The Office Preview: The Sting - Timothy Olyphant Guest Stars

This week on The Office Timothy Olyphant (Deadwood, Justified) will guest star. We have some clips from the episode, which looks like a funny one.

I think this is just what The Office needs. I’m not talking about Olyphant’s appearance. While I’m certainly not complaining about the Justified star sauntering into Dunder Mifflin, this season’s felt off and I love that the premise for this ep is somewhat work-centered.

Below is NBC’s description for the episode and further down are some clips.

“THE STING (TV-PG) - MICHAEL TAKES MATTERS INTO HIS OWN HANDS WHEN SOMEONE STARTS STEALING CLIENTS—TIMOTHY OLYPHANT (Deadwood) GUEST STARS—When a competing sales associate (guest star Timothy Olyphant) steals a Dunder Mifflin client, Michael (Golden Globe winner Steve Carell), Jim (John Krasinski) and Dwight (Rainn Wilson) decide to set up a sting to find out his sales secrets. Andy (Ed Helms) decides to start a band after finding out a friend from college has a successful music career.”

I love this first one because it totally captures Jim and Pam’s relationship as it is now. Gone is the sweet, subtly flirtiness and in its place, a sort of settled-in ribbing that’s funny and without any kind of uncomfortable tension.

The Stinger

Celebrity sighting! Michael’s mug!

Now, for some actual uncomfortable tension… Would we expect anything less from Meredith?

And, as a bonus, if you and a peek at what the Dunder Mifflin staff members will be wearing for the Halloween episode, check out the photos in the gallery below!

The Office airs on Thursday nights at 9:00 p.m. ET on NBC.
