The Dungeon & Fighter Trailer Is Action Packed And Awesome

Nexon and Neople released a new gameplay trailer for their mobile game Dungeon & Fighter, not to be confused with the other free-to-play game Dungeon Fighter. The trailer for the game is action packed and pretty awesome to be for a mobile game.

The trailer was recently posted up on the Steparu YouTube channel, featuring just over a minute and a half worth of gameplay footage. It starts with a cool cinematic sequence showing the game's multiple character classes, hacking and slashing their way through enemies- typical of an old-school PS2 cinematic. It then transitions into the actual gameplay, which consists of 3D characters in hand-drawn 2D backdrops, where players will fight through hordes of enemies in fast-paced beat-'em-up action.

If you're already familiar with games like Dungeon Fighter Online, which is available for PC right now as a free-to-play title (it's also designed by Neople and published by Nexon), then you're likely already familiar with how the new Dungeon & Fighter mobile beat-'em-up works.

The Ghost type has a large sword, quick combos that can lift multiple enemies off their feet at a time, and powerful slashing attacks that can strike down foes in a single line. The Fighter class has fast-paced melee attacks and combos that can be dispensed against foes on all sides. She uses her hands and feet to deal damage, and has mines and other AOE poison attacks to whittle down enemy forces.

Just like Dungeon Fighter Online, there's also a gunner class who can be used to fire an assortment of high-impact moves against enemies, including a giant, multi-laser cannon. Some of her weapons look like they come out of Ratchet & Clank. She also has a giant mech that she can call into battle to fight for her, not unlike D.Va in Overwatch.

The Mage class is the typical magic user you would expect to see in a game like this. He uses chain-magic attacks and combinations to take out enemies on all sides. In order to keep the attacks in check, they have cooldowns on a countdown that you can scope out on the right side of the screen after every use.

Each character class gets four main special attacks that they can use, and alternating between those special attacks and their normals will allow players to chain together long combos that would make the top-tier players in Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 jealous.

There's a brief boss fight that makes its way into the trailer, where the characters must attack his hands in order to do damage to the rest of him. It's similar to the boss fight in Sonic & Knuckles on the Death Egg.

They don't roll out a release date for the game but people in the comment section are already saying that it's the sort of game that needs to come to the Nintendo Switch. To be honest, I think it would be a perfect fit for Nintendo's new hybrid console.

Expect to hear more about the game as it preps for release on mobile devices.
