Every so often screenshots, trailers or promotional media content surfaces for games that some of us Westerners will just never get locally, whether it be Stateside or Across the Pond. Atelier Escha & Logy might be one of those games, as new screenshots have surfaced showing off the lovely and engaging JRPG in action.

The new screenshots, released by Gust, come courtesy of Dual Shockers, where we get to see some brand new characters on display and some of the amazing gameplay in still action. In some regards, seeing games like Atelier Escha & Logy reminds us that current-gen consoles can still be used for great gaming experiences, but it's always the offbeat, lower-budget titles either foreign or from indie studios that point at such reminders.

The game sees players in an alternate universe that houses a grand fantastic adventure, SNES-style. The game's real meat and potatoes is in the alchemy-based battle system, which borrows a lot from Final Fantasy V's Chemist job.

The game is pretty neat insofar that players can mix, match and combine elements to battle opponents to the victory line. The battle style seems to transition back to the hey-day of RP gaming when it wasn't all about $68 million dollar graphics and bloated marketing budgets to match *cough*Final Fantasy XIII*cough*

Atelier Escha & Logy: Alchemist of Dusk is set for release for this summer on June 27th. Gamers who were probably fond of recent niche titles like Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch or Nier will probably get a kick out of Atelier Escha & Logy. You can check out the screenshots below.
