EA Has No Games In Development For Wii U

That Origin thing really hit EA's pride hard. The company has extended their ingratitude towards Nintendo tenfold since the Big 'N' wouldn't let EA control the Nintendo Network with Origin's network code and openly stated that they have no games in development for the Wii U. Ouch.

After confirming that this year's Madden NFL would not be coming to the Wii U, the first ever instance that a Nintendo platform would not receive the football game in more than two decades, EA has no followed it up by stating that they have no games planned for the Nintendo console either.

Speaking with Kotaku, EA's chief spokesperson, Jeff Brown, commented about the partnership (or lack thereof) with the Big 'N', saying...

"We have no games in development for the Wii U currently,""I’ve been with the company long time and we have never been better positioned for the launch of new technology, either mobile or console,"

If this is shocking to you, you haven't been keeping up with all the juicy gossip in the politically fueled video game arena.

Preceding these unsurprising comments from Brown, EA previously had DICE acknowledge that NONE of the new Frostbite 3.0 Star Wars games would be coming to the Wii U. Prior to that, Crytek acknowledged that Crysis 3 for Wii U was just about to go gold before the executives at Electronic Arts pulled the plug on the entire thing due to complications in business support.

EA is definitely playing hard ball with Nintendo for the company not taking on their trash networking system and it's such a sad thing to see. Origin hasn't really garnered a lot of positive reactions from the community, even though the service itself is passably operable. What's more is that EA hasn't said that they won't ever support the Wii U, they just aren't supporting it right now or anytime into the foreseeable near future. Don't be surprised if that tune changes once Nintendo forcefully breaks the 10 million barrier with the Wii U's install base.

Thankfully, the success or failure of the Wii U does not hinge upon the fickle support of third-party publishers, and will mostly kneel to however Nintendo breaches the market with their upcoming first-party titles.
