The PC version of Mortal Kombat is pretty rad, in fact, it runs rings around its original console ports for a number of reasons. First of all, the PC rendition gets all of the DLC previously released for consoles, for free! That's right, the game includes Freddy Krueger, Kenshi, Skarlet and Rain without any additional downloads or purchasing fees. The PC edition also includes 15 Klassic costumes for the characters on the roster and three Klassic fatalities for the most recognized Mortal Kombat icons, including Sub-Zero, Reptile and Scorpion. That's not to mention modding possibilities for skins, model replacements and move edits, similar to Street Fighter IV on PC.

This is pretty good news for anyone who didn't want to wait an extra month to get their hands on this prime-time fighting game. The base game also includes a new and improved King of the Hill mode, classic 1-on-1 fights, tournament bouts, challenge tower and even the loved and highly praised tag-team mode, complete with multiplayer support. That's not to mention that there's a full-length story mode that rolls out all the details for the story that spans the first few Mortal Kombat games.

You can look for the game to launch this week on Steam or if you like taking the long anticipated journey to your local retailer, you can look for Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition to arrive at the brick and mortar outlets this August.
