E3 2013: Mirror's Edge 2 Announced With Debut Trailer

Running on DICE's Frostbite 3 engine and containing next-generation visuals and gameplay mechanics, the game that many people have been clamoring to see a sequel for is finally getting its sequel...that's right, Mirror's Edge 2 has officially been announced along with a cool new debut trailer.

After being outed by Amazon, Mirror's Edge 2 hasn't received any big info buckets yet but they're coming soon. For now, DICE confirmed during EA's E3 2013 conference that the free-running, femme-fatale, parkour-style, clean and pristine, cityscape scaling first-person adventure game would be arriving for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

The game sees players re-assuming the role of Faith, everyone's favorite fictional parkour artist next to Ezio, and she's got one glove and two feet ready to kick butt and take names.

Thankfully, the artistic design scheme of Mirror's Edge 2 has stayed exactly the same as the first game. I'm just hoping that the team doesn't sacrifice any of the hard-edged platforming challenges and combat for some easy-peasy QTE combat mess and simple-as-pie environmental scaling. One of the cool parts about Mirror's Edge was just how dynamic and difficult the game was and it really made you feel like it was a challenge worth overcoming.

We can expect to see Mirror's Edge whenever DICE and EA roll out an official release date. For now, you can hover over EA's official website to potentially learn more.
