Batman: Arkham Origins Screenshots Confirm Lady Shiva, Killer Croc

The final two assassins appearing in Batman: Arkham Origins have apparently been revealed. Two new screenshots confirm Killer Croc and Shiva's inclusion in the open-world Batman game.

Killer Croc, also known as Waylon Jones, is afflicted by a rare condition that has warped his appearance. He looks like an enormous alligator/human hybrid. This deformity has its advantages; he possesses superhuman strength and speed. His hardened skin can shrug off many attacks and repair itself at a fast rate. As a result, Batman has to fight Croc in unorthodox ways.

Unlike Croc, Lady Shiva didn't appear in Arkham Asylum or Arkham City. Shiva is a feared assassin from parts unknown. In the comics, she occasionally worked with Ra's al Ghul's League of Assassins. Shiva doesn't have any superpowers but is considered one of the best martial artists in the DC Universe. Batman, no slouch himself at hand-to-hand combat, will probably have to defeat her in a one-on-one duel. One of the game's Achievements challenges you to beat her without getting hit once.

Batman: Arkham Origins takes place before the events of Arkham Asylum and Arkham City. Crime boss Black Mask has put out a huge bounty on Batman's head. Eight assassins come to Gotham to collect the prize. Previous trailers and screenshots confirmed that the other assassins are Deathstroke, Deadshot, Copperhead, Bane, Electrocutioner and Firefly.

WB Games Montreal isn't stopped with eight villains, though. Other rogues appearing in the game include the Joker, the Mad Hatter, Anarky and the Penguin. It's likely that some of these characters are merely relegated to cameos, though. For example, Mad Hatter is the subject of a trippy side mission. The eight assassins, and maybe Black Mask, might be the only proper boss fights in the game.

Arkham Origins will launch worldwide on the Xbox 360, PS3, PC and Wii U on October 25th. The game is accompanied by separate mobile and handheld titles.
