Since the early '60s, Pop-Tarts have been the go-to breakfast dish for anybody needing a quick meal before heading out the door. I guess it was only a matter of time before a movie was made, though who would've thought it would come decades later from Jerry Seinfeld? The iconic comedian directed Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story, which will eventually become available to anyone with a Netflix subscription, and in addition to being a part of it, he's also brought on some famous stars.

The cast list for Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story is unbelievably stacked. A look down this list will show a who's who in comedy and get readers excited for this upcoming movie. Let's dive in and talk about some of the big names who will take part in this comedy movie. Full disclosure, we don't know the roles any of these actors and actresses are playing, but seeing them all together has me very excited about this project.

Jerry Seinfeld

Comedian Jerry Seinfeld will star in Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story, which highlights the competition between Post and Kellogg's to produce a breakfast pastry in the early 1960s. Defunded on Roku Channel!

Reno 911! has long been one of the most endlessly watchable TV shows, thanks largely to its brilliant cast and its jump-around episode formats. Its latest season, subtitled Defunded to truly make its stamp as a free-for-everyone Roku Original series, continues that hilarity-infused trend once again with full-length episodes following its lone comeback season on Quibi, even as it tackles largely sensitive topics regarding policing and race relations. (The episode “Jonesteenth” is truly something to behold.) Reno 911! Is also known for its stellar guest stars, and the new season’s second episode features an all-star in Jamie Lee Curtis.

CinemaBlend spoke with some of Reno 911! Defunded’s stars — Kerri Kenney-Silver, Robert Ben Garant, and Thomas Lennon — about the newest episodes, and I had to ask about the group’s experience working with Hollywood legend Jamie Lee Curtis. Her “Bad Lieutenant Woman” introduction as Lt. Donna Fitzgibbons stood completely at odds the Halloween franchise’s Laurie Strode, and in the most glorious of ways. For instance, one scene features Kenney-Silver’s Trudy Weigel sharing with Fitzgibbons that she’s always trying to get others around her to get turned on by her butthole. So it only made sense to ask the Reno 911! Defunded star about bringing her butthole up with Curtis. In her words:

Okay, I don't know what sort of Zoom awards they give, but you just got one for Best Question. Maybe in my entire career. How did I prepare to talk about my butthole with Jamie Lee Curtis? Well, I did not know that was gonna happen. That's the beauty of improv. We did not know what was gonna happen. She came to us to ask to come and play with us, and be on the show. And she came up with this idea for the character and so we just kind of went with it. So I guess what happens, I guess my years of saying inappropriate things - everything, saying the wrong thing, always at the wrong time, in my life - paid off at that moment. When she lobs at you, you go back with butthole. I went big, and it paid off.

As great and wonderful as fully scripted and plotted-out television can be, it doesn’t provide the in-the-moment pleasures and treasures that improv provides. Of the many excellent improvised comedy series out there, arguably only HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm and its “genius” creator Larry David are the same hallowed ground as Reno 911! and its cast. (Maybe you’ll make it in a few years, Will Arnett’s Murderville.) But now it seems like Jamie Lee Curtis, who recently wrapped filming for Halloween Ends, deserves her own project in this realm. And I don't think anyone would cause a fuss if Kerri Kenney-Silver was her co-star.

Thomas Lennon called out that particular scene beneath the squadroom table as a standout moment, saying:

You guys clicked right away. You guys had a very excellent scene. You just went under the desk and started, like, hugging each other in a criss-cross applesauce scene. It was very strange.

To be sure, even though I mainly only mentioned Trudy's butthole mention above, the entire conversation between the deputy and Jamie Lee Curtis' new addition was completely bonkers from beginning to end. Both in terms of the wacky stream-of-consciousness dialogue as well as the physical comedy on display, with Curtis having zero issues putting her wowzers figure to work in short-shorts and a half-buttoned uniform shirt. Not to mention that non sequitur of an eyepatch.

To that end, Robert Ben Garant revealed that not only did Jamie Lee Curtis reach out about being in the show, but she was also the one who pitched her character and those aforementioned costume details. (And also brought snacks to the cast and crew like a true champion.) Here's how he put it:

She was fantastic. She was also really nervous. Like, we were shooting in this big, giant abandoned police station, and when she came in the room and saw all of us there in our morning briefing, she came up. The first thing she said, 'Well, this isn't intimidating,' was the very first thing that she said. And she was great. She brought enough muffins and cookies for the entire crew. . . . She was great. She was really funny. She told us in advance she wanted to be from another department, and she wanted to have shorts like Tom and an eyepatch. That was all we discussed, and then she just came and bossed us around for two hours. It was really fun.

If only there was a way every minute of that footage would be available to viewers at some point. Perhaps Roku Channel will introduce such special features like that going forward. Or perhaps we'll just have to make do with the magic that already exists.

Check out the trailer for Reno 911! The following contains spoilers for the Supergirl episode "Mxy In The Middle." Read at your own risk!

Supergirl brought back fan-favorite Mr. Mxyzptlk, or Mxy, in its latest episode as Kara made a last-ditch attempt to try and thwart Nyxly before she did further damage to National City. Mxy arrived on the scene, and fans learned that he and Nyxly had a complicated history, and the end of the episode left Mxy's fate very much in question.

After a song that detailed their storied history, Mxy went about trying to thwart Nyxly, and it came at a great cost. Nyxly trapped Mxy in a crystal, but not before he was able to slap a power dampener on her wrist. Mxy vanished, and it wasn't entirely clear to even the Supergirl characters whether he was gone or merely trapped inside the crystal. Thomas Lennon spoke to The Wrap about Mxy's moment in the episode and admitted he's not quite sure what happened after the crystal incident.

I swear, it seems like I’m being cagey. But I actually don’t know what happens next in the storyline.

If Thomas Lennon isn't aware of what happened to Mxy, and genuinely isn't being cagey, then fans will have to rely on Supergirl's final episodes for the answer. The season has wrapped, and Lennon referred to the appearance as his "swan song", so that would presumably mean that's the last we'll see of him and that he truly doesn't know whether his character's survival was ensured one way or another. In the episode, Nia suggested it's possible Mxy was merely trapped from within the crystal, which could give hope to Supergirl fans that he made it through.

The truth of the matter is, though, even if Mxy survived, Supergirl is headed to an end. Thomas Lennon's version could still re-appear elsewhere in another show in the Arrowverse for sure, though one would imagine that his escape from the crystal in Supergirl would need to be explained. Then again, it's not like the Arrowverse has an absolutely stellar record of explaining continuity changes across its multiple shows, so it may not be that big of a hurdle for another show to figure out should they want Lennon in their world as Mxy.

If Supergirl will be the final appearance of Thomas Lennon's Mxy, at least it ended in a tale of redemption for the mischievous DC character who has had an up and down history with Supergirl in the series. That's a decent ending, but also a shame given how goofy and fun he made the portrayal. Unfortunately, this wouldn't be the first time the Arrowverse has lost a treasured actor. There will be others gained, and sadly, probably more lost in the years to come.

Up next: 2021 Fall TV Premiere Date Schedule: All The New And Returning TV Shows

Supergirl airs on The CW Tuesdays at 9:00 p.m. ET.
In 2021, Tom Holland got in touch with his darker side thanks to his starring role in Apple TV+'s Cherry. Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo in their follow-up to Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame, this moody adaptation of Nico Walker's buzzy semi-autobiographical novel centers around an opioid-addicted, PTSD-stricken army veteran who robs banks to support himself. Certainly, this R-rated movie is a stark departure from what we've seen from both this plucky actor and these MCU mainstay directors, trading their flashy superhero gear for something grittier and closer to reality.

Cherry already made its limited theatrical rollout prior to its Apple TV+ debut. Now that it's available on the streaming platform, let's highlight the acting ensemble of this passion project.
There was a time, before he redefined the comic book movie, the war-era period piece, and, pretty much, the sci-fi genre in general, when Christopher Nolan destroyed the rules of film noir and rewrote them from scratch. He did so with a thriller starring Guy Pearce as a man struggling to overcome horrific short-term memory loss in order to find his wife’s murderer. For just about every member of the Memento cast, the extraordinarily clever, turn-of-the-century indie darling was not really a big break, but one of the brightest highlights in each of their careers.

As I mentioned before, Guy Pearce’s character in this sleeper hit from 2000 does not have the most reliable memory, typically lasting a good five minutes before anything that happens to him within that time it is completely wiped away. To put you in his shoes, Christopher Nolan and Jonathan Nolan’s Oscar-nominated screenplay for Memento (based on the latter brother’s short story) brilliantly tells the story in reverse so that you always know only what he knows.

What sounds like a tedious process on paper is widely considered one the most engrossing brainteasers ever put to celluloid, leading many cinephiles to dedicate colossal amounts of time to gaining a deeper understanding of what it all means. Well, at this point the only mystery I am interested in getting to the bottom of is what the cast of Memento has been up to lately. Let’s breakdown the careers of this criminally entertaining crime thriller’s most memorable performers, starting with one whose character can’t remember a damn thing.

Guy Pearce (Leonard Shelby)

This Emmy-winning Australian broke out on popular soaps Neighbours and Home and Away (like many from down under) before landing films like 1994’s The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert and L.A.

Tiger King is the Netflix docu-series that seemingly has everybody talking nowadays, and Late Show host Stephen Colbert jumped on the hype train while recording an episode from home. Colbert managed to land Joe Exotic himself for an exclusive interview! That is, viewers not familiar with Thomas Lennon may have thought Colbert landed the Tiger King star live from prison at first, since the Reno 911 star delivered a surprisingly spot-on impression. Take a look at Lennon going full Exotic for The Late Show:

Kudos to Thomas Lennon, because even though I knew Stephen Colbert hadn't gotten the real Joe Exotic on a video call from prison, I believed it for a moment. Lennon nailed the impression, and didn't even break into his own regular speaking voice until the very end, when he was called upon to sing his new song song as Joe Exotic, which was of course called "A Liger Ate My Shoes."

Even Late Show viewers who haven't had the chance (or inclination) to check out Tiger King on Netflix just yet likely could enjoy Thomas Lennon's impression for its sheer ridiculousness. Those who have already watched some or all of Tiger King had more to appreciate, especially with Lennon's line about to "ask Carole Baskin" if anybody wants to know about people being eaten. That line was naturally in reference to all the people (ranging from a Florida sheriff to O.J. Simpson) speculating that Carole Baskin of the Tiger King documentary fed her first husband to tigers.

Stephen Colbert seemed to be enjoying Thomas Lennon as Joe Exotic, although he didn't crack up. Still, he was smiling an awful lot for a late night host who has to worry about producing episodes from home and recently came off a Daniel Radcliffe interview that, though hilarious, was plagued with technical difficulties. If Lennon could make him want to laugh despite everything, then good for Lennon!

Personally, my favorite part of the video wasn't the line about Carole Baskin, the look on Stephen Colbert's face, or even the little bit of "A Liger Ate My Shoes" before the video ended, but rather this line from Thomas Lennon as Joe Exotic after Colbert asked if he felt he was accurately portrayed by the Tiger King filmmakers:

But let me tell you this. That is just a bunch of colonel's 12-piece bucket of deep fried baloney bites, okay? I am actually a very down-to-earth, pistol-packing, double husband-having, mullet man with a lot of joie de vivre and a love of America's cigarettes.

If there's a world where "pistol-packed, double husband-having, mullet man" isn't funny, I for one do not want to live there! Honestly, the best part about that particular line to me is that it's not actually all that outlandish. Joe Exotic in Tiger King did indeed pack a pistol, had two husbands, and happily paraded around in a mullet.

Up next: Joe Exotic Netflix Documentary: 6 Insane Takeaways From Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem, And Madness

If you haven't caught Tiger King just yet and have nothing better to do with TV shows beginning to enter early hiatuses, you can find all seven episodes streaming on Netflix now, among many other options from our 2020 Netflix premiere schedule.
A new Reno 911! project is finally coming to the screen, but not as the long-rumored movie that once seemed to be the only way for the crazy crew of cops to return. A Reno 911! revival is coming to TV for a new platform that promises the show won't release the same way it did back in its earlier days on Comedy Central. Still, the show should be more than a little familiar to fans, as original cast members are on board! Here's what we know.

Upcoming short form streaming platform Quibi, which has a great deal of potential despite not earning a spot as a key player in the streaming war, has ordered a seventh season of Reno 911! Returning for the revival are Thomas Lennon, Kerri Kenney-Silver, and Robert Ben Garant, who co-created and starred in the series the first time around. All three will both write and star in the Quibi season of Reno 911!, and Thomas Lennon dropped some fun shoutouts to the series in his comments about the revival:

RENO 911! holds a special place in our hearts, and it will be a delight to get the original cast back together for 're-boot goofin.’ Hopefully Nick Swardson can still roller skate. Quibi’s short format seems custom made for our show.

Well, now that Thomas Lennon has brought up Nick Swardson and roller skates, I for one will be devastated if Dangle and Co. don't have to deal with roller-skating prostitute Terry again in the revival season! I'd say that I'd be devastated too if Dangle isn't rocking some boots for goofin' around Reno, but there's no way the new season would leave out his boots, right? Nothing goes better with short shorts for crime-fighting than boots.

In all seriousness, the Reno 911! revival marks the second partnership between Quibi and Comedy Central Productions, so the revival is likely in as good of hands as possible for something that should delight longtime fans. Thomas Lennon of course played Dangle on Reno 911!, with Kerri Kenney-Silver as the unfortunate Trudy and Robert Ben Garant as good old Travis Junior.

Who else will appearin the revival? Well, additional casting will be announced at a later date, so it's possible that more original cast members will sign on. Niecy Nash's Claws will wrap on TNT in 2020, and Carlos Alazraqui has primarily worked on voice projects in recent years, including Family Guy. More complicated could be Wendi McLendon-Covey and Cedric Yarbrough.

Wendi McLendon-Covey currently stars in The Goldbergs on ABC, and Cedric Yarbrough was promoted to series regular status at CBS' freshman hit Carol's Second Act. If Carol's Second Act, starring sitcom legend Patricia Heaton, scores a second season, Yarbrough may be too busy playing a nurse on the sitcom to reprise his role as a cop.

Still, a Quibi series' demands are undoubtedly different than those of a major broadcast network, so there's no need to give up hope for a full original cast reunion at this point. We may as well also hope for an appearance from Danny Devito, whose production company Jersey Television is executive producing the series.

While he did technically appear in the Reno 911! universe already in the Reno 911!: Miami feature film, I can't imagine anybody would object if he turned up playing a different character back in Reno. It's Danny DeVito!

There is no premiere date listed for Reno 911! Season 7 just yet, and Quibi itself doesn't launch until April 6, 2020. Fortunately, there are plenty of new and returning shows hitting the airwaves in the not-too-distant future, and you can find them on our 2020 winter and spring TV premiere schedule and 2020 Netflix premiere guide.

While most of that mayhem is of the stunt variety, it appears the show's stars can sometimes do legitimate damage while filming. Tonight's episode of Lethal Weapon introduced the strangely amusing Leo Gatz, as played by the never-not-hilarious Thomas Lennon, and when CinemaBlend's Laura Hurley spoke with the comic actor about the role, Lennon shared one particularly silly (and probably expensive) situation that came up due to his lack of experience with a stick shift.

The stunt crew had me out driving this like vintage Porsche and like racing down Forest Lawn Boulevard, and I was burning out the clutch so bad that in a later scene in the show, my stunt double pulled up with the Porsche and there was smoke coming out of the clutch. And I said, 'Oh my God!' I was like, 'You're ruining the clutch of the car! I know, it was really hard for me too!' And then he explained to me, he said, 'No, no, this is a joke. You were driving the Porsche so badly that the special effects crew put a smoke bomb in the car so that it would make sense when you pull up at the last scene and the clutch has been destroyed.' It was a really fun time, I will say.

Boom! While Thomas Lennon might not have put a bunch of bullet holes into city landmarks or crashed a helicopter into anything, he certainly destroyed the clutch on that Porsche. Which definitely isn't the same as, like, messing up the clutch on a Pinto. In fact, damaging a Porsche is probably a bigger affront than totaling two Pintos into each other. Maybe not, but it's something for Leo Getz to somehow pull off during his next visit to Lethal Weapon.

Let's give some major props to that stunt crew, too, for having the wherewithal to play a simple and funny joke on the Odd Couple actor for his lack of finesse with the Porsche. I wonder if anyone would have let Lennon know if he hadn't unwittingly played right into it.

A character that was originally portrayed in the films by Joe Pesci, Leo Getz's entry into Fox's Lethal Weapon immediately made him seem like the kind of person who would drive around in a super pricey car without knowing the ins and the outs of not messing it up. So long as it got Getz to the next ambulance-filled scene, amirite? There were some kids driving a Porsche in an earlier Lethal Weapon episode that had a better handle on things. I think we can all agree, though, that Thomas Lennon destroyed that performance, too, and in the best way possible. Which in this case means "with that classic 'stache."

Thomas Lennon told us how his take on the role was different from what Joe Pesci did, and he said the original version is "in the Valhalla of amazing movie performances." It turns out that aspect, rather than the chance to run around a city watching things explode (not by accident), is what drew him to taking the part. In Lennon's words:

Part of the reason I took the job, I was like, 'Well that sounds like a real challenge to try to come up with something at all funny and interesting for a Leo Getz that's not that Leo Getz.' I mostly just tried to tap into myself and relax and try to crack up Clayne and Damon. Which I did a fair amount, so it felt like it was working out.

A quick peek on Twitter shows that lots of people agree the actor put in a clutch performance, pun fully intended. Lethal Weapon, a show that put together a pre-premiere promo involving a digital projection of a car crashing through the side of a building in Times Square, airs Wednesday nights on Fox at 8:00 p.m. ET. (That stunt did less damage than Thomas Lennon, for the record.) Check out what the actor told CinemaBlend about a potential Reno 911 film sequel and then head over to our midseason premiere schedule to see what will plow through your TVs in the near future.

Reboots and revivals are all the rage on the small screen in recent years, and CBS brought a classic sitcom back with The Odd Couple in 2015. The new version of The Odd Couple had a recipe for success: CBS is the biggest network when it comes to comedy, the premise has been a hit for decades, and the two leading men know how to bring the laughs. Unfortunately, the numbers for the series just didn't deliver in Season 3. Star Thomas Lennon recently spoke with CinemaBlend about the odds of an Odd Couple cancellation, saying this:

Everyone keeps telling me, 'No, no, it's entirely possible! It's entirely possible!' Which makes me think, 'Oh, boy, that doesn't seem very likely.' This year we were on very late, which is 9:30, and I don't feel like we're really a 9:30 kind of show. I'm sure they would have liked the numbers to have been better, and I would have liked the numbers to have been better. The Odd Couple could come back; no one would be more surprised than me, I would say. I would be pretty surprised. I would be pleasantly surprised and quite surprised.

Thomas Lennon doesn't seem too optimistic about the chances of The Odd Couple scoring a renewal for Season 4, which isn't too huge of a surprise. CBS originally ordered a third season of 13 episodes with the possibility of a bump up to 22 episodes. Sadly, the first 13 episodes didn't do what the network hoped, and CBS chose not to extend the Season 3 order. We haven't gotten official word of a cancellation, but we pretty clearly shouldn't get our hopes up that there's a future for The Odd Couple on CBS.

That said, Thomas Lennon sounds perfectly willing to continue work on The Odd Couple if it does somehow get renewed for Season 4, and CBS Entertainment president Glenn Gellar recently commented that the show "definitely can come back" for another batch of episodes. If CBS does give The Odd Couple another shot, and if both Thomas Lennon and Matthew Perry stick around to bring the funny as Felix and Oscar, there could be a future for the series. Personally, I wouldn't put any money on an Odd Couple Season 4, but stranger things have happened, and the ratings weren't absolutely terrible.

The Odd Couple actually delivered decent numbers during Season 3, with episodes averaging 4.99 million viewers each. 4.99 million isn't anything groundbreaking for a big network like CBS, but it's still a healthy audience for a half hour once a week. The bigger problem may be the ratings in the 18 - 49 demographic. The Odd Couple has been pretty inconsistent in that key demo over the past couple of seasons, and it ranks as CBS' lowest-rated sitcom. Reasonably steady viewership may not be enough to warrant a renewal when the ratings variable is taken into consideration.

The numbers likely suffered from the scheduling shuffle throughout its second season. The Odd Couple switched between airing on Thursdays at 8:30 p.m. ET and Mondays at 9:30 p.m. ET throughout Season 2. Ratings dropped, and they never recovered in Season 3, even when The Odd Couple settled into its regular slot on Mondays at 9:30.

Stay tuned to CinemaBlend for the latest news on renewals and cancellations. We can't say for sure at this point if we'll ever get to see Thomas Lennon back on the small screen as Felix Unger, but you can catch him on Lethal Weapon tonight at 8 p.m. ET on Fox as none other than Leo Getz.
Fox premiered one of the most ambitious new series in the fall of 2016 with Lethal Weapon, and it would deliver a brand new take on legendary characters from one of the greatest action movie franchises of all time. We're well into the first season at this point, and we've seen that Damon Wayans and Clayne Crawford have made the roles of Murtaugh and Riggs their own. Thomas Lennon is set to make his Lethal Weapon debut as none other than Leo Getz in tonight's episode, and he spoke with CinemaBlend about how his version of the character is different from Joe Pesci's in the movies, saying this:

Matt [Miller] the showrunner called me. Before I said I would do it, we talked on the phone for a little while, and I said, 'You know, I can't do a Joe Pesci impersonation. I don't even seem in any way like a Joe Pesci type of person in my mind. Other than that I'm kind of little and bizarre.' And he said, 'That's not a problem. No one on the show is trying to be the people from the movies. It's all completely reimagined.' And I was like, 'If you're open to the idea of a bizarre weirdo that's just not at all like the one from the movies, I will totally try to be as bizarre for you as I can.' That's always a trick, because Joe Pesci's performance is insane and so amazing and highly quotable.

Joe Pesci played Leo Getz in Lethal Weapon 2, 3, and 4, and he's undoubtedly the most iconic actor of the film franchise after Danny Glover and Mel Gibson, so it would have been easy for any actor who tackled Leo on TV to just try and copy Pesci's work. Given that Thomas Lennon wasn't looking to recreate Pesci for the new version of the character, any fans expecting a Joe Pesci 2.0 performance may be in for a surprise when Lennon makes his Lethal Weapon debut. Instead of copying Pesci, he'll bring his own version of Leo to TV to interact with Damon Wayans' version of Murtaugh and Clayne Crawford's version of Riggs.

That said, Thomas Lennon was under a great deal of pressure to do justice to the character of Leo. Lethal Weapon movie fans have been hoping for and/or dreading the introduction of a new Leo, and Lennon was already making headlines for Lethal Weapon before he even began filming. He went on in his interview with CinemaBlend to explain that he did his best to make the TV Leo as funny and interesting as possible without stepping on Joe Pesci's work. All things considered, we should be in for a fun new take on an existing character.

While we haven't seen the episode yet, Thomas Lennon did give an idea of the sort of character his version of Leo will be. While filming a key scene with Damon Wayans and Clayne Crawford on set, Lennon dropped a cheeky joke, and it's not one that we can imagine coming from Joe Pesci:

My favorite line that I said to [Clayne] in the show was the first time they meet me and they try to shake me down, I looked straight at him - it was like the ninth take of the scene - and I said, 'Nice mustache.' Which I thought was great but did not make the final cut of the show. But it did crack him up pretty hard.

I can't speak for Clayne Crawford, but I know I cracked up at the joke. Crawford is distinctly disheveled as Riggs, and the only things that are consistent about his look are the messy hair and mustache. Thomas Lennon is well-known on the TV circuit for rocking a mustache as Jim Dangle on Reno 911, and it's only fitting that facial hair banter went down on the set of Lethal Weapon while Lennon was around.

Although it's unfortunate that the line didn't make it to the final cut of the film, at least Reno 911! fans can get a kick out of seeing Thomas Lennon back in the epic mustache on the small screen. He did tease the possibility of another Reno 911 movie during our Lethal Weapon chat, so we may see him back in the 'stache and shorts as Dangle. In the meantime, however, we can only hope that he makes his way back to Lethal Weapon and give us more Leo in the future of the series. One episode almost certainly won't be enough.

You can catch Thomas Lennon as Leo Getz on Lethal Weapon at 8 p.m. ET on Fox, and don't forget to take a look at our midseason TV premiere schedule.

Just because a TV series ends or is cancelled doesn't mean that's the end of the adventures for those characters. In recent years, TV revivals have become increasingly more common, like The X-Files on Fox or Fuller House on Netflix. Then there's the occasional instance where a show is brought back as a theatrical movie, like what Sex and the City and Entourage did (in the former's case, twice). And then there are those rare instances where a TV show gets a movie in the middle of its run. Reno 911! took that approach in 2007 with Reno 911!: Miami, but according to Thomas Lennon, a.k.a. Lt. Jim Dangle and the show's co-creator, another movie might be on the way all these years after the series' conclusion, and there's already an idea in the works.

Our own Laura Hurley recently spoke with Thomas Lennon about his TV work on CBS's The Odd Couple and Fox's Lethal Weapon, but during the interview, the actor mentioned how the current idea being bounced around for a new Reno 911! movie would address changing perspectives towards the police. Lennon explained:

[Robert Ben Garant] and I have just started talking very seriously about the idea of another Reno movie that sort of deals with like the world of the police now and things like that. We hadn't really talked about it for years because we've just been doing other stuff, we were writing movies here and there. About six weeks ago we genuinely had an idea. We do live in a world where no matter what we do separately or together, the main question people always ask is 'When are you gonna do a Reno thing?' We have a major thought right now for a Reno movie that we're kicking back and forth.

Even though a new Reno 911! movie isn't guaranteed at this point, it sounds like Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant, Lennon's fellow co-creator who played Deputy Travis Junior, are giving serious thought on how to return to this world of inept cops. Presumably the idea Lennon alluded to refers to how police brutality has become a bigger issue in recent years. If that's the direction they're aiming for, it will be interesting to see how they find humor in such a widespread problem.

Originally running from 2003-2009, Reno 911! parodied the Cops TV show by following a group of idiot police officers patrolling Reno, Nevada, and much of the material was improvised during shooting. Reno 911!: Miami saw the main characters dealing with a terrorist attack at a police convention in Florida. After airing six seasons, Comedy Central cancelled the series, and although there had been talk of bringing Reno 911! to Netflix, nothing ever surfaced from that.

If Thomas Lennon, Robert Ben Garant and the rest of the creative minds are able to get a new Reno 911! movie off the ground, we'll be sure to let you know.

Despite having the same title as a popular film franchise--perhaps even the greatest film franchise--and featuring characters with the same names as the film franchise, Fox's Lethal Weapon has so far been differentiating itself from the films with a different sort of bromance and some sillier case-of-the-week antics. However, recently Fox revealed that Lethal Weapon will be nodding at the movies by bringing in Leo Getz, a character originated by Joe Pesci in Lethal Weapon 2 and reprised in Lethal Weapon 3 and 4. The new TV version of the character will be played by none other than Thomas Lennon.

While we usually get announcements like these quite a bit in advance, today's report indicates that Leo Getz will be popping up in Fox's Lethal Weapon, and soon. Thomas Lennon will take over the role on February 15, in an episode that will feature the lawyer character meeting with Riggs and Murtaugh as part of the story that week. EW reports that so far Thomas Lennon is only signed on for a guest role---meaning he's only set to appear in one episode of the Fox series so far. Presumably, if the character goes over well, Lethal Weapon could bring the ambulance chasing lawyer back in the future.

Of course, that's a long way off. First and foremost, Thomas Lennon currently has his own series on TV right now, the comedy The Odd Couple, which is in the third season on CBS. That show isn't on the best footing right now, as about a month ago the Eye Network ultimately decided not to add to The Odd Couple's episode order, so that the comedy will only be producing 13 new episodes this year. This doesn't necessarily mean the comedy, which also stars Matthew Perry, is cancelled, but it doesn't bode well for its future, either. If Lennon doesn't have The Odd Couple to worry about, he could potentially show up on Lethal Weapon more down the line, as well.

Although Fox gave the show additional episodes, Lethal Weapon only has a chunk of episodes left during Season 1, which means Fox will be looking to make a decision about the future of the series, probably this spring. The ratings have been pretty steady for the series, averaging well above a 1.7 rating, although recent episodes have been closer to a 1.4. We're guessing the series will be back for another round, but as ratings traditionally fall as the season wears on, we'll have to wait and see how the series fares this spring.

The real question is how Lethal Weapon will fare if it starts bringing in a steady stream of memorable characters from the movies. So far, the show has done enough to differentiate itself from the film franchise that sometimes I even forget the two lead characters are takes on the personalities played by Mel Gibson and Danny Glover on the big screen. I actually like that Lethal Weapon has been offering us something different. Hopefully, it won't need to rely on more casting gimmicks down the line. You can catch Lethal Weapon on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on Fox.
While many TV remakes in recent years were quick to prove themselves not worth the effort, some fared far better, such as the latest iteration of The Odd Couple, which is currently in the middle of its third season on CBS. But the show's cast, which includes Matthew Perry and Thomas Lennon, got some bad news today from the network, which has decided not to move forward in ordering a full 22-episode season for The Odd Couple. There's no reason to head to the TV graveyard just yet, but this isn't the most positive sign.

The seventh episode of The Odd Couple just aired last night, which means fans will get to watch six more episodes from Season 3 before the sitcom hits its hiatus, which has the potential to be permanent. To be clear, CBS hasn't slammed the axe of cancellation down on the well-cast comedy, and the network retains the option to renew for Season 4 at any point, according to Deadline. There are no doubt several reasons why CBS decided to keep The Odd Couple to its shortened 13-episode season, and apparently none of them are so bad that the show needs to end, nor so flimsy that enough confidence remained to bring another nine episodes into it.

The Odd Couple is in something of a rare spot in this situation, since its previous seasons were also only 13 episodes each, so CBS not wanting a full 22 episodes isn't out of the ordinary. However, the network promoted The Odd Couple from midseason replacement to its fall premiere status this season, since the ratings from Season 2 were so strong, regularly hitting above 7 and 8 million viewers. Those ratings haven't been nearly as strong in Season 3, however, and only the recent Garry Marshall tribute episode was watched by more than 5 million people on the night. Maybe CBS will considering ordering Season 4 for a mid-year premiere in 2018, though that does seem extreme.

Let's all just sit around and meditate on what it all means for a second, shall we?

Perhaps strangely, The Odd Couple has been the most successful TV show for Matthew Perry in his post-Friends career, so that would be a big blow if CBS decides not to move forward with Season 4. (He is also an executive producer and was part of the development process.) But I'm sure he'd find some other headline-worthy project not long after, as would his TV-friendly co-stars Thomas Lennon, Yvette Nicole Brown, Wendell Pierce and Lindsay Sloane. It's a waiting game for now, though.

The Odd Couple currently airs Monday nights on CBS, though it'll be taking next week off and returning on December 12. The latest iteration of Neil Simon’s classic play The Odd Couple is coming to CBS this fall from Friends star Matthew Perry, who will play the slovenly Oscar, while The State and Reno 911! founder Thomas Lennon will star as the straight-laced Felix. I'm absolutely behind this casting, and it's time for Perry to settle into another series that lasts longer than one season.

There is still trouble brewing behind the scenes, however, as the series’ post-pilot stage is currently fraught with recasting and retooling. For now, though, we can at least take a look at what our two leads will be bringing to the table. (Probably a very messy table, since it’s Oscar’s apartment.) The image seen above encapsulates everything that we need to know about these guys, from an archetype perspective. A poofy-haired Oscar is wearing an unbuttoned shirt over a New York Mets t-shirt, while the flat-haired Felix has replaced his suit jacket for an apron, though he’s still wearing the tie, vest, and shirt beneath it. That’s almost the opposite of anal-retentive, as one would assume spillage may happen on the nicer clothes, but Felix probably doesn’t spill things.

This modern-day retelling sees Felix and Oscar as two former college friends who are simultaneously watching their marriages go down the toilet. Oscar lets Felix move in, which at first seems like a bad decision, but it soon becomes clear that they're able to cope better together than apart. The series will also star The Wire’s Wendell Pierce and Horrible Bosses’s Lindsay Sloane. Get another look at the main duo below.

According to Deadline, actresses Georgia King and Sarah Baker have reportedly vacated the series after starring in the pilot, leaving two female leads without performers. King, star of the short-lived The New Normal, played a model who lived in the guys’ building, while Baker, whose fat girl rant on this week’s Louie was a class act, played Oscar’s assistant who is always having to apologize for her boss’ opinionated views. It’s unclear if those characters will remain written as is or if Perry and the other producers will rethink the roles.

Expect The Odd Couple to bring messy arguments into your home when the series hits CBS with a midseason post-football premiere.
CBS' Odd Couple reboot now has its official couple. Joining previously cast Matthew Perry in the comedy is Thomas Lennon, a comedic actor you may be more familiar with by face, if not by name. While Perry is set to play the sloppy roommate Oscar Madison in this new take on Neil Simon's classic story, Thomas Lennon will play the neurotic, neat Felix Unger in the pilot.

Late last month, it was reported that CBS had given a pilot order for an Odd Couple reboot. The multi-camera comedy would star Matthew Perry as one of the two mismatched roommates. Frasier veteran Joe Keenan is penning the pilot alongside Matthew Perry. And at the time of that announcement, Deadline noted that this was going to make a return to multi-camera comedies for Matthew Perry, who's worked with the single-camera format on shows like Go On and Mr. Sunshine since Friends wrapped up a decade ago. This week, EW reports Thomas Lennon has joined the project, playing Felix Unger.

Lennon has a lengthy list of acting credits, as he's an actor that tends to pop up in things, often as random funny characters, though he was featured more prominently in some than others. For example, if you're familiar with Reno 911, you probably know him as Lieutenant Jim Dangle. He also appeared regularly in The State. More recently, he played the part of Max on NBC's Sean Saves The World. And he played Doug in I Love You, Man. Among his more random appearances, he was an uncredited customer in Hot Tub Time Machine and a doctor in The Dark Knight Rises. Amidst those parts, he appeared in Party Down, The League, NTSF: SD: SUV, Key & Peele and Archer.

He's also no stranger to working with Matthew Perry. He played his best friend in the body-switching movie 17 Again, and Lennon also appeared in the "The One in Vegas" episodes of Friends. Remember Joey's hand twin? Lennon is that guy!

And did we mention that he co-wrote Night at the Museum, The Pacifier and Balls of Fury?

So we know both actors are funny, but what kind of dynamic will they have on screen together as bickering roommates? We'll find out if this project makes it to series. With all of the recent renewals, CBS isn't exactly leaving a whole lot of room for new comedies and dramas, but they haven't renewed all of their comedies yet -- still no word on The Crazy Ones yet and How I Met Your Mother is on its way out, so we know there are at least some available chairs for funny half-hour shows. Perhaps The Odd Couple will get one of them?

"Directing doesn't appeal to me that much," Lennon said. "I don't know what it is, it's just not really in my make-up. There's some people that have that sort of thing where they want to be in charge of stuff. But to me, that's sort of what I'm doing in the writing process." It would seem that his makeup has changed recently because now he's getting ready to make his feature directorial debut.

Deadline has learned that Lennon will be teaming up with longtime writing partner Robert Ben Garant to helm a script that they wrote called Hell Baby. The story centers on an expectant couple that moves to a haunted house in New Orleans only to discover that their soon-to-be-born child has been possessed by the devil. To solve the problem they contact the Vatican and bring in an "elite exorcism team." The directing pair has already brought on Rob Corddry and Leslie Bibb to star as the couple while Lennon and Garant will play the exorcists.

While Tom Lennon and Robert Ben Garant have some pretty terrible titles on their resumes - Taxi, The Pacifier, Herbie: Fully Loaded, etc. - when actually using their own voice the result can often be hilarious, as seen on shows like The State and Reno! 911. As directors they'll have total control and hopefully that will mean that they will really get to let their work shine.

Nicolas Cage is a huge comic book nerd. In fact his stage name (he was born Nicolas Coppola) comes from the Marvel comics character Luke Cage a.k.a. Power Man. Cage even once owned a copy of Action Comics #1 - the first comic book to feature the character of Superman - and it was eventually recovered, at one point the comic was actually stolen (it was eventually discovered in an abandoned Southern California storage locker last year and sold for a record $2.1 million at auction). Nobody knows exactly what happened or how the the comic went missing, but comedy writers Robert Ben Garant and Thomas Lennon are taking a whack at it.

According to THR, the Reno 911! stars have written a script called Action No. 1 about the theft and Lionsgate has picked it up for development. Set in 2000, the story will follow a group of "nerds" as they hatch a plan to steal Cage's copy of the book. The trade says that the script was written with the idea that Nicolas Cage would star as himself - or at least a version of himself - but says that the actor's involvement is "unlikely." In a strange twist, they also say that Jason Statham's name has been brought up in connection with the project, but he isn't attached and it is unknown what part he would play. Lennon and Garant's writing credits include Night at the Museum (as well as its sequel), Balls of Fury, Taxi and The Pacifier.

If Cage doesn't end up participating I really hope it's because of scheduling as oppose to personal feelings about the project. The actor has occasionally been known to have a sense of humor about himself - such as when he said he wants to make a Japan-set Wicker Man sequel where he plays a ghost - and this could give him a great chance to do just that. Knowing how much other crap he associates his name with, it would be a shame if he were to turn this one down just because he would be playing himself.

There’s an old saying in Hollywood that you should never work with children or animals. This is because unlike your average adult actor, children and animals tend to have no problem ignoring all the rules, make your life absolutely miserable, and extend movie shoots. Naturally this was a bit of a problem for Tom Lennon, who, in A Very Harold and Kumar 3D Christmas spent almost all of his screen time holding one of three two-and-a-half year olds.

Sitting down recently with the actor/writer one-on-one to discuss his role in the new comedy sequel, we not only talked about dealing with the baby, but also how shooting in 3D made him sometimes feel like he was talking to an imaginary friend, his future projects, and how he doesn’t have the patience to direct his own feature film. Check it out!

*Note: This interview starts off a bit differently than most, as he actually opened the conversation. This is me telling you that the next sentence is where the interview begins.

How good was I in this movie?

You’re amazing in this movie! You’re amazing in every movie, though.

I don’t know if that’s true.

What movies aren’t you amazing in?

Umm…

Exactly. You can’t think of any.

I don’t know how I was in What’s Your Number, that was alright. There's some other stuff I'm not amazing at too.

Like what?!

You're right, I'm amazing at everything.

I mean, can anyone wear Dangle shorts like you?

No. Well you gotta commit. You just gotta commit. You just gotta get over worrying about how you look or feel. And that's the gateway to success. And you're free. I look terrible in most of this movie.

You look good in this movie!

Like what's up with my hair in this movie?

It was fine.

I wanted it to look weird. My hair in this movie is based on, sort of designed- do you remember Geraldine Ferraro?

Oh of course, yes.

Is this for the internet?

Yes.

Can you put up a picture of her hair and my hair from this movie next to each other?

I can most definitely do that.

That would be great.

We'll have them side by side.

Or, like on the side of this interview, there'll be a picture of me from this movie? Click on it for a link to Geraldine Ferraro.

I can do that.

That would be great.

Why Geraldine Ferraro?

Uh, I don't know. I feel like it's a wig. I like to just choose something. Like for 17 Again, my hair looked like Kate Gosselin.

Yeah. [laughs]

But for this one I just kind of chose Geraldine Ferraro. I just like ladies' hairdos that don't look good on a man. Yeah.

And I guess, one other question I have also- you spend a good amount of this movie spending time with children.

Yes.

You're a parent.

I am.

So how was that experience?

It was one of the worst experiences of my life. Certainly the worst working experience. Um, every single scene we shot with the girls we would have to blast Beyonce's “All the Single Ladies” and dance around for about ten minutes. [laughs] And then the baby whisperer would say something like, “Let's all brush our teeth with our finger!” There was three of them. Because you can't work with one, you need three. And then... there was a trick to get them to do everything. The babies weren't told, “Hey, you're doing cocaine.” They were told like, “Hey, we're blowing pixie dust!” Which is fun. I didn't even swear in front of the babies actually.

That's important.

But, uh, the time I say that “My baby's fucked on cocaine?”

Yeah.

You might be able to tell that's looped, because on set I'm just mouthing that. But there were days- before the baby whisperer came on- there were days when we'd get 20 seconds of useable footage of the babies. Maybe ten seconds. And then the baby whisperer came on and it started going up to ten minutes a day. Great baby stuff. But it was hard and there were a lot times when I was just like, “Is this- is any life, is anything worth this? Is any 3D stoner movie worth how terrible everything is on this set? And how hard this is? And we have three screaming two-and-a-half-year-olds.”

And can you maybe talk maybe a little bit more about this baby whisperer?

Oh, Dawn. Dawn is a wonderful woman. We've now done two films together, she was also with me on What to Expect When You're Expecting. And she is a person who can, through very exciting and fun games and rewards, get babies and toddlers to do almost anything in a movie.

That's great.

And to have fun doing it. And once Dawn came onto the movie, it was tremendously fun.

Yeah.

Just when a two-and-a-half-year-old is melting down, which, when you have three two-and-a-half-year-olds, one of them is always melting down-

Yeah.

Always. That's just math. So it was intense.

Did any of your parenting skills possibly work?

I actually thought so. They worked off-screen more.

How so?

We'd play around for hours and then we'd start shooting and they'd say “NO WE DON'T WANNA!!!” And we'd be like, “Oh, great.” And then sometimes John Cho would do that too, like, “I DON'T WANT TO!!”

Yeah, but I hear he's like that just every day.

Yeah.

He's a nice guy.

They're actually two very funny guys.

So I'm also curious, being a writer as well as an actor, for one- do you actually prefer one over the other?

Um, that's hard to say. I think doing both probably keeps me sane. Because right when one is so frustrating; because they're both careers that can crush your soul; the disappointment level is- well, pick which one you're going to be more disappointed about, because they're both going to be pretty disappointing most of the time. Right when you're about to give up on one, it's great to have the other to sort of bounce back to, keep you sane. It also reminds you why you like the other one, to keep going back and forth.

And how does being a writer affect how you look at scripts and how you look at characters?

Um, quite a bit. I've actually known Jon and Hayden for years, the guys who wrote these movies. I've always been a fan of their stuff. Um... it does and it doesn't. Sometimes it's like, if I'm reading a script to rewrite it I have a totally different attitude about it. If I'm reading a script to act in it, I'm just like, “That's fun.” I love the idea of stepping into something that's written. And I don't have to figure out, I don't have to improvise a reason for everything that happens. I can just walk in and say these funny things. To me, every once in a while, that's a real treat. That said, I like to have some input, but most of what I do in this movie is exactly the way it was written in the script.

Interesting. I mean, working with Todd, is that something- did he give you the option to improvise?

He sort of did, somewhat, but it was also a very technically challenging film because of- well, as you can see, it's not one of those fake 3D movies.

True.

It's like, very intense, very beautiful, real 3D 3D movie. So the process was arduous. So it was not totally conducive to just goof around all the time. It's like we've got these two giant cameras. Each camera is two huge genesis cameras. And nuances when there's a stereographer around the DP, and y'know it was just super complicated.

Does it actually affect the way you act?

It's a little different because the mat box is super wide so you're almost never- well, usually in a movie, if you're doing a scene where someone's off camera, they stand right next to the lens and you're talking to them like that. But the mat box on these cameras is so big, about a foot and a half wide at least, that they can't do that. So anytime the other actor is offscreen, you're looking at a piece of tape. Always. Which is pretty brutal. So you're only really doing scenes with the other person if you can both be seen at the same time.

And is someone at least reading the opposite lines?

Oh, they're there.

Oh, ok.

You just can't see them. You can't really look at them, which is kind of distracting because they're there, and they're saying the lines, just not where you're looking.

So does it feel like you're talking to an invisible friend or something?

Yeah, basically.

Well that's nice. You get to use your imagination.

Yeah, but it's weird. Watch people's eyes in the movie, it's interesting. The 3D thing, it's interesting.

And what was your familiarity with the series before you joined it?

Uh, moderate at best. I mean, I knew Jon and Hayden and I thought they were funny guys. I'd seen the movies without... well, I'm not a big pot-smoker.

Ok.

Kind of never have been, because it causes me to have horrifying panic attacks. Like really... I see all these people who are laughing, saying everything's great. I have no idea what that's like. Because I have some weird thing in my chemistry that creates a panic attack the second the tiniest toke of marijuana enters or is near me. Um, so I was aware of the films and had seen that they were funny, but I wasn't a diehard fan of them.

Sure. I mean, do you enjoy stoner comedy in general?

I don't know if it's like, a huge genre. I don't own a ton of it. I don't have any pot paraphernalia in my house. But, uh, I think this one certainly is a pretty fun one. Like the smoke coming out at you from the screen is really insane. It's pretty amazing. It was like it was in the theater, in front of you.

Yeah. And Amir Blumenfeld, he's really kind of an up and comer-

He's a super funny kid, I really like him a lot, he does a ton of stuff over at College Humor, he has a great webseries called Jake and Amir. Those two dudes sitting across from each other, and they're really, really funny. I like him a lot, we've become pals. I don't see him that much because he's on the east coast, but...

I am curious about some of your upcoming projects. One thing that I'm curious about is the Vin Diesel movie, The Machine.

Oh yeah, The Machine, the concept of the movie is sort of... it's in the style of that Peter Sellers movie, do you remember Being There?

Of course.

But instead of a Chauncey Gardiner type, it's an 80's terminator robot that's been in mothballs for 25 years underneath the Library of Congress. And he has a little adventure and like, meets a girl and stuff.

Nice.

It's just sort of, it's a remarkably sincere family film about an 80's terminator robot.

And this is your second movie that you've written for Vin Diesel. How does that change approach? Or does it?

It doesn't at all, except that we're really excited that he would want to attach himself to it. Um, I mean for us we're always just- well, there's a couple kind of movies we're writing. Like those kind of action-comedies and then stuff with Ben Stiller. Which is the other thing we always try to write.

You're doing Rentaghost too, right?

Rentaghost is going with Ben, which is really cool. I think that has the potential to be an extremely big hit.

I know that was originally in development with Russell Brand.

Right, it was in development with him for a while, and then that sort of fell apart it seems like. And then we re-tooled it when we heard that Ben Stiller was interested in doing it, and that he liked our take on it a lot. It was originally a BBC series, we're not Americanizing it in any way, other than Ben Stiller's in it. It's going to be a love letter to the old show, I think.

And can you talk a bit about the plot? I actually don't know much about the original series.

I can probably tell you the most general things without giving out any spoilers about it. Basically, Ben Stiller will be playing the Fred Mumford character from the old series. It's about a guy who runs an employment agency for ghosts. So it's a big, kind of scary family comedy. But with some scary stuff. And funny. It's our take.

Is it adult humor?

I think it's kind of, y'know, like Night at the Museum, maybe a teeny bit scarier than that.

Ok. And another one, really just reading the logline it blew me away, is Boondoggle. Which is kind of another comedy, like duo comedy adventure movie.

Yeah, Boondoggle is a movie I wrote with me and Rob Riggle and it's about these two guys who have this horrifying, uh, they go down to these islands to negotiate this deal on a business trip, and it just spirals out of control. Like they take these drugs and end up in a prison camp and all this crazy stuff happens to them.

And you're planning on starring in that too, am I correct?

That will star me and Rob Riggle when it happens.

Awesome. And what's the latest on that front?

Slow, slowly getting off the ground. Here's the thing I'm learning lately: small movies fall apart just as fast as the big movies. So it's like, we're in some various stage of getting that one going also.

You've directed a couple of things for Funny or Die, you directed a few episodes of Reno: 911! Have you ever thought about getting behind the camera for a feature film?

It really does not appeal to me, honestly.

Why?

Just directing doesn't appeal to me that much. I don't know what it is, it's just not really in my make-up. There's some people that have that sort of thing where they want to be in charge of stuff. But to me, that's sort of what I'm doing in the writing process. Which is I like creating the whole world and characters and things like that, but I'm also not the most patient person.

But you're an actor, you're standing around all day on set. [laughs]

I'm not standing around, I'm writing movies. I go to my trailer and I write movies as fast as I can, but directing requires depictions of a sight. Because everything will be evaluated, and there's only so much you can do about it.

When you are on set though, for the movies that you do write, do you take an active interest in them?

Absolutely, but we're usually not allowed on the set of movies that we write.

Ever?

Very seldomly.

Why?

Usually they invite you once as courtesy, but for the most part they don't want you there. Because all you'll do is stand over the director's shoulder. They know you'll just be like “NO NO NO STOP STOP NO!” And they don't really want that.

So is that kind of something you kind of get?

They know that you're just going to be fucking annoying if you come to the set.

Do you know that as well?

Oh, I'm well aware of that. And I probably will, I'll stand there going “NO NO NO NO NO STOP STOP STOP! You've got it all wrong, I pictured it like this back in my room, back in my library where I wrote this!” [Laughs] “Fuck you. This is the location we've got, shut up” [laughs].

As the oft-maligned, hopelessly optimistic yet dopey to a fault Lieutenant Jim Dangle on Reno 911, actor Thomas Lennon always struck me as the kind of guy destined to strive to first but always finish last. That may have been true for his Daisy Duke-wearing police officer, but Lennon is a guy clearly ahead of the game in Hollywood. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lennon has just confirmed roles the two upcoming movies A Very Harold and Kumar Christmas and the Chris Evans and Anna Farris romantic comedy What’s Your Number.

In the next Harold and Kumar tokefest, Lennon will play Harold’s neighbor, a family man, whose path crosses with the weed-smoking pair. In What’s Your Number he’ll play one of Farris’s ex-boyfriends.

Lennon has shown in his roles in I Love You Man and Hancock the ability to play the everyman; if the everyman was always just a little too serious and self-involved. What pops up on screen is a guy we laugh at, without really understanding exactly why. It's comedy gold.

Lennon can next be seen alongside Cameron Diaz and Jason Segel in Bad Teacher.
