As Candace Cameron Bure continues to change up her Christmas movies following her exit from Hallmark and move to Great American Family, the Full House star is remaining pretty busy. And it’s not just with her acting career. Not long after celebrating her 50^th birthday, Bure found out she’s going to be a grandmother, and Danica McKellar, Taylor Lautner, and more shared congrats.

Bure’s daughter, Natasha, and her husband, former Disney star Bradley Steven Perry, are expecting their first child together. After the happy couple shared the news on their Instagram pages, Bure couldn’t help but continue the celebration on her own Instagram. She posted a photo of the parents-to-be holding respective “Dada!” and “Mama!” mugs, with Natasha showing off her baby bump, alongside the sweet caption, “I’m gonna be a Candy Gram!!!!!!”

This will be Bure’s first grandchild, and it’s definitely crazy to think that D.J. Tanner is going to be a grandmother. Of course, she is as happy as ever, and so are many famous friends. Plenty of celebrities took to the comments of Bure’s post with congratulatory messages, while her daughter and son-in-law also replied, and it’s clear that Baby Perry is already so, so loved:

Considering the bad news plaguing the world these days, it’s always nice to get some good news every once in a while. It’s even better when many celebrities jump on the train as well, and I love how the announcement is bringing so many of them together. Not surprisingly, though, the comments are not just filled with celebrity congratulatory messages. Plenty of fans got in on the celebration, and even brought up Bure’s Full House persona:

The fact that Bure has gone from trapping her kids in a car to talk to them about sex to now celebrating one of her babies having a baby definitely shows just how fast time can fly.

This will be her first time being a grandmother, but since her oldest son, Levi, got married in 2024, it’s quite possible it won’t be long before she has another grandchild. It’s unknown when Baby Perry will make his or her entrance into the world, but time will surely fly as they continue to prepare. Candy Gram will probably be on hand to help, and I can’t imagine it any other way.

It’s going to be exciting seeing Bure and her family step into this new chapter of their lives. Whether or not she’ll be bringing her grandchild to the set of her Great American Movies is unknown, but at the very least, she’ll likely be bragging to all of her co-stars and the crew when the baby is born.

Taylor Lautner is known for delivering some of the best quotes in the Twilight movies, but as of late, he and his wife (also named Taylor Lautner) have gone viral basically for how cute they are. His wife used to be Team Edward growing up, and now they are full-on starting a family together. I absolutely love seeing the Twilight family get involved, as they told the world this week.

As a longtime Twilight fan, of course I’m swooning over how the comments section of the Instagram post was filled with the cast sending him sweet messages, but one of them is not like the others. Yep, this is my favorite comment among the cast that really made me chuckle. Since the running joke for the couple is how they are both named Taylor Lautner since tying the knot back in 2022 (after his super adorable proposal), wouldn’t it be hilarious if they doubled down on it for their kid and also named them Taylor Lautner? The fandom might always be divided on Team Edward and Team Jacob, and apparently, the phenomenon actually made it “difficult” for Lautner and Pattinson to get close on the movies.

Obviously, Tay Lautner is indisputably Team Jacob nowadays, and if you ask me, I think it’s sweet that she was a fan, but not Jacob-obsessed prior to their relationship.

Along with experiencing all the new 2025 movie releases coming to theaters this year, it’s a blast to relive old favorites with an audience on the big screen. And the latest franchise to get this treatment is officially set to be the Twilight films. As a longtime fan, I want to talk about the four major scenes I'm thrilled to see in theaters again.

The ‘Say It Out Loud’ Scene In Twilight

Now that I think about it, I’m not sure I actually saw Twilight for the first time in theaters – I think it was on DVD, but I definitely want to buy a ticket on Fathom Entertainment for a Twilight showing especially to see the first time Bella figures out Edward Cullen is a vampire. I know people love to make fun of this series of vampire movies, but I’m personally never getting over the stylistic and totally punk rock direction Catherine Hardwicke gave to the first film, including its iconic blue filter. Twilight is playing in theaters on October 29.

Bella’s Italian Mad Dash In New Moon

Another big moment I’m dying to see again is the epic moment in New Moon when Bella races off to Italy with Alice Cullen in order to save Edward from exposing himself as a vampire to the public by taking his shirt off and getting all sparkly in the sunlight. I truly think the sequence is thrillingly shot, and it makes for a really emotional moment between Edward and Bella. (No wonder: Robert Pattinson is one of our best actors working today!) New Moon is playing in theaters on October 30.

Edward & Bella's Wedding In Breaking Dawn Part 1

Oddly enough, the movie I didn’t pick a scene from, Eclipse, is the Twilight movie playing on the day of Halloween, October 31, but while I don’t have a special scene to highlight, I absolutely want to go back to theaters to catch the third one film in the franchise as well. However: not as much as I want to see Edward and Bella’s wedding scene in Breaking Dawn Part 1. In a series with a lot of drama, this is the most romantic scene in the franchise, and it’d be so nostalgic to me to relive it with an audience. Breaking Dawn Part 1 will be in theaters on November 1.

The Twist Ending In Breaking Dawn Part 2

Finally, one more big scene I'm anticipating seeing in theaters from Twilight is the big ending twist in Breaking Dawn Part 2 that had book fans like me completely shocked and then amazed. The final movie in the series (which is admittedly my least favorite of the series) really threw me for a loop when it chose to show Alice’s visions and make us believe all of the death and chaos was really happening. The last Twilight movie is set to end the franchise’s theatrical takeover on November 2.

Clearly there’s a lot here I want to see; the question is which I will pick to see, or if I’ll just splurge on a week of theatrical showings? Since the Twilight movies aren’t on Netflix, it feels like a really fun event to go to during spooky season, especially as we wait to hear more about the Twilight animated series on the way.

If you are in need of some good 2000s nostalgia, you’ve come to the right place. Taylor Lautner is the king of reminding everyone, and specifically his superfan wife, of his glory days as a teen heartthrob. He recently tried to remind fans of his epic rizz in Cheaper By The Dozen 2, but his former co-star ended up stealing the show in the comments, and I love this funny, yet unexpected, exchange so much.

Movies on the lawn are the perfect summer date night, especially if you are the Twilight actor. In 2005, when Cheaper By The Dozen 2 came out, Lautner was THE heartthrob for tweens, and he continued that trend all the way through the Twilight Saga.

If anyone is a bigger nostalgia fan than Lautner, it’s Stoner. The Step Up alum has always had fun recreating iconic scenes from her early days, including a fun Cheaper By The Dozen reunion video during the pandemic.

What I need now is to see these two former Disney stars reunite in person and rehash their careers, potentially on the Lautners’ podcast The Squeeze. I would love to see them either rewatch the full movie together or react to the recent remake of the beloved Steve Martin film.

Most of all, this video made me realize how much I miss seeing Taylor Lautner, as the last time he appeared on my feed was two years ago in Taylor Swift’s “I Can See You (TV)” music video. If the rumors are true, he might be following in Stoner’s footsteps and joining Dancing With The Stars, meaning Shark Boy could be swimming into weekly programming on the 2025 TV schedule. We’ll be sure to keep an eye out for an official DWTS announcement.

Rather than announcing the celebrity contestants all at once right before the show starts, they’re slowly rolling them out. Now, there are rumors about who might join next, and the group includes Savannah Chrisley. However, I’m the most intrigued by the rumors about Twilight’s Taylor Lautner and his wife, Taylor Lautner.

There’s A Rumor Going Around That Savannah Chrisley Might Join Dancing With The Stars

So far, we know that TikTok star Alix Earle is set to compete on DWTS, and so is Robert Irwin, who will follow in the footsteps of his sister, Bindi Irwin. Season 34 will also feature two Secret Lives of Mormon Wives stars – Jen Affleck and Whitney Leavitt. Now, adding to all this is a rumor that another reality star, Savannah Chrisley, might be joining the ranks, too.

Apparently, the Chrisley Knows Best star has been in talks to do the show before; however, according to an insider who spoke to The U.S. Sun, it’s never worked out. It might this time, though, as the source alleged that Chrisley is “in talks.” They also made claims about how this could be one of DWTS's more controversial castings this season, explaining:

For years, the Chrisley family has been making headlines. However, when Todd and Julie Chrisley were arrested and President Donald Trump pardoned them, there was a lot more news breaking about the family. Considering their history as well as this recent situation, Savannah’s involvement in DWTS would definitely be talked about if this rumor turns out to be true.

However, I think I’m even more intrigued by the next casting rumor…

I’m Intrigued By The Idea Of Taylor Lautner And His Wife Joining The Show

According to the same insider, Twilight star Taylor Lautner is one of Dancing with the Stars’ “top people.” However, he’s apparently not the only Taylor Lautner being considered. The source alleged that his wife, who shares the same first and last name, might join too:

I totally agree that the two Taylor Lautners (or is it Taylors Lautner) would be a great fit for this show in general. They both have fun personalities, they seem game to learn, and the actor Taylor Lautner can indeed do flips. In fact, he did one on the Eras Tour stage a couple of years ago.

Plus, with so many married pro couples on the show – like Pasha Pashkov and Daniella Karagach and Jenna Johnson and Val Chmerkovskiy – it’d be fun to see them paired with one of these duos.

All around, there’s a lot of fun to be had by casting Taylor Lautner and potentially his wife, Taylor Lautner, so I hope it happens.

However, for now, it’s just a fun rumor. So, as we learn more about the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars (which will be available on ABC and with a Disney+ subscription this fall), we’ll keep you posted.

When it comes to carrying out a successful ad campaign, there’s one rule advertisers always have in the back of their minds: sex sells. And if there’s one new sex symbol that’s emerged as of late, thanks to the 2025 TV schedule having the fabulous Season 3 of The Traitors, it’s Dylan Efron. Old Navy is using this to their advantage for their new activewear campaign, but I wasn’t expecting Taylor Lautner to be part of the spicy comment section.

Dylan Efron is one of the faces of Old Navy in a clever ad that has him wearing the clothing in one photo, and wearing absolutely nothing at all in another. As Efron commented with the new photos, he was “saved by the logo.” Check it out:

This campaign is giving Ken energy for sure. The comment section on Instagram is getting real thirsty too, between one person saying “Never thought I’d have beef with a logo but here we are” and another writing “Don’t be shy remove the logo 🤭.”

Since Dylan Efron’s run on The Traitors, the reality star has opened up about how good it has felt to have people “accepting” him, how it's “the best gift” he could ask for, and how being more than just Zac Efron’s brother has its perks.

Dylan Efron is also joined by Lindsay Lohan, Quen Blackwell and Charo in the Old Navy campaign. It’s the company’s first advertising effort focused on activewear in over a decade, and considering their angle, I think it might be working on us already.

It seems like a no-win situation for Selena Gomez when it comes to the cruel comments from body-shamers. At the SAG Awards, which aired February 23 on the 2025 TV schedule, the actress showed off what some called a “dramatic weight loss.” People were quick to hit social media with their accusations and unsolicited opinions, and Taylor Lautner wasn’t having it. The Twilight star came to his ex’s defense by showing side-by-side photos of Gomez along with some of the comments.

Taylor Lautner and Selena Gomez briefly dated in 2009, and despite the fact that both have long since moved on — Lautner married his wife of the same name in 2022, and Gomez got engaged to Benny Blanco in December — he apparently felt compelled to speak out against the hate. Over the 2025 photo, which showed the Emilia Pérez actress’ slimmer physique, Lautner highlighted just how hypocritical people could be by adding the following comments:

• Skinnier isn’t prettier, and here’s the proof. Keep your curves.
• Award Season Ozempic 24 mg. pathetic
• She was a whale a couple of weeks ago. It’s magic.

It really is disheartening to look at the two images side-by-side and see that body-shamers will never be satisfied, no matter what size someone is.

This is an issue Selena Gomez has been forced to address multiple times in the past. She’s spoken out about having lupus, telling fans her medication causes her weight to fluctuate. And she’s said she’d rather be healthy than conform to whatever body type people deem ideal.

Selena Gomez may have medical justification for the changes her body goes through, but she shouldn’t have to justify that to anyone, regardless of the reason. That goes for comments on other celebs’ bodies too, and hopefully, Taylor Lautner pointing out the hypocrisy in body-shaming and calling for people to be kinder will make an impact.

Back in the 2000s at the height of the Twilight franchise’s popularity, many of us were staunchly either Team Edward or Team Jacob. The argument held at least as much, if not more, weight as the Gilmore Girls’ Team Dean/Jess/Logan debate or perhaps who’s the best Chris. Jason Kelce is a little late to the Twilight party, but he appeared on his wife Kylie’s podcast Not Gonna Lie to share his thoughts, and Taylor Lautner even weighed in on his take.

Ultimately, the job complicates things as he is now forced to live a double life: Hollywood actor by day and a werewolf hunter by night.

The news of Lautner’s potential return to acting definitely excited fans of his who grew up proudly wearing “Team Jacob” shirts during the height of The Twilight Saga craze. And the recent news of this project has definitely awoken a few. Like @averybooks, who took a shot at Lautner’s absence from Hollywood in recent years, writing:

It's a sentiment that reads a bit harsh, especially when one considers that Lautner isn’t the only Hollywood star signing on to these meta-roles. In 2022, Nicolas Cage played a fictionalized version of himself in The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, which ended up delighting critics and viewers alike. So, maybe let's not knock it until we try it.

Still, some are having a hard time buying into the wacky premise, going as far as wondering if AI had something to do with it, as @ashlacosplay wrote:

Did they ask chat for ideas because they don't want to pay a real writer?

However, the loudest critiques appear to be from fans of television as a whole, who express frustration in their beloved, original shows getting canceled while silly ideas like this are seemingly greenlit. As @GianzGmez colorfully put it:

Taylor Lautner: Werewolf Hunter isn’t the first potential new show to face such polarizing opinions from TV viewers, and it certainly won’t be the last.

While it’s unlikely the show will appear on the 2025 TV Schedule, there is a part of me that hopes it does see the light of day just so we can get Lautner back on camera. Until then, you can see him in the Twilight movies by streaming them with a Peacock subscription.

Dancing With the Stars brought back Disney Night as Season 33 airs on the 2024 TV schedule, and while some of the song choices were a bit questionable, it was still as fun as ever. The couples danced to some classics and newer songs for the magical night, and the costumes they donned for their routines were excellent. Now, after pro Rylee Arnold showed off partner Stephen Nedoroscik’s shirtless look, the Olympic gymnast had a fun comment...and so did Taylor Lautner.

Arnold and Nedoroscik have been dancing up a storm and they kicked off Disney Night with a Charleston to “A Star is Born” from Hercules. So, the duo were, of course, dressed as Herc and Meg. But looking the part wasn’t just about getting in costume. The pommel horse specialist got his first spray tan so he could really look like the Greek God too, which Arnold was happy to document. She took to Instagram to share a fun video of the spray tan session, and the Disney music really completes it:

While the couple did not get a perfect score for their Charleston, I do have to say that Nedoroscik’s spray tan was certainly perfect. Even Hercules would be proud. That being said, getting a spray tan was the last thing on his mind, because he'd never gotten one before. So, he took to the comments to note that in a funny way:

Considering Stephen Nedoroscik has won an Olympic medal, of course, he's in great shape. However, he hasn't had a reason to wear less clothing and get a spray tan for DWTS yet. So, it tracks that this was the first time he'd gotten one. And plenty of people have been loving seeing this new side of the gymnast, including Taylor Lautner, who is known for being shirtless. However, when he saw this video, he decided to comment on something other than the tan:

Even spray tans videos couldn't go without the Disney music this week, but it was perfect for this moment. Plus, it really highlighted Nedoroscik's transformation into the Disney hero.

Nedoroscik wasn't the only one going through a transformation this week though. As his fellow Olympian Ilona Maher's Encanto performance featured her partner Alan Bersten dressed as a donkey. His makeup was honestly kind of terrifying, and it made him unrecognizable. So, everyone gave Disney Night a full send this week, and I love to see the commitment.

Whether Stephen Nedoroscik will ever get another spray tan or go for an even bigger makeover is unknown, but it looks like he had fun, and that's all that really matters. Plus, fans are loving Nedoroscik, so you bet they'll be invested in his look and dance for next week.

Knowing that Halloween Nightmares is next week's theme, I bet more dramatic transformations are in these competitors' futures. So, fans will have to tune in on Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET on ABC or with a Disney+ subscription to see the spooky fun and the even more terrifying costumes (and spray tans).

However, sometimes an actor shows up in a movie so repugnant that it becomes a detriment to their career or ruins it entirely. One day you’re winning the Oscar for Best Picture, the next you’re taking home some Razzies.

The Love Guru (Mike Myers)

Mike Myers had a stellar career on Saturday Night Live and was one of the funniest movie stars of the latter part of the 20th century thanks to ‘90s comedy movies like Wayne’s World and Austin Powers franchises, but the 2000s weren’t as kind to the comedian. After a string of duds, Myers starred in 2008’s The Love Guru, a “comedy” so bad, so tasteless, and so unfunny that Myers never really rebounded outside of voice roles.

Showgirls (Elizabeth Berkley)

Elizabeth Berkley seemed like a star on the rise after ending her run on Saved by the Bell in the early ‘90s, but that all came crashing down after taking the lead role in Paul Verhoeven’s erotic drama, Showgirls. Sure, the movie about a young drifter finding her place in Las Vegas’ showgirl scene is considered a cult classic years later, but there’s a reason we didn’t see too much of Berkley on the big screen after this one.

Batman & Robin (Alicia Silverstone)

Alicia Silverstone was one of the “it” girls of ‘90s cinema thanks to iconic performances in the likes of Clueless, The Crush, and all those Aerosmith videos, so it only seemed natural for her to land one of the lead roles in Batman & Robin. Unfortunately for Silverstone, and everyone else involved, the movie was abysmal and resulted in a complete reboot of the franchise, one that wouldn’t arrive until Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins debuted nearly a decade later.

The Master Of Disguise (Dana Carvey)

Both before and after his SNL run, Dana Carvey appeared in classics like This Is Spinal Tap and Wayne’s World. That success would run dry with the 2002 release of The Master of Disguise, a movie that showcased Carvey’s zany characters, but not much else. 

Rollerball (Chris Klein)

Remember when Chris Klein seemed like a star in the making after great performances in Election and American Pie? Well, that was all ruined with the 2002 release of Rollerball, a remake of a better and more cohesive ‘70s movie of the same name. 

Norbit (Eddie Murphy)

Some of Eddie Murphy’s best movies were those where he played multiple characters, but Norbit is no Coming to America or The Nutty Professor. This 2007 comedy saw Murphy play an unhappily married couple and was received so poorly that people are still not convinced it didn't cost him an Oscar for his Dreamgirls performance.

Superman Returns (Brandon Routh)

It’s not like Brandon Routh never acted again after playing the titular hero in Superman Returns, but it’s safe to say his career never reached great heights after the 2006 movie either. He was great as Todd Ingram in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, but Routh hasn’t had a remarkable go of it after having such a grand start.

Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace (Ahmed Best)

It’s not Ahmed Best’s fault Star Wars Episode I – The Phantom Menace was so bad. It’s not Ahmed Best’s fault Jar Jar Binks has become one of the most detested characters in the galaxy far, far away. And it’s not Ahmed Best’s fault his career was ruined by the 1999 prequel film. 

In The Cut (Meg Ryan)

Meg Ryan was coming off a string of appearing in some of the best romantic comedies of all time when she took on a more dramatic role in the 2003 thriller, In the Cut. But for some reason, Jane Campion’s thriller about a woman getting wrapped up in a series of murders just didn’t work.

Battlefield Earth (John Travolta)

Battlefield Earth, with all of its Dutch angles, terrible lines, and over-the-top performances was so bad that it canceled out all the goodwill John Travolta earned with Pulp Fiction not even a decade earlier.

Soul Man (C. Thomas Howell)

E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, The Outsiders, and  Red Dawn all made C. Thomas Howell one of the brightest young Hollywood stars in the early-to-mid ‘80s, but then came Soul Man, a movie in which he wore blackface. Howell’s been in scores of movies since, but most are direct-to-video or bargain bin material.

Son Of The Mask (Jamie Kennedy)

A sequel no one wanted, Son of the Mask brought in Jamie Kennedy to try and recapture the energy of Jim Carrey more than a decade earlier. Despite his best efforts, the Malibu’s Most Wanted and Scream star just couldn’t do it (maybe the script is to blame), and he never really rebounded. 

Sahara (Matthew McConaughey)

Though not Matthew McConaughey’s worst movie, Sahara is far from being his best. Released nearly a decade before the Dallas Buyers Club and True Detective star won all kinds of awards during the peak of the “McConaissance,” this 2005 dud was one of the straws that broke the camel’s back.

Abduction (Taylor Lautner)

Remember when Taylor Lautner seemed like one of the biggest stars on the planet and then abruptly disappeared? Well, we probably have Abduction, his 2011 action thriller to blame for that. Though he would have a few movies after the Twilight saga ended the next year, but Grown Ups 2 and The Ridiculous 6 finished off what Abduction started.

John Carter (Taylor Kitsch)

John Carter was supposed to be the biggest movie and Taylor Kitsch was going to become the biggest action star, but neither happened after this 2012 box office disaster happened. The Friday Night Lights star would show up some more on the small screen in the years that followed with True Detective Season 2 and the bonkers Waco limited series.

The Godfather Part III (Sofia Coppola)

Before becoming one of the big filmmakers of her time and crafting movies like Lost in Translation, Marie Antoinette, and Priscilla, Sofia Coppola began as an actress, appearing in many films by her father, Francis Ford Coppola. But that acting career pretty much came to an end following the release of The Godfather Part III, in which she replaced Winona Ryder and was then torn apart by critics.

Josie And The Pussycats (Rachael Leigh Cook)

In the late ‘90s, Rachael Leigh Cook became a massive star thanks to her take on Laney Boggs in She’s All That. But then came the 2001 adaptation of Josie and the Pussycats, a movie so bad that no one was safe from its fallout outside of Rosario Dawson and Parker Posey.

The Postman (Kevin Costner)

Kevin Costner was on top of the world when he decided to direct and star in The Postman. But unlike Dances with Wolves, which earned him multiple Oscars and a ton of praise, this 1997 sci-fi epic didn’t impress anyone and set the actor back a bit. He’s since rebounded, but it’s not hard to imagine “what if” in this case.

After Earth (Jaden Smith)

With memorable performances in The Pursuit of Happyness and The Karate Kid, Jaden Smith seemed like the next second-generation star to take over Hollywood. But then came After Earth, a forgettable (at best) sci-fi thriller alongside his dad, Will Smith. 

Pinocchio (Roberto Benigni)

For a while there, it seemed like Roberto Benigni couldn’t do anything wrong as both an actor and filmmaker. Well, that all changed with his 2002 adaptation of Pinocchio, specifically the English dub, which earned a stunning 0% score on Rotten Tomatoes. He’s only appeared in a handful of movies since, including the 2019 adaptation of Carlo Collodi’s classic tale.

The Passion Of The Christ (Jim Caviezel)

Though he’ll always be recognizable thanks to his portrayal of Jesus in Mel Gibson’s The Passion of the Christ, Jim Caviezel’s career was never the same after this historic film. He’s still making movies, but not on the same level as The Thin Red Line, The Rock, or G.I. Jane, though his run on Person of Interest was impressive.

Cutthroat Island (Matthew Modine)

A few years before the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise took the pirate genre to new heights, Matthew Modine starred in 1995’s Cutthroat Island, a movie that would prove to be detrimental to his career for years to come. Modine would later find success again after working on shows like Weeds and Stranger Things, but it would take many years to get there.

Catwoman (Halle Berry)

Halle Berry was an Oscar-winning actress when she took on the lead role in Catwoman, which is often considered one of the worst superhero movies of all time. And while it would take a few years for the stink to wash off, Berry did have some fun with the experience and even accepted her own Razzy.

The Lone Ranger (Johnny Depp)

The Lone Ranger somehow received an Oscar nomination, which doesn’t make sense considering it stopped Armie Hammer from becoming a massive action star and cooled off Johnny Depp’s incredible box office run. Aside from Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Depp hasn’t had a whole lot of success since.

The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen (Sean Connery)

Sean Connery famously retired from acting after appearing in The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, which is a shame because the late James Bond actor’s swan song was out of tune and off-key, to say the least. This abysmal book-to-screen adaptation of one of the best graphic novels of the 20th century is often forgotten 20-plus years after its release, and it’s probably for the better.

Welcome To Mooseport (Gene Hackman)

Gene Hackman has had one of the best careers in Hollywood history, but that all came to an end after the release of Welcome to Mooseport. Hackman, who seems to be living a quiet and reclusive life these days, hasn’t been on screen since this 2004 comedy starring Ray Romano. Though not the worst movie ever made, this box office and critical dud didn’t do anyone any favors.

Howard The Duck (Lea Thompson)

An ‘80s movie that has not stood the test of time, Howard the Duck is one of those comic book movies that came out before Hollywood figured things out when it came to the genre. Though Robin Williams jumped ship and salvaged his career, Lea Thompson wasn’t as lucky and went through a tough stage before finally rebounding.

Freddy Got Fingered (Tom Green)

Freddy Got Fingered was never supposed to be a good movie, but Tom Green’s bonkers big-screen gross-fest was enough to turn people off to the idea of the MTV personality and prankster ever getting a large sum of cash ever again. Those who have seen it know why, and those who haven’t should be warned.

Chairman Of The Board (Carrot Top)

Carrot Top is still making the rounds as a prop comedian, but the eccentric showman has not been given the lead role in a movie since the disaster of Chairman of the Board. Forgettable even by ‘90s standards, this movie was made for an audience of one: its star.

Boat Trip (Cuba Gooding Jr.)

Cuba Gooding Jr. in the ‘90s: Boyz n the Hood, A Few Good Men, Jerry Maguire, As Good as It Gets. Cuba Gooding Jr. in the 2000s: Rat Race, Snow Dogs, Boat Trip. That last film was tasteless, awkward, and just about killed the Oscar winner’s career.

Corky Ramano (Chris Katan)

Though not everyone from SNL can become a Will Ferrell, Kristen Wiig, or Bill Murray, it at least seemed like Chris Katan would find some success outside of Studio 8H. However, he had to go make Corky Ramano, which is probably the worst comedy to come from the group.

The Great Dictator (Charlie Chaplin)

The Great Dictator is a great movie, and perhaps one of the best of Charlie Chaplin’s career. However, it now has a legacy of poking fun at Adolf Hitler during a time in which the Nazi leader was systematically exterminating tens of millions of innocent souls across the Atlantic.

One of the best vampire movies we’ve seen from Hollywood is the 2008 adaptation of Stephanie Meyer’s Twilight starring Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. The brooding romance became so popular that it spawned four more movies and helped launch the careers of many of the members of the Twilight cast. While the franchise often deals with some major life-and-death situations along with putting a new twist on the mythology of vampires and werewolves, there are many instances where they were surprisingly funny, too. 

"You better hold on tight, spider monkey." - Edward Cullen, Twilight 

One of the most iconic lines in the Twilight saga comes during the first movie not long after Bella Swan officially learns Edward Cullen is a vampire. During one of their dates following Edward being candid about his big secret, he has her go on his back and they do a high-flying jaunt through Forks, Washington’s lush forests. As they get ready to do this, Bella calls her a spider monkey… being the romantic he is, of course. 

“You know, your mood swings are kind of giving me whiplash.” - Bella Swan, Twilight  

When Bella Swan is first getting to know her mysterious lab partner, Edward Cullen, she notices that his mood changes by the day. When she comments on his “mood swings,” she has of course no idea that he’s really a vampire who was sometimes between excursions to feed on animal blood. 

“Bella! Where the hell have you been, loca?”- Jacob Black, New Moon

When Bella Swan deals with an agonizing breakup with Edward Cullen in the second movie, New Moon, she reconnects with her childhood friend, Jacob Black. When he first greets her, he says this memorable line that will likely be quoted to Taylor Lautner for the rest of his life. 

“Get a whiff of that, here comes the human!” - Rosalie Hale, Twilight 

Most people can relate to the anxiety that might accompany introducing one’s date to their parents for the first time. In the case of Bella Swan meeting the Cullens, his vampire mother Esme Cullen could literally smell Bella coming to their home due to the odor from her blood! 

“I vote yes. It would be nice not to want to kill you all the time.” - Jasper, New Moon 

Before Bella Swan becomes a vampire at the end of Breaking Dawn, Part 1, the Cullen family spend a lot of time thinking about whether they are going to allow the teen to be part of their vampire family. During a vote in New Moon, Jasper Hale, who is the newest vampire of the bunch shares he’s very into the idea because as a human he always has thoughts of sucking her sweet, sweet blood. 

“I guess the wolf’s out of the bag.” - Embry Call, New Moon 

In New Moon, Bella Swan learns that Forks, Washington isn’t only the home to a family of vampires but a clan of werewolves, too! Bella first finds out when one of the members of Jacob’s pack gets heated during a conversation with them and transforms into a werewolf in front of her eyes. After the intense moment, one of the members of the pack, Embry Call, quips with this funny line. 

“Bella, what is that god awful wet dog smell?” - Alice Cullen, New Moon 

As the vampires and werewolves of Forks interact throughout the Twilight movies, it’s made pretty apparent that they both don’t like each other much. When Alice Cullen comes back to see Bella after Edward previously broke up with her, she notices right away that she’s been spending a lot of time with werewolves with this quote. 

Jessica Stanley: “Aren’t people from Arizona supposed to be like, really tan?” Bella Swan: “Yeah, maybe that’s why they kicked me out.” - Twilight

Twilight begins with Bella Swan moving to Forks, Washington to live with her father after living in Phoenix, Arizona with her mom for some time. Early in the movie as she is getting to know her classmates, there are quite a few awkward moments, like Anna Kendrick’s Jessica Stanley quipping about how her complexion is rather pale for someone from Arizona. 

"Bella, I hope you've gotten enough sleep these last 18 years. Because you won't be getting anymore for a while!” - Emmett Cullen, Breaking Dawn Part 1

Leave it to the best man to embarrass the bride and groom at the wedding! In Breaking Dawn Part 1 during the couple's lavish backyard reception, Edward's vampire brother offers a toast to the newlyweds by telling Bella he hopes she got "enough sleep." It's of course a reference to her plans to become a vampire, and vampires don't sleep! 

"Could you at least act human? I mean, I've got neighbors." - Bella Swan, Twilight  

Once Edward and Bella have fully talked about his secret identity as a vampire in the first Twilight movie, he starts getting a little show-offy around her while they are hanging out at her front porch. Bella responds with a funny line asking her new boyfriend to at least try to “act human.” 

“Is she even Italian?” - Rosalie Hale, Twilight

If you didn’t know, Bella isn’t just a name, it also means “beautiful” in Italian. So, when Bella Swan met Edward’s family for the first time, they decided to take inspiration by cooking her an Italian dinner in celebration of her name. No, the character isn’t Italian, which Rosalie mentions right before the meeting before smashing a bowl of salad upon their first meeting. 

Yeah, I had an adrenaline rush. It’s very common. You can Google it.” - Edward Cullen, Twilight 

In the early days of Edward and Bella’s relationship, Bella is always questioning and trying to figure him out, especially after he runs over and pushes an entire van from slamming into her early into Twilight. When she probes him about it, he at first simply chalks it up to an “adrenaline rush.” 

“Nessie? You nicknamed my daughter after the Loch Ness monster?” - Bella Swan, Breaking Dawn, Part 2 

And, who can forget Edward and Bella’s creepy vampire baby, Renesmee whom Jacob Black imprints on in Breaking Dawn, Part 2? It was a controversial development in the franchise for sure, but the movie wasn’t afraid to make light of it in one confrontation between Bella and Jacob where he calls her Nessie and the new mother goes berserk on him about it.  

“Doesn’t he own a shirt?” - Edward Cullen, Eclipse  

In order to transform into Jacob Black as a werewolf in New Moon, Taylor Lautner got into crazy good shape for the second movie and so forth. But then the movies became known for Jacob often taking off his shirt on camera. In one scene in Eclipse, Edward jokes about this to Bella by asking if he even owns a shirt. 

"I kissed Bella and she broke her hand. Punching my face. It was a complete misunderstanding." - Jacob Black, Eclipse  

A big part of the Twilight movies was the contention between Edward and Jacob, which Taylor Lautner has shared even spilled into their actual relationship. During Eclipse, Jacob ends up actually kissing Bella while she’s in a relationship with Edward, which leads her to punch him in the face and break her hand because he’s a werewolf. After the incident, Jacob and Edward square off, leading Bella’s dad Charlie to sense the tension and ask what’s wrong. This is how Jacob matter of factly responds and it brings out the comedy of the situation quickly. 

Bella Swan: "So, this party. Will there be strippers?" Edward Cullen: “Just a few mountain lions, a couple grizzly bears.” - Breaking Dawn Part 1 

In the first Breaking Dawn movie, Edward and Bella get married, but before they do Edward is stolen away in the night by his brothers for his bachelor party. Bella asks if he’ll have a typical party involving dancers, but he shares that it will involve mountain lions and grizzly bears instead. He’s fully serious, but it is a bit funny that the night before his wedding he’ll be hanging out with animals instead of going out to bars. 

Bella Swan: “How long have you been 17?” Edward Cullen: "A while..." - Twilight 

During Twilight, Bella Swan finally comes up with the right theory to explain all the wild things going on with her lab partner, Edward Cullen. They meet in the woods and Bella Swan shares that she knows what he is. Before flat out saying “vampire,” she asks him how long he’s been 17 years old. While it’s a serious moment, Edward breaks the tension a bit by simply answering with “a while.” 

“...So you're the wolf girl.” - Bella Swan, New Moon

While Bella Swan is hanging out with Jacob Black in New Moon, she comes across another clan of mythical creatures in his secret werewolf pack. There she meets Emily Young, who is the fiancée to the leader of the pack, Sam Uley. Bella. When she meets Emily she calls her the “vampire girl,” to which she responds with the above line. 

Bella Swan: “Look, you gotta give me some answers.” Edward: “Yes. No. To get to the other side. Uh, 1.77245…” - Twilight 

It’s no secret Robert Pattinson’s Edward Cullen can be rather snarky throughout the Twilight movies, and he definitely is as Bella is trying to figure out his true identity. At one point, Bella flat-out asks for answers. Edward gets sarcastic by giving some common answers to things, especially since he’s not ready to tell her the truth on the subject. 

“I'm nearly one hundred and ten. It's time I settled down.” - Edward Cullen, New Moon 

Throughout most of the Twilight saga, Edward and Bella are contemplating forever as a couple. While Edward starts off rather resistant to the idea of Bella becoming a vampire and being with him for eternity, he does come around to it, quipping that he might as well settle down now that he’s over a century old. 

"Edward will be a good husband. I know this because I'm a cop. I know things. Like how to hunt somebody to the ends of the earth. And I know how to use a gun." - Charlie Swan, Breaking Dawn Part 1 

Billy Burke’s Charlie Swan is one of the highlight characters of the Twilight saga, as he often offsets all the vampire and werewolf drama for a more straight-shooter dad approach. One of his funniest moments comes during his speech at Edward and Bella’s wedding, where he lightly threatens Edward while talking about why he’ll be a good husband. 

"My monkey man." - Rosalie Hale, Twilight  

An especially memorable scene from the first Twilight movie is when Bella is invited to play baseball with the Cullens during a thunderstorm. As Bella witnesses a truly incredible game of the sport as the vampires fly through the air, one moment has Emmett climbing a tree to catch the ball. Rosalie commentates on the moment by calling her lover her “monkey man” in a very loving, but objectively funny way. 

“Let's face it, I am hotter than you.” - Jacob Black, Eclipse 

Ah, the Edward vs. Jacob matchup. Bella’s love triangle between the two boys really fuels the franchise throughout the movies and as the movies continue to unfold, it’s funny to see the two men take digs at each other. One especially good one is when Jacob Black tells Edward he is “hotter” than him, which is actually scientifically true since werewolf temperatures are higher than humans, while vampires are known in the franchise as the “cold ones.” 

How you likin' da rain, girl?" - Mike Newton, Twilight

In the first Twilight movie, Bella being the new girl in high school proves to make her instantly interesting to a number of guys. It makes for some awkward but quite funny moments, including this one where Mike Newton asks her if she likes the rain in a questionable accent as Eric is trying to ask her to prom. Ah, teen boys! 

Eric Yorkie: “La Push, baby… It’s… La Push.” Bella Swan: "Ok, I'll go if you stop saying that." -Twilight

Bella has to hold her own a lot as the new girl in school whom Jessica describes as being like a “shiny toy” to the other guys. In one memorable scene, Eric keeps calling one of the beaches “La Push, baby.” Bella gives a hilarious response back by calling him out, saying she’ll only go with him if he basically stops being annoying. 

Charlie Swan: “Are those graduation caps?” Renée Dwyer: “Ha! How creative” Charlie: “Or, weird.” - Breaking Dawn, Part 1 

In the first Twilight, when Edward shows Bella his gorgeous house, she notices a massive display of graduation caps over the years, since the Cullens have reached the milestones many times before. Then, in Breaking Dawn Part 1, ahead of Bella getting married, her parents notice it. While her mom brushes it off, Charlie hilariously calls out how “weird” it is.

Bella starts to notice something fishy going on with Edward quite early into knowing each other, which totally throws the secret vampire off guard. In one scene, Bella comments on his eyes changing colors from the last time they spoke. Thrown off by the comment, Edward just says it’s the “fluorescence” and storms off.

When Edward and Bella get married in Breaking Dawn Part 1, her human friends have some funny commentary while attending the picturesque ceremony. Edward and Bella get plenty romantic and steamy throughout the Twilight movies, but in one awkward sequence in Eclipse, Edward straight up asks her to stop taking her clothes off because he doesn’t want to go there yet with their sexual intimacy. It gets to the point he is trying to make, but is bluntly funny as well.

Another funny quote in Twilight is when Jacob Black strips down in front of Charlie in the forest right before showing him he’s really a werewolf. Charlie has no idea what’s about to happen, so he says this line right before Jacob transforms in front of him to his big surprise. 

Twilight may be a thrilling romance, but all those quotes prove there are so many funny moments throughout the five movies as well! 

Taylor Lautner and his wife have a lot in common. Other than the shared love the two have for each other, as the Lautners also share the same first and last name. Now, it would seem that the couple is further the concept of twinning and doing so in a fun way. The pair both slayed in the same black dress by way of some funny TikToks. And yes, the clips are just as delightful as you'd probably imagine them to be.

What brought a smile to my face was seeing the Twilight actor wear this same outfit with rising white socks in heels showing off his sexy bare leg. He absolutely played the part of a diva in this TikTok. Many comments jokingly asked how we’d be able to tell the two Taylor Lautners apart since they wee wearing the same ensemble. Not only that, but users felt they both killed in the dress, and I have to agree.

Her sisterly instincts proved to be correct, as the two Taylors got married after four years of dating, and they became Mr. and Mrs. Taylor Lautner. The Mrs. was apparently weeping so hard that it took her a while to finally say yes in between sobs.

Taylor Lautner and his wife may share the same name, but it doesn’t mean the two can pull off wearing the same dress at events together. Still, I think the funny pair ultimately made a solid compromise when deciding who would wear the piece. Here’s how the actor was able to take back the role and play the werewolf for all five movies. 

Following the end of the franchise, Taylor Lautner left Hollywood for a few years. Recently, the actor has been back in the public eye hosting a wellness podcast called The Squeeze with his wife, who is also now named Taylor Lautner. He also made a surprise appearance in Taylor Swift’s “I Can See You” music video over the summer. Let’s go back in time and talk through the full story behind Lautner’s Twilight casting… and recasting. 

How Taylor Lautner Was Cast In Twilight 

Taylor Lautner got started in Hollywood at the age of 9, appearing in television roles and voiceover opportunities on animated shows like Danny Phantom, Duck Dodgers and What’s New, Scooby Doo? The actor scored his first big movie role in 2005 when he starred in Robert Rodriguez’s The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl in 3D before also finding a role in Cheaper By The Dozen 2, starring Steve Martin. 

While speaking on The Squeeze earlier this year, Lautner shared that between the ages of 13 and 16, he “couldn’t book a job” and had had come to the conclusion in his mind that if he didn’t get anything by the end of the school year, he was going to “hang it up.” But then he was given the opportunity to screen test for two movies on the same day: Disney’s Race To Witch Mountain starring Dwayne Johnson, and Twilight, the latter of which he was much less excited about booking. Here’s what Lautner shared about what happened: 

Lautner would go on to play the small role of Jacob Black in the first Twilight alongside Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. Of course, the real meat of the character takes place after the first Twilight, and when the sequel was greenlit, another director was hired to helm New Moon. 

That Time Taylor Lautner Was Going To Be Recast For New Moon

The Twilight actors apparently didn’t sign multi-movie contracts because when it came time for New Moon, Taylor Lautner’s role in the franchise went up in the air. While speaking to the Good Guys Podcast in October, the actor shared he had yet to be hired for the sequel. In his words: 

As Lautner shared unprompted, the actor decided to transform his body in preparation for playing out Jacob Black’s werewolf arc even though he had not been confirmed to return, which he would go on to call a “nightmare.” Taylor Lautner said that it was his father who actually sat him down and convinced him to take the initiative. Even so, Lautner got a call that he was going to be recast. Now let's get into how he turned it around. 

How Taylor Lautner Got His Role Back

Taylor Lautner shared that he “kind of saw” the recasting coming considering the shape he was in Twilight would not be up to par with who Jacob Black turns into. So when his representation got the call about the studio’s decision, they apparently asked if they had seen Taylor recently and agreed to see him about New Moon. Here’s what happened next, per Lautner: 

Lautner was understandably frustrated with the recasting search after he had put in months of work to bulk up. As the actor continued: 

Kristen Stewart helped advocate for Lautner’s return, and ultimately he won the role once again against a host of jacked-up talent, who he said were significantly older than him. 

What Taylor Lautner Learned From Almost Being Recast In Twilight

When Lautner returned to the Twilight franchise, the actor recalled heading to the set of New Moon “ready to prove” himself after almost being booted from the movie. On the plus side, because Lautner and what sounds like the rest of the main Twilight cast were not signed to five-picture contracts, they had the chance to renegotiate a few times during the franchise’s run. As Lautner said:

Dollar signs aside, Lautner learned a lot about himself after starring in the Twilight franchise. Aside from experiencing the downsides of fame early in his life, he realized he often felt a sense of “desperation” when it came to his career. In the years following his massive Twilight role, he decided to reframe from putting all his “self worth” into his career to focusing on other elements of his life, and that led to him meeting his wife and getting to the place he is now. 

The 31-year-old is now happily married and has a successful podcast with his wife. While he’s shared interest in playing Twilight’s Jacob again, he’d only do so with a “trim and healthy” body rather than what he put his body through before, and it sounds like it certainly wouldn’t be his first priority. On the first night of the album’s release on July 7, Swift, who was playing a show in Kansas City, surprised fans with a live premiere of a music video for one of the album’s vault tracks “I Can See You” starring Taylor Lautner and Joey King. Then she brought out both actors on The Eras Tour stage, but how did this all come about?

Following their breakup, Swift put out “Back To December” from her original Speak Now album showing regret for ending things with the Twilight star. 

Cut to over a decade later, Lautner is happily married to Taylor Dome, who became Taylor Lautner too when they tied the knot last November. Some partners might get concerned over an ex reaching out, but when Lautner learned Taylor Swift’s management was trying to get in touch with him, his wife was over the moon about the opportunity, even before Lautner had even heard the pitch for “I Can See You.” 

The couple both flew to Liverpool to shoot the music video, and the three Taylors recreated the Spider-Man meme while on set. When it came time to premiere the music video for a sea of Swifties in July, both Taylor Lautners attended the Kansas City show. When Lautner took the stage, he gushed about Taylor Swift on stage, telling her how much he respected her “not for the singer you are, the songwriter, the performer, but truly for the human you are.” It was such a cute moment for the exes all this time later!

We’ve heard before that Henry Cavill was sought after to play the vampire, and Shadow & Bone’s Ben Barnes, Evil Dead’s Shiloh Fernandez and the franchise’s own Jackson Rathbone were finalists to star against Kristen Stewart’s Bella Swan. But did you know Josh Peck was almost cast as well? 

Well, the Drake & Josh star shared this week that back in 2006, in the midst of leading the Nickelodeon sitcom, he tried out for the role too. He wasn’t confident he was right for the part, as she shared:  

Robert Pattinson and Josh Peck have completely different vibes. At the time, Pattinson had spent his teenage years as a model before acting in a host of dramas and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. He had the brooding thing going for him already. Peck, on the other hand, had started to establish himself as a young comedic actor in the hilarious Drake & Josh series. The same year, he also voiced the role of a comical opossum in Ice Age: The Meltdown. You can understand how he wasn’t sure he’d sell the world on “I’m the skin of a killer, Bella.” 

Peck revealed his surprising audition during a new episode of the Good Guys Podcast, which the actor hosts with influencer Ben Soffer, where the pair had Twilight’s Taylor Lautner on the show. Check out the moment where Peck shared with the Jacob Black actor their missed movie connection:

Taylor Lautner shared he had no idea the actor ever was up for Edward Cullen, and Peck joked they “almost worked together!” Young actors surely audition for all sorts of random projects blindly, and it’s pretty funny to see Peck’s reaction to almost being in Twilight because his work is basically the complete opposite of Robert Pattinson’s. 

Peck may not have been the lion to Bella Swan’s lamb, but he’s rather famous for his Nickelodeon sitcom that co-starred  Drake Bell and aired at the time, even if he’s debunked the idea that the series made him rich. Peck has also been in a host of comedies over the years, and was even part of Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer cast over the summer as American physicist Kenneth Bainbridge. Now, he does share something with Pattinson since the British actor starred in 2020’s Tenet and worked with Nolan as well. 

While Peck admittedly wasn’t born to play Edward Cullen, by losing the part, he didn’t have to take part in the Team Edward/Team Jacob rivalries or spend a lot of time getting into shape as a Twilight love interest like Lautner did and once called an “absolute nightmare.”  The filmmakers really did find a great Edward Cullen in Robert Pattinson. Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour era will be looked back on by Swifties as one of the most memorable of the singer’s career, because so many exciting things are happening every night of it. One particularly thrilling development from the tour came when Swift premiered her music video for “I Can See You” in Kansas City before bringing out the video’s stars, which included Taylor Lautner. The Twilight star graced the audience with a backflip moment before gushing about the singer in front of a sea of fans, and it went massively viral. Now, the actor is explaining why he decided to give such a sweet speech about his ex-turned-friend.

Lautner has been praised for taking the microphone during his moment on stage to tell his famous ex, in front of the world, that he respects her so much saying: “not for the singer you are, the songwriter, the performer, but truly for the human you are.” When looking back at the moment this week on his podcast The Squeeze, Lautner said this about taking the Eras Tour stage:

Along with this uplifting message, both Taylor Lautners attended the Eras Tour that night, and they shared that they had an absolute blast seeing Swift’s show and even trading friendship bracelets with other fans. 

Taylor Lautner’s attendance at the Eras Tour and his role in the “I Can See You” music video is a callback to him and Swift being a couple during the making of Speak Now prior to Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) being released earlier this month. The song “Back To December” is famously about him, which his wife also commented on, saying it’s a “banger” along with other thoughts. 

Given it’s been over a decade since Lautner and Swift dated, and the Taylor Lautners are married now, it sounds like they have been able to cultivate a sweet friendship. All the Taylors even recreated the Spider-Man meme on the set of “I Can See You”. I know I love to see Swift and Lautner being ex-goals, and we absolutely cannot wait to learn about what upcoming Taylor Swift music and surprises are coming for Swifties next.

While many of her break up songs don’t make these guys look good, in the case of “Back to December,” the ex in question, Taylor Lautner, is written about in the best light. So, as the pop star announced and re-released Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) the Twilight actor and his wife, Taylor Lautner, opened up about the hit song about him, and Girl Tay is so real for her thoughts on the matter. 

As Girl Tay and Boy Tay (which is how they differentiate each other) spoke about Swift’s upcoming projects and Taylor Lautner’s involvement in her music video “I Can See You,” they got on the topic of “Back To December.” The song is famously about the singer and actors’ break-up, and it's essentially an apology from Swift to Lautner. While some partners might feel weird about their significant other being the subject of a break up song, Taylor Lautner has no problem with her husband’s T-Swift song as she explained on their podcast The Squeeze:

She went on to joke about how passionately she would sing the song as a child even though she had never experienced a break up like that before. Her lightheartedness about the topic is so sweet, and she clearly cares deeply for both her husband and Swift, as you can hear in the full episode of their podcast:

Taylor Lautner’s feelings about her husband being the subject of “Back To December” are pretty similar to how Sophie Turner felt “Mr. Perfectly Fine,” which a song Swift reportedly wrote about Joe Jonas. Both had a good sense of humor about the situation, and are all cool with their husbands' old relationships with Swift. Also, I love that they both acknowledged how amazing these songs are, because as Lautner put it, they’re bangers. 

The Lautners’ support of Swift and “Back To December” specifically came after they both attended the Eras Tour to premiere the music video “I Can See You.” The New Moon actor appeared in the project, and flipped onto the stage before gushing about his love for the “Cruel Summer” singer. The three Taylors re-created Spider-Man meme, and appeared to have a blast making this music video. Overall, there’s absolutely no “Bad Blood” between Taylor Swift and both Taylor Lautners. 

I think Girl Tay’s support of her husband and Swift is so admirable and relatable. In this situation, where your significant other used to date one of the biggest pop stars in the world, and she wrote a song about him, things can get awkward. However, she’s handled it with grace, appreciation and a good sense of humor, and I’m so here for it. 

Don’t get me wrong, it was a monumental moment when Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire recreated the legendary pointing meme for Spider-Man: No Way Home. However, for a Swiftie, it was likely a way bigger (and funnier) deal when Taylor Swift, Taylor Lautner and his wife Taylor Lautner did the iconic pointing pose. Let’s just say I didn’t have something like this on my 2023 bingo card, but I’m obsessed that these three hilariously reenacted the Spider-Man meme as a nice little nod to the fact that they share the same name. 

All three Taylors involved in the photo took to Instagram to post it right after the premiere of Swift’s video “I Can See You,” which the New Moon actor starred in. The “Anti-Hero” singer noted that the moment felt like “The Tale of 3 Taylors,” while the two Lautners posted about their excitement. Once you see the image, I’m sure you’ll be as enamored as I am with this cheeky moment between three folks with the same first name: 

It’s like seeing triple right? Not only is this photo iconic, the story behind the three Taylors coming together makes it even better. Taylor Lautner (the guy) famously dated Swift during the years she was making Speak Now. After they broke up the singer wrote a sweet song called “Back To December,” which is allegedly about him, and it was safe to assume there wasn't "Bad Blood" between them. 

So, when Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) was announced, people started asking both Lautners about Swift's upcoming projects. The Valentine’s Day star then went viral on TikTok for posting about “praying for John [Mayer]” (who is the likely subject of Swift’s more aggressive break-up songs), and he noted that fully supports Swift and her endeavors. 

Then, after all of that, things got even better when the “Speak Now” singer premiered the “I Can See You” music video at her show in Kansas City, and of all people, Taylor Lautner starred in it. 

Many fans caught this historic moment from the Eras Tour on video, and stacey.0403 posted it to TikTok. Both Swift and Lautner were very complimentary of each other on stage too. After the “Cruel Summer” singer noted that the Twilight star did all his own stunts in the video, she went on to talk about their friendship, saying:

Taylor Lautner has been killing the internet game recently, and his streak has continued with an A+ comment he left on Olivia Rodrigo’s post about her new single. As the pop star announced "Vampire," which is her first song since her hit album SOUR, the Twilight Saga alum took to Instagram to share his hilarious thought about the singer’s big news. 

“Vampire” marks the first song from Olivia Rodrigo in two years, and obviously it’s a very big deal. As many celebs took to the comments to show their love for the "good 4 u" singer's upcoming tune, some of the posts connected the song back to what many would consider an early 2000s classic: Twilight. Taylor Lautner has been known for his role in the Twilight series playing Jacob Black who fought for the heart of Bella Swan. With each movie, the fandom seemed to grow more and more, whether Twi-Hards would camp out for days before the final movie premiered or were responsible for sinking their teeth into ticket sales. But this young actor proves that fame isn’t everything, as Lautner admits that he used to have past "resentment" towards this fantasy-romance franchise.

This American actor was only 12 years old when he made his first big film splash in The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl as the superhero lead, and was only 16 years old when he introduced audiences to Jacob Black on the big screen. So, that basically means his whole childhood was spent being eye candy to many young fans mesmerized by him in feature-length goodness. While speaking on Sirius XM, Taylor Lautner admitted the “resentment” he used to have over The Twilight Saga, saying:

I can understand the initial resentment toward being part of the franchise. Taylor Lautner explained previously the downside to fame and anxiety he had while filming the Twilight series due to thousands of screaming fans waiting for him as he tried to have a normal life. He explained it was hard for him to go on a walk or even take a girl on a date without having 12 cars anticipate his next move. The Valentine's Day actor practically getting stalked by his biggest fans made him not even want to leave his house! 

Not to mention, Lautner was under a lot of pressure once he was almost fired after the first Twilight movie due to casting wanting someone older and with more muscle. This led to his “absolute nightmare” of a diet routine to stay in shape for the role by consuming a crazy number of calories. But then once The Twilight Saga was over, the attention for Lautner was able to die down which he said felt like “freedom” to him. Plus, I’m sure he was able to eat the calories he was comfortable with afterwards. With no commitments going forward to play Jacob Black anymore, this will leave room for Lautner to expand his acting range with roles outside of the shirtless teen wolf trope.

The Home Team star isn’t the only Twilight cast member who’s felt prior resentment over the franchise before. Robert Pattinson felt he was losing a sense of self playing Edward, as he explained that being part of a series based on a book meant Edward’s fate and actions were sealed with the events set in motion. But looking back on the series, Pattinson apparently has nice things to say about Twilight in the cool soundtrack and for its nostalgic purposes of the late ‘00s. It was also a struggle for Kristen Stewart to deal with canceling out “the noise” during the height of Twilight in not having a moment to herself with the paparazzi all over her. But when the Twilight series hit streaming a year ago, Stewart felt fortunate enough to be part of a franchise that was hitting a new generation of fans.

Up next, are the ex-boyfriends of Speak Now -- Taylor Lautner and John Mayer. However, the actor has explained that he feels like he’s in the clear, although, when it comes to John Mayer…he’s sending his prayers to Swift’s other ex through a viral TikTok. 

After commenting on the release of Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) on the Today Show, Taylor Lautner followed up his comments by posting a very funny TikTok to the tune “Dear John” (which is the breakup song about Mayer) proving once again why he’s Swift’s most unproblematic, and maybe fan-favorite, ex. 

This TikTok stemmed from a comment Lautner made on the Today Show when asked about Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), and the songs about her exes. Polietley (and hilariously) answering the question, the actor lightheartedly said:

With her last two re-releases, fans anger has been reignited toward the exes who inspired the breakup songs on Swift’s albums. However, when it comes to Taylor Lautner, he’s in the clear, I presume. “Back to December” does not paint the Breaking Dawn star in a bad light, in fact, it actually is a positive song about him, as Swift laments about her own actions that caused the split. 

So, as Taylor Lautner said: “#prayforjohn” as Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) gets closer to release, because I think it's safe to say the “Gravity” singer will be facing the Swifties this summer while the New Moon star continues to get love from Taylor Swift’s fanbase. 

It’s been over a decade since the final Twilight movie came out, and all these years later Taylor Lautner seems to be cherishing the simple things in life. He posted in his caption that he spent 45 minutes preparing this bath only to sweat five minutes after. Even a simple task like a bubble bath can make Lautner “hotter” than the average.

This former teen idol is no stranger when it comes to taking care of his body. After threats of almost being fired before New Moon to find an actor more “mature-looking” and buff, he made it his mission to get into shape for the role. Unfortunately, Lautner described this task of gaining 30 pounds as an “absolute nightmare.” The actor explained that he was obligated to consume 5,000 calories a day in order to gain muscle to play werewolf-morphing Jacob. Hopefully, he doesn't have to work out to this extent anymore, and it seems like this bath-related self-care routine is would also help alleviate the day-to-day stress. 

Other than seeing Taylor Lautner in bubbly goodness, I’m sure women today who grew up watching Twilight immediately thought of this actor when they heard a Twilight TV series is in the works. The Valentine’s Day star did mention that he wouldn’t say “no” to playing Jacob Black again, but would prefer to do a healthier regimen than what the role originally required. Can’t say I blame him on that front as Lautner has proven he’s currently in great shape without having to go to the extremes that he used to. However, I highly doubt we’ll be seeing this actor pining for Bella again as I’m sure new talent will fill in those iconic roles. While audiences were sparring as to whether the vampire or werewolf life was better for Bella, how did Taylor Lautner feel about the whole thing? 

Lautner is now a decade removed from starring in the Twilight saga. The actor recently got married to Taylor Dome, who is now legally Taylor Lautner as well. When the actor behind Jacob Black was recently asked if the Team Edward/Jacob aspect of the franchise ever got to him, here’s what he said on The Toast:

Even though it sounds like playing Jacob Black was no easy breezy walk in the woods for the actor, he has shared he wouldn’t say no to playing the Twilight role again. Although, another Twilight movie is not among the upcoming book adaptations coming our way, so the actor certainly won’t be thrust back into the Team Edward/Jacob discourse with the intensity of his own teen years anytime soon. 

It would seem that those Hollywood wedding bells are ringing once more, as a Twilight alum has officially tied the knot. Taylor Lautner and longtime girlfriend Taylor Dome are now man and wife. The two got engaged around this time last year, and it’s honestly hard to believe that time has passed so quickly. Reports indicate that the two had a beautiful ceremony but, of course, this union means one big thing – there are now officially two Taylor Lautners!

The newly wed couple jumped the broom this past Friday at Epoch Estate Wines, which isn’t far from Paso Robles, California. The internet broke at the news of their engagement, with the public and even celebs like Keke Palmer taking an interest in their shared name. Of course, Lautner will always be Jacob to many hardcore Twilight fans out there, and he recently said he wouldn’t be opposed to reprising his signature role sometime in the future.

I'm not the only one thinking about is, as Taylor Lautner commented on his thoughts on coming back to the role of Jacob Black if given the opportunity.

Since wrapping his role as the teenage werewolf in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2, where he imprinted on Bella Swan and Edward Cullen’s daughter Renesmee, Lautner was asked about his interest in having a reunion in Forks someday and continuing the character's story. Here’s what he said: 

In an interview with People, the actor, who is now 30, shared that he’d be open to portraying his famed Twilight character again because the role is so “good.” However, there is a caveat. If Lautner decided to go back to Jacob Black, he’d ditch the intense exercise regiment he underwent to be constantly shirtless and swoon worthy. As he continued: 

Between 2009’s New Moon and the end of the franchise, it sounds like Taylor Lautner had a really intense (and perhaps unhealthy) way to get all ripped for the Twi-hards. He’s since learned that he’s not necessarily up for the same lifestyle if he ever did another Twilight movie.

In one tweet, a user spoke about the Akeelah and the Bee star’s “24/7” energy as the reason why she’s booked and busy all the time followed by a hilarious Spongebob TikTok meme of his rhythmically energized “yada yada” self next to a bored Squidward. It's worth noting that the actress' latest film, Nope, did make $6.4 million on opening night, and she's been getting praise for her performance. So this could lead to even more gigs for the Hollywood vet:

Another person tweeted a hilarious response about addressing the two Taylors. It almost brings to mind the infamous Spider-Man pointing scene from No Way Home featuring the three Peter Parkers. Well, I’m sure if you yell out something like “Sharkboy,” there’s a good chance the actor Taylor Lautner will be the one to turn around: 

Keke Palmer clearly stans the Lautner couple, but someone questioned whether that's a good thing. Well, another Twitter response said, “I don’t think Keke has time for negativity," and cemented that with a meme of the True Jackson star moving to the rhythm:

Taylor Lautner met his bride-to-be after being introduced to her by his younger sister, Makena. The two Taylor Lautners definitely seem happy together, and it's clear that they have plenty of support (and questions) from the likes of Keke Palmer and others. Twilight actor Taylor Lautner revealed that he is engaged to be married this past fall. He'll be tying twith Taylor Dome, a registered nurse, who he had been dating for three years prior to getting down on one knee. As the happy couple are likely in the midst of wedding plans, Dome took to social media to “come clean” about who her childhood crush was, and it’s the opposite of Team Jacob, a fact that led Lautner to share a perfect response.

That’s right, Taylor Lautner’s wife-to-be is a Twilight fan, but she wasn’t rooting for his character Jacob prior to their meeting. As she shares in a funny Instagram post, she was crushing on Robert Pattinson’s Edward Cullen back in the day. Check out her video: 

Taylor Dome put a hilarious spin on a TikTok trend, where people show the fictional character they were crushing on as a kid and then reveal their person. Sometimes the trend shows the subject's partner looking just like their childhood crush but, in Dome’s case, she was Team Edward until her soon-to-be husband came into her life. What’s even funnier is the Jacob actor's comment on the video: 

In the Twilight saga, Taylor Lautner’s character was constantly shooting his shot with Bella, trying to steer her away from vampire life and into that of a werewolf. While he almost had her there in New Moon, his love for Bella ultimately went unrequited. However, in one of the creepier moments in the movie adaptations, Jacob ended up “imprinting” on Bella and Edward’s daughter, Renesmee, continuing his ties with the pair in an unexpected way. 

So when the star says “bout time” he’s won something, he's likely joking about the fact that after years of being second best to Robert Pattinson’s Edward in the film franchise, he won out in another love triangle and even better than that, gained some real love with Taylor Dome, which they're surely hoping will last a lifetime. 

The two met via the Twilight star’s younger sister, Makena Moore, who met Taylor Dome at a church in Nashville and “knew” she had to introduce the pair. Taylor Lautner and Dome proved to be the person they each wanted to settle down with because, in November 2021, Lautner popped the question to her. As the actor shared previously, Dome said he should propose in the kitchen, and he did. However, he went big with the proposal, surprising her with tons of flowers, candles and a sign that read “Lautner.” 

Following his stint as a part of the YA movie series, Taylor Lautner has kept his Hollywood career low key, and it sounds partially due to the overnight fame that left him “super anxious” to leave his house at one point. It’s great to see the actor happy in his personal life, getting ready to get married to a woman he can now say is firmly Team Jacob.

Can you believe that it's been 14 years since Twilight first debuted in theaters? The feverishly popular film adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's best-selling 2005 vampire-romance novel spawned one of the most popular and lucrative franchises of the past two decades, and many of the actors from this very popular movie have gone on to do many different projects, often thanks to Twilight's success. 

While you likely know what, say, Robert Pattinson or Kristen Stewart are doing nowadays, what about the rest of the cast? What has the Twilight ensemble been up to since The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 came out back in 2012? Let's explore what the main actors in this famous series of movies have done since their time in Twilight ended.

Kristen Stewart (Bella Swan)

The 17-year-old protagonist of Twilight who falls in love with Edward Cullen over the course of the franchise, Bella Swan, played by Kristen Stewart, was the center of the romantic story. Her relationship with Edward was the crux of the narrative, as well as the spewing battle between Edward and Jacob for her love. 

In the role that turned the actress into a worldwide superstar, Stewart allowed her fame and fortune from this series to propel her career in intriguing directions. Notably, Stewart has starred in dramas both big and small, including Clouds of Sils Maria, Personal Shopper, Certain Women, Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk, Equals, and Lizzie, as well as the period comedy Cafe Society and the stoner action-comedy, American Ultra. She’s also starred in films such as Charlie’s Angels, as well as the Hulu original Christmas film, Happiest Season. 

As of late, Stewart starred in the critically-acclaimed Spencer, where she played Princess Diana of Wales, and earned several award nominations and wins - including a nod for the Academy Award for Best Actress. In 2022, her latest film, Crimes of the Future, arrived in theaters. Coming up soon, she’ll be in a new A24 film titled, Love Lies Bleeding.

Robert Pattinson (Edward Cullen)

As a core member of the Olympic coven and the man who steals Bella Swan's heart, Edward Cullen, played by Robert Pattinson, was the male protagonist of The Twilight Saga. And it instantly turned the British actor into a megastar. Though Pattinson has an odd public relationship with the high-volume fandom for the franchise, it paved the way for his daring second-wave career. 

In the years since Twilight wrapped, Pattinson has proven himself in a number of exceptional, challenging performances. Notably, Pattinson has done excellent work in movies like The Rover, The Lost City of Z, Good Time, Damsel, High Life, and The Lighthouse, and he's also done good work in artistic projects like Cosmopolis, Life, The Childhood of a Leader, The King, and more. 

In 2021, Pattinson starred in Christopher Nolan’s Tenet, and made headlines with his performance as Bruce Wayne in The Batman in 2022, a superhero film that’s already getting a sequel. Pattinson is also set to star in another film soon called Mickey 7. 

Taylor Lautner (Jacob Black)

Over the course of The Twilight Saga, Jacob Black, played by Taylor Lautner, went from a good-natured local friend to an object of Bella Swan's loving affection as he and Edward Cullen fought for her heart in the sequels. In New Moon, he phases into a wolf for the first time and this is the start of his transformation as a shape-shifter werewolf. 

While prominent in the series, unlike Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, his fellow Twilight leads, Lautner hasn't found himself making as many audacious choices as an actor. He has appeared in shows like Scream Queens and Cuckoo. He also headlined the dramatic film, Run the Tide, as well as the action flick, Tracers, and he has provided supporting roles in Adam Sandler comedies like Grown Ups 2 and The Ridiculous Six. 

Most recently in 2022, he appeared in the Netflix original film, Home Team, alongside Kevin James. 

Billy Burke (Charlie Swan)

The Chief of Police in Forks, Washington, where the crux of the Twilight narrative takes place, and the father of Bella Swan, Charlie Swan, played by Billy Burke, is the looming parental figure throughout The Twilight Saga. 

As an actor, Burke has worked primarily in television since Twilight's finale. Notably, he's appeared in shows like Revolution, Chicago P.D., Zoo, Major Crimes, and FBI, among others. He was also in 2016's Light Outs. He had a voice role as Commissioner Gordon in Batman: The Long Halloween in both parts, and has had supporting recurring roles in shows such as Maid and 9-1-1: Lone Star. Coming up, he’s going to appear in a new TV series called Fire Country.

Peter Facinelli (Dr. Carlisle Cullen)

As the founder and leader of the Olympic coven and the adoptive father of Emmett, Alice, Edward, Jasper, Rosaline, and, later, Bella Swan, Dr. Carlisle Cullen, played by Peter Facinelli, serves as the head of the household. Since his days in The Twilight Saga, Facinelli has starred in TV shows like Nurse Jackie, American Odyssey, Supergirl, S.W.A.T., FBI, Magnum P.I., and Glee, and he appeared in films like Gangster Squad, The F**k-It List, The Ravine, Catch the Bullet, Countdown and more.

Outside of acting, Facinelli has also spent more time in the director's chair lately. He made his feature directorial debut with the 2018 comedy Breaking & Exiting. He also recently wrote and helmed the action-mystery thriller, Hour of Lead, which premiered earlier this year. Coming up soon, he’s going to be in the new films, Yesteryear, On Fire and many others. 

Elizabeth Reaser (Esme Cullen)

As the matriarch of the Olympic coven, the wife of Carlisle Cullen and the adoptive mother of Alice, Emmett, Edward, Rosalie, and Jasper, Esme Cullen, played by Elizabeth Reaser, played a substantive role in the Cullen family. 

An Emmy-nominated actress who constantly bounces between screens both big and small, Reaser has appeared in several different projects since her commitments to Twilight ended. Notably, she has appeared in Ryan Murphy’s series, Impeachment: American Crime Story, Law & Order True Crime, Mad Men, True Detective, The Haunting Of Hill House, Easy, The Handmaid's Tale, and the Bonnie & Clyde mini-series. Reaser also played the leading role in the surprisingly good prequel, Ouija: Origin of Evil, and she can be seen in Hello, My Name is Doris, which also starred Sally Field.

Coming up soon, she’s going to be in a new dark fantasy film, called Dark Harvest. 

Ashley Greene (Alice Cullen)

As a precognitive vampire who is known for being sweet and loving, Alice Cullen, played by Ashley Greene, played a dynamic part in The Twilight Saga. In the time since her commitments to the franchise ended, Greene has starred in a good handful of movies, including Bombshell, Kristy, Burying the Ex, Wish I Was Here, CBGB, Urge, Staten Island Summer, In Dubious Battle, Aftermath, One Shot and more.

She also lent her voice to the video game Batman: Arkham Knight, and she had a prominent role in the TV series Rogue.  Coming up, she’s going to star in several new films, including titles such as The Retirement Plan, The Gemini Lounge and more. 

Kellan Lutz (Emmett Cullen)

The husband of Rosalie Hale, the adoptive brother of Edward and the eventual brother-in-law of Bella, Emmet Cullen, played by Kellan Lutz, was a member of the Olympic coven. Since his time in Twilight, Lutz has primarily been seen in movies, including The Expendables 3, Tarzan, Extraction, Speed Kills, What Men Want, and the lead role in The Legend of Hercules. And he has also appeared on the small screen. For instance, Kellan Lutz starred in HBO's The Comeback and made a memorable appearance in the revival season. 

Lutz  has appeared on FBI and the spin-off series, FBI: Most Wanted. Soon, he’s going to star in a few new films such as Come Out Fighting, What Remains, and others.

Nikki Reed (Rosalie Hale)

The adopted sister of Edward Cullen and married to Emmett Cullen, Rosalie has been a vampire since the 1930s and is a member of the Olympic coven. Played by Nikki Reed, the actress/screenwriter previously best known for the 2003 autobiographical drama, Thirteen, which was directed by Catherine Hardwicke (who also helmed the first Twilight), has bounced between films and television since her time in the Twilight Saga came to a close.

On television, Nikki Reed was seen in Sleepy Hollow, Dollface, and V-Wars. Additionally, the actress starred in a few indie movies, including Empire State, Pawn, and Jack Goes Home, which she co-produced. Furthermore, Reed stepped in the director's chair for last year's short film, Andy's Song. 

In her personal life, Nikki Reed separated from her first husband, Paul McDonald, in 2014, and the divorce was finalized in 2015, and she got remarried to Ian Somerhalder that same year. The acting couple share a young daughter together, who was born in 2017, as Reed announced on her Instagram. She’s still very active on social media, and most recently even went onto former Twilight co-star, Ashley Greene’s, podcast, according to her Instagram post.

Jackson Rathbone (Jasper Hale)

As one of the few surviving vampires of the Southern vampire wars, Jasper Hale, played by Jackson Rathbone, later joined the Olympic coven and became the husband of Alice Cullen. Since his commitments to Twilight have ceased, Rathbone's most prominent work has been on the tube in a variety of shows that include Aim High, Finding Carter, White Collar, NTSF: SD: SUV, and The Last Ship. He’s also appeared in a variety of movies such as Mixtape, The Wall of Mexico and more. 

Coming up, Rathbone is going to star in a variety of movies, including Condor’s Nest, Zero Road, and Books & Drinks.

Anna Kendrick (Jessica Stanley)

As Bella Swan's high school best friend, Jessica Stanley, played by Anna Kendrick, plays a relatively minor role in the Twilight proceedings. But over the course of the franchise, Kendrick's career skyrocketed — to the point where she has become arguably as famous (if not more so) than some of her Twilight co-stars. 

Notably after garnering an Oscar nomination for her stellar performance in 2009's Up in the Air, Kendrick has been seen in a variety of movies both big and small. One of the most prominent was her lead role in the Pitch Perfect trilogy, though she has also starred in Into the Woods, Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, The Accountant, A Simple Favor, and Noelle. Kendrick can be heard in Trolls and it’s sequel,  Trolls World Tour. Kendrick also stepped into television for a little bit with a main role on the HBO Max original show, Love Life. Soon, she will appear in many new movies, such as Alice, Darling, The Dating Game and more. 

In 2016, Anna Kendrick became an author with her memoir, Scrappy Little Nobody. In the book, Kendrick noted that working on these movies (even in a minor capacity) gave her consistent work as the future A-lister continued to push herself into other films, some of which didn't pay her nearly as much. Though in a 2018 tweet, Anna Kendrick claimed (either cheekily or sincerely, it can be hard to tell with her) that she forgot she was in these films.

Out of all these stars, I’m sure that there’s something with them that you have seen in the last few years. And I know no matter what we are going to be seeing a heck of a lot more of them, whether that be in 2022 or beyond.  

In the first Twilight movie, Taylor Lautner had a pretty small, introductory part as the boy who had a crush on the film's protagonist Bella. His role would get bigger in the best-selling book series turned film franchise as part of the Edward-Bella-Jacob love triangle. But was there a possibility that Lautner would not have been the actor to carry that out for the rest of the series? One of his co-stars recently talked about the rumors that circulated about Taylor Lautner almost being fired from Twilight before New Moon was made.

There was a time when rumors swirled about whether Taylor Lautner would continue his role as Jacob in New Moon. Insider Ashley Greene, who played Edward’s foster sister Alice in the series, spoke on her podcast “The Twilight Effect” about the rumors regarding the Abduction actor’s future. 

In New Moon, Taylor Lautner’s character transitioned into a werewolf, and gained a ton of weight in muscle. Given his body heat would lead to a lot of shirtless scenes, Greene’s co-host Melanie Howe recalled the rumors the actor would be recast if he did not display the physical transformation the film was looking for. When it was announced in December 2008 that Chris Weitz would be taking over as director for New Moon, a press release announced the return of Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, but nothing about Taylor Lautner's fate. This would definitely add fuel to the fire over recasting speculations. 

MTV News also stated that One Tree Hill actor Michael Copon was considered to take over as werewolf Jacob Black as he would be more "mature-looking" and muscular. This only brought on more pressure for Taylor Lautner as Ashley Greene said he would eat and exercise a lot in order to gain the muscle that was expected for the role. Luckily, all of the work Lautner did panned out as it was confirmed the following month he would return for New Moon. This decision made a lot of sense considering Michael Copon was eight years older than Kirsten Stewart, yet Bella was supposed to be two years Jacob's senior. That’s the same age difference between Stewart and Lautner. This casting would stay true to the book series and be more believable on-screen compared to seeing an older actor pretending to be much younger.

Taylor Lautner also addressed the rumors during his interview with Collider in 2009 about how he knew about the character direction the series would take of Jacob Black in New Moon. He felt that while he had no control of what the media would say, he did have control of what he could do for himself to portray Jacob accurately. Lautner was also thankful that he had Chris Weitz there by his side through it all. 

Whether the rumors are true or not about Taylor Lautner possibly getting recast after Twilight, it doesn’t matter at this point as Lautner stuck around as Jacob Black for the entire run of the series. Clearly, the fans were looking forward to seeing a shirtless Lautner as New Moon became a financial success shattering the midnight screening box office record at the time of $24 million and was number two in the weekend box office. Twilight must have been a relief for Taylor Lautner or we would all still be calling him Sharkboy, wouldn’t we?

Based on the ending of The Batman, there is at one villain we can expect to see in director Matt Reeves’ follow-up to his smash hit DC reboot. However, there are a few other characters we also hope will appear alongside Robert Pattinson’s Caped Crusader at some point in this franchise, and one of them is Harvey Dent, who would also come to be known as Two-Face.

Instead of how Aaron Eckhart’s depiction was handled in The Dark Knight, I would like to see the next movie only explore Harvey’s days as Gotham City’s district attorney and save his tragic evolution into a murderous psycho at war with himself (and Batman) for a later sequel. It is going to take one hell of an actor to portray this good man’s descent into madness and we have a few candidates in mind, including one who has played a similar role before.

Adam Driver

Opinions regarding the more recent Star Wars movies vary, but one thing most agree on is Adam Driver’s performance as Kylo Ren - a Dark Side wannabe wrestling with an inner desire to use his Force sensitivity for good. From the opposite perspective, the arc feels a lot like how Harvey Dent struggles with his latent, menacing split personality before it is fully unlocked by his disfigurement, turning him into Two-Face. By channeling his Kylo Ren performance in reverse, the Academy Award nominee would be perfect for The Batman sequel.

Antony Starr

Someone who is also well-versed in playing two-faced individuals, as well as comic book characters, is Antony Starr - best known as Homelander in The Boys cast. The leader of The Seven is usually good at appearing heroic to the public, but is actually one of the most despicable characters on Amazon Prime’s hit show based on Garth Ennis’ truly graphic series. The New Zealand-born actor could make a great Two-Face by, once again, portraying this struggle to maintain a clean reputation, but with a more sympathetic angle.

Michael C. Hall

As the lead of the Dexter cast, seven-time Emmy nominee Michael C. Hall gave one of the most celebrated performances of his career as a homicidal two-faced individual. Of course, considering his moral code, I think most think of Dexter Morgan as more akin to Batman, but if the Dark Knight never honored his no-killing rule, that is. By playing Harvey Dent, Hall could revisit that duality he mastered on the hit Showtime series while also tapping into the more damaged psyche of an individual who is completely beyond saving. 

Jon Bernthal

Jon Bernthal has played two iconic comic book characters on TV and both give off some serious Two-Face vibes. The former Walking Dead cast member played Shane as the once trusted best friend of the main hero before grave circumstances brought out his true nature, and his vengeful and homicidal Frank Castle on Daredevil and The Punisher was once a kind, everyday individual before losing his family. We also know from both of those roles that he can play unbalanced very well and I’d like to see him lay that on a little thicker in a Batman movie.

Oliver Jackson-Cohen

I think it is clear that Oliver Jackson-Cohen could pull-off Two-Face from his roles in Mike Flanagan’s Netflix miniseries. We saw him wrestle with the demons (sometimes literally) that made him an outcast on The Haunting of Hill House and, on The Haunting of Bly Manor, his character was once a sophisticated and (seemingly) well-intentioned man before he was driven to murder by a violent act committed against him. Not to mention, the Londoner is, kind of, the spitting image of how I would picture Harvey Dent in a live-action setting.

Daniel Kaluuya

Did you ever notice how Daniel Kaluuya rarely plays a character who is not relatively calm and well put-together? For instance, throughout most of 2017’s Get Out, as Chris Washington, he keeps his composure brilliantly before shit really starts to hit the fan in Jordan Peele’s horror masterpiece, at which point he allows himself to let loose and rebel. I want to see the Academy Award winner play Harvey Dent in a similar way in future Batman movies: a cool, trustworthy everyman pushed to the brink of his sanity when he (or, more accurately, the left side of his face) falls prey to a cruel injustice.

Michael Shannon

Some iterations depict Harvey Dent and Bruce Wayne as old friends around the same age, such as on Batman: The Animated Series, but I am intrigued by the idea of making the DA older, more experienced, and privately disillusioned by what he has seen on the job - opening the door for his descent even wider. For this, I thought of Michael Shannon, who, surprisingly, received neither of his two Oscar nominations for his mesmerizing performance in 2010’s Take Shelter as a family man trying to keep his life together as he slowly loses his mind. I think seeing him play a Dent who struggles to internalize his maddening discontent would make for an amusing, unique take on Two-Face, which would be his second big DC role after General Zod, whom he is set to reprise in The Flash.

John David Washington

If Matt Reeves was to go with the angle that Harvey Dent and Bruce Wayne are old friends, I think he should cast someone who has already proven to have good chemistry with Robert Pattinson. For this, I thought of John David Washington, who previously teamed up with the Batman actor for a mission that exceeds the bounds of time in 2020’s Tenet, from Dark Knight Trilogy helmer Christopher Nolan. Additionally, I think that his portrayal of a charismatic justice seeker in 2018’s BlacKkKlansman would translate very well to a pre-Two-Face Dent, making his post-Two-Face transformation all the more shocking.

Taylor Lautner

If Matt Reeves, instead, reimagined Harvey Dent and Bruce Wayne as rivals, similar to how Christian Bale and Aaron Eckhart played them in The Dark Knight, I think he should cast someone who knows what it’s like to be at odds with the Batman actor. I am talking about the Jacob to his Edward from the Twilight cast, Taylor Lautner, who has not been given the chance to really show his worth as a performer beyond his career-making role as a werewolf in the blockbuster franchise based on the YA novel series. I would be curious to see his take on Two-Face and to see if it could put him on a new career trajectory like Pattinson’s post-Twilight years.

There are so many great storytelling opportunities in the character of Harvey Dent. Maybe we will see one of the actors above portray the best depiction of the tragic DC villain yet in one of Matt Reeves' next Batman movies.

Upon the release of his movie, Home Team, and with the announcement that he was engaged to be married, Taylor Lautner would start to become a bigger topic in the public eye than he had in some time, actually. The aforementioned Netflix original sports comedy was actually his first major acting role in years, despite breaking out big time with the Twilight cast, as Jacob Black, when he was a teenager.

Well, I think it's time to see the now 30-year-old former teen heartthrob make a splash on the big screen again, especially with his co-star (and onscreen romantic rival) Robert Pattinson reaching the height of his powers in the title role of The Batman. What better way for Lautner to catch up to him than starring in his own superhero movie, but to really stir up the competition with a role in new Marvel movies? I figured I would help him out by giving him a few ideas for Marvel characters he would be ideal to portray, starting with one he has kind of already done his homework for.

Warwolf

Admittedly, when I was first looking at lycanthropic Marvel characters for Taylor Lautner to play to reflect his Twilight character’s special abilities, I initially settled on Jack “Werewolf By Night” Russell. That was, until I was reminded that Gael Garcia Bernal is reportedly playing him in an upcoming Disney+ exclusive Halloween special. Luckily, upon further exploration, I found another character who is not only a perfect fit, but sounds way more badass.

Vic Marcus is a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent who also goes by the alias Warwolf, due to his Mars-affected lycanthropy that allows him to “get hairy” at will. He also led an iteration of the Howling Commandos unit that consists of supernatural creatures, such as a vampire, a mummy, a zombie, and a clone of Frankenstein’s Monster. Well, that movie that needs to be made some day, and not just to see Lautner play a werewolf again in what would be a very unique and thrilling way.

Red Wolf

One day, I would also like to see Marvel movies introduce the lesser-known character, Red Wolf. Reason being that I love the idea of seeing an old fashioned Western tale in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and also to see more Native American representation in the franchise.

Now, to be clear, the fact that this character’s name is Red Wolf and that his trusted companion is also a genuine red wolf named Lobo has nothing to do with why I suggested Taylor Lautner to play him (although it is an interesting coincidence). I chose this character as potential role for the actor because he is part Native American, namely of Potawatomi and Ottawan descent, which he actually learned when preparing for his role in Twilight.

Hercules

Another way that Taylor Lautner prepared to play Jacob was working on his abs, which you could argue became a bigger claim to fame for him than the Twilight movies themselves. Of course, bulking up certainly comes in handy when playing Marvel characters, too, and there is one such role that his physique could makes him a perfect match for.

Like Thor and other mythological figures, Hercules is also a part of the Marvel Comics Universe, having made his debut appearance in 1965 as written by Stan Lee and illustrated by Jack Kirby. I actually think it would be fun to see Zeus’ half-mortal, muscle-bound son get his own movie in the MCU, if not make a fun cameo in a future Thor movie, for instance. If not, I hear Disney is working on a live-action remake of their animated Hercules movie from 1997.

Namor The Sub-mariner

If Taylor Lautner does wind up in the MCU, it would not actually be his superhero movies debut, which he made in 2005’s The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl, as the toothy, semi-aquatic young hero. However, he did not reprise the role for Robert Rodriguez’s Netflix exclusive sequel, We Can Be Heroes, which left some of his biggest fans a bit disappointed. Well, I have the perfect way he can make up for it.

With Jason Momoa kicking ass as Aquaman, fans have been waiting to see Kevin Feige and co. bring in Marvel Comics’ own Atlantean who actually predates the DC hero by a few years, Namor. The Sub-mariner’s official debut has been teased for years, but no avail just yet. When it does happen, I think Lautner should be considered, not just for playing a similar part in a 3-D kids movie, but for really looking the part, too.

Legion

A lesser-known credit from Taylor Lautner’s career - likely in part because he starred in it the same year that the first Twilight movie came out - is My Own Worst Enemy. This short-lived NBC drama, in which Lautner starred as the teenage son of a man with a dangerous dissociative identity disorder played by Christian Slater, gave me an idea. Why not take an opportunity to see things from his TV dad’s perspective by playing a Marvel character who also suffers from DID, like David Haller? 

This Omega-level mutant has around 200 personalities cohabitating his mind, each possessing their own distinct, Omega-level powers, as well. Also known as Legion, he was the inspiration for a surreal, hit FX series of the same name that was canon to the X-Men movies, which could also be MCU canon now based on recent a Doctor Strange 2 teaser’s reveal. If they ever do decide to recast the character, though, giving it to Lautner, based on his experience with My Own Worst Enemy, sounds like a fun idea to me.

Human Torch

A potentially more fun role to play, however, just might be Johnny Storm - otherwise known as the Human Torch for his ability to spontaneous create fire, as well as fly. He gained these powers as a result of a freak accident that also gave his sister, Susan, the power of invisibility; her husband, Reed Richards, super-stretch abilities; and made his friend, Ben Grimm, a rock-skin behemoth. Together, they used these powers as a source for good as the Fantastic Four, who are about to be brought to the big screen for a third franchise attempt.

The upcoming reboot from the Spider-Man “Home Trilogy” director Jon Watts has yet to cast any members of Marvel’s first superhero family, but I think Lautner would be a good choice for Johnny. He is young, lively, and has exercised the comedic talents that would come in handy for the role in films like Valentine’s Day and Home Team, and shows like Scream Queens and the BBC’s Cuckoo. 

The deciding factor of all of this, of course, is whether or not Taylor Lautner really wants to return to the spotlight in a dominant blockbuster franchise. If so, the Marvel movies are not a bad way to do it.

The 2011 Academy Award-winning film, Slumdog Millionaire, brought together its two stars, Freida Pinto and Dev Patel, after they starred in the film together. In an interview with The Guardian in 2015, Patel talked about his past relationship with Pinto, and how close they were during their time together.

Natalie Portman And Benjamin Millepied (Black Swan)

While filming her Academy Award-winning movie, Black Swan, Natalie Portman met Benjamin Millepied, who is a famous choreographer and co-starred with her. Two began dating and married not that long after in 2012. 

In an interview with People, Natalie gushed about her husband and how much she loved working with him again on a new film, called Vox Lux in 2018.

Matthew Broderick And Jennifer Grey (Ferris Bueller’s Day Off)

While they may have played siblings in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Matthew Broderick and Jennifer Grey were actually entangled in a relationship during their time on set. Jennifer Grey spoke about her relationship with the actor in her memoir, Out of the Corner, and how it was hard to keep it a secret from everyone else. 

Once filming ended, according to the memoir, they separated temporarily before getting back together, and dated in 1988. They were also briefly engaged but called it off not that long after. 

Johnny Depp And Winona Ryder (Edward Scissorhands)

While they originally met in the lobby of a New York theater in 1989, according to Rolling Stone (via Cheat Sheet), Johnny Depp and Winona Ryder’s relationship only grew more after co-starring in Edward Scissorhands in 1990, so much so that Depp proposed to Ryder only five months into dating. 

However, in an interview with the Los Angeles Times in 1993, Depp confirmed they had split up due to the privacy the media wouldn’t let them have.

Both Claire Danes and Hugh Dancy met on the set of Evening, according to an interview Dancy did with London Evening Standard in 2013, saying that marriage to the star, as well as fatherhood, is treating him “very well.”

This long-lasting partnership started way back when in 1966. After the Twilight hype died down, though, Lautner’s time in the spotlight seemed to dissipate more so than his co-stars, both Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson moving on to other significant films and having enviable careers. 

In the same interview, Taylor Lautner explains the relief he felt once he was out of the media’s gaze and was able to go to the grocery store without the anxiety that he had previously felt when leaving his house. He explained that it was liberating no longer having to worry about attracting a lot of attention, saying:

Even though Taylor Lautner talks about relief of no longer feeling anxious about the media hounding him when he went out, there was a downside too. This coming week will mark the 10th anniversary of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1's release. The Twilight film was especially notable because it allowed fans to see Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson’s Bella and Edward get married ahead of their eternity together as vampires. OK, even if that seemingly random question did not pass your mind before, I would be willing to bet that the thought of Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson in the Marvel movies is living rent free in your imagination now that I have introduced the idea, huh? Well, why don’t we have a little fun with this and see which superheroes (or supervillains) from Marvel Comics would be a good fit for the following 10 members of the Twilight cast, starting with our central heroine.

Kristen Stewart - Dead Girl

As Bella Swan, Kristen Stewart finally got to see things from the perspective of a vampire in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 (the fifth installment of the franchise), but has yet to see things from the perspective of the ghostly apparitions that haunted her in both the 2007 supernatural thriller The Messengers and Personal Shopper in 2017. To give her that chance, I would cast her as the aptly named “Dead Girl,” who joined the X-Force after her murder activated latent powers such as immortality, regrowing severed limbs, and communicating with the deceased.

Robert Pattinson - Wolverine

With Marvel Studios preparing to reboot the X-Men movies, everyone is curious who will take over for Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. I think anyone who has paid attention to the gruff, action star reputation that Robert Pattinson has developed (most notably with 2017’s Good Time) since his curtain call as Edward Cullen can see why he could be a great fit for the Adamantium-clawed, cigar-chomping, Canadian mutant. Plus, the English star of Matt Reeves’ upcoming The Batman would certainly not be the first to exist in both DC movies and Marvel movies at the same time.

Taylor Lautner - Namor The Sub-Mariner

Many were disappointed that Taylor Lautner did not appear in Netflix’s We Can Be Heroes to reprise the role that made him a promising child star before playing the lycanthropic Jacob Black in Twilight made him a sex symbol: Sharkboy from The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl in 3-D from 2004. The best possible way that he could make up for this absence is to bring another aquatic superhero to the big screen for the very first time: Namor, a Marvel Comics Atlantean who actually predates DC’s Aquaman by a few years.

Ashley Greene - Jean Grey

Someone who has shared the screen with Marvel stars (such as Sebastian Stan in The Apparition) but has never played a superhero (not counting when she voiced Barbara Gordon in the animated Batman: Gotham Knight) is Ashley Greene. The actress would finally be able to bridge that gap in a live-action setting if she was cast as one of the most popular X-Men characters, Jean Grey - known for having psychic powers, similar to her character in the Twilight movies, Alice Cullen.

Jackson Rathbone - Hydro-Man

Alice Cullen’s husband, Jasper Cullen, is played in the Twilight movies by Jackson Rathbone, whose other best known role is Sokka in The Last Airbender from 2010. Considering how poorly received director M. Night Shyamalan’s live-action adaptation of the popular animated series was, I would say that we should give the actor another chance to bring a character with water-based powers to play on the big screen, such as the Spider-Man villain Hydro-Man.

Kellan Lutz - Sentry

You could argue Twilight’s Kellan Lutz has already played a Marvel character since the publisher did give Hercules his own comic book and Lutz played Zeus’ son in 2014’s The Legend of Hercules. However, that movie is not considered a career highlight for him, but some Marvel fans do believe the muscle-bound Emmett Cullen actor would make a great Sentry: a former meth addict who gained the power of a million exploding suns after ingesting a special serum.

Peter Facinelli - Purple Man

The patriarch of the Cullen Clan, Dr. Carlisle Cullen, is played by Peter Facinelli, who actually has played a comic book character before: Maxwell Lord on the Arrow-verse’s Supergirl series. Many comic book readers cite the Marvel equivalent of this power-hungry DC villain (whom Pedro Pascal played in Wonder Woman 1984) as Zebediah Kilgrave, who never became his aptly named alter ego Purple Man when David Tennant portrayed him on Jessica Jones. I’m not sure that otherwise acclaimed Netflix series is MCU still canon anyway and I bet Facinelli would not say no to giving Kilgrave a proper, purple portrayal.

Elizabeth Reaser - Invisible Woman

The matriarch of the Cullen Clan, Esme Cullen, is played by Elizabeth Reaser, who has played the motherly figure role many times (mostly in her collaborations with Mike Flanagan), but never as strongly as her Twilight movies character. A Marvel character widely noted as a strong motherly figure is Susan Richards (née Storm), also known as the force field-generating Invisible Woman when fighting with the Fantastic Four. All Reaser would need to better assume the role is some blonde hair dye.

Nikki Reed - Lilith Drake

The only member of the Twilight cast who later returned to the world of vampires is Nikki Reed, who would join the cast of the short-lived Netflix original series V Wars - which also starred her husband Ian Somerhalder of The Vampire Diaries fame. Well, it sounds to me like the actress really enjoys sharing the screen with bloodsuckers, playing a bloodsucker on screen, or living with one in real life, so maybe she would feel right at home if she was cast in a Marvel movie (Mahershala Ali’s Blade reboot, perhaps?) as Dracula’s own daughter, Lilith Drake.

Anna Kendrick - Lady Deadpool

Fans have been pulling for Anna Kendrick (who played Bella’s friend Jessica Stanley in Twilight) to join the MCU as Squirrel Girl for years, but it might be just a little late for the actress to play a chipper, unbeatable superhero commonly depicted as a teenager. In fact, with her sharp wit, previous action movie experience, and the recent introduction of the Marvel multiverse, I think casting her as Lady Deadpool (a female, alternate reality counterpart to Ryan Reynolds’ “Merc with a Mouth”) would be an absolutely dynamite choice.

With how many veterans of the Twilight cast have already gone onto star in superhero movies, it may only a matter of time before all of time make their comic book character debuts. Let’s wait and see if any of our suggestions make the cut.

There are two breeds of Twilight fans, and no, I’m not talking about Team Edward vs. Team Jacob. You either fell in love with Stephenie Meyer’s novels first or found the series through the movies starring Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. No matter the avenue in which you found your way to Edward and Bella, it probably changed the way you look at the franchise in one way or another. So, why don’t we compare notes and talk about the major differences between the Twilight movies and the bestselling books they are based on?

The last of Stephenie Meyer’s four-part saga was released just a few months before Twilight hit the big screen and became a cultural phenomenon back in 2008. As the Hollywood movies found their massive audience, the Twilight saga continued to become bigger with each new installment. And nearly a decade after the ending of the franchise , we’re still talking about what Twilight's main stars are doing now, rewatching the films on spare weekends and reading more Twilight such as with the release of 2020’s Midnight Sun. Let’s talk about how the source material and movie adaptations are different:

How Bella Tells Edward She Knows He’s A Vampire

One especially iconic scene in the first Twilight movie is when Edward and Bella stand in the forest together as Bella Swan puts two and two together concerning her crush’s true identity. Edward Cullen famously belts out “Say it out loud!” as she stands in front of him and responds with “vampire!” Sure, that’s cinematic and all, but it did not happen that way in the Twilight book.

Originally, Bella tells Edward her findings about him while she is in his car on the way back to Forks from Port Angeles. The revelation occurs after Edward comes to her rescue to pull her off the group of strangers who crowd her in the city, and were apparently thinking some uncouth thoughts about Bella. When it comes to this difference, I think fans appreciate seeing two distinct versions of Edward and Bella’s big turning point.

Bella And Charlie Were Not Diner Regulars In The Books

Bella Swan’s relationship with her father Charlie is a complex and interesting one in both the books and movies, but when it was adapted to screen, one key change was made to their dynamic. In Meyer’s books, Bella and Charlie don’t spend much of their time in a diner downing berry cobbler as the movies portray.

In the books, Bella is something of a cook and she makes the meals at home for Charlie. This may seem like a minor thing but the Twilight movies would not have been the same if Kristen Stewart’s character was always in the kitchen serving her dad another recipe. It shows a different vision for the teen that Meyer had, which was certainly more traditional.

There Was No ‘Cullen Crest’ In The Twilight Books

Starting in the first Twilight movie, it’s established that the Cullen family wear their own Cullen Crest around their necks. The symbol involves a roaring lion standing over three clovers and an open hand above its head. In the movies, the Cullens are often seen sporting the Cullen Crest, but it’s a completely new concept created for the movies.

My guess is the Cullen Crest was created by the costume department to create some uniform to the vampire family’s looks and their loyalty to each other. And honestly, it was also likely added to sell movie-themed merchandise as well.

The Book Cover In Twilight Is Not Directly Referenced In The Original Text

As you may recall from the first Twilight movie, there’s a scene early on when Bella drops an apple in the cafeteria and Edward bounces it off his foot and into his hands exactly how the picture on the front of the original book cover looks. It’s a clever reference to the cover, but it does not reflect a scene in the novel.

When it comes to the reason behind Stephenie Meyer having two hands holding an apple on the cover of the bestseller in the first place, it is more symbolic. Per the author’s website, the apple represents the “forbidden fruit” from Genesis because she loved the phrase “the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil.” As Meyer explained, that phrase is exactly what Bella ends up with Edward. She also said she finds the cover’s apple to represent “choice.”

The ‘Spider Monkey’ Movie Line Was Picked Last Minute

There’s a lot of quotes from the Twilight movies that are surprisingly funny, but the one that takes the cake the most is when Edward said “You better hold on tight, spider monkey” before taking Bella on a gorgeous jaunt through the skies of Forks. No, this was not part of the book.

As Catherine Hardwicke told MTV back in 2009, one night while they were shooting the movie she realized Edward and Bella needed a line whilst climbing that tree so it wasn’t simply another scene of them “looking into each other’s eyes.” Hardwicke wrote down a list of options for the actors to pick from, and Pattinson decided upon the spider monkey one. Honestly, that’s way better than some of the options like “prepare for liftoff” or “you’re not scared of heights, are you?”

Victoria Only Shows Up To Bella’s Prom In The Movie

At the end of the first Twilight movie, fans got a fun tease for the second movie when Victoria is seen watching Edward and Bella while they are at prom. At the time, the couple thinks danger is pretty much behind them, but Victoria’s secret appearance at the high school event helps signal more trouble on the way after Victoria’s lover James was killed by the Cullen Clan.

While the scene is actually a really great way to set up New Moon, it was not canon in the first book. Victoria does not show up to the prom, however you could argue that she might have since it is told from Bella’s point of view.

How Edward Proposes To Bella Differs 

And New Moon ends with its own great cliffhanger when Edward finally agrees to turn Bella into a vampire only if she will marry him!! The scene is preceded by a more formal proposal from Edward in Eclipse when they are talking in their bedroom about waiting for marriage before having sex. In the movie sequence, Edward offers Bella his mother’s ring and tells her he promises to love her “every moment, forever.”

In the books however, Edward proposes to Bella for the first time at the end of New Moon after the Cullens vote on her becoming a vampire as a unit. When he does so, Bella actually thinks Edward is joking about it at first.

Jacob Black Is A Lot Taller In The Books

In the The Twilight Saga: New Moon, Taylor Lautner comes in with his glowing tan that won the hearts of Team Jacob fans after he’s introduced in the original movie as the unassuming boy next door. In the books, Jacob Black is described a bit differently than Lautner’s portrayal. The actor is 5’10, standing five inches taller than Kristen Stewart’s Bella and a few inches shorter than Robert Pattinson’s Edward. In the books however, Jacob is much taller. Much… much taller.

In fact, he’s the tallest character in the Twilight series, standing at about 6’7. If the movies had stayed true to the source material, it would have been a very different view when scenes of the werewolf are shown, especially between the first and second movie, since that is when he has a nearly foot growth spurt. Perhaps when Lautner was considered to be recast, height was a factor!

Bella’s Friends Are Barely Around In The Movies

Now, Bella Swan isn’t exactly the best role model for how one should balance their high school life. Girlie spends so much time with her boyfriend, she’s ready to die for him. But the movies make her seem more like a loner type than she was actually written as by Stephenie Meyer. In both the books and movies, Bella is seen on multiple occasions with a friend group consisting of Jessica, Angela, Mike and Eric and while she does share some scenes with them throughout the movies, she mostly avoids spending time with them. The actress behind Jessica, Anna Kendrick, recently spoke to feeling like a "bystander" to the franchise, and we're not surprised given the small role.

Bella’s human friends are more important to the books and overall storyline. Although Edward is still at the top of her mind, she does have some interesting arcs with each of these characters that the movie chooses to gloss over. But to be fair, there’s a lot of storylines the movies had to juggle and cutting the human characters’ screen time certainly makes sense.

We Never Get To See Alice Cullen’s Backstory In The Movies

Throughout the four Twilight books, fans are introduced to a lot of lore regarding the Cullen family, including how each member of the family came to become a vampire and then “vegetarian” after meeting its founder Carlisle Cullen. In The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, the movies even go into a number of flashback sequences most memorably through scenes featuring Rosalie Cullen and Jasper Cullen, but the movies fail to go into depth about Alice Cullen.

Alice is one of the most important vampires in the entire Twilight series and she was pretty short-changed by the movies failing to take time to get through her origins, romance with Jasper and how her precognitive ability really works. If only the Twilight Saga could have been a TV show!

In The Books, Bella Makes Some College Plans

Another issue book fans may find with the movies is how the Twilight Saga films decide to cut out a subplot involving Bella Swan making plans to attend college. In the books, Edward Cullen is very supportive of his human girlfriend attending university and Eclipse starts with Bella getting accepted into the University of Alaska and Edward additionally encouraging her to apply for Ivy League school Dartmouth, which he got into.

And in the book for Breaking Dawn, Bella decides to attend the university for a year after getting married (despite thinking it's a little pointless) and remain human, that is until she gets pregnant with Renesmee and she has to be turned into a vampire prematurely.

There’s More To Edward Cullen’s Early Vampire Years

Although the initial saga in both the books and movies are told from Bella Swan’s perspective, Edward Cullen is still a huge character to the series and as far as the movies go, there’s just not enough of his backstory and character development told that fans read in the books. For example, the movies do a bit of glossing over in regards to Cullen’s early days as a vampire.

Edward Cullen had a rebellious period in the ‘20s where he became somewhat of a vigilante and used his mind reading to take down the worst people around. The movie for Eclipse does bring this to the viewer’s attention, but there’s a lot more to his early days before Bella that informs his character that we just don’t get to see play out in the movies. Again, this was likely left out due to time constraints.

Changes Were Made To The Vampire Covens

Later in the Twilight movies, the movie franchise explores the myriad of vampire covens from all over the world who end up being part of the larger storyline. In the books the covens that are mentioned are the Denalis, Amazons, Romanians, Irish and Egyptians, in addition to the Cullen’s Olympic coven.

In the movies, the filmmakers decided to also add a French coven and a nomadic Japanese vampire named Toshiro. Some of the specific vampire characters from the international covens in the books also are not in the movies.

Jacob Imprinting On Renesmee Isn’t As Creepy In the Books

When Breaking Dawn Part 2 came out, there was a ton of backlash regarding Jacob Black imprinting on Bella’s daughter Renesmee and rightfully so! The movies do not explain the whole “imprinting” situation with care.

To book fans, it made more sense because the books had spent time developing what it means to imprint on someone over time in a way that was more sweet and endearing to the books concluding than anything else. But to fans who were not given that explanation, Jacob seeing a long life with Renesmee starting with her as a baby just came off weird. It’s an odd concept to begin with, and it just didn’t translate well on the big screen. Not to mention the decision to make that strange CGI baby.

The Breaking Dawn Finale Battle Was Added To Part 2

Lastly, although there’s definitely more major differences, the most noticeable change between the books and movies comes in the final act of it all. In The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 there was a massive sequence added to the last movie that is not even in the corresponding book.

The battle scene shocked fans because the battle we see in the movie doesn't even happen in Stephenie Meyer's novel. We think all these horrible things are actually happening and then we learn that it’s one of Alice’s most horrible visions. While it was underwhelming for many and strayed away from the books, it did a good job of delivering the unexpected and a major action moment to end the series on.

Now that we’ve talked out the major difference between the books and movies, you can decide for yourself if you have a favorite path to experience Bella and Edward’s love story. This past week, the number one album across the U.S. has been 18-year-old Olivia Rodrigo’s debut record Sour. The album follows the High School Musical: The Musical: The Series star’s viral success these past few months, namely with her huge hit “drivers license.” But did you know that Rodrigo is a huge Twilight fan too? The singer and actress once shared a song she had made about Edward and Bella when she had writer’s block. Since releasing Sour, it sounds like she’s been channeling Team Jacob much more.

Many of the lyrics for Sour revolve around a breakup that involved Olivia Rodrigo’s ex moving on fast and leaving her in the dust. The sad situation inspired some great jams like “good 4 u,” “deja vu” and, of course, “drivers license.” But when it comes to that Twilight song some of her fans were hoping for, here’s what she said on Twitter:

During a fan Q&A, a fan asked if there was a song that Twilight’s core couple might enjoy. Given the themes in the record, she couldn’t pick one out for the vampire couple, but she did pick “traitor” for Jacob Black. And if you give it a listen, it could definitely pass off as a tune about the werewolf’s perspective. Check it out:

I mean, come on, it starts with “brown guilty eyes.” If that’s not Jacob Black, what is? If you flip some of the pronouns, it’s the perfect theme song for Taylor Lautner’s character once Bella runs back to Edward Cullen at the end of New Moon. As you’ll remember, Bella goes through a terrible breakup in the second installment and leans on Jacob for most of the storyline. She even learns of Jacob’s secret clan who protect her from Laurent and Victoria’s return.

Bella and Jacob weren’t exactly an item when Edward came back into town, but the characters were definitely getting closer when Bella brushes it all off and returns to her vampire boyfriend. Jacob is also a pretty “sour” character in general, so Olivia Rodrigo is spot on. I’m sure someday we’ll be treated to a more tender record with the likeness of Edward and Bella, but with Sour we get pure angst.

Yeah, this checks out too. The downbeat song is all about Olivia trying hard to be enough for her S.O, which would also be perfect for Bella during her New Moon breakup. And as far as Edward Cullen goes, a fan jumped in with a great pick. Of all the angst on Sour, “brutal” is the angstiest, so of course it has to go to Edward Cullen. The vampire would totally head bump to the lyrics “I’m so sick of seventeen,” since you know... he has been that age for like a hundred years.

Oh yes, 2009. It was the year Team Edward vs. Team Jacob became all the rage on the big screen. Over Thanksgiving weekend of that year, fans of Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight books and films were choosing their side of the battle and puff painting it on T-shirts as they awaited midnight premieres. How long has it been since you’ve revisited The Twilight Saga: New Moon? Whether you’d like a red hot dose of nostalgia or a good laugh, New Moon is a great pick to return to. Really, Bella? Your Biggest Concern Is Getting Super Old At 18?

New Moon opens with a dream sequence Kristen Stewart’s Bella Swan has where she sees herself as an old woman with a still young and dashing Edward Cullen in the meadow they like to spend time together in. And throughout the movie, Bella is totally freaked out that she is going to be too old for Edward if she does not turn into a vampire like now. I don’t know about you, but if I’m going to be frozen in time, I would not have chosen my high school years. Wait a few years Bells, you’ll only glow up as the years go by! And, don’t you have other things to worry about, like I don’t know finals? College?

Edward, Throwing Bella Across The Room Made Her Party So. Much. Worse.

Now let’s talk about the dramatic birthday party sequence at the Cullens’ house! When the movie came out, fans were obviously enamored with Kristen Stewart’s forest green dress. Yes, looking back, New Moon really went there with the theatrics but did Edward really need to push Bella across the room and against the wall in that moment? All she had was a paper cut, but after Edward’s protective nudge she had blood all over her and it made it a lot worse. As I’ve realized, New Moon is really not Edward’s movie.

Why Did Edward Cullen Have To Break Up With Bella Like That?

Now if Edward Cullen was really a teenage boy, I would not have this gripe with New Moon, because they don’t have the best rep with handling breakups, but Bella’s BF is over 100 years old. Really dude? During New Moon, Robert Pattinson’s character decides to call it quits with Bella in order to protect her from danger but he does not handle it with love and care. He doesn’t even let her down easy, he straight up says that she’s never going to see him again and he doesn’t want to be with her. Bella has said she wants to be with him forever and that’s how you do it? You know she can't handle the truth! At least he could have used some workshopping with Alice first using her precognitive abilities.

Why Do Bella’s Family And Friends Ignore Her Signs Of Depression?

New Moon is all fun and games until you realize how deeply depressed Bella is throughout the film. Once Edward walks out, the teenager spends months cropped up in her house, sitting alone in school and having some horrifying dreams at night. Charlie doesn’t know how to deal with it and insists she moves back to Jacksonville and her so-called high school friends don’t even engage with her at school following the breakup. Obviously, you have to want to help yourself before others can, but still… there’s quite a bit of blatantly concerning behavior in New Moon that likely would not have been made today without some added commentary on the importance of mental health. Uhh… she jumped off a cliff!

Why Did The Cullens Leave Bella Unprotected In Forks?

Also, can we talk about how Edward Cullen left Bella to keep her safe, but ends up placing her in more danger by doing so? I’m talking about Laurent and Victoria, who were still clearly keeping tabs on Edward and Bella following the events of the first Twilight film and show up later on in New Moon for their revenge. It’s pretty messed up and if it were not for Jacob Black and his wolf pack Bella would have died as a result of the Cullens’ leaving. Edward saw this coming, he could have hunted down Victoria before leaving at least? No wonder Team Jacob prevailed during New Moon, because again, Edward lost his head in this one.

How Come Bella Doesn’t Figure Out The Werewolf Secret?

Ok, so I know Bella is super heartbroken in New Moon, but in the process we lost our Virgo research queen in the sequel? In the second act of the movie, the focus of the story moves to Jacob Black’s transformation into a werewolf and all the changes that go with it. Bella is left clueless until she incites a fight with other members of the wolf pack, but I don’t understand how she didn’t figure it out before then. Back in the first Twilight movie, Jacob literally tells Bella about the legend of the Cullens deriving from vampires and his ancestors being wolves. So, why didn’t she put two and two together? Breakups are rough… I guess?

How Is Bella So Sure About Edward?

I think my feelings by the end of New Moon really cements the conversation at the heart of the second Twilight movie. Are Bella and Edward really right for each other and how can she be so sure? By the end of the first movie, we’re smitten with the pair, but man does New Moon shake things up. In the film’s epic finale, the Cullens decide that they will in fact turn Bella into a vampire after she graduates. Edward is not keen on the idea, but he does decide to compromise if she is willing to marry him.

New Moon definitely gives us a good look at how sad Edward and Bella are apart from each other, and the bit about Bella visiting Volturi and her finding out she has shield powers does cement her ties to becoming a vampire. But Twilight fans, can we agree the movie does the best job of getting the audience to understand why Bella’s decision is a good one? That was handled a bit better in Stephenie Meyer’s book.

New Moon discourse aside, rewatching the 2009 flick is a whole lot of fun! All the nonsensical things about it make it an engaging watch, and it’s a good time to return to this world with some added perspective of over a decade. Robert Rodriguez has one of the most intriguing filmmaker careers one can have. While the writer/director is best known for his more bloody affairs like Sin City, Machete and From Dusk Till Dawn, for an entire generation who grew up in the early ‘00s with his family-friendly movies. The Spy Kids trilogy of course left a mark, because how can one forget thumb-thumbs? Another memorable one is 2005’s The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl starring a 13-year-old Taylor Lautner before his Twilight werewolf days.

Rodriguez surprised fans this morning with an espresso shot of nostalgia with the reveal of Sharkboy and Lavagirl all grown up for his upcoming movie We Can Be Heroes. The Netflix movie will have the filmmaker returning to family movies as a group of kids band together to save their parents from aliens. Among the parents is Sharkboy and Lavagirl. Yep. Take a look:

Well this is awesome. Taylor Dooley looks great back in her Lavagirl suit and bright pink hair for We Can Be Heroes. The production value looks incredible and as Robert Rodriguez reveals, the pair have a kid together named Guppy. You can briefly see their daughter, played by Vivien Lyra Blair, who was Girl in Bird Box. But there’s a massive shark in the room, not not the one on the right… where the heck is Taylor Lautner?

Next to Taylor Dooley’s Lavagirl is a Sharkboy rocking the new and improved suit, but this time donning a fin mask over his head. It’s clearly not Taylor Lautner, but instead stunt actor JJ Dashnaw. The reveal bothered fans right away, creating a conversation so massive that Taylor Lautner’s name has been trending all day. Check out one response:

Following Taylor Lautner’s early work as Sharkboy and in Cheaper by the Dozen 2, the actor of course moved to a number of years in the spotlight as the Team Jacob side of the Twilight hype. Following his fame, the actor has not followed in the footsteps of his counterpart Robert Pattinson, who has gone on to receive critical acclaim for movies like Good Time and soon become The Batman for DC. In the near decade since the actor’s leave from Jacob Black, he’s had a total of six roles with The Ridiculous 6 and Scream Queens being among his credits. He’s surely missed on We Can Be Heroes as you can see:

Imagine the power We Can Be Heroes with both Taylors back in their suits? Sadly, Lautner is not a part of the project for an unknown reason. The movie does have a massive cast including The Mandalorian’s Pedro Pascal, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Christian Slater and Haley Reinhart. And it’s unclear how prominent Sharkboy and Lavagirl will be to the movie. But it’s the principle of it all.

The awesome reveal was taken away in a sense because the reaction was so focused on who was not there. The internet showed some contempt toward the 28-year-old actor who either decided not to, didn’t have time to or was not asked to join this reunion. It is a bummer, but fans are really roasting Lautner now on Twitter:
