Aykroyd To Guest On The Defenders

Dan Aykroyd is a busy man. With his work on the upcoming Ghostbusters III in full swing and promotion to do for his Justin Timberlake animated collaboration Yogi Bear, one would think the former Saturday Night Live star would find a break in his schedule. Turns out that's not the case. The fifty-eight year old has just singed on for a special guest arc on Jim Belushi's new CBS show The Defenders.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Aykroyd will play a judge in need of a little help on two episodes early next year. The former Blues Brother knows Jim Belushi quite well from working with his brother. In fact, Danny and John were once thick as thieves. Word is John desperately wanted to leave Saturday Night Live in 1979 but refused to announce it until Dan said he'd go with him.

The Defenders debuted earlier this year to better than expected numbers and was quickly picked up for a full season. It stars the aforementioned Jim Belushi, as well as Jerry O'Connell. New episodes air on Wednesday evening at 10 EST on CBS.
