Star Wars: Trench Run Screenshots, Tech Trailer Released

Some talented nerds with enough time on their hands decided to make a game in CryEngine 2 called Star Wars: Trench Run. Some alpha screenshots and a test trailer were released to give gamers an idea of what to expect from the upcoming total conversion mod and it doesn't look half bad.

German site PC Games spotted the new media content for the upcoming mod and the game appears to be what a new generation X-Wing or Tie-Fighter could be like. It's such a shame that we have so few games exploring diverse genres these days but I guess that's what the indie community and modders are for, eh?

The physics are a little wonky and of course the blaster fire needs some adjustments. However, I love, love, love the backdrops. The Star Destroyer physics look legit and the scope and scale is both imposing and natural.

Unfortunately, the YouTube video doesn't do a lot of justice to the mod's visual fidelity. The HQ screenshots really showcase much more detailed and workable textures and model quality.

There's no telling if this mod will actually see the light of day or if it'll be hit with some cease and desisting from those kind and supporting folks over at LucasArts.

You can scope out even more screenshots of 7oxic's mod by visiting the modder's photo album.
