Super Meat Boy Dev Says They Won't Work With Microsoft Again

Team Meat, now known for their widely popular PC and Xbox Live Arcade title, Super Meat Boy, has openly dissed Microsoft. That’s right, joining Sony on the mudslinging wagon, the developer says they won’t be working on the 360 or with Microsoft again.

The story comes courtesy of Develop, who interviewed co-founder, Edmund McMillen. He confessed that the commercial partnership between Team Meat and Microsoft is over...

“I don't think we'll work with them [Microsoft] ever again,”… “We've not had one [discount] sale [on Xbox] since our initial launch, and I don't know if that's going to happen,”…“Whenever we ask, and we actively ask monthly if we can be included in a sale or get any kind of promotion, they say no.”

Basically, they refuse to work with Microsoft again unless they get a little bit more creative and marketing control, but I doubt that’s going to happen. Edmund also admitted that no one at Microsoft seemed to care and only one producer helped them out during the transition of getting the game on the Live Arcade.

This is just another of the many surmounting public-bash sessions on Microsoft and the Xbox platform, following in the footsteps of Sony and Valve’s Gabe Newell. Even Ubisoft acquiesced that the current generation consoles have been limiting to their creative visions.

A few readers believe that Team Meat burned some bridges going public about Microsoft’s practices and/or lack of support, while other readers tend to think that it serves the industry well to public put Microsoft on the spot for bad business practice.
