Zoë Kravitz and Harry Styles got engaged less than a year after their relationship was outed by a fan who saw them together in Rome. However, they’re apparently wasting no time getting plans in place, as sources for Page Six report that the duo plan to wed before the end of the year.

The celebrity couple is reportedly thinking of having “a small wedding” with just friends and family, though I have to wonder how small that could be for two A-listers of their caliber and Zoë Kravitz’s famous parents. Either way, the Blink Twice director and the Harry’s House artist are allegedly hoping to tie the knot in the UK — where they’ve spent much of their time together — and to do it around Christmas.

I know the warmer months from spring to fall are the more traditional times to get married, but my goodness, how romantic is the thought of a London wedding around the holidays? What’s more, it sounds like they might be following in the celebrity tradition of having multiple ceremonies (Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce may be doing this, too, with one big event to serve as a decoy for a more intimate ceremony).

If Harry Styles and Zoë Kravitz are planning more than one event, it’s very likely New York would be the second location, with another source saying:

The big news comes less than a year after the couple was first spotted together in Rome last August, and jewelry experts say the One Direction alum likely dropped quite a pretty penny for the sparkler.

Photographers have been able to capture some pretty clear shots of Zoë Kravitz’s engagement ring, with experts telling Page Six that the stone appears to be a cushion-cut diamond set in a yellow gold bezel. Laura Taylor of Lorel Diamonds estimates its cost at up to $600,000, saying:

Ajay Anand, CEO of Rare Carat, meanwhile, agrees the bezel makes the ring appear “seriously huge,” while also giving it an “effortlessly chic, almost understated feel despite the sheer size of the stone.” However, he thinks Harry Styles may have dropped an even higher dollar amount for what Anand estimates is a 10- to 12-carat diamond. He thinks it’s worth possibly as much as $800,000.

With no official word from the celebrity couple, we can’t be sure which designer Harry Styles chose to craft the ring, but Laura Taylor noted:

If these estimates are correct, the sparkler given to Zoë Kravitz by Harry Styles is an upgrade from the ring she received from Channing Tatum back in 2023. The Blink Twice star gifted his director with a 7-carat Jessica McCormack cushion-cut diamond in a solitaire setting that was valued at somewhere between $300,000 and $500,000. The couple split in 2024 after three years of dating, without ever making it to the altar.

Zoë Kravitz was also previously married to Karl Glusman. They were married for about a year and a half before she filed to end the marriage in 2020. The divorce was finalized in 2021.

You know what they say — the third time’s the charm, or at least that’s likely what Zoë Kravitz is hoping. Meanwhile, Harry Styles has dated a lot of famous women but has never before been engaged or married.

You’d think Kravitz might understand the life of a rock star, too, given that she is the daughter of Lenny Kravitz. Plus, she is often booked and busy herself as an actress. Coming up, she’s one of the stars of How To Rob A Bank, which is set to be among 2026 movie releases this fall with Nicholas Hoult, Anna Sawai, Pete Davidson and Christian Slater, and could likely be part of the new seasons of Big Little Lies and The Studio.

Styles and Kravitz’s relationship became public knowledge when they were first spotted together in Rome over the summer, before Styles was seen meeting with her dad, suggesting they were more than just a summer fling. Swifties can continue to enjoy all of the music about Harry Styles. However, it’s good to hear that he and Taylor Swift are both reportedly thriving in their new relationships and that it apparently hasn’t affected her friendship with Zoë Kravitz.

It’s cuffing season, and it looks like there's now more evidence to support the rumor that Harry Styles and Zoë Kravitz might be dating. The two were spotted together this past August in Rome by a fan who captured their outing on video, despite the Don’t Worry Darling actor gently denying a photo because he was “offline” at the moment. The “As It Was” singer is still inactive online, but seemingly a bit more relaxed about sharing his new relationship.

Styles and Caught Stealing actress were captured by paparazzi out on a date Thursday night in New York City. In pictures posted by ET on Instagram, the pair can be seen twinning in pants and loafers, both bundled up in long dark coats to fight the dropping fall temps in NYC. He’s got his mustache and she’s rocking a pixie/bob under a hat, and they both look fabulous. While walking to their destination, Styles and Kravitz hold hands, smiling while in conversation. Ah, I love young love.

I have to say, the smiles look genuine, too. The caption on the post says that the two are reportedly “very into each other,” per an inside source. This isn’t the first time they have been captured strolling around New York like a other couple, either, as Deux Moi posted a video of them out for a coffee run last month.

They certainly look like they are enjoying each other’s company. I like that these pics look more casual than most celebrity date snaps, where usually one person is pulling their partner through a crowd of flashing lights.

Regardless, these two are seemingly finding easy, good company in one another, after a couple years of tumultuous relationships and serious breakups. The former One Direction member was seriously dating Olivia Wilde for nearly two years before their split in late 2023, which reportedly was a rough, emotional time for both of them.

Even more recently, Kravitz called off her engagement with Blink Twice collaborator Channing Tatum. The celebrity pair were together three years before calling it quits, but must be on decent terms, as they both signed onto the upcoming film Alpha Gang. In fact, Kravitz told Elle that she still “cares for him very much” and that she feels “so grateful that (they) got to go on that journey together.”

So the real question is, are Styles and The Batman actress really together? And if they are, will this be long-term? Only time will tell, but signs point to the latter, given the couple was seen out to lunch with the High Fidelity actress’ father, musician Lenny Kravitz.

I’ve got to say, I like this duo, and I selfishly hope they stay together. They both are so effortlessly cool and in touch with themselves; I think they could complement each other well. Well, now it has become even more unforgettable, because the pop star shared Taylor’s Version of this situation, I can’t stop thinking about her calling it “the chicest thing.”

So, for a bit of background, about a month ago, Zoë Kravitz was promoting her project on the 2025 movie schedule, Caught Stealing. She appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers to talk about the film as well as a wild situation she found herself in while staying at Taylor Swift’s house. She recalled her mom’s snake getting stuck in the wall of the singer’s bathroom, and them having to rip it apart to get her. They eventually got the snake, and the bathroom was fixed, so all is well with the world.

Then, Swift told her side of the story when she appeared on the SNL alum’s show to promote her new album, The Life of a Showgirl. While it did involve her bathroom getting ripped apart, she seemed entertained by her friend’s misfortune, as she recalled the phone call she had with her security team about it, explaining:

She then referenced just how stylish Kravitz and her mom, Lisa Bonet, are, and because of that, she figured this whole ordeal looked like a high art photo shoot. Honestly, if anyone can make this look cool, it’d be these two, which leads me to agree with the following point the “Opalite” singer made:

She also noted that Kravitz and Bonet have “elite cheekbones.” And she’s right, they do. If anyone can make this situation look glamorous, I think it’s these two. So, yeah, this whole situation probably was weirdly chic.

Anyway, the story went on, and the pop star recalled how Kravitz didn’t actually tell her about all this until after her bathroom was totally fixed. She figured that would be the case too, as she explained to Meyers:

As you can see in the video above, Swift then went on to explain exactly what happened to Kravitz during this phone call, where the actress was trying to come clean. It was hilarious, as the High Fidelity star exclaimed at the end, “I told them not to tell you!” However, “The Fate of Ophelia” singer said that she was really just laughing over it all for weeks, quipping:

Since the actress fixed the cupboard and considering how bizarre this entire situation is, I think that, like Swift, I would have found this whole thing hilarious. Plus, we know these two are very close -- Kravitz even heard Showgirl early -- which proves how tight they are. Therefore, I think all the reactions had over this fiasco were fitting and very funny.

Now, as the world continues to listen to the “12 bangers” of Life of a Showgirl and take in the fun stories Taylor Swift has been telling on this press tour, I’ll be hoping for some sort of joint interview between her and Kravitz. While that’s a far-fetched dream, I have to hear their back and forth about this ordeal, and I specifically need to know how The Batman actress feels about her friend calling this whole situation chic.

There’s no argument here that Zoë Kravitz makes bold fashion moves on the red carpet. Her famous parents, Lisa Bonet and Lenny Kravitz, did teach her to “beat” her own drum in Hollywood, andThe Batman actress’s daring red carpet style is certainly helping her do just that, as fashion mags continue to praise her style. However, Kravitz finds the praise amusing, considering she talks about walking around with her fly open.

You’ve gotta love Zoë Kravitz not only for her best movies and TV shows, but for her unapologetic style that shows off her beauty and poise. For example, W Magazine put the Big Little Lies actress on the cover of The Fashion Issue, and she made chic couture look incredible and snazzy:

Funnily enough, the Divergent actress told W Magazine that she doesn’t consider herself to be “cool,” even though her fashion choices that we've seen say otherwise. However, Kravitz has an amusing reason why, and I think this it is something we can all relate to:

The Fantastic Beasts actress wasn’t having it, bravely reportedly telling critics, “it’s just a body. we all got em.” That's the kind of response I love to see, and her confidence and nonchalant attitude are inspiring.

The fashion icon’s struggles with social media may have followed after the backlash, but that didn’t stop Kravitz recently from boldly wearing a sheer little black dress at Paris Fashion Week or being full cheeky at the Vanity Fair Oscars after party. With each daring look, Kravitz is glowing with poise that's admirable.

However, the cast have remained hopeful about Season 3 of BLL, now, despite nearly turning down the show, Shailene Woodley is getting hyped for Season 3, as am I.

As one of several HBO shows that have the world talking, it’s not surprising that Season 3 is still being talked about, even six years after Season 2. Following Deadline's news that Big Little Lies’ third season is officially in development at HBO, with Francesca Sloane set to write the first episode, the excitement is being turned up a notch.

Woodley even celebrated on her Instagram Stories, sharing a fun photo of her reunion with co-stars Laura Dern and Zoë Kravitz during New York Fashion Week. And just seeing a photo of the three of them has me ecstatic, as well as confirmation on Season 3:

Considering Big Little Lies Season 3 has been talked about for so long, it’s kind of hard to believe that it’s actually happening. Or at the very least, close to finally happening. The wait has been a long one, but the expensive HBO show has a good reason for taking so long, as HBO and HBO Max Content Chairman and CEO Casey Bloys previously said he wasn’t sure about another season. But then they told Variety in 2024 that he was optimistic it would move forward. Now getting Woodley’s confirmation that it is has me so incredibly excited.

That being said, just because the new season is finally moving forward doesn’t mean that HBO is only now working on it. Technically, Season 2 of Big Little Lies wasn’t the official final season, hence why Season 3 has always been in play. Bloys shared that it’s been hard to line up schedules, and with the show based on Liane Moriarty’s novel of the same name, he was waiting for her to write a follow-up. The wait has been worth it, and seeing the cast reunite and getting confirmation from them has me as pumped as ever.

Even though a third season is in development, it’s unknown how much longer it will take. It’s taken six years for the season to officially move forward, who knows how long it will be until production starts. Of course, fans have been waiting over five years already, so having to hold off for a little bit longer will be like nothing. At least the first two seasons of Big Little Lies are available with an HBO Max subscription.

Zoë Kravitz’s buzz for starring in one of the latest 2025 movie releases, Caught Stealing, has been recently overshadowed by rumors that she’s dating pop sensation Harry Styles. Less than three weeks ago, a fan captured a video of them hanging out in Rome, Italy, leading to speculation of their romance. Now a new report suggests the couple are “more than casual”.

After Kravitz and Styles were seen together on vacation in The Eternal City in late August, they were then spotted holding hands around New York City on September 6. But during their latest outing together over the weekend, they allegedly met with Zoë’s rock star dad, Lenny Kravitz. Following pictures of the reported couple and Lenny being photographed in the same breadth, a source told People the following:

As per usual with celebrity insiders, the source is unnamed here, but considering recent photos showed Harry Styles meeting with Zoë Kravitz and her dad, one can certainly assume the pair could be heading into a more serious direction. From the outside looking in, Kravitz and Styles would have a lot of common interests, especially their love of music, filmmaking and incredible sense of style. One might also imagine Lenny and Harry would absolutely get along given their careers as heartthrob rock musicians!

The alleged couple being made known to the public follows Kravitz’s last known long-term relationship with Channing Tatum ending back in October 2024 after being together for three years and planning on getting married. Styles was previously with Bones And All actress Taylor Russell for about a year, per Page Six. With that in mind, it’s safe to assume things are pretty fresh between Kravitz and Styles.

Kravitz has been on a global press tour for Caught Stealing with Austin Butler over the past month. It’s Darren Aronofsky’s latest movie which CinemaBlend gave a 3.5 out of 5 in our Caught Stealing review. (We also did an exclusive interview with Kravitz, Butler, Aronofsky and the supporting cast).

Styles, on the other hand, has been reportedly working on his highly-anticipated followup to Harry’s House, which came out back in 2022. Styles toured “Love On Tour” across 22 months from fall of 2021 to summer of 2023, making his hiatus for the past couple of years absolutely valid. Styles also starred in two movies in 2022, Don’t Worry Darling and My Policeman.

We’ll have to see how things go between this new alleged couple!

Zoë Kravitz may have looked cute with Austin Butler in her little black shirt and top at the Caught Stealing premiere. However, there are bigger romance rumors surrounding her and Harry Styles. Now, after a fan outed the two walking arm-in-arm in a video despite the singer being “offline,” they explained their intentions behind filming them.

The last high-profile relationship of Zoë Kravitz’s was when she was engaged to her Blink Twice actor Channing Tatum. After she and Tatum broke up in 2024, she was recently filmed being arm-in-arm with Harry Styles in Rome. That has sparked new romance rumors, and as those circulate, Bia Lyrio, the fan who filmed them, explained to ET that her video took place after requesting a photo with the My Policeman actor:

I would feel the same way, too, if I were sharing the same airspace with my favorite celebrity. So, it looks like the fan cared more about showing her followers that she saw Harry Styles in her area. She seemingly wasn't trying to start a rumor. However, rumors started anyway, and now many are wondering about the relationship between the singer and actress.

Despite being “offline,” a fan filmed Harry Styles and Zoë Kravitz together just for the purpose of letting everyone know they were in the same area. It goes to show that when it comes to the pop star, even a simple outing is enough to spark rumors of love.

Now, speaking about what we know these two are doing, Kravitz's 2025 movie release, Caught Stealing, is in theaters now. As for Styles, he hasn't released music in years, and it's unclear when more will come out.

Throughout Caught Stealing, Austin Butler's Hank Thompson makes a regular habit of calling his mom to make sure she know that he is ok, and in addition to being a sweet aspect of the movie that adds to Hank as a character, it also sets up an amazing cameo. While we never see who the protagonist is talking to on the other side of the line, the actress is revealed in the film's end credit sequence, and it turns out to be none other than the wonderful Laura Dern.

It's a terrific surprise at the end of Caught Stealing – but there is a wonderful bonus surprise to be discovered as well. It turns out that while they've never previously been in a movie or TV show together, Austin Butler and Laura Dern have been friends for years, and that helped lay the groundwork for the latter playing the former's mom in the new 2025 movie. CinemaBlend's Hannah Saulic asked about the special cameo while interviewing Darren Aronofsky earlier this month during the Los Angeles press day for the film, and he explained the past connection between the two actors:

It's perfect casting in all respects. In the movie, Hank has nobody closer to him in his life than his mom, even though she lives 3,000 miles away in California. They talk everyday and have a connection not only as mother and son but as die-hard fans of the San Francisco Giants. While Laura Dern is never shown while she is on the phone, the Caught Stealing mid-credits sequence sees her receive a package from her son in the mail that contains millions of dollars in cash.

After learning about the special connection between Austin Butler and the Jurassic Park star, Hannah followed up by asking the actor about the relationship when she had the chance to talk with him during the press day (where he was paired with co-star Zoë Kravitz), and he explained how she has been a wonderful part of his life in the last few years. Said Butler,

In recent years, Austin Butler has spoken about the fact that his mother passed away from cancer in 2014, when he was 23 years old, and it had an understandable emotional impact on him. In his time getting to know Laura Dern, he has found a special relationship, and he mentioned in our Caught Stealing interview that Dern even physically reminds him of his mom. He and Zoë Kravitz had a sweet back-and-forth about it, as captured in the video at the top of this article:

• Austin Butler: My mother used to always be told she looks like Laura Dern.
• Zoë Kravitz Really?
• Austin Butler: Yeah.
• Zoë Kravitz: Aww, man.
• Austin Butler: So when anybody would talk to my mom, they’d say, “You know, you look just like Laura Dern.”
• Zoë Kravitz: That’s crazy!

There is plenty of intensity in Darren Aronofsky's Caught Stealing, as the protagonist in the story finds himself unwittingly caught in the middle of a dangerous conflict including cops, criminals, and a missing stash of $3 million in cash – but there is also plenty of fun as well (a terrific change from the norm for Aronofsky, as I note in my CinemaBlend review of the new film). In addition to featuring slick action and clever dialogue, the 2025 movie also features some tremendous on-screen chemistry between stars Austin Butler and Zoë Kravitz, and that's perfectly exemplified in a bedroom scene where they race to see which of them can strip down first.

It's not only a great bit in the movie, as CinemaBlend's own Hannah Saulic recently found out during the Los Angeles press day for Caught Stealing that it inspired some healthy competition between the actors. "Winning" isn't actually a big deal for the characters Yvonne and Hank, but Kravitz and Butler both made a sincere effort to out-strip the other on set. As captured in the video above, they had a great back and forth together about it during the junket:

• Zoë Kravitz: I feel like it was genuinely competitive.
• Austin Butler: It was very competitive.
• Zoë Kravitz: Yeah. Yeah.
• Austin Butler: I also was holding a beer and I had a hat.
• Zoë Kravitz: Oh my God. I had a cigarette, I had a lit cigarette.
• Austin Butler: You’re splitting hairs here.
• Zoë Kravitz: Shirt over the head. Lit cigarette.
• Austin Butler: Yeah, that was pretty impressive. Did you keep it in your mouth? How’d you do that?
• Zoë Kravitz: Yes.
• Austin Butler: You kept it in your mouth when you took the shirt off?

I love that even months after production wrapped, they are still debating the race and deciding which of them had the biggest handicap as they worked to remove their clothes. Having seen Caught Stealing this week, I can confirm that they both recount the scene well, as Austin Butler had to contend with holding a beer and wearing a hat while Zoë Kravitz had the challenge of handing a lit cigarette.

In the finished film, it's worth noting that there isn't any real debate between the characters about who manages to take off their clothes the fastest (instead, the impromptu race is more of a lead in to the characters having sex). But just because Yvonne and Hank weren't making that a focus doesn't mean that the stars weren't paying attention:

• Austin Butler: She didn't win all the time. I sort of let her win on the…
• Zoë Kravitz: Well, it was…no, it wasn’t scripted who won.
• Austin Butler: Was it not scripted that way?
• Zoë Kravitz: I don’t think it said who won. It was a genuine, yeah.
• Austin Butler: Yeah. But it was a competition as you can see… because we’re still debating about it.

While the editing and the performances leave it up to the viewer who wins the race, you'll be able to make a judgement call of your own when Caught Stealing arrives in theaters this Friday, August 29.

Not only did Austin Butler team up with Darren Aronofsky for their movie Caught Stealing, but he shared some steamy scenes with Zoë Kravitz, who plays his girlfriend in the crime-thriller. But is there anything more going on between the two off-screen? Well, Butler was seen getting a little flirty with his co-star about her “chocolate” eyes, and that’s certainly not going to help the rumor mill at all.

When Zoë Kravitz attended the New York premiere of the upcoming book adaptation, giving A-level noughties with her little black skirt and top, she was all smiles with Butler on the red carpet. People reported (via Deuxmoi) that the two were seen kissing at Rita’s in London after a promotional event for Caught Stealing.

A fan also posted the day before about the pair being in Rome and walking down the street with Kravitz’s arm wrapped around the singer’s. Despite People’s source claiming that they’ve allegedly been spending time together during the crime movie’s press run, nothing has been confirmed or denied between the two celebs.

Harry Styles wasn’t the only A-lister that the High Fidelity actress has been around this year. On February 13th, Kravitz spent time with To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before’s Noah Centineo, as they were seen leaving Danielle Haim’s birthday party together in New York City. They were also seen a month later, leaving an L.A. bar, and then again in NYC in May. With these high-profile outings, it’s unclear if Kravitz is actually dating any of them.

Speaking of Caught Stealing, the film from Darren Aronofsky is led by Butler and also stars Kravitz, Regina King, Liev Schreiber, Vincent D’Onofrio, Bad Bunny and Matt Smith with a notably wild mohawk. The story seems to be action-packed and high-octane as it drags Butler’s character into a world of crime simply because he was trying to watch his neighbor's cat.

It looks like a really cool, fun and bold film, so it fits perfectly with Zoë Kravitz’s personal style, and now I really can’t wait to see her in it when Caught Stealing hits theaters on August 29.

Taylor Swift is known for her generosity. She gave her tour crew millions in bonuses, and she let Sophie Turner stay at her New York City apartment, for example. She also let Zoë Kravitz stay in her home when she had to evacuate during the LA fires; however, that stay didn’t go as planned. So, after the Caught Stealing actress shared the story behind how she “completely destroyed” her friend’s bathroom, someone asked if she would ever be allowed back inside the pop star’s house.

How Zoë Kravitz And Her Mom ‘Completely Destroyed’ Taylor Swift’s Bathroom

During the LA wildfires, Kravitz was one of many who had to evacuate, which she explained on Late Night with Seth Meyers. Her mom, Lisa Bonet, also had to leave her home, and Taylor Swift let them stay at her house while the fires were dealt with. However, it wasn’t just the actress and her mom staying there; it was her mom’s snake, too.

So, they all stayed in Taylor Swift’s house for about two weeks, and as The Batman actress was packing downstairs, she got a call from her mom, who was upstairs. Kravitz continued the story by saying:

The snake had gone into this hole, and Kravitz explained the hole was “next to a banquette that is built into the wall that has two drawers at the bottom.” Eventually, they got the house manager involved in the fiasco, and he came with a crowbar, as she explained:

Ultimately, they “completely destroyed” the bathroom, and she explained that her options were to do that or tell the singer they’d lost a snake in her house. Eventually, she told Swift that it happened and paid to have it fixed, but now we’re wondering: Will The Studio actress ever be invited back?

Will Zoë Kravitz Be Allowed Back in Taylor Swift’s House?

So, after that story was publicized, E! News asked Kravitz about “snake-gate” while she was promoting her film on the 2025 movie schedule, Caught Stealing. They asked her if she had been back to Swift’s house, and she responded with the following words:

Her co-star Austin Butler noted that it was “important to clarify” the reasoning, too, which led Kravitz to make this joke:

I’m sure she is allowed back there, especially since it’s clear that there’s no bad blood between the friends. In fact, Kravitz has heard Swift’s new album The Life of a Showgirl, which Travis Kelce said is “12 bangers.” I’d assume you have to be really close to the singer to get that kind of insider preview.

So, all appears to be well between the pals, despite the destroyed restroom (that has been repaired). Now, whenever the actress is able to get back to LA, I need to know if she pays a visit to her pal's house and its new bathroom.

The Batman Part II is one of the more highly anticipated upcoming DC movies. So, with the film being pushed back multiple times, it has already faced numerous rumors, including the idea that the film had been cancelled altogether.

Now, The Batman Part II is host to a new rumor that is almost as sensational as the cancellation speculation. While we have to stress this is only a rumor, it’s one that I’m really hoping James Gunn comes out to personally debunk soon, because if there’s any chance the rumor of a major cast member leaving is true, it’s not great news for the film.

Catwoman Is Rumored Not To Be In The Batman Part II

The rumor comes from industry insider Jeff Sneider, whose track record on scoops is far from perfect, but he has been right before. According to a post on Twitter, journalists attending the recent press junket for the new movie Caught Stealing were specifically asked not to ask Zoë Kravitz anything about The Batman Part II because, according to the source, “she's not in it and doesn't know anything.”

On its face, this is obviously a troubling rumor. Zoë Kravitz’s Catwoman was one of the highlights of The Batman, and her chemistry with Robert Pattinson was solid. Fans have certainly been hoping that we’ll see more of her in the sequel, and there was an expectation that she would return. A claim that she won't be in the movie at all is shocking and disappointing.

There Are Reasons To Be Skeptical Of This Rumor

While the rumor may be entirely accurate, at this point, we can’t say, and there are some reasons not to assume it’s true.

CinemaBlend attended the Caught Stealing junket over this past weekend. We were asked to focus our questions on the movie in question and not ask about unrelated films. However, there were never any direct requests to us regarding Zoë Kravitz or specific topics to avoid when speaking with her.

Asking that questions be limited to the project of the junket isn’t unusual. It’s a common request from publicists who are trying to get as much attention as possible on their specific film. That doesn’t mean that the source didn’t have the conversation in question, but it was not a blanket statement to journalists.

It should also be pointed out that the script for The Batman Part II was only recently turned in by writer/director Matt Reeves. That script will almost certainly go through some changes, small or large, before it reaches its final form. It’s unlikely that any of the cast will know anything about it, including who is actually in it, until the script is finalized.

We'll certainly have to wait and see what the truth actually is. The Batman Part II is expected to film later this year. We'll likely know by then just who is in it and who isn't.

It’s been nearly a week since Taylor Swift broke the Internet by using her boyfriend Travis Kelce’s New Heights podcast to announce her 12th album, The Life of a Showgirl, and it’s still all anyone can talk about. As fans continue to theorize about the easter eggs that may have hinted at this project as far back as three years ago, some people have actually heard the album. That includes Zoë Kravitz, and her six-word review has me so pumped for October 3.

Taylor Swift and Zoë Kravitz have been friends for years — even quarantining together when The Batman was filming in London in 2020 — so of course as the actress was out promoting her upcoming 2025 movie Caught Stealing, the big album announcement came up. Kravitz told Extra that she’d heard “bits” of The Life of a Showgirl, so what was her official response?

There you have it, folks. From the lips of Zoë Kravitz, six words to sustain us through the next six weeks until we can form our own opinions of the reported 12 tracks.

When host Tommy DiDario expressed surprise at the Blink Twice directors “no skips” claims, remarking how rare that actually is, Zoë Kravitz used four words to efficiently remind him that we’re talking about Taylor Swift here, replying:

It’s not like I’d ever expect Zoë Kravitz to say anything less than glowing about her buddy; the two women have always been publicly supportive of each other — including the time Taylor Swift shared a photo from inside her screening of The Batman to praise Kravitz’s performance as Catwoman. But the actress’ unabashedly positive review still has me excited, because it feels like the more people who have heard the upcoming new music from Swift, the more real it is.

As I mentioned at the top of this story, Zoë has gone viral before for roasting her dad, and he loves it. In fact, during an interview with The Times, he said that kind of reaction is “absolutely exactly what your daughter is supposed to do.” So, I bet he got a kick out of his kid’s cheeky post on his literally hot Instagram post:

You know, it’s a solid joke about this post that could be considered a thirst trap and some solid advice. It’s important to stay hydrated, especially in the hot heat.

Overall, though, this moment is just another example of the sweet bond Lenny and Zoë share. He’s said in the past that he knows he can be an embarrassment to her, and he loves that she gets a good laugh at his expense. While this image is by no means embarrassing -- I mean, look at him -- from the perspective of his child, it could be seen that way, and I love how they lean into the humor in that.

Now, I can’t wait to see how the Kravitzs continue to support and (joke about) each other. We might get that soon, too, because Zoë’s latest project on the 2025 movie schedule, Caught Stealing, is set to hit theaters on August 29. Seth Rogen & Co. deserve a lot of praise for everything that’s made The Studio’s first season such a hilarious treat for streaming audiences, from A+ directors cameoing as themselves to the spot-on satire surrounding its Kool-Aid movie to Rogen’s proficiency with on-screen pratfalls. The main cast also excels, of course, but the finale firmly proves that recurring star Bryan Cranston is not only this show’s biggest highlight, but quite possibly the funniest thing on TV in 2025 altogether.

Of course, Cranston’s studio boss Griffin Mill wouldn’t have reached such unpredictably nutty highs and lows without the events of the preceding episode, "CinemaCon,” which goes a long way in supporting this argument. It’s of course where Griffin imbibed on countless shroom-enhanced chocolates and other drugs, leading to a largely bumbling and completely incoherent performance in “The Presentation.” Speaking of…

Bryan Cranston Deserves Awards For His Weekend At Bernie's-esque Physical Comedy

Matt's plight to pull off the most successful CinemaCon presentation imaginable seems all but possible on the morning of the event itself, considering no one involved is able to get any sleep, with Matt thinking it'd be a good idea to have a hallucinogen-fueled rager the night before. Who knows how successful he would have been if not for Griffin showing up and drinking, eating and snorting whatever was in his midst. Behavior that's made all the more troubling by Matt learning Griffin is 82, far older than what others believe him to be.

This perfect set-up for disaster is indeed hell for Matt, Sal and others, and the finale turns into a very self-aware semi-parody of 1989’s vacation-gone-awry movie Weekend at Bernie’s. (The second Andrew McCarthy movie reference, following Matt namechecking Mannequin in a previous episode.) That gimmick could easily lose its appeal with the quickness if handled wrong, but The Studio makes an artform out of it thanks to Bryan Cranston’s upper-echelon physical comedy talents.

The fact that Cranston isn’t playing a corpse makes his lolling and other unpredictable movements all the more hilarious, and there are moments where I felt positive a dummy was used in the actor’s place, only to realize the Breaking Bad star never left. Every single time his head rolled backwards or forwards, with his mouth awkwardly hanging open, I howled. Similarly, his every attempt to lick his ice cream cone floored me. I had to rewind several times because jokes were drowned out by my voice.

While many fans can’t wait to see Bryan Cranston return to the world of Malcolm in the Middle for that sitcom’s upcoming revival, I can’t imagine that anything he does in those four episodes will come anywhere near the excellence of his Studio performance. Which is made all the more impressive due to how completely incomprehensible the character was in the finale, with his only big line happening during the “Movies!” chant that closes things out.

It’s a perfect performance that just doesn’t happen very often in modern entertainment, but Cranston proves beyond all doubt that slapstick will never die. And if it turns out any of The Studio’s shelved episodes are about Griffin Mill, I will do whatever’s necessary to see them come to light.

Though Bryan Cranston's performance is on a wholly different level from everyone else in The Studio's finale, the episode also features the wildest scenes from Zoë Kravitz, who unwittingly chows down on way too many illicit chocolates before realizing that there's psilocybin in them.

I honestly could have watched everything that went down in Kravitz's hotel room in real time, considering how hiliariously childlike and completely random she became. Perhaps the biggest highlight? Her effortlessly nailing the Blackwing presentation for the CinemaCon crowd before walking backstage and gleefully confessing that she was peeing her pants. Pure chaos and pure comedy.

As if there weren't already enough unpredictable moving parts wandering around Las Vegas during The Studio's final two episodes, Dave Franco's presence is almost completely uncessary from a narrative perspective, but absoultely necessary to ramp up the comedic quotient. He basically exists to offer the loudest and most sporadic exposition possible, as he's also under a number of different influences

It's a testament to Franco's unbridled id-energy and charismatic smile that his performance works so well, since there isn't much to it beyond him yelling and enjoying everything. I mean, he obviously gets as caught up in the mayhem as anyone, and pulls off his own CinemaCon presentation despite being covered in blood from an unrelated incident. And it's hard to judge the crowd for applauding it, since it's surprisingly effective for something so off-the-cuff.

So by the time the Emmys come around again, if Bryan Cranston's name isn't one of the Guest Actor nominees for his stellar work as Griffin Mill, I. guess the only next step would be to eat a bunch of mushroom-filled chocolates and then produce my own version of the Emmys at home. Nobody needs to see that, though.

Channing Tatum and Zoë Kravitz broke up in October 2024 — three years after they were first rumored to be dating and only two months after they made their red carpet debut for their movie, Blink Twice. Now, the Magic Mike star has confirmed he’s dating Australian model Inka Williams, who soft-launched her romance with the 44-year-old actor ahead of the CAA Pre-Oscar Party at The Living Room bar on her Instagram Stories:

Channing Tatum and 25-year-old Inka Williams were together at the party, E! News confirmed, which came weeks after the two first sparked dating rumors. The couple color-coordinated, with Tatum sporting a black shirt tucked into black pants with matching boots with a beige jacket, while Williams was stunning in a strapless black dress with sheer tassels falling around her legs. She wore her hair back and accessorized with hoop earrings and black stilettos.

Also reportedly in attendance at the Oscars pre-party was Zoë Kravitz, but a potentially awkward run-in seems to have been avoided. The Batman actress was not photographed inside The Living Room bar or near the couple.

With a large cast that includes the likes of Cate Blanchett, Dave Bautista, Steven Yeun, Zoë Kravitz, Léa Seydoux and Riley Keough, I'm curious to see how much screen time for exes share in the alien comedy.

We’ve seen great TV shows that explore the struggles of working in Hollywood like HBO’s Entourage and the 2016 Emmy-nominated Lifetime series UnREAL. But Seth Rogen’s Apple TV+ series The Studio is on a whole other level, as it's filled with A-list celebrities to really add authenticity. Out of all of the A+ cameos in the teaser trailer, I wouldn’t even be able to pinpoint just one that I’d be most impressed to by in this 2025 TV schedule entry. (Okay, it’s Martin Scorsese).

Seth Rogen’s best movies are known for their big ensemble casts like This Is the End, The Disaster Artist and Sausage Party. But I certainly wasn’t prepared for all of the recognizable faces I saw in the first look at The Studio. The show sees Rogen starring, writing, directing and executive producing. Rogen plays aficionado Matt Remick, who becomes the newly appointed head of Continental Studios. Based on the teaser trailer, it’s a battle between executives, stars and corporate overlords amid the production of a big movie. We see the anxiety-ridden situations that occur behind the scenes like parties, creative meetings, awards programs and more.

Other than seeing panic and chaos occur in the teaser, I'm distracted by all of the A+ celebrity cameos that will be featured in the streaming series. If you were to ask me which celebrity I’m most impressed to see in the new Seth Rogen series, I wouldn’t be able to pick just one with all of the options in front of me. Though the first that truly stands out is Martin Scorsese, who looks in the trailer to be giving some brutally honest feedback about a talent:

I already have a feeling that Martin Scorsese’s cameo is going to be one for the books. The Oscar-winning director does make cameos here and there. Some Scorsese's best movies feature him on screen, and he also had that funny cameo in Entourage. Needless to say, I'm excited to see how he figures into this upcoming series.

Another celebrity cameo I can’t wait for is Catherine O’Hara. Known for playing one of the funniest characters on Schitt’s Creek, the Golden Globe winner looks to be a mentor of sorts for Seth Rogen’s character. It’s a huge relief that O’Hara’s time on TV isn’t over.

Bryan Cranston will also be appearing on The Studio as a Continental Studios employee. The Emmy Award winner hasn’t let us down yet with his prolific roles in shows like Breaking Bad and Malcolm in the Middle. I already can tell he’ll be bringing his infectious energy to the cast. Viewers can see Cranston's character telling Matt Remick what the studio’s expectations are in movies they’ll be making.

Of course, you can’t leave out Anthony Mackie. He's dazzled as Sam Wilson in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and as Twisted Metal's John Doe, and I'm ready to see him take on yet another sweet role:

My personal favorite honorable mentions would have to be Zoë Kravitz, Paul Dano and Charlize Theron. Kravitz has been wowing us with her most recent projects like The Batman and her directorial debut Blink Twice. Dano is one of the most talented actors out there who constantly delivers transformative performances in movies like Little Miss Sunshine, There Will Be Blood and The Fablemans. Considering how many films he does, it's refreshing to see him on a TV show (though he was on Mr. And Mrs. Smith last year.)

And I'm definitely confident that Charlize Theron will do a great job on The Studio. Coincidentally, she worked with Seth Rogen in Long Shot, and their chemistry was great.

Though this first look at The Studio is just roughly a minute-long, I’m already anticipating Seth Rogen’s new series, and the A+ celebrity cameos as the sweet icing on the cake. Plus, if Martin Scorsese is going to be in it, how can I ignore it? The first two episodes of the 10-episode half-hour series will be available to stream with an Apple TV+ subscription on March 26th, with one episode subsequently premiering every Wednesday.

Now, an inside source reveals how the two allegedly feel about working together.

According to People, a source close to the couple explained that the split was “amicable” and rooted in differing priorities. The source close to the two Hollywood A-listers said:

Shortly after the world became aware of the engagement being called off, Steve Kazee, made a post on his Instagram Stories (via E! News) repeatedly writing “HAHA.” Fans were quick to assume this cryptic post was in response to the Magic Mike actor’s breakup. However, the Once actor made a follow-up Story the next day saying his laughing was actually referring to a TikTok about household plants:

The Vow actor denied these claims.

With the two allegedly in disbelief over how long this divorce battle lasted, everything was finalized in September. The former couple waived spousal support and worked out any custody disagreements privately with a judge, and now it's over.

Amid all that, Jenna Dewan started dating actor Steve Kazee in 2018. They share two children, 4-year-old Callum and 5-month-old Rhiannon. Kazee even played Dewan’s “psychotic” fictional husband in the Season 4 midseason finale of her ABC series The Rookie. Then, in February 2020, it was announced the happy couple got engaged. Now, they're still going strong as they just welcomed a new baby.

When it comes to the best horror movies we’ve seen in the past decade (and of all time), there’s no question that Jordan Peele’s work as a director changed the game for the genre when he made Get Out. But, where is the wave of other Black filmmakers getting their own moment to put out hit movies from their own perspective in the light of the 2017 Best Picture nominee’s success? Unfortunately, while he opened a much needed door, no other Black horror film has quite reached the phenomenon status of one of Peele’s films since, for the time being.

That doesn’t mean there haven't been some solid horror movies from Black filmmakers with something to say since 2017, they’re just mainly under the radar. Check out these terrifying films from the genre by up-and-coming Black directors that we’ve got circled in red:

Zoë Kravitz - Blink Twice (2024) 

This one is among the 2024 movies that recently hit theaters, but is already sadly cementing itself as an underrated horror release, especially given its box office performance. Blink Twice is the directorial debut of The Batman actress Zoë Kravitz, based on a script she penned herself.

The movie follows two women (played by Naomi Ackie and Alia Shawkat) who get invited to have a dream vacation on a private island by Channing Tatum’s billionaire tech mogul character, Slater King. However, it isn’t long until Ackie’s Frida begins to question the happenings on the island and her own reality.

Although Blink Twice hasn’t stacked up commercially to other recent releases like Deadpool & Wolverine or Alien: Romulus, the movie has been praised by critics for the big swings Kravitz takes with the concept that seek to make some commentary on gender disparity and white privilege and her super cool attention to the direction. I can’t wait to see what Kravitz does next as a director, and I hope it’s in the horror space once again.

Justin Simien - Bad Hair (2020) 

After coming in hot with a fantastic debut in the form of 2014’s Dear White People, writer/director Justin Simien went the satirical horror route with the vastly underrated Hulu horror film, Bad Hair.

The incredibly stylish 2020 movie follows a Black woman living in 1989 and working at an African-American music TV channel who’s new weave begins to take on a life of its own. At first, it appears to help her succeed in all the ways she hopes for, but as the movie progresses, it becomes apparent that her weave is haunted and even has some seriously disturbing roots that take hold of her.

Through its slick concept, that is also infused with a ton of fun over-the-top campiness, Simien talks about how damaging beauty standards can be with a ton of dark comedic beats. Check out our explanation of the Bad Hair ending once you watch it with your Hulu subscription.

Emmanuel Osei-Kuffour Jr. - Black Box (2020) 

Back in 2020, Blumhouse Productions put out an anthology of horror films for those with an Amazon subscription called Welcome to the Blumhouse. One of them was Emmanuel Osei-Kuffour’s science fiction horror film, Black Box. The movie stars Mamoudou Athie as a young man named Nolan who suffers from amnesia after being in a tragic car accident that left him a widower and single father. In order to get the help he needs, Nolan signs up to take part in a new experimental treatment being performed by Phylicia Rashad’s Dr. Lillian Brooks, that will allow him to access his own memories.

While our Black Box review from the time of its release pointed out the intriguing concept had some “untapped potential,” that doesn’t take away from Osei-Kuffour bringing something fresh and worthy to the screen as a Black filmmaker, so that we hope he’ll have the chance to do more in the future. The writer/director recently helmed episodes of Shogun and Star Trek: Discovery, but has yet to be behind another horror movie of his own since.

Mariama Diallo - Master (2022) 

Regina Hall is the star of a psychological horror thriller called Master from writer/director Mariama Diallo, which was her debut movie. It premiered at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival to rave reviews from critics that praised its social commentary and effective scares. The movie follows Hall’s character of Gail Bishop as she is newly appointed the first Black master of an elite New England university.

With the lingering energy of the university previously being the setting of a woman being hung there for witchcraft during the Salem witch trials, Gail and a freshman Black girl (Zoe Renee) stand to be the only point of diversity in a predominantly white-led and attending university. Through that lens, Diallo has some interesting things to say about the harmful tokenism and racist micro-aggressions that can be especially harmful.

Oz Rodriguez - Vampires Vs. The Bronx (2020) 

Afro-Dominican filmmaker Oz Rodriguez was a segment director on Saturday Night Live for a decade. Toward the end of his time on the hilarious (and legendary) sketch show, he co-wrote and directed Netflix’s Vampires vs. the Bronx. It’s a unique and fun take on the world of vampires. It follows a group of young kids, who are a mix of Latino and Black who must save their neighborhood in the Bronx from the vampires gentrifying it.

Vampires vs. the Bronx has a lot of fun blending the realities of gentrification with its Black horror comedy. You can check it out with your Netflix subscription.

Nikyatu Jusu - Nanny (2022) 

Lastly, but certainly not least, is Nikyatu Jusu’s chilling directorial debut, Nanny. When CinemaBlend spoke to the filmmaker back in 2022, she spoke about bringing West African folklore to the horror genre through the film that follows an immigrant woman from Senegal who finds work as a Nanny in America amidst being apart from her own child.

It won the Grand Jury Prize when it premiered at the prestigious Sundance Film Festival, making it the first horror movie to receive the honor. Next, Jusu is working on an untitled horror movie with Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions and Universal, via Deadline. While her fantastic debut is underrated, it’s great to see it led to her next (even higher-profile) movie.

Uh… new favorite couple alert! Channing Tatum and Zoë Kravitz are absolutely adorable together, and their collaboration on one of the latest 2024 movies, Blink Twice, took this to center stage. The engaged actors have been everywhere lately promoting the twisted horror movie, and now that it’s out in the world and people are dissecting Blink Twice’s ending, Tatum shared a sweet photo praising his fiancé’s work on the movie.

Channing Tatum took to Instagram on Tuesday to post a shirtless photo of himself with a sleepy Zoë Kravitz, and he also shared a cute message about her work on the directorial debut. Check it out:

Zoë Kravitz had been writing her first movie for years before she approached Channing Tatum to star and started shooting the thriller in 2022. As Tatum shared in his tribute to his director and real-life partner, she’s been going nonstop with making of Blink Twice, and it looks like she’s finally allowing herself time to get some real shuteye. Tatum says The Batman actress “pour’d every single ounce of her” into the new release, and he’s “so proud” to be part of it.

While Tatum doesn’t think everyone “will ever know” the amount of work Zoë Kravitz put into her directorial debut, critics certainly had a blast with it. CinemaBlend’s own Blink Twice review gave the movie four out of five stars, with our own Jessica Rawden calling it a “cleverly done” movie that is also “lushly shot.”

The movie was originally called Pussy Island, and per the actress, she actually thought of Channing Tatum specifically when she was penning the script. She told Deadline that she had a feeling from Magic Mike and such that he’s a “true feminist” and wanted to collaborate with him. Not long after they paired up for the movie did rumors of a romance begin among the pair, and they’ve since been pretty open about why they are smitten with each other.

Kravitz shared in 2022 that he’s a “wonderful human” who makes her laugh and can connect on “talking about art”. The pair apparently love watching movies together and breaking down their thoughts on it together. The couple were revealed to be engaged in October 2023 and have been rather open about their relationship while promoting Blink Twice together.

However, the movie hasn’t been able to reach hit status yet as Deadpool & Wolverine, Alien: Romulus and It Ends With Us made more money than it on Blink Twice’s opening weekend. Thus far, it's has made $30 million against a reported production budget of $20 million.

Blink Twice may not exactly be crushing it at the box office, but first-time director Zoë Kravitz should still be on top of the world. Critics who've seen Blink Twice are calling her a “true talent” at the helm, with our own Blink Twice review praising her “keen eye.” This isn’t her first time being involved behind the camera, however, as she previously served as a writer and producer on Hulu’s short-lived, yet beloved show High Fidelity. Although it was cancelled years ago, the wound still stings, and Kravitz recently made mention of her frustration surrounding the streamer’s decision to pull the plug.

I sat down with Zoë Kravitz to talk about Blink Twice, but I couldn’t let the opportunity to gush about High Fidelity pass me by. When I expressed my desire for another season, she simply said:

Allow me to provide further context: High Fidelity was an incredible achievement. Any fan of Nick Hornby’s famous book or John Cusack’s iconic film would be skeptical about a television adaptation. Hell, even John Cusack himself figured they would “fuck it up.” But by some miracle, Zoë Kravitz and co. pulled it off. This isn’t a secret, as the show is critically well received just about any platform you can think of. Why do shows with a loyal audience and so much praise get cancelled? Who knows, but either way, it certainly beat the odds.

It seems that the secret ingredient in this equation was passion for the project and an understanding of the source material, as Kravitz explained:

I do wonder if the critical success of High Fidelity led to Blink Twice, at the time titled Pussy Island, getting greenlit at MGM. After all, Zoë Kravitz and her writing partner E.T. Feigenbaum had been trying to get their film made since well before High Fidelity was in development. By the time they got the go-ahead, however, the Hulu show had come and gone. It's another testament to the strange way this industry works, and how projects can end up in development hell.

It’s worth noting that when Hulu announced the cancellation of High Fidelity, Zoë Kravitz responded graciously, and in a very on-brand fashion. Now she's on to bigger things and bigger screens!

To reiterate, Blink Twice is totally worth the watch, and promises great things for Kravitz’ future as a filmmaker. You can see it in theaters right now! As for my late friend High Fidelity, you can revisit the first and only season with a Hulu subscription.

You may still be talking about Channing Tatum’s Gambit accent, but the rest of us have moved on to his stellar, arguably career-best performance in Blink Twice. His fiancé, Zoë Kravitz, served as director on the film, and critics are going nuts for her debut at the helm. During my interviews with the Blink Twice cast, they completely gushed about the first-time director. However, perhaps the most flattering (and hilarious) anecdote about Kravitz came from Tatum himself, who told me about the time that she improvised his favorite line from the film.

Towards the end of Blink Twice, things have gotten messy. Naomi Ackie’s Frida discovers she’s been drugged to forget the last time she was with Channing Tatum’s Slater King, and in a disturbing moment that really showcases how twisted King is, he tells her that she’s his best friend and “boops” her nose. Tatum loved the intentionally bizarre discomfort of the scene, and told me that Zoë Kravitz’ request in that moment felt like a Superbad reference:

It’s fitting that Channing Tatum, who famously worked with Jonah Hill on the Jump Street films and with the rest of the Superbad cast on This Is The End, would immediately think of Jonah Hill “booping” Michael Cera when Kravitz fed him this line. After all, Superbad is considered by some to be one of the funniest films of all time, but more importantly, Tatum has a personal connection with the cast. He even went over his famously meme-worthy “My name is Jeff” line from 22 Jump Street, and to me, the fact that both of these films came up organically in an eight-minute interview with Tatum is very telling. If you don’t recall the boop in question, allow me to refresh your memory:

The praise for Zoë Kravitz didn’t stop with her fiancé, as Naomi Ackie chimed in herself to express her love for Kravitz’ dark filmmaking style:

Sick and twisted indeed, but in the best of ways! Our Blink Twice review said that the movie's 102-minute runtime “just flies by.” With Channing Tatum also entering the Marvel universe, the dude is having one hell of a year, and given the praise surrounding Zoë Kravitz’ debut, they really seem to be cementing their place as a Hollywood power couple.

With Blink Twice hitting theaters this past Friday, August 23, fans are buzzing with excitement. Earlier this month, Zoë Kravitz and Channing Tatum made their red carpet debut as a couple, and they stole the show at the Los Angeles premiere, clearly enjoying every moment.

However, nothing beats a sweet father-daughter moment — Zoë looked stunning alongside her dad, rock legend Lenny Kravitz, who was effortlessly cool as usual. The playful nod to Kravitz’s workout attire by his daughter in and outside of her directorial debut just proves that the Kravitz family might be the coolest in Hollywood.

Critics agree that Blink Twice is an impressive, albeit imperfect, directorial debut for Zoë Kravitz, and many are eager to see what she does next. The positive reviews far outweigh the negatives, with the film holding a solid 79% rating on Rotten Tomatoes from 141 critics at the time of writing. So, I'd say that this film is well worth seeing.

The new 2024 movie, Blink Twice, originally held the title of Pussy Island, which, now that I have seen the movie, makes perfect sense. The moniker would have been, at least, thematically appropriate for the directorial debut of Zoë Kravitz (who also co-writes with E.T. Feigenbaum), given that it is provocative and cheekily over-the-top, as well as a fun and twisty thriller according to our Blink Twice review. Furthermore, it provides a hint at the dark secret behind its seemingly idyllic setting.

The new movie, which is now in theaters, stars Naomi Ackie as young server Frida, who is invited to join tech billionaire Slater King (Channing Tatum, Kravitz’s real-life fiancé) and others on his private island. She and her roommate, Jess (Alia Shawkat), are initially ecstatic about the opportunity, until concerning revelations lead her to suspect there is trouble in paradise. What sort of trouble is taking place and what does it all mean from a symbolic standpoint? Let’s go deeper into the unforgettable ending of Blink Twice and find out.

What Happens At The End Of Blink Twice

Frida begins to realize her “excellent memory” has been deceiving her when she notices Jess is missing, but Sarah (Adria Arjona in one of her best movies yet), Camilla (Liz Caribel), and Heather (Trew Mullen) suddenly cannot recall her being on the island. After Frida discovers her friend’s bedroom has been converted to a storage space overnight, Sarah confides in her that she is convinced something is amiss when evidence of Jess appears in the form of a lighter with her name written on it.

Frida realizes her memory kicked in after unwittingly taking a shot of non-lethal venom from the snakes Slater’s crew has been hunting, one of which had bitten Jess the night before, meaning it must be an antidote to the memory-suppressive chemical she deduces is in the island-exclusive perfume, Desiride. Frida and Sarah lace tequila shots with the venom to “wake up” Camilla and Heather before Frida tries to reclaim their phones, which proves to be a dead end, but she does find a box of Polaroid prints showing previous outings with different male guests. Around this time, her memories begin to fully surface and she realizes the male island guests spend the nights sexually and violently abusing the women, knowing that they will forget all of it by morning.

By nightfall, Heather and Camilla’s memories finally click on, driving them to violently retaliate against the men and, during the bloody commotion, another look at the Polaroids leads Frida to realize this is not her first visit to the island. Moments later, with many of the island guests dead or horribly injured and Frida tied up, Slater comes clean about his disingenuous apologies for past toxic behavior and hints at his own early experiences with abuse at the hands of his father. Unbeknownst to him, Frida was able to cut herself free and, while he leaves for a moment, puts Desiride in his vape pen, causing him to forget the carnage that transpired.

Slater falls unconscious after he slips and hits his head on a table, knocking over candles that start a fire which Frida and Sarah safely escape and rescue Slater from, as well. We then flash forward to a gala for Slater’s company, which Frida now serves as the CEO for. She is also married to Slater, whom she keeps wrapped around her finger by constantly drugging him with Desiride-infused vape juice.

The Philosophical Question The Perfume Leads Blink Twice’s Characters To Explore

In an interview for Collider, Zoë Kravitz says the idea for Blink Twice came out of her desire to tell a story that explores the concept of power and, especially, taking back power. That is essentially what Frida does to Slater, and by the same methodology he used to assert dominance over her and other women on the island. While this could be viewed as somewhat hypocritical, as far as I am concerned it makes for a very satisfying conclusion to one of the best movies directed by a woman I have seen in recent memory.

In the speech he delivers to a tied-up Frida after the bloody climax, Slater only briefly hints at the abuse he and his sister suffered from their father before explaining that he is perfectly content to suppress that memory. For that reason, he sees no trouble in causing women the same kind of harm, because he offers them the “gift” of forgetting all about his abhorrent behavior by dosing them with Desiride. Magic roofies do not, in anyway, excuse the unspeakable acts Slater and his friends have committed and that makes him, as an abuse victim himself, the real hypocrite.

As far as we know, Frida is not using Desiride as a means to take advantage of Slater in a sexual way. Even before crossing paths with the tech billionaire at the first gala, she was disillusioned by feelings of powerlessness and the struggle to really feel like somebody, which she professes to Jess when she tried to warn Frida about the island after her snake bite. Now, Frida has achieved the power she desired by taking away the power that her abuser used against her. In that regard, our hero and our villain each got exactly what they deserved.

What The Blink Twice Island Represents, According To Zoë Kravitz

Outside of its similarities to another private island owned by a certain disgraced financier, the setting of Blink Twice boasts much deeper allegorical meanings than what comes at face value. Kravitz reflected on the symbolism below the surface in her feature in the aforementioned interview with Collider.

For instance, she says that the island was largely inspired by the Biblical tale of the Garden of Eden, in which the first woman, Eve, commits the “original sin” by taking advice from the Devil himself, disguised as a serpent, and eating a forbidden fruit that will open her eyes to the difference between good and evil. Kravitz finds the concept of a woman seeking knowledge being deemed sinful to be a little “fucked up.”

Thus, she decided makes snakes the saving grace of Blink Twice, imbuing the venom with the power to open Frida’s eyes to the evil before her. This clever metaphor reinforces the film as one of most well-crafted, best movies of the year and, especially, a powerful feminist parable.

Blink Twice seems like the type of movie worth revisiting a second time, with all of its wild twists and turns and symbolism. While it may very likely be available with an Amazon Prime subscription later on, being an Amazon MGM Studios production, I also highly believe it is an August release worth seeing in theaters (perhaps twice), so get yourself to the cinema if you have not already before this crowd-pleasing thriller disappears in the blink of an eye. 

Zoë Kravitz first found her place in Gotham City as the voice of Selina Kyle/Catwoman in The LEGO Batman Movie. Then, we saw her physical prowess in live-action form cast as Catwoman in Matt Reeves’ The Batman. If Kravitz thought she had an “incredible” experience filming the first movie, the Blink Twice director believes her antihero character will be “very fun” for The Batman sequel.

With The Batman dominating at the box office and being one of the highest-grossing movie in 2022, it seemed inevitable that Warner Bros. Pictures would greenlight a sequel. If a long list of fans and celebrities were stoked seeing Zoë Kravitz embody Catwoman, the High Fidelity actress has hopes that reprising this DC role will be “very fun” in the sequel:

The Batman presented a Catwoman unique to other versions, showing her slow transition into harnessing her skills while exploring her vulnerability. While Halle Berry’s Catwoman possessed supernatural powers after being resurrected, Zoë Kravitz’s Catwoman skills come from within instead of anything supernatural. She's got natural strength, strategy and excellent tools to get the job done. Now that we see Selina Kyle truly harnessing that power and no longer harboring the secret of being the daughter of a crime boss, it’ll be exciting to see what direction this takes her in the sequel.

In The Batman ending, we see Catwoman abandoning Batman after a series of bombs destroy the seawall, leaving the DC hero to perform his safety efforts for Gotham City residents alone. Her choice to leave Batman behind is very true to her character, in that she’s a clever thief and doesn’t take injustice sitting down. On the other hand, Catwoman is not a hero, which makes her connection to Batman a complicated one.

The Caped Crusader is a big believer in fighting evil while still holding onto a moral compass. Catwoman, on the other hand, has a moral compass that doesn't skew as much towards good. As the two DC characters looked to have a little romance going on between the two, I’d be curious to see if Batman will forgive Catwoman and team up or if the two will be at odds with each other throughout the film.

What we know so far about The Batman Part II, according to its star Andy Serkis, is that filming will "probably likely to be starting filming" in early 2025. You can not only expect Zoë Kravitz to return in her iconic role, but Robert Pattinson will take on the title character again, as well as a completely unrecognizable Colin Farrell as The Penguin. Kravitz has her own hopes for the sequel in wanting to see Bruce Wayne being less of a “recluse” and have more of a Golden Boy persona. Hopefully we can see some feel-good triumphant moments occur with the DC character so he can catch a break.

Now that The Batman established the character of Catwoman and freed her of the secret of being the daughter of a crime boss, Zoë Kravitz is hopeful her character will be “very fun” the second time around. There’s been a lot of buzz leading up to the release of Zoë Kravitz’s directorial debut Blink Twice on the 2024 movie schedule, whether it’s the changing of its original NSFW title or Kravitz finally making her red carpet debut with fiancé Channing Tatum, who stars in the movie. But now the behind-the-scenes work is done and the focus can turn to the project itself. Critics have seen Blink Twice, and they say despite some faults, this is a fun watch and a great first effort from Kravitz.

The film stars Naomi Ackie as Frida, a cocktail waitress who snags an invite for her and her friend to join tech billionaire Slater King (Channing Tatum) for a big party on his private island. The too-good-to-be-true getaway turns into exactly that. In the CinemaBlend review of Blink Twice, our own Jessica Rawden says Zoë Kravitz’s vision is super fun and chock full of leading lady energy. Rawden rates the movie 4 stars out of 5, praising Tatum and Ackie’s performances. She writes:

Travis Hopson of Punch Drunk Critics rates it 3 out of 5 stars, saying Zoë Kravitz’s career is off to a good start with a film that shoots for the moon and just barely misses the mark. Despite its imperfections, Blink Twice is still edgy and provocative, Hopson says, writing:

Richard Roeper of the Chicago Sun-Times agrees the rookie director takes a big swing in her debut and says she sticks the landing far more often than not. Roeper praises the skillful way she blends satire with horror in Blink Twice, citing the film’s striking visuals and smart dialogue. The critic gives the movie 3.5 stars out of 4 and says:

Aaron Neuwirth of We Live Entertainment gives the upcoming horror-thriller an 8 out of 10 User Rating, calling it effectively gripping and darkly humorous. Not having a definitive understanding of all that took place over the 102-minute runtime doesn’t take away from Neuwirth’s appreciation of the film. The critic continues:

Sophie Butcher of Empire says Blink Twice is a seriously effective, incisive thriller that both establishes Zoë Kravitz as a bold directorial talent, and shows us a side of Channing Tatum that we’ve never seen. The critic rates it 4 out of 5 stars, writing:

The critics agree this is an impressive — though not perfect — first effort from the director, and many voiced that they can’t wait to see what Zoë Kravitz does next. Overall the good seems to far outweigh the bad, as Blink Twice holds a 76% on Rotten Tomatoes from 72 critics as of this writing. The movie hits theaters on Friday, August 23.

I had no idea what to expect from Blink Twice heading into the theater. Much of the discourse surrounding Zoë Kravitz’s directorial debut had to do with the movie originally being called Pussy Island (she changed it after feedback from some women indicated they were offended) and that she met her beau Channing Tatum after sending him the script. The Blink Twice trailer shows audiences an island setting dripping with money and some violent delights. That would have been enough to sell me, but the movie is even more of a surprise.

I expected Blink Twice to be a thriller with violence, blood and some over-the-top creepy moments, and it delivers on all that, but what I didn’t realize about the movie was how it would be chock full of leading lady energy. The word "badass" is often overused – and don’t worry, I’m not going to go full-blown girl power on anyone here - and Kravitz doesn’t either – but she does deftly explain how women with not much in common can rally together with one another to just get shit done. It's an extremely compelling (and harrowing) tone, but it’s also can be fun! This movie is fun. 

But I’m getting ahead of myself. First, we meet Jess (Alia Shawkat) and Frida (Naomie Ackie) as two women who are still floating through life in a way that was probably fine in their twenties but is decidedly less compelling in their thirties. Frida can’t decide who she wants to be in life, and Jess seems to waft in and out of bad relationship situations; they both work as caterers with limited incomes while they figure it out. One day, their catering experience sends them to an event hosted by billionaire Slater (Channing Tatum), who seems to know a lot of people.

Saving you the explanation of how Frida and Jess get from this Point A to a Point B where they are sharing a private island with a billionaire, their up-for-anything attitudes help. What follows is a fever dream of fine dining, pool days, drugs, chickens, shots, adventures, love, hate, lipgloss, night runs, snakes and ultimately a mysterious disappearance that helps the 102 minute runtime fly by.

Blink Twice is definitely a debut for director Zoë Kravitz, but that’s not a bad thing.

It’s not all picture perfect. As noted, Blink Twice is Zoë Kravitz’s directorial debut and some of the movie’s ideas and even specific shots might feel familiar to audiences. She’s not reinventing the wheel when it comes to modern filmmaking, and some might find the way the story unfolds to be a bit simplistic based on what we get in the trailer. 

For some hoping to go into a straight horror film, a better comparison, to me, for Blink Twice would be the dark-but-funny Promising Young Women instead of 2023's Talk To Me. In noting the movie is fun, I'm talking more about the pace and the deft way Kravitz throws levity into startling situations. She keeps things off kilter and drips new information to the audience in a way that has us paying attention, even if the characters in the movie aren’t. 

It’s also lushly shot and pretty to look at – as one would expect from an island populated by shiny, happy people who also happen to have access to billions of dollars. 

Channing Tatum and Naomie Ackie are standouts in the Blink Twice cast.

There is some solid acting work being done in Blink Twice – including a surprise turn by Geena Davis. Two of my favorite former movie leads have now worked their way into character acting and I was pretty confident they’d bring something memorable: Mr. Robot’s Christian Slater and The Boys’ Haley Joel Osment. (Or, if you'd rather, Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves/True Romance's Slater and The Sixth Sense's Osment.) They’re off doing their own thing, which leaves space for Alia Shawkat and Adria Arjona to start chewing their way through scenes kind of out of nowhere starting in the middle of this movie.   

But this is Channing Tatum and Naomie Ackie’s movie, and they don’t waste any blissful or messed up moments. They are savoring the scenes and sinking their teeth into them. I’m not sure they’d care if you care for their movie, as they simply seem there to have the best time with the material. It’s not a Hollywood best for Ackie, but this is Tatum getting a chance to do something different –(twice in one year if we’re counting that Gambit accent), and he largely succeeds at it. 

We’ll Be Talking About The Movie’s Twists All Year Long

Without spoiling the ending, suffice to say nothing that happens in Blink Twice is exactly as it seems. Zoë Kravitz’s keen eye peppers in details throughout that possess special meaning in retrospect. It’s all cleverly done and leads to more than one twist that plays out before the final credits roll. The biggest of these surprises is more predictable, but some of the smaller things that begin to reveal themselves in the third act are what had me roped in the most. 

Just to give you an idea of the vibe I was really feeling, when I walked out of the theater, I actually thought to myself, "This is my favorite movie so far this year." Is it ultimately the best movie I've seen so far this year? No, and I think that’s an important distinction – but no one who grabs some popcorn and gets their butts into a theater seat this month is going to be disappointed. Kravitz should be proud of this first directorial effort, and I’m so enthusiastic about whatever comes next. Following the tumult with the cancelation of High Fidelity, it's cool to see her come into her own in a way that gives her control and feels sustainable in the long term.

In short, Blink Twice ate. Go see it.

In addition to the excitement over their upcoming horror-thriller, it would seem that Channing Tatum and Zoë Kravitz are also in the midst of planning a wedding, as Lenny Kravitz let it slip that he’d be walking his daughter down the aisle in 2025. The ab-tastic rockstar has had only good things to say about his future son-in-law, calling himself “blessed” to see his child so happy. According to Kravitz, Tatum is “a great guy” who fits into their family, and I just love seeing this bond between all three of them.

Now, Tatum admits that when Kravitz sent over the script for the moie (which originally bore the wild title Pussy Island), he had no idea she’d be directing him.

The celebrity couple looked like quite stunning amid their red carpet debut at the Blink Twice premiere in LA. In some ways, it's kind of funny to think that such a wild movie is what brought the now-engaged pair together. Tatum recently spoke to THR and recalled that he'd never met his eventual fiancée before they collaborated on the movie. And, based on his story, it does indeed seem that he had no idea that the Batman star was going to be at the helm:

It's honestly not hard to understand why the Magic Mike star was surprised. Given that Zoë Kravitz had never directed a feature film up to that point, he had no reason to assume that she'd be in the director's chair for this particular production. Despite the leading man's feelings of shock, though, the more recent comments he's shared definitely suggest that he's happy that his partner ultimately was at the helm.

Based on Blink Twice’s chilling trailer, prospective viewers are in for quite a ride. It sees Channing Tatum play a tech mogul, who takes a fancy to a cocktail waitress. He then invites her to a luxurious party on a remote island, where the proceedings become unsettling after one of the guests goes missing. The plot sounds wild, but the original Pussy Island title is also very out there. Later in his interview, Tatum referenced that moniker, when reflecting on his decision to get involved:

How incredibly beautiful it is to hear Channing Tatum speak highly of his future wife’s talents like this. A while ago, he gushed about the Big Little Lies actress “absolutely crushing it” when sharing a video of her working behind the camera. Tatum spoke sweetly about working with Zoë Kravitz, expressing his opinion that she did a better job as a first-time director than he did with his directorial debut, Dog.

Art is “the deepest expression of love,” as Zoë Kravitz describes it, and it seems that this rationale has permeated her relationship with her man. Channing Tatum said that he didn’t make any creative decisions on Blink Twice without considering his director’s opinion, showing how much respect and admiration he has for her. Love can certainly blossom in the most unusual of places, and that certainly seems to have been true for Kravitz and Tatum. I'd say that, in hindsight, it's a good thing Tatum did opt to join the movie -- despite not immediately knowing who would direct.

Kravitz’s audition for Selina Kyle/Catwoman was so impressive in the eyes of her co-star, Robert Pattinson, in fact, that he recently revealed that thought he was “going to be fired.”

Zoë Kravitz’s Catwoman is unique from other versions because of the emotional journey she goes through as her feline counterpart compared to the swift metamorphosis we've seen in other films. After the disappearance and murder of her roommate, Annika, Selina Kyle is driven to her personal quest for justice in the crime-ridden Gotham City. However, her methods of getting there cross moral lines compared to Bruce Wayne’s strict ethical code.

According to Esquire, the High Fidelity actress walked into The Batman audition room and stood in front of director Matt Reeves and Robert Pattinson with a confident vibe as if she already had the part. The Batman actor couldn’t believe his eyes watching what she brought to her anti-hero role and he thought he’d be stripped away from his own part:

Just like Selina Kyle is confident in her choices, it looks like the actress portraying the role brought out that same persona during her audition. No wonder she nailed it!

Zoë Kravitz previously tried to find her place in the world of Batman through The Dark Knight Rises. After auditioning for a small part in the Christopher Nolan film, she was told by someone else that she was “too urban” for what they envisioned. However, Matt Reeves saw something special in the Big Little Lies actress, loving her ideas and “thinking really deeply” about Catwoman.

Even though taking on the role of Catwoman was big shoes to fill, Zoë Kravitz was a great choice and a trooper for not letting DC fan pressure get to her. You better believe that the Dope actress fully committed to the legendary character, and she nailed it.

Her wild method of studying Catwoman included watching how cats and lions fought with The Batman’s stunt coordinator to get her feline fight movements down. Kravitz also confided on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon that she went full method actress, drinking milk out of a bowl to prepare. Now, that’s commitment!

The Blink Twice director expressed to Esquire that she was afraid her Catwoman role wouldn’t reach audiences or be well-received. However, both she and Pattinson have been praised for their portrayals of the beloved characters.

Along with her co-star speaking highly of her, her stepfather Jason Mamoa and fiancée Channing Tatum supported her at the premiere of the superhero flick. There was also a long list of celebrities stoked about her performance, including fellow Catwomen Michelle Pfeiffer and Halle Berry. With so many people loving the Mad Max: Fury Road actress in this role, I can only imagine the huge welcome back she’ll receive with her expected return in the sequel.

Zoë Kravitz must have given quite an impressive audition for co-star Robert Pattinson to think he’d be out of a job based on the stellar performance she gave in that room. I can’t say I blame him as Kravitz did a superb job illustrating Selina Kyle’s kickass style while also showing vulnerability to make her all the more relatable. The Fly Me to the Moon star’s comments also seem to signify just how much he’s come to depend on his partner in the years since they’ve been together. He and the Batman actress met on the set of Blink Twice in 2021 and eventually formed a relationship, which they mostly remained mum about. Though Channing Tatum did gush about his partner and her work habits a few years ago. Zoë Kravitz, who became engaged to Tatum around late 2023, also appreciates the opportunity to work with her beau. She conveyed as much when she spoke to E! during the premiere:

Surely, this will be an experience that the Fantastic Beasts alum and her man can cherish for years to come. On top of that, I’d say that Blink Twice is a very unique movie for them to have worked on together. The film (which was originally titled Pussy Island) centers on a cocktail waitress, who travels to a luxurious island owned by a tech mogul that she’s become attracted to. While the tropical paradise initially offers her beauty and excitement, the tide begins to turn after her friend vanishes. Among the ensemble cast are Naomi Ackie, Channing Tatum, Alia Shawkat, Christian Slater, Haley Joel Osment, Geena Davis and Kyle MacLachlan.

At this point, it would seem that the relationship between Zoë Kravitz and Channing Tatum is strong, and it may have just been strengthened by their movie collaboration. I can’t help but get the feeling this won’t be the last time that the future spouses team up for a big-screen production. And, considering how much they apparently loved working together this time around, who could blame them?

Originally called Pussy Island, Kravitz’s movie, which stars Naomi Ackie and Kravitz’s fiance Channing Tatum, is now called Blink Twice, and Kravitz has now explained why the title changed. And it's exactly the reason you think.

The title Pussy Island was meant to be provocative, that was the whole idea. At the same time, titling the movie that was going to require not simply putting the word on screen, but putting it all over as part of the film’s promotion. It seems that was the ultimate issue with the title. Zoë Kravitz certainly wanted her movie to have its original title, but at the end of the day, she had to balance the reality of the situation with her desires. Kravitz says she wanted the movie to use the word specifically because she wanted women to be able to “reclaim” it, but she has since discovered that women tended to have a bigger problem with the use of the word. She didn’t want the title to keep people from seeing the movie, so she agreed to change it. The actress continued…

The Blink Twice trailer promises a movie that is funny, terrifying, and clearly over the top. The title was likely designed to match that level of extremity. Unfortunately, reality got in the way.

Movie making is always a balance of art and business, and while it’s perhaps unfortunate that the film now has the somewhat mundane title Blink Twice, it is probably better for the film’s potential success. Pussy Island is an incredible title for a movie, though, perhaps someday audiences will be ready for it and somebody will be able to use it.
