Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. Episode 6, FZZT Preview: They Become The Prey

It’s a shame we have to wait two weeks for the next episode of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., as next week’s episode looks like it’s full of terror, and would probably make for a pretty great Halloween episode. Alas, “FZZT” doesn’t air until November, while the pilot episode will re-broadcast next Tuesday night. With November on the horizon, this scheduling arrangement may have something to do with sweeps.

Here’s the episode description for “F.Z.Z.T.”:

“F.Z.Z.T.” – When floating bodies turn up, Coulson and the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D must hunt down an elusive killer. No one is safe -- not even the team, on “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., ”TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 5 (8:00-9:01 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.Guest starring are Titus Welliver as Agent Blake, Vincent Laresca as Tony Diaz, Robert Maffia as Baker, David Michael Paul as Justin, Rick Gifford as Adam Cross, Thomas Robie as scout #1, Trevor Larcom as scout #2, Caleb Burgess as scout #3, Jake Brennan as scout #4 and Troy Glass as scout #5.

This one sounds like an exciting episode, and the implication that no one is safe certainly raises the stakes. Though that’s probably applicable to other baddies and plane-related catastrophes in this series, the fact that the description points it out and the trailer includes the words "They become the prey," it seems like Coulson's group may be directly targeted by this particular villain.

I wasn’t shy in sharing my lack of appreciation for Skye’s story in last night’s episode, and after sleeping on it, my opinions still stand. I’m not a fan of the Rising Tide plot. But if there’s one good thing about that arc in last night’s “The Girl in the Flower Dress,” it’s that it seems like the secret-spy stuff may have been put to rest, at least for now. And I’m hoping we’ll see a more united group going forward, which is a good thing. I’m also hopeful that with Skye’s secret out, the series can focus a bit more on letting us get to know some of the other characters on a more individual basis. I’d like to know just about anything about Fitz, Simmons and Ward that isn’t entirely related to their jobs. Of course, I may be getting impatient here. We’re only on Episode 6, after all. And good character development takes time. So I’ll wait and trust that we’re going to get to know these characters better in time.

There are quite a few photos of Fitz and Simmons for “F.Z.Z.T.” Check them out in the gallery below!
