The Cave Introduces Characters In New Trailer
Double Fine's latest game, The Cave, looks to mix dark humor with glorious puzzles and exciting exploration in early 2013 and, thanks to the newly released character reveal trailer, we can now get to know a few of the playable characters who will be braving the depths of a talking geological structure. Yes, the cave talks.
The first of a two-part series, this latest trailer for The Cave offers up details on four of the game's seven main characters. Journey deeper, dear reader, to learn more about the Hillbilly, the Scientist, the Monk and the Twins.
It looks like pretty much everyone who visits the titular cave has death in their eyes, and I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that the sentient cave has similar plans in store for each of our devious heroes.
There are only three characters left to reveal when part two of this trailer series drops and, judging by a our brief glimpse of the cast, I'm going to go ahead and start calling them the Knight, the Pilot and the dude with glowy things on his suit.
The Cave gives me a serious Eternal Darkness vibe, which has me more or less doing joy-backflips in anticipation. I love the idea of multiple characters throughout history interacting with the same location and, I'm guessing, somehow having an impact on each others experiences.
As for us players, we don't have much longer to wait in order to see what devious wonders The Cave has in store for us. Look for it to hit PC and consoles in January of next year.
