it could give us some additional context on something Jake said in regard to his father during my favorite Starfleet Academy episode.

What Is Star Trek: Deep Space Nine: The Peacemakers About?

The Peacemakers hails from prolific Trek author Una McCormack and follows Jake Sisko five years after the Dominion War. In an attempt to escape everyone from Starfleet intelligence to the Bajoran people, he accepts an invitation to attend an arts festival on Cardassia Prime. Strange events soon start to occur and, with death surrounding him, he's thrust into an adventure.

It's an adventure I'd love to see play out in a limited series, but with no active Star Trek shows in development, I'll settle for this. Jake is a great character, and I'm as amped to see him return as I was to see Wesley Crusher in his own novel.

What Jake Sisko Says About His Father In Starfleet Academy

As mentioned, this upcoming novel has the opportunity to address something we learned from Jake Sisko in the Star Trek: Starfleet Academy episode, "Series Acclimation Mil." In the episode, SAM does a deep dive into the life of Benjamin Sisko, finding similarities between his responsibilities as an emissary of the Prophets and her being an emissary to her homeworld of Kasq.

Ultimately, SAM becomes convinced that if she can find definitive answers to what became of Benjamin Sisko and whether he was dead or alive following the Dominion Wars, she can justify her attending Starfleet Academy to the people of Kasq. She ends up speaking to a hologram of Jake Sisko, who tells her that his father was "around" after the war but cannot provide her with definitive proof that he was.

This opens the door for Star Trek: Deep Space Nine: The Peacemakers to explain how Jake felt Benjamin's presence in his life, even if he didn't physically appear to his son after the end of the series. I would love if this book has a moment in which there's some supernatural event or unexplained phenomenon that backs up what Jake said to SAM. I have a feeling there will be, but I guess we'll just have to wait and read!

Unfortunately, Star Trek: Starfleet Academy was canceled, though Season 2 is still expected to stream on Paramount+ in 2027. I'm excited for more episodes as well as this new adventure with Jake Sisko!

When I think about a wedding taking place in Madison Square Garden with a thousand guests, words that come to mind are massive and extravagant. While both those are likely true, there’s actually a different word a few of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding guests kept using to describe this event that felt like a royal wedding of sorts, and it’s a surprising one.

So, Good Morning America’s Robin Roberts, Michael Strahan and George Stephanopoulos were at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding on July 3. Then, the following morning, they shared some details about it during GMA’s broadcast. All three of them agreed that the ceremony was very “intimate,” and the explanation as to why began with Roberts saying:

Yeah, intimate is not the word I would have expected here. Madison Square Garden is not an “intimate” venue, and let’s all remember that after Swift and Kelce got married, a billboard lit up right outside The Garden that read “JUST&T MARRIED.” It was a ginormous event, and the guest list for this wedding proved that the space was warranted. However, Stephanopoulos did address that point, saying that for MSG, the wedding was “intimate.”

Considering the details we’ve learned about Swift and Kelce’s wedding – including the fact that Adam Sandler officiated it (and gave the couple the advice to “keep kissing”) and the couple had favors that featured a lyric from “Blank Space” on them – I can totally see how they transformed MSG into a personal space. Apparently, that meant it was “intimate” too.

Between making the venue look like a garden and also inviting their friends and neighbors alongside the various A-listers, they really were able to make it very intimate, as Robin Roberts noted:

We do know Swift’s childhood best friend, Abigail Anderson Berard, was in attendance, and it’s no secret how close Kelce is with his friends from his hometown. So, it makes perfect sense to me that the guest list featured a wide variety of folks, including their “neighbors” and “high school friends.”

Plus, Swift and Kelce’s engagement photos made it seem like that moment was simultaneously extravagant and intimate as well. So, I’m not shocked that vibe carried over to their wedding.

According to Michael Strahan, this was Swift and Kelce’s “dream wedding,” and he called it “amazing.” Considering they managed to successfully turn a huge wedding at Madison Square Garden into an “intimate” event, I assume it was even more magical than I’d originally imagined.

Peacock has been around since 2020, but it still feels like the new kid on the block. In the oversaturated world of streaming services, Peacock has a lot of competition. However, it has made many smart programming choices. Taking over Love Island and buying the US rights for The Traitors were genius moves. Its programming catalog also has plenty of amazing original TV shows.

The streaming newbie has also been adding more original movies. I have seen a few and had mixed reactions, but Strung is the first Peacock original movie that I really enjoyed. Is it the perfect film? No, but that’s part of its charm.

Warning: Strung spoilers are ahead. Proceed with caution.

Strung Has A Simple Premise That Gets Crazier As It Continues

Strung doesn’t let you know what type of movie it is until the midway mark. You’re not sure if it’s a paranormal movie, a mystery film, or a romantic drama. You’re just not sure where all this is headed until the picture starts to become clearer. I think Strung can best be described as an over-the-top thriller. It takes all the elements of a thriller and heightens them to the point of almost parodying the genre. At the end of Strung, I saw that Tyler Perry was a producer. Everything made more sense.

He does a particular genre of films that are polarizing. Many of his most popular movies and TV shows follow a similar pattern to Strung. I have seen quite a few of Malcolm D. Lee’s films, and he’s more known for comedies, so Strung feeling like a parody at times makes sense. Alan B. McElroy is better known for writing horror movies, so the two creatives balance each other out. The film is funny at times, but also bonkers in a psychological thriller way.

The film’s premise is simple: a woman gets a new dream job, only to discover it’s less a dream and more a nightmare. Then it becomes much more sinister as a movie about murder, betrayal, deception, and dubious characters. It’s the plot progression that gives Strung its character and charm.

The Bond Between Laila and Zuri Is One Of The Main Reasons To Watch, And It Also Reminds Me Of The Power Of A Great Mentor

Laila (Chloe Bailey) and Zuri’s (Romy Woods) bond is what I found most enthralling about the movie. We witness a scared, traumatized girl form a connection with another scared, traumatized woman. Their love of music creates this trust and admiration. However, their closeness grows into a loving and protective sisterhood/surrogate parental figure relationship.

Zuri and Laila flourish because of Laila’s gentle and effective mentoring. Their relationship reminded me of the importance of influential and kind mentors for children who especially need extra care and attention. Strung is a lot of things, and one of those is that it’s a very good movie about the power of teachers and mentors. It’s another movie that many teachers can relate to and enjoy.

A good mentor can really change the trajectory of someone’s life. Zuri cannot evolve without Laila’s guidance and support.

Strung Doesn't Take Itself Seriously, And I Love That

I am still unsure if Strung aims to be more of a parody than a straightforward thriller. It has so many aspects that feel too over-the-top to take seriously. Many of the characters’ behaviors don’t seem realistic in the slightest. Then it has many shock-value moments. For example, we discover that Marcus (Lucien Laviscount) and Audra (Lynn Whitfield) are having an affair. It’s not ridiculous to think that Marcus would find Audra attractive.

The ridiculous part comes with how the scene plays out. It’s also a mess that Marcus is having sex with all three of the main women. His relationship with Audra showcases her wickedness because she’s sleeping with her daughter’s husband and shows no remorse. Thrillers often have twists about dangerous and deceptive husbands.

This makes Strung fall in line with many other thrillers, but the shocking part is that Audra is the ringleader behind everything that has happened. When Strung reveals the big twist, it goes all in with the ridiculous premise and behavior. I am someone who enjoys over-the-top movies. It’s not a respected art form, but it is one.

A good over-the-top movie can be really entertaining and allow your brain to simply enjoy the wild ride. This is how I felt watching the last act of Strung. It was ridiculous for ridiculous's sake.

The Film Gives Peacock Some Variety I Wasn't Expecting, But I Hope It Continues

Peacock still needs to really grow its original movie collection. However, none of its films feel that similar. It’s not producing a bunch of the same movies but trying to expand its catalog to give all movie fans something they can enjoy on the streaming service.

I hope the platform continues to grow and experiment. I want to see Peacock explore more movies in different film genres. It’s one of the streaming service underdogs, and I believe it has the potential to be one of the big ones. It just needs to give more projects like Strung a chance.

It Won't Be Everyone's Thing, But I Think It Could Be A Cult Classic In The Making

I imagine in a few years, small theaters will be showing Strung as a midnight special or double feature. It has the quality and potential to be something many will flock to watch as part of a cult viewing experience. It’s a fun movie that I believe will eventually have a dedicated audience to watch it years from now. As someone who often loves cult classics, I think Strung reminds me of so many other ones.

It may not share their plot, but it has a quality to it that feels like something destined to take a place with a cult audience. It will be quoted one day, I know it. Strung has trended on Peacock's top movie lists for several days since its premiere, which shows it's popular among general audiences. However, I think the cult audiences will really give it its legacy one day.

Strung is another movie that proves the Peacock subscription is worth the price.

There are a handful of upcoming video game movies and shows in 2026 and beyond that I can’t wait to see, and this includes Fallout. The third season of the hit Prime adaptation will be coming soon, and after the Season 2 finale set up a potential duo, there’s no telling what will be in store. One thing that fans can definitely look forward to is more of Walton Goggins in his seriously disgusting makeup, and he’s sharing the pics to prove it.

Fallout Season 3 has kicked off filming, over a year after Amazon renewed the Emmy-nominated series. To celebrate the start of production, Goggins shared some behind-the-scenes pictures on Instagram that sees him in the middle of what is likely a long session in makeup as he turns into Cooper Howard/The Ghoul:

Throughout the first two seasons of Fallout, Goggins shared a handful of photos and videos of him as The Ghoul, and it never gets any less disgusting. He is definitely unrecognizable as the gunslinging bounty hunter/Hollywood actor, and it’s always fun to see just what he has to go through to get into character. Surprisingly, though, he previously shared with CinemaBlend that acting in a power suit is more unpleasant than being in the prosthetics, so he would probably take disgusting over uncomfortable any day.

Goggins has opened up about his special experience playing The Ghoul and wearing the makeup that takes at least two hours to put on. He seems to be making sure to have fun during the sessions, however, and reminding everyone that the disgusting makeup does indeed take time to perfect. Of course, that’s not all that he wears while on Fallout, so it’s not like he has to be doing the two-hour sessions every single day.

Meanwhile, Fallout hit a major milestone during Season 2, with 100 million people tuning in to at least a few minutes of each episode. This means quite a lot of people have seen Goggins as The Ghoul, and even more will likely tune in to see him as The Ghoul for Season 3. The upcoming season will feature some aspects that gamers will love, and after the twists in Season 2, there is no telling what else will happen. Aside from Goggins’ disgusting Ghoul makeup.

Season 2 of Fallout only ended in February, and filming for Season 3 just started. So it is going to be a while until fans see Walton Goggins suited up in his power suit and The Ghoul makeup. There will also be much more to look forward to in the third season, but the wait will certainly be worth it. For now, fans can watch the first two seasons of Fallout with an Amazon Prime subscription.

Details continue to come out about everything that went down July 3 when Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce got “JUST&T MARRIED” at Madison Square Garden. We know officiant Adam Sandler’s advice to the couple, we know that another one of Matty Healy’s exes was in the building, and now we also know a little more about the food situation for the 1,000 guests at the celebrity wedding of the year. Apparently the owner of a local pizza place delivered some pies to the venue, and let’s be real — he definitely snooped around, right?

Multiple food stations were set up for Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s wedding guests, in addition to a reportedly late-night order made to Mama’s TOO! Pizzeria. Around 100 pizzas were allegedly delivered, US Weekly reports, with a sampling of almost every pie on the Mama’s menu at an estimated cost of around $3,000.

Mama’s TOO! reportedly had all hands on deck to cover the large order, so while this apparently occurred later in the evening, it doesn’t sound like it was sprung on the pizzeria unexpectedly.

In that case, is it possible that the owner had an opportunity to peek around a bit? I can’t speak for them — and I’m sure they maintained the utmost professionalism — but I would have had trouble not “accidentally” wandering down the wrong hallway, if you know what I mean. There definitely would have been a, “Ma’am, you’re not supposed to be in here,” situation.

Regardless of how the pizza order went down, reports indicate nobody went hungry while celebrating “your English teacher and your gym teacher.” Grub options reportedly included stations serving pasta, sushi, salads, filet mignon, lobster and a variety of Chinese, Italian and American fare. A Krispy Kreme truck was seen arriving at the venue, and TMZ reports there were around 30 different cakes, each topped with a 3D figure of the newlyweds, in addition to several other options to satisfy a sweet tooth.

With 1,000 guests, though, there’s bound to be a few hurdles. One TMZ source called the dinner scene "a bit of a s--- show," and with no formal sit-down meal, attendees were allegedly made to wait in long buffet lines for their food. There were reports that some ate standing up because there weren’t enough seats.

However, DeuxMoi’s anonymous sources disputed those claims, saying that everything went pretty perfectly from a food standpoint. Yes, there was an initial rush on the service stations following the ceremony, but lines reportedly dispersed quickly as attendees spread out through the venue.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce seemingly thought of everything, including that there would be a need for a late-night pizza pick-me-up, so hopefully all of those invited had a good time. Maybe even some who weren’t invited — like the pizzeria owner — got a taste of the celebration, too, whether or not they snooped.

Spoilers below for Dutton Ranch’s Season 1 finale for those who haven’t yet streamed it via Paramount+ subscription or watched it on Paramount Network, so be warned!

Ahead of Dutton Ranch’s first seasonal capper, titled “El Padrino,” it was pretty clear that another big character would be killed, and I’ve been waiting for Jai Courtney’s Rob-Will biting a bullet or two for weeks now. So imagine how joyfully I clacked my heels together mid-air upon seeing that the Ten Petal’s most irresponsible employee/heir was put out of everyone’s misery. But it’s what we didn’t see that had my antennae up until the credits: the actual murderer.

The episode laid out one clearly telegraphed way for Rob-Will to meet his maker, with Raoul Trujillo’s Mariano Reyes ordering Juan Pablo Raba’s Joaquin to kill his wayward brother. But as Raba pointed out to US Weekly, at no point do we as viewers see Joaquin pulling any triggers. What’s more, the actor says at no point in the episode’s script is there an “actual scene where Joaquin kills” his sibling rival. As he puts it:

That's what I'm saying! I don't think Raba's performance indicated that Joaquin was only feeling doubtful about killing Rob-Will. In a vacuum, I think he'd relish that act for hours on end, so maybe his angst was more like, "Damn, I'm supposed to shoot. him when all I really want to do is cut off his limbs and leave him for wild animals." Maybe not fully that either, but closer to it than the other.

What I took away from those moments while watching, and then thinking about it afterward, is that Joaquin knew how killing Rob-Will would affect his placement within the Jackson side of the family. His whole goal here was to take over the ranch, and being responsible for the current boss' death isn't the best way up the ladder. Beyond that, I think his worried looks were also anticipating how Mariano would react to him not taking Rob-Will out.

So who would have done it if not Joaquin? Juan Pablo Raba makes it clear in the interview that he has no direct knowledge of what will happen in the already renewed second season, which recently set Benjamin Cavell as the new showrunner. But he did offer up his own conjecture about it, and I think it sounds right on the (dirty) money.

I wouldn't be that surprised to find out Mariano himself was the one holding the gun as Rob-Will's big dumb body hit the ground. But it's more realistic to think he sent his bodyguard henchmen out to make sure the deed got done.

Despite having theories about Joquin's innocence, which could very well be just a biased take from an actor, Raba says he loves that the lead-up to the death was left up to viewers' imagination. It lends a sense of mystery to what was an inevitable outcome, regardless of what the outcome will be.

Maybe security camera footage will reveal that Rob-Will needlessly pulled his gun out to threaten a Ten Petal employee and then dropped it on the ground, and a squirrel ran through the room and tripped over the gun's trigger, and that's how he died. Now I guess there's nothing more for me to do today than to keep thinking up undignified ways for Jai Courtney's character to get snuffed.

Reese Witherspoon has never forgotten Elle Woods, and much of that is thanks to fans who never let her forget how iconic the character still is. The actor defined a generation with her positive demeanor and classic pink style. Elle also owned the courtroom with bubbly authenticity. After 25 years, the actor was finally ready to pass “the pink torch” to a new actress, Lexi Minetree, in a prequel comedy series that takes place long before Harvard.

The new series can be watched with an Amazon Prime subscription. Elle only has eight episodes, which makes for a quick and easy binge. Witherspoon stopped by The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to dish about the new series and revealed the unexpected place she gets classic Legally Blonde one-liners thrown at her all the time:

One thing I always loved about the movie is how easily quotable it is. Some phrases are almost more iconic than her classic pink style. But fans weren’t the only ones excited for Elle’s comeback. Witherspoon was so hyped for the upcoming prequel that she celebrated by bringing back the bend and snap. However, despite the fan anticipation for the series, critics had objections to certain “teen drama cliches” they felt were in the series, such as a certain love triangle.

On the other hand, I learned a long time ago that what the critics think is hardly ever what the fans think. Despite critics objecting, the prequel series was number one on Amazon. This resulted in a sweet thank you from Reese Witherspoon to every fan who took the time to watch Elle. While she was at the Tonight Show, the actor spilled the tea on why now was the right time for her to bring the “iconic character” back:

Growing up with the film, I always loved how Elle was this role model. She never let anyone define who she was. She was a sweet, independent, and positive woman who was a bit outside the norm at Harvard Law, but she never apologized for being herself. To me, this makes her a classic “feminist” character who serves as a reminder for young women to never forget to pursue their own dreams.

The “fish out of water” story is one that defined Legally Blonde, as she went from the sorority house to Harvard. The prequel Elle takes the same path, by symbolically taking young Elle from the sunny climate of Bel-Air to the rainy city of Seattle. And not just because of the obvious fashion differences.

The prequel had fun reinventing the character, though it never forgets where Elle is going to end up. For those of us who lived on Legally Blonde, the streaming series gives little winks, such as when it dropped a hilarious reveal about the character. Hint: it may have to do with her astrological sign.

I can't wait to see if any of Elle's one-liners will be quoted to Witherspoon at Starbucks.

Lacey Chabert is no doubt one of the queens of Hallmark. She started the year with Lost in Paradise and will be ending the year with a trip to Disney World. She’s one of a handful of actors who I know will be in at least one movie every year, whether it’s a Christmas tale or a feel-good summer romance. And true to character, Chabert is in not one, but two upcoming Hallmark projects.

But before she dons some Mickey Mouse ears, she’ll be heading to one of the most romantic places in the world. After we celebrate Christmas in July with a selection of the channel’s most festive films, get ready to travel with Chabert to Europe, where I suspect she’ll find some romance. The various projects have given the actor opportunities to explore new places, which she gushes about in a BTS teaser for Hallmark+.

For the last few years, we’ve been seeing Hallmark films on location more and more. We’ve gotten to go all around the world, even with the channel’s mystery films. This allows fans to travel with the characters while never having to leave the couch. And with Chabert’s upcoming series, we’ll get to see Chabert pretty in pink and looking for love in Paris.

The series, Paris is Always a Good Idea, will premiere on July 30. The series will have six episodes and is based on the book by Jenn McKinlay. The series also stars Scott Michael Foster, of ABC Family (now known as Freeform) legacy. The trailer teases a look at Chabert's Chelsea as she embarks on a journey to Europe where she plans to re-connect with three of her exes.

The teaser also shows fans a glimpses at the stunning locations she'll be traveling to. These include the vineyard of Spain, the stunning city of Paris, and the hills of Ireland as part of her quest. And of course, each new place features a charming potential love. One of the locations is teased by Chabert:

Another amazing place that Chabert has gotten to check out can be seen in Lost in Paradise, which premiered early this year. In it, we got to see some gorgeous location shots, and yes, she she really filmed in Fiji. The film also starred Pretty Little Liars’ Ian Harding, who played the other half of a duo that gets marooned on a deserted island. Chabert loves that part of her job includes traveling to "amazing" places and how these are incorporated into the films in a special way. She explains:

After we see her in Paris, we won’t have to wait long until we see Chabert again. Only this time, we’ll see her in Disney World with Travis Van Winkle. The movie, Holiday Ever After: A Disney World Wish Come True has already wrapped filming, and Chabert celebrated in the best way possible: by throwing a wrap party at Disney World for the cast. The movie is part of the upcoming 2026 TV schedule and is set to premiere as part of Countdown to Christmas later this year.

I'm excited to see Chabert in all of her adventures, though I'm still holding out hope for another Crossword Mystery with Brennan Elliot.
