Just last night I was saying that I sort of wish Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. would take a break from the Rising Tide/Skye-double-agent story for a little bit and let us get to know Skye a bit better as a person. But looking at the preview for next Tuesday night's "Girl in the Flower Dress," it looks like the series may be taking the exact opposite approach in addressing Skye's secret. Is it possible that Skye's about to be exposed as a traitor?
I'm actually not going to complain about that if it turns out to be true. Digging out that plot and letting it play out sooner rather than later would be another way to resolve this issue without wrecking any chance for us to actually like this girl down the line. During my mini-rant about the Rising Tide plot in last night's recap, I pointed out that Joss Whedon's actually pretty great at turning nuisances and villains into good-guys over time. The whole "redemption" theme is a big one for him. My issue with Skye is that her sneakiness is making me dislike her and separate her from the rest of the characters, which makes it hard to see her redeeming qualities, as we're constantly being reminded that she can't be trusted. Last night's episode took a break from Rising Tide and I actually found myself liking Skye, which made me care about what happens to her, which I think adds value to the Rising Tide plot in the long run. But if the above preview is any indication, maybe Coulson's about to see her for what she really is, and if that's the case, then we can hopefully get on with the redemption part of Skye's story. That works for me just as well. Of course, it's also possible that whatever Coulson discovers about Skye isn't directly related to Rising Tide, and the teaser's just messing with us. Patience is a virtue, I guess.

By "an unusual and dangerous power" do you think they mean he can manipulate fire? Assuming the description is referencing the Pyro-guy in the preview, that seems to line up.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. airs Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. Et on ABC.
