Wolfenstein Gets August Release Date

Activision announced the release date of the next-gen Wolfenstein today and it seems the game will arrive in stores not in this unexpectedly crowded month of June or in the dogpile of October/November. Nope, it's going to be released in the lull in between those two periods.

August 4th is D-Day for the World War II supernatural shooter (thanks, Shack). It seems the game will hit all three platforms (PC, Xbox 360, PS3) simultaneously. It's apparently also the 65th anniversary of the day that the Nazis found Anne Frank and her family - a factoid that will probably not be mentioned in Activision's marketing push.

Well, it sucks to have to wait a couple more months for the game but it's plain to see they've got more work to do. To my knowledge, they still haven't said a thing about the game's multiplayer yet.
