Mad Catz Tritton Pro+ 5.1 Surround Sound Headset Now Shipping

Unveiled at this year's E3, the Mad Catz Tritton Pro+ 5.1 Surround Sound headset set the world ablaze with positivity and excitement and now Mad Catz has announced that their new headset has launched for the not-so-cheap price of $129.99 for both PC and Mac.

The device recently received an unboxing video to let people know that it's shipping and that you'll be able to get your hands on the new Tritton soon enough. You can check out the video below.

The headset offers all the sexy surround sound audio that you've come to love from the Tritton brand but made at a moderate price for less than the 7.1 Dolby Digital headsets.

The Tritton Pro+ 5.1 sports four separate drivers in each ear cup, a separate in-line remote for fine-tuning the audio, Selectable Voice Monitoring so you can hear how you sound when you speak into the mic. They don't bullet-point a feature for noise canceling, but I would like to believe that it's safe to assume it's a standard feature included in the headset.

Darren Richardson, President and Chief Executive Officer of Mad Catz commented about the new headset, saying...

“The TRITTON Pro + headset received a warm reception with the passionate gamers at E3 thanks to its advanced feature set and multiple speakers, delivering highly accurate sound separation, ideal for online gaming,"... “We believe the TRITTON Pro+ for Windows PC and Mac will enable us to further diversify our platform base within the high-end audio category.”

The good news is that competition isn't necessarily all that stiff in the headset category... yeah there's Turtlebeach and Steel Series, but it's not too difficult to find a decent headset at a reasonable price and stick with it until the wires wear thin. Now gamepads, mice and controllers? That's a stiff category right there.

There are a few images you can check out for the Tritton Pro+ 5.1 if you want to scope out a color set that best suits your ear-accessory needs.

The Pro+ 5.1 is currently shipping out for $129.99 in the U.S., and Canada. You can learn more about the new headset from Mad Catz by paying a visit to their official website.
