Hotline Miami Busts Into PlayStation 3, Vita Next Week

For those of you who “like to hurt people,” the tams at Dennaton Games, Abstration Games and Devolver Digital are serving up a heaping helping of whoopass next Tursday, June 25, when Hotline Miami finally arrives on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.

Originally a PC hit, Hotline Miami puts players in the role of a 1980’s hitman tasked with breaking into various locations and pretty much mowing down anything that moves. It’s a twitch-based action shooter shown from a top-down perspective and topped off with a classic aesthetic. In short: It’s a tough-as-nails, one of a kind experience that will finally be unleashed on a wider audience.

Devolver Digital’s Nigel Lowrie made the news official over on the PlayStation Blog, saying this latest version of the game has come together quite nicely.

“Dennaton Games, Abstraction Games and Devolver Digital have worked incredibly hard to reproduce the fast-paced gameplay and super tight controls of the original game, and we couldn’t be happier with how Hotline Miami plays on the PS3 and PS Vita,” Lowrie said.

These latest versions of the game will come with a few bonus features, too, including a “Russel the raging bull” mask that turns the entire game black and white for a “classic movie feel,” new upgrades, leaderboards, Trophies and touch support for the Vita version of the game.

And the best news yet? Hotline Miami will be $9.99 on Sony’s consoles and sell as a cross-buy game, meaning one purchase earns you a copy of the game for both the PS3 and Vita.
