2K And Firaxis Announce Sid Meier's Ace Patrol For iOS

With Haunted Hollow due out tomorrow (as of the writing of this article) for iOS, Firaxis isn't leaving the mobile landscape alone and they're already primed and ready for their next mobile venture in the form of Sid Meier's Ace Patrol.

As noted in the press release...

Firaxis is proud to add Sid Meier’s Ace Patrol to their growing lineup of mobile games, which will soon also include the highly anticipated Haunted Hollow and XCOM: Enemy Unknown

That's right, Firaxis is head over heels for the whole mobile thing, and they are bringing XCOM to mobile devices as well, using it as a precursor for the upcoming The Bureau: XCOM Declassified. That was a horrible segue, but whatever...vidya gaemz blogger pagehit fishing.

Anyway, Firaxis' Sid Meier's Ace Patrol is an aerial strategy game...yes, you will strategically take the fight to opponents using airplanes. That's certainly a different take on the turn-based strategy genre. Players will have 120 missions to undertake and more than 30 authentic World War II aircraft at their disposal.

What's more is that Firaxis is going old-school with hot-seat asynchronous multiplayer modes, bringing back a little bit of that old-school competitive flavor from the hey-day of PC gaming.

You can learn more about the game, due out soon for iOS devices, by paying a visit to the official website.
