How To Reveal Shadow Of The Tomb Raider Details Early

New details for Shadow of the Tomb Raider will be revealed over the coming weeks. For those who want to get the scoop a bit early, though, you can play a weekly mini-game to earn details and even a chance to fly to Montreal, LA or London for the full Tomb Raider showcase on April 27.

Since Tomb Raider is all about solving puzzles and whatnot, the folks at Square Enix have decided to host a promotion that keeps with that tradition, encouraging players to enjoy a weekly puzzle in order to learn bits and pieces of information pertaining to the new upcoming game, Shadow of the Tomb Raider.

The first puzzle for the next entry in the Tomb Raider series was solved prematurely last week, and it wasn't actually a puzzle anyone was supposed to be solving in the first place. The series' website boasted a teaser for Croft-related news to be revealed within a couple of days but, before that could happen, folks took a gander at the site's HTML and discovered not only the name of the new Tomb Raider game early, but also the fact that the game will launch this Sept. 14. There was also reference to some sort of puzzle within that code, and now we know exactly what it was referencing.

Heading into the weekend, a teaser trailer for the new Tomb Raider was launched and, as of now, you can actually work on that puzzle we were just talking about. All you have to do is head to the game's official website, click on the "Let's play the puzzle," button at the bottom of the page, and get to work.

According to the announcement, the puzzle is being called the "Path of the Stars," and working through each one will reveal exclusive "clues" about what to expect in Lara Croft's next game. Square Enix will launch a new puzzle each Monday, leading up to the official reveal on April 27. Folks may end up figuring things out along the way but, if not, it sounds like the big reveal will answer any lingering questions.

As an added bonus, anyone who completes the first level of the puzzle by March 26 will be entered for a chance to win a trip to the Shadow of the Tomb Raider reveal event. The winner will get to bring a friend along for the ride, and they'll even get to pick if they want to go to Montreal, LA or London to take part. As an added bonus, winners will get some hands-on time with the game, as well as an opportunity to chat up the developers.

In case you want to stack the odds, victory on each puzzle will grant the opportunity to share the game's teaser trailer on social media up to six times. Each time you do that, you'll receive another entry in the contest for a chance to win the grand prize trip.
