Nintendo's PAX East Line-Up Includes Dark Souls, No More Heroes

Nintendo will be attending this weekend's PAX East event set to take place in Boston, Massachusetts, where the company will showcase a number of recently released games and some of the highly anticipated games due out later this year for the Nintendo Switch, including Dark Souls and No More Heroes.

The news was rolled out over on the official Nintendo website, where the company announced that the Nintendo booth will be chock full of games, including Bandai Namco's Dark Souls: Remastered for the Nintendo Switch. This is a game that's been highly anticipated for the Switch given that the game series has already been out for years on PC and home consoles. Bandai is re-releasing the original Dark Souls as a remastered edition with HD and UHD support for HD consoles like the Switch and UHD-supporting consoles like the Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro.

Bethesda and Machine Games' Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus will also be on display for the Switch, which is set to release at some point this year. The game was originally announced back in fall of 2017 for the Switch, but Bethesda has been keeping it under wraps since then. Gamers will be able to see it in action at PAX East this weekend.

The Wii U port-over with HD functionality and optimization for portability, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, is also going to be in attendance. The game originally came out during the Wii U's downtime when it was struggling on the market, but Nintendo decided to give it a second chance by porting it to the Nintendo Switch, which might give the game the sort of shelf life it never quite reached when it was first released on the Wii U.

Another Wii U game that's getting re-released as a Nintendo Switch outing is Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition, which will give gamers a Dynasty Warriors-style fix for the Switch. It's interesting that Nintendo is looking to possibly bolster sales for various original Wii U titles that didn't quite sell so well when they first released. The definitive edition of Hyrule Warriors features all the previously released DLC, along with improved playability and all of the updates released during the game's time on the market.

Last but not least is Sushi Strike: The Way of Sushido. This is an action-puzzle game of sorts for both the Nintendo 3DS and the Nintendo Switch. The game was recently unveiled during a Nintendo Direct, where the player must battle against others using a sushi buffet.

In addition to the new and upcoming games due out for the Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo 3DS, there will also be a number of Nindies on display, many of the same ones that were rolled out during the March 20th Nintendo Direct.

Also, Nintendo will be hosting competitions for some of their PvP-oriented games, such as Splatoon 2 and ARMS. Mini-game challenges will also be available for Super Mario Odyssey, along with speed runs for Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze. Nintendo will be on hand at PAX East between April 5th and April 8th.
