Doom 4 Character Screenshots Leaked

One of my favorite gaming websites, DSO Gaming, happened upon some leaked screenshots of Doom 4, depicting the characters fresh out of ZBrush and going through some last minute modifications before making the hop into the id Tech 5 Engine.

You're probably asking, 'How can you tell it's for Doom 4'? Well, one of the screenshots accidentally shows the toolbar and Doom 4 is clearly visible on the toolbar as one of the open work documents. Based on the tab, it looks like a scripting tool maybe.

It's a little hard to tell exactly how the game will look, though, given that the characters aren't actually in the game nor is what you're about to see even in the id Tech 5 Engine runtime environment, so basically you'll just have to judge it based on how the basic lighting, model and texture work appeals to your artistic senses.

One thing worth noting is that one of the characters, tentatively named Villa looks like a dead ringer for popular Mexican film star, Danny Trejo. In the screenshots he's the guy in the leather getup with the goggles and hoody on.

Based on these leaked photos the character graphics fidelity looks about on par to a standard Xbox 360 or PS3 title, so it's safe to assume that Doom 4 is definitely being designed with the current generation consoles in mind. Depending on how you feel about the aging hardware of the near seven year old Xbox 360 and six year old PS3 will make or break your excitement levels for the game.

You can check out the new screenshots for the game below or pay a visit to DSO Gaming to check out their entire cache of screenshots.
