World Of Tanks Xbox 360 Beta Registration Begins

World of Tanks is steadily rolling towards release on the Xbox family of consoles, beginning with an impending beta for the Xbox 360 version of the game.

During Microsoft’s Xbox press conference held at the start of last week’s E3 extravaganza, it was announced that Wargaming would be bringing its highly popular real time vehicular battle game, World of Tanks to both the Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Wargaming later confirmed that news with an announcement of its own, leaving would-be drivers chomping at the bit in anticipation to try out this formerly PC-only game on a home console.

According to an announcement on the Major Nelson blog this morning, the time is nearly upon us to take the tanks for a spin as Wargaming announces a registration period for the 360 version of the game’s beta.

World of Tanks comes to Xbox 360 with the custom built version of the global online multiplayer phenomenon dedicated to tank warfare in the mid-20th century,” reads the beta announcement. “Command some of history’s most powerful tanks and experience intense combat where the excitement of battle is enhanced by working together with your tank platoon to win the fight.”

No word yet on when the beta will go live, but the sign-up process looks to be an easy one. Just fill in a few of the standard fields and you’re ready to roll. One small catch, however. Surprising no one, you will need to be an Xbox Gold subscriber to be able to play the beta.
