The first downloadable content for the Xbox 360 shooter Gears of War: Judgment is now available for download. The DLC, sponsored by Maxim, is free to download by all players for a limited time.
The DLC pack provides a mode called Execution. Each team attempts to wipe out the other before time runs out. To fully kill an enemy, you have to use a one-shot kill weapon or perform an execution on them. Otherwise, they'll be revived after their bleed-out timer ends.
The new mode is accompanied by a new map, Haven. Haven takes place at a snow-covered monastery deep in the mountains. Screenshots of the map are below.
Both Haven and the Execution mode are available in special playlists. These playlists will provide twice as much experience for a limited amount of time. If you own the Season Pass, these experience gains will be triple instead.
There's no mention of how long the XP boost will last, or how long the DLC will remain free. Best to take advantage while you can if you already own Judgment, though. Epic Games notes on their forum that you have to download the DLC directly through the Xbox 360 dashboard or add it to your queue on Xbox.com. The in-game prompt apparently isn't functioning properly at the moment.
