San Diego Comic-Con 2018's Cosplayers Did Not Disappoint

Some people go to Comic-Con for the panels. Some people go for the autograph signings. Others just want to be around the event itself, but perhaps the most famous group of attendees are the cosplayers. And this year, they have not disappointed. We sent a cameraperson around the convention center to take pictures of the best getups they saw, and wow, they did not disappoint.

We'll go through a few of our favorites here, and you can check out the rest in the image gallery at the bottom of the page.

For meow, let's start with this dude above dressed up as Ramathorn from Super Troopers. This is a good reminder that the best cosplay is all about the details. Clearly, the guy has the right cop outfit and most importantly, the mustache, but it's the syrup that takes it all to another level. Also, extra points for that fake serious look on his face that takes it all to another level.

This next one gets major points for theatricality, accuracy, and effort. The Little Mermaid's vivacious villain Ursula has been a fan favorite character for decades, but this is some next level cosplaying. Rather than simply applying liberal purple makeup and a white wig, the above Ursula is constructed through serious prosthesis and likely many hours of work. This Ursula is terrifying and realistic, and you can tell she never underestimates the importance of body language.

What a pair of demons. Literally. This cosplaying couple dressed up as Pennywise the Clown from IT-- an extremely popular costume choice in the wake of the remake's massive success. Anticipation for Chapter 2 is at an all time high, with early footage of the new adult cast debuting at SDCC. These cosplayers combined the old and new, bringing both the original Tim Curry of Pennywise and Bill Skarsgard's recent version to Comic-Con floor. You'll float, too.... now with double the terror.
