Dishonored Remake Coming To PS4 And Xbox One?

Well, just about every other noteworthy game towards the end of the Xbox 360 and PS3 lifecycle is getting the remastered treatment, so why not Dishonored? The Gothic-magic game with stealth and assassinations being the driving forces behind the game, could be re-released on the Xbox One and PS4.

Twitter newshound Wario64 dropped this bit of a news bomb on his followers:

The Brazilian ratings board has the game listed on their official ratings classification site for the ministry of justice, and the game has Bethesda as the publisher with a 2015 release date. How accurate is this? Well, just recently the Brazilian ratings board was also responsible for outing Gears of War: Ultimate Edition. Of course, there's no real way to know for sure if that's a bogus listing or if it's legitimate.

Given my lack of experience and interaction with the Brazilian ratings system it's hard to tell how accurate they are when it comes to listing games and potentially listing something that isn't just a placeholder for something else.

Even still, Dishonored: Definitive Edition could be a real possibility. In Gaming Blend's list of games that we would love to see make an appearance at this year's E3, Dishonored 2 was one of those games that made the list. However, if Bethesda is opting to do a remake of the 2012 first-person shooter, it's not surprising that in a way Dishonored would be making an appearance at E3 just not in the way that some people think.

The game kind of stood out from the rest of the crowd when it was originally promoted as a sort of first-person, arcane magic rendition of Assassin's Creed. Many comparisons were made between Corvo and Ezio, with most people instantly claiming that Corvo would easily kill the Renaissance assassin. The ability to slow down time, bend time or turn invisible usually made Corvo's foes easy fodder.

The game's mix of magic, projectile weapons and melee combat made it a rarity amongst many other games out there and also had gamers highly disappointed with the reboot of Thief, which some felt fell flat in comparison to the creative design scope of Dishonored.

If Bethesda really is intent on re-releasing the three-year-old game for the Xbox One and PS4 and if it turns out to be one of the titles showcased during their E3 stage conference, then I'm pretty sure we can safely assume a 1080p (or 900p) resolution bump and the standard 60fps upgrade. Now all we have to do is wait for the official announcement.
