GTA 5 Online Hipster Update Launches On Xbox 360 And PS3

GTA Online Hipster Update

Rockstar Games unexpectedly release Title Update 1.14 for GTA 5 today. The update, dubbed "I'm Not A Hipster," provides a range of new content for multiplayer component GTA Online.

"Express your incredible individualism and stand out from the herd with The post ironic, artisanal, organic, entirely independent, 100% re-claimed “I’m Not a Hipster” Update now available for Grand Theft Auto Online," says a new post on Rockstar Newswire. "This new content update features new retro print tees, skinny jeans, hairstyles, tattoos, animal masks and more, as well as additional enhancements to general gameplay to ensure the world is constantly evolving."

Seven vehicles are included in the Hipster Update. They range from classic cars like the Glendale and Warrener to shiny new eco-friendly rides like the Pantomicrocar. Players at Rank 100 can purchase the 6-seater Dubsta, a huge jeep perfect for group excursions. You can customize these rides with new Pure Gold and Brushed Gold paint colors, also unlockable at Rank 100. Screenshots of the new vehicles are below along with a look at some of the new costume options.

Speaking of cars, the following ten vehicles from Story Mode can now be purchased through southernsanandreassuperautos.com in multiplayer:

  • Albany Primo
  • BF Surfer
  • Bravado Buffalo
  • Franklin's Bravado Buffalo S
  • Bravado Youga
  • Cheval Picador
  • Dundreary Regina
  • Trevor's Karin Rebel (clean version)
  • Trevor's Nagasaki Hot Rod Blazer
  • Michael's Obey Tailgater

Ammu-Nation, meanwhile, has been stocked with new weapons. Stop by any Ammu-Nation location in GTA Online to pick up a Vintage Pistol or Antique Cavalry Dagger. They might not be the most powerful weapons out there but they sure are fashionable.

Rounding out the Hipster Update are 12 new Jobs. They include Races, Deathmatches and Capture Jobs. The new Jobs have appropriately hipster names, like " Before It Was Cool" and "Trend Setting."

Title Update 1.14 brings many tweaks and fixes to the game as well. Tear Gas' damage and duration have been increased. Four-wheel drive vehicles won't become two-wheel drive. The difficulty level can be displayed during a Mission by pushing the down button your D-pad. The full list of changes can be found at the Rockstar Support site.

You can download the I'm Not A Hipster Update simply by logging into GTA 5. You'll be asked to download the update upon entering the game. Xbox 360 owners will also have to download a compatibility pack when they jump into GTA Online.

While I'm sure many GTA Online players are happy to get this unexpected new content, I'm sure they would've preferred a different type of content: heists. Rockstar said that co-op heists would be added to the game this Spring but hasn't given a release date for them yet. With the current monthly pace of updates, the heists may not be coming until July at the earliest.
